- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast. Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark,
- 0:24Speaker 1: a Hallmark review podcast. Him Megan and I'm a longtime
- 0:27Speaker 1: Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater. Five
- 0:30Speaker 1: years later, we are here kicking off the start of
- 0:33Speaker 1: the countdown to Christmas season with our first movie review,
- 0:39Speaker 1: A Royal Montana Christmas, which originally aired on Saturday, October
- 0:43Speaker 1: eighteenth and is currently available to stream on Hallmark Plus.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Can you hear the excitement in our voices right now?
- 0:50Speaker 1: I am pumped? You're pumped because it's finally countdown to
- 0:54Speaker 1: Christmas season? Or yeah, yeah, I gotta tell you, like
- 0:59Speaker 1: there's a little bit of like whimsy in the air,
- 1:01Speaker 1: Like I'm excited that we're all in on Christmas movies now.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I have seen some chatter online about like people are like, no,
- 1:10Speaker 1: not until November. Yeah, And I'm kind of surprised by that.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I think that's all. You know, some people are purists
- 1:16Speaker 1: one holiday at a time. We've got to get through Halloween,
- 1:18Speaker 1: which I understand, but unfortunately the Hallmark calendar doesn't allow
- 1:23Speaker 1: us to do that. Also, in our house, Christmas decorations
- 1:25Speaker 1: go up No. Number eighth, so you know, we do
- 1:29Speaker 1: not respect the timelines around here. I think what I'm
- 1:33Speaker 1: feeling is, I'm really excited about the holiday season right now.
- 1:37Speaker 1: For some reason. It's because this year's been crazy, and
- 1:40Speaker 1: that's why. Yeah, right, I need like the coziness and
- 1:42Speaker 1: the warmth and tradition. Yeah. Yeah, Wendy and I were
- 1:45Speaker 1: just talking about this year. We both cried a little bit,
- 1:48Speaker 1: so it has been a weird year. Also, I'm feeling
- 1:53Speaker 1: this kind of renewed sense of excitement about our business
- 1:56Speaker 1: and doing this and sitting here and talking to you
- 1:58Speaker 1: about these movies. Yeah, it's not like we haven't talked
- 2:01Speaker 1: about Hallmark movies all year long, but I just think,
- 2:05Speaker 1: I think because we haven't had as many new movies
- 2:09Speaker 1: this year, it feels this year's felt different in terms
- 2:15Speaker 1: of Hallmark. So yes, I'm excited too. I'm excited. Well,
- 2:19Speaker 1: we want you to come along on this count on
- 2:21Speaker 1: a Christmas ride with us. We want to be your
- 2:23Speaker 1: go to resource for Hallmark news and reviews, and there's
- 2:28Speaker 1: several places you can find us. We are on both
- 2:30Speaker 1: Instagram and TikTok as Girls Gone Homework. Yeah, there's different
- 2:34Speaker 1: content over there. Sometimes it crosses over, but there are
- 2:37Speaker 1: two totally unique platforms we loved on Instagram. This weekend
- 2:42Speaker 1: we launched in our feed first impression posts for both movies,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and thank you to everyone who participated in those. It
- 2:48Speaker 1: was so fun to see your first impressions of those
- 2:51Speaker 1: new movies flowing in in real time. Agreed, I loved it.
- 2:55Speaker 1: So if you aren't following us yet, come on over
- 2:58Speaker 1: to Girls Gone Hallmark and join the comversation there, and
- 3:02Speaker 1: our website will remain your go to resource for Hallmark
- 3:06Speaker 1: news all season long, Girls Gone Hallmark dot com. You know,
- 3:10Speaker 1: a week from today, as we're recording this, the Finding
- 3:13Speaker 1: Mister Christmas season drops. Yes, and I'm wondering, is it
- 3:17Speaker 1: your plan to write those Killder synopsis posts? I? Yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's my plan. That was such a joy last year.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I love that show so much and I love just
- 3:29Speaker 1: digging in with Truly, those posts were like my first
- 3:33Speaker 1: reaction as you were watching. Yes, I love it, I
- 3:37Speaker 1: hope so yes, I'm going to write review posts for
- 3:40Speaker 1: it this year. We will be reviewing it, of course
- 3:42Speaker 1: on the podcast. If you hadn't read Wendy's recap and
- 3:45Speaker 1: review posts, those are still on our website from Finding
- 3:48Speaker 1: Mister Christmas Season one. They're an absolutely I recommend them,
- 3:51Speaker 1: especially if you are rewatching or watching season one for
- 3:54Speaker 1: the first time. I love that show. I cannot wait
- 3:58Speaker 1: for that show to come back. Game so excited. Hey,
- 4:01Speaker 1: we have a Facebook group if you are looking to
- 4:04Speaker 1: chat with people who really know their Hallmark movies. And
- 4:09Speaker 1: I'm talking these people know their stuff. Come join us.
- 4:13Speaker 1: We are girls Gone Hallmark in Facebook groups. That's right.
- 4:17Speaker 1: We're gonna jump right into A Royal Montana Christmas with
- 4:20Speaker 1: a synopsis. Princess Victoria of Zelarnia is ready for a
- 4:25Speaker 1: change of pace. Looking to decompress in the days leading
- 4:29Speaker 1: up to Christmas, she decides to take a vacation to
- 4:32Speaker 1: Peaceful Pines Ranch in Montana. Peter Benson directed A Royal
- 4:37Speaker 1: Montana Christmas. Peter is booked and busy this holiday season
- 4:40Speaker 1: as he will also direct Christmas Above the Clouds and
- 4:43Speaker 1: The More the Merrier. Peter will also appear as an
- 4:46Speaker 1: actor in The More the Merrier. Oh really, that's a
- 4:51Speaker 1: nice addition, right. I always enjoy seeing him pop up
- 4:55Speaker 1: in our movies. Mark fa mcleetti and Michael test Duh
- 5:01Speaker 1: wrote A Royal Montana Christmas. This is the first Hallmark
- 5:04Speaker 1: movie for both writers. I feel like I hear you
- 5:06Speaker 1: snickering over there over my pronunciation of I'm not doing anything.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Warren Christy stars as Huntley. Warren was recently in the
- 5:15Speaker 1: fall movie Home Turf, as well as last year's Our
- 5:18Speaker 1: Holiday Story with Nikki de Loach. His other Hallmark appearances
- 5:22Speaker 1: include Crashing through the Snow and Holiday Road. Fiona Googleman
- 5:27Speaker 1: plays Princess Victoria of Zolarnia. Am I seeing Zalarnia correctly? Yes, ma'am.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Fiona was last seen on Hallmark in Tis this season.
- 5:36Speaker 1: To be irish, she's been busy for the last several
- 5:40Speaker 1: years on the series The Good Doctor. David Ka plays
- 5:43Speaker 1: Gabriel with eighty eight acting credits. He was last on
- 5:45Speaker 1: Hallmark and Christmas under the Lights. He's also appeared in
- 5:48Speaker 1: The Wedding Contract and Wedding of a Lifetime. Eric keenly
- 5:53Speaker 1: Side plays Huntley's dad slash ranch owner. On IMDb, he
- 5:58Speaker 1: is listed as ranch owner. He had a name well.
- 6:03Speaker 1: To be fair, Linda Boyd wasn't even credited on IMDb.
- 6:07Speaker 1: The Lovely Linda Boyd, who plays Huntley's mother. Okay. This
- 6:12Speaker 1: movie marks Eric's two hundred and second acting credit. He
- 6:17Speaker 1: was last seen as Mac in the Wish Swap earlier
- 6:20Speaker 1: this season. Rebby Martholer plays Sam Remy was last scene
- 6:23Speaker 1: in Science You'll Delivered To the Moon and Back. She's
- 6:26Speaker 1: the older sister of Miles Marthaller of the Three Wiseman franchise.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Julia Benson plays Shelby. Julia has made a number of
- 6:34Speaker 1: appearances on Hallmark, including Hannah Swinson, Aurora Ta Guarded and
- 6:37Speaker 1: Curious Caterer Mysteries. Her resume also includes BH nine O
- 6:42Speaker 1: two one zero and to All the Boys I've Loved before.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Let's take a quick breay can come right back with
- 6:55Speaker 1: our first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what is your first impression
- 7:00Speaker 1: of a royal Montana Christmas? The kisses were hot, but
- 7:06Speaker 1: the plot was ice cold. Oh no, well to quote
- 7:12Speaker 1: Girls Gone Hallwark Facebook group member Steven Peter Benson pulled
- 7:16Speaker 1: a rabbit out of his hat with this one. Oh Wow,
- 7:21Speaker 1: House divided Friends, first movie out of the gate. You
- 7:25Speaker 1: liked it? Oh boy, let's talk likes Okay, let me
- 7:29Speaker 1: start Okay. I think this was a solid outing for
- 7:33Speaker 1: our first movie of the season. Interesting. I found it cozy,
- 7:38Speaker 1: I found it warm. I am acknowledging that there is
- 7:43Speaker 1: a little bit of first movie glow on this movie.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I was excited to sit down with a warm drink
- 7:52Speaker 1: and a blanket and let it wash over me. I
- 7:57Speaker 1: actually thought there was a lot to like about this movie. Well,
- 8:00Speaker 1: even behind the scenes. You and I were texting while
- 8:05Speaker 1: watching the Night Yet Saturday night. It was Saturday night.
- 8:10Speaker 1: We were texting, right, and I was like, both of
- 8:12Speaker 1: us were like, well, I don't hate it so far
- 8:16Speaker 1: that it fell apart for you. Yeah, it did. I
- 8:18Speaker 1: do have a lot of likes though. Okay, let's hear him. Well.
- 8:22Speaker 1: First of all, I thought Fiona and Warren were great.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I thought they had great chemistry. They had a lot
- 8:30Speaker 1: of energy, Like I was truly believing, like, okay, these
- 8:33Speaker 1: two were into each other, like there was no forcing
- 8:36Speaker 1: that by any means. I thought, Okay, I can see
- 8:39Speaker 1: these two naturally, like have feelings for each other. They
- 8:43Speaker 1: had solid kisses. I'm sure we're going to talk more
- 8:45Speaker 1: about that. Warren and a cowboy hat approved. I love that.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I love this rough cowboy. Can I interrupt you and
- 8:52Speaker 1: tell you that? Listener Michelle messages and asked if Warren
- 8:55Speaker 1: Christie has achieved wowie zowie status. Oh, no doubt, Yes,
- 9:02Speaker 1: no doubt. I also I thought their characters were totally likable.
- 9:10Speaker 1: And here's what I really liked about this movie. I
- 9:15Speaker 1: thought we were gonna get this fish out of water
- 9:19Speaker 1: princess who you know that typical trophe. Sure, I thought
- 9:25Speaker 1: this is exactly what we were gonna get. We did
- 9:28Speaker 1: not know and were in her element on the ranch.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I was pleasantly surprised by that. That was a good
- 9:35Speaker 1: thing for me, speaking of pleasant surprises. Our conflict in
- 9:37Speaker 1: the movie is not contrived. It's not rooted in anything
- 9:40Speaker 1: silly or frustrating to watch. It's just rooted in the
- 9:43Speaker 1: reality of life. They're different people with different life priorities,
- 9:50Speaker 1: and it was believable that she would leave after their kiss.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Put an asterisk by that. Yes, I agree. I'm not
- 9:58Speaker 1: saying the whole movie was believe okay, but I thought
- 10:01Speaker 1: her I thought that was very real. They had this moment.
- 10:05Speaker 1: They clearly like each other. There's no need to throw
- 10:09Speaker 1: a wrench in the system other than she's got to
- 10:12Speaker 1: go home and take over. She's got responsibilities. She's a
- 10:17Speaker 1: reluctant royal. Right. Additional likes, if I may Yes, I
- 10:22Speaker 1: loved our assistant Gabriel. I loved his wardrobe. I loved
- 10:26Speaker 1: Wendy's shaking her head No, I'm shaking my head a
- 10:28Speaker 1: good way, yes, snapping snappings. David Kay was a scene
- 10:32Speaker 1: stiller in this movie. Agree. I loved his wardrobe. I
- 10:35Speaker 1: liked his quibie one liners. I liked his sidekick bestie energy.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I thought that was a great choice for her sidekick,
- 10:43Speaker 1: for her sounding board, for her second her sidekick. Looking
- 10:49Speaker 1: for another word there that I can't pull out of
- 10:51Speaker 1: the depths of my brain. I really was touched by
- 10:56Speaker 1: Victoria reliving the memories of her father. I love like
- 11:00Speaker 1: the kids in those scenes, but I thought her visiting
- 11:04Speaker 1: this ranch and finding joy in the memories and reliving
- 11:10Speaker 1: how connected she felt to her dad on this trip.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I really liked that. And I really loved our supporting cast,
- 11:19Speaker 1: Lynda Boyd, Eric Keenley side. They just brought a lot
- 11:23Speaker 1: to this movie. Gabriel, of course, Danny Kay. I just
- 11:27Speaker 1: I David Kay, David K Danny Kay, it's the wrong guy.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think they leveled up the movie. I would agree
- 11:37Speaker 1: with that. I thought I like I said, I thought
- 11:41Speaker 1: it was solid, And again I don't know if I
- 11:42Speaker 1: was just in the right mood for the first movie
- 11:44Speaker 1: of the season, but I felt the coziness of this
- 11:46Speaker 1: movie come through on the screen. Back to David Kay
- 11:50Speaker 1: for a second. I his role easily could have been
- 11:57Speaker 1: a bigger role. Yes, I thought he had some of
- 12:00Speaker 1: the best lines throughout this movie, Right at the top
- 12:03Speaker 1: when they're talking about him going to this ranch with
- 12:06Speaker 1: her and he goes the only ranch I know is
- 12:08Speaker 1: ranch dressing. I mean I laughed out loud. I thought
- 12:13Speaker 1: it was hilarious. He was so good. I was like,
- 12:16Speaker 1: put this man I wanted. I just wanted more from him,
- 12:20Speaker 1: Like easily could have been a bigger role, so good.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I Also what I liked about this movie is I
- 12:31Speaker 1: don't love a Royal movie because I don't like the
- 12:34Speaker 1: shenanigans that go along with it. So I was so
- 12:39Speaker 1: happy that this one was void of those. Like we
- 12:45Speaker 1: didn't have. She wasn't hiding her identity. There wasn't any
- 12:49Speaker 1: sort of like Papa Razzi looking for her, you know,
- 12:54Speaker 1: like those kind of tropes that we see in the
- 12:56Speaker 1: royal storyline. I think it was real that nobody knew
- 13:00Speaker 1: who she was because nobody knows who these second tier
- 13:04Speaker 1: royals are of these tiny little countries growing she the royal.
- 13:10Speaker 1: How many royals do you know outside of the British None?
- 13:13Speaker 1: Could you identify any of those other royals? Nope, no,
- 13:15Speaker 1: neither could I, And I think the vast majority of
- 13:18Speaker 1: people can't either. And that's real. And she was able
- 13:23Speaker 1: to be anonymous because that's rooted in reality. Exactly exactly.
- 13:28Speaker 1: One last like and it's a personal one to me.
- 13:31Speaker 1: When they did the light walk, I really like that
- 13:33Speaker 1: because they're reminded me of the one that we did
- 13:35Speaker 1: in Kansas City. The Oh yeah, I did think about
- 13:38Speaker 1: that too. I liked that lightwalk. I find that whimsical,
- 13:41Speaker 1: which is one of my daughter's favorite words. Right now,
- 13:43Speaker 1: she's bearing into whimsy. Oh, I like that. Pretty cute,
- 13:47Speaker 1: very whimsical. Yeah, the light walk was really pretty. It's
- 13:50Speaker 1: set a tone. It's set a tone. Well, what did
- 13:54Speaker 1: you wish for? I thought the script was a little
- 13:59Speaker 1: lifeless to me because it lacked conflict. There was no
- 14:06Speaker 1: conflict in this movie. It's all internal other than like
- 14:11Speaker 1: he was struggling with like his identity of I was
- 14:15Speaker 1: once a baseball player and now I'm not, and now
- 14:19Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out who I am and what
- 14:22Speaker 1: value is in my life. Right, and then she was like, ah,
- 14:26Speaker 1: I gotta do this job. I'm not really fit for it.
- 14:31Speaker 1: So was it that it's too rooted in reality and
- 14:34Speaker 1: there wasn't enough Because to me, when you say that,
- 14:37Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, that feels more like real life, that
- 14:40Speaker 1: there's not all of this external conflict. Yea, and I
- 14:43Speaker 1: like movies that are rooted in real life. But there
- 14:46Speaker 1: was just no there was. Maybe it's because it wasn't
- 14:49Speaker 1: what I expected. Maybe if I went back at a
- 14:52Speaker 1: second look and watched it from that point of view
- 14:54Speaker 1: of like, oh, this is in real life, this is
- 14:57Speaker 1: how these conversations would happen in real life with real people,
- 15:02Speaker 1: I might appreciate it more. Maybe I went into it
- 15:06Speaker 1: with meeting like oh I need some silly misunderstanding and
- 15:10Speaker 1: some crazy royal meltdown. I don't know. Maybe I maybe
- 15:17Speaker 1: I'm disappointed by it. I don't know. Okay, I don't know.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I just thought I there was no for me, there
- 15:25Speaker 1: was nothing mattered other than what was internal. Yeah, I
- 15:28Speaker 1: hear you, you know saying that. Now I don't want to.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I don't want to. What's the word on diminish. That's
- 15:38Speaker 1: the word. I don't want to diminish it because I
- 15:41Speaker 1: do find value in that, an internal struggle, human conflict,
- 15:48Speaker 1: so finding yourself. Yeah, like I appreciate all that stuff.
- 15:52Speaker 1: So okay, all right, I am. I can say maybe
- 15:58Speaker 1: I didn't hate it as much I thought I hated it. Interesting, gone,
- 16:04Speaker 1: what are your wishes? I have nothing but love for
- 16:09Speaker 1: Fiona Googleman. But my question, when we're making movies about
- 16:14Speaker 1: royals from fake countries, why do they all have to
- 16:17Speaker 1: sound British? Why if okay, this country is set in Europe,
- 16:22Speaker 1: so she's got to have an accent, I suppose, But
- 16:25Speaker 1: I just wonder if there's something to be gained by
- 16:29Speaker 1: not forcing our actors to have a fake British accent,
- 16:31Speaker 1: because many I and many other viewers found that the
- 16:37Speaker 1: accent took us out of the movie. It was the
- 16:41Speaker 1: single most distracting piece for me. And I think no
- 16:46Speaker 1: accent would have been preferable and would have added to
- 16:52Speaker 1: the movie for me. You think I think no accent
- 16:56Speaker 1: would have would I wouldn't have noticed it, I think
- 16:58Speaker 1: Anna I was constantstantly aware of it, constantly aware of
- 17:02Speaker 1: the accent, got it it? Bothered me a little bit,
- 17:05Speaker 1: but I wasn't hung up on it. I mean shout
- 17:08Speaker 1: out to Fiona, like I can't do an accent. Well,
- 17:11Speaker 1: I can't either, And I don't think it's I don't
- 17:13Speaker 1: think she did a bad job of it, Like when
- 17:17Speaker 1: I'm like, that sounds like a British accent, but I don't.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I can't put my finger on what I felt bothered by,
- 17:24Speaker 1: but I did find it distract Did you watch with subtitles?
- 17:32Speaker 1: I must have. I know some people said, like the
- 17:34Speaker 1: dialect was rough, like they couldn't understand some of the
- 17:37Speaker 1: words that she was saying. Oh. Interesting, I can't understand
- 17:40Speaker 1: people say even when they're not speaking in it exactly.
- 17:42Speaker 1: That's why I asked if you want those subtitles, because
- 17:44Speaker 1: that's all every show. I have a question. Think back
- 17:48Speaker 1: to Double Scoop, which we recently reviewed, starring front of
- 17:51Speaker 1: the show Jaqueline Collier. The daughter around that movie makes
- 17:53Speaker 1: a ton of cow jokes constantly because they're on a
- 17:55Speaker 1: dairy farm. The cowjokes in that movie, the horse metaphors
- 17:59Speaker 1: in this one. What are you voting for? Oh, the
- 18:04Speaker 1: horse metaphors? Yeah? I liked him. From Eric Keiley's side. Yeah,
- 18:07Speaker 1: it was like dad joke adjacent. Yeah, yeah, I just
- 18:11Speaker 1: maybe it's a teenager delivering punny jokes that greats on me.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I don't know. I was not bothered at all. Did
- 18:20Speaker 1: you wish for anything else? No? One, one one. How
- 18:28Speaker 1: do you feel? It's more of a question, how do
- 18:30Speaker 1: you feel about let's put a Christmas dance at the
- 18:34Speaker 1: plot line, like we're planning this look I like a
- 18:38Speaker 1: plan in a movie, like a montage of setting up
- 18:42Speaker 1: all the things. I'm not bothered by that storyline whatsoever.
- 18:47Speaker 1: How did you well, I don't know how it makes money. Yeah,
- 18:51Speaker 1: I don't or enough to be helpful, but I don't
- 18:56Speaker 1: mind it. It gives us something to do. It gives us.
- 18:59Speaker 1: You know, it had multiple purposes, right it They brought
- 19:03Speaker 1: back this dance that was important to her, But it
- 19:08Speaker 1: was also important to hunt Lee because they it kind
- 19:11Speaker 1: of the end of the dance had marked the end
- 19:13Speaker 1: of his career. But it also served the purpose of
- 19:17Speaker 1: being a fundraiser. It gave us something to do. It
- 19:20Speaker 1: brought the Christmas elements into the movie with the decorps.
- 19:23Speaker 1: You know, provided action in the movie. I'm not sure
- 19:26Speaker 1: where else the action would have come from right. So
- 19:29Speaker 1: I enjoyed the Christmas Dance. Yeah, I like it too.
- 19:32Speaker 1: My only criticism is sometimes I feel Hallmark writers, especially
- 19:37Speaker 1: new ones, feel like this is the formula we have
- 19:41Speaker 1: to follow, like we need an event. Yeah. Yeah, I'm
- 19:44Speaker 1: glad it was on the nineteenth and not the twenty fourth.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I'll tell you that much. I'm going to talk about
- 19:49Speaker 1: that in my wishes. Okay, this is our wishes. No,
- 19:52Speaker 1: I'm sorry, and my did you see that? Well, let's
- 19:54Speaker 1: do did you see that? Who? This is more of
- 19:58Speaker 1: a question, but do you go to a dude ranch
- 20:02Speaker 1: the week before Christmas? Ish? A week and a half
- 20:05Speaker 1: before Christmas. It's a busy time of year. I think,
- 20:10Speaker 1: you know, I think some people do. We We almost
- 20:14Speaker 1: never travel for Christmas, but one year with my family
- 20:17Speaker 1: before I was married, we traveled like we were gone
- 20:20Speaker 1: for Christmas at a resort town and it was packed,
- 20:25Speaker 1: really packed. That just seems so like out of the
- 20:29Speaker 1: norm for it is for me too, like I can't
- 20:32Speaker 1: imagine being anywhere but home. Yeah, but especially with like
- 20:36Speaker 1: young children, with young children, yes, because you're in school
- 20:40Speaker 1: still some y're in school, and there's something about like,
- 20:45Speaker 1: to me, Christmas is like waking up around the tree.
- 20:47Speaker 1: But I you know, I'm allowing for people to have
- 20:50Speaker 1: different traditions. And you know it's the week before, so
- 20:54Speaker 1: maybe they're home in time to have Christmas around their tree. Yeah.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Have you been to a dude ranch before? Seems to
- 21:00Speaker 1: me that you may have. I haven't, but it is
- 21:03Speaker 1: something I would love to do. I wouldn't look for Christmas.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I'm like like a luxury dude rink, like a luxury
- 21:09Speaker 1: dude dance. Yeah, I don't. I don't want glamping, but
- 21:12Speaker 1: I would like horseback riding, and I would like a
- 21:16Speaker 1: fire pit every night, and I would like I don't
- 21:18Speaker 1: want the muck stalls. I don't think they're actually making
- 21:20Speaker 1: you muck out stalls. That's my question. Why are they working?
- 21:24Speaker 1: I don't think they are. I don't think there really are. Okay,
- 21:28Speaker 1: you know I used to go to a ranch camp
- 21:32Speaker 1: right as a young queen ager there. I can see that.
- 21:37Speaker 1: And we did have to do chores, yes, and I
- 21:39Speaker 1: did have to muck outstalls. That feels expected at a camp, sure,
- 21:44Speaker 1: but on a vacation. No, I'm not paying to go
- 21:47Speaker 1: muck out stalls. But I would be interested in all
- 21:51Speaker 1: of those outdoor, like, yeah, teach me to lasso, Let's
- 21:54Speaker 1: play horse shoes, Let's go ride a horse, Let's go
- 21:57Speaker 1: fly fishing. The horseshoe scene, this is not in my digits,
- 22:02Speaker 1: not on my official notes, but now that you just
- 22:04Speaker 1: brought that up, they're playing horseshoes like inside a house,
- 22:07Speaker 1: and it's not a house. They're in the barn or whatever.
- 22:11Speaker 1: It's so loud, like they're throwing that horseshoe, that metal
- 22:15Speaker 1: horseshoe against the metal pole, and it's like clan Clinton clang.
- 22:19Speaker 1: If you were like in an enclosed area around that,
- 22:21Speaker 1: wouldn't you be like that's really annoying, annoying and disruptive
- 22:26Speaker 1: because I'm trying to have a conversation over here. I
- 22:29Speaker 1: have no fun. That would I retate me? Yeah? Me too.
- 22:31Speaker 1: The horseshoe pit should be outside, absolutely. Yeah. The hay
- 22:37Speaker 1: bail tree, I liked it. It doesn't look like a tree.
- 22:40Speaker 1: It looks like a stack of hay bales with lights
- 22:41Speaker 1: on it. They should have made it more three sixty like, oh,
- 22:45Speaker 1: I remember that movie. Just looks like a pyramid of
- 22:48Speaker 1: haybil What is that movie where they oh it was
- 22:52Speaker 1: from several seasons ago. It might have been the Andrew
- 22:55Speaker 1: Walker movie where they got caught on that Christmas island
- 22:58Speaker 1: and they made like out of fishing nets or something,
- 23:02Speaker 1: not nets but traps. I think, is it missed it
- 23:05Speaker 1: Christmas or was it Christmas Island? It was one of
- 23:09Speaker 1: those I can envision it. That was nicely done. It
- 23:11Speaker 1: looked like a tree right because it had it was.
- 23:16Speaker 1: It was tree shaped. This was kind of more like
- 23:19Speaker 1: a pyramid. It was. But I liked the idea. I
- 23:22Speaker 1: like the idea the snowman made out of the old tires.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I mean, you know, the execution I think left something
- 23:27Speaker 1: to be desired, but I liked I liked the thinking there.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Work with what you got right. Thank you to Facebook
- 23:37Speaker 1: group moderator Mackie who sent us this. Did you see that?
- 23:42Speaker 1: Aaron Cahill posted on her Instagram that a song featured
- 23:45Speaker 1: in the movie is performed by her husband, Paul Freeman.
- 23:48Speaker 1: The song is come Around for Christmas. Oh that's nice. Yes,
- 23:52Speaker 1: that's really nice. We didn't talk about it, so I
- 23:55Speaker 1: think we're going to talk about it here. How about
- 23:57Speaker 1: them kisses? Gosh? I just realized when we're talking about
- 23:59Speaker 1: the song that I didn't talk about the kiss in
- 24:01Speaker 1: my likes, because look, that kiss is a huge all
- 24:05Speaker 1: caps in my likes. He interrupts her while she's like
- 24:09Speaker 1: letting him know, like why they shouldn't do it. He
- 24:12Speaker 1: kisses her passionately, the snow falling around them, the music swelling.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I thought it was great that we're talking about the
- 24:20Speaker 1: first kiss, right because they had two major kisses. Yes,
- 24:24Speaker 1: the first kiss. The first kiss. I was watching it.
- 24:29Speaker 1: It's so passionate. And then the way he like embraces
- 24:34Speaker 1: her is like he's like I don't want to, like,
- 24:36Speaker 1: I don't want to let you go, Like I've felt
- 24:40Speaker 1: this too. I was like, this is so moving. I
- 24:44Speaker 1: thought it was a kiss from a guy who knew
- 24:46Speaker 1: he had a lot on the line. Yeah. Agree. Now
- 24:49Speaker 1: here's why did you see that? In that particular kiss,
- 24:53Speaker 1: her hair is in her face. I cannot see her
- 24:56Speaker 1: face at all in this kiss. It is literally covering
- 24:59Speaker 1: her her entire profile of her face. Interesting, drove me nuts.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Is it are his hands? No, it's just like a
- 25:07Speaker 1: wall of blonde hair in her face. His hands are
- 25:11Speaker 1: like kind of like grabbing her face. I'm like, but
- 25:15Speaker 1: I just was kind of surprised that she wasn't turned
- 25:17Speaker 1: toward the camera at all, Like we didn't see like
- 25:21Speaker 1: at all. But he is a great smoocher. We talked
- 25:24Speaker 1: about it in home turf as well. He's a great smoocher. Yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 1: we should start a smooch ometer. Smooch a meter ten
- 25:36Speaker 1: out of ten, ten flaming lips. Yep, you guys, it's
- 25:41Speaker 1: follow us on Instagram. It's gonna be there every single week.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Smooth Jimmy, you're gonna put it up there head day day.
- 25:51Speaker 1: What did you rate a Royal Montana Christmas? I feel
- 25:54Speaker 1: bad because of my like revelation I had while I
- 25:57Speaker 1: was discussing trust you're reading, I don't know what you
- 25:59Speaker 1: have written down. Keep it the same. I gave it
- 26:02Speaker 1: two and a half stars. I gave it three and
- 26:03Speaker 1: a half stars. Okay, before we end this episode, I
- 26:07Speaker 1: would like to share some recent listener feedback on our episode.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Last week we reviewed Autumn Dreams and way no no
- 26:14Speaker 1: oh no, and Wendy had said that great. You know,
- 26:20Speaker 1: we get that flash forward and they pull back and
- 26:22Speaker 1: she's pregnant, and I go, god, I must have missed that.
- 26:25Speaker 1: So then I go rewind, I'm like, did I turn
- 26:27Speaker 1: off the movie? So I go rewatch the end that
- 26:29Speaker 1: does not happen. So I text Wendy. I said, reh, hallucinated.
- 26:33Speaker 1: She goes, oh, I must have been another Joe Wagner
- 26:35Speaker 1: movie that I watched after So then I look for
- 26:37Speaker 1: Joe Wagner follow movies and I fast forward to the
- 26:41Speaker 1: last minute, and in fact, the movie with Joe Wagner
- 26:45Speaker 1: and Victor Webster there is that scene. And thank you
- 26:49Speaker 1: because as we're recording this, an email just came in
- 26:51Speaker 1: from Beverly listener Beverly who says that scene was not
- 26:56Speaker 1: in this movie, but with Joe Wagner and Victor Webster.
- 27:02Speaker 1: She also went back and double checked the name of
- 27:05Speaker 1: that movie with Wowie Zowie and Jill is a harvest wedding. Look.
- 27:14Speaker 1: My biggest pet peeve is when people are confidently wrong.
- 27:18Speaker 1: And I was so confident last week when we recorded
- 27:22Speaker 1: that episode. I was like, yeah, and they pulled back.
- 27:24Speaker 1: It's a great scene. It's a great We're like, I mean,
- 27:27Speaker 1: you must have turned the movie off to really had
- 27:28Speaker 1: to miss it. I just have two Jill Wagner Fall
- 27:32Speaker 1: movies just blended together. For me. It happens, it happens,
- 27:35Speaker 1: So thank you for your feedback. We love your emails.
