- 0:00Speaker 1: Nice Tony Kats The Morning News ninety three WIBC. My
- 0:05Speaker 1: name is Greg Collins filling in. That was fun as
- 0:07Speaker 1: far as an intro goes grease. But all right, let's
- 0:10Speaker 1: do this. The popcorn moment brought to you by Boer
- 0:13Speaker 1: Remodeling Company. Yes, the popcorn moment for me is actually
- 0:19Speaker 1: somewhat old. It's from a couple days ago, but it's
- 0:22Speaker 1: relevant to what happened yesterday.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Baby.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So Alena Habba popped up on Fox I think Jesse
- 0:28Speaker 1: Waters Show on the twenty third saying I'm not going anywhere.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I'm not cowering from a fight. Alena Hobba was removed
- 0:35Speaker 1: by Woke Attorneys in New Jersey as the interim Attorney
- 0:40Speaker 1: in New Jersey for the US Attorney's Office there, and
- 0:44Speaker 1: then she was installed by the Trump administration as the
- 0:47Speaker 1: acting US Attorney in Jersey, which was just it is
- 0:50Speaker 1: ah Chef's kiss amazing. But here's what Hobba said a
- 0:52Speaker 1: couple days ago when this first started to happen. Oh wait,
- 0:56Speaker 1: hold on, you actually have to be able to hear it.
- 0:58Speaker 1: So let me hit this button and then let's do this.
- 1:00Speaker 3: This public sphere for the last four years knows I'm
- 1:03Speaker 3: not a coward to a fight. So I have obviously
- 1:07Speaker 3: been doing my job. I do my job irrespective of
- 1:11Speaker 3: who you are, what you are, what your politics are.
- 1:13Speaker 3: That's what I said when I swore on my oath
- 1:16Speaker 3: in that oval office in the picture you just showed.
- 1:18Speaker 3: So I'll continue to do so.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I'm going to keep doing that. I'm going to keep
- 1:21Speaker 1: doing that job. So it's a little complicated. What happened. Essentially,
- 1:25Speaker 1: a group of judges I decided that Haba wasn't allowed
- 1:28Speaker 1: to continue acting as the interim attorney in Jersey, so
- 1:32Speaker 1: they fired her, and then they installed somebody else. And
- 1:35Speaker 1: then Pam Bondi said, you know what, this is funny,
- 1:38Speaker 1: I actually have oversight over this.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I'm going to remove the.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Candidate that you've picked, and they're now not definitely the
- 1:44Speaker 1: attorney in New Jersey. And then Trump said, well, now
- 1:46Speaker 1: that there's no buddy work in that, I get to
- 1:49Speaker 1: put somebody in there. And I'm going to put oh,
- 1:50Speaker 1: look at this, Alina Haba into this role.
- 1:54Speaker 2: It was awesome and it's probably.
- 1:55Speaker 1: A move that everybody knew they could orchestrate the moment
- 1:59Speaker 1: that they start to talking about it. And so I
- 2:01Speaker 1: just found it uniquely hilarious that it went that road,
- 2:04Speaker 1: and it took a couple of days, and now she's
- 2:06Speaker 1: in the same position without having the interim title hanging
- 2:10Speaker 1: over anymore.
- 2:11Speaker 2: So just amazing, amazing things.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I will say this, though, I contemplated a very different
- 2:16Speaker 1: popcorn moment, and I can bring in Matt and Carl
- 2:20Speaker 1: to talk about this one too. There is a meme
- 2:23Speaker 1: stock thing going around right now. Meme stock Rally is
- 2:26Speaker 1: what I should call it, based on Sidney Sweeney. So
- 2:29Speaker 1: Sidney Sweeney is the new model for American Eagle, which
- 2:34Speaker 1: is a brand of clothing that hasn't been doing well
- 2:36Speaker 1: for a while, mostly because it's very closely tied to
- 2:40Speaker 1: mals and not a lot of people go to those anymore.
- 2:43Speaker 1: But Sidney Sweeney has single handedly helped the stock at
- 2:45Speaker 1: least rally in the short term because of the Internet's
- 2:49Speaker 1: obsession with Sidney Sweeney. I love the amount of people
- 2:52Speaker 1: who are asking the question like would this work? And here's
- 2:54Speaker 1: what they did, And this is why it's not really
- 2:57Speaker 1: a popcorn moment for radio because there's no audio. Put
- 3:00Speaker 1: Sydney Sweeney in a pair of jeans. They put her
- 3:03Speaker 1: in front of a very fancy car. They had her
- 3:05Speaker 1: close the hood to the car like she knew how
- 3:07Speaker 1: to work on it, and then get into it and
- 3:09Speaker 1: drive away.
- 3:10Speaker 2: That's the entirety of the commercial.
- 3:11Speaker 1: She doesn't even speak, and the stock for American Eagle
- 3:14Speaker 1: immediately skyrocketed. Oh they do zoom in on her butt,
- 3:17Speaker 1: by the way, that also is a compoundent.
- 3:20Speaker 4: I was gonna say, she's dressed like a mechanic, right,
- 3:22Speaker 4: she has to cover alls on, folded clothed. You can't
- 3:24Speaker 4: see any of her skin anywhere. I mean, she's teaching
- 3:26Speaker 4: people how to work on a car.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah, well but the jeans are tight.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Oh okay, trying to portray her as a mechanic.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you see the shape of the of the butt.
- 3:37Speaker 1: This this single handedly has let this stock rebound. And
- 3:40Speaker 1: I loved that a lot of people were asking the
- 3:42Speaker 1: question right after it happened, like will this work?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah? Was my answer to this, Matt, what do you
- 3:46Speaker 2: go out of this?
- 3:46Speaker 5: Absolutely, it'll work. I'll go buy American Eagle.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Now, I'll go buy women's jeans from America. Listen, I
- 3:53Speaker 4: can sit here and tell you all I wanted. I
- 3:55Speaker 4: know I've said it before about Instagram, and the filters,
- 3:57Speaker 4: and you know, there's too much of fake.
- 4:00Speaker 5: I mean, you know, I say that, but I still
- 4:01Speaker 5: buy into it all the time.
- 4:02Speaker 4: I mean, I'm a human being, I'm a man, and
- 4:04Speaker 4: I like women, So yeah, that'll catch my attention.
- 4:08Speaker 5: Whether or not.
- 4:08Speaker 4: At last, it still kind of gives me. It's the
- 4:10Speaker 4: same time this icky Amber Crombie feel. You know, I
- 4:14Speaker 4: remember the Ambercrombie and Fish scandal when they were doing
- 4:18Speaker 4: what they were doing to the models and everything else.
- 4:20Speaker 4: It turns out the whole workforce culture was pretty awful.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Whether you're male, female, or whatever, however you identified sexually,
- 4:29Speaker 4: it was pretty awful. So it kind of gives me
- 4:31Speaker 4: that vibe because American Eagle is kind of an Amber
- 4:34Speaker 4: Crombie store, Like you said, it was a mall store.
- 4:36Speaker 5: So I still kind of put all that the same time.
- 4:39Speaker 4: So I hope American Eagle actually gets something out of this,
- 4:44Speaker 4: and I hope everybody's being treated well, that's all I can.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I hope that American Eagle also has like long
- 4:49Speaker 1: term success, because I do think that this might be
- 4:52Speaker 1: short lived, the whole Sydney cleaning thing, you know, because
- 4:56Speaker 1: we do pay attention and then we lose interest if
- 4:59Speaker 1: there's not more of videos of this young woman you know,
- 5:02Speaker 1: looking good in this clothing. Although they can put out
- 5:05Speaker 1: a bunch of them, I'm sure Sidney Sweeney can take
- 5:06Speaker 1: a bunch of different.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Other photos and videos that will work out just fine.
- 5:10Speaker 1: How to continue to rally the troops via the meme
- 5:12Speaker 1: stocks that are out there in society?
- 5:14Speaker 5: Well, what does she do after work on the car?
- 5:16Speaker 5: You know?
- 5:16Speaker 4: Sidney sweene fixes a car? Sidney Sweeney is I'm glogging
- 5:21Speaker 4: the toilet?
- 5:21Speaker 5: Look at that?
- 5:22Speaker 2: I think so? Yeah again in tight jeans. Yes, I
- 5:25Speaker 2: think it goes.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Actually, I gotta be honest, man, the plumber move would
- 5:29Speaker 1: be the smartest move because no time, yeah, no time
- 5:33Speaker 1: is it ever fun.
- 5:34Speaker 2: To see plumbers crack? But if it were Sidney.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Sweeney, I think that a lot of society would be
- 5:38Speaker 1: much more okay with this idea. And yeah, yeah, the
- 5:43Speaker 1: people who it actually is are terrible as far as anyway,
- 5:47Speaker 1: I'm so mean to plumbers right now. I apologize to
- 5:49Speaker 1: all you guys out there. You don't look like Sidney Sweeney.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Twenty four percent of people are you? Twenty four percent
- 5:55Speaker 1: of people are using AI to fact check their doctors.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Are we worried about this?
- 6:00Speaker 4: Absolutely, okay, fantastic worried about good? I mean, I mean
- 6:04Speaker 4: I have a good doctor. I have a good family doctor,
- 6:06Speaker 4: and I've seen her for fifteen years. I trust her effectively.
- 6:09Speaker 4: I mean, a doctor to me is still something you
- 6:11Speaker 4: should have a personal relationship with.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Well, I know everybody's using AI.
- 6:15Speaker 4: But me, I feel like I'm the only guy in
- 6:17Speaker 4: the world that's not using AI right now. It's probably
- 6:19Speaker 4: because I don't know how to work. And as Sue,
- 6:21Speaker 4: as I figured out, I'll use it too, But it's
- 6:23Speaker 4: scared it.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Have a doctor where if you go in and you
- 6:26Speaker 1: have a question and they answer it away you don't like,
- 6:28Speaker 1: you change the doctor and then wait for one no.
- 6:31Speaker 1: And I mean I mean this honestly, Like Oka, if
- 6:33Speaker 1: you had asked questions about I'm somewhat kidding, but I
- 6:35Speaker 1: do mean it.
- 6:36Speaker 2: If you had asked questions.
- 6:37Speaker 1: About COVID and the vaccine and you had a doctor
- 6:39Speaker 1: that got offended, change your doctor. Just go to a
- 6:41Speaker 1: different doctor who's willing to have the conversation with you
- 6:43Speaker 1: about that stuff, and then find one like Matt did,
- 6:46Speaker 1: that you can stick with for fifteen years. That makes
- 6:48Speaker 1: sense to me and don't trust AI more than your doctor.
- 6:52Speaker 1: It says more about the specific professional that you're choosing
- 6:55Speaker 1: to trust your health to than it says about the
- 6:57Speaker 1: industry as a whole. That people are doing this, in
- 7:00Speaker 1: my opinion, and also the amount of people who are
- 7:02Speaker 1: incapable of asking a question that they think is going
- 7:04Speaker 1: to get them in trouble with somebody else.
- 7:06Speaker 5: Well, think of it this way.
- 7:07Speaker 4: I mean, I'm getting to the I don't want to
- 7:09Speaker 4: say I'm a hypochondriact, but if I have a strange
- 7:11Speaker 4: pain somewhere, I get a little more concerned about what
- 7:13Speaker 4: I used to do when I was in my twenties.
- 7:15Speaker 4: So I go to my doctor and she checks me out.
- 7:17Speaker 4: She says, well, your blood work came back. Everything's good,
- 7:20Speaker 4: You're good, You're fine. But for some reason that doesn't
- 7:22Speaker 4: click in my head. The good part I judge her reaction, like,
- 7:25Speaker 4: was she give me the side eye when she said
- 7:26Speaker 4: that she's just trying to give a good bedside man
- 7:28Speaker 4: or maybe she knows something. So I go home and
- 7:30Speaker 4: I google this thing, you know, strange pain in my head,
- 7:32Speaker 4: whatever you know my side and WebMD comes up. AI
- 7:36Speaker 4: comes up and says, you will die tomorrow, and I'm thinking,
- 7:40Speaker 4: then I'm even more concerned than what I was originally.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I mean, your doctor is your doctor if you trust them,
- 7:45Speaker 4: and if they're saying, you know, this is nothing. But
- 7:48Speaker 4: if my medicine is left into the hands of me,
- 7:51Speaker 4: I'm going to live a miserable life. It's what I'm saying,
- 7:54Speaker 4: because of WebMD, because of AI, I need a professional
- 7:58Speaker 4: to give you that prognosis. Be giving myself a prognosis,
- 8:01Speaker 4: I shouldn't be trusting gay I to do it either.
- 8:03Speaker 2: It's all true.
- 8:05Speaker 1: I will say one last thing about this is funny
- 8:07Speaker 1: because we've been creating this digital show that we hope
- 8:09Speaker 1: to release at some point. Matt and I and I
- 8:12Speaker 1: was just talking this week on our podcast thing about
- 8:15Speaker 1: how I'm pretty sure I have a kidney stone, but
- 8:19Speaker 1: no doctor has told me that I actually have one
- 8:21Speaker 1: of those yet. And you guys were so nice when
- 8:23Speaker 1: I mentioned that, like, ah, it's so terrible.
- 8:25Speaker 2: We feel bad for you.
- 8:26Speaker 1: But it's not actually a thing that I've been diagnosed
- 8:29Speaker 1: with yet. It just it just seems like it might
- 8:31Speaker 1: be true based on pain, the way pain is occurring
- 8:34Speaker 1: in my body, et cetera.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Et cetera.
- 8:36Speaker 1: And also that I really love things like Mountain dew
- 8:39Speaker 1: Amp energy which make your pea change color.
- 8:42Speaker 5: I'm absolutely surewise you just drink it.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, it's the craziest thing, the green amp energy
- 8:49Speaker 1: drink that I enjoy to consume occasionally.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I don't drink it all the time. I turned to
- 8:54Speaker 2: the other stuff.
- 8:55Speaker 1: It really does turn your you know, bathroom one situation
- 9:00Speaker 1: into something that's a neon color.
- 9:02Speaker 2: It shouldn't be, and my wife is told it does.
- 9:05Speaker 5: You're right.
- 9:06Speaker 1: My wife has told me for a while that that's
- 9:08Speaker 1: evident that I'm creating a problem in my body.
- 9:11Speaker 5: Charles Neon, this is fun.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I love that I admitted this on this show too.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I was going to keep that for just a podcast,
- 9:21Speaker 2: but nope, now it's on the radio. All right, we'll
- 9:23Speaker 2: take a break. We'll take a break. A lot coming up.
