- 0:07My wallet is sobbing. Welcome to episode 113 of the
- 0:37Allegiance Podcast. And this week we're going to
- 0:40have some fun. We're going to look at what we
- 0:43have instead of what we are always looking forward to
- 0:47predicting. You know, why not have a look at
- 0:50the figures that we actually have in our collection or that
- 0:52we could actually have, you know, might have, you know,
- 0:55we're not all completed here. So, you know, we might have all
- 0:58of the figures that we talk about where we're going to talk
- 1:01about favorite characters in midtos and we've kind of split
- 1:04them up into different categories.
- 1:07Simple enough as like barbarian, dwarf, night orc, this kind of
- 1:11things and female magic user. We have a wild card in there, an
- 1:16assassin in there. You see them, a bunch of them.
- 1:19If you're watching this on YouTube or if you see the the
- 1:21little thumbnail on the podcast player, you'd see all the
- 1:24different categories listed there on the thumbnails.
- 1:27So that's what we're going to talk about and it's going to be
- 1:30a bit of fun and nice to kind of remind ourselves of the figures
- 1:35that are in our collections or could be in our collections.
- 1:38We're not waiting for them to to ship from previous pre-orders.
- 1:43Most of them anyway. I don't know about you guys,
- 1:46man. Did you have you chose chosen a
- 1:47few that are are currently on the way to us, shall we say or?
- 1:52No, I've no, I don't want to spoil what I'll be saying later.
- 1:59So no, I've gone very much for what I've got in hand already.
- 2:04Cool. And you're rich.
- 2:06I tried to do that but there was 1 figure that we don't have in
- 2:09hand yet that's I had to put in because I love the figure.
- 2:11Yeah. So I tried to minimise it as
- 2:13well, but there was one or two that I maybe one that I that.
- 2:18Side of things because they do things get.
- 2:22Yeah, things get tricky. This, this, I'll be honest as
- 2:25well, this first category I won't have anything to say
- 2:27because it's barbarian, so just skip past me.
- 2:32No, but in all seriousness, I've got a little sheet of bullets on
- 2:35for each category. You know, it's one at the top
- 2:37there, Barbarian, only two bullets.
- 2:39Everybody else has got more bullets.
- 2:41Wow. Well, more than I've done.
- 2:43That's not an Excel sheet though.
- 2:44I'm not. It's not.
- 2:46It's a Word document. I thought I'd mix it up this
- 2:47week and go crazy. Wow.
- 2:49Did you see the thing I post in our discord?
- 2:52You did? Probably Excel times.
- 2:53Or whatever it was. Excel World Championship Top 12.
- 2:56I was, I don't know why you weren't there, you know?
- 2:58Now these guys seem to be like mega programmers though, you
- 3:02know they're not. Just I love Excel and I'm I
- 3:05yeah, you know, I'd say I'm pretty good at Excel, but not
- 3:08that sort of level. Many shows imagination so.
- 3:11Yeah, it's, you know, he could does various different levels
- 3:14probably eh, you can be very good at it for your particular
- 3:18job. But I think there is people that
- 3:19work in you know IT programming that use it for organizing data
- 3:25that in ways that we wouldn't be able to comprehend.
- 3:28I think to think that certainly, but you've.
- 3:31Got a couple of those in the offices, like somebody goes I
- 3:34need to speak to an exile expert.
- 3:35And you get like Ed just sits over there, go speak to head.
- 3:38He's your man. He can speak in rectangles,
- 3:45that's it. And and Mal just has to fix
- 3:48Excel crashing all the time. I don't deal with Microsoft
- 3:51programs, we deal with deal with our own internal applications.
- 3:55So what else deals with the Microsoft issues?
- 3:58I see, I see. I love it.
- 4:00I love it. Sort of.
- 4:03We do deal with some Microsoft issues because it's Microsoft
- 4:06and there's issues. And you and I have had to
- 4:10deliver a very quick delivery from the horseman.
- 4:12Look at that. Look at that beauty there,
- 4:16Ganesha. I've got mine a little fat dude.
- 4:1902 up look at that. That was that was seamless
- 4:21mouth. I'd never have known you did
- 4:23anything there. I was.
- 4:27There, screaming ball. We got.
- 4:32Yeah, we both have the the pie. There was a name for it last
- 4:35week. Hold on.
- 4:37I'll go. Back to individual suites,
- 4:40they're just piled up, so it's a bit like Ferrera Roche.
- 4:44Modaka, There you go. Modaka.
- 4:46That's the dessert in the bowl. So very cool.
- 4:49How is it in hand then? Now, what's your impression?
- 4:52It's really, really impressive. It feels like it's another one
- 4:57of those figures that is a little bit of a step up again,
- 5:01doesn't it? In terms of quality, soft goods,
- 5:06paint apps, just everything about it.
- 5:10I did have a few issues getting him to stand upright initially,
- 5:13but once I got him waited just right, he he's not a problem
- 5:17now. I'll say is it probably falls
- 5:18over during the show, but yeah. But yeah, we had that.
- 5:23Problem. But maybe it's a bit warmer in
- 5:25in the UK, it's actually. Cold part of what it is.
- 5:28It's actually cold in my room here in the basement because
- 5:32although it's warmer outside, we've switched off the heating.
- 5:36So the. Basement gets cooler.
- 5:38Right. But I also tend to find that
- 5:40it's useful to be able to manipulate the ankle joints a
- 5:44bit first so that they don't because I think sometimes they
- 5:47can get stuck forward a little bit and you know what I mean?
- 5:51So to be leaning forward a little bit and.
- 5:54Yeah, that. Seemed to be what helped a bit
- 5:57as well and got him yeah Lent just right and yeah, really.
- 6:02Yeah, the the ankles are as we saw from maybe the 1st 2.0
- 6:06figures we got, the ankles are very important to the whole
- 6:10figure itself. How we How?
- 6:13Do you think of him, John? What?
- 6:14Yeah, I think he's great. Yeah, very easy to handle stuff
- 6:17like, you know, changing the the trunk that was really easy.
- 6:20Doesn't, didn't need heat. The ears are fantastic.
- 6:25I did a little, not a not a just a little quick photograph with
- 6:30the the rat on the ear that actually stays there as well.
- 6:36I mean, OK, if you were to move it around too much, you'll fall
- 6:38off, but you could just put a tiny little bit of tack there
- 6:41and with balance on the ear, absolutely no problem.
- 6:45So I think I might eventually when he's on a shelf with the
- 6:49rest of them, I'll put him up like that.
- 6:53So with the little rat think that's the cooler because it's
- 6:56his rat companion. So it's not a it's not like he's
- 6:59scared of the of the little rat like and maybe an elephant is
- 7:04traditionally thought you. Want to see if you can get one
- 7:06of the back arms coming over and just picking the rat up?
- 7:09I mean, like, dangling, yeah. Oh yeah, that might test the
- 7:14articulation. But yeah, that's that's good.
- 7:16And yours, Rich, is a is a. While we're recording this
- 7:20likely, so it's FedEx, they give you a, they, they turn up like
- 7:26either 7:00 AM or midnight. It's just like, OK.
- 7:29See you. You ordered singles, didn't you?
- 7:32Yeah. 2 singles, yeah. Right.
- 7:34And Mal and I got the all in which seemed to be shipped first
- 7:38by the sounds of it. I got my 2 singles as well so
- 7:41I've got. And have you already got the?
- 7:42#2 singles, yeah. Did they, did they come today?
- 7:49So singles. Oh, they showed up yesterday.
- 7:53Oh, OK. Yeah, that was, I was playing
- 7:55with him last. Night come on FedEx look after
- 7:57Rich. Yeah.
- 7:59I'll be fine, don't worry. Yeah, just unfortunately the
- 8:04work. Work is annoyingly busy at the
- 8:05moment as well, so it's it's just like manic.
- 8:08So yeah. I'm, I'm very busy at the
- 8:11moment, so I haven't had much time to do anything hobby
- 8:15related really other than little bit of prep for this week's
- 8:18episode, which of course is very important.
- 8:22And we did have the announcement of the Legions Con tickets,
- 8:27early bird pricing. So that's worth saying to people
- 8:30if you're going to Legions Con. And so they're going to be
- 8:34$40.00 for the weekend. The two day ticket which would
- 8:37be $20 a day basically work out as before they go on regular
- 8:43price of I think 50 for the the weekend.
- 8:46So I think quickly. I think they went up for sale
- 8:50the same time as the hotel, but I wonder if they got
- 8:54overshadowed by the hotel a bit. So they're sort of, yeah, of
- 8:57course people know. But also just that they're
- 9:02announcing this is this early bird pricing?
- 9:04Get them now, get them cheaper than yeah.
- 9:08Exactly so. They have to use Blue Haggon as
- 9:10the background though. It's like, really?
- 9:13That's a really great art though, from that wave, from
- 9:15that, not the blue Haggon wave, but from the deluxe Asian
- 9:19builders waves. That's I think I actually have
- 9:21that picture. I got it from Nick Burch.
- 9:23So yeah. That's OK, I don't mind that.
- 9:28Are you sure? I'll say that in case Nate
- 9:31listens. Yeah, that's fine.
- 9:34I think the good thing about that art is it was for long
- 9:36before Blue Haggon was actually a thing in terms of being a real
- 9:39figure. So that was the first hint we
- 9:42got that that might be coming as an option.
- 9:45And then even then it still had to be voted.
- 9:47Wasn't it voted in Blue Wagner? No, it wasn't.
- 9:50No, it was a retailer wave in the end.
- 9:53I think it I think it was in a vote but didn't get through.
- 9:56Surprise, surprise before it. Wasn't before it was in the vote
- 10:01and it didn't get through so the year after they did it anyway.
- 10:04They did. It was.
- 10:04Supposedly it was so close. Yeah, that's it.
- 10:09And one other cool thing, uh, this weekend, uh, our buddy, uh,
- 10:13a friend of the show, Matt Drake, who we had lovely dinner
- 10:17with and on the Sunday we met him at Legions Con, obviously
- 10:22some multiple times over the weekend, but we had a dinner
- 10:25with him and a few of the people.
- 10:26Mark Calvo was with us and, uh, I think Trevor and, uh, a few
- 10:31other people joined for parts of that dinner on Sunday evening,
- 10:35the Sunday evening, it's kind of cool because everyone's kind of
- 10:37winding down and, you know, just trying to load up on carbs and
- 10:43few beers and kind of not go too crazy for the, for the big
- 10:48travel day the next day. So yeah, Matt was, he's over
- 10:52teaching in Germany. So I actually managed to meet up
- 10:55with him and I had a couple of hours.
- 10:58We went for lunch and a little walk around and it was beautiful
- 11:02sunny day, so it was great to catch up with Matt for a few
- 11:05hours. And when someone comes that far
- 11:08and it's possible to meet them, why not?
- 11:11Oh. Absolutely.
- 11:12Yeah, people would do the exact same for us if we were in their
- 11:17neck of the woods. And he did give us a little
- 11:21present each, so I'm just going to show pictures.
- 11:25So see this little disc here? This little like disc?
- 11:28Yeah, it's one of those that comes with I think a Star Wars
- 11:31Black series figure from the Acolyte.
- 11:34I think that you were talking about maybe before Mal on the
- 11:37show some stage. And he said that they those
- 11:41figures went on pretty much clearance at one of the stores.
- 11:45He was in very, very low price anyway and he picked up a bunch
- 11:49of them and he's given us one of those light discs each, so just
- 11:54a little picture so. Yeah, I already know what I'm
- 11:57going to do with that. Yeah, they'll be in the box that
- 12:00I sent to you Rich you you'll have you you have to honesty
- 12:03system give one to mouth next time you see him or because the
- 12:08next time you have to see him now to.
- 12:10Allegiance can't rely. Yeah, I forgot it.
- 12:14Well, Mal, Mal's bring it. Back to America to to give it to
- 12:17to you. You'll probably get taxed on it
- 12:19this time though. Yeah, no, Mal's ATL 25 had a
- 12:23little trip to the office with me on Monday, to Birmingham to
- 12:26meet up at Mal and then my meeting was cancelled.
- 12:28So you went to the office and then he came home with me and
- 12:31he's going back up with me on Friday with me and Mel go out
- 12:33for a few beers after that same meeting, which has now been
- 12:35rescheduled, so. OK, so you are going, but later
- 12:38this week, yeah, we have a bank holiday here on Thursday, so the
- 12:431st of May, Labour Day, Monday, so.
- 12:47Yeah. Yeah, I think I said that
- 12:48before. Ours are always on the day that
- 12:50they, you know, the calendar day that they're fallen.
- 12:54So this is a May is bank holiday month, this 1st of May, 9th of
- 12:59May and also so the second last Thursday, which is some
- 13:05religious day ascension or something.
- 13:08So 9th of May is Europe Day. You could have had that one.
- 13:11I think we've talked about this before anyway, should we get on
- 13:19with the the topic at hand and so we're not going to do, I
- 13:23might add, I might add pictures in the edit and maybe per
- 13:28category. Let's see how we go and put
- 13:32first up we have Barbarians and let you go mild because you
- 13:38know. My favorite?
- 13:40Yeah, well, one of your favourites, so.
- 13:43This is a tough one. This was a tough one, but.
- 13:46Can I just check are you going to start off with 1 + 7
- 13:49honourable mentions? No, no.
- 13:51And then keep going. Like that, OK, just like he's.
- 13:53Going to play at some point tonight so I'm just checking.
- 13:55I can even I can just sorry, I can just transcribe the editor,
- 13:59the episode in my editor and every time he says, this is a
- 14:02tough one, I can just strike it out and then we can quick batch
- 14:06edit done. So realistically, there's only
- 14:10like two or three. It's tough in terms of picking
- 14:12which you know, this one or this one or this one.
- 14:16Not like this one, this one, this one, this one, this one,
- 14:18this one. And anyway, I ended up settling
- 14:21on the Legendary barbarian with a note.
- 14:29This will probably change to Atlas version 2 when we get the
- 14:34new version, because part of what I like about Legendary
- 14:38Barbarian is the new parts, the new torso and new legs and all
- 14:42that. I really like the sculpt on
- 14:45that. But Atlas is probably my
- 14:48favorite character barbarian, you know?
- 14:52So yeah. Right.
- 14:56Legendary barbarian was what? Legendary Barbarian.
- 14:58So that's your favorite barbarian now?
- 15:00We've fixed on that. Yes, Rich then.
- 15:07Mine was the barbarian builder. It's the original, OK, Just
- 15:11because there's so many parts to it, you know, so many extra
- 15:13pieces and that sort of stuff. And in my head, as much as I
- 15:18dislike Barbarians, that's what a barbarian should be, should
- 15:20have loads of different parts. You know, he's killed somebody,
- 15:22got a couple of helmet attachments from then killed
- 15:25somebody else, different ones, you know, So I like the idea of
- 15:28having all those different parts and be able to swap them over
- 15:30and that sort of thing. So it's the builder for me.
- 15:34Right, yeah, and I suppose it's easy enough to turn that into
- 15:36something that's not a barbarian.
- 15:38In it. Some of the best parts though in
- 15:43there. I love the still the tassels,
- 15:46the waist piece. I don't know why I have to do
- 15:48that. It's still one of my.
- 15:50Favorite. Not quite sure what you're doing
- 15:51there now, but yeah. It's tassels so.
- 15:57For me, this can be arrested. In the sign language we
- 15:59mentioned doing that. This is one of the, I think 2:00
- 16:03that I picked that we don't have in hand yet.
- 16:07And and this is brother of Bjorngar picked him because he's
- 16:12basically a Viking. So always wanted a Viking, but
- 16:16still counts as a barbarian and has a pretty cool bio.
- 16:21I mean, pity about the Brad thing, you know, sorry Brad.
- 16:28Sorry, Brad. And yeah, so he's a he's an
- 16:31elder in the barbarian clan. So I think that's pretty cool.
- 16:34So, you know, he's he's seen a lot, he's done a lot.
- 16:36He acts as and he's helping Atlas to build the ranks of the
- 16:44house, that kind of stuff. So yeah, I just think he's a
- 16:49cool character. It looks cool and bit of a
- 16:51different twist. I mean, I'm a little bit in
- 16:54miles campier. I do like this faction and these
- 16:57figures, so I could have picked a few.
- 17:01I think the new barbarian, legendary barbarian is a great
- 17:05pick as well. And of course, the original
- 17:07builder is, yeah, still a figure that I would give to someone
- 17:12who's interested in the line and say here, what do you think of
- 17:15this every? Time I see one of those original
- 17:17builders for sale, I fight the urge to buy it.
- 17:21I've got three of them, not the well I've got the you know, they
- 17:24were re released. I've got that one and got the
- 17:25very original 1. Right.
- 17:29And yeah, maybe to keep the structure then we'll just we'll,
- 17:32we'll keep going the same order. And this is one that could that
- 17:36could annoy our friends Anthony and GUI on especially the Dwarf.
- 17:41The Dwarf clan in among the Allegiance faction.
- 17:44And you will have strong opinions on this is better.
- 17:47Exactly. Yeah, I expect, I expect a
- 17:50little a little letter in the post after this episode at some
- 17:55point. So favorite dwarf.
- 17:57And again, the criteria here is whatever you want, you know, you
- 18:00know, you can choose anything that makes it your favorite.
- 18:03So well. Another tough one for me because
- 18:06I love all the dwarfs. I love that build just.
- 18:10And I like dwarfs. They're one of my favorite sort
- 18:12of races in along with Barbarians in any sort of
- 18:15fantasy. In future, I suspect it will be
- 18:22the male dwarf builder that we're getting.
- 18:24I forget what it is, King under the mountains or something like
- 18:26that. Yeah.
- 18:27Anton. Anton of the Forge.
- 18:29Yeah, Anton of the Forge I think will be my favorite in future.
- 18:33But at the moment with what we've got, I should say partly
- 18:37and because again, it's a like, Oh no, it's again, I said this
- 18:40to John beforehand. I kind of like characters with
- 18:43human heads, you know, with actual more like a character
- 18:46head. But there aren't many of them in
- 18:49the dwarves as it happens. And ironically, I've gone for
- 18:54one that doesn't get there eventually, but I've gone with
- 18:57him. I've gone with him because he, I
- 18:59think he's got the best bio for me.
- 19:01And that's on steel hide, right? Yeah, he's a little bit
- 19:05different for dwarf, for a dwarf, and I really like that
- 19:08bio. He's the happy dwarf, isn't he,
- 19:11Swinging in the trees and stuff. That's it.
- 19:13I like the the image of him leaping through the trees.
- 19:17Yeah, yeah, he's one I'd love to get in legacies of mythos with
- 19:22the with the non helmeted. Yeah.
- 19:24Head and that kind of stuff. And maybe, maybe even more
- 19:29appropriate armour for. A bit.
- 19:32Lightly, yeah, yeah. So that could be something after
- 19:37we get the dwarf pack. Straggle.
- 19:40Yeah, with some leaves in it in places.
- 19:43As if. It's tracking the brave fighters
- 19:45vibes may be coming off him. You know, it doesn't have to be
- 19:48flocked, but you know. That would be quite cool.
- 19:51Action Man flocked. Hair maybe when he takes his
- 19:56helmet off he's got pointy ears because his his race.
- 19:58Half elf, half dwarfs. Been a bit of into breeding
- 20:01going on there. That's true.
- 20:04I mean, he was one that came up on my shortlist now, but I don't
- 20:07have him. So that kind of knocked it off.
- 20:10But I have admired him in your cabinet when I was over a couple
- 20:15years ago and bridge, right? Mine is this I've this is one of
- 20:20my representation ones. So it's not my favorite dwarf,
- 20:24but it is my favorite representation.
- 20:25So it's how may golden tooth. OK, This to me is what a dwarf
- 20:30should be. It's like, you know, really
- 20:32heavily armoured, huge beard, like big old beard, fancy
- 20:39headgear. Obviously with the little the
- 20:40little wings. He that's that's even worse than
- 20:42Mal's arm thinks the wings he's got up there as well, which
- 20:45which worked really well. Yeah.
- 20:48So as a representation of what I think of a dwarf with big hammer
- 20:51and everything as well. It's absolutely helmet.
- 20:54Yeah, I at this point I was going to put something from his
- 20:57bio in as well to jazz it up a little bit, but wow, his bio is.
- 21:01To say it needs an upgrade would be an understatement.
- 21:03It's vanilla and lacking any sort of details.
- 21:06It's in the early days, it's fair to say, looking at.
- 21:08It I think that Colosseum wave as well is an in between wave.
- 21:12It's great wave of figures. But yeah, maybe time constraints
- 21:17on that one. Yeah, because it being mostly a
- 21:19repaint rave, they just put the the bare necessities into the
- 21:24bio so. And in another link to Anthony
- 21:28and Guillan, I sold my helmet Guillan a couple of years back,
- 21:31so. So you don't anymore.
- 21:33No, I was presuming they'd reissue it and they haven't.
- 21:35So Oh no, who put a luck on that one?
- 21:38But there you go, these things. He is a character though, isn't
- 21:40he is sort of quite an important character, so we might get him
- 21:43in. Yeah, we might get him.
- 21:44You never know. Yeah, or.
- 21:46Whatever it's going to get, Legacies.
- 21:48Was it. I can't legacies.
- 21:49Legacies. Yeah, Yeah.
- 21:51We don't need to say All Stars anymore.
- 21:52That's great and mine is Brompton.
- 21:57Orange went for him, and. Yeah.
- 22:01Great, great looking figure and he's got the classic kind of big
- 22:07beard, bald head, but then a cool crown as well that you can
- 22:10put on him because he's king. And then the bio is is really
- 22:16great to do with the, you know, he's basically doing a deal with
- 22:21Corgo Aether blade. He's working alongside King
- 22:24Noglin and it's pretty much on the knife edge how it could go
- 22:30for him, you know, so just just a cool kind of character.
- 22:35And you could imagine in any sort of media or story with
- 22:38Bromden that could be, you could write a really cool kind of
- 22:45thread for him in the story that could really take a lot of
- 22:49twists and turns in the plot. And yeah, great figure.
- 22:51I mean, black and gold, you know, the red beard and yeah, it
- 22:57just looks great. He's got that.
- 22:58He's got some soft goods that have that kind of fur.
- 23:01It's not fur. It's not the fur like Cassia or
- 23:04one of those. It's it's more that kind of
- 23:06longer hair kind of stuff, isn't it?
- 23:12That I think the Freya had that as well, maybe in her.
- 23:17So yeah, shout for Brandon. I think he can't.
- 23:21I think he can't go wrong with any of those three really.
- 23:24Can you? Yeah.
- 23:25Again, they're all good, the dwarfs, aren't they?
- 23:27They're all awesome, even like the dwarf builders are cool.
- 23:30So yeah. I mean.
- 23:32Let's forget Ragnar, but yeah, the rest of my good.
- 23:35I really like Ragnar. I feel it's all this hate when
- 23:40when the person who made him hates her.
- 23:43It's like oh. That's the thing, isn't it?
- 23:45Even Eric's like that's his favorite one I've done.
- 23:47OK, there we go. It's one of Jim's favourites
- 23:49though. Jim.
- 23:50Jim knows what he's talking about.
- 23:58If they do a a question and answer session at the end of G
- 24:00Con this year, I've put my hand up and go.
- 24:02Eric, why? Why is Ravenna the worst
- 24:04character you ever made? Tell me.
- 24:06Oh my goodness. He's probably say it's because
- 24:10it was designed by committee or whatever it was.
- 24:12Maybe, Yeah. But the fans and I like Ravenna
- 24:16though, so yeah. I quite like.
- 24:19She was in my short list for best female SO.
- 24:24Interesting. Just shows people can differ,
- 24:27you know? And right, let's move on to
- 24:30night so we can annoy Joe Russo. I might have cheated a bit here,
- 24:36but it is. It's my favorite night.
- 24:40No, no, no, not your Vargas Familias version 2.
- 24:44Because to me, yeah, I let it. I let it go.
- 24:46The Armoured. He was second to my list Miles.
- 24:49There's nothing wrong with that. Yeah, he's, I mean, I was
- 24:51basically strictly. Speaking didn't even consider
- 24:53him, but I can see. I can see why you would, yeah.
- 24:56I wanted to go for someone else in the vampire category as well
- 24:59so and Vargas is one of my favorite characters so I had to
- 25:01get in there somewhere. It's just awesome.
- 25:03Even though we have a wild card section at the end for that.
- 25:06But yeah, sure, there's someone else who's.
- 25:09Another one of my favourites, but it could have been one
- 25:12version one or version 2 because I still, even though we've got
- 25:15version 2, I still really, really like that version 1 and
- 25:19the way that looks. I've gone to version. 2 because
- 25:24it is just a little bit of a step up in terms of the quality
- 25:27of the figure and the soft goods and and the additional bit of
- 25:30story does definitely, you know, adds to the character.
- 25:34So yeah. Definitely.
- 25:36Yeah. OK, Vargas, Too rich.
- 25:38Magnus. Right, good one.
- 25:41Is is my favorite. I just, I just like the idea of
- 25:46some of the Knights, like a lot of that you see the things
- 25:48they're fighting, the demons, the, you know, the the orcs,
- 25:53they're all big things. So I really like magnets just
- 25:56because he's that big hulking sort of knight build.
- 25:58It's like, you know, the armours badass.
- 26:01You know, that beard. You could just you know, who
- 26:03doesn't love that beard? But that's a that's a beard that
- 26:05demands, you know, people follow him into battle.
- 26:08Respect. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 26:11And then I love some of the bio stuff as well.
- 26:13So it's like, you know, a warrior so powerful the soldiers
- 26:15under his command often claim he possesses the strength of Leo
- 26:18Disus himself. Again, no nonsense, geezer.
- 26:22You want to follow this guy? Yeah.
- 26:25And then Magnus has a larger than life personality that
- 26:27matches his legendary strength. So again, he's down the Tavern
- 26:30with you. If he's not fighting, that's,
- 26:33you know, that's a good dude a lot of times like.
- 26:36He can go for a pint after day at work.
- 26:38I mean, that sounds ideally, yeah.
- 26:40You've killed 30 or 40 orcs? Go for a drink.
- 26:44Yeah, I think as a figure, I love the bulky torso and the
- 26:49gold on Magnus is the best gold that they've done.
- 26:52So yeah, I love that. And mine is Sir Gideon, too, a
- 27:01recent one. Incredible very good one.
- 27:05This is 80% because the figure is just so good and I did like
- 27:11the original Gideon as well. He also has a pretty cool head
- 27:18sculpts. You know he has the the head
- 27:23with the face guard that you can put up and down and he has the
- 27:26bucket helmet cool paint job. But Gideon too is just next
- 27:31level. Next level figure one of the
- 27:34best figures in the line at this point so that's why I had to
- 27:38pick him I was sure we might get a double up there but we didn't
- 27:41so that's pretty good and that's also good yeah move on to the
- 27:48next category, which I guess Gideon could also fall into here
- 27:51the pious category so the holy you know the holy order.
- 27:57So basically eat mostly ether on.
- 27:59I mean, you could, you could find in in some others, but.
- 28:03Ladies, yes, you could say what's the name is the carries
- 28:08the staff. Faustia.
- 28:10Faustia. She's a priest.
- 28:11Yeah, that's true. Right.
- 28:14Pious Mal, who's Who's your pious?
- 28:16So we get the double up. So Gideon version 2 for all the
- 28:22reasons. It's an incredible figure.
- 28:26I suspect if we had if I had ether on and almost certain when
- 28:33we get a re release V throne he would fill this gap but at the
- 28:37moment it's Sigidium version 2. Yeah, I mean his bio says stuff
- 28:44like so Gideon's face shall be tested, yet it shall not break,
- 28:48even as the dead rise from their graves and stand against him in
- 28:51the fields of battle. So yeah, he is a holy man.
- 28:58Yeah, we almost had 222 because he was mine for a while and then
- 29:01I changed my mind earlier so. And what did you change your
- 29:05mind to? The Templar Relic Guard.
- 29:08OK. Which again, I'm gone.
- 29:10It's not my favorite of the holy pious people, but it's the best
- 29:14representation, I think in my mind of what a pious knight
- 29:17would be. So really basic colour scheme,
- 29:20No fancy, you know, nothing fancy, no fancy armour, that
- 29:22sort of stuff. Not too ornate, you know,
- 29:25practical, you know, it shows the piousness of the peers from
- 29:28wearing it. So, you know, in that respect,
- 29:31that's that pious, holy sort of slide of things.
- 29:35And then the buyer for that is awesome, you know, an elite unit
- 29:37of 12 of the most capable and loyal Templars.
- 29:41So, you know, it's like mixed bandit, a team of Templars.
- 29:44That's pretty darn good. I didn't buy 12, sorry Jeremy,
- 29:48but I do have about 6 or 7, so yeah.
- 29:52Yeah, so he's the he's the Templar that came out in the
- 29:55lead the second run of those Legion builders.
- 29:58Yes, the reinforcements, yeah, reinforcements.
- 30:00Yeah. But I mean, also it's it says in
- 30:02their bio that they protect the secret known only to them.
- 30:05It's like, will we ever find that out?
- 30:07I really want that to be revealed at some point in the
- 30:08books or something like that. Yeah, I hope so.
- 30:12Yeah. And just the fact that, you
- 30:13know, the buyer also says, you know, until they return, you
- 30:15know, to the crown eagle who they faithfully.
- 30:17So again, that that all all that sort of stuff just screams pious
- 30:21to me. So that's how I infer.
- 30:23Love it, love it. I this is my second kind of
- 30:28cheat. I went for Sayer.
- 30:30Sir Andrew here. I think we we might all go
- 30:37towards intense Sir Sir Andrew when we get him in hand.
- 30:39It seems like a great figure. The bio is fantastic.
- 30:44He's a former Basilia member basically, or you know,
- 30:48potential Basilia member. So that also gives him a big
- 30:52thumbs up in my book. And he's a pyromancer.
- 30:55So fire starter, happy days and. Not for his family, but
- 31:01generally. For, for, you know, for doing
- 31:06well in battle and stuff like that.
- 31:08And there's a fantastic bio written by Joe Vaspola, who also
- 31:13designed the figure, so that's well worth checking out.
- 31:17You know, recognized for his convictions and devotion to the
- 31:21orders. And Andrew now leads the
- 31:22Repentant, a small band of criminals who volunteered to
- 31:26fight the undead and atone for past run doings.
- 31:30Sir Andrew's flames destroyed the undead army and his fallen
- 31:34allies alike, for what is ash cannot rise again.
- 31:39So, you know, if you're, if you want to get rid of those
- 31:42skeletons, Sir Andrew is definitely top of the list
- 31:45there. Yeah, I've already got three
- 31:48members of his Repent Repentant group sorted as well.
- 31:51Got 3 heads painted, all good to go.
- 31:54So thank you. I think you've shown me these
- 31:56before and I still can't. Possibly one of them is brand
- 32:00new, but. Sorry, thank you.
- 32:03I still can't. Help.
- 32:04But that can be Sir Andrew. Is going to get involved with
- 32:06Bay Affair somehow but. Possibly.
- 32:09Yeah, that would be cool. Maybe.
- 32:10Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 32:13But yeah, we can definitely revisit those customs, Rich,
- 32:15when we went to Andrew Lands, hopefully in the next couple of
- 32:18months at the latest, right. An exciting one and one that I
- 32:25mean, I was definitely this is the character type that drew me
- 32:30into the line as well. At the start, You know, I really
- 32:34wanted to get my hands on an orc.
- 32:37Once, you know, Advent of Decay, I kind of decided to go in on
- 32:42and there wasn't there was female orcs there, but I wanted
- 32:45to get a male orc. And there was a point in the
- 32:49line when these were very hard to track down a little bit
- 32:51easier these days. So orc male.
- 32:58I think he's just best one by far.
- 33:02You're not a huge fan of the orcs?
- 33:04No, no, they're all a bit. Sorry.
- 33:09They're all a bit. Say me I I think it's cool how
- 33:12we haven't got all just green orcs.
- 33:14Yeah, I think. I don't think I own any of the
- 33:17green orcs except that are not. But the reason he's cool.
- 33:22He thinks he's big and all the soft goods and he's a shame.
- 33:25And I think he's, you know, he's he's BIOS a bit different as
- 33:29well. You're not a bit different.
- 33:31He's cool and yeah, yeah, I think he just no pun intended,
- 33:37his head and shoulders above the other orcs.
- 33:41It wasn't pun intended. It was a my.
- 33:44Lie. Yeah.
- 33:47Well done. Well done.
- 33:48You got it. You got it right, Rich.
- 33:52Borthog for me. No, they're fantastic choice.
- 33:55Very close. I've got a.
- 33:57Green Orc. Yeah, he just edged out Herzog
- 34:03for me. I love the bearded look quite
- 34:06like the, you know, a lot of the orcs are like clean shaven and
- 34:08this sort of stuff. I really like the bearded sort
- 34:11of looks of the orc, you know, grizzled appearance and that
- 34:13sort of thing. It comes with about a million
- 34:15different parts, which is excellent.
- 34:18So, you know, you have a helmeted and helmeted heads,
- 34:20bare feet, armoured feet. I love that little wine cloth
- 34:24that he's got. Yeah.
- 34:26Little little chainmail one. That's a yeah, Yeah.
- 34:28That's that's an. Awesome one, it's.
- 34:30A relatively rare one, a bit more common now with the Knight
- 34:33Builders, but still. Yeah, I was trying to sell a
- 34:37Volfolk a while back. Could I find one of those?
- 34:40No, it took me forever. I eventually found it and it's
- 34:43like, right, OK, this can go now, but it just took me
- 34:45forever. I'd used it on custom and I
- 34:48just, yeah, it was like, you know, the last thing you find in
- 34:50your display room is like, yeah, yeah, that's the one that's got
- 34:52it on, right. I mean, the bio of this guy is
- 34:55pretty good as well. You know, he's he's such a bad
- 34:58ass trainer and warrior and, you know, strategist that his work
- 35:02got Ozok as high at the ranks as Ozok got.
- 35:06So, you know, that's, I really like that idea that, you know,
- 35:08Ozok's good, but Borthogs won the gossip there.
- 35:12But then they says his true allegiance is with Queen Erksa,
- 35:16which hints at problems with Herzog going forward.
- 35:18Because I think Herzog is very much a Gorgo man.
- 35:21He's a gorgo. So that's, that's something I'd
- 35:22like to see them visit so that that bit of bio as well crossed
- 35:25me towards him as a character. Love it.
- 35:30Mine is bride fighters, of course.
- 35:35Yes. I hadn't thought about Bryfight.
- 35:40He is an orc. I forgot he was an orc.
- 35:43Yeah. Yeah, so you know, must man is
- 35:46my all time favorite Masters of the Universe characters, so has
- 35:50to get a Bryfight is in there. I actually love this figure as
- 35:53well. I'm not it's not just a bit.
- 35:56I really like it. So not much more to say there.
- 36:00He has a cool little bio, again, the BIOS for the tribute figures
- 36:05or whatever, they don't really count as such in terms of the
- 36:11story, but still cool. So, and you see, you know, a bit
- 36:17like Theranog, he's a good orc, you know, the power to absorb
- 36:21and redirect plant life around him.
- 36:25He's serves as a shining example for bringing peace and order to
- 36:30the land. Sounds like we could need more
- 36:33of him around these days. Or it sounds like he's pushing
- 36:36the plant life into the battle and staying safe himself behind
- 36:40a tree, just pushing everything else out.
- 36:42Or maybe he's it's the type of plant life that it is a rolling
- 36:48pipes. Yeah, but I fight.
- 36:51It's trying to save said plant life.
- 36:55Right, that brings us on to the elf.
- 36:59Another tricky one. Maybe tricky because if you
- 37:02don't like elves, that's tricky. Or there isn't that many elves.
- 37:07There are. There is good and bad elves, so
- 37:10there's shadow elves as well. What do you got now?
- 37:14So yeah, hi, elves aren't one of my favourites had I just I don't
- 37:18actually own many elves. They are one that I tend to
- 37:21avoid. I, I don't, and I've said before
- 37:31it's that Tolkien style elf that people do, of the thin hair, you
- 37:36know, blonde haired or pale that I'm not very keen on.
- 37:42I do really. I, I didn't go with Lord
- 37:48Bardrick because I actually do really like him, but I've got a
- 37:51feeling someone else here might go with him.
- 37:54And I will say, moving forward, I think Neve will become my
- 37:57favorite elf. As it is, yeah.
- 38:00Yeah, as it is I've gone with shadow Elf Ranger because I
- 38:06didn't get him for the longest time, but the minute I got those
- 38:08shadow elves in hand, I love the colours and the fact they're
- 38:13like more of a dark elf, but they are a dark elf actually
- 38:16makes them a bit cooler than the the normal namby pamby girly
- 38:19elves, you know? Yeah, I mean, if you're into,
- 38:26you know, DND at all or you know, the the Dritz stories and
- 38:32that kind of stuff, he's a he's a dark elf.
- 38:35So the shadow elves definitely give more of that kind of vibe
- 38:39and I suppose hint towards that type of a character type as
- 38:44opposed to, you know, the goody goody elves that you're not so
- 38:48interested in. So yeah, that's a good show.
- 38:51Probably probably the best of the Dark Elves maybe, unless
- 38:55rich as a. No, we've doubled up for the
- 38:58first time. Mine is a Ranger as well, so for
- 39:01the exact same reasons Mal was talking about.
- 39:03I mean I love the dark elves in Warhammer.
- 39:05We're always my favorite, so evil elves are always going to
- 39:08draw me in. And the the shadow elf Ranger,
- 39:11just Malachi is probably my favorite elf.
- 39:14But the the Rangers, the Rangers of like the representation of
- 39:18one elf should be, you know, the long hair or the hood, you know,
- 39:22the bow, all that sort of stuff. So.
- 39:23And again, the Dark Elves are better so.
- 39:26Yeah, yeah. We also have Manisha syndrome
- 39:30coming soon as well. We do.
- 39:31Or not? She's very good.
- 39:32Yeah, Yeah. Yeah.
- 39:34This year still, yeah, I went for Lord Bardrick.
- 39:38Yeah, he's one of my favorite figures in the line since he was
- 39:42revealed. I think he still holds up and
- 39:47he's a 1.0 well, which, you know, maybe goes against the
- 39:52stereotype like Mal was saying of the kind of thing of.
- 39:55But yeah, I prefer they've definitely managed to nail the
- 40:01look for him and he looks great. Head sculpt is great.
- 40:05The figure design is great with the the.
- 40:09Was a new torso at that point in time in the line, the Lithia
- 40:12wave was that torso plug with the kind of leathery squares.
- 40:20So yeah, he's just a cool, cool character.
- 40:26He's also Lord of the fabled Harvest course, so he has his
- 40:30own kind of gig going on within the flock, and it's a Mystic
- 40:37mystical gathering of ancient warriors dedicating to protect
- 40:41the lands of Zeilona. So yeah.
- 40:45And he's good with an axe, so. Sounds like you'd make a good
- 40:50mini wave by itself it. Does actually, doesn't it?
- 40:52Yeah. Or part of a wave maybe.
- 40:55You know, if you were to kind of theme a wave again.
- 41:00All right, Mal, we've come up to Rich's favorite faction, or at
- 41:05least favorite character type this.
- 41:08Is where I do Mal, so my 12th favorite is my 11th favorite.
- 41:12I will. Let's see if we can.
- 41:14Get some off the list from here straight up.
- 41:17This, this one is quite a tough one because I do, I do like
- 41:20vampires and I think they've got a few cool characters in the,
- 41:25in, in the brood. But I went with Vogue because I
- 41:30like that little vicious. He doesn't have to be little.
- 41:33If he was big, it'd be cool as well.
- 41:35But that idea that he's a bit more animalistic and you know,
- 41:38and he's sort of, yeah, could RIP people apart.
- 41:44And he almost gives off the flying monkeys from Wizdevas
- 41:49vibes I think. He does, doesn't he?
- 41:50Yeah, yeah, I really like that. I really like that.
- 41:53Yeah, I always imagined Virg. Now kind of, you know, the arms
- 41:57out wide and the kind of legs kind of, you know, like an X you
- 42:01know, this like, that's about going to land on you.
- 42:03Yeah. I thought you can say he's got
- 42:07his own exercise video for a second there, John.
- 42:09Yeah, Mr. Motivator, Vardstyle. Cool, cool.
- 42:16Shall I? It's seen as this is your
- 42:17favorite, Rich. I'm going to go.
- 42:19Yep. And next for this one, I went
- 42:21for Valak because I love this character's design.
- 42:27I almost see him as the kind of evil Lord Bardrick in the design
- 42:33way. You know, he's got similar parts
- 42:35used, but it's all obviously in the black and purples of the fun
- 42:42perfection. He's got that great little scarf
- 42:44piece, plus the hood and amazing head sculpt.
- 42:50He's got the cinder, the bird on the arm.
- 42:54That was the first time we'd seen that as well.
- 42:56And he has a cool role in the, in the brood of being the kind
- 43:01of the scout that goes ahead and, you know, uses his bird
- 43:07Cinder to kind of spy and see what's going on up ahead.
- 43:13A bit like that guy in Game of Thrones, remember?
- 43:15Was it Mackenzie Crook played him?
- 43:19Oh yeah, the was it Wag? Was it called?
- 43:22Yeah, Wag. Yeah, exactly.
- 43:23Yeah. Or warg, whatever.
- 43:25Or. Something like that, Yeah, one
- 43:26of the rings I like mispronounced it, but yeah,
- 43:28yeah. So yeah, he did the whole eyes
- 43:31thing and these eyes go into the animal or whatever, and he had a
- 43:34bird. So I just love that whole kind
- 43:37of thing with with relax. So yeah, that's my vote.
- 43:41Both really cool choices, gents. Umm, as I've said many times on
- 43:44this, No, no, as I said many times on this show, my favorite
- 43:47vampire is the Vampire Night. But to avoid repeating all the
- 43:52same stuff about him, I've gone from my favorite vampire
- 43:54representation, and that is Baron Boligar too.
- 44:00Right. Cool.
- 44:01Love this guy. Like the ornate armour in my
- 44:04mind, like a vampire that's that old will have a matched really,
- 44:07really fancy armour. So the innate armour that he's
- 44:10got really fits in with that sort of, you know, that view and
- 44:14the cloak, you know, again, it's just like, you know, I've been
- 44:16around a long time. I look really imposed and really
- 44:19fancy when I come along. I'm intrigued by the scarred
- 44:23head. It's like he's a vampire.
- 44:25So who what the hell happened to him that the scar is still there
- 44:28and hasn't healed and that sort of stuff.
- 44:29So I mean, really intrigued by that combination of the two BIOS
- 44:34because obviously he's got both. But, you know, he was the first
- 44:37born vampire, which when I was reading that through again
- 44:41today, I was like, no, so Lithia just wasn't just interested in
- 44:44conquering then, she was interested in other stuff as
- 44:45well. Saw an outfit she liked, Boom,
- 44:49there we go. But I also like the fact he's
- 44:53got no interest in leading himself.
- 44:55It's just like, no, I'll train Lucretia up and then I'm out of
- 44:59it. That sings to me somehow.
- 45:01I don't know why. It's like, yeah, you know.
- 45:03Maybe it's to do with the scar? Yeah, maybe.
- 45:06Oh, harsh, funny, but hard. And he wants his mum back, so,
- 45:17you know, he's a bloodthirsty vampire.
- 45:19He's got a bit of a kind sweet spot.
- 45:21He wants his mummy back. So yeah, there we go.
- 45:25Or is this homelander from the Boys?
- 45:28Oh, no, no, no, no. All right.
- 45:33That's a great choice as well, though.
- 45:35Yeah, it's good. And some unique parts that
- 45:37haven't been used again. Baron Vulgar, too.
- 45:43It's got a unique torso. I think those pauldrons haven't
- 45:45been used again, certainly not in the figure we have in hand.
- 45:51So. But they haven't revisited The
- 45:52Vamps in a while, have they? I mean, maybe you should.
- 45:55Start listening for Horseman. Yeah, you should start a
- 45:58campaign, Rich. It might be time.
- 46:01I'll see I could get I could get AT shirt with my own face on it
- 46:03with me holding up a little black card going Where are The
- 46:05Vamps? So I get my own face on it, but
- 46:07I also try and get. As we're going back to, you
- 46:11know, what is it the kind of start of mythos again or
- 46:16whatever, Whatever way the story is going, there has to be some
- 46:19vampires somewhere knocking around.
- 46:22You know they don't die as such, right?
- 46:26Ogres and this was an interesting one.
- 46:31What did you go for, Mel? This was tougher than I
- 46:33expected, but I I went with. It's a bit of a cheese to 1 I
- 46:41suppose, but I went with the noble barge as in the set stuck
- 46:46on whatever, but I think that's. That's official figure, yeah.
- 46:51Half giant is effectively an ogre, isn't it?
- 46:53Sort of thing. Yeah, I just meant the fact that
- 46:56I've gone more with the the set rather than the actual figure.
- 46:59But I just think he looks so cool with all the, you know, all
- 47:02the gear on and the big shield and just definitely.
- 47:05The figure for the shield or for the for the figure for the
- 47:08accessory set. Sorry.
- 47:10Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I say I don't display the
- 47:13builder, just play him. So yeah.
- 47:18Yeah, I mean, that's a cool we had.
- 47:21We had the first ogre wave where we got the the other kind of
- 47:26human skinned over. What was he called again?
- 47:30Although the tower. Both.
- 47:32Both are the tower. That's what I would actually
- 47:34really. Like but I don't have him and he
- 47:36doesn't pop up very often so. No, I've, I've got him, but
- 47:41mine's got a broken leg, not like splintered.
- 47:44It's not an accident during, you know, in his character sort of
- 47:46thing. But the yeah, I bought 1 where
- 47:48the, the guy had broken the knee.
- 47:50So it's, it's fixed it. Well, but that knee is not
- 47:52bending. So yeah, even for my poses, he's
- 47:56very good. Like, yeah, he's station.
- 47:57Cramp. He's got German and Cramp.
- 47:59Yeah. OK, Rich, what have you got for
- 48:06Ogre? Argomedes for me.
- 48:09Right. He's a cyclops.
- 48:11I love the cyclops gives me real sort of Harry housing vibes as
- 48:15well. I think probably the colour
- 48:17scheme and everything that they went with that it really gives
- 48:20that really cool little helmet too that pops on that works well
- 48:24if you slice it up and use other things as well.
- 48:26I found. And then bio wise is like, you
- 48:29know, master Craftsman with a key knife for decent and
- 48:31precision. These giant tinkerers consider
- 48:34it the highest honor to fashion the weapons of war for the
- 48:36armies of mythos, which again, I like because it's not just the
- 48:38evil armies. They, you know, it's like, who's
- 48:41going to pay me the most? Yes.
- 48:43Independent weapons maker, Yeah. Yes yeah, and we support the
- 48:48independent weapons makers you know it's but then I also like
- 48:53the business buyer. But the true secret behind
- 48:55Algomedes mastery of the forge comes from the experience he has
- 48:58gained wielding his own creations in battle.
- 49:00So again, this is not a guy that just sits behind everything he
- 49:03gets stuck in and does The Dirty work as well so.
- 49:06No, he'd want to get his finger out and design a few more ogre
- 49:09weapons. He would yes, they are lacking
- 49:13somewhat. And he's my pick as well.
- 49:17I just think he's he's unique in the in the ogres and I think
- 49:22he's what I might imagine more when I think of an ogre.
- 49:27Or at least he fits the name Ogre better maybe than some of
- 49:32the other figures. I think Kurzog is close because
- 49:40he's kind of green, cool, but also got a lot of detail in the
- 49:45sculpt and the kind of unique design.
- 49:48But yeah, I think arguably this takes it for me.
- 49:52It's funny isn't it? Because I I took this as ogre
- 49:54scale rather than actual ogre, so I was expecting people to
- 49:59pick Araka Gore and. He could have picked.
- 50:04That's why I yeah, I could. Go with him or you know.
- 50:09Yeah, you could definitely pick on the scale.
- 50:12So yeah, I also like what's his. Name in the vampires?
- 50:18Oh yeah. He was.
- 50:22He was just. Get some special mentions in.
- 50:29Right, slightly smaller category here, Trolls, and we're not
- 50:32talking about the guys in the cabal.
- 50:37Unfortunately that's quite a big category at the moment.
- 50:41Feels like. Right, what we got now.
- 50:46Kind of another tough one, isn't it, Because it is kind of what
- 50:49colour is your favorite colour and what faces your favorite
- 50:53colour? Yeah.
- 50:55Although some of them with the heads packs you could really
- 50:58make any. Yeah.
- 51:00So I went with the forest troll to the first one I ever got and
- 51:04still my favorite the forest troll 2.0 and I love him with
- 51:07the bearded head because I feel like I imagine that.
- 51:11Yeah, he's a bit more like. He's he's stood with Bryophytus
- 51:14in my display, and that feels right.
- 51:17They feel similar, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 51:23Love it, rich. I went with Brontus version 2.
- 51:29I mean, it's basically the same thing, but I used the second
- 51:32head for something else in my display.
- 51:33So that's what I've gone for that one again, a cyclops.
- 51:37I love the colours. As mouth said, it does go a lot,
- 51:38come down a lot to colours. But I do love, do love that
- 51:41orange and the blue eye. And he's an intelligent troll.
- 51:46You know, he's a general in the army and and you know, it's a
- 51:49sad violin time sort of thing, but you know, he carries the
- 51:53skull of an ally of his as a part of his weapon to remind
- 51:56himself what it takes to survive in the savage and cruel world.
- 52:01It's a very dramatic line, but you know, it's.
- 52:04I'm not sure. The one, yeah, The ones that
- 52:06grow with intelligence, isn't he?
- 52:08Yeah, he is at the moment. Yeah, I go for the ice troll and
- 52:13again, the that's my favorite troll head, I think the one that
- 52:17came originally with the ice troll.
- 52:19And yeah, he can freeze a man with his icy breath.
- 52:22So, you know, they've done the fiery breath.
- 52:26Where's the icy breath? Interestingly, the the one that
- 52:32isn't associated with anyone, Yeah, whilst Rich picked the one
- 52:37associated with the noble bear interest.
- 52:43It's going to change my mind now.
- 52:46I forgot I. Forgot icy breath coming off a
- 52:49troll just look like halitosis though.
- 52:51Like a dragon. You expect that with a troll?
- 52:54You just like, whoa, no, no. And yeah, maybe it needs to be
- 52:58more. Yeah, it probably isn't going to
- 53:01be that directional like the fire.
- 53:02It's going to be just more of a foggy cloud coming out from the
- 53:07from the troll as he kind of. But a screaming head sculpts for
- 53:10the trolls would be cool. Oh yeah, sort of snarly.
- 53:14Wouldn't that that would really up the game.
- 53:17So a future heads pack and. No, yeah, I'm not.
- 53:21I'm not sure even. Sorry.
- 53:22I was just thinking of the third party sort of things.
- 53:24I'm not sure anyone's actually sculpted one with a screaming
- 53:26head. There's loads of troll heads out
- 53:28there. I don't recall one that's got a
- 53:30big old scream on it. No, they're all quite neutral,
- 53:33aren't they? Maybe that's to do with the way
- 53:35they're designed. Maybe you won't be able to angle
- 53:38the screaming head properly, like kind of back or whatever, I
- 53:41don't know, but I'm sure. He could be screaming, he could
- 53:43be screaming sorry, he could be screaming to.
- 53:46That he's screaming, Yeah. Screaming to the heavens.
- 53:49Yeah, that's a good one. Yeah.
- 53:52Or screaming to his toes. Oh, you could do that.
- 53:57You have him looking down, screaming at his toes and then
- 53:59just a little piece of Lego right next to him on the on the
- 54:02shelf. Or, or near me out here.
- 54:08Where's he gone? The rat.
- 54:11Yeah, scared of the rat, Yeah. Yeah, terrified of the rat.
- 54:17It's true. As someone I think speaking to
- 54:19Detour Customs on Instagram, on our Instagram the other day,
- 54:23Stefan and he's claiming that Splinter from TMNT is now in,
- 54:30He's now in the line somewhere. Why not?
- 54:35It's a bit of a stretch, but yeah, yeah, go for it.
- 54:40Radio. More difficult category to pick
- 54:44from here. Now Goblins.
- 54:46A lot of choice here. Lots.
- 54:47Of these Oh yeah. And a lot of them are very, very
- 54:50cool, but. Yeah, and they all have very
- 54:55unique kind of character traits. Or even BIOS and.
- 54:59Fun BIOS, yeah. I've settled on, though, the one
- 55:04who I think is my favorite and the Gone with Snag.
- 55:07And it's that face, isn't it? That and well, it's a mixture of
- 55:11that face and I've got him basic.
- 55:14I love this idea that he can't help but what, you know, steal
- 55:18something. And so he's all loaded up with
- 55:22all this stuff and he just can't help himself.
- 55:24And again, he gives a bit of a sense of humour to the
- 55:28character. Yeah, that was a that was a cool
- 55:31thing for me at the, you know, he was in the Advent order that
- 55:36I ordered first. Now I got them probably after I
- 55:40got other mythics, but it was still all the, you know, the
- 55:44little baggie of weapons that you got that where he's kind of
- 55:47bounty that like some of them are just unrelated to him.
- 55:50It's just me one or, you know, 1 the antler attachment and 1 you
- 55:57know, so such a fun. And that kind of is like, Oh
- 56:00yeah, this is kind of cool. There's a lot of thought gone
- 56:03into this. It's kind of, you know, some
- 56:05mismatched stuff, nothing symmetrical.
- 56:07It's really. Cool.
- 56:08I love him. I think he's great.
- 56:11He's great. Yeah, he's he's right up there
- 56:14for me. But I I guess someone might pick
- 56:17him. So I went a different direction.
- 56:19Rich. King nodling for me.
- 56:23This guy's my favorite goblin. I love him.
- 56:26It's to me, this is what an upstart gobbo should be sort of
- 56:30thing. So you know, he thinks he's
- 56:31better than he is. Doesn't matter if he's king.
- 56:33It's it's Gobblins at the end of the day, but he's got that
- 56:36proper evil little grin. It's, it's such a good little,
- 56:39you know, like. He sort of, yeah.
- 56:42Brilliant. You know, he's got the pompous
- 56:44gold armour, he's got the staff that's like 6 times his height
- 56:48and that sort of stuff. It's just that ridiculousness
- 56:50that I'd want with the goblin sort of thing.
- 56:53So I love him. Again, another bland bio.
- 56:56I'll be honest. It talks about the goblins and
- 56:58the dwarves and them living under the mountain but need an
- 57:00update there. But a brilliant figure.
- 57:03I absolutely love Noblin. I I absolutely love the the
- 57:09photo the photo on on his bio where he's pacing across in
- 57:13front of the other two goblins. I just have visions of him like
- 57:17pacing back and forwards, like muttering away to himself trying
- 57:21to work out what to do after some plans failed or something
- 57:25like that and I love it. Find that again.
- 57:31I went for slightly different direction for Bob Goblin.
- 57:38Good one, yeah. Goblin, not the Hellfire goblin.
- 57:41Interesting. Yeah, yeah, he was.
- 57:44Bob Goblin was another one of those that I was really keen to
- 57:47get when I originally got into the line.
- 57:51Very unique head sculpt. Now we did get it in the in the
- 57:54Hellfire Goblin as well, so, you know, it's a bit easier to get
- 58:00now. And we got in the heads back
- 58:02with the open mouth, which is cool.
- 58:05But the original Bob Goblin, it's just great kind of cool
- 58:10design on a dwarf body, which I guess when I saw it first I
- 58:13wouldn't have really paid too much attention to.
- 58:17But yeah, and that kind of glossy, slimy finish on the head
- 58:23is just perfect for this character and great, very
- 58:26detailed paint app on on the bug up and said.
- 58:29And even the armor is all rusty and stuff that kind of gives the
- 58:35impression that he's been around in the swamp.
- 58:39You know, it's a filthy breed that is willing, most willing to
- 58:43serve in the army of the dark forces, armed with the ability
- 58:48to vomit a hot and sticky black bile at their enemies.
- 58:53Bug goblins are feared even by the bravest warrior.
- 58:56And I think that with the Hellfire government, you got
- 58:58that they they spit some sort of fiery stuff or some sort of
- 59:03other liquid. So, yeah.
- 59:06And I like the bug goblin, I was very happy when he came up in
- 59:10All Stars too, shortly after I got into the line.
- 59:15So it's a good one, right? Very difficult category coming
- 59:20up the skeletons. So yeah, it was.
- 59:26Now we've got the new skeletons. This is a tough one.
- 59:29I think previously it might have been a bit easier for me, but
- 59:34I've gone with Tupeculi it. Good choice.
- 59:39Yeah, it's just fun, isn't there?
- 59:41I mean it's. I went for that as well.
- 59:45Yeah, cool bio, awesome figure. The fact you can do so many
- 59:48different setups with it and any of them could be right, you
- 59:52know, Really. Yeah, He's he's awesome.
- 59:58Yeah, I tell. You know, I didn't want to put
- 1:00:00in another future once I could have put in Thoracis, but I
- 1:00:04think. Turpicula is just the ultimate
- 1:00:07skeleton figure right now. It just has everything going,
- 1:00:13you know? If he's still available at a
- 1:00:14retailer, you'd be tempted to pick another one up, you know,
- 1:00:19Right, Rich? That's me and Mal Tubercula.
- 1:00:21What you got? So despite all the cool new
- 1:00:23ones, I've actually gone for one of the old ones.
- 1:00:25So I have gone for Mali, that's really Boric.
- 1:00:28I've gone for Morglis. Yeah, I love more.
- 1:00:35Who's? Due an update.
- 1:00:38Sorry, say again. She's due an update I think.
- 1:00:40She is absolutely yes. But to me, again, this is like a
- 1:00:44really good representation of a skeleton.
- 1:00:46So when I think of like skeletons as like, you know,
- 1:00:49long dead civilizations rising up again.
- 1:00:52So with that, that massive headdress she's got that, you
- 1:00:55know, looks like a priestess from a long dead civilization.
- 1:00:58So I'm you know, that really works for me in terms of that.
- 1:01:01I think she's on the first ones with bare feet as well.
- 1:01:03I know the other the 2, the skelly builder two had them as
- 1:01:07well. 2.0 had them, but I love the skeleton bare feet just adds
- 1:01:10a level of creepiness the way more so than the the 1.0 bare
- 1:01:16feet. They're like bare feet, whereas
- 1:01:17the little ones just like no creepy, creepy feet.
- 1:01:22You're. Learning something about rich
- 1:01:24listeners. The bio as well, and that's part
- 1:01:29of what I've enjoyed about doing this.
- 1:01:30Actually, she's going through some of these BIOS again, she
- 1:01:32rules with a resigned coldness, which I like to think is how I
- 1:01:35manage at work. That's a joke.
- 1:01:42I I I don't imagine that. Even if you don't, that's the
- 1:01:46yeah. And I love the fact that she's
- 1:01:50got the ability through the eyes of her soldiers as well, so she
- 1:01:53can almost like organise what's happening because she can see
- 1:01:55through their eyes. Which is both creepy but very
- 1:01:57cool. So what does someone with
- 1:02:00resigned cold and a stalk like? Is it kind of monotone?
- 1:02:04Is it? Yes, it'd be monitored.
- 1:02:05It'd be monotone. Monotone but vicious.
- 1:02:09Yeah. Yeah, OK.
- 1:02:12They'll be talking to you in a monotone way while they are
- 1:02:15breaking your phone in half in front of them.
- 1:02:17That sort of stuff, you know? Or while just leaving boxes of
- 1:02:22stuff, you know, for you to go through, you know, to kind of do
- 1:02:27whatever bullshit they want you to do.
- 1:02:29Yeah, you've done really well this year, but we do have to
- 1:02:31make cuts. Here's the box by that sort of
- 1:02:35thing, you know? Oh, OK, a skeleton that was.
- 1:02:41That was easy enough in the end. Demon.
- 1:02:44Here's a good one. What you got for Demon it?
- 1:02:49Might have been considered cheating, but I have gone with
- 1:02:52the idea that a gin is a demon, so I have gone with Callazir.
- 1:02:59OK, awesome figure Genies are just cool or gin are just very.
- 1:03:07A very cool idea, very cool sort of mythological creatures.
- 1:03:13Yeah, just. Big guy as.
- 1:03:17Well, big guy, Yeah, another brute scale one.
- 1:03:18And the brute scale really has brought something new and cool
- 1:03:23to the figures. I mean, we talked about Ganesha
- 1:03:26earlier. I think he's brute scaliness
- 1:03:28adds to how cool he is. And yeah.
- 1:03:31Yeah. I think down the line when we do
- 1:03:33this again at another point, there might be a brute scale
- 1:03:36category. There's more of those to choose
- 1:03:39from, yeah. I'm really looking forward to
- 1:03:41colours here as well because they said they were going to do.
- 1:03:44Is it Johannam, the other gin who's got the smoke trail?
- 1:03:48They said they said they're going to do that for calories
- 1:03:50over the different cars. I'm really looking forward to.
- 1:03:52Getting Yeah, that's right. You can get that as a maybe some
- 1:03:55sort of an accessory pack, right.
- 1:03:59Rich, what did you demon up? One of my all time favorite
- 1:04:03figures is Belfigal. Yeah, great choice.
- 1:04:07I love this guy. He's just this is what a demon
- 1:04:10is. This is if you know, if you ask
- 1:04:11most people to draw a demon, it would be parts of this that
- 1:04:14would be strongly in there is red.
- 1:04:17Red always looks really good for a nasty demon.
- 1:04:19He's got a giant melon of a head.
- 1:04:21He doesn't want a demon with a giant melon of a head.
- 1:04:24It's massive. The horns are massive.
- 1:04:25It's like, you know, it's what you want to say.
- 1:04:28He's a native. Now the the bio said native of
- 1:04:32the prison realm. Now I want to know is, is that a
- 1:04:34realm that's just a prison, or is it just the realm they were
- 1:04:38imprisoned with it? I'll have to ask Eric.
- 1:04:40Maybe that at some point Even so.
- 1:04:43Place. If it's the former, can we have
- 1:04:45the play set please? Yes, absolutely yes.
- 1:04:50And we're coming. Put the cabal trolls in a mocked
- 1:04:53up version at Legions concert. Just sit in the corner of the
- 1:04:56way. Little portal to put them into.
- 1:05:00Yeah, he can tear portals into in the fabric of reality.
- 1:05:03I mean, you'd want to say how come it's taken so long to get
- 1:05:05back? So we can do that.
- 1:05:06But that's a minor nitpick. If I was a, you know, a resigned
- 1:05:09coldness manager giving him an interview, you'd be like, dude,
- 1:05:13seriously, it took a bit long. And I also love the fact he's
- 1:05:17got a few de Corgo. So he's not just turned up.
- 1:05:19He's like, he's turned up and it's immediately the right beef.
- 1:05:22There's beef between us, dude. Here we go.
- 1:05:26Yeah, I can't see that ending well for anybody really.
- 1:05:28No, someone. Someone's going to die horribly.
- 1:05:30I'm not sure which one of them it'll be, but someone will die
- 1:05:32horribly on that. Yeah, actually, is Gorgo a
- 1:05:35demon? We don't know anyway.
- 1:05:38We don't know. Yeah, he's.
- 1:05:40Something though, and. He could have fit in the night
- 1:05:42category and obviously, yeah, I went with Aaron Tear.
- 1:05:48So a bit kind of obvious, but he's a demon.
- 1:05:53Good one. Love him.
- 1:05:55Great figure. Some unique parts.
- 1:05:58Maybe not as fancy fancy as some of the later Dark fours, but I
- 1:06:03think still quite a fancy figure.
- 1:06:07Quite a lot of unique parts with the armor and stuff and.
- 1:06:13The muscle doesn't he though of the Dark 4, which I think he's
- 1:06:17what he's meant to do, isn't he's meant to be the big beefy.
- 1:06:20I'll rip your head off. Yeah, if we ever got a reissue,
- 1:06:23I'd like it in brute scale, I think.
- 1:06:24Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 1:06:27Yeah. Or even just the brute scale
- 1:06:29torsos and you can have these weedy little legs.
- 1:06:35Make him just look. Just look.
- 1:06:38The guy that skipped leg day. It would make him look scarier,
- 1:06:50right? One of my favorite character
- 1:06:53categories here. Magic user.
- 1:06:56What? We got their mouth.
- 1:06:58So I had to stick with me old favorite.
- 1:07:02In some ways she's one of the worst figures, but she looks
- 1:07:05amazing. And that's Harry Serpent Spire
- 1:07:10again, another awesome bio. She's a badass.
- 1:07:16Basically she's, you know, super tied in with the origin of the
- 1:07:21the convocation of Basilia. Yeah.
- 1:07:26And as I say, whilst being one of the worst figures also to
- 1:07:30look at so. Explain that.
- 1:07:31Explain that. Because explain why she's so
- 1:07:34practicality. Yeah, she's got tiny little
- 1:07:37hands that don't hold her, her staff.
- 1:07:40So her staff spends a lot of time falling out of her hand.
- 1:07:43And the problem is because the staff is so thick, it's also now
- 1:07:46stretched her hand that it will never seem to go back.
- 1:07:49She's also a 2.0 who are they historically have and she's one
- 1:07:55of the old ones. They have the worst ankles
- 1:07:58because she's got this beautiful headdress that's really heavy.
- 1:08:02Her little ankles don't like to stand up as.
- 1:08:05Good as the headdress is, it's not something it's going to go
- 1:08:08with his ankles. So he's just like Bing, Bing,
- 1:08:11Yeah. Yeah, so she looks beautiful,
- 1:08:13but damn, she does not like to stand up on her shelf.
- 1:08:17Yeah, she might. Weapon, she might if she was
- 1:08:21released these days, a lot better.
- 1:08:23She might have had a few more revisions at the factory.
- 1:08:28Yeah, I have my hair in A4 horsemen stand.
- 1:08:31I think that's the only way to ease your pain on her in that
- 1:08:36Right Rich, what you got? Arizac, which surprised me
- 1:08:39slightly when was coming out. It's like another 2.0 Wizards.
- 1:08:43It's like now. Not bothered, but actually this
- 1:08:45guy is brilliant. He's got just that, the perfect
- 1:08:50evil wizard look, especially with the screaming head.
- 1:08:52I mean, the other head's good, but the screaming head just
- 1:08:55gives it so much personality. Sure does.
- 1:08:59Yeah. And the fact these two points
- 1:09:01are because he, because he's so old and we discussed last time
- 1:09:03that he might be very, very old for all we know.
- 1:09:07You know that work, that sort of size thing works there.
- 1:09:09And the awesome chess piece piece, it's just, it's just
- 1:09:13really good. Just ties it all in really well.
- 1:09:17And again, the bio you know is a cruel and devious sorcerer bent
- 1:09:20on prom, promulgating the world of word epoxys and constantly
- 1:09:27thirsting for more knowledge, more spells, and more power.
- 1:09:30I mean, that's what you want from an evil wizard, isn't it?
- 1:09:32It's never happy. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:09:34He's like a like a modern day billionaire basically.
- 1:09:38Yes. You know, constantly looking for
- 1:09:44more, more, more, more, even though they have plenty.
- 1:09:47And I went for Balaam. Classic.
- 1:09:52Yeah. Ancient magic coursing through
- 1:09:57his veins. And he can speak to animals and
- 1:10:01harness the powers of animals. I mean, what more do you want,
- 1:10:05you know? And he he has been instrumental
- 1:10:13in building the ever growing mystical force that emanates
- 1:10:16from a magical stronghold atop the Evergreen Mountains.
- 1:10:20So we ever heard of what that's about or?
- 1:10:24We haven't actually know. So that would be something fun
- 1:10:28to find out and a great figure love their armor and head sculpt
- 1:10:34is great. You know, could certainly be
- 1:10:40released in legacies or the updated version that would be
- 1:10:43even more cool because you could use soft goods and maybe some
- 1:10:47updated armor but. Different head sculpt.
- 1:10:50Yeah, maybe. Yeah.
- 1:10:53You know cat hands as opposed to gloved hands.
- 1:10:57You know cat feet as opposed to. Sorry, I'm laughing.
- 1:11:00I just immediately had jazz hands in my head.
- 1:11:02Then when you said that, I don't know why.
- 1:11:04Very jazz hands, everybody. Yeah, I suppose cats have cats
- 1:11:09have paws, don't they? On the top hat, so you could
- 1:11:13pull a rabbit out the top hat. I mean, he's not that sort of
- 1:11:16magician, but that would be cool as well.
- 1:11:18Sorry I've gone off track. I apologize.
- 1:11:19To do little so you'd have all sorts of animals.
- 1:11:22He would, wouldn't he? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:26Right. Favorite female.
- 1:11:30We're not talking about Kelly Brook here.
- 1:11:31Or anyone. I went with the beauty be I kind
- 1:11:37of beautiful. Beautiful.
- 1:11:40Yeah. I don't know why I haven't been.
- 1:11:41Able to say before this evening, so I'm happy I've also gone for
- 1:11:46her as well, yeah. Oh, you have.
- 1:11:47Wow. Amazing figure.
- 1:11:50Yeah. So tell us, tell us what?
- 1:11:53Why her above the others then? Oh, it's got lots of females in
- 1:11:57the minds. Oh, you got my you started.
- 1:12:01I think I love the head sculpt I've I've gone with the one
- 1:12:07without the nose just because it's a bit gruesome.
- 1:12:09A bit different because she's a bit pretty with the nose in a
- 1:12:13weird way. Comes all kitted out with
- 1:12:18different undead animals to the fact that she's a beastmaster,
- 1:12:22so got kind of that Valak call to her as well.
- 1:12:26Beastmasters are always a fun character type and trope, aren't
- 1:12:30they in the in? The fantasy, yeah.
- 1:12:33Absolutely, yeah. So I suppose in some respects
- 1:12:36it's actually partly due to the to the accessories.
- 1:12:40But again, that head sculpt is probably one of the he's he's,
- 1:12:44he's an awesome head sculpt. So yeah.
- 1:12:48New Ridge. Similar sort of things that head
- 1:12:50sculpt, particularly the one without the nose is just a a
- 1:12:54work of art. It's it's amazing and looks
- 1:12:56really good and I think it works really well with the blue skin
- 1:12:58tone as well. I think the combination of the
- 1:13:00two work really well together. But similar to Mal, I think the
- 1:13:03the addition of all the skeletal animals, I think definitely
- 1:13:06bumps her up in my in my ranking, you know, like the
- 1:13:10chimera is amazing, but the snake in the cage is amazing.
- 1:13:13The bird, you know, there's just so much cool stuff.
- 1:13:15The baby Unicorn skull, it's just like.
- 1:13:19That snake in the cage is a little bit of I don't think
- 1:13:22enough has been said about what a little bit of it awesome
- 1:13:24engineering has gone on there. It you know, the way it fits in
- 1:13:28the back, it balance perfectly. It doesn't.
- 1:13:32It doesn't pull her backwards either.
- 1:13:34The way it's been done, it's really, really good.
- 1:13:38Yeah, and her bio talks about her being in charge of other
- 1:13:42unnatural monsters that haven't been seen as well.
- 1:13:44So we've got the tuberculine, we've got the ones that come
- 1:13:47with her, who opens a door for all sorts of other stuff.
- 1:13:49That's it. Which is like an evil blam
- 1:13:51almost. Yes yeah, controlling the bad
- 1:13:56creatures. Any any other females that were
- 1:14:01close? Oh, there was, but who?
- 1:14:05I mean, Herod obviously comes into that for me for all the
- 1:14:09reasons I talked about, why I used as the magic wielder.
- 1:14:14Never. He'll be in there when she comes
- 1:14:15out. Yeah.
- 1:14:19For me, it was only really balloon if I was people like I
- 1:14:22mean fancy as a cool character, but she was very much in the the
- 1:14:25sort of pious side of things. I try not try.
- 1:14:27I was trying to keep everything separate on double counting
- 1:14:29everything so. Yeah, OK, I went with Hera.
- 1:14:34I think I can't add much more than Al said, but yeah, as a
- 1:14:37character design, fantastic. Wouldn't mind getting a revised
- 1:14:42version of Hera. I think we will.
- 1:14:45To, to just address those problems.
- 1:14:47And I think she could, you know, she could be a character that if
- 1:14:50you look at, you know, Ganesha with the soft goods and, and
- 1:14:54this kind of stuff like this kind of a scarf and you know,
- 1:14:58you're gonna say the. Belly for a second, John.
- 1:14:59It's like, that's harsh. She's been on the doughnuts
- 1:15:02since the first one. It's not wrong with the little
- 1:15:04pouch and. Oh, nothing wrong with that.
- 1:15:06No, no, I'm just saying it'd be quite a change in the original.
- 1:15:08Yeah, yeah. Yeah, there would have to be.
- 1:15:11I think that would have to be mentioned in the story.
- 1:15:13What, you know what developed there?
- 1:15:16But yeah, para would be cool for version 2, but is cool as is
- 1:15:21now. But put her in the stand.
- 1:15:23I think you'd be happier. And right, a very cool category
- 1:15:29here. Anthropomorphic.
- 1:15:32This one could go a number of directions.
- 1:15:36What we got now? This is another one that's
- 1:15:39really, really hard, possibly the hardest because I actually
- 1:15:44really love all the creatures and all the, you know, the.
- 1:15:47We we all love our animals. They're not.
- 1:15:49Pro morphic characters are some of the best, and I think there's
- 1:15:55probably a little bit of recency bias in my answer, but partly
- 1:15:59because we're getting more and more parts, so we're getting
- 1:16:02more and more animaly creatures. So my actual answer, if we were
- 1:16:07getting outside mythos would be the Monkey King.
- 1:16:11But if we're just doing mythos in the way that we are, it's the
- 1:16:14Ninian infantry. I think that will change to
- 1:16:20Mindua, Mindad, Minduajay the Cackler when he comes out, but
- 1:16:25at the moment it's the Ninian infantry.
- 1:16:30Yeah, I think we we've covered her Ninian a few times.
- 1:16:34But yeah, it's just such a cool looking figure and a cool bio,
- 1:16:42so. Exciting what they're going to
- 1:16:43do with all those Ninian characters.
- 1:16:45I think it's. Going to be Yeah.
- 1:16:47I mean, the bio talks about a race of diverse reptilians, so
- 1:16:51that again, there's already, you know, you do all sorts of
- 1:16:54different reptile heads. Yeah.
- 1:16:55And we? Get the one in the in the
- 1:16:57retailer wave as well that's coming.
- 1:16:59So can't wait to get that one really.
- 1:17:01Cool, he looks amazing. Right, Rich, what you got?
- 1:17:07It was an infantry for me as well.
- 1:17:08Minion, yeah. There's like Mal, I could pick
- 1:17:12every single one in this category.
- 1:17:13They're all, they're all awesome.
- 1:17:16But I just love, you know, I've been banging on the snake men
- 1:17:18and lizard men for so long that I couldn't pick anything else.
- 1:17:22And the way they did this, the colour scheme just absolutely
- 1:17:26nailed the colour scheme. You know, the Aztecs or vibes to
- 1:17:29it as well. The fact it's got a little tail
- 1:17:32that is by P Yeah. It's just everything which is
- 1:17:34perfect. I Can't Sing the praises enough.
- 1:17:38Yeah, it's, it's a great figure. Yeah, I'm so happy I got a few
- 1:17:43of him. And yeah, the more the merrier,
- 1:17:46I think when it comes to the union.
- 1:17:48I went with Thistlethorn, cool looking figure and I love the
- 1:17:57colour of his armor. I love the stuff you get with
- 1:18:02him, like the green sword Horseman is amazing.
- 1:18:06And I think the size of his goblin scale, so that really
- 1:18:10suits the character type. And also the bio is just
- 1:18:17fantastic. So he's a he's a relic master,
- 1:18:21so basically like a collector like us almost, you know, which
- 1:18:26is just a really cool and not fascinated with ancient effort
- 1:18:32at weapons and artifacts from an early age.
- 1:18:34He has always had a predilection for spotting and acquiring the
- 1:18:39most precious objects. So fantastic.
- 1:18:46I wonder if Snag is hired to help him acquire some of those
- 1:18:48pressure. Snag is sent into the the more
- 1:18:52dangerous areas of ethos yeah yeah.
- 1:18:55Played like a bounty hunter in Star Wars it.
- 1:18:59Feels like it could be time to to get some more fuzz mugs.
- 1:19:04Really, doesn't it? Different.
- 1:19:05Yeah, maybe with a couple of new sculpts and stuff like that.
- 1:19:09So that would be awesome, right? We're on to mount.
- 1:19:16So what we got there? This.
- 1:19:20Is another one that's going to change when we have something
- 1:19:22else in hand. Which Bodvar will become my
- 1:19:24favorite, I've got no doubt. But at the moment it's cannabis
- 1:19:30that I never saw that skeleton horse coming, as you guys know,
- 1:19:33And I get reminded by Jeremy every so often.
- 1:19:40But it's. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely
- 1:19:43fantastic. Yeah.
- 1:19:46Yeah, I mean, we reviewed them recently on our an acronymous
- 1:19:49episode and yeah, it's just such a cool, cool figure.
- 1:19:55Yeah. And you can have, I mean, you
- 1:19:57ever heard of them, Rich? I don't got five, Yeah.
- 1:20:03No. No, I have a plan about how I'm
- 1:20:07going to display them, but yeah, yeah, let's take even 5 for
- 1:20:12those to get less room than baby.
- 1:20:13He's big. He's a chunky boy, as my
- 1:20:16daughter would say. Right.
- 1:20:21What's yours, Rich, then? So I went with my best
- 1:20:25representation from out and that is Bishop for me.
- 1:20:30So, you know, it's the it's the traditional White Horse sort of
- 1:20:34things with that timeless sort of feel to it.
- 1:20:36It's got a dead horse head as well, which very much adds to
- 1:20:40it. We know all know, we thought
- 1:20:41before about the horses. Horses are great.
- 1:20:43The soft goods are really cool as well.
- 1:20:45It adds so much to that horse. And a nice little back story.
- 1:20:50Although having read it again today, I am wondering whether
- 1:20:52Bishop was in fact faking the lameness to trying to try and
- 1:20:57get out of going to war. And then you heard the stable
- 1:20:59master say, well, we're going to kill him in the morning if he's
- 1:21:01still lame. He's like, no, I'm fine, I'm
- 1:21:03fine. Dancing across the state.
- 1:21:07Yeah, exactly. Blind dancing in the next
- 1:21:10morning. Yeah, I'm fine.
- 1:21:11Don't worry about me. And well, you doubled up with me
- 1:21:17because I had Bishop as well for all those reasons.
- 1:21:21I just think it's the best that cannabis is amazing as well.
- 1:21:24I'm so glad you you picked him now and because it was
- 1:21:28definitely close between those two for me.
- 1:21:30But yeah, Bishop with the soft goods and everything and just a
- 1:21:35few mentions for just a few little nitpicks I might have had
- 1:21:38with the horses, like the little foot calipers sometimes falling
- 1:21:42out the saddle and the the few things with the how the harness
- 1:21:48attached and and stuff all sorted in Bishop.
- 1:21:52So I think that's why he's the best horse, the best man so far
- 1:21:58for me. No, you could categorize it
- 1:22:03differently and go, you know, what's the coolest looking or
- 1:22:06whatever, and then you could get different.
- 1:22:08But I think I had had to go Bishop and right assassin.
- 1:22:15And so we're in the realm of the Sons of the Red Star here for
- 1:22:20for the most part. What did you go with now?
- 1:22:23I think it's still, I mean, I couldn't really think who else
- 1:22:26were assassins, although I suppose any one of them really,
- 1:22:29aren't they the way they operate?
- 1:22:31But I think it's I think I'm now really thinking, but I've gone
- 1:22:36with I've gone with Grisha the slitherer again, cool sort of
- 1:22:43bio looks great looks for a long time has looked very different
- 1:22:49to what else was about with that helmet and with the colours.
- 1:22:55Cool bio that's sort of still very mysterious.
- 1:22:57We don't actually know what's under the under the mask and all
- 1:23:01that and under the clothes. Yeah.
- 1:23:05He he, he would strike fear into you if he suddenly showed up, I
- 1:23:10think. Absolutely.
- 1:23:14What was your? What were you close to changing
- 1:23:18it to or? Thinking about it now, I'm
- 1:23:21guessing. I've forgotten his name.
- 1:23:27The the the main character. Oh, Scapular.
- 1:23:30A scapular, especially the new version, would be an assassin
- 1:23:34with his blowpipe, wouldn't he say?
- 1:23:36He's probably going to be, you know, Yeah.
- 1:23:39Help there. Rich.
- 1:23:42This is my one breaking the in hand thing so it's disbitar.
- 1:23:46Yes, I was close. I was close.
- 1:23:48I'm. So excited about this guy, not
- 1:23:50just because we helped introduce him, he he's just so cool.
- 1:23:54I actually was, look, I was looking at the picture again
- 1:23:57today on the website and I was like, Oh my God, this finger is
- 1:24:00amazing. It's just incredible.
- 1:24:02It's got like his forearms, a scorpion tail.
- 1:24:05He looks insectoid. He's got two different heads
- 1:24:07with four different looks. It's just like, you know, you
- 1:24:10need 4 as a minimum just because of all that sort of stuff.
- 1:24:13He's, he's really good, but the bio, you know, he's from a nest
- 1:24:17of assassins. He's very reckless with his
- 1:24:20assassinations. Again, could be me if I was an
- 1:24:23assassin, I wouldn't have the patience to wait for ages.
- 1:24:26But ah, sorry. And he's made it known he wants
- 1:24:33to plant Grisha. And Grisha has always been my
- 1:24:37favorite up to this point. So I really like the idea of the
- 1:24:39two of them getting to a smackdown.
- 1:24:43I went with Lord for Terrace because of the bio element.
- 1:24:48He's he's this rich assassin, so he doesn't really need to do it.
- 1:24:54He's doing it more for the, you know, for the buzz of it, for
- 1:24:57the kind of and obviously for it's earning him even more money
- 1:25:04and he's a loose affiliate of the sons of the Red Star.
- 1:25:08So you know, he's definitely more of an assassin for hire or
- 1:25:13hoping to overthrow Scapular. So you know that that could that
- 1:25:19could be a story element that. He sounds a bit like the
- 1:25:23billionaires of nowadays. I don't need anything else
- 1:25:26growing and keep going and I'm going to stick my nose in where
- 1:25:29it's not needed. And yeah, there we go.
- 1:25:32But yeah, sounds like a character that could be on
- 1:25:34succession or something like that.
- 1:25:36Yeah, yeah, definitely. So, yeah.
- 1:25:39So I'm sure it doesn't fully represent Joe Federi in, you
- 1:25:45know, it's more of a tribute, you know, in the nicest possible
- 1:25:49way, right. We're down to our final
- 1:25:51category. And this is the big one.
- 1:25:53You can choose from the entire pool of characters.
- 1:25:57So now in #20 on wildcards, counting down to the moment.
- 1:26:03I, I, it seems we mentioned this one.
- 1:26:05I was like, right, he's going to go here and it's Ray go in some
- 1:26:10ways he's he's actually the age of the character shows in the
- 1:26:15figure good with his parts and that, but he just looks so cool
- 1:26:19with those colours and obviously he feels like he was a little
- 1:26:23bit of a nod towards you, even though he's quite different, but
- 1:26:28certain colours are similar. He's bio.
- 1:26:34I think he's actually a really cool bio.
- 1:26:37And and and now he's been moved into that association with which
- 1:26:43one is it? What's his name?
- 1:26:47Everyone. Here we go again.
- 1:26:48Erzius. Erzius here.
- 1:26:51Yeah. He's he's getting cooler.
- 1:26:57He's Yeah, I really like him. Wasn't he House of the Noble
- 1:27:01Bear recently? He was as well already.
- 1:27:03That's part of what? A lot.
- 1:27:04Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which is why I've had him and
- 1:27:08then got rid of him three times. It's like he's cool.
- 1:27:10He's a nice little boy. You're so cool, you're so good,
- 1:27:13trader. Currently stood in front of my
- 1:27:16Ninians. Which?
- 1:27:18Isn't right at all. That's cool, yeah.
- 1:27:21Colour wise there. Yeah, Yeah, right, Rich.
- 1:27:25It's foreigners for me. Oh cool.
- 1:27:28An older figure, definitely. And you know, parts wise it's
- 1:27:31not maybe not, you know, most glamorous, but that head sculpt.
- 1:27:35I want them to do a lot more of that sort of thing.
- 1:27:38It's not a tree man, but it's got that sort of vibe to it.
- 1:27:42And they could do all sorts of cool things with feet and hands
- 1:27:44and that sort of stuff. And you know, just ties in so
- 1:27:48well with a flock and you know, being an elemental character and
- 1:27:51that sort of stuff. I should really like him.
- 1:27:53He I think he was when I got my 12 advent of decay in stock sale
- 1:27:58figures through which is my first ever big order.
- 1:28:01I believe he was the first one I opened.
- 1:28:02So he's got a very fond place in my heart.
- 1:28:07Yeah. And just that you know again
- 1:28:08that he's got the ability to manipulate the tree borne
- 1:28:11structure of the castle Silverhorn.
- 1:28:13That's extremely cool and he's ancient and I love ancient
- 1:28:18characters. It's hence the the thing he
- 1:28:22caught you mentioned earlier sorting.
- 1:28:24I love the idea of people have been, you know, these characters
- 1:28:26have been around for a long. Time.
- 1:28:28Yes, a long time. And what, what's their back
- 1:28:31story? What do they bring, that sort of
- 1:28:32thing. So it is Mr. 4, yes.
- 1:28:35Great pick, great pick. And so for me, this is where I
- 1:28:40get the Ninian infantry in. Still one of my favourite
- 1:28:44figures in the line. Well, not still.
- 1:28:45I mean, it's only since November, but yeah, nothing has
- 1:28:50turned my head that much since. Yeah, just a great character.
- 1:28:56Another Convocation of Basilia member, which is always a plus.
- 1:29:00So the Ninians, I think you you kind of covered it when you guys
- 1:29:05were talking about it in that in that other category.
- 1:29:09But yeah, just a great figure and a great little surprise that
- 1:29:14we had last year. So, yeah.
- 1:29:17And I'm sure we'll become one of those characters that's hard to
- 1:29:21get expensive and secondary market.
- 1:29:23And yeah, oh, Rich's eyes are starting to light up there.
- 1:29:30No, my unions are staying. They're not going anywhere.
- 1:29:33OK, we hold you to that. It's that that's making me wary
- 1:29:38of doing anything with my my last Oh, I've got the three
- 1:29:42different setups, but then I've got one.
- 1:29:44I'm like, oh, I could do. And I'm like, oh, I would.
- 1:29:47I already feel guilty about turning.
- 1:29:51Or you might get a 2. .0 into a metal skeleton that should have
- 1:29:54saved it for. We might get a more builder type
- 1:29:58snake dude at some point. I wouldn't be you could also
- 1:30:02pick it up from the retailer. So that retailer want to do
- 1:30:06custom right. Well, guys that was that was a
- 1:30:09lot of fun and we got through them.
- 1:30:12I wasn't sure would we, would we have enough time?
- 1:30:15But we yeah, we're, we're getting good at this gig
- 1:30:18finally, after 113 episodes. We don't.
- 1:30:24We don't talk in circles too much, at least.
- 1:30:28So I'm still hitting the microphone every now and again.
- 1:30:32Now at least you know it's, at least you know now it's, it's a
- 1:30:35problem, yeah. You know, I mean the different
- 1:30:37seat as well. I'm blaming the seat.
- 1:30:38Nothing to do with my innate. Well, look, we have to look
- 1:30:40after your back. You know, your comfort and your
- 1:30:42back is the same thing, or is the most important thing.
- 1:30:45Yeah. How's the fish tank?
- 1:30:47What's the update there for for the fish?
- 1:30:49Tank going very well yes the the noise volume might had a little
- 1:30:52fiddle with it and that's dropped a little bit so that's.
- 1:30:54Good. Wow.
- 1:30:55So the little tap and I'm banging on the top of the TV
- 1:30:58thing worked. Basically, not quite, no.
- 1:31:00I turned it all off for about 10 minutes, which, you know, not
- 1:31:05advised that much necessarily if you're keeping fish and all the
- 1:31:07bacteria needs to be kept alive, etcetera.
- 1:31:08But it's like, Nope, let it let all the water just get through
- 1:31:11everything again and turned it back on.
- 1:31:12And it's, although it's, excuse me, still noisy, it's much
- 1:31:15quieter than it was so. Right.
- 1:31:17Might be a bit of an air bubble or.
- 1:31:19Something so I'll soup to how that's going and the new fish a
- 1:31:22delight. But frankly, I've got 10 of them
- 1:31:24and they're zipping around the tank all over the place.
- 1:31:26They feed like piranhas. I'm half expecting to come out
- 1:31:29of my hand. I did.
- 1:31:30I got home with 10 new fish in a bag, walked into the living room
- 1:31:34where the tank is, and there was a fish upside down, literally
- 1:31:37upside down on the bottom of the tank.
- 1:31:39I was like, oh, I knew it was all my favourites.
- 1:31:42I was like, well, I've got the new fish, there's nothing I can
- 1:31:45do here. And they all look fine.
- 1:31:47They match one of those things. So yeah, hike the body out, pop
- 1:31:52the new ones in. So yeah, but I thoroughly enjoy
- 1:31:55the tank. It's so big compared to the like
- 1:31:58Americans would think it was a tiny tank still because it's
- 1:32:00like 50 gallons, which for them is quite small.
- 1:32:03But for me that's a decent sized tank.
- 1:32:05It's. A bit of work to to keep it
- 1:32:08maintained and all that. And do you sometimes just sit
- 1:32:12there and chill and look at the tank?
- 1:32:14Yes, I will do more so again now that the sounds dropped a little
- 1:32:18bit, but I'm still sitting there glaring and it's so noisy.
- 1:32:21But yeah, it's, it's, that's part of the joy of fish keeping
- 1:32:24for me is that it's just relaxing my two things that
- 1:32:27really chill me out in life at the cinema and staring at fish
- 1:32:31tanks. They're the proper 2 relaxing
- 1:32:34things for me. Like I went to, I went to cinema
- 1:32:36last night and watched 2 films, neither brilliant, but it was
- 1:32:42still great. It was dark, just chilled,
- 1:32:44relaxed. What do you want to see?
- 1:32:48I went and see the accountant too.
- 1:32:51OK, I want to see that. I'd never seen the original so I
- 1:32:53had to Google what happened in the first one to get a grip.
- 1:32:56Oh. It was a continuation.
- 1:32:58It wasn't a separate. It wasn't a.
- 1:32:59Continuation. But it was it was the same.
- 1:33:00We're virtually all the same characters.
- 1:33:02So I had to have a rough idea about what happened in the first
- 1:33:04one, which helped. But the film itself was two out
- 1:33:08of five. It was just mere.
- 1:33:10Who's the late character there? Ben Affleck.
- 1:33:13Ben Affleck. So John Bernthal, who plays the
- 1:33:16Punisher is, plays his brother and he's there.
- 1:33:18And he was, he was brilliant. I don't normally rate him
- 1:33:21particularly as an actor, but he he displayed some proper acting
- 1:33:24jobs. I really.
- 1:33:26Like the first one. So that's a bit of a shame.
- 1:33:29You might like this one more than I did then, Ma.
- 1:33:32Yeah. And then I watched Warfare,
- 1:33:35which is the new one It's set in.
- 1:33:38It's based on a true story. So it's like real time.
- 1:33:41So it's like an hour and a half. And it's this Navy SEAL team in
- 1:33:45Iraq, Yeah, in Iraq in 2006. And they're like, they're like a
- 1:33:53sniper overview for these Marines sort of thing.
- 1:33:56And then they come under attack themselves.
- 1:33:58So it's all done in real time. They've done it.
- 1:34:01You know, they've got all the Navy Seals, like 3 of the ones
- 1:34:03involved in the incident they're advising and that sort of thing.
- 1:34:07So if you're watching it as like, it's almost like a
- 1:34:09documentary basically. You know, the line.
- 1:34:12It's not, you know, you don't watch it going, OK, that's a
- 1:34:15clever line. And that's because it's oh,
- 1:34:17there's a cat love it because it's, it's not that.
- 1:34:20It's just them using the words they would use in it.
- 1:34:23So it's very well done. It almost deafened me.
- 1:34:25It was so loud. Oh, wow.
- 1:34:27Which makes me seem very old. But honestly, God, I was in the
- 1:34:30cinema going this is a bit oh, that radio chatter is a bit
- 1:34:33loud. My old man is they're struggling
- 1:34:35a bit with it. Yeah, now there's been, I've
- 1:34:37been in a couple of movies that I've thought this, this can't,
- 1:34:40but they've got to have this turned up to.
- 1:34:42Yeah, they must have had it too loud.
- 1:34:44Oh, there's an IED went off at one point.
- 1:34:45It was like my Adroms have just gone OK.
- 1:34:48There you go. It's you're talking behind your
- 1:34:50seat. Yeah.
- 1:34:52So, yeah, I mean, I jumped, you know, you weren't expecting it,
- 1:34:55and I properly jumped. But no, if it was a documentary
- 1:35:00about how the Navy Seal's operate, you'd probably
- 1:35:02thoroughly enjoy it. But as a film, it was incredibly
- 1:35:05well. It's one of those films,
- 1:35:06incredibly well done. We come out and we just go,
- 1:35:08yeah. Have you seen sinners?
- 1:35:10Yet I have not. That was one of the options,
- 1:35:15yeah, because I wanted to watch 2 back-to-back and those two
- 1:35:18worked out best timing wise, but it's in as good.
- 1:35:20I think you'll like sin if yeah. Excellent.
- 1:35:22He's got Delroy Lindo in as well, isn't he?
- 1:35:24And I love him. He's a really excellent actor.
- 1:35:26Well, it gives off vibes of in terms of tone more like dusk
- 1:35:34till dawn and 30 days of night in terms of the style.
- 1:35:39But obviously with I say style, that's not the right word I'm
- 1:35:42looking for. But in terms of the way
- 1:35:45characters are represented and all that.
- 1:35:47But then of course, Ryan Coogler of doing what he does and
- 1:35:51obviously reference to a lot of black history and all that.
- 1:35:55And it is a really, really good really.
- 1:35:58Oh excellent, I might be going again next week with the mate to
- 1:36:00cinema so I will recommend that. Cool.
- 1:36:05Well, in the meantime, you know, put the your Allegiance podcast
- 1:36:09in your headphones and sit there and look at your fish tank and
- 1:36:15listen to the dodge, the tones of Mal, the interruptions of
- 1:36:20John and Rich going off in various wonderful tangents.
- 1:36:30Remember everybody, stay safe out there.
- 1:36:32Wonderful tangents are brilliant, unless you're driving
- 1:36:34and you lose focus in the crack. So stay safe.
