Day 55. Numbers 31-32
Israel goes to war against Midian, and the spoils are divided among the people and the Levites. Detailed instructions are given for purification after battle. The tribes of Reuben and Gad request land east of the Jordan, and Moses grants it on the condition that they help the other tribes conquer Canaan. They agree and settle their families while preparing to cross over with the rest of Israel.
