- Lucas: Velkommen til Episode 51 of Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Lucas, last episode we learned hånd and fot. Today, are we going up to the face? Lucas: Exactly! We're learning parts of the face: øye, nese, munn, and øre. Luna: Ooh, okay. Starting with...? Lucas: øye. That's eye. Can you try? Luna: øye. Hmm, is that right? Lucas: Perfect. øye. Now, eyes in plural: øyne. So 'Jeg har blå øyne.' I have blue eyes. Luna: Jeg har blå øyne. Wait, my eyes are brown. Can I say 'Jeg har brune øyne'? Luna: Cool. Next one? Lucas: nese. Nose. Luna: nese. That sounds like 'knees' but with an 'eh'. Lucas: Kind of. nese. Try again: nese. Luna: nese. Got it. So 'Jeg har en nese'? Lucas: That works, but it's obvious you have a nose. Let's make a sentence: 'Nesen min er liten.' My nose is small. Luna: Nesen min er liten. Oh, so nese becomes nesen with the definite ending? Lucas: Yes. For masculine nouns, add -en. So nese becomes nesen. Good catch. Luna: Alright, next: munn. Mouth. Lucas: Yes. munn. Try saying it. Luna: munn. Like 'moon' with an 'n'? Lucas: Close. munn. The double n is short. munn. And in a sentence: 'Munnen min er liten.' My mouth is small. Luna: Munnen min er liten. So munn becomes munnen. That's masculine too. Lucas: Exactly. And last one: øre. Ear. Luna: øre. That's pretty. øre. And plural? Lucas: ører. So 'Jeg har to ører.' I have two ears. Luna: Jeg har to ører. And definite: øret? Lucas: Yes. øre is neuter, so it takes -et. 'Øret mitt er lite.' My ear is small. Luna: Øret mitt er lite. Okay, so we have øye, nese, munn, øre. Let me do a quick recap. Lucas: Go for it. Luna: øye – eye. nese – nose. munn – mouth. øre – ear. And sentences: 'Jeg har blå øyne.' 'Nesen min er liten.' 'Munnen min er liten.' 'Øret mitt er lite.' How did I do? Lucas: Fantastic, Luna! You nailed it. One tiny thing: for øre, the adjective has to match the neuter gender – lite instead of liten. Øret mitt er lite. Luna: Right, lite. Øret mitt er lite. Thanks for the tweak. Lucas: Let's do a little practice scene. Imagine you're describing someone. For example, 'Han har brune øyne og en stor nese.' He has brown eyes and a big nose. Luna: Han har brune øyne og en stor nese. Ooh, stor means big. I remember that from earlier. Lucas: Yes. And 'stor' for nese because it's feminine – but it's actually nese is masculine, so it's 'en stor nese'. Good. Luna: Okay. Can you give me one more? Lucas: Sure. 'Hun har en liten munn og små ører.' She has a small mouth and small ears. Luna: Hun har en liten munn og små ører. Små – that's plural for small, right? Lucas: Yes. ører is plural neuter, so små. Perfect. Luna: Alright, I think I've got them. Let's go through all four words one more time. Lucas: Sure. Luna: øye. Lucas: Yes. Luna: nese. Lucas: Good. Luna: munn. Lucas: Right. Luna: øre. Lucas: Excellent. You're ready. Now, a quick reminder: if you want to practice more, head over to Fexingo for interactive exercises. We have a whole set for body parts.
