- 0:00Speaker 1: Chapters twelve through nineteen. Chapters twelve through sixteen dream vision
- 0:06Speaker 1: of Enoch, his intercession for Azazal and the fallen angels,
- 0:10Speaker 1: and his announcement to them of their first and final
- 0:13Speaker 1: doom Chapter twelve. Before these things, Enoch was hidden, and
- 0:18Speaker 1: no one of the children of men knew where he
- 0:21Speaker 1: was hidden and where he abode, and what had become
- 0:24Speaker 1: of him, And his activities had to do with the watchers,
- 0:28Speaker 1: and his days were with the holy ones. And I
- 0:31Speaker 1: Enoch was blessing, the Lord of Majesty in the King
- 0:34Speaker 1: of the Ages. And lo the watchers called me Enuch
- 0:38Speaker 1: the scribe, and said to me Enoch, thou scribe of righteousness, go,
- 0:42Speaker 1: declare to the watchers of the heaven, who have left
- 0:45Speaker 1: the High Heaven the holy eternal place, and have defiled
- 0:48Speaker 1: themselves with women, and have done as the children of
- 0:51Speaker 1: earth do, and have taken unto themselves wives. Ye have
- 0:55Speaker 1: wrought great destruction on the earth, and ye shall have
- 0:59Speaker 1: no peace nor forgiveness of sin. And inasmuch as they
- 1:02Speaker 1: delight themselves in their children, the murder of their beloved
- 1:06Speaker 1: ones shall they see, And over the destruction of their
- 1:10Speaker 1: children shall they lament, and shall make supplication unto eternity,
- 1:14Speaker 1: but mercy and peace shall ye not attain. Chapter thirteen.
- 1:20Speaker 1: And Enoch went and said, Azazel, thou shalt have no peace.
- 1:24Speaker 1: A severe sentence has gone forth against THEE, to put
- 1:26Speaker 1: THEE in bonds, And thou shalt not have toleration nor
- 1:30Speaker 1: request granted to THEE because of the unrighteousness which thou
- 1:33Speaker 1: hast taught, and because of all the works of godlessness
- 1:37Speaker 1: and unrighteousness and sin which thou hast shown to men.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Then I went and spoke to them altogether, and they
- 1:43Speaker 1: were all afraid, and fear and trembling seized them. And
- 1:46Speaker 1: they besought me to draw up a petition for them
- 1:48Speaker 1: that they might find forgiveness, and to read their petition
- 1:52Speaker 1: in the presence of the Lord of Heaven, for from
- 1:54Speaker 1: thenceforward they could not speak with him nor lift up
- 1:57Speaker 1: their eyes to Heaven, for shame of their sins for
- 2:00Speaker 1: which they had been condemned. Then I wrote out their
- 2:04Speaker 1: petition and the prayer in regard to their spirits and
- 2:06Speaker 1: their deeds individually, and in regard to their requests, that
- 2:10Speaker 1: they should have forgiveness and length of days. And I
- 2:13Speaker 1: went off and sat down at the waters of Dan,
- 2:16Speaker 1: in the land of Dan, to the south of the
- 2:18Speaker 1: west of Herman. I read their petition till I fell asleep,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and behold, a dream came to me, and visions fell
- 2:25Speaker 1: down upon me, and I saw visions of chastisement. And
- 2:28Speaker 1: a voice came bidding me, I tell it to the
- 2:31Speaker 1: Sons of Heaven and reprimand them. And when I waked,
- 2:35Speaker 1: I came unto them, and they were all sitting gathered together,
- 2:38Speaker 1: weeping in abbaz Jail, which is between Lebanon and Seniser,
- 2:43Speaker 1: with their faces covered. And I recounted before them all
- 2:46Speaker 1: the visions which I had seen in sleep. And I
- 2:49Speaker 1: began to speak the words of the Righteousness and to
- 2:52Speaker 1: reprimand the Heavenly Watchers Chapter fourteen, The Book of the
- 2:57Speaker 1: Words of Righteousness and of the reprimand of the Atrene
- 3:00Speaker 1: Colonel Watchers, in accordance with the command of the Holy
- 3:02Speaker 1: Great One. In that vision, I saw in my sleep
- 3:06Speaker 1: what I will now say with a tongue of flesh
- 3:08Speaker 1: and with the breath of my mouth, which the Great
- 3:11Speaker 1: One has given to men to converse therewith and understand
- 3:14Speaker 1: with the heart as he is created, and given to
- 3:17Speaker 1: man the power of understanding the word of wisdom, So
- 3:20Speaker 1: hath he created me also and given me the power
- 3:24Speaker 1: of reprimanding the watchers the children of heaven. I wrote
- 3:28Speaker 1: out your petition, and in my vision it appeared thus
- 3:31Speaker 1: that your petition will not be granted unto you throughout
- 3:34Speaker 1: all the days of eternity, and that judgment has been
- 3:38Speaker 1: finally passed upon you. Yea, your petition will not be
- 3:41Speaker 1: granted unto you, And from henceforth you shall not ascend
- 3:45Speaker 1: into heaven, into all eternity, and in bonds of the earth.
- 3:49Speaker 1: The decree has gone forth to bind you for all
- 3:52Speaker 1: the days of the world, And that previously you shall
- 3:56Speaker 1: have seen the destruction of your beloved sons, and you
- 3:59Speaker 1: shall have no pleasure in them. But they shall fall
- 4:02Speaker 1: before you by the sword, and your petition on their
- 4:05Speaker 1: behalf shall not be granted, nor yet on your own,
- 4:09Speaker 1: even though you weep and pray and speak all the
- 4:11Speaker 1: words contained in the writing which I have written. And
- 4:15Speaker 1: the vision was shown to me. Thus behold, in the vision,
- 4:19Speaker 1: clouds invited me, and a mist summoned me, and the
- 4:23Speaker 1: course of the stars, and the lightning sped and hastened me,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and the winds in the vision caused me to fly
- 4:29Speaker 1: and lifted me upward and bore me into heaven. And
- 4:33Speaker 1: I went in till I drew nigh to a wall
- 4:35Speaker 1: which is built of crystals and surrounded by tongues of fire,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and it began to affright me. And I went into
- 4:42Speaker 1: the tongues of fire, and drew nigh to a large
- 4:45Speaker 1: house which was built of crystals. And the walls of
- 4:48Speaker 1: the house were like a tessellated floor made of crystals,
- 4:51Speaker 1: and its groundwork was of crystal. Its ceiling was like
- 4:55Speaker 1: the path of the stars and the lightnings and between
- 4:59Speaker 1: them were fiery cherubim, and their heaven was clear as water.
- 5:03Speaker 1: A flaming fire surrounded the walls, and its portals blazed
- 5:07Speaker 1: with fire. And I entered into that house, and it
- 5:10Speaker 1: was hot as fire and cold as ice. There were
- 5:13Speaker 1: no delights of life therein fear covered me, and trembling
- 5:17Speaker 1: got hold upon me. And as I quaked and trembled,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I fell upon my face, and I beheld a vision,
- 5:24Speaker 1: and lo, there was a second house, greater than the former.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And the entire portal stood open before me, and it
- 5:30Speaker 1: was built of flames of fire, and in every respect
- 5:34Speaker 1: it so excelled in splendor and magnificence and extent that
- 5:38Speaker 1: I cannot describe to you its splendor and its extent,
- 5:42Speaker 1: And its floor was of fire, and above it were
- 5:45Speaker 1: lightnings and the path of the stars, and its ceiling
- 5:49Speaker 1: also was flaming fire. And I looked and saw therein
- 5:53Speaker 1: a lofty throne. Its appearance was as crystal in the
- 5:56Speaker 1: wheels thereof as the shining sun, and there was the
- 5:59Speaker 1: vision of Cherubim. And from underneath the throne came streams
- 6:03Speaker 1: of flaming fire, so that I could not look thereon.
- 6:07Speaker 1: And the great glory sat thereon, and his raiment shone
- 6:10Speaker 1: more brightly than the sun, and was whiter than any snow.
- 6:14Speaker 1: None of the angels could enter and could behold his
- 6:18Speaker 1: face by reason of the magnificence and glory, and no
- 6:21Speaker 1: flesh could behold him. The flaming fire was round about him,
- 6:26Speaker 1: and a great fire stood before him, and none around
- 6:29Speaker 1: could draw nigh him. Ten thousand times ten thousand stood
- 6:34Speaker 1: before him, Yet he needed no counselor, And the most
- 6:38Speaker 1: holy ones who were nigh to him did not leave
- 6:41Speaker 1: by night, nor depart from him. And until then I
- 6:45Speaker 1: had been prostrate on my face trembling. And the Lord
- 6:49Speaker 1: called me with his own mouth and said to me,
- 6:51Speaker 1: come hither, Enoch, and hear my word. And one of
- 6:55Speaker 1: the holy ones came to me and waked me, and
- 6:58Speaker 1: he made me rise up and approach the door. And
- 7:01Speaker 1: I bowed my face downwards Chapter fifteen. And he answered
- 7:06Speaker 1: and said to me, and I heard his voice, fear not, Enoch,
- 7:10Speaker 1: thou righteous men and scribe of righteousness, approach hither and
- 7:14Speaker 1: hear my voice, and go. Say to the watchers of heaven,
- 7:17Speaker 1: who have sent Thee to intercede for them, you should
- 7:20Speaker 1: intercede for men, and not men for you. Wherefore have
- 7:25Speaker 1: ye left the high, holy and eternal heaven and lain
- 7:28Speaker 1: with women, and defiled yourselves with the daughters of men,
- 7:32Speaker 1: and taken to yourselves wives, and done like the children
- 7:35Speaker 1: of earth, and begotten giants as your sons. And though
- 7:40Speaker 1: you were holy, spiritual, living the eternal life, you have
- 7:43Speaker 1: defiled yourselves with the blood of women, and have begotten
- 7:47Speaker 1: children with the blood of flesh. And as the children
- 7:50Speaker 1: of men, have lusted after flesh and blood, as those
- 7:53Speaker 1: also do who die and perish. Therefore have I given
- 7:57Speaker 1: them wives also that they might impregnate them, and beget
- 8:00Speaker 1: children by them, that thus nothing might be wanting to
- 8:03Speaker 1: them on earth. But you were formerly spiritual, living, the
- 8:07Speaker 1: eternal life, and immortal for all generations of the world.
- 8:11Speaker 1: And therefore I have not appointed wives for you. For
- 8:14Speaker 1: as for the spiritual ones of the heaven, in heaven
- 8:18Speaker 1: is their dwelling. And now the giants who are produced
- 8:21Speaker 1: from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits
- 8:24Speaker 1: upon the earth, and on the earth shall be their dwelling.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Evil spirits have proceeded from their bodies, because they are
- 8:31Speaker 1: born from men, and from the Holy Watchers is their
- 8:34Speaker 1: beginning and primal origin. They shall be evil spirits on earth,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and evil spirits shall they be called. As for the
- 8:43Speaker 1: spirits of heaven. In heaven shall be their dwelling. But
- 8:47Speaker 1: as for the spirits of the earth, which were born
- 8:49Speaker 1: upon the earth, on the earth shall be their dwelling.
- 8:53Speaker 1: And the spirits of the giants afflict, oppress, destroy, attack,
- 8:58Speaker 1: do battle, and work destruction on the earth, and cause trouble.
- 9:02Speaker 1: They take no food, but nevertheless hunger and thirst and
- 9:06Speaker 1: cause offenses. And these spirits shall rise up against the
- 9:09Speaker 1: children of men and against the women, because they have
- 9:13Speaker 1: proceeded from them Chapter sixteen, from the days of the
- 9:17Speaker 1: slaughter and destruction and death of the giants, from the
- 9:20Speaker 1: souls of whose flesh the spirits, having gone forth, shall
- 9:24Speaker 1: destroy without incurring judgment. Thus shall they destroy until the
- 9:28Speaker 1: day of the Consummation, the great judgment, in which the
- 9:32Speaker 1: age shall be consummated over the watchers and the godless
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yea shall be wholly consummated. And now as to the
- 9:40Speaker 1: watchers who have sent thee to intercede for them, who
- 9:43Speaker 1: had been aforetime in heaven, say to them, you have
- 9:46Speaker 1: been in heaven, but all the mysteries had not yet
- 9:50Speaker 1: been revealed to you, and you knew worthless ones, and these,
- 9:54Speaker 1: in the hardness of your hearts you have made known
- 9:56Speaker 1: to the women. And through these mysteries, women and men
- 10:00Speaker 1: work much evil on earth. Say to them, therefore you
- 10:05Speaker 1: have no peace. Chapters seventeen through thirty seven. Enox Journey
- 10:11Speaker 1: through the Earth and Shiole chapters seventeen through nineteen. The
- 10:16Speaker 1: first Journey chapter seventeen. And they took and brought me
- 10:21Speaker 1: to a place in which those who were there were
- 10:23Speaker 1: like flaming fire. And when they wished, they appeared as men,
- 10:28Speaker 1: and they brought me to the place of darkness, and
- 10:30Speaker 1: to a mountain, the point of whose summit reached to heaven.
- 10:33Speaker 1: And I saw the places of the luminaries, and the
- 10:36Speaker 1: treasuries of the stars, and of the thunder, and in
- 10:40Speaker 1: the uttermost depths, where were a fiery bow and arrows
- 10:43Speaker 1: and their quiver, and a fiery sword, and all the lightnings.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And they took me to the living waters, and to
- 10:50Speaker 1: the fire of the west, which receives every setting of
- 10:53Speaker 1: the sun. And I came to a river of fire,
- 10:55Speaker 1: in which the fire flows like water, and discharges itself
- 10:59Speaker 1: into the great sea. Towards the west. I saw the
- 11:02Speaker 1: great rivers, and came to the great river, and to
- 11:05Speaker 1: the great darkness, and went to the place where no
- 11:08Speaker 1: flesh walks. I saw the mountains of the darkness of winter,
- 11:13Speaker 1: and the place whence all the waters of the deep flow.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I saw the mouths of all the rivers of the earth,
- 11:19Speaker 1: and the mouth of the Deep Chapter eighteen. I saw
- 11:24Speaker 1: the treasuries of all the winds. I saw how He
- 11:27Speaker 1: had furnished with them the whole creation and the firm
- 11:30Speaker 1: foundation of the earth. And I saw the cornerstone of
- 11:33Speaker 1: the Earth. I saw the four winds which bear the
- 11:36Speaker 1: Earth and the firmament of the heaven. And I saw
- 11:39Speaker 1: how the winds stretched out the vaults of heaven and
- 11:42Speaker 1: have their station between heaven and Earth. These are the
- 11:46Speaker 1: pillars of the heaven. And I saw the winds of Heaven,
- 11:49Speaker 1: which turn and bring the circumference of the Sun and
- 11:52Speaker 1: all the stars to their setting. I saw the winds
- 11:56Speaker 1: on the earth carrying the clouds. I saw the paths
- 11:59Speaker 1: of the air angels. I saw at the end of
- 12:01Speaker 1: the earth the firmament of the heaven above. And I
- 12:04Speaker 1: proceeded and saw a place which burns day and night,
- 12:07Speaker 1: where there are seven mountains of magnificent stones, three towards
- 12:12Speaker 1: the east and three towards the south. And as for
- 12:15Speaker 1: those towards the east, one was of colored stone, and
- 12:18Speaker 1: one of pearl, and one of jacinth, and those towards
- 12:22Speaker 1: the south of red stone. But the middle one reached
- 12:26Speaker 1: to heaven like the throne of God of alabaster. And
- 12:29Speaker 1: the summit of the throne was of sapphire. And I
- 12:31Speaker 1: saw a flaming fire. And beyond these mountains is a
- 12:35Speaker 1: region the end of the great Earth. There the heavens
- 12:39Speaker 1: were completed. And I saw a deep abyss with columns
- 12:42Speaker 1: of heavenly fire, and among them I saw columns of
- 12:46Speaker 1: fire fall which were beyond measure, alike towards the height
- 12:50Speaker 1: and towards the depth. And beyond that abyss, I saw
- 12:53Speaker 1: a place which had no firmament of the heaven above,
- 12:56Speaker 1: and no firmly founded earth beneath it. There was no
- 13:00Speaker 1: water upon it, and no birds. But it was a
- 13:02Speaker 1: waste and horrible place. I saw there seven stars, like
- 13:07Speaker 1: great burning mountains, And to me, when I inquired regarding them,
- 13:11Speaker 1: the angel said, this place is the end of heaven
- 13:14Speaker 1: and earth. This has become a prison for the stars
- 13:18Speaker 1: and the host of heaven. And the stars which roll
- 13:20Speaker 1: over the fire are they which have transgressed the commandment
- 13:24Speaker 1: of the Lord in the beginning of their rising, because
- 13:27Speaker 1: they did not come forth at their appointed times. And
- 13:30Speaker 1: he was wroth with them and bound them until the
- 13:32Speaker 1: time when their guilt should be consummated, even for ten
- 13:36Speaker 1: thousand years. Chapter nineteen. And Uriel said to me, here
- 13:41Speaker 1: shall stand the angels, who have connected themselves with women
- 13:45Speaker 1: and their spirits, assuming many different forms, are defiling mankind,
- 13:49Speaker 1: and shall lead them astray into sacrificing to demons, as gods.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Here shall they stand till the day of the great
- 13:56Speaker 1: judgment in which they shall be judged, till they are
- 13:59Speaker 1: made an end. And the women also of the angels
- 14:03Speaker 1: who went astray, shall become sirens. And I, Enoch alone,
- 14:08Speaker 1: saw the vision the ends of all things, And no
- 14:12Speaker 1: man shall see as I have seen. End of Section three.
