- 0:47Speaker 3: entrepreneur keyword city. Yes, yes, yes, I wanna do that introduction.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Yeah, man, I mean it's been a minute. Man. We've
- 0:55Speaker 1: been trying to sit down with this guy for a
- 0:56Speaker 1: while just because of the value that he's at. It
- 0:59Speaker 1: now only unity, but to his city in anytime we
- 1:02Speaker 1: run into him, the level of hospitality when we talk
- 1:04Speaker 1: about Southern hospitality. This dude embodies it, man, and so
- 1:08Speaker 1: I got Larry Morrils with us, the legend himself. So
- 1:12Speaker 1: we appreciate you joining us, my gun.
- 1:14Speaker 4: And I appreciate your sharing this platform.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:16Speaker 5: You know, we've been talking about it for a minute,
- 1:17Speaker 5: and it was just the honor just to be able
- 1:19Speaker 5: to be here and do this in New Orleans doing
- 1:22Speaker 5: a beautiful black weekend.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Were in your city, man, We're in your city.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Oh man, Man, thank you. Okay, this is dope.
- 1:28Speaker 6: Man.
- 1:28Speaker 5: You know, I've been watching what you've been doing for
- 1:30Speaker 5: a long time and just be sitting right here doing
- 1:32Speaker 5: this with y'all in New Orleans means a lot.
- 1:35Speaker 2: You just enlightened us. So I appreciate it.
- 1:37Speaker 3: You could you can do the education of where we
- 1:40Speaker 3: are better than we can, obviously because you're from the city.
- 1:43Speaker 2: So can you let the people.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Know because this is going to go obviously on YouTube
- 1:47Speaker 3: and all that, So let the people know where we
- 1:49Speaker 3: are in the significance of this.
- 1:51Speaker 5: So when you told me he was coming to New Orleans,
- 1:54Speaker 5: and I got a good friend of mine named DJ
- 1:58Speaker 5: when he took over the spot. We met for years
- 2:00Speaker 5: back during the pandemic when he purchased this location, and
- 2:02Speaker 5: this was an iconic location. It was Jeans, poor Boys,
- 2:06Speaker 5: and it was dope to know that a brother got it.
- 2:09Speaker 5: And so when I found that out, I was so
- 2:10Speaker 5: happy because you know, this is a big piece of
- 2:13Speaker 5: real estate, you know, on the corner of New Orleans,
- 2:15Speaker 5: and it was just exciting that he got it. And
- 2:18Speaker 5: to watch him develop this bookstore, coffee shop, just this
- 2:21Speaker 5: ecosystem where we can come and read and just you know,
- 2:26Speaker 5: just just just joined, like just coming together, you know,
- 2:29Speaker 5: because there's a lot of different things he do over here.
- 2:32Speaker 4: I was excited.
- 2:32Speaker 5: So when y'all came in town, I wanted to know
- 2:35Speaker 5: y'all to come over here because he's a big fan
- 2:37Speaker 5: of what y'all do.
- 2:38Speaker 4: I'm like, man, let me connect the dots.
- 2:39Speaker 5: So I connected the dots and now we're here, and
- 2:42Speaker 5: it's dope to be able to just you know, connect that,
- 2:44Speaker 5: you know, connect that bridge, and you know, just be
- 2:47Speaker 5: able to be here.
- 2:48Speaker 4: So shout out to DJ. Appreciate you, brother, and coffee
- 2:50Speaker 4: is incredible. Man.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I feel like that's been your story every time we
- 2:52Speaker 1: see you. You're always connecting dots.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Man.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I feel like even with black you know, we we
- 2:57Speaker 1: you know, black was but you were like, you gotta
- 2:59Speaker 1: meet this guy. Uh, And we've had phone conversations like
- 3:02Speaker 1: growing up, is that to know your way? Like we
- 3:04Speaker 1: just got to show up to everybody because oh, is
- 3:06Speaker 1: that unique to you and your people.
- 3:09Speaker 5: I think I've been able to build my brand not
- 3:11Speaker 5: only by you know, being connected, but also connecting dots.
- 3:14Speaker 5: You know, I've learned that, like from a lot of
- 3:15Speaker 5: my mentors, Kenny Burns, Cannon Jasper.
- 3:18Speaker 4: A lot of people around me.
- 3:20Speaker 5: You know, it's like their friends and family become my
- 3:22Speaker 5: friends and family because you know, they will easily insert
- 3:26Speaker 5: me in conversations that I'm not in or rooms that
- 3:28Speaker 5: I'm not in. And so when I saw that at
- 3:31Speaker 5: a young age, my early twenties, I'm thirty two now,
- 3:33Speaker 5: it's just something that's just stuck with me, just connecting
- 3:35Speaker 5: those dots and being from New Orleans, like you know
- 3:38Speaker 5: that Southern hospitality, just bringing people to get up through hospitality.
- 3:41Speaker 3: So we gotta do the formal introduction. Larry Marrow say
- 3:45Speaker 3: your last thing correctly.
- 3:46Speaker 5: Man, you sound you sound like Wallow right now? You
- 3:55Speaker 5: don'd like bone marrow Man Wallow Instagram.
- 4:01Speaker 4: He was like Marrows I'm like.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Tomorrow, what what?
- 4:07Speaker 2: What? What's the last name? Where does that come from?
- 4:11Speaker 4: Asked my daddy, who I don't know.
- 4:16Speaker 3: I thought it was like a New Orleans like no
- 4:18Speaker 3: type of no, I'm not for my knowledge, Well, Larry,
- 4:24Speaker 3: we actually met during the pandemic on Clubhouse. It was
- 4:28Speaker 3: a room where Meek Mill was in a bunch of
- 4:30Speaker 3: other people. That's when Clubhouse was going crazy and we're
- 4:33Speaker 3: talking about crypto. I forgot who who did the introduction,
- 4:36Speaker 3: but might have been, might have been? And then we
- 4:42Speaker 3: connected offline and we spoke a few a few times text,
- 4:46Speaker 3: had the phone conversation and then ever since then, like
- 4:49Speaker 3: we've just been tapped in. And he's one of these
- 4:51Speaker 3: people that always adds value, like he connects.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Us to people were in New Orleans. It's like what
- 4:57Speaker 2: you need?
- 4:59Speaker 3: That's such an un the rated value add like most
- 5:02Speaker 3: people always want to take, very few people give, but
- 5:06Speaker 3: it is better to give than received. And he I'm
- 5:09Speaker 3: sure it's in a position that he's in right now
- 5:11Speaker 3: because I know his spirit, like his spirit is like
- 5:13Speaker 3: how can I help? He's of service and this is
- 5:16Speaker 3: why he's connected with everybody like you see him what
- 5:18Speaker 3: fabulo is, like you said, Gillian Wallow, who don't you know?
- 5:21Speaker 3: Like I feel like every every person in the world
- 5:24Speaker 3: knows Larry and anybody that I asked, I'm like, you
- 5:26Speaker 3: know Larry, Like, yeah, of course I know Larry.
- 5:28Speaker 2: So when you.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Set this up, I thought that it would be dope
- 5:32Speaker 3: for us to interview you because you've given us a lot,
- 5:35Speaker 3: but we never actually had like a real sit down
- 5:37Speaker 3: conversation to cover your story.
- 5:38Speaker 2: You're young, and you're doing it on a high level.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Keep real with him though, Like every time we asked him,
- 5:42Speaker 1: like are you ready? I got some more things I
- 5:44Speaker 1: gotta do, yo. I got the more things I gotta do, yo.
- 5:47Speaker 1: So we finally got you here.
- 5:49Speaker 2: We know them to the corner.
- 5:51Speaker 3: So yeah, he's a restaurant tour he was in a
- 5:53Speaker 3: night is in a night life vibe, great collector of art, investor,
- 6:00Speaker 3: family man, father most importantly and husband and husband and
- 6:05Speaker 3: just a real big figure when it comes to the
- 6:06Speaker 3: community of New Orleans.
- 6:08Speaker 2: So there's gonna be a dope conversation. So thank you,
- 6:10Speaker 2: thank you for joining.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I know you hate I'm gonna say, Larry's a legend man,
- 6:13Speaker 1: like you, really a legend man. And the crazy part
- 6:16Speaker 1: is that we knew about you before we even knew
- 6:18Speaker 1: who you were, because we just kept seeing these these
- 6:21Speaker 1: parties and they're like, yo, who I thought you were
- 6:23Speaker 1: a lot older. I'm like, Yo, this guy must be
- 6:24Speaker 1: established in the game. And then I think when one
- 6:27Speaker 1: night Shotty called me like y'all got Larry on the phone.
- 6:29Speaker 1: You want to talk about trading, I'm like, I bet
- 6:31Speaker 1: and I'm like, yo, Larry a legend. Do we know that?
- 6:34Speaker 1: And I'm the first time I mention him, like yo,
- 6:35Speaker 1: you know you you that guy right, and you're like
- 6:37Speaker 1: nah Sheldon, Nah nah nah Man, but you are though,
- 6:40Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And to be doing this
- 6:41Speaker 1: so young and to be helping people and being of
- 6:43Speaker 1: service at all courts is incredible. Whether we here in
- 6:47Speaker 1: New Orleans, whether we're in Houston where we into three
- 6:49Speaker 1: or five, Like anywhere we go, there's a hospitality and
- 6:52Speaker 1: you could feel the love. Even when we walk through
- 6:54Speaker 1: this building today, it was like, hey, Larry, like you
- 6:56Speaker 1: like the hometown hero in a sense.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Man I appreciate that.
- 6:59Speaker 5: And it's because like yesterday, you know, me and Mano
- 7:01Speaker 5: met for the first time and we got a lot
- 7:03Speaker 5: of mutual friends, and Mano was like, yo, like like,
- 7:06Speaker 5: we're just meeting, but I've known you.
- 7:08Speaker 4: For a long time. He said.
- 7:10Speaker 5: Everybody speak about you, he said, fab everybody they.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Talk about you. And it's like, man, you're really a legend.
- 7:15Speaker 5: I'm like, you know, it's somebody who you know, I've
- 7:17Speaker 5: watched coming up and just to hear, you know, different
- 7:21Speaker 5: acknowledgements from people who come before me and you know,
- 7:24Speaker 5: been in the game for a long time and the knowledge,
- 7:25Speaker 5: you know, what I do down in New Orleans, which
- 7:27Speaker 5: I feel like down in New Orleans we don't get
- 7:29Speaker 5: as much light as we need.
- 7:31Speaker 4: You know, we're in the city.
- 7:33Speaker 5: Where it's about the culture and the food, but we
- 7:35Speaker 5: get a lot of tourism.
- 7:36Speaker 4: But you know, we're not in Hollywood.
- 7:38Speaker 5: We're not in Black Hollywood, Atlanta, we're not in la
- 7:40Speaker 5: We're not in Houston, h in these bigger markets with
- 7:43Speaker 5: bigger companies and bigger platforms. So to be here and
- 7:46Speaker 5: to have light shine and know people around the country
- 7:49Speaker 5: have been watching what I'm doing and a knowledge of
- 7:51Speaker 5: what I'm doing, Man.
- 7:52Speaker 4: It's just like so inspiring just to you know, be
- 7:55Speaker 4: a part of it.
- 7:56Speaker 1: But on for the city.
- 7:57Speaker 2: So let's get into it. So you're a restaurant tour, right, But.
- 8:02Speaker 3: How do you get into the restaurant It's one of
- 8:04Speaker 3: the hardest businesses to get into. And you open up
- 8:07Speaker 3: successful restaurants at a very young age. But how does
- 8:12Speaker 3: that transition happen from you originally started with nightlife?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Right yep? So yeah, how does the.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Transition happen from night life to being a restaurant tour
- 8:21Speaker 3: How do you maintain successful restaurants when ninety restaurants fell?
- 8:27Speaker 5: I would say because I built my business from the
- 8:30Speaker 5: ground up, and it wasn't.
- 8:31Speaker 4: With my Like I wasn't born with money.
- 8:33Speaker 5: I didn't have it. You know, I worked, you know,
- 8:34Speaker 5: fourteen years old. People don't know I was working at McDonald's,
- 8:37Speaker 5: worked that finish line. I worked at check E Cheese Man,
- 8:39Speaker 5: I worked.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I did valet, I did.
- 8:42Speaker 4: My last jobs was when I was twenty years old.
- 8:44Speaker 5: I did I was, I was doing to vallet and
- 8:46Speaker 5: I was I was a lifeguard at Stalin's Park in
- 8:48Speaker 5: the Civil Ward. And a lot of people don't know
- 8:50Speaker 5: these things. Like I always worked, so I always had
- 8:52Speaker 5: those habits and I work, work, work, But you know,
- 8:54Speaker 5: of course I wanted to create my own you know,
- 8:56Speaker 5: my own things. So when I started at twenty years
- 8:59Speaker 5: old producing events I did. I did my first event,
- 9:03Speaker 5: made like eleven thousand dollars, and you know, I saw, like,
- 9:05Speaker 5: you know, you're twenty years old, you make eleven thousand
- 9:07Speaker 5: dollars from partying. I'm like, oh, okay, party every day,
- 9:13Speaker 5: running back tomorrow. And I was at the stage of
- 9:16Speaker 5: my life I was trying to figure it out, so
- 9:17Speaker 5: just to kind of like, you know, just tell about
- 9:20Speaker 5: the you know, the journey coming up to the rest,
- 9:21Speaker 5: you know, just being into the food industry, twenty years old,
- 9:25Speaker 5: producing events.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Kind of events, just regular parties.
- 9:28Speaker 5: I was just doing regular parties. And one of my
- 9:30Speaker 5: first hosts I bought was Dre Michelle. And me and
- 9:33Speaker 5: Drea are tight to this day, you know, twelve years
- 9:35Speaker 5: strong and we've we've.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Built over years. And she connected with me with so
- 9:38Speaker 4: many people in LA.
- 9:40Speaker 5: The first time going into LA was because she and
- 9:42Speaker 5: her manager invited me because they wanted to return the
- 9:45Speaker 5: hospitality I gave them about in New Orleans.
- 9:47Speaker 4: It's twenty years old.
- 9:48Speaker 5: I didn't know what I was doing, but I wanted
- 9:50Speaker 5: to show them a good time and just show them like,
- 9:52Speaker 5: you know, show them New Orleans and at the end
- 9:55Speaker 5: of the trip that was like, Yo, out of every
- 9:57Speaker 5: place you went to, you being twenty years old, you
- 9:59Speaker 5: gave us the best experience, you know.
- 10:02Speaker 4: So I was like, damn. So they invited me into LA.
- 10:04Speaker 5: I spent my twenty like New Year's Eve when I
- 10:06Speaker 5: was twenty years old, right before my birthday in LA
- 10:09Speaker 5: and that was like the start of it because it
- 10:12Speaker 5: showed me like, damn, I'm able to connect and build
- 10:13Speaker 5: with people being me right Like, I didn't have to
- 10:17Speaker 5: do anything out of ordinary. I was just myself and
- 10:19Speaker 5: just showed them a good time. And you know, she
- 10:20Speaker 5: introduced me to so many people twelve years ago that
- 10:23Speaker 5: I'm still cool with till today. So that right there
- 10:27Speaker 5: was just like the start of like, you know what
- 10:29Speaker 5: helped build you know, where I'm at right now, these
- 10:31Speaker 5: relationships and as y'all know, like a lot of this
- 10:34Speaker 5: strive off relationships, and I've been blessed to build the ecosystem.
- 10:39Speaker 5: You know, I'm rich and rich in love and relationships
- 10:41Speaker 5: and I'm blessed for that.
- 10:42Speaker 4: So that's kind of how it started.
- 10:43Speaker 5: And when I was twenty two years old, I opened
- 10:45Speaker 5: up a spot called Larrys Poor Boys and Wings.
- 10:50Speaker 4: That was what ten years ago.
- 10:53Speaker 5: Yeah, So I opened up that spot and who was
- 10:56Speaker 5: doing well. But I wasn't mentally in the right place.
- 11:00Speaker 5: I was young, wanted to be in the streets, wanted
- 11:01Speaker 5: to have fun. Me and my mommy opened it up
- 11:04Speaker 5: something I did for my family, and you know, it
- 11:07Speaker 5: didn't do what I wanted to do, and I had
- 11:08Speaker 5: to shut it down. I told people, like, you know,
- 11:12Speaker 5: I sold the business because I was embarrassed to say
- 11:14Speaker 5: I lost it.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Yeah, just couldn't keep up with it.
- 11:16Speaker 5: You know, I didn't realize restaurant business you needed more
- 11:18Speaker 5: reserves in order to sustain it. And you know, fast forward,
- 11:23Speaker 5: you know, from twenty two to twenty seven. After I
- 11:25Speaker 5: closed it, I opened up Morrows in twenty eighteen, and
- 11:30Speaker 5: like learning from when I was twenty two and help
- 11:33Speaker 5: prepare for Like when I opened up Morrows, I know
- 11:34Speaker 5: I needed more reserves. I know I needed just I
- 11:39Speaker 5: was just mentally in a better place. You know, I
- 11:40Speaker 5: was much more mature than twenty two years old. So
- 11:43Speaker 5: I opened up Morrows. It was like lining out the door.
- 11:46Speaker 5: I'm like, oh shit, we're onto something.
- 11:47Speaker 1: But it's something there though, right because most people they
- 11:50Speaker 1: tried in the industry that they're not familiar with, it
- 11:52Speaker 1: doesn't work and they quit. Like yo, at least I tried,
- 11:56Speaker 1: Like what was it in you? Like the resiliency there
- 11:58Speaker 1: that was like, all right, it didn't work, but I'm
- 12:01Speaker 1: gonna learn from this. I'm gonna come back. I'm gonna
- 12:03Speaker 1: do it better. Rather than what most people do is
- 12:05Speaker 1: it's like a right, I tried, it didn't work.
- 12:07Speaker 5: More something I would say. I always been a big
- 12:09Speaker 5: risk taker, Like man, I always.
- 12:12Speaker 4: I love the risks.
- 12:13Speaker 5: You know, I grew up, you know, one of my
- 12:15Speaker 5: ways I made money coming up, I gambled, you know,
- 12:17Speaker 5: me and my friends would shoot dice at Dorio's House
- 12:20Speaker 5: of Style.
- 12:21Speaker 4: In the Seven Wall.
- 12:22Speaker 5: And that's one of the things that helped me, you know,
- 12:25Speaker 5: like like it taught me not to like not to
- 12:28Speaker 5: value that dollar because just as as fast I made it,
- 12:30Speaker 5: I lost to gambling. So you know, my perception of
- 12:32Speaker 5: what a dollar was at that time was different than
- 12:35Speaker 5: someone who didn't experience the gambling or taking risks.
- 12:38Speaker 4: So I was taking risks and I.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Would lose all my money and be hurt, you know,
- 12:42Speaker 5: and so like imagine if you if it's just doped
- 12:44Speaker 5: my endurance. So it's just like, you know, so I
- 12:48Speaker 5: always been one of those people like just take risks
- 12:50Speaker 5: and even if I lose, I'm willing to better back. So,
- 12:52Speaker 5: you know, in twenty eighteen, I dropped my book All
- 12:54Speaker 5: Bets on Me, The risk and awards are becoming an
- 12:56Speaker 5: entrepreneur because you know, it's a lot of risks and
- 12:59Speaker 5: a lot of reward that come with it, but I'm
- 13:01Speaker 5: here for it all.
- 13:02Speaker 1: You know, there's another part there too. You said that
- 13:04Speaker 1: I started the business with my mom. Yeah, I know.
- 13:07Speaker 1: You know, mothers and their sons is a unique relationship. Yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 1: So what was that like when you're like your mom,
- 13:14Speaker 1: we tried this then were what was her like perspective
- 13:17Speaker 1: on it, Like, you know, Larry, this is good, it
- 13:19Speaker 1: didn't work. Like, how was she during that process of
- 13:22Speaker 1: you saying we got to shut this down.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Moms was always she always been in the restaurant industry.
- 13:26Speaker 5: I think, you know, Marrows was one of the most
- 13:28Speaker 5: selful ones because of the collaboration. You know, we collaborate
- 13:32Speaker 5: when I was twenty two, but I wasn't in the
- 13:34Speaker 5: best space in my life. She wasn't either, And you know,
- 13:37Speaker 5: when I became twenty seven, we opened up the spot.
- 13:40Speaker 5: My mom like she she's built her brand, she's been catering,
- 13:43Speaker 5: cooking for all her life, and she was in the
- 13:45Speaker 5: more established place in her life. I was in the
- 13:47Speaker 5: more established place in my life. So when she was
- 13:50Speaker 5: able to focus on curating the food and not having
- 13:53Speaker 5: to curate the whole the bring the people run the
- 13:56Speaker 5: front of the house, operations run the back of the house,
- 13:58Speaker 5: and she had, you know, ourself to take something that
- 14:01Speaker 5: weight off, like all right, cool, we don't have to
- 14:02Speaker 5: worry about people coming because they're they're lining up to
- 14:05Speaker 5: get in. Now, let's focus on the food, Let's focus
- 14:08Speaker 5: on the service. Let's focus on the front house. So
- 14:11Speaker 5: it wasn't easy because you know, having a mom in
- 14:13Speaker 5: some business is not an easy thing. So we're just alike.
- 14:16Speaker 5: We were clash and but I'm happy to see what
- 14:19Speaker 5: we've come. But were now like you know, right now,
- 14:22Speaker 5: you know, we open up a new spot Monday last
- 14:25Speaker 5: year and it just made a year and you know,
- 14:27Speaker 5: we might do fifteen hundred, two thousand people yesterday that
- 14:30Speaker 5: come through the restaurants. So it's a blessing to see
- 14:34Speaker 5: how you know, we made that transition, but we figured.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Out you know what, like like the things that can
- 14:38Speaker 4: help make it work.
- 14:39Speaker 3: So let me ask you this. You can learn from
- 14:42Speaker 3: other people's mistakes. You said the first first business, the
- 14:45Speaker 3: restaurant didn't work right, you mentioned reserves. It was really
- 14:49Speaker 3: detailed why it didn't work, what exactly went wrong, and
- 14:54Speaker 3: you said the reserves thing.
- 14:55Speaker 2: That's very key.
- 14:57Speaker 3: How much reserves should a restaurant tour expect to have
- 15:02Speaker 3: in the bank before starting a restaurant.
- 15:04Speaker 5: I wouldn't say it's a certain dollar amount, but a
- 15:06Speaker 5: lot of people going to any business you're going to,
- 15:08Speaker 5: you don't want to just go into it like, you know,
- 15:09Speaker 5: not having no backup, and I can't pay next month's
- 15:12Speaker 5: rent because you can easily lose your business.
- 15:13Speaker 4: So I think what I've.
- 15:15Speaker 5: Learned from that first situation was that, you know, I
- 15:19Speaker 5: need to have a few dollars to be able to
- 15:20Speaker 5: cover a few months with the rent because if you can't,
- 15:24Speaker 5: like like like till and Fatida said this in his book,
- 15:26Speaker 5: and this is one of the largest restaurant tours in
- 15:28Speaker 5: the world. Like you got ups and down moments in
- 15:30Speaker 5: the restaurant industry, maybe one month you can't pay your
- 15:32Speaker 5: rent because you had a bad month, hurry Kane, whatever,
- 15:36Speaker 5: just you know, affects your business. So you can't sustain
- 15:39Speaker 5: yourself through that month, so when the next month come,
- 15:41Speaker 5: you can't pay your rent. So you just got to, like,
- 15:43Speaker 5: you gotta be able to stay yourself because if you
- 15:45Speaker 5: can get through one bad month and have a few
- 15:47Speaker 5: reserves and then the next three months, maybe you know amazing.
- 15:50Speaker 5: So you can save yourself a lot of failure in
- 15:54Speaker 5: this industry by just having a month or two because
- 15:57Speaker 5: sometimes you got to get over that hump. And I
- 15:59Speaker 5: think I was able to get over that hump and
- 16:01Speaker 5: just understand like, all right, cool, I need reserves to
- 16:04Speaker 5: do this.
- 16:04Speaker 4: And it wasn't a lot of money.
- 16:05Speaker 5: It was just knowing I couldn't go up in there
- 16:07Speaker 5: and spend all my money on this one project and
- 16:10Speaker 5: not be able to pay next month's rent if I
- 16:12Speaker 5: got to That's like.
- 16:12Speaker 3: One of the things that most businesses don't consider, especially
- 16:16Speaker 3: Brick and Martar. It's like any type of business, clothing store, salon, anything.
- 16:20Speaker 3: It's like there's ups and downs, like you said, and
- 16:23Speaker 3: there's there's peak seasons, there's dry seasons, different things that
- 16:26Speaker 3: a shit, But your costs usually stay the same, so
- 16:31Speaker 3: your rent's the same, your cables the same, your water
- 16:33Speaker 3: bills the same. So they don't want to hear well,
- 16:36Speaker 3: I had a bad month, right, So it's like you
- 16:38Speaker 3: setting yourself up for failure if you don't have a cushion.
- 16:42Speaker 3: This is why it's good to have business partners as well. Yeah,
- 16:45Speaker 3: sometimes it's like you might not have enough money.
- 16:48Speaker 4: And enlightens a low too.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Exactly, it lightens a low.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Because I used to want a whole pie, but not
- 16:53Speaker 5: just want a piece of it. Why could a whole
- 16:55Speaker 5: pie come with like, you know, all the headache, all
- 16:57Speaker 5: the stress, all the responsibility, and me just being in
- 17:00Speaker 5: a brain and just growing my business. You know, I'm
- 17:02Speaker 5: able to go build and connect and move around the country,
- 17:05Speaker 5: move around the world, go to Africa and connect with
- 17:07Speaker 5: different people, travel to different places, and you know, build
- 17:10Speaker 5: my business at the same time. But if I was
- 17:12Speaker 5: just married to my business, I didn't have no freedom
- 17:15Speaker 5: to go build and do what I do.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I probably wouldn't be sitting at this table.
- 17:18Speaker 1: So when you're creating a restaurant, mom has the expertise
- 17:21Speaker 1: in it. Who's coming up with the menu? Food court?
- 17:25Speaker 1: Because these are things that associate with restaurants that most
- 17:27Speaker 1: people don't go into it. They think like, oh, I
- 17:29Speaker 1: wanted to serve food. They don't understand the business behind it.
- 17:31Speaker 1: So who are you leaning on each other for.
- 17:34Speaker 4: That experience or how did so for transparency?
- 17:36Speaker 5: So like with this industry, like my mom, like I'm
- 17:39Speaker 5: my mom's always been the industry. She's the reason why
- 17:41Speaker 5: I got into the industry. You know, I saw a
- 17:43Speaker 5: little success in it and I got like big guy.
- 17:46Speaker 5: I'm like, yo, like we can do this, And you
- 17:49Speaker 5: know it helped make my mom, you know, just think
- 17:51Speaker 5: a little bigger because you know why I open up
- 17:53Speaker 5: one restaurant and you know, make this if we can
- 17:56Speaker 5: do it, like like my like my theory of till
- 17:58Speaker 5: and Fatita can own who I'm was, the Rockets own
- 18:00Speaker 5: Post Oak owned, Landryes, bubble Gump, you know, a whole
- 18:03Speaker 5: bunch of different spots. If he can own five hundred restaurants,
- 18:07Speaker 5: six hundred restaurants, why can't I? Right, So that's what
- 18:10Speaker 5: I'm thinking. I'm telling my mom. I'm like, like, how
- 18:12Speaker 5: are we gonna do it? How would we do that?
- 18:14Speaker 5: Like Manter, worry about that. I'm gonna figure that out,
- 18:16Speaker 5: so me, that's what I do. I figured things out,
- 18:18Speaker 5: So I'm figured. I started to figure out ways too,
- 18:21Speaker 5: you know, how can we expand but not you know,
- 18:24Speaker 5: break right, So you know, I came up with different
- 18:27Speaker 5: ideas and ways that we can expand it. I would
- 18:29Speaker 5: see all these locations, like I'll walk out here today
- 18:31Speaker 5: and I see something I wanted, I'm gonna go get it.
- 18:34Speaker 4: And that's just what it is. And I don't step
- 18:36Speaker 4: up no for an answer.
- 18:37Speaker 5: So it's like I came up with the you know,
- 18:39Speaker 5: the form like just to get on our food costs
- 18:42Speaker 5: and just I meet with my bookkeepers once a week.
- 18:45Speaker 5: We have meets once a week about our food costs,
- 18:47Speaker 5: about everything, and just understanding like you know, the margins.
- 18:50Speaker 5: Like you know in the restaurant industry, it's fifteen to
- 18:54Speaker 5: twenty percent profit margins. It's not a big margin, right,
- 18:57Speaker 5: but it's like you know, Morrows, I'm thirty percent. Why
- 19:00Speaker 5: because I'm maintaining the food costs, I'm maintaining the labor costs,
- 19:03Speaker 5: I'm maintaining the liquor costs, I'm maintaining you know, the
- 19:06Speaker 5: whole nine. So I think our collaboration was great, but
- 19:11Speaker 5: I dove a little deeper and just kind of showed
- 19:13Speaker 5: my mom and she's like, wow, Like I showed her
- 19:15Speaker 5: a bigger picture of what it could look like. And
- 19:17Speaker 5: now it's like, you know, the goal is not to
- 19:19Speaker 5: have one restaurant. It's not to have two, it's not
- 19:21Speaker 5: to have three, not to have four, it's not to
- 19:23Speaker 5: have ten, to have as many as we can have.
- 19:25Speaker 5: And I think, like I said, Tim and Fatita can
- 19:28Speaker 5: have five hundred, why can I have, you know, six hundred?
- 19:31Speaker 3: So correct me if I'm wrong. But I think another
- 19:34Speaker 3: reason why the other second restaurant was successful. By that time,
- 19:37Speaker 3: you had already developed a real buzz for yourself.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Yeah, right, And so.
- 19:43Speaker 5: I think that's why the first one really because at
- 19:45Speaker 5: twenty eight, twenty seven to twenty eight, like I built
- 19:47Speaker 5: the bigger brand than twenty two. So it helped, you know,
- 19:50Speaker 5: all those relationships Drake coming through everything.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Well it's this is a business lesson for anybody.
- 19:57Speaker 3: It's a lot easier to build a brand on the
- 19:59Speaker 3: shoulders of an other brand as opposed to just starting
- 20:02Speaker 3: from the beginning. That's even one of the things that
- 20:04Speaker 3: we did with Early Leisure. So the original my original plan,
- 20:07Speaker 3: I was a financial advisor. My original plan was to
- 20:10Speaker 3: be a celebrity financial advisor. I didn't really think about
- 20:13Speaker 3: the media space. So it was growing my own personal
- 20:17Speaker 3: social media page and that got to like fifty thousand followers.
- 20:22Speaker 3: But then we see, okay, there's an opportunity to start
- 20:26Speaker 3: earn your lesia. But there was already groundwork that was
- 20:29Speaker 3: done on a social media aspect that had fifty thousand
- 20:31Speaker 3: followers a lot of people fifty thousand. So by the
- 20:33Speaker 3: time we started earning a lesia, now it's me saying,
- 20:37Speaker 3: all right, now we got earnrlesia. So one brand, which
- 20:41Speaker 3: essentially was built, helps build another brand.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a lot easier.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Than just having no followers at all and just saying
- 20:48Speaker 3: earn your lisia is just possibve, Like what does that
- 20:50Speaker 3: even mean?
- 20:51Speaker 5: Everything's feeding each other right now, Like Larry Moore, events
- 20:54Speaker 5: is like the motor, like me being even producer producing
- 20:58Speaker 5: events is like the motor behind it all because I
- 21:00Speaker 5: built all these relationships up for the past ten years. Right,
- 21:03Speaker 5: open up a restaurant. I got Floyd Maywell to come
- 21:06Speaker 5: in town. He come and have lunch with me. I
- 21:08Speaker 5: got Mary J. Blige come in town, she come and
- 21:10Speaker 5: have lunch with me. She loved my mom, she love
- 21:12Speaker 5: her food. Got you know, all these people coming in.
- 21:14Speaker 5: So my brand, Larry Morrow events will help throughout, like
- 21:19Speaker 5: like push Morrows and then you know, Morrow's helped push
- 21:22Speaker 5: Monday trip.
- 21:23Speaker 4: I had Morrows, then I went to Treehouse.
- 21:26Speaker 5: I'm producing all these events and bringing you know, ten
- 21:28Speaker 5: times the amount of people, more people than I when
- 21:31Speaker 5: I was initially because now I got my own venue.
- 21:33Speaker 5: So when they come in town, they come by Morrows,
- 21:35Speaker 5: and now after that opened up Monday, they go by Monday.
- 21:38Speaker 5: So I've created this whole ecosystem and I just like
- 21:41Speaker 5: got a reservation manager. So it's like when people call
- 21:44Speaker 5: and want to book Morrow's and Morrow's.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Book, Hey, we can set you up at you know,
- 21:48Speaker 4: sun Shun.
- 21:49Speaker 5: Now we can set you up at you know, Monday,
- 21:51Speaker 5: and we can we can we can take care of
- 21:53Speaker 5: your whole trip. Were like a concier service now, so
- 21:55Speaker 5: we're controlling our environment.
- 21:57Speaker 1: So one part of of the restaurants business that always
- 22:01Speaker 1: gets overlooked is the hiring process. And you being a
- 22:04Speaker 1: young CEO, young restaurant tour when you're trying to find
- 22:08Speaker 1: the right people to work inside of your establishment. Talk
- 22:11Speaker 1: about that process, right, because they I mean a lot
- 22:13Speaker 1: of times they're not gonna care for it the same
- 22:14Speaker 1: way you do. Right, this is your basing, right, So
- 22:16Speaker 1: how do you keep retention inside of the space.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Well, so in this industry, unfortunate, you always have retention.
- 22:22Speaker 4: This is what it is.
- 22:23Speaker 5: It's a high value business. It's something that's going to
- 22:26Speaker 5: constantly get turned over. But you know, like anything in life,
- 22:28Speaker 5: you're going to find people, good people. Out of every hundred,
- 22:31Speaker 5: you might find one. I would say outside my mother,
- 22:36Speaker 5: you know in j C. Jc's my partner as well,
- 22:40Speaker 5: and I have theory theory. She's the CEO of my company,
- 22:44Speaker 5: chief operation officer, and basically she runs all my establishment.
- 22:48Speaker 5: She started off as an intern, started off working for free,
- 22:51Speaker 5: right around the time I open up my roles.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Working for free.
- 22:54Speaker 5: I didn't know how I was going to do it,
- 22:55Speaker 5: you know, like I wasn't in a position I was
- 22:57Speaker 5: in five years ago, So I didn't know how I
- 23:00Speaker 5: was gonna sustain it and like pay her due, do
- 23:02Speaker 5: all the things I wanted to do.
- 23:03Speaker 2: So she started working for free.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Then when I was able, I was paying one thousand
- 23:06Speaker 5: dollars a month, right now it's like then we started,
- 23:09Speaker 5: you know, we started to grow, and you know, she's
- 23:11Speaker 5: now one of the highest paid people in my company,
- 23:13Speaker 5: making six figures and running the whole operation. And she's committed,
- 23:16Speaker 5: like it's nothing that she wouldn't do.
- 23:19Speaker 4: You know, she really like as I make more money,
- 23:21Speaker 4: she makes more money.
- 23:22Speaker 5: She's like she's been a big help in like a
- 23:26Speaker 5: driving force and helping make this coming successful. Outside my mother,
- 23:30Speaker 5: myself and JC so shout out to her because you know,
- 23:35Speaker 5: I realized you can't you know, you can't do it alone.
- 23:37Speaker 5: You got to have a team. You gotta have a
- 23:39Speaker 5: solid foundation. And honestly, I'm only able to dream as
- 23:42Speaker 5: big as I dreaming right now because of what I
- 23:45Speaker 5: have around Me and Troy.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Were at a summit a few weeks ago in the
- 23:50Speaker 3: Hamptons and learned something that was very insightful.
- 23:54Speaker 2: So they were saying that Netflix Netflix right.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Netflix has an online an infest though that everybody should read,
- 24:02Speaker 3: and it like outlines their company structure, and they were
- 24:05Speaker 3: saying that they pay the most out of any streaming company.
- 24:08Speaker 3: They pay their employees the most, and the reason being is, like,
- 24:12Speaker 3: the theory is that one good employee is actually worth
- 24:17Speaker 3: two people. So I'd rather pay you more than what
- 24:21Speaker 3: other people will pay you because I'm actually saving money.
- 24:24Speaker 3: And if you, if you're an employer, you know how
- 24:29Speaker 3: dangerous one bad employee can be and how valuable wan
- 24:33Speaker 3: like one and good like they say one good a
- 24:36Speaker 3: few good men. One good employee can really change the
- 24:40Speaker 3: direction of your whole entire company. So that's extremely important
- 24:43Speaker 3: to always look at employees as an investment. Sometimes it's like,
- 24:48Speaker 3: and especially when you start, it can be kind of scary.
- 24:50Speaker 3: It's like, I don't even have enough money to you know,
- 24:52Speaker 3: really fund the business properly, Like how am I going
- 24:55Speaker 3: to pay somebody? But sometimes you have to take the
- 24:58Speaker 3: leaf of faith because that one employee, if you're paying
- 25:01Speaker 3: them fifty thousand or whatever, they could potentially bring in
- 25:04Speaker 3: three hundred and fifty thousand for you. So, but I
- 25:07Speaker 3: wanted to ask you a question in regards to what
- 25:10Speaker 3: you have mentioned the hospitality, So what's your part for
- 25:13Speaker 3: how many restaurants you currently have right now?
- 25:16Speaker 5: So currently I have Morrows, I have Monday, I have
- 25:19Speaker 5: sun Shun in the French Quarter. I have a Morrow's
- 25:22Speaker 5: State that's opening up in like two months. Downtown New
- 25:25Speaker 5: Orleans and I have a spot called Spicy Mango that's
- 25:28Speaker 5: opening up on Frenchman Street.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Andreo is a club, Yes, a club.
- 25:32Speaker 4: So five restaurants, one.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Club, five restaurants, one club. Yeah, so very impressive, by
- 25:37Speaker 3: the way, congrats Because they're all different type of.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Restaurants are different type. That's the hardest thing to do.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Talk about that.
- 25:45Speaker 5: Well, So I'm creating different concepts and like you know,
- 25:48Speaker 5: of course that's the formula to to disaster essentially, because
- 25:52Speaker 5: now you're trying to recreate a whole new situation. Like
- 25:54Speaker 5: we're using the same blueprint for everything. We're doing same system,
- 25:57Speaker 5: same everything, right, but you know, me creating different concepts,
- 26:02Speaker 5: it's like I got to hire new selves. I gotta
- 26:04Speaker 5: find new people to come help create this vision. So
- 26:09Speaker 5: so that's tough, and you know, that's just the route
- 26:11Speaker 5: I'm going right now. But my ultimate goal, like you know,
- 26:14Speaker 5: right now, we're working on morrowsh Houston for twenty twenty four,
- 26:19Speaker 5: and it'll be easier to go create a new Morrols
- 26:21Speaker 5: versus create these new concepts. Because I got staff, I
- 26:24Speaker 5: can move to Houston and you know, run it, you know,
- 26:28Speaker 5: and who who know who know the system versus you know,
- 26:30Speaker 5: going to create a new concept, new menu, new shells
- 26:33Speaker 5: and everything. But I'm learning that, you know what, Like
- 26:36Speaker 5: we were just talking about like retention and just paying
- 26:38Speaker 5: people more, you know, like you got to pay for
- 26:39Speaker 5: good help. And that's what I've been doing. So we're
- 26:42Speaker 5: not trying to get you know, at one point, like
- 26:44Speaker 5: you know, I was a little cheaper and was like, yo,
- 26:47Speaker 5: I can't afford to pay that, but I want to
- 26:50Speaker 5: pay that.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I want to.
- 26:51Speaker 4: I want to pay for good help.
- 26:52Speaker 5: I want to pay for good people because that's the
- 26:53Speaker 5: only way I'm gonna be able to you know, have
- 26:57Speaker 5: like be able to sleep at night and have any
- 26:58Speaker 5: type of freedom.
- 26:59Speaker 4: This one.
- 27:00Speaker 5: I have good people because if you don't have good people,
- 27:02Speaker 5: I gotta you know, watch over everything they're doing. So
- 27:05Speaker 5: you know, I'm building my foundation and whoever's part of that. Course,
- 27:07Speaker 5: like when I grow, we grow, I mean, when the
- 27:09Speaker 5: company grows, we all grow. It's not you're not You're
- 27:11Speaker 5: not limited, so we driving maybacks and Ferrari's like, you know,
- 27:14Speaker 5: the goal is to get you know, of we living
- 27:16Speaker 5: in houses. I want everybody to have the comfort of
- 27:20Speaker 5: in this industry is not known to like people like,
- 27:22Speaker 5: are you crazy, Like why are you doing so much?
- 27:24Speaker 5: You want to be stressed out? I'm not stressed, you know,
- 27:27Speaker 5: I want everybody to have the quality of life. And
- 27:29Speaker 5: in this industry, not everybody has the quality of life
- 27:31Speaker 5: because of the.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Hours to take.
- 27:33Speaker 5: And you know, the average manager in the restaurant industry
- 27:36Speaker 5: working sixty seventy hours.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Right, that's a lot of hours.
- 27:39Speaker 5: So if you got a family, kids, and you know,
- 27:42Speaker 5: a personal life, like, how can you maintain your personal life?
- 27:45Speaker 5: So I'm like, you know what, We're going to build
- 27:46Speaker 5: our company on making sure everybody can have the quality
- 27:48Speaker 5: of life, not just the CEO, the people you know
- 27:51Speaker 5: at the top, know everybody. So right now it's a
- 27:54Speaker 5: lot tough for everybody's playing more roles. But you know,
- 27:56Speaker 5: right now we're all working together so that we can
- 27:58Speaker 5: all make sure that everybody can and you know, be
- 28:00Speaker 5: a part of this company, have freedom and make a
- 28:03Speaker 5: good living and be happy.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean it's crazy because when Shotty was we
- 28:07Speaker 1: talked about that next situation. The next thing. We looked
- 28:10Speaker 1: at each other and said, wait, one good employees worth two,
- 28:13Speaker 1: but in our community, like one is worth like five
- 28:15Speaker 1: because they're doing so many multiple Roles. I want to
- 28:18Speaker 1: talk about the the position that you're in from leasing
- 28:23Speaker 1: these locations to ownership, right, because on top of it
- 28:26Speaker 1: being a location, it's also a real estate play, right,
- 28:29Speaker 1: So I talk about the strategy behind that.
- 28:32Speaker 5: So I don't own every location I have. I'm also
- 28:36Speaker 5: I'm in the process of buying some of them, some
- 28:38Speaker 5: of them leasing. But I think it just depends on
- 28:41Speaker 5: the location the lease.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Uh.
- 28:43Speaker 5: You know Tim and Fatita, you know, one of the
- 28:45Speaker 5: largest restaurant tours in the world. He says, Okay, the least,
- 28:48Speaker 5: you know, like like some buildings you just got to lease,
- 28:50Speaker 5: you know, because it's not worth what the you know,
- 28:54Speaker 5: it's not worth to buy it, you know. So Catch Hospitality,
- 28:58Speaker 5: you know, I've been since seen some of this space,
- 29:00Speaker 5: you know, like the amount of money they're paying. At
- 29:03Speaker 5: least you'd be like, what the hell, Like I never
- 29:05Speaker 5: knew at least could be designed. Yeah, they told me, Like,
- 29:08Speaker 5: you know, I was out there regional Catch Hospitality in
- 29:10Speaker 5: New York.
- 29:10Speaker 4: I spent five.
- 29:11Speaker 5: Days out there and they opened balcomed me with open arms,
- 29:14Speaker 5: created a whole agenda just to walk me through the process,
- 29:16Speaker 5: to show me a young aspiring restaurant tour.
- 29:20Speaker 1: You knowe my kids.
- 29:23Speaker 4: That is to Eugene shout, they are probably there right now.
- 29:26Speaker 2: He catches La La. What'd you learn from Catch?
- 29:31Speaker 4: Oh? So quick? Story quick started.
- 29:33Speaker 5: I was in La been to Catch twenty seventeen, went
- 29:35Speaker 5: with a friend, and I was saying, like, I want
- 29:38Speaker 5: I want morrows to be to catch the south right.
- 29:40Speaker 4: This is when I was about to open Tomorrows right
- 29:42Speaker 4: fast forward, you know.
- 29:44Speaker 5: But six years later, you know, I'm sitting down and
- 29:46Speaker 5: meetings with Eugene and his team. You know, they recently
- 29:49Speaker 5: sold their company for one hundred million dollars and you know,
- 29:52Speaker 5: just being able to see that.
- 29:54Speaker 4: But I've learned so much.
- 29:55Speaker 5: I've learned just even like how leadership just being just
- 29:58Speaker 5: like watching them operate leadership, and how to control just
- 30:02Speaker 5: your percentages, and just how starting to shift off for
- 30:05Speaker 5: the pre shift. Something as simple as a precift can
- 30:08Speaker 5: help save a lot of problems throughout the day, you know,
- 30:12Speaker 5: doing cups up before the shift starts. What's apprecif appreciate
- 30:16Speaker 5: if is just like a meeting before the shift, right,
- 30:18Speaker 5: a meeting that basically sets the tone.
- 30:21Speaker 1: For the day, saying that's like when everybody gets in
- 30:23Speaker 1: the huddle.
- 30:23Speaker 4: Man, no listen, listen.
- 30:24Speaker 5: I came back like, I was like, Yo, no sitting
- 30:28Speaker 5: down pre shift, Let's huddle up.
- 30:30Speaker 4: It's almost like you about to call a play. Let's
- 30:32Speaker 4: huddle up and let's have a quick meeting, right.
- 30:34Speaker 5: And it was so impactful that one of my services
- 30:37Speaker 5: DM me she was like, oh my gosh, appreciate was
- 30:39Speaker 5: so amazing.
- 30:40Speaker 4: It really motivated me and it inspired the staff and
- 30:44Speaker 4: helped us have a better day.
- 30:45Speaker 5: But one thing I preached in my staff is like,
- 30:47Speaker 5: you know, like I don't want nobody to be with
- 30:49Speaker 5: me being an employee of mind forever. If there's a
- 30:51Speaker 5: way I can help or knowledge, I can, you know,
- 30:53Speaker 5: pass down because a lot of people are like you know,
- 30:56Speaker 5: my age and people who are from New Orleans, part
- 30:59Speaker 5: of the community, and got a lot of questions and
- 31:01Speaker 5: I'm here to answer those questions. But I think you know,
- 31:05Speaker 5: one of my young man that works for me, he
- 31:07Speaker 5: was like, Yo, how can I learn from you?
- 31:11Speaker 4: And my words? My response was I said stay.
- 31:13Speaker 5: Close because because I invite you know, all them like
- 31:18Speaker 5: they they work at the spot, but then they come
- 31:21Speaker 5: to Treehouse, they're free bottles whatever they want. Like I
- 31:23Speaker 5: make sure my staff have a good time if they
- 31:24Speaker 5: want to go out whatever, But like you know, stay close.
- 31:27Speaker 5: I'm available, Like you know, I'm honestly too available at
- 31:30Speaker 5: times because I'm in every group message, I'm in every conversation,
- 31:34Speaker 5: you know when I don't have to be. But I'm
- 31:35Speaker 5: a part of, you know, everything that's going on because
- 31:38Speaker 5: I care about it, and you know, I wouldn't be
- 31:40Speaker 5: able to build what I'm building without people who believe
- 31:43Speaker 5: in me. And just even you know, whether it's a
- 31:44Speaker 5: server busser chef, you know, Ed shout out to Ed.
- 31:48Speaker 5: You know, it's been with us since day won. One
- 31:50Speaker 5: of our executive chef said, Moros. You know, he's been
- 31:53Speaker 5: a big help and them believing in me and me
- 31:56Speaker 5: believing in them has helped this.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Just what's the cups up? You said? The cups cups?
- 32:00Speaker 5: So it's like basically like when I went out there,
- 32:02Speaker 5: there was trying every dish before they open right, because
- 32:06Speaker 5: you can identify what's just off right and it's something
- 32:08Speaker 5: as simple as that. So all right, cool, we need
- 32:10Speaker 5: to cups up twenty minutes before the doors open up.
- 32:12Speaker 5: Whatever it's not right either eighty six it meaning get
- 32:14Speaker 5: rid of it.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Or you know it, fix it like it tastes testing.
- 32:19Speaker 5: It tastes testing, right, So just something as simple as
- 32:21Speaker 5: that would just help change what your day look like
- 32:23Speaker 5: because you're gonna save on food costs, things getting sent back.
- 32:27Speaker 5: You're gonna save in a bunch of different ways. And
- 32:29Speaker 5: like I said, it's low profit margins, you know, like
- 32:31Speaker 5: the restaurant industry can't afford mistakes, right, but you can
- 32:34Speaker 5: if you manage it properly. But the restaurant industry is
- 32:37Speaker 5: one of those things that it can make you successful
- 32:39Speaker 5: if you utilize it properly. Cash flow, it can help
- 32:42Speaker 5: you go acquire real estate, it can help you acquire things.
- 32:45Speaker 4: You know, help with my p and ls.
- 32:47Speaker 5: At the end of the year, Like the bank look
- 32:48Speaker 5: at my p and ls and they see how much
- 32:50Speaker 5: cast flaw I got, and it's like it makes it
- 32:52Speaker 5: easier when I go acquire, when I go acquire what
- 32:54Speaker 5: a house, whatever, real estate.
- 32:56Speaker 4: It's just helped.
- 32:56Speaker 5: So that's how a lot of restaurant tours and people
- 32:58Speaker 5: in this industry are.
- 32:59Speaker 4: Anybody with cash flow.
- 33:00Speaker 5: If you got cash flow and you stand on top
- 33:03Speaker 5: of your p and ls and you can show you
- 33:04Speaker 5: know you could, you can show you know the bank,
- 33:06Speaker 5: your numbers. It's like it help you to go acquire things,
- 33:10Speaker 5: you know. So that's another thing I use it for
- 33:13Speaker 5: because it's like it's helping build make me a stronger
- 33:17Speaker 5: person company, to just have a nice cash flow and
- 33:22Speaker 5: be able to look at things differently.
- 33:24Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, the P and l's is important. Man,
- 33:26Speaker 1: I'm thinking now, like when you're doing these real estate transactions,
- 33:30Speaker 1: the importance of credit inside of this, right when you're
- 33:32Speaker 1: going to get your lead, so you're trying to get
- 33:34Speaker 1: a new deal. So about that, because that that's something
- 33:36Speaker 1: that people are not looking at. Like when we talk credit,
- 33:38Speaker 1: most people think, oh I got to get a home
- 33:41Speaker 1: or I got to get a car. But you're creating
- 33:43Speaker 1: and businesses and almost like a hospitality situation where credit
- 33:47Speaker 1: is almost equally as important inside that and the effects
- 33:50Speaker 1: of it.
- 33:50Speaker 4: When you say credit to my credit lines, credit credit lines.
- 33:53Speaker 1: If you're going to get loan from the bank, if
- 33:55Speaker 1: you if you're trying to do a real estate deal,
- 33:57Speaker 1: how how does that work inside the real estate Well?
- 34:00Speaker 4: Now worked it works.
- 34:01Speaker 5: It works like you know, I mean to acquire anything,
- 34:04Speaker 5: you got to have, you know, you gotta have you know,
- 34:06Speaker 5: p and ls and credit.
- 34:07Speaker 4: You gotta have just like just credentials, you know. I mean,
- 34:10Speaker 4: so it allowed me. Like before.
- 34:12Speaker 5: I remember when I brought my first piece of property
- 34:14Speaker 5: and uh twenty five, I actually I sold my watch.
- 34:17Speaker 5: I had got this rolex. It was a bus down.
- 34:22Speaker 5: I ain't know nothing about no rolex, but I made
- 34:23Speaker 5: a lot of money for it. I'm gonna need that cash.
- 34:27Speaker 4: I thought I thought it was a.
- 34:28Speaker 5: Rapper back back when I was hanging with fab I ever,
- 34:32Speaker 5: I thought I was a rapper. So but you know,
- 34:34Speaker 5: when I realized I wasn't. I'm an entrepreneur, you know
- 34:37Speaker 5: what I mean. That's when everything started to change because
- 34:39Speaker 5: I was like living in my purpose, you know. And
- 34:41Speaker 5: I sold that watch. Had a friend of mine, I
- 34:44Speaker 5: won't see his name.
- 34:46Speaker 2: He bought the.
- 34:46Speaker 4: Watch for the same price I bought it, so I
- 34:48Speaker 4: got to shine with it for two years.
- 34:50Speaker 5: Sold it and I bought my first house thirty nine
- 34:53Speaker 5: thousand dollars cash to die Spencer.
- 34:56Speaker 4: I couldn't. I couldn't go to the bank.
- 34:57Speaker 5: I wasn't bankable, right, And I tell my staff, I'm like, yo,
- 35:01Speaker 5: look y'all want to keep your cash. Y'all need to
- 35:03Speaker 5: go deposit and show the government what you're making, pay
- 35:06Speaker 5: taxes on it, so that you can go acquire things
- 35:08Speaker 5: people think that you like, Like if you're in the
- 35:10Speaker 5: service industry, the thing is, I want my cash tips.
- 35:13Speaker 5: That's not going to help you buy house. It's not
- 35:15Speaker 5: going to help you buy a car. No, you need
- 35:17Speaker 5: to go depositive, show what you're making. Pay your taxes.
- 35:20Speaker 5: Now when you go to the bank, you got paperwork,
- 35:22Speaker 5: you know what I mean. And I didn't realize that.
- 35:24Speaker 5: And that's why I try to like these things that
- 35:25Speaker 5: I'm telling my staff, like I want I want them
- 35:27Speaker 5: to be knowledgeable.
- 35:28Speaker 4: Like it's not like, how do you get to the
- 35:30Speaker 4: next level? You got to pay the play.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm glad. I'm glad you just said that, because
- 35:34Speaker 1: I'm thinking about people who get the tips and it's like,
- 35:36Speaker 1: I'm just put this under the mattress. Right, But you
- 35:38Speaker 1: do that long enough, then you can't show She laughed
- 35:40Speaker 1: that she put us under the mattress. He do too,
- 35:44Speaker 1: But right, if you don't put that in the bank,
- 35:46Speaker 1: then it's like when I'm trying to get a loan, world,
- 35:48Speaker 1: what's your income? You know what I'm saying.
- 35:50Speaker 5: So it becomes I think when you're not in the
- 35:52Speaker 5: financial position to go do what you want to do.
- 35:55Speaker 4: You need to show as much as you can.
- 35:57Speaker 5: But when you get in the financial position to do
- 35:59Speaker 5: what you need to do, such as like you know,
- 36:01Speaker 5: very successful people, they're trying to hide money, trying to
- 36:04Speaker 5: you know, buy buildings and different things for tax purposes
- 36:07Speaker 5: to not pay as much. So I think, you know,
- 36:09Speaker 5: it's different games. You got to play at different points
- 36:11Speaker 5: in your life. So if you're starting off and you're
- 36:13Speaker 5: trying to grow, you need to be showing what you're making.
- 36:15Speaker 4: You be paying your taxes. And it hurts because.
- 36:17Speaker 5: Honestly, I paid a large amount of money the other
- 36:18Speaker 5: day just getting caught up on things, you know, like
- 36:21Speaker 5: getting like my business took off so fast when I
- 36:24Speaker 5: was you know, just started producing events. I'm making money
- 36:27Speaker 5: producing events. I'm not paying no taxes. I'm not what
- 36:29Speaker 5: is the tax?
- 36:30Speaker 4: Like, what is that?
- 36:30Speaker 5: What is it?
- 36:32Speaker 1: What is it?
- 36:33Speaker 2: I'm so I'm two turned right, but I think about it.
- 36:40Speaker 4: But the average person, the average person, I thinking about taxes.
- 36:44Speaker 5: But so when I realized I couldn't buy that property
- 36:47Speaker 5: through the bank, I had to pay cast craziest thing
- 36:49Speaker 5: I ever did because it slowed my process down. I
- 36:52Speaker 5: paid thirty nine thousand, and I had to put like
- 36:53Speaker 5: one hundred thousand dollars into renovation all my money, had
- 36:56Speaker 5: no money available, slowed me down. Had to sell this
- 36:59Speaker 5: home and I was so eager to sell it because
- 37:01Speaker 5: I had no money, so I took a cut on it,
- 37:03Speaker 5: and it just threw it off, threw me off track.
- 37:05Speaker 5: And shout out to dis Spencer because she's the reason
- 37:07Speaker 5: why I bought my first piece of property, because he
- 37:09Speaker 5: saw I wanted to get the industry. He's a guy
- 37:12Speaker 5: in New Orleans, guru in this industry and one of
- 37:17Speaker 5: my friends and partner.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Now, JC h was a financial advisor. He worked at
- 37:22Speaker 4: the bank.
- 37:23Speaker 5: He told me, he said, why would you pay cash
- 37:26Speaker 5: for when you could have took that same one hundred
- 37:28Speaker 5: thousand dollars put down twenty percent deposit and buy five
- 37:31Speaker 5: piece of properties not even five times of money.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Oh and he spoke to me and spoke to my soul.
- 37:36Speaker 5: And listen, like, getting all this advice is what changed?
- 37:40Speaker 4: Like me, you know, like I go to the bank.
- 37:42Speaker 2: You know, I just sold.
- 37:43Speaker 5: Two homes, Like like I sold one two weeks ago
- 37:45Speaker 5: and I saw another one the following week, and I
- 37:47Speaker 5: used the bank's money, other people's.
- 37:48Speaker 4: Money, other people's money, and I didn't understand that at first.
- 37:50Speaker 5: But you know, like I sold like a house uptown
- 37:53Speaker 5: for Awful magazine. You know, that's like, you know, that's
- 37:56Speaker 5: that's heavy, heavy, and I showed another one, you know,
- 38:00Speaker 5: so it's like, you know, it's a great week. But
- 38:02Speaker 5: like I didn't have to you know, put down you know,
- 38:06Speaker 5: paid outcast. You know, like I used the bank for
- 38:08Speaker 5: it and it allowed me to do more.
- 38:11Speaker 2: So let me ask you this.
- 38:12Speaker 3: You said something about a concier service, like if people
- 38:15Speaker 3: want to get a reservation, then they might not be
- 38:17Speaker 3: able to get a reservation on one place they can
- 38:19Speaker 3: get it.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Talk about that, Well, I didn't.
- 38:21Speaker 4: I wasn't.
- 38:22Speaker 5: I just thought about like that, we're creating the all concieers.
- 38:24Speaker 5: But it's more so like you know, we're hiring different positions.
- 38:28Speaker 5: We're hiring like, you know, I got a guy coming
- 38:31Speaker 5: on from one of these big top like top restaurants,
- 38:33Speaker 5: you know, like steakhouses and been in the game for
- 38:35Speaker 5: twenty years and earners.
- 38:37Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 38:38Speaker 1: Listen, eylu is relaunching, revamping, retooling. That's why we're creating
- 38:43Speaker 1: a new educational experience that's more expensive telling what we.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Got, Yes twenty twenty three, we got a lot. It's
- 38:50Speaker 3: still a lot playing for you guys. So you know
- 38:52Speaker 3: that EYLU already includes monthly financial planning calls with Me,
- 38:56Speaker 3: book club calls with Troy, real estate calls with MG
- 38:59Speaker 3: the mortgae got access to the Home Buying Blueprint Volume
- 39:03Speaker 3: one and Volume two. Part of the revamp will include
- 39:06Speaker 3: twenty seven local chapters from across the United States, live

- 40:42Speaker 1: P and C Bank. A lot of people think podcasts
- 40:45Speaker 1: about work are boring, and sure, they definitely can be,
- 40:49Speaker 1: but understanding a professional's routine shows us how they achieve
- 40:52Speaker 1: their success little by little, day after day. It's like
- 40:57Speaker 1: banking with P and C Bank. It might seem boring
- 40:59Speaker 1: this plan and make calculated decisions with your bank, but
- 41:03Speaker 1: keeping your money boring is what helps you live or
- 41:05Speaker 1: more happily fulfilled life. P and C Bank brilliantly boring
- 41:10Speaker 1: since eighteen sixty five. Brilliantly Boring since eighteen sixty five
- 41:14Speaker 1: is a service mark of the PNC Financial Service Group, Inc.
- 41:18Speaker 1: P and C Bank National Association Member FDIC.
- 41:23Speaker 7: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 41:27Speaker 7: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 41:31Speaker 7: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 41:35Speaker 7: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 41:39Speaker 7: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 41:43Speaker 7: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States
- 41:46Speaker 7: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 41:51Speaker 7: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 41:55Speaker 7: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 41:58Speaker 7: were here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
- 42:02Speaker 7: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you will
- 42:06Speaker 7: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 42:10Speaker 7: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 42:13Speaker 7: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 42:18Speaker 7: border and families will be protected.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 42:24Speaker 5: I think it's just like you know, identifying the positions
- 42:26Speaker 5: you need, and we decide we realized we needed like
- 42:28Speaker 5: our own reservation manager because we get like hundreds of
- 42:32Speaker 5: calls a day, right, and so we just need to
- 42:34Speaker 5: be able to manage it properly.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Cauld.
- 42:35Speaker 5: We missing a lot of leads, people calling for parties.
- 42:37Speaker 5: You know, we're missing a lot of money. So now
- 42:39Speaker 5: it's like we're going to probably see an increase of
- 42:41Speaker 5: ten to twenty percent, which matters by just you know,
- 42:44Speaker 5: incorporating the system, even though we're hiring new management position
- 42:48Speaker 5: is going to help us make more money.
- 42:50Speaker 4: You know.
- 42:50Speaker 1: So I want I want to talk about women. You know,
- 42:54Speaker 1: you raised about women, grew up around women. Her COO
- 42:57Speaker 1: as a woman partner with mom, obviously a woman, Sue
- 43:00Speaker 1: Chung Sun Chum Sun Chung grandma name named after Grandma woman.
- 43:05Speaker 1: We saw the ribbon cutting, it was an emotional moment
- 43:07Speaker 1: for you, saw some tears. Talk about the importance of
- 43:12Speaker 1: and the role that women have played in the development
- 43:15Speaker 1: of the Marral brand.
- 43:17Speaker 5: Man, It's like somebody told me that the day they say,
- 43:18Speaker 5: well you're smart, the all women run, all women.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Working with That's the first thing I thought, and real talk.
- 43:23Speaker 5: Like my staff, everybody's woman, my mom, my grandmother, my sister,
- 43:27Speaker 5: my you know, like Theoria Macy, you know, my grandmother,
- 43:32Speaker 5: just just everybody around me, you know, who play a
- 43:34Speaker 5: role a woman. And you know I was raising the
- 43:38Speaker 5: you know a mom, single parent household. My mom she
- 43:41Speaker 5: was you know, my father figure. You know my father
- 43:43Speaker 5: wasn't there. She played an important role in my life
- 43:46Speaker 5: and just helped me, you know, like you know, just
- 43:49Speaker 5: helped me, you know, navigate through life. And I'm blessed
- 43:52Speaker 5: to like, you know, just not have had a short
- 43:53Speaker 5: leash on me because I was able to go out
- 43:55Speaker 5: and you know, become a man and learn from trial
- 43:58Speaker 5: and error just in in my ecosystem as a kid
- 44:01Speaker 5: and so a mom. Man, I'm just so blessing, like
- 44:05Speaker 5: just like now having my own family and you know,
- 44:07Speaker 5: my fiance, he plays an important role in just making sure,
- 44:11Speaker 5: like our foundational houses a home, which gives me, you know,
- 44:14Speaker 5: the comfort to go out and do what I do,
- 44:16Speaker 5: you know, to make sure my child is you know,
- 44:20Speaker 5: well taken care of, and just you know, just being
- 44:22Speaker 5: able to go do what I do, cause you know,
- 44:23Speaker 5: it's not easy to balance you know, this work in
- 44:26Speaker 5: personal life and family life, and like it's crazy. My
- 44:28Speaker 5: neighbor texts me, he said, yesterday morning, he knows Essence
- 44:31Speaker 5: weekend and he was like, yo, man, I don't know
- 44:33Speaker 5: how you do it because like like you're gonna see
- 44:36Speaker 5: like I'm always you know, I'm always doing it. If
- 44:38Speaker 5: I go experience something without my family, I'm gonna come
- 44:41Speaker 5: back and experience it twice.
- 44:42Speaker 4: It's more twice more with my family.
- 44:43Speaker 5: So like I told, like I had to go to
- 44:45Speaker 5: Africa for a business trip and I told I told him, like, yo,
- 44:48Speaker 5: we want to come back, be going to experience this
- 44:49Speaker 5: twice more, like we're gonna come here twice.
- 44:51Speaker 4: Whatever.
- 44:52Speaker 5: But you know, it's like understanding that balance because you know,
- 44:55Speaker 5: without that, I wouldn't be able to do this, you know,
- 44:57Speaker 5: so I make sure that, you know, I nurture all
- 44:59Speaker 5: the components around me and just even not just my home,
- 45:03Speaker 5: but my mother, my my team, Theora Macy, like they
- 45:07Speaker 5: play big roles. So it's just you know, I'm blessed
- 45:11Speaker 5: to have a strong group of women around me. And
- 45:13Speaker 5: I didn't really realize it that I had, you know,
- 45:15Speaker 5: so many women working for me. But that's really running
- 45:18Speaker 5: my company, like really running this company to help it
- 45:20Speaker 5: become successful.
- 45:22Speaker 3: The Tree of Life painting, let's talk about that. What
- 45:28Speaker 3: is the significance of that? And there's a story with
- 45:32Speaker 3: Sean Carter.
- 45:33Speaker 1: God we might know.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Is involved in the.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Yard of Him.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Jay Z, what's the story Will Man?
- 45:45Speaker 5: So basically, so when Trehouse opened up, who wanted to
- 45:47Speaker 5: create this painting? So with morrows, you know morrows, like
- 45:50Speaker 5: people would line up. I would sit in front of
- 45:52Speaker 5: Morrows in my car and wise people get dressed up,
- 45:55Speaker 5: come take a picture in front of sign. When we
- 45:59Speaker 5: when we got that sign, I had the option to
- 46:01Speaker 5: get this little wood sign or pay more and get
- 46:03Speaker 5: this aluminum illuminated sign. I'm like, I want the wood one.
- 46:06Speaker 5: I want the one that you know people could take
- 46:08Speaker 5: pictures in front of little did I know that I
- 46:10Speaker 5: would set myself up to create a photo drop. Everybody
- 46:14Speaker 5: would take pictures in front of every celebrity you could
- 46:16Speaker 5: think that will come and take these pictures.
- 46:18Speaker 4: And so.
- 46:20Speaker 5: It was a big hit and it helped, you know,
- 46:23Speaker 5: you know, like circulate around social media. So I'm like,
- 46:25Speaker 5: you know what, when we go in the treehouse, I
- 46:26Speaker 5: want a photo drop. I want somewhere for people to
- 46:28Speaker 5: take pictures so we created that at Treehouse. And the
- 46:33Speaker 5: way it came about there was a friend of mine,
- 46:36Speaker 5: Kendel Fran genius when it comes to you know, art
- 46:38Speaker 5: and just with what he does, he's a dope person.
- 46:41Speaker 4: He was like. He came looked at it and he
- 46:44Speaker 4: was like yo, Like I'm like, yo, look I want this.
- 46:47Speaker 4: I want to paint here. I don't know what I
- 46:48Speaker 4: wanted to be.
- 46:48Speaker 5: So we just started pondering on our ideas and we
- 46:50Speaker 5: was like, like, I want a picture at jay Z.
- 46:52Speaker 4: But that also come from Theoria.
- 46:54Speaker 5: She also mentioned something about like, you know, putting somebody
- 46:57Speaker 5: like it was gonna do. Wayne was think about different
- 46:59Speaker 5: people to put but we came up with an idea
- 47:01Speaker 5: of like, you know, jay Z and turning his head
- 47:04Speaker 5: into like a tree or something right, and it was ideal.
- 47:06Speaker 5: We didn't really know it was gonna look the way
- 47:07Speaker 5: it looked, so like I got the perfect person for this.
- 47:10Speaker 4: So he called Jerrn.
- 47:13Speaker 5: And Gerrn came over, a dope artist, local cool dude,
- 47:17Speaker 5: and we started to develop this idea. And so we
- 47:20Speaker 5: all came up with this idea and then I told
- 47:22Speaker 5: him like, yo, look like we're gonna take a picture
- 47:24Speaker 5: in front of this, all right, both didn't take a
- 47:26Speaker 5: picture in front of it. But after you know, we
- 47:28Speaker 5: got the painting up went viral. He got fab and
- 47:31Speaker 5: taking pictures in front of it. Everybody who come to
- 47:33Speaker 5: the treehouse taking pictures in front of it, and a
- 47:35Speaker 5: few friends sent it over to Emory's j and everybody
- 47:38Speaker 5: and Jay.
- 47:39Speaker 4: Wanted to buy it.
- 47:40Speaker 5: And so he wanted to buy it to put it
- 47:42Speaker 5: in a rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and uh
- 47:44Speaker 5: so he pursed the painting and he put in a
- 47:46Speaker 5: rock and roll Hall of Fame. And I went to Uh,
- 47:48Speaker 5: I was in Cleveland for All Star weekend, and I
- 47:50Speaker 5: went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and
- 47:52Speaker 5: I saw this photo and had my name onside in
- 47:54Speaker 5: the treehouse and uh, you know jerring Bee's and it
- 47:56Speaker 5: was dope, you know, because you know, it's like, you know,
- 47:59Speaker 5: what's happened in my life. I've been projecting a lot
- 48:01Speaker 5: of things into the universe, and it's like it happens
- 48:03Speaker 5: because of you know, just like just just knowing it will,
- 48:07Speaker 5: you know, and and praying and just like being thankful
- 48:10Speaker 5: for the opportunity and just everything that's going on. So
- 48:13Speaker 5: when whole like when I got to call like hold
- 48:15Speaker 5: one to buy them, Like no, that's dope. And honestly,
- 48:17Speaker 5: I didn't want to let the painting go, but it's
- 48:19Speaker 5: it was bigger than me, you know, it was big.
- 48:21Speaker 5: I would have felt like a sucker not, you know,
- 48:23Speaker 5: letting that painton fly because you know it's gonna help
- 48:26Speaker 5: you know, an artist from New Orleans and you open
- 48:29Speaker 5: up more doors for just all of us, you know.
- 48:31Speaker 2: So did you speak to him directly or just somebody from.
- 48:34Speaker 4: No, no, No, I spoke to this team. They reached
- 48:36Speaker 4: out and we was going it was negotiating for like two.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Months about the prices.
- 48:39Speaker 4: Yeah, jay Z, yeah I need.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Did they ever pull up? I feel like I've seen
- 48:45Speaker 1: the pictures was maybe it was Salon just toalant. Did
- 48:48Speaker 1: anybody from the team pull up to the treeols prior
- 48:50Speaker 1: to leaving the painting leaving?
- 48:53Speaker 5: No, But it was like a big rollout, like it
- 48:54Speaker 5: came video the whole thing. Because this was like because
- 48:57Speaker 5: the paint was so big that like you couldn't just
- 49:00Speaker 5: ship it, like they had to drive it to Cleveland.
- 49:03Speaker 5: They had to come. Like so they came in. It's
- 49:04Speaker 5: almost like who's in the funeral home?
- 49:06Speaker 4: Like they came with big.
- 49:07Speaker 5: Old boxes ship put it on and like just like
- 49:10Speaker 5: wrapped everything up hundred times and just to ensure that
- 49:14Speaker 5: it was safe. And it was like a whole production,
- 49:17Speaker 5: and they recorded the whole whole thing shipped to Cleveland
- 49:21Speaker 5: and they put it in his frame.
- 49:23Speaker 1: And you thought you was gonna be a rapper, right,
- 49:26Speaker 1: that didn't work, but you still ended up in the
- 49:27Speaker 1: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Damn, look at God. Right,
- 49:32Speaker 1: Let's talk about expansion. Man, the last time we saw you,
- 49:36Speaker 1: we were having a great time in the city of Houston.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Let's talk about where Marls was going. Are there more
- 49:42Speaker 1: cities that you're looking to expand into? Obviously I'm gonna
- 49:45Speaker 1: be biased that because we're in New York and there's
- 49:48Speaker 1: no oysters like yours. So, like, what's the deal with
- 49:51Speaker 1: expansion for the brand?
- 49:52Speaker 4: So we're coming to New York for sure? Yes, that's like,
- 49:55Speaker 4: you know, my relationship.
- 49:56Speaker 5: With New York, like all like majority of my friends
- 49:59Speaker 5: outside of New Orleans of from New York.
- 50:00Speaker 4: Got some cool homies from there.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Man, you got a lot.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Of New York. Yeah, I mean once you got to
- 50:05Speaker 1: pay attention to that, you know.
- 50:08Speaker 2: But what's crazy?
- 50:09Speaker 5: I was that kid, like you know, imagine like being
- 50:11Speaker 5: raised in New Orleans and you're watching these movies like
- 50:13Speaker 5: Paid Him Full and you're watching like I'm going to
- 50:16Speaker 5: I'm in high school, Like yo, whata w'll be?
- 50:19Speaker 4: I'm talking like I'm from New York. I'm like not
- 50:20Speaker 4: from New York.
- 50:21Speaker 5: But it was like, you know, of course, like like
- 50:23Speaker 5: Justin Colembs, he always telling me how he's influenced by
- 50:26Speaker 5: cash money, talking about cash money.
- 50:28Speaker 4: Come on, Justin Coles going crazy the word for word.
- 50:31Speaker 5: And it's so dope to see because him being from
- 50:34Speaker 5: the East Coast, being younger than me when he's thirty
- 50:36Speaker 5: years old now, but being so influenced by all culture.
- 50:40Speaker 5: It's like it's the same thing. So me viewing it
- 50:42Speaker 5: from afar, it's like, Wow, I want to go to
- 50:45Speaker 5: New York. Right twenty years old, I went to New
- 50:47Speaker 5: York and I met my homiemail Carter, Lonnie and Lonnie Ray,
- 50:51Speaker 5: my big brothers, and they exposed me to this whole
- 50:53Speaker 5: ecosystem in New.
- 50:54Speaker 4: York and showed me something I never seen in New Orleans.
- 50:58Speaker 4: I was young.
- 50:59Speaker 5: I was twenty years old, twenty one years old, and
- 51:01Speaker 5: they out there like you know, they picked me up
- 51:04Speaker 5: coloring in I'm not the coloring of the race and
- 51:07Speaker 5: all that stuff, like just everything.
- 51:08Speaker 4: I'm like, man, what's like what these But it was allowed.
- 51:12Speaker 5: Me to see something Penthouse, craziest pinhouse in Brooklyn Future
- 51:16Speaker 5: and everybody would come and like shoot videos there, and
- 51:19Speaker 5: it just.
- 51:19Speaker 4: Allowed me to see something different than where I'm from.
- 51:22Speaker 5: Like we're from the swamps, beautiful city, right, but we
- 51:25Speaker 5: below sea level.
- 51:26Speaker 4: You go to New York, it's a little different. You
- 51:27Speaker 4: go to la houses off the hill.
- 51:29Speaker 5: So when I started to travel more and see things
- 51:31Speaker 5: like that's when I just started to open up more
- 51:33Speaker 5: and knew that, you know, these certain things were obtainable.
- 51:37Speaker 5: So you know, my relationship with New York is like, man,
- 51:39Speaker 5: like I love it. Like I tell my homies all there,
- 51:41Speaker 5: I'm like, man, I'm half Brooklyn half New ally because
- 51:44Speaker 5: they like all my friends, y'all know, like, man, they're
- 51:47Speaker 5: from New York.
- 51:47Speaker 4: So we're coming to New York. We're going to Houston.
- 51:51Speaker 4: We're going to Houston first.
- 51:52Speaker 5: I don't know if I should be saying this, but
- 51:54Speaker 5: we gotta roll Houston, Atlanta, New York, Miami. So for
- 52:00Speaker 5: you know, so tomorrows I don't want Moorrows everywhere. I
- 52:02Speaker 5: want four Morrows. That's a game plan that can change.
- 52:04Speaker 5: But I know I can accomplish a goal I want
- 52:06Speaker 5: to accomplish by just getting four Morrows up throughout these
- 52:10Speaker 5: cities and expanding. And like, you know, I can be
- 52:14Speaker 5: at the wrong table discussion. You know some numbers, you
- 52:17Speaker 5: know so that it's gonna happen.
- 52:20Speaker 3: So how is the what's the difference between the night
- 52:24Speaker 3: life vibe and the restaurant Because you have a club,
- 52:28Speaker 3: but you also have all of the restaurants. So a
- 52:30Speaker 3: lot of people shy away from night life because of
- 52:35Speaker 3: it's a lot of money, but it's a lot of
- 52:37Speaker 3: problems we all know, like night life it's never a
- 52:40Speaker 3: good combination with alcohol, more liability and.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Two o'clock in the morning.
- 52:46Speaker 3: It's just it's a it's a recipe for disaster.
- 52:50Speaker 2: How are you able to navigate that?
- 52:51Speaker 3: And what's your take on the differences between the restaurant
- 52:55Speaker 3: industry and the night life industry?
- 52:56Speaker 5: So if I can get you know, I mean at
- 52:59Speaker 5: this point, like you it's not easy to sell a club, right,
- 53:03Speaker 5: Like like I'm thinking of the big picture and what
- 53:05Speaker 5: I'm trying to create I thought that I could with
- 53:08Speaker 5: a club, right, So club is something that I love
- 53:10Speaker 5: and like I want to own and I want to
- 53:12Speaker 5: continue to do not be so involved in it, but
- 53:15Speaker 5: because it helps, Like you know, me own the night
- 53:18Speaker 5: life and you know, the profit margins are different, you know,
- 53:21Speaker 5: being in that industry. Own the club is like I'm
- 53:23Speaker 5: able to you know, have a different pace, Like I'm
- 53:27Speaker 5: able to go at a different pace because the cast
- 53:29Speaker 5: looaw is different.
- 53:30Speaker 4: Right.
- 53:30Speaker 5: So, but when you're talking about longevity, like night life
- 53:34Speaker 5: is short term, you know, like you know, you got
- 53:36Speaker 5: to get club at the club at the club at
- 53:37Speaker 5: the club. Morrow has been running for five years. It's
- 53:40Speaker 5: made five years April sixth, and you know it's consistent.
- 53:42Speaker 4: You know, I go to sleep, I wake up and
- 53:44Speaker 4: get money.
- 53:45Speaker 5: You know night life if you know, it's not gonna
- 53:47Speaker 5: be as consistent as a restaurant can be.
- 53:49Speaker 4: So I switch to my game plan.
- 53:52Speaker 5: I'm like, you know, I want more Morrows versus more
- 53:54Speaker 5: treehouses because now I can create something that is sellable.
- 53:58Speaker 4: You know, I can scale something up and you know,
- 54:01Speaker 4: I can package it up and sell it. So that's my.
- 54:04Speaker 5: Goal, Like my goal is to not let's say I
- 54:06Speaker 5: wanted to sell my company, but to be at the
- 54:09Speaker 5: table and to experience the feeling of if I want
- 54:12Speaker 5: to like you know, like are you cool? Like I'm
- 54:14Speaker 5: gonna package my whole hospitality Morrow's Hospitality and you know,
- 54:17Speaker 5: potentially sell it to someone. But you know, I think
- 54:21Speaker 5: I think that's one of the goals for the future.
- 54:23Speaker 8: Are there are there other verticals inside of the hospitality
- 54:26Speaker 8: group that you're willing to explore in terms of maybe
- 54:28Speaker 8: merch or a product that Morrow's is going to have
- 54:33Speaker 8: and now license to other people.
- 54:35Speaker 4: Oh, I don't think it license anything. I mean I
- 54:38Speaker 4: mean you.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Said merch, well, yeah, merge cookbooks, recipes.
- 54:42Speaker 4: I mean yeah.
- 54:42Speaker 5: Well, like so like my mom she has uh my
- 54:46Speaker 5: seasons and no different products coming out coming out with
- 54:50Speaker 5: mercery coming out a bunch of different things. But outside
- 54:54Speaker 5: of like the the seasons and different things, it's not
- 54:56Speaker 5: gonna be much every licensed. I think there's going to
- 54:58Speaker 5: be more. So you know, we're trying to package everything
- 55:01Speaker 5: just to make it. We'll just scale it up, like
- 55:05Speaker 5: you're trying to keep everything, you know, so you're looking
- 55:08Speaker 5: at the exit already, well, just trying to come up
- 55:11Speaker 5: with like something's like so I never had this big
- 55:14Speaker 5: vision of like wanting to sell my company, and I've
- 55:16Speaker 5: been projecting the number into the universe, like, look, I
- 55:18Speaker 5: want to sell my company for this, right, so like
- 55:20Speaker 5: one hundred million. Yeah it so my goal is one
- 55:22Speaker 5: hundred million. So I'm projecting into the universe. I'm all right, cool,
- 55:25Speaker 5: I got to figure out how to do this right.
- 55:27Speaker 5: So it's not so much about selling it, it's more
- 55:29Speaker 5: so about setting goals.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 55:32Speaker 5: So I set the goal of like I want to
- 55:33Speaker 5: sell a company for one hundred million, and you know
- 55:35Speaker 5: that's the game.
- 55:36Speaker 4: That's the goal. Now, So my team around like, oh,
- 55:38Speaker 4: we're selling this company for one hundred million.
- 55:40Speaker 2: The value and that is that.
- 55:41Speaker 3: Now you're reverse engineer it because a lot of times
- 55:43Speaker 3: we're not even exposed to actually exiting company, so we
- 55:46Speaker 3: don't really plan for that.
- 55:47Speaker 2: But it's all right.
- 55:48Speaker 3: If I want to sell it for one hundred million,
- 55:50Speaker 3: and let's say the multiple is a ten x multiple,
- 55:54Speaker 3: it might be less than the rest of our dustry,
- 55:56Speaker 3: but just using that as an example, now I have
- 55:58Speaker 3: to bring in ten million dollars year in revenue, right,
- 56:02Speaker 3: and now you reverse engineered at to say, okay, what
- 56:05Speaker 3: do I need to bring in ten million dollars a year,
- 56:07Speaker 3: and now you're looking at a pathway to one hundred
- 56:09Speaker 3: million dollars, or if you're looking at a billion dollars,
- 56:11Speaker 3: it's the same thing. It's just different multiple IRV Gott
- 56:13Speaker 3: he told us something that was extremely insightful, and he said,
- 56:18Speaker 3: you can't sell what you don't own, right, That's why
- 56:22Speaker 3: ownership is so important. Can't sell what you don't own.
- 56:27Speaker 3: That's elementary. But you'd be surprised how many people don't
- 56:31Speaker 3: fully understand that, right, Because at some point in time,
- 56:33Speaker 3: you might want to sell something, whether it's your music catalog,
- 56:37Speaker 3: whether it's a restaurant, whether we talked about Squid Games.
- 56:40Speaker 3: The director of that sold to his IP for one
- 56:42Speaker 3: hundred and fifty thousand dollars and it made Netflix nine
- 56:45Speaker 3: hundred million. You can't sell what you don't own, and
- 56:50Speaker 3: you got to have a plan to sell because you
- 56:53Speaker 3: never know.
- 56:55Speaker 5: That's what Dave Grumman, you know, Dave Remmy, we had
- 56:57Speaker 5: a conversation one day.
- 57:00Speaker 1: He owned to the whole city of Miami.
- 57:02Speaker 4: He owns everything.
- 57:03Speaker 5: Live on a Sunday Komodo Poppy Steak, somebody I watched.
- 57:06Speaker 5: I watched and he told me it was like on
- 57:08Speaker 5: your IP because you're like we had these comm we
- 57:11Speaker 5: had this conversation during the pandemic.
- 57:12Speaker 4: I texted him like they he called me like what
- 57:14Speaker 4: was up there? I mean he was like, what's up later?
- 57:16Speaker 4: And he was just so.
- 57:17Speaker 5: Eager to give me the advice and he was like,
- 57:18Speaker 5: man on you, I p like unless you like you know,
- 57:21Speaker 5: if you partner with a guy, like for real, you know,
- 57:23Speaker 5: like this.
- 57:23Speaker 4: Is before you open up the hotel, but you know,
- 57:25Speaker 4: good day.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:26Speaker 4: So so, but.
- 57:28Speaker 5: Like right now it's like the goal like like like
- 57:31Speaker 5: my team is like I will go one morning.
- 57:32Speaker 4: I'm like, y'all want to sell for under me? All right,
- 57:35Speaker 4: it just came out.
- 57:36Speaker 5: I don't know where it came from, honestly, and honestly,
- 57:38Speaker 5: I've been projecting into the universe and I'm not saying
- 57:40Speaker 5: I'm going to sell, but you know now it's like
- 57:43Speaker 5: my team shout out at Theora, I see theory, et ceterac.
- 57:47Speaker 5: This was my team right there. But yeah, she's she'd
- 57:50Speaker 5: be like, yo, we're selling for a hundred me, you
- 57:52Speaker 5: know what I mean. So now it's like when you
- 57:54Speaker 5: got everybody like we're selling fun of me, and like
- 57:56Speaker 5: everybody working towards his goal.
- 57:57Speaker 4: It's like, how can you lose?
- 58:00Speaker 1: It's better to make it even better when your dogs
- 58:02Speaker 1: make it with you.
- 58:03Speaker 4: But it's like it's like, you know, imagine.
- 58:05Speaker 5: That that ball player in high school knowing he going
- 58:07Speaker 5: to the pros and he gonna get.
- 58:08Speaker 4: A big check.
- 58:09Speaker 5: Ball he gotta do is stay focused. That's the feeling, like,
- 58:11Speaker 5: you know, we gotta stay focused. We stay focused, we
- 58:14Speaker 5: gonna see that check. You've always got the grind.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Just twenty recently he became a father, right, talk about
- 58:21Speaker 1: the impact that that's had on your mindset and your
- 58:25Speaker 1: structure around business.
- 58:27Speaker 2: Man.
- 58:28Speaker 5: Let me tell you, And this is being just transparent,
- 58:31Speaker 5: Like this morning, my daughter, like when I woke up,
- 58:33Speaker 5: like I was holding that She's like, Daddy, I love you,
- 58:35Speaker 5: and like, man, like I was emotional. I just started
- 58:38Speaker 5: like I dropped them tears because it was like I
- 58:40Speaker 5: had a moment like man, it's just so it's like,
- 58:42Speaker 5: especially during this weekend, like you know, so much has
- 58:44Speaker 5: happened in the past few days of just like just
- 58:47Speaker 5: me connecting and seeing people and like yo, telling me
- 58:50Speaker 5: like how I inspired them and how this and like
- 58:52Speaker 5: man like like I'm a big fan of yours and
- 58:54Speaker 5: people from all over right, Like I walk in the
- 58:57Speaker 5: Essence Fest yesterday for thirty minutes and people stopping me
- 58:59Speaker 5: taking picture. She's like, Yo, you're a big inspiration. And
- 59:01Speaker 5: so when I woke up this morning, I'm holding her
- 59:03Speaker 5: and she's like, Daddy, I love you, and like I
- 59:05Speaker 5: just started crying, like drop some tears because it's like,
- 59:08Speaker 5: this is what I'm doing it for, you know what
- 59:09Speaker 5: I mean, Like everything that I'm doing is to build
- 59:11Speaker 5: that legacy so I can create something for her. So
- 59:14Speaker 5: it's like being a father has changed me. It's like
- 59:17Speaker 5: been the game change and allowed me to just like
- 59:19Speaker 5: see things differently. It gave my life purpose. It made
- 59:21Speaker 5: me say, like you know what, like this ain't if
- 59:23Speaker 5: I was to be gone today. I'm building something for her,
- 59:26Speaker 5: for my family and for the woman around me.
- 59:29Speaker 4: So it's had such a positive impact.
- 59:31Speaker 5: Man, And not having a father has made me want
- 59:34Speaker 5: to be a better father. So, like it can be
- 59:36Speaker 5: emotional at times because it's like its Father' Day. Man,
- 59:39Speaker 5: I experienced emotional experience during Father's Day. It's like, Damn,
- 59:44Speaker 5: my father wasn't there. I never even thought about that
- 59:47Speaker 5: on Father's Day, Like Damn, my father wasn't even there,
- 59:50Speaker 5: and you know, like I'm here with my daughter and
- 59:53Speaker 5: it's like such a beautiful feeling and it's like, damn,
- 59:55Speaker 5: he wasn't even there. So I had like shot a
- 59:58Speaker 5: tweet out and I'm like, I said, man, I still
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: resent my father for not being there. It was just
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: like an emotion that was going through me because it
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: was like I never felt it. I never really even cared, honestly,
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: And a lot of people like could relate to it
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: because it's like, you know, it's like, you know, I mean,
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: you shouldn't hold onto things like that, but for some reason,
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: I'm not a person that hold grudges at all. I
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: forget and forgive, but it's like I hold on to
- 1:00:21Speaker 5: that for some reason because.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: It's like it's just it's just something that stuck to me.
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: It's just it's still stick to me. It's just like
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: I just.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: Kind of, you know, it's just a feeling of him
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: not being there, but knowing that's such a beautiful thing,
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: Like you give life, why not be there for you know,
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: the kid or no person you bring into.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: The world, you know, So so let me ask you
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: this as far as your journey is concerned. I know
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: physical fitness is a part of it. Right, what's your
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: routine because that's important. I think so many times like
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: we run ourselves ragged, and it's like, as a business owner,
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: you're only as good as the clarity of your mind.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Extremely underrated when it comes to running a business. This
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: is why you have to eat healthy. You have to
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: avoid toxic relationships. I tell my guys all the time.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: I'm like, if you're in a relationship issue, it's gonna
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: affect your work no matter how focused you are. You
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: can't be one hundred percent focused on something if you're
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: in a toxic relationship. Same thing if you're not healthy.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: So what's your workout routine? I know that's important to you.
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: So I wake up like every morning, well you know,
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: of course not every morning, but even if I even
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: if I get in late, like I got in that
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: six am. I woke up at like non forty five,
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: It's just like, you know, this is how I'm wired.
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: Like I'm just used to at this point because I
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: don't believe in getting it late, being excused.
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: To start your day late.
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: You know, So woke up at noin forty five, got
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: in that six am, yeah, I'm tired, but I like,
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: I get on my friends all day every day, like
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: like to the point where I FaceTime at eleven o'clock.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: You're not answer it intentionally, not to my phone call
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: because you know, I'm gonna go crazy, Like how we're
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: gonna be friends?
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: You waking up at eleven twelve? Like that's not like,
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: that's not what That's not what success successful people.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Do two o'clock is crazy, you know.
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: So, so I'm on them.
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: So I'm I'm tough on myself, right, I'm tough on myself,
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: Like like I got in at five am and I
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: went work out at eight am, like maybe a week
- 1:02:19Speaker 5: ago into you like man, consistency and persistence was a
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: person you know. Like you know, I just think when
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: you want to be successful, you got to create good habits.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: You cannot be.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: Successful and wake up at noon and expect to go,
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: you know, make the best of your day.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: You lost so many hours of the day.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: I just want to say one thing with the follow
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: up on that success leaves clues, yep, one of this.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: So were in Miami a few years ago, right, and
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Fountain Blue, you know, found Blue.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: You gotta drive like all the way up right.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: So we're driving them and this is like it's like
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: eleven forty five, twelve o'clock at night. We just came
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: from dinner, about to go to Found Blue, get dressed,
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: and they're about to go out, right, So driving by myself,
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: I'm in the car and I'm driving on the road
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: to Fountain Blue, twelve o'clock at night, and I see
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: somebody running in the middle of the street, you know,
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: Found Blue. That's kind of like almost like a highway,
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: kind of like you know, I mean, it's like it's
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: a busy street, but they're like running in the middle
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: of the street by themselves, running towards me. And as
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: he as he gets closer, I see who he is.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Who you think it was? Take a guess.
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: In Miami, Falling Blue.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: Floyd Mayweather. He wasn't training for a fight.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: This is after he retired, by the way, when he's
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: already in his forties, when he's already fifty and old,
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: when he's already almost a billionaire. And when I saw that,
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: I said, I get it, because nobody's ever going to
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: see that. You're going to see him on Instagram with
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: a million dollars of cash and fourteen million dollar watch
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: and private planes, the discipline of the same thing since
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: he was six years old to forty two when nobody's
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: watching for no reason, because you become addicted to certain things, right,
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: you could be addicted to the bad things, you predicted
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: to good.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: Things as well.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: So when he's when I saw that, it was just
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: so inspiring to me because I'm like, I understand why
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: he's the best now, you know what I'm saying, Because
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: he's doing this when he doesn't have to at an
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: hour that nobody would ever be running at twelve o'clock
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: by himself. And I'm just like, success leaves clues, like
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: you know what I mean, Like people that are successful usually.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: Have similar habits.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: And even when we met Akon and we asked him, like,
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: what's some of the biggest lessons that you learned from, like,
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: you know, hanging around billionaires and different things that nature,
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: And he was like a lot of the billionaires, like
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: they heavily are spiritual, no matter what their religion is, Muslim, Christian, whatever.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: He was like, that's a common denominator. Like you know,
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: he keeps them grounded, It keeps them a bigger purpose,
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: It keeps because It's like after you get a couple
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: million dollars, you might think that your god, you know
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: what I mean. But then it's like, if you're humble
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: enough to understand that all this can be taken away
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: from you, your drive is going to be different, and
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: your purpose is going to be different because you realize
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: that it's not just about you. You're here to actually
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: help other people. So that has to come from a
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: connection higher and bigger than yourself. So a lot of
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: these different things, these are like intangible things that you
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: really just can't pick up on your own. You have
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: to have to see it firsthand. So I wanted to
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: talk about that working out. I think that that was
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: important because people, you know, they see success, but there's
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: other things that anybody can do to actually get themselves
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: to that.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Jury that that that piece you just spoke about that
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: waking up, Yeah, like that's that. I always tell people,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: that's that fatherhood lesson. Don't matter what time you're getting
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: you come in at night, your kids waking up at seven,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: but see and they deserve to have you.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: I think I spent a lot of time preparing for
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: what's to come because I know what's coming, right, So
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: I'm gonna wake up and I'm gonna get to it.
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: I'm gonna be the first one up.
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: I'm gonna go to sleep late, I'm gonna work out,
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: I'm gonna be out with you, and I'm gonna wake
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: up before you.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: So all my friends, every single one, they know how
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: I am when they wake up late. I swear I'm
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: like a drill sawgiant like like like even with my
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: evil with my fiance, like at one point, she used
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: to wake up later than me, right, and I told him, like.
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: Man, what's she doing.
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: You can't be waking always like that. Man, I wake
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: up in the morning. She gone, you know, I mean
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: she out the bed working out, Like wake up before me.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: Now six am and she be out the door. And
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: you know, it's just like it's about having people around
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: that's gonna push you and not allow you to, you know,
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: sleep on yourself, because you know, we all can be great,
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: but we just got to really put that projector into
- 1:06:38Speaker 5: the universe, and you know, just have a nice ecosystem.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: You lead by demonstration, right, I wanted at this point,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: right because we've seen you and every time we see you,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: you got your day ones with you is that any
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: point does survivors remorse kick in for you? Or has
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: it kicked in for you? Right like I'm making it.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: And some of the guys that I came up with,
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: they even fell off or I try to put them
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: in positions and it didn't work. Is that that happened
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: to you throughout the course of building the b No.
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: I think you know, everybody want different things in life.
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: You know, everybody want different things. And you know if
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: you're if you're one of my friends, you know, you
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: know me, you know how I am. And I put
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: in the group the group chat the other day with
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: my homiess like ten of us, and I said, man, look,
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: life is about helping one another.
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: I said, if.
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: Any any of y'all need anything from me, let me know,
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: Like maybe we need to sit down and have more
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: round table talks. But that's what it's about, Like we
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: can build our business off the backs of others because
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: that's what we're supposed to do.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: Right, Let me help you helped me. Let's gratch each
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: other back.
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: So I told them that, and it's like I'm here
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: but because and the reason why I said that because
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: the day before I saw a homie mind close friend
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: of mine and his business, and he was talking about
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: some of the struggles of his business. But I'm like,
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: you're trying to do it all alone. No, I'm like, bro,
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: I'm not successful because I'm doing doing this alone. I'm
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: successful because I have a team around me that people
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: that's helping me.
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: Like, none of this was built by just by me.
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: Through the good grace of God.
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: I have a blessed I'm blessed to have a great
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: team and a great support system that helped, you know, manifest.
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: All these ideas.
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: But it's not like it was a lot harder when
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: it was just me, you know, coming up with the
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: idea of trying to execute it.
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: Do the whole No, do the whole thing.
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: But now that I can come up with an idea
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: and we can sit at the table and figure out
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: how to execute it, it helps and it helps me
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: accomplish and us accomplish more so. Now, man, with the homies,
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: it's like, I'm not because I think, you know, everybody
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: got the same twenty four I push my homies.
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: I'm here, I can support you whatever.
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: You need, and I always you know, let them know, like, yo, look,
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: let's figure out how we can utilize each other.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: So before you rap, what's what's on the vision? Boy?
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: You talked about you know the restaurants? Are you getting
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: more into real estate? Do you what else do you
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: want to do? Like what's your tenure plan?
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Looking like?
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: Honestly, like, I'm not a person that planning out there
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: for ten years is a long time. We gotta get
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: the ten, We'll get the five first, you know, I'm
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: thinking about today and honestly, like my game plan change
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: every every day.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: They'll tell you all wake up one day and be like, yo.
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: Look look we're gonna we're gonna I wanna buy this.
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: Oh were not open up? No more restaurants, And I'm like, oh,
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: look no, I want ten more. So it's like I'm
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: a tough person to deal with because like a lot
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: of like you know, I go off my emotions, like
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: so some days I'm feeling like, man, let's go, let's
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: let's go get it. In the days I'm like, no,
- 1:09:09Speaker 5: let's be strategic and figure out how we want to
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: do this. So I know the next five years the
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: goal is to build this company up. Entertained some conversations
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: to see if we want to sell the company. I
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: know in the next you know, three to four five
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: years that we will be in a position to where
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: in which we I feel like we're in a position
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: now to what we have had conversations, but nothing that like,
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: not the conversations that we want yet, you know, so
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: I would say in the next five years to continue
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: to grow this hospitality company. Uh, we're acquiring some of
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: the real estate that we know what our businesses are
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: because I kind of fell back off of real estate.
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: Only real estate that I want right now is the
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: commercial pieces that you know, we house all businesses. Uh,
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: probably another kid, another kid grow this empire.
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: We're about collaborations. Oh yeah, definitely collaborations.
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: I have a few people that know I'm looking to
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: collaborate with.
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: I can't say who yet because you know, we had some.
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: Conversations and we talk about collaborating and it's probably gonna
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: happen in their future.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: Because of course, in order to go big, you.
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: Gotta have, you know, take a lot of capital, you know,
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: so like you know, Catch Hospitality become Catch Hospitality because
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: they were good. They had great people around them and
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: people that were willing to invest in their dreams. So
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: we've been able to build up this far, and at
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: some point we may say, you know what, let's let's
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: go bigger.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: You know, do you ever realize I mean, I mean,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: it's tough right when you're doing the work. It's tough
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: to look in the rear view the path that you're trailblazing.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: When I'm listening to it, I hear Dave Gruttman, that's
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: a phone call, catch hospitality, that's a phone call. These
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: aren't doors that have always been open for people that
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: look like us. Do you realize the path that you are?
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: You aware of it? Like sometimes you know, I mean
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: because sometimes we get caught in the moment with moments
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: so fast we don't realize what we're doing.
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: I'll be telling them like, man, look man, look what's
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: going on? Like I tell my mom sometimes I'm like yo, ma,
- 1:10:57Speaker 5: like look what's going on? Like this shit is happening
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: right now. Look at what's going on. This is not normal.
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: And I know for a fact, like just what we've built,
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: the ecosystem, what we created, it's not normal. Man, it's
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: not normal, Like you know, it ain't like you know,
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: like friends come to a lot of my friends. Man,
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: I'm thankful to have blessed people in my life and
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: just people who care about what I'm doing and friends
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: from all over who just like always remind me like yo,
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: like because sometimes I just be like, you know, it's
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: like regular, but you know you get reminded like, man,
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: this is this ship is this is extraordinary. You know,
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: this ship is for real?
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: You know what I mean.
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: So, man, it's just a feeling I get, man like,
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: you know, like I get to I get the BG's
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: man like, get the bubble guts thinking about it because
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: it's like I know what's happening, man, and like in
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: my heart and my soul. Like I told my mother
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: the other day, I said.
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: This is gonna happen. I'm telling you, I promise you.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: It's no way for it not to happen.
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: You know, through the good rice of God. Man, we're
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: gonna be able to do all the things that we
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: want to do in this lifetime.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: I appreciate you, man, definitely, this was dope for us.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: You know, I connect with you a lot and ask you.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: You know, you always help invact fest anything that we need.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: You know, call and.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: It's never a problem. So I'm glad that.
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: When we came to New Orleans, he was able to
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: connect with you and it's dope conversation actually very insightful,
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: and it's great to hear from the entrepreneurs, you know.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: For me, like that's something like I always just pick
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: up information and I've just learned a variety of different
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: things just now actually just got some few ideas from
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: hearing you talk. And it's even better to do it
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: in a bookstore, like it's interviewing an entrepreneur in another
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: entrepreneur's establishment. It's very important, Like you know, our entrepreneurship
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: is something that we need to highlight. We need to
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: highlight more, you know what I'm saying, because it's like
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: that's the real engine to actually change things. Entertainment is great,
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: but the vast majority of people are not going to
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: be successful as entertainers, and entertainment opportunity to change things
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: is limited. Yeah, like you can make you know, positive
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: messages through your songs, different things of that nature, but
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: real change comes from business private sector because everything really
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: comes down the money, like politicians, school.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: Health, all of that.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: So this is why it's like the entrepreneurs are really
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: the most important people in our community. So it's like
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: we need to celebrate them and champion them and telling
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: their stories and learn from them because it's important. So
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: I think what you're doing is not only inspiring and motivational,
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: but it's very important because we know New Orleans similar
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: to Chicago, where there's a lot of violence, there's a
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: lot of you know, homicides. All of that stuff comes
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: from poverty. Right, So it's like, if we can change
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: the mindset of people and change how young people are
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: thinking and give them opportunities and how you don't necessarily
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: have to join the gang.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: You can be entrepreneur.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: You can get mentored by an entrepreneur, you can work
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: in this X, Y and Z restaurant, Like you know,
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: you're changing people's lives by providing them jobs and providing
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: them information and providing them you know, you never really know,
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: Like sometimes they take that for granted as well, Like
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: you know, even where we're from, our neighborhood, like all
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: of the kids want to be entrepreneurs.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: Now. They all selling merched, everybody got a podcast.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: Everybody doing that, right, And that's because they saw us
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: and they're like if they do it, I know I
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: can do it. So now we're the person they're not
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: looking up to the drug dealer. They're looking up to us,
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: So it's like giving them different opportunities. Nobody wants to
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: be a negative person. But if that's all they see
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: as a viable option, then you're going to make that decision.
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: But if you give them different options, then they have
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: different things to choose from. So continue on the path
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: that you're on. Hopefully we can go to your restaurant
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: before we leave here in a monkey but nah man,
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: thank you again and telling people you know where they
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: can patronize your restaurants when they come to the city.
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: So tomorrow's twenty four to thirty eight. Saint Claud's right
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: down the street, two minutes from here, Sunshine French Quarter
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: hot spot, you know, right in the mix of everything
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: to for the kid to Monday mid city Ship.
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: I can't remember address seven Beanville.
- 1:15:10Speaker 5: We got Morrow Steak on the way downtown, Spicy Man,
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: go for Frenchman Street, Historic Trip. You know, we're right
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: at the forefront of it, Like you gotta pass me
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: before you go on Frenchman Me first. You so Treehouse.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: You know, it's it's like a straight line because everything
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: goes straight. You know, we got like.
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: Every part of the city, Central City to every every.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: Part at your restaurant without Monday.
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: You can get seafood gumbo at Marrows.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: Only on Monday. Gumbo Monday.
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: Monday is no point, no no, no, no Monday. But yeah,
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: so like man, like you know, thank y'all for you know,
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: sharing your playform legend.
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: I appreciate it. You know this is big man, because
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: I watch you'll journey, watch y'all.
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: You know, do what y'all doing, man, Like I told
- 1:15:59Speaker 5: you today, like like man italy like lids.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: Purposes only like.
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: Man, don't listen, like you know, like I want to
- 1:16:10Speaker 5: give you y'all, like give you all your flowers, because man,
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: what you're doing, bro, like real talk, like y'all really
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: inspiring the world. Like what you're doing, man, you'll playing
- 1:16:18Speaker 5: that y'all built and just connecting the dots and just
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: invest fest and educating people and just showing people.
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:16:23Speaker 5: It's like you know, like like me and Justin coins
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: was having a conversation one day and I'm like, you know,
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: right now, what's happening. It's a new age of you know,
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: just entrepreneurs, just just individuals and like you know, they
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: got the wholes, they got the puffs, they got the
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: you know, the just all the people that came before us,
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: but they got you know, people that got to go
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: feel those you know, those seats and generation. I believe
- 1:16:46Speaker 5: you know what you guys are doing. You already got
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: to see what your name on it, and so do I.
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: So uh, you know, man, just continue to be a
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: motivation for all of us, man, because I've truly been
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: inspired by your journey.
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: So thank y'all.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: Thank you once again, thanks to the hospitality for ball
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: when it come bookstore and coffee shop. If you're in
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: new wallets, make sure you're patronize. It's very tastefully done.
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: I haven't been a bookstore on a very long time.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: So you feel like I want to read a book
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: to get something.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: For sure.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: But that's important to literature, is important in the in
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: the age of AI and the age of you know technology.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: Never forget to actually read. That's something that a lot
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: of people don't. They get the information just from Instagram
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: and somebody's opinion and they take that as fact and
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: it's very dangerous.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Actually what you want to have something from put in
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: the book.
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's that's something that I think that we're
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: getting away from. So education is extremely important, not just
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: the education that's provided for you from other people, but
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: education that you provide for yourself. So you know, as
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: the man they sat Ghana, they said, until the lion
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: gets to tell his story, the hunter is always going
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: to be glamorized something I'm kind of paraphrasing. We've been
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: taught from the hunter's perspective. We've been we let them
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: tell our story for us. You know, these kind of establishments.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: There's a reason why, like, you know, the ancient library.
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: We went to Egypt, the ancient Library I believe was
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: in Cairo. They were saying it was the largest lib
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: It was the largest library in the world at that time, right,
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: and it was like it was burnt to the ground.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: Believe Alexander the Great burnt it down or one of them.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: There's a reason why it was burnt because they were like,
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: that has so much information. It set the world back
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: thousands of years by them burning that library. But you
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: burn the library, you raise the history and you keep
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: people ignorant. Right, So this is an age of information,
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: but it's also age of just nonsense because we have
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: so much access on our phone, but we have.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: So many distractions as well.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: So it's extremely important not to always be distracted and
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: actually take time to learn and to educate yourself. So
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: a bookstore, what better way to have this conversation of
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: actually learning in the new age media, we're having, you know,
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: a conversation like this in a bookstore. That're both ways
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: to educate yourself, whether you're listening to it, watching on YouTube,
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: actually physically reading a book. Never forget that education is
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: a lifelong journey and you can't just constantly distract yourself.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: You have to at some point in time unplugged from
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: the matrix and actually education here.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: And on top of that, I mean, if you look
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: at the authors on the shelves, black authors, right, and
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: so we always talk about oppression and ignorance, right, but
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: indoctrination is that last piece, and so it could be
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: looked at a negative connotation until you realize that we
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: have an opportunity to change the doctrine. And when we
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: look at the authors out of the in here that's happening.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: We look at what we're doing, that's happening. We look
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: what you're doing is happening. We're creating a new man.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: So we're gonna keep going. Man, we got we got
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: our role to play. You got yours and everybody that's
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: in it. I think we ain't say shot out to them,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: but shout out to the studio audience that's it. Know
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: your clap for yourselves.
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: Yes live studio orders. So thank you guys for coming out.
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: I hope you enjoyed it. Larry always a pleasure in
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: my brother, And shou out to everybody that's watching this.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: We'll see you next week. Peace. Peace.
- 1:20:23Speaker 7: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 1:20:27Speaker 7: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 1:20:31Speaker 7: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 1:20:35Speaker 7: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 1:20:39Speaker 7: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 1:20:43Speaker 7: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christine Noman, the United States
- 1:20:46Speaker 7: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 1:20:51Speaker 7: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 1:20:55Speaker 7: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 1:20:58Speaker 7: were here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
- 1:21:02Speaker 7: one thousand dollars a day. Imprisoned and deported, you will
- 1:21:06Speaker 7: never return but if you register using our CBP home
- 1:21:10Speaker 7: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 1:21:14Speaker 7: Do what's right, leave now. Under President Trump America's laws,
- 1:21:19Speaker 7: border and families.
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: Will be protected.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security,
