- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on seven tenor.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey, it's very strange. You know, it's cold out, Hockey
- 0:10Speaker 2: seasons started. Football games are on Thursday night and Monday night.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's just very strange. It's really autumn. I can feel
- 0:16Speaker 2: it now. And I look every time you go in
- 0:18Speaker 2: the store, first display, you see Halloween candy everywhere. It's
- 0:23Speaker 2: only a matter of time. It's gonna happen. Very soon.
- 0:25Speaker 2: You're gonna walk into a store and there'll be some
- 0:27Speaker 2: Christmas display there. It's in fact, I just I just
- 0:31Speaker 2: a friend of mine just texting me from Paris. They're
- 0:34Speaker 2: putting up Christmas lights on the shows that he say
- 0:36Speaker 2: right now as we speak, Walmart is doing it already.
- 0:41Speaker 2: But that's okay, that's okay. The faster this happens, the
- 0:44Speaker 2: quicker we get to spring. So Columbus Day is Monday.
- 0:49Speaker 2: This is a holiday that was really on the outs
- 0:51Speaker 2: for a while, but not now. President Trump putting out
- 0:54Speaker 2: a proclamation about Columbus Day is going to make it
- 0:56Speaker 2: a very big deal. Columbus Day Parade will be here
- 0:59Speaker 2: in New York on Monday. So just remember that snarling
- 1:03Speaker 2: up traffic all over Midtown on Monday. Let's get to
- 1:06Speaker 2: the mayoral race. New polling shows that with Eric Adams
- 1:11Speaker 2: dropping out of the race, Cuomo picks up a few votes,
- 1:14Speaker 2: about eighty percent more than I thought. About eighty percent
- 1:17Speaker 2: of the Adams vote has gone to Cuomo. About twenty
- 1:20Speaker 2: percent went to Mom Donnie. Now, these poles aren't that accurate.
- 1:24Speaker 2: These are these dopey college polls. But it shows Cuomo
- 1:28Speaker 2: picking up a little, but not enough to really come
- 1:31Speaker 2: close to Mom Donnie. Mom Donnie still has a big lead.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Curtis picked up a little. The matching funds were handed
- 1:38Speaker 2: out and matching funds yesterday. Cuomo got almost two million
- 1:45Speaker 2: in matching funds. That's from the campaign finance board. Curtis
- 1:48Speaker 2: got a million four in matching funds. Mom Donnie got
- 1:54Speaker 2: I think a million two in matching funds. Now Curtis
- 1:57Speaker 2: has been spending money. I'll give them credit. Those ads
- 2:00Speaker 2: are all over the place. If you're watching the Yankee
- 2:02Speaker 2: playoff game, Curtis ran ads in the game. If you're
- 2:06Speaker 2: watching Good Day in New York this morning, there were
- 2:08Speaker 2: ads for Curtis TV ads. Mo'm Donnie not doing much advertising,
- 2:12Speaker 2: But if he does, it's not TV, it's social media.
- 2:16Speaker 2: That's the most important battleground right now. Cuomo doing a
- 2:20Speaker 2: lot of interviews and if you listen to him in
- 2:23Speaker 2: these interviews, the problem is he's awful in debates. He's
- 2:28Speaker 2: a terrible debater. He's slow, and he talks like this.
- 2:33Speaker 2: So I'm listening to some of these. He's done some
- 2:35Speaker 2: long interviews podcasts, radio shows, and if you listen to them,
- 2:41Speaker 2: you ask the guy a question and then he takes
- 2:44Speaker 2: a long time to answer and it's like a five
- 2:51Speaker 2: minute answer. He's great on a podcast podcast, you got
- 2:54Speaker 2: to fill an hour. This guy's perfect. Ask him anything.
- 2:56Speaker 2: He talks for eight minutes with a talks slow, runs
- 3:00Speaker 2: down the clock. But you can't do that in a debate.
- 3:03Speaker 2: And you gotta be like Mam Donnie. In a debate,
- 3:05Speaker 2: you gotta be rapid fire, like boom boom boom. You
- 3:07Speaker 2: hit the guy with stuff and then they go to
- 3:08Speaker 2: Cuomo for a response and he goes, mister, mom, Donnie
- 3:13Speaker 2: may think that uh, And already the audience says, so
- 3:17Speaker 2: he's not good in the debate. Curtis is a great debater.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Now the big development this is where the race will
- 3:24Speaker 2: be decided Thursday night. The first mayor Old debate. There'll
- 3:29Speaker 2: be another one six days later. But Thursday night, the
- 3:34Speaker 2: first mayor old debate. This is coming Thursday night. It'll
- 3:37Speaker 2: be Mam. Donnie'll be he's good. Into the debate, he's
- 3:40Speaker 2: very good. Curtis will be very good. Curtis could hit
- 3:42Speaker 2: him with a knockout punch. You never know. Anything's possible.
- 3:45Speaker 2: He may not, but anything's possible. Cuomo will talk slow
- 3:50Speaker 2: and it won't work, and it'll look old and tired
- 3:53Speaker 2: compared to these two. And so if Curtis can land
- 3:58Speaker 2: some blows and really make difference, that could turn the
- 4:01Speaker 2: race around. Now it's possible that Curtis is very good,
- 4:05Speaker 2: but nothing changes. And then now New York is famous.
- 4:09Speaker 2: New York City is famous for in its mayoral races,
- 4:12Speaker 2: the whole thing can change in the last couple of weeks.
- 4:15Speaker 2: We've seen that before many times in New York City,
- 4:18Speaker 2: where whatever race way, the race is headed, in the
- 4:21Speaker 2: last couple of weeks, it just all changes. It can
- 4:23Speaker 2: all change very fast in New York City. I don't
- 4:26Speaker 2: know exactly why, but here is where that does happen.
- 4:28Speaker 2: So it could be the debate shakes everything up and
- 4:32Speaker 2: things change. It could be that nothing changes, and then
- 4:36Speaker 2: you're on track to have a Mamdani victory. Cuomo, we
- 4:39Speaker 2: know is not the one guy that can't beat Mamdani
- 4:42Speaker 2: is Cuomo. We've seen it in the primary. He got
- 4:46Speaker 2: just slapped around by him in two debates. He lost
- 4:50Speaker 2: by a lot of votes in the primary. So Thursday night,
- 4:53Speaker 2: if anything's going to change, that's where it'll change. Now.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Mamdani's been doing a lot of interviews, and the other
- 5:00Speaker 2: thing is Mam Donnie's been sort of hedging. He normally
- 5:04Speaker 2: was given clear answers, but Buck Sexton texting, we love Buck.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Your Cuomo is excellent, Thank you very much. You know,
- 5:17Speaker 2: I'm listening to these radio interviews. And here's the other thing.
- 5:20Speaker 2: You know, you're dealing with a weasel. When they talk,
- 5:24Speaker 2: they ask themselves questions and answer like, what about the
- 5:29Speaker 2: nursing homes? Did you get kill ten thousand people? A
- 5:32Speaker 2: lot of people ask me about the nursing homes? Look,
- 5:37Speaker 2: do I think I made a mistake? Maybe do I
- 5:42Speaker 2: think I might have done things differently? Maybe he's been
- 5:45Speaker 2: saying that a lot lately. First, he tried this explanation
- 5:48Speaker 2: about the nursing homes. It's the dumbest decision ever in
- 5:52Speaker 2: the history of decisions. Can you imagine people have got
- 5:56Speaker 2: the virus they just tested positive, you send them into
- 5:59Speaker 2: the nursing homes where these old, vulnerable people are living.
- 6:02Speaker 2: It was the dumbest thing ever. So he's tried for
- 6:04Speaker 2: the last week this explanation of well, other states did
- 6:10Speaker 2: it to it, We're not the only plenty of states
- 6:12Speaker 2: did it. Yeah, but it wasn't the same and it
- 6:17Speaker 2: wasn't like this here. I mean, this was a he
- 6:20Speaker 2: killed ten thousand people. The decision was genocidal. So he's
- 6:24Speaker 2: now doing this. I wouldn't call it an apology. Look,
- 6:28Speaker 2: did I make a mistake? Would I do it differently? Maybe? Yes.
- 6:35Speaker 2: And he's doing this fudging thing where he says, look,
- 6:38Speaker 2: I still have nightmares at night. I can remember all
- 6:42Speaker 2: my conversations with those families. He says that a lot now,
- 6:46Speaker 2: in all my conversations with these families, I'd like to
- 6:50Speaker 2: find somebody. Please find one family that he had he had.
- 6:53Speaker 2: There's no family that says they've ever had a conversation
- 6:56Speaker 2: with Cuomo. He's changed his tune on bailro form. Hey,
- 7:02Speaker 2: our friend Sid interviewed him this morning and Sid at
- 7:04Speaker 2: one point, good for sid. He brought up Kathy Hokel.
- 7:09Speaker 2: You know, Kathy Holk has been a horrible governor, and
- 7:13Speaker 2: he said, she's terrible. You picked her. You're the one
- 7:16Speaker 2: that gave us Kathy Hulkel, you know, the lieutenant governor.
- 7:19Speaker 2: You picked her. And Cuomo said, yeah, you re elected her.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So that's a good comeback, very snappy comeback. First time
- 7:28Speaker 2: its history was made. Clomo actually had a snappy comeback.
- 7:32Speaker 2: But he's going to get hit with all this stuff
- 7:34Speaker 2: and Curtis will pound away on him. So if anything's
- 7:36Speaker 2: going to change, it'll change Thursday. Oh now here's another
- 7:39Speaker 2: factor with this peace agreement in the Middle East. This
- 7:43Speaker 2: affects the mayoral race. It's going to affect a few
- 7:46Speaker 2: elections around the country. A lot of these races are
- 7:49Speaker 2: all about how horrible israel Is and Gaza people are
- 7:53Speaker 2: starving being slought. Well, now that that's over, this kind
- 7:56Speaker 2: of takes that issue off the table, and it was
- 7:59Speaker 2: a big one from Amdani. So he's going to lose
- 8:01Speaker 2: this issue. In fact, if he tries this again, the
- 8:05Speaker 2: suffering and the Palestinians, the suffering in Gaza, if he
- 8:10Speaker 2: tries pulling that you can point out, well, then thank Trump,
- 8:13Speaker 2: he's the one that solved the problem. He's bringing that
- 8:15Speaker 2: problem to a complete conclusion. And there's a lot of
- 8:19Speaker 2: governor's races where that's a big issue, you know, Israel Palestine.
- 8:22Speaker 2: So it's a tough thing, this peace agreement, because it's brilliant,
- 8:27Speaker 2: it's wonderful, it's an amazing negotiation, amazing accomplishment by Trump.
- 8:31Speaker 2: It's tough for the Democrats because they have to actually
- 8:34Speaker 2: try to say something nice. Chuck Schumer White, I mean,
- 8:37Speaker 2: he was so his glasses were fogging up, but he
- 8:39Speaker 2: had to say something.
- 8:40Speaker 3: If disagreement is implemented, then finally, after two years of
- 8:44Speaker 3: immense suffering, the hostages could soon be free. There could
- 8:49Speaker 3: be a ceasefire, and the victims of this painful conflict
- 8:54Speaker 3: can start to rebuild their lives.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah, now they're waiting to see exactly how this unfolds.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Does it actually work? So this weekend they can't really
- 9:03Speaker 2: go after the present because we don't know. We've got
- 9:05Speaker 2: to see will this really work? Will it be done?
- 9:09Speaker 2: So let's say it everything goes well. On the weekend,
- 9:12Speaker 2: Trump goes to Egypt, they make the deal. Everything signed Monday,
- 9:15Speaker 2: they released the hostages Tuesday. There's a big ceremony for
- 9:19Speaker 2: the hostage. This will be great. Then it's after that
- 9:23Speaker 2: the media has to try to figure out how to
- 9:25Speaker 2: attack Trump on this. They will find a way. How
- 9:29Speaker 2: will they attack them? I don't know. Well, maybe listen
- 9:31Speaker 2: to the Schumer thing again.
- 9:33Speaker 3: If this agreement is implemented, then finally after two years.
- 9:36Speaker 2: So maybe that'll be the attack line. If he could
- 9:38Speaker 2: do this, why didn't he do this two years ago?
- 9:40Speaker 2: Why did he wait two years to do this? They'll
- 9:42Speaker 2: try something like that. They'll try a few things to
- 9:44Speaker 2: see what sticks. Hey, Jimmy Kimmel's done a bunch of interviews. Kimmel,
- 9:51Speaker 2: he was on Bloomberg. So when it comes to the
- 9:53Speaker 2: big lie, he told that's how he got in all
- 9:55Speaker 2: the trouble. He lied about the Charlie kirkshooter, claiming it
- 9:58Speaker 2: was a maga guy. Total distortion, total fake news. He
- 10:03Speaker 2: can't admit that though he's on this Bloomberg interview and
- 10:06Speaker 2: he said, well, it was mischaracterized. I was distorted what
- 10:09Speaker 2: I said. Now we can see the clip. He out
- 10:12Speaker 2: and out lied. He deliberately lied on the show. But
- 10:16Speaker 2: he's mischaracterized a store, So he just won't give in
- 10:20Speaker 2: on this.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Now.
- 10:21Speaker 2: The other thing is he said he would love to
- 10:23Speaker 2: have Donald Trump on his show, So he basically invited
- 10:25Speaker 2: Trump to come on his show. Now you might say, well,
- 10:29Speaker 2: that's great, he should do that. Trump would be great.
- 10:31Speaker 2: He can handle Kimmel. This would be he should definitely
- 10:34Speaker 2: do well.
- 10:34Speaker 5: He said.
- 10:35Speaker 2: The problem is, why would Kimmel do this, because in
- 10:38Speaker 2: all the controversy when he came back on the air,
- 10:40Speaker 2: he got six point five million viewers, not as usual
- 10:44Speaker 2: one million. He got six and a half million. He
- 10:47Speaker 2: was suddenly number one, He suddenly had great ratings. Well
- 10:50Speaker 2: it took a few days, but it quickly went back
- 10:52Speaker 2: to one million. He lost the whole bounce that he got.
- 10:55Speaker 2: He lost it all and went back to his miserable ratings.
- 10:58Speaker 2: So that's why he wants to have Trump on because
- 11:01Speaker 2: then he could go to twenty million or what's the
- 11:05Speaker 2: all time record late night television. I think it was
- 11:07Speaker 2: Johnny Carson tiny Tim's wedding nineteen sixty nine that went
- 11:14Speaker 2: to forty nine million. That's the all time record for
- 11:16Speaker 2: a late night show. He thinks he could do that
- 11:18Speaker 2: with Trump. So if Trump, you know, he'd want to
- 11:22Speaker 2: do it, but he wouldn't. Why help Kimmel, Why help Kimmel.
- 11:27Speaker 2: So he should say to him, I'll do an interview
- 11:30Speaker 2: with you, but let's do it on the Sean Hannity Show.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Let's do it on. Let's do it on Fallon, give
- 11:39Speaker 2: fallon the ratings. But we'll see if anything comes to
- 11:41Speaker 2: that invitation. Hey, a lot of people in the Senate
- 11:45Speaker 2: are going to be suing Jack Smith, that bug eyed
- 11:47Speaker 2: weirdo with the cape. You know, he got their phone records,
- 11:52Speaker 2: their phone calls. But turning out, he got a lot
- 11:54Speaker 2: of stuff. He went into everybody's phone, got their GPS.
- 11:58Speaker 2: He can see everywhere they went, everywhere they went. You know,
- 12:05Speaker 2: I'll see you go into your iPhone. There's a lot
- 12:06Speaker 2: of stuff in there. There's got medical records, most people
- 12:09Speaker 2: have their medications. There's all kinds of personal information in there.
- 12:12Speaker 2: So they're gonna sue this guy like crazy. He's speaking
- 12:16Speaker 2: of medical You know a lot of people love taking ozempic.
- 12:19Speaker 2: There's three of them. There's a what's the other one,
- 12:21Speaker 2: Manjaro's Zeppa. There's like a bunch of these. The problem
- 12:26Speaker 2: with is ozambic. You get what's called ozempic face. It
- 12:29Speaker 2: starts looking old. Your face looks old, and it starts sagging.
- 12:32Speaker 2: It you get they call it ozembic face. Now that
- 12:35Speaker 2: disappointing out. You'll get ozembic teeth. It plays around with
- 12:38Speaker 2: your the healthier teeth and your gums. Now apparently there's
- 12:42Speaker 2: another discovery they've just come up with. Uh, if you're
- 12:46Speaker 2: on ozampic and then you need medical imaging, you know,
- 12:49Speaker 2: a cat scan, an MRI, it can distort the results
- 12:52Speaker 2: and give you false results and you can get misdiagnosed.
- 12:57Speaker 2: With a long explanation as to why. Too complicated. But
- 13:00Speaker 2: that's another problem to those MPigs. Hey, oh hey, a
- 13:04Speaker 2: great a great guy died yesterday, Shelley Fireman. He was
- 13:08Speaker 2: one of the great restaurant tours in New York. He
- 13:11Speaker 2: was ninety three. Right over there he tried to read
- 13:14Speaker 2: del Arte. That was one of his restaurants, Red Eye, Grill, Fiorilla,
- 13:18Speaker 2: right across from Lincoln Center. Through the years, Bond forty
- 13:22Speaker 2: five in the theater disc This guy was a great
- 13:24Speaker 2: restaurant owner, a very colorful guy in real life. And
- 13:29Speaker 2: I'm leaving that there's a bunch of restaurants he owned
- 13:32Speaker 2: ninety three just died yesterday, but I saw him not
- 13:34Speaker 2: long ago. He was in the restaurant holding a meeting,
- 13:36Speaker 2: working at ninety three, in fact, fifty seventh three. He
- 13:40Speaker 2: just opened this new restaurant, the Paris Bistro, Paris Bar,
- 13:43Speaker 2: whatever it's called. But he's ninety two opening a brand
- 13:48Speaker 2: new restaurant. That's the way you gotta be, Cape working,
- 13:51Speaker 2: never stop. Hey, when we come back, we'll take some calls.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten is
- 13:58Speaker 2: the number. Eight hundred two one zero seven ten. If
- 14:02Speaker 2: you're listening to Mark on the iHeartRadio.
- 14:04Speaker 1: App, save time and tap the preset button.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Now.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Now back to the Mark Simode show on woor.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Dave
- 14:15Speaker 2: in Chicago. Dave, how you doing?
- 14:18Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark.
- 14:18Speaker 6: I'm doing very well. Thank you.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Mark.
- 14:21Speaker 6: I have a proposition that I think would be best
- 14:23Speaker 6: suited for Allen's y Bell in your next interview, and
- 14:27Speaker 6: it has to do with writing scripts for television. Now,
- 14:30Speaker 6: the major networks ABC, NBC, CBS, et cetera, they restrict
- 14:35Speaker 6: time and scripts because they have to allow for commercials, yes,
- 14:39Speaker 6: animals such as HBO. You know, they run shows like this.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Well, it's the proposal.
- 14:45Speaker 6: Well, they vary in length and they can include profanity
- 14:49Speaker 6: and nudities. So essentially, for writers, is the easier to write.
- 14:53Speaker 2: That's a good question. Yeah, we'll ask him that next time.
- 14:55Speaker 2: You know, in the old days of the fifties, I
- 14:57Speaker 2: love Lucy the Honeymooners, when you wrote the script for
- 15:01Speaker 2: the sitcom, it was about I think it was twenty
- 15:05Speaker 2: four minutes because they had to leave six minutes for
- 15:07Speaker 2: commercials during the half hour. Do you know that by
- 15:10Speaker 2: the Seinfeld days it was down to like sixteen minutes
- 15:14Speaker 2: because they kept adding and adding commercials, So a sitcom
- 15:18Speaker 2: script was really only about sixteen seventeen minutes. Now it's
- 15:21Speaker 2: kind of different because television is dying. There's very few
- 15:24Speaker 2: viewers left on television primetime, even primetime, so it's less commercials,
- 15:29Speaker 2: so the scripts are probably getting longer. Now, let's go
- 15:31Speaker 2: to Rich in Myrtle Beach. Rich, how you doing.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Thanks thanks to Mark. That's a good point he just
- 15:38Speaker 4: brought up to a fellow from Chicago. I mean, just
- 15:40Speaker 4: think about how they wrote four complete stories for four
- 15:43Speaker 4: characters in fifteen or sixteen minutes. Really was unbelievable. You know,
- 15:46Speaker 4: I got a lot of joy you say, watching Martha
- 15:49Speaker 4: raditsh that old hag. Have to actually give Donald credit,
- 15:51Speaker 4: some Donald Trump some credit, and it's gone by the
- 15:54Speaker 4: time he's done. He's going to deserve that last space
- 15:57Speaker 4: of Mount Rushmore. Never mind a Nobel Peace Prize. Put
- 15:59Speaker 4: him on the mount. That's president we ever had.
- 16:02Speaker 2: All right knowing him. Apparently you can't put somebody on
- 16:07Speaker 2: Mount Rushmore. They keep explaining to you. Who knows, Maybe
- 16:09Speaker 2: it's just partisan nonsense, that the the rock. You can't,
- 16:14Speaker 2: you can't carve anything. Knowing Trump, He'll start a second
- 16:20Speaker 2: Mount Rushmore somewhere else. He'll do a second Mount Rushmore.
- 16:24Speaker 2: He'll put Reagan, he'll put himself. Actually a good idea,
- 16:29Speaker 2: Actually a good idea second Mount Rushmore. Let's go to
- 16:32Speaker 2: Pat in Westchester. Pat, How you doing, hey, Mark?
- 16:35Speaker 7: You have terrific guests on you have each week, Liz Peak,
- 16:40Speaker 7: Miranda Divine. The one thing that you were talking about
- 16:44Speaker 7: Trump derangement syndrome. And I think some of it could
- 16:47Speaker 7: be jealousy if you look at that. He has a
- 16:50Speaker 7: beautiful wife, He's amassed billions of dollars in wealth and
- 16:55Speaker 7: He's a national icon and you know, a world icon.
- 16:58Speaker 7: So it could be an a jealousy.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think it's jealous so much because you
- 17:01Speaker 2: look at these Trump haters. There are all these old
- 17:03Speaker 2: hag women that live on the Upper West Side. They
- 17:05Speaker 2: don't want to be in a glitzy Trump Tower apartment.
- 17:08Speaker 2: They don't want to be married to a supermodel. They're
- 17:11Speaker 2: I think Miranda divine. If you didn't hear last hour,
- 17:13Speaker 2: it was fascinating. Will follow up on this. She's been
- 17:17Speaker 2: talking to a psychiatrist like doctor Keith Ablow.
- 17:19Speaker 8: And.
- 17:22Speaker 2: It's daddy issues. It's a super strong, forceful, dominant male
- 17:28Speaker 2: that they can't stand. And if you look back on presidents,
- 17:35Speaker 2: first of all, you have to put on this fake formality,
- 17:38Speaker 2: and Paul you can't just you know, be an outrageous
- 17:41Speaker 2: kind of guy like Trump is. You can't in real life.
- 17:44Speaker 2: That's where it comes. But could she might have put
- 17:48Speaker 2: her finger on it. You know, every great politician, no
- 17:50Speaker 2: matter how strong, and they are great presidents, Bill Clinton,
- 17:54Speaker 2: they show a lot of vulnerability and the humbleness. And
- 17:59Speaker 2: George could look very vulnerable at times and humble. And Obama, yeah,
- 18:06Speaker 2: he could look humble at times and show some vulnerability
- 18:10Speaker 2: and self deprecating and all that. But they all could
- 18:14Speaker 2: do that, but not Trump. There's no vulnerability anywhere. So
- 18:18Speaker 2: it's like the roughest, toughest, strongest, most masculine dominating. It
- 18:24Speaker 2: just sets off those women. They can't deal with it.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Let's go to Alan Yonkers. Al, how you doing.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Good?
- 18:31Speaker 5: Mark?
- 18:31Speaker 8: Thanks for taking my call. You know, I just wanted
- 18:33Speaker 8: your personal opinion. You know, I saw Mike Lawler when
- 18:36Speaker 8: he stopped the minority leader Jeffreys, and not that it
- 18:42Speaker 8: was a political stunt. I just thought it was inappropriate
- 18:46Speaker 8: because of security reasons. As you know, the minority leader
- 18:49Speaker 8: being in the leadership has Secret Service protection, and I
- 18:53Speaker 8: just started to put the Secret Service in uncomfortable positions.
- 18:56Speaker 5: Yeah, would you agree, or.
- 18:58Speaker 2: There's no security problem they can protect. But what it
- 19:00Speaker 2: was is, you know how always tell you don't argue
- 19:03Speaker 2: with Democrats. If you got a friend who hates don't
- 19:06Speaker 2: argue because it'll be like that Lawler Jeffrey's conversation. You're
- 19:09Speaker 2: just yelling at each other for twenty minutes. You're not
- 19:11Speaker 2: going to change their mind. Don't even bother. It's like
- 19:15Speaker 2: arguing with a statue. I mean, don't bother, don't argue
- 19:18Speaker 2: with him. So when they say to hey, it happens
- 19:21Speaker 2: to me all the time. I was with this group
- 19:23Speaker 2: of entertainment business people and one of them says, this
- 19:28Speaker 2: is the worst nightmare we've ever lived through this trump.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I can't sleep at night. And it looked at me
- 19:34Speaker 2: and go, yeah, me too, me too, Just yes, I'm
- 19:37Speaker 2: to death. Change the subject, get out of there, don't
- 19:39Speaker 2: even try to argue with them, whatever they think. Just
- 19:43Speaker 2: let it go. Hey, today would have been John Lennon's
- 19:48Speaker 2: eighty fifth birthday. It would have been eighty five today.
- 19:53Speaker 2: You know, it's interesting some people you just never saw
- 19:55Speaker 2: them get old. A lot of them. You see. You
- 19:59Speaker 2: know Billy Joel, you see him now. You wouldn't if
- 20:01Speaker 2: you came in a time machine from nineteen seventy eight
- 20:04Speaker 2: to now, you wouldn't recognize Billy Joe's. It's totally different looking.
- 20:08Speaker 2: McCartney obviously looks his age, well not really, but he
- 20:12Speaker 2: looks older, but he still looks like McCartney, still sounds
- 20:15Speaker 2: like McCartney. But if you die young, people never see
- 20:19Speaker 2: you age. It's like Jack Kennedy, John F. Kennedy. We
- 20:22Speaker 2: always see him as young, dynamic president. We never saw
- 20:26Speaker 2: him get like Ted Kennedy, old and plump and boom.
- 20:29Speaker 2: So John Lennon would have been eighty five years old today. Hey,
- 20:32Speaker 2: when we come back, Ed Rollins will be with us.
- 20:35Speaker 2: The greatest political analyst, the Dean himself, will talk to
- 20:38Speaker 2: him next on seven to ten WR, Mark.
- 20:42Speaker 7: Simone on seventen WR.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Well, let's talk to the Dean himself, the best political
- 20:52Speaker 2: analyst of all. Nobody has run more campaigns, more successful
- 20:56Speaker 2: campaigns than he has. Ed Rollins is with us, Ed,
- 21:00Speaker 2: how you doing doing well?
- 21:02Speaker 5: Thank you? Monarch tivy going on in the world.
- 21:05Speaker 2: So this piece deal, if all goes according to plan
- 21:08Speaker 2: and it happens, what will the Democrats do, how will
- 21:10Speaker 2: they attack him on this?
- 21:12Speaker 5: Well, I won't be able attack on this. They basically
- 21:15Speaker 5: have to plaud and I think the world is starting
- 21:17Speaker 5: to applaud completely. Ship. This will not happen if he
- 21:20Speaker 5: had to stepped in and pushed BB to the to
- 21:24Speaker 5: the wall. And I think it's a certain extent you
- 21:27Speaker 5: read that argue about the stupidity of who got the
- 21:29Speaker 5: Nobel Peace Prize. Today, If this thing works, he's going
- 21:33Speaker 5: to be the one of unanimously a year from now.
- 21:36Speaker 5: The Peace Price dominees are supposed to be in by February.
- 21:41Speaker 5: He was barely president at the time, and I think
- 21:43Speaker 5: this certain extent, don't let the ediocy of the Peace
- 21:47Speaker 5: Price overshadow what he's done. He's made this happen. He's
- 21:50Speaker 5: about these forces have been fighting. He said this for
- 21:53Speaker 5: thousands of years together, and he asked to make it
- 21:56Speaker 5: work now.
- 21:57Speaker 2: So yeah, now, I know he's got a lot to do,
- 21:59Speaker 2: but I think he should also take up another task,
- 22:02Speaker 2: which is just wipe out this reputation of this Nobel
- 22:05Speaker 2: Peace Prize. It's a Democrat peace prize. It's a left
- 22:07Speaker 2: wing slanted I don't know how they still have this reputation,
- 22:10Speaker 2: but Donald Trump should try to take away that reputation
- 22:13Speaker 2: from don't you think, well, I think he.
- 22:15Speaker 5: I think he probably will. I mean, who cares. Being
- 22:17Speaker 5: perfectly honest, Yeah, you know, Jimmy Carter got it after
- 22:21Speaker 5: he was president, ten years after he left. Obama got
- 22:26Speaker 5: it before he was president. You got it, You got
- 22:28Speaker 5: the Peace Ward, and everybody said it was just because
- 22:30Speaker 5: he got left it. Uh, you know, three months into
- 22:33Speaker 5: his administration. So the last American who really got it deserved.
- 22:36Speaker 5: It was Jeddy Roosevelt. Trump did stopped the war.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, yeah, the New Jersey race, it's Chitdarelli against
- 22:45Speaker 2: what's her named, Mickey sch Mikey Sheryl. They got in
- 22:47Speaker 2: a big fight and the she accused him of this
- 22:49Speaker 2: and that he's now says he's gonna sue her. Have
- 22:52Speaker 2: you ever heard of that one candidate suing another because
- 22:54Speaker 2: of what they said in the debate?
- 22:58Speaker 5: And you know the problem with suits is that people
- 23:01Speaker 5: find out, you know, once you get beyond the rhetoric
- 23:04Speaker 5: of the initial case, then you have to discovery and
- 23:07Speaker 5: all the rest of it. Then you know, her counter
- 23:09Speaker 5: claim is going to be, how did he get her
- 23:12Speaker 5: federal documents that he shouldn't have had, so, you know,
- 23:15Speaker 5: argue about the things that matter people in New Jersey
- 23:18Speaker 5: and where she graduated in her class or but there's
- 23:22Speaker 5: circumstances work. She's a member of Congress. She's got a
- 23:25Speaker 5: lot of the ideas that probably won't work, and he's
- 23:28Speaker 5: got a lot of ideas that are going to be challenged.
- 23:30Speaker 5: And that's what the campaign had to be about. Though.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Hey, a lot of these campaigns around the mayoral race
- 23:36Speaker 2: with Montoni and some of these governors race. A big
- 23:38Speaker 2: issue is Gaza, the treatment of the people in Gaza,
- 23:41Speaker 2: Palestine's if this peace deal goes through, They're going to
- 23:44Speaker 2: lose that issue for the final weeks, aren't they.
- 23:47Speaker 5: They are going to lose that issue, and hopefully there's
- 23:49Speaker 5: a lot of other issues that come to the forefront.
- 23:52Speaker 5: There's a lot a lot of plays right now in
- 23:53Speaker 5: the course system in Portland, the Chicago they putting troops around,
- 23:59Speaker 5: and the super Court obviously back on the game again.
- 24:01Speaker 5: So you know what you want no want to do
- 24:04Speaker 5: is you don't want to have these things falter on you,
- 24:06Speaker 5: and make sure that everything you're doing is in coordination.
- 24:10Speaker 5: And as you heard me over and over again, I'm
- 24:12Speaker 5: a great believer in messages, and if you have too
- 24:15Speaker 5: many things on the turny just can sort of lay
- 24:20Speaker 5: your message down right now. But getting the government back
- 24:23Speaker 5: functioning again is what's the most important. The president can
- 24:28Speaker 5: stop that or start that. But if you start having
- 24:31Speaker 5: trouble with planes, you start having trouble with soldiers not
- 24:35Speaker 5: getting paid, then you really have a big issue.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeh, Hey, the mayoral race, the big debate is coming
- 24:41Speaker 2: up Thursday. Now, let's say Curtis just hits mom down
- 24:44Speaker 2: and would knockout blows unbelievable moments that go viral? Could
- 24:48Speaker 2: that change the race?
- 24:50Speaker 5: Anybody watches it?
- 24:51Speaker 2: Well, it's social media. It could go viral all over
- 24:54Speaker 2: the place.
- 24:55Speaker 5: It's possible it will go it will go that. But
- 24:59Speaker 5: no already watched these debates anymore. I mean, it's just
- 25:03Speaker 5: the number of the numbers in New Jersey debates this
- 25:05Speaker 5: week and Virginia Curtlow and but social media does play
- 25:08Speaker 5: mid brolly, and Curtis has tomate the case. You know,
- 25:12Speaker 5: he's serving the factor at this point. I keep Cuomo
- 25:15Speaker 5: from being a look candidate. Clomo got all all of Adams,
- 25:19Speaker 5: but he has to He's still thirteen fourteen points a hime,
- 25:22Speaker 5: which is a pretty good place to be, and and
- 25:26Speaker 5: the other problems Rondi's getting. You take people underd and fifty,
- 25:31Speaker 5: you've got to majority that vote. He's got a majority
- 25:33Speaker 5: of the Asian voters, Black voters, which normally almost strong suits.
- 25:38Speaker 5: So my senses, he's still I'd much rather have his
- 25:41Speaker 5: campaign if I was in the campaign. I don't want to
- 25:43Speaker 5: run a socialist campaign. But but he's still pretty well positioned.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, now you've been the best erratic.
- 25:49Speaker 5: Something dramatic has to happen.
- 25:51Speaker 2: You've been the best campaign consultant for years if you
- 25:53Speaker 2: were working for Cuomo. When you say, I don't know
- 25:55Speaker 2: how you say it, but when you say to them, hey,
- 25:56Speaker 2: you got to talk a little faster. You got to
- 25:58Speaker 2: be able to have a little more energy. Tired would
- 26:00Speaker 2: could you tell him that.
- 26:02Speaker 5: I've been terribly disappointed in the campaign. As I told you,
- 26:05Speaker 5: I'm not a Cuomo fan, but I'm just as an
- 26:08Speaker 5: observer at this point in time. I've seen one ad,
- 26:12Speaker 5: I've seen dozens of ads sort of mundabih and you know,
- 26:17Speaker 5: I don't see any ground game, as though there was
- 26:19Speaker 5: no Democratic Party operators that are going order for him
- 26:23Speaker 5: at this point, CMO And to a certain extent, how
- 26:26Speaker 5: do you win? You win by being out there and
- 26:29Speaker 5: being dramatic. And I'll say, you know, he's he's my
- 26:32Speaker 5: father did, he's what I did and more. But that's
- 26:35Speaker 5: not acceptable today. It's got a fifty two percent of
- 26:38Speaker 5: Google reading. It's got to do something I lived down
- 26:40Speaker 5: and he's got to do something that very is the
- 26:44Speaker 5: you know, and I think he's the only woman obviously
- 26:46Speaker 5: is liliable at this point in time.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Yeah, Hey, we were talking before Miranda divine and she's
- 26:51Speaker 2: been talking to psychologists. This Trump hatred, the people that
- 26:55Speaker 2: hate Trump. It's like a raging so psychiatrist said, it's
- 27:00Speaker 2: it's like a daddy issue. It's like he's too tough,
- 27:02Speaker 2: he's too masculine, he's too he shows no vulnerability anywhere. Ever,
- 27:07Speaker 2: it's too much. What do you think.
- 27:11Speaker 5: I think there's some truth that, I mean there is,
- 27:12Speaker 5: there is a polarization, and it doesn't matter what he does.
- 27:16Speaker 5: He doesn't get any of those years back. And he's done.
- 27:20Speaker 5: He's been a very strong president. He's done a lot
- 27:25Speaker 5: and if you look at it, just premier him a
- 27:27Speaker 5: progress in six seven months, He's made tremendous progress. He's
- 27:32Speaker 5: definitely defined redefine the president's rule. I mean, he's elvist
- 27:36Speaker 5: president for in history. Yeah, and people even credit.
- 27:40Speaker 2: For him well Ed rollins. Uh. But you know every present,
- 27:44Speaker 2: even Nixon would show vulnerability. He would also you'd see
- 27:47Speaker 2: him bowling, you see him with the kids. He was
- 27:49Speaker 2: like an all American father. Trump does none of that.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Do you think he should do that try to look
- 27:53Speaker 2: more humble normal?
- 27:56Speaker 5: I think hell he would be a great asset for
- 27:59Speaker 5: him to a certain extent. He's too angry. He is
- 28:03Speaker 5: too many, too many enemies that he wants to take out.
- 28:06Speaker 5: At this point in time, they have to just be
- 28:09Speaker 5: do it quietly, do it scenes, and just get out
- 28:11Speaker 5: there and talk about what I've done for the country
- 28:13Speaker 5: when I'm wanting to continue to do for the country,
- 28:14Speaker 5: and what i want to do with the world. I mean,
- 28:17Speaker 5: it's the strongest wading in a world war today. Yeah,
- 28:21Speaker 5: is just distractions. Go I think the settle all.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Right, Well you tell him. I'm not going to tell him,
- 28:31Speaker 2: but Ed Rollins great talking to you, great stuff. Keep
- 28:34Speaker 2: up with the good work. T thanks for being with
- 28:37Speaker 2: this week. Take care, h Hey. Coming up at twelve
- 28:41Speaker 2: noon Buck Sexton, Clay Travis. They do an excellent show
- 28:44Speaker 2: every day. It's from noon to three then three o'clock.
- 28:47Speaker 2: He got the most listened to radio show in America.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Sean Hannity, Jesse Kelly's on every night at six and
- 28:53Speaker 2: now Jimmy Fallon every night nine to midnight. Excellent show,
- 28:58Speaker 2: very funny. You love Jimmy Fayla. They say Fallon, Jimmy Fayla,
- 29:04Speaker 2: Jimmy Fallon wouldn't be so hot. But it's Jimmy Fayla,
- 29:07Speaker 2: who's much funnier than Jimmy Fallon. Great comedian, great talk
- 29:10Speaker 2: show hosts. But it's every weeknight. You can hear it
- 29:13Speaker 2: tonight nine to midnight right here on seven to ten WR.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Mister New York Marcellone on WR, Well, Hey, you know
- 29:25Speaker 1: we're talking about the New Jersey governor's race, Chitarelli versus
- 29:27Speaker 1: Mikey Cheryl.
- 29:28Speaker 2: You know they've spent seventy two million dollars already on
- 29:34Speaker 2: this governor's race. Seventy two million. I think that's an
- 29:37Speaker 2: all time record for New Jersey governor's race. So, hey,
- 29:41Speaker 2: you're talking before about Jimmy Kimmel has said he would
- 29:45Speaker 2: love to have President Trump on his show. Now the
- 29:47Speaker 2: problem is, if Trump does that, it'll get record ratings.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Kimmel's show is very low rated, usually in third place.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Why give him such big ratings? And then they said,
- 29:57Speaker 2: I think the biggest ratings in the history of Late
- 29:59Speaker 2: night was Tiny Tim's wedding nineteen sixty nine. The Tonight Show.
- 30:04Speaker 2: They've got forty nine million people forty nine million on
- 30:09Speaker 2: the Tonight Show. But it turns out the record is
- 30:11Speaker 2: was actually Carson's final show when he signed off in
- 30:14Speaker 2: nineteen ninety two. That got fifty five million people. Fifty
- 30:19Speaker 2: five million. Think about that, fifty five million watching Carson
- 30:24Speaker 2: sign off and Seth Meyers now with the five hundred
- 30:27Speaker 2: thousand people, or Jimmy Kimmel number one with one point
- 30:31Speaker 2: two million people. Times have changed. Hey, we're out of time,
- 30:36Speaker 2: but I'll be back Monday ten to noon. Hey, if
- 30:38Speaker 2: you're a podcast listener, you listen to podcast on the weekends,
- 30:42Speaker 2: there's a bonus segment so you get to hear a
- 30:44Speaker 2: more show that wasn't on the air otherwise. I'm here
- 30:47Speaker 2: every weekday ten to noon. Don't go away. Buck and
- 30:50Speaker 2: Clay are coming up next. And if you can't listen
- 30:53Speaker 2: live ten to noon, you can listen on the podcast.
- 30:57Speaker 2: If you're a podcast listener, you can hear the show
- 30:58Speaker 2: whenever you want, day or night right. So have a
- 31:01Speaker 2: great weekend. Talk to you Monday on seven ten wor
