King County Targets Fast E-Bikes on Trails | Seattle News
King County Parks is cracking down on speeding e-bikes and e-motos on popular trails like East Lake Sammamish and Burke-Gilman, launching a new enforcement campaign with two deputies on bikes to educate riders and pull over unauthorized motorized vehicles. With a new state law now distinguishing e-bikes (pedal-assisted, max 28 mph) from e-motos (throttle-driven, often over 50 mph), the county is targeting speeds above 30 mph as a safety hazard.
