- 1:26Speaker 2: twenty and they aware a whizz So yeah, it's too bad,
- 1:30Speaker 2: but what did you expect. It's a podcast called twenty
- 1:34Speaker 2: five Whistles.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Twenty wine Win, Make you.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Guys, twenty five Whistles. Make sure out a Draftking sportsbook.
- 1:42Speaker 1: So flag football is gonna be featured in the Olympics
- 1:44Speaker 1: of twenty twenty eight, but the flag football players that
- 1:47Speaker 1: are currently playing are all disrespected because people are like,
- 1:51Speaker 1: the NFL are going to play, and they're all like,
- 1:54Speaker 1: why do you think they'd play? We're good?
- 1:56Speaker 4: No, no, I remember seeing the lists to people we
- 1:59Speaker 4: didn't even know It's hilarious.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Guys, you're playing fla footba because you couldn't play fotball, correct,
- 2:03Speaker 1: Like if you could play at a high level like
- 2:06Speaker 1: the NFL, you would be doing that paid.
- 2:08Speaker 4: But it is a little different, right, Like you don't
- 2:10Speaker 4: have to be two hundred and fifty pounds.
- 2:12Speaker 1: No, But I think the players though that are fast
- 2:15Speaker 1: skill players. Sure yeah, will be the ones that should
- 2:17Speaker 1: play flag football if they won't have tryouts. Okay, but
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'll read you the story from the Athletic flag football
- 2:23Speaker 1: twenty twenty Olympics. Darryl hush to Seti's a current US
- 2:29Speaker 1: flag football quarterback, says it's disrespectful to automatically assume NFL
- 2:33Speaker 1: players will automatically just join the US Olympics because that's
- 2:36Speaker 1: who they are. He says they didn't help grow the
- 2:39Speaker 1: game to get to the Olympics and suggest people quote,
- 2:41Speaker 1: give the guys who help get this game to where
- 2:43Speaker 1: it is at their respect. As far as the NFL ers,
- 2:46Speaker 1: he says, the nfler he says, they're gonna have to
- 2:48Speaker 1: go out there and compete whatever. So here's the thing
- 2:50Speaker 1: about flag football, Well, I don't know what level it is.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I never heard of any professional flag football league. I
- 2:54Speaker 1: don't They must not have done a good job of
- 2:56Speaker 1: getting to a level because I don't know who these
- 2:57Speaker 1: people are, but any flag football level that has gotten
- 3:00Speaker 1: anywhere because the NFL is so popular. Yeah, and then
- 3:03Speaker 1: flag football is secondary. Yeah. So this guy's hilarious. I
- 3:09Speaker 1: like that he's speaking out. I like that.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Yeah, but bro, look, we want we want the NFL
- 3:14Speaker 4: players to play what.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Would be like the college players back before the dream
- 3:19Speaker 1: team the Georgetown head basketball coach for a long time. Yeah, no,
- 3:27Speaker 1: old old coach too. Yes, so uh he was the
- 3:31Speaker 1: head coach of like the eighties, Yes, John Thompson, thank you.
- 3:34Speaker 1: He was like the eighty that coach of the eighty
- 3:36Speaker 1: eight Olympic college team, right, and they didn't win, And
- 3:40Speaker 1: so ninety two went in as a dream team and
- 3:42Speaker 1: they won. But it would be like those college hs
- 3:44Speaker 1: going like, no, we got us here, Jordan Byrd, come magic.
- 3:47Speaker 1: You guys have to earn this. Yeah, now, bro, we
- 3:51Speaker 1: want my homes. There's a reason that they're so.
- 3:54Speaker 5: I thought this guy was like Lamar, I mean imagine Tyreek.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yeah, Kerry, just run, Dominatet.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Just run. That's all you need to do.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Just as a quarterback, even Tyreek. Yeah, just take the
- 4:03Speaker 1: ball and run. Yeah, yes, it's gonna be a whole
- 4:06Speaker 1: different game because the read if those guys, any of
- 4:08Speaker 1: those flaggers could play in the NFL, they would be
- 4:10Speaker 1: playing in the NFL. Yeah, they're not making a statement
- 4:13Speaker 1: by playing in flag to make flag a better game.
- 4:15Speaker 1: They're only playing a flag because they enjoy football and
- 4:18Speaker 1: wish they could have made it at a higher level.
- 4:19Speaker 5: You know what, respect though?
- 4:22Speaker 1: Is there no MVP odds for twenty twenty four from
- 4:25Speaker 1: DraftKings Patrick Mahomes at four to seventy five plus four
- 4:30Speaker 1: seventy five at number one. That's a good bet. MVP
- 4:34Speaker 1: is tough. Last year at a buddy that said, for sure,
- 4:37Speaker 1: bet a thousand bucks on Dak Prescott to be the MVP,
- 4:40Speaker 1: and he was. Yeah, he was the leader. He was
- 4:42Speaker 1: a leader. I've had a thousand bucks and then he
- 4:44Speaker 1: was not. He did not win MVP. He's pretty terrible,
- 4:47Speaker 1: very terrible. Who else he thinks in the top five?
- 4:50Speaker 1: Eddie Lamar Lamar is not in the top five. Interest
- 4:54Speaker 1: he's at number nine to plus eighteen hundred. It's going
- 4:57Speaker 1: to be tough now, No, just because it's gonna be
- 5:01Speaker 1: tough for a wide receiver to win MVP because it's
- 5:03Speaker 1: such a quarterback award. I don't. I bet you there's
- 5:05Speaker 1: nobody on this list. If I go top fifteen at
- 5:08Speaker 1: number eighteen, is Christian McCaffrey at plus four thousand. That's
- 5:12Speaker 1: the number one. Okay, So Burrow's on there. Yeah, Burrow's
- 5:15Speaker 1: number four. Where Patrick Patrick is it? Yeah? Is Rogers
- 5:21Speaker 1: on there? Aaron Rodgers? Okay? And we got Josh Allen. Okay,
- 5:27Speaker 1: here we go. Patrick Mahomes have won. Josh Allen at two? Yeah,
- 5:30Speaker 1: Joe Burrow at four? What are you missing at three?
- 5:33Speaker 1: At three? We are missing? Oh wow, they have Dak
- 5:38Speaker 1: Prescott at three. Oh my gosh, No they don't. It's okay,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I guess yeah, yeah. Justin Herbert, No, no, Herbert is
- 5:48Speaker 1: a number fifteen. It's gonna be tough for Herbert in
- 5:51Speaker 1: an offense that they run the ball a lot more.
- 5:53Speaker 1: That's what's gonna happen, mostly with the hardball being the
- 5:55Speaker 1: head coach there U C. J. Stroud Rookie the Year
- 5:58Speaker 1: last year, he's number three a plus a fifty. So
- 6:01Speaker 1: you got Mahomes, Alan Stroud, Burrough, Jordan Love at five.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Boy there, I know they're paying him, they're hopping him up,
- 6:08Speaker 1: they're happening a lot. Well, he had a great second
- 6:10Speaker 1: half of the year, second half of the years. Sure,
- 6:12Speaker 1: it's amazing, but yeah, that's hot him and Jalen Hurts.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I don't think he deserves to be where Jalen Hurts is. No, no,
- 6:19Speaker 1: it does not. But the public sets the betting market.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I guess it's set by the makers. But then the
- 6:27Speaker 1: public didn't kind of reset the movie.
- 6:28Speaker 5: You think Lamar so low because back to back is
- 6:30Speaker 5: just tough. Probably it kind of hurts the right.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Angela and Joel lead, which meant back in the day,
- 6:35Speaker 1: which was like hottest woman every year, they wouldn't give
- 6:38Speaker 1: it to her anymore some reason. Bill Belichick winting a
- 6:40Speaker 1: Coach of the Year. Yeah, and they'd be like, we're
- 6:42Speaker 1: not give it to Belichick again, Lebron MVP. Why don't
- 6:45Speaker 1: get every CMA. That's exactly why. That's what it is. Yeah.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So it's like they also have a rule where you
- 6:51Speaker 1: can't get up it every other year. Yeah, yeah, they do.
- 6:53Speaker 5: That's a real thing.
- 6:54Speaker 1: That is the real thing. So dac a date Lamar
- 6:57Speaker 1: and nine brock perty at ten. This is Brock's money
- 6:59Speaker 1: or two brought pretty like this is the year he's
- 7:01Speaker 1: gonna have to make his money. Yep, and he's not
- 7:03Speaker 1: looking good so far. Dude. He played with the second
- 7:05Speaker 1: and third straight. I don't watch any pre season. I
- 7:07Speaker 1: went back when Eddie was talking about how bad brock
- 7:09Speaker 1: Party looked. I went back to see why he did
- 7:12Speaker 1: not play with any starters. He played with all junk players.
- 7:15Speaker 1: People aren't even gonna make the fifty three man roster.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Throws weren't even catchable. Dude, care Yeah, so uh to
- 7:20Speaker 1: finish it out Jared Goff at eleven, two, at twelve,
- 7:22Speaker 1: Anthony Richardson at thirteen, Trevor Lawrence at fourteen. In the
- 7:25Speaker 1: tie for fifteen is Stafford and Herbert like low key?
- 7:29Speaker 1: That Stafford at fifteen plus three thousand? You like that one? Sure?
- 7:32Speaker 1: I mean for the odds, he's been there before. For
- 7:34Speaker 1: the odds. Where's Will Levis Man? I don't know. Let's
- 7:44Speaker 1: go over and talk with ESPN insider Adam Schefter from
- 7:48Speaker 1: our time in New York. Adam is one of the best,
- 7:50Speaker 1: one of the most famous. He had multiple phones. It
- 7:52Speaker 1: was a whole thing. Adam Schefter, You can follow him
- 7:55Speaker 1: on Twitter to keep up here. He is Adam Schefter
- 7:58Speaker 1: here with that who is the nicest guy in the
- 8:00Speaker 1: whole world, because we watched him talk to every single
- 8:02Speaker 1: person for like ten minutes. Yes, I paintain eye contact
- 8:04Speaker 1: and like, see, you're like the nicest dude ever.
- 8:07Speaker 6: You missed thirty minutes of it on the way here,
- 8:09Speaker 6: I know we didn't.
- 8:10Speaker 1: We walked. We were like, that's the kindest guy. So
- 8:13Speaker 1: thank you for the time, my pleasure to be here. Okay,
- 8:15Speaker 1: I want to start with and let's just get right
- 8:17Speaker 1: to it. JJ McCarthy's hurt. He's out for a year.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Did they think initially when that happened it was going
- 8:22Speaker 1: to be so severe? The meniscus there?
- 8:25Speaker 6: You know, I'll say this to you. It was on
- 8:28Speaker 6: Monday night.
- 8:28Speaker 7: You hear that he's not practicing, that he's got some
- 8:32Speaker 7: discomfort in the knee, and I thought that's not a
- 8:35Speaker 7: good sign. And then on Tuesday morning, it was very odd.
- 8:39Speaker 7: I started getting a flood of messages from a flood
- 8:43Speaker 7: of different people on Instagram.
- 8:45Speaker 6: And believe me, that's not how I usually get my information.
- 8:48Speaker 7: But all of a sudden, all these people were sending
- 8:50Speaker 7: me these messages that JJ McCarthy was out for the year,
- 8:53Speaker 7: and I'm like out for the year, and I started
- 8:55Speaker 7: making calls. Now their information was partially correct because they
- 8:58Speaker 7: said he a torn mcl out for the year. There
- 9:01Speaker 7: are multiple messages I got. When I started making calls,
- 9:06Speaker 7: I could tell something was wrong, and it turned out
- 9:08Speaker 7: that he had meniscus injury and the doctor surgery was
- 9:13Speaker 7: going to determine whether it was going to be a trim,
- 9:18Speaker 7: which would have been weeks, or repair, which would have
- 9:20Speaker 7: been months. But I will say going in, my suspicion
- 9:24Speaker 7: was it was going to be a repair because I
- 9:25Speaker 7: had so many messages and I think that they had
- 9:28Speaker 7: some hope that they would be able to trim it.
- 9:30Speaker 7: But once they went in there, they figured that the
- 9:32Speaker 7: best course of action for a young player like that
- 9:35Speaker 7: with a great future is to repair it. And that's
- 9:37Speaker 7: what they did. And he's out for the year. Once
- 9:39Speaker 7: you put him on IR, he's done for the season.
- 9:41Speaker 6: He shut down. So that's it, Adam.
- 9:43Speaker 4: When you get the info, what's the process before you
- 9:46Speaker 4: go public with it? You're like, Oh, I got the info,
- 9:47Speaker 4: do you go immediately or we got to start?
- 9:49Speaker 7: Well, you got to make sure that everything's accurate. You
- 9:51Speaker 7: have to confirm it all and make sure that it's right.
- 9:53Speaker 7: I'm not going to just put out information when these
- 9:55Speaker 7: fans are indiscriminately bombing me with this information that JJ's
- 10:00Speaker 7: out for the year, because ultimately that turned out to
- 10:03Speaker 7: be the case. But there were steps to get through
- 10:06Speaker 7: before you could actually say he's out for the year again.
- 10:09Speaker 7: First it's he's got the need discomfort. Then he's having
- 10:12Speaker 7: the MRI on Monday night. Then they're gonna have knee
- 10:15Speaker 7: surgery for Wednesday morning. Then they have to figure out
- 10:17Speaker 7: what they have to do. Then they sees out for
- 10:19Speaker 7: the year. So there's a lot of steps. It's not
- 10:21Speaker 7: just as simple as a black and white situation.
- 10:24Speaker 1: With the Dallas Cowboys, they've got three contracts. All three
- 10:28Speaker 1: of those contracts will be massive contracts. Will they be
- 10:31Speaker 1: able to afford anybody else?
- 10:32Speaker 6: Will they play three man football? You know you could
- 10:36Speaker 6: do that.
- 10:36Speaker 7: I would say this that if Dak deal gets done,
- 10:40Speaker 7: and we'll see whether it does or a dozen, that's
- 10:42Speaker 7: gonna be the one that cuts into their ability to
- 10:45Speaker 7: spend on other players because that deal is going to
- 10:47Speaker 7: be so massive.
- 10:48Speaker 1: But would that be before that ceedee Lamb or the
- 10:50Speaker 1: Mica deal, though I'd be surprised.
- 10:52Speaker 7: I know Dak struck a tone on Friday where he
- 10:55Speaker 7: was saying talks were going, well, he's in a great spot.
- 10:58Speaker 7: Dak's in a great spot period, whether he there's the
- 11:00Speaker 7: deal in Dallas now, before the season, during the season,
- 11:03Speaker 7: after the season, or with another team.
- 11:05Speaker 6: Like Dak is going to be when that deal.
- 11:08Speaker 7: Gets done, whether it's Dallas or anybody else, he's going
- 11:11Speaker 7: to become the highest paid player in NFL history.
- 11:15Speaker 6: So he's in a great spot.
- 11:16Speaker 1: But they're gonna have to do some origami to figure
- 11:19Speaker 1: out how to pay all those guys.
- 11:20Speaker 7: Right, they knew, they knew the CD Lamb deal is coming,
- 11:24Speaker 7: and you're talking about arguing over a million or two
- 11:27Speaker 7: dollars like that. That deal is getting done, and they
- 11:29Speaker 7: knew what it was going to be. They know that
- 11:31Speaker 7: Dak deals coming if they can get it done. The
- 11:36Speaker 7: Micah Parsons deal, Jerry's been talking about for over a
- 11:38Speaker 7: year now. So it's not like these deals are blind
- 11:41Speaker 7: siding them.
- 11:42Speaker 6: It's just going to restrict breaking news. It's just going
- 11:47Speaker 6: to restrict their ability.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Breaking news a pot roast.
- 11:51Speaker 4: It's from home and trash back. Yes, hey, out of
- 11:56Speaker 4: the phones. I've always been interested in the phones you have?
- 11:59Speaker 4: How any phones on you at all times?
- 12:01Speaker 8: Too?
- 12:02Speaker 7: I bring two phones right now, I have this phone
- 12:04Speaker 7: and my daughter is actually manning the other phone right there.
- 12:07Speaker 7: She's taking pictures to post Instagram stories.
- 12:10Speaker 6: So that's not the way.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Yeah, so one, I mean, what's the how do you
- 12:15Speaker 4: give someone?
- 12:15Speaker 1: Which number do you give them first? Is it the Yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 1: this is.
- 12:19Speaker 7: My primary phone, my secondary phone. I'm not even sure
- 12:23Speaker 7: of the number, be honest with you. And and and
- 12:26Speaker 7: like you know what, like the JJ McCarthy when he
- 12:28Speaker 7: was having any surgery, I had everything, it was on
- 12:31Speaker 7: this phone and I went to go file it. I
- 12:33Speaker 7: was in the airport in Boston on Wednesday, and nothing
- 12:36Speaker 7: was going through. And I'm pressing send for ten minutes,
- 12:39Speaker 7: like and it's just a line like it won't post.
- 12:43Speaker 6: I'm like, go post post man. It wasn't posting.
- 12:46Speaker 7: So I had to retype everything on my other phone
- 12:49Speaker 7: and then send it on the other phone.
- 12:50Speaker 6: That's that's why my problem is.
- 12:52Speaker 7: That's why I'm a second phone, because you know, this
- 12:54Speaker 7: one is I don't even know the providers.
- 12:57Speaker 6: One of them is Veris and one.
- 12:58Speaker 7: Of them is att and and you have different phone carriers,
- 13:02Speaker 7: different issues like that, and that's how you do it.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Anyone with the typical text him now to one now
- 13:06Speaker 1: we don't know you number, So I wouldn't that be
- 13:11Speaker 1: fine to get remember like an eight hundred hot line number.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Let's talk about Joe Burrow for a second. Not a
- 13:15Speaker 1: typical quarterback injury the last one. He's been hurt every year?
- 13:19Speaker 1: Do they consider him injury prone or very unlucky? And
- 13:22Speaker 1: let's say he gets hurt again, then do they go, well,
- 13:24Speaker 1: what's up? Do they go and look for another quarterback
- 13:27Speaker 1: young to draft it young?
- 13:28Speaker 6: I don't think so.
- 13:30Speaker 7: First of all, I think Jake Brown is a pretty
- 13:31Speaker 7: good quarterback, his backup, and they committed so much money
- 13:35Speaker 7: to Joe Borrow.
- 13:35Speaker 6: He's your guy, and you're not moving off Joe.
- 13:37Speaker 7: Burrow even if he gets hurt again, unless it was
- 13:39Speaker 7: some catastrophic injury that would hinder his ability to come
- 13:43Speaker 7: back and be the quarterback lanch like, he's the guy
- 13:45Speaker 7: and you're going to ride him until he can't play anymore.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Or if the horse doesn't have any legs.
- 13:50Speaker 6: Well he's got legs, he's got legs. No, hand, no arms,
- 13:54Speaker 6: he's got arms.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got.
- 13:55Speaker 6: All those things. They're working Like you could say that
- 13:58Speaker 6: for any player.
- 14:00Speaker 1: John I love Joe Burrow, and it's you can say
- 14:02Speaker 1: that for some but Joe's hurt. It's like freak stuff consistently,
- 14:08Speaker 1: even at training camp last year, when he pulls up
- 14:10Speaker 1: and the debate is what did he do? Did he
- 14:12Speaker 1: lose his leg, did he sprain his ankle? And then
- 14:14Speaker 1: the injury that took him out at the end of
- 14:16Speaker 1: the day, like those aren't typical get hit on a
- 14:19Speaker 1: play or pull a hamstring injuries. So Joe Burrow, they
- 14:23Speaker 1: still have the same faith that he can stay healthy
- 14:25Speaker 1: and be the guy.
- 14:25Speaker 7: Yeah, absolutely, I mean and again you have to build
- 14:30Speaker 7: around him anyway. It's like the Jets with Aaron Rodgers.
- 14:33Speaker 7: I mean, you may be he may be worried that
- 14:36Speaker 7: he's forty years old. What are you gonna do? Like,
- 14:38Speaker 7: that's your guy. You committed the money, you committed the resources,
- 14:41Speaker 7: you committed the time. He's your guy. And but again,
- 14:44Speaker 7: I think you could say that for every.
- 14:45Speaker 6: Quarterback in the NFL. We come up with it. Whatevers.
- 14:48Speaker 6: If this guy gets hurt, what havepens? If that guy
- 14:50Speaker 6: can't play this year. Barrow has been hurt in every
- 14:52Speaker 6: five minutes.
- 14:52Speaker 3: I got it.
- 14:53Speaker 7: But you know, Aaron Rodgers last year is coming up
- 14:55Speaker 7: a torn achilles.
- 14:56Speaker 6: He's forty.
- 14:56Speaker 7: Dak Prescotts came up a fractured ankle that time, Like
- 15:00Speaker 7: we could say that for a lot of people. Mahomes
- 15:02Speaker 7: has had ankle injuries in CAF and dislocated kneecaps.
- 15:06Speaker 6: Like it's a violent sport. Guys who can get hurt.
- 15:08Speaker 6: That I agree with. But it's just Burrow just got
- 15:10Speaker 6: hurt again.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I heard. Nope, don't mind. I just thought so used
- 15:14Speaker 1: to hearing it, right. Final three questions, Adam, go ahead, yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Adam, say you were talking about Aaron Rodgers. How much
- 15:19Speaker 4: fun is it to cover Aaron Rodgers? And how weird he.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Is from other weird people, we mean weird career, We're
- 15:25Speaker 1: all interesting.
- 15:27Speaker 6: I don't view it like that.
- 15:28Speaker 7: I view it like last year he goes out there,
- 15:31Speaker 7: everybody in New York is all excited to see what
- 15:33Speaker 7: he's going to do. Jet fans, you actually thought that
- 15:37Speaker 7: there's a chance for the first time in fifty some
- 15:39Speaker 7: odd years that this team's going to get back to
- 15:41Speaker 7: the Super Bowl, and they didn't. I think honestly, people
- 15:45Speaker 7: wanted to see him play and want to see what
- 15:48Speaker 7: he could do for that team, that organization, this city,
- 15:51Speaker 7: and they want to see him be out there. I
- 15:53Speaker 7: want to see him play, Like I'm forget about covering him.
- 15:56Speaker 7: You know, there's a lot of quarterbacks to cover. He's
- 15:57Speaker 7: an interesting guys, He's got some interesting things to say,
- 16:01Speaker 7: but you want to see him out there. Ultimately, we're
- 16:03Speaker 7: interested in him because he's a great quarterback and we
- 16:07Speaker 7: didn't get to see him play quarterback last year. That's
- 16:10Speaker 7: the problem. We want to see him play. He could
- 16:13Speaker 7: say whatever he wants, we could debate the merits of it.
- 16:17Speaker 7: It's all about his play. He's one of the great
- 16:21Speaker 7: old time quarterbacks. That's what you want to see.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Final two questions, what's a fair ceiling for Caleb Williams
- 16:26Speaker 1: and the Bears?
- 16:28Speaker 7: Fairly high? Like, I don't know that they're going to
- 16:31Speaker 7: win a lot this year. I don't want to get
- 16:34Speaker 7: ahead of it. But Number one, I think CJ. Stroud
- 16:37Speaker 7: kind of raised the bar for rookie quarterbacks. But this
- 16:41Speaker 7: guy is incredibly gifted. Now let's see how fast he
- 16:44Speaker 7: can respond. Last year with CJ. Stroud was an abnormality.
- 16:47Speaker 7: Rookie quarterbacks do not usually do that type of thing.
- 16:53Speaker 7: But Caleb Williams got a ton of talent and we'll
- 16:56Speaker 7: see how it's harvested in his first year.
- 16:59Speaker 1: If Caleb Williams did not exist, would Jaden be like
- 17:03Speaker 1: the dude we talked about?
- 17:04Speaker 7: Like and he we still might be talking about it
- 17:06Speaker 7: even with Caleb Williams because there's been enough chatter about
- 17:09Speaker 7: Jaden Daniels and what he Kennon can't do, and there's
- 17:12Speaker 7: enough hope and promise for him that I mean, I'm
- 17:15Speaker 7: not going to be shocked if we come.
- 17:16Speaker 6: Out of this being like, Wow, Jaden Daniels is incredible.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Bonus question speaking of Jade Daniels with guts go to
- 17:22Speaker 1: the Giants, elite neighbors, played LSU together. Yeah, like they
- 17:26Speaker 1: were awesome together. As he's a dude, because that's the reports.
- 17:30Speaker 6: Like even with Daniel Jones, let's say he's just okay, Hey,
- 17:32Speaker 6: let me tell you something. I remember being at the Combine.
- 17:35Speaker 7: The Combine, I'm sitting at dinner with the general manager
- 17:38Speaker 7: and and he goes, let me take a couple of
- 17:40Speaker 7: things right now.
- 17:42Speaker 6: I don't care what other people say elite.
- 17:43Speaker 7: Neighbors is the number one wide receiver in this draft,
- 17:46Speaker 7: ahead of Marvin Harrison Junior. And when I heard him say,
- 17:49Speaker 7: I'm like really, and then I heard it again and
- 17:51Speaker 7: again and again, and there were people that obviously stood
- 17:55Speaker 7: behind Marvin Harrison Junior or Marvin Harrison Junior.
- 17:57Speaker 6: Is gonna have a great NFL career.
- 17:59Speaker 7: This is not a not against Marvin Harrison Junior in
- 18:01Speaker 7: any way, shape or form.
- 18:03Speaker 6: Love the guy.
- 18:04Speaker 7: I'm just saying there were people out there who felt
- 18:07Speaker 7: like Neighbors was the top receiver. There were people out
- 18:09Speaker 7: there who thought Harrison was the top receiver. But it
- 18:12Speaker 7: was not a unanimous situation. And that tells you that
- 18:15Speaker 7: both guys are in line to have great NFL seasons
- 18:19Speaker 7: and careers.
- 18:19Speaker 6: And we really appreciate it, big fans. Thank you, Thank you,
- 18:22Speaker 6: guys my pleasure.

- 19:50Speaker 1: I need to talk to you about something.
- 19:51Speaker 8: Oh gosh, Okay.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Well, I think Reid's priorities are a little out of whack.
- 20:00Speaker 1: So Reid has dedicated his life to working out with
- 20:04Speaker 1: us and getting in shape. We go, I just don't
- 20:08Speaker 1: understand it. Well, So and read when he started like goofy,
- 20:12Speaker 1: baby deer. Yeah, like a giraffe out of the womb, wobbly,
- 20:16Speaker 1: and everybody starts when you start back a little goofy. Again.
- 20:20Speaker 1: We definitely have a specific way we work out, and
- 20:22Speaker 1: it wouldn't matter if my wife takes me to do
- 20:24Speaker 1: some sort of plates class. I'm goofy because I don't
- 20:26Speaker 1: really know what I'm doing in there, and those movements
- 20:28Speaker 1: are all weird. So Reid starts to work out with
- 20:30Speaker 1: us and he just has an exercise at all in years,
- 20:33Speaker 1: which is fine. So it's not even changing workouts, he's
- 20:36Speaker 1: just getting back to it, and read at times can
- 20:38Speaker 1: be somewhat athletic. He's got a good jump shot, and
- 20:42Speaker 1: he can throw a baseball.
- 20:44Speaker 5: In a golf swing.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, good point other times is that baby deer. Yes,
- 20:51Speaker 1: So he starts working out and we love read dearly
- 20:54Speaker 1: and so we're working and read read starting to slow
- 20:57Speaker 1: to get stronger. We can see it in him, and
- 20:59Speaker 1: he like shows up earlier. He's fired up. He doesn't
- 21:02Speaker 1: cry as much. He used to come in every day
- 21:04Speaker 1: and be like Sam had undercook salmon, I don't feel good.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I don't know. He called his stomach his tummy to
- 21:11Speaker 1: have the off to the side conversation of if you
- 21:13Speaker 1: have something that's going to keep you from working out,
- 21:15Speaker 1: don't work out. But if you're going to work out,
- 21:17Speaker 1: you can't complain about what's happening to you as you
- 21:20Speaker 1: work out my tummy, right, But if you literally can't
- 21:24Speaker 1: work out on undercook Salmon. So that's not even where
- 21:29Speaker 1: people read about because he's past that, because because read
- 21:32Speaker 1: is it's like watching our guy. He's like in puberty.
- 21:35Speaker 1: He's like fourteen years old. Now he's strong man from
- 21:37Speaker 1: the womb. We were with him, and so all of
- 21:41Speaker 1: a sudden he's like, it can't work out today, like cool.
- 21:44Speaker 1: There are many reasons that all of us can't work out.
- 21:48Speaker 1: He's like, I won't be able to work out all
- 21:49Speaker 1: this week? Fair enough? This week you having surgery? Like,
- 21:53Speaker 1: what's up? Well, my fiance and a mom were come
- 21:57Speaker 1: into town and we're like, okay, why because it they'll
- 22:02Speaker 1: kill me? Whoa that was his answer? Tell himut his fancy,
- 22:05Speaker 1: He says, she'll kill me. So first I'd like to
- 22:08Speaker 1: ask why you can't work out with us at a
- 22:10Speaker 1: normal time of three o'clock, which is you're not in
- 22:12Speaker 1: the way of dinner or lunch? Did we work out
- 22:14Speaker 1: for ten hours bones one hour and only twice the
- 22:18Speaker 1: whole week while this week we used to go three times.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Only twice this week because I'm not able to go
- 22:24Speaker 1: one of the days, But go ahead. Read.
- 22:26Speaker 9: So, yesterday we had a dinner date planned and then
- 22:30Speaker 9: we went to.
- 22:30Speaker 8: Go see a movie that's great.
- 22:31Speaker 1: What time was dinner?
- 22:32Speaker 8: Dinner? We got there at five point thirty?
- 22:34Speaker 1: Okay, perfect?
- 22:35Speaker 3: Cool?
- 22:35Speaker 1: What times to work out?
- 22:36Speaker 8: Three?
- 22:37Speaker 1: Yeah? So and he's like, she'll kill me. But the
- 22:40Speaker 1: thing is, read, why are you trying to get in shape?
- 22:43Speaker 1: I'm trying to look good for my wedding now, always
- 22:47Speaker 1: tells us. And I don't even think she was killed.
- 22:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest. I don't Eve think it's her thing,
- 22:50Speaker 1: No way. I think it's a hymn thing. And he's
- 22:53Speaker 1: like getting out of it. You can just say I'm
- 22:57Speaker 1: a whiss. Guys, you can just say this undercook salmon
- 23:02Speaker 1: and we'll know the code word.
- 23:04Speaker 8: Hey tonight.
- 23:06Speaker 9: I actually can't though, because of our engagement photos.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, now see we would have
- 23:12Speaker 1: accepted that one what time your photos?
- 23:14Speaker 8: The photos are at four thirty.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I get it can't be fair enough. It's hard to
- 23:19Speaker 1: get un sweats sweaty as Red is God Dag, He's
- 23:21Speaker 1: the sweat sweatest human I've ever seen life.
- 23:24Speaker 4: So Bones has to tell Reid every time, like Reid
- 23:27Speaker 4: gets up from the bench, like, dude, wipe your sweat please,
- 23:29Speaker 4: because it's a pool of sweat.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Dude. Yeah, it doesn't matter if we're ten minutes ent
- 23:32Speaker 1: or fifty. When Reid gets up, it looks like you've
- 23:35Speaker 1: taken a washcloth and wrung it out over wherever he is.
- 23:38Speaker 1: And at first I'm just like, hey, man, just remember
- 23:39Speaker 1: because I have towels for everybody in there, a stack
- 23:42Speaker 1: stacks of towels. So since I have the towels. Hey,
- 23:45Speaker 1: be sure to wipe your sweat before when you get
- 23:46Speaker 1: off the bench press or off the floor. Yeah, it's
- 23:49Speaker 1: like the floor, yeah yeah yeah, And he doesn't. He
- 23:52Speaker 1: just gets up and leaves it all there. But again
- 23:54Speaker 1: we're like, Read's.
- 23:55Speaker 5: New, so let's take it out Connecticut.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, Read, don't forget read. You forgot to get Read.
- 24:02Speaker 1: And it used to be like this with waters, like
- 24:04Speaker 1: he would just come and drink all my water. Like
- 24:07Speaker 1: he would just show up and be like, I guess
- 24:08Speaker 1: all the waters are free is and it's sure you
- 24:10Speaker 1: can have a water too, forget the water, have a water.
- 24:13Speaker 1: But like he would show up and think, no, this
- 24:16Speaker 1: is why, that's where I go to get my waters.
- 24:18Speaker 8: I brought, I brought my jug, I started bringing my Yes.
- 24:20Speaker 1: You learned there. And if you ever forget a water,
- 24:23Speaker 1: as many waters as you need and want, thank you.
- 24:24Speaker 1: But his assumption was I just go to Bobby's get
- 24:26Speaker 1: my waters. Gotcha. And then wherever he sweats, everybody else
- 24:31Speaker 1: just wants to lay in it or clean it up themselves.
- 24:34Speaker 1: So we've been working with him on this. Did you
- 24:36Speaker 1: yell at him the other day? What happened?
- 24:38Speaker 6: Did though?
- 24:38Speaker 1: He was like read clean your sweat up. It's like
- 24:43Speaker 1: my kids like they always say, like, Dad, why are
- 24:44Speaker 1: you yelling at me? Oh? You want to know why
- 24:46Speaker 1: I'm yelling.
- 24:46Speaker 4: At you because you didn't hear me the first twenty
- 24:48Speaker 4: times I asked him to do this.
- 24:50Speaker 1: And I don't even know that Reid knows he sweats
- 24:52Speaker 1: so much, or now he does because we've did you know,
- 24:54Speaker 1: you such just water?
- 24:54Speaker 8: Oh I knew it.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, but then why would you not?
- 24:59Speaker 9: I'd you just I was trying to get through the
- 25:01Speaker 9: workout and it just did not cross my mind.
- 25:03Speaker 8: I'm just like on to the next thing.
- 25:04Speaker 1: And now now you do, though, And you know what,
- 25:07Speaker 1: as a person, you're not a selfis person. You're actually
- 25:09Speaker 1: really good person. But sometimes, yeah, you blame your fiance. Yeah,
- 25:16Speaker 1: he loves to say she'll kill me. Yeah, I love
- 25:18Speaker 1: to say that.
- 25:18Speaker 8: We haven't seen each other in a month and a half.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Okay, but are you getting ready for your wedding? And
- 25:22Speaker 1: it's one hour, that's fair, And it's when I.
- 25:25Speaker 9: Drove thirty minutes there and then we work out for
- 25:27Speaker 9: an hour thirty minutes back and then.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I got a shower. You can still do it. You
- 25:31Speaker 1: just don't want to do it.
- 25:32Speaker 8: I mean yeah, yeah, it was a good excuse too,
- 25:35Speaker 8: for sure.
- 25:36Speaker 5: Do you ever get your own in, like run around
- 25:38Speaker 5: your neighborhood anything like that? Like sometimes I can't workout
- 25:42Speaker 5: and I'm like, you know what, I'll go for even
- 25:43Speaker 5: like a two mile run.
- 25:44Speaker 1: That's great, that's it.
- 25:45Speaker 8: Since we started working out, No, I haven't.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Wait, but that's that isn't that? Also since you started
- 25:50Speaker 1: working out again? Yeah, So the answer has always been yeah, yeah,
- 25:54Speaker 1: that's a funny way to afraid since because we started
- 25:57Speaker 1: no no, no, no, what about before? I'll also know? No,
- 26:03Speaker 1: So our while we were laughing when you weren't around,
- 26:05Speaker 1: is because you're like, I have to get in shape
- 26:07Speaker 1: for my wedding. But then the person comes that you're
- 26:08Speaker 1: getting married to, and then you use her as an
- 26:10Speaker 1: excuse to not work out. It just felt a little hypocritical.
- 26:14Speaker 1: So then we determined it wasn't her fault at all.
- 26:16Speaker 1: It was just yours. That's right, that's right. So you
- 26:19Speaker 1: admit it.
- 26:19Speaker 8: I admit it.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Yeah, And so it was, and everything's going for everything's
- 26:24Speaker 1: going pretty good. But you guys, other than that, yeah,
- 26:26Speaker 1: it's her mom staying in your house.
- 26:27Speaker 8: Yep, she is. We cleaned up the house.
- 26:30Speaker 9: Yeah, dude, he's so, me and Mattie are going to
- 26:32Speaker 9: Jeff Rubies tonight and he's gonna take her mom out.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Yeah what what? Yeah some Zach Wilson stuff.
- 26:42Speaker 5: Where they go?
- 26:43Speaker 8: What are they actually?
- 26:44Speaker 9: He said he's going to ask her and we talked
- 26:46Speaker 9: to him to her mom, and so I'm not sure
- 26:48Speaker 9: what they'll.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Do, but they're gonna hang out something. Yeah, just hang out.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Though they're not like going on a date.
- 26:54Speaker 8: No, not go on a date.
- 26:55Speaker 1: They just hang out. It is her mom married still, yeah, okay,
- 26:58Speaker 1: got it, got it, got it? Her mom younger.
- 27:02Speaker 8: Yeah, she's the late forties.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Okay, Dawes, but no she's still. Okay. Yeah, what are
- 27:10Speaker 1: we going to do here? What do we learned from this?
- 27:12Speaker 9: I'm gonna not take any excuses and well, excuses and
- 27:18Speaker 9: reasons are different.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. If you have reasons, there are reasons
- 27:22Speaker 1: you can't do a lot of things like reality real
- 27:25Speaker 1: life happens sometimes, or reasons you can't do a lot
- 27:27Speaker 1: of things in life, that's true. Excuses are different. Excuses
- 27:30Speaker 1: for example, are.
- 27:33Speaker 9: Unexcusable cook salmon my tummy, that's true.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Or she'll kill me, yeah, when in reality you're only
- 27:41Speaker 1: doing it for her the Big Three.
- 27:43Speaker 8: Yeah for sure.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Okay, So that's what we learned here. There are difference
- 27:45Speaker 1: and differences and reasons and excuses, reasons, you can have excuses.
- 27:49Speaker 1: We're eliminating.
- 27:51Speaker 4: I'm also learning that there's no validity to she's gonna
- 27:54Speaker 4: kill me, because he kind of uses that as always
- 27:57Speaker 4: just an excuse.
- 27:58Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean she will, she would be a you know, upset,
- 28:02Speaker 9: Like if she's upset, that's a bad thing because then
- 28:04Speaker 9: it's like, okay, lot codependency here, Yeah, do.
- 28:09Speaker 1: You know what codependency is?
- 28:10Speaker 8: No?
- 28:10Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, thank you. Now we're gonna get over and
- 28:16Speaker 1: talk with ESPN's NFL senior writer and fantasy football expert
- 28:20Speaker 1: Mike Clay. Mike's on such shows a Sports Center, Fantasy Football, Now,
- 28:23Speaker 1: NFL Ive, and a whole bunch more. He has great
- 28:26Speaker 1: fantasy inside his great stuff online at Mike Clay NFL.
- 28:30Speaker 1: To keep up Hereios Mike Clay, Hey, Mike, how's it going.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Hey, I'm doing well.
- 28:34Speaker 1: How are you? Hey? Good? Appreciate the time. Mike has
- 28:36Speaker 1: a bunch of content available on ESPN Plus It's Mike
- 28:38Speaker 1: Clay's Ultimate Draft Board Sleeper watch the one ninety two
- 28:42Speaker 1: and touchdown projections. I'm an ESPN Plus subscriber. I pay
- 28:45Speaker 1: the money. I get the message an email every single
- 28:47Speaker 1: time that someone has logged into my Disney account, which
- 28:49Speaker 1: is what it says every time I log into my
- 28:51Speaker 1: ESPN Plus. So thanks for coming on a lot of
- 28:54Speaker 1: fantasy questions for us. It's draft time, so your demand
- 28:58Speaker 1: has never been any heavier with us. You have two
- 29:01Speaker 1: running backs in your top three. Now. Back in the day,
- 29:04Speaker 1: we should drift running backs like crazy, it's like limited.
- 29:06Speaker 1: But then it's become so wide receiver frenzied with the
- 29:09Speaker 1: top guys with I think Byjon and Breese are in
- 29:12Speaker 1: your top maybe three out of three is your top
- 29:14Speaker 1: three McCaffrey, Breese and Bjon. Is that right? Yeah?
- 29:17Speaker 3: It sure is. And look it's positional scarcity at this point.
- 29:21Speaker 3: There are just so many good wide receivers. The depth
- 29:25Speaker 3: at quarterback and tight end is so good right now
- 29:28Speaker 3: that I just look at the running back spot and
- 29:30Speaker 3: I say, if I'm picking early in the first round,
- 29:32Speaker 3: I can get one of the big three. The three
- 29:34Speaker 3: you just laid out SMC, Bjon and breis Hall and
- 29:37Speaker 3: just feel so good about that position. I'm just set.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I have one of the very few. So I mean,
- 29:43Speaker 3: CMC's on his own level. I know he's twenty eight now,
- 29:45Speaker 3: not fully healthy at this particular moment, but he's on
- 29:47Speaker 3: his own level. And then the other two are so young,
- 29:49Speaker 3: they're up and coming guys that could they they're the
- 29:52Speaker 3: two best candidates to outscore CMC this year. So if
- 29:55Speaker 3: I get one of those guys right out of the gate,
- 29:56Speaker 3: you feel great about that.
- 29:57Speaker 1: I feel like what's old is new as old as
- 29:59Speaker 1: new again because this used to be what we would
- 30:01Speaker 1: do seven, eight, nine years ago. Where was there only
- 30:04Speaker 1: a certain amount of army ones and let's grab them
- 30:08Speaker 1: all because eventually we're gonna be fighting for scrum and
- 30:11Speaker 1: there are plenty of wide receivers. But now it's that
- 30:13Speaker 1: wide receivers. There are so many good ones, not even
- 30:16Speaker 1: that there are just so many, there are so many
- 30:17Speaker 1: good ones. You ceedee Lamb with his holdout, do you
- 30:21Speaker 1: feel like that will affect him week one, week two
- 30:24Speaker 1: of the season if they do sign him, Like, will
- 30:26Speaker 1: he be ready to go or will there be a
- 30:27Speaker 1: warm up process?
- 30:29Speaker 3: He might come out a little slow, but here's the thing.
- 30:32Speaker 3: It doesn't matter, and we saw evidence of that last season.
- 30:35Speaker 3: The first six weeks of the season, he was not
- 30:37Speaker 3: doing very good from a fantasy perspective. Then Dallas had
- 30:40Speaker 3: their Week seven by when they came back, the light
- 30:43Speaker 3: went on for Dak Prescott and ceedde lamp. From that
- 30:46Speaker 3: point forward, Ceedee Lamb had three hundred and fourteen Fantasy points.
- 30:50Speaker 3: If that was just his total for the entire season,
- 30:53Speaker 3: he would have finished wide receiver three. That's how dominant
- 30:56Speaker 3: he was from that point forward. It is unbelievable. Twenty
- 30:58Speaker 3: eight and a half fantasy points per game. Respective Tyreek
- 31:01Speaker 3: Hill during that span average about a little over twenty
- 31:03Speaker 3: points per game. He just crushed it. So we've already
- 31:06Speaker 3: seen seelamb got off to a slow start and crushed
- 31:08Speaker 3: it for fantasy. Even if that happens this year, it
- 31:11Speaker 3: doesn't affect me at all. He's fourths overall on my board.
- 31:13Speaker 1: You can't predict injuries, and especially when you look at
- 31:16Speaker 1: the top players on any board, but especially yours, they
- 31:20Speaker 1: all have a bit of injury associated with them, right,
- 31:23Speaker 1: which makes it extremely difficult. I mean McCaffrey, until his
- 31:26Speaker 1: year with forty nine ers, he was hurt every year,
- 31:27Speaker 1: But I probably wouldn't come back to the Panthers either.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I'd have been like, my elbow hurts. You know. So
- 31:32Speaker 1: Breece Hall heard his rookie year like came out. Bijean
- 31:36Speaker 1: was hurt last year, Ceedee lamb Tyreek is small had
- 31:40Speaker 1: some time a mon ros Saint Brown had a rib injury, Like,
- 31:42Speaker 1: let's go to a mon Saint Brown. Apparently that injury
- 31:47Speaker 1: was way worse than we knew about. And he still
- 31:49Speaker 1: had a heck of a year last year. You feel
- 31:51Speaker 1: pretty good about him the year.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I love him. He was outstanding last season. He
- 31:54Speaker 3: used to emerge as a guy that has a high
- 31:56Speaker 3: floor and a high ceiling. The high floor comes from
- 31:58Speaker 3: just massive volume in the shore to inner immediate rang
- 32:00Speaker 3: So you know they're going to get the ball in
- 32:01Speaker 3: his hands as often as they possibly can in the ceiling.
- 32:04Speaker 3: We've seen it. You know, he pushed here. He he
- 32:05Speaker 3: had double digit touchdowns last season. If he could do that,
- 32:08Speaker 3: you're the whole package in fantasy. So uh, you know,
- 32:11Speaker 3: things have gone kind of perfectly for Detroit the last
- 32:14Speaker 3: two seasons. They really haven't had it many injuries. Everybody's
- 32:17Speaker 3: for the most part. Everyone's been out there, you know,
- 32:19Speaker 3: relative to other teams have been very healthy. The old
- 32:21Speaker 3: Lions held out, Jared Dodds held up. So you know
- 32:25Speaker 3: that gives me the slightest pause, Like what happens if
- 32:28Speaker 3: something like that, You know, they start to drop like
- 32:30Speaker 3: other teams do. But at the end of the day,
- 32:32Speaker 3: like you said, to your point, you can apply that
- 32:34Speaker 3: to every team in the NFL. You know, every team
- 32:37Speaker 3: is going to have some level of injury concerns over
- 32:39Speaker 3: the long term. So as same Brown as my wide
- 32:41Speaker 3: receiver three, I expect another massive season from him.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Did Justin Jefferson fall in your top ten because of
- 32:47Speaker 1: the quarterback situation?
- 32:48Speaker 9: Uh?
- 32:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean relative to Kirk Cousins or yes, if
- 32:52Speaker 3: Kirk Cousins was back, I think he'd be giving Ceedee
- 32:54Speaker 3: Lamber run for his money for that top overall spot
- 32:56Speaker 3: at wide receiver. But there's more questions. You know, there's
- 32:59Speaker 3: there's question marks with with Sam Darnold. You know, there's
- 33:03Speaker 3: there's a hope, there's a range of outcome for him
- 33:05Speaker 3: that they can get him going. And if you think
- 33:08Speaker 3: but there's no way that's possible, well I give you
- 33:10Speaker 3: Baker Mayfield last year I give you Gino Smith two
- 33:13Speaker 3: years ago. With the right coaching and the raw talent,
- 33:16Speaker 3: Sometimes these quarterbacks can develop later in their current have
- 33:19Speaker 3: a good season, So there is hope that Sam Darnald
- 33:21Speaker 3: will be okay. I would feel better though, if jj
- 33:23Speaker 3: McCarthy was healthy, just because the ceiling's higher. You know,
- 33:26Speaker 3: you draft a guy in the first rund you expect
- 33:27Speaker 3: him to be a superstar. And McCarthy did look the
- 33:29Speaker 3: part in the offseason, so that gives me a little
- 33:32Speaker 3: pause from where we've had Jefferson in the past. But
- 33:35Speaker 3: he's still wide receiver five. On my part, He's going
- 33:37Speaker 3: to get a huge target share and he is maybe
- 33:40Speaker 3: the best talent at receiver in the NFL. So he's
- 33:43Speaker 3: still a fine first round pick.
- 33:44Speaker 1: You have two Eagles in your top twelve. Saquon first
- 33:47Speaker 1: year running back. Are they gonna touch push anymore? Going
- 33:51Speaker 1: to get who's going to get those carries?
- 33:53Speaker 3: Yeah? They'll still do the brotherly show for sure. I
- 33:57Speaker 3: don't know if it'll be quite as dominant as it
- 33:59Speaker 3: was with Jason Kelsey up front. But remember, Jalen Hurts
- 34:02Speaker 3: is the guy that can squat what is it a
- 34:04Speaker 3: you know, a bazillion pounds. I don't know. I don't
- 34:06Speaker 3: even I can't count that high. So he'll he'll be awesome.
- 34:09Speaker 3: He'll still do that, He'll still get in the end zone.
- 34:11Speaker 3: But here's the thing. The last few years Eagles running
- 34:14Speaker 3: backs have scored enough rushing touchdowns. You know, I believe
- 34:18Speaker 3: Miles Sanders, I think it was eight two years ago
- 34:21Speaker 3: as their lead back. And this is another step up.
- 34:23Speaker 3: This is Saquon Barkley we're talking about.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Now.
- 34:25Speaker 3: You don't pay him to bring him in to just
- 34:27Speaker 3: be a situational guy and not be involved near the
- 34:29Speaker 3: goal line. The guy is going to be good. I
- 34:30Speaker 3: think he'll score right round ten touchdowns. Much better offensive
- 34:34Speaker 3: line in Philadelphia relative to what he was dealing with
- 34:37Speaker 3: in New York. And look, Howie Roseman is not a
- 34:40Speaker 3: guy that pays non premium positions. We've seen linebackers walk away,
- 34:43Speaker 3: We've seen them not pay running backs. But this year
- 34:46Speaker 3: the salary cap went up, and he just watched his
- 34:49Speaker 3: Eagles get beat up by Christian McCaffrey and the forty
- 34:51Speaker 3: nine ers the last couple of years and thought, you know,
- 34:53Speaker 3: this is a copycat league. We had a premium A
- 34:56Speaker 3: plus running back on the market, this is the time
- 34:58Speaker 3: to pounds on one of these guys. He's doing that
- 35:00Speaker 3: with Saquon Barkley. I expect him to be a featured
- 35:02Speaker 3: player and have a huge season.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Who's going to go from didn't really matter last year
- 35:06Speaker 1: to holy crap, they matter a lot this year. And
- 35:10Speaker 1: just to give you a second to think about that, Like,
- 35:12Speaker 1: a guy like Garrett Wilson makes sense to me because
- 35:14Speaker 1: he just didn't have anybody to run ball to him,
- 35:16Speaker 1: and he's elite, so you can still pick him. I
- 35:18Speaker 1: just want to give you a second to think about
- 35:19Speaker 1: that answer. Who will go from man, if they just
- 35:22Speaker 1: had somebody to get them the ball, they'd be so
- 35:23Speaker 1: elite to this year they have that person.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I think there's two guys that jump right off
- 35:27Speaker 3: the page. I'll agree with you on Garrett Wilson because
- 35:30Speaker 3: he was my guy last year. Okay. I took him
- 35:32Speaker 3: in the late first round of our marathon mock draft
- 35:35Speaker 3: on TV. I sniped Dan Grasiano. He was not happy.
- 35:37Speaker 3: I was happy. And then it took a few snaps
- 35:39Speaker 3: on Monday Night Football and that was that dream was dead.
- 35:42Speaker 3: So I'm back in on Garret Wilson. Look, the guy's
- 35:44Speaker 3: fourth among receiver and targets. Since he entered the NFL,
- 35:47Speaker 3: all the other guys up there in the top ten
- 35:49Speaker 3: and targets are averaging like sixteen seventeen eighteen fantasy points
- 35:52Speaker 3: per game, eight and a half touchdowns per season. He
- 35:56Speaker 3: has seven total touchdowns to average in about twelve and
- 35:58Speaker 3: a half fantasy points per game. Becase the league's worst
- 36:01Speaker 3: quarterback play that should be fixed this season. So it's
- 36:04Speaker 3: him and the other guy, obviously is Drake London, first
- 36:06Speaker 3: round or two years ago, same kind of thing. A
- 36:08Speaker 3: big target, Shaar. Since he's coming to the league, he's
- 36:10Speaker 3: the real deal. But the quarterback play has been bad.
- 36:13Speaker 3: It's been a low volume offense down there in Atlanta.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Now he is Zach Robinson in as the play caller.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Arthur Smith is out and headed to Pittsburgh, and of
- 36:21Speaker 3: course you have Kirk Cousins at quarterback, which is a massive,
- 36:24Speaker 3: massive upgrade. So I expect both of those guys that
- 36:28Speaker 3: big seasons, both of them I have in my top fifteen.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Speaking of Atlanta, Vijon obviously we mentioned him as being
- 36:33Speaker 1: one of your top three. I think he's number three
- 36:35Speaker 1: on your board. But what do you expect Vijon to
- 36:38Speaker 1: do now that he's not in that Arthur Smith offense.
- 36:40Speaker 1: What is he going to do now that he wasn't
- 36:42Speaker 1: able to do last year?
- 36:44Speaker 3: Yeah, all systems go. I mean last year, I think
- 36:47Speaker 3: it would surprise people because to your point, like it
- 36:49Speaker 3: fell underwhelming, it felt disappointing. And still he was sixth
- 36:53Speaker 3: among running backs in yards last year. I believe he's
- 36:55Speaker 3: fifth in snaps, he was second in targets. So he
- 37:00Speaker 3: still had a very good season for a first year
- 37:02Speaker 3: player in the NFL, especially and again that low volume system.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Now the carries can come. I think that's going to
- 37:08Speaker 3: be the big difference from last year to this year.
- 37:10Speaker 3: The carries will add up. You might see about one
- 37:12Speaker 3: hundred more carries. That's big, and perhaps more importantly, goal
- 37:16Speaker 3: line work. He had two carries inside the opponent's five
- 37:19Speaker 3: yard line. Last season. It wasn't even in the top
- 37:20Speaker 3: fifty among running backs. That is something they will correct
- 37:24Speaker 3: this season. By the way, he still at eight touchdown
- 37:25Speaker 3: last year, So at eight touchdowns and he had two
- 37:27Speaker 3: carries inside the five. So he's the real deal. He
- 37:29Speaker 3: has the raw talent, he is the pedigree. He's super young,
- 37:32Speaker 3: just twenty two years old, and again, forget everything about
- 37:36Speaker 3: last year's offense. You know, last year's at Lant offense.
- 37:39Speaker 3: It doesn't matter. It's now a new system, a new quarterback, everything,
- 37:42Speaker 3: he's ready to roll.
- 37:43Speaker 1: In twenty fifteen, you introduced the wide receiver cornerback matchups,
- 37:46Speaker 1: which I always find interesting. I mean, back in the day,
- 37:49Speaker 1: anybody lined up against revs, you just if you had
- 37:51Speaker 1: a stud you had to start on bro. You knew
- 37:53Speaker 1: it just wasn't going to happen. For the most part.
- 37:55Speaker 1: How much who should we look out for if they're
- 37:58Speaker 1: up against who? We're like, Oh, man, if it's off,
- 38:02Speaker 1: we're already like borderline that we should not start.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Uh. Yeah, that's a great question. I mean lately it's
- 38:08Speaker 3: been like that. Every week I'm writing about the Jets secondary,
- 38:12Speaker 3: just how dominant they are in the perimeter, because you know,
- 38:14Speaker 3: everyone knows Sauce Gardner, but gj Read is fantastic as well.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Michael Carter's in the slot, So that's like an automatic
- 38:19Speaker 3: repeat every week. I know, whoever's playing the Jets is
- 38:21Speaker 3: a downgrade, you know. I look at Christian Gonzales in
- 38:25Speaker 3: New England is a very fascinating one. If you want
- 38:27Speaker 3: for a breakout player in the NFL this season. He
- 38:29Speaker 3: was shadowing right out of the gate early last season,
- 38:31Speaker 3: looked like he was a fine by the New England,
- 38:34Speaker 3: then got hurt mister the rest of this season. But
- 38:36Speaker 3: he's a guy I want to see if he comes
- 38:37Speaker 3: out strong in Week one and and just picks up
- 38:40Speaker 3: where he left off last season. Could be a little
- 38:42Speaker 3: bit of a change there with the new scheme in
- 38:44Speaker 3: New England. Bella checks out and is historically just shadowed
- 38:47Speaker 3: with number ones over the years, like you know, going
- 38:50Speaker 3: back to like a Malcolm Butler. I mean, the list
- 38:52Speaker 3: goes on and on and so many good ones. But
- 38:55Speaker 3: he's a he's a very interesting one. So we learned
- 38:57Speaker 3: a lot in Week one. You know, we see which
- 38:59Speaker 3: corners are going to show, which are not. Lagarious Need
- 39:02Speaker 3: was really interesting when last year in Kansas City. But
- 39:04Speaker 3: now he goes to tennessee will he be used the
- 39:06Speaker 3: same way? You know, he was a got shadowing number
- 39:08Speaker 3: ones all season last year for the Chiefs and what
- 39:11Speaker 3: was one of their best defensive seasons ever. So that's
- 39:14Speaker 3: always a fun experiment to do. I try to predict
- 39:17Speaker 3: it for Week one, see what the dynamics going to
- 39:19Speaker 3: be and then we learned so much about these new
- 39:21Speaker 3: schemes in that first series of games.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Who are you making your biggest reach on in accordance
- 39:27Speaker 1: with the with their ADP, Like, who do you feel
- 39:30Speaker 1: like is so much better value than what their average
- 39:33Speaker 1: draft position is?
- 39:34Speaker 3: Oh, good question. I think there's there's a few. I
- 39:37Speaker 3: think a guy that I've really been trying to get
- 39:40Speaker 3: my hands on because he's not super expensive. And by
- 39:43Speaker 3: the way, like the first and second round receivers, always
- 39:45Speaker 3: looking for them later in the drafts, but also second
- 39:48Speaker 3: year receivers. You know, you tend to see a leap
- 39:51Speaker 3: of quarterbacks in that year, but also receivers sometimes, especially
- 39:54Speaker 3: guys not picked early in the first the later guys,
- 39:56Speaker 3: that's when they make a leap. So Jackson Smith and
- 39:58Speaker 3: Jigba in Seattle is a guy I'm looking at. Reports
- 40:00Speaker 3: in the offseason have been fantastic for him. Again, he
- 40:04Speaker 3: was a late first rounder last year. He came in
- 40:05Speaker 3: the league super young. He's only twenty two and don't
- 40:08Speaker 3: be surprisedly lead that team and targets this year. You
- 40:11Speaker 3: know Dk metcalf is going to open the seasons. They're
- 40:14Speaker 3: one they love to hit to him near the goal line,
- 40:16Speaker 3: get him his vertical targets, but not necessarily a dominant
- 40:20Speaker 3: target share. Smith and Jaba could could beat him out
- 40:23Speaker 3: in that department. Don't don't be shocked at all. I
- 40:24Speaker 3: know Tyler Lockett's there as well. It's a new scheme,
- 40:27Speaker 3: but Smith and Jigba appears to be the real deal.
- 40:30Speaker 3: So very excited to see what he can do. And
- 40:32Speaker 3: in ten team leagues you're and even twelve teams you
- 40:34Speaker 3: get him in the eighth, ninth round. You're not paying
- 40:36Speaker 3: too much for him.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Fantasy Focused Football podcast it's Monday through Friday, airing live
- 40:40Speaker 1: on the ESPN app, YouTube and Facebook available in the
- 40:43Speaker 1: afternoon and podcast forum. So I love all the information
- 40:48Speaker 1: that you have Mike up on ESPN Plus. Like, I'm
- 40:51Speaker 1: a big running back guy. It's kind of the zag
- 40:55Speaker 1: to the zig, so I subscribe. I have the number
- 40:58Speaker 1: three pick in both playingwo leagues. I have the number
- 41:00Speaker 1: three thick of both in mine, and I feel pretty
- 41:02Speaker 1: good that I'm going to get one of those three
- 41:04Speaker 1: running backs just because well numerically i'm number three. So yeah,
- 41:09Speaker 1: So I like when someone smarter than me agrees with
- 41:12Speaker 1: what I was planning on doing. It really gives me
- 41:13Speaker 1: a boost of confidence there, so be sure to check
- 41:16Speaker 1: out Fantasy Focused Football podcast. I guess the last thing,
- 41:18Speaker 1: Alaska is do we feel like if DeVante Adams had
- 41:22Speaker 1: a quarterback he would be much better? Or is he
- 41:25Speaker 1: just getting old?
- 41:26Speaker 2: Right?
- 41:26Speaker 1: I think he's a little nineteen on your list. He's
- 41:28Speaker 1: such a stud. But if the stud can't get the ball,
- 41:30Speaker 1: he can't do stud things.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Yeah, a huge target chair last season, but the efficiency
- 41:35Speaker 3: was the worst we've seen from DeVante Adams. You know,
- 41:37Speaker 3: it's not Aaron Rodgers anymore. Thrown in the ball. The
- 41:40Speaker 3: good news is, you know, and I say this with
- 41:42Speaker 3: some pause. I don't want to get too carried away
- 41:44Speaker 3: on this, but Gardner Minshew did finish thirteenth in QBR
- 41:46Speaker 3: last season. He did, you know, I know this scheme
- 41:48Speaker 3: is good in Indianapolis. It was fast based. They set
- 41:51Speaker 3: him up for success. He did well. So yeah, I
- 41:54Speaker 3: think Minshew he's certainly I wouldn't saying above average starter,
- 41:57Speaker 3: but you know he's not horrific, you know. So if
- 42:00Speaker 3: he can just push the ball to Adams and give
- 42:02Speaker 3: him twenty eight to thirty percent of the targets, you know,
- 42:05Speaker 3: let's push for eight, nine, ten a game. I'm just
- 42:07Speaker 3: going to have another huge season and that's why he's
- 42:09Speaker 3: projected to still he's wide receiver ten on my board
- 42:11Speaker 3: at age thirty one, so I'm hopeful that it works out.
- 42:16Speaker 3: I think the connection with Minshew could work him. By
- 42:18Speaker 3: the way, if Aidan O'Connell eventually they say, you know what,
- 42:21Speaker 3: he's out playing him. He's the better guy. He beats
- 42:23Speaker 3: out Minshew, that's that's better for Adams. That means that
- 42:25Speaker 3: this young guy is an even better situation. So we'll
- 42:28Speaker 3: see how a plays out. But I think Adams probably
- 42:30Speaker 3: is maybe one more big season in him.
- 42:32Speaker 1: You can follow Mike at Mike Clay NFL. Hey, Mike
- 42:36Speaker 1: appreciates time. Hope you have a great day and hope
- 42:38Speaker 1: you have a lot of really good drafts. Man. Thanks
- 42:39Speaker 1: for hanging out with us.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Yeah, good luck this season.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Thanks for having me on all right, thanks man. I
- 42:43Speaker 1: just a reminder we have picked our parlay for week
- 42:45Speaker 1: zero at eight. Week zero, but it is exciting. There's football.
- 42:48Speaker 1: I just hate it being called week zero. It's week one.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I either call it week one to call it mystery week.
- 42:53Speaker 1: That's cool because zero means nothing. So here we go.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Here's the parlay. We're starting off strong. We're going Hawaii
- 42:59Speaker 1: money Line over Delaware State. Delaware State.
- 43:03Speaker 5: Did you see they got delayed?
- 43:04Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 43:05Speaker 5: Delaware State got delayed in New York the flight are
- 43:08Speaker 5: they missed their flight or something like that. And then
- 43:10Speaker 5: they're suck at JFKVE like ten hours.
- 43:12Speaker 1: They didn't fly that one private. No, Wow, that's tough.
- 43:16Speaker 1: That's tough. Yeah, that's a lot of equipment to get
- 43:18Speaker 1: over there too. Yeah, you mail all that crap, you
- 43:20Speaker 1: ship it. It's got to go on a overnight. Well, man,
- 43:24Speaker 1: all your pads because back when I play high school football,
- 43:26Speaker 1: you put your home between your shoulder pads. Just that.
- 43:30Speaker 1: They'll do that. But it's Delaware State there. They're flying
- 43:33Speaker 1: southwest down to Hawaii. Apparently, Hawaii money Line over Delaware
- 43:37Speaker 1: State SMU. It's minus twenty seven at Nevada, so we're
- 43:43Speaker 1: taking SMU and the points and then Montana State money
- 43:45Speaker 1: Line over New Mexico. I'll be honest with you, guys,
- 43:47Speaker 1: I don't know crap about any of these teams. So
- 43:50Speaker 1: let's see, except for SMU should be pretty good this year. Uh,
- 43:54Speaker 1: and then Hawaii is a long way to go right,
- 43:56Speaker 1: and Delaware State got delayed and they have to carry
- 43:59Speaker 1: their shoulder pads and how exact.
- 44:00Speaker 8: Through the airport.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Yes, like helmet face masks through the shoulder pad. That's
- 44:05Speaker 1: how you carry that. But take the parlay. We usually
- 44:08Speaker 1: do best when we have no idea what we're talking about,
- 44:10Speaker 1: which is most of the time. If you want to
- 44:11Speaker 1: take the twenty five whistles parlay, check out DraftKings Sportsbook.

- 44:51Speaker 1: The jersey that Babe Ruth wore when he called a shot. Yeah,
- 44:54Speaker 1: remember for the cancer kid or the order of the
- 44:56Speaker 1: sick kid. What do you mean cancer kid? That's why
- 44:58Speaker 1: he called a shot. He promised it to the kid
- 45:00Speaker 1: in the hospital.
- 45:00Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't know that part. I thought he was
- 45:02Speaker 4: just being babe, being like, I'm going to hit it
- 45:03Speaker 4: right over.
- 45:03Speaker 1: There now, mamad, Babe, do that for no reason. I
- 45:05Speaker 1: need a bad a. You're true, that's true. Unless I'm
- 45:08Speaker 1: getting my stories mixed up. I believe it was a
- 45:10Speaker 1: Wrigley filled and I believe Babe called a shot because
- 45:14Speaker 1: he told the kid in the hospital that he was
- 45:16Speaker 1: going to hit him a home run. Dang, that's cool.
- 45:18Speaker 1: We got to go to our New York expert though. Okay,
- 45:20Speaker 1: see is that true?
- 45:20Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 45:21Speaker 1: I believe that's true.
- 45:21Speaker 4: And I think it was also the first All Star
- 45:24Speaker 4: game of sorts that that the shot happened at as well.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Okay, see, we're learning and how much this actually happened,
- 45:30Speaker 1: we don't know. We don't know.
- 45:32Speaker 5: The World Series in nineteen twenty six. Okay, I'm not
- 45:35Speaker 5: a homer for you in the Wednesday game kids.
- 45:38Speaker 1: So say, okay, do it again, Mike. What did you say?
- 45:40Speaker 1: So it was? What was it? Nineteen twenty six World Series.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Middle of the game. Okay, so it was a postseason
- 45:45Speaker 1: or like extra game. And then he did tell a
- 45:48Speaker 1: kid he'd hit a home run for him. Did you
- 45:50Speaker 1: say what the kid was suffering from?
- 45:51Speaker 5: Hospitalized by getting kicked by a horse, not cancer?
- 45:54Speaker 1: Okay, well, yeah, I know, I was awful little bit.
- 45:56Speaker 1: And he told him, I'm knock a home a homer
- 45:58Speaker 1: for you in Wednesday's game.
- 46:00Speaker 4: But you see how we mess it up in a
- 46:02Speaker 4: matter of like two minutes. Can you imagine all these
- 46:04Speaker 4: years of people's stories mixing up and by the time
- 46:06Speaker 4: like it comes to us, we don't know anything.
- 46:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 46:09Speaker 1: I knew it was Wrigley Field, which meant it had
- 46:11Speaker 1: to be an All Star game or a World Series
- 46:13Speaker 1: because the Yankees and the Cubs a l n L.
- 46:17Speaker 3: So.
- 46:18Speaker 1: And then I knew it was a hospital because I've
- 46:19Speaker 1: seen the version of it on TV where it's like, oh,
- 46:22Speaker 1: hit one, y'all get But I thought it was just
- 46:25Speaker 1: generally cancer. It one for you, there, kid. So the
- 46:27Speaker 1: jersey he wore Boyle is going to set a new
- 46:31Speaker 1: memorabilia record. Well yeah, yeah, no, but you say, yeah, yeah,
- 46:34Speaker 1: but what do you mean, what do you mean it's
- 46:36Speaker 1: not easily the most valuable thing ever. The babe Ruth
- 46:40Speaker 1: everyone knows him calling the show. Yeah you didn't, You
- 46:43Speaker 1: didn't even know what it's from, dude.
- 46:46Speaker 4: I've seen the pick. I've seen it all, like I've heard, dude.
- 46:48Speaker 4: Even when I play baseball sometimes I do it just
- 46:50Speaker 4: because the babe did it.
- 46:51Speaker 1: You know, we all do know that. We're not saying
- 46:53Speaker 1: it's not amazing moment, but you're acting like, easily, that's
- 46:56Speaker 1: the most valuable piece of memorabilia in the history of
- 46:59Speaker 1: the world in your sports or Billia Eh, Michael Jordan what, Yeah,
- 47:03Speaker 1: exactly like I would say Michael Jordan's first championship shoes
- 47:07Speaker 1: that he signs. Yeah, this is the babe. You're just
- 47:11Speaker 1: saying that because you know it's already the answer. My
- 47:13Speaker 1: point is you were just kind of jumping along. But
- 47:16Speaker 1: anyway it's gonna go for They think around eighteen to
- 47:19Speaker 1: twenty million dollars, Wow, which is crazy. So and then
- 47:24Speaker 1: do you wear it or do you just leave it
- 47:26Speaker 1: on your leave it on the wall. You don't wear it.
- 47:28Speaker 1: You don't wear it. You don't wear twenty million dollars.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Did you bet one day I'm wearing that around the house.
- 47:33Speaker 1: I mean, that's why you would never get it. Yeah,
- 47:34Speaker 1: and that's why I don't have that kind of money.
- 47:36Speaker 8: Yeah, reg League softball game.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Yeah I did it, Mark Drace, Yeah, he did so
- 47:42Speaker 1: if there's not another bid. Based on what's been bid
- 47:44Speaker 1: so far, the current top bid is fifteen point one
- 47:47Speaker 1: million dollars. It's five point five million more than the
- 47:52Speaker 1: Now this is a card, but the nineteen fifty two
- 47:54Speaker 1: tops Mickey Mantle card at a nine point five sold
- 47:57Speaker 1: for twelve point six million two years ago. Car The
- 48:00Speaker 1: previous all time auction record for a game more jersey
- 48:04Speaker 1: was ten point one million paid at Southeby's for Michael
- 48:07Speaker 1: Jordan's two thousand No. Nineteen ninety NBA Finals Game one
- 48:12Speaker 1: jersey sold in two thousand and two. But to pay
- 48:16Speaker 1: ten million dollars per jury, Man, that's.
- 48:18Speaker 4: Crazy because you say the Jordan one, right, Like I say,
- 48:21Speaker 4: I'm assuming it's someone's living room they're having a cocktail party,
- 48:24Speaker 4: and then like, what is that got.
- 48:26Speaker 1: To be in some sort of sports museum in somebody's house. Yeah,
- 48:30Speaker 1: like that has it? You don't just buy that and
- 48:32Speaker 1: hang that by itself next to the family. Yeah, Okay,
- 48:35Speaker 1: I just pure, and you also guard it. It's got
- 48:37Speaker 1: to be guarded. You're just talking about let's take the
- 48:39Speaker 1: jersey and the sports off of it. It's it's ten
- 48:43Speaker 1: million dollars. You would think of the ways people want
- 48:46Speaker 1: to steal anything in your house. If they see any
- 48:49Speaker 1: valuable in your carl On bus window, you have to protect.
- 48:52Speaker 1: If they know ten million dollars is anywhere, you've got
- 48:54Speaker 1: to do the security video electric Mond. Yeah, see, I
- 49:00Speaker 1: don't know about this.
- 49:01Speaker 5: Doesn't it take the fun out of it?
- 49:02Speaker 1: Though? No, because I'm sure it's bought as an investment.
- 49:05Speaker 1: I'm sure it's bought by a sports fan, but as
- 49:07Speaker 1: an investment because you're not going to spend ten million
- 49:10Speaker 1: bucks on something to whack off at interesting. You know
- 49:14Speaker 1: you're gonna buy it because you're into sports, but you're
- 49:17Speaker 1: also going to go, I'm buying this as an investment
- 49:19Speaker 1: because I'm not going to spend ten million bucks on something
- 49:21Speaker 1: it's just it's fun to me. Otherwise, you buy like
- 49:24Speaker 1: Michael Jordan's flu game jersey for a tenth of the
- 49:28Speaker 1: price and just have fun with it.
- 49:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, yeah, you understand how rich people think. See,
- 49:34Speaker 4: we don't have I don't have any money, so I'm
- 49:36Speaker 4: thinking like, yeah, I'd buy that ten million dollars hanging
- 49:38Speaker 4: up in my wall, have people over and be like
- 49:40Speaker 4: you know what that is?
- 49:40Speaker 1: And you know what they do? They'd be thinking like,
- 49:41Speaker 1: how do we break in and steal this later? Yeah,
- 49:42Speaker 1: they didn't even think about that. I know. It's crazy.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Heritage Execs still projective because this bid now again for
- 49:51Speaker 1: the Root Jersey. They think it could possibly. I don't
- 49:54Speaker 1: know when this ends, but it could want to. No, God, no,
- 49:59Speaker 1: you're that You're crazy. I want everybody listening. He was
- 50:01Speaker 1: a kidding. There's no no, there's that, there's that, and
- 50:04Speaker 1: then there's no bones. Would you bid for fun thirty
- 50:06Speaker 1: million dollars? Because I don't get tracked with it? Right,
- 50:10Speaker 1: I don't get tracked. You never know. You may not
- 50:12Speaker 1: get out bid. That's from c l LLCT dot com.
- 50:19Speaker 1: If you have that, you have to have the extra
- 50:22Speaker 1: million dollars in security, So you have to have other
- 50:25Speaker 1: money to protect the money that you just spent. Otherwise,
- 50:29Speaker 1: I've seen enough Oceans movies to know somebody's coming to
- 50:31Speaker 1: get it. Yeah right, Yeah, you just watched all those,
- 50:35Speaker 1: din't you. I did well. Parts of them. I'd seen
- 50:38Speaker 1: them already, but my wife had never seen them.
- 50:40Speaker 4: Do I remember when Ocean's eleven come out is mind
- 50:42Speaker 4: blowing and I thought after that everything any kind of
- 50:46Speaker 4: robbery is possible, any.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Kind, But I think it still is right. I mean,
- 50:52Speaker 1: I wouldn't have thought of like the whole going down
- 50:54Speaker 1: the lasers, and you probably don't think about robberies. Yeah,
- 50:58Speaker 1: I mean those guys were good. Yeah, well there are
- 50:59Speaker 1: all a fictional I would say that if these are happening,
- 51:05Speaker 1: we're not knowing about them. Right. A lot of these
- 51:06Speaker 1: are just and then people are embarrassed they got it.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Then they're black market art is constantly and that's from robberies.
- 51:15Speaker 1: But do you see the story about Hank Aaron and
- 51:18Speaker 1: the bases. So, Hank Aaron, he is the home run
- 51:22Speaker 1: all time home run leader, Hamry Hank the home when
- 51:26Speaker 1: he hit the home run that set the all time record.
- 51:31Speaker 1: They pulled the bases and like somebody that worked for
- 51:35Speaker 1: the Braves at the time gave the basis to so
- 51:41Speaker 1: and so. Okay, so the bases are up in their
- 51:43Speaker 1: games over they took the bases off, so the bases
- 51:45Speaker 1: are now. The bases were listed by heritage auctions. We
- 51:48Speaker 1: have all the bases, but then there was a one
- 51:52Speaker 1: of the family was like, no, we have the third base.
- 51:57Speaker 1: It's something like that where they're even arguing which one
- 51:59Speaker 1: was real great, because again, hi, it's not like there's
- 52:04Speaker 1: a photo match. I mean photo match. It looks like
- 52:06Speaker 1: the base. If you see the story, Kevin, you.
- 52:10Speaker 5: I'm reading, it looks like the Braves are the ones
- 52:12Speaker 5: that are challenging it.
- 52:13Speaker 1: So they are, Yeah, because the Braves are challenging it.
- 52:16Speaker 1: But because they say that I think it was the
- 52:18Speaker 1: third base, somebody else has or claims they have the
- 52:24Speaker 1: real one, and it was the family. It's the family.
- 52:28Speaker 1: So but again you have this this auction group going
- 52:32Speaker 1: we have it. You can buy all of them one, two,
- 52:34Speaker 1: three and home, and then somebody going not so fast,
- 52:37Speaker 1: because the Braves put a stop to it. Gosh, how
- 52:38Speaker 1: do you prove that? How do you prove which one
- 52:40Speaker 1: was the real one? I think you set them both
- 52:42Speaker 1: down and you cut them in half. You go, we're
- 52:43Speaker 1: gonna cut this in half. And whoever goes no, no, no,
- 52:45Speaker 1: don't he can have it. That's who gets it because
- 52:47Speaker 1: they love it the most. The Bible. Solomon, Yeah, not sure, dude.
- 52:51Speaker 1: How cool.
- 52:52Speaker 4: Remember that story went to at Saint Louis where they
- 52:54Speaker 4: had all the old They had bases there from a
- 52:56Speaker 4: bunch of games.
- 52:57Speaker 1: They had jerseys from everyone. We're talking about the gift shop.
- 53:00Speaker 4: Yeah, we went into the gift shop, but it was
- 53:01Speaker 4: all used stuff, even like office chairs that was like
- 53:05Speaker 4: part of an office and they're at the GM.
- 53:07Speaker 1: It really was. It was like everything and it was
- 53:11Speaker 1: it was dirt from certain games. It was balls, thow
- 53:14Speaker 1: balls hit by certain players, never the big players. For
- 53:17Speaker 1: the most part. There's always secondary you know, but bat
- 53:21Speaker 1: are seven eight nine.
- 53:22Speaker 4: I do remember seeing bases there, but they would all
- 53:25Speaker 4: have like plates on them, and I don't know if
- 53:26Speaker 4: they do that now, where like every game they have
- 53:28Speaker 4: a plate that says game four of the Mets, you know, Cardinal.
- 53:33Speaker 1: I don't think they throw every base away every day now.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Oh really no, I don't think it's that.
- 53:38Speaker 4: But that's good to know, dude, because when we were
- 53:41Speaker 4: watching the Cardinals game, I was telling my kids, that's
- 53:43Speaker 4: the base that broke my foot on that one right there.
- 53:45Speaker 1: It could have been though, because they don't pull them
- 53:47Speaker 1: every game and give them away. That's cool, But if
- 53:49Speaker 1: something happens, or if they pull the base and like
- 53:53Speaker 1: this base is now dead, they can assign something that
- 53:55Speaker 1: actually happened on the base, like whatever the best thing
- 53:57Speaker 1: that happened on that base. They can then go George
- 54:01Speaker 1: Brett hit his four hundredth double on this base. Shoot,
- 54:04Speaker 1: maybe I should call him and tell him that I
- 54:05Speaker 1: broke Yeah, Kevin, what do you see over there?
- 54:08Speaker 5: I see that the Baseball Hall of Fame gave Hank
- 54:11Speaker 5: third base when he got inducted, and then he donated
- 54:14Speaker 5: it to the Hall of Fame. Okay, And that's where
- 54:17Speaker 5: they're upset. There's the Hall of Fame and the Braids
- 54:19Speaker 5: are saying, no, we have the base.
- 54:21Speaker 1: So it's a it is third base they're fighting about.
- 54:22Speaker 1: So home play first and second, all good, but who's
- 54:27Speaker 1: got the real third base? And both are claiming it's
- 54:30Speaker 1: and both think it's the real third base, And how
- 54:34Speaker 1: do you really find out? No, do you just have
- 54:37Speaker 1: to take the loss? Do you do? You melt them
- 54:40Speaker 1: together and make one or two new ones and they
- 54:43Speaker 1: both have a little bit of the original and the
- 54:45Speaker 1: values down, but now you have two instead of one,
- 54:47Speaker 1: which is better than none.
- 54:50Speaker 5: Dang, get into some legal stuff too.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it was up for auction. Yeah, they were up
- 54:57Speaker 1: all that Eddie would put in his back yard and
- 55:01Speaker 1: have softball game, be like, hey, buddy, come over, have
- 55:02Speaker 1: dragon Hank Aaron basis, the Hank cair basis. I like
- 55:08Speaker 1: to conclude the show with a little talk. Had a
- 55:11Speaker 1: Rex softball game last night. I had on two weeks
- 55:15Speaker 1: ago as well, but the one two weeks ago. The
- 55:17Speaker 1: game started at nine pm. Who what adult in the
- 55:19Speaker 1: right mind could play at Rex softball game at nine pm?
- 55:21Speaker 1: Normal people? No, they don't even want to play. I
- 55:23Speaker 1: didn't play because I have to get up so early.
- 55:25Speaker 1: But even they were like, it's miserable because you played
- 55:27Speaker 1: nine until ten, You get home at ten thirty, ten,
- 55:30Speaker 1: forty five shower, by the time it's eleven, you don't
- 55:32Speaker 1: get to be until midnight twelve thirty. It's terrible. So
- 55:36Speaker 1: we had an eight o'clock game, which is about the
- 55:38Speaker 1: very edge of when I can play, and I slept
- 55:41Speaker 1: all week. I was like, man, I really don't want
- 55:44Speaker 1: to go, and I always want to go. I'll look
- 55:45Speaker 1: forward to it so much. But I went and we go.
- 55:47Speaker 1: We're playing. We're up third inning seventeen to one. Is brutal.
- 55:54Speaker 1: And so ah, we just started dicking around. We lost
- 55:57Speaker 1: twenty four to twenty three. What from that? Wow? Is
- 56:02Speaker 1: a crazy crazy comeback.
- 56:04Speaker 4: When you say dick and around, Like, what are you
- 56:05Speaker 4: guys knowing? Like everybody playing banana?
- 56:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Eyo's playing position.
- 56:09Speaker 5: I don't normally play like we were all like, was
- 56:12Speaker 5: there like a bunch of errors or were they just
- 56:14Speaker 5: yap out of the wall.
- 56:15Speaker 2: No?
- 56:15Speaker 1: Both, but I'm telling you flight two innings, everybody's like,
- 56:17Speaker 1: what a position if you're not played forever? Oh no,
- 56:20Speaker 1: it's so stupid. We were so stupid, like let the
- 56:22Speaker 1: kids play.
- 56:22Speaker 5: They never play.
- 56:23Speaker 1: And it's like people are playing short stop. They never
- 56:25Speaker 1: played shortofp Like I just wanted to play shortstop bag
- 56:29Speaker 1: And we lost and we deserved it, and it hurt
- 56:32Speaker 1: a little bit, and they were getting malluded with the umpire.
- 56:34Speaker 1: But they sucked and we sucked because we made bad
- 56:38Speaker 1: We made bad strategic decisions. But we end up losing
- 56:40Speaker 1: the last inning twenty four to twenty three. That's tough. Yes,
- 56:43Speaker 1: I was so tired. I was so tired. I wasn't
- 56:45Speaker 1: eve competitive, like I never left my position. For the record,
- 56:48Speaker 1: I played first base the whole night.
- 56:49Speaker 5: I was like, I'm not did anybody try to get it?
- 56:51Speaker 1: No, because that's just where I play now, but we all,
- 56:56Speaker 1: I've never had it. It was seventeen to one and
- 56:59Speaker 1: then it'd being twenty four to three. Last inning, we
- 57:01Speaker 1: had a chance to come back. We were the home team,
- 57:05Speaker 1: and then I was up first and I got a
- 57:07Speaker 1: hit and then it was out out and then that
- 57:11Speaker 1: was it. It's hilarious. Did you try to steal at
- 57:13Speaker 1: the end? Nah's softball? Broh. There was a guy on
- 57:16Speaker 1: the other team who was dressed in full baseball uniform,
- 57:20Speaker 1: like what team? No, I don't know something. He looked
- 57:23Speaker 1: like he came out of the corn penstripes full uniform.
- 57:28Speaker 1: When he would get on bass, he would like hold
- 57:30Speaker 1: things with his hands like he was gonna slide head first.
- 57:33Speaker 5: No he didn't.
- 57:33Speaker 1: I submit to God, and I'm not making fun of him.
- 57:35Speaker 1: I'm jealous. I don't love anything in my life as
- 57:37Speaker 1: much as this guy loves playing Rex softball. That's cool.
- 57:40Speaker 1: I love playing Rex soft But I'm telling and he
- 57:42Speaker 1: was diving like It's like he waited every minute of
- 57:48Speaker 1: every day countdown clock to be able to play Rex
- 57:51Speaker 1: softball again. Full baseball, full uniform like pants, leggings.
- 57:58Speaker 6: Was he good?
- 57:59Speaker 1: No? Fine, mid at best? But he went hard and
- 58:03Speaker 1: I was jealous because there's nothing I love as much
- 58:06Speaker 1: as that guy loved that hour.
- 58:08Speaker 4: Yeah, you got to respect that. Hey, are you guys
- 58:11Speaker 4: have uniforms? Are you guys just kind of like bad
- 58:12Speaker 4: news bears, We.
- 58:13Speaker 1: Didn't have uniforms. We have a T shirt now that
- 58:16Speaker 1: they they bought the It has the guy from us
- 58:19Speaker 1: sand Loot, the Great Bambino. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he's
- 58:24Speaker 1: on it. But it was just like, we might as
- 58:25Speaker 1: well get a shirt that matches. Yeah, And so we
- 58:28Speaker 1: won last week. I gotn't play that nine o'clock game,
- 58:30Speaker 1: and then last night we were at big time and
- 58:32Speaker 1: then everybody wants to play their new positions, and you
- 58:36Speaker 1: at the end of the game, everybody's kind of like
- 58:38Speaker 1: we made a mistake when they were coming back, when
- 58:40Speaker 1: they were marching back hard, everyone was like, I think
- 58:41Speaker 1: we made a mistake by goofing around for the last
- 58:43Speaker 1: two But they wanted they had to have balls. They
- 58:45Speaker 1: had some home runs at the end over the fence.
- 58:47Speaker 1: They won. Were they pumped, Yeah, but then they were
- 58:51Speaker 1: a little malthy, which good for them. They want to
- 58:54Speaker 1: be malthy. They came back and won. I honestly, I
- 58:56Speaker 1: was so tired I did not care. But I was
- 59:00Speaker 1: thinking to myself, did they not see us like all
- 59:02Speaker 1: playing different positions? But then even then maybe not. Maybe
- 59:05Speaker 1: they were just like, oh, they want to disrespect us,
- 59:07Speaker 1: so they deserved. They deserve to win in every way.
- 59:11Speaker 1: I've never had to come back like that before. On me.
- 59:13Speaker 1: It's hilarious, dude, And they smack some homers and people drinking.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Is it a Beer League kind?
- 59:21Speaker 6: I guess.
- 59:22Speaker 1: I don't know. Our team isn't unwritten rule. Maybe I
- 59:26Speaker 1: don't know. I don't our team wasn't our team wouldn't.
- 59:29Speaker 1: I really don't want to say who our team is. Yeah,
- 59:31Speaker 1: I got you. I got you not because they're famous,
- 59:34Speaker 1: but because I kind of I didn't know who I
- 59:36Speaker 1: was playing with. And when I signed up with them,
- 59:38Speaker 1: the guy was just like, hey, come and play. We
- 59:40Speaker 1: need a spot. Because I posted on social media and
- 59:43Speaker 1: I'm pretty good, would say I'm the best out there.
- 59:45Speaker 1: I'm probably top. If there's twenty people out there, I'm
- 59:49Speaker 1: probably top three or four. You can't say I'm pretty
- 59:52Speaker 1: good anymore like you. You were a MVP at the Yeah,
- 59:55Speaker 1: but I was really on during that game. But it
- 59:56Speaker 1: doesn't matter.
- 59:57Speaker 4: That's an accolade where you're just like that, Sorry, man,
- 59:58Speaker 4: I'm really good now, it's just who I am.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: But I'm not. There are guys out there that were
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: like ball players that still are really good. So I'm
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: never like the first second best player out there, but
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: I'm always I'm pretty good. But no, it is is
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: a hilarious night. And then it's late my always the
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: only game my wife's ever come to too. Oh her
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: and her parents, Yeah, because they're in town. So they
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: all they were like, well, come to the game. My
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: wife did not want to go to the game to
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: begin with. She was like, I don't want to go,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: and her parents like we'll come, and she's like fine.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: So they sat on the bleachers and Caitlyn's like, are
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: they coming back? Are you letting that score in the game?
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: Kaitlyn, subject, she's in the game.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: She was talking to you during the game. I would
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: go sit with them. Oh, It's like it's then you
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: really weren't really care.
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: Your head wasn't in the game, then mine was?
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: I played for I played all right? Yeah, yeah, if
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: you're going to the bleachers talking to your family during
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: the game. Bro, your head's not in the game. There's
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: no game for my head to be in. Uh So
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: that's it.
- 1:00:53Speaker 6: Thank you guys.
