- 0:18So you finally got to experience the regular season atmosphere.
- 0:20Speaker 2: What were takeaways?
- 0:21Speaker 3: Man, it was crazy, but I loved to think about it.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Or Philly got some great fans.
- 0:26Speaker 4: You know, they came out supporting the team, and it
- 0:29was big for you know, we came I came home
- 0:31with the with the dove. So that's the That's the
- 0:34main thing about it. But I say the fans, they
- 0:36was really into it and I loved to think about it.
- 0:38Speaker 1: What was your pre which what is your pregame routine personally?
- 0:41Speaker 2: Like, what do you have anything that you go through?
- 0:44Speaker 4: Well, when I first get there, like I just go
- 0:45in the field and just sit there for like ten
- 0:47to fifteen minute, you know, just getting my mind right,
- 0:49listen to my music and things like that. And once
- 0:52I get back in the locker room, you know it's
- 0:53go time.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I get my little stretches and things like that.
- 0:56Speaker 4: I get them in and then once I go out
- 0:58on the feel like give me a little dynamic warm
- 0:59up and things like that, you know, just to get
- 1:01ready for the game.
- 1:02Speaker 1: How many hours before the game do you get out there?
- 1:04Speaker 2: Uh, I'll say about two or three.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Now do you d Have you ever experienced anything like
- 1:10the lightning delay?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Uh? Yes, I didn't.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I didn't have plenty of while I was at my
- 1:13old school UC.
- 1:14Speaker 4: You know, we were in Florida, so you know, we
- 1:16were right there by the water and things, so it
- 1:17was a lot of uh.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Lightning delays and things like that.
- 1:20Speaker 4: But you know, just making sure that I'm staying hereoky
- 1:23and making sure I still keep my body right, that's
- 1:24the way you're ordering.
- 1:25Speaker 1: What's the longest delay that you've had time wise?
- 1:28Speaker 4: I'll say when I was at UC, who played that was?
- 1:32Matter of fact, I think it was Pyu.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Uh we had a like a two hour and thirty wow.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Yeah, So for this one, what did you do to
- 1:42to stay loose and stay engaged? Uh?
- 1:44Speaker 2: Get during that? I think it was like an hour
- 1:46and three legs.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Like I was saying, mom once you once you get
- 1:49that moment, you kN it's really unexpected. So once you
- 1:52get into that moment, once you really put it in
- 1:54your head, like you got to be sitting here for
- 1:55a long time, you it just makes you do something.
- 1:57You know, just can keep your body on, get your
- 1:59freenses in, get the air gun and things like that.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and he any family come out to the game.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Oh yes, Uh, I had a lot of family, My
- 2:04mom and dad, my granny and my grandpa on both sides.
- 2:08Speaker 2: They all came up.
- 2:09Speaker 3: It was work fun where it was fish uh fih Nah.
- 2:11Speaker 4: He didn't come out to that, he had work. Uh,
- 2:12but he'll definitely be here the next home game.
- 2:14Speaker 2: That's cool. Yeah.
- 2:15Speaker 1: So what were your impressions having that weekend to watch football?
- 2:18Speaker 3: Ah?
- 2:19Speaker 2: It was great, man.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Now that I'm here in the NFL, you know, watching
- 2:23other teams play and you know, just I'll say, just
- 2:27keeping the right mindset and going out there and just
- 2:30being the best that you can be. You know, it's
- 2:33a lot of great cats out here, and you know,
- 2:34just uh me recognizing that game and applying it to minds,
- 2:38that's the biggest thing.
- 2:39Speaker 1: So it set the scene for me last year February.
- 2:41How did you watch Super Bowl fifty nine?
- 2:44Speaker 4: I actually I've watched a little bit of it, but
- 2:49I really couldn't lock in cause once I once I
- 2:51seen it go twenty one zero, I turned it out.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I knew it was over after that.
- 2:54Speaker 1: So it was a little What was your immediate takeaways
- 2:56without obviously knowing that these would be your.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Teammates defense win championships.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Did you ever did you see anything that you were like, yeah,
- 3:05I can play in that defense or I would love
- 3:06to be in the defensive.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Always.
- 3:09Speaker 4: You know, once you see, once you see guys doing
- 3:10the right things, you know, you always wander like could
- 3:13that be me?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Or I want I wanna be that one day?
- 3:15Speaker 4: So you know, I just watching them guys go out
- 3:17there and fight to the whistleblow, fight to the last man.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I loved everything about it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Have you had a chance to score Phildelphia yet?
- 3:23Speaker 3: Uh?
- 3:23Speaker 2: I know I haven't.
- 3:24Speaker 4: I'm I'm not i'm r. I'm really not that outside
- 3:27type of guy like realing home. But uh, sooner or later,
- 3:30I w I'll go outside.
- 3:31Speaker 1: It even restaurants, chief steaks, anything.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Like none of the Nah, i'm'a do that? This guy? Uh,
- 3:36how I got you? I got you?
- 3:37Speaker 1: So I understand you're also a video game fan. What's
- 3:40uh what's your video game of choice? And do you
- 3:42get after it with your teammates online?
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah, well I don't.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Well, me and Drew we we played a we played
- 3:48a little bit.
- 3:49Speaker 4: But i'm'a really like a ain C double a callor
- 3:51due the type guy, especially when the first drop.
- 3:54Speaker 2: When I was in the game. Uh, I would do.
- 3:55Speaker 4: AINC double A like constantly, so I'll just say it's
- 4:00double a, you know.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Uh, call of duty, Well, call of duty is really
- 4:02my favorite though.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Did you give yourself a boost the ninety nine?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Uh? Facts, I did do that. Uh definitely. That was
- 4:08the first thing I did once I got on there.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Uh, put all my ratings up, everything up, and I
- 4:12was ninety nine.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I know that if football wasn't your profession, you would
- 4:16like to play lacrosse.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah, so what drew you to that sport?
- 4:20Speaker 4: Just the physicality and it's really something gotta love something
- 4:23to do with football.
- 4:24Speaker 2: So you know, like if football was it my my
- 4:27go to, lacrosse will.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Definitely be it.
- 4:29Speaker 4: It's not as big as a football you know, but
- 4:32you know, just being physical and playing with your teammate, that's.
- 4:35Speaker 3: The main thing about it.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I love everything about my teammates.
- 4:38Speaker 4: I do anything for him, so, you know, just having
- 4:40that mindset of just you know, I'm a team guy.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I want this team first settlement.
- 4:45Speaker 1: What I found interesting about you is that you see
- 4:48you like the general manager aspect of the job and
- 4:51that's something that you have an interest in. What is
- 4:54it about that, profess like, y are you a good evaluator?
- 4:58Speaker 3: Like?
- 4:58Speaker 1: What is it about the job that really er drawn to?
- 5:02Speaker 4: I'll just say, m making a cause, you know, making
- 5:05a making a making a right cause.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I'll say that.
- 5:07Speaker 4: You know, uh, gems, you know they it takes a
- 5:09lot for them, you know, just to boil down and
- 5:12just soak in and just really think about what goes
- 5:15on in the processes and things like that.
- 5:16Speaker 3: So I'm really I would I like to think a
- 5:18little deeper.
- 5:19Speaker 2: So that's why I said I'd get to the manager.
- 5:21Speaker 1: So I assume you take your job doing when you're
- 5:23doing NCAA very seriously. When you're being a g yeah,
- 5:26definitely what what in your mind makes a good GM?
- 5:30Speaker 2: Accountability? You know, and love.
- 5:33Speaker 4: I'll definitely say, uh if you if you guys don't
- 5:35love you, then it's gonna be a a sad sight.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Defensive back George Christian Parker is somebody that I've talked
- 5:42to quite a bit over the past couple of years,
- 5:43and he's made a good impression on a lot of
- 5:45younger defensive backs. How has he helped your game?
- 5:48Speaker 4: Uh? He he he Didne helped it a lot, you know,
- 5:50just me coming in being a rooker that I am, uh,
- 5:53getting with him early before meetings and early before practice
- 5:56and things like that.
- 5:56Speaker 3: It really helped with game, uh to a to a t.
- 5:59Speaker 4: You know, well, I'm still learning a lot of things,
- 6:01but you know, just getting with him and you know,
- 6:03learning the basis. That's the That's the main thing about it.
- 6:05Cause once I get the basis, everything it's just football.
- 6:07Then it once I get everything slowed down, feel like
- 6:10I could play with my fastest.
- 6:11Speaker 1: What are those sessions like when you guys have the
- 6:13one on one.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it it's great. Man.
- 6:16Speaker 4: We take a lot of time, We take a lot
- 6:17of deep thinking. It really don't mainly it be about football,
- 6:21cause you know that's what we're here for. But you
- 6:22know it's about He talks to me about life too,
- 6:25and just just having that guy, having that coach on
- 6:28y on your side, knowing that he's here for you.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Owning off the field, that's the most important thing.
- 6:33Speaker 1: What's your dynamic when you're on the sideline, Jerry, are
- 6:35you giving feedback to quen Yon the dory what you're
- 6:38seeing out there?
- 6:39Speaker 2: How does that work? Yeah?
- 6:40Speaker 4: Always anything that I can do to help the guys.
- 6:42You know, I remember out there and do it and
- 6:44it's the vice versas for them.
- 6:45Speaker 1: What stands out to you about the Kansas City offense?
- 6:48Speaker 2: Pat Mahmes, that's all. H How are you how will
- 6:52you be spending the uh the flight? Watch him watching?
- 6:58What's on your pregame playlist? A lot of Young Boy
- 7:02and a lot of Kodac. What's any particular song I
- 7:09probably go to, no flocking or strilling? All right?
- 7:14Speaker 1: And lastly, what's one thing you're looking to improve on
- 7:16this week?
- 7:17Speaker 4: Uh?
- 7:18Speaker 2: I'll just say my focus.
- 7:22Speaker 4: I'm very locked in, but I feel like I'll be
- 7:25getting out of placement sometimes.
- 7:26Speaker 2: You know, my mom my mind likes to wonder.
- 7:28Speaker 4: A little bit, so, you know, just having that same
- 7:30focus and just staying the course.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Now, I know it's a hard question, but how do
- 7:34you how do you help that?
- 7:36Speaker 2: Like, how do you impact your focus? How do you
- 7:38what can you do?
- 7:39Speaker 4: Really just locking into myself, watching film, you know, getting
- 7:45my keys and things of the day.
- 7:46Speaker 2: All right, man, I appreciate Thank you. Y
