- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Oh, hi, it's Adam here. And in this episode of The
- 0:43Hypnotist, you can be listening to a hypnosis session created
- 0:47for a client that was making really good progress.
- 0:50In the past. But due to a change in
- 0:54circumstances relating to. Their job?
- 0:57And certain key social things put them on a path they were
- 1:02previously, and they didn't really want to be that way.
- 1:05They wanted to kind of be a different version of themselves.
- 1:09And what you're going to hear on this hypnosis session is a
- 1:14phrase that I love, which is this idea of probability trees.
- 1:19And clearly it's a metaphor, but it's a metaphor that I think is
- 1:22really, really useful because most people have a sense that in
- 1:27life, one major decision sends them on a different trajectory.
- 1:32And while they're on that trajectory, it also increases
- 1:37the possibility or probability of other things happening.
- 1:42So for example, if just on a whim you decided to live in a
- 1:47different part of the world, a different country, after making
- 1:52that decision, there's lots of things that are almost
- 1:54impossible to happen to you and lots of other things that are
- 1:58highly likely simply because you're living in a different
- 2:02part of the world. And that's a good way of
- 2:04thinking about more nuanced things when it comes to a
- 2:07probability tree. If someone drinks a lot of
- 2:11alcohol, for example, they increase the probability of
- 2:17certain health consequences, but also certain other ramifications
- 2:21depending on how they are when they're under the influence of
- 2:25alcohol. Some people, for example, under
- 2:27the influence of alcohol, tend to take other drugs or they
- 2:30might eat more or they tend to might spend more money.
- 2:33They might, you know, do online shopping or gambling while
- 2:36they're under the influence of alcohol.
- 2:38So one thing can quite often lead to another thing, which
- 2:40then leads to another thing. In this particular hypnosis
- 2:44session, it encourages the client to consider two different
- 2:48branches of this probability tree.
- 2:50And it's good to frame things on a spectrum.
- 2:52So imagining your worst life and your best life and then thinking
- 2:57what increases the probability of your worst life.
- 3:00And it probably is certain decisions and consistent habits
- 3:04and behaviours that increase the probability of that.
- 3:08Equally, the best life in your future, again, is probably going
- 3:12to be an echo of consistent decisions over time.
- 3:15And most people have a sense of what they would be.
- 3:19And this hypnosis session enables you to explore different
- 3:23possibilities. That's the great thing about the
- 3:24future. Nothing is guaranteed.
- 3:26It's just all about probabilities and possibilities.
- 3:30And there's a few phrases here that talk about turning
- 3:32possibilities into inevitabilities, this idea of,
- 3:37well, if you do something enough, it almost becomes
- 3:40inevitable that these good things happen as a consequence.
- 3:45If you feel like this is useful for you, great, continue
- 3:49listening. If you want something a bit more
- 3:50bespoke, there will be a link in the show notes where you can
- 3:53check out a free consultation call to explore working with me.
- 3:58And right now, because at the point where I'm publishing this,
- 4:01it is Black Friday, for the next three or four days I'm going to
- 4:04be offering a discount code for any one to one sessions.
- 4:07So if you. Use 20% off SO20 percent sign
- 4:12OFF in the coupon code box in the checkout.
- 4:17You will get 20% discount on anyone to one session.
- 4:20So if you've been thinking about this anyway, it might be worth
- 4:23considering that now. The link in the code will be in
- 4:27the show notes. For now, though, find a quiet,
- 4:29comfortable place where you won't be.
- 4:31Disturbed. Relax.
- 4:33And enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 4:59you breathe in, breathe in a resourceful feeling of calm and
- 5:02relaxation, and on the outward breath allow your eyelids to
- 5:08close, and as they close, feel a sense of release, releasing
- 5:19tension, and then breathing in a deep breath of resolve, a
- 5:27resolution to open up possibilities and probabilities.
- 5:37Scan your body for any clues of tension, and as you breathe out,
- 5:44give permission to release that tension.
- 5:50And maybe that's slowly at first, but just get a sense that
- 5:55that tension is melting away, perhaps around your forehead,
- 6:01your jaw, your neck or shoulders.
- 6:07Just imagine it softening, loosening, dissolving in some
- 6:14way. Feel it leave your body in that
- 6:16outward breath, and then breathe in even more of that
- 6:23resourcefulness. And some of those resources
- 6:29might be confidence, belief. I want you to think of a version
- 6:35of you from the past where you were proud of your choices.
- 6:42As you breathe in and breathe out, feel that you are awakening
- 6:47that version of you. And perhaps you can recall a
- 6:55particular tonality of in a dialogue that is more impulsive,
- 7:03more gratification seeking, and just get a sense that as that
- 7:09version of you awakens, a different version of you becomes
- 7:16dormant, starts to go back, go back to the past, become less
- 7:26influential, breathing in resourcefulness, exhaling
- 7:32tension. And I want you to imagine a
- 7:40beautiful garden with a large oak tree.
- 7:48I want you to get a sense that as you look at the trunk, the
- 7:54trunk naturally goes off in different directions.
- 8:02Large branches become medium branches become lots of small
- 8:07branches. And I want you to imagine that
- 8:12this tree represents every possible iteration of your life.
- 8:23I want you to get a sense that some of these branches take your
- 8:27life in a positive, fulfilling, wonderful direction of pride,
- 8:35accomplishment, satisfaction, wonderful good feelings.
- 8:44Other branches of this tree are more self-destructive, but I
- 8:51want you to get a sense that every branch of the tree is
- 8:57capable of persuading you it's the ideal branch for you.
- 9:06They say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
- 9:12Any person that you've seen living the consequence of self
- 9:17destruction didn't realize they were on that path until it was
- 9:22too late. Something random happened.
- 9:29Something happened that created a chain reaction, a ripple
- 9:32effect that meant that they were living with the consequences
- 9:39previous choices that they didn't know would take them that
- 9:42way. So let's explore a branch of
- 9:48this tree that seems like it's a good, enjoyable, pleasurable
- 9:54place, but leads to somewhere undesirable.
- 10:02I want you to imagine looking up the trunk to a particular
- 10:06branch, and we can just call this branch impulsiveness or
- 10:13gratification, whichever word resonates the most, or something
- 10:17else. A place where this branch is all
- 10:22about short term sensations, feelings that don't last very
- 10:32long but feel appealing in the moment.
- 10:38I'd be drinking something, smoking something, snorting
- 10:41something. But let's go down that branch.
- 10:47Or perhaps you can imagine for the first few years of that
- 10:51branch, a few near misses, but no major catastrophes.
- 11:01And if you can recall a few near misses, let me know about
- 11:03nodding your head. What if the near misses are like
- 11:11warning flags, letting you know where things could go,
- 11:18encouraging you to take a different branch of the tree?
- 11:23But let's just imagine we ignore all of those warnings, put them
- 11:30down to bad luck, just imagine them no big deal, and continue.
- 11:38And I want you to see a version of you at your current age
- 11:44halfway down that branch of the probability tree.
- 11:50And I want you to see impulsive decisions that prioritize
- 11:58things, that make you feel good in the moment but perhaps aren't
- 12:03leading you to anything positive.
- 12:09See that version of you drinking, smoking, snorting, and
- 12:16for a while, no big deal. The occasional argument.
- 12:24Observe yourself with periods of disappointment, self loathing,
- 12:31but no big deal. I want you to see that the
- 12:36further along that branch, the more of those tiny branches all
- 12:42lead to somewhere. Somewhere that you wouldn't want
- 12:49to be. I want you to get a sense that
- 12:54if your life in the future was to end up being a waste, being
- 13:02miserable, being full of regret, frustration, anger, it's more
- 13:11likely to be on this branch of the tree.
- 13:17And I want you to explore one specific branch, and maybe it's
- 13:23the worst possible branch that stems off that tree.
- 13:29Imagine your life 5 or 10 years in the future, where everything
- 13:35you love and value the most you've lost.
- 13:41Or perhaps something catastrophic happens to your
- 13:45health. That means either you don't
- 13:48exist or you're not capable of living life the way you would
- 13:53choose. And when you found a future like
- 13:58that, let me know if you're nodding your head.
- 14:04And then step into that version of you perhaps hours or days
- 14:10before it reaches its very worst conclusion.
- 14:17And like a good twist in a movie, you start thinking
- 14:21backwards and the clues were there all along.
- 14:25But it moaning makes sense after you've seen the twist.
- 14:30I want you to put yourself in that future version of you.
- 14:32But the clues were there all along.
- 14:36All of those near misses were warnings.
- 14:40All of those opportunities to be discerning that weren't taken
- 14:45were missed opportunities. And if it all seems to make
- 14:51sense how you ended up in this undesirable place, let me know
- 14:57by nodding your head. And maybe you can amplify and
- 15:08make it worse. Sometimes when people find
- 15:15themselves in a dark situation, they use the very strategies to
- 15:22self medicate that difficult situation rather than improving.
- 15:29What if it leads to even more reckless or destructive
- 15:32behaviour? What if it leads to some form of
- 15:41tragedy or waste? But I want you to feel this is
- 15:48just a possibility and imagine going backwards through time,
- 15:56reversing key decisions that led you to that place.
- 16:03Maybe you've had the experience of seeing one of those maze
- 16:08puzzles in a puzzle book or newspaper.
- 16:13Isn't it always easier to solve the puzzle when you start at the
- 16:18end and work backwards? You get to miss all of those
- 16:23dead ends and little traps. I want you to go from the future
- 16:31back to the present, noticing all of those things that were so
- 16:37easy to avoid. And when you get back to the
- 16:45present, let me know by nodding your head.
- 16:48And what if you were intentional the rather than go down that
- 16:58path to go down a different branch of the tree that
- 17:04increases the probability of you living your very best life.
- 17:14I wonder what choices you would make in the short term.
- 17:20The career or job to pursue, the nutrition you consume, the
- 17:27quality of sleep that you get, how often you exercise, how much
- 17:34water you drink to live your very best life.
- 17:39These small things aren't so small.
- 17:42I want you to get a sense that you make certain key changes.
- 17:52And because each time you do those things, you feel like
- 17:56you're buying a raffle ticket to live your best future life.
- 18:02These small things become rewarding things.
- 18:05These small things become fulfilling things, satisfying
- 18:10things. So imagine what the next few
- 18:15days and weeks would look like to just make sure you're on that
- 18:20branch of the probability tree. What people do you stop hanging
- 18:29out with? What things do you do to make
- 18:34things easier to do or more difficult to do?
- 18:42And then imagine everything has a cost, an opportunity cost.
- 18:50Everything you're not doing creates time, energy, and
- 18:54emotion to do different things, things which you do to increase
- 19:00the probability of living your very best life.
- 19:06And just think of two or three things that if you did them
- 19:08consistently, would make you feel proud of yourself, would
- 19:14make you feel like you've created momentum in your life
- 19:25that would make you feel like you're making progress.
- 19:32I want you to get a sense. Then all of these things that
- 19:35increase the probability you can do them just once.
- 19:40And if you do them just once, you're more likely to do them
- 19:42again. And if every time you do them
- 19:45you feel good, you'll end up doing them more often.
- 19:52Every time you have a really good workout makes you feel
- 19:55good, you increase the probability of having another
- 19:58really good workout. Every time you choose to drink
- 20:03something nutritious or cleansing and that makes you
- 20:08feel good, you're more likely to drink that thing again.
- 20:15And I want you to imagine observing a version of you where
- 20:21that future life, where you're living your best life.
- 20:26Isn't just a probability, it's an inevitable side effect of
- 20:34doing certain things consistently, being a certain
- 20:38way, doing certain things, feeling certain things, the way
- 20:44you reward yourself. The way you.
- 20:49Forgive yourself quickly for making a mistake the way you
- 20:54have. Stop losses so setbacks become
- 20:59blips rather than trends. See that version of you where
- 21:04living this incredible life in the future is an inevitability
- 21:10And when you found that place, let me know by nodding your head
- 21:18and then step into it. Feel what it would feel like 5
- 21:23or 10 years from now to be living your best life.
- 21:27You see a reflection of yourself in the mirror and you feel a
- 21:31sense of admiration, respect, pride.
- 21:40That is the person you intend to be.
- 21:42And what if being discerning, making great choices makes that
- 21:54future inevitable? And just like you did before,
- 22:02imagine going backwards, noticing you didn't have to be
- 22:06perfect, you didn't need to be disciplined every day.
- 22:13It's just doing certain things consistently made that future
- 22:19possible. So as you go backwards in time,
- 22:23notice what you were doing consistently.
- 22:27Notice how you got out of ruts, began new habits, changed your
- 22:33emotional state without relying on drink or drugs.
- 22:40When it all seems to make sense going backwards, you realise
- 22:44you're planting seeds of ideas deep in your subconscious mind
- 22:51to turn this not into a possibility, but into a destiny.
- 22:57And when you figured out a road map to that future, let me know
- 23:06by nodding your head. I want you to get a sense as you
- 23:15return to the base of the tree, you have infinite possibilities
- 23:21as to your future. No future is guaranteed.
- 23:27But feel that the more you do certain things, the more you
- 23:32increase the probability of 1 branch rather than another
- 23:37branch. So set the intention as to what
- 23:42kind of future you want, what kind of person you need to be to
- 23:49lead to that future, the kind of things you could choose to do to
- 23:57make it simple, cause and effect that you arrive there.
- 24:06But before you return to the present, take a deep breath in
- 24:09through your nose. Breathe in a sense of
- 24:13conviction, self belief, but also a sense of resolve,
- 24:21tenacity and resolve to do what's necessary to steal your
- 24:27life in the most useful and desirable direction.
- 24:35But now it's time to return to the here and now, taking all of
- 24:38these changes with you. New sense of clarity, new sense
- 24:43of resourcefulness, realizing that that version of you that
- 24:48doesn't need substances or drink is fully awakened.
- 24:53So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 24:57nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 24:59wiggle your toes as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 25:04you. Starting to count. 123 waking up
- 25:10456, more alert. 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 25:14Open your eyes 910 Wide awake, Wide awake.
- 25:18Wide awake. Thank you for listening to The
