- 1:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't want to go, I don't want to go.
- 1:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And this can pertain to a lot of things.
- 1:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, we're only gonna uh due to time constraints, we're not gonna be able to cover every single one.
- 1:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh we're just gonna try to hit the the highlights.
- 1:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And uh this morning uh the I don't want to go really came front and center.
- 1:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh I I laugh at it now because uh was I was able to work work through it, but uh so the I don't I don't want to go.
- 2:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What does that pertain to?
- 2:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And what's that have to do with mental health and and all that?
- 2:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let's get into it.
- 2:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I don't want to go.
- 2:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I didn't want to go to the gym today.
- 2:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I just didn't I just didn't want to.
- 2:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Wasn't that I don't like the uh effects of you know uh a little bit of extra boost of positive energy after completing a workout, no matter how big or how small the workout is, if you do one exercise or ten, uh if you're training to be in a bodybuilding contest or not, just uh just moving the body.
- 2:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh yeah, you as you know, you'll probably see Lucy.
- 2:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: She's she's gone back to being uh sometimes climbing on my shoulders and back.
- 3:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And uh so you see something going on, you're like, what's going on?
- 3:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What's behind Justin?
- 3:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh that's who it is.
- 3:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And she might walk in front of the camera.
- 3:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: She has a tendency to do that, but she's a dog, we love her.
- 3:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so yeah, the the gym.
- 3:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I didn't I didn't want to go.
- 3:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I really didn't want to go.
- 3:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I woke up and I was still very, very tired.
- 3:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I I first was thinking, do I have the energy to to go?
- 3:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And this usually happens.
- 3:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, I guess I'll find out this winter time because this winter, right, at least here in the United States, and but the state and the area that I live in, you know, we get snow, we get really cold temperatures from time to time, we get ice, we get a little bit of everything.
- 4:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it'll be interesting to see how my mind and body and spirit and and all that um really really comes together or not.
- 4:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, but today I I didn't I didn't I didn't want to go.
- 4:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh the sunshine was out, and I was I usually don't let my alarm go off more than uh maybe three or four beeps, or um, I guess it's beeping that or chiming of bells, whatever it may be, uh that you or I have selected.
- 4:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But it went off probably maybe 20 times today, which is uh very unlike me for that that to happen, and so I was just I didn't want to wake up.
- 5:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I wanted to wake up, but I didn't want to wake up at that very time frame, and so it took every ounce of energy for me to get out of bed this morning, it just did.
- 5:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Then it was the question was, well, do I go to the gym?
- 5:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I started thinking distance, how far is the gym from where I reside?
- 5:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And while I haven't timed it, it is maybe five minutes, if that, depending on traffic and all that.
- 6:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um so that was a big strike against that.
- 6:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I couldn't say, oh well, I'm I have to drive a half hour, 20 minutes, or an extended period of time.
- 6:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I couldn't use that excuse.
- 6:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Then I was thinking I I really don't I really don't like leg day.
- 6:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's not because I d I do like a lot of weight or anything, it's it's it's actually one of my easier workouts uh with the with the machines and that.
- 6:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so I think that was part of it where I was thinking to myself that well, if I don't go, it's not that big of a deal.
- 6:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and was there like nope, like was I gonna get a prize if I went and and not if I didn't go?
- 7:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No, I had nothing to do with that.
- 7:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was just in my mind, in my mind, that's what I was thinking.
- 7:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm like, well, what I ended up doing was usually I don't go two days in a row, and I did go two days in a row.
- 7:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I went on thing on Friday and Saturday, and then I was like, well, I can something like that.
- 7:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I thought I thought I went two days in a row, and then I had two days off, and so I was thinking to myself, well, if I don't go like, you know, two for two, uh, you know, go work out two days in a row and then have two days off for rest or recuperation.
- 7:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I could have done that.
- 8:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I I just got to thinking, I'm like, Justin, the distance is so short.
- 8:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, aside from like living at the gym, which uh I don't, I don't recommend.
- 8:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, nobody does, I don't think.
- 8:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Aside from that, I'm like, I can't get much closer to the gym from where where I reside to where the the gym actually is, and so I was like, well, like I said, that that excuse went out the window, and then I got to thinking about what the real like what the big reasons are that I wanted to join the gym, and while in my let's say early 20s, late late teens, early 20s, early to mid-20s, I was a uh one of these uh I think they call them gym rats, or you know, people that would go four to five days a week, and I'd have the protein shakes, I'd have uh, you know, the supplement you take before, one of the supplements you can take before a workout, and then after a workout, and and so I I was very heavily uh into that like lifestyle.
- 9:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I wasn't I wasn't training for any contest, but it was just something in my mind, and I was like, all right, this is what I'm doing.
- 9:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I mentioned before then there were some layoffs at the the job, the company I was working for, and then that turned me into super, super frugal and extra stress and anxiety about oh my gosh, you know, I I saw people get fired and let go.
- 10:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so the gym for me was like one of the things I'm like, well, I can cut that expense, and so I did.
- 10:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Then I mean we're talking from you know the 20s to the not 40s, uh early 40s, I have to say, uh little bit of a joke, but uh I just I I didn't I didn't want to again it came down to money, didn't want to spend the money to to join a gym because I didn't know how I would like like if I was gonna go to that extreme of like like I mentioned, or if I was gonna go the other way and then just not use the membership.
- 11:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: One of the reasons, one of the big reasons was I had put on a lot of extra weight, a lot of extra pounds, kilograms.
- 11:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I've put on a lot of weight, and I got to thinking about my child and uh our child, my wife's, um, and I use that as some fuel to want to go to the gym.
- 11:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If it means I do two exercises or ten or fifteen or whatever the number is, uh, or lift five pounds or two pounds, like it doesn't matter, just getting my body moving, given my and I think this is where my major depression kind comes in, and not that anybody has to have major depression to have those days of not wanting to go wanting to go to the gym.
- 12:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm just giving them I'm just giving them my perspective, and so that that's that doesn't help me.
- 12:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um so yeah, I want I I I wanted to kind of trade in some of the fat and the extra pounds of fat for some muscle, or at least try to get rid of as much extra weight as possible.
- 13:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that was one of the one of, if not the biggest uh biggest reasons I wanted to go to get back and going to the gym, whatever that meant.
- 13:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I said, it didn't matter how much weight I was lifting.
- 13:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh there's always gonna be somebody who lifts more weight that has one more contest, and so it was just about me being me and not trying to compare myself, and so I had to have that thinking kind of from the beginning, and so that was huge, and it is huge.
- 13:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that was one of the big reasons I was thinking this morning.
- 13:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm like, Justin, did you forget like the reason why why we're going to the gym?
- 14:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: As I'm talking about like me in my mind, but it's just me and one person.
- 14:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let's get that out of the way.
- 14:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so that that that's that was one one of the the things I thought about.
- 14:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I was like, well, like if you're just not gonna go now when it's sunshine out, what are you gonna do when it's you know pitch black out in the morning?
- 14:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh you only turn the clocks back, um fall back, which I think is coming up, I think, pretty soon.
- 14:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um so that will that was a huge thing.
- 14:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and then I'm talking about like the inspiration, like there's individuals that have a lot of medical problems.
- 15:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And they're there almost all the times I've been there.
- 15:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I said, I go three to I think there's maybe been one week I've won four times a week.
- 15:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Usually it's every other day or something around there.
- 15:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I might skip two days and then I'll go one or uh so that that was that was that was what came to mind.
- 15:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I was like, Justin, I you know, you're you're using it as fuel to go to the gym, so you hopefully live long longer for your daughter.
- 15:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And that was the that was the big uh that big thing I I was thinking about.
- 16:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then the distance.
- 16:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like Justin, you got five minutes or less to go to the and that's Lucy, Lucy somebody's probably mowing mowing the lawn or something.
- 16:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um like Justin, like you don't you're not gonna get much closer to the gym.
- 16:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like you can't use the distance as an excuse.
- 16:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And that as far as you know, supplements and all that.
- 16:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, we do the protein and creatine and that, and then as my regular regimen of vitamins and uh medications.
- 17:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I don't want to go.
- 17:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't want to do this.
- 17:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I there's a lot of things we don't want to do.
- 17:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like as as you're watching or listening to this show, or any others in the past or future, uh there's boring administrative work that has to be done for the show, the podcast to come to you, whether you're watching or whether you're listening.
- 17:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I don't want to do those, they're just time consuming.
- 17:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then I looked at the analytics, which I do ruminate, I try not to look at the numbers, but this month we still have a couple days left, and at least on the audio side, we are over two hundred audio downloads listens greater than the second highest month of the entire existence of the Voices for Voices podcast.
- 18:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I saw that, and I'm like, okay, we're making a difference, and so it kind of plays into the well, I don't want to do the administrative work, I don't want to do that of trying to reach new audiences and more people like what we're doing and what we talk about.
- 19:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But then I look at numbers and not every month is like this, but this month just again just on the audio side, and we're on there's probably there's there's a bunch we're not getting because of people needing private servers, uh, given you know their location, where they're where they live, uh governments, intelligence agencies, etc.
- 19:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like that's not counting those.
- 20:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We don't know how many or how few of those are out there.
- 20:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So from the from the analytics that I get to see the audio podcast downloads for the month of October twenty twenty six is over two hundred episodes higher in October than the second highest month.
- 20:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so not only did we turn the page and arrive at episode six hundred, now we're we're past that.
- 21:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're past episode six hundred.
- 21:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we're past all the previous months at our highest, our peak right now for the audio downloads, listens, whatever the correct terminology is.
- 21:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so for me to go, I don't want to do this, I don't want to go, I don't want to go to the gym, I don't want to do the administrative work for the podcast, I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't want.
- 21:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, whether whether you believe in God, a God.
- 22:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or not uh you know we we we accept everybody into the voices for voices family, and so as I try to do every day, some days I'm more successful than others, um I am starting to integrate more prayer, uh more being present in the moment than I have been in a long time, and some of that means greater emotions giving example.
- 23:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I live a sitting chair in our one room, and before my dad went to heaven, my wife and daughter made a uh made a book with pictures of my dad with my daughter and our families.
- 23:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: My sister, brother-in-law, nephews, the my mom, my dad, me, my wife, my daughter.
- 23:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I've known we've had the book, but it's different when you actually pick up the book, you dust it off, and you look, and I just I I got super emotional and I th I think a lot of us would at at that was twenty or thirty or more pages with a picture and a little caption when it was taken.
- 24:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And while not directly part of the I don't want to go or I don't want to do that that part was a little bit more fuel, although it was a different day.
- 25:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was something that I thought about, and I was like, my dad would want me to go to the gym to be as healthy or whatever the the terms we want to use as I can for my daughter, and I'm the only one that can do that for myself, so if I'm willing and able to do that and go to the gym, then I should go to the gym.
- 26:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then we turn the I don't want to go into I don't want to go, but I'm gonna go anyways.
- 26:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let's say that again.
- 26:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't want to go, but I'm gonna go anyways, and so let that be our takeaway today from our show, from this episode.
- 26:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Over 200 uh over 200.
- 26:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, we're over 200 episodes, so we're over 600 episodes.
- 26:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I think this is 601.
- 26:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we just want to thank you for joining us.
- 27:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you could share the the podcast, we'd be greatly appreciative, and we are appreciative, each and every one of you.
- 27:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you're returning, thank you for coming back.
- 27:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is your first show.
- 27:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Welcome.
- 27:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're all family, we're all here as one, no matter where we're at across the world, no matter our abilities or our challenges, we're we're one, we're voices for voices.
- 27:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So the next time you or somebody you know says, I don't want to go, you can say, Okay, you don't want to go, but you can go anyways, or I can go anyways.
- 28:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Doesn't mean that every time's gonna be perfect, it's not, nobody's perfect.
- 28:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's gonna be days where we are gonna take two, three days off in between workouts.
- 28:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe we're traveling, we're going on vacation, but then that's okay.
- 28:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Don't worry if anybody's judging you.
- 28:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It doesn't matter.
- 28:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: For me, it's God, that's what matters.
- 28:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Anybody else can give their opinion, but it's it's you know it's between me and God, and you and God, or you and whoever your higher power, whoever you look to as a mentor or mentee.
- 29:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So let's remember that we don't have to, but we're gonna do it anyways.
- 29:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Think about that the next time the gym comes up, an opportunity to go to a concert if you have the ability to, if you have the money, if you have transportation, whatever the that thing or things are, let's be a little bit more positive.
- 29:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have a whole lot to offer the world, every single every single one of us.
- 30:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have so much to offer the world.
- 30:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So don't think I don't want to go.
- 30:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What's it what's it what's it matter if I go or not?
- 30:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just it's healthy and have the ability to come back at ourselves and say, yeah, I don't want to go, but I'm gonna go anyways.
- 30:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: My alarm usually goes three beeps or chime when or bell chimes, but it went twenty, so that means that I don't have the energy to go.
- 31:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No, you do have the energy.
- 31:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe you don't do as many machines, maybe you don't do as many weights, exercises.
- 31:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, who's counting?
- 31:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Don't worry about what other people are doing in the gym.
- 31:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Do you whatever your workout is, whatever you're feeling.
- 31:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you feel burnout uh after two or three exercises, they call it a day.
- 31:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But you at least can you know put a check mark into that box of I went to the gym, so I was able to get up, get the transportation, go to the gym, do the exercises, or wait train.
- 31:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so later in the day, you can look back, or I can look back and go, I didn't want to go, but I want anyways, and so can you.
- 32:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So until next time, please, please, please, please share Voices for Voices podcast.
- 32:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Please give us a thumbs up, a like, follow, subscribe, share, reshare, repost, word of mouth.
- 32:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you're not on your phone, pull your phone out, share the voices for voices podcast with 25 contacts in your phone, maybe a hundred, maybe two hundred.
- 32:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let them know about the voices for voices podcast.
- 32:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're always grateful no matter what.
- 32:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: All those things I just listed, they're all free to do, they don't cost a thing.
- 32:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So until next time, let's celebrate all the voices in the world, no matter what shape, form, looks like, sounds like.
- 33:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let's be a voice for not only ourselves, but also maybe somebody else is in need to share their voice, and they're looking for maybe a little help to communicate that.
- 33:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we're praying for you, and we're sending our support to each and every one of you.
- 33:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But bye for now.
