- 0:00There is a place in Indiana where time doesn't just slow, it
- 0:05fractures. A quiet patch of land nestled
- 0:09deep in Park County, where the air smells of rusted iron and
- 0:14river fog and the sound of footsteps often belongs to no
- 0:19one at all. Billy Creek Village was built to
- 0:23preserve the past, but something else was preserved with it,
- 0:28something older than the timber cabins and covered bridges,
- 0:33Something hungry. The locals speak in hushed tones
- 0:37about the lights that flicker in empty rooms, the child seen
- 0:42peering from the schoolhouse doorway, and the preacher's
- 0:46voice still echoing from the Chapel long after his death.
- 0:52The village does not sleep. The soil remembers, they say.
- 0:59A shadow walks the church at night, its eyes glowing like
- 1:03embers. Some say it was awakened when
- 1:07the graves beneath the Chapel were disturbed.
- 1:10Others believe it never left. Call it a ghost.
- 1:15Call it a demon. Doesn't care what name you give
- 1:19it. It only wants you.
- 1:23Billy Creek was meant to be a Museum of memories.
- 1:27It has become a prison for the forgotten, and once you walk its
- 1:31crooked paths and pass through its bridges, something watches
- 1:37and waits. This is the story of the village
- 1:41the time could not bury, and the things that walk there still.
- 1:53I know many of you like to fall asleep listening to my content,
- 1:57which I greatly appreciate, but would you also like to burrito
- 2:01yourself in a super nice blanket while you do so?
- 2:05Now I will warn you, these are a little pricey, but we went with
- 2:09quality over quantity and the quality is ridiculously good you
- 2:13guys. I have a few designs I'm going
- 2:15to be launching on my store as of this video and a few
- 2:19different sizes that you might want to check out and the prices
- 2:22will vary based on size. This is the blanket that I
- 2:25received here and it completely burritos me and covers my
- 2:30toesies, which I'm 6 foot and typically regular blankets
- 2:34besides like betting ones don't usually do that for me.
- 2:37Usually I have like half my body uncovered.
- 2:41So it's really nice actually. So if you'd like to support the
- 2:44channel and be super comfy in a nice quality blanket, consider
- 2:49grabbing one of these today. And they're also very much Luna
- 2:52approved. Thanks.
- 2:56To tell the story properly, let us first start at the beginning.
- 3:01I want to give you an overview of the unique history and
- 3:04buildings that exist there, and perhaps it'll help explain why
- 3:09things are the way they are today.
- 3:13Billy Creek Village began as a bold preservation project in the
- 3:171960s, born from the pride and vision of Park County residents.
- 3:23After the success of the county's first Covered Bridge
- 3:26Festival in 1957 and a popular Maple fair in the 1960s, locals
- 3:33sought a way to keep visitors coming year round.
- 3:37Their solution was unprecedented, build an entirely
- 3:41new town using old buildings. By 1964 to 65, a plan was
- 3:47underway to relocate his storage structures from around the
- 3:51county to a 70 acre site near Rockville, IN.
- 3:56Volunteers in the nonprofit Park County Inc work tirelessly to
- 4:01acquire and move heritage buildings from homes and barns
- 4:06to a general store and even covered bridges onto the
- 4:10property. In 1969, the new Old Town open
- 4:15to the public as Billy Creek Village, named after a nearby
- 4:20stream called Williams Creek, locally nicknamed Billy Creek.
- 4:25At first it featured only a handful of exhibits, but the
- 4:30collection grew steadily through donations and relocation of
- 4:34structures over the following decades.
- 4:38The village was envisioned as a living History Museum, a place
- 4:42where visitors could wander, boardwalk, line streets, and
- 4:46step back into the late 1800s and early 1900s.
- 4:51Dressed interpreters demonstrated period trades and
- 4:54crafts, and schoolchildren came on field trips, and annual
- 4:59events like Civil War reenactments and old fashioned
- 5:03ice cream socials brought the town to live.
- 5:06By the end of the 20th century, Billy Creek Village had become a
- 5:10historical gold mine boasting over 30 preserved buildings and
- 5:16hundreds of artifacts. Truly a time capsule of rural
- 5:21Indiana's past, today Billy Creek contains 38 historical
- 5:26buildings and structures, each with its own story.
- 5:31These include rustic log cabins from the 1830s, quaint Victorian
- 5:36era shops, churches, A1 room, schoolhouse, and even the former
- 5:43home of an Indiana governor. Most of the structures were
- 5:47painstakingly disassembled at their original locations and
- 5:51rebuilt on site, maintaining as much authenticity as possible.
- 5:57For example, the Beast Into Plenty Cabin, built around 1830,
- 6:02still stands without a single nail in its Poplar wood frame.
- 6:07The modest white St. Joseph's Catholic Church, built
- 6:11in 1886, and a small Baptist Church once rang with hymns.
- 6:16Now watch silently over the empty lanes.
- 6:20The Governor's House, a simple one bedroom cottage, belonged to
- 6:24Joseph A Wright, the 10th Governor of the State of Indiana
- 6:29from 1849 to 1857, who settled in Rockville.
- 6:34As a young lawyer. Governor Wright's wife, Luisa,
- 6:38suffered reoccurring malaria and could bear only one child.
- 6:43They adopted a daughter in 1832. Fittingly, their humble home
- 6:48reflects the hardships and hopes of an early Hoosier life. 3
- 6:53historic covered bridges graced the village and its immediate
- 6:57surroundings, giving Park County its nickname, Covered Bridge
- 7:01Capital of the World. Each bridge predates the village
- 7:05itself and was moved here to be preserved.
- 7:09Notably, the Billy Creek Covered Bridge, built in 1895, stretches
- 7:15over the Creek at the village entrance.
- 7:18Just upstream is the Beeson Covered Bridge, built in 19 O 6
- 7:23into the South, the Leatherwood Station Bridge, built in 1899.
- 7:29These weathered bridges of timber and iron once echoed with
- 7:33horse drawn wagons. Now they lend the village a
- 7:37truly bygone atmosphere. Other attractions dotting the
- 7:41grounds include a working blacksmith shop, a print shop, a
- 7:46Maple sugar camp, and even the entrance to an old mine.
- 7:50In fact, at the far edge of the property lies the White Star
- 7:54Mine, a real United Mine Workers strip mine that operated from
- 7:591931 to 1939, a surprising remnant of more modern history.
- 8:06Tucked within the pre 1900s village, one of the most
- 8:10cherished buildings is the General Store, the social hub of
- 8:14the village then and now. Estimated to have been built
- 8:18between 1850 and 1860, this white clapboard store originally
- 8:24stood in Annapolis, Indiana, a thriving Quaker community in its
- 8:28day. When the railroad bypassed
- 8:30Annapolis, the town faded. The old store was moved to
- 8:35nearby Bloomingdale and passed through several owners before
- 8:39finding new life at Billy Creek in 1968.
- 8:44Another centerpiece is Doctor Rice's office, a small Greek
- 8:48Revival building where Doctor Harris J Rice treated patients
- 8:53in the mid 19th century. Dr. Rice was born in 1823 and
- 8:58studied medicine in Philadelphia and returned to Indiana to
- 9:02practice, eventually taking over his uncle's medical office in
- 9:061857. The one story doctor's office he
- 9:10used was built around that time on Rockville's Market Street.
- 9:15In the 1860s and 70s it was updated with fashionable
- 9:20touches. This very same building was
- 9:24later saved, then brought to Billy Creek Village.
- 9:29Inside one can see an exam table and apothecary jars as they
- 9:34might have appeared in the 1800s, reminding us of an era
- 9:39when country doctors mixed their own medicines and often doubled
- 9:44as dentists. The village schoolhouse is
- 9:47another beloved landmark, the classic one room school.
- 9:52It dates to 1913 and represents the type of rural education
- 9:56common over a century ago. Painted rustic red with a bell
- 10:02tower on top, the school once rang with the laughter of
- 10:05children. And some say it still does in
- 10:10ways that defy explanation. Dozens of other structures
- 10:14enrich Billy Creek Villages story, each transplanted from
- 10:19real communities. Walking through the village is
- 10:22like strolling through an encyclopedia of Indiana
- 10:26vernacular architecture, every building labeled and preserved.
- 10:31But alongside its nostalgic charm, this empty town has
- 10:35gained a much darker, spine tingling distinction in recent
- 10:40years. While Billy Creek Village
- 10:44flourished through the late 20th century as a living history
- 10:48park, it faced significant challenges as the original
- 10:53founders and volunteers aged. By the early 2000s, attendance
- 10:59had dwindled and maintenance became difficult.
- 11:03Without a new generation to carry the torch, the once
- 11:08bustling town grew quiet and in 2005 the site even narrowly
- 11:15avoided demolition when financial woes and dwindling
- 11:20support threatened its existence.
- 11:23A last minute effort to save the villages historic structures
- 11:27from being torn down or left to rot.
- 11:31However, the reprieve was temporary.
- 11:35A few years later, operations went completely dark and Billy
- 11:39Creek Village entered A dormant period.
- 11:44Matters came to a head in 2012 when the entire 70 acre property
- 11:49was put up for auction, with bids reportedly in the $800,000
- 11:55to one and a half $1,000,000 range.
- 11:58There was talk of selling the site off in pieces if no buyer
- 12:02could preserve it whole. It was a tense moment for
- 12:06historians and fans of the village.
- 12:10Fortunately, in summer of 2014, a group rallied to reopen Billy
- 12:15Creek Village, even hosting a grand reopening celebration on
- 12:19August 10th of 2014. For a brief time, hope was
- 12:24restored, but this revival proved short lived and the
- 12:28village closed to the public again not long after.
- 12:32The empty streets and quiet buildings seemed destined to
- 12:36decay, frozen in time. Finally, in April 2022, new
- 12:43lifeblood arrived. A local entrepreneur and history
- 12:47enthusiast named Greg Larson purchased operational management
- 12:52of Billy Creek Village, determined to return it to its
- 12:55former glory. Larson assembled A-Team to
- 12:58repair structures and event planners to animate the town
- 13:02with activities once more. Under this new management, Billy
- 13:07Creek cautiously reopened for periodic events, tours and even
- 13:12overnight guests. It has since been integrated
- 13:15again into Park County's famous Covered Bridge Festival each
- 13:19October and is once more welcoming school groups in the
- 13:23spring. In an unexpected twist, however,
- 13:26one of the biggest draws bringing visitors back has
- 13:30nothing to do with traditional history at all.
- 13:33It's the ghosts. As Larson and others soon found,
- 13:38the stories of unexplained happenings around Billy Creek
- 13:41Village had taken on a life of their own, offering the site an
- 13:46unusual second act as a paranormal destination.
- 13:51Despite being a fabricated town that's barely half a century
- 13:55old, Billy Creek Village is steeped in ghost stories.
- 13:59Locals and visitors alike have long whispered that the past
- 14:03inhabitants of these historic buildings may have followed them
- 14:08to this new location. Over time, the village gained A
- 14:12reputation as possibly one of the most haunted places in
- 14:16Indiana, according to Ghost Hunts USAA National paranormal
- 14:21tour group. Paranormal activity reported at
- 14:24Billy Creek includes apparitions, shadows, footsteps,
- 14:30and voices. These claims are not just
- 14:33hearsay. Numerous independent ghost
- 14:36hunters and teams have investigated the site and come
- 14:39away convinced something otherworldly resides in this
- 14:43silent town. Common reports of ghostly
- 14:47phenomena Billy Creek Village include shadowy figures.
- 14:52Dark silhouettes are frequently glimpsed wandering between the
- 14:56buildings or standing just directly out of sight.
- 15:01Witnesses often catch these shadow figures in the corner of
- 15:04their eye, fleeting shapes that vanish when one tries to look
- 15:10straight at them. On occasion, a person will see a
- 15:14figure head on an indistinct person, strolling across the
- 15:19empty village lane. Seemingly absorbed in the
- 15:23errands of a bygone era, these spectres do not approach or
- 15:29acknowledge the living. Rather, they roam as if Billy
- 15:34Creek were still the hometown that they remember.
- 15:37Their silent presence lends the area an uncanny feeling of being
- 15:42occupied by invisible villagers. People have also reported
- 15:48phantom footsteps. Perhaps the most frequently
- 15:52experienced phenomena is the sound of these footsteps echoing
- 15:56over wooden porches and across the covered bridges when no
- 16:00person is there. Many have described the steady
- 16:04clank of heavy boots or the patter of children's shoes
- 16:09moving along the boardwalks and bridge planks.
- 16:14Eerily, the covered bridges amplify these sounds.
- 16:19Inside the tunnel likes bands, the disembodied footfalls
- 16:23reverberate loudly, as if an unseen traveler were crossing
- 16:28alongside you. Visitors have stood still on the
- 16:31bridges, listening to these ghostly steps approach and fade
- 16:35away into silence. Such encounters are usually more
- 16:40mystifying than menacing, as if the spirits are simply going
- 16:46about their daily business. On quiet days, people have
- 16:50reported hearing faint voices carried on the breeze.
- 16:54Sometimes it's an indistinct whisper or a distant
- 16:58conversation that stops abruptly.
- 17:01Other times, specific words or a lone shout will emerge from
- 17:06nowhere. Given the village setting, one
- 17:10might imagine ghostly neighbors chatting or a far off call of
- 17:15hello with no answer. Notably, some investigators
- 17:20claim to have recorded Evps or electronic voice phenomena here,
- 17:26snippets of spoken words on auto recorders when no live person
- 17:31was present. The voices range from murmured
- 17:35prayers in the church to a child's giggle near the
- 17:39schoolhouse, further adding layers to Billy Creek's mystery.
- 17:45Though rare, there are accounts of people seeing the full figure
- 17:49of a person, typically in periodic dress, startlingly
- 17:53clear and solid, only for the figure to disappear moments
- 17:58later. These vivid apparitions have
- 18:01been spotted inside buildings often engaged in ordinary tasks,
- 18:07a woman in old fashioned clothes browsing shelves in the general
- 18:11store, or a man in work overalls peering over out of the
- 18:16blacksmith shop door. One especially poignant sighting
- 18:21involved what looked like a small child and antiquated
- 18:25school clothes standing in a doorway, a scene that several
- 18:29people have reported independently.
- 18:33Such sightings have convinced many that each historic
- 18:36structure brought its own ghosts to Billy Creek Village.
- 18:40It is as if the village is populated by the spirits of the
- 18:4419th century men and women and children associated with each
- 18:49building's former life. While ghostly activity has been
- 18:53noted all around Billy Creek's grounds, a few hot spots stand
- 18:58out for their frequent and compelling paranormal reports.
- 19:03These locations have become favorites for both local legends
- 19:08and formal paranormal investigations.
- 19:11The General Store By day, this big white store is the cheerful
- 19:16centerpiece of Billy Creek, but by night it is known as a hotbed
- 19:21of hauntings. Visitors and staff have
- 19:24described unexplained noises and movements here.
- 19:27After hours, soft conversations have been heard when the store
- 19:32was empty, and objects like old tins or jars sometimes end up in
- 19:39different places without explanation.
- 19:43The most striking encounters are apparitions.
- 19:47More than one guest has claimed to see a figure through the
- 19:50storefront windows or inside by the counter when no one should
- 19:55be there. One vivid report described a
- 19:58gentleman in an old suit and bowler hat standing by the candy
- 20:03displays. Who vanished as the witness
- 20:06approached. Another tale speaks of the
- 20:09phantom storekeeper, an older man and suspenders seen
- 20:14fleetingly behind the counter, as if still tending to customers
- 20:19in the afterlife. These stories align with the
- 20:22general store's past. It was the heart of its original
- 20:26town, and perhaps some part of those bustling days imprinted
- 20:31itself here. Ghost hunters often focus their
- 20:35cameras and recorders in the general store, given how
- 20:39frequent it yields results. The store's atmosphere, steeped
- 20:44in history, seems to invite its long gone patrons back for one
- 20:49more visit. Another alleged hotspot is the
- 20:54village schoolhouse. This humble one room school may
- 20:58harbor one of Billy Creek's most famous ghosts.
- 21:03In the summer of 2017, a visitor snapped a photograph that later
- 21:08stunned everyone who saw it. In the photograph appeared to be
- 21:12the silhouette of a little girl standing inside the schoolhouse
- 21:17doorway, even though no living child was present at the time.
- 21:23The image, often dubbed the Schoolhouse Ghost photo, clearly
- 21:28shows a small figure, an old fashioned dress behind the
- 21:32screen door, and it became local news when the family who took it
- 21:38shared it with an Indianapolis TV station.
- 21:42The mother, Cindy Livingston, insisted that there was
- 21:46definitely no one physically standing in the doorway when her
- 21:50daughter took the picture. This chilling photograph lends
- 21:54serious credibility to the whispers of ghost children at
- 21:57Billy Creek. Visitors have also reported
- 22:00hearing the faint laughter of children and the sound of a
- 22:04wooden school bell or desk lid when inside the empty
- 22:09schoolhouse. Some investigators conducting
- 22:13overnight stays have left trigger objects like old toys or
- 22:18chalk on the desk, only to find tiny handprints or moved items
- 22:23by morning. The lore goes that a young girl
- 22:27from the 1800s may still linger there eternally, waiting for
- 22:32class to begin. Whether it's the spirit captured
- 22:36in that 2017 photo or another playful entity, the schoolhouse
- 22:41continues to be a focal point of the villages ghostly activity.
- 22:46Even skeptics have admitted to feeling a sudden cold presence
- 22:50or an unseen watcher in the room that once rang with children's
- 22:55voices. Doctor Rice's doctor's office,
- 23:00given its history, is a place of healing and possibly of
- 23:03suffering. It's no surprise that the old
- 23:06doctor's office has an aura of mystery.
- 23:11Though fewer specific ghost sightings are documented here
- 23:14publicly, many who enter Doctor Rice's office report an uneasy
- 23:20feeling. Some describe it as a subtle
- 23:23pressure, as if they're never quite alone amid the antique
- 23:28medical instruments and weather dentist chair.
- 23:33A common report is the sensation of being watched from the back
- 23:37examination room or seeing a curtain flutter when there's no
- 23:41breeze. Ghost tour guides have noted
- 23:45that even skeptics grow quiet upon stepping inside.
- 23:49The atmosphere is heavy with the residue of life and death,
- 23:54moments that must have unfolded in the 19th century within those
- 23:59very walls. One local legend claims that the
- 24:03spirit of a young patient who didn't survive a fever is
- 24:07sometimes seen peeking out the front window, perhaps looking
- 24:11for her parents. Another tale suggests that
- 24:15Doctor Rice himself makes rounds from beyond the grave, a figure
- 24:20in a long coat spotted briefly in the corner of 1's eye.
- 24:26While these particular anecdotes are hard to verify, they fit the
- 24:30pattern of subtle, watchful hauntings at the doctor's
- 24:34office. And given the building's rich
- 24:36history since Doctor Rice started his practice in
- 24:40Rockville in the late 1840s and served his community for
- 24:45decades, adds weight to the idea that strong emotional events
- 24:49left a mark. Investigators often include the
- 24:53office and their nighttime sweeps using EMF detectors in
- 24:58spirit boxes in the hopes of contacting any lingering
- 25:03medicinal spirits. The covered bridges at Billy
- 25:07Creek are not only scenic but undeniably spooky after sundown.
- 25:13Footsteps are the main claim to fame here.
- 25:16Many have testified to hearing the sound of someone crossing
- 25:20the bridge behind them only to turn and find emptiness.
- 25:25The Billy Creek Covered Bridge, with its 90 foot enclosure of
- 25:29timber and the instruction to cross this bridge at a walk
- 25:34painted on its portal seems to carry the residual energy of
- 25:39countless crossings. Paranormal enthusiasts note that
- 25:44bridges are often sites of superstition.
- 25:47These are no exception. In addition to footsteps, people
- 25:52have caught fleeting shadow figures within the bridges,
- 25:55sometimes darting between the Criss crossing beams. 1
- 26:00paranormal team set up a laser grid inside of a bridge and
- 26:04claimed to see a human shaped outline briefly interrupt the
- 26:08pattern, as if an invisible figure had passed through it.
- 26:13Others recount hearing a whistling tune in the bridge,
- 26:17like that of a worker or traveler whistling to
- 26:21themselves, a sound that abruptly stops when you step
- 26:25inside. The acoustics of the covered
- 26:28bridges tend to amplify these unexplained noises, making the
- 26:32experiences even more unnerving. Interestingly, locals have their
- 26:38own bit of lore. Some say that during the
- 26:42villages early days, a visitor suffered a heart attack and died
- 26:47while crossing across one of the bridges.
- 26:50While this story remains unverified, it is often told to
- 26:53explain why that person's ghost might still be pacing there.
- 26:58And whether or not the tale is true, the covered bridges
- 27:02undeniably provide a stage for Billy Creek's ghostly foot
- 27:06traffic. Virtually every corner of Billy
- 27:11Creek Village has some paranormal story attached to it.
- 27:15In the quiet churches, for instance, a few investigators
- 27:19have felt sudden cold spots near the altars or have recorded what
- 27:24sounds like an exacerbated sigh. One especially disturbing legend
- 27:29that has emerged, however, comes from the Villages Union Baptist
- 27:33Church and has seemed to manifest in more recent years,
- 27:38and that is the rumors of a Black Eyed Demon said to lurk
- 27:43within. His tale caught fire after
- 27:47members of a well known ghost hunting group claimed to
- 27:50encounter a malevolent presence inside the dark church late one
- 27:55night. According to their accounts,
- 27:58they saw a shadow with gleaming eyes and felt an overwhelming
- 28:03sense of dread, even oppression, leading them to dub it the Black
- 28:09Eyed Demon of Billy Creek. While such an extreme entity is
- 28:15outside the norm of the villages more peaceful ghost sightings,
- 28:20the story has spread wildly on social media and thus has added
- 28:24a demonic twist to Billy Creek's lore.
- 28:28Paranormal enthusiasts now approach the church with both
- 28:31excitement and caution, with some performing cleansing
- 28:36rituals before entering. Aside from that, the old Civil
- 28:42War era farmhouse at the back of the property has its own eerie
- 28:46vibe. People have described seeing a
- 28:49silhouette in the upper window of the farmhouse when it was
- 28:52entirely closed up. Even the rustic barns and sheds
- 28:57occasionally produce an unexplained bang or a phantom
- 29:02Lantern light swaying as if a long dead farmhand was checking
- 29:07on the animals. In short, no part of Billy Creek
- 29:11Village is entirely free of spectral possibility, especially
- 29:17once the sun goes down. All these stories of apparitions
- 29:23and inexplicable happenings have drawn serious attention from the
- 29:27paranormal community. In recent years, Billy Creek
- 29:31Village has become a hotspot for ghost hunters, researchers, and
- 29:36curiosity seekers hoping to witness the supernatural for
- 29:40themselves. The villages caretakers have
- 29:43leaned into this trend, offering public ghost hunts and making it
- 29:47easy to book private overnight investigations on the property.
- 29:51Teams will often rent out the entire village from 7:00 PM
- 29:55until dawn, giving them free rein to set up night vision
- 29:59cameras in places like the schoolhouse, EVP recorders and
- 30:04the church, and motion sensors and the general store.
- 30:09These overnight investigations have yielded a growing list of
- 30:12eerie encounters, and some groups report classic hauntings.
- 30:17They capture disembodied voices on audio orbs and unexplained
- 30:22myths in photographs and occasional EMF spikes that
- 30:26suggests that something unseen is nearby.
- 30:30For example, one investigator claimed to record a child's
- 30:33voice giggling at the schoolhouse steps around 3:00
- 30:37AM, matching the villages child ghost lore.
- 30:41Others have obtained thermal camera images that seem to show
- 30:45human shapes with heat signatures and empty rooms, only
- 30:50for it to vanish moments later. However, not every encounter at
- 30:55Billy Creek has been benign. A few investigators insist
- 30:59they've come face to face with sinister forces on the grounds.
- 31:041 prominent YouTube paranormal channel had a particularly
- 31:07harrowing night that they later dubbed Trapped by the Black Eyed
- 31:11Demon. In their video, they recounted
- 31:14how multiple team members felt suddenly ill and one became
- 31:18unresponsive after provoking whatever lurks in the Baptist
- 31:23Church. They claimed to catch on camera
- 31:26a pair of gleaming eyes in the darkness and heard growls
- 31:30echoing in the rafters. Another investigator described
- 31:34waking up from a nap in the governor's house to the
- 31:37sensation of hands pressing on her shoulders, pinning her down
- 31:42with no one else in the room. All experiences of overtly
- 31:47hostile or demonic entities are not the norm at Billy Creek.
- 31:52Such stories have circulated enough to add an extra layer of
- 31:56fear for thrill seekers. In most cases though, visitors,
- 32:01scary moments are limited to the occasional feeling of being
- 32:05watched or sudden chill, the kind of subtle phenomena that
- 32:10leave you questioning your own nerves.
- 32:13Before we go, I did want to share my thoughts with all of
- 32:16you. From the outside looking in, my
- 32:19best guess is that if Billy Creek Village is indeed haunted,
- 32:24it very well could be because of the long histories of the
- 32:27buildings themselves that were transplanted there to create the
- 32:31concept of the town in the 1st place.
- 32:34But are the hauntings more residual, or they're intelligent
- 32:38entities lurking within, perhaps drawn by the energy of both the
- 32:42living and history itself? It certainly may be possible
- 32:48with most haunted places I've visited.
- 32:50I have to say that there are more things that dwell within
- 32:53the darkness, sometimes more than perhaps you'd realize, and
- 32:58you might be surprised with who or what you end up talking to.
- 33:04Now, I do believe in demons or darker entities, although I feel
- 33:09like dealing with them is exceptionally rare, and I feel
- 33:13like I can say that with a good degree of confidence considering
- 33:16my recent visit to the Sally House.
- 33:19But given the sensationalism of the channels involved who have
- 33:23created and pushed this Black Eyed demon narrative, I'm
- 33:27suspicious at best. Which is basically reality TV
- 33:31with a paranormal twist. But as far as taking things
- 33:35seriously and not overly sensationalizing them or
- 33:39downright fabricating evidence, I wouldn't necessarily put it
- 33:43past them. Again, that's just my opinion.
- 33:47Obviously, form your own for yourself.
- 33:50And if you ever visit Billy Creek Village, go before sunset,
- 33:55Walk the gravel roads, run your hand along the beams of the
- 34:00general store and listen to the wind beneath the bridges.
- 34:05It might carry a whisper, a laugh, a name you recognize but
- 34:11shouldn't. When the shadows stretch long
- 34:14and the last tour ends, don't linger.
- 34:18The buildings may look empty, but they aren't.
- 34:22The schoolhouse still echoes with lessons not learned.
- 34:26The doctor's office still prepares patients who never
- 34:30leave. And the church, The church waits
- 34:34for the door to be cracked just wide enough to let something
- 34:38out. They say the Black Eyed demon
- 34:41still roams beneath the rafters, clinging to the bones of the
- 34:45land like mold to stone. You won't see it, not at first,
- 34:53But if your flashlight dies and your breath turns to ice, you'll
- 34:58feel it in your chest. And once you feel it, it
- 35:03remembers you. History was preserved in Billy
- 35:07Creek, but so were the dead. And in the heart of that quiet
- 35:12Indiana wood, the past is not dead.
- 35:17It's listening. Thank you guys so much as
