Gregory Maguire Talks about the Inspiration Behind Wicked and His New Novel Elphie (Live at Barnes and Noble)

Ivory Tower Boiler Room · Mar 29, 2025 · 18m

On March 26th, I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting Gregory Maguire in real life! I've had Gregory on the podcast twice so this was a dream come true. Here is an excerpt from his conversation at his Elphie book signing. I also was able to ask him a question about how he thinks about the difference in themes between Wicked and Elphie.

Thanks to Barnes and Noble in Clifton, New Jersey for hosting this incredible book signing!
