- 0:37Livin' her life for Christ She's a happy girl,
- 0:48She's a happy girl.
- 1:01She's a happy girl In a world where love is hard to find, we must cling to the
- 1:06truth that God's love never fails, doesn't run out, and will always be with us.
- 1:12He never leaves us or forsakes us, and His love is unconditional.
- 1:16You can't earn it, and you can't lose it. God's love is faithful and true.
- 1:21Join us in this podcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim takes us on a
- 1:26journey through the scriptures and allows God's word to reveal his marvelous.
- 1:31Matchless love to each of us.
- 1:34Thank you all for joining us as we study the book of Romans.
- 1:39Well, just a section out of the book of Romans in Romans 8, 38 and 39 is our
- 1:44key verses, but I want to back up to Romans chapter 8, verse 35.
- 1:49It says, who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
- 1:53Shall tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword.
- 2:01As it is written, for thy sake, we are killed all the day long.
- 2:05We are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
- 2:08Nay, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
- 2:12For I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities
- 2:17nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor heights nor depth nor any
- 2:23other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
- 2:26which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- 2:29I absolutely love this verse, and I think all of us need to be reminded from
- 2:35time to time how much we're loved.
- 2:38We need to be reminded of God's love is not only abounding in us,
- 2:46but it is surrounding us, and it never ceases.
- 2:50And I'm often asked, well, how can you tell me that God's love is for all when people go to hell?
- 2:59And I can answer that clearly.
- 3:01He says that he wishes that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
- 3:07God loves us even though we reject him. And in order for a person to be saved
- 3:13and spared hell and receive that free gift of salvation, they have to believe
- 3:19in the only begotten son of Jesus Christ.
- 3:22And so no one is sent to hell and everyone is given the opportunity to receive
- 3:31the grace and the mercy required through the blood of Jesus Christ to escape hell.
- 3:38And so anyone that ends up in hell is because of their own choice,
- 3:43their own choosing, because they have chosen to reject Jesus Christ.
- 3:49And we're told here that nothing separates it.
- 3:53So even those who have rejected him to the point of no return,
- 3:58where they are passed from death into eternity, he still loves.
- 4:05And it must grieve his heart to know that everything he did and all the love
- 4:12that he demonstrated, they chose not to receive.
- 4:17And they ignored him and rejected him. And I believe as Christians,
- 4:22we need to be very aware of the salvation plan Christ has is for everyone.
- 4:30Even the people that you don't like, you don't dislike them enough to want them
- 4:35to spend eternity in hell.
- 4:37And more importantly, Christ loves them as much as he loves you and me.
- 4:41And we need to be cognitively aware of that. But in our everyday lives,
- 4:46those of us who've given our heart and our lives to Jesus, there are just some
- 4:50days that we just don't feel loved.
- 4:54Some days just aren't going the way we want it to go.
- 4:57Some things just aren't lining up in a way that we would choose.
- 5:01And we can get our mind away from the love of God and away from the will of God.
- 5:06And we can open it up to other things as we look left or right of who God is.
- 5:11And we can begin to find ourselves feeling unloved.
- 5:15That is a trick of the devil. That is a tool he uses, isolation,
- 5:21depression, oppression.
- 5:22These are the things that the devil uses in order to try to get you to not focus
- 5:29on the amazing, incredible, precious love of Jesus.
- 5:34And I'm here tonight to get us back into the center of Romans chapter 8 and
- 5:41to be able to look at who God is.
- 5:43In fact, if you back up just a little bit to verse 28, he says,
- 5:48And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
- 5:52to them who are called according to his purpose.
- 5:55When we understand the incredible love of Christ, when we understand that he
- 6:02has a plan for us to prosper us and to give us a hope and expect it in a wonderful
- 6:07future, his plan isn't just a plan.
- 6:10It's a good plan, and it's for our good and his glory.
- 6:14That's what we're told in Jeremiah 29, 11. When we understand that all that
- 6:20he writes in his scriptures are the promises he has for the people he loves, which is every one of us.
- 6:29These are the things that come about when we really live Proverbs 3,
- 6:365, 6, and 7, which says to trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not
- 6:41into thine own understanding.
- 6:43In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.
- 6:48Be not wise in thine own eyes.
- 6:51Depart from evil and fear the Lord. Actually says fear the Lord and depart from evil.
- 6:57These are the things that make Romans 8 come alive for us because when we trust
- 7:04him, when we fully embrace him and his plan for our lives,
- 7:09then we understand that regardless of what's going on around us,
- 7:13we are held in the precious nail-scarred hands of Jesus Christ,
- 7:18and everything coming into our path is being sifted through the demonstration
- 7:22of his love, because his hands are nail-scarred to pay the price for our eternity in heaven.
- 7:31There is no greater love. Scripture says no greater love has any man than this,
- 7:35that a man would lay down his life for his friends.
- 7:37And we are his friends.
- 7:41We might have some amazing friends in our lives, and I certainly do.
- 7:45But there is no friend like Jesus. He sticks closer than a brother.
- 7:50He is the great I Am. And he is beside of you, loving you and caring about you.
- 7:57His amazing love will never cease. And so you need to come to the Lord in prayer.
- 8:05And we need to ask him to take captive those thoughts in our head and in our
- 8:10mind that tell us we are unloved, that tell us that we are unworthy. We are precious.
- 8:15We were worthy of the precious blood of Jesus, not because of who we are, but because of who he is.
- 8:22And we are saved from the guttermost to the uttermost because of his amazing, far-reaching love.
- 8:30And John 10, 28 says that no man shall pluck us out of his hand.
- 8:37We are safe, and we are secure, and we are loved beyond measure.
- 8:43And every single day, we must put on that armor of God that he talks about in Ephesians 6.
- 8:52That helmet of salvation covers our brain with the glory of Christ,
- 8:58with the love of God, with the mercy and grace of the Trinity.
- 9:03And when we do that, He'll take captive those thoughts that don't belong there.
- 9:09If you woke up this morning or you walked at any moment in this day thinking
- 9:14God had forsaken you, I promise you he hasn't.
- 9:19He said he would never leave or forsake us in Hebrews 13.5.
- 9:23If you walked through the day thinking that you were unloved,
- 9:29I promise you you're not.
- 9:31John 3.16 says, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son,
- 9:36that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- 9:43I promise you, if you thought you were forgotten, you weren't.
- 9:50Scripture says that he never sleeps nor slumbers, and his eyes are watching
- 9:55to and Sometimes we wait, and.
- 10:01Before he gives us what we are desiring, because sometimes our desires need
- 10:08to be put in the potter's will, and he needs to mold us,
- 10:12and he needs to correct us, and he needs to make us a vessel fit and worthy
- 10:19and capable of holding all the blessings he has for us.
- 10:25He's the potter, and we are the clay.
- 10:29And sometimes the pressure around that he puts, it's uncomfortable. It's awkward.
- 10:35Sometimes it's just simply not what we want, but it's always what we need.
- 10:41His grace is sufficient.
- 10:44He loves us. This I know for the Bible tells me so.
- 10:50And his love is unconditional. except for God so loved the world that he gave
- 10:55his only begotten son, that whosoever, you'll be called a lot of things in your lives.
- 11:03I know I certainly have been, but nothing as precious as a whosoever,
- 11:09because that entitles me to a personal relationship with the King of kings and the Lord of lords,
- 11:17and he loves me so much that he directs my footsteps when I allow him.
- 11:22He loves me so much that he knows the number of hairs on my head.
- 11:26He loves me so much that he knows the intents of my heart.
- 11:30And his word, which was made manifest and dwelt among us, is a discerner.
- 11:39He knows you, and yet he loves you.
- 11:43It never ceases to amaze me that the King of kings and the Lord of lords,
- 11:48he walks with me and he talks with me.
- 11:51In Jeremiah 33, 3, he says, Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee
- 11:55great and mighty things which thou knowest not.
- 11:58He is not just there silent.
- 12:00He is walking beside of you, leading you, guiding you. In John chapter 14 and
- 12:06verse 27, he's bringing to remembrance those things that we have need of when we have need of them.
- 12:12He is comforting us. He is teaching us.
- 12:15He is loving us. He's the light of the world.
- 12:18And when we walk in him, because he says, I am the way, the truth,
- 12:22and the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by me.
- 12:24When we walk in those steps that he is leading, he's the way.
- 12:29And when you're there, you're going to have the blessings of God.
- 12:32You're going to walk in his full fellowship, you're going to know the abundant
- 12:37joy he promises in John 10.10.
- 12:40Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
- 12:45And then he tells us in Romans 8, as I read in your hearing,
- 12:50who shall separate us from the love of God?
- 12:53And then he lists a bunch of things.
- 12:57And then he reminds us, just as we were told that man born of a woman and a.
- 13:04Few days full of trouble, there's tribulation cometh, but be of good cheer,
- 13:08for he has overcome them.
- 13:10And he is greater than is in you than he that is in the world.
- 13:15We are loved beyond measure, and it is a trickery of the devil.
- 13:19It is a lie and deceit of Satan to make you feel otherwise,
- 13:24because he's only got a few things that he can throw at you,
- 13:28and all of them are pieces of weaponry that you've given him because you're
- 13:34speaking into your existence and into your life things that he hears,
- 13:39and he knows how to get your number because he cannot read and understand and
- 13:43hear and know the intents of your heart.
- 13:46That is reserved for Jesus.
- 13:50So don't be talking to him. Don't give him the strategy.
- 13:54You talk to Jesus and ask for faith to overcome because he tells us that we're more than a conqueror.
- 14:05That means we have more than enough to overcome.
- 14:09We are victorious through Christ Jesus. We don't just barely win the battle.
- 14:14We are more than conquerors. We obliterate Satan when we allow God to be the
- 14:21one fighting our battles because the battle's not ours. It belongs to the Lord.
- 14:25David proved this to us as he fought the giant in his life.
- 14:31And he threw the slingshot rock through the slingshot.
- 14:37And it hit the giant in the forehead. and the giant fell forward.
- 14:44If it had been the rock, the stone that he hurled, the giant would have had
- 14:51to have fallen backwards.
- 14:53But he didn't. He fell forward on his face because the rock,
- 14:58Jesus Christ is the rock. He's the firm foundation.
- 15:03We don't fall. He doesn't crumble. He lets us stand upon him. He loves me, this I know.
- 15:11He fights our battles. 1 Samuel 17, 47, David lets us know.
- 15:18In that account, battle's not ours. It belongs to the Lord.
- 15:23He's never lost a battle, and he's not going to start by losing yours.
- 15:28Today, I want you to look at what he says. We're counted as sheep for the slaughter.
- 15:33We don't belong in this world.
- 15:36And the world is never going to understand us.
- 15:39And we're going to be awkward because we're to be peculiar people,
- 15:43zealous of good works. We're not to blend in.
- 15:46And so the world's going to look at us and think that we are weak,
- 15:51but we are strong when we lean on Jesus,
- 15:55us, when we allow the Lord to rise above our pride, when we allow the Lord to take hold of our lives,
- 16:03when we realize that he chose to live in us and greater is he that is in us
- 16:09than he that is in the world,
- 16:11when we understand that we are a vessel for his power to flow through,
- 16:15we are a conduit for the love and the mercy and the grace and the power of God,
- 16:19because he can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
- 16:24according to the power that works in us,
- 16:27according to Ephesians 3.20.
- 16:29So we may look like sheep headed to the slaughter, but we are sheep following
- 16:37the shepherd who is taking care of us and loving us.
- 16:42And he loves you so much that he will go after you even when everybody else
- 16:47is in line. He will pull you in.
- 16:50You can't go so far that his hand can't reach you.
- 16:55You are loved and nothing, nothing is going to separate you from that love.
- 17:02So I ask you this.
- 17:04Can you say, I am persuaded that nothing will separate me from the love of God?
- 17:12If you can say that if you believe that if you trust in that.
- 17:22Then there'll be a peace that passes all understanding and a joy unspeakable
- 17:26that fills your heart, floods your soul, and permeates your life.
- 17:32And when troubles come, which they will, you won't try to attack them on your own.
- 17:42You will battle them on your knees.
- 17:45And you will understand that he said, be anxious for nothing.
- 17:49But in everything, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God,
- 17:55and the peace of God shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
- 18:01This world is not our home. We are pilgrims just passing through.
- 18:06And I want you to know, we've won.
- 18:10We belong to the King of kings and the Lord of lords. I've read the back of the book. We win.
- 18:16But I'm not waiting to get to heaven. to enjoy my relationship with Jesus,
- 18:22to live a victorious life.
- 18:25No, I refuse to let that roaring lion that walketh about seeking whom he may
- 18:30devour win, because he said I'm more than a conqueror.
- 18:36He said that I'm victorious through him that loves me, Christ Jesus.
- 18:42He said greater as he that is in me than he that is in the world.
- 18:47He said, casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you.
- 18:55He doesn't just love you. He cares about you. And he's never away from you.
- 19:02And one day, he's coming back.
- 19:06That's what he tells us in John chapter 4. When he says, in my Father's house are many mansions.
- 19:15And if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you,
- 19:20that where I am you may be also.
- 19:23And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself.
- 19:32He said, Peace I give you, not as the world giveth you, but I give it to you.
- 19:38So the world didn't give it to you, so the world can't take it away.
- 19:43So tonight stand your ground in the blood of Jesus Christ that's never lost
- 19:48a battle, that's never backed away, been afraid, or been uncertain of what to do.
- 19:54And you plant yourself in the center of God's will, and you ask him to lead you,
- 20:02to guide you, and you keep your eyes completely focused upon Jesus Christ,
- 20:07and you will accomplish more than you can imagine because nothing is impossible to him that believes.
- 20:14And my friends, when you walk hand in hand with Jesus, eyes fixed on him,
- 20:21purposed and determined to do his goodwill and to do his works,
- 20:26to follow his commandments, you'll do miraculous things.
- 20:32Peter did. He got out of the boat and he walked on the water as long as his
- 20:38eyes and his mind was fixed on Jesus. us.
- 20:41But the moment he looked left or right, the moment he employed his logic,
- 20:47the moment he allowed himself to be the one directing what was going, he sunk.
- 20:53But I leave you with this. In 1 John 1.9, he says, if we confess our sins,
- 20:59he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 21:06And Peter, as he was sinking, I like to believe head under, throws his arms
- 21:13up, and he says, Lord, save me.
- 21:18And immediately, Jesus reached down, picked him up, drew him to himself,
- 21:24and carried him to the boat.
- 21:26Friends, you've got to have the confidence to get out of the boat,
- 21:29to know who he is, and to trust him for what he says he is, and live with the
- 21:37assurance that you are loved.
- 21:40There is never a moment, a day, or any event that you are not loved.
- 21:49Jesus loves you. This I know, for the Bible tells me so. Bye.
