- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Good morning friends and enemies.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: In today's video as we have been every single Monday, I'll be joined by Mr. Michael O'Hara.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure you're following him on his YouTube channel and Twitter and we will be discussing all the biggest changes in our rankings from the previous week of injury updates.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: legal cases, and most importantly, preseason week three games, which might be least importantly for this week, because not many starters play, but we have some news, got the keen announced situation we will cover, and then a bunch of guys getting back to the practice field from injuries, and not getting back to the practice field from injuries, but we'll give you what we think are the most important updates from each of them.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy, make sure you hit the button that looks like this and subscribe to the channel if you're new.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Michael, usually we'll start this off by just peppering down the list of teams that did not play their starters in the preseason.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: It might be better to just flip that around.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, name the four teams that didn't apply there.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: There's stars in preseason week three.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think this week's going to be kind of jam packed with updates on injuries, some kind of off the field situations for both Keenan Allen and Josh Jacobs.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: We've got a lot of
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: non-preseason takes to get around to right now and I'll give you guys a quick update on guys that have just kind of returned to practice and that we're not necessarily worried about any of the injury updates that have you know sprinkled us over the last few weeks.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: We have Sam Laporta back at practice Luther Burton is back on the practice field.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently Ben Johnson feels like he's at a hundred percent.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: I have really no concerns about him being fully ready to go for a week one
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers had a little bit of a risk air, but he is supposedly supposed to be okay for a week one as well.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm curious, some of these other guys that are like tweeners right now, how you are feeling about the progression of their injury there rehab right now.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: Jeremiah loves seems relatively positive.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: We have a mechabuko with the toe that he's coming back from.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's one where it's like it's very hard to to read between the lines on the coach peak with Todd Bowles, so I don't really have a strong take one or the other.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: other does feel like they've been pretty on the beat of saying like we expect him to be ready for week one.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of people on Twitter that are just like speculating on things that top bulls have said.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't really necessarily have a strong take either way on love or a mecca book is or one of them that you're more concerned about is or one of them that you feel strongly about being ready for week one or possibly missing early on in the season.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, on a book a bull's famously very reliable with his injury updates and coach speak.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm taking everything that he's staying with a grain of salt.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: I will say that also GM Jason Light liked Light either way.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: He said he was also up
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: the mystic generally.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: So that's nice.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: I've generally been operating under the assumption that he is going to be available for week one, whether that holds true.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it'll be a short term absence either way.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: I have though bumped him down in my rankings because that kind of cluster that tier of wider severs.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty flat and jumbled up at least for me in my opinion.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I've moved him down.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: I've got him 40th overall now.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: Jeremiah, love.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a real toss-up as to whether he plays in week one, Lufler said he's progressing well.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: We still know what these high ankle sprains.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: It can be four weeks, six weeks, even.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of just depends.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I think he's a toss-up either way, though.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't gotten him too far down my ranks because I think there's a pretty huge tier break at running back after him and Breeze Hall come off the board, at least in my opinion.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I haven't been able to push him that far down because
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: structurally, if my team's need are running back, I'm still going to be interested in love there.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: I will say, though, Tyler Algear is pretty quickly becoming a zero RB target for me, or just if you punt running back in your draft and you need just some sort of juice at the beginning of the season, if he does miss a game or two Tyler Algear.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: We'll pretty quickly consolidate all of the work in that backfield James Conner still banged up, trade Benson's reverted to the IR.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: There's really just nothing there.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're punting running back in your draft, consider grabbing Tyler Algear for potentially a gamer to a viable starting.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: I would just say, you know, in the off chance that a book it does miss week one, obviously have backup plans.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: The other thing with Jeremiah Love, it does sound like he's progressing well.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: I still, I'm not like sold on the fact he'll be ready for week one.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: This running back room felt crowded, you know, when he got drafted, that that has really like slimmed down quickly.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think, uh, Tray Benson got waved, I believe.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think he's actually on the team.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, and then
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: No one claimed him and he's reverted back to the Cardinals I.R.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: So he won't play for the Cardinals this year.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's really all that matters.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: So Tray Benson's kind of a non-factor and then James Conner is like progressing but he hasn't even like taken the field with the team yet.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I think there's a likelihood that he starts on the I.R.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: So this could really be a two-man backfield for the very large majority of the season.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: And not that like I expected Conner Benson to have like large roles in the backfield, but when you do actually start to revert it down to a legit two-man backfield,
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: with maybe, like, Xon of a night, you know, grabbing five or 10% of the snaps.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you do have a very high floor for a dude like Jeremiah love.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I think I was here as interesting because we're in like a spot where you have multiple starting running backs right now around the league that all could miss early time.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: So if you draft the Jeremiah love, if you draft the Josh Jacobs, if you draft an Ash and Gentie, like, there are a handful of backs at the end of your draft that you can kind of supplement with in mix and match.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, always necessarily like, you don't have to grab Tyler
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: go for a Mike Washington.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: You can go for a march on Lloyd, and it's almost like there a tear where it's like just get the guy who probably drops the furthest in your draft, because it's possible that all those guys miss week one or week two, it's possible they don't, but you have all these like clear handcuff backups that if those guys miss time, you have like, you know, rock solid RV2 production for that little like.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: string of games there.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about Ty Johnson a few weeks ago or last week, as it relates to James Cook getting more of a pass-catching role, there's not a huge update for Ty Johnson from what I found he has started to run on the field, which is like fine, it's obviously in the right direction, but because we don't really know what the injury is, I don't know that.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: running in a straight line is necessarily a good measure because if it's like a knee injury, we're more concerned with whether or not he can cut in his agility.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: If it's like a hamstring or a calf, then it's good to see him running because you know, that's more like a straight line thing.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: So Ty Johnson does seem like he's like moving in the right direction, but it doesn't seem like there's a ton of fast momentum with it.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: So another one to keep an eye on.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then we have Trevor ETN who just heard his ankle over the weekend.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's getting scans apparently like today or tomorrow, so we'll have a little bit more word.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: ETN's not going to be a fantasy fact.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, but he's a little bit in that like liquid Allen mold where like it's a two man race in the backfield, but like you have it annoying third guy there and ETN would play.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think in the very obvious passing down situations where if he's out, I think that does make Jonathan Brooks and or Chuba Hubbard a little bit more intriguing, you know, raising their snap counts a bit.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know the severity of it could be a low ankle sprain, but again, getting scans on there, could mean I our state could mean just like a more, you know, condensed backfield there.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: I will say on Johnson, well, we'll get some good intel today.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: You guys will know by the time this video is out.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's making the active roster, but he could be placed on IR, just depending on the severity.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: So they can open up another roster spot for someone else.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll get info on that today.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: If he is missing four weeks, that is pretty bullish for James Cook's early season outlook.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: a couple of the other minor injuries to get to hear Alec Pierce returns to practice this week.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: The goal has remained week one.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not really moving on that news about you.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: I had thought that it was possible that he was going to miss time, but they have continued to say that they hope to get him on the field for the start of the regular season.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: You're moving on that at all.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, no, this is kind of what I expected to do.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's a lot of speculation from Twitter, but it felt like the people inside Andy have been like very steadfast on we expect him to be back for week one.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of the reporting out of there from like Shefter, etc.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: The guys who don't just like say things for the sake of saying things felt like they were kind of buying into what the Colts were saying.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I haven't moved in much.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: I still think there's like very much going to be a ramp up period.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, when you miss this much time and you're not out there
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: doing team drills and playing in the preseason game and doing all that joint practice stuff like your conditioning is just not going to be at NFL level.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: So that concerns me a little bit for the start of the season.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think like if you were able to grab them in the eighth ninth round of your draft, you probably got pretty good value there.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: And you're someone who over the second half of the year is going to be fine for you.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: So no movement as it relates to Alec Pierce.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: There's a couple other minor things that we wanted to talk about.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: One really minor one is that
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: In their backfield, and I thought it was interesting because there's been a lot of opinions or not necessarily reports, but some beat reporters on Tampa Bay were speculating that Josh Williams pushed Sean Tucker enough to the point where they might actually cut Sean Tucker and again, Tucker, not a fantasy guy.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: However, a strong piece of the bucky Irving narrative was against him in the fact that Sean Tucker would take a lot of the goal-line work.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Williams getting cut pretty much secures Sean Tucker's role in the bucks backfield.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: So do I think he's going to take 100% of the backfield touches or a goal line touches.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely not.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think Bucky will probably split that with him, but it is worth noting because I think if Sean Tucker.com, I think I actually would have moved Bucky Irving up in my rankings.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he takes a higher share of the goal line role there.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing actually to really speculate on because Josh Williams is out of the picture.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then lastly, we had two other running back injuries.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: We had Keaton Mitchell and we had Isaiah Pacheco.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: Both of them sound a little bit more pessimistic.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Keaton Mitchell seems to have suffered a setback.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know the actual severity of it.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know how long he's going to be out for, but it does open up past catching work for Omar and Hampton.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: And does make it feel like he could have like a serious bell-cow roll to start the season.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's no really knowing how plugged in these guys are, but there were some beats in Los Angeles speculating that it might be a short-term IR for Keaton Mitchell, so that is definitely a significant one to keep an eye on.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: And then on Pacheco, you see, he's been dealing with a knee injury basically all throughout August, then within the last week or so, it comes out that he's also dealing with some back issue.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: Dan Campbell said just within the last 24 hours that they're comfortable
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: as there are B2, he has been balling out in preseason.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: I still don't buy that.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you can reasonably walk into a season as someone who's a Super Bowl hopeful with Jacob sailors as your RB2 is just not something that is sharper, responsible.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: They worked out cream hunt the other day.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: But I just generally speaking, I think this is a team to look out for as someone who could sign or make a move to add a depth piece to the running back room.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: And if it's someone who's even mildly interesting, they immediately become draftable because Jacob sailors not doing it for me and a banged-up version of Isaiah Pacheco, especially given what we've seen over the last two years, also not moving the needle for me.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: So if it's really anyone with a pulse, this guy immediately
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I had no idea anything about Jacob Salars.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: He is a 195 pound undrafted player from the 2023 draft class, ran a 4714 yard dash.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: So you're small and you're insanely slow for an NFL running back.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: So no chance he's actually there are be two going into the year.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think that does open up, you know, a possible move for like a title and Tracy type, or one of the Arizona got maybe like a James Conner type, and then there was a report that actually came out a little while ago, Jalen Wright might be moved from Miami.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now that Jark was Hunter got traded there, I think Jalen Wright could be pretty interesting in Detroit.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: He kind of fits that like explosive mold of running back to take it half there.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not like the biggest right thing that I think he's
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: like way to just like boomer bus and just a little bit relying on his athleticism.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think that works though when you're behind a strong offensive line, like Detroit should relatively be.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that could be one to look out for, but yeah, there could be moves regardless of who has added to that backfield.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: Won't change anyway.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: I look at humoric images as a clear one-on-one.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: No, no chance at all.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: Right, definitely fits the threshold of has a pulse.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, would definitely be interested in him.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: Should he make them move there?
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that wraps it up for the injuries.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, anything else you want to hit on?
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Trayvian, Trayvian Henderson has an ankle.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing really to write home about.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: They seem like he's me good to go for weak ones.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's super minor, but one to note nonetheless.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I think he's good to go.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: We can we can talk a lot here for filming this a little bit before noon Sunday, August 30th.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: So with Keenan Allen, I mean, doesn't feel great.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's like right after their first preseason game, he gets hit with a DUI.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it is a misdemeanor DUI.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: is I understand it because there's no accident, there's no injury or anything like that.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the more notable tweets I came across this morning was one of the more respectable beer portals for Indy.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to tweet it at him and ask them like, this means he's getting cut.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: And he basically was like emphatically saying that that was way too presumptuous of an assumption to assume that he's going to get cut.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: his contract is like three and a half million dollars and the majority of it is guaranteed.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I think if they think he's still going to be able to help them out in any capacity, it would make sense to keep him on the team there.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a very legitimate chance he gets suspended though.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like this seems like it's a concrete thing that happened.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know how you really get out of it.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: I would say my biggest concern at this point is like, Kenan's 34 years old, I think it's fair to ask.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: And we don't know the details of the DUI.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like it could have, who knows what it is, rather, who are we to judge here?
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's felt like we do know I saw this morning.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: He was parked in a no parking zone.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: The police came up to his car to figure out what the deal was.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: They suspected he was intoxicated and then tested him.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know that.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, I was going to say like, I'm almost more worried about like where's Keenan Allen at mentally.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's like 34 years old.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: He joins this team and he's getting a DUI after their first preseason game.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's fair to say like,
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: how much of this does he really care about, you know, if he's going out and doing shit like this after the first preseason game, you would think like, oh, I want to lock in, make sure I'm like ready for whatever's next to training camp, et cetera.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: So a little bit like a big brain like, you know, trying to be a ball, no we're take there, but just in real life, it's not great, but I also think there's a real chance he's still on the team and around for the majority of the season.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: I was talking about it this morning and we were like, it's a preseason week three they lose and this guy goes out and he gets a DUI right afterwards.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: Not like great.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: It was like C's one C's one fucking past from Anthony Richardson.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's all he got.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I will say though, uh, the precedent from the NFL on DUIs has been a three game suspension.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Again, really have no idea how this is going to play out because what the season's like nine days away.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: So who knows how the legal process plays out for this, whether or not he's actually
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: taken to trial for anything like this.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's in the very, very early stages.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: So we have no idea what it's going to look like.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: But it is worthwhile to note that it's typically been three games for DUI.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: The most memorable and notable one in recent years was Jordan Addison, who opened the season while was a year or two ago on a three game suspension because of DUI.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: So just be flexible here, be flexible.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: We have no idea what's going to happen.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: that's probably what I would project it for.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: If I was, you know, not that you can like do much about this, there probably weren't a lot of people drafting Keenan Allen, but I would project, you know, for three games.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: I would assume that, hey, if I've Josh Downs, if I've Tyler Warren, they're probably going to be without Keenan Allen for a handful of games here, but we don't know, obviously we'll get more updates as the week goes on.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's all the the non-sensical off-the-field injury stuff that we need to cover and we can move into the good stuff.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we've got once again, not a lot, not that many teams playing their starters this week, a couple of notable rookies, people, one people are very, very interested in.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: And another flyer, sleeper option, they do hit the field for the first time as they're recovering from injuries.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: First and foremost, McCuy Lemon, the starters all rest for the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: Lemon's out there because he's been dealing with a hamstring injury.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: throughout training camp, and he just returned to practice.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: This was his first opportunity to get some legitimate in-game action.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: So he plays alongside the backups.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: All the headlines, all of the aggregator accounts.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's all the same stuff.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: He has three catches for three yards.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: He has a drop that leads to an interception.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of just box score watching, and whatnot.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: It was pretty encouraging, and honestly,
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: People are going to see those highlights, see those numbers, and further push him down the board.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to take it, and I'm going to run with it and be thrilled.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: Because Mackay Lemon was already one of my favorite mid-round targets.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: But Dwayne McFarlane's a fantasy life pulled a lot of the interesting usage nuggets for Mackay Lemon in his opening pre-season game, 4 drives 81% of the snaps, 100% of the routes, 39% of the targets, and 41% of his routes come out of this slot.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: The one takeaway that I had, it was encouraging that they got him lining up on the outside because the vast majority of his routes came out of the slot during his time in college.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: We know what that slot only designation can do for your route rate.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen it with Jaden Reed.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen it with Josh Downs.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I had some concern that he would be the kind of slot only archetype coming into the NFL.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: That has largely been dispelled over the course of the offseason.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: full-blown confirmation of it when he plays in this preseason game.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't alongside the starters, so you can't take this as absolute gospel absolute truth, but I do think it was encouraging nonetheless.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then generally speaking, just McCy Lemman's been one of my favorite targets.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: This is arguably the best wide receiver talent in this draft class.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's going past pick a hundred on most redraft platforms.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_01]: And it's an offense that I want to make that sound.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: This guy is such a
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: a fantasy-friendly profile is ability to command volume at a high level doing it in the short areas of the field over the middle while also winning deep and being a really, really strong player in contested situations.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: This is exactly what I was looking for and if people who are just looking at the highlights looking at the box score are going to push him further down the board because of it, I'm going to continue to buy this guy at a cheaper price.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the performance was a zero burger for me.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care how we did on the field.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: I liked that they were targeting a lot and they were using them in the variety of ways.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: I saw a trouble believing that they're going to use them on the outside and any like real capacity over 30% of his routes or whatever.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be weeks.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be Smith and I think LeMon will play a lot and three wide receiver sets.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: And probably mix in there with Wix when they go into two wide receiver sets.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: But it's clear that they want to use him in a ton of different ways, whether it's screens, whether it's over the middle,
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: The overall takeaway is like good to see him play a ton of snaps in the preseason game at full speed and not, you know, pull his hamstring and we can just assume that he's going into the year at a hundred percent.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, the performance shouldn't move him up or down your rankings.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: I currently have him think like mid 90s.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say so before the the hundred pick mark, but yeah, I do that for sure.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: Again, just, you know, want to bet on the first round talent and and see what comes of it.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, I've got him 100 flat and willing to ignore that to just get him onto my teams.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: The other rookie receiver that I was alluding to, Chris Bell, pretty insane.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: He had ACL surgery.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: He was a prospect out of Louisville.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: Some thought he was a first round caliber talent, second round caliber talent.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: He tears his ACL and has surgery in December.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: So not even what?
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: What is that eight months?
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: So he is back on the field for the Miami Dolphins.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: He was a third round pick.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people were fired up about this guy just coming out of the draft like exclusionary of the injury outside of that.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: Huge physical, yak threat, six to 200 pounds.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: He has real juice after the catch with the ball in his hands.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: He can just pummel defensive backs and he shows some juice in the preseason game as well.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: He catches a nice in-breaker for like 18 yards.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: But generally people are willing to just spray darts at this Miami Dolphins receiver room.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know how valuable of a patting attack it's going to be.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: But someone is going to emerge most likely someone is going to emerge and pay off in the very final rounds of drafts.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_01]: Are you moving him up your rankings?
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: Is he a priorities sleeper target for you these days?
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I like Chris Bell a lot in our in our draft that we just did in our office.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: I had the 103 pick and we were in like the 14th round I want to say so it was it got like the 14 10 and then Casey works for snap x4 it's like two picks after me and he's a moron so I went into the draft pick room I grabbed Chris Bell's sticker and I went up there and I was like if Casey you could tell me where this guy went to college I'll forfeit this pick and I told and I said Chris Bell
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: and he snapped called it and knew where he went to college because he just saw a tweet about Chris Bell like five minutes before that.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I had to forfeit it in case he ended up taking Chris Bell on the turn and that was devastating.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: There was like zero upside for me to do that.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why I would actually one do it and then two also stick to my word on that because I'm kind of pissed off that I didn't get Chris Bell because literally like the day after that happened.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: It was all Chris Bell high for the next like
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: four days across the timeline.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think he's one of the more fun sleepers to pick on.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, there's a lot of people that thought he was, you know, a borderline first early second round talent, the injury kind of knocked him down a bit.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: They also traded two to at, well, away to the Rams and not like a huge, like target thing.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: But it does say, like, okay, we've got confidence in some of these younger guys and they're going to play a little bit more than maybe we expected early on.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think you also, it's smart to leave room for unknown offenses to just be a little bit better than we thought they would be, right?
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: In the same way that we see it,
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: We see it every year.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: We see teams be really bad, like the Patriots or, you know, Jayden Daniels and Washington a couple of years ago.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: You just see teams perform way better than most people expect it.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: And because you don't have to pay premium prices for a dude like Chris Bell or Caleb Douglas, you know, one of them likely ends up seeing a pretty high target chair, whether it converts into a lot of yardage and, you know, touchdowns or anything like that, who knows?
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Chris Bell's definitely a dude.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_00]: I would be targeting and not
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: You got, you got to do it for the content, man.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: You got it for the content.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't even good content, not for me, at least.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say I have a little bit of trouble with Bell and just the passing attack in general.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's, he's in my rankings now, though.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's in my rankings.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: I did not have him in my top 180 190.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: He is cracked it and he's ahead of like the Calvin Ridley's and the Jerry Judy's of the world.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: So moving along here, I did get
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: Some interesting notes on Kyle Pitz and Drake London, the Falcons are the only two, one of the only teams to play their starters, get some run for both London and Pitz.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: This is London's first significant action in the preseason.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: Pitz had seen some earlier, but both of them, there were some notable things.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: Kyle Pitz first and foremost,
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: everyone saw on Twitter the 37 yard screen people were going bananas saying like this guy is so slow he's lost to step just like losing their mind that this 250 pound tight end doesn't house call a screen from the 50 yard line.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it was like the most normal play ever.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like understand everyone needs such a fucking opinion on it.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's because like seven players that most people know were playing and preseason games this weekend and they've got to say something about one of the guys that they know.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: Still, it was, I think, a good moment to it served as a reminder as to how heavily Kevin Stephansky uses his tight ends.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: People who are deep in the weeds in fantasy, probably have picked up on this trend over the last couple of years.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're kind of just watching the games casually, you might not realize he largely builds his offense, his passing attack around his tight ends.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: Over the last five years, they've ranked top five in tight end target share.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: So just percentage of the teams targets that go to tight ends.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: They've ranked top five in tight end target share.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: Four of the last five years.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: The one year that they did not, they ranked ninth.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: So pretty, pretty lofty numbers year in and year out for Kevin's to fancy offences.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then there has been a steady number of design targets, which is what we saw for Kyle Pizz on that screen, to tight ends in Kevin's to fancy offences.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: Back in 2023, David and Joku saw 19 design targets in a single season, which is pretty bonkers numbers for a tight end, who isn't one of those like cream of the crop upper echelon elite tight ends.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't even a year where the Browns were just a disaster in the wide receiver.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: And that year, I'm already Cooper had 1,200 yards.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of the seasons that we were talking about the last five seasons, they've had some productive wide receivers on the roster.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: Cooper has had productive years in what was a 23 and 22, like 1100 1200 yards.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: 2024 Jerry Judy was on a tear down the stretch having a career year.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: So he's doing all this with competent wide receiver plan on the roster last year's a different story.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: So that was noteworthy, in my opinion, just serving as a reminder of how big Kevin Stefansky is on his tight ends.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then on Drake London, there was some usage notes that I'm not really adjusting my rankings because of, but I'm officially going to be monitoring it, come the regular season.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's a very, very small sample.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: London gets eight snaps.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: with the starters in that preseason game, he gets zero out of the slot.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: Every single one of his snaps comes on the outside.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: We were talking about it last week in reference to Teteroma McMillan, just how big the move to more diverse usage getting him in the slot for how big it's been for Drake London over the last couple of years.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's been between 30 to 40 percent of his routes had been coming out of the slot in the last two years under Zach Robinson.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_01]: That is something that I am definitely going to be keeping an eye on in the early stages of the season.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to fully panic on eight snaps, so I'm not adjusting my rankings, but it is pretty significant if we see him basically stripped of the slot usage that has helped propel him to a massive breakout in the last two years.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I will say as like an avid Kyle Pitz hater, and I would never go on record and tell people to draft him, the usage was encouraging.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: However, I think it's like really important to understand the quarterback competition in situation right now.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: To me going into the summer, it felt like it was to his job by a wide margin.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: It was his to lose and pennies not playing like it was
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: But apparently, he's been so bad.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: And even when you watch the pre- he's unable to throw the ball downfield.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like he cannot throw the ball more than like four or five yards, past the line of skirmish.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: And Pinnix has returned to 11 on 11's.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't played at all this pre-season.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: So I would be shocked if he was named the week one starter, but the fact that they haven't named to it yet, just I think speaks to the larger picture of like, they're lack of belief in him.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're gonna see panics on the field like very, very quickly.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's an issue for the, I'm very concerned about the passing game overall.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm concerned about Greg London.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm concerned for Kyle Pitts, if Michael Panics gets on the field, because he's way more of like a shot taker.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's way more of a downfield guy.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't check down like to us.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: So if two is on the field, that's good for Kyle Pitts, obviously.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's going to be on the field for very long, and I just, I don't know.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: This offense freaks me out a lot.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: I worry that only one guy is really going to be able to do anything in the passing game, and it's just going to be specifically dependent on who is at quarterback.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_00]: To as like a check down guy.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: accurate around line of scrimmage.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: Penix is kind of wildly inaccurate on a down-to-down basis, but has much more of a spark in his arm, obviously, which is good for Drake London, but also, like, if you're taking Drake in the second round, you still want Drake London to be catching seven eight passes per game to really like get that PPR juice going for you.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, and like you said, if he's going to be a pure boundary X receiver, which, you know, from the snap counts right now, that was kind of a worry for Kevin from Kevin's defense.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's offense, like, yeah, I don't know.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of just weird moving parts that I'm like, all right, you know, if you grab B-John cool, otherwise I'm, I'm kind of staying away from the Atlanta passing game altogether, I think.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: What I was just going to add is there is a lot of uncertainty about how this passing game is going to play out.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: I will pull a couple of numbers on Panics because the Ian Rapp for it, it's very, very funny.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: He basically said that it's impossible to start this guy.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he, to a target by LoL, it's the quarterback battle to no one.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's the first one to lose the quarterback battle to training camp practice.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty insane how bad it is, but just on Panics because it seems like this is where we're going.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: You noted the big arm gunslinger that checks out with the numbers last season among 32 quarterbacks with at least 250 pass attempts.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: He ranked 9th highest in average depth of target and 30 second in check down rate.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: That does cause some concern potentially for B. John.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that is valid though.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's he still be on his still average 5.5 targets per game in games with Michael Penex over the last couple years and then Jared Smola had a nice note on Drake London's performance with Michael Penex over the last two seasons in games with Penex 11.2 targets per game 35% target share and over 20 PPR points per game so it's hard to kind of blend what Penex does stylistically with who we think
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: Kevin Stefansky is as an offensive architect.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to kind of parse through both of those things in your head, but I largely agree with you just thinking through what the quality of the offense is going to look like, what the status of the quarterback play kind of is.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to see both of these guys just smashing both pits and London, and then you factor in what B. John Robinson does as a receiver.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: So it's tough to sort through and not moving on London, but if they are flowing some design targets through Kyle Pitts, that's pretty exciting for his game the game week to week floor.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: It will be one that the first game, the first couple of weeks reacting to how this offense looks, I think is going to be super important.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think we'll get to out there probably for a couple of games.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'll spike pitch his numbers, B John's numbers, and then Panic will get on the field, and then all hell will break loose.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then I think there's just going to be so little inconsistency outside of B John, who savants he's just going to feed him until he can't eat anything anymore.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's brutal.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's brutal to try and sore through.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: But we'll leave it at that for our Falcons talk.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: One of the other teams that did get starters on the field is the last Vegas Raiders.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the Ashden Gentilist Raiders.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: One quick note, it does seem unsurprisingly that Kurt Cousins is going to be named the starter here in the next couple of days.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: Again, no shock there.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: But there were some rumbling, some commentary.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: on how Brock Bowers was deployed.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: Again, a very, very small sample.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: He plays nine snaps, runs five routes.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: But on those nine snaps, he's lined up on the outside for five of them in the slot for two of them and in line for two of them.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of out of line from what we've seen from him career standpoint over the course of his career.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: about 50% of his snaps from have come out of the slot, 20% have come out wide and 30% have come in line.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I've seen some people saying that that's not the best kind of usage, because if he's on the outside, he's lining up again, legitimate starting corners instead of getting that.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: freebie matchup against a linebacker, a safety or a slot corner.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: So that's something once again that much like London.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not moving on right now, but it's one that I will want to keep an eye on because just anecdotally thinking through things.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: I would much rather see Brock Bowers the tight end who I'm spending a second round pick on, getting awesome matchups out of the slot as opposed to having to run real wide receiver routes and beat out guys and coverage who are actually designed and talented enough to cover high end route runners and receivers.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully that is something that changes come the regular season.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: Is that anything that peaks your interest or anything you're moving on?
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm so uninterested in the Brock Bower's like snap snap debate in the free seat.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_00]: People did this last year.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: I remember two.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about six of the nine snaps.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like, bro, he was like a top 10 pick.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's playing every down.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be their top receiver.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_00]: Um, yeah, I'd rather than play inside, but you got to remember two.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like, sure he's the tight end, but he's also,
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you were to treat him as a wider receiver, he's a massive human being.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he's way bigger than the typical wider receiver too.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: So you can man up on cornerbacks.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: I trust Clint Kubiak and his story enough to like utilize rock powers in the right way.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_00]: I do think he might be forced to go outside a little bit just because they're so sad about receiver.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and like, there's not much else you can do.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just...
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: Moom is more worried that Bowers is going to see so much coverage from the defense than I am like, where he's actually, you know, being aligned in the offense.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: So that, yeah, that stuff doesn't necessarily move me anywhere.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: I know like Tray Tucker is their wide receiver one on paper right now.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's kind of sitting when the starters are sitting and everybody else is kind of running routes behind him at this point.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: Tucker's a little bit interesting to me.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_00]: We saw him have a blow up like literally a blow up game last
- 33:03[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think if they can put together like a comparable offense, he could be a little bit interesting as a as a late round throw that's probably going to run 95% of the routes, which is around the rate that he did last year, and I would assume or hope that they're going to get better quarterback play, better offensive line play allowed.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm to kind of develop plays deep.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I think Tucker could be a little bit interesting behind bars if you're going to take shots at someone in the offense.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, I'm not taking anyone on the raiders outside of Washington, Gentie and Bowers.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: I get, I get the idea behind a talker, though.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: I just have a tough time seeing the consistent level of production that's needed to get him in your line up often.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, on Bowers, I didn't touch my ranks whatsoever.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: It was just an interesting note.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: And if we
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: God forbid, we see Brock Bowers kind of struggling to get things going early in the year.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: I will be checking in on where he's been running his routes from and what his alignment has looked like.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: So nothing, nothing to ring.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: You let me know when you do that.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'll shoot you attacks.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'll shoot you attacks when we get that sorted out.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: If Brock Bowers is scoring 11 points per game for the first three weeks.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: But to close things out on the just notable player or Deptchart updates, trio of priority handcuff, just RB2 updates, Kaling Black, once again confirmed to be in the front seat for the RB2 job behind Christian McCaffrey.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: He plays the entirety of the first three drives, ahead of Jordan James.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: Basically all the beats in San Francisco are saying he is the RB2.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: Some of them even saying that he is well ahead
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: Emmett Johnson, once again, I believe we get further confirmation that he is the handcuffed to own there.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: He plays every single snap of the opening drive, then rotates with a Marri de Mercado on the second and third drive, and he looked awesome.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Emmett Johnson had a 12 yard carry, a 14 yard screen on consecutive plays, then adds another 11 yard carry.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: So he looks good, which is in something I'm
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: to leaning into too much when I'm evaluating a player, but I do think it's important that he's been playing well in regard to where he stands on the depth chart.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's something that coaches undoubtedly love to see and will help him further solidify in the RB2 job.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then Seth McGowan for the Indianapolis Colts 7th round rookie.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's all but locked in to the RB2 job as long as they don't bring in someone else.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: He plays ahead of DJ Giddens in this game and all the buzz all off season has been the RB2.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: Personally, I have Caitlyn Black and Emmett Johnson ranked in the 150s as some of the hand cuff options that I really want to get on my team just because I'm very confident and then both being a part of quality offenses.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: Any of one from that trio, a McGowan Black Emmett Johnson that you are really bullish on, you're really trying to grab in the late rounds or am I digging too deep into the weeds here?
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: Anything any thoughts there?
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: No, I mean, bullish would be would probably be a little bit of an overstatement for me, but black would be the one that I'm like interested in just because of the, the player that's, you know, in front of him with Christian McCaffrey, just as well as the offensive prowess, like you know, if CMAC were to go down blacks pretty much in every week.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_00]: RB2 plugin for you where it's a little bit difficult to say for sure like behind Jonathan Taylor.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he'll probably get rumble like do I feel super confident that he's a workhorse there?
- 36:19[SPEAKER_00]: Is he getting the 20 touches that Jonathan Taylor would maybe, but less confident than black is.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: I just think we've seen Shanna Hando this before where it doesn't actually matter what running back is on the field.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to kind of eat there.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_00]: You have one of the guys who's dealt with as many injuries as any player over the last decade in front of them.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 36:34[SPEAKER_00]: Black intrigues me, the other two are fine if you want to try, you know, swing for Hank of guys, but black would be the only one that would be on my draft board, I think.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying very hard to make the M in Johnson thing work.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_00]: Trying very hard.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think it's working.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_00]: Not on me.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm out.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's good.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's good.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: All right, anything else that stood out to you?
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's it for me.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: No, we could hit on the booty trade.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: We could.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, booty traded to Houston.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I touched on this a little bit and one of my videos.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think it was like a matter of them seeing him in person.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_00]: They had a couple games where they played against each other.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I saw your note on that.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he caught a couple.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: like big touchdowns and I can't remember exactly what other examples of this happening but I remember I've looked this up before when players or coaches have traded for guys and it always goes back to like the guys thinks but he had like a couple good games right in front of that coach so they go and get that guy.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: I like Boote like I hope it pushes Nico Collins more into the slot.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: but I can't say confidently that that's for sure going to happen because Nico's like just not using the slot and it's not like to have a new offensive coordinator there.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_00]: I like Boote, I would I be surprised if you ended up being like someone that people pick up in fantasy this year.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: Not really kind of annoying for Jalen Noel.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like now maybe doesn't actually increase his snaps much on the outside at all.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's just kind of a pure slot receiver there.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_00]: So don't know that it moved much for me in any real fast it whether it was like Nico or Boote or Jalen
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: the narrative of teens trading for guys who bully them.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's so real.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: I can't think of the examples either, but you're entirely right.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's so true.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, booty, he's a, he's an awesome field stretcher.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's had a ridiculously high date eight out like into the teens, each of the last two years.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: He was actually tied for the league lead on touchdowns of where the target was at least 20 yards
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: The old last season he was tied with T-Higgins, and I can't remember the other one, but really, really strong deep threat.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that this is going to be someone who got people are wanting to pick up on the waiver wire for all the wrong reasons, because he's just going to have one of those long touchdowns, and he's going to draw like another three targets in that game.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to have like,
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: Three catches for 90 yards in a score and people are going to be wanting to grab him because they just see the production.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's anyone who's ever going to be someone that's worth rostering in your typical manager league.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: But I do, it does make me more optimistic about what they're going to be able to do with Nico Collins because he is a strong field stretcher type of guy.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's never going to be a high volume guy.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: Is Kishan booty.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: But with him being able to command real attention as a downfield threat,
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: It does make me more optimistic that they're going to be able to work, keen and at, not keen and out.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: Nico Collins, in the intermediate portions of the field, again, I'm working over the middle, while Keshon Booty does that vertical stuff.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: That just taking the defenses is a tension in making them respect the deep third of the field.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: So that is one like little note, kind of how I was thinking through it.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not drafting Keshon Booty.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't bump Nico Collins because I already had them a couple picks ahead of ADP.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: So, I do think that this does help this team from an actual, like, schematic perspective and how the offense sets up to truly threaten defenses, not really moving the needle on fantasy though.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think that was about it in terms of the relevant news and happenings though.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's, um, kind of all I can think of.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think the next time we see football on our TVs, it's going to be regular season Wednesday night, Thursday night, Sunday.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: So we've got a week and a half before actual football kicks off, probably a lot of drafts going on, you know, within the next week or so.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_00]: But otherwise, yeah, news and news will just kind of be like updating from injuries.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_00]: We'll hop on next week again for a video.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not exactly sure what topic we're going to do.
