- 0:38Yes. All of them have This is one
- 0:41that needs an audience and yes and he said supporters, it needs
- 0:44its supporters and spoiler for the rest of this episode.
- 0:47Two of them are rise right here. But first a quick announcement,

- 1:14Yep, we'll have it out. We are in have an idea of what
- 1:16we're doing. It's just a matter of timing
- 1:20getting it done, but we promise it'll be ready before this month
- 1:24is already out of the month. Yeah so don't worry.
- 1:25It's coming. Yep.
- 1:27Unless it's already come. And listen then then we're not
- 1:31aligned gradually as of this day it's coming but maybe as already
- 1:35come yeah. If we don't know it's a surprise
- 1:39everybody. All right, so you got anything
- 1:43else? You know.
- 1:45Okay cool. Alright let's talk about the
- 1:47polls. Okay so last week we talked
- 1:49chopping mall, with our friends, Eric, and Vivi, with shaken, not
- 1:52scared podcast. Yes.
- 1:54And one of the main parts of that movie was going over to the
- 1:59Absurd moments. So we wanted to know, what was
- 2:01the most absurd moment in shopping mall?
- 2:04So on Instagram, 23% of the people voted Susie stuff as the
- 2:09most absurd moment. Okay?
- 2:1138 percent voted Rick's to mph death Collision, Okay, eight
- 2:16percent voted 30s. Toilet paper to the Head.
- 2:19Okay. And 31 percent voted.
- 2:21You smell like pepperoni okay over on Twitter which I guess we
- 2:26still get to do Twitter. Polls for now.
- 2:28That's true. Yeah as of now it's still a
- 2:30thing thank God but over there Seventeen percent voted for
- 2:34Suzy's death, 33 percent voted for Ricky's to mph Collision.
- 2:3950% voted for you smell like pepperoni 0% for 30 steep He had
- 2:45everybody thought that that was perfectly reasonable over there.
- 2:48Well, that just makes me think it's even more absurd.
- 2:50Yes, exactly. I think mine is the Rick moment.
- 2:57The to mph driving into the shopping mall but dying, killing
- 3:03the robot in the process. It was it was wild.
- 3:08I don't know if you can be topped, I'm going to say Susie
- 3:10because there were a ton of bystanders there that could have
- 3:13helped her. That's true.
- 3:14I mean, her friends, who betrayed her Boyfriend too.
- 3:19I mean I don't think he missed that but still like he could
- 3:22have helped. I mean, whatever man, the movie
- 3:24is full of absurdity, those are just some of the moments but
- 3:28those are our opinions of in your house, opinions of the most
- 3:31absurd moment. So thank you guys for
- 3:32participating. Okay.
- 3:34Alright, let's talk about screen 3.
- 3:35It's like that's great three baby.
- 3:36All right. Okay, so Scream 3, premiered,
- 3:40February, 4th 2000. We watched it on our DVD.
- 3:44But as of April 22nd 2023, you can stream it on Pluto TV,
- 3:49YouTube prime time or prime premium or you can rent it
- 3:52through Google Play Red Box or Voodoo, okay?
- 3:55This was written by Aaron Krueger based off of characters,
- 3:58created by Kevin, Williamson directed by Wes Craven music by
- 4:02Marco Beltrami, and special effects makeup by Jacob Garber.
- 4:05Do you think because it was a new decade Kevin Williamson.
- 4:10Finally disappeared. It's like he was like his, it
- 4:15was like a curse, but a blessing, like yes, you will be
- 4:17relevant. Only in this one decade.
- 4:19No. Okay, it's not what happened?
- 4:21Okay, we'll get there. I'm sure, yes, starring.
- 4:25Neve Campbell is Chris as Sidney, Prescott.
- 4:27Courteney Cox is Gale weathers. David Arquette is Dewey.
- 4:30Riley, Parker Posey is Jennifer, Joey, Patrick.
- 4:33Warburton is Steven Stone. Scott Foley is from and Bridger.
- 4:37Patrick Dempsey is Mark, Kincaid.
- 4:38Roger Jackson as the voice and Cosmos and solar golden
- 4:42retrievers as Cherokee. So, there are two dogs that
- 4:45point. Yeah, do you?
- 4:48No, did you notice a difference between the two?
- 4:50I didn't either. Yeah, they had a trainer that
- 4:53made sure that it would go and, like, play, and get water and
- 4:56food, and stuff, whenever it needed to, and that's kind of
- 4:59how it in like enticed them to. That's cool.
- 5:02Yeah, good for them, good for you okay.
- 5:05Travis, yeah, budget or back Ted budgets.
- 5:08Yes, this is the biggest budget of the screen.
- 5:11Franchise up to this point. 15 million know how much 40
- 5:17million. 40 million, 40 million. Wow.
- 5:20What the fuck? Did they the explosion?
- 5:24A plus it was just like a lot like a big cast.
- 5:27Yeah they're like we can only do one Ghostface Killah afford one.
- 5:31This time around opening weekend, it made 34 million but
- 5:36a total worldwide gross of 161 million.
- 5:39Pretty good. Currently sitting at a five
- 5:41point six out of 10 on IMDb. That's um, Yeah, that's not.
- 5:47I mean, that's okay. Where is to app?
- 5:51I'm going to pull up some remember where she was at to is
- 5:53somewhere in the 6s because I feel like I was kind of
- 5:55surprised that to being low ish. I think, let me see screen to
- 6:01has an IMDb score of six point three.
- 6:04Okay, so it's not too far off. So I pulled three other movies,
- 6:11okay? Which are interesting for a few
- 6:14different reasons. So this first one, I think it'll
- 6:16be obvious. Why I pulled it okay?
- 6:20Scary movie. Oh okay, in 2000, July 7th,
- 6:24perfect budget of 19 million. Wow, a worldwide gross of 278
- 6:30million. Damn scary movie out did scream.
- 6:32Yeah, I'm sure Steve is only like 3 billion of that.
- 6:38Yeah, that has a 6 point 2 out of 10 on IMDb impressive.
- 6:45That's a, that's a really good movie though.
- 6:47Yeah, even credit the second movie I picked because it's also
- 6:51dealing with high schoolers meeting violent deaths, which
- 6:54will be important when we get into some of the background
- 6:56discussion of this movie. Okay, Final Destination.
- 6:59Hey, nice. So that was released March 17
- 7:032012. That's my mom's birthday.
- 7:05Oh, Budget of 23 million worldwide, gross of 112 million,
- 7:13another huge movie. Hmm.
- 7:14That's a good one. Has a six point seven out of 10
- 7:17on IMDb. That's rude.
- 7:19I need to be way higher does. That's like that was such a huge
- 7:23movie and it was so refreshing. Yeah, you know, I could, it's a
- 7:26classic fun fact, the scene I did, and if your XIV, I was, I
- 7:33interacted quite a bit, was creator of Final Destination.
- 7:36Jeffrey Redick. Yes.
- 7:37No, big deal. And then the third movie I
- 7:43picked because of the excessive amounts of violence and it's a
- 7:48movie. We've actually already talked
- 7:50about with friend of the show. Robert, atone, American Psycho
- 7:54American Psycho. Yeah, that was released April
- 7:5714th. 2000 on a 7 million dollar budget.
- 8:01She eventually had a worldwide gross of 34 million.
- 8:04It is much more of a cult classic.
- 8:06That's still. A yeah so good Roi.
- 8:09Yeah and it has a seven point six out of ten on IMDb damn so
- 8:14that Whole Decade started out pretty strong.
- 8:17That's a good alignment but movies.
- 8:19Okay this says a lot of taglines I gave up and screenshotted okay
- 8:26I wrote the first couple and then I screenshot at the rest,
- 8:29I'm curious. Okay so the one on the poster is
- 8:32the most terrifying. Scream is always the last, hmm.
- 8:37Okay, this is probably one of the least terrifying, Scream
- 8:41movie. See, the final screen is going
- 8:44to be the loudest, okay? This is probably the loudest,
- 8:48yeah, yeah. In many ways.
- 8:51Okay, let's see, the third and final chapter in the trilogy
- 8:54that made you laugh and made you scream.
- 8:57Okay, the Millennium starts screaming, I feel like there's a
- 9:05call back there to Randy and The first one is the most, the New
- 9:08Millennium. Yeah.
- 9:10Everybody's a suspect. Nobody needs motive.
- 9:12Yeah. The money.
- 9:14I'm starts with Scream. Okay.
- 9:17The New Millennium begins in panic, but there's a lot of
- 9:20Millennium stuff and they were really pushing that hard snow
- 9:23Millennium, guys. We got really drilled that in
- 9:25here in order for Sidney Prescott to survive the future.
- 9:29She must look to the past. That's good.
- 9:32That does actually, that makes sense.
- 9:34Yeah, it's a little wordy. I feel like you could Get there
- 9:37in a few words, but I like the whole overall point of it.
- 9:42Rules of a Trilogy chapter one sets the rules chapter two
- 9:46bends, the rules. But in the finale, forget the
- 9:50rules. I like that.
- 9:54Someone has taken their love of Trilogy is one step too far
- 9:58again. Yes they do this day.
- 9:59Do this fucking tag line and everything that is.
- 10:02Yeah, I'm excited to see what we've got for screen for next
- 10:07month. I am too, I'll be disappointed.
- 10:11If it. Not there.
- 10:13Then we've already read that one.
- 10:16Welcome to the Final Act. Okay, I mean that's fine.
- 10:20If that's fine this if it were actually was the final one,
- 10:25which it was for 11 years. It was planned as a Trilogy.
- 10:28Yeah. Yeah.
- 10:32The best scream is always the last one.
- 10:34Just hope the last one. Isn't your own, okay?
- 10:38There's just some secrets, you can't reveal till the very end.
- 10:43Yeah. I mean I guess I could get to
- 10:45the point that there's a lot of Secrets going on in this one.
- 10:49Scream 3, the scare of the Millennium back to the
- 10:53Millennium, okay? Also that's a bold claim to make
- 10:55like, at the start of the Millennium the entire Millennium
- 10:58screen 3000 years. This is the, this is peak for go
- 11:02ahead and in the guys, February, we're done too bad.
- 11:10The rules of the trilogy, or die.
- 11:14Okay, I feel like if you obey the rules of the trilogy, you
- 11:17will die. Yeah, maybe that's it.
- 11:19Point, right, like everybody dies pretty much okay?
- 11:23All right, not too bad but I don't know.
- 11:26I feel like the scream series is kind of been lackluster with tag
- 11:29lines and general yeah I don't know what it is.
- 11:32I feel like you got material there, you could write something
- 11:34good there. The first one, had some good
- 11:36ones but yeah. Ever since, yeah, we'll see.
- 11:40All right, so this movie had a lot of issues during its
- 11:45production and yeah. So so, Notorious event that
- 11:52happened. Late 1999, the Columbine
- 11:55shooting. Oh yeah.
- 11:57Which created a lot of issues for the studio in particular.
- 12:01They were nervous to have this movie comes out.
- 12:04Given that there is already, a lot of talk about violence in
- 12:07media beforehand. It's something that had come up
- 12:09in the previous movies, and then especially now.
- 12:13That was something that they wanted to focus Less on the
- 12:15violence and more on the comedy stats.
- 12:18Higher part of the franchise, at least it's removed from school
- 12:21at this point. Well, you can't get rid of all
- 12:24violence in media. Hold on.
- 12:26I know the whole. What would have been?
- 12:29Yes, we're about to get into here.
- 12:31Yes. I'm very, I'm kind of aware of
- 12:33his so I'm excited to get the full details.
- 12:36Yeah, so as I've discussed previously, when Kevin
- 12:40Williamson auctioned his original script, he also had 25
- 12:43page outlines for two sequels. Mhm.
- 12:46So he was unable due to scheduling conflicts, to be
- 12:50involved in the full script development for this, for the
- 12:56final, you know, at the time the final movie even though he was
- 12:58contracted for it, it just, you know, it didn't work out.
- 13:01So they pulled in Ehren. Kruger, who hadn't been involved
- 13:03in any of the movies. So far that feels kind of meta
- 13:07and itself, right? Drinking Krueger in there too,
- 13:10right? Yeah, Wes Craven.
- 13:13So, there were a lot of issues with the script.
- 13:18With all of these pieces together.
- 13:19Because Ehren, Kruger hadn't been involved and the movies up
- 13:22until then, so he didn't fully understand all of the
- 13:25characters. And, in fact, in his original
- 13:27script, he made Sydney a bit of a Linda Hamilton and Terminator
- 13:312 is how they described her and Wes was like, no, that's not
- 13:36Sydney's characters. Like not a bad ass is like okay,
- 13:39I've know what to do now. Yeah.
- 13:40Not like she. I know I mean Sydney is a badass
- 13:42in her own right? But it's not an action star, you
- 13:44know. It's yeah.
- 13:45I mean Sidney is. I'm not saying she's not a bad
- 13:47aspect. Like, when you said, all right,
- 13:49I guess action star. So, and he said, in Ehren,
- 13:52Kruger has said in interviews that Wes Craven is basically an
- 13:55uncredited writer for this movie.
- 14:00Additionally, Kevin Williamson had left a bunch of notes for
- 14:04the script and those either got ignored by a cougar who didn't
- 14:07really know the characters very well or about the studio who did
- 14:10not want to deal with all the violence issues.
- 14:12So the original scripts that he had stabbed three was going to
- 14:17be Taking place in Woodsboro but it was also going to be filled
- 14:19in Woodsboro. It wasn't going to be filmed in
- 14:22Hollywood so there was going to be a stab fan club at the
- 14:26Woodsboro high school. So it was going to be all of
- 14:28these kids that were going to be involved and they were going to
- 14:30be killed and then at the end when Sydney is like in the house
- 14:33and there's like, been this mascara.
- 14:35She thinks already dead. Everybody always sun rises up.
- 14:38They're all still alive, they were all in on it and they were
- 14:40the killers and then that ends up.
- 14:43He ended up getting to use that premise for his 2013 show.
- 14:47Take called the following. I feel like a little bit of that
- 14:51bled over into screen for also with the film club.
- 14:54Yeah. Because in that because they
- 14:55have stabbed Athan. Yes, absolutely.
- 14:59So you know they didn't they didn't want to involve the high
- 15:02school. They didn't want to involve that
- 15:05much violence with young kids again, and then Ehren Kruger.
- 15:08In addition, to not really feeling the characters as much
- 15:11also felt that it was time to like take them out of Woodsboro,
- 15:15on to bigger better things. Never mind the fact that they
- 15:17were out of it's around the second movie.
- 15:19Yeah, it's fine. Yeah, I'm starting to notice
- 15:23that, like, it's this thing that, like, writers and
- 15:25directors are like, where she can come out of, you know,
- 15:27whatever, like they did that with Scream 6.
- 15:31That's what I was thinking too. We've had so many of the movies.
- 15:34Not take place in Woodsboro, half of them have not taken
- 15:37place in Woodsboro at this point.
- 15:38Did they ever establish how far that campus was from Woodsboro?
- 15:42Going to go high or something, wasn't it?
- 15:44Ohio, Indiana, some corn field. Where is what's bro?
- 15:48California, California. Yeah.
- 15:51Okay. Well, there are even here,
- 15:52they're not super far away than if it.
- 15:54I mean California is a gigantic stay.
- 15:56But yeah, I mean, come on. Yeah, so principal photography
- 16:02took place from July to September 1999, but the ending
- 16:05was we filmed in January 2000. Whoa.
- 16:08Yeah, remember and it premiered the beginning of February?
- 16:11Yeah, so that's a final hour. That's like Halloween inspires
- 16:15where they re film the ending of that like, A month before.
- 16:18Yeah, we came out and this is another movie that they were
- 16:21like constantly rewriting, the script sometimes, getting the
- 16:23pages day of filming. So what happened with the ending
- 16:28was they had Sydney easily, defeat Roman just like no big
- 16:32deal at all and then they're looking at and they're like well
- 16:34this doesn't make any sense for saying that in the trilogy,
- 16:37everybody's, you know, on the chopping block and it just
- 16:40doesn't, it doesn't feel like we have real Stakes with Sydney,
- 16:43beating him so easily, so they re film it where she gets shot.
- 16:48That's why it doesn't look like she's got the vest on for most
- 16:50of that final scene because she did it, it wasn't thought of
- 16:54Until the End. Wow.
- 16:56Yeah, and also Mark Kincaid wasn't originally there.
- 17:00Really? Yeah.
- 17:00When they re film that saying they're like you know his
- 17:02character just kind of disappears, let's throw him in
- 17:05here real quick so that way we have some resolution with him to
- 17:08be honest. I feel like the whole, I feel
- 17:11like they try and force him and Sydney together and it doesn't
- 17:16feel organic in this movie. Ali doesn't.
- 17:19Yeah, they needed to be more there for that.
- 17:21Yeah. So one of the other production
- 17:25issues is that because of the rising, Fame of the cast
- 17:29members, it was harder and harder to correlate our
- 17:32coordinate filming schedules. Neve Campbell actually only had
- 17:3620 days to shoot her Parts Jesus really?
- 17:39Yeah, yeah. So that's part of the reason
- 17:41she's not as on-screen as she has been in past movies.
- 17:46That's true. She is missing for a day.
- 17:47Decent compass. In a 2009 interview and I
- 17:51specified 2009 because lately everybody's had a bug up their
- 17:56ass about the fact that stew mocker could have survived.
- 17:59Yeah, so in a 2009 interview, Matthew Lillard said he was
- 18:04originally contacted to reprise his role.
- 18:07Yeah, I thought that that was their leading that coal, right?
- 18:10Yeah. But when they had to change the
- 18:14whole script, his part got next but that's why he's Edited but
- 18:19listed in the cast and I have to be so, is he hmm?
- 18:23Yeah, I mean, because I had always heard that that he was
- 18:26going to be like a liter of he was like, controlling things
- 18:29from behind bars, which is weird that they would never mention
- 18:32that he was arrested in the other movie.
- 18:35You know what I mean? Yeah, I guess.
- 18:37I feel like if he is alive, you would have known.
- 18:39I've never bought him surviving all of that.
- 18:42I just never have. I I feel like it's it makes it
- 18:45more realistic and more grounded if you keep him dead.
- 18:48And if you go To that territory with them being alive.
- 18:50They can it gets a little cartoony.
- 18:53Yeah. Then you start having Drew
- 18:54Barrymore, in interviews talking about how Casey Becker could
- 18:58have survived. Yeah.
- 18:59Dangling by her own guts, and the tree on her front lawn.
- 19:03Yeah. Totally made it.
- 19:04Yeah. Yep.
- 19:04I survived. That's what I have my phone
- 19:09back. All right.
- 19:10Very nice. As a lot of good stuff there.
- 19:11Yeah. So that was very much a movie
- 19:13that was influenced by the current events in a way that the
- 19:16previous movies were it ties. He's in a lot to what is
- 19:20relevant in media. This was directly influenced in
- 19:25a way beyond their control. And I think that's also really
- 19:28interesting when we get to Roman later with his tirade about how
- 19:32it's not his fault that there's all of this stuff happening and
- 19:36why should his money? I, why should his movie The
- 19:38punished? Yeah, I think there's a little
- 19:41bit of, there's a little bit of bitterness in that.
- 19:46Okay, cool. Also, Roger Corman makes a cameo
- 19:52as a study Jay and Silent Bob. This movie's got some, yeah, I
- 19:56appreciate the setting of Hollywood, I think that is kind
- 19:59of interesting for this series. Yeah, we'll get into that here
- 20:03in a little bit. Okay.
- 20:05Okay. So you want to do our Goods
- 20:07totally enter to be or not to be.
- 20:09We decided to yeah we liked how it flowed last week with Eric
- 20:12and vb0. We all did our Goods or bad or
- 20:15ugly Center absurd at the same time.
- 20:16So we're going to try it out for a little while.
- 20:18Yeah. Is hated, let us know.
- 20:19But for us conversationally, it makes sense because we tend to
- 20:23interject with one another. Yeah, exactly.
- 20:25So we can do funny way. Yeah.
- 20:27How we're going to do it from now on?
- 20:29All right, so the good for this thing, I'll lead off since this
- 20:32is your baby. This whole thing is my thing.
- 20:35My my my thing. Okay, so yeah, unlike a lot of
- 20:42people who enjoy this Cream franchise, I think that this is
- 20:46a good movie still. I think that the setting of
- 20:50Hollywood is really cool because I feel like it gives them an
- 20:52opportunity to discuss, not only the genre, but also the making
- 20:59of like all the behind the scenes things that go into
- 21:02making a horror movie and just all of these cameos, like you
- 21:07said, like, Roger corman's there and just like everything that
- 21:10they talk about, I feel like it's a good way for them to not
- 21:13only poke fun of like the horror genre but just in Hollywood in
- 21:16general and It gives them more of like a playground, I guess,
- 21:23you know, instead of keeping them in whisper, I think that is
- 21:25nice for them to get out of there.
- 21:27But like I said, I mean, it's not like they had before.
- 21:29Yeah. But you know, I like it.
- 21:32I think it's fine. I, yeah, I'm, I'm a defender of
- 21:36this movie. I do think it easily ranks lower
- 21:40in the whole franchise for me, not because it's a bad movie,
- 21:43but because this is just a strong fucking franchise.
- 21:47Yeah, the rest of the movies, Are just that much better.
- 21:49Yeah. It's not like a saying like oh,
- 21:51this is definitively the worst. It's just like, like the other
- 21:55ones better but I like this one a lot too.
- 21:57It's not saying that this is a bad movie.
- 22:00This isn't my least favorite in the series.
- 22:02Yeah I so and I think what makes this fun is like you said it is
- 22:07like this is a franchise, it's always been meta, always will be
- 22:12meta and I think them bringing the stabbed Universe into it.
- 22:18Even more make sense. I like the whole like Dynamic of
- 22:24the meeting their on-screen counterparts, like the people
- 22:27playing them, I feel like that when you do that, there's always
- 22:30room for fun moments. To be had yes, especially
- 22:34Parker. Posey is like Parker Posey as
- 22:38Jennifer jelly. Jennifer Jolie is an alternate
- 22:41Dimension Gale weathers but she's playing gentle weather's
- 22:43on screen and it's just it's so well done because I love their
- 22:49Dynamic to. Yeah.
- 22:50I mean and she's I feel like she's taking like a method
- 22:53acting approach and she's trying to be go.
- 22:55So it's like the when they were writing this movie, they're
- 22:57basically writing to Gales together.
- 22:59I think some of it's just her though.
- 23:01Some of it is, yeah, but I feel like she's also trying a lot of
- 23:04time. She's like my girl would do this
- 23:06and then she does it to like one up girl.
- 23:08You know what I mean? Although that could be her.
- 23:10Just I don't rush it. Yeah, that's just some of her
- 23:12own energy like that's just how she is as a person but she's
- 23:15justifying it because she's being targeted for.
- 23:18Deal weathers. And she's got her whole method
- 23:21of survival. She's also kind of white girl,
- 23:23do with the way that she that's action.
- 23:25Guess what I'm saying? Also, I want to Manifest this
- 23:28onto the universe. For the next whore, Survivor on
- 23:32dead meat, because we've had Gale weathers return as a fan
- 23:36favorite. This last night.
- 23:38Yes, I want. Jennifer Jolie to the yeah,
- 23:40that's a great idea. Dear dead me at care Beck.
- 23:44Everybody tweet her. Yeah.
- 23:47Don't get any more. Android's yeah, no, no more and
- 23:52Megan's also shout-out to JW Crump for also referring to
- 23:58mechanism through Regan. Yeah and for being in suit
- 24:02shopping mall like us. Fuck yeah dude.
- 24:07Okay, so as of this movie, all right.
- 24:12So there's a you can see that this connect on some of these
- 24:17characters Is where the rewrites were happening and they were
- 24:20forgetting people like. So, people would just disappear
- 24:23and then come back. Yeah.
- 24:25And I feel like kind of what I was saying before, I feel like
- 24:28Kincaid, if you wasn't really there, I feel like you can
- 24:31definitely see where he was jammed into this story.
- 24:33Yeah. And I guess especially like
- 24:36there's so many parts in this movie where they try and like I
- 24:40try and tell you that. He's interested in Sydney, but I
- 24:43never get that impression. I've not like the entire time
- 24:45he's doing his job. They're doing very much, a tell
- 24:47don't show. With that.
- 24:49Yeah. And I don't get the impression
- 24:50that she's interested in him and then at the end of the movie
- 24:53like he's over there with a swing is never had friends
- 24:56before. Travis.
- 24:58That's whole that whole thing is just a mystery.
- 25:00I'm excited to talk. It feels it does feel a little
- 25:04disjointed. I guess also I think my biggest
- 25:07problem with this movie is that this is the only one with a
- 25:11single killer. I like that actually.
- 25:14I think that that's kind of cool to see.
- 25:16I think like all of the other ones I think it's a fun Series
- 25:19where you have multiple Killers with the same Persona.
- 25:23However, I think that it's really interesting.
- 25:25Seeing one play out where it's just one guy the entire time.
- 25:29There's a lot more suspension of disbelief.
- 25:32Yeah, though, not something about it.
- 25:34Yeah, I guess what the other ones you have that crutch you
- 25:37can be like, well, there's two of them.
- 25:38So, I technically is possible. You don't have to wonder how
- 25:41they got here so fast, whereas like with this one, like it's
- 25:45like even on set. Yeah, he would know the set.
- 25:48But sometimes it's just like, how is he going to move that
- 25:50quickly through the set? Well, not only, I mean, I don't
- 25:52know, I feel like that stuff is fine but like also I think that
- 25:57like the fact that he is a director and he has like this
- 26:01much power over the people in general.
- 26:04I feel like it makes more sense because like, in one of those
- 26:08scenes, he's not even using the voice changer.
- 26:09He's just like straight-up talking pretending to be Roman
- 26:13to wear her there to kill her. You know what I mean?
- 26:16Like, I mean, you don't have to explain that.
- 26:18That I guess just it's a whole other type of dynamic, you know
- 26:22what I mean? Instead of like who is the
- 26:23killer like you know how like who this person is and you don't
- 26:26have to play that game although I think that that is part of the
- 26:29fun with this franchise as figuring out who's the killer?
- 26:32Yeah, the whodunit is always a big.
- 26:34Yeah, big piece of it. Yeah, the ugly.
- 26:42It's easy. Right?
- 26:42The whole like Hollywood especially because this is still
- 26:45a fucking Weinstein movie. Yeah.
- 26:49Oh God. Yeah, raise.
- 26:50That's a level of meadow where Lake.
- 26:52It's just so fucking gross and you feel like people working on
- 26:56this new. Yeah.
- 26:57Like I mean it was like all an Open Secret.
- 26:59It just there's so much about this movie.
- 27:01That's so upsetting. Because these are very real
- 27:03issues and there's so much victim blaming and it doesn't
- 27:07even really get Resolved because like oh that's why Sydney's mom
- 27:13is a quote-unquote. Slight is because she was
- 27:17assaulted by multiple men. Yeah that's the part especially
- 27:20right there like the whole meeting when they confront
- 27:23wincing rickson's character Milton.
- 27:25Yeah. It's like talkin about she knows
- 27:26she was signing up for ya thing. Like okay, dude, like it's just
- 27:30it's fucking gross to hear about but like That's like the not fun
- 27:34part that they're talking about where is like meta.
- 27:39But like I mean it's all true. You know what I mean?
- 27:42Like that is people's attitudes towards it.
- 27:44Yeah. It's not like that.
- 27:46Doesn't know what he's saying is true.
- 27:49I know I'm trying to clarify for me.
- 27:50Yeah, at all. He was right about that.
- 27:56And it honestly, because Angelina's character.
- 27:58She's the recast for Sydney. She reveals the end that she is.
- 28:03That's with that pig building with with a Jolene was her
- 28:08Jennifer Jennifer Jolene. Yeah.
- 28:09Because she says it, she slept with Roman and like it.
- 28:15There's part of it that makes me think of Starry Eyes.
- 28:20Oh yeah man. That was a fucked-up movie.
- 28:22Yeah, my movie. That's doesn't mean that seems
- 28:25about it. Yeah, that's the whole thing
- 28:26about it and it treats it very differently but also the same
- 28:29because they're still like that slight Cheney aspect.
- 28:31That victim blame me aspect. It and it's Chelsea that movie
- 28:35too. There's yeah, there's a lot
- 28:36going on in that movie. Yeah, um, but yeah, so this,
- 28:40it's a really hard to subject and because the focus on this
- 28:43was so much more comedy, but because it was coming from a
- 28:46studio with heavy influence from the weinsteins.
- 28:49It doesn't get at the time. It was gross in hindsight, it's
- 28:54even more. Yeah.
- 28:55Yeah. It was gross before it's gross
- 28:56or now. Yeah.
- 28:58So okay, yeah absurd. What's your absurd?
- 29:03My absurd is that cotton has his own talk show and it's called
- 29:07100% cotton. I fucking love that idea.
- 29:12I gotta say it because you're wearing the shirt, go ahead.
- 29:15So Travis bought this shirt, this vintage shop and he said, I
- 29:20want to buy more shirts of this material to which us and one of
- 29:23our, two of our friends had the exact same response which was
- 29:27what cotton, not just cotton, heavyweight Scott.
- 29:31It's heavy weight cotton, but there's it's a revolution for
- 29:35Travis, that's not looking comfortable.
- 29:37All I can think about the whole time for this him, 100% what
- 29:42cotton gonna start a talk show and cotton 100% cotton.
- 29:46I'm going to talk about when our present heavy weight cotton.
- 29:48This is about shirts like this. I get people that also wear this
- 29:51shirt and we just like Dan do like, the street?
- 29:54Aren't you comfortable? Right now?
- 29:54It's so comfortable. That's my next podcast.
- 29:57I'm picturing like TC tuggers from TC tuggers.
- 30:00I think you should leave. Said that the dragon off
- 30:04somewhere else doing it. Um, yeah, not that type of
- 30:07talking. I'm talking my shirt.
- 30:11Oh my God. This is our got off the rails.
- 30:13Sorry, I'm sorry. Okay, what's yours?
- 30:15That's your third moment. Oh my God.
- 30:19There's a lot of absurd in this movie.
- 30:21I think I think the explosion is Steven Stone as a character how
- 30:34he calls do we do. Drop the whole time piece of
- 30:38shit. He's the best.
- 30:41This is probably our only opportunity to be able to talk
- 30:44about. I said Warburton, Patrick
- 30:46Warburton because I don't think he does a lot of poor and it's
- 30:49going to be my only chance to do my bait, biter.
- 30:54Hey he does this a lot y'all as a game grumps thing.
- 30:57Yeah, it's caught on. And come on.
- 31:00It's just fun. If you, if you can do the voice
- 31:02if you can hit that like CDs. Hey but do drop by later.
- 31:07Dewdrop got a sport. The time comes, I'm just going
- 31:14to start saying dude, right? Okay, that all in awe.
- 31:20I love this movie. It's honestly, I don't, I don't
- 31:26think it deserves the hate, it gets, I guess.
- 31:28Like, I don't know if you have a certain expectations that it for
- 31:32the franchise. It's definitely different in
- 31:34tone but I still think it's a fun time.
- 31:37Yeah, I wonder if people are just available as bias as so
- 31:40Kevin Williamson movie and like automatically sign.
- 31:43I disregard it because of the I don't know like I think it's
- 31:46still Has its place. I think it's fun.
- 31:50It's a good time. I'm going to give it like a 7.5.
- 31:56Are going to give an 8.50. Okay.
- 31:59So we're starting off with an average of eight.
- 32:02All right, not too bad, that's really good for this movie.
- 32:06Absolutely. All right, we ready to talk
- 32:10about this one. We are so ready to talk about
- 32:13this one guy fucked up, writing the day that this came out So
- 32:17many times on my notes Here. We were talking before we get
- 32:20started in just a sec. What are we watching this on our
- 32:23DVD or Pluto and I said DVD, I'm sorry 3 in parentheses DVD as
- 32:28the release date but then I tried to correct it but instead
- 32:32I wrote 2010 this that was the your blood junkies.
- 32:36Yeah so I'm all fucked up with us so if you're bugged head or
- 32:43budget here on our patreon, so see his notes, that's That's
- 32:48what happened? Yeah, enjoy okay.
- 32:51So we start off with cotton he's in Hollywood he's on the phone
- 32:56with somebody and he's stuck in traffic.
- 32:58Yeah he's stuck in traffic. There is a multiple vehicle
- 33:01accident. So traffic is a basically a
- 33:03standstill and he's on the phone with like I guess is Agent or
- 33:08something and he's talking about like, you know, does it make
- 33:10sense for him to have this Cameo on this horror movie?
- 33:13When now he's looking nationally, syndicated talk show
- 33:16host. It's gonna be stabbed.
- 33:17Because they're filming stabbed. Yeah.
- 33:19And they've already confirmed that he's got a cameo because
- 33:21he's the first killed. Yeah, the movie.
- 33:24Which I think that's cool that like, even the stab movies are
- 33:27kind of meta. Yeah, yeah.
- 33:32So he gets a call on his cell phone and so, he hangs up with
- 33:36his agent and then he flirts with the person on the cell
- 33:38phone. And then all of a sudden, a
- 33:40voice changes. And it's like, oh, what about
- 33:42your girlfriend? He was like, what?
- 33:44And then it's like Ghostface and he's like, all right.
- 33:47I'm going to ask you a question and you get it right your
- 33:52girlfriend who lived before that though, whenever he thought he
- 33:54was talking to a fan, I didn't realize that the name of show
- 33:57was called 100% cotton. Because like what he says is
- 33:59like, oh, you're a big, 100% cotton fan.
- 34:02I thought that that's just like what he was like saying to.
- 34:04Yeah, that's what he calls. His fans like 100% cotton fans
- 34:08and she says 110% and he's like oh stealing that.
- 34:13Yeah, he's up on his agent about to have some phones.
- 34:17X. Yeah.
- 34:18Whenever he realizes that ghost face is watching his girlfriend.
- 34:22He hit and runs his way out of here.
- 34:24Like hitting all kinds of people do drives super recklessly
- 34:28through l.a. trying to get back to his Mansion.
- 34:31Yeah. Because Ghostface asks where
- 34:35Sydney is he's like, I don't know, I haven't spoken to her
- 34:37and he's like wrong answer and then he hangs up and so cotton
- 34:41you know is being a very reckless driver, it's very
- 34:45terrifying. He's trying to Call Christine
- 34:48his girlfriend, but the phone line has been cut.
- 34:51Yeah, she was in the shower before, too.
- 34:53And then she gets out of the shower and to add insult to
- 34:57injury. The last song she hears before
- 34:59she dies, is Creed much greed there.
- 35:02So much greed in this movie. 100% cotton is 100% three
- 35:07hundred and ten percent. Well, Sydney has a poster up in
- 35:15her room set. What I'm thinking of its, didn't
- 35:18ya? Okay, so, but this is cool.
- 35:22I think that this is an interesting thing, because it's
- 35:24Ghostface and he chases her into kinds office.
- 35:29He's got the voice changer. That changes his voice to Cotton
- 35:32and he's like, I'm just upping the game and she like, she fully
- 35:36believes this. The game, which means that
- 35:38cotton has done this before. Yeah, she's a guy.
- 35:41I'm not, I'm tired of your fucking games guys.
- 35:43This is an abusive relationship. Yeah, see No, I'm also kind of
- 35:48wondering is he like one of those guys were like he hides
- 35:51cameras around and like he tries to like it's fucking content,
- 35:55its content. This is a prank, bro.
- 35:57Come on man. Let's reduce.
- 35:58We're going to be so huge. This is like the worst kind of
- 36:00YouTuber chick talker if he can, is this was Modern.
- 36:03He would be like one of those guys, instead of, like,
- 36:06absolutely. Or, you know, he hosts a
- 36:10podcast, so he ends up falling the girlfriend but Cuts away.
- 36:19Before we see what happens. Cotton ends up pulling up in
- 36:23front of the Mansion. So his own shows on TV and I
- 36:25think this is interesting because he's talking about the
- 36:27epidemic of road rage. I thought.
- 36:29Yeah, because he was just driving through out.
- 36:32And we get another mention of this later, Gail talked about it
- 36:35on her show road rage, because she was too.
- 36:38Thing about Tom princes character.
- 36:40Tom Prince, the actor who plays Dewey oh yeah you're right.
- 36:45Yeah I think it would be hilarious if like you're
- 36:48watching that segment and then you look out the window and you
- 36:50see cotton like driving like an asshole just rather I holy shit.
- 36:54It's you. Yeah, you fucking hypocrite.
- 37:00He makes it back into the house and he's trying to find his
- 37:03wire. Nice wife, his girlfriend.
- 37:06Yeah, but she gets out of the closet and is swinging a golf
- 37:10club at him because she thinks it's him.
- 37:12That's the killer, which is fair.
- 37:13Totally fair. But then tricked repeatedly, and
- 37:17then Ghostface sneaks up from behind her and kills her.
- 37:20And then he kills gotten yeah. Thanks.
- 37:24Yep. That's opening.
- 37:26What do you think that this ranks among the openings of the
- 37:29The series. I think this is probably at the
- 37:31bottom is probably at the bottom just because the openings are
- 37:35always very strong. Yeah.
- 37:37The rest of them are all like the phone calls are more
- 37:40interesting. I think.
- 37:41Usually yeah like I think part of it is that this is a
- 37:44returning character that I don't like super love.
- 37:50Yeah. I mean so like there's the metal
- 37:51piece of it. We got some resolution on what
- 37:53happened with those life yada yada.
- 37:56But like, I guess it's a good way if you don't want to deal
- 37:59with this character anymore and just put them in the opening and
- 38:01comb off, but it is a good way to introduce that voice changer.
- 38:05That like duplicate the voices. Yeah, because he is a character
- 38:08we know. So it's smart riding in that
- 38:11sense. That's true.
- 38:12Because I guess I was different. Because if it had been a
- 38:14character, we don't know than late trying to duplicate voice.
- 38:17Like, that doesn't really make any sense.
- 38:19You know, it's true. You're so I like again, this
- 38:23isn't a bad opening, and it's not that I think I dislike.
- 38:27It is just all the other movies are so fucking strong.
- 38:30Yeah, the only other one that I would unfortunately put down
- 38:34there with this one, that's probably five and five says,
- 38:37okay. But I love fives fives.
- 38:39As okay. I think the opening is probably
- 38:41one of the strongest parts of that whole, maybe 12 is pretty
- 38:45memorable for is amazing. I love for therapy.
- 38:49People that hate for his opening.
- 38:51I love for his opening. I remember watching that in
- 38:54theaters, with my mom and we were just like Like, we like
- 38:57grabbed each other's hands. Afterward were like, this is
- 39:00great. Actually, you know what?
- 39:01No, nevermind six. I think six is a great six.
- 39:04Is a great opening to maybe, I don't know.
- 39:07I think it was okay. I think I would put six on the
- 39:10bottom end. The first like 12 and 4 are just
- 39:15so hard to top. Those are so good.
- 39:18It's just, it's just a strong franchise.
- 39:20Yeah, exactly. Okay.
- 39:26Yeah. So Sydney is blocking her
- 39:30sweetie Piper Cherokee. She's got an alarm system on
- 39:34her. Gait she's gonna learn system in
- 39:37her house. She works from home, she is a
- 39:40crisis counselor under the pseudonym Laura can you get work
- 39:46like that while giving fake information about yourself?
- 39:50Or do you think that they know her real name there and they
- 39:52just I'm sure work under that? Yeah, I'm sure that's the
- 39:55situation. She okay I love this as
- 39:58character development for Sydney, seeing her because in
- 40:03the second movie she tried to move on and it just it blew up
- 40:06in her face and I think this is a very realistic response.
- 40:09Yeah. I think I like this trajectory
- 40:12for character and I like that even though she's not going to
- 40:16healthiest route and she is isolating and she is paranoid
- 40:19with not undo. Reason I do like that she's
- 40:24still doing something for other people.
- 40:26Suppose she's doing that crisis counseling and I was a volunteer
- 40:30crisis counselor for a while and it's it's draining.
- 40:34That's what it is very emotionally draining.
- 40:36So I was going to ask, wouldn't this be volunteer work?
- 40:39How she is? She getting paid for this?
- 40:41You can do it. I was paid where you can okay, I
- 40:43didn't okay because I was wondering, how the fuck is she
- 40:45affording? This is giant ass house in the
- 40:48country. I can't imagine that type of
- 40:50job. Patient who has helping paying
- 40:52for things to that's possible because he knows where she lives
- 40:56He's the only person who seems to know where she lives.
- 40:57Yeah, him and do it. Yeah.
- 41:00Do they somehow got the address and you know, what do we keep
- 41:03the secret? He does, he does a good job.
- 41:05This is what I do. He's one of the best characters
- 41:08in the whole thing. Exactly.
- 41:09Yes, he knew where she was the whole time, and he didn't say
- 41:11anything until she showed up on her own.
- 41:13And he goes, I called you so many times.
- 41:15I told you not to come show yourself and Mark concave, like,
- 41:19son of a bitch. You said, you haven't spoken to
- 41:21her. Okay, it then cuts to Gail is
- 41:28giving a lecture at a school about rewarding.
- 41:33I don't know what's up. She's got terrible things and
- 41:38somehow they get worse in every scene.
- 41:41Yeah, they sometimes appear shorter as sometimes appear
- 41:44longer, it's inconsistent. It's and it's unfortunate.
- 41:48Yeah. She's like, working on TV
- 41:50nowadays? Yeah, that's even more.
- 41:53Fortunate Millennium that's why she lost 60 Minutes to.
- 41:57I think it's funny though that there's a guy in the crowd there
- 42:01that calls it. Her I was like, oh, so we should
- 42:03be Cutthroat. Yeah.
- 42:04Just like you, right? You could because you were super
- 42:06Cutthroat with how you handled everything and what was her
- 42:09response? Like she is like actually yeah.
- 42:12She's like yeah you should 100%. Have you met me?
- 42:16I'm Gale weathers forgot to mention that again.
- 42:18Don't be apologetic about it. Yeah Mark Kincaid shows up and
- 42:22he's like listen I will have you arrested if you share this
- 42:26information, but this photo was left on Cotton wearies.
- 42:31Body, do you recognize this person?
- 42:33And it's a picture of Maureen Prescott when she was about 18.
- 42:3619 years old, yeah, Sydney's mom said, at this time was
- 42:43overhearing. The new story about the killing
- 42:46that went on with cotton. So she started to get worried
- 42:49that things might be ramping back up again and you see it.
- 42:53I think negatively impact her and I don't know why I love this
- 42:57detail but I do. She's holding a big bag of dog
- 42:59food for Cherokee. Yeah.
- 43:01Like I just I don't know why but that's such a nice detail.
- 43:04Cherokee eats well yeah we got red right hand.
- 43:08Yes, it's playing as there's a tour being given of the studio
- 43:12where step three is being shot. Also, where Seinfeld was shot,
- 43:17apparently. We also get Jay and Silent Bob
- 43:21Cameo here. Yeah, she's weird.
- 43:23It's weird but also I could definitely I'm sure Kevin Smith
- 43:27is a fan of the franchise and if they contact him really key,
- 43:30what a cameo, he like. Absolutely yeah.
- 43:32But this is more than the Cameo. This now is like scream exist in
- 43:36the universe. As quarks does also the same
- 43:41universe as Dogma. Yeah.
- 43:44So it's now part of the Kevin Smith Universe.
- 43:47Yeah. Tusk.
- 43:48Also I don't know. Do work Tusk is in the scream
- 43:53Universe. Isn't that a weird thing to
- 43:55think about it is a little bit which would mean that Justin
- 44:02long can never be in a scary movie.
- 44:04He can just be like a double ganger, you know, I think know
- 44:10like they have another like clip where somebody's on YouTube and
- 44:14one of the recommended videos on the side is his Osment show.
- 44:19Man, here's the thing. If if cotton did survive long
- 44:24enough to be a podcaster, he would be having a podcast with
- 44:27Justin Long's character. Oh yeah, they would absolutely
- 44:30cross-promote one another. Yeah, exact hundred percent.
- 44:33100% cotton truce. All right, we, this is where we
- 44:38get our Roger Corman Cameo because he's the producer, which
- 44:41I love the idea that this is a Roger Corman produced movie
- 44:45staff. See, the idea of Roger Corman as
- 44:47a producer coming on set. That and saying we're worried
- 44:51about violence impacting the reception of this movie.
- 44:54I know, right? Roger your fucking Corvin.
- 44:58We just talked about one of your movies, man, shopping mall.
- 45:01No dropping them. So he's like no chopping no
- 45:04shot. No shocker to violence.
- 45:05Yeah. Exploding heads.
- 45:06Please keep it. Absolutely.
- 45:09Also, lends henrickson's character is a producer I think
- 45:12I don't know what his role is on sir.
- 45:14Yes. Like he was a director, I think
- 45:18still is our director but mostly says I'm producing and you know,
- 45:21like one video. Yeah, yeah.
- 45:23And he's there on set to I guess you're breaking down film.
- 45:26I think like Milton is Oh my God.
- 45:33What is his name? Roman Milton is Romans boss and
- 45:38Roger Corman is Sultan's boss, I think.
- 45:40Okay. That's that's that's the
- 45:41hierarchy I picture in my head. That's mostly because I can't
- 45:45picture anyone else being around your corman's bus.
- 45:48Okay. I think your ass I guess to put
- 45:50into perspective, maybe it's like Jason.
- 45:52Blum is like, Roger Corman and then like a producer for like
- 45:57one of the new Bloom House movies.
- 45:59Okay, be Lansing. Nixon's character.
- 46:02Yes. And director.
- 46:03Which is Roman. Yeah.
- 46:04Okay be yeah. They're like the freaking out.
- 46:09I think they're shutting down filming because of the kids are
- 46:11talking about it. It's kind of like you know we
- 46:15might have to like we're not sure it hasn't been definitive
- 46:19yet because they're still gonna do some like screen tests for
- 46:22things. So they haven't fully decided
- 46:24that they're like, you know, this is a possibility FYI.
- 46:28And we know that it hasn't been decided yet because the Ours are
- 46:31all sitting there talking about it and Angelina Tyler who's been
- 46:35recast as Sydney is like she's you know this is her first role.
- 46:41She was picked out of thousands Tyson previously discussed on
- 46:45the podcast and hatch. It isn't Hatchet.
- 46:48Yeah he's um one of the main dudes.
- 46:53Oh shit. Yeah.
- 46:54Okay. Yeah.
- 46:55I go through this. Every time you watch this movie
- 46:56I'm like, why does he look familiar?
- 46:58Yeah. Yeah he says something.
- 47:01In this scene that I can't remember.
- 47:04It's talking about, like a oh yeah, talking about.
- 47:10I guess. Like, I black actors don't have
- 47:11the ability to pick and choose what they want to be with.
- 47:14Like he's kind of upset, because if this gets shut down, he may
- 47:17not have anything else to do. Yeah.
- 47:18And he's talking about look, he mentions LL Cool.
- 47:21J dreams, that's what it was here on the park and I was like,
- 47:24oh, so she won't. That's why I say it's 20 as
- 47:28Shakespeare because that is Kevin Williamson.
- 47:31Yes. And you know what?
- 47:33I could see that absolutely being tied in University.
- 47:36Yes, exactly. So, gal arrives on set here to?
- 47:40Yeah, she is getting snippy with Jennifer Jolie who's playing her
- 47:48and then Dewey comes in. He is the technical advisor.
- 47:51Since he knows, you know, all the real I can't see.
- 47:53Do we agreeing to do this? And that's the most out of
- 47:56character thing for him. Yeah, I don't feel like he would
- 47:58believe, what's bro. This is not like a It's
- 48:01happened. Dude, I can also just see him
- 48:03being uncomfortable, like helping make this movie, that's
- 48:06like, profiting off of his and his friends and Family's
- 48:09personal tragedies. Yeah.
- 48:11Something that I think has very clearly made Sydney very
- 48:15uncomfortable in the past he's like, you know, I'm going to
- 48:17work on one of these. Oh yeah, he's just like moving
- 48:20on and doing his own thing. Everybody else will have time.
- 48:22I think I'm going to Hollywood. I think it's because he's in
- 48:24this kind of relationship with Jennifer Joey.
- 48:27Yeah, I think so too. She probably reached out to him
- 48:30and Yeah. Like kind of seduced him.
- 48:33Yeah, it's never fully outright said that they're in a
- 48:36relationship right now. That is.
- 48:37Yeah there. Yeah.
- 48:37But he's in a trailer on her property but still yeah, like
- 48:41it's very heavily implied but it's never outright confirmed.
- 48:43She gets jealous whenever he's talking about going to the Jesus
- 48:47you're dragging. Like, you love her.
- 48:48Yeah. The Tom Prince.
- 48:50He's the Dewey actor I choose. I choose to believe that this is
- 48:54a reference to Sleepaway Camp because he's a gun is super
- 48:57obvious fake mustache on bad must?
- 48:59Yeah. But he walks over and he says
- 49:03something kinda gal she's like oh thank you honey because I
- 49:05especially love that story. You did about my car crash last
- 49:09month where you implied that it wasn't a tire blowout and it was
- 49:12obviously related to alcohol and drugs and she was like well you
- 49:16know how it is in journalism. He goes, I'll go check your car,
- 49:20make sure nobody is fucked with it in the parking lot C.
- 49:23Yeah, I like that because it kind of shows a girl is still
- 49:30going to be in shitty. Even though she's had that
- 49:31success and then not do is like you shouldn't be here.
- 49:35There's no press on set and she goes this is all off the Record
- 49:37and he like looks at her purse which is like strategically
- 49:41designed to where she can have a camera in it and he's like I
- 49:44forgot you about this for me all while laughing that guy being
- 49:49cast as do it because that's very much.
- 49:51Not what do we is? That guy right there.
- 49:54That's what they want to do to be originally.
- 49:57Yeah then yeah I think that's that's kind of even Place into
- 50:00the That a little bit more like you supposed to be like a pretty
- 50:03boy, but yeah, they doing much more of a him Bo.
- 50:06Yeah. Like Tom friends, I could see
- 50:08him being the himbo Dewey today. Originally envisioned another
- 50:11thing about Dewey in this movie, I don't feel like we get the
- 50:15traditional. Do we stay in this?
- 50:17No we don't. I was listening.
- 50:18I know because like there's kind of like a joint Dewey Gail theme
- 50:22near the end but it give him like a little bit like the
- 50:25western guitar thing. But yeah it's not Dewey and
- 50:28people get up in arms about red, right hand being missing and
- 50:31Cream for I'm upset about. Do we seem being gone?
- 50:33I have theories about that. And for that, we'll talk about
- 50:36next month. Okay.
- 50:37I'm excited to hear them. Yes.
- 50:39All right. So Sid and her dad are talking.
- 50:43He wants her to come back home to Woodsboro.
- 50:45He's worried about her. He says, being by herself all
- 50:48this time, can't be good for and she said, a psycho can't kill
- 50:52what they can't find and she just sounds so sad and so
- 50:55broken. Yeah.
- 50:56And I just like, it's it's painful seeing her at this
- 50:59phase, but that's part of What that's part of why I defend this
- 51:03movie because it feels real. She's still super young at this
- 51:07point. If we're, if it's like the
- 51:09timeline in real years, she's times.
- 51:12Like so she was a senior in high school in 96.
- 51:14Yeah. At the most.
- 51:16She's should I just graduated college.
- 51:18Yeah, at least. Yeah.
- 51:20Like she's basically a child still.
- 51:24Yeah. And here's one of the scenes
- 51:27that I feel like people complaining about a lot where
- 51:29she falls asleep And she has a dream of her mom as a ghost come
- 51:33by. It's so creepy.
- 51:36I like it. I think it is creepy.
- 51:37I think it's a really good scene and honestly is somebody who has
- 51:43nightmares. It's a realistic kind of
- 51:46nightmare when you've got that kind of trauma.
- 51:49Yeah. It makes sense.
- 51:51Well, like it's I feel like the thing that makes me feel uneasy
- 51:55about it is, this type of thing is so out of place for this
- 51:57movie, We're in the third movie. And now you're introducing a
- 52:00ghost And like it's just showing her slowly approached the house
- 52:05and then just like, banging on the window.
- 52:07Yeah. Being really creepy with the
- 52:08things that she's saying, but you know what, I do really like,
- 52:12what Cherokee comes and wakes her up.
- 52:14Oh yeah, it's Italian. She takes care of me when I have
- 52:21bad dreams so we see Sarah. She's the actress.
- 52:27She plays candy. Who's the second to die?
- 52:29In the film, she gets called to the The office because she's got
- 52:32Roman told her to get their say need to go over the script
- 52:35before they've stolen her scene. Yeah.
- 52:37And she sees Tyson who's got like scissors to his head.
- 52:39He's like doing his test makeup. That's kind of see ya.
- 52:43I wonder if that was like the actual special effects people
- 52:45there to be like, hey look at me like I've always wanted to do
- 52:49scissors in the head. Just give me a chance.
- 52:54Yeah, but he's like everybody else is gone.
- 52:56She is Rome is one that told me to come here but she gets a call
- 53:00in his office and it It's him and he's like, well let's go
- 53:02ahead and read it through and she was like I don't she's like
- 53:05there's another goddamn rewrite. How are we supposed to do this
- 53:08when the script changes every 15 minutes Meda Meda Meda Meda Meda
- 53:13and she's like I'm not happy that I'm 35 playing a 21 year
- 53:17old, I'm not happy that I have to die naked and I'm not happy
- 53:19that my characters too stupid to run out of the house.
- 53:22When she just saw her boyfriend, get filleted sort of thing,
- 53:26like, filming screaming, one again.
- 53:28At this point. Like this seems like the opening
- 53:30of scream. I mean, yes.
- 53:33But maybe they're taking the Friday.
- 53:34The 13th approach for Theory, do ya, their movie ever since the
- 53:39first few minutes. Yeah, so she's, they're doing
- 53:44their line, reading given partway through, he starts
- 53:48calling her Sarah, she's like, wait, Roman what, and then all
- 53:52of a sudden, it's go space voice and so Sarah freaks out.
- 53:58She hides in like this wardrobe room.
- 54:01It's a cool scene right there. Like I said, he with all of the
- 54:03ghosts face masks wide. And the cloaks did they need
- 54:06that many? This, what I was thinking, too,
- 54:09right? Like, are you guys, did you guys
- 54:11buy all of these in preparation for all 10 of the movies?
- 54:13You're going to be making eventually?
- 54:15I understand why you have to have multiples, okay?
- 54:17Least two or three but I get that.
- 54:19Yeah. But did you need two full racks
- 54:22like counting? There's probably at least 50 of
- 54:25these right here. And she So the real ghost cases
- 54:29obviously hidden amongst these. Yeah, and she starts fighting
- 54:33but she's got are these like, profit things that are all.
- 54:36I know. Oh man.
- 54:38Which I feel like this is kind of cool because I feel like this
- 54:40tell us who is actually familiar with the set because they
- 54:43grabbed an actual weapon instead of one of the fake weapons and
- 54:46uses that to kill her. Yeah, so we got to Gayle and
- 54:51Dewey talking and Gail, tell them that the police asked her
- 54:54for help. She isn't just like sticking her
- 54:56nose and I love that. No matter any time in any of
- 55:01these movies, you get these two together, they end up like,
- 55:03catching up on fights that they would have had.
- 55:05Yeah. Well, and she's, you know, he's
- 55:07like, she's like, I can't believe that you're not in
- 55:10Woodsboro. You said you would never leave
- 55:11because it's the only place that's real.
- 55:13And he's like, well, I see that you haven't hesitated to move on
- 55:16and she was, like, I stayed with you.
- 55:17I took care of you, I waited for you to be ready but you said,
- 55:21you didn't want to leave and I can't stand.
- 55:23Woodsboro, we just don't worry incompatible and they have the
- 55:27whole devious. What's wrong with being a girl?
- 55:30Because she's like, well, I could be a Diane Sawyer.
- 55:33Yeah, whatever. Then he tells her that somebody
- 55:37called the Woodsboro Police Department asking for Sydney's
- 55:40file. They claim they were those stab
- 55:413 and they wanted to, you know, do some research.
- 55:44And they were told now and then a month later, the police
- 55:48department was broken into Police Department getting broken
- 55:53into what the fuck y'all. I know.
- 55:55And like, I mean, I guess like, are you trying to like, is it
- 55:58possible for small town? I feel like no matter the size
- 56:01of the town, the police department staffed.
- 56:03Yeah. Like you're not going to be able
- 56:04to just break into that and not get caught.
- 56:07I don't know why but I feel like that was do is shift.
- 56:10Yeah, but I he reveals that he was smart and already pulled
- 56:15Sydney's file. So it's gonna get stolen.
- 56:17Is he still a working cop at this point?
- 56:19I don't know. It seems like he Was, but now
- 56:21he's on, said, as a technical advisor.
- 56:24So that's not like working as a cop.
- 56:26Yeah. But then the next movie, he's
- 56:28like the sheriff of. Yeah, I don't understand.
- 56:31I don't know. Yeah, it's confusing.
- 56:32And then on the next movie, he's dumped by his superhot wife
- 56:37crawled into the got fired, crawl into the bottom of a
- 56:40bottle. Maybe you're the star cut deep
- 56:4550 times. My boy Jennifer calls Dewey and
- 56:54she's very distressed. So he's like, I gotta go check
- 56:57on her and Gail follows and she tells him about Sarah being
- 57:04killed and then they realize that they're being killed in
- 57:07order of the movie and gills, like, okay.
- 57:09So, who's killed next? And they all just kind of stare
- 57:13at her. Like, come on, Diane Sawyer.
- 57:19This is just like, I get killed off.
- 57:21She takes it out on Dewey, like he wrote the script I know and
- 57:25he's like the Consultants. I could you not consult them to
- 57:28not kill me. He's like, I don't know, you
- 57:30could die. Yeah.
- 57:31I mean, come on. Is the third movie, maybe he
- 57:34made sure that she got a really good death, it's possible, maybe
- 57:37he made. Sure, she goes out fighting
- 57:39because that would be, I think these little bit better.
- 57:41I know. I maybe he's like, no really?
- 57:43They're like, I don't know, should we kill?
- 57:44Goes like no kill Gil. Kill her, like really, really
- 57:46bad. I also think it's worth noting
- 57:49that He still has a limp. It's not as bad.
- 57:53Yeah. Yeah.
- 57:54They're like trying to phase it out.
- 57:56Yeah, he's improving. It's been years since the last
- 57:59movie 2 which is even more funny.
- 58:02This is where we get the introduction of stone calling.
- 58:05Do we do drop? Yeah, new drum.
- 58:07Then you drop Dew Drop. I love how he's just so
- 58:12aggressive. Yeah, it's doing the entire time
- 58:16and he is Jennifer Joey's like actual bodyguard.
- 58:20Yeah. Do we try to like communicate
- 58:22with them? Because he also is a cop's was
- 58:25like, oh yeah. We're working security together.
- 58:27She's like no offense do drop but your resume reads like the
- 58:30obituaries which is a burn. He's got a lot of good Burns
- 58:35here. I love do is a character.
- 58:36I think I might like Stone a little bit more.
- 58:38Is fucking awesome. The detectives are questioning
- 58:42Roman because cigarette was like headed to the studio to meet
- 58:47with him. It was like his call.
- 58:49Yeah, the roommate. Nate is the one that said, like
- 58:52confirmed that he called. And so that he's the current
- 58:56suspect Sydney gets a call and she thinks that it's from the
- 59:01crisis line. And then they start like, it's a
- 59:04becomes weird Vibes really quickly.
- 59:06She starts referring to herself as mother and she's it's using
- 59:10Maureen's voice. Yeah.
- 59:12And then Sydney looks down, and she sees that it's the call came
- 59:15from her home line on your office.
- 59:17That's spooky. A short horror story.
- 59:20Off. Then the caller tells her to
- 59:23turn on the news and then do stories about the step three
- 59:26murders that have been happening.
- 59:29So Tom Tyson and Angelina are all over Jennifer Joey's house,
- 59:35referring to it as a wrap party of sorts because the movie is
- 59:38officially been shut down. Gail is sneaking around and
- 59:42she's over. She's eavesdropping on
- 59:45conversations between Dewey and Jennifer.
- 59:47Were there talking about Gail. I feel like this piece is made.
- 59:50King Stone. Oh look out.
- 59:52Look as though he's a bad security guard because like
- 59:55somebody randomly just pulled into her driveway and is now
- 59:58working around outside her house.
- 59:59Yeah. But then Stevens the one that
- 1:00:00grabs her. Yes.
- 1:00:02But super-soul I mean imagine how much damage could have been
- 1:00:04done, you know what I mean? Yes, Esther threat is just a
- 1:00:08guess. Hmm.
- 1:00:12So Gail tells doing that. Roman was released because they
- 1:00:15realize the call came from a clone cell and then she shows
- 1:00:20him the Pictures that have been left with Maureen where she was
- 1:00:23about 19 to 20 years old. And she said that she did
- 1:00:26research and nobody knows where she was what she did at that
- 1:00:30age. Like, there's no record of her
- 1:00:32at all, at that time. Some and then do we realize the
- 1:00:36background of one of those photos is at Sunrise Studio,
- 1:00:39Backlot? Because it matches, one of the
- 1:00:41head shots that were just looking at of Jennifer Joey.
- 1:00:44This is ridiculous because they're posed in the exact same
- 1:00:47spot like the house lines up, perfectly everything.
- 1:00:50Background do. Come on, man.
- 1:00:54So gets a call, though, from Dew.
- 1:00:56Drop and stone. Takes it upon himself to go into
- 1:00:59Dewey's, trailer to rummage around, just to make sure that
- 1:01:02everything is all good. And there he is.
- 1:01:04Kind of making some fucked-up, comment.
- 1:01:06He's not like how he can even protect his own sister, that's
- 1:01:09really, that's not cool. Yeah, a little respect loss for
- 1:01:13stone right there. Yeah.
- 1:01:15And then he gets stabbed the rest of them are all still in
- 1:01:19the house and they Hear him like crawl to the front door and they
- 1:01:23watch him like Keel over and die in front of them basically.
- 1:01:26So they all run inside and the power gets cut off.
- 1:01:30Kind of the overhead lights are at least because the fax machine
- 1:01:33still working. Yeah it's just the lights go
- 1:01:36out. Yeah.
- 1:01:37Like they have power it's script pages and it's saying that they
- 1:01:41all run inside the killer will grant Mary C 2 and they're all
- 1:01:46freaking out and they're trying to run out the bag but they're
- 1:01:48like we need to know who it is. Who's thinking to kill.
- 1:01:50Kill. Who's it?
- 1:01:51Killer gonna. Great Mercy to.
- 1:01:53And so, Tom runs inside and he grabs the page, but he can't
- 1:01:56really see. So he goes and grabs a lighter
- 1:01:59to see it and he says, whoever smells the gas and is a big
- 1:02:02explosion. Yes, huge.
- 1:02:04I like this but at the same time you're putting a lot riding on
- 1:02:09them using a wider to try. Like I would take it out into
- 1:02:12the Moonlight if it were. Yeah yeah I would have grabbed
- 1:02:15the page and like run out. Yeah but yeah big explosion they
- 1:02:19all get get tossed over the Ghostface is going after Gail
- 1:02:24but Dewey shoots out of them they and then runs to check on
- 1:02:28Gail they almost kiss but then Jennifer shows up.
- 1:02:31She's yelling Gail punches her. So I like that in a maybe we're
- 1:02:35Gail doesn't actually get punched, Gail guess.
- 1:02:40So. She's like my lawyer, liked that
- 1:02:44I thought you were going to open up with that honestly.
- 1:02:47Yeah, that would have been a good one.
- 1:02:50It's all good. Okay.
- 1:02:52So this is where they find the third photo of Mourinho, and on
- 1:02:55the back and says, I killed her. Don't untie.
- 1:03:00So Kincaid thinks that there was a third killer involved, you
- 1:03:04know, in all the stuff that happened back in the events of
- 1:03:06the first movie and he wants contact with Sydney and do is
- 1:03:12like, I can't help you there. I don't know what to tell you,
- 1:03:15but then secretly do. He's like calling and he's like,
- 1:03:23And then she walks in as he's leaving that message and he's
- 1:03:26like, you were supposed to stay hidden and she's like, well, you
- 1:03:28know, I need to, I need to be here, I got a call at home, so
- 1:03:32I'm not safe there, but as well. Come help out.
- 1:03:37Yeah. Do you think it's a nice note
- 1:03:38that she's wearing duritz lavalier?
- 1:03:41Yeah, I didn't even notice that at all until you mentioned that
- 1:03:44which is a nice detail for. Yeah, she wants to see the
- 1:03:48locations of where those photos were taken.
- 1:03:51So they go to the set and while they're on set.
- 1:03:53Haven't got around to appear Israelis.
- 1:03:56Randy sister Martha. Okay.
- 1:03:58She's younger than them. She's still in high school,
- 1:04:02right? I think so.
- 1:04:03Where the fuck did she come from?
- 1:04:04She's not working on the site here.
- 1:04:06She just comes out of one of the random buildings.
- 1:04:08Are she walks up handsome? A videotape of Randy and fucks
- 1:04:11off pretty much. No explanation.
- 1:04:14I'm not mad because it means either moderato is part of this
- 1:04:17game universe. That's fine.
- 1:04:18Yeah, I mean and she returns briefly but like a Same time,
- 1:04:21she just mysteriously shows up and mysteriously walks away.
- 1:04:25Yep. Never know what the fuck
- 1:04:26happened? Yep.
- 1:04:28So rainy left the tape. And part of the reason they did
- 1:04:31this was because there is such fan, outraged at, Randy, being
- 1:04:34murdered in part two and four minute.
- 1:04:38They were like trying to think of a way to bring him back to
- 1:04:40life, but they were like, there's no way that we can dance
- 1:04:43around his death. It was too bloody.
- 1:04:45Yeah, yeah massacred. So they did This instead I think
- 1:04:51that this is fitting for his character.
- 1:04:53Yeah. But she's a video explaining the
- 1:04:56rules of a Trilogy. My favorite thing here though is
- 1:04:59like shouting at Paul. Yeah.
- 1:05:01And then like after that, there's 15 fucking minutes,
- 1:05:04Paul, I'm leaving my legacy. He like peacocks will be to like
- 1:05:07get his arms, bro. A big mouth.
- 1:05:12Scary big, get on your ball again.
- 1:05:16I choose to think about is this, like, we can't reference Paula.
- 1:05:20Hmm. Okay, good night.
- 1:05:26So he says if you find yourself dealing with an unexpected
- 1:05:30unexpected Baxter and a preponderance of exposition,
- 1:05:32this isn't a sequel. It's the final chapter of the
- 1:05:35trilogy in the final chapter of the trilogy the Killer is
- 1:05:38superhuman. Anyone can die even the main
- 1:05:41character. This means you Sydney and the
- 1:05:44past will come back to haunt. Ya always goes back to the
- 1:05:48beginning, whatever you thought you knew you'd Don't know it
- 1:05:51all. Yep.
- 1:05:53So Dale decides that she's going to go do some research and Jen
- 1:05:57is going to stay with her because she's like, well, they
- 1:06:00actually, you know, they're killing us, an order of who they
- 1:06:02killed in the movie, but that means that they actually want
- 1:06:04you, not me? So if I'm with you, then they're
- 1:06:06going to go for you and not me, which isn't the worst logic.
- 1:06:09It's nice and I love her delivery of that whole thing.
- 1:06:12So, does that make sense? Like I'm sticking with you
- 1:06:14because they're trying to kill you but if I'm with you, then
- 1:06:16they won't want to kill me because you're actually here.
- 1:06:19Yeah. And it also just me That we get
- 1:06:21to see them as like antagonistic buddy, cop.
- 1:06:23Yeah and I love it. I really love their chemistry
- 1:06:26here. I think that they do a great job
- 1:06:27together. The girls try to get into the
- 1:06:30archives can't get in there but guess what?
- 1:06:34Jen bribes Carrie Fisher who plays the clerk named Bianca.
- 1:06:38Yeah. So and they're like you look
- 1:06:40just she's like I know I lost the role because I didn't sleep
- 1:06:44with Lucas. Yeah, there's like pictures of
- 1:06:46Carrie Fisher like Star Wars right there too.
- 1:06:49Which is kind of cool for this purse.
- 1:06:50Person but I like I'll go was bribing them was like all right
- 1:06:54I've got a president right here and it's just like a fifty
- 1:06:57dollar bill it's reminding me of game night while we watched last
- 1:07:00night where the guy's like a ten dollar bill and the Frog already
- 1:07:05goes it doesn't matter how slow you will you slide.
- 1:07:08It is still the one dollar bill. Yeah.
- 1:07:09Yeah. Excites two more wins than $17
- 1:07:13is like I only brought $17 on a date.
- 1:07:17It's a good scene. No man, maybe yeah.
- 1:07:20So, this is where they find out that Maureen Roberts.
- 1:07:24That was her maiden name. Actually went by Rina Reynolds
- 1:07:26when she was on Hollywood and Jenn goes stage name and she
- 1:07:31goes, you're one to talk Judy Jurgens teen.
- 1:07:34Judy Jurgen Stein. So she did three horror films
- 1:07:38all for Milton So it's important and they're very like Corman
- 1:07:42esque types of name. Yeah, they definitely sound
- 1:07:45like, Roger Corman movies, we see Sydney in the bathroom and
- 1:07:49this is almost a callback to the first one.
- 1:07:50I think, because we see the feet in the bathroom Salt, Lake City
- 1:07:54driving down. Yeah, there really bears are
- 1:07:57being pulled up. Yeah, and sorry.
- 1:08:03I like this right here because it's a good complete.
- 1:08:05Like, it's a shift of character for Sydney, instead of running
- 1:08:07away. She kicks in the door just like
- 1:08:09all right, fuck you. You yeah Exodus Angelina and
- 1:08:11then she's like, oh my God, I'm you while I'm playing you, I
- 1:08:14wanted to make you proud, I guess not that won't happen in
- 1:08:16Sydney's super uncomfortable because she's like I hate that
- 1:08:19these movies exist. And she's like this face mask.
- 1:08:23Yeah. It's just like well I just I
- 1:08:24wanted some souvenirs because this might be the only movie I
- 1:08:27got to do and I didn't actually get to do it.
- 1:08:29So I didn't think anybody would mind if I just took a couple
- 1:08:31things and send even be in the doll, she is like just leave,
- 1:08:37just go except she dropped her hair.
- 1:08:40So Sydney runs after her to try and give it to her and this is
- 1:08:42how she enters the Woodsboro set.
- 1:08:44Yes, this is cool. Yeah.
- 1:08:48But it also is kind of like a mindfuck because clearly it's
- 1:08:51not set up, you know, the same geographical setup has it is in
- 1:08:56actually Woodsboro. So you've got stews house is
- 1:08:59like catty-corner to SIDS bedroom and it like really
- 1:09:02throws you off. Yeah, it does.
- 1:09:04It's I like it though and like it gives her an opportunity to
- 1:09:08like kind of Look back at the past, it's her Creed poster.
- 1:09:13Yeah. She's poster in her bedroom.
- 1:09:15All wonder. If they actually saw that in
- 1:09:17like her better, we gotta get those true to the character goes
- 1:09:22through. So shows up like but with a
- 1:09:26blanket like a disguises, a dead body.
- 1:09:30Yeah. It's very like Nightmare on Elm
- 1:09:32Street. Like but the body bag in the
- 1:09:34hallway scene. Yeah, definitely it's her mother
- 1:09:37because it was set up for her mother's murder flashback scene.
- 1:09:40Right. Yeah, which is just traumatic in
- 1:09:42so many ways. Yeah, this is why for her to
- 1:09:45handle. Yeah, I'm Sydney ends up jumping
- 1:09:47through the set window Landing in the fake grass.
- 1:09:50And this is where do we and everybody else comes running and
- 1:09:53checks on her and she's like, once again, confirming was we've
- 1:09:56heard in the second floor of never the first one.
- 1:10:01Yeah, you think? Yeah.
- 1:10:02I never do. So, this is where do we?
- 1:10:09He and Gail and Jennifer day. All confront Milton and they use
- 1:10:16Rina Reynolds is real name. And this is where we have the
- 1:10:18unfortunate talk about. She knew what she was doing.
- 1:10:21Yep. Yep.
- 1:10:22Some very ugly discussion of the business going on here.
- 1:10:27Yeah. But Roman is like, Spitting mad
- 1:10:33at this point that his film has been cancelled.
- 1:10:35He only agreed to do this in the first place because the studio
- 1:10:38that he could do whatever he wanted after that, and then
- 1:10:40Milton's like. All right, well, I'll see you
- 1:10:41back in my house for your birthday party and they're like,
- 1:10:43oh, happy birthday. Yeah, let's see.
- 1:10:50Sid. And Mark are back of the police
- 1:10:52station and they're talking talking.
- 1:10:55Yeah. Well, and she's like, why are
- 1:10:57you so into this case? Did you ask to be assigned to
- 1:10:59it? And she's like very suspicious
- 1:11:01of them and Like, I'm from Hollywood, I know that urea, I
- 1:11:04know the types around here, they tend to give me these cases.
- 1:11:07That involve like stars. Yeah, she's like, well, you seem
- 1:11:10to be really into movies and she's like, I guess they like
- 1:11:14talk more about Trilogy rules. Yeah.
- 1:11:17But what was Israel? That is basically.
- 1:11:19It's just that all bets are off. That's right, yeah.
- 1:11:21Okay, we've heard that like 50 times or yeah.
- 1:11:23So that's the new introduce. I feel like maybe that was
- 1:11:25inserted to try and build. Yeah a suspicion of him but also
- 1:11:29are they trying to like some - yeah, - something doesn't feel
- 1:11:34right at all. Yeah, and he says, you know,
- 1:11:37being around people help stop with the haunting.
- 1:11:39He's like, I've got my own personal go.
- 1:11:41Yeah, I think I've dealt with it.
- 1:11:42I'll show you sing go. Susie.
- 1:11:44I me too. So he's like, all right, I'm
- 1:11:46gonna go check out the set because I do believe you though.
- 1:11:48Somebody was there. So I'm going to go look for
- 1:11:50evidence. Yeah, I do like that.
- 1:11:52He believed her. Yeah, me too.
- 1:11:53Yeah, do we Gail and Jen are headed to the police station to
- 1:11:58check on Sydney, but then they get a call from her saying that
- 1:12:01she's going to Ben's party because Roman called her and
- 1:12:03invited her and millions house. Yeah.
- 1:12:05And they should have known this was in Sydney because it doesn't
- 1:12:08sound like her. No, like it's not the like it's
- 1:12:10not the way she talks, it's her voice but it's not her and she's
- 1:12:15like, no, it's fine. I'm with Kincaid.
- 1:12:16I've got the whole like escort thing.
- 1:12:18It's fine. Yeah.
- 1:12:19So they decided that they're going to go to Milton's house
- 1:12:22to, you know, make sure everything's okay.
- 1:12:24Roman is there. And he's talking about Milton
- 1:12:28secret screening room where a bunch of parties happen in the
- 1:12:3170s. I'm fulfilling their not good
- 1:12:35party. I also think it's hilarious
- 1:12:37whenever Tyson right Tyson's are and liver Dewey shows up, he
- 1:12:41calls out. Do he's like all right I don't
- 1:12:42want to be around this guy. This guy gets cut up every
- 1:12:44single movie. I also like, where they're like,
- 1:12:46where's Sydney? And I'm goes right there, and
- 1:12:49they point to our trauma. Goes right there and .02
- 1:12:52Angelina she goes. No, like I'm gal, she's Gail and
- 1:12:55he goes, I don't know where Sydney is.
- 1:12:58So they're all splitting up there.
- 1:12:59Looking for the secret room, Dewey decides that He's gonna
- 1:13:02call back the most recent number on the phone and then he hears
- 1:13:05the phone ringing from like the coat room and he goes and he
- 1:13:08pulls this off and out that's ringing.
- 1:13:09And finds a voice changer in that pocket.
- 1:13:11There's also a ghost face mask and quote there too.
- 1:13:14So this is where they decide they're going to see if they
- 1:13:16can. You know, they've confirmed that
- 1:13:17one of the people in this house is Ghostface.
- 1:13:20So we're looking around and Gail finds Romans body in a freezer.
- 1:13:25Yeah, in the basement. Yeah, I am her and Jen go to
- 1:13:28look for Dewey Angelina pops out of a secret passage.
- 1:13:31Image. It's like a two-way mirror,
- 1:13:34which is kind of fucked up, considering everything else
- 1:13:36said. Yeah.
- 1:13:38About this house. Yeah, Angelina's freaking out.
- 1:13:42So she goes running when she hears that.
- 1:13:44There's been another Murder. She says, I don't fuck that.
- 1:13:47Pig Milton just to die with a bunch of second-rate actresses
- 1:13:50like you. And then as she says that she
- 1:13:54gets killed, this is a movie. She's already so up her own ass.
- 1:13:59Yeah, this is where the group starts.
- 1:14:01Running. They're fighting Ghostface.
- 1:14:03Like there's just a lot of random action going on.
- 1:14:06Yeah, because this house has like a bunch of secret passages
- 1:14:09because Milton's Shady. Yeah, it's like it's a really
- 1:14:12weird way out. Yeah.
- 1:14:14My favorite thing from this though is whenever do we seize
- 1:14:19go space in the basement and like go spaces, like okay, how
- 1:14:22the fuck am I going to take care of him from right there?
- 1:14:23Because do he has a gun? It takes the knife, and just
- 1:14:26throws it at Dewey. And the, but of, like the handle
- 1:14:29hits him in the forehead and knocks him out, and he falls.
- 1:14:31Downstairs. That's the most Dewey fuckin
- 1:14:33thing ever. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:35So at this point, I see, Tyson has died.
- 1:14:39Jen has died. I think Angelina's died.
- 1:14:43So it's just doing Gail, Left Alive with Ghostface.
- 1:14:47They are tied up. Sydney is still in the police
- 1:14:51station. She still ins Kincaid's office
- 1:14:53and she gets a phone call and she hears her own voice and then
- 1:14:58it's like ghost face is like all right, I got your friend.
- 1:15:01Your don't attract any attention to yourself over will kill them.
- 1:15:05You need to come out to this party.
- 1:15:07Yeah. And then she she steals a cop
- 1:15:09car and a cop gun. Yes.
- 1:15:12Tiny. The tiny little gun.
- 1:15:14Yeah. One of the tiny little got this.
- 1:15:16So she arrives at Milton's house.
- 1:15:17And there is a metal detector next to Tyson's body.
- 1:15:20So that's what really fucked up. Greeting.
- 1:15:22Just use the metal detector and she loses the ankle gun.
- 1:15:26She has. So she goes in she tries to
- 1:15:29untie, do it goes face attack sir.
- 1:15:31But Bam. She's got a second gun.
- 1:15:33This is smart, that was way too smart, both the guns on the same
- 1:15:35angle. So when it goes off and he's
- 1:15:37like, all right, get rid of the gun.
- 1:15:39She does. Ghostface amateur move, doesn't
- 1:15:42make her a screen. That's yeah, that's a really
- 1:15:44really tight move. Yeah.
- 1:15:47So, go space has disappeared Kincaid appears.
- 1:15:50He's like, yeah, I just, you know, I needed to come check
- 1:15:55here because everybody was here. He gets attacked by Ghostface of
- 1:15:59Sydney shoots. It goes face and she goes
- 1:16:01running. She hi In the secret, screening
- 1:16:02room. And here's her mom's voice.
- 1:16:05It's ghost face with the voice changer.
- 1:16:07And not only that. It's like also, like film being
- 1:16:10played off her mom. Yeah.
- 1:16:11From when she was was just like a random bits of her like
- 1:16:16stalking her in Woodsboro having Affairs.
- 1:16:18Yeah. This is where the exits are all
- 1:16:22locked and Ghostface has a bulletproof vest.
- 1:16:24So he's like didn't kill me and then that's when we find out
- 1:16:29it's Roman. He explains that he searched for
- 1:16:33his mother, Rina Reynolds for for his whole life.
- 1:16:37Basically, he never knew her and then four years ago, found her
- 1:16:41in Woodsboro would have been five years.
- 1:16:44Yeah, this pointing that out because Scream one took place in
- 1:16:481996, which was a year after Maureen's.
- 1:16:50They filmed this in 99, maybe they got tripped up, so when he
- 1:16:55found her tracked her down, went to meet her, she turned him away
- 1:16:58saying that Arena was dead. Which I can understand like he
- 1:17:05wanted to reconnect with his mom.
- 1:17:06She didn't want anything to do with him.
- 1:17:08I can understand that being upsetting.
- 1:17:10Yeah, but not to this extent, so he acted as a mentor to billion
- 1:17:15stew. Once he saw that Billy's, father
- 1:17:18was having an affair with Maureen.
- 1:17:22He was upset that Sydney became the Survivor, the victim, the
- 1:17:25star, he says that the assault that happened to Rina Reynolds
- 1:17:30made Maureen. But there's a lot of problems
- 1:17:34with that statement and he is going to frame Sydney for
- 1:17:40Milton's murder saying that she you know, like everything that's
- 1:17:45happened. All the truth is Milton for
- 1:17:48everything. That happened to her mom up
- 1:17:49until now. Yeah, everything building up to
- 1:17:52this over the past few years, like she finally snaps.
- 1:17:54Yeah. So she yells at him told him to
- 1:17:57take some fucking responsibility for his own life.
- 1:18:00I like how she just Straight up, undermines.
- 1:18:03Everything that he's said, like this is all bullshit.
- 1:18:06Take some responsibility, you're responsible for all this and
- 1:18:08then pisses him off. So just charges at her.
- 1:18:12So they fight. Do we end up knocking out the
- 1:18:15power? And he Mark is picking the lock
- 1:18:18to the screening room. He gets hit by Roman who then
- 1:18:22shoes at Sydney twice in the chest and then when he turns
- 1:18:26away for a second and turns back to shoot her in the head, she's
- 1:18:28gone she calls him. Um and then stabs him in the
- 1:18:33chest, she reveals that she got to go bulletproof vest on as
- 1:18:36well and she jumps up or no Roman jumps up and do we keep
- 1:18:42shooting at HIS bulletproof vest?
- 1:18:44And she goes ahead Dewey shoot him in the head.
- 1:18:46I wish that this scene would have went, like, went five
- 1:18:50seconds longer, because it would just be hilarious to see.
- 1:18:52Do we just like Baobab happen? It's like an infinite ammo.
- 1:18:55Just like come on. Do we shoot him in the head?
- 1:18:58Like you would think that he would figure this out but I
- 1:19:01think like Jesus. This boy is really trying to
- 1:19:03shoot him in the heart. Our epilogue takes place at
- 1:19:07Sydney's house. Doing Gail are standing on the
- 1:19:10porch. Watching her walk cheer Heath.
- 1:19:13Why is everybody at her house? They're having a baby night.
- 1:19:16I don't know. I guess she does not live
- 1:19:18anywhere, close to Hollywood. I don't know.
- 1:19:20Maybe they're helping her pack up and move.
- 1:19:22I don't know. I thought Ben Kincaid.
- 1:19:26Stay there. So, do we ask a low to sign a
- 1:19:30copy of the Woodsboro murders. He's and she's like, this is
- 1:19:32weird. She's like you hate this book
- 1:19:36also. Why am I signing in?
- 1:19:39I also like what's going on and he's like, please just sign it
- 1:19:42and she's like, okay, so she opens it and I can't see Gail
- 1:19:45being okay with him having kind of know.
- 1:19:49But he's got an engagement ring in there and he's like, maybe
- 1:19:53we're not right for each other but I guess we'll see.
- 1:19:56Yeah, I think it's just a weariest.
- 1:19:58I like he bought a copy of her book and just like took a knife
- 1:20:01Loop, just cut it all open. So here we go.
- 1:20:05I got you a ring in there like did their relationship really
- 1:20:09like he'll this much in this short amount of time to where
- 1:20:12they're going to be engaged. No I mean in also Kincaid and
- 1:20:16Sydney are together because like yeah so Sydney comes back and
- 1:20:20she doesn't set the alarm. She comes inside.
- 1:20:23They're all inside together and Kincaid's, like come And Sidney,
- 1:20:27we're going to watch a movie like this is a whole new concept
- 1:20:29watching movies. Later people can Kate is never
- 1:20:32had friends before. I like to imagine that he's
- 1:20:34grown up in Hollywood, and he doesn't know what movies are
- 1:20:37like move. These like people, watch them
- 1:20:40together, Fruit Friends. What is this screen?
- 1:20:45It legitimately seems like he's never had a social relationship
- 1:20:48with another human being. It's so weird to watch, she's
- 1:20:51like, what movie are we watching?
- 1:20:52Then he just gives her this puzzled.
- 1:20:54Look, it's like you have to watch to find out.
- 1:21:02I don't even know what a movie is.
- 1:21:03Where are we watching guys? So she starts to walk away and
- 1:21:07then she looks back at her door has popped open and she just
- 1:21:11kind of like smiles and walks away.
- 1:21:12No, I don't care if you're not worried about a murder anymore
- 1:21:16that's still like your door is open.
- 1:21:18It's somewhere in California. Surely you've got the air
- 1:21:21conditioning on? That's a waste of that your
- 1:21:23dog's got to run out. Yeah exactly.
- 1:21:25And to the Words. Like come on, man.
- 1:21:28Like I get it. It's supposed to be like, no,
- 1:21:31I'm grown up. I no longer need help.
- 1:21:34Feeling this way. We were fine.
- 1:21:36We had that message when she didn't set her alarm.
- 1:21:39Yeah, that was cool. Yeah.
- 1:21:40But this is the door. They were like, we can't leave
- 1:21:43it on. Mark Kincaid, not understanding
- 1:21:45movie night with friends. We have to add something,
- 1:21:48goddamn it. All right, open the door.
- 1:21:51I guess. I don't know what have they done
- 1:21:52something else a shot, this so many times and Patrick Dempsey
- 1:21:57himself has never had a movie night with friends and it's just
- 1:22:00like, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 1:22:01All right, what's my motivation for my character?
- 1:22:04You're watching a movie. He's like do we know what it is?
- 1:22:09I'm just watching a movie and then Sydney.
- 1:22:12Like she just like improvise a line.
- 1:22:15Okay. What movie are we watching that
- 1:22:17stump time? You have to watch.
- 1:22:20No, I can't see. Patrick Dempsey being an improv
- 1:22:22actor. Exactly.
- 1:22:23He got thrown off your psyche script, I do.
- 1:22:28This is not, this is not cool. Guys.
- 1:22:31Yeah, that's it. That's the movie.
- 1:22:33Alright. So we've made it through the
- 1:22:37original trilogy and yeah, I'm keeping my score, an eight and a
- 1:22:42half. I think it's a fun time.
- 1:22:44I think it's got some flaws in logic, but honestly not more
- 1:22:48than the other two. Yeah, I don't think it does
- 1:22:50either. I'll make mine 775.
- 1:22:56Go up a little bit because yeah, this is a fun movie.
- 1:22:58I liked it a lot. I think, I mean, there's a lot
- 1:23:01of that that doesn't make sense and there's a lot of weird stuff
- 1:23:03to it, but ultimately, I think it's just like a super fun entry
- 1:23:08and yeah, that's just weird as I enjoy myself with this one, that
- 1:23:13brings our average up to an eight point one.
- 1:23:14Two five. Okay, now that's good.
- 1:23:16Yeah, Talia is going to give this a nine.
- 1:23:19She like this because it's got a dog, and a dog is a good dog and
- 1:23:24takes care of Sydney. Any and also is never in any
- 1:23:27danger. Also, two dogs.
- 1:23:28Yeah. Also.
- 1:23:29Yeah, but yeah, she was, she was playing around during the cold
- 1:23:36open. She's having a good time and
- 1:23:38she's just relax the rest of us playing with Bruce, Zoe was on
- 1:23:44the couch for the explosion. And then she went to the dog bed
- 1:23:47for the rest of the movie after that.
- 1:23:49Yeah. I mean, she's seen this enough.
- 1:23:51She's like, okay, with explosions, done.
- 1:23:53I'm done. She watched enough of it.
- 1:23:56Okay, who did you relate to? Hmm, who did I really hate to?
- 1:24:03Um, Geez, who did I really doing this?
- 1:24:15You go first thinking, I guess, I think I probably related to
- 1:24:20Angelina, because that's how I would react if I was all this
- 1:24:23movie, this once-in-a-lifetime set, this once-in-a-lifetime
- 1:24:26opportunity, I'd probably try and like, take some souvenirs
- 1:24:29with me. Oh yeah, you with it.
- 1:24:31I like that. That's true shit, man.
- 1:24:36I don't know. I don't know who I relate to in
- 1:24:38this movie. This is a tough one, I'll relate
- 1:24:45to do it because if somebody offered me a role to be a
- 1:24:49consultant on a horror movie, I would absolutely take them up on
- 1:24:53that, okay? Because that would be a fun
- 1:24:55time. All right we're not doing drinks
- 1:24:59and cool. This is our franchise but let's
- 1:25:02try and rewrite this this tag line.
- 1:25:06Okay? The tagline for this.
- 1:25:10Hmm, third, time's the charm. Third.
- 1:25:13Time's a charm is not bad. That's not, that's not bad.
- 1:25:22It plays on it. Being the third one without
- 1:25:24because we now know it's not the final one.
- 1:25:27It doesn't make a big deal about the New Millennium in this
- 1:25:29charming. Okay, let's do that.
- 1:25:32There's a charm. Yeah, excuse me.
- 1:25:37Okay, so what sucks? What's next is we have a change
- 1:25:44to make a change for this. I don't have a change actually,
- 1:25:47no second ghost killer certainly that.
- 1:25:50That yeah, okay. I would drop the forest
- 1:25:54relationship between Kincaid and said, okay, that stuff was just
- 1:25:59strange to me and I guess I'm like really in your face with
- 1:26:03it. But like at the same time like I
- 1:26:04mean it's just enough to I questioned it while I watch the
- 1:26:09movie. So next up.
- 1:26:12No, I've got a review. You got a review.
- 1:26:14No, I'm not. That was saying next pop.
- 1:26:16Okay. Yeah, all right, good.
- 1:26:18Okay, this whole review is so bizarre to me, this was posted
- 1:26:25February 5th, 2000. So they watch this and then I
- 1:26:28immediately went on IMDb and posted this.
- 1:26:30Wow, that blows my mind that IMDb was around them.
- 1:26:34It's a 10 out of 10 and it's titled much better than I
- 1:26:38expected. What it only gets more wild from
- 1:26:42there. Travis.
- 1:26:43Okay, I'm excited through the first two screen movies, we've
- 1:26:46been exposed to many, laughs, many screams, many Thrills and
- 1:26:48sadly, a couple problems I must admit when I found out that
- 1:26:51Kevin Williamson, would not be writing the third and final
- 1:26:53movie and the surprisingly good scream series actually had very
- 1:26:56low expectations for Scream 3. I knew it mostly because I did
- 1:26:59not like Arlington Road. The movie Ehren Kruger writer of
- 1:27:02Scream 3 wrote before this one when I saw the movie I was very
- 1:27:05pleasantly surprised. Sure it had some bad acting.
- 1:27:08The beginning was sort of cheese.
- 1:27:10Easy. And there were tons of pointless
- 1:27:11characters but still the movie shined, very bright and both the
- 1:27:15comedy and horror elements of the script, the movie was both
- 1:27:19the funniest Scream movie as well as the scariest.
- 1:27:22What I was laughing almost to tears in parts of the movie and
- 1:27:27in all the other parts, I was jumping in my seat, the movie
- 1:27:30had so many more scares in hit than the first to scream to was
- 1:27:34not scary at all. And scream had some scares, but
- 1:27:36it still doesn't hold a margin to the many.
- 1:27:39Many scares me. Third one, this story had some
- 1:27:42plot holes, but so did scream to and even the first one.
- 1:27:44It also had some very clever and extremely fun and funny scenes.
- 1:27:48Randy special appearance was a classic element in the movie.
- 1:27:51The characters in the movie were pretty normal and average,
- 1:27:54that's one thing. Ehren, Kruger didn't have Kevin
- 1:27:56Williamson's, Lush and excellent characters.
- 1:27:59But still, it didn't matter one bit because this because this
- 1:28:02scream as the others has one goal to entertain and thrill the
- 1:28:05audience. The Killers of the movie was
- 1:28:07unpredictable and unexpected but not to the point.
- 1:28:10Point of ridicule. As the second one did that one
- 1:28:13element of the movie was one of two things.
- 1:28:16It was cheesy, but it also worked very well.
- 1:28:18I was pleasantly surprised. So all it all Scream. 3 is
- 1:28:21arguably the best and worst of the scream series.
- 1:28:24What the fuck? It was definitely the scariest
- 1:28:27and funniest of the trilogy, but it also had the weakest spot
- 1:28:30line and characters. I personally think it was worse
- 1:28:33than the first but better than the second either way, those
- 1:28:36definitely a worthwhile and enjoyable ending to a great
- 1:28:39series all that Say, Scream 3 is the best movie ever, but what I
- 1:28:44think that they slowly convinced themselves that it was a good
- 1:28:47movie. Like I hated this movie.
- 1:28:48I was super upset whenever it wasn't Kevin Williamson, but
- 1:28:51actually it was a lot of fun and it was super, super scary, you
- 1:28:54know laughs? Yeah.
- 1:28:55Cried super invested. And it's better than some of the
- 1:28:59other movies. I fuckin love this movie time.
- 1:29:02That's it. Yeah, it's just such a weird.
- 1:29:05Such such a bizarre review, but I do think that it brought up
- 1:29:09legal. Lot of good things that people
- 1:29:11miss, it is an entertaining story.
- 1:29:13It makes enough sense but maybe it's not, maybe it's a letdown
- 1:29:16because it's not Kevin Williamson and people got used
- 1:29:19to that like feel of it. I feel like this is one that
- 1:29:23like it goes over the top. I feel like that plays in
- 1:29:27perfectly with it being in Hollywood because it's like it
- 1:29:32goes Hollywood with it. You know what I mean?
- 1:29:34Yeah I really think it's just a case of like It isn't
- 1:29:38everybody's taste there was so much going on behind the scenes
- 1:29:41with like all of the production interference, the rewrites, the
- 1:29:48new writer like it all. Just became it all kind of
- 1:29:53Blended together into a movie that I still enjoy but I can
- 1:29:56understand maybe why some people do I get it to ya.
- 1:30:01Okay. So I've got our listener
- 1:30:04reviews. Okay, so we'll start.
- 1:30:07Off with our loan, Instagram review, it is from Robert atone.
- 1:30:12He says, the beginning of the end.
- 1:30:15Oh boy. Whoo-hoo.
- 1:30:17So to him, it goes all downhill from here which is funny because
- 1:30:22I think he said the first one wasn't yes, terminal to the
- 1:30:25friend or to the genre. Yeah.
- 1:30:28Maybe Robert doesn't like the scream series, I'm beginning to
- 1:30:31think that. I hope he appreciates this
- 1:30:34episode that we at least included American Psycho for
- 1:30:37him. Yeah.
- 1:30:37True. Okay.
- 1:30:40Over on Twitter. I'll quickly.
- 1:30:42Boobs says they did my dude cotton dirty Parker.
- 1:30:45Posey is go. Was the shit though?
- 1:30:47Yes, absolutely. I think her Gil is probably my
- 1:30:50favorite part of this move. Now she's the one that I could
- 1:30:53see them. Justifiably like bringing bag
- 1:30:55and say gosh, she had actually died.
- 1:30:57Yeah. Because she is.
- 1:30:58Yeah. I mean, she's an actor.
- 1:31:00You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 1:31:01But I also feel like they can't do that again after they just
- 1:31:04did that with Kirby. Yeah, but then again Sure.
- 1:31:08Go ahead, man. You it's your fucking movie.
- 1:31:10You can do it. If you want to will be good.
- 1:31:12Will make sense? I don't know.
- 1:31:15We'll see movies for days says the Jay and Silent Bob Cameo.
- 1:31:19Makes this not only the best screen movie in their franchise
- 1:31:22but the best horror movie ever made, don't worry, I'll be
- 1:31:25taking a cab home. I mean, you're with the safe
- 1:31:29crowd here, man. Yeah.
- 1:31:31We're never going to be mad about a.j. and Silent Bob Cameo.
- 1:31:34Well, not bad but like only not only that but Like we love this
- 1:31:38movie too. We're not of the crew that no.
- 1:31:41Yeah, bad movie and finally kyndra.
- 1:31:46She says it's the one with the bangs it is it is in fact the
- 1:31:50one with the bangs that feels like a friend's reference to re
- 1:31:54because that's how they always name the episode time.
- 1:31:55Yeah. The one with the.
- 1:31:57Yeah. The one with the whatever.
- 1:31:59Yep. That's it.
- 1:32:01All right. Those are the reviews.
- 1:32:03Alright, great. Thank you guys for
- 1:32:05participating. Love having.
- 1:32:07Reviews here. But yeah, overall.
- 1:32:10Oh sorry. Oh yeah, go ahead.
- 1:32:13I was just going to say, overall, it seems people enjoy.
- 1:32:17I mean, I know the consensus amongst most fans of the
- 1:32:21franchise is that it's not a good one, but like, I don't
- 1:32:24know, I'm starting to see some love for it out there.
- 1:32:28Well, I think They're the newest, the newest ones kind of
- 1:32:34brought the heat off of it. He had definitely, that's
- 1:32:37probably true, which we'll get to those soon as I landed some
- 1:32:42talk about that. Okay, so we will be posting our
- 1:32:47May schedules soon. Yeah.
- 1:32:49But we're going with another theme month.
- 1:32:52Yeah. Decide it's time to go to prom.
- 1:32:55Yeah, it's prom season baby. Yeah, so with the exception of
- 1:32:59screen For all of our movies are going to be problem based and
- 1:33:02we're going to we're gonna start off with them, some Australian
- 1:33:05brutalism. So is it?

- 1:33:56to watch it on YouTube without a subscription in the past, like,
- 1:33:59you can It's been one of their but it's been one of their like,
- 1:34:02actual free movies. Yeah, I'm not sure if it's still
- 1:34:04lives. We also found it Dollar Tree D
- 1:34:09at the Dollar Tree and I've seen other copies of it, so it maybe
- 1:34:13it's like your Dollar Tree. It's worth it all.
- 1:34:14Only five. Yeah.
- 1:34:15It was cool. That was the first time I've
- 1:34:17ever seen it in physical media like in person.
- 1:34:19Yeah. So I'm really excited to talk
- 1:34:22about that one. Yeah, I'm excited to do another
- 1:34:24theme month because we haven't done one of those in a while.
- 1:34:26Yeah. What was the last one that we
- 1:34:28did? Was it the camper?
- 1:34:31The sequel? Was a sequel month?
- 1:34:33Yeah, I think it might have been sequel month.
- 1:34:35Yeah, so, okay, yeah. All right.
