- 0:00Welcome to Health, Life and What's Next.
- 0:03with Dr.
- 0:03Jennifer Ginty.
- 0:05This is the podcast where we explore what it really means to live well through honest conversations about health, life, business, and everything in between.
- 0:17Because remember, healing is about more than medicine.
- 0:21I'm so glad you are here.
- 0:24Let's get into today's conversation Can I say something that might sound strange coming from me, a doctor?
- 0:32I think some of you need to stop looking for more health information.
- 0:37Not forever, but long enough to ask whether all the information you already have has actually helped you understand anything.
- 0:46Because I meet people who know a lot.
- 0:49They know their thyroid numbers.
- 0:51They know how to read the labs.
- 0:53They know their vitamin Ds, their hormones.
- 0:55They can tell you which foods are supposed to be inflammatory.
- 1:00They've listened to the podcasts, watched the YouTube videos They have followed the gurus, they have changed their diet, they have supplement for their supplement.
- 1:09They have seen specialists, they've done the research, and yet after all of that, they're still sitting there saying,"Okay, but why do I still feel like this?
- 1:22Why am I still experiencing all of these symptoms?" And I think we need to talk about that because maybe the problem isn't that you haven't found enough information.
- 1:34I mean, we live in information galore.
- 1:37Information is everywhere.
- 1:39Maybe nobody has helped you make sense of the information you already have.
- 1:44To me, that's a big difference, and this is where I see people get trapped.
- 1:50So you're tired, you investigate fatigue.
- 1:54You are bloated, so now we're talking about the gut.
- 1:57Your cycle changes, so now we're talking about hormones.
- 2:01You can't sleep, so now we're fixing sleep.
- 2:03Something comes back on the lab, and suddenly that becomes the new thing we are chasing.
- 2:10And before you know it, you have five different conversations happening about one person, you.
- 2:18You are the person.
- 2:20And that doesn't mean all five things have one cause.
- 2:23They don't have one cause.
- 2:25I want to be really clear about that.
- 2:28But shouldn't somebody at least ask how the story unfolded, right?
- 2:33Like, what changed?
- 2:34What did you try?
- 2:36What actually helped?
- 2:37What made you feel worse?
- 2:39And what still doesn't make sense?
- 2:42That is a completely different conversation from what should I take for this, for these symptoms?
- 2:49And I think a lot of people are desperate for that conversation without even realizing it because here's what happened when you don't have it.
- 2:57You keep trying things, and every new thing comes with hope.
- 3:03Maybe this new diet is the thing I've been looking for, this new test, this new practitioner, this new protocol.
- 3:08And when it doesn't give you the answer you were hoping for, you go looking for more things.
- 3:14And at some point that gets very exhausting and expensive, and confusing, and frustrating.
- 3:23And eventually, some people start wondering if they are the problem.
- 3:28Maybe I'm too complicated.
- 3:29You know how many times patients will tell me,"My case is very complicated.
- 3:33Maybe I'm overthinking this.
- 3:35Maybe this is just what getting old feels like.
- 3:39Maybe I need to try harder.
- 3:41I need to be more disciplined." I don't think trying hard is always the answer.
- 3:46Sometimes we need to stop adding things long enough to understand the story, and that is why I created the Connect the Dots.
- 3:56It is happening this September 16th at 6:00 PM.
- 4:01Now, if you miss this one, click the link below and register for the upcoming masterclass.
- 4:08And I want to tell you why I think you should actually be there instead of just saying,"Oh, that sounds nice," right?
- 4:16I'm not doing this masterclass to give you another protocol, I'm not going to tell you 25 supplements you should buy or 14 foods you should stay away from.
- 4:27What I want to give you is a different way to think.
- 4:31I want you to start recognizing the difference between having pieces of information and actually understanding what those pieces mean in the context of your own health.
- 4:41I want you to understand why your timeline matters, why something that didn't work can still give us, your doctor, and yourself information, why one lab result should not automatically become your entire health history.
- 4:57And most importantly, I want you to leave knowing how to ask better questions before deciding what deserves your attention next.
- 5:06Because the next thing you do should have a reason behind it.
- 5:10And if you come live when the stuff that doesn't make sense, when the question you keep coming back to, when the thing that made you think,"But nobody has explained this part," because I'm also going to leave time for live Q&A.
- 5:27So this isn't something I want you to have listening to while folding laundry two weeks from now.
- 5:35I want you in the room.
- 5:36And if while I've been talking, you're like,"Okay, this is me.
- 5:40I'm thinking about this," or you've been thinking about this.
- 5:43You're saying,"Oh my God, this is me.
- 5:45I have so much information, and I still don't understand what any of this means together," then stop searching for a minute.
- 5:54Come have this conversation with me.
- 5:57Connect the Dots is a live masterclass September 16th at 6:00 PM.
