  And I also think like this is just a perfect sign from the

  betting gods that just NBA is terrible to bet on because I

  It's because you can spend all day capping a game, getting a

  great number, having a great edge, then what happens?

  But again, that's why the NBA to me is just so frustrating and

  It's not like the NFL and I don't know how you can bet on a

  of the tickets. So I don't want to waste my time

  on these games that don't matter too much.

  Let's focus on the big ones that do matter.

  So first, but on the board, 6:40 PM Eastern.

  Time UMBC facing. Howard Now let's set the stage.

  Talk splits, line movement, system matches and I'll give you

  my play for this first 4 matchup.

  Now as I mentioned earlier. Both these teams are. 16 seeds.

  And they will be a lamb to the slaughter most likely.

  Because if they. Whoever wins, they're going to

  face #1 Michigan in the second round.

  Now, little background. On these teams, UMBC went 24 and

  8:00 during the season. They've won 12.

  Straight, they're red hot. They just brushed aside Vermont

  41 out. I'm a former UVM alum.

  But they beat. Vermont 74 to. 59.

  To win the America East tournament covered.

  Easily as a 2. Point neutral site favorite.

  Meanwhile, Howard 23 and 10 on the year.

  They have won eight in a row. And just beat NC.

  Central, 70 to 60. Three to win the.

  MIAC tournament didn't cover, though they're favored by 11 1/2

  in that one, so just sitting across the market for this first

  4 matchup. Well, this game opened with UMBC

  listed as high. As a 2 1/2 point neutral site

  favorite and the public is saying.

  Hammer, Hammer, Hammer UMBC. They got the better record, 24

  It's a short number. Don't even think about it.

  Play the team with the better record.

  So right now at DraftKings, 73% of spread bets are laying the

  points here in favor of. UMBC.

  However, what's very interesting.

  Is that even though the public is hammering UMBC, the.

  Retrievers. This line is not.

  Up to UMBC minus. Two and half to -3 to minus. 4

  Nope, it's actually plummeted and even.

  Hopped the fence toward Howard. So even though Howard.

  Is only getting 27% of spread bets.

  They've gone from plus 2 1/2 down to plus one and a half.

  A lot of books are out of pick them and a few other books are

  even at -1 or even -1 1/2 Howard.

  So this line is completely. Tumbled away from UMBC.

  And toward Howard. And that is what we call a

  reverse line move. Because even though the public

  is hammering UMBC. The line is only fallen toward

  Howard and even hopped the fence and gone dog to faith.

  So even if we take. Away that sharp reverse line

  movement again, have you betting?

  indicator, Smart money taking. Position, even if we just throw

  a great contrarian play. So take away the sharp line

  I know this one is on Tru TV so it's not like an ESPN or.

  but it's going to be on every bar and you're going to have to

  Easier but still heavily back game.

  First game of March Madness. Everyone's excited to sweat it.

  So right off the bat, Contrarian plays to take Howard.

  What do we always talk about on the pod?

  Can't just take every contrarian play and expect to be a winning

  standpoint because you know that you're on the side of the house.

  Element of smart money and that we're is what we're seeing with

  this line falling and even hopping the fence toward Howard

  even though public is on UMBC. Now if we go to Circa, so it's

  there Howard Bison very very contrarian at DraftKings only

  27% bets but over at Circa 40% of spread bets are on Howard.

  But get a load of this 72% of spread dollars are on Howard.

  So low bets higher dollars and in particular coming from Circa

  out in Vegas where a lot of wise guys are at.

  Now here's the thing. This line is kind of all over

  the place. I see Howard plus 1 1/2 at quite

  a few books. I also see Howard at a pic.

  Odds makers are saying it could be a very close game.

  Now, some advantages here for Howard Better.

  And 92nd for UMBC. Howard has the better offensive

  rebound percentage, 20th in the country, 1st 300 and. 40th for

  UMBC. Howard holds their opponents to

  a better effective field goal percentage, making it harder to

  make your shots. They rank 30th versus 75th for

  the Retrievers, and Howard forces more turnovers on

  defense. Believe it or not, Howard ranks

  8th best in the country. Top 10 enforcing turnovers.

  UMBC ranks 200 and 72nd. I also read doing some research

  on this game I think Howard is. They've now made the.

  NCAA Tournament 3 of the last four years or something like

  that. So hey, maybe a cherry on top

  won't be too bright for them. So Long story short, everyone's

  playing UMBC, but we can go contrarian and follow a really

  sharp reverse line move by taking Howard.

  So you think of Texas has this big powerhouse, the Longhorns,

  but they really struggled down the stretch.

  They're only four games above 500.

  They lost the Ole Miss in the first round of the SEC.

  But anyway, open at a pick and game and the public doesn't know

  what to do. So 5050 right down the middle

  NC State has the better. Record Publix, you know they

  can't decide who to take. Care.
