Fraud Queen Caught in Jamaica | Oakland News
Elaine Escoe, the last fugitive in a $32 million COVID relief fraud scheme, was arrested in Jamaica and brought back to the U.S. where she pleaded not guilty to all charges — including falsifying business records and stealing PPP loans and grants meant for struggling companies. After fleeing after a warrant was issued, she’s now facing up to 19.5 years if convicted, following the arrests of several co-conspirators who already took their punishment.
