Speaker 1: We have just learned that the FBI Detroit held an
• 0:04
Speaker 1: active shooter training drill situation six weeks ago. Okay, six
• 0:10
Speaker 1: weeks ago. They held an active shooter training session or
• 0:14
Speaker 1: drill six weeks ago at this temple.
• 0:17
Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:21
Speaker 3: Good Friday morning. It's nice to have you with us
• 0:23
Speaker 3: on the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got one
• 0:25
Speaker 3: big story for you. Tear on American soil, a synagogue targeted,
• 0:30
Speaker 3: and an ICEIS supporter opening fire at a US university.
• 0:34
Speaker 3: The good news is, brave men and women stop that
• 0:37
Speaker 3: killer before more lives were lost. We have the heroes,
• 0:41
Speaker 3: the FBI investigation, the Trump Administration's response. Having just come
• 0:47
Speaker 3: back from Israel, I want to paint you a picture.
• 0:49
Speaker 3: It's midnight, sirens are blaring and you have only seconds
• 0:54
Speaker 3: to grab your child and run. Now imagine your elderly.
• 0:58
Speaker 3: Your legs don't work like they getting downstairs feels impossible,
• 1:03
Speaker 3: and after all of that, you end up in a
• 1:04
Speaker 3: bomb shelter for hours, even days, because you can't make
• 1:08
Speaker 3: the trek again. This is what's happening across Israel as
• 1:13
Speaker 3: Operation Epic fury continues. Children are being traumatized, families are
• 1:18
Speaker 3: just exhausted, and homes have been destroyed. And that's why
• 1:22
Speaker 3: the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is there on
• 1:26
Speaker 3: the ground, bringing food, emergency equipment, care for those children,
• 1:31
Speaker 3: and help for the elderly, and supplying the bomb shelters
• 1:35
Speaker 3: and medical centers for critically needed essentials. If you've ever
• 1:39
Speaker 3: wondered what it looks like to stand for Israel and
• 1:41
Speaker 3: stand for good against evil, this is it. And that's
• 1:45
Speaker 3: why I'm asking to now please act, give forty five
• 1:48
Speaker 3: dollars right now to rush life saving essentials to the
• 1:51
Speaker 3: vulnerables under fire. You can also call eight to eight
• 1:56
Speaker 3: four eight eight IFCJ. That's eight eight eight four eight
• 2:01
Speaker 3: eight IFCJ. Join me and give and make a real

• 2:11
Speaker 3: It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
• 2:14
  Speaker 2: Story number one.
• 2:16
Speaker 3: Let's start today with something that should shake every American,
• 2:20
Speaker 3: but it should also remind us of something else, the
• 2:23
Speaker 3: courage of ordinary Americans who refuse to let evil win.
• 2:28
Speaker 3: In just the last several days, the United States has
• 2:30
Speaker 3: seen multiple terrorist attacks or acts of terror targeting Americans
• 2:36
Speaker 3: in classrooms, in houses of worship, and public spaces. But
• 2:41
Speaker 3: in the middle of that evil, there have been heroes
• 2:44
Speaker 3: that have emerged, and their actions have likely saved the
• 2:48
Speaker 3: lives of dozens and dozens of other Americans that would
• 2:53
Speaker 3: have been killed otherwise. Let's start with the Virginia terror attack,
• 2:58
Speaker 3: the most shocking attack happening at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
• 3:02
Speaker 3: Authority say the suspect was Mohammed, a former member of
• 3:07
Speaker 3: the Virginia National Guard and the most important part of
• 3:11
Speaker 3: the story, a convicted supporter of ISIS who had previously
• 3:15
Speaker 3: served time in federal prison for trying to assist the
• 3:18
Speaker 3: terrorist organization. On the morning of March twelfth, Muhammad walked
• 3:24
Speaker 3: into a classroom building on campus and began asking a
• 3:28
Speaker 3: chilling question, is this the ROTC class? Moments later, he
• 3:34
Speaker 3: opened fire. Witnesses say the gunman shouted a la akbar
• 3:39
Speaker 3: as he began shooting. One person was killed, a respected
• 3:43
Speaker 3: retired military officer and ROTC leader, Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Shah.
• 3:50
Speaker 3: Two ROTC cadets were also shot and wounded as well.
• 3:55
Speaker 3: For a moment, it looked like the beginning of a
• 3:57
Speaker 3: mass couzie terrorist attack on a college camp. But that's
• 4:01
Speaker 3: when something incredible happened. The hero who stopped him stepped
• 4:05
Speaker 3: up several ROTC cadets, young Americans training to serve their country.
• 4:12
Speaker 3: They refused to run. Instead, they ran towards the gunfire.
• 4:17
Speaker 3: The students tackled and subdued the attacker, killing him before
• 4:21
Speaker 3: he could continue the shooting. Law enforcement officials say their
• 4:25
Speaker 3: actions prevented far greater carnage. This is how the FBI
• 4:29
Speaker 3: described it when they were asked about this shooting earlier.
• 4:33
Speaker 4: There were students that were in that room that subdued
• 4:37
  Speaker 4: him and rendered.
• 4:40
Speaker 1: Him no longer alive.
• 4:42
Speaker 4: I don't know else to say it, but they basically
• 4:44
Speaker 4: agreeable to terminate the threat.
• 4:47
Speaker 1: For he was not shot.
• 4:48
Speaker 4: He was not shot.
• 4:49
Speaker 3: He shot three people.
• 4:51
Speaker 4: Correct, We have information that he shot three people.
• 4:54
Speaker 3: I want you to think about that for just a moment.
• 4:57
Speaker 3: These were not active duty soldiers. They were students, young
• 5:02
Speaker 3: men and women, sitting in a classroom who, in a
• 5:05
Speaker 3: split second, made the decision to risk their own lives
• 5:09
Speaker 3: to save the lives of others. And not only did
• 5:12
Speaker 3: they do it, they succeeded. The FBI confirming the attack
• 5:17
Speaker 3: is being investigated as an act of terrorism tied to
• 5:20
Speaker 3: ISIS support as well. But the story doesn't end there,
• 5:24
Speaker 3: because on the very same day, another attack unfolded hundreds
• 5:28
Speaker 3: of miles away, this time at a Michigan synagogue in
• 5:33
Speaker 3: West Bloomfield, Michigan. An attacker targeted Temple Israel, one of
• 5:38
Speaker 3: the largest synagogues in the entire United States of America.
• 5:42
Speaker 3: The suspect drove a vehicle directly into the building before
• 5:46
Speaker 3: opening fire. Inside the synagogue complex at the time were
• 5:51
Speaker 3: more than a one hundred and forty children attending the
• 5:55
Speaker 3: facility's preschool program. Let that sink in this jewel wanted
• 6:00
Speaker 3: to kill children, more than one hundred of them. Now
• 6:04
Speaker 3: at the attacker had gotten inside that building fully armed,
• 6:07
Speaker 3: the outcome could have been catastrophic, But again heroes, they
• 6:13
Speaker 3: stepped in. Security personnel at the synagogue confront the attacker
• 6:18
Speaker 3: immediately and neutralized the threat. The suspect was killed before
• 6:22
Speaker 3: he could reach the children. Officials later confirmed that the
• 6:27
Speaker 3: security guard struck by the vehicle was injured but survived. Meanwhile,
• 6:33
Speaker 3: firefighters in law enforcement rushed to contain a fire that
• 6:36
Speaker 3: broke out at the scene as well over thirty first
• 6:40
Speaker 3: responders were treated for smoke in elation during that response.
• 6:44
Speaker 3: But the most important detail again, every single child was
• 6:49
Speaker 3: safely evacuated because of the heroes. The pattern authorities are
• 6:54
Speaker 3: watching is very real. Now there's a bigger concern, as
• 6:58
Speaker 3: investigators say, these attacks come amid rising tensions globally and
• 7:02
Speaker 3: an increase in extremist threats inside the United States. Also
• 7:07
Speaker 3: known as sleeper cells. Unlike organized terror cells, these individuals
• 7:12
Speaker 3: can radicalize also online and act alone with little warning,
• 7:17
Speaker 3: and that appears to be exactly what is happening here now.
• 7:21
Speaker 3: The FBI's response has been very clear. The FBI quickly
• 7:25
Speaker 3: launched terrorism investigations into these attacks. In the Virginia case,
• 7:30
Speaker 3: SBI officials confirm they are treating the university shooting as
• 7:34
Speaker 3: a terrorism case that is linked to prior extremist activity
• 7:39
Speaker 3: by that suspect. Here is more of what the FBI
• 7:42
Speaker 3: had to say about the Old Dominion shooting.
• 7:46
Speaker 4: The FBI is now the lead investigative agency investigating this
• 7:50
Speaker 4: as an act of terrorism. The shooter has been identified
• 7:54
Speaker 4: as Mohammed Baylor Jallo. In twenty sixteen, Jello was arrested
• 8:01
Speaker 4: and pled guilty for attempting to provide material support to
• 8:05
Speaker 4: Isle now known as Isis.
• 8:09
Speaker 3: This was an individual that had already been involved in
• 8:12
Speaker 3: terrorist activities and had gone to prison for it. The
• 8:16
Speaker 3: FBI Director Cash Pattel, saying it clearly FBI personnel are
• 8:20
Speaker 3: providing assistance and working with local authorities. Responding to the
• 8:24
Speaker 3: shooting at Old Dominion University, he said, we will obviously
• 8:27
Speaker 3: keep you updated on exactly what is going to happen
• 8:30
Speaker 3: moving forward. Now, agents, we also now have been told
• 8:33
Speaker 3: to reviewing the government's communications, digital devices and contacts determined
• 8:39
Speaker 3: whether he acted alone or had outside influence. Meanwhile, the
• 8:43
Speaker 3: FBI is also investigating the Syenegogue attack in coordinating with
• 8:47
Speaker 3: local law enforcement across the country to increase security around
• 8:52
Speaker 3: religious institutions as well as public gatherings. We actually know
• 8:58
Speaker 3: more now about that Synegogue. In fact, they had just done,
• 9:02
Speaker 3: as they described it, dry runs on this exact location
• 9:07
Speaker 3: training for this being a real possibility. I want you
• 9:11
Speaker 3: to hear what they had to say about that active
• 9:13
Speaker 3: shooting training that took place recently at Temple Israel.
• 9:19
Speaker 1: Take a listen and is that we have just learned
• 9:22
Speaker 1: that the FBI Detroit held an active shooter training drill situation,
• 9:29
Speaker 1: I should say, yeah, okay, a drill, a training drill
• 9:32
Speaker 1: just six months ago at this temple. Oh, six weeks ago. Okay,
• 9:37
Speaker 1: six weeks ago. They held an active shooter training session
• 9:42
Speaker 1: or drill six weeks ago at this temple.
• 9:44
Speaker 3: Federal authorities are also warning now local police nationwide to
• 9:49
Speaker 3: remain vigilant amid global tensions that could inspire additional attacks.
• 9:54
Speaker 3: And then we come to Donald Trump and the White
• 9:56
Speaker 3: House's response to all of this. The White House issued
• 10:00
Speaker 3: a statement condemning the attacks and praising the Americans who
• 10:03
Speaker 3: stopped them. President Donald Trump called the ROTC Cadets true
• 10:08
Speaker 3: American heroes who acted with extraordinary bravery. The administration also
• 10:14
Speaker 3: expressed condolences to the family of Lieutenant Colonel Shaw, honoring
• 10:18
Speaker 3: his decades at military service. Officials emphasize that the United
• 10:23
Speaker 3: States will continue to pursue terrorists both overseas and domestically.
• 10:28
Speaker 3: The message from the administration is clear, America will not
• 10:32
Speaker 3: be intimidated by terrorists or terrorism. Other leaders are also
• 10:38
Speaker 3: speaking out. Senior officials across the Trump administration responding, including
• 10:42
Speaker 3: the Attorney General's Office, pledging to pursue anyone connected to
• 10:47
Speaker 3: these attacks with a full force of federal law. State
• 10:50
Speaker 3: leaders echoed the same message, saying law enforcement agencies nationwide
• 10:55
Speaker 3: are now increasing security around universities, religious institutions, and large
• 11:00
Speaker 3: public events. The bigger takeaway is this there are two
• 11:04
Speaker 3: big stories. The first is about terror, radicalies extremists attempting
• 11:10
Speaker 3: to bring violence into American communities. And the second story
• 11:14
Speaker 3: is the one that deserves just as much attention, and
• 11:17
Speaker 3: that one is about courage and the heroes involved. The
• 11:21
Speaker 3: ROTC Cadets who stopped to terrace with their bare hands
• 11:25
Speaker 3: taking him out, literally killing him. They are heroes that
• 11:29
Speaker 3: should be honored, in my opinion, at the White House.
• 11:32
Speaker 3: The security guards who confront a Guman before he could
• 11:34
Speaker 3: reach children at the synagogue are also the other heroes
• 11:38
Speaker 3: that I believe should also become heroes in a way
• 11:42
Speaker 3: that America can see them in some sort of ceremony
• 11:45
Speaker 3: at the White House as well. And then the first
• 11:48
Speaker 3: responders who rushed into a burning building to protect those
• 11:52
Speaker 3: children and others. These are the people who remind us
• 11:55
Speaker 3: what America looks like when evil shows up, and they
• 11:59
Speaker 3: prove time and time again that sometimes terras well, they
• 12:03
Speaker 3: may hit, but we always remember who is the real
• 12:07
Speaker 3: threat and who we're trying to help. President of the
• 12:10
Speaker 3: United States of America making it very clear he will
• 12:13
Speaker 3: not back down and America will not be intimidated by
• 12:17
Speaker 3: these terrasts. What we will do is hunt them down
• 12:20
Speaker 3: and take them out wherever they are in the world.
• 12:23
