Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. One of the key themes that I've talked
• 0:07
Speaker 1: about from the very beginning when it comes to Jeffrey
• 0:10
Speaker 1: Epstein and his criminal empire that was one of the
• 0:13
Speaker 1: biggest tells that something was amiss was that Jeffrey Epstein
• 0:18
Speaker 1: wasn't hit with RICO charges. And in this episode, we're
• 0:22
Speaker 1: going to talk a little bit more about RICO, what
• 0:24
Speaker 1: it is, and why I find it to be one
• 0:26
Speaker 1: of the biggest signs that Jeffrey Epstein was in fact
• 0:30
Speaker 1: an asset of the U.S. government. So why don't we
• 0:33
Speaker 1: just set the table real quick with a recap of
• 0:36
Speaker 1: what RICO is. At its core, RICO exists because lawmakers
• 0:41
Speaker 1: realized something important back in the 70s. Big criminal operations
• 0:46
Speaker 1: don't work like single crimes. They work like businesses. People
• 0:49
Speaker 1: have roles. Some recruit. Some move money. Some enforce rules.
• 0:54
Speaker 1: Some never touch the crime directly, but make sure the
• 0:56
Speaker 1: whole thing keeps running. Now, before RICO... Prosecutors had to
• 1:01
Speaker 1: charge each crime separately, which meant the people at the
• 1:03
Speaker 1: top often walked free, while underlings went to prison. RICO
• 1:08
Speaker 1: was designed to fix that loophole. Under RICO, prosecutors don't
• 1:12
Speaker 1: have to prove that every defendant committed every crime. They
• 1:16
Speaker 1: only have to prove three basic things. First, that there
• 1:19
Speaker 1: was an enterprise, which can be a company, an organization,
• 1:22
Speaker 1: or even a loose group of people working together. Check. Second,
• 1:27
Speaker 1: that the enterprise engaged in a pattern of criminal activity,
• 1:30
Speaker 1: meaning related crimes happened more than once over time. Check. Third,
• 1:36
Speaker 1: that the defendant knowingly participated in or benefited from the enterprise,
• 1:40
Speaker 1: even indirectly. That's it. You don't need a formal hierarchy
• 1:44
Speaker 1: or written contracts. Function matters more than structure. This is
• 1:49
Speaker 1: why Rico is so feared. If you're the person who
• 1:52
Speaker 1: booked hotel rooms, paid people, moved cash, threatened witnesses, or
• 1:56
Speaker 1: cleaned money, you can't hide behind the excuse of, I
• 1:59
Speaker 1: didn't do the worst part. RICO treats the entire operation
• 2:03
Speaker 1: as the crime itself. Think of it like charging the
• 2:06
Speaker 1: engine instead of just the individual pistons. Once prosecutors establish
• 2:11
Speaker 1: the engine exists, everyone connected to it becomes legally exposed.
• 2:16
Speaker 1: And of course, another critical piece of RICO is discovery.
• 2:19
Speaker 1: Once prosecutors bring a RICO case, the defense gets access
• 2:22
Speaker 1: to a much wider universe of evidence. Financial records, communications,
• 2:27
Speaker 1: internal memos, third-party relationships, all of it comes into play.
• 2:32
Speaker 1: That's why RICO cases often unravel networks far beyond the
• 2:36
Speaker 1: original defendant. It's not just about prison time, it's about exposure.
• 2:41
Speaker 1: Who knew what, who paid whom, and who looked the
• 2:43
Speaker 1: other way? Now, RICO also gives prosecutors enormous leverage. Lower-level
• 2:49
Speaker 1: participants suddenly face longer sentences, which encourages cooperation. That's how
• 2:54
Speaker 1: prosecutors climb the ladder. Start with the drivers, flip them
• 2:58
Speaker 1: to get managers, flip managers to reach people pulling the strings.
• 3:02
Speaker 1: That ladder climbing is the entire point of the law.
• 3:06
Speaker 1: RICO's not meant to stop at one arrest. It's meant
• 3:08
Speaker 1: to keep going until the whole structure collapses. And that's
• 3:12
Speaker 1: why RICO is used in cases involving gangs, cults, trafficking rings,
• 3:16
Speaker 1: and financial fraud schemes. It's also why it's controversial. When
• 3:21
Speaker 1: used aggressively, it forces powerful people into the open. When
• 3:25
Speaker 1: it's avoided, it quietly protects everyone above the defendant. So
• 3:29
Speaker 1: when listeners hear that someone wasn't charged under Rico, that
• 3:33
Speaker 1: absence matters. It means prosecutors chose to treat a system
• 3:37
Speaker 1: like a series of accidents instead of what it actually was,
• 3:40
Speaker 1: an organized enterprise. So in short, Rico is the difference
• 3:44
Speaker 1: between saying that this guy committed a crime and and
• 3:47
Speaker 1: saying the whole operation was criminal from top to bottom.
• 3:50
Speaker 1: And once that second statement is made in court, nobody
• 3:53
Speaker 1: inside the operation should be safe anymore. Alright, so that's RICO,
• 3:58
Speaker 1: and how it should be applied and a basic overview
• 4:01
Speaker 1: of what the law is. And knowing what the law is,
• 4:04
Speaker 1: one of the most glaring contradictions in the Jeffrey Epstein
• 4:07
Speaker 1: case is not merely the leniency of his treatment, but
• 4:10
Speaker 1: the structural narrowness of the charges brought against him. Federal
• 4:14
Speaker 1: prosecutors are not amateurs. and they don't accidentally undercharge defendants
• 4:19
Speaker 1: at the scale of Epstein operated. Epstein's criminal enterprise was sprawling, multi-jurisdictional,
• 4:25
Speaker 1: and sustained over decades, involving recruitment networks, transportation logistics, financial laundering,
• 4:32
Speaker 1: and institutional shielding. That constellation of facts is not ambiguous
• 4:37
Speaker 1: under federal law. It fits squarely within the conduct Rico
• 4:41
Speaker 1: was designed to address. When prosecutors instead reduce such an
• 4:45
Speaker 1: enterprise to isolated acts of solicitation, the choice is not
• 4:49
Speaker 1: legal necessity, but prosecutorial discretion. And discretion, when exercised repeatedly
• 4:56
Speaker 1: in one direction, becomes policy. Policy choices tell you who
• 5:00
Speaker 1: the system is designed to protect. And Epstein's charging history
• 5:04
Speaker 1: is therefore not confusing, it's revealing. The confusion exists only
• 5:09
Speaker 1: if one assumes good faith by default. Once that assumption
• 5:13
Speaker 1: is dropped, the pattern becomes legible. RICO exists precisely because
• 5:18
Speaker 1: traditional criminal charges fail to capture complex, ongoing criminal organizations.
• 5:24
Speaker 1: Congress created it to prevent prosecutors from pretending large conspiracies
• 5:29
Speaker 1: were just coincidental individual crimes. The statute is intentionally expansive,
• 5:35
Speaker 1: allowing the government to map relationships, financial flows, and command structures.
• 5:41
Speaker 1: It's not reserved for mafia bosses alone, despite popular mythology.
• 5:45
Speaker 1: In modern practice, RICO has been applied to musicians, cult leaders,
• 5:49
Speaker 1: street gangs, white-collar executives, and even loosely affiliated networks. The
• 5:54
Speaker 1: threshold is not violence or optics. It's continuity and enterprise.
• 6:00
Speaker 1: Epstein's operation displayed continuity over at least 20 years. It
• 6:04
Speaker 1: involved employees, recruiters, financiers, legal intermediaries, and transportation staff. This
• 6:12
Speaker 1: is textbook enterprise conduct. The absence of Rico is therefore
• 6:16
Speaker 1: not a legal puzzle, but a prosecutorial decision. And look,
• 6:20
Speaker 1: to understand how extraordinary Epstein's treatment was, one must compare
• 6:24
Speaker 1: it to cases where Rico was used aggressively. Diddy was
• 6:28
Speaker 1: charged under Rico based on comparatively narrow temporal scope. The
• 6:32
Speaker 1: government alleged coordinated acts involving coercion, transportation, and intimidation. Even
• 6:39
Speaker 1: assuming the allegations are true, the scale of the alleged
• 6:42
Speaker 1: enterprise is limited when compared to Epstein's global trafficking network.
• 6:46
Speaker 1: Yet prosecutors had no hesitation invoking RICO. That tells us
• 6:51
Speaker 1: something critical about institutional confidence. Prosecutors only deploy RICO when
• 6:57
Speaker 1: they believe discovery will not endanger their own interests. RICO
• 7:00
Speaker 1: is dangerous not because it's hard to prove, but because
• 7:03
Speaker 1: it forces exposure. It opens doors prosecutors cannot later close.
• 7:09
Speaker 1: Epstein's doors, for reasons unexplained publicly, were never opened. And
• 7:14
Speaker 1: of course, the R. Kelly case provides another illuminating comparison.
• 7:19
Speaker 1: Kelly's crimes were horrific and long-running, but geographically narrower and
• 7:24
Speaker 1: less institutionally embedded than Epstein's. Yet prosecutors successfully argued that
• 7:30
Speaker 1: his managers, employees, and associates formed an enterprise facilitating abuse.
• 7:35
Speaker 1: That argument was accepted by courts and juries. No intelligence
• 7:39
Speaker 1: agencies were implicated. No financial megabanks faced discovery risks. No
• 7:43
Speaker 1: foreign governments were implicated. The evidentiary blast radius was contained.
• 7:49
Speaker 1: And that containment made Rico safe to deploy. Epstein's case,
• 7:53
Speaker 1: by contrast, risked detonating across finance, intelligence, and diplomacy. Prosecutors
• 8:00
Speaker 1: aren't blind to the blast radius. They manage it carefully.
• 8:03
Speaker 1: But we don't stop at R. Kelly. What about Keith
• 8:07
Speaker 1: Ranieri's prosecution? That follows the same pattern. NXIVM was a
• 8:10
Speaker 1: cult masquerading as a self-help organization. It used coercion, branding,
• 8:16
Speaker 1: and financial leverage to control victims. RICO was applied without hesitation. Why?
• 8:22
Speaker 1: Because NXIVM lacked sovereign protection. It had no strategic utility
• 8:26
Speaker 1: to the federal government. Its exposure embarrassed donors, not institutions.
• 8:32
Speaker 1: Prosecutors could pursue the case aggressively without collateral consequences to
• 8:36
Speaker 1: the state. Epstein was different. Epstein sat at the intersection
• 8:41
Speaker 1: of finance, intelligence, politics, and academia. His network overlapped with
• 8:47
Speaker 1: power centers, prosecutors answered to, not just prosecute, and that
• 8:51
Speaker 1: difference obviously mattered. And look, the argument that Epstein was
• 8:55
Speaker 1: merely a sex offender, who happened to be rich, collapses
• 8:59
Speaker 1: under basic scrutiny. Epstein's wealth was opaque, his income streams undocumented,
• 9:05
Speaker 1: and his financial privileges extraordinary. He received sweetheart arrangements from
• 9:10
Speaker 1: banks that routinely de-risked far less suspicious clients. He moved
• 9:14
Speaker 1: money internationally with minimal friction. He donated strategically to institutions
• 9:20
Speaker 1: that shielded him. These are not accidental privileges. They're the
• 9:24
Speaker 1: markers of protected status. Rico would have forced prosecutors to
• 9:28
Speaker 1: explain those privileges in court. It would have required sworn
• 9:32
Speaker 1: testimony from bankers, attorneys, and intermediaries. And that testimony would
• 9:37
Speaker 1: not have stayed contained. So the government chose avoidance over exposure.
• 9:43
Speaker 1: And the 2008 non-prosecution agreement should be understood as a
• 9:47
Speaker 1: dress rehearsal for the strategy. Prosecutors deliberately structured the deal
• 9:52
Speaker 1: to foreclose broader inquiry. They avoided co-conspirator language. They concealed
• 9:57
Speaker 1: the agreement from victims. They limited jurisdiction. reach. This was
• 10:02
Speaker 1: not incompetence. It was precision. And that same instinct carried
• 10:05
Speaker 1: forward into Epstein's later federal arrest. Narrow charges ensure narrow discovery.
• 10:11
Speaker 1: Narrow discovery ensures narrow accountability. Enrico would have undone that
• 10:15
Speaker 1: containment instantly. The choice to avoid it was consistent with
• 10:20
Speaker 1: prior behavior. Now, Glenn Maxwell's prosecution further reinforces that conclusion.
• 10:26
Speaker 1: Maxwell was clearly more than a facilitator. She was an
• 10:29
Speaker 1: operational manager. Her role encompassed recruitment, scheduling, discipline, and concealment,
• 10:36
Speaker 1: and she didn't work alone. And prosecutors knew that, yet
• 10:40
Speaker 1: they structured the indictment to isolate her from the broader enterprise.
• 10:44
Speaker 1: No additional defendants were named. This is anomalous in trafficking cases.
• 10:49
Speaker 1: Prosecutors usually flip mid-level operatives to reach higher nodes. In
• 10:54
Speaker 1: Maxwell's case, the latter simply stopped. And in my opinion,
• 10:58
Speaker 1: that stop was not evidentiary. It was strategic. Because RICO
• 11:03
Speaker 1: prosecutions create discovery obligations that prosecutors cannot selectively enforce. Once invoked,
• 11:10
Speaker 1: defense counsel gains leverage to demand communications, financial records, and
• 11:14
Speaker 1: interagency correspondence. That includes intelligence community interactions. If Epstein had
• 11:21
Speaker 1: any formal or informal relationship with government entities, RICO Discovery
• 11:25
Speaker 1: would have exposed it. Even the risk of such exposure
• 11:29
Speaker 1: may have been deemed unacceptable. Prosecutors do not need proof
• 11:33
Speaker 1: of embarrassment to avoid it. They only need to foresee it.
• 11:37
Speaker 1: And in Epstein's case, restraint functioned as protection. Now the
• 11:42
Speaker 1: concept of Epstein as a government asset is controversial. but
• 11:46
Speaker 1: it can't be dismissed out of hand. Intelligence agencies historically
• 11:50
Speaker 1: cultivate unsavory figures when utility outweighs risk. That history is documented,
• 11:56
Speaker 1: not speculative. Assets are not rewarded with medals, they're rewarded
• 12:00
Speaker 1: with protection. Protection often takes the form of selective enforcement.
• 12:05
Speaker 1: It does not require written contracts or formal acknowledgement. It
• 12:09
Speaker 1: requires silence, access, and plausible deniability. Epstein's legal treatment fits
• 12:15
Speaker 1: that model disturbingly well. This does not require belief in conspiracy.
• 12:20
Speaker 1: It requires recognition of incentives. And incentives shape outcomes more
• 12:25
Speaker 1: reliably than morality. Critics will often argue that Rico was
• 12:31
Speaker 1: unnecessary because Epstein was already facing significant charges. That argument
• 12:36
Speaker 1: misunderstands prosecutorial purpose. The goal of prosecution is not merely incarceration,
• 12:42
Speaker 1: but dismantlement. RICO exists to dismantle enterprises, not punish individuals
• 12:48
Speaker 1: in isolation. Epstein's enterprise survived his first prosecution intact. It
• 12:54
Speaker 1: likely survived a second had he lived. No financial infrastructure
• 12:58
Speaker 1: was seized, no network was dismantled, no institutional reforms followed.
• 13:02
Speaker 1: That's not success by any serious prosecutorial metric. All it
• 13:06
Speaker 1: is is containment. And, of course, the claim that evidence
• 13:10
Speaker 1: was insufficient for Rico collapses under comparison. Prosecutors built Rico
• 13:16
Speaker 1: cases with less documentation, fewer victims, and shorter timelines. Epstein's
• 13:21
Speaker 1: victims numbered in the dozens at the time at a minimum.
• 13:26
Speaker 1: His operations spanned borders and decades. His communications were documented.
• 13:30
Speaker 1: His associates were known. If that does not meet Rico's standards,
• 13:34
Speaker 1: then Rico's standards are meaningless. The more plausible explanation is unwillingness,
• 13:40
Speaker 1: not inability. And prosecutors rarely admit unwillingness publicly. Instead, they
• 13:46
Speaker 1: hide it behind discretion. Now, another revealing factor is timing.
• 13:51
Speaker 1: Epstein was arrested during a period of heightened public scrutiny,
• 13:55
Speaker 1: not proactive enforcement. The case was reactive, not initiative-driven. That
• 14:01
Speaker 1: alone suggests institutional reluctance. Aggressive prosecutions usually unfold over years,
• 14:07
Speaker 1: not weeks. RICO cases require planning, grand jury work, and
• 14:12
Speaker 1: strategic sequencing. None of that was visible here. The government
• 14:16
Speaker 1: appeared to rush towards the narrowest viable charges. That's not
• 14:20
Speaker 1: how prosecutors behave when they intend to expose a network.
• 14:23
Speaker 1: It's how they behave when they intend to close a file.
• 14:27
Speaker 1: And the aftermath reinforces the analysis. Epstein's death conveniently foreclosed
• 14:32
Speaker 1: further inquiry. Maxwell's trial was carefully bounded. No meaningful post-conviction
• 14:37
Speaker 1: investigations followed. Congressional oversight stalled until recently. Agencies cited ongoing
• 14:44
Speaker 1: reviews that produced no results. And look, the pattern is
• 14:48
Speaker 1: not unique to Epstein, but its consistency is striking. Systems
• 14:52
Speaker 1: close ranks when exposure threatens legitimacy. RICO threatens legitimacy by design,
• 14:58
Speaker 1: and that is why it was avoided. Comparisons to organized
• 15:03
Speaker 1: crime are instructive. When prosecutors pursued mafia families, they knew
• 15:07
Speaker 1: corruption would surface. They pursued those cases anyway, because the
• 15:11
Speaker 1: institutions implicated were local, not federal. And of course, Epstein's
• 15:16
Speaker 1: network intersected with federal power itself. And that changes the calculus.
• 15:22
Speaker 1: Prosecutors do not prosecute the system that employs them. They
• 15:25
Speaker 1: prosecute threats to it. Epstein, paradoxically, was not treated as
• 15:30
Speaker 1: a threat. He was treated as a liability to be managed.
• 15:35
Speaker 1: And I think it's also worth noting that Rico would
• 15:37
Speaker 1: have forced prosecutors to explain publicly. They would have had
• 15:41
Speaker 1: to identify beneficiaries. They would have had to explain regulatory failures.
• 15:46
Speaker 1: They would have had to explain intelligence overlaps. Silence was
• 15:50
Speaker 1: easier than explanation. And the narrow charges required narrow explanations.
• 15:55
Speaker 1: So the government chose the path of least institutional resistance.
• 16:00
Speaker 1: And of course, none of this absolves Epstein or Maxwell
• 16:03
Speaker 1: of moral responsibility. It indicts the system that selectively constrained justice.
• 16:09
Speaker 1: Selective justice is not justice at all. It's governance through discretion.
• 16:13
Speaker 1: And discretion becomes abuse when applied consistently to protect power.
• 16:17
Speaker 1: And make no mistake, Epstein's case is not anomalous. It's exemplary.
• 16:22
Speaker 1: It shows how law functions when it encounters its own reflection.
• 16:26
Speaker 1: Rico was avoided because Rico would have reflected way too much.
• 16:31
Speaker 1: And of course, public disbelief persists because citizens are taught
• 16:35
Speaker 1: to believe law operates neutrally. In reality, law operates hierarchically.
• 16:40
Speaker 1: We all know that people closest to power experienced the
• 16:43
Speaker 1: law differently, and Epstein's proximity insulated him. That insulation did
• 16:49
Speaker 1: not fail accidentally. It was maintained deliberately. Prosecutors did not
• 16:53
Speaker 1: miss Rico. They rejected it. And the narrow charging of
• 16:57
Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell should therefore be understood as as a
• 17:00
Speaker 1: boundary setting exercise. The government drew a line around what
• 17:05
Speaker 1: could be examined. Everything inside that line was prosecuted. Everything
• 17:09
Speaker 1: outside was protected. Rico would have erased that line. That's
• 17:14
Speaker 1: why it was never on the table. So as we
• 17:16
Speaker 1: wrap up, I want you to keep in mind that
• 17:18
Speaker 1: the absence of Rico in the Epstein case is not
• 17:21
Speaker 1: an oversight, not an anomaly, or a failure of imagination.
• 17:25
Speaker 1: It's the clearest evidence of intent we have. Intent to contain,
• 17:29
Speaker 1: intent to protect, intent to avoid institutional self-exposure. Whether one
• 17:35
Speaker 1: labels Epstein a government asset or merely a protected liability,
• 17:39
Speaker 1: the outcome is the same. Rico would have forced truth,
• 17:43
Speaker 1: and truth has never been desired. That's why Epstein was
• 17:46
Speaker 1: charged narrowly, died conveniently, and left the system intact. Ultimately,
• 17:51
Speaker 1: in my opinion, the Epstein case... forces an uncomfortable but
• 17:54
Speaker 1: unavoidable reckoning with how justice actually functions when it collides
• 17:58
Speaker 1: with entrenched power. This was never about a lack of tools, evidence,
• 18:02
Speaker 1: or legal imagination, because Rico sat on the shelf the
• 18:06
Speaker 1: entire time, fully loaded and ready. It's always been about
• 18:10
Speaker 1: risk management, not public safety, and of course institutional survival,
• 18:15
Speaker 1: not accountability. Prosecutors made a calculation that exposing Epstein's full
• 18:20
Speaker 1: enterprise would expose too much else along with it. And
• 18:25
Speaker 1: that calculation explains every anomaly from the narrow charges to
• 18:28
Speaker 1: the silence surrounding co-conspirators to the abrupt end of the
• 18:32
Speaker 1: inquiry after his death. When compared to Combs, Kelly, or Ranieri,
• 18:37
Speaker 1: the disparity is too stark to dismiss as coincidence. Those
• 18:41
Speaker 1: cases were safe to unravel. Epstein's was not. The law
• 18:45
Speaker 1: was not blind here, it was deliberately nearsighted. And once
• 18:48
Speaker 1: you accept that reality, the question stops being why Epstein
• 18:52
Speaker 1: wasn't charged under Rico and becomes who exactly the government
• 18:57
Speaker 1: was protecting by making sure he never was. All of
• 19:02
Speaker 1: the information that goes with this episode can be found
• 19:05
Speaker 1: in the description box. What's up everyone and welcome to
• 19:08
Speaker 1: another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. If anybody is responsible
• 19:13
Speaker 1: for the collective misery of the world, it's the financial sector.
• 19:17
Speaker 1: These slimeballs were tripping over each other to get a
• 19:20
Speaker 1: seat at Epstein's table because, God forbid, they miss another dollar.
• 19:25
Speaker 1: They'll tell you that they had no idea what he
• 19:27
Speaker 1: was up to, like the yachts, the private islands, the
• 19:29
Speaker 1: shady foundations, and the swarm of underage girls around him
• 19:33
Speaker 1: were just quirky lifestyle choices. Yeah, okay. They were lining up, smiling,
• 19:39
Speaker 1: shaking hands, and cashing checks. Because money talks. And in
• 19:43
Speaker 1: that world, morality walks. Meanwhile, those same institutions are the
• 19:48
Speaker 1: ones strangling the rest of us. They treat working people
• 19:51
Speaker 1: like ATMs they can kick when they're low on cash,
• 19:54
Speaker 1: miss a credit card payment, boom, 30% interest, late fees
• 19:58
Speaker 1: stacked like bricks, credit rating tanked so you can't even
• 20:01
Speaker 1: finance a toaster, take out a mortgage, they own you
• 20:04
Speaker 1: for 30 years, bleeding you dry every single month. And
• 20:08
Speaker 1: don't even get me started with student loans. Half this
• 20:12
Speaker 1: country's paying rent to the government and Wall Street just
• 20:14
Speaker 1: for the privilege of trying to get ahead. Mafia-level rackets
• 20:18
Speaker 1: dressed up in business suits. But Epstein? That guy? Well,
• 20:23
Speaker 1: he was a client. He got the red carpet treatment.
• 20:26
Speaker 1: Private wealth management. Exclusive investments. Don't worry about the details, sir.
• 20:30
Speaker 1: We'll handle it all. They bend over backwards for a
• 20:34
Speaker 1: literal predator while the rest of us can't even get
• 20:36
Speaker 1: a bank to approve a car loan. without offering up
• 20:39
Speaker 1: our soul, and first born as collateral. It's the biggest
• 20:42
Speaker 1: joke in the world. The people funding and protecting a
• 20:45
Speaker 1: pervert also happen to be the ones keeping your paycheck
• 20:48
Speaker 1: on a leash. And you know what the cherry on
• 20:51
Speaker 1: top is? They call it wealth transfer. Sounds so clean,
• 20:54
Speaker 1: so clinical. But what it really means is these pigs
• 20:58
Speaker 1: have built a system where money flows one direction only, up.
• 21:02
Speaker 1: They rake it in from overdraft fees, interest rates, balloon payments,
• 21:06
Speaker 1: and fine print. and they laughed their way into executive
• 21:09
Speaker 1: dinners with guys like Epstein. Guys who were nothing but
• 21:13
Speaker 1: walking dollar signs to them. They knew exactly who he was,
• 21:16
Speaker 1: and they didn't care. Why would they? He wasn't some
• 21:20
Speaker 1: middle-class schmuck trying to keep the lights on. He was
• 21:22
Speaker 1: their meal ticket. So yeah, forgive me if I don't
• 21:25
Speaker 1: buy the we-had-no-idea routine. These hedge funds and banks are
• 21:29
Speaker 1: like mob bosses in three-piece suits. Oh, they'll fund predators,
• 21:33
Speaker 1: enable criminals, destroy families, and then turn around and lecture
• 21:36
Speaker 1: the rest of us about responsibility. Responsibility? The only responsibility
• 21:41
Speaker 1: they care about is keeping their champagne glasses full while
• 21:44
Speaker 1: the rest of us are out here deciding between paying
• 21:47
Speaker 1: rent or buying groceries. That's the scam. That's the joke.
• 21:51
Speaker 1: That is a cynical truth. And no matter what they
• 21:54
Speaker 1: tell you, Epstein was not some lone wolf. They all
• 21:57
Speaker 1: fed at the trough with him. And when the house
• 21:59
Speaker 1: of cards came crashing down, Not one of them went
• 22:02
Speaker 1: down with him. Funny how that works, huh? Today's article
• 22:06
Speaker 1: is from the Wall Street Journal and the headline, The
• 22:09
Speaker 1: Wall Street Firms That Kept Ties With Jeffrey Epstein Until
• 22:12
Speaker 1: The End. This article was authored by Khadija Safdar. Jeffrey
• 22:18
Speaker 1: Epstein never got kicked out of the Wall Street VIP club.
• 22:22
Speaker 1: Epstein's banking and investment activities in the years before his
• 22:26
Speaker 1: 2019 death were more widespread than previously known, including accounts
• 22:30
Speaker 1: at several banks, as well as large transactions with well-known
• 22:35
Speaker 1: hedge funds, according to documents reviewed by the Wall Street
• 22:38
Speaker 1: Journal and people familiar with the matter. And this is
• 22:42
Speaker 1: what I've been telling you for a long time. Up
• 22:44
Speaker 1: until this point, the banks have taken most of the
• 22:47
Speaker 1: criticism when it comes to Epstein. But let's not forget
• 22:50
Speaker 1: the hedge funds, all the other people that were helping
• 22:53
Speaker 1: him move money, helping him stash money, helping him protect
• 22:56
Speaker 1: his fortune that was built on ill-gotten gains. And it's
• 22:59
Speaker 1: something I've talked about for a very long time. I mean,
• 23:02
Speaker 1: just take a look at Glenn Dubin and Highbridge Capital.
• 23:05
Speaker 1: The whole entire point of Glenn Dubin selling Highbridge to
• 23:10
Speaker 1: JP Morgan was because Jeffrey Epstein facilitated the whole deal.
• 23:14
Speaker 1: Epstein was the middleman. And if you think that was
• 23:16
Speaker 1: the only hedge fund that Epstein was involved in, think again.
• 23:21
Speaker 1: Epstein's estate has turned over to Congress a list of
• 23:24
Speaker 1: more than 20 banks that held accounts for Epstein and
• 23:27
Speaker 1: entities related to him, according to people familiar with the matter.
• 23:30
Speaker 1: The House Oversight Committee is expected to subpoena banks for
• 23:34
Speaker 1: their records. Some of the people said, look, this is
• 23:37
Speaker 1: where it gets dangerous for Epstein's friends. If this is
• 23:41
Speaker 1: a real investigation, which I have my doubts about, then
• 23:44
Speaker 1: following the money is exactly how you get to pay dirt.
• 23:48
Speaker 1: You're never going to nail these people when it comes
• 23:50
Speaker 1: to human trafficking or anything like that. If you want
• 23:53
Speaker 1: to get them, you're going to have to go after
• 23:55
Speaker 1: the money. The same way you went after Al Capone.
• 23:59
Speaker 1: Because if you think Al Capone was protected, wait until
• 24:01
Speaker 1: you get a load of people like Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein
• 24:04
Speaker 1: or Epstein-related entities had accounts with several of those banks
• 24:08
Speaker 1: in his later years, including Wells Fargo, TD Banks, and
• 24:12
Speaker 1: First Bank of Puerto Rico, according to those people. JPMorgan
• 24:17
Speaker 1: Chase has said it closed Epstein's accounts in 2013 and
• 24:21
Speaker 1: Deutsche Bank said it cut them off in 2018. To date,
• 24:25
Speaker 1: JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank are the only banks that have
• 24:28
Speaker 1: been scrutinized by regulators and sued by survivors over their
• 24:32
Speaker 1: ties to Epstein. And I've been advising for years to
• 24:35
Speaker 1: go after these other financial institutions. The hedge funds, these
• 24:39
Speaker 1: other banks, other people that were involved, go after them all.
• 24:44
Speaker 1: The documents reviewed by the journal show that in the
• 24:46
Speaker 1: years before he died, Epstein moved more than $ 60 million
• 24:50
Speaker 1: into Honeycomb Partners, an investment fund, received $ 13. 5 million from
• 24:55
Speaker 1: a hedge fund run by Paul Tudor Jones, and sold
• 24:58
Speaker 1: $ 15 million worth of private company shares to crypto investor
• 25:02
Speaker 1: blockchain capital. Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 in Florida to
• 25:07
Speaker 1: charges of solicitation of prostitution and procurement of minors to
• 25:11
Speaker 1: engage in prostitution under a deal with prosecutors. His activities
• 25:16
Speaker 1: set off compliance concerns at J.P. Morgan, but he remained
• 25:19
Speaker 1: a prized client until 2013. Then, he moved many of
• 25:23
Speaker 1: his accounts to Deutsche Bank, the oligarch's favorite bank. Has
• 25:27
Speaker 1: Deutsche Bank ever met a scumbag degenerate? they haven't wanted
• 25:32
Speaker 1: to do business with. I mean, we're talking about a
• 25:34
Speaker 1: rogues gallery of people who have had accounts with Deutsche Bank.
• 25:39
Speaker 1: From every oligarch you can imagine to the cartels to
• 25:42
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. Meanwhile, these people are smashing you with a
• 25:46
Speaker 1: 30% finance rate for a credit card. JP Morgan and
• 25:52
Speaker 1: Deutsche Bank have said they regret their relationships with Epstein
• 25:55
Speaker 1: and have settled civil lawsuits brought by Epstein survivors without
• 25:59
Speaker 1: admitting wrongdoing. And that's the rub, right? They can buy
• 26:03
Speaker 1: their way out. All these people can. All these institutions can.
• 26:06
Speaker 1: And then that gives them the cover. Oh, look, these
• 26:09
Speaker 1: girls just wanted payouts. No, that's the only kind of
• 26:12
Speaker 1: restitution they were going to get. They know they're not
• 26:15
Speaker 1: going to get justice. So what are they supposed to do?
• 26:18
Speaker 1: And unfortunately, that's the way the system's set up, right?
• 26:22
Speaker 1: Rich people like this can hide behind their bank accounts
• 26:25
Speaker 1: and pay people off to go away. and then they'll
• 26:28
Speaker 1: just do it again. And when they get caught, when
• 26:30
Speaker 1: they get outed, all their buddies are just like, oh,
• 26:32
Speaker 1: we had no idea what was going on. We had
• 26:35
Speaker 1: no clue so-and-so was such a scumbag. Epstein had bank
• 26:38
Speaker 1: accounts associated with a complex web of entities that he
• 26:41
Speaker 1: used for his personal and business activities, including sending payments
• 26:46
Speaker 1: to women, managing his real estate, and running his financial
• 26:49
Speaker 1: advisory business. Financial advisory business, huh? Can we see the
• 26:53
Speaker 1: client list? That's a client list that exists. Has one
• 26:57
Speaker 1: or two clients on it, but it's a list that exists.
• 27:00
Speaker 1: Let's see that. A spokesman for TD Bank said accounts
• 27:04
Speaker 1: held by Epstein's lawyer and accountant were closed and relationships
• 27:07
Speaker 1: terminated in 2019. A spokesman for First Bank Puerto Rico
• 27:12
Speaker 1: said Epstein was a legacy relationship that was acquired when
• 27:16
Speaker 1: the bank purchased Chase Banking Operations in the U.S. Virgin
• 27:19
Speaker 1: Islands in 2002. A spokesman for Wells Fargo declined to comment. Oh,
• 27:24
Speaker 1: I am sure they did. Can you imagine how these
• 27:27
Speaker 1: roaches are scrambling in the back room, trying to get
• 27:30
Speaker 1: rid of information, dump documents? Having a sex crime conviction
• 27:35
Speaker 1: alone wouldn't necessarily disqualify someone from a banking service. Banks
• 27:39
Speaker 1: use many factors to evaluate the legal and reputational risk
• 27:43
Speaker 1: of retaining clients and are required to monitor suspicious activity
• 27:47
Speaker 1: such as frequent cash withdrawals. Hedge funds and VC firms
• 27:52
Speaker 1: face lighter regulation than banks and don't typically have access
• 27:56
Speaker 1: to transaction activity. The documents reviewed by the Journal show
• 28:01
Speaker 1: that Epstein transferred at least $ 60 million to Honeycomb Partners
• 28:04
  Speaker 1: between 2016 and 2019, including $ 20 million in March of 2019.
• 28:09
Speaker 1: The firm is run by David Feisel, who was a
• 28:14
Speaker 1: star portfolio manager at Steve Cohen's. 72 hedge fund before
• 28:19
Speaker 1: he left in 2015. Feisel recently told clients that he
• 28:23
Speaker 1: was returning their money saying he saw fewer investment opportunities.
• 28:27
Speaker 1: Feisal and a lawyer for Honeycomb didn't reply to requests
• 28:31
Speaker 1: for comment. And look, get used to that. None of
• 28:35
Speaker 1: these people are going to reply. Why would they? It's
• 28:38
Speaker 1: only going to make things worse for them, so they'll
• 28:40
Speaker 1: just shut up and wait for us all to get
• 28:42
Speaker 1: over it. A spokesman for Tudor Investments said one of
• 28:46
Speaker 1: Epstein's entities invested in its Tudor's Future Fund in 2001
• 28:51
Speaker 1: and redeemed its investment in 2014. He said Jones, the
• 28:55
Speaker 1: billionaire investor and senior tutor personnel, didn't know Epstein personally
• 28:59
Speaker 1: and didn't have any direct communication or other business with him. Again,
• 29:03
Speaker 1: the whole amnesia routine. Does anyone believe it? Does anyone
• 29:07
Speaker 1: really believe they have no idea who they're doing business with?
• 29:10
Speaker 1: That they have no idea who's bringing in millions? Blockchain
• 29:14
Speaker 1: was co-founded in 2013 by Brock Pierce, a serial entrepreneur
• 29:19
Speaker 1: and chair of the Bitcoin Foundation to invest in startups
• 29:22
Speaker 1: or crypto tokens. A spokesman for blockchain said three of
• 29:26
Speaker 1: its funds purchased stakes in private companies from Epstein in 2018,
• 29:31
Speaker 1: but he wasn't an investor in its fund. Pierce said
• 29:35
Speaker 1: he left the firm in 2017. Yo, the Epstein rot
• 29:37
Speaker 1: runs so deep. that it's almost hard to quantify, especially
• 29:43
Speaker 1: when we're talking about inside of the financial sector. And
• 29:47
Speaker 1: this is something I've been trying to hammer home to
• 29:48
Speaker 1: you folks for a very, very long time. If you're
• 29:51
Speaker 1: looking for a boogeyman, it's not under your bed. It's
• 29:54
Speaker 1: not your neighbor. It's the guy that's giving you a
• 29:57
Speaker 1: 30% rate on your loan. That's the boogeyman. The documents
• 30:03
Speaker 1: also show that Epstein transferred about $ 38 million into Booth
• 30:07
Speaker 1: Bay funds between 2014 and 2017 and received about $ 10
• 30:13
Speaker 1: million in January 2017 from one of them. Booth Bay
• 30:17
Speaker 1: was founded in 2011 and is run by investor Ari Glass.
• 30:22
Speaker 1: A spokesman for Booth Bay, said the fund had no
• 30:25
Speaker 1: relationship with Epstein beyond its limited partner interest and upon
• 30:29
Speaker 1: his 2019 arrest, subjected him to a compulsory redemption. And
• 30:34
Speaker 1: if that's the case, you can't get too mad at Boothbay, right?
• 30:37
Speaker 1: They found out what he was and they dipped. That's
• 30:40
Speaker 1: how everybody should be conducting themselves. The problem is, they didn't.
• 30:46
Speaker 1: The documents also confirm some of Epstein's transactions that have
• 30:49
Speaker 1: been previously reported with well-known associates, including tens of millions
• 30:53
Speaker 1: of dollars in transfers from private equity billionaire Leon Black,
• 30:57
Speaker 1: one of Epstein's financial clients, more than $ 20 million that
• 31:01
Speaker 1: Epstein invested in Valor Ventures, a VC firm anchored by
• 31:05
Speaker 1: tech billionaire Peter Thiel, and $ 25 million that Epstein received
• 31:09
Speaker 1: from the Rothschilds' banking family. Oh, I can see the
• 31:13
Speaker 1: conspiracy people going nuts with that one. I'm sure I'm
• 31:15
Speaker 1: going to get some of those Illuminati emails now. And
• 31:18
Speaker 1: guess what? You're not wrong for being suspicious. Villar met
• 31:23
Speaker 1: Epstein just once in 2014, at a time when he
• 31:26
Speaker 1: was a well-known advisor to world leaders, a top university,
• 31:29
Speaker 1: and philanthropic organizations, a spokesman said. And he was also
• 31:33
Speaker 1: a child molester, convicted. But sure, let's say that all
• 31:37
Speaker 1: the other people were friends with him, right? It's like
• 31:40
Speaker 1: when you were a kid. Hey mom, Johnny's going to
• 31:42
Speaker 1: jump off a building. Well, you're not going, but Johnny's
• 31:46
Speaker 1: mom said I could. I'm not Johnny's mom. That kind
• 31:49
Speaker 1: of deal, right? For me, I don't care what anybody
• 31:52
Speaker 1: else is saying or doing. The fact that Jeffrey Epstein
• 31:55
Speaker 1: is a convicted child molester should be a full stop
• 31:58
Speaker 1: for everybody involved, but it wasn't. So, here we are.
• 32:04
Speaker 1: Valor hopes that the eventual distribution of these investments can
• 32:07
Speaker 1: be put to positive use by helping victims move forward
• 32:10
Speaker 1: with their lives. The New York Times previously reported on
• 32:14
Speaker 1: Epstein's investment in Valor. Black has said that he paid
• 32:18
Speaker 1: Epstein estate planning and tax advice in 2021. A law
• 32:23
Speaker 1: firm hired by the Apollo Global Management Board found that
• 32:26
Speaker 1: Black paid Epstein $ 158 million for work performed from 2012
• 32:31
Speaker 1: to 2017. Now say it with me, folks. He was
• 32:35
Speaker 1: already a child molester. No problem for Leon Black, though.
• 32:39
Speaker 1: Let's piece this dude off $ 158 million. The Journal previously
• 32:46
Speaker 1: reported that Arianne D. Rothschild negotiated a $ 25 million consulting
• 32:51
Speaker 1: contract with Epstein in 2015 to provide services to the bank.
• 32:56
Speaker 1: Spokespeople for Black and Rothschild are declined to comment. Of
• 33:01
Speaker 1: course they did. Because it's all true. That's what we're
• 33:05
Speaker 1: left with, right? Oh, well, I'm not going to comment
• 33:08
Speaker 1: on it. I'm just going to hide. Okay, fine. I
• 33:10
Speaker 1: think it's all true then. The documents also reveal some
• 33:14
Speaker 1: payments to known Epstein associates that haven't previously been reported.
• 33:19
Speaker 1: Joy Ito, $ 1 million. Epstein paid the former MIT Media
• 33:23
Speaker 1: Lab director about $ 1 million in 2014 and 2015. and
• 33:28
Speaker 1: received nearly $ 500, 000 from him in 2015, the documents show.
• 33:33
Speaker 1: In April of 2015, Epstein also sent $ 1 million to Neo10E3,
• 33:39
Speaker 1: an investment fund Ito created that year. Ito resigned from
• 33:43
Speaker 1: his MIT role in 2019, apologized for his association with Epstein,
• 33:48
Speaker 1: and said he would return the money Epstein invested into
• 33:51
Speaker 1: the fund. Ito didn't respond to a request for comment.
• 33:55
Speaker 1: And that's exactly what I'm talking about. These people have
• 33:57
Speaker 1: had ample time to come forward and say, oh, look,
• 34:00
Speaker 1: I looked at my books, and I had more money
• 34:02
Speaker 1: from Epstein than I thought. But they don't do it,
• 34:05
Speaker 1: do they? They wait until they get called out. And then,
• 34:07
Speaker 1: of course, it's, oh, I had no idea. You know,
• 34:10
Speaker 1: I wasn't friends with them. I never took any money.
• 34:14
Speaker 1: Don't believe your eyes. Believe what I tell you. Terry
• 34:18
Speaker 1: Rod Larson, 250 Gs. Epstein transferred $ 250, 000 to the Norwegian
• 34:24
Speaker 1: diplomat in December of 2015, the documents show. Rod Larson
• 34:29
Speaker 1: resigned in 2020 from the International Peace Institute after he
• 34:33
  Speaker 1: acknowledged he received a $ 130, 000 personal loan from Epstein in 2013. Imagine? $ 130, 000
• 34:36
Speaker 1: personal loan? Anybody out there want to hook your boy up? $ 130, 000
• 34:38
Speaker 1: personal loan from someone you hardly know, huh? Okay. A
• 34:51
Speaker 1: lawyer for Rod Larson said he had no comment. Alan Dershowitz, $ 85, 000.
• 34:57
Speaker 1: On March 21, 2016, Epstein paid $ 85, 000 to Alan Dershowitz Consulting.
• 35:04
Speaker 1: The attorney said it was an overdue payment from representing
• 35:07
Speaker 1: Epstein in the 2000s during his plea negotiations. He thought
• 35:11
Speaker 1: it was a terrible deal, and he fired me, the
• 35:13
Speaker 1: lawyer said. All part of the plan, huh? All part
• 35:16
Speaker 1: of the cover-up. Alright, Jeffy, I'll get you this deal,
• 35:19
Speaker 1: and then afterwards you fire me, and it'll be that
• 35:21
Speaker 1: smokescreen we're looking for. From 2003 to 2013, Epstein paid
• 35:27
Speaker 1: 46 law firms and litigation-related entities, and among those, the
• 35:31
Speaker 1: top paid was Dershowitz, who received $ 4 million during that period,
• 35:35
Speaker 1: court documents show. But I thought he fired you. I
• 35:39
Speaker 1: thought you weren't friends. Everything Dershowitz says about his relationship
• 35:43
Speaker 1: with Epstein, I find questionable. Dershowitz said that he collected
• 35:47
Speaker 1: an hourly fee for his work on the 2008 plea
• 35:50
Speaker 1: deal and that he was Epstein's longest-serving lawyer on the matter.
• 35:54
Speaker 1: He said that he used the sum in part to
• 35:56
Speaker 1: pay lawyers, researchers, travel, and other expenses over four years.
• 36:01
Speaker 1: I think I made about $ 3 million myself, he said.
• 36:04
  Speaker 1: A cool $ 3 million, huh? Okay. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulaym. $ 6, 200. $ 6, 200.
• 36:13
  Speaker 1: On July 18, 2017, the Dubai businessman paid Epstein $ 6, 200
• 36:19
Speaker 1: a document show, and a day later, Epstein paid bin
• 36:22
Speaker 1: Suleiman the same amount. The longtime chief executive of DP World,
• 36:27
Speaker 1: a ports operator, was scheduled to visit Epstein's townhouse between
• 36:30
Speaker 1: 2011 and 2014, the Journal previously reported. The sultan and
• 36:37
Speaker 1: his spokesman didn't respond to requests for comment. Larry Summers $ 1, 232. 25.
• 36:45
  Speaker 1: In November of 2014, Epstein paid $ 1, 232. 25 to L.H. Summers
• 36:54
Speaker 1: Economic Consulting. A spokeswoman said Summers said the payment was
• 36:59
Speaker 1: a travel reimbursement for a group meeting in New York City.
• 37:03
Speaker 1: The former Treasury Secretary, who had more than a dozen
• 37:05
Speaker 1: meetings scheduled with Epstein from 2013 through 2016, said in
• 37:11
Speaker 1: 2023 that he deeply regrets his contact with Epstein after
• 37:15
Speaker 1: his conviction. Oh, I'm sure. After the conviction, but previous,
• 37:20
Speaker 1: it was game on, huh? When you guys were all
• 37:22
Speaker 1: riding high on the hog with Bill Clinton, everything was great.
• 37:25
Speaker 1: But when you got outed, then it became the marathon.
• 37:29
Speaker 1: We have no idea. We weren't his friend. I never
• 37:33
Speaker 1: took anything from him. Meanwhile, the truth is right here
• 37:36
Speaker 1: in black and white for everybody to see. And once
• 37:39
Speaker 1: you see it, there's no going back. You can't pretend
• 37:41
Speaker 1: that it's not happening or that it didn't happen, that
• 37:44
Speaker 1: these people that are in control of basically the world
• 37:47
Speaker 1: were not only palling around with this dude, but in
• 37:50
Speaker 1: a lot of cases, enabling him, and in some cases,
• 37:53
Speaker 1: even aiding and abetting. And some of them, unfortunately, were
• 37:58
Speaker 1: taking part in the abuse, according to survivors and witness reports.
• 38:02
Speaker 1: So for all the people out there that are always
• 38:04
Speaker 1: looking for these lists, why don't we start with the
• 38:06
Speaker 1: names that we have and then go from there. All
• 38:10
Speaker 1: of the information that goes with this episode can be
• 38:13
Speaker 1: found in the description box. What's up everyone, and welcome
• 38:17
Speaker 1: to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. One of the
• 38:23
Speaker 1: key aspects of going after an enterprise such as Jeffrey
• 38:26
Speaker 1: Epstein's is to follow the money. And it's something that
• 38:29
Speaker 1: has never really been done with the proper kind of efficiency. Now,
• 38:34
Speaker 1: of course, there have been records subpoenaed, There have been
• 38:37
Speaker 1: civil cases, but I'm talking about a robust criminal investigation
• 38:43
Speaker 1: with a forensic accountant going after all of these different
• 38:46
Speaker 1: accounts that Epstein had and all the different places where
• 38:50
Speaker 1: he was sending money. Because under normal circumstances, if you
• 38:54
Speaker 1: receive money from a criminal enterprise or somebody engaged in
• 38:57
Speaker 1: a criminal enterprise, then your bank account and your money
• 39:00
Speaker 1: can be frozen as well because you received ill-gotten gains.
• 39:04
Speaker 1: So they feel like you're a part of the criminal
• 39:06
Speaker 1: network now. And you're going to have to prove that
• 39:08
Speaker 1: you're not. But that's only for normal people, right? When
• 39:11
Speaker 1: it comes to Jeffrey Epstein's friends or Jeffrey Epstein himself,
• 39:15
Speaker 1: they have a whole different set of rules that they follow.
• 39:18
Speaker 1: So in this episode, we're going to talk a little
• 39:19
Speaker 1: bit more about the money trail and how Congress has
• 39:22
Speaker 1: received banking records from Jeffrey Epstein's estate. Today's article is
• 39:29
Speaker 1: from CBS News. and the headline. Lawmakers obtain Epstein's banking records,
• 39:35
Speaker 1: release photos of his private island compound. This article was
• 39:39
Speaker 1: authored by Katherine Watson. Democrats on the House Committee on
• 39:44
Speaker 1: Oversight and Government Reform said Wednesday that the committee was
• 39:48
Speaker 1: has received financial records related to Jeffrey Epstein from JPMorgan
• 39:52
Speaker 1: Chase and Deutsche Bank, while releasing what they said were
• 39:56
Speaker 1: never-before-seen photos and videos of Epstein's private island in the Caribbean. Well,
• 40:01
Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. I never saw those pictures with
• 40:05
Speaker 1: those weird-ass masks. Now, again, we've seen the dental chair before,
• 40:10
Speaker 1: and we've heard people talk about it, but those masks,
• 40:13
Speaker 1: that adds a whole different layer. And if you recall,
• 40:17
Speaker 1: we have some of Epstein's survivors talking about how she
• 40:20
Speaker 1: saw people shapeshift. Juliette Bryant. So could that have been
• 40:24
Speaker 1: her deep in trauma and these people wearing these masks?
• 40:29
Speaker 1: Certainly something to think about. The financial documents could offer
• 40:33
Speaker 1: a window into Epstein's extensive business dealings and connections. Epstein
• 40:38
Speaker 1: was a major client of J.P. Morgan, private banking division
• 40:41
Speaker 1: for years before the bank cut ties with him in 2013.
• 40:45
Speaker 1: Epstein then took his business to Deutsche Bank, where he
• 40:48
Speaker 1: remained until 2018. He died by suicide in a Manhattan
• 40:52
Speaker 1: jail in 2019 as he faced federal sex trafficking charges. Boy,
• 40:57
Speaker 1: they say that confidently, huh? So let me get this straight.
• 41:01
Speaker 1: CBS News doesn't trust the administration about anything, but they're
• 41:05
Speaker 1: going to take the administration's word for it that Epstein died?
• 41:08
Speaker 1: All right, cool, I guess. Both banks reached legal settlements
• 41:12
Speaker 1: in 2023 over their involvement with Epstein, Deutsche Bank agreed
• 41:16
Speaker 1: to pay $ 75 million to settle a lawsuit from his accusers,
• 41:20
Speaker 1: claiming the bank knowingly benefited from his sex trafficking. Well, yeah,
• 41:25
Speaker 1: they did. 100% without a doubt. Do you really think
• 41:29
Speaker 1: the bank is paying up this kind of dough if
• 41:32
Speaker 1: they had no fault here? They have the best lawyers
• 41:35
Speaker 1: in the world, more money than just about any country.
• 41:40
Speaker 1: And you think they're going to just pay out a
• 41:41
Speaker 1: bunch of dough and know? That this is going to
• 41:44
Speaker 1: hang over their heads moving forward? That people are going
• 41:46
Speaker 1: to refer to it? There's no chance. The reason they
• 41:49
Speaker 1: got into these settlements, the reason they paid out this
• 41:52
Speaker 1: gigantic bag, is because they knew they were culpable. That's
• 41:56
Speaker 1: the only reason they're going to pay out that kind
• 41:57
Speaker 1: of money. Especially if something's a hoax. JP Morgan settled
• 42:02
Speaker 1: its own suit for $ 290 million, CBS News reported at
• 42:05
Speaker 1: the time. Both banks have said they regret their association
• 42:10
Speaker 1: with Epstein. Yeah, they regret it so much that they
• 42:13
Speaker 1: stayed in business with him for all those years. Real regretful, huh?
• 42:18
Speaker 1: You see, the truth is, they regret getting caught. That's
• 42:21
Speaker 1: all that they regret. Representative Robert Garcia of California, the
• 42:25
Speaker 1: ranking member on the Oversight Committee, said Democrats plan to
• 42:29
Speaker 1: make the financial records public in the days ahead. Well,
• 42:32
Speaker 1: that's a good idea. All those records should be public. Remember,
• 42:37
Speaker 1: this is a settled case. Why are we still protecting people? Oh,
• 42:41
Speaker 1: the bank's going to be embarrassed. Well, they should be.
• 42:44
Speaker 1: And considering they don't show any humility on their own,
• 42:46
Speaker 1: maybe we should force it from them. The committee also
• 42:51
Speaker 1: released 73 photos and 4 videos of Epstein's estate on
• 42:54
Speaker 1: the 72-acre island known as Little St. James that he
• 42:58
Speaker 1: owned in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Epstein allegedly exploited underage
• 43:02
Speaker 1: girls for sex at the island. And he had stakes
• 43:05
Speaker 1: in businesses in the U.S. territory. Allegedly? Really, allegedly? This
• 43:13
Speaker 1: man was wholesale raping people on that island and elsewhere.
• 43:17
Speaker 1: Just tell the truth. What, are you scared you're going
• 43:20
Speaker 1: to get sued? I dare them to sue somebody. Imagine
• 43:24
Speaker 1: what discovery would look like. There's a reason nobody's suing anybody.
• 43:27
Speaker 1: Because they all know that once discovery comes, they're going
• 43:30
Speaker 1: to get cooked. We're releasing these photos and videos to
• 43:33
Speaker 1: ensure public transparency in our investigation and to help piece
• 43:37
Speaker 1: together the full picture of Epstein's horrific crimes. We won't
• 43:41
Speaker 1: stop fighting until we deliver justice. for the survivors. It's
• 43:45
Speaker 1: time for President Trump to release all the files now.
• 43:48
Speaker 1: And keep in mind, all of this would go away
• 43:51
Speaker 1: if Trump would just release the files. Imagine how different
• 43:54
Speaker 1: this conversation would have been if Trump would have just
• 43:56
Speaker 1: walked up there and said, look, I'm declassifying all of this.
• 43:59
Speaker 1: Let the chips fall where they may. He would have
• 44:03
Speaker 1: turned himself into the guy that's really transparent like he
• 44:06
Speaker 1: said he was and the guy that follows through with
• 44:08
Speaker 1: campaign promises. But no. Instead, he backtracks on everything and
• 44:13
Speaker 1: even takes it a step further by calling it a hoax.
• 44:18
Speaker 1: Some of the images and footage included unredacted versions of
• 44:21
Speaker 1: several photos that were previously published by O'Keefe Media Group,
• 44:25
Speaker 1: a conservative outlet. The photos released by the committee show
• 44:28
Speaker 1: what appeared to be various rooms in the estate, including bedrooms, bathrooms,
• 44:32
Speaker 1: and kitchens. One photo shows partially redacted handwriting on a
• 44:36
Speaker 1: blackboard in an office. Another shows what appears to be
• 44:40
Speaker 1: a medical office with masses of men's faces hanging from
• 44:44
Speaker 1: the walls. Others show various views from outside the building.
• 44:49
Speaker 1: And again, those faces are creepy, man. I don't even
• 44:52
Speaker 1: know how else to put it. That's like some shit
• 44:54
Speaker 1: out of, like, Hostel or something. Saw. Imagine sitting there
• 44:59
Speaker 1: getting your teeth cleaned and all these weird-ass masks are
• 45:02
Speaker 1: hanging out on the walls. Like, what must be going
• 45:05
Speaker 1: through your mind? I know I'd be saying to myself,
• 45:08
Speaker 1: what the fuck is happening right now? Where am I?
• 45:11
Speaker 1: Who are these people? And what the hell's up with
• 45:14
Speaker 1: all these masks on the wall? And I'm talking about
• 45:19
Speaker 1: the people that we're visiting. Imagine coming to somebody's house
• 45:22
Speaker 1: and seeing this kind of decor and not having any questions.
• 45:27
Speaker 1: One of the photos shows a dentist chair, which a
• 45:29
Speaker 1: source tells CBS News was put in for one of
• 45:32
Speaker 1: Epstein's girlfriends, a European woman who was studying to be
• 45:35
Speaker 1: a dentist. 100% true. That is absolutely true. but it's
• 45:40
Speaker 1: the other stuff surrounding it. I mean, just looking at
• 45:43
Speaker 1: the picture, you got massage tables everywhere. You got those
• 45:47
Speaker 1: weird ass masks. The whole ass vibe is off. I mean,
• 45:50
Speaker 1: everything about this room, about the decor, everything, screams no
• 45:54
Speaker 1: fucking thank you. And anybody who had access to that
• 45:57
Speaker 1: room or was in that room ever and didn't say
• 46:00
Speaker 1: anything about it, how do you justify that? I mean,
• 46:03
Speaker 1: if I showed up at somebody's house with this kind
• 46:05
Speaker 1: of decor, you better believe I'm telling everybody about it
• 46:09
Speaker 1: If he ends up going to prison for some sordid
• 46:12
Speaker 1: ass sex crime or something. 1000%. But you have all
• 46:15
Speaker 1: these people that were familiar with this room. With the island.
• 46:19
Speaker 1: With Jeffrey Epstein. Who are still playing dumb. The problem
• 46:23
Speaker 1: for them is. With all of this information coming out.
• 46:26
Speaker 1: That's becoming harder and harder to do. And a lot
• 46:29
Speaker 1: of people just aren't buying it anymore. Because it really
• 46:32
Speaker 1: stretches the imagination. To think that people were around him
• 46:35
Speaker 1: so often. at his properties, enjoying his house, enjoying his hospitality,
• 46:40
Speaker 1: and they had no idea. And now look, I'm not
• 46:42
Speaker 1: saying everybody knew every single detail, but you have to
• 46:45
Speaker 1: be one stupid son of a bitch not to have
• 46:48
Speaker 1: some questions about what's going on at a place like Epstein's.
• 46:53
Speaker 1: The Oversight Committee sent a request to the U.S. Virgin
• 46:56
Speaker 1: Islands Attorney General on November 18th for all documents, communications,
• 47:00
Speaker 1: and other information regarding about investigations or potential criminal investigations
• 47:06
Speaker 1: related to Epstein or Glenn Maxwell, according to Garcia. Maxwell
• 47:11
Speaker 1: is currently serving a 20-year sentence for conspiring with Jeffrey
• 47:14
Speaker 1: Epstein to sexually abuse minors, as the Justice Department put
• 47:19
Speaker 1: it in 2022 when she was sentenced. And if you
• 47:22
Speaker 1: recall at the time of the lawsuit down in the USVI,
• 47:25
Speaker 1: there was a lot of subpoenas being sent out to
• 47:28
Speaker 1: a lot of people, including Elon Musk. So there was
• 47:32
Speaker 1: so much going on behind the scenes as far as
• 47:34
Speaker 1: trying to get information and what the USVI was doing
• 47:38
Speaker 1: that there was a lot that was probably lost in translation.
• 47:42
Speaker 1: So it's going to be interesting to see what they
• 47:44
Speaker 1: get from the USVI and what ends up not being
• 47:47
Speaker 1: redacted because there's a lot of people that got hit
• 47:50
Speaker 1: with subpoenas and a lot of those people have some
• 47:53
Speaker 1: questions to answer, in my opinion, starting with people like
• 47:57
Speaker 1: Glenn Dubin, Les Wexner, and Leon Black. How about we
• 48:00
Speaker 1: start there? Separate from records the Oversight Committee has released,
• 48:05
Speaker 1: Congress passed and President Trump signed a law giving the
• 48:08
Speaker 1: Justice Department 30 days to release all records it has
• 48:12
Speaker 1: related to Jeffrey Epstein. That 30-day countdown began after the
• 48:16
Speaker 1: law was signed on November 19th. It's not yet clear
• 48:20
Speaker 1: how much information will be redacted. Oh, I think it's
• 48:23
Speaker 1: pretty clear. I think we're going to get a bunch
• 48:25
Speaker 1: of redactions and a gigantic middle finger by the DOJ
• 48:29
Speaker 1: and Pam Bondi once again. What have they done that
• 48:34
Speaker 1: gives you any confidence that anything's going to be different
• 48:38
Speaker 1: when it comes to this release? They haven't been transparent
• 48:41
Speaker 1: this whole entire time. They've told us nothing but bullshit lies. Oh,
• 48:44
Speaker 1: the list is on my desk. I have truck fulls
• 48:46
Speaker 1: of information, yada, yada, yada. And then to show up
• 48:50
Speaker 1: to the party with nothing in your hands. So forgive
• 48:53
Speaker 1: me if I don't believe you this time when you
• 48:55
Speaker 1: say you're going to bring pizza and some beers, because
• 48:58
Speaker 1: every time you say you're going to bring something to
• 49:00
Speaker 1: the party, you show up empty handed. And I have
• 49:03
Speaker 1: a funny feeling that that's going to be the case
• 49:05
Speaker 1: again when we get these files. Now, the difference is
• 49:09
Speaker 1: I don't think people are going to accept it this time.
• 49:11
Speaker 1: I think there's enough people out there that are fired
• 49:14
Speaker 1: up and pissed off that there is going to be
• 49:16
Speaker 1: a gigantic backlash if they try to redact everything. So
• 49:21
Speaker 1: we're going to have to see what comes of it.
• 49:22
Speaker 1: But I think that if they really want clarity and
• 49:25
Speaker 1: they really want to get going, the path to do
• 49:29
Speaker 1: that is to follow the financials. And hopefully this is
• 49:33
Speaker 1: the start of them doing that because the financials, well,
• 49:37
Speaker 1: they don't lie. They can't be intimidated. They can't be pressed.
• 49:42
Speaker 1: They can't be paid off. They are what they are.
• 49:45
Speaker 1: And that's why, especially in this case, following the money
• 49:48
Speaker 1: trail is the ultimate equalizer. The question is, do they
• 49:53
Speaker 1: have the heart for it? All of the information that
• 49:57
Speaker 1: goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
