- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello everyone, welcome back to Empower your Soul.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I wanted to update you on my latest shamanism weekend and I feel like there's going to be one coming up soon.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I think this is going to be a fast follow podcast episode because it happened right before my microphone broke and I haven't caught up, but I did want to talk about my shamanism class because it's just if I were listening to this podcast, I want to know about it, because I want to learn shamanism too.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Right, so let's talk about it.
- 0:25Speaker 1: And it's really interesting because I walked into this class having a whole new perspective on my shamanism class because of a student of mine.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Yep, spirit works in amazing ways, people.
- 0:38Speaker 1: So my last evidential mediumship class that I had, the last class of my beginners talking to the dead one on one and, by the way, this is coming up real soon it starts February 4, if you want to get in on the next one.
- 0:48Speaker 1: My class was so great that we essentially had everyone consistently communicating with the dead by class for evidence, messages, everything.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So what we ended up doing is, for class five, besides practicing our final connection to spirit, I asked what did you want to do?
- 1:07Speaker 1: So I taught them not only how to connect to their departed loved ones, but also how to connect to their spirit guides, which was such a cool exercise.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Loved it.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Thank you for the suggestion.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I think it was jill who asked to do that, and what we ended up doing is teaching them how to connect to the spirit guide frequency, and I had them pair off, live in the group session and start reading each other's spirit guides.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Two of them went back and forth.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It was fabulous.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And then one person started describing a spirit guide and I thought it was for my student because, like I don't want readings in these things, I'm the teacher, right.
- 1:45Speaker 1: But one of the students started with a Peruvian shaman man that was coming through and, mind you, I don't know how versed she is in what I'm doing and I don't this.
- 1:56Speaker 1: This might've like I don't know the timing of this was really weird.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I don't feel like she knew I was in shamanism training, just the way the message came through, because she didn't look at me.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Everyone looked at the other person and she's like I can't understand why that would come through and I was like fuck, I can take it.
- 2:11Speaker 1: So she and, by the way, this is like Crazy, it's crazy.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I think this happened in December, like so.
- 2:22Speaker 1: This happened a little bit ago and I haven't talked about it on the podcast, but my student pulled through a spirit guide that was an old Peruvian man and he came through and I had to go back and listen to the recording.
- 2:36Speaker 1: He came through laughing initially, and what my students said to me I could completely take it.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It completely resonated with me.
- 2:47Speaker 1: And then what I ended up having the students do was, after figuring out who the last spirit guide was for the other person, I brought them into a guided meditation where you invite your spirit guide in and we're going to have them deliver a message to you.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Well, I'm sitting there taking notes, getting ready for the next part of class, and I feel that Peruvian man, that spirit, tap on my shoulder, my spirit guide, and they're like are you going to do the exercise too?
- 3:12Speaker 1: And I was like, oh fine.
- 3:13Speaker 1: So I went into my very quick meditative state and got the message from him that he wanted me to hear in the class.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Because I'll tell you what I don't have time for this, otherwise, I need to start dedicating time to connecting with my guides more, listening to them more.
- 3:27Speaker 1: That is my goal throughout this year, and I'm already a month behind on that.
- 3:32Speaker 1: But he told me in this meditation that I needed to be in the shamana class essentially to guide others and that if I'm not resonating with the content that my teacher is teaching, if I'm bored, if I'm frustrated with it, I should call in this guide, as well as Mother Earth, he said, to teach me what they'd actually like me to do and how they'd actually like to work with modality and topics, so that I can teach others.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Doesn't that sound like a giant ego trip?
- 4:07Speaker 1: Fucking cool though.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And I was like, okay, that's interesting.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And then I was like, okay, so if you're this like Peruvian teacher, like when, when did you?
- 4:21Speaker 1: When were you here?
- 4:22Speaker 1: When did you walk the earth?
- 4:23Speaker 1: And what he showed me, I mean, this is how you know, you can't make this stuff up he showed me that he was formed out of the evaporated energy of the sacred land in South America and he essentially took that evaporated energy.
- 4:40Speaker 1: It turned into a spiritual body.
- 4:41Speaker 1: So he essentially is telling me that he wasn't from one specific time, he was from like like all the time.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I don't know how to say this.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I, he, he was, he was from energy of the tribes and generations that have lived the sacred land and he has so much to teach me and he's so excited to work with me.
- 5:06Speaker 1: So, yeah, that that happened.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I have a evaporated energy guide that presents himself as a Peruvian shaman and I have to tell you that really reset my entire perspective on this and, coincidentally coincidentally, several weeks later I'm in this practice mediumship group with an advanced students that were my peers in a class and the last one.
- 5:32Speaker 1: We did spirit art.
- 5:34Speaker 1: See, I wouldn't have included this if I recorded this earlier.
- 5:37Speaker 1: We did spirit art and the person that my partner pulled through was a Native American rattle.
- 5:45Speaker 1: It was really weird.
- 5:46Speaker 1: She drew it, it was fabulous, but it was just weird because it was like a Native American head, as a rattle, and I was like, oh, you got to be kidding me.
- 5:54Speaker 1: So they're coming at me from all angles, all the shamanic guides.
- 5:57Speaker 1: But it really helped reset my entire perspective on this.
- 6:02Speaker 1: And then it really just brought me back to my why.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Because I'm not here to learn a specific modality.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I'm here to learn about the magic of Mother Earth and how to use my spiritual gifts to, I don't know, have it as a more grounded experience, elemental, bring it way more down because I tend to be up in the ether.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I tend to be in the Akashic Records quite a bit.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I tend to be higher with the departed loved ones and I need to bring it lower.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I mean I need to balance the high with the low because as so above, so below.
- 6:36Speaker 1: So it brings a lot more balanced perspective and energy to my work and it's able to help me, as spirit is showing it to me right now.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It's able to help me.
- 6:47Speaker 1: It's like a tree I can't go up higher unless I go lower.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I need the roots in the earth for me to go higher in the energy.
- 6:55Speaker 1: So that is the purpose of essentially, shamanism, for me at least.
- 6:59Speaker 1: At this point I don't know where this is going to evolve to.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I know it's a very, very, very important part of my path because since day one I have been getting readings about how it is absolutely essential that I learn shamanic practices.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I learn to integrate the magic of Mother Earth into what I do.
- 7:14Speaker 1: So I'm not quite sure, to be honest with you, where all this is going, but I know that it's so important that they wanted me to include it in my title.
- 7:23Speaker 1: So now I've changed my title from evidential medium to Akashic and shamanic evidential medium.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Do I know what that means yet?
- 7:31Speaker 1: No, frankly I don't, but I'll figure it all out.
- 7:36Speaker 1: That's the name of the game, folks with the spiritual stuff.
- 7:42Speaker 1: So what is so cool about the last weekend of my shamanic practice is like we finally got into the weeds, we got into the dirt, we got into the stuff that I love about the shamanic work and that, specifically for me, is the soul retrieval, and we've already met our guides.
- 8:02Speaker 1: We already did.
- 8:03Speaker 1: We did the journeying already into the upper world, the underworld, right.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But this time we did soul retrieval.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And I have like to be completely honest with you.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I have been reading about soul retrieval for probably about a year.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I started with a few I'm going to butcher her name like Sandra Ingerman.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I think it is books.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I've listened to several of her books on tape while I drive everywhere and shuttle my kids to practices and I love how she approaches it and I've actually used her books, her methodology, to try to do it myself.
- 8:35Speaker 1: So it was really cool to walk in with her perspective and her how to's on how to do soul journeys.
- 8:40Speaker 1: But it was equally cool for me to be in the class and learn how my Peruvian teacher now teaches it.
- 8:48Speaker 1: And I have to say, similar, but different.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Nope, hang on, I'm being reminded.
- 8:54Speaker 1: It's very different.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And for those of you that are unaware of what soul journeys are, they are an incredibly powerful tool where you, essentially, are guided.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Either yourself or a shamanic practitioner will do it for you into the subconscious of your mind and your body, to recover a part of your soul and bring it back to you.
- 9:18Speaker 1: And the reason why souls might be lost or need to be recovered is because and I think the teacher in my class explained it beautifully, and then I'm going to add to that because I.
- 9:33Speaker 1: So when you go through something very traumatic and I'm going to tell you what mine came up as, because I didn't, I forgot all about this, right, and this is what I mean about subconscious it's, it's um.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I'll tell you about mine after I explain what soul journey or soul retrieval is.
- 9:52Speaker 1: So soul retrieval is essential.
- 9:53Speaker 1: See, I'm so excited I'm getting off track, I'm getting ahead of myself.
- 9:56Speaker 1: It's essentially a moment of trauma.
- 10:00Speaker 1: It could be huge trauma.
- 10:02Speaker 1: It could be little, tiny moment trauma that your soul essentially decides to peace out.
- 10:07Speaker 1: And they're like you know what, I can't handle it here on this earthly plane.
- 10:11Speaker 1: So I'm going to go back to the spirit world and I'm out because I don't want to be here anymore.
- 10:17Speaker 1: And that's really interesting for me because it backs up, it makes sense with what I've read in.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Don't want me turning around.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I think it's the journey of souls, by.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I can't remember his first name, but I see Newton on the book behind me where essentially, as souls, we don't fully come here, right, like, like if we have a soul and it's 100% of our soul, maybe only 30% of our soul comes here, maybe it's 50%, maybe it's 70%, but but like as part of our whole, our whole soul, only parts of us come here.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Which is why when you die, if you reincarnate, I can still connect with you and your loved ones in evidential mediumship readings, because it doesn't matter, like because part of you is still in the spirit world.
- 11:02Speaker 1: So that's what I mean.
- 11:03Speaker 1: So when I'm explaining that your soul pieces out, a party, like 10% of you is like fuck this, I didn't come here and sign up for this, I'm out, I'm going to go back to the spirit world.
- 11:14Speaker 1: So do I think that actually happens?
- 11:18Speaker 1: Probably not, but I think that was a really appropriate way to explain why your soul would be lost, why your soul essentially decided to have this safety mechanism to shut that part of your consciousness off, to help you navigate and be more present and able to continue on your journey.
- 11:38Speaker 1: So that's the subconscious stuff, right?
- 11:40Speaker 1: So your soul journeys essentially tap into your subconscious and remind you of these traumatic events and heal you and bring that soul back to you so that you feel more present, loving, whole again.
- 11:56Speaker 1: And I can tell you I've had several different soul journeys one where it's a professional doing it for me this recent and I've done quite a few where I'm doing it for myself and bringing my old soul back.
- 12:06Speaker 1: And I can tell you, every single time when I'm done with these sessions, I feel this sense of wholeness that I it's really hard to describe, it almost feels like my aura is back again and I feel more solid and I feel more put together and like I can.
- 12:24Speaker 1: When I'm done with soul journeys I tend to be able to feel my own energy field a lot stronger and it's and it's solid and there's no pieces missing.
- 12:34Speaker 1: You may experience it a little differently, but that's just how I feel after these sessions, so it was just really neat to see the difference between the two and how um and how my teacher the peruvian background versus I'm it's some sort of native american background that sandra ingerman does um, and how those are different Either way super powerful and it was really.
- 13:01Speaker 1: It was really interesting because I didn't agree necessarily with the way my my teacher did it.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I thought it was interesting how he did it.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I didn't necessarily like it.
- 13:13Speaker 1: So the way I can talk about it they're telling me it's okay, I'm not going to get into like the how, but essentially you go into this, this guided meditation, and then you end up in a cave and you end up in three rooms of a cave.
- 13:24Speaker 1: The first cave tells you what the incident is.
- 13:26Speaker 1: The second cave you learn about your soul contract, about, like what happened.
- 13:31Speaker 1: What did you learn?
- 13:32Speaker 1: What was the lesson that your subconscious walked away with?
- 13:35Speaker 1: He calls it a soul contract.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I don't like that.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I'm going to say it's like an ingrained behavior or it's an imprint, an energetic imprint that is left with you.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I feel like that's a much more appropriate term.
- 13:49Speaker 1: And then you go into the last cave door Is that a thing?
- 13:51Speaker 1: And you meet your soul and you essentially see what the potential is without that and I was like that's really interesting.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So, number one, I didn't agree with the words he was doing.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Number two, it was just so.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I'm going to walk you through what my experience was, because and I totally forgot this happened right.
- 14:08Speaker 1: So my soul journey experience with my partner, and it was really fast, like it was like three minutes long I'm not kidding because he doesn't give enough time for the exercises, but I, that's a whole other topic.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Kidding because he doesn't give enough time for the exercises, but I, that's a whole other topic.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Um, was that in fourth grade the first time I ever went to disney world?
- 14:24Speaker 1: Well, probably the only time as a kid.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Um, we also went to clearwater beach, florida.
- 14:29Speaker 1: A spoiler alert now, I know so many people that live there.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I love it.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Hey, floridians, if you're there.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Um, and while we were in clearwater florida, you may if you've been there.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I think it's a Hyatt, I don't know what it was.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Back in the day there was a bird, a macaw, that was in the lobby of this hotel and fourth grader me fourth grader me was obsessed with this macaw.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I've always loved birds, so at the time of checkout I am hanging out with this macaw.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I'm like talking to it, I'm like clicking at it.
- 15:00Speaker 1: You know, you know, and I'm just I'm talking to this bird, this beautiful red macaw that is in the lobby, and my parents leave for the airport without me.
- 15:10Speaker 1: They do, they leave for the airport without I have, and, mind you, I had no idea that they had left, because obviously I would be with them if they left.
- 15:22Speaker 1: So I, so I'm just sitting here talking to this macaw and I look around like, oh, my parents went, so maybe they went to the bathroom and I'm just sitting here talking to this macaw having a grand old time.
- 15:30Speaker 1: And then eventually my parents find out and realize I'm not in the car.
- 15:34Speaker 1: After they've left, and it's probably a pretty significant.
- 15:37Speaker 1: They, after they've left and it's probably a pretty significant they're telling me it was half an hour.
- 15:40Speaker 1: They drive back.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Oh, and I just got a thumbs up on my screen.
- 15:42Speaker 1: So there's the evidence from spirit.
- 15:44Speaker 1: They were gone for half an hour.
- 15:46Speaker 1: They went out.
- 15:48Speaker 1: My parents talking to a bird for 30 minutes Doesn't surprise me, have you met me?
- 15:52Speaker 1: And when they came flying back, and, mind you again, I felt totally safe and secure in the moment.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I was not afraid.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I was having the time of my life talking to this bird and, I'm going to be honest with you, it felt like a blanket of calm around me at the time when I tapped back into that energy.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I was not afraid, like to the point where I didn't even go up to the staff in the hotel and be like, hey, I don't know where my parents are.
- 16:19Speaker 1: No, I was fine, I was having the time of my life.
- 16:22Speaker 1: So they come running back when they finally realize that I'm not in the car, and then they proceeded to yell at me like it was my fault that I wasn't in the car.
- 16:30Speaker 1: And I like to be honest I mean not my fault as a fourth grader, right, could I have been more responsible?
- 16:42Speaker 1: Probably, but I'm not the adult, I'm not the one in charge.
- 16:47Speaker 1: So they came and very frantically put their anxiousness and their worried you know, worried energy onto me, like pointing at me because they couldn't handle the blame themselves.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Right, like parents normal, I'm a parent, I totally get it, because I would freak out too and I'd be like where were you?
- 17:07Speaker 1: Why didn't you?
- 17:08Speaker 1: Where were you?
- 17:10Speaker 1: Have I ever told you?
- 17:12Speaker 1: I felt like the outsider in my family.
- 17:14Speaker 1: There's your story, proof of it.
- 17:16Speaker 1: So that was the memory that came up when I did my shamanic journey is being left in the hotel as a little girl and then getting yelled at like it was my fault.
- 17:27Speaker 1: And again, this is a fourth grader perspective on what happened, because I was like I wasn't even doing anything.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I wasn't even doing anything.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Why am I the one getting yelled at?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Because you forgot me.
- 17:38Speaker 1: So that was the perspective in the first door.
- 17:40Speaker 1: And then you had to leave little fourth grader me and go into a second door to say what did I learn?
- 17:48Speaker 1: What was the imprinted energy?
- 17:50Speaker 1: I'm going to refuse to use the word soul contract.
- 17:53Speaker 1: What was the imprinted energy that resulted from that incident?
- 17:55Speaker 1: Resulted from that incident and little me wrote down that it's my fault.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Whether or not like it.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Actually let me see if I can phrase that differently I am responsible for the behaviors and actions and feelings of others, even if I'm unaware of it, even if I'm not the cause of it, like whether I am conscious to it or unconscious to it, I am now responsible for the behaviors, actions and beliefs of others.
- 18:22Speaker 1: So there's my trauma, right that I'm, that I see my little girl writing down in this debt on this piece of paper, and then I'm supposed to leave that room and that paper and go to my soul and say, like, what does it feel?
- 18:34Speaker 1: Like so, and then you end up like leaving it all behind.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I don't see, I don't even know how he did, like it didn't make sense to me.
- 18:45Speaker 1: So I can't even explain to you how you resolve the trauma, like I think, because I think that you need to see it from every single angle.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I think I need to see it from my parents angle, I need to see it from my angle and I need to essentially, like, reparent myself that, honey, it was not your fault that they left you.
- 19:00Speaker 1: They were frazzled.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Honey, it was not your fault that they left you.
- 19:04Speaker 1: They were frazzled and that's okay.
- 19:05Speaker 1: You can hold space and grace for them, but you need to realize that's not your burden and you need to give it back.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So when I was partnered up with my partner and trying it on our own and doing a soul journey for her, I had my little Peruvian guide on my shoulder on one shoulder, and Mother Earth on the other shoulder and they're telling me how to do this and they say you can stick to the cave, because that's the class I'm in and I should probably at least stay with his methodology, even though I won't long term.
- 19:32Speaker 1: But stay with the cave.
- 19:33Speaker 1: But don't leave that girl behind in that first room.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Take that girl with you.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Take that girl with you, sit her down, have her write on a piece of paper what was the lesson that she walked away with.
- 19:46Speaker 1: But let her know you're there, put your hand on her shoulder, let her know that you are there, protecting her, watching over her, and that she's not alone in this moment.
- 19:56Speaker 1: And then, when you get to the soul room, you bring the little girl and the paper with you to meet your soul and you give your soul, the little girl back, and you give your soul that piece of paper back so that that soul can burn it Right Like doesn't.
- 20:15Speaker 1: And and I love that I felt because I had my two little guides on my shoulder.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I felt empowered to change what he said because I was in tears from that energy.
- 20:32Speaker 1: She was in tears from the energy of my partner and it felt so much more powerful to be able to be the adult that holds the child and that resolves the issue.
- 20:44Speaker 1: So I did it my way.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I loved it.
- 20:47Speaker 1: The person I was partnered with loved it.
- 20:51Speaker 1: And here's the thing about teachers.
- 20:55Speaker 1: We brought it back to the big class and I wasn't going to say anything.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I'm just going to do it my way.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I don't give two shits whether my teacher approves of it or not.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I'm not here to get a pat on the back, right, I'm just, I'm here to learn and I'm here to integrate it my own way.
- 21:07Speaker 1: So that's what I did.
- 21:08Speaker 1: And then my beloved partner, my amazing partner, spoke up and said this is what Nicole did.
- 21:13Speaker 1: And I feel so bad because this is happening all the time I class.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I was partnered with Nicole.
- 21:29Speaker 1: She's a medium, this is how she approached it and I was like he's gonna hate me, he's gonna hate me so much Not that I care, but it just makes me laugh and it was just interesting because he was like.
- 21:39Speaker 1: He was both like yeah, do it your way.
- 21:48Speaker 1: But then he's like but you're not supposed to do it that way.
- 21:49Speaker 1: And so it was just really interesting to me to have this like amazing experience and have the teacher be like yeah, it's okay, you don't, you don't, you should still do it this way because of XYZ, and it's his belief and it's his opinion and he's running the class and I understand he needs to maintain control of the class.
- 22:00Speaker 1: But I think this is what I mean when I'm saying do it your way, regardless of other people and especially your teacher, and how they're going to react, because he doesn't have to agree with the way that I do it and I am completely unbothered that he wanted to write off my way of doing it because I wasn't even I didn't want to share it with him.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I'm just going to keep that for myself and continue to do this tool, this work, in the way that I think is the best way to do it.
- 22:25Speaker 1: So it was just really interesting to hear a teacher's perspective and be the student in those shoes, because I'm always telling my students I want you to do it your way, I want you to disagree with me, I want you to find your way with it, and I celebrate my students when they do it their way, when they find their own way.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Like I, have students that prefer to do the Tyler Henry thing and draw all over.
- 22:46Speaker 1: While they connect with mediumship Fantastic, they want to keep their eyes closed.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Cool, that's great.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Know that a certain point you're going to want to keep your eyes open with clients so that you're not running for 10 minutes, right, like so.
- 22:58Speaker 1: There's pluses and minuses, but do it your way, Celebrate that, and to be the one that was like on the receiving end of a coach that was like, no, you're supposed to do it this way.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Is that what you all go through Like in your classes?
- 23:14Speaker 1: Is that what you and this is why I shied away from teachers for so long is because they, they don't empower their students and because I just naturally, it's in my blood, it's in my DNA that I will take information from you and I will turn it into something better.
- 23:35Speaker 1: That's literally what I did in corporate America for 20 plus years, like I'm going to okay, great, tell me how to do it, I'm going to do it my way, I'm going to make it better, I'm going to make it more efficient, I'm going to make it more effective and I'm going to take that and that's what I'm going to move forward with.
- 23:48Speaker 1: And we have teachers out there that want to gatekeep and say you can't do it that way.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Why not?
- 23:53Speaker 1: Do you think that this as lightworkers, to change the model, to change the way we do it?
- 24:06Speaker 1: And at this point I have to bring up that not only am I learning shamanism from this class, but now I'm continuing to read more books and I'm going to hold up two books on the camera.
- 24:16Speaker 1: I'll describe them.
- 24:17Speaker 1: So the first one I read is in the middle of it.
- 24:21Speaker 1: It's really dry.
- 24:21Speaker 1: It's good information, but it's really dry.
- 24:24Speaker 1: It's hard to read.
- 24:24Speaker 1: I fall asleep every time I try to pick this thing up.
- 24:27Speaker 1: But it's called the Shamanic Experience by Kenneth Meadows, and I bought this book because I had a dream about this book.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I had a dream that my guys told me I needed to learn about shamanism and they showed me a blue book and they're telling me this was the book in my dream and I was in a store.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I was like going through the bookshelves and there was a blue book on shamanism.
- 24:48Speaker 1: So I literally went online the next day and I searched Amazon for a blue shamanic book and this is the only one that was there.
- 24:54Speaker 1: So this is the one, and I really like this book because it talks about the different variations of shamanism.
- 25:03Speaker 1: This is not a specific like type of shamanic practice or learnings.
- 25:09Speaker 1: They talk about all of the shamanism.
- 25:11Speaker 1: They talk about all of them and how they all use these different tools and these different rattles and these different drums and what's the difference between all the different shaman?
- 25:19Speaker 1: And that's what I want.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I don't want to know one specific way, I want to know all the ways and I want to be able to take the best of the best and what resonates for me and run with it.
- 25:30Speaker 1: So that was the perfect book for my guides.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Hopefully I can not fall asleep through the rest of it.
- 25:35Speaker 1: And then I also picked up and this this is a book that keeps coming up as an ad on Instagram, which cracks me up because I already have it the Cauldron and the Drum.
- 25:44Speaker 1: So it's the journey into Celtic shamanism and it's by Rhonda McCrimmon and I first page of this book.
- 25:52Speaker 1: It was incredible.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I'm going to paraphrase it because I don't know where it is.
- 25:57Speaker 1: It's definitely bookmarked somewhere in here.
- 25:58Speaker 1: You know what I think?
- 26:00Speaker 1: I did a bottom bookmark and I dog ear everything and then I do bottom dog ears, so they're really important stuff.
- 26:07Speaker 1: But essentially what this book started out, as is the celtic shamanism way, was lost because they stamped out, I'm gonna say, like the shamanic, the pagan practices, etc.
- 26:19Speaker 1: When, uh, the catholics came in and the protestants came in right like they, like all of that was stamped out.
- 26:24Speaker 1: So essentially, the Celtic shamanic journey is rediscovering and learning about these roots, but not having direct descendants or teachers able to teach a lot of this stuff.
- 26:33Speaker 1: And she goes on in the book to say but that's the practice of shamanism, it's not about doing it the right way, it's about learning how it works for you and continuously evolving it so that you can implement it in a way that works for you and I love that and I think that's exactly my perspective.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Is it and it's?
- 26:57Speaker 1: And there's this dichotomy in me that says I don't want to culturally appropriate right in me that says I don't want to culturally appropriate right, which is why I went with an Incan Ikiero shamanic practice, because they want everyone to experience it, but versus more Native American shamanic practices that are closed and that they don't.
- 27:15Speaker 1: So it's this really interesting dichotomy for me about should I, shouldn't I.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Am I culturally appropriating by learning the magic of Mother Earth and trying to learn some of these tools?
- 27:28Speaker 1: And I don't think it is.
- 27:30Speaker 1: And I'm going to say it this way, because I think that Mother Earth wants us to work with her.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I think that we need to evolve our practices and I think it would be a cultural appropriation to do it in the way that they wanted us to do it or that sorry in the way that they did it, to try to copy and replicate, then I think that's not okay.
- 27:52Speaker 1: But if we're going to take their teachings and we're going to make it our own and we're going to do things in a way that resonate for us in this modern time and helping people, and if the good, the outcome, is helping people, then I don't think that we could ever steer off course from the shamanic practices.
- 28:11Speaker 1: So what that looks like for me is I will probably continue to incorporate all types of shamanic practices into mine and I think it's going to get to this melting pot, because we're here in America, melting pot of shamanic practices.
- 28:26Speaker 1: For me, that is going to incorporate the Keto lineage, the Native American lineage, the Celtic lineage, the pagan lineage, the Druid lineage, because why not?
- 28:36Speaker 1: Why not take the best of the best and swirl them all together and make something new?
- 28:41Speaker 1: And I think that is going to be my motto with all of my spiritual work let's find the best of the best and swirl them all together and make something new.
- 28:43Speaker 1: And I think that is going to be my motto with all of my spiritual work let's find the best of the best, let's bring it together and let's make it something new and something that is more impactful than ever, because, lord knows, we need the most impactful healing and perspective and communications that we can get right now.
- 28:59Speaker 1: And, by the way, shamanism spirit is reminding me is essentially the process or how Native people, indigenous people, connected to spirit Bottom line, that's how they connected to spirit.
- 29:15Speaker 1: So there's nothing wrong with exploring these things in a way that you feel comfortable exploring them.
- 29:22Speaker 1: So that's that's my mo for today.
- 29:25Speaker 1: That is, that is my message for today.
- 29:27Speaker 1: So I hope you liked this.
- 29:29Speaker 1: I'm going to stop saying that.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I'm going to set that intention right now.
- 29:32Speaker 1: So I hope I don't know.
- 29:35Speaker 1: So that's my shamanic.
- 29:37Speaker 1: That is my shamanic episode today.
- 29:39Speaker 1: You would not still be listening if you weren't interested in this.
- 29:41Speaker 1: So thank you for being here.
- 29:43Speaker 1: If you have any questions about the shamanic work, my next weekend's coming up.
- 29:46Speaker 1: I'll probably do another podcast episode about that.
- 29:48Speaker 1: I will absolutely share what's coming next.
- 29:50Speaker 1: As we move into, I think we are out of the body.
- 29:53Speaker 1: It's a trimester, so it's three classes or three, three months of, like, physical work, and then it's three months of mental and then I think it's three months of spiritual.
- 30:01Speaker 1: So I'm not sure what's coming up next, but I will keep you posted, all right.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Thank you so much, everybody.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I hope you have a wonderful day.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Take care.
