- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome back to artists on, Artists on. Artists and artists
- 0:06Speaker 1: get ready to tingle. Today we're talking to the best
- 0:09Speaker 1: ASMR artists.
- 0:11Speaker 2: ASMR, also known as autonomous sensory meridian response, is the
- 0:17Speaker 2: scientific term for the feeling you get when you hear
- 0:20Speaker 2: somebody making clicks, clacks, scrapes, and scratches.
- 0:24Speaker 3: These artisans, primarily on YouTube and TikTok, have gotten the
- 0:28Speaker 3: tingly sound down to an art We talk to them
- 0:31Speaker 3: about their process.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Let's listen in.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Wow, it's so nice to see everybody. Oh my god,
- 0:42Speaker 2: it's nice to see everybody here in a nice, quiet,
- 0:45Speaker 2: save wonderful space.
- 0:47Speaker 1: This is crazy, meaning some of my idols and contemporaries
- 0:53Speaker 1: in a single special safe space.
- 1:00Speaker 3: To see everybody here in this gorgeous, gorgeous space. And
- 1:05Speaker 3: I'm so grateful to be with.
- 1:06Speaker 4: All of you today.
- 1:08Speaker 5: How are you folks?
- 1:09Speaker 1: WHOA wow?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Wow?
- 1:12Speaker 5: Is it okay that I use this level of velocity?
- 1:16Speaker 2: It is, but you actually can get THEE.
- 1:19Speaker 5: If I use this level of volume.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, And I would actually talk directly on top
- 1:24Speaker 2: of the mic.
- 1:24Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, please never talk to me about the rotation
- 1:28Speaker 5: of my mic.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Again, right, And I want to apologize for the Mike
- 1:31Speaker 2: explaining I've already done as you.
- 1:33Speaker 1: All know, very much displayed Mike's don't get don't get
- 1:37Speaker 1: me started on Mike explaining.
- 1:39Speaker 5: I know my sound and I know where it needs
- 1:41Speaker 5: to fall.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It's the nasty side of our industry.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Mike explaining my explaining, and it's it's it's also the
- 1:47Speaker 3: element of whoever is wearing the headphones house all the power.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Truly, but it's all the stress too. I drew the
- 1:57Speaker 2: short straw. I'm watching our levels as we do this episode.
- 2:02Speaker 1: So why don't we go around and in a special
- 2:06Speaker 1: calm way.
- 2:08Speaker 5: I'm allowed to do it in whatever way I want
- 2:10Speaker 5: to introduce tones. Sorry, I'm a dickhead.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you go first. You introduce yourself. You're the
- 2:18Speaker 1: dickhead ASMR artist.
- 2:20Speaker 5: Right, Hey guys, I'm Richard Blatt and I've been doing
- 2:25Speaker 5: ASMR for a long time and I notoriously have a
- 2:29Speaker 5: bad attitude.
- 2:31Speaker 1: You do a lot of the ASMR artists stuff where
- 2:34Speaker 1: you mimic them being bullied, right.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you do the sounds of people getting swirlies. You
- 2:40Speaker 2: do this ASMR of wet willies.
- 2:43Speaker 3: It is almost like an ASMR bdsm It is almost
- 2:50Speaker 3: like that, some would say.
- 2:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I want to be clear. Sure, some
- 2:56Speaker 5: of my work has some bully elements to it, but
- 2:59Speaker 5: a lot of them. All of my work is feathers.
- 3:02Speaker 5: I play with feathers and I put feathers on the mic,
- 3:05Speaker 5: and I mix those levels. So I just want to
- 3:07Speaker 5: be clear that, like, I'm a dickhead in personality, but
- 3:10Speaker 5: my ASMR is meant for love, peace and meditation.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and what is it like being a bad boy
- 3:17Speaker 2: in the ASMR community.
- 3:20Speaker 5: I'll say it feels always like I don't belong because
- 3:25Speaker 5: I though I may be gentle in ASMR, I am
- 3:29Speaker 5: not in my personality. And I do believe that like
- 3:34Speaker 5: acting like all a SMR artists are gentle is a stereotype.
- 3:40Speaker 5: You should see what I can do with the Bologney sandwich.
- 3:43Speaker 1: And what do you mean by that?
- 3:46Speaker 5: Why don't you wait and see old sport?
- 3:49Speaker 3: Okay, Wow, well I does have a dickhead personality.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I just called a woman old. Didn't love that?
- 3:57Speaker 2: Hi?
- 3:57Speaker 1: My name is Katie. I do ASMR with Katie. I'm
- 4:03Speaker 1: I started this about ten years ago. I'm pretty I
- 4:07Speaker 1: got into the industry pretty early and I love nothing
- 4:11Speaker 1: more than putting people to sleep.
- 4:15Speaker 5: You hit it off pretty big, pretty quick.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yes, that is true. I hit it off pretty big,
- 4:20Speaker 1: pretty quick with some of my original sounds. I was
- 4:24Speaker 1: the one that came up with the sound.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Huge sound, and you copyrighted.
- 4:29Speaker 1: It and I copyrighted it. Yeah, that's Katie's Katie's tick.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It's called Katie's tick, and if you use Katie's tick,
- 4:38Speaker 1: you have to pay me.
- 4:39Speaker 3: I accidentally almost used Katie's tick in a video and
- 4:43Speaker 3: there was a lawyer at my door within ten minutes,
- 4:45Speaker 3: and I hadn't even posted it yet. I simply unmixed
- 4:49Speaker 3: in my garage.
- 4:50Speaker 5: They call Katie the woman in the drafts. She'll hear
- 4:53Speaker 5: your drafts.
- 4:54Speaker 3: She could hear the draft So they have a lot.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Of fun nicknames for me. They call me the woman
- 5:00Speaker 1: the drafts, the witch with the lawyers, they call me
- 5:02Speaker 1: all types of.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Well. They also call you the asm arsonist because if
- 5:07Speaker 2: you don't.
- 5:08Speaker 1: So the big thing is I make fire sounds and
- 5:11Speaker 1: if you don't listen to me, I set to your
- 5:12Speaker 1: house fire.
- 5:14Speaker 3: She's she's scary.
- 5:15Speaker 1: So it's confirmed you do arson not confirmed, not confirmed.
- 5:19Speaker 1: It's just what they call me because of those rumors.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Out those fun, silly special rumors.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Here's a rumor moving through a room.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I can't hear that at all. You might want to
- 5:35Speaker 1: take off your.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Sound and that that is what the as MR bad
- 5:38Speaker 2: Boy does. That's them bad Boy would know the sound
- 5:42Speaker 2: of a rumor moving through a room.
- 5:44Speaker 5: This is the rumor of someone finding out that there
- 5:46Speaker 5: are piece of shit, sort.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Of like a cat hitting a ball of yarn.
- 5:52Speaker 2: And as the man on the mic, I'll tell you
- 5:54Speaker 2: that is good and I can hear it and then
- 5:56Speaker 2: it's gonna work. So really nice one man on the mic,
- 6:00Speaker 2: It's me. I'm as Mr Mic on the mic, and
- 6:05Speaker 2: uh I was a former radio DJ who turned into
- 6:10Speaker 2: an as MR artist. So I do a lot of
- 6:14Speaker 2: raunchy funny you know, as Mr you are at a
- 6:18Speaker 2: wet T shirt contest. As Mr you are at a Hooters.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I am the ASM artist for the macho man who
- 6:28Speaker 2: is looking to go to sleep but is also looking
- 6:29Speaker 2: to have a man's experience.
- 6:31Speaker 1: People have described you as the alpha party as M artist.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah, funway, Yeah, it's it's been really fun. And and
- 6:39Speaker 2: they they did that because I did. Do you are
- 6:43Speaker 2: a SMR you are at an element FAO party in
- 6:46Speaker 2: the Hills.
- 6:48Speaker 5: My favorite of your work is hearing a bud light open.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah I did. I did as Mr. Different volumes
- 6:57Speaker 2: of bud lights opening bud light.
- 6:58Speaker 5: The champagne of beers Mill, you did them all?
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I did them all and it was four
- 7:03Speaker 2: and a half hour video.
- 7:04Speaker 5: And I go to sleep to that a lot.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I'll tell you what. There's nothing like the beginning of
- 7:09Speaker 2: a party where a beer bottle or can or even
- 7:13Speaker 2: jug opens.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Uh.
- 7:15Speaker 2: It just means the party has started, exactly. And these rowdy, rowdy,
- 7:22Speaker 2: macho men they love to go to sleep too. That's
- 7:24Speaker 2: when we don't talk about men like to sleep as well.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Finally, someone like so courageous that you admit that, yeah,
- 7:33Speaker 1: like to sleep.
- 7:34Speaker 2: It's good. It's hard to stay alive in the ASMR
- 7:41Speaker 2: community for me. But that's called an overshare, So I
- 7:45Speaker 2: won't be doing that quite yet.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Of course. Well, I am Denise Flower. I am a
- 7:54Speaker 3: as MR Artist or as I like to call as artist.
- 8:01Speaker 1: We've all been saying that already.
- 8:05Speaker 5: Sweet, you thought you thought of that by yourself.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Well, I believe that I'm getting getting a little hot.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that I came up with that just now.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Now what I do is I create office soundscapes. So
- 8:25Speaker 3: I create ASMR for corporate email girlies who are out
- 8:31Speaker 3: of work. So I imitate the sounds of being at
- 8:35Speaker 3: an office, the water cooler, the email shuffleing, you.
- 8:46Speaker 5: Know when you shuffle your emails. I like the shuffle
- 8:49Speaker 5: of like their cards and concluded.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Because then it's like, oh, what's this from twenty seventeen?
- 8:55Speaker 3: I forgot to respond to this.
- 8:58Speaker 1: So it's the useful so is good.
- 9:00Speaker 2: It's a tool, it's great.
- 9:02Speaker 3: And I also initiate the the I try to capture
- 9:07Speaker 3: the feeling of a warm and welcoming boss. So hey, everybody,
- 9:12Speaker 3: thanks for hopping on zoom at nine am. I h
- 9:14Speaker 3: house everybody's weekend. Good good, let's hop into it.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yeah. I will say you're a little controversial in the
- 9:21Speaker 2: community because of the amount of dialogue you use. You
- 9:24Speaker 2: use a lot of dialogue.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Dialogue with using dialogue, you know, sometimes if I have
- 9:30Speaker 1: to give somebody a haircut, I will be the barber
- 9:33Speaker 1: or I will be the salon worker.
- 9:35Speaker 5: It's kind of like the auto tune of vocalists where
- 9:38Speaker 5: we kind of think you're kind of kind you're kind
- 9:41Speaker 5: of shoving it down someone's throat the environment.
- 9:43Speaker 3: It's that I resent that some people say that, let's argue.
- 9:48Speaker 5: I'm not scared ark.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Let's say, and I know you want to argue. I
- 9:51Speaker 3: know the bad boy is always looking for I really
- 9:54Speaker 3: want to argue. They call me as a mar Oh,
- 9:58Speaker 3: like a pirate.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Who's calling you that?
- 10:02Speaker 5: The Washington Post?
- 10:04Speaker 3: Oh wow, you got the Post to review your videos.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I've gotten nowhere close to that, So congratulations on that.
- 10:11Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 10:11Speaker 1: On your side, though, playing a person is fine.
- 10:14Speaker 5: It wrote about me because I committed a crime.
- 10:17Speaker 2: But it's okay.
- 10:21Speaker 3: This actually you committed a pirate crime. You're a pirate.
- 10:24Speaker 3: This actually makes more sense.
- 10:27Speaker 5: It was maritime law. We'll get into it later.
- 10:29Speaker 3: SMR does not get a lot of media coverage.
- 10:32Speaker 1: No, it's kind of a niche of a niche. It's
- 10:35Speaker 1: kind of if you know what it is, you're special.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I deserve all of the rewards you're looking for. Now,
- 10:44Speaker 1: how about you sit down and I'll give you a haircut.
- 10:49Speaker 1: How does a haircut sound for my big, big, strong boy?
- 10:56Speaker 2: You know, I wanted to talk about something that that
- 11:00Speaker 2: directly reminded me. People think that this is a fetish.
- 11:03Speaker 1: No, they definitely think it's a finish.
- 11:06Speaker 5: They all think.
- 11:07Speaker 2: It's so frustrating as an artist to be told that
- 11:11Speaker 2: my work of art is a fetish. I don't want
- 11:15Speaker 2: anyone thinking that what I'm doing is sexual in any way.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Well, it's tough because you go to Hooters quite frequently
- 11:23Speaker 3: in your work.
- 11:24Speaker 2: I've said time and time again, Hooters is not sexual.
- 11:27Speaker 2: They have great wings. Hooters has great wings, and it
- 11:30Speaker 2: has a great community.
- 11:32Speaker 5: People have a lot of sex to Drake's music. He
- 11:35Speaker 5: doesn't get sexualized.
- 11:37Speaker 1: No, I don't think Drake is ever getting sexualized. That's true.
- 11:40Speaker 3: What I mean that is actually true. I think that's true.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Not he let me say, is a sex symbol.
- 11:49Speaker 5: I think I spoke. I spoke wrong.
- 11:52Speaker 1: What's new, Katie and I have?
- 11:57Speaker 5: I have definitely done.
- 11:57Speaker 2: A couple of interviews. Can we not fight?
- 12:02Speaker 3: Sorry, we're cheering a bunch of glasses to this.
- 12:05Speaker 5: They're cheering.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Shorter's numbers are fantastic.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Okay, I'm putting up a stop sign. That's what I'm doing.
- 12:14Speaker 3: That was really fast.
- 12:15Speaker 1: What I meant is, well, I just drove right through
- 12:22Speaker 1: that and you stop signing.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Well, here I come.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I'm the police, tiny police, Rah rah rah. Rah rah
- 12:32Speaker 1: the police.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Hello, Hello, Okay, Well I was going to say raw
- 12:37Speaker 3: rah rah. I am a protester and I am doing
- 12:40Speaker 3: anti police action.
- 12:41Speaker 5: Here comes the sounds of a police person hating protesters. Stereotypes.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Oh god, the bad boy is so bad. They're just
- 12:51Speaker 1: hitting the mic saying weird big.
- 12:53Speaker 5: This is the sound of a stereotype.
- 12:56Speaker 1: And I really love if you stop doing that. It's
- 13:00Speaker 1: really loud. Hey, and you're just saying this is the
- 13:03Speaker 1: sound of the stereo.
- 13:04Speaker 5: This is the sound of a rumor. This is the
- 13:06Speaker 5: sound of a stereotype.
- 13:08Speaker 1: It's really I don't think you understand how loud.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Because it's really loud.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I'm a mixer on the artist I know, and I'm
- 13:14Speaker 2: the mixer.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Do you guys, are you all love? Are you all
- 13:20Speaker 3: one stop shops? Or do you have people working under
- 13:23Speaker 3: you mixing your sound?
- 13:25Speaker 1: And I love this question for me because it kind
- 13:29Speaker 1: of gets into the special methodological approach that I take. Yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 1: I have a team of forty people that work for
- 13:39Speaker 1: me and help me create a soundscape worth falling a
- 13:45Speaker 1: sleep too.
- 13:47Speaker 5: Oh yeah, can you address that sometimes you like your
- 13:52Speaker 5: work tends to be a little provocative.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I will address it. Thank you. I'm not trying to
- 13:59Speaker 1: be provocative. I've never tried to be provocative. I'm not
- 14:05Speaker 1: trying to get you up. I'm trying to put you
- 14:08Speaker 1: to sleep. So if you want to get up, prove
- 14:11Speaker 1: it you didn't. You know there's to me let me
- 14:18Speaker 1: see it. Then huh.
- 14:20Speaker 2: If you think you can get up there, that is
- 14:22Speaker 2: dispelling nothing.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Something about the as m R community that I think
- 14:28Speaker 3: people would be surprised by. It's just how antagonistic it is.
- 14:32Speaker 1: It's and I will say, terrible choice for us to
- 14:35Speaker 1: use the squeakiest most wooden chairs for this episode.
- 14:39Speaker 5: I actually like it.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I was making that noise.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Wait, so every time we hear a squeak, so you're
- 14:50Speaker 2: watching our bodies intently, and every time I'm.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Watching your bodies and going.
- 14:55Speaker 5: For the audio listener. Yep, she stuck her tongue.
- 14:59Speaker 3: That was me. No I made a squeaky noise. Don't
- 15:03Speaker 3: lie to them. I made a squeaky noise.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Well, anyway, it's getting hot in earth.
- 15:09Speaker 3: It's getting hot in here.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Guys. A question I've been dying to ask a group,
- 15:14Speaker 1: but I never surround myself with other artists to ask, so.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Of curiosity, please don't got I got you, I got
- 15:26Speaker 5: your neck.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Please don't do this today.
- 15:31Speaker 5: Sorry, I can't blow it all too quick?
- 15:34Speaker 2: Okay, bad boy? Please?
- 15:35Speaker 1: When do you guys feel like your favorite sounds are?
- 15:40Speaker 1: Is there ever a sound you like want to include
- 15:43Speaker 1: as much as possible because it makes you happy? Oh
- 15:46Speaker 1: for calm or relaxed.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I love a Rico copy scanner. It is the most
- 15:52Speaker 3: soothing sound in the world.
- 15:54Speaker 5: It's an old sound.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Yeah, it's an old sound.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Can you can you show us the difference between a
- 15:59Speaker 2: Rico a brother and a brother and a cannon?
- 16:02Speaker 3: Oh a brother? Yeah, well brother h L if you
- 16:04Speaker 3: don't mind, right, we're right, okay, so uh well, a
- 16:07Speaker 3: Rico sounds like this good, but a brother HL is
- 16:22Speaker 3: a little more like this.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Pressure. Only the expert would be able to tell those
- 16:34Speaker 1: two apart.
- 16:35Speaker 3: No, but there's a difference, that's the thing. It's a
- 16:38Speaker 3: very subtle difference. I'm not gonna lie and exactly.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Feminine and I do just want to give your heads
- 16:45Speaker 2: up that that brother is low.
- 16:46Speaker 5: On toner and I can and that's good. Ears. Can
- 16:49Speaker 5: we talk about that. It's not just a good instrument.
- 16:52Speaker 5: A big part of an ASM artist is yours well.
- 16:55Speaker 2: We're talking favorite sounds. Is there a favorite sound of
- 16:58Speaker 2: years bad?
- 17:00Speaker 5: One of my favorite sounds is the sound of stealing.
- 17:02Speaker 5: You're stealing of any kind.
- 17:10Speaker 1: So what you're saying is you're actually a lot more symbolic.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Than you're very esoteric. You just heard.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Specifically, I said stealing as like a as a style.
- 17:20Speaker 5: But what you just heard just now is someone being pickpocketed.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And I did just check my wallet and it is gone.
- 17:27Speaker 5: So yes, I do it for real.
- 17:31Speaker 1: A lot of your sounds are for real.
- 17:32Speaker 3: So you're a method ASMR artist in a way.
- 17:36Speaker 5: Sometimes sometimes I'll use I'll use my instrument in my mouth,
- 17:40Speaker 5: my tongue, and then other times I'll do the action
- 17:44Speaker 5: and if that gets on mic and that's the sound,
- 17:46Speaker 5: then Merry Christmas.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Sure exactly.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Well, just also, let's let's call it like we see it.
- 17:55Speaker 2: ASMR is not specifically mouth sounds usually right, it's actually
- 17:58Speaker 2: using props and and so what we're doing is, you know,
- 18:02Speaker 2: we can we all probably have truckloads of props we
- 18:05Speaker 2: wanted to bring, so we're simulating what we can here exactly.
- 18:09Speaker 5: We similar to Foley. We can produce it or we
- 18:14Speaker 5: can create it. But what it's used for is different
- 18:18Speaker 5: than fully, it's not telling a story. It's actually it's
- 18:21Speaker 5: it's a meditative statement and creating.
- 18:22Speaker 2: And this podcast wouldn't let us do a load in
- 18:25Speaker 2: so we couldn't bring any of our stuff, I know.
- 18:26Speaker 5: But like we're similar to sound bath artists. My wife
- 18:29Speaker 5: is a sound bath artist. Oh cool, and we are
- 18:32Speaker 5: we are using sounds to bring someone somewhere right. We
- 18:36Speaker 5: are not using sounds to say that Indiana Jones is
- 18:42Speaker 5: in a cave.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Speak for yourself.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Are you doing?
- 18:45Speaker 1: Is that one of your favorite?
- 18:46Speaker 2: Well? Sometimes I do kind of guy movies, movies that
- 18:49Speaker 2: guys like. It's not one of my favorite sounds. But
- 18:51Speaker 2: I have done sounds of top gun. I've done sounds
- 18:54Speaker 2: of a few good Men.
- 18:55Speaker 5: I've done sons of a few good men.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Well it's not really uh, it's not really very appropriate.
- 19:05Speaker 2: But I do the Code Red and a few good Men,
- 19:09Speaker 2: which is of course marines, uh, roughing up another marine
- 19:12Speaker 2: until that guy dies.
- 19:15Speaker 1: That sounds awesome, cold cold.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Then I do boots marching. I do sometimes, uh, some
- 19:25Speaker 2: sounds of Cuba in the background I do.
- 19:28Speaker 1: How do you capture Cuba in the background? I heard it.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the beach island, islands island and courtroom stuff,
- 19:38Speaker 2: you know, beep beep. Of of course security all rise,
- 19:43Speaker 2: but leaving a.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Seat, you bill, So that's why you don't use your mouth.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Use what the Lord gave me, which is my butt.
- 19:55Speaker 2: And uh yeah, jury gabbl it's a gabble. And I
- 20:04Speaker 2: do a lot of stuff, but I gotta say I
- 20:05Speaker 2: think my favorite sound is a burger on the grill.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Oh oh, it sounds delicious, that's so relaxing.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Yeah, gosh, it basically put me to sleep. I wish
- 20:19Speaker 1: I was an alpha male. I would be dozing off
- 20:23Speaker 1: like a little teddy bear.
- 20:24Speaker 2: And who wants ketchup?
- 20:28Speaker 3: Ketchup is so much louder than the burger.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. Sometimes sometimes I look at the comments that
- 20:34Speaker 2: every one says that no ketchup. I didn't order ketchup.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Please don't give me ketchup. I would like to return
- 20:39Speaker 2: the burger. Stop putting so much ketchup on this burger.
- 20:45Speaker 2: They don't want ketchup, but want it. We don't actually
- 20:48Speaker 2: do modifications in my kitchen or a man's kitchen.
- 20:53Speaker 1: That's one of my favorite soundscapes is a slippery bathroom,
- 20:59Speaker 1: which is I'll just do it for you now.
- 21:02Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, this bathroom, it's a lot of dialogue
- 21:12Speaker 6: in this is so slippery.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Whoa oh oh no no, oh my head, I'm bleeding.
- 21:27Speaker 2: That's what.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I'll get out.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I get out. I'll get out.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I can make it.
- 21:37Speaker 2: I'll get out.
- 21:37Speaker 4: I'll get out of here.
- 21:38Speaker 1: It's so slippery. It's so slippery.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Oh whoa wow.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Stairs, stairs, downstairs.
- 21:48Speaker 4: These slippery slairs stairs.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Who put stairs in this bathroom?
- 21:51Speaker 5: Cellar brains affected? Because you're called stairs slayers?
- 21:55Speaker 2: Yep?
- 21:58Speaker 1: Oh I did it again?
- 22:03Speaker 5: Character, your storyteller.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I tell a.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Story that's one of my recurring character, A girl who
- 22:09Speaker 1: cannot get out of a slippery bathroom with stairs. I
- 22:13Speaker 1: like to call them, not because of brain damage, slayes. Guys,
- 22:17Speaker 1: there's slippery stairs.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Oh, sort of like a cute But you said, but
- 22:23Speaker 2: you said slippery before it.
- 22:25Speaker 5: He said slippery slays.
- 22:27Speaker 6: Okay, okay, okay, okay, And I've heard it, okay heard well.
- 22:35Speaker 3: I you know that that sound, which was very elongated,
- 22:40Speaker 3: complete when you'd consider that one sound makes me want
- 22:45Speaker 3: to know. And I'm pretty familiar with all of your work,
- 22:48Speaker 3: but I was wondering if we'd like to go around
- 22:52Speaker 3: and humble brag a little bit. Maybe play our most
- 22:55Speaker 3: viral video, a false viral video, A little chunk of that.
- 23:00Speaker 3: I can say this is hyper ultra realistic office. It
- 23:07Speaker 3: got twenty four million views on YouTube and it has
- 23:11Speaker 3: done quite well for me, So I'll just go ahead
- 23:14Speaker 3: and play that. Hey, thanks for hopping on Zoom everybody.
- 23:21Speaker 3: It's nine oh one and I guess we better get started.
- 23:24Speaker 3: So thank you guys for joining me. There will be
- 23:29Speaker 3: mass layoffs, and if you are on this Zoom, your
- 23:33Speaker 3: job will be terminated. You can go to HR for
- 23:38Speaker 3: more paperwork and you will be processed. You will be
- 23:41Speaker 3: receiving severance depending on your seniority of your position. And wait,
- 23:48Speaker 3: you're firing me. I worked here for twenty five years.
- 23:51Speaker 3: I have kids, I have a family. Oh my god,
- 23:54Speaker 3: how am I going to feed my kids and family? Well,
- 23:57Speaker 3: we've had to make some tough choices here. The budget,
- 24:00Speaker 3: it's it's just the way it's shaking out. AI is
- 24:03Speaker 3: going to unfortunately absorb a lot of this.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Ay, I more like, fuck you.
- 24:09Speaker 5: I'm gonna kill you right there, Pep.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I was dozing off and I've heard this.
- 24:16Speaker 5: Video is being adapted into a screenplay.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Yeah, Aaron Sorkin is quite interested.
- 24:21Speaker 2: So it's being adapted to do a screenplay.
- 24:29Speaker 3: No, he just expressed an interest in buying the rights
- 24:35Speaker 3: to write a screenplay of it and shelve it and
- 24:39Speaker 3: sell it to no one.
- 24:41Speaker 1: So that's gonna be really the process of writing so much.
- 24:45Speaker 3: He really does it for the craft and the craft alone,
- 24:48Speaker 3: which you've got to respect. You don't have many odd tours.
- 24:50Speaker 1: During this time, I'll play one of my viral clips.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I'm so excited to share with you. This is a
- 24:58Speaker 1: little bit of an embarrassing one. This is one of
- 25:02Speaker 1: my favorite early ones. It kind of put me on
- 25:04Speaker 1: the map. This is called nighttime teddy Bear.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Nervous nervous?
- 25:11Speaker 1: Oh no, Hi, it's time for your nighttime teddy bear haircut.
- 25:17Speaker 1: You're a little teddy bear? Why and I clip some
- 25:19Speaker 1: hair off of you? S snip? How does that feel?
- 25:30Speaker 4: It's going slow? Does it feel good getting your hair
- 25:33Speaker 4: snipped right off of your head?
- 25:34Speaker 1: You little teddy bear?
- 25:36Speaker 4: You a teddy bear?
- 25:37Speaker 1: Good night? Did you stop an good? What the fuck
- 25:42Speaker 1: were you doing back there?
- 25:42Speaker 2: John? Shut up?
- 25:43Speaker 1: When I'm recording, Shut up, shut your fucking mouth.
- 25:46Speaker 3: I was just okay, so this is why I went viral.
- 25:50Speaker 3: This is why I went viral.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Viral because the haircut was so good for the teddy Bear.
- 25:54Speaker 3: No, I think it was the blatant interruption and you
- 25:57Speaker 3: caught on a hot mic screaming at your.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Who's John, Katie?
- 26:01Speaker 1: John is nobody anymore?
- 26:03Speaker 5: He's okay, So he's your.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Ex boy He's nobody, nobody any more, and he doesn't
- 26:13Speaker 1: have rights to come over to my house any more.
- 26:16Speaker 5: You got a restraining or against your ex boyfriend.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I lie to the police. Yes, okay, the police about
- 26:27Speaker 1: my boyfriend, and so now he can't come near me anymore.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Okay, all right, Well great video, okay, okay, great fantastic single.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Yes, great?
- 26:42Speaker 3: You mean what do you mean great?
- 26:44Speaker 5: Hold on?
- 26:45Speaker 2: No, No, I'm just I think it's interesting.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Are you available?
- 26:50Speaker 2: No? I think it's great because I'm scared for any
- 26:52Speaker 2: man who would date you.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Okay that I'll take it, and I'll turn that in
- 26:57Speaker 1: to a flower, as I do with everything in my life.
- 27:01Speaker 1: What's your most viral sound?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Well, I go viral for this every few months. It's
- 27:07Speaker 2: as Mr You're waiting for a table at the hard
- 27:10Speaker 2: Rock Cafe. So so more than a oh our tables ready. Wow.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Wow, It's like I'm there.
- 27:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I can't. I think I was trying to play
- 27:33Speaker 5: it cool. I'm such a fan of your work. Thank you,
- 27:36Speaker 5: bad boy, thank you.
- 27:39Speaker 2: You've been so mean to me and you have me
- 27:41Speaker 2: hostage to the microphone and the head.
- 27:45Speaker 5: That's how I express love.
- 27:46Speaker 2: And guess what. I saw that and I know that
- 27:48Speaker 2: because that's exactly how I express love. You probably know
- 27:53Speaker 2: that based on my A S m R video. You're
- 27:55Speaker 2: rough housing with the boys after a couple of beers.
- 27:59Speaker 5: Please please of course, sorry, sorry.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I could fight you, but I could fight you. I
- 28:15Speaker 2: could fight you right now. I could fight you right now.
- 28:20Speaker 1: That great choice for that last friend.
- 28:25Speaker 3: This video is quite personal for me, and I'm tearing
- 28:28Speaker 3: up a little bit here in it because I played
- 28:30Speaker 3: this for my father and it was the first time
- 28:33Speaker 3: he said I love you after that video.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Somatic responses, right, we haven't talked quite about that. The
- 28:40Speaker 2: science of ASMR. It connects to something that is almost
- 28:44Speaker 2: primitive in the brain, and it brings out feelings, physical sensations,
- 28:47Speaker 2: and emotions that people don't know they have. So I've
- 28:51Speaker 2: heard that a lot that these sounds actually cause men
- 28:53Speaker 2: to say I love you to whoever they're near.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Oh so you think it doesn't You don't think he
- 28:58Speaker 3: loves me.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
- 29:02Speaker 3: No, you just said it's kind of random.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Well, no, I just I just know. Men always comment
- 29:06Speaker 2: I saw this video and said, I love you to
- 29:08Speaker 2: the person sitting next to me. So, but it could
- 29:10Speaker 2: be it's always there. It's always their wife, it's always
- 29:12Speaker 2: their son, it's always it's one person said I saw
- 29:15Speaker 2: this video and said I love you to the person
- 29:17Speaker 2: you know, meet or maid who was giving me a ticket.
- 29:19Speaker 5: And I would never say I love you in one
- 29:21Speaker 5: of those bitches.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Oh wow, oh wow wow.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Hostile.
- 29:25Speaker 2: That is crazy.
- 29:26Speaker 1: What's one of your favorites sounds that you've gone by
- 29:28Speaker 1: speaking of?
- 29:28Speaker 5: It's hostile. I don't know why it went viral, but
- 29:30Speaker 5: here it is.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Can you also, Can you please stop doing the noise?
- 29:33Speaker 2: Is what I sait back.
- 29:33Speaker 3: No, I can't stop doing it. I can't.
- 29:37Speaker 5: It's making this studio that was perfect for podcasts really inconvenience.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I can't stop doing my art. It's the sound of
- 29:44Speaker 3: a corporate chair moving and.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Now you're screaming, and now you're screaming.
- 29:49Speaker 3: I'm not screaming, Okay, I'm being emphatic. Go ahead, I
- 29:55Speaker 3: want to hear.
- 29:55Speaker 2: The clip, bad boy. Let's hear your your most viral clip.
- 30:00Speaker 5: Actually, James Rod mind, I'm gonna play one of my
- 30:02Speaker 5: feather sounds.
- 30:03Speaker 1: So these feathers sounds, to be clear, aren't viral at all,
- 30:06Speaker 1: but you want to play them anyway?
- 30:08Speaker 2: Yeah, going raw dog in the mic?
- 30:15Speaker 5: Do you hear that in your ears?
- 30:16Speaker 2: Do?
- 30:17Speaker 5: This is a sound of a feather.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Against them mic.
- 30:26Speaker 1: It feels disrespectful when you whenever you tryspect feels really mean.
- 30:33Speaker 1: And now that's gotta be making a sounds.
- 30:35Speaker 5: You're trying to put this thing, yes, sound to be
- 30:37Speaker 5: putting the condom on the mic? Oh, Jesus, who am
- 30:41Speaker 5: I disrespecting? Who are the ASMR gods? Let's talk about it.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Who are the people who have come before us? Because
- 30:47Speaker 5: I am doing ASMR in the way I want to
- 30:49Speaker 5: do it. I want like if one was maybe I
- 30:52Speaker 5: don't know, like saying a text that someone wrote wrong,
- 30:56Speaker 5: you would say they are disrespecting the original intent of
- 30:59Speaker 5: the text. But the original intent of ASMR can be
- 31:02Speaker 5: whatever the artist's intents.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Okay, A real Jackson Pollock of ASMR.
- 31:08Speaker 5: I'm just confused, like, do you guys have mentors.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Or the difference between ASMR and making random sounds into
- 31:15Speaker 1: a microphone?
- 31:17Speaker 5: And I think the difference is the artist's intent.
- 31:19Speaker 2: This is going to go viral for how nasty are being.
- 31:22Speaker 3: This is going to go viral.
- 31:23Speaker 2: We're screaming. I want to know.
- 31:27Speaker 1: My voice at you, but I will here I go.
- 31:30Speaker 1: You better cut it out, you better.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Oh no, it's an AMR brawl.
- 31:36Speaker 1: You better cut.
- 31:40Speaker 5: Sets me punching you. Here's my ego being hurt.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Please please, please stop, not only for my headphones, but
- 31:50Speaker 2: for whoever is listening.
- 31:53Speaker 5: Please, And I will do what I do at the
- 31:54Speaker 5: end of all my videos. I will apologize to people
- 31:57Speaker 5: on bad headphones.
- 32:01Speaker 3: That is actually a very noble thing to do because
- 32:07Speaker 3: as MR is quite rough on people with bad headphones,
- 32:11Speaker 3: the people who are using the free headphones they give
- 32:14Speaker 3: out on the airlines.
- 32:16Speaker 1: You know who's holding onto those.
- 32:18Speaker 5: But I want to I want to know, do you
- 32:20Speaker 5: guys have mentors or do you believe there's a founding
- 32:22Speaker 5: father or founding mother of ASMR.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I feel like there is, and it's called outside experience.
- 32:30Speaker 1: That's where other nature mother nature ya ya, And.
- 32:34Speaker 2: For me it's the Industrial Revolution. So many noises came
- 32:38Speaker 2: out about there.
- 32:39Speaker 3: You know, we wouldn't be anywhere without the Industrial Revolution.
- 32:43Speaker 2: One of my favorite guys on as Mr YouTube is uh,
- 32:49Speaker 2: professor Professor Tingles, and he does, he does, you know, Pov,
- 32:53Speaker 2: you are getting blood let in the in the Middle Ages, you.
- 32:59Speaker 5: Were you have the skill of fever in your walking.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a lot of asmr of history. And he does, Uh,
- 33:05Speaker 2: as Mr Pov, you are building the bridges in Pittsburgh
- 33:10Speaker 2: for Andrew Carnegie, and it is so incredible. It is
- 33:14Speaker 2: so beautiful. Brick by brick, steel by steel, you're melting
- 33:17Speaker 2: the steel.
- 33:18Speaker 1: He's he does some incredible doing that one for what
- 33:22Speaker 1: thirty hours?
- 33:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he's got thirty hours on it. He's
- 33:25Speaker 2: he's trying in real time to do as many videos
- 33:28Speaker 2: as it took for them to build the bridge.
- 33:31Speaker 3: In a way. He's, yeah, he's building that bridge in
- 33:34Speaker 3: all of our minds and hearts.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Yeah. He got the bridge foreman's call sheet, the real
- 33:41Speaker 2: call sheet from when they were actually making that bridge, the.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Call sheet for the construction workers.
- 33:47Speaker 5: For never really thought like how construction workers know where
- 33:50Speaker 5: and when to show much hospital.
- 33:53Speaker 3: I guess they do just have a call sheet.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Much the director number one on the call sheet, because
- 33:59Speaker 2: he showed it number one of the calls. She was
- 34:00Speaker 2: Andrew Carnegie, of course, and then it was the foreman
- 34:03Speaker 2: number two.
- 34:04Speaker 5: And yeah, different call times had ins and outs.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So if you were melting the steel,
- 34:09Speaker 2: you were coming in early. If you were using the
- 34:13Speaker 2: steel to other pieces of steel, you were coming in
- 34:15Speaker 2: a little bit later. And if you're polishing the steel,
- 34:16Speaker 2: you're coming in last.
- 34:17Speaker 1: And are those all start work finished or are they
- 34:19Speaker 1: kind of picked up for recurring.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Yeah, first lunch, second lunch, start work finish. Yeah. Amazing,
- 34:24Speaker 2: amazing progressive stuff in the early nineteen hundreds from Andrew
- 34:27Speaker 2: Carnegie in Pittsburgh. Wow.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Yeah, Andrew Carnegie really like famously. Yeah, yea, yeah, that's amazing.
- 34:33Speaker 5: Were some of your guys mentors?
- 34:34Speaker 1: Well, I'll go ahead, no I said gaya, mother.
- 34:38Speaker 3: You did say guya? I have a mentor who was?
- 34:41Speaker 3: She kind of was a sealing shatterer in the corporate
- 34:45Speaker 3: ASMR space. Her name was Paper one Word, and she
- 34:51Speaker 3: she did the famous video you've probably seen it, Women
- 34:56Speaker 3: gossiping outside of the Water cooler about the company, and
- 35:02Speaker 3: I'll just play it. You probably know it.
- 35:06Speaker 4: Did you hear there's layoffs?
- 35:07Speaker 1: I didn't, did you?
- 35:10Speaker 2: Wait?
- 35:10Speaker 3: No, because like Alice was here and then all of
- 35:13Speaker 3: a sudden she was like.
- 35:14Speaker 4: Packing up her stuff.
- 35:15Speaker 1: My god, wait they fired her.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Thanks for the water.
- 35:24Speaker 3: And so I just don't know if I should, like,
- 35:28Speaker 3: if I should put in my two weeks or if
- 35:30Speaker 3: I should check the schedule.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Thanks for the water.
- 35:33Speaker 2: What's up? Girls working harder, hardly working.
- 35:38Speaker 1: So anyway, what I was thinking is maybe what we
- 35:40Speaker 1: do is we kind of talked to the box first
- 35:43Speaker 1: about it. Figure it out.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, maybe we can. Thanks for the water.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Sorry, I've made fish. Sorry, I brat fish.
- 35:54Speaker 1: It's stinky.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Wow.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Workvironment in the background, talk work environment in the background.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Oh my god, I got fired. I lived and died
- 36:06Speaker 3: by this company. I gave it everything. And I am
- 36:10Speaker 3: a kid. I am a kid, I have a kid.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Wow.
- 36:15Speaker 1: That was such a prolific sound.
- 36:17Speaker 2: It's great the paper made that.
- 36:18Speaker 5: Someone by the name of paper.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Paper made that. She made all those sounds with her
- 36:22Speaker 3: mouth at the same time.
- 36:23Speaker 2: I remember she caused a huge uproar because she used
- 36:25Speaker 2: a rights free horn sound effect.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Yeah, she downloaded it MB three styles, she looked up
- 36:36Speaker 1: smelly sound effect.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Everything else was so realistic, and people said, is there
- 36:40Speaker 2: a place for ASM artists to have commentary in their work?
- 36:43Speaker 3: And it unleashed a whole uproar of are we allowed
- 36:49Speaker 3: to add MP threes? Does it take you out of it?
- 36:52Speaker 3: Can you use royalty free stuff?
- 36:54Speaker 2: Like?
- 36:54Speaker 1: I started getting meta comedy ASMR and that was just
- 36:59Speaker 1: that is okay of one of my least favorite meta
- 37:02Speaker 1: comedy a SMR cliffs by the name of Dougie six
- 37:05Speaker 1: nine six twenty x x x.
- 37:08Speaker 2: I this guy and this is him.
- 37:10Speaker 5: I know this guy too. He's a tool coming from me.
- 37:13Speaker 5: That's a lot.
- 37:13Speaker 2: He's kind of the Anakin skywalker of our field. As
- 37:16Speaker 2: he was the chosen one. We thought he was going
- 37:18Speaker 2: to do it, Okay, thought he was going to do
- 37:21Speaker 2: he was going to do it. We thought he was
- 37:24Speaker 2: going to do We thought he was going to really
- 37:25Speaker 2: do it. We dream thought he was going to be
- 37:30Speaker 2: the one getting, the one that chose he was the
- 37:32Speaker 2: one to do it.
- 37:33Speaker 3: What is he going to.
- 37:36Speaker 2: The one that the prophecies have told us about?
- 37:39Speaker 1: Okay, anyway, here's the clip that he released. This is
- 37:43Speaker 1: called men's locker room.
- 37:47Speaker 2: I'm a big old man. I'm a big old man. Oh.
- 37:51Speaker 2: I guess chilling before a workout was a bad idea.

- 38:18Speaker 5: I've never seen her part before Target. We thought he
- 38:26Speaker 5: was the guy.
- 38:27Speaker 2: It's so crazy and and and honestly, all of it
- 38:30Speaker 2: was great. And then the fact that he stole Target
- 38:34Speaker 2: Lady from christ was the reason he went down. Yeah,
- 38:40Speaker 2: he got sued by Lord Michael Music.
- 38:42Speaker 5: He took the worst character to take. It was so
- 38:44Speaker 5: beloved by.
- 38:45Speaker 3: So many, It was so one of the clearest, standout characters.
- 38:50Speaker 2: And not so long not only owned by Christen Wig
- 38:53Speaker 2: and Lord Michael's and NBC, but also co owned by Target,
- 38:58Speaker 2: so multiple corporations came in.
- 39:00Speaker 5: I think that was what a what a mess? All awesome?
- 39:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I actually thought he was gonna do I thought
- 39:05Speaker 2: he was gonna do it. We thought he was going
- 39:07Speaker 2: to put another clip from it.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Let's play another clip, play another clip.
- 39:11Speaker 2: This man is canceled. We do not need to listen
- 39:14Speaker 2: to to clips.
- 39:15Speaker 5: We can listen to paper.
- 39:19Speaker 1: No wed this listening to Dougie six Nights six four
- 39:23Speaker 1: twenty x x x. He makes boys sleep Away Camp.
- 39:26Speaker 5: You can hear potential in this.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Here's boys sleep Away Camp and play.
- 39:32Speaker 2: I don't want to go.
- 39:34Speaker 3: To sleep a wee camp. I'm so tired and I
- 39:37Speaker 3: want to sleep in my own bed.

- 40:18Speaker 5: Yeah, please turn it off, turn it off.
- 40:23Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I have one more clip.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Man, it hurts, k Katie. We work in YouTube. This
- 40:34Speaker 2: is literally someone who works in YouTube's biggest nightmare to
- 40:37Speaker 2: be held hostage to watch multiple videos you don't like.
- 40:40Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I don't. I just have to show it
- 40:42Speaker 1: the clip of how bad it was.
- 40:49Speaker 2: You you're hurting clip. You're hurting us how more? Because Yeah,
- 40:54Speaker 2: he was gonna be the one.
- 40:56Speaker 5: He was gonna do what we always dreamed.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I'm sorry. We don't have to listen to it, but
- 41:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna play it anyway.
- 41:03Speaker 5: Here's a dream here it is.
- 41:06Speaker 2: We literally, we literally were ready to change the world.
- 41:12Speaker 2: He just needed to get in place he needed He
- 41:16Speaker 2: was the final puzzle piece and he threw it away.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Let's listen to it. Oh you're you pulled up quef party.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Here's quef party play.
- 41:26Speaker 3: I'm a big old lady and I just ate a
- 41:29Speaker 3: bunch of beans and.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I don't know if I can do it.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Oh my god, all these beans are gonna make me
- 41:47Speaker 3: fart out of my pussy.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Huh huh?
- 41:53Speaker 1: Who lives in that.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Queen?
- 41:57Speaker 5: Pussy?
- 41:57Speaker 2: Far queen?
- 41:58Speaker 1: We're talking to me? Are you talking to her?
- 42:01Speaker 5: You could be talking her?
- 42:03Speaker 2: Did somebody see my name?
- 42:05Speaker 1: Three times?
- 42:06Speaker 2: I'm beetlejuice. This is a cry for help.
- 42:10Speaker 3: No van down by the river.
- 42:13Speaker 5: I'm luster halt.
- 42:19Speaker 1: My Katie.
- 42:20Speaker 2: I can't.
- 42:21Speaker 5: I can't, Katie.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I leave the room.
- 42:24Speaker 3: I can't someone who's not in the room. I just
- 42:31Speaker 3: want to think about that for a second, because I
- 42:33Speaker 3: think we just spent twenty percent of this podcast.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Katie, no disrespect, but they could do this at Guantanamo.
- 42:40Speaker 2: This is cruel and unusual punishment. This is so awful
- 42:46Speaker 2: because you almost had it, You just almost. It's it's
- 42:49Speaker 2: like showing a clip over and over and over of
- 42:52Speaker 2: somebody three inches away from catching the fly ball that
- 42:55Speaker 2: would have ended in a Super Bowl you worked for.
- 42:59Speaker 1: I hated it. I hate it, But that third time
- 43:01Speaker 1: got me. I don't know, there's something transcendent about it.
- 43:04Speaker 1: It's commentary. It's commentary. And now I see how he
- 43:07Speaker 1: could have been the one. Now I definitely see how
- 43:09Speaker 1: he could.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Part part of me thinks he was just switching the
- 43:11Speaker 2: channel on his TV just.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I went from the River to and I'm.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that was he was going from NBC
- 43:28Speaker 3: to MSNBC.
- 43:29Speaker 2: I think so. I think the channels are back down.
- 43:34Speaker 3: The channels are back down. What do you guys say
- 43:37Speaker 3: about now that we're on the subject about cheaters in
- 43:40Speaker 3: the asm R industry? Because technically, what's to stop any
- 43:45Speaker 3: of us from just putting on somebody else's sound.
- 43:50Speaker 2: It's difficult. I think that's why a lot of people
- 43:52Speaker 2: are going homemade. That's where they're using video to show
- 43:56Speaker 2: their hands doing something, you know, to show their mouths
- 44:00Speaker 2: doing something.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I also add a producer tag. Now every one of
- 44:04Speaker 1: my videos, you know, like conds like rappers or oh
- 44:08Speaker 1: you do you writing music? Do every about thirty seconds?
- 44:11Speaker 2: I had every thirty second.
- 44:15Speaker 1: That's what you gotta do.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Has that effected?
- 44:20Speaker 5: So they're different each time.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Because you can't replicate them.
- 44:24Speaker 3: You got a few some rappers change.
- 44:26Speaker 2: It's like a signal scrambler eat Katie on.
- 44:29Speaker 5: This record, It's like a smoke signal may have made
- 44:32Speaker 5: of fairy dust.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Yeah, so yeah, that's how I because nobody can use it.
- 44:37Speaker 5: Well, that's why I think ASMR is turning into a
- 44:39Speaker 5: video medium, because you need the integrity of the artist.
- 44:42Speaker 3: You need the proof. You need the proof.
- 44:44Speaker 5: How dirty garage bands getting these days?
- 44:47Speaker 3: Disgusting, disgusting applications.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Nasty, It's like a Cabo canteena. It's disgusting.
- 44:54Speaker 3: The graphics they're old. I feel like I'm running around
- 44:57Speaker 3: in two thousand fucking eight. Whoa.
- 45:02Speaker 5: It feels like everyone's got a little bad.
- 45:04Speaker 3: Sorry, come on, I'm sorry. I'm so loyal to Adobe
- 45:08Speaker 3: Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition. I will defend the Adobe
- 45:11Speaker 3: Sweet until the day I die. When I think about
- 45:14Speaker 3: Apple and their bogus apps, I get so pissed off
- 45:19Speaker 3: and my my blood pressure just pounds. That's the sound
- 45:22Speaker 3: of do you hear that?
- 45:25Speaker 1: We definitely hear that.
- 45:27Speaker 2: I like that. Actually, are you saying that's bad? That's
- 45:29Speaker 2: a good noise to me.
- 45:30Speaker 3: That's a good noise about this noise because they seem
- 45:37Speaker 3: all the same.
- 45:40Speaker 2: I was so upset by that. You blew the ass
- 45:42Speaker 2: off my stop.
- 45:45Speaker 3: That's a tired man.
- 45:50Speaker 5: Do you ever star stove?
- 45:52Speaker 1: So okay, let's stop. I wass thinking would be nice
- 45:56Speaker 1: maybe for our listeners for a one time only move.
- 46:02Speaker 1: We can combine all of our different skills to make
- 46:05Speaker 1: a special soundscape for our listeners.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Yes, let's you know they there. I have so much
- 46:13Speaker 3: gratitude to them for listening to this whole thing that
- 46:17Speaker 3: I think it would be nice and an act of
- 46:19Speaker 3: goodwill for us to now help them drift off to sleep.
- 46:23Speaker 5: I actually think as a as a beautiful like thank
- 46:26Speaker 5: you for listening. Because here's the thing. You don't need
- 46:29Speaker 5: to hear the story of ASMR artists, right, like it's
- 46:33Speaker 5: fun to hear Eddie Redmain talk about his process in
- 46:37Speaker 5: the theory of everything. You don't need to.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Talk to us, And ultimately we ran out of time
- 46:41Speaker 3: to do that.
- 46:42Speaker 5: So no but because we were listening so much to
- 46:46Speaker 5: the grief party. But I will say that, like I
- 46:50Speaker 5: appreciate that we're finally in the place with ASMR that
- 46:55Speaker 5: we are letting the artists come forward and speak for
- 46:58Speaker 5: their works.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 47:00Speaker 5: I do think we should put the listener to sleep
- 47:02Speaker 5: using all of our talents together.
- 47:03Speaker 3: All right, so let's let's get up on the mic.
- 47:06Speaker 3: I'm gonna press record. Sorry, I added a few little
- 47:10Speaker 3: squeaky sounds the.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Last And how are you doing that while you're talking?
- 47:14Speaker 3: I have ventriloquist training. A lot of stuff I could
- 47:17Speaker 3: have talked about if we had the time, but we
- 47:20Speaker 3: won't get into it.
- 47:21Speaker 2: We really squandered our out. But he had it all.
- 47:28Speaker 2: But he could have done it. He could have done
- 47:31Speaker 2: He could have been the one he could and record.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Hello, it's time to go, naughty boy, chug. Do listen
- 47:51Speaker 1: to that soft ocean noise because we're about to take
- 47:57Speaker 1: your hop in your motorcycle.
- 48:09Speaker 2: What's this?
- 48:10Speaker 1: We're now in a kitchen.
- 48:12Speaker 3: She was best machine. Thanks for hopping on to the
- 48:15Speaker 3: zoom everybody, it is eight oh five. I appreciate you
- 48:19Speaker 3: hopping on before work hours. As you may have heard
- 48:23Speaker 3: by the slack notification. Your jobs are eliminated.
- 48:28Speaker 5: Here's a feather in the room. Here's a feather in
- 48:31Speaker 5: the room.
- 48:31Speaker 1: You just got five feather. Time to go, maybe on
- 48:34Speaker 1: a mountain hike?
- 48:41Speaker 2: What oh fish arm biting today? Huh?
- 48:47Speaker 5: Darryl coming side, Darryl coming side.
- 48:51Speaker 3: I'll come inside when I damn well, I won't.
- 48:52Speaker 5: To Darryl put the gun down.
- 48:54Speaker 3: I don't lie. I'm put I'm keeping the gun here
- 48:56Speaker 3: because it makes me feel sight.
- 48:58Speaker 2: You shouldn't fish anymore here, it's too trashy.
- 49:01Speaker 4: I And now we go to a gun range.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Boo boo.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Boo.

- 49:15Speaker 3: Boo.
- 49:16Speaker 4: You don't have it time to jump all the way
- 49:19Speaker 4: to an ice creaming shop.
- 49:24Speaker 3: School, waffle coat or cup depends?
- 49:29Speaker 2: Is that ice cream? Or is it sorbet?
- 49:32Speaker 3: It's sorbet?

- 50:40Speaker 1: and are your own yard.
- 50:41Speaker 5: Listen the refrigerator wo man, only.
- 50:56Speaker 2: You can't have it, amngo. And what a one.
