- 0:36All glad everybody made it home from travels last weekend if
- 0:39you're traveling. Let's get the ball rolling.
- 0:43Governor, how are you? You know, the this is this is
- 0:51kind of the welcome to Texas diatribe.
- 0:55I'm about to go on, you know, like you standing there on the
- 0:59track it is just like we just got hit with a deluge of water
- 1:04and the kids are looking at me like what are we doing today?
- 1:07And I'm like, give it a minute, give it a minute, give it a
- 1:09minute. And then you see the first
- 1:12glimpse of the Sun and you're like, oh yeah we're good, we're
- 1:15good. You guys clear?
- 1:18And it looks beautiful or out there in the winds blowing and
- 1:22then you realize that this is the absolute worst time as a
- 1:25coach to be out there because when I when I want, when I came
- 1:28home, my eyes, everything just cross P.
- 1:33I like I slept for about two hours this afternoon, like when
- 1:37I came on. Wow, I was done.
- 1:39So I'm okay. Now, it took me a while but I'm
- 1:42okay. Welcome to the warmth.
- 1:50I had my space heater on 80 today so I'm glad I was not
- 1:54able. Wow, I'm not even give you the
- 2:02pleasure of going next. Slide, it, can you hear us?
- 2:05I can It is like I keep telling you
- 2:47you're not. First world are first class
- 2:48problems. What are the reviews from the
- 2:55new Gainesville indoor facility? What have you been hearing?
- 3:00What I've been hearing is, it was interesting because the
- 3:03first weekend we were in Clemens in the first week at the beat
- 3:05open and Nick Peterson was getting text messages about
- 3:09complaints about runway length. And stuff like that as if we
- 3:13designed the building between that's that's that's the first
- 3:17reaction people had. To watch.
- 3:43No. Competition is so given get a
- 3:45feel for what I want and who I might want to sit over there at
- 3:49some point? Yeah.
- 3:50I feel like I said this to the in the offices, I feel like it's
- 3:53such an oxymoron to fly to Florida to Griffin endure.
- 3:57I mean, best Last Chance meet in the
- 4:13country. All right, last but not least
- 4:51because I couldn't, I had to make you sit in this name.
- 4:55You have a moral house. I hate so much.
- 4:59Literally, come on. This one is a good one.
- 5:03That is actually pretty good. I see three that's in your top
- 5:09three. I had to pay.
- 5:10Omar's because I feel bouncy today.
- 5:16Thank you, sir. Lucius me and you me and you.
- 5:20No, no. I With that said, do not at me.
- 5:33I know how to spell you more and I know her.
- 5:35Last name is not roll house. The only knows because he asked,
- 5:40okay. But I know, right.
- 5:47All right. With that, with that chaos track
- 5:51is officially back. Like it was back before but it's
- 5:55officially officially because there were so many marks this
- 6:00weekend in my room bit like to Collegiate, records in
- 6:05traditional in traditional marks already is really fast for the
- 6:11season. Yeah.
- 6:12Like you if it's a 300 or something like that it's it's an
- 6:18awesome. Hurdles in the same weekend with
- 6:25the hours of each other. There's like they were smooth
- 6:28while I can talk to the hurdles smooth.
- 6:32The yeah like Extinction and that's the thing like Anna, we
- 6:36have this kind of discussion on which performance was more
- 6:38impressive and like I think they're too close for me, but
- 6:44I'm going to lean on the hurdles.
- 6:45Not because I was a hurdler. So before we get back, throw it
- 6:50but because her technical models, So much better.
- 6:54It was a year ago. Yes, you know, like she's I
- 6:57mean, it's amazing, the transformation she's made.
- 7:00It really is, you know, and like because we know flow and because
- 7:07we know his mindset like this is a Dye called was a, dude.
- 7:11It's out of character for you. You don't do this stuff.
- 7:13The second biggest meet in January.
- 7:15You might start this mess at the conference me.
- 7:17So what the heck she gonna run in?
- 7:20In Martin we go back there, right?
- 7:22So you know, those are to watch. Ouch, I think that it's been
- 7:25amazing to man. Just be like, Alfred now has for
- 7:30the top five, 60 marks in history, amazing.
- 7:34Yeah, maybe that's amazing. What else?
- 7:42Well I have to go back to the week before because Britain
- 7:47Wilson's 125 that's pretty. Yeah.
- 7:51And that was smooth. So I got to see that one too.
- 7:54So so we got to follow you around employee Direction.
- 8:14Close. It looked like that was just
- 8:21rolling and she's going to be great to see what she does with
- 8:29our dogs outside. And it's going to be impressive.
- 8:33No, I'm not sure exactly what she's going to run this year
- 8:40indoors because she can run either the for the gate if she
- 8:43wanted to. It looks like right?
- 8:45Because we you get you 1125. They could they bring you
- 8:48through a 130. You're like, God, brought you
- 8:50one of the roof that could get interesting about it.
- 8:54I think she's gonna run the quarter sheet, shrimp 55
- 8:56Outdoors last year, but then just speaks to the training
- 8:59model of the great things they're doing and know, you
- 9:02know, you know couple weeks ago. Also I think we have to give a
- 9:05shout out to Jasmine. More.
- 9:06Who has like five or six of the top 10 will triple jump watching
- 9:10issue. Yeah, so yeah.
- 9:17That's all I can say to that. Is Jasmine.
- 9:21More is a, she is a cheat code and it's so awesome to watch.
- 9:30Going on the men's side. I mean you're in week two and
- 9:33it's it's 663 to make gate right now, right now, right now it
- 9:40might take 60 this year, right? What are we doing here?
- 9:47Remember, it's absolutely, he's not on the list.
- 9:56Yeah, oh my gosh. Yeah, I think about you think
- 10:01about cone 651. That was impressive.
- 10:04Yes. Yes, very impressed because he's
- 10:06not known as a starter but he led that that range from from
- 10:10gun to the lung. That would, that was a tricky
- 10:12are goes on, a great job with him and it'll clear enough some
- 10:15frontside stuff with him but like that was impressive.
- 10:18Yeah, I'm gonna go home and give my girl to eat the digs a shout
- 10:21out for a 714 you know, 36 1 double you know tying the great
- 10:26said, the kids 300 meter Mark. So Yeah.
- 10:31I mean I am I right in assuming that by the time she's done with
- 10:36her collegiate career, she's gonna have some pretty hot marks
- 10:38from the 60, all the way up to the for.
- 10:40I mean, is that, is it? I mean, they're already pretty
- 10:43hot meat. Yeah. 71-67. 1411 2422.
- 10:53Yeah, that's pretty good. Yeah.
- 10:59Yeah. So, she's pretty locked in. 778
- 11:06right now to get in in the men's hurdles.
- 11:09I mean that's that's decent but I think that's because the
- 11:13hurdles is such a rhythm event that it's 778 already.
- 11:17It's going to take 72. Yeah, I'll take something to eat
- 11:22sheesh. Yeah, 60 though.
- 11:27I remember last year, I had y'all on 60 watch every week,
- 11:30and I'm gonna keep doing it this year, but we're already a 663,
- 11:34and there's a bunch of people who haven't run yet.
- 11:37Yeah. It's, um, that's what I'm
- 11:38saying. Like, there's like, like, what's
- 11:40a good for estate kid's name? The one that was started off
- 11:45with another 100 last year? JoJo.
- 11:50Yeah, your Market? Yes, he hasn't won yet.
- 11:54Yeah, he's a 994 do so, you know, he can run other things
- 12:03like man. Hot.
- 12:45Back this weekend and there's a plethora of great cook teams and
- 12:50athletes going there. And so next week, when we'll
- 12:53have attractants back segment, that might take the whole show,
- 12:56just the racerback itself. Yeah, and I'm hearing that New
- 13:02Mexico is going to be off the rails next week, two weeks ago
- 13:08that this coming week about the following week to week two weeks
- 13:10from now. Yeah, to be yeah, Don Kirby.
- 13:14So the same we gonna do Same weekend, the same weekend is
- 13:16Tyson or the week in between. Yeah, February 10th weekend.
- 13:19February, 10 stations supposed to be off the rails as well.
- 13:23So mean Tyson is upside down competition of an aisle.
- 13:47I really didn't pay attention to it.
- 13:51Other than 784, it was. All right not as a shot.
- 13:57I just mean like it wasn't like let's we've talked about this
- 14:01before like protract is indoors is so spotty in a year without a
- 14:06championship because it's like literally a choice I think half
- 14:11the people that were on the run because they're bored which I
- 14:13get Chuck Anita shaders through the world lead.
- 14:18Last week in there 21:20 and it looked like a training for
- 14:22mm-hmm. Yeah.
- 14:35Yeah yeah. Yeah.
- 15:31Yeah, they are, they're providing the link between Cliff
- 15:34around for someone to do this, like exactly $100 per link,
- 15:47great as good as this as a great living.
- 15:51If you can, if you can do it, they can do it, okay?
- 16:32To try to get things done, encourage or exactly
- 16:57question to ask. Yeah we're sure.
- 17:02So is the world lead in the women's hurdles listed as the
- 17:08actual Mark or the altitude of Justice mark.
- 17:12But that's not the actual mark because it wasn't.
- 17:20But but I think it's hilarious because if it were listed and
- 17:24you don't know, no better. This is how ridiculous are for
- 17:27it is if you don't know, no better.
- 17:29You would look at that and be like we're one of these is
- 17:31wrong, right? Because it will be listed on the
- 17:33World list as the actual Mark, but is this an onion CAA into
- 17:38the playlist? Okin Julian Alfred 702 is number
- 17:45one on the list. Yes it is.
- 17:48It is there as 702 how stood because that meat was in Mexico.
- 17:54Did the work? Yeah that's a good skill.
- 17:56Paid a honey. Got the memo think about.
- 18:00I just told you who was the big charge behind this Texas.
- 18:45Okay, so like Jasmine. That somehow the five of us were
- 19:02six months ahead of the rest of the country.
- 19:04When we're talking about this, yes months ago.
- 19:09So true story, throwing conversations under the bus this
- 19:13morning people are up in arms in our group chat and I didn't
- 19:17respond. I was like I'm just not they're
- 19:19going to get to their they're going to get there sooner or
- 19:20later. I'm going.
- 19:21They're going to get their there and Figure out and I'm like, I'm
- 19:23not getting there fast enough and so, literally write like a
- 19:26three-page letter stating everything that's been conversed
- 19:30about here and I'm like, do you care?
- 19:34Not care. Like what?
- 19:36And I'm like, it's the TCU invite on March 17.
- 19:40I mean now I will say for $100, sure will care.
- 19:46Yes. But for the Thousand, I'm sorry,
- 19:50no two poles. All national championships after
- 20:13the deadline. Oh my gosh, the whole reason
- 20:17this window is open is because, are you ready for this RE USA
- 20:24indoors. USA Outdoors were not on the
- 20:29list. So swing mr.
- 20:32Huck mr. Roll house.
- 20:34I mean, are we supposed to be disclosing this information and
- 20:37we don't care. I told you, I choose violence.
- 20:40Yeah. Baseball look.
- 20:43We were having this conversation at the annual meeting because
- 20:48the reason it was relevant to me.
- 20:50The whole reason I was at the annual meeting was the combined
- 20:53events, because there was not a combined event on the global
- 20:58challenge. Wow, on this side of the world.
- 21:02Wow, Now they're lobbying for to, right?
- 21:06And now they now they have now Mount Sac is USA's is yeah and
- 21:15look given what given what we just found out about flow, you
- 21:17know, Texas relays is, you know, it And will flutter isn't Tom
- 21:22Jones, White, none of those meets.
- 21:29None of those meats by the letter of the law should have
- 21:33been allowed on the calendar until next year next year, but
- 21:37because there were no us meets on the couch.
- 21:42So, who dropped the ball? Everybody listed the question.
- 21:58I don't mean to Gainesville me, we know here's the thing.
- 22:02Like, are we in a situation now, like, where things are happening
- 22:06in real time, so, everybody threw their arms up two weeks
- 22:11ago. Are we getting these?
- 22:14Now, these meats being put on the list because of that, is it?
- 22:17That are we that deep into this mess?
- 22:21Yes. Are now opening the window up
- 22:23again. Yes.
- 22:25Because see, listen, Look look. We've said this is what's not?
- 22:28We've said this a bunch of times but I'm going to say it one time
- 22:30clearly so everybody who watches our show can hear it.
- 22:34World Athletics is only concerned with the Optics of
- 22:37things. Mmm.
- 22:39So when they're getting trashed on the worldwide internet.
- 22:42Yeah, for having the fastest marks in the world, not be
- 22:46listed on their world Athletics list.
- 22:50How do we fix this seamlessly? Yep, Bob's your uncle.
- 22:55Right? Because now, because now if your
- 22:57marks not on the list, right? Just cause you're not in
- 23:00compliance, we've given you the opportunity to be in compliance
- 23:04to put your Meats on there. So now it's not our fault,
- 23:06right, which imp, and basically, that was the gist of the email,
- 23:11we all got like we need to get this done.
- 23:15He has to be honored Listen to. So do you.
- 23:37So do you put this information in your your home, meet
- 23:40information. Now like was very seriously.
- 23:50After like Matt Downs at Arkansas, is one of the best 2D
- 23:56Ops on the planet. So when you get the information
- 23:59from him I'll share the meat information with you guys
- 24:01tomorrow. Like it is very detailed who
- 24:05where when what, why? And oh, by the way, we are in
- 24:09compliance with the world of the letter.
- 24:12That I keep covers, everything he tells you what's going to
- 24:16happen, What would happen if you didn't do it, he tell ya.
- 24:19He goes as far as As to tell you that the officials will let you
- 24:24know, if you would have been disqualified by Ward athletic
- 24:28rules. But not because he said it's
- 24:32going to be And these dudes were just going
- 25:02on and on, and on and pontificating about, you know,
- 25:05about exactly what we talked about five months ago.
- 25:07Hmm, you know, these marks aren't on the list and, you
- 25:11know, the meat directors have been lazy and not done their
- 25:14paperwork and I'm like, you're not even saying the truth, but
- 25:16okay. Well hey look, you know what,
- 25:19welcome to the party. Everybody somebody's got to be
- 25:23in. You to what we, what do we want
- 25:25to pro football now? Yeah, the musings of how the
- 25:29Giants got drilled last week. Oh, I'm sorry, did I say that
- 25:31out loud? I see, you know, I'm always up
- 25:37for this if we're choosing violence, let's get negative
- 25:46negative. Look, I live in and yes there
- 25:54were definitely some people who came for me on Saturday because
- 25:57my Giants lost. I was like you know, unlike most
- 26:01of y'all will be tomorrow because I predicted this
- 26:03nonsense that happened, I was like I'm not upset because my
- 26:07team's roster doesn't belong in the playoffs and it was a good
- 26:12run. There's only one way we can win.
- 26:13I've said this like 10 times we didn't do that and we got
- 26:17thrashed. Act.
- 26:20But we're on the up Arrow, right?
- 26:22The very next day, the Cowboys, my shocked face lose to a better
- 26:28roster. It shouldn't have been a big
- 26:30deal, right? Like look, we just need to do
- 26:33this in that, get better and we'll take him down next year
- 26:36but that's not the narrative. Because as soon as the Cowboys
- 26:39win, two games in a row, they're going to be Super Bowl champs.
- 26:42So then, of course, the Fallout the following day is now we got
- 26:45to explain why we're not going to be super, get Super Bowl
- 26:47champs. And we got all Point the
- 26:49fingers. So now let's see.
- 26:51We need a new coach because Mike McCarthy is trash.
- 26:55All of a sudden Keller's not a good play, classic matter up the
- 26:58national question. Yeah.
- 27:00Is this the NFL playoffs segment or just the Dallas Cowboys
- 27:02trashed it? Yes, although sir you started
- 27:12this, you know, with the Giants See how much easier that was
- 27:44need to be easy. Yeah, I could make it easy but I
- 27:49won't. So that's what the end of the
- 27:53day. Okay, look Cowboys lost and we
- 27:56knew they were gonna lose and you know I look I'll be the
- 28:00first one to tell you I was pulling for him.
- 28:02I was I gave you guys my reasons why you want to be going to that
- 28:06but at the end of the day that I think they were going to beat, I
- 28:08was shocked and game. Was that close?
- 28:10I was yeah. I think you know if you if
- 28:13you're a true fan of football there's no way you got the
- 28:16Cowboys were holding 19 ones. No way.
- 28:19Yeah. No chance.
- 28:20You know but then you know you go to the other games you know
- 28:24the Chiefs got issues with my homies can't play, they got
- 28:27issues. Yeah they got it, they got
- 28:29issues. If he can't play you know the
- 28:31Eagles were clearly the best team on that field, you know?
- 28:35And the Cincinnati Bengals angles.
- 28:39Boy, I cannot wait. Wait for this weekend, man.
- 28:47Listen, that that performance in those conditions.
- 28:53I mean, look, that that take, maybe even every facet of the
- 28:57game, did every sing like, can they, protect, can they protect
- 29:02jobber? Oh, they've got three offensive
- 29:04linemen out, all this stuff. Whoo.
- 29:07I didn't touch him. They did not touch him.
- 29:11You know what, two teams in the NFL, refuse to change the DNA,
- 29:15to matter, who's playing on the team, the bills and the
- 29:18Chargers? Yeah, they are who they are?
- 29:21Yeah. Yeah, if I may, please do that
- 29:26was a lie for you sir. I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend
- 29:33of a bitch, you did, but to the bills issue.
- 29:40Coaching matters and the the say, the New York football
- 29:47Giants with a limited roster. Maybe teeth that's nice.
- 29:55Limited roster made it as far as they did because of coaching
- 30:01100%. Yeah, the Buffalo Bills cooking
- 30:04job in in the league. Absolutely, Buffalo Bills are
- 30:07aware that coats came from and they Desperately miss that, man.
- 30:12Yep, Josh Allen desperately misses that man.
- 30:17It's not a good. It's not good moving for it.
- 30:20Joshua Allen is awesome. He's amazing talent.
- 30:22But without day ball, It's been a mess.
- 30:27Yeah and I don't really see it getting much better.
- 30:31The fact that borough has emerged is a big, big problem.
- 30:35Yeah. Cincinnati phenomenal game.
- 30:40I don't remember the professional commentator but he
- 30:43who said this but he hit it right on the head.
- 30:45He's like Cincinnati was playing offense and buffalo was just
- 30:48calling place. Like you just didn't make any
- 30:51sense with her just as true. Want to make any sense.
- 30:57Help me with this. You are the Buffalo Bills,
- 31:01right? And and you do all the things
- 31:03you do to put together your roster to to have home-field
- 31:07Advantage, right? Then you then you get to play in
- 31:10a snowstorm in Buffalo. Whether yes, you have white Cam
- 31:14Newton as your quarterback and you don't run him.
- 31:17Yes. Best athlete or field.
- 31:20Yes, drop back and Chuck it in the snow like hey, they make so
- 31:24much sense. Alan would have been icing up
- 31:27still, because I would have still been calling run place for
- 31:29him. Absolutely, you know, that that
- 31:32game was irritating but entertaining to watch, you know,
- 31:38I thought Jacksonville was Valiant, you know, they gave it
- 31:41a good run over, they were happy to be the Cowboys.
- 31:49I'm not talking about that other side of the boat Cowboys defense
- 31:53and the Jaguars as a whole were the most The things I saw the
- 31:57county. They were both very valued.
- 31:59As you say, Cowboys defense played an elite game, they did
- 32:04absolutely. Here's the problem.
- 32:05There's certain things in sport, they're just true.
- 32:08The Clippers are going to clip. Cowboys are going to Cowboy and
- 32:12Dak ain't good enough. It just is what it is.
- 32:18It's been eight years, Cowboy Nation, not the governor, Cowboy
- 32:23Nation needs to accept reality. E the boy ain't good enough
- 32:30because he hears the reality of it.
- 32:31You know you can't. It's very rarely.
- 32:35Can you win the big one without an elite quarterback?
- 32:38It's happened one occasion. Yes.
- 32:40But you know, to quote my man, Daryl and it's and he has to
- 32:42least be serviceable, right? That's not even so.
- 32:45So I mean he's a nice enough guy, he says the right things.
- 32:53Right now, he's not even serviceable, you can't win with
- 32:56that kind of quarterback like makes.
- 32:57Okay, let's let's close the for call it.
- 32:59What it listening called, hundreds today?
- 33:01Talk about how they need more weapons around deck.
- 33:05No, I was like what's left when the score was 929.
- 33:11Okay, what do, what else do you need to understand that managed
- 33:17the game. Don't shoot yourself in the foot
- 33:21that boy through a game in. Adding pick-six that was
- 33:24dropped. Look, man, like the throw the
- 33:28Gallup girl literally stops in his tracks and just Waits there
- 33:34like, you're playing against one of the best defenses in the, in
- 33:39the NFL. Don't just, you know, going to
- 33:43okay. The dude is right there.
- 33:44You can't feeling that that interception to me.
- 33:49I was just like, okay, For one little friend.
- 33:52So those are the those of you don't understand what you just
- 33:56witnessed in. The last 30 seconds is the
- 33:58frustration of what Dallas Cowboys.
- 34:02He wants to jump off a bridge because he's frustrated, like I
- 34:08said, you know, the Dallas Dallas has some Elite Talent on
- 34:11that on that team, no doubt there.
- 34:13But I question their coaching strategies and I definitely will
- 34:18always questioned the quarterback play because that
- 34:20back like not trying to trash the guy, but you're trying to
- 34:24win a Super. I don't think he's the guy.
- 34:25I just no, no. It's it's very difficult to win
- 34:31high level playoff games or a Super Bowl with a quarterback
- 34:36that needs things, right? Like that, you can win football
- 34:42games with that mean we did this year the Giants that this year
- 34:45with Daniel Jones, right? Yeah, let's be clear.
- 34:47He's not good enough for us to win a Super Bowl but we're not
- 34:50in a Football conversation either, right?
- 34:52And we're about to pay him more money than we should because we
- 34:55don't have a choice. We're stuck in the middle.
- 34:57But when you pay somebody like Dak Super Superman, quarterback
- 35:05money. Yeah.
- 35:07The expectations come with it and the unfortunate part is like
- 35:11everybody else in his pay class. Has shown Championship medal,
- 35:19almost them and see that. That's what was so funny about
- 35:22this when the whole drama because it played out for a
- 35:26while, right of pay Dak, right? I used to have these arguments
- 35:31daily. I'm like I don't like the
- 35:33Cowboys. I want them to pay that so I can
- 35:38keep laughing at this. You people love your team.
- 35:43Why do you want him to get 40 million dollars and half of them
- 35:47straight up? They were rooting for the black
- 35:50thing and I get it like I get that.
- 35:53We want to see the black guys do well playing QB but he's not
- 35:57that guy. You pay my homes.
- 36:00You pay Russ, maybe. Not now people deserve to be
- 36:03paid, right? Like he was never that guy.
- 36:07If you would pay to classify, what he's worth, your team using
- 36:10better Dallas does with the Cowboys do, and they do silly.
- 36:14Stop right now. You trade one guy and you give
- 36:19away for one guy to give away a people that was that was that
- 36:22was right like that kind of like the end of the day.
- 36:25I mean, they are who they are, but I who we got this weekend,
- 36:28like who's going to say, Going into.
- 36:30All right. Coming out of the weekend.
- 36:34It's 90's evil Bangles cheese. Cincinnati San Francisco.
- 36:39Cincinnati and the Eagles Cincinnati and the Eagles.
- 36:45Also, you're all on the Bengals. Yeah.
- 37:33You are, you are on the phone.
- 37:54We had this exact same discussion about the Bengals,
- 37:57and the Chiefs, a year ago, it was.
- 37:59And I've yet to hear, I've yet to hear me.
- 38:08So what's the next topic to because Chuck an argument, this
- 38:14will be great. All right, so limping or not the
- 38:17Chiefs going down, they could they couldn't be just one.
- 38:26Okay. So another, the other fun email
- 38:29that came out last week or Paula email It wasn't an email, we
- 38:34talked about it in compliance meetings, this week there is a
- 38:38new coaching limitation legislation that is passed and
- 38:42is effective July, 1, specifically track and field
- 38:47will no longer have volunteer coaches and each staff can have
- 38:52a now. I knew Lee, I don't want to say
- 38:55new a paid coach in place of those volunteer coaches.
- 38:58So the eligibility is up 2614 every season / gender.
- 39:04But it has to be university-sponsored.
- 39:08You can't pay coach Smith out the back pocket.
- 39:12It has to be a university-sponsored position.
- 39:15Yes, sir. One of clarity.
- 39:19As I was my understanding is. You don't have to pay these
- 39:26people. Now you just can't can write,
- 39:30it's not that you can't have all the tears anymore.
- 39:33The exactly. But you can now pay them so
- 39:36because it's also think about it like this, right?
- 39:39Done is taken the onus off of that because before you can have
- 39:43these additional six coaches but they had to be volunteers.
- 39:46So what are you doing? You now restricting people's
- 39:49earnings. Again, that's right, right.
- 39:51So now they're saying, You can have the volunteers if you want,
- 39:55but you can also pay the up two additional six coaches.
- 39:59Yep, that's right. So, the other point of clarity
- 40:02is, are we sure that that is that, that is the actual legal
- 40:09ramifications, in track. Because I know that's not the
- 40:11word. That's not the Virgin baseball,
- 40:13like, literally, right in the different.
- 40:14It's different in baseball, okay?
- 40:15So that's why I was asking like, I don't know, but I can tell you
- 40:18when baseball, they have eliminated, the volunteer
- 40:20position, right? Used to be repaid and one Vale
- 40:23Now, they have for paid and know what's easier to say, it's
- 40:26easier to eliminate in baseball because they only had one bad.
- 40:31Yes. So, so that so you can eliminate
- 40:34them all in track because UK and this leads to my point.
- 40:38There is no one who is getting six additional coaches.
- 40:43Yeah. What can you do with 12 coaches?
- 40:44Anyway. Yeah.
- 40:46Is that, let's just start right there.
- 40:49Let me throw this because I know you have important info for us.
- 40:53Clarification. Okay, if anyone's going to find
- 40:57out what you can do, it's going to be in Gainesville.
- 41:01How many applications you've had this week?
- 41:05I mean, he's not wrong, he's like because I have to have
- 41:11something posted the application, so he's wrong.
- 41:14So anyway, so so let's, so let's just, let's just think about it
- 41:17like this and you know, and so, you know, I have a one of my
- 41:21ideas who tells me understand stuff.
- 41:23In a situation like this, right? So if you give the people the
- 41:27baseball's in the softballs they get one, right?
- 41:31And then let's say you give everybody else they can have
- 41:34more than two to, right? That's almost two million
- 41:39dollars a year, mmm, and extra extra money.
- 41:42Nobody's getting six track coaches, folks, just not gonna
- 41:45happen. You know, most might be honest
- 41:48with you, some people are lucky to get one or two.
- 41:51All right, so this is because you just can't look at.
- 41:54Okay, I'm gonna okay and that's if the one point is like one
- 41:57point six to two million dollars.
- 41:59If everybody gets paid forty five thousand dollar man, that's
- 42:03it forty five thousand dollars. It's almost benefits or
- 42:06expensive for entry level positions best benefit benefit
- 42:10of their all entry level positions.
- 42:12It's going to cost the university, another two million
- 42:14dollars not getting on. So so mean it is It's a
- 42:19Wonderful class problems. It is exactly.
- 42:23As I say, I don't feel like that's the first class that
- 42:25sounds so much that I'll here's what I'll say.
- 42:29I don't know if anybody's going to get to 12.
- 42:31I doubt it, but I will say this, though, I have some, I have some
- 42:34there will definitely be a snare going to be a staff or two or
- 42:38three in the SEC that will have the most whatever that number is
- 42:44whether it's ten, eleven nine, whatever it is.
- 42:48Here's what I'm gonna say. I'm gonna go out on a limb and
- 42:50say this, Yes, I'm gonna say that the number will be 8 to 9
- 42:56I've see that coming even 10, 11 12.
- 42:59First of all, I couldn't what am I doing with her?
- 43:01But I need to see the coach, the Mi coche, the 10K, coach whole
- 43:15wall Coast coach coached the women's pole vault coat.
- 43:21Ouch you see row house and I had this discussion about six weeks
- 43:25ago now there's a position that will get filled.
- 43:29Hmm. You know you know like they like
- 43:32the single-gender staff will now if Come a single gender stat.
- 43:38You got and we dealt with this, right?
- 43:40Governor would have you got one field of in coach trying to
- 43:43coach everything. So now there's going to be a God
- 43:46that's throws sin and God that's jump Center that will happen in
- 43:50the single-gender program. You know, there would be in a
- 43:54duel gender program. That would be somebody that's
- 43:56dedicated solely to the Polo. Yeah.
- 43:58But it's still that's still never get me an attending,
- 44:01right? There's no need for it, right?
- 44:04But I got okay, how many volunteers Tear coaches are
- 44:07really coaching. This is true.
- 44:10Unless it's the popo. How many people how many were
- 44:13really gorgeous? I could justify 10, but two of
- 44:17those coaches are, literally not coaching anybody to of those
- 44:21coaches. Are there.
- 44:23Not even glorified they are recruiting coordinators, like,
- 44:26literally, your job is to recruit.
- 44:28Yes, but that's right, but let's be clear.
- 44:30It's for some people. It's not even going to be about
- 44:34the coaching. It's going to be about.
- 44:36Out the label what I can go work at Oregon.
- 44:39Now I can go work at tambu. Now, I can go work at Florida.
- 44:44Now doesn't matter if I have to hold Mouse to stop watching,
- 44:46bring him some water. I'm getting paid sixty thousand
- 44:49dollars a year to bring some water.
- 44:51I don't disagree with that but I don't think the positions are
- 44:55going to be available. That's my point.
- 44:57Yeah, I add. There's no world.
- 44:59I'm expecting my 82 come in. Hey, you can hire for more
- 45:01coaches. So I see I see this situation.
- 45:06Ting Arkansas. Yeah.
- 45:09No, please, I don't know he's gonna name teams because I
- 45:12definitely got a list. I mean, it's, I mean, I just
- 45:15gave you five of them. That is clear.
- 45:18Okay, so here's the thing. See, I'm going to say what the
- 45:22governor's about to say, like, it helps the single-gender
- 45:26program. Yes, they're the ones that need
- 45:29the help. Yes, there's not a lot of other,
- 45:32okay. There's a guy there.
- 45:38Coaching the Thrones as a volunteer.
- 45:40That's pretty good your auntie. He's on staff next year.
- 45:44Yep. Right on July 1.
- 45:46He'll get named as a full time coach, right?
- 45:50You don't know. And then on the right, you don't
- 45:53think Chris Johnson's. Going like how I got it.
- 45:58Got it. All he does is the povel.
- 46:00Not who I can find somebody to coach the throws.
- 46:03Yeah. Exactly.
- 46:06Right. This idea came to me, I don't
- 46:11think they'll be a lot of this out there in the world, but I
- 46:14think I think it's an interesting opportunity as a
- 46:17person that used to be in these type of positions, right.
- 46:21If this was a couple years ago and I had an athlete, you know,
- 46:28training at my place like a Jacqueline coward who's Elite
- 46:34but not on contract. Now, I can hire them, and make
- 46:38sure that they can eat. And I mean, if you have that's
- 46:42happening and that will happen on some campuses, for sure, the
- 46:47the athletes, who are hanging around train can get jobs.
- 46:53Yeah, that's that's another curious one because, I mean,
- 46:56have have any administrators talked about whether or not
- 47:00those athletes will be allowed to stay stay on as volunteers.
- 47:05I mean, I think you Began to clear that up.
- 47:07I just wanted to get some clarity on that so you can see
- 47:11that the volunteer position disappears.
- 47:14No. Okay.
- 47:16I understand that's the first thing I asked.
- 47:18Yeah, I have some volunteers and I'm like to be clear.
- 47:21Yeah, I have to pay these people because somebody better run me
- 47:25some more money. Think about it like this.
- 47:28Okay? So this all comes about because
- 47:30the NCAA says you can have these people but you can't pay them.
- 47:32So now they're restricting their earnings, right?
- 47:35So now If you tell them like, you have to go away, you know,
- 47:39it's just, it's just another can of worms over them.
- 47:42So now the onus falls on the University.
- 47:44Like, you can have six volunteers?
- 47:46No, but I'm not about that. Nobody's telling you, you can't
- 47:49pay them, okay? And for a lot of people, let's
- 47:52be real for a lot of others. A lot of programs that have used
- 47:55that as an excuse for a long time.
- 47:56I ate, man, I just can't do it now.
- 47:59It's like, oh, you can you just won't do it and that'll be glad
- 48:03to be interesting, right? Because I think about like this,
- 48:05we talked about About the first world problems, right?
- 48:09How many people out there? Can really afford to pay two
- 48:12more coaches. Yeah.
- 48:14Oh the vast majority. Cannot cannot absolutely.
- 48:17No no. And when I say, present in the
- 48:20vast, majority of power, five schools, cannot again, all this
- 48:25does is allow people to have a little money to pay more to more
- 48:28coaches. But there's not going to be
- 48:30these huge staffs of 12, people walking around and as I'm going
- 48:34to be this plethora of opportunities, These four people
- 48:36out there to get these jobs and people are imagining, it's just
- 48:39not going to happen because we're with these things comes
- 48:42money and that to 1.5 to 2 million dollars a year that's
- 48:46just not an easy driving the bucket.
- 48:48Well sir lucious you will not convince me that posting or
- 48:51unposted. You ain't going to have 100
- 48:55applications in your inbox. I'm sure that after people see
- 48:59the show tonight. This team will because you
- 49:02can't. Oh absolutely.
- 49:05Please sit Send all email, email, don't even send them to
- 49:09the op, send them directly to the man.
- 49:19They only can be operation.
- 49:36They cannot function on the track in that type of manner.
- 49:42I don't think that's true. Yeah, about that.
- 49:47That's so that because I was you know, what?
- 49:56I was told still have six volunteer, coaches interests,
- 50:03cannot. You just cannot be legislated
- 50:08that you can't pay them. Yeah, right this is now the
- 50:12freedom to pay. You don't even pay them.
- 50:15So so the whole thing is just saying the ncaa's, not telling
- 50:18you what you can't do pay wise. You can still have up to 12
- 50:21coaches and you can pay as many of those as you wish.
- 50:25The NCAA doesn't pick any really coming at them.
- 50:28Talking about what they can and can't do like no, no Florida
- 50:31said they can't pay. You don't talk to us.
- 50:38Is that you heard something, right?
- 50:42That was almost The same thing that Solutions heard.
- 50:48You understand what I'm saying? Oh yeah.
- 50:50Interpretations. And exactly.
- 50:53Okay, compliance. Some of our alliances, some
- 51:00compliance offices are can do some compliance offices aren't
- 51:06won't. Do won't do you think about like
- 51:09this to like you just look at the way structure.
- 51:12Like I said, baseball. It was easy, right?
- 51:16The volunteer coach goes away because the only had one so now
- 51:19you can have an extra staff person you've been so you can't
- 51:21have volunteers tracks tricky because we had six.
- 51:25Yep. And there's no way that anybody
- 51:27is going to say the volunteers have to go away because then now
- 51:32you're limiting opportunities because they realized that
- 51:36everybody cannot and will not pay six coaches.
- 51:40So sir Lucius this this is a and this is the Side conversation is
- 51:45being had because if if the terminology and the legislation
- 51:50was saying that these volunteer positions go away what I
- 51:54experienced at Florida and Florida State those six years of
- 51:59being in the trenches and being guided and being mentored and
- 52:04shown. Okay, this is what it takes.
- 52:07Now, you are literally killing the coaching.
- 52:10Profession has any young coach. That is looking to get into the
- 52:16business and has an opportunity to volunteer.
- 52:20I'll be the first person. Hey man, get over there.
- 52:24Alright, and start at the bottom and learn about how this
- 52:28profession works, you know, and the thing to get your hands
- 52:31dirty. Exactly exactly.
- 52:33So I'm glad that we've cleared that up because it needs to be
- 52:38needs to be said that the mentorship the Teaching aspect
- 52:44of it up. The the first hand learning has
- 52:48to continue if we're going to continue to bring young coaches
- 52:53up in this business. Was anybody else the example in
- 53:01their compliance reading? Because we were definitely the
- 53:03example. I'm only positive examples in my
- 53:09meetings. This well though, I will say
- 53:17that there are many rules coming out from the transformation
- 53:21committee that are hilarious. I mean, wait, wait, wait till
- 53:27everybody gets a whiff. Of this 25% of teams in the
- 53:30basketball tournament thing coming.
- 53:33That's why. Anyways so my gosh, all right,
- 53:37last question, it's wordy so I'll read it with flow
- 53:41hopefully. Why is it that we hear female
- 53:45coaches belaboring the point that more female coaches need to
- 53:49be higher? But when a female hope why
- 53:53female gets a head coach position she hires mostly men So
- 54:02I think the very Petty question, this is a very pretty picture,
- 54:05but it, but it but it's a really good segue from where we just
- 54:08came from. Right because in theory now we
- 54:11have a really easy way to bring more females into coaching and
- 54:17Gary. It's definitely in theory,
- 54:20right? But in theory now we have really
- 54:23the answer to fix the problem because I think the answer to
- 54:27the question. In a lot of times is people want
- 54:34to win. Usually you win with more
- 54:36experienced coaches and there are fewer and fewer experienced
- 54:44and talented female coaches to actually apply for those
- 54:49positions because the ones who have some skin in the game,
- 54:56pretty much are all head coaches now, Now.
- 54:59And or don't want to be right? And then the ones who don't Are
- 55:07all like are entry level positions, in which case.
- 55:12I don't know that they like if you take over a program because
- 55:15in like, if someone was fired in the night, now you're hired to
- 55:18take over a program. You're probably not starting
- 55:20with the entry level people. Right.
- 55:23So look. I I agree that it's it's one of
- 55:29those. Conundrums that I don't know
- 55:34that there's a clean viable answer to look.
- 55:38I know as an African-American when I was hired as a head coach
- 55:41at Cal immediately, I was, you know, behind closed doors
- 55:45expected to have a staff of five other black people and I was
- 55:48like, I don't get that. Okay, so that's exactly where I
- 55:51was gonna go with this. It's a petty question.
- 55:54I'm going to give a give a petit anse.
- 55:57Listen it. It's absolutely a numbers game.
- 56:03Period. Absolutely a numbers game.
- 56:07That's the easy and truthful and direct way to answer that if you
- 56:13want to delve into the pettiness of it, and I'm not saying I
- 56:17agree with this. I actually totally disagree with
- 56:20this. But it's just true that
- 56:23minorities suffer from ill perceived Notions of what it
- 56:31would mean. So you're not going to get a
- 56:34woman to gets director of track and field at Place X.
- 56:40Choose not going to sit there and hire Six Women under her.
- 56:46Because the perception of that is that it's weird or it's
- 56:51wrong. It would just not go down that
- 56:55way. Black coach X rarely has a staff
- 56:59of all black coaches. We see white men and women have
- 57:04nothing but all white staffs that happens.
- 57:07That happens a lot at very prominent places that happens
- 57:10all the time. It's happened systematically for
- 57:12a long time, right? But that's the perception of
- 57:17what's quote-unquote, normal. So, when you get a minority in
- 57:22this position, a person of color, especially the double
- 57:26triple minority of the woman. Your it would be.
- 57:31So out of normal for that woman to step in there and hire a
- 57:37majority female staff just a majority female staff.
- 57:40Rarely often you barely see them, higher one, other female.
- 57:46And it's, I think it's from a Sub, Conscious perception, of
- 57:53what Norm should be. I would love to see it.
- 57:57If I'm ever in a position where I had multiple quality
- 58:01candidates at positions, I needed, I'd love to hire nothing
- 58:04but women you know, to a staff that I was running.
- 58:08But to LaMar's Point how many quality candidates are there
- 58:13across the events across The Spectrum.
- 58:17It's hard to find. It's a numbers game.
- 58:18It absolutely is. But I do think that there's a
- 58:21subconscious perception of what that would look like, and I
- 58:25think most people are just feet, scared to death to do it.
- 58:34For me, I think it's more about if I'm hired at a major power 5,
- 58:41University of my, I'm hired to win.
- 58:43And so I'm going to go out and find the coaches who have been
- 58:48proven winners. And I'm not trying to be sexist
- 58:51here at all, but there's not a pleasure of women coaches out
- 58:54there that have proven that they have performed at the highest
- 58:57level because mostly people that are performing at that level
- 59:00have a good jobs already. So the industry is rowhouse said
- 59:06the talent pool is not as deep and if you're charged to win you
- 59:10can't hire your staff based on people because you think they
- 59:13look like you or because you want people people to look a
- 59:17certain way. You have to hire people that you
- 59:19think can help you win and be successful.
- 59:21And that's what happens in the situation.
- 59:24I think it's pretty simple. No I got this out of not going
- 59:26female coaches. I've been saying this for years
- 59:31that if we want more, Email coaches, we need to have more
- 59:33candidates by that. I mean, people that are
- 59:35absolutely in the field getting their hands dirty and lurch.
- 59:43It's the the when I did my masters in sports management at
- 59:53Florida State, you know, one of the things that was, you know,
- 59:56one of the hot topics and still is was Title 9.
- 59:59And and even back, then there were talking about how at, you
- 1:00:07know, Title Nine was designed to increase the amount of female
- 1:00:12coaches. In sports and the opposite has
- 1:00:16happened and the perception I think of what a coach should be
- 1:00:25and how a coach should conduct his or herself and the idea of
- 1:00:30winning and all of that, I think it's Jeff definitely skewed to
- 1:00:35one side and the coaches that have enjoyed success year after
- 1:00:41year, after year, after year. Are often mail coaches.
- 1:00:46And, you know, I think a lot of this has to do with perceived
- 1:00:52success, right? I mean, at the end of the day,
- 1:00:56if you're trying to win, you are trying to go out and hire
- 1:00:59winners. You're trying to go out and hire
- 1:01:02folks with proven records and this is this is where we're at.
- 1:01:08I mean, if you look at NCAA division, one Athletics their
- 1:01:12280, III male head, coaches, and their 64 female head coaches in
- 1:01:20the NCAA. And that's crazy in it, and it's
- 1:01:25the same same subsection from cross country as well.
- 1:01:31So that in itself, I mean, and I, all, and also say this what
- 1:01:37it takes, To be a successful coach in the NCAA is, you know,
- 1:01:45like it's a very difficult job to do.
- 1:01:49It is a very unforgiving job. There are there so many layers
- 1:01:54to it and I think I think when it bought when you, when you
- 1:01:59boil it down, like it is You know I mean I can only I can
- 1:02:05only go off what I'm seeing and what what the actions have been
- 1:02:11and what the practices have been of some of the most successful
- 1:02:14female coaches in our era. And it's the same thing.
- 1:02:19They're going after the best coach.
- 1:02:25They're not thinking I want to have or I want to be someone
- 1:02:30that breaks the mold. And that's why it's a petty
- 1:02:34question. Yeah.
- 1:02:35Because the spirit of it and I could be wrong.
- 1:02:38I'm sure I'll get a DMZ. Nah that's not what I meant the
- 1:02:41spirit of the question is this? These women talk a lot about
- 1:02:47uplifting women in the sport but when they're in the chair they
- 1:02:50don't drag these other women with them.
- 1:02:52No. Because when you get in the
- 1:02:54chair, you want to stay in the chair and you do exactly what
- 1:02:57everybody else in the chair. Does you try to find the best
- 1:02:59coaches available regardless of who they are?
- 1:03:01Yes, that's what everybody. Who's trying to wind us?
- 1:03:05Yes, though it's a petty ass question because it's why aren't
- 1:03:11you doing more for your people? The same way, it's Petty, when
- 1:03:15you throw that question to, to a minority race candidate, right?
- 1:03:19Like, stop it. It's a petty question.
- 1:03:23I appreciate the petty question but I'm not going to see here
- 1:03:27and and and throw shots at anybody who's trying to hire who
- 1:03:31they believe to be the best people for their jobs.
- 1:03:34Because it took a lot to get in that seat and you ain't trying
- 1:03:37to lose it to make a point. Don't make any sense along those
- 1:03:42lines when When vaguely becomes the heck that, you know, the
- 1:03:46head coach? Is she supposed to hire five
- 1:03:49minority, females, amazing women all, who are 55 Asian women?
- 1:03:54Yes, all of them. Oh goodness.
- 1:04:00Oh man. If I could give one thread of
- 1:04:04advice to this chop beyond the topics and points that you all
- 1:04:11made on this the other, the biggest one, That I know that
- 1:04:14everyone talks about in the hiring process is we only want
- 1:04:18to hire people that we know are going to be trustworthy and
- 1:04:22loyal and that supersedes the points that you all made, just
- 1:04:25out. And one of the common comments
- 1:04:30that are made at thereafter are there on to whole bunch of
- 1:04:33female coaches that we can trust, because they feel like
- 1:04:36they're out to get their jobs or female coaches are just there to
- 1:04:41supersede the, the line. Let's call it.
- 1:04:43Way. And from female to female
- 1:04:47comments are made about, you know, they're all just coming
- 1:04:51from my job or backstabbing or bad-mouthing at that as a
- 1:04:56up-and-coming female coach. We don't have to judge everyone
- 1:05:01that we see. Hmm, we don't have to make the
- 1:05:04comment of how they get that job or why are they there or what
- 1:05:07did they do that? I didn't do.
- 1:05:09It's uplifts move forward Embrace and learn there.
- 1:05:13Away because that could be your next PATH.
- 1:05:16So I know that's not the topic but I know that this is one of
- 1:05:20the bigger barriers that female coaches encounter is, we can't
- 1:05:25get ever get out of our own way and sometimes, so not to say
- 1:05:29that's isolated to the female species.
- 1:05:31Definitely happens to the male species just as often, if not
- 1:05:36the same. So but yeah, so one more nugget
- 1:05:40in there on top of that because I know I had one more pity
- 1:05:42coming Partners - not Petty look.
- 1:05:48Moving forward in coaching. We talk about mentors and
- 1:05:51mentees a lot, right? It's got to be okay for you to
- 1:05:55be a female coach and have a male Mentor.
- 1:05:59It can't just be females. It's also got to be okay to be a
- 1:06:03man. Be a male mentor and have a
- 1:06:05female mentee. Right?
- 1:06:08Like like it, like for whatever reason, the cross-gender
- 1:06:11mentor-mentee thing, almost seems taboo sometimes.
- 1:06:14And I'm kind of like to the point we've been all been making
- 1:06:18about those who have the most experience broad stroke and
- 1:06:21those who have the most success broad stroke, there are far more
- 1:06:25males in that category than females.
- 1:06:28So, if you want to learn from the best, right?
- 1:06:31It may be a female, but it may also very well be a male.
- 1:06:34And that's got to be okay. Right?
- 1:06:37You can't feel like you're being talked down to because someone
- 1:06:40is mentoring you. No, that's very true.
- 1:06:48I just again, the question suggests that when person X gets
- 1:06:52hired, the applicant, pool should all be coming from the,
- 1:06:56the women in coaching seminar at the convention.
- 1:06:57And that doesn't mean it doesn't make any sense at all.
- 1:07:04Oh my God. Oh my God.
- 1:07:06That was listen, that was a stroke of Genius right there.
- 1:07:09That was spectacular. What I do, baby.
- 1:07:12It's what I do. Anyways.
- 1:07:15See you too. So you got, you got your all
- 1:07:18Asian female applicant list. Prepared was on the hot seat.
- 1:07:31Oh, damn. All right, go ahead.
- 1:07:36All right. Would you rather have socks that
- 1:07:39don't fit or underwear? That doesn't fit.
- 1:07:42Oh my God. Certain people are laughing at
- 1:07:58this because I've literally lived through this recently.
- 1:08:02Oh my God, the answer is Is I would rather have socks that do
- 1:08:05not fit. Underwear thing is no good, no
- 1:08:09good at all. Oh my God.
- 1:08:12All right. Would you rather carry an
- 1:08:14umbrella? Rain suit.
- 1:08:19I umbrellas. I mean, I might start the day
- 1:08:23with one, but I'm not going into it with one.
- 1:08:25It's going to disappear somewhere Crocs or slides Crocks
- 1:08:31of trash slides are trashed. I don't want either one.
- 1:08:34Oh my God. This guy.
- 1:08:38But Crocs, have sport mode. The give me my case with semi
- 1:08:43trucks. I'm good.
- 1:08:45Oh the case with oh man the stories.
- 1:08:48These Swiss I like a Swiss baby boy.
- 1:08:51So side note, real quick first interaction with Clyde out of me
- 1:08:55in this man walks up in case with I meant granted, I don't
- 1:08:58know him yet like I know who he is but we don't know each other
- 1:09:00yet. He's wearing the case with and I
- 1:09:02was like, yeah. Yogurt, I guess you'll play
- 1:09:35Ray-Bans all day. Sorry, Lamar Oakley's are
- 1:09:40Oakley's. I feel like, are yours and
- 1:09:43that's it. I don't enjoy the Oakleys.
- 1:09:47I don't like how they fit that doesn't even sound like you.
- 1:09:50You don't usually like inferior products.
- 1:09:53They are. I mean right now, I'm in my Tom
- 1:09:56Ford's but I do have Ray Bans. I don't have any Oakley's.
- 1:10:01I haven't had Oakley since I was like 16 and we stolen from the
- 1:10:06governor we we have we have to sit him down and we will confer
- 1:10:15about This. All right.
- 1:10:17Last one hoodies our crew necks. I don't like crewnecks that all
- 1:10:25hoodies. All right.
- 1:10:28Gentlemen, the floor is yours. Ben Texas or Florida relays with
- 1:10:34it. Again 10 Texas or photorealists.
- 1:10:37Oh Florida not even close. It's not closed.
- 1:10:42I feel like that was a Pity. I put Drake above the other two.
- 1:10:49Oh wow. Okay shot fired I like it.
- 1:10:56Texas relays socially, do. Pain.
- 1:11:04Okay. I got to find a good one for
- 1:11:11chat. Got to find a good will for
- 1:11:14clack, let me think now um, All right.
- 1:11:30The Jeopardy music. D 2 position.
- 1:11:44Okay, I think you cut out, it was very low.
- 1:11:47I think what you ask is what I take the top NAIA position or
- 1:11:50the top D2 position, yes. D2 all day.
- 1:11:54I'm a product of the vision to my first head coaching job was
- 1:11:57in division. Two, I love division two.
- 1:12:00I don't. I barely know what the NAIA is.
- 1:12:03To be honest with. You feels very You'll be
- 1:12:33okay. You are commissioner for a day
- 1:12:38of what Sleek I'm going to tell you.
- 1:12:40Okay, your beloved Pac-12. Roof.
- 1:12:44Oh You get three moves to save it and save it permanently.
- 1:12:50What are they? You mean?
- 1:12:52Like bring people in moves, any three moves?
- 1:12:56Well, one firing everybody that they just fired was probably a
- 1:13:00good start. Wow.
- 1:13:04Yeah. If you're unaware of that story,
- 1:13:06Google it. The.
- 1:13:10Jesus. Yeah.
- 1:13:12They come. And they tried to Men In Black
- 1:13:14the Pac-12. Yeah, this is hot.
- 1:13:18I'm a West Coast guy. I root for the Pac-12.
- 1:13:24It's well, got they little bit in trouble right now.
- 1:13:30I'm going to get three moves, you only get three merge with
- 1:13:34the big 12 and try to get them to adopt your name.
- 1:13:40I mean, the this, the UCLA USC thing is that, that might have
- 1:13:47just been the end of it because it's, you know, in today's
- 1:13:50world, it's the TV markets that drive it.
- 1:13:52There aren't like, what are you going to do?
- 1:13:55But I'm sure you could bring them back.
- 1:13:57Oh yeah. Do you got Those back, you have
- 1:14:00to you have to get them back somehow.
- 1:14:03I mean that's you can try to give him a Longhorns deal and
- 1:14:06lift and let them run. Just run the conference 80/20 or
- 1:14:10something. I don't know.
- 1:14:11But no. I honestly like I think I would
- 1:14:17hire I would hire a boy that just left the Big Ten.
- 1:14:23Hmm definitely do that. I'd hire him.
- 1:14:28You got to find, you got to find, you gotta merge.
- 1:14:33You just, you have to merge. We need those into the big Pock.
- 1:14:38They go. The big Epoch.
- 1:14:41I like it. A big Epoch conference.
- 1:14:44I like it. Yeah, I had higher.
- 1:14:47I'd hire well. I am I forgetting his name
- 1:14:49because he's brilliant and ivory, I'm a big fan of his, the
- 1:14:53former Big Ten, commissioner who just dipped out for the new gig
- 1:14:57I would hire him, I would create the big Epoch and And you keep
- 1:15:07the to La schools. I mean, yes.
- 1:15:11Yes, you can't keep him. You have to retrieve them have
- 1:15:16to retrieve them somehow. Oh, Lord, no.
- 1:15:19It's, it's a mess. I was right now.
- 1:15:23It's a mess and I don't think it.
- 1:15:25I don't think It ultimately folds just because, you know,
- 1:15:32What else you going to do? But it could become so watered
- 1:15:34down that it could just be a mid-major like it's two steps
- 1:15:38away from being a major conference.
- 1:15:44Yeah, we're about to have Pac-12 Conference games between Boise
- 1:15:48State, and San Diego State. That's coming.
- 1:15:53Yeah, more power to them, don't knock it, more power to, you
- 1:15:57know what? Let me give you a slightly
- 1:15:59different. I don't, I don't know how to do
- 1:16:02it but they must get the new meteorites deal.
- 1:16:05Correct. They have to get it right?
- 1:16:08Yeah. Like you can't fumble it again.
- 1:16:11You just can't Yeah, hot. Well Wow.
- 1:16:19I almost said would you rather Part B props going out to
- 1:16:24everybody out there to hear them have a first sure?

- 1:17:23Oh, my goodness, like it was bad, it was really bad.
- 1:17:27Like there's lines. Outside.
- 1:17:28Walmart folks, buying new TVs, first of all, kind of stuff
- 1:17:31going on. I went into Dick's Sporting
- 1:17:33Goods and I can't listen, it looked like a cowboy store had
- 1:17:36exploded and everything. In this store was 25 to 50
- 1:17:40percent goodness gracious. So Harvey props to my wife, she
