- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hello and welcome back to your one and only source we are your hosts.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: My name is Phoebe.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: My name is Caroline and today we are recapping season two episode seven of Gossip Girl.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think six.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Wasn't six desperately seeing Serena?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: No, that was three.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_01]: This is six.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Season two of six of Gossip Girl.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_01]: New Haven can wait.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: this episode, oh my god, it is such a classic, but I feel like not that much happens until like the very end.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: It continues drew you from our, I don't want to say, I don't want to put words in your mouth and say issue with Blair, but it
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: She does what she's been doing the last couple of times.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: She and Serena have gotten into big fights where it's like, well, there I was on your side all the way up until you take it just a little too far.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I know.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: And like, I will just, again, I will just come to my girls to fancy and say, she's thoroughly provoked.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but,
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: Serena fights dirty, but she isn't like she wouldn't have done that.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not, but she did take Blair's answer.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: So like one thing also, but that's not like, but also the same.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: There doesn't give her opportunities to do things like that because it's always Blair hitting back.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's not ever like preemptive and it also feel like it's so much like deeper for Serena because first of all Blair knows Serena doesn't like go to you.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: So she's like,
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think she knows there, like Serena, if she doesn't go to Yale, she'll go around, she'll go wherever.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like, she's aware that Serena's doing this despite her.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like in that way, like her, watching the answer, honestly hurts Blair more than it hurts Serena, and obviously it does.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: But the other thing is it's like, there's just been so much build up to get to this point.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like Serena,
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like Serena is a sneaky guy and maybe this is me putting on my Blair blinders.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, but let's just all put on our Blair blinders for a minute and let's just walk walk through this with me.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think Serena was a very dangerous type of woman who,
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: holds a lot of knowledge in awareness about her friends and the things that make them tick and the things that are going to push them over the edge and the knowledge of how they will respond and what they will do.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: And so she sets these little traps where she's like, okay, I'm going to do x, y and z. I know Blair is then going to do x, y and z.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: And then I get to be the victim and everyone's in how mean Blair is.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think she does that.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is, she doesn't just take the bait in the way that I think Serena expects her to.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, she takes it to another level of warfare that, like at this point, we should expect from her, but it's also like, I do think Serena, it just feels like Blair typically goes to places that it's like,
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: Serena just would be like, I wouldn't expect her to bring up the man that I killed after she like, but like that's just so, but like Serena gets to say that now.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: She knows Blair's going to go low.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't know what Blair is going to do.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: She knows Blair is 17 years old and she Serena is aware that Blair will go low.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't know what Blair will do, but I don't know what she knows, way, way, way, way, way.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: She knows, she will go low and she's prepared because whatever Blair does, she knows, Serena knows that in the end, Serena gets to be the victim and Blair looks like a fucking crazy person and it's ends up hurting Blair more than her, Serena.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's true, regardless.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: Blair needs, like, with last week sending the bottles home.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's like, she takes it to another level of, like, you don't need to go that far at the off-straf center.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and that's what I mean is that this is another example of how Blair needs to learn when to just let Serena
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: fall on her own.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: She doesn't have to like do another thing to get someone in trouble.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think it doesn't end up back to find a trouble.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's really about that.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's about hurting her.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's what it's like.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like it's not trouble.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: I just mean like it's about getting back at Serena.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and she needs to learn to put like tighten the reins a little bit and not go so low that ends up on the bottom.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: We're like she needs to learn how to let Serena like fall on her own.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like there is no falling on her own.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's not about Blair letting Serena do that.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: Blair's like
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: Blair has Blair wants the retribution.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: So she does, it's not about Serena falling for Blair.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I was Blair need to learn and not do that.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't feel like it's like let Serena fall on her own because at the end of the day, Serena will find somebody else to do this with because Serena's perpetual victim.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: She needs to regenerate on her own.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she totally doesn't do that stuff because I just don't like that.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like we're
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: I have a massive justice complex, so for me, it's like Serena deserves it.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: Fuck you.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't even care about you.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: You don't even fucking care about you.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: You don't even want to go here.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't actually give a fuck.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's a different thing because I also feel like I see and Blair something similar to Hannah, which we've talked about before.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: in terms of loyalty and like she loves her friends so deeply.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just like even when Serena screws you over and is a shitty friend just pull away your friendship.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to like
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: blow the show because she can't provide though because if she pulls away her friend, she will learn that Serena doesn't need her and that's Serena doesn't miss her that's what she's afraid of because that's what she learned with her father and with her mother and with all these yeah I know I still I guess the reason we have this much to discuss about Blair and her actions is because late and maester has just made her so layered where it's like they're really are
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of different ways to view her behavior and like I do sympathize a lot with her because here's the thing I might never do the things that player does This is not to say that when I was 17 I wouldn't have done things that you would not have done this well Phoebe I wouldn't have had the opportunity You didn't let me finish
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that I would do the things that Blair did because I wouldn't, but what I do things that were vengeful and seeking retribution just to do them, sure.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like in my own world, I don't live in the Upper East Side in a fictionalized script.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I didn't do what Blair did because my friends hadn't killed anybody before, so I didn't actually have that.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: I know what I'm saying.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: But who knows if I had?
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: If you had you would have done this, I know you would have been from a place of justice, not from a place that I'm just being like, like, Serena's is.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like, Blair, that's true.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: It wouldn't be just like, I'm like, you did something, and now I think you need to face justice.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: You wronged me or somebody I love.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: I in a family black and white kind of way.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: Now the way I'm going to get back at you is going to make it a lot less black and white, but I see the motivators for her and I understand and I do like I'm obviously Serena is provoking her and is making her react this way.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's like kicking a dog and then being mad that it bites you back.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like the dog should still know not to bite 100% but really the human should never have kicked that dog.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I would never kick a dog, you know what I mean?
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Because I would just know that like, hey, if I kick this dog, it could bite me.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: I know that's a possibility.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't want to give it the opportunity.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: you know what I mean and I know I'm really at the end of the day we're going to get into the episode but at the end of the day how what it really is for me I think is that I sympathize a lot with Blair in a lot of her triggers and her need to be perfect in her like just the way that she feels or she has this like justice complex and when people
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: She values loyalty like above all else and when you are disloyal it hurts in a way that like, maybe isn't totally rational.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: I completely empathize with that.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't unfortunately because I am theorized.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, maybe there's a situation in my life right now where my family is like holding me back like putting me in a straight jacket So that I don't do the things that I want to do now.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: They don't necessarily have to do those things I'm not gonna go crazy into any of these things because I'm therapists and I know not to so it is fun for me to watch the fictional character Get that justice because I can't in my real life and it feels fucking good to see Blair do it to Serena
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: I get, yeah, I get to where I mean the end coming from with why it's so hard to watch is that that's really my issue with it is that it's hard to watch and that it's like watching Blair
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: make things harder for herself and she thinks it's going to make her feel better and she's actually like she's hurting someone that she cares about by bringing that up but also she's hurting something that someone that we care about because we care about Blair which is why we don't like it like that's why you don't like it is because you do love Blair and it's like that we were rude to you.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want you to do this because I know I know you didn't feel and I'm not comparing Blair to Lucy all bright and I know you didn't
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: But it did feel like I felt like I cared about Lucy and I was like, I want you to like, do you be on the other side of this?
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why the end of tell me lies was so much like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, don't act like you it.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, it also was so realistic because oftentimes
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: You have that friend that you love so much and they do go back, you know, like it that is usually how like I the last thing we'll say before we jump into the episode is I watched this episode this morning and then I watched pretty little Liars after I'm at the part where Ali has come back to school and she has the confrontation with Mona and Serena or Mona and Ali in the church.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's oh my god low key Blair and Serena
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: My god, you're the sl... Oh my god, you're right.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're gonna do an edit with Ali and Mona and Blair.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: Ali and Serena and Mona is Blair.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and we can have the moment where Ali, well, I was gonna say, Blair, that they're the first punch, because she threw her purse at Serena's head, but I was gonna say we can have the Ali slap.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you know, Mona's first.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: No Mona's first.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so yeah, so, okay, I'll get to the lab.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so, and you know what's interesting is most people like to compare, they like to compare queen bees in terms of Blair and Ali, but really,
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: Serena is Ali, 100% 100% and I do think like
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: the things that like there is a part of Blair had she not been born into the world she was born into where she does start as a loser Mona you know what I mean that but also to give the people drawing the comparisons between Ali and Blair credit had Blair been born in Rosewood without
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so we start with an epic Blair dream.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: I believe this is my favorite lady where they're trying to teach Eliza due little how to be a lady and they're like teaching her how to pronounce things because she has this horrible accent that they all hate.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I did also as in watching this, they have Blair as Eliza due little.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: and they have the subtitles and it's like in a terrible British accent.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like a copy of it.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: I got that too.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: It was like okay, chill.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like she's doing on a purpose and then I realized like yeah, that is the point of the character that she like has to be taught how to get rid of this accent.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: But she's trying to say the rhyme and spine falls mindly on the plane.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: And that's literally like I would never want to play that role because that I have to do that and people would be like that was bad and you'd be like, no, that's a point.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think roles like that definitely have to be difficult for actors to do my God, they stress me out bad are like when you're playing an actor who's like you're you're an actor playing an actor in the actor, so it's too bad and then like, oh, it's rough anyway.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: And so she can't say it right whatever and then of course, Serena comes in and rolls her arms is the rain and Spain falls mainly on the plane and this is where we we we expose Caroline Caroline can't roll her arms is this the first time we're acknowledging that I think it might be low key can you roll your arms?
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, now do that.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: So a warm up.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: I have my my can't do it.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: I've tried so long I can't do that with my lips.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where we are even.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: Let me try and teach you because I teach kids all the time.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: I can't do it.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like, your face has to be completely relaxed.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: Your lips have to be like lightly touching barely.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: Now just like that was pretty good.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: Registered.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then you just add in a little bit of a home, a little bit of pitch.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then you just work on sustaining.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, work on.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, my good teacher, or what?
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: Holy shit.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't even have to be in person to work my magic.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: But then if a kid can roll their arms, they'll have them do that rolling their arms, which I cannot do, and it kills me.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: Can you?
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just showed you that I could.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: No, dude.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: But roll your arms.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I would kill to be able to do that.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: I have so much tongue tension.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I can't roll my arms and it's really scary.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's true, Phoebe, I do.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: I do.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: I have a lot of tongue tension at socks.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's socks, actually.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: For singing.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Pervert, anyway.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: So then, where can I say, a exclusive, exclusively for singing?
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's only for singing.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: You fucking freaks.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I have to say, I cannot wait so much love island tonight.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: I can't feel the cause of a more twist.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: I am so excited.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: My jaw dropped at the team.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: When I was, because I was like, Shirley, I knew Christophe was coming.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: So in my brain, I was like, they're bringing the boys in during the, yeah.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: Or when we saw the boys were going to be like the boys are in the box.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, this is way better than movie night.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: Can I just say something because it's going to be a while before we get to talk about this real quick and guys.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: Just like if you want more of this Friday's episode, that's what this is.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: I've been watching after song this season because I want to support Sierra and they, the changes they've made to it in addition to just having Sierra and Tuffy makes it, like,
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: I, it's now Saturdays I do watch after they have made it appealing.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: I love what I think this is their way of combating the internet hate is like, hey, we're going to show you these people when they have their phones.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: And like that's it.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's actually really good point.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I also feel like I've noticed.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: They're been a couple things that so when that Sierra and Tuffy have said that are, um,
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: I've been surprised at how like honest they are like how they I don't want to say PC, but like they're been a couple things that they've said where I'm like, like if this was the bachelor nation podcast, they kind of protect the players more right.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like when they talked about Sean being a cop and like how people were responding to that, I was surprised they even acknowledged that.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: Because you think about like grocery store Joe and Serena as podcasts and it's like they can't they have to be nice about every contestant right and like last night with a way that Tuffy was talking about sincere I was like dang like that wouldn't be allowed and it makes it so much more I feel like because these aren't love island People that are doing it now It used to be more and I think she was coming from more of a place of like she's getting there texting them.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah Whereas these people Tuffy and Sierra are more like
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: unfiltered and it makes it so much more fun to watch because I feel like I'm just like literally out of work happy hour talking about love island with a bunch of people I only watched their first episode but I really liked it and I will be watching last night's but yeah I was really excited by the like I will honestly see these contestants get their phones back because I think it's interesting like one of the things that be uh like
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: So she was talking to her friend and they show her friend being like, hey, everybody thinks you're gay and she was like, I've gotten that my entire life because I'm an athlete, like, okay, and like she wasn't like offended by it, but it was just interesting to see like what if you had to hear the things that you were saying about this person on the
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we had to hear our podcast played for these people, but like that's the idea is like would that make you think twice about what you would post?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but it's just kind of interesting on where they're like made by the guest probably not most likely not, but it is interesting and I think it's like an interesting.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: We really get more people watching than also be like,
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, and I just think see pulling the curtain back and seeing all of the them get going from the village of the hotel They get even that like the convert last night.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: We see a conversation between soul and Gabe and the band on the way to the hotel and then talk like the same way we get to see the contestants on the island
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: debrief the decisions that they made.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: We also get to see them talk about how they nice.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like they heard us when we said, we like what more of the show.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to watch out for somebody that more of the show, less of like more and these random people from PBS seasons talking about it.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and I feel like that was a lot of them reminiscing on like the good old days.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: I felt like we made it totally didn't talk about the show only No, and it felt like it did feel very sanitized like if it felt very scripted Sierra and have you have like a really nice like Banner and they don't seem Scripted it all really which is people are like they're so on professional.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, no, you're just used to this like
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's also them taking a page out of the, like the rulebook right now of like podcasts in terms of people enjoy a Jake Shane, a lot of people just come on and they are talking about content that they're typically promoting, but they're doing it in a much more casual, friendly way rather than like I'm a journalist or I'm a Chris Harrison who's like, Caesar Flickerman.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: Right, you know.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well, if you want more of this tune in on Friday to some of our Fridays, we'll be talking all about it, along with all the other reality TV to speak.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: But back to the episode Blair wakes up from her dream, throughout his bringing her breakfast, and it is Yale Day.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone is going to be going to Yale for the weekend, see what's what it's all about, and she's just like so excited.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: And she's talking about, I guess the dean every year has like a private mixer, and only the elites get invited.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: So she has to score an invite there.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: Father Dorado went to the end by what her father also went to the yes, yeah, garden and bite to this Dorado holds up page six and Serena's all over it and she's looking at herself on the page two
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: with her close personal friend.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm sorry they called you my unidentified friend.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like, okay, I guess it's better than being called your mother, would you say?
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: I guess it's better than being called your mother, mother.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: When Lily pulls out the dresses and she's like, oh, she sent me two and three and he's like, oh my god, mom's going to be so embarrassed when I say this, but mom, that's for me.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: It was so giving like, I'm all over the paper, Zika, and I'm on page six, like it's just giving that.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and she's kind of living for the little like your time down from mom is getting.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little bit like, oh, God, sorry.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: I have to be the one to break it to where that she's not 27 anymore.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: Mom, I love you and you are gorgeous, and you know I think that.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: But that trust you are you are an example of what aging gracefully can look like.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: Look like, but that's for your daughter.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: So we find out that Serena and Blair haven't spoken in a week and Serena got a personal invite from Yale hand written and cursive.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: And like at this point in the episode Serena is like no, that's like the one thing I'll never do.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot do that to Blair.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like Yale is Blair's, I will go to Brown.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: Well,
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: This is another thing where I'm like, Blair, can you just save yourself for a second?
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what, you could have just had the upper hand and let this whole weekend go by without a hitch if this conversation at school that you're about to have, if you just didn't like lay in just Serena as much as you did.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: And again, and I did, right.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: You're smarter, but you're smarter, and he's going to swoop in and say, well, see, I kind of understand why she said all of that mean stuff to Serena.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's so funny.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like Serena and Blair speak for the first time in a week.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: I guess in the halls and they're talking about like the school's in and Blair is talking is talking to Serena like Brown is like a bad school.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like she's like good luck there.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: She was I can't wait for you to come home next Thanksgiving.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: A militant vegan Easter and neem it can proud.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: So that she said she's like you know we barely hear in this part of the country We don't even consider Brown Ivy.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she's like um the only real Ivy is the holy Trinity Harvard Yale in Princeton, you know that like she's like you're so stupid and Serena's like Okay, well, and this is actually an iconic moment she goes I know you may find that sort of believe it not Everybody wants to go to Yale because not everybody wants to be Blair Waldorf not everybody can't be
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: Which I actually multiple times in the last couple days I've brought up my I think what is now my favorite Chuck Bass quote, which is when Dan comes up the elevator and says, look, I know what you think of me, I don't think of you.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think of you.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: Cutting cuts Dan off.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think of you.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: So, which I actually think is a good reminder for a lot of people.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think there are a lot of people in this world who go around like, why do these people hate me?
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: Why doesn't nobody, why doesn't anybody want to hang out with me?
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's like they're not thinking of that.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, anxiety, selfish, everyone's thinking about themselves.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: You're thinking about you.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they don't think of you.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: That is so, I mean, and he delivers it.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: Look, I know what you think of me.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think of you.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, he's like touching his forehead.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think of you.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: As it is, it's actually the first thought that like a tumbleweed across his mind.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's Dan, Dan Humphrey's head and he's like, I feel like I don't think of you.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: So it is, you know, Chuck, like this rewatch, he's so much funnier than I remember him.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm funny.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really enjoying it.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's so funny.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: So we did skip ahead a little bit because first before we go to school, we go
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can't stand him.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: Now, he's literally intolerable.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's deciding what paper to print his essay on.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: And like, hey, Dan, this is what pisses me off because later we find out that you actually, this is what you're worried about.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, you're coming.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: You're going.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to letters of wreck.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: Dan, have an application.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to have a complete offer of the shit.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: And paper, my eye.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: Let's fulfill the criteria first.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: How about that one, my God?
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: My god, he just thinks it's like you might be in Brooklyn and on scholarship and all these things, but like you think you are cream of the crop and so there you go, your just as bad as another fucking guy's mate has an incredible line later on in the episode that is just like that's that's the end problem like he is so
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: He wants the best of both worlds and so many ways like he wants to be the lonely boy Brooklyn I, he like is poor and is never going to be given a good chance, but then he also wants to be the guy who interviewed with Jeremiah or intern with Jeremiah Harris and writes all these like eloquent.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to be that renaider what exactly like he wants instead of being like the writer who like is just young scrappy and hungry.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to be the writer that goes to Yale.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_00]: To quote a young writer, he wants to be the writer who's young, scrappy and hungry, yeah, I know exactly, I mean, it's, yeah, I kills me.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: And so anyway, Chuck and Nate are getting ready, and they're going whatever, but Nate's like not really that interested in it.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: And Chuck is evaluating colleges based on secret societies, and I guess Yale has like one of the best ones.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's called Skeleton Bell and so.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: And Chuck says to Dan, as Dan's getting ready to go, he goes, say hello to the characters of public transportation for me.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's so funny.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: But the one thing Blair does say to Sabrina, Sabrina, Sabrina, Holyja, Sabrina, I didn't say is after she says not everyone can be.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: She goes, since we're not friends anymore, let me speak frankly, you're not that smart.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: You lack focus and discipline.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: Charm is all well and good, but in the real world, knowledge is power.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's like, you know what, I'm going to yell.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_00]: Fuck you.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm going to swear.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to yell.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I do think.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: Blair underestimates Serena's like wit, you know?
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't mean to give Serena too much credit because Blair is I think smarter than Serena.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: But there is, she, it's not so much that she's discounting Serena's wit.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's more so that she's discounting how far charisma can get you.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like, um, of course, knowledge is power, but you you need knowledge plus something else.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of what I feel like Serena, we see that
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, not so it's like so sad.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: So she has a social intelligence that I think sometimes Blair forgets, gets you far, totally.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what like it breaks my heart a little bit for Blair and her Yale interview.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's again like one thing about the writers is every penny service up some really bad moments for Blair.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: They also in the same episode usually serve us up a little bit of like backstory that's helpful.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: They don't do that with Serena, which is why they don't use a root for Blair.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: So, we're back at the loft and Jenny has been waiting for Vanessa to come in here because they're in Kuhuts and they're going to charge us into Rufus to let Jenny be homeschooled like Vanessa.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: I have a comment.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: Vanessa walks in here.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: Showing cleavage for Christmas.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: Vanessa was like, okay, plan A, you're just going to ask him.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: Plan B, he's going to come to
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: And what is actually your down word is actually going to do plan C regardless and not a work, so maybe we should start with plans But she does this whole scene is giving Vanessa is like a little bit like is closer to Rufus's age than she is to Jenny's age Yeah, way they like look at each other during this scene when they're like He's like looking at Vanessa like are you sure this film is going right a good idea and she's like Like gives it like a knowing luck.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like real it is.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: I know
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I do feel like maybe he's looking at her like that because he's like, look, Vanessa, you got the realities of the real world.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, not way, you and I have more in common than you have with Jenny, because you understand what it's like to support yourself.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I'm looking at you like, hey, you know what that's like.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: Do you really think Jenny can fucking handle it?
- 28:11[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where Vanessa, I'm like, wake the hell up.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_01]: I've also just decided that Rufus and Vanessa are this shows Melissa and Emily.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: They are.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, you might have decided it, but they did, too.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's true.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: They just added a little.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: Those actors said, what if we just noticed, had we just gave a little something for people to read between the lines?
- 28:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: Even that's like, right, but where she goes on, is that she like rips the shirt a little bit to make the cleavage a little bit deeper.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, somebody will notice and somebody will appreciate it.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: And here we are, any who.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: So he, Rufus is going to go to the Atelier with Johnny and like watch her work and the deal is that if at the end of the day, he still thinks she should go to school, she will.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_00]: So okay, Dan's interviewing at Yale and like I know we are like such a broken record about this man, but he continues to be such an insufferable piece of shit in every scene.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: I see him in like he's impossible to lie.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's just he's rude unfortunately he's not even like the poor kid who is really good manners.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: No, he's
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: He isn't, he's just as enticed as anybody else, almost a person away because I think it's just like really shows that.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: There's a level to Nate and Chuck, even that like they in Serena and Blair, I would say to where they like acknowledge that they know they're coming from a place of privilege and know that they live in this different kind of world and Dan is so attached again to being the Brooklyn
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: he's blinded to number one that he is privileged and entitled because he's in these spaces to begin with.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: But too, that like you're also coming, I don't want to spoil too much, but like with a chip on your shoulder that just makes it all so much worse.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and there's not only one way to be privileged, and I think that he forgets that.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's like, if you have money in New York, you're a privilege and that's that.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, well no,
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: You can also be privileged in so many other ways, like, and you also can still be an asshole and still be entitled, like, just because you're not rich doesn't mean you're not somebody who is entitled, like in a bad way, you know, and I'm just like,
- 30:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like even naping like you know, I'm sure there's somebody who wants this spot more than me like kind of acknowledging now like it's annoying to people like Dan, but it's like Dan that should like make you happy because You are now behaving as somebody who wants that spot so bad, but you're showing up with only one letter rack.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_00]: So they can't even look at your application because you have to have to and it's like that's the level of the carelessness and ego that
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: Now you think you should have in my office and you think you're gonna get that spot in the whole interview he's like Oh, well, I have like this thing.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_00]: I have this thing that he's acting shock feel like yes about you didn't follow the instructions exactly Like if you wanted them to know you had an internship with
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: Noah Shapiro, whoever it was, Harris, you needed to get the letter from him and you didn't do what you needed to do to get that letter.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: So, you can't tell the dean of Yale, like, well, you should actually try calling him at this time because he's not really a morning person.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he's not going to do that.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's just going to move on to the next applicant.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: You need it exactly.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: And it killed me when the dean was like, okay, you need to get another letter of
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't know.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_00]: Dan, think you're out like every other.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_00]: Also, you'll student.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: What about your English teacher at your fucking school?
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: That was not hate your guts.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: I was just like, sure.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's a shame you didn't think enough about the relationships you should have informed me so you could do this.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing like Chuck Bass laying on the grass, laying on the freaking quad at Yale in a full suit with a fedora fully laying down.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: Fully horizontal while Nate sits up next to him.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_00]: I got to say I loved his outfit this episode.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like genuinely this brown one not the fedora, but wait Chucks you know, maybe not this one.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: I like chucks the sweater with the nautical flags
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: but this is a crazy fit.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I forgot about it.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I lost my place.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I was trying my Instagram.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_00]: He sees Nate as like sitting with Chuck and there's like some class that walks by.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_00]: He may excite contact with Christopher Rodriguez, the Broadway icon.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_00]: She originated the role of Wednesday and the Adam's family.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: She was also in smash.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: Or she's also in, no, I'm thinking of,
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: Mendoz, Mendoz, from Don't Play, Mendoz.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, that's what I was thinking of.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: Not Mendoz, Seko.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well, there's definitely other Mendozs in the world.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but I know it's such a good thinking about.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so Nate goes up and follows her and they're gonna probably do it.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then Chuck gets kidnapped, which is exactly what he wanted because he's been waiting for the skull and bones to come get him.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: And wait, I'll be missed something here.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: Blair is now waiting for her interview.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, sorry.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: So, she's waiting for, and she hears this laughter coming out.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, first of all, we do need to note that the secretary is like obsessed with figurine glass.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: They're like stabbed by chire cats and dogs, if you know what those are.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: And she's dusting them with like, with like a vintage feather duster.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then Blair is sitting there and, and she, the secretary says, I haven't heard the dean laugh like that in years.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: And the new walk south of Serena Vanderwoods, and of course, and he just absolutely loves Serena and Blair has to go and after her and she she's so shaken up and you know it reminded me of this is what Jill on Rowney wanted to happen when she brought Simon to play tennis with Ramona Unfortunately, she picked someone who was the least charismatic person on the planet earth
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: that Ramona being like, I'm shocked.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: But then she like didn't act shocked.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, but they thought she was going to be able to play.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to run because I'm so bored.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's why play about, it's so boring.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we could play ours.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I'm not playing well.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's because I'm so freaking bored.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, she talks like a toddler located.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: She's crazy to me.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: She is awesome.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: But also her, like, then wanting to bring Simon into the building so badly and reminds him, like, or what is, like, hanging out in the lobby?
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: When I was like, no, I'm going to say, I'm going to agree whoever she brought to play with her.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're about like literally the perfect foil.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_00]: So funny.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm so.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: Then, uh,
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: Nate's talking to the girl, yes, to Jordan.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: And she's talking about all of her electives and classes and she's like, where are you from?
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then someone over here's that he's from St. Jude, and says, Duke, you know, Nate Archibald.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: His dad is a fucking crook.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: His dad has like fucked up a lot of their trust funds.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: So everybody there hates the captain.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: So Nate goes, oh, well, my name's Dan,
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: We couldn't just like made up a name.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_00]: No, truly.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like this is so stupid of you, but okay, but you know what not the sharpest tool in the shed.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: No, maybe he can't think of names on his feet, so Nate then goes and asked Jordan to like show him around and she says yes, and that's when he says that his name is Dan Humphrey
- 35:39[SPEAKER_00]: Meanwhile, Chuck has been kidnapped and we find out that, yes, the secret society got him like he wanted and they're like really impressed with him.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: So he's going to throw a private party that night to like kick things off and get things going at them.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then we go back to Blair's interview and I love that her, her like personal statement of the dean is reading, did you see what Blair's personal statement was titled on, on being Blair, on being Blair,
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: kind of Hannah Mary and Cody.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's so cute and like on the letter had like, and I'm just also sorry to get him for you know, who never would have showed up with less than probably three letters of rock, Blair.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: Blair.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: Blair has been asking people to write her letter of rock since she was eight.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like she's been planning on this.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, start thinking about her now.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: Start taking notes on me now because when I'm about 10 years, I'm really gonna need this.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, it's so cute.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then the doctor is like, this is all very impressive, but like tell me about you and like tell me like what you like to do for fun.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: The girl who was in here before you said last week she did a fashion show just for fun.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's what it was for, not for revenge.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, well, he's like, yeah, tell me something it's not in that packet and it took me back to when I was at the Performing Arts Project one summer in high school.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: And we're all doing auditions and it was like if you I might have told the story before if you were on deck for the audition you waited in the room and you were like watching the person in the corner.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_00]: So this guy who became my friend named Kai is standing there.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm in there and I like do my song do my monologue whatever.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then they're like okay, so like what do you like to do?
- 37:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like musical theater and they were like yeah, but like what else?
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like what else do you do for fun?
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: I do remember this story.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: I am like racking my brain and like I'm like
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of a fun question for a high school or honestly because I'm like really like a soul and then I go like crazy.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like I'm like in the musical theater boot camp every day pretty much.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_00]: So like that's what I do.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_00]: I do think about that.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like I was like in musical theater.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like percussion.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like a very similar type of goal until 10 p.m. every day.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: Every day.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: Every day I was like dancing, singing acting.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I was like trying to think of something to say and I was like, um, scrapbooking and they were like, wow, okay, and I was like, yeah, yeah, I love to do it.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_00]: They're like cool.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_00]: And I go to leave and as I'm leaving, Kai, the guy goes bullshit.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: As I'm walking out, I'm really not friends like the first day and I leave and he was happy.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, if you were a scrapbook today in your life, it was like, well, yeah, and he's like, but is it a hobby?
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: Not really, and he goes, yeah, I, as soon as you said it, I was like, she just made to pull that out of thin air.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: She had nothing to scrapbooking, and then I got cast in their thing.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_00]: And they were like, subscribe booking, huh?
- 38:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I didn't sell it one bit.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_00]: And even though like, I literally had scrapbooked, but nobody fucking believed me because it was so.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_00]: But it was not like, Blair is going through right now.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, well, I don't really like do anything other than like everything that is worth knowing.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't that pocket which like killed me to hear and then she says really what like broke my heart and I wrote it all down and she goes I'm aware that I lack some people's easy grace with strangers and I don't exactly make you feel like you've known me forever even though we just met
- 39:01[SPEAKER_00]: When I laugh, you might not smile at the co-cattish sound of it, and I may not be spontaneous or delightful, or full of surprises.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: And my hair might not sparkle when it catches the light.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_00]: And as she goes on, she goes, everything worth knowing about me is not folder.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_00]: I made sure of it.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: It like I'm sorry that hurt.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: It also makes me think not to keep bringing it back to Hannah, but it makes me think of Hannah when Ally comes back and Hannah dies her hair black and it's like, she changes how she dresses and starts drinking.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's like she just like always in Ally's shadow and I think Blair feels that way.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, totally, 100%.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: So Blair leaves the interview and it's like awkward.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: She's saying bye to him.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: It says him on the cheek.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, it's not even, it's not even like a natural, not that it's like a baby natural, but it's not even like it's like they like, she hugged him and like brush the kiss on his cheek, like fucking Brutus.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: Literally, it's not like, or what Judas.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: Did Brutus kiss, did Brutus kiss, Caesar?
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: No, so Judas betrayed Jesus.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: See, I do know that, but I don't think it's a
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: organize the killing of Caesar, and I think maybe stop him all the time and then he goes hey, too.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: I was confusing the stories because for some reason, I was like, just Buddhist give Caesar a kiss before he kills them and says, I will, yeah, which I'm happy to tell you more about some time a few words.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe that priest that I was going to hell.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to what I just said.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I mean, it wasn't like it was like a little like a a swift motion.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: It was like it was like, did it happen?
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: Did it not happen?
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: It was like Blair like wound herself up like a gateway and like packed like a wood pecker toy.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_00]: It was like a last ditch, a tent like maybe I was like a hail Mary's like, okay, how about this?
- 40:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like it was like she, she would have gone for the lips if he didn't turn his head.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: Literally imagine if she kissed one of the lips with tongue.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_00]: She joined during the heart rate channel.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I can't believe she was in a kiss like they do on Love Island, which by the way, why are they doing that?
- 41:16[SPEAKER_00]: Tongue out.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's not like not.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_00]: Is that how you guys are kissing?
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: No wonder Genzi's not having sex.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_00]: Big thing I keep hearing about Genzi is they're like, get away from me.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, yeah, no wonder you all kiss like this.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_00]: Tongue fully out.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, sounds horrible.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so Blair then goes outside and sees Serena.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like Yale is mine.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_00]: And this is
- 41:42[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why it does feel to me like Blair ultimately putting down that answer for Serena.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_00]: She knew there were no stakes for Serena.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: It was only about her name, Blair.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: Can I just rant about something with Instagram first?
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: I can, because I just got a notification that pissed me off.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: I schedule, I would put this order in at 1 p.m. so I could have a deliver between five and seven p.m. OK. Why did I just get an email saying, ah, we're running late.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: You've known about this order for now four hours.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, Dan, Humphrey, you had plenty of time to plan to get your second letter of rack.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, that doesn't quite make sense to me.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: You're running late.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's not an excuse.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: Get me my food.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: And by that I mean, like, Shopping hasn't started yet.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's not something like, it's one thing if my shopper is late.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that doesn't matter to me.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: But like, Instagram, why didn't you
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure I, whatever, I won't be getting an Instagram art sponsorship anytime soon if you will.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to make this right.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: Hey Instagram, that's you want to write your wrongs free groceries for a year.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: We're all yours.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: Serena then literally standing if we're in a Blair gets a call gets invited to the gathering at the Jeans house.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: And she looks at Blair and says this was tough.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_00]: You might want to make other plans she said I was her last call.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_00]: Well, no, not before Blair says this to her, which I think is, again, this scene is very crucial for me and my defense of Blair, because then Syrian Blair goes of all the things, Nate, my mom, the girls at school, you wouldn't take this from me, because I will take you down, and Serena says, I'd love to see you dry and walk so I, what did you think was going to happen?
- 43:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't even know, it is like imagine how her player is like, yeah, like when you put it that way, look at all the shits around us on and player keeps taking her back.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_00]: I would have.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_00]: Expected physical blows before what Blair says really yeah psychological warfare so much more You know refining falls and packed full sometimes.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think for me But I certainly if I had to go there to physical blows who would but I would definitely try to stay in the verbal and You know psychological realm is long and I could because I think if you're good at what you do Yeah, you can pretty much invoke a little bottoming
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: a prescribed a lot of me for someone who we fuck okay we go to water designs and a roofest is coming to what were you gonna say no no no no I wasn't I thought you were going to say to me okay well let's keep going and I was like okay and then you were like we're going to water designs and then I realized that I said okay as though like you were like okay you're like okay you're on we're going to water designs it was like okay let's go
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, Rufus is shadowing Jenny today and Jenny then like goes to step away and Jenny goes up or Rufus goes up to Eleanor and I'm like, okay, do what are they're understanding of each other because Eleanor knows shit about Rufus now nope.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_00]: I know I'm baffled by it and I think Eleanor took the words out of my mouth and she goes, what does it take your father to work day?
- 45:00[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, yeah, is everyone like cool with him being here?
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, imagine if I just like decided to start bringing my dad into the office.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's just like walking around and like these people are busy.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like this isn't the type of work where you can walk around and like observe.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_00]: You have to like be seated in a corner and don't touch anything.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 45:20[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so he says to Eleanor that he wants her to fire Jenny, which is like, hey, dude, chill.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's a little evil.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_00]: And she goes, I will not.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_00]: I will do no such thing.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: And she says to him, which like, hearing someone like Eleanor say this, I think, has got to hold a lot of weight.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_00]: She says to him, this is Jenny's moment.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: Do you remember the dreams you had when you were 15?
- 45:44[SPEAKER_00]: What if they all started to come true?
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: Would you have told
- 45:49[SPEAKER_00]: So, back to Yale.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_00]: Bruvian sister walking down the quad.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: Chuck and Diana.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_00]: And Chuck's like, you're going to the Dean's party What's your answer to his question?
- 46:06[SPEAKER_00]: And so he's like, what question?
- 46:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, fuck you.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, again.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't care.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even know about the question.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: And Chuck says, oh, where are you?
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, don't worry.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: Just steal Blair's.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: And well, first of all, Serena suddenly has a backbone.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_00]: The question is, well, person living her dad, would you like to have dinner with?
- 46:24[SPEAKER_00]: No, Serena, or maybe this is what I'm saying, though, because earlier in the day, too, Serena says to her, I'm telling you, I will not take you out from Blair.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: I know where you got this.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: And now she's doing it again.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_01]: But she's going to, she always does this.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: But I will say is Serena,
- 46:39[SPEAKER_01]: you should be able to come up with an answer for this on your own.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, how about you just literally think of someone, how about this?
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: The question is, what person living her dad would you like to have dinner with?
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: Just think of someone living her dad that you would like to have dinner with and why?
- 46:52[SPEAKER_00]: Easy, they want to get to know you.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: They actually, it's true because it's also like what your answer is because also what's interesting is like she's so good in her interview earlier.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: She is a good natural conversation list and you think she'd be able to think of something like that and then they pontificate at the party and make everyone laugh.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: literally should be able to do it's not I feel like so much of this interview process it seems it's also it's more like it almost feels like these people have earned their spot intellectually here already and now this is where they prove that they can they play ball like they can like total talk to people and they are charismatic and they are well-rounded and divisions so they're trying to like host it's not hosting
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: Or whatever where they're all like so needs to come in and say like Thomas Edison because he was like He made balance in this way and like this specific equation like it's not he's not looking for you to Be super super smart.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think he probably is still, but did I get that word right symposium?
- 47:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, God, I'm good.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, pulled that out of no, but I mean they don't mean like you can't tell the door means
- 47:54[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's like a, it's a, I know I've been to this symposium before.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a collection of people making little presentations.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's an academic or professional meeting where experts gather to discuss a specific topic.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I want to try to have that.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's trying to have that, and, and anyway, I only thought of it because there's some piece of writing I had to recall it's symposium.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_00]: Sapai, Aristotle.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember, but I'm gonna find out.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: All I mean is, it's not that she can have a dumb answer.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: I just mean she doesn't need to have like a, it doesn't need to be some,
- 48:35[SPEAKER_01]: As long as the answer is well-rounded, thoughtful.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, present, as carries out.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: Just like, that's the thing, like, just bullshit at girl.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's your whole thing.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: Speak yourself.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's your, yeah, it is your whole thing.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, literally just like, say something and then like, explain it and also, all you have to do, really is intrigue him or somebody enough to have a follow-up question and then you're pretty much guaranteed to have like more conversations with that.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 48:57[SPEAKER_00]: You just have to intrigue them.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, he tells Chuck tells Serena Blair's answer, which is George Saun, which is like this writer.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_00]: And Vina is so funny though, Serena's like, God, I should have just given my invitation to Blair.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes, you got invited and Blair didn't, you're lucky to be alive.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_00]: What's it again?
- 49:20[SPEAKER_00]: Serena.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: Could you not have seen this coming?
- 49:24[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you shouldn't have done what you did.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: You're lucky enough to be alive.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_00]: Why are you pushing your luck?
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know?
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, Nathan, Christopher Rodrigues, we're hooking up and they're like, I'm crazier than you.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm crazier than you.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they're doing.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_01]: And she is then like, as they're making out, she's like, wait, let's talk about, wait, before I go to second base, what do you think of Marquez?
- 49:48[SPEAKER_00]: She's talking about Gabrielle, Gabrielle Garcia Marquez.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_00]: or someone else, do you think?
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have a clue when you're just talking about.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: I did like Nate's answer to her second question when she thinks it would look, and she's like, what about this guy?
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's like painful.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm serious.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm serious.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't get through it called Colora, which is so like, I think she thinks that his answer painful is about Colora.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: like, but then he elaborates and it's a love or answer.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought it was good.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's like also, and it's honest.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I tried to read, I've gotten good and she's like, okay, that I can respect whatever.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's a knock at the door, and she goes to get it.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_00]: And it's, and this is crazy too.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's Stan Humphrey.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, hi, I heard you with it.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, chair of the student English, I don't know, something in the English department.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I need somebody to read my work and write me a letter of rec.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like, are you coming to this
- 50:41[SPEAKER_00]: to write you a letter of rec.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's weird as fuck.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know her.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_01]: You'll literally know it's so weird.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then Dan sees name.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, Nate.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, mmm, that's a San Humphrey.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then he's like, Dan Humphrey is like, wait, wait, wait.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Dan Humphrey.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: Hang on a minute.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_00]: There's only one, Dan Humphrey.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm right here.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's right here.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_00]: Don't do it.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_00]: And he needs a letter of rec.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then she finds out that
- 51:08[SPEAKER_00]: Dan, Dan and Naked kicked out and as they're leaving, they'd like, oh, like, she threw my clothes at me.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: And she threw a book at me.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_00]: And Dan goes, yeah, Faulkner, looks like a first-to-dox edition.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_00]: Not that you're not the you would know.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, he goes, not that you'd know.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: This hand, you didn't even look at you on.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_00]: Do it again, not that you, you only doesn't know.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_00]: Not that you'd know, it's just so funny to me.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, Dan's like, don't pretend to be me.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_00]: There's, I am one of one dude to not even try it.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't, if you tried.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_00]: And Nate says the thing that I've been wanting to know is do you ever get tired of carrying the chip on your shoulder?
- 51:51[SPEAKER_01]: No wonder Serena broke up with you.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't want to get whack in the game.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's true, like Dan, do you ever get exhaustive of having to do this performative?
- 52:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like, what was me, poor me, act?
- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's so second nature, it's like breathing to him.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: He probably doesn't even notice he does it.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_00]: What does that's we're saying about Allison?
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: Lying was her oxygen.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_01]: She could do it while taking a sip of a drink.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: She could even do it while kissing you.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_01]: Is this an exact quote?
- 52:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's like the first line of his book.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, hey, I want to have a tattoo in my back.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_00]: Just get him here as I can read it verbato.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let me just let me just...
- 52:35[SPEAKER_00]: I have a tattoo to my wrist.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, it's where she knows it's all happening.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: You have the first line of us, remember this book.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, it's all happening.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's still one of the greatest.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's how two artists should have a Nobel Peace Prize.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_00]: I hope it was the same one who did Katie's cheater print that to.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: I... Katie, like, I still to this day.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: Just...
- 53:02[SPEAKER_01]: Was it when did you dream of it being asleep?
- 53:06[SPEAKER_00]: Why does it look like, why is it like made into your skin?
- 53:09[SPEAKER_00]: Is this supposed to be like, no, this is my true skin.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_00]: We are one.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_00]: I am a cheetah.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_00]: I am a cheetah.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like a weird, like, how did you choose the placement to be like, right?
- 53:18[SPEAKER_00]: And it has to just sharp cut off.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_00]: And then it's like, like, I know.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's like not the full risk either.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, what?
- 53:24[SPEAKER_00]: it's such a mystery.
- 53:25[SPEAKER_01]: I need to say if I could get dinner with one person dead or alive, it would be Katie Maloney and that would be my one question.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the one thing I want to know once I get the answer out of you and you're playing the bill.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I actually ordered 20 goat cheese balls orders to go so I can freeze them But you got that's right, but that's okay.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_00]: I feel awkward now.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna go wait in the back for my take-out But you should I want to I want to go no take a place.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go take a few pictures in the back.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh And then actually if you want to come take them for me, you probably have the good angles
- 54:02[SPEAKER_00]: I, that made me think of the TikTok I saw earlier.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_00]: It was a picture of Kristen Dodie, and it was like, does she ever get better, like, just do whatever, like, learn to like her.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_00]: And the comments are like, she doesn't change, but you do.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_01]: I know, I've got my strength, it's like, it's not too hard.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's so true.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's she doesn't change.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: But you do, because you start to understand her.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_01]: You start to say eventually, she becomes your Mary Pose, I just wait.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: The commons are so funny and the value right now is she is no, I mean, I
- 54:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, and we're we're on the same page with that.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so perfect.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_00]: Back at the Yale office, the Dean's office, Blair approaches Shirley, the woman with all the Staffordshire cats and dogs.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, hey, got me a fucking invite to that dinner and Shirley's like, I can't.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_00]: And she says, check her email.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_00]: And the Shirley opens her email.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a link to this gorgeous, 18th century pair of Staffordshire cats.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_01]: And it's almost a scene from
- 55:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, uh, with Alice and Janey, yes, it really is, cat, cat, we out by end.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, cat.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_00]: Um,
- 55:16[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, Bobby Ridgeway's testicle retrieval operation went quite well.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_00]: Case you're wondering.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_00]: I still maintain that he kicked himself in the balls.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_00]: Cat.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_00]: Cat.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_00]: That is improv, by the way.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_00]: What she didn't want she does that.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 55:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you got so good to know.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't right.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_00]: I love improv lore.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I love when you find out those little moments, like, isn't it?
- 55:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy improv.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_00]: I love my job.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_00]: I love my job.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_00]: I love my job.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_00]: May the purchase.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_00]: I burn light the way.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_01]: So that is good.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, Tuffy had a quote on offer.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought I'd take the current in amber about where she says, okay, if we're going to be fair, my least favorite effort.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, that is good one.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_00]: Amen and love.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about Blair and Serena right now, because I think frankly, it's fair.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_00]: Just kidding.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so Blair does get this in the night.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so then we go back to the Atelier and Rufus tells Jenny that he was very impressed with her work ethic, but as a girl you're fisting.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, you're alive at you.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_00]: literally.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_00]: So Ellen, I know, in order not not sway him.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_00]: And so she's like, okay, but can you take me to do one more errand?
- 56:35[SPEAKER_00]: So let me go to the Dean's party and vitamin string courts hat is playing.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_00]: What is a song?
- 56:40[SPEAKER_00]: Not time is running out by muse.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I didn't catch it.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't catch it.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_01]: But it works out perfectly because this is going to be off a better call and so it works out better because Serena thinks Serena thinks she's about to win.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, well, and it was good because I'm really glad Serena told her that before Blair wrote it because I don't know the Blair would have done that.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think she would have written it for herself, but
- 57:22[SPEAKER_00]: Serena says it right now.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I, by the way, like, I'm writing your answer down and fuck you.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_00]: And that's like also again.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_00]: So all players has to her as Serena, I get what I want.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to win tonight.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_00]: And Serena goes, well, I'm writing down your answers.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I, and by the way, it's an alphabetical order, which I think is great.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to go first.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_00]: And then she walks away on my case, Serena rookie mistake.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_00]: Not that player didn't know that, but rookie mistake.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_00]: So Chuck Sewing is party.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's got two women for each man.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, yeah, this isn't enough to prove your loyalty.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_00]: We want a archer ball.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_00]: We want to take him down.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_00]: We fucking hate him.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_00]: So Chuck calls Nate, Nate wants to leave because he's not how to get nice.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: And so Chuck's like, well, let's just meet up and get blazed.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_00]: And Nate suggests Mike's bar.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so we think that Chuck is gonna send the guys there to go get Nate.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_00]: Um, wait, Blair has such a, Nate, or sorry, then I'm just going to go through that because we go back to the thing, but um, Dan Humphrey ends up getting kidnapped by the guys not Nate.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_00]: But back to the dinner, Blair says to Serena, well, I obviously have a backup answer, and it's gonna kill.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_00]: No, wait, Jesus, that is the, and it's gonna kill.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's so funny.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_00]: And it comes out as Serena's being such a bitch.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I can't wait to see her face when I say your answer.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like, hey, bitch, watch it.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_00]: You're so lucky you're on the field hockey field.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, she's about to be basically, yeah, but we can't see what we can't see is that Blair actually has her field hockey uniform on under her dress.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: Serena notably does not because we can see what's under her dress.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, she's wearing it because she looks slutty.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: She does.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: She looks slutty.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_01]: And she was also had her cleavage out on campus.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_00]: She's wearing like a bandage dress with cutouts in the back and it's extremely nice.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_00]: And the sides like all the way up to girls.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like actually chill.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_01]: And she also like further, I mean, I'm watching me watching through and get dressed.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_00]: Serena, chill, chill, girl, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill, chill
- 59:33[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, guys, my answer for the world.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_00]: See you again, Ross.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_00]: See you next week.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_00]: See you next week.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_00]: Singing again.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, just that one.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_00]: Just that one.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_00]: Just that one.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Frost, Nippin' Nippin' Nippin' Nippin'
- 59:49[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Frost.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_01]: I love when she starts to do her little, like, her little, like, horses.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Frost.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_01]: Nippin' at your no-ho.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that's right.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_01]: My answer for who I would have dinner with might be Alan coming.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's just saying that.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_00]: I mean,
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_01]: That is, well, I mean, it's living her dead, so I can't put him.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we would talk about cabaret so fucking much.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_01]: Caroline is being somewhat being one of the clowns on the traitors.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_01]: She's being one of the little clowns that come out in the same Dad The Great Sid Vicious I talk about Alan coming right now.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm too excited for the new season of traitors.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_01]: I know me too I'm curious Anyway
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_01]: But what I'm worried about is a big brother Loki right now.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_01]: Really?
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so excited for it too.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_00]: You're more excited for Big Brother than traders?
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: Phoebe.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_00]: C'mon.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_00]: Crazy to say.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_00]: This is a video podcast.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't do anything with my face.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing written on my face.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_01]: oh my god you okay can't help you if you're not but imagine imagine this is a video about you guys do not die but you're recording the podcast I have a coffee to talk about but you slowly see me like pass out you just hang up you just hang up don't call anyone
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_00]: You're like, well, I'm not scared.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_00]: I know she has an Instagram order coming later.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_00]: So someone's going to be by, hopefully they're on time.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just like, I just can't really concern myself with that right now.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't get up.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_01]: OK, cos I'm more charged tonight.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I can't worry about this.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm worried about this.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, you're texting, you're texting.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_01]: See, when is the episode going to be up?
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_00]: Phoebe, are you serious?
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so the dean reads Serena's answer and it's Pete.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, I do just want to say that the girl before Serena says her answer and it ends with and she totally just sticks it to the man and the look on the dean's face is like
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_01]: this woke mother fuckers.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_00]: He's like anywhere near my school.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's centered around my campus.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_00]: Is that a brown?
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_00]: She can go be a vegan whatever she does.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_00]: Anemic and proud.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_00]: So he says Pete Fairman, he's like, I'm afraid I don't know this person.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's the other thing.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_00]: You could just easily make up a name of someone that he's not going to know and then like make up a reason for it.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_00]: Blair would not have done that.
- 1:02:57[SPEAKER_00]: Let it that happen.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, but Serena could have done that.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think it would have like for as an again, I know I come across as a Serena to find her, but I do just think there's something to be said for like, she as charismatic as she is.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_01]: I do think just hearing that name in a setting that you're not prepared for and you're not all you're not prepared for, but you're prepared to be smug when you hear this name.
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes, that's exactly the, and exactly the, that's why we're hard to, to think on your feet.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_00]: When I said that earlier, no, no, I meant like, no, no, no, I just meant it's for Serena if she had to pick a name for an actual answer if she was going to do the work.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_00]: Just pick and you have someone that you know the Dean's not going to know and just make up an answer that way.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like, that's not going to prove.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, no, no, no.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_00]: This was completely intentional, obviously.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I, I mean, yeah, Blair was like, I have to choose someone that is going to throw her off her game a little bit.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_00]: And this is what it will be.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_00]: And Blair goes, oh, he's the man she killed.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_00]: Girl.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_00]: And in series like, well,
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_00]: He did die, but I was not responsible for him there, because Emma, you were responsible for the sex tape, wasn't very sexy.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and then, Serena likes her to yanking Blair out of the room there, because, by the way, my answer is yours, son.
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_00]: Love her.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_00]: Devoted early whenever she's out there, and she's out there.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_00]: And she says to Serena, get your head off me or you're trying to kill me, too.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_01]: Are you trying to kill me, too?
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, she talks.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_01]: get your hands on me already kill me too.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_01]: And so then they so they got then they're sorting it out outside and then right there boarding it out.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_01]: As a good actually I would just reenact those three and it goes to walk back in right and Blair throws her purse at the back of Serena's head.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yep
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_01]: Bulls Eye.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how we're going to find her while you're invited.
- 1:04:54[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all needs to up their Q rating and you've been on the stage.
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_01]: And it tears off her dress.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_01]: And we see that she's been in her field hockey.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_01]: There it is.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_01]: Hold time.
- 1:05:03[SPEAKER_00]: And she says, Cadi is Hazel and they all show up and they give her the her field hockey stick.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_00]: And they just beat during the to death.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the end of the episode.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_00]: That's the end of the show.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_00]: crazy, just kidding.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_00]: But they end to a physical fight.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, of course.
- 1:05:20[SPEAKER_00]: And Blair, and Serena is like ripping out her head.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a fucking advance.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's funny.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_01]: Is Amy Adams and Fight Club.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, it's there's a scene of a Boston movie that I've watched with dad, where at least there's a cat fight between Amy Adams and this other girl and they all have thick Boston accents and they're on the front porch of a house on the house and pulling hair and dad goes, this is what it was like in Dorchester every, every weekend.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_00]: always a cat, a cat fight.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_00]: This is, he's a B, B, come watch this.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: This is exactly what it was like in Dorchester.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_00]: That is so funny.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_01]: Always a cat fight.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_01]: I can't find it.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_01]: I give what movie it was.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_01]: I want to say fight club, but I don't know if that's a Boston movie, but I do think Brad Pitt or Matt Damon is in it.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good bet.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_00]: That is a pretty good bet.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have to ask him.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so we're at the penthouse, the Vanderwoods and penthouse.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_00]: Lily is trying on the dress that was intended for Serena and Jenny and Rufus walk in.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_00]: And this is the third question that's asked us up so that I've been waiting for, because Rufus says, is it okay for us?
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_00]: It just be walking in here.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, is it?
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_00]: Certainly the main new Jenny was coming.
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_01]: And Jenny has freaking hoodwinked her father.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_01]: Because she like, at first, you walk in.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, does Rufus know as Rufus, first something is as Rufus been here before.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_01]: But I can't believe him, but I've never been there before.
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like he has.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_01]: I do do.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_01]: And if he says, but he might have had to tell the male.
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_01]: He checks the male and he goes, shit.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_01]: like who's apartment is this.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_01]: It does strike me as weird that he didn't know like I have a hard time believing it.
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_00]: I really believe because I don't also like Jenny didn't tell like I don't what Jenny must have just said it was a client's house.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:07:09[SPEAKER_01]: And Jenny said that Lily wasn't there but then Lily of course is there and comes out in that slutty little dress.
- 1:07:15[SPEAKER_01]: And we visit like a hobo hobo.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the cartoon with the art.
- 1:07:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yes absolutely.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_00]: And Jenny's like, you look amazing, but I need to pick you out of better pair of shoes and so Lily sends her up to her closet.
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_00]: And this is like a sweet, one of the things I love so much about Lily is how much hernals she is to kids that also are her own.
- 1:07:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like Chuck and like Jenny.
- 1:07:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like Lily sends in there for them throughout the show is really great.
- 1:07:36[SPEAKER_01]: she's more there for them.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_01]: She's more maternal to kids that aren't her own.
- 1:07:40[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's true, honestly.
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's me.
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 1:07:44[SPEAKER_00]: We should dive into that sometime.
- 1:07:46[SPEAKER_00]: So she's like, oh, it's so great.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm, you know, I'm so happy that Jenny's found what she loves and that she's so good at it.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_00]: And Rufus is like, you're wearing a great dress and we find out Jenny made it.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_00]: And so this is going to, of course, Lily speaking to Rufus is going to just make him rethink everything.
- 1:08:03[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, and so she's like she has passion and he sees a new side of Jenny when she comes down with a new pair of shoes and it's like considering So we go to the bar that Nate went to and he's waiting for Chuck and all these guys come in literally like the huntsman and beauty in the beast They're coming to fight
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_01]: Nate Archibald in here, and then they realized that that's Nate because they realized they've been hoodwinked.
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_00]: No, they come in and they're just bragging about what they just did.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_00]: They come in and they're like, I can't believe we fucking got him.
- 1:08:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like we got Nate Archibald, like we did that, and then Nate turns around and he's like, I made Archibald.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, what?
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how, like, I see it figures it out.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_00]: And he goes, I'm going to come here next to you.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_00]: You're I'm going to kick your ass.
- 1:08:47[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, why wait?
- 1:08:48[SPEAKER_00]: And they brawl.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_00]: They have a bar roll.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_00]: So Dan, we see he has like stripped down his box first, hide up to a gazebo.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I just say something about boxers.
- 1:08:57[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_01]: One hour, they're comfortable.
- 1:08:59[SPEAKER_01]: Two, however, they functional three.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_01]: How do I not see men wearing them through their pants?
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_01]: Think about it all the time.
- 1:09:06[SPEAKER_00]: They're so thick and big.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think more men than we think are wearing briefs.
- 1:09:10[SPEAKER_00]: Because most of our boxers, we are seeing them.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_01]: They're just, their pants are so low.
- 1:09:15[SPEAKER_01]: I just can't imagine not.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_01]: I just feel you'd have to do briefs.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think so too.
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_01]: It would be so uncomfortable.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's a very special thing that I'm much worried about.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_00]: I've lightheaded right now.
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's keep going.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yep, let's just go through.
- 1:09:30[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, Nate finds Dan helps him out, but he can't untie it either.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then Jordan, the girl walks up.
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_00]: She goes, my mom is in the Navy.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like, okay, well, my dad was a marine and I don't know.
- 1:09:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_01]: You weren't, so you weren't in the Navy.
- 1:09:45[SPEAKER_00]: So you were your mom was, but you weren't, okay, great.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_00]: And she unties him.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_00]: And we go back to the porch and Serena Blair cleaning up and they're going to call a ceasefire basically because they're sick of it.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_00]: And Blair, she goes and sick of always looking like Darth Vader next to Sunshine Barbie, lives too short, but you make it feel so long.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then Serena is like, oh, then maybe we should and be friends.
- 1:10:08[SPEAKER_00]: And they agree.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 1:10:11[SPEAKER_01]: So Jenny comes out of a room and sees, Oh, Rufus and Vanessa here in the morning alone.
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_00]: Vanessa, you just, Vanessa, I noticed the door still locked from the inside.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_00]: Did you sleep in?
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_00]: And Dan and Dan, where did you come from?
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's closed.
- 1:10:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, that's interesting.
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, huh, interesting.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_00]: You're already here.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_00]: And this breakfast was not made by one person, but okay.
- 1:10:32[SPEAKER_00]: Or four one person.
- 1:10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 1:10:35[SPEAKER_00]: So Roop is actually, you find out whether or not it's an excuse and not sure, but he asked Vanessa to bring over the homeschooling info.
- 1:10:41[SPEAKER_00]: And after Christmas, they're going to re-evaluate for joining you.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_00]: And so, Marina.
- 1:10:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_01]: is going to, the Blair is going to the admissions office and runs into Sierra Serena on her way out.
- 1:10:57[SPEAKER_01]: Blair already went.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Serena is coming to tell the dean.
- 1:11:01[SPEAKER_00]: I just like to know that Blair already did it, that Blair did it first.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_00]: Blair went into the dean's office to say, you should let Serena have the spot and then Serena meets her on her way into do it.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_01]: And Serena, yes, Serena wanted to say that Yale was Blair's dream and she deserves to go
- 1:11:20[SPEAKER_01]: And then Serena and Blair reminisce on the first time they ever went to Yale.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_01]: They were there with Blair's dad for the Harvard Yale game and Blair apparently tackled a young girl for wearing a Harvard sweatshirt and then Blair goes, but those are crass things never came out.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_00]: And so then Blair looks at three men.
- 1:11:41[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I don't want to not know you.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_00]: I can't not know you.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_00]: And Serena suggests that maybe they were fighting because they're stressed out because they know next year.
- 1:11:48[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to be as close and that's really scary.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_00]: So Blair waits for Serena.
- 1:11:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to ride back home together.
- 1:11:53[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that what Serena said there.
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's not an excuse for either their behavior.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think that's a bit of like.
- 1:12:02[SPEAKER_01]: interest, like an observation, I feel like it's a mature observation to make to look for the reasoning behind both of their behaviors because it's usually in subconscious.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and like kids usually can't see.
- 1:12:12[SPEAKER_01]: And it also, again, I'm not trying to give Serena more credit, but like, and I'm, because I typically am team Blair, but I feel like we get more moments to empathize with Blair than when we get with Serena.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_01]: Because Serena is just like party girl all the time.
- 1:12:25[SPEAKER_01]: But it does show that Serena went home and reflected a little bit on everything that happened.
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_01]: It came to that conclusion.
- 1:12:33[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 1:12:34[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it is like it's easier if we just get in a fight than we don't have to have.
- 1:12:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like we don't have to do with the pain of slowly growing apart.
- 1:12:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's like we can just make it quick and like pretend this big thing happened and like somehow that's going to be easier.
- 1:12:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:12:48[SPEAKER_00]: So, Jordan Nade and Dan are walking.
- 1:12:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, okay, did we have a three-some last night?
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_00]: Or literally?
- 1:12:54[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 1:12:54[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on?
- 1:12:54[SPEAKER_01]: And if they did, Dan, that means that you're like really into three-sums.
- 1:12:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:12:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's like you're, and you're only gonna get more into them, by the way.
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I mean.
- 1:13:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 1:13:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I thought you meant, was like, frankly, that makes sense for him, but Jordan's gonna help Dan get our recommendation.
- 1:13:11[SPEAKER_00]: Nade apologizes for lying in the kiss, so if you like, maybe we'll see her again.
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then Chuck is leaving and he gets stopped by the skull and bones and they're like, hey, you really fucked up.
- 1:13:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we're going to make your life hell and Chuck's like I'm not fucking coming to the school and by the way, all of my girls last night are both wearing can't, where they were all wearing cameras and so I have all these pictures of you in compromising positions.
- 1:13:30[SPEAKER_00]: And the guys like take the pictures he's like take them, I've got copies.
- 1:13:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's got flash drives and like, why did you do that?
- 1:13:35[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it was a point at that.
- 1:13:36[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like part of it, but I had a control of Chuck Bass and I own you.
- 1:13:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think part of it, and I don't know if he said this, so maybe I made it just like right between the lines really made up something that isn't said, but I feel like he's still a minor.
- 1:13:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:13:49[SPEAKER_01]: So if they were like having him do sexually explicit things, it's like now they have CP.
- 1:13:57[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_00]: So that's blackmail.
- 1:14:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes.
- 1:14:00[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's definitely blackmail, but I'm like,
- 1:14:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that Chuck was being made to do anything he hosted the party.
- 1:14:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's just like, I'm blackmailing you because like you basically were with hookers.
- 1:14:13[SPEAKER_00]: I guess so.
- 1:14:14[SPEAKER_01]: Charles N. Joe.
- 1:14:16[SPEAKER_00]: Handsome.
- 1:14:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what that was.
- 1:14:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, handsome.
- 1:14:22[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, I'm heading on my dog.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, guys, I walked a golden retriever yesterday.
- 1:14:26[SPEAKER_01]: Who was getting like the, like the little, I walked him like once or twice a couple years ago, and he was like still kind of young.
- 1:14:33[SPEAKER_01]: And now I just, this first time I've seen him in a while, and he like couldn't jump.
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like he used to jump on you and you'd open the door and he's got like the white No, it's so sad.
- 1:14:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's so sad, dude.
- 1:14:44[SPEAKER_00]: Stop.
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I can't.
- 1:14:46[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so Nate's waiting for Chuck now and Nate like things that Chuck tried to get him cooked but no Chuck explains I did it to Dan which actually makes Nate more mad and he's like that wasn't cool.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think Dan's pretty cool and I'm gonna take the train with him.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_00]: And then we have Blair and Serena, they say proper goodbye to Yale, and of course, the Dean calls Serena and Serena, like puts the phone up to both their ears, big mistake.
- 1:15:10[SPEAKER_00]: You should have definitely heard what the phone call was about before you did that.
- 1:15:13[SPEAKER_00]: And the Dean's like, guys, don't want you to come, like, and we see the Dean has articles of Serena, like, all over his desk, so as Blair is right, they are trying to up their cuescore.
- 1:15:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so she's like, you know, like, we want you to come, you should definitely check in December for early acceptance and she's like, well, what about Blair and they go up and she'll find out and spring with everybody else and then he asks if they can issue a press release about her visiting campus.
- 1:15:37[SPEAKER_00]: I do have to say, I don't really understand.
- 1:15:39[SPEAKER_01]: I get like what Blair is saying, but if I put myself in the position of Yale and like the shit that Serena does and is in the news for like isn't really.
- 1:15:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:15:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:15:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:15:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:15:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:15:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:15:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:16:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:16:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:16:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:16:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want to release a press for these about her family.
- 1:16:06[UNKNOWN]: I don't
- 1:16:07[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they would about like a celebrity's kid, you know what I mean?
- 1:16:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like maybe, yeah.
- 1:16:13[SPEAKER_01]: But if they were in the news for the shit Serena's in the news?
- 1:16:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's the thing.
- 1:16:17[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 1:16:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:16:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's very weird.
- 1:16:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's very weird.
- 1:16:20[SPEAKER_00]: And so Blair is encouraging Serena to accept it, but Serena doesn't want to.
- 1:16:24[SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, we're going to find a way to share this.
- 1:16:25[SPEAKER_00]: I promise you.
- 1:16:28[SPEAKER_01]: And that's really it, like Chuck and Manhattan Willie is still enjoying that sluddy little dress.
- 1:16:36[SPEAKER_00]: Jenny is working.
- 1:16:38[SPEAKER_01]: Chuck is walking walking walking in the street.
- 1:16:40[SPEAKER_00]: Chuck does low key.
- 1:16:41[SPEAKER_00]: How'd like a tear in his eye?
- 1:16:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he sat about it.
- 1:16:44[SPEAKER_01]: Did you notice that?
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I don't think I noticed a tear, but maybe a figurative tear.
- 1:16:49[SPEAKER_00]: It low key looked a little bit like he was about to cry.
- 1:16:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:16:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then we see Blair like getting sad in the car because she knows she fucking blew it.
- 1:16:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I am like at the end of the day, it's arena still fuck you because now you guys are making up, but like still fuck you because you did blow this for Blair that's doing all that.
- 1:17:05[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's fair anyway, you on the synopsis or am I I don't know, but I can do it.
- 1:17:12[SPEAKER_00]: All right, next week is season two episode seven, Chuck in real life, and it says Blair seeks to revenge by enticing Chuck to seduce Vanessa Serena Rebells at a party of Lily's Dan and Jenny find out a secret Nate has been hiding.
- 1:17:28[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, Chuck's seducing Vanessa, I can't wait, they did it in real life.
- 1:17:33[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa, hmm, probably a while, I think, fascinating.
- 1:17:38[SPEAKER_00]: I know, fascinating.
- 1:17:39[SPEAKER_00]: I also didn't know that Penn Badgely dated Zoe Kravitz, but I didn't know that either.
- 1:17:44[SPEAKER_00]: And he had like a hilarious quote about their relationship.
- 1:17:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was like way back when, and it's such an area quote.
- 1:17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, Ari is gonna go up the skin of the killer right now, and it's so much more annoying than I remembered.
- 1:18:04[SPEAKER_01]: That was some of our best lore.
- 1:18:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be a killer.
- 1:18:08[SPEAKER_01]: God, that's Serena Havitt or no?
- 1:18:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what's so up in the air.
- 1:18:14[SPEAKER_00]: She is the glisten of a killer.
- 1:18:15[SPEAKER_00]: Is that an April 2013 falling madly in love in a way that is changing me and opening me up?
- 1:18:23[SPEAKER_00]: We have a real true earth-shattering love about heavens and the way rabbits.
- 1:18:31[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:18:32[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, and he said, I'm grateful for gossip girl for putting me in New York so I could meet her.
- 1:18:36[SPEAKER_00]: I bet this was after he dated Blake Lively.
- 1:18:39[SPEAKER_00]: Well, saying all that, crazy.
- 1:18:42[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, all right, oh my god, I just had him.
- 1:18:45[SPEAKER_00]: I went where I looked at the stop button and I thought I said record.
- 1:18:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I was doing do die, but it's all good you guys.
- 1:18:51[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for listening reminder.

- 1:19:06[SPEAKER_00]: What else?
- 1:19:06[SPEAKER_00]: The valley.
- 1:19:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm missing anything for this.
- 1:19:09[SPEAKER_00]: This week's sick a lighter week.
