- 0:00Speaker 1: Before it slips my mind, because I didn't want it
- 0:03Speaker 1: to slip my mind, and that was to pay the
- 0:07Speaker 1: proper respect to the NBA and toward that end, not
- 0:13Speaker 1: only what's going on. One of the more fascinating stories.
- 0:18Speaker 1: There's a couple of real fascinating stories in the Eastern Conference.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I would say cam One is the Sixers and everything
- 0:23Speaker 1: they're going through and the injuries and MB and the
- 0:26Speaker 1: suspension and shoving the reporter and the fine and all
- 0:29Speaker 1: that other kind of stuff, and they're really struggling. The
- 0:32Speaker 1: other is the Milwaukee Bucks, who are just flat out
- 0:35Speaker 1: struggling that and there's train talk right now.
- 0:40Speaker 2: No, not Yanna sentinakupone.
- 0:44Speaker 1: They're not, no, no, not looking to soon, not looking
- 0:48Speaker 1: to trade him apparently, they say they say the Bucks.
- 0:53Speaker 1: The word is is that they're looking for help for
- 0:55Speaker 1: Giannis and Dame Lillard because Chris Middleton's been out a
- 1:00Speaker 1: lineup with the offseason ankle surgery. So they're just two
- 1:03Speaker 1: and six right now. What you know, what in the
- 1:05Speaker 1: world could the Bucks be after here?
- 1:07Speaker 3: It's a good it's a good question, Craig. They're an
- 1:10Speaker 3: older team, you know, Lillard, Chris Middleton. I would say,
- 1:15Speaker 3: on the on the back end a very career. You know, Dame,
- 1:19Speaker 3: he still can put up big numbers.
- 1:21Speaker 4: He can still.
- 1:21Speaker 3: I mean he's scored forty one points this season's he
- 1:24Speaker 3: put up thirty four last night, thirty six against Cleveland
- 1:27Speaker 3: on Monday and their two point loss. I don't know
- 1:32Speaker 3: if I'm completely freaking out on this team. We know
- 1:35Speaker 3: two and six is obviously just a just an awful start,
- 1:37Speaker 3: but some of those games have been pretty close. One
- 1:40Speaker 3: point lost to Cleveland that came on a Donovan Mitchell
- 1:44Speaker 3: game winner, Cleveland lost by two points, lost by nine
- 1:51Speaker 3: at Boston, which is a tough game, and they've had some,
- 1:54Speaker 3: you know, pretty bad losses to Brooklyn, to Chicago, to
- 1:58Speaker 3: Memphis as well. I don't know if there's a fixed Craig,
- 2:01Speaker 3: because I think this team has been constructed very poorly,
- 2:05Speaker 3: and they're very old. I mean, brook Lopez thirty six
- 2:08Speaker 3: years old, Middleton thirty three. He's had a cluster of injuries.
- 2:11Speaker 3: You mentioned the offseason ankle injury. Dame Lillard at his age,
- 2:16Speaker 3: he's thirty fod he's a smaller guard. I mean even Giannis,
- 2:19Speaker 3: you know, he's getting close to thirty years old. So
- 2:21Speaker 3: Pat Connington thirty one. It's just an older, older roster now,
- 2:26Speaker 3: you know. I like them signing the lawn Wright and
- 2:29Speaker 3: Gary Trent guys come off the bench there. But I
- 2:32Speaker 3: just don't know, Craig, if they their best five can
- 2:37Speaker 3: hang with the best five other teams in the Eastern Conference,
- 2:40Speaker 3: because you got to get past the Boston Celtics. Yeah,
- 2:43Speaker 3: and the Boston Celtics are very young, very athletic, and
- 2:48Speaker 3: to be quite frank, they are a matchup nightmare for
- 2:50Speaker 3: the Milwaukee Bucks.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Do you think that?
- 2:55Speaker 1: I guess the better question is how for real is
- 2:57Speaker 1: Cleveland's note and oh record, I think they are for real.
- 2:59Speaker 4: They are great roster.
- 3:01Speaker 3: It seems that Mitchell and Garland are starting to kind
- 3:04Speaker 3: of figure each other out. Remember last year, I mean Garland,
- 3:06Speaker 3: he had that so the jaw injury, you know, and
- 3:10Speaker 3: that's tough to really come back from.
- 3:11Speaker 4: He's wearing the masks. I mean, that cannot be comfortable.
- 3:13Speaker 3: He got all these weird trade rumors going on, and
- 3:15Speaker 3: then Mitchell ends up resigning with Cleveland. Anyway, defensively, I
- 3:21Speaker 3: mean the laps that can put out there defensively with
- 3:24Speaker 3: Jared Allen and Evan Mobley, that that's a nightmare for
- 3:27Speaker 3: teams trying.
- 3:28Speaker 4: To get to the paint.
- 3:29Speaker 3: The key will be in the playoffs, and we got
- 3:32Speaker 3: long ways to go before we get there, obviously, but
- 3:34Speaker 3: the key is, you know, what will their offense look
- 3:37Speaker 3: like in the playoffs, but will be their five because
- 3:39Speaker 3: last year's playoff against you know, the Magic, they really
- 3:41Speaker 3: struggle to get a good offense out there at times.
- 3:45Speaker 3: But with the continued development of what we're seeing for
- 3:48Speaker 3: Mitchell in Garland, they're they're they're a fun team to
- 3:52Speaker 3: watch and you know, I hope they.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Keep it up.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Uh don't look now, but climbing toward respectability or the
- 3:58Speaker 1: Spurs four and five. They beat the Blazers. I know
- 4:01Speaker 1: they're the Blazers, but they beat them. They beat them
- 4:05Speaker 1: last night and they really just kind of got a
- 4:09Speaker 1: real balance scoring. Nobody had over seventeen points in the game.
- 4:12Speaker 1: But you had two guys with seventeen. You had two
- 4:15Speaker 1: guys with fourteen, one with twelve, one with eleven. I
- 4:18Speaker 1: mean there's three guys with fourteen, two guys with seventeen,
- 4:22Speaker 1: so they they kind of spread it around a little bit.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yeah, two wins against you know, two teams below five
- 4:30Speaker 3: hundred had that win against Minnesota, beat Houston early on
- 4:34Speaker 3: in the season by three points. Dylan Fazel will come back.
- 4:39Speaker 3: I think he's gonna play on Sad said tomorrow. So
- 4:42Speaker 3: that'll be a key key for this person. Also, are
- 4:46Speaker 3: they gonna get coach Pop back? We you know, we
- 4:48Speaker 3: hope he's okay, dealing with his healthy Wimby said last night,
- 4:52Speaker 3: and he thought he was going to come back soon.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Whatever, you know, So there was that, Okay on the
- 4:56Speaker 1: schedule for tonight. Which game are you more excited about?
- 5:04Speaker 1: Warriors and Cavaliers were Suns at Maverick Warriors Cavaliers. So
- 5:09Speaker 1: this will be a real fun game. Two of the
- 5:10Speaker 1: best teams defensively out there. Golden State's seven and one
- 5:15Speaker 1: had that big win over Boston, able to do it
- 5:17Speaker 1: with a bunch of just young guys. As Steph Curry
- 5:19Speaker 1: continues to put up just ridiculous numbers in for Cleveland.
- 5:24Speaker 1: As you mentioned Craig, you know, he asked, is this
- 5:26Speaker 1: Cleveland team for real? I mean early on so far
- 5:30Speaker 1: this season nine to zero record, but you know, their
- 5:34Speaker 1: best win. You know, you could argue maybe it's Orlando
- 5:39Speaker 1: by eleven points, but they haven't really faced, I don't
- 5:41Speaker 1: think a true contender now. I don't know if Golden
- 5:45Speaker 1: State's a contender yet because they're a team that going
- 5:47Speaker 1: in the season, I think a lot of people, including myself,
- 5:49Speaker 1: thought they were a playing team. But it'll be a
- 5:52Speaker 1: real fun game to see Mitchell and Garland go up
- 5:55Speaker 1: against Steph Curry tonight. Really impressed to see what Jared
- 5:58Speaker 1: Allen's doing so far for the Cavs. Fifteen points, twelve boards,
- 6:02Speaker 1: a couple of assists. He's a fantastic player. He has
- 6:04Speaker 1: really been something else. Meanwhile, Son's man evericks. That's that's
- 6:08Speaker 1: kind of attractive.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I remember the last two last time these
- 6:11Speaker 3: two teams play, there's a little bit of trash talk
- 6:13Speaker 3: going on between Katie and Luka Doncts as the as
- 6:18Speaker 3: Phoenix was able to come out there with a twelve
- 6:20Speaker 3: point victory early on in the season. So this will
- 6:23Speaker 3: be a fun game. I mean, Durant put up thirty
- 6:26Speaker 3: two the other night in the win. You know, Lucas
- 6:29Speaker 3: gonna come out and drop thirty points or plus. This
- 6:32Speaker 3: will be this will be a fun one to watch,
- 6:33Speaker 3: just for the Katie first, Luca Dynamic.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Your thunder at home against the Rockets tonight you said
- 6:41Speaker 1: you liked the Rockets what you've seen from him so far?
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 6:44Speaker 3: Could you good up and coming young franchise Oka See
- 6:48Speaker 3: trying to bounce back after their tough loss to Denver
- 6:52Speaker 3: the other night. But get back at home. This will
- 6:54Speaker 3: be a fun one as well. Houston five and three okay?
- 6:57Speaker 3: See seven and one okay?
- 6:59Speaker 1: And could could we be any less enthused about a
- 7:04Speaker 1: Sixers Lakers matchup than we have been in a long
- 7:08Speaker 1: long time about that matchup? Hey, Briandy James making his
- 7:12Speaker 1: what is South Bay debut? And apparently it's sold out?
- 7:16Speaker 1: Is it really sold out already? Yeah?
- 7:19Speaker 2: But the buildings like real small, isn't it.
- 7:21Speaker 4: I'm sure it's not a big building.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I think it's like three thousand or something. I don't
- 7:26Speaker 1: think it's I don't think it's much of it.
- 7:27Speaker 4: I could be wrong. You're pouring cold water.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I'm just saying no, I'm just saying slow your roll
- 7:33Speaker 1: a little bit on use of the words sellout.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it's in Alsagundo, right.
- 7:38Speaker 3: They play at the Use Health Training Center. So it
- 7:41Speaker 3: sounds like it seats like seventy three people. It probably
- 7:44Speaker 3: does capacity. No, this can't be right, seven and fifty.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it can't be absolutely better, be a sell better,
- 7:53Speaker 1: That's what that.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Was my point.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Look, these places where the where the G League games
- 7:58Speaker 1: are going on.
- 7:58Speaker 3: They're not anyth to make I guess I'm looking. I
- 8:00Speaker 3: think of the HGB Center, Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, which is a really it's one of the better
- 8:04Speaker 1: places in the G League, but most of the places
- 8:07Speaker 1: are like that. It's basically going to a high school
- 8:12Speaker 1: gym almost. It's a training facility with some bleachers. That's
- 8:15Speaker 1: pretty much what it is. So that's why I said that.
- 8:19Speaker 1: And Browny what he's gonna split time between the Big
- 8:22Speaker 1: Club and South Bay.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't know what the Lakers planner. I do
- 8:27Speaker 3: know they're in a bit of a free fall. Four
- 8:28Speaker 3: and four start after starting yeah, three and oh, and
- 8:31Speaker 3: people already the crown Reddick as Coach of the Year,
- 8:33Speaker 3: and now you got Reddick abruptly leaving press conferences. Philadelphia,
- 8:38Speaker 3: they're in some trouble because now Max he's out, you
- 8:41Speaker 3: get Paul George back, you still don't have him be
- 8:43Speaker 3: because he's suspended for shoving a reporter. So not a
- 8:47Speaker 3: good start to the new Philadelphia seventy six er era
- 8:51Speaker 3: with Paul George looking at one and seven right in
- 8:53Speaker 3: the face.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and the.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Lakers should get back upout five hundred and one. Other
- 8:59Speaker 1: NBA note, how you feeling Lonzo Ball?
- 9:02Speaker 3: I have not seen too much of him yet this
- 9:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Lonzo LaMelo For a second, I have not
- 9:07Speaker 3: seen a lot about Lonzo. I mean it's you know,
- 9:09Speaker 3: he missed almost three years of professional basketball, a lot
- 9:13Speaker 3: of injuries. I mean that that comeback, it's got to
- 9:17Speaker 3: be tough what he's what he's been through the last
- 9:19Speaker 3: couple of years. So, you know, again, just happy to
- 9:21Speaker 3: have him back out there on the court, but it's
- 9:23Speaker 3: gonna take some time for him to, you know, get
- 9:26Speaker 3: to fill the game back.
- 9:27Speaker 1: And taking a great deal dudes, averaging twenty eight points
- 9:30Speaker 1: a game. You he must be what but we've all
- 9:34Speaker 1: known what Lonzo's game is. You know, he's gonna shoot
- 9:38Speaker 1: and getting the ball, and he's gonna drive and he's
- 9:41Speaker 1: gonna shoot. It's gonna be a gonna be a lot
- 9:44Speaker 1: of that. Uh. They play the Pacers tonight at home
- 9:48Speaker 1: and the Hornets are three and five. But you're you're
- 9:50Speaker 1: talking about LaMelo or did I say a Lonzo? Yeah, LaMelo,
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I oh yeah, LaMelo is his first team
- 9:57Speaker 1: stat pattern on this hornet yep. First team stat pattern
- 10:01Speaker 1: sat patter. Yeah, that's kind of like Eddie Orn saying it.
- 10:05Speaker 1: You're all knife and fork him when we're on the road.
- 10:08Speaker 1: He's a first team stat patter is LaMelo ball.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Every every bad team has to have one player that's
- 10:15Speaker 3: putting up, you know, decent numbers.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and he is.
- 10:18Speaker 4: He is our big numbers. Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Twenty eight points, five rebound, six assists. Four. Team that's
- 10:24Speaker 2: three and five and a team that you expect to
- 10:26Speaker 2: be a bottom feeder this year.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't maybe outside chance of making them playing.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, all right, up next, I want to get
- 10:33Speaker 1: to some of the big high school football matchups of
- 10:35Speaker 1: the weekend. We'll do that when we continue on Sports
- 10:37Speaker 1: Radio AM thirteen under the Zone.
