- 2:08And we say a big in the morning to my
- 2:11friend. Not even on the other end, right on the
- 2:14other side of the desk, which is brand new for
- 2:16me. Never has no agenda been hosted by two people
- 2:19in the same room at the same time. Matt Long,
- 2:22in the morning to you, my friend. In the morning
- 2:24to you. And I'm telling you what, this is a
- 2:27real honor to be in here. And I have to
- 2:29tell the producers that don't ask me about what the
- 2:32studio looks like. Adam made me sign an NDA when
- 2:37I came in. And so you could torture me, but
- 2:41I'm not giving any details out. So, Matt, I'm trying
- 2:46to give a little description of Matt. We only met
- 2:50a few years ago. Matt is... Let's see how you
- 2:55take this, Matt. Part Willie Nelson, part Hulk Hogan, activist,
- 2:59constitutionalist, brother in Christ. He and his wife, Gail, have
- 3:03organized every No Agenda Fredericksburg meetup, as far as I
- 3:07know. And... Man, it is so good to have you
- 3:11here. Matt has a radio show every single day, the
- 3:14Matt Long Show. It's also a podcast. And did we
- 3:17meet at church? Is that where we met the first
- 3:20time, Matt? Yeah, we did. We met at Bridge Church.
- 3:23I can't imagine anywhere else because I don't go anywhere
- 3:26else but the church and the radio station. That's right.
- 3:31And I've been on your radio show a couple times.
- 3:33It's on Hill Country Patriot FM, which is one of
- 3:37those classic American shows. small town radio stations i mean
- 3:42does it reaches kerrville fredericksburg is that kind of it
- 3:46gillespie kindle county figure uh draw a circle around kerrville
- 3:50about 60 miles yeah and it covers that area we
- 3:54have five stations but it's all it's owned by a
- 3:57couple uh Sweet little couple that owns all five stations,
- 4:01and it really is a – what's the best way
- 4:04to describe it? Mom and pop station. Mom and pop
- 4:06station held together with bailing wire and duct tape. Matt,
- 4:11your studio is literally in a shipping container. It's the
- 4:14funniest thing. It's so old school. So – What is
- 4:20so interesting about you, I mean, when I met you
- 4:22at the church, you know, you were very active. I
- 4:27think this was probably around the election, maybe four years
- 4:29ago. And, you know, you're like our go to guy
- 4:32for all things, local politics, the Constitution. You're just an
- 4:37amazing patriot. But you're the kind of patriot. that holds
- 4:41conservatives feet to the fire nonstop. I mean, you're like
- 4:45a thorn in their side. And I just, I love
- 4:47what you do. Well, thank you. And yeah, it is.
- 4:51I have more enemies at the Capitol in Austin than
- 4:53I have friends. But but yeah, I focus my my
- 4:57whole focus is Christian first conservative and then Texas politics.
- 5:05And so there's so many people doing national politics, you
- 5:08know, Adam and and. I would just be, even if
- 5:11I wasn't repeating them, even if not listening to them,
- 5:14I would probably be saying the same things most of
- 5:17those say. And we have a few good Texas people
- 5:20that cover Texas politics, but I think I'm the best
- 5:23among all those that cover Texas politics. We had a
- 5:27vote here and it's two to nothing. But But you're
- 5:32like a guy who can stuff. You make jellies for
- 5:35everybody. But you have a whole selection. I mean, you
- 5:40are – If you wanted a picture, a Norman Rockwell
- 5:43picture of an American, you're it, brother. You got your
- 5:46truck parked outside. I mean, everything is just so perfect.
- 5:50And I'm so excited to talk about some of these
- 5:51issues with you today. But the one other thing I
- 5:54want to mention is that I think it's once a
- 5:57year, but maybe multiple times a year for school kids,
- 6:00but also at the Capitol. You dress up as Ben
- 6:03Franklin. I do. I have been playing a Ben Franklin
- 6:08character for about 10 years, and it started out as
- 6:12a small project. It was three times every summer for
- 6:15a group in Georgetown that puts on Vacation Liberty School.
- 6:19Now, I know a lot of your producers got confused
- 6:21a while back when you were talking about Vacation Bible
- 6:24School. Yeah. The heathens that listen. to this that have
- 6:28no idea what Vacation Bible School is. Well, we do
- 6:31Vacation Liberty School, and as part of that program, Ben
- 6:35Franklin comes in and talks about charity and what is
- 6:38Ben Franklin's beliefs in charity. And then after doing that
- 6:42a few years, I started getting invitations from other people.
- 6:47And so The last two or three years, I've really
- 6:50gotten a lot of little gigs, and I just love
- 6:54it. It's absolutely a blast, and I have to shave
- 6:57my beard. My wife, we got married 26 years ago,
- 7:01and I hadn't shaved my beard since 1989 or so,
- 7:04and so I decided to go all in as Ben.
- 7:08I had to get rid of the beard. And so
- 7:10I shaved, and I don't think I even told Gail
- 7:13ahead of time. And she walked in, and I'm really
- 7:16glad she's usually armed. And the good Texas wife is.
- 7:21That's right. And so she came in, and I'm glad
- 7:23she wasn't armed because she didn't recognize me. Who's this
- 7:27stranger in my room? But I've been playing Ben Farnes.
- 7:30franklin and it is an absolute treat and i love
- 7:34every minute of it and i have to give credit
- 7:38to we have a local lady also goes to our
- 7:40church her name is cj latta and she started making
- 7:44me costumes because i started out ben franklin with a
- 7:48halloween costume from amazon and Yeah. And but CJ, I
- 7:53now have I mean, I got like six outfits when
- 7:57you dress up as Ben. I mean, you're Ben. I
- 8:00mean, you look like him. You walk like him. You're
- 8:02maybe about the same size that he was. And. We
- 8:06had coffee a few, what was it, last week or
- 8:08so? And this is really when it popped in my
- 8:10mind. Like, man, I'd love to have Matt on the
- 8:12show with me. And we're having coffee at Clear River
- 8:16here on Main Street. Well, coffee is a big word.
- 8:20It was basically a shake that tasted like coffee. And
- 8:23you said, hey, man... Can you help me with some
- 8:26of your AI agents? And can you download these 15,000
- 8:30documents on Ben Franklin from the Yale Library? Are you
- 8:35legally in trouble now? No, man. It's for personal use.
- 8:39It was for personal use. Because you literally know everything
- 8:42about Ben Franklin. I mean, it's amazing. I know a
- 8:45lot, but. Definitely not everything there is to know. But,
- 8:49yeah, I love – and I don't read books about
- 8:51Ben Franklin written by other people. I read his writings
- 8:55and his works, and it just gives you – it
- 8:58gets me into his head. And then the interesting thing
- 9:02is when I get into the costume – it's more
- 9:06than i just look like him i'm you become him
- 9:09i become him yeah and i guess someone told me
- 9:11years ago and i don't have any kind of theater
- 9:13background well i have a little bit but they told
- 9:15me well you're a character actor and i said well
- 9:18i don't know i just get into when i'm in
- 9:20costume i'm that person yeah and that even bothers me
- 9:23when people address me as matt when i'm in It's
- 9:27like, who are you talking about? But, yeah, I've got
- 9:31a big event coming up here on September 19th. I'm
- 9:34really excited about it. I've got a new presentation. It's
- 9:37Liberty in Action, We the People, another grassroots organization, conservative
- 9:43grassroots organization here. And they're having a big fundraiser. and
- 9:47uh tom homan's gonna be there and uh that's chip
- 9:51roy tom homan's the uh dhs guy yeah dhs guy
- 9:55i have spent a day with him before he's quite
- 9:58a character yeah and um
- 10:00We've got a lot of big Texas politicians, Don Huffines.
- 10:04Now, wait a minute. Don Huffines... He is currently the
- 10:07interim comptroller. Yes. And I think he has to do
- 10:10some kind of election. I'm not quite sure why. But
- 10:13isn't he the guy that also bought Epstein's Ranch in
- 10:15Arizona? Yes, he did. Yes, he did. How's he feeling
- 10:20about that? You know, I tried to get an interview.
- 10:23I've had him on my program a number of times.
- 10:25And after that broke, I called him and I... I
- 10:28was never able to arrange anything after that. But, I
- 10:31mean, come on. That's what Texans do. You buy ranches.
- 10:35Yeah. You know, and New Mexico is kind of a
- 10:37cool place. You dig up the dead bodies, you know,
- 10:40and then, you know, get some cattle on there. I
- 10:43was really surprised at the reaction to that. Oh, everyone
- 10:47is a meat-disguised. creepy and you know that's what i
- 10:51heard everywhere oh don huffines oh boy he's part of
- 10:54it epstein like dude he's like a like a mini
- 10:58man Yeah, he is. He's like a petite male, but
- 11:01he's super energetic, loves running the money for Texas. And
- 11:06he doesn't need money himself. I think he's quite wealthy.
- 11:10And I voted for him like, yeah, that's the guy.
- 11:12I mean, that's the guy you want running our money.
- 11:15But people have no idea. They just go off in
- 11:17conspiracy theory land like, well, you know, some guy from
- 11:20Texas. Texas bought it and it's no good and he's
- 11:21covering everything up like yeah I don't think so and
- 11:24you know I know Don and his wife real well
- 11:27he has a twin brother really yes he does he
- 11:30has a twin brother and you can tell them apart
- 11:33but boy they look awfully a lot alike and they
- 11:36come from the Huffines family up in Dallas people get
- 11:40real concerned that is at the Huffines out of Houston.
- 11:44And so you got to be real careful. They're the
- 11:47Dallas Huffines. Okay. And yeah, their father made a bunch
- 11:50of money. Let me guess. Oil? Just guessing. You know,
- 11:54cars, I think. Oh, really? I think he was an
- 11:57auto dealer or is. I'm not sure where they got
- 11:59it all, but I'm sure there was some oil in
- 12:01there somewhere. Yeah. Yeah. So whenever there's elections, you're the
- 12:06guy. You talk about the elections. You do registration drives
- 12:12at the church. And something happened this week with the
- 12:16Supreme Court. I'm sure you're up to speed on it.
- 12:19I got a clip here, and this is about the
- 12:21mail-in ballots, and this is really interesting. The U.S. Supreme
- 12:24Court issued an emergency order yesterday that allows the Trump
- 12:28administration to move forward for now with plans to restrict
- 12:30mail-in voting ahead of the midterm elections. It's a ruling
- 12:34opponents say would bring chaos to the election process only
- 12:37days before ballots in some states are mailed out. Our
- 12:41White House correspondent, Liz Landers, has more. The ruling allows
- 12:44the administration to proceed with an executive order President Trump
- 12:48signed in March directing the U.S. Postal Service to determine
- 12:51which voters should receive mail-in ballots. It also directs the
- 12:55Department of Homeland Security to build a database of U.S.
- 12:59citizens who are eligible to vote. There are a lot
- 13:01of moving parts, and here to help explain it all
- 13:03is Steve Vladek. He's a constitutionalist. constitutional law professor at
- 13:06Georgetown University Law Center. Steve, thank you for joining the
- 13:09program this evening. Thanks for having me. So there are
- 13:12two lawsuits that are challenging the president's executive order about
- 13:16mail-in ballots. The Supreme Court decision yesterday had to do
- 13:19with a group of states that sued, while the other
- 13:22case that was brought by the League of Women Voters.
- 13:25What did the Supreme Court's ruling tell the states? Yeah,
- 13:29so the Supreme Court's ruling only applied Liz to the
- 13:32state's lawsuit and it only said that the states had
- 13:35sued too early because they brought their lawsuit before the
- 13:38US Postal Service issued their final rule, which of course
- 13:42they did last Friday. So it was, I think, a
- 13:44win for President Trump, but a very time limited one.
- 13:48It didn't say anything about whether the under underlying executive
- 13:51order is lawful. It didn't say anything about whether the
- 13:54new Postal Service rule is lawful. That issue is now
- 13:57going to be litigated probably pretty quickly in both of
- 14:00the cases that are back before Judge Talwani in Boston.
- 14:04Now, have you followed this case at all, Matt? I
- 14:06have been. Yeah, absolutely. And I don't think it's going
- 14:09to have much effect on Texas because we have pretty
- 14:13strict mail-in ballot rules. But I know, like my friends
- 14:17out in the West Coast, Everybody gets a ballot in
- 14:21their mail. Everybody, no matter who you are. There's just
- 14:23like stacks of them out there. And there's got to
- 14:26be something in between there. I have voted by mail
- 14:30before living overseas and so have done that. In fact,
- 14:34one presidential election, it must have been 90 years. 88
- 14:39or 90. We got the ballots on the day that
- 14:42the results were released. In other words, we got our
- 14:45ballots from the embassy on Wednesday after the election. No
- 14:49way. And I'm sitting around with all my American friends,
- 14:52and they're like, well, why bother? And I said, oh,
- 14:54hell no. We're going to. You're going to. We're going
- 14:57to fill these all out. We're going to send them
- 14:59in. We're going to make them do their work. work,
- 15:01and so we did that. But mail-in ballots, I think,
- 15:05are probably the most important. easiest way to steal an
- 15:09election and to get dishonest results. And I think we're
- 15:13maybe even thinking about tightening up. Well, we did get
- 15:16a notice recently from the Secretary of States about mail-in
- 15:20ballots. They really need to have a postmark on them.
- 15:24What happens in a your ballot at the post office
- 15:32and they'll just take it from the inbox and put
- 15:35it into or take it the outbox and put it
- 15:37into the inbox and they don't even stamp it and
- 15:39uh i have a problem with that and so the
- 15:42secretary of state this year issued a thing saying all
- 15:45right y'all got to pay more attention to the uh
- 15:48postmarks on that but yeah i think uh the west
- 15:52coast and a couple of other states that we've got
- 15:55got to do something about the mail-in ballots so what's
- 15:57interesting about this supreme court case because of course rob
- 16:00the constitutional lawyer do you know rob carty i've met
- 16:03him at a at a meetup one of the great
- 16:05meetups in fredericksburg fantastic meetups yeah he's with suits and
- 16:10boots if you got hit by a truck call rob
- 16:12there you go he'll get you the most money ever
- 16:16um he says The reason why the Supreme Court wrote
- 16:18this opinion is because they didn't lose on the merit
- 16:21of the case. This was purely for standing. In other
- 16:24words, because the states hadn't been hurt. Nothing has happened
- 16:27to them. So they just jumped the gun, and Rob
- 16:31thinks that they won't even be able to bring anything
- 16:34back to the Supreme Court until after the election. Which
- 16:39is interesting. So this seems like one of the most
- 16:42phenomenal pieces of lawfare done by Republicans for once because
- 16:45it's always the Democrats who have all the lawfare on
- 16:48their side. And I think this clip explains… exactly what
- 16:52the executive order does. Okay, so let's talk about that
- 16:55executive order. There's another part of President Trump's EO that
- 16:59bars the Postal Service from delivering ballots to people who
- 17:02are not on federal lists of eligible voters. And it
- 17:06also will direct the Homeland Security Department to create a
- 17:10list of US citizens who are eligible to vote. How
- 17:13are these actions affected by the ruling yesterday? So for
- 17:16now, they're not. I mean, the most important thing that
- 17:19folks should know is that the status quo, which is
- 17:22the executive order is not in effect and the USPS
- 17:24rule is not in effect, is still the status quo.
- 17:28All the Supreme Court did yesterday was pause one of
- 17:30the two injunctions against the executive order. executive order. There's
- 17:35still a second injunction blocking the executive order from going
- 17:39into effect. And Liz, the rule itself says it can't
- 17:42go into effect until that injunction, too, is no longer
- 17:46in effect. So we really are not at the end
- 17:49of the story. We're really more in the middle of
- 17:51the story where there's going to be more litigation and
- 17:54where it's possible that these people are going to be
- 17:55in effect. These questions are back in the Supreme Court,
- 17:57perhaps by this time next week. So the way it's
- 17:59going to work is the Postal Service will only send
- 18:03out will only send on, I guess, mail mail in
- 18:07ballots to people who are on their list. Hmm. And
- 18:10I think what all of these people forget – wasn't
- 18:12Benjamin Franklin who started the post office? Why do I
- 18:15think that? He was the first postmaster general under the
- 18:18British. We were still the colonies. It was 20 years
- 18:23before freedom and before our liberty, and he was, yeah,
- 18:26the postmaster general. But it's like postmaster general is because
- 18:31– This was like the military in a way, right?
- 18:34The U.S. Post Office is a constitutional thing. I think
- 18:37they may actually have the power to do this. I
- 18:41think they do. I think they do. And it's going
- 18:44to be phenomenal because if they don't send ballots to
- 18:47people who they don't deem as, hey, you're not on
- 18:50the list, then – it just won't happen and that's
- 18:53always been the problem and so all these states are
- 18:55crying like well you can't do that well yeah why
- 18:58don't you then don't use the post office yeah go
- 19:00and go and deliver it so here's the the attorney
- 19:04general of arizona because of course you know the and
- 19:07by the way Mail-in ballot scam has been used by
- 19:10Democrats and Republicans alike. This is not like a new
- 19:13thing. This is – I think Florida probably has won
- 19:16more elections with sketchy mail-in ballots than any state in
- 19:20the union. But they've come up with some wording to
- 19:23make sure everybody knows that this is not going to
- 19:26work. It's horrible. It's a bad thing. We have to
- 19:28fight this. this. We will fight this. The good news
- 19:31is basically the because the Postal Service rulemaking is now
- 19:36in effect and is ripe, we can go to court
- 19:39and challenge it. So, you know, look for that very,
- 19:44very soon because, you know, this is ridiculous. It's outrageous.
- 19:48It's unconstitutional. Right. Elections are run by states. And this
- 19:53is what I love. Yeah. You're still running your election.
- 19:56Just you can't send it through the post office and
- 19:59have it delivered in
- 20:00Unless the people are on the list. I'm just wondering
- 20:03if it's been years since we've had any episodes of
- 20:07going postal. Yeah, what happened to that? People just stopped
- 20:11going postal. I think now they're just going pregnant mom.
- 20:15I don't know what that is. That's a good point.
- 20:19What happened to those dudes going postal? I don't know.
- 20:23Maybe they got a raise. And what they are trying
- 20:26to do is undermine the right of people in this
- 20:30country to vote. And they're trying to make it harder
- 20:33for our veterans. Oh, there it is. People in rural
- 20:36Arizona to vote. And we're going to fight that. You
- 20:38know, obviously... As you point out, elections in America are
- 20:42run by states. It's a federalist country. But one thing
- 20:45you said there really stands out, Attorney General. First time
- 20:48I hear someone on a liberal station call it a
- 20:51federalist country. What happened to your democracy? Yeah, no kidding.
- 20:55Are run by states. It's a federalist country. But one
- 20:58thing you said there really stands out, Attorney General. You
- 21:01said 80 to 90 percent of voters in Arizona cast
- 21:04their ballots by mail. OK, as in that's the norm.
- 21:07That's how everybody does it. So can you just play
- 21:09the hypothetical with me? If this went ahead, OK, and
- 21:12you're 44 days out from everything starting in early October
- 21:16and you had to comply, OK? Would you even be
- 21:18able to run an election? What would you do? I
- 21:20mean, I think it's a great question. There's no such
- 21:23thing. It's a great question. It would cause absolute and
- 21:27total chaos. Chaos! Because the people of my state are
- 21:30literally going to be waiting by their mailbox, waiting for
- 21:36that – ballot to arrive and their expectation is that
- 21:41it'll arrive and they'll fill it out and they'll put
- 21:45it in the mail or they'll put it in a
- 21:46drop box and that'll be that. That's how we vote.
- 21:50It's how we have voted in Arizona since 1992. And
- 21:53interestingly enough, it was pioneered here by Republicans. Yeah, exactly.
- 21:58That's why it's stop altogether. Is this... When did this
- 22:01really start? I mean, I voted by absentia is what
- 22:04it was called when I was in Europe. And you
- 22:07would get an absentee ballot because you're out of the
- 22:09country. Was it really just COVID that accelerated that? Or
- 22:13is she right that Arizona has been doing this forever?
- 22:16I really don't know. I think a lot of these
- 22:18mail-in places were way before COVID. I'm pretty sure Oregon
- 22:21was before COVID. Yeah. And it's this movement of, well,
- 22:46it just makes it easy to vote. And I'm not
- 22:48sure if voting should be that easy. I think it
- 22:52should. My opinion is we need to have a national
- 22:55holiday. All vote on one day. All go in. I'm
- 22:58with you on that. And if you are disabled, differently
- 23:02abled, or if you're overseas, which both Adam and I
- 23:08and many in my family have experienced that being overseas,
- 23:11but we still want to participate. There are some legitimate
- 23:14reasons, and that is where Texas is right now. But
- 23:19if you're over 65, I think all you have to
- 23:22do is ask for it. Right. Oh, really? Yeah, it
- 23:25is now. I've got an age on it in Texas.
- 23:28So, yeah, if you're over 65 or a certain age,
- 23:31you just tell them you're old and you can't go
- 23:34in. Oh, we should bring that up to parity with
- 23:36Social Security, man. That should be 67. Is that where
- 23:39we're at now? That's where we're at, 67. Oh, man,
- 23:41I've got six more years to go. I can't stand
- 23:43it. Bless your heart. Here's ABC breaking down the ruling.
- 23:46This odd situation. where we're defending the law against The
- 23:51federal government. I'm sorry, that's not the one. This is
- 23:54the one with them breaking it down. Andrew, this was
- 23:56a six to three decision by the Supreme Court with
- 23:59the conservative justices voting in President Trump's favor to allow
- 24:03him now to begin to implement some key portions of
- 24:06that March 2026 executive order that imposed some new regulations
- 24:12around military. mail-in voting in the United States just now
- 24:15ahead of the November elections. This was an executive order
- 24:19that was challenged by a coalition of Democratic-led states, in
- 24:22their view, as an unconstitutional infringement of how elections are
- 24:27administered. But the Supreme Court, in its decision today, said
- 24:31that the executive order actually hasn't had any bite yet.
- 24:35It hasn't harmed any of the states just yet. And
- 24:38therefore, the president should be able to continue with his
- 24:42policies as he sees fit. What are those policies? The
- 24:45president, with his executive order, is now going to be
- 24:48allowed to direct the Department of Homeland Security to compile
- 24:52a citizenship list, a federal citizenship list. and to distribute
- 24:56it to the states, to also then direct the attorney
- 24:59general to prosecute any state and any state official that
- 25:03would happen to give a mail-in ballot to someone who
- 25:06is not on those citizenship lists, and to work with
- 25:09the U.S. Postal Service to come up with new standardized
- 25:12regulations for mail-in ballots. How do we feel about that,
- 25:16Matt, about the government making a list of anything? Yeah,
- 25:20I guess when it comes to voting, I don't have
- 25:22a problem with that. I think there should be a
- 25:24database. Every state has a database. I know the Constitution
- 25:28says that the method or the means of the election
- 25:32is up to the states, and so I see that
- 25:35where they're coming from, the constitutional yet. But what struck
- 25:39me on this were the two things they. brought up
- 25:41one was who had standing yeah and the other one
- 25:45that he just mentioned was nothing's happened yet and so
- 25:48can you sue somebody for something you think they might
- 25:53do i mean i've got a neighbor you know that
- 25:56might do something in my you know throw his trash
- 25:59over my fence yeah do do can i go to
- 26:02the house and then i'm going to the house and
- 26:02then i'm going to the house and then ahead and
- 26:03sue him now for something he might do in new
- 26:05york get it in new york maybe i don't know
- 26:08there you go i get it but you know we
- 26:09tried that uh recently and it was actually successful and
- 26:13that was here locally where they're trying to stop the
- 26:16solar farm north of town right and one of the
- 26:19arguments from that company was we haven't done anything yet
- 26:23how can you as for something where thinking about it.
- 26:26We haven't even done yet. What happened to that? You
- 26:28know, the judge sided with the plaintiffs. Man, I'm learning
- 26:32legal language. Careful, Matt. This is going to ruin your
- 26:36rep, man. That's right. The judge sided with the plaintiffs,
- 26:40and I think there's a hold on it right now.
- 26:42I do not know all the details on it, but
- 26:45I think the good guys came out on top. Yeah,
- 26:47and I think the real concern there was not so
- 26:50much the solar farm, but the big battery, the best,
- 26:52the big electrical storage. Battery energy storage. Oh, there you
- 26:57go. Thank you. But they changed the name, so we
- 26:59don't have to worry about it anymore. Oh, it's not
- 27:01called BESS anymore? No, it's not called BESS. And don't
- 27:03ask me what the new name is. The Thing. The
- 27:05Thing. Here's the... details about DHS. The Supreme Court did.
- 27:10Is it temporarily allowed... Trump's executive order severely restricting mail
- 27:15voting to go into effect. It said it was too
- 27:18early for states to challenge this. And this leads to
- 27:21a lot of uncertainty going into the midterms because the
- 27:25Trump executive order would radically restrict vote by mail. It
- 27:29would instruct the Department of Homeland Security to create lists
- 27:33of voters. that deem citizens, these lists are likely to
- 27:36be highly inaccurate based on the fact that the Department
- 27:39of Homeland Security has already made. You're making faces at
- 27:42me. I'm wondering why they're going to be highly inaccurate.
- 27:46Based on what? What? Based on democracy now, of course.
- 27:51They know what they're talking about. Are you kidding me?
- 27:54To create lists of voters that deem citizens, these lists
- 27:57are likely to be highly inaccurate based on the fact
- 27:59that the Department of Homeland Security has already made these
- 28:02egregious claims of voter fraud that have turned out not
- 28:06to be true. I don't remember the Department of Homeland
- 28:09Security making... claims of voter fraud who know maybe todd
- 28:13or uh holman maybe holman said something i don't know
- 28:17oh holman's got loose lips man he does shoot off
- 28:20all the time and says stuff not that he cares
- 28:23but he does say stuff And then it says that
- 28:26the Postal Service can only deliver mail ballots based on
- 28:29these DHA's lists. And moreover, it will only deliver mail
- 28:32ballots in states that hand over their voter rolls, which
- 28:35includes sensitive personal information to the federal government. This is
- 28:38essentially a form of extortion. The Department of Foreign Security
- 28:42is trying to create these new lists. of voters in
- 28:45each state that it claims are citizens. The problem is
- 28:47that that's not the job of DHS. They don't have
- 28:50this information. It's not their constitutional role. They've also made
- 28:54these ludicrous claims of voter fraud. For example, they claim
- 28:57that 15,000 people, non-citizens, were registered to vote in Nevada.
- 29:01When a closer look was taken at that data, it
- 29:04turned out 185 non-citizens were registered. Oh, that's okay. It's
- 29:08just 185. It's never wide scale, and it's never large.
- 29:12It's all just little bits and bobs here and there.
- 29:14So they had dramatically overstated the number of non-citizen voting,
- 29:18and that's the fear here, is that if voters... voting
- 29:22proceeds based on these DHS lists. It's going to be
- 29:25inaccurate. It's going to be unconstitutional. And a lot of
- 29:28legit... I don't see the unconstitutional angle at all. Yeah,
- 29:33if they pull up that manner of elections being up
- 29:36to the states, and I don't have the exact language,
- 29:39but that is in the Constitution. Right, but they can
- 29:42still hold their election. It's just you can't use the
- 29:44U.S. Postal Service without them being on the list. And
- 29:47otherwise, go to Congress. uh, higher FedEx. Yeah, there you
- 29:52go. DHS lists. It's going to be inaccurate. It's going
- 29:55to be unconstitutional. And a lot of legitimate American voters
- 29:59will,
- 30:00are going to be wrongly labeled as non-citizens and unable
- 30:03to vote, either based on shoddy data or an intentional
- 30:08attempt by the trump administration to prevent people from there
- 30:11it is there it is oh yes of course this
- 30:13is how trump is going to steal the election you
- 30:15watch there's going to be a a j6 or left
- 30:18uh insurrection you just watch election deniers election deniers here's
- 30:23here's my favorite though we'll wrap this one up with
- 30:25leticia james of course She is the AG in New
- 30:28York. What does this mean? It comes right after you
- 30:31and a group of attorneys general filed a new lawsuit
- 30:33to block the Postal Service rule from taking effect. It's
- 30:37not. clear you'll get any relief until as early as
- 30:40next week. So what happens between now and then? So
- 30:43I and my Democratic attorneys general will continue to challenge
- 30:47this rule because this rule will create nothing but chaos
- 30:50and confusion. Chaos and confusion. Mark it down. That's that's
- 30:54going to be the the term of the day. Chaos
- 30:57and confusion. Who doesn't love some good alliteration. In the
- 31:00state of North Carolina, in less than 11 days, they
- 31:03will mail out a ballot to individuals who are in
- 31:07armed forces as well as to citizens in these United
- 31:11States. And it's critically important that individuals understand that the
- 31:15only reason why this rule was created is because individuals,
- 31:19particularly those in the White House believe that they cannot
- 31:22run on their record and therefore they have to steal
- 31:24this election. This is nothing more than an attempt to
- 31:26suppress the right to vote. And I and my Democratic
- 31:29colleagues will fight this all the way to the United
- 31:32States Supreme Court. Let's be clear. The United States Postal
- 31:35Service and the president of these United States does not
- 31:39have jurisdiction over the elections. it's states and it's in
- 31:44the constitution and that's why it's critically important that individuals
- 31:47understand that states have the power and the duty and
- 31:51the responsibility to administer elections not the president and definitely
- 31:56not the postal system there you go that's can i
- 31:59add one more thing to this please the list they're
- 32:02talking about about these highly inaccurate lists. Every single state
- 32:06keeps a list of registered voters. In fact, in Texas,
- 32:10I can ask for that list and get it, and
- 32:14it's not that big a deal. And so that list
- 32:17would just be a matter of 50 different states sending
- 32:23a zip file on off to DC, put it in
- 32:26a drop box and say, these are all our registered
- 32:29voters. It's not like they're going to have to create
- 32:33something new or spend years getting it all together. Just
- 32:37send them the list. And then I guess what DHS
- 32:40is going to do, I guess they have the list
- 32:42of who has who has citizenship. I would presume somebody
- 32:46has a list of that somewhere or at least I
- 32:48mean, I don't know. Yeah. Is there a list of
- 32:51that? I presume so. Bound to be. Yeah, especially if
- 32:54they're naturalized. If they've been naturalized citizens, they've come in
- 32:59and, you know, taken the courses and answered, passed the
- 33:02test and gotten sworn in. Those people's names are on
- 33:05a list. Yeah. So they're going to do a little
- 33:08a little diff, a little A, B, and then that's
- 33:10it. You're on the list. You're good to go. But
- 33:12this is how they're going to steal the election. Of
- 33:14course. Of course. So there was something else. This president.
- 33:19I'm going to miss him just for all his wackiness
- 33:21and for the crazy stuff he does. And people don't
- 33:24realize that, you know, there's so much hate. Yeah, he's
- 33:27not acting presidential. This is something that, you know, I
- 33:31think you and I both know a lot about when
- 33:33it comes to ranchers. We have a lot of friends
- 33:36who are ranchers, you know, the. Texas is ranching. You
- 33:40know, Texas has fed the country, the entire country in
- 33:43the past. So this is the beef deal that the
- 33:46president announced. I'll play a little backgrounder here. Let's turn
- 33:50to Washington now. A new push by the Trump administration
- 33:53to curb inflation at the grocery store by lowering beef
- 33:56prices. Eamon Jabberts joins us. He has the story for
- 33:58us. Eamon. Yeah, good morning. David, President Trump is turning
- 34:01his attention to rising costs for voters today, announcing what
- 34:05he calls a deal to substantially lower the price of
- 34:08ground beef for working American families. The president said on
- 34:12social media that the U.S. will allow up to 300,000
- 34:15metric tons of product for ground beef to be imported.
- 34:18By the way, 300,000 tons of ground beef. Do you
- 34:22know how many cattle that is? I don't know. It's
- 34:25over a million head. Over a million cows. - That's
- 34:29a lot of cows, brother. I'm not quite sure where
- 34:32that's coming from. And that's the point. - With no
- 34:35out of quota tariff, And he said that we have
- 34:37a commitment that this beef will be sold at 25
- 34:40percent below current market prices. But all this presents something
- 34:45of a mystery here, guys. In his social media post,
- 34:48the president didn't say who he had concluded this deal
- 34:51with. And he did not specify who exactly had made
- 34:54a commitment to sell that below market beef. Now, CNBC
- 34:57has reached out to the White House with questions about
- 35:00this. We've gotten no response so far. And we are
- 35:03contacting the major beef importers to see if any of
- 35:06those companies were will confirm that they are party to
- 35:09an agreement with the White House. We'll let you know
- 35:11if we get any more information, guys. But overall, this
- 35:14really symbolizes the president's concern going into those midterm elections
- 35:18that prices are still too high for consumers. Yeah. This,
- 35:22of course, is about the so-called affordability crisis. Now, what
- 35:26happens when the president makes an announcement like this? The
- 35:29price of beef dropped immediately. I mean, the cattle futures
- 35:33drop, everything drops. And so people are waiting for the
- 35:36other shoe to drop. And I was kind of... Stunned
- 35:40by the thing that was CNBC saying, well, we can
- 35:44actually find who this deal is with. Some people said
- 35:47Argentina. I saw memes everywhere like we're going to get
- 35:51poisoned beef from Argentina. The president's going to kill us
- 35:55with this subpar beef. And then I get a boots
- 35:58on the ground from a no agenda rancher, not just
- 36:01any rancher, a regenerative zoomer rancher. And he sent in
- 36:06an audio report. Hey, Adam, this is the anonymous rancher
- 36:10from Northwest River, picture Woodgate. Quick, down a report. Boots
- 36:14on the ground. Just keep in mind that I have
- 36:17actually a Zoomer, so apparently after Trump's announcement, I kind
- 36:23of took it in no agenda vein that Trump likes
- 36:27to put stuff on social media and let it ruminate
- 36:30and see what happens. You know, he didn't actually do
- 36:34anything as far as I know to purchase the... The
- 36:37beef, but he did truth it from what I've heard.
- 36:41And that's just dropped the market along with the class
- 36:44closing. I take a different point of view than most
- 36:48people. I am regenerative. We've been taking these last couple
- 36:52of years to switch our dirt around, to get it
- 36:54ready to be operating low cost. Even after the markets
- 36:59have turned down, the cattle market's been high a year
- 37:03longer than it should have been. Usually the cattle market
- 37:06runs on 11-year cycles, give or take. So we've been,
- 37:10I think we're year 12 of a high market. So
- 37:13we should have crashed already based on just market fluctuations.
- 37:17See, I didn't know that. I didn't know there was
- 37:20an 11-year cycle to the cattle market. you know i
- 37:22think and i'm thinking we're seeing this a lot these
- 37:25days people not understanding the cycle of of different things
- 37:30like that the uh the economic cycle and how drought
- 37:34might affect the cattle crops and so the the cattle
- 37:38and so the price goes up this year and oh
- 37:40my goodness and then but then things uh there is
- 37:43a natural cycle to these things and interfering with it
- 37:48is a is is a no-no it's against nature it
- 37:50is it is yo dude self-meddling when they so our
- 37:54anonymous zoomer rancher goes on because you know i've talked
- 37:59about the commodity cowboys these are the people who really
- 38:02they're not like coal at KNC. They're not like this
- 38:05rancher, regenerative, feeding their local community. And you don't have
- 38:10to bring your cattle to one of the big three
- 38:12processors. In fact, coal is doing quite well. I mean,
- 38:16he's successful. He's not going to be a billionaire, but
- 38:20he doesn't care. He wants to do this. He loves
- 38:23what he does. And You got these commodity cowboys. who
- 38:26just, you know, they stuff their cow with $1,100 worth
- 38:30of Cheerios, and I'm not kidding, I've talked to Texas
- 38:32Slim. When they go to the stockyard, they feed them
- 38:35Cheerios to fatten them up and get them to the
- 38:37right weight and everything. So that's not your grass-fed, grain
- 38:41finish. No, that's Cheerio cows. And they're just concerned about
- 38:46what they put in and what they get out. They
- 38:48take it off to JBS and one of these other
- 38:50guys, which is cartel. And I think that they're actually
- 38:54working on breaking up some stuff with those guys because
- 38:58they're not even American companies. They're owned by Brazil and
- 39:01by China. And so our anonymous Zoomer Rancher says something
- 39:05about that here. Cattle people are… uh commodity cowboys that's
- 39:09that's true a lot of them you know they sit
- 39:12and they watch the market report on tv and you
- 39:14know they can go and complain to everybody else about
- 39:18the the markets and the weather and the government the
- 39:22three things you can't uh change whereas you know us
- 39:25regenerative sell-by Find it, people. We're going to focus on
- 39:30what we can change, and we're going to make a
- 39:33profit while doing it. The only... Limit to your success
- 39:37is the creativity of your mind. Yeah, exactly. Be creative.
- 39:40That's what an American does. You get creative. And he
- 39:43has some issues. It's not easy, but he's ready for
- 39:46the challenge. I'm young. I'm not even 30 yet. Bam.
- 39:50And I see nothing but opportunities in my future. That's
- 39:53what I love. I see a lot of guys that
- 39:55are fixing to retire. And... Boy, you give us some
- 39:59time and...
- 40:00you know we i don't know if we're going to
- 40:02be owning a whole lot of land but you know
- 40:04if we could keep our landowners happy i can see
- 40:08us releasing as much ground as we can get a
- 40:10hold of because there's not a whole lot of us
- 40:12young guys wanting to come back yet now the labor
- 40:15part that's going to be tough we use a lot
- 40:18of h2a labor from south africa and uh Different culture.
- 40:21It's hard to keep those guys from wrecking equipment and
- 40:25everything around them, but it's all just a learning curve.
- 40:28Sky's the limit when it comes to ranching, if you
- 40:30ask me. But Otivus Rancher, out. All right. See, I
- 40:34love that guy. So can I ask you a technical
- 40:36question? Yeah. Did you run that through like Enhance? Adobe,
- 40:41yeah. Enhance. All right. I could tell the little signs
- 40:44of it. Yeah. It was really noisy, his audio, and
- 40:47I tried to clean up as best as possible. Yeah.
- 40:51He's a rancher. I can't feed a cow. By the
- 40:54way, I don't think it's Honey Nut Cheerios, someone asked
- 40:57me in the troll room. I think Froot Loops would
- 41:00have been better. Can you imagine cutting your steak up
- 41:03and it being red, green, and yellow? I think that
- 41:06would be cool. I think I'd want some Froot Loops
- 41:10steaks. Oh, man. General Scott Bessent. You've changed his name.
- 41:19You know, when you're on the podcast with Jimmy, you
- 41:21don't ever call him the gay general. Well, I get
- 41:24crap for it. Like we have the anonymous gay accountant.
- 41:28And, you know, I'm sure he's not happy with me
- 41:30calling him that. Yeah. And then I'm focusing too much
- 41:33on the gay part. It's more like Elizabeth Warren's brother
- 41:37because, man, he has a weird-looking face. He has that
- 41:40same kind of shaky demeanor when he's talking. But the
- 41:44man is doing some interesting stuff. He is. And we
- 41:47have a new... a new war operation. We have a
- 41:51new D-Day Operation Economic Outcast. Today we're launching Today, today
- 41:58Who gave him some cojones? Today we're announcing this. I
- 42:04am Scott Messant. Today we are launching Operation Economic Outcast
- 42:09to foreclose every other option available to the Iranian regime.
- 42:15Treasury has mapped every node, every facilitator, and every network
- 42:20that Iran has used to smuggle oil and evade sanctions.
- 42:25Beginning today, the actions of Treasury and other agencies will
- 42:30tighten the noose and block every potential source of revenue
- 42:33that funds the IRGC and the evil Iranian regime. We
- 42:38are enforcing a zero leakage approach. There will be no
- 42:42minimal breathing space for the regime to rebuild its capacity
- 42:46to inflict terror against America and the world. You got
- 42:50to wonder how corrupt this business with Iran has been
- 42:53throughout the decades when really all you need to do
- 42:56is just turn off the money. No one was doing
- 42:59that. We've had all kinds of Treasury secretaries. I mean,
- 43:02the dollar is the money that people use to buy
- 43:07and sell oil. How come this never happened before? It
- 43:10seems like a no brainer. It does. And you know
- 43:12what? I'm telling you, it's interesting that China came out
- 43:16within minutes. I mean, it was literally within the hour.
- 43:20China came on and said, yeah, no, we're not going
- 43:22to we're not going to stick to that. We will
- 43:24continue our support of Iran. And then on the very
- 43:27same day, the CIA flies into Moscow. Into Moscow. Listen,
- 43:34this is scary for me to say, but this type
- 43:37of action, is this opening the door for people? A
- 43:41literal, true world war? No, no. No? No, because we're
- 43:46already at D-Day. We're ending the war right away. Listen
- 43:49to the general. Operation Economic Outcast. That's the administration's new
- 43:54name for its plan to choke off Iran economically by
- 43:57targeting any country that does business with Tehran. In the
- 44:01Second World War, D-Day marked the historic beginning of a
- 44:05campaign with our allies to target and drive the enemy
- 44:10from its positions, including those in third countries. Today, in
- 44:15that same spirit, we are launching an economic onslaught against
- 44:20Iran's financial connections around the globe. That's, I mean, so
- 44:25there's no war. No, there's no world war. It's over.
- 44:29We have D-Day. D-Day. D-Day is here. We're liberating. We're
- 44:32liberating the world. And maybe we are. I mean, this
- 44:36is it's just like there's enough oil in the Gulf
- 44:39and it's going through pipelines and we're bringing it through
- 44:42the southern route. You know, these guys, they're just no
- 44:45good. You know, I have to say that the we'll
- 44:50clean this up. I lost complete track. Don't worry. I'll
- 44:55play another clip and you'll get it back. Okay, there
- 44:58you go. Now, it's not really clear what... We don't
- 45:01edit anything on the show here, Matt. That's right. It's
- 45:03warts and all on this show. Okay. Now, it's not
- 45:05really clear what impact the new sanctions will have on
- 45:08the Iranian economy. It's been subject to years of maximum
- 45:11pressure, and it hasn't caused the regime. to crumble yet,
- 45:14there's still a lot of questions about who will be
- 45:16targeted and when. The Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, was at
- 45:20a press conference today laying it all out. And he
- 45:23said that the plan is to, quote, tighten the noose
- 45:25and force a, quote, zero leakage approach to cutting off
- 45:28revenue that funds Iran's economy. And he did lay out
- 45:31some specific areas that would be targeted, including technology. gold,
- 45:35shipping, aviation. Now, he's also said that Trump had called
- 45:40some world leaders to talk about the economic pressure, but
- 45:43he said he wouldn't name names about who he had
- 45:45called, and he refused to say how long the U.S.
- 45:47was giving these governments to fall in line. Now, Besson
- 45:51compared all of this to an economic D-Day, and I
- 45:53asked him about that. Here's what he said. Well, this
- 45:58is where I think Besant... uh put in a bit
- 46:01of a tell you described this as an economic d-day
- 46:04but d-day wasn't a threat of an invasion and the
- 46:07u.s didn't give a timeline to germany so why not
- 46:11impose the sanctions today why would i want to blow
- 46:14up the global financial system what what what is he
- 46:19planning here i'm So when it's time he blows up
- 46:24the financial system or if he had told them this
- 46:27to me. Or it's going to blow it up. I
- 46:30don't know. But if we tell them first, it won't
- 46:31blow it. I remember seeing that live and going, wait
- 46:35a minute. There's something weird about that. We believe that
- 46:38it is important to level set. and give people a
- 46:42cure period, but they should know that that will move
- 46:45very quickly and that we are serious. If people do
- 46:49not want to meet our expectations, then we expect... And
- 46:53they should expect that they will leave the dollar system.
- 46:57Another big question hanging over all of this is how
- 46:59China might be affected. Beijing is the top purchaser of
- 47:03Iranian oil. It's Iran's biggest trading partner. But Trump doesn't
- 47:06appear at the moment to be in a mood to
- 47:09upend his relationship with the Chinese president Xi Jinping, who's
- 47:12coming here to the White House for a state visit.
- 47:14Next. Yeah, see, there's no coincidence in timing in this.
- 47:18They can't just, you know, Xi Jinping is coming. Boy,
- 47:23what kind of ceremony is the president going to give
- 47:25to Xi Jinping? I don't know. You think they're going
- 47:27to clean up the streets of San Francisco? No, no.
- 47:30That was great, wasn't it? Yeah, that was. All the
- 47:34homeless were gone. They were all in the bay. It
- 47:37was fantastic. No, they're going to have flyovers. We're going
- 47:40to have fireworks, all kinds. We should do a march
- 47:43like they do in China. Yeah, and maybe even drop
- 47:46a couple of bombs. drums nearby you know just we
- 47:49got some tiny nukes we've never used you're the worst
- 47:52matt you're the worst i have i do want to
- 47:55make one comment on this d-day thing um That was
- 47:59a bloody, deadly day. A lot of families were destroyed
- 48:04on that day. I just looked it up, and we
- 48:08lost 2,501 people. on D-Day in one day. And the
- 48:14total loss that day of Allied troops was over 4,000,
- 48:19including 391 Canadians. Man, those were the Canadians, I'm telling
- 48:24you. But I have a hard time him using that
- 48:28term D-Day because it kind of connotates. I know all
- 48:33– what is it they say about all comparisons break
- 48:37down at some point in time. When you call someone
- 48:40Hitler. Well, analogies break down at some point. Right. And
- 48:45this one I think broke down relatively. right away at
- 48:47the beginning and I think they could have used a
- 48:49better term than that and I know there's probably very
- 48:53few people even alive today that can remember what happened
- 48:57on that day. There's about 18 U.S. veterans, a friend
- 49:02of the show, Agent Orange, He takes them to Normandy
- 49:06every single year. They're over 100 years old now. And,
- 49:09you know, he takes it, gets them on. I think
- 49:12it's used to be American Airlines. Now I think it's
- 49:14United. You know, whoever will treat them the best, flies
- 49:17them over there. And those guys sit there and they
- 49:20remember. And it's a beautiful, beautiful ceremony that they do
- 49:24there. And. But even my maternal grandfather, Opa Al-Shoble, he
- 49:30landed at Normandy and he got a he got a
- 49:34bronze star, I think, for saving some. He was in
- 49:38the signal and wire core. But, yeah, it was not
- 49:43a great time there at all. My great aunt was
- 49:48an administrator and a hospital administrator actually was in Hawaii
- 49:54and had left the day before the bombing Pearl Harbor.
- 49:59Yeah.
- 50:00And right after D-Day, within a couple of days, she
- 50:04was shipped in to land there, and she ran the
- 50:08hospital in New York. Is it Sherborg? I can't remember.
- 50:11One of the two towns there. There's two towns. I
- 50:13don't know. And there was a hospital there and she
- 50:17ran that hospital and was the administrator of that hospital
- 50:21right after D-Day. And of course, she's not alive now
- 50:24to hear the stories, but I imagine there were saw
- 50:27a lot of ugly things in that hospital. You mentioned
- 50:31the CIA director flying to Moscow. Here's ABC. Sources say
- 50:36John Ratcliffe made the unannounced trip to Moscow overnight. This
- 50:43is Ratcliffe's first known trip to Russia as the head
- 50:45of the agency. The CIA declined to comment. Officials from
- 50:49both countries have not disclosed what was discussed. Now, I
- 50:53so I don't know if it was really about Iran
- 51:06per se. I know that President Trump wants to play
- 51:11ball with Russia. Then I don't see why we shouldn't
- 51:14actually. There seems to be no reason other than, you
- 51:18know, the full scale invasion of Ukraine, which we provoked.
- 51:22We set it all up, you know, and thank you,
- 51:24Victoria Nuland. I think it may have more to do
- 51:27with the deal with Canada. And I think this is
- 51:32Doug Ford. These Ford guys up north, they crack me
- 51:36up. I think he even mentioned Russia as an alternative
- 51:40to some Canadian products we would not get anymore. Premier
- 51:43Ford, Alex Taibo with MS Now. In the past, you've
- 51:46threatened yet stronger retaliation against the U.S., including curtailing the
- 51:50export of electricity. from Ontario to the US. Would you
- 51:54still go that far? I would. Everything's on the table,
- 51:57but I can't do it alone. You know, I'm not
- 52:00the only province that ships electricity down to the US.
- 52:03We need a Team Canada approach. And I'd be happy
- 52:07within the provinces to lead that approach. If this escalates
- 52:12and we can't get back to the table and he
- 52:15keeps coming after us, all options are on the table
- 52:18in my opinion. But I can't do it alone. We
- 52:21have other provinces that send electricity down to the U.S.
- 52:25We all have to be on the same page. And
- 52:27a follow-up, we know literally why we're in this trade
- 52:31war right now, but I guess more philosophically, what are
- 52:34the undercurrents that have brought us to this moment? President
- 52:37Trump. Simple as that. You have a president, unlike President
- 52:41Reagan that didn't believe in tariffs. President Reagan believed in
- 52:45growing the economy on both sides of the border and
- 52:47around the world. Make no mistake about it. America is
- 52:52a powerhouse. but we're an economic powerhouse as well we're
- 52:56the us's number one customer across the board across the
- 53:00world we buy more products more services more widgets off
- 53:03the u.s than anyone in the world and a tariff
- 53:06on canada is nothing more than a tax on the
- 53:08american people there it is i feel terrible for our
- 53:11workers here the steel workers and auto sector but we're
- 53:14going going to back them now what i was looking
- 53:16for is a clip where he mentions potash which is
- 53:19uh potash is for uh fertilizing Yeah, yes, yes, it
- 53:23is potash. I was thinking of the other potash. Oh,
- 53:27no, no, that's from back in the day, Matt. Potash,
- 53:30yeah, it's absolutely necessary for fertilizer. And there's so many
- 53:34of these things we import that we have been blessed
- 53:38with a bountiful country. There are so many things we
- 53:41have in our country. Can we make potash? I bet
- 53:45we can. What is potash? That is not my area
- 53:48of expertise. Hold on a second. That's the book of
- 53:52knowledge. Yes, this is exactly where I'm going. Hold on
- 53:55a second. Book of knowledge. What exactly is potash? Let's
- 53:59see what the book of knowledge has for us today.
- 54:05Okay. It's all pot-ass, so I don't know if he's
- 54:08going to... According to the Book of Knowledge, potash is
- 54:12a general term for potassium-containing compounds, most commonly potassium carbonate
- 54:18or potassium chloride, derived historically from leaching wood ash in
- 54:23iron pots, hence the name pot-ash. It is widely used
- 54:27today as a fertilizer to enrich soil and boost crop
- 54:31yields, and is also essential in the manufacture of glass,
- 54:35soap, and various industrial chemicals. Thus, it has been written.
- 54:42So we can't make that? We don't have that stuff
- 54:44here? I don't know. I was just reading. Apparently, there
- 54:46is Michigan. There is a domestic potash project in Michigan,
- 54:53and it sounds like they take burnt wood and do
- 54:57– you know, the waste of space in the Northwest
- 55:02now that is – I'm sorry – that is being
- 55:05– occupied by crazy liberals they got enough trees up
- 55:10there we can make our own potash i'm sorry we're
- 55:14americans that's right i'm i got my tongue in my
- 55:16cheek very uh very uh carefully but apparently this uh
- 55:21new mexico uh and utah also produce uh potash um
- 55:25you know we found out during world war ii How
- 55:29many resources we had in this country and what we
- 55:32were able to do. And we just – if it's
- 55:34easier to get it from Mexico or China or whatever,
- 55:38that's just our nature. We're going to go, oh, yeah,
- 55:40go over and get it in China. Why not? And
- 55:43I just think that when we become so dependent on
- 55:47foreign resources. You don't have a country. country you don't
- 55:51have a country yeah what where does that eventually lead
- 55:55you and so yeah i guess if we didn't have
- 55:58any potash from canada well bless her hearts you know
- 56:02And maple syrup and hockey, that's – There's literally going
- 56:07to be tariffs on hockey sticks. Did you know that?
- 56:10No, I didn't. A hockey stick costs about 200 bucks.
- 56:13Get out of here. For a good hockey stick, yeah.
- 56:15So it'll probably cost $300 to $400. I'm pretty sure
- 56:18we can make a curved stick of wood. absolutely you
- 56:21think we could but that see that's the whole idea
- 56:25behind president trump's uh american system you know which i
- 56:30think was a i think hamilton had the same you
- 56:34know the american system i know you're giving me that
- 56:36look like i'm just spouting here matt i don't know
- 56:38i was trying to think about it well the idea
- 56:42is Build it here. All our resources here and how
- 56:45we're going to grow our way out of the the
- 56:48deficit and the and the debt is with tariffs. That
- 56:52has always been the plan. That's why, you know, the
- 56:56Democrat and the Canadian Ford type response is always it's
- 57:00going to be a tax on the American people. We
- 57:04definitely have issues with being able to afford things, which
- 57:07is a salary issue, and to some degree, a debasement
- 57:12issue of the dollar. But we can make steel, and
- 57:16that's happening now. And that will bring – well, here
- 57:21it comes – good paying union jobs joe biden there
- 57:24you go i mean i mean we can get back
- 57:27to that the whole the whole midsection of the country
- 57:30has just been destroyed tina lived in right across from
- 57:33gary indiana where they still don't have power after 13
- 57:36days um and her dad you know the mill closed
- 57:40he worked at the steel mill closed That wall went
- 57:43to China. But it's coming back. And yeah, it's not
- 57:48going to be easy for a couple of years. Never
- 57:50is. But I think that... they may be able to
- 57:54pull it off i don't know i really don't know
- 57:57well you know the tariffs were never part of the
- 58:00republican playbook ever and he's right the the the canadian
- 58:05i hate to say that the canadian was right when
- 58:08he said reagan was very much against tariffs and i'll
- 58:11tell you what i was very very shocked when i
- 58:15first heard heard trumps talk about tariffs i'm thinking wait
- 58:18a minute wait a minute oh no and so then
- 58:20i watched all the republicans all of a sudden flip
- 58:23180 from oh tariffs are no good tariffs are bad
- 58:27but trump's doing it and so tariffs now are good
- 58:31and i've heard listen to a lot of the excuses
- 58:34and a lot of the uh justifications for his tariffs,
- 58:39and I think I buy into some of them, but
- 58:41this was definitely tariffs are a progressive, liberal thing that
- 58:46Republicans and conservatives have steered away from for years. So
- 58:50it's really been an interesting flip that all of a
- 58:54sudden now we're all gung-ho about tariffs. So I hope
- 58:58we get out of it what Trump, our president, says
- 59:02we'll get out of it. The idea is it becomes
- 59:05too expensive to buy the stuff from overseas, so we
- 59:08make it ourselves. That's the entire idea the way I
- 59:11see it. It's forceful, and a lot of people who
- 59:14have internet shops are very upset. I get it. You
- 59:18know, because, yeah, what a bonanza. I mean, you get
- 59:22stuff from China, you mark it up. I mean, just
- 59:24I walked through the mall with Tina a couple of
- 59:27weeks ago and and it was some women like a
- 59:31mid range women's clothing shop. And I look at sandals,
- 59:35literally two slabs of. probably not even real leather with
- 59:40a strap on it it has some brand on it
- 59:42that i don't know the brand and it's 280 dollars
- 59:46what are you kidding me this this is you know
- 59:49this is made in china it costs maybe three bucks
- 59:53maybe even less to make these ship them over put
- 59:57a brand on it boom there it is
- 1:00:00ridiculous you know that it just makes no sense and
- 1:00:02then you bought them for her no no way i
- 1:00:07don't think so no no i know i guilt her
- 1:00:09about you know you got that's why i'm doing it
- 1:00:12like hmm these chinese slaves the uyghurs uyghur sweat and
- 1:00:17blood is in these things now she believe again Gary,
- 1:00:21Indiana, or Gary is something. Yeah, that's what I thought
- 1:00:24it was. Gary. No, it's Gary. You got Gary, Indiana.
- 1:00:27I can't quite perfect it yet. Okay. Dude, my wife,
- 1:00:31she, you know, we have like a moisturizer with a
- 1:00:35little pump on the top. When it doesn't come out
- 1:00:39of the pump anymore, the top comes off. and we
- 1:00:42are to scrape the insides. Oh, yeah. Okay. All right.
- 1:00:45And then put your hand over the straw and use
- 1:00:48it that way for at least three more weeks. Oh,
- 1:00:51three weeks. Wow. There's a lot in there. Yeah, there
- 1:00:54is. Why don't they make those little straws longer? I
- 1:00:57don't understand. You just cut open it with a razor
- 1:01:00you can take. That's another way. And then you can.
- 1:01:03just get it out. I got to do that. Listen,
- 1:01:05I used to wash out my Ziploc bags and hang
- 1:01:10them up to dry. So I know where your wife
- 1:01:13is coming from. I love her for that, man. I
- 1:01:15could. This is just a ripoff. It's a waste. I'm
- 1:01:18not throwing it away. And so now I'm like, I'm
- 1:01:21going all over the top now. You should see my
- 1:01:23toothpaste. tube. I mean, we have those big keys that
- 1:01:28you can slip on it, and you can twist it
- 1:01:31all the way. I can't believe this. I have one,
- 1:01:32too. I can't believe this. You have one of those
- 1:01:34keys? I do. From my grandmother out of her bathroom.
- 1:01:37Yeah, it's the best. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So the
- 1:01:40one thing... The president does say there could be a
- 1:01:44problem is aluminum. But for all the rhetoric, Trump last
- 1:01:47night did acknowledge the U.S. relies on Canada for some
- 1:01:51key products like aluminum. You know, selfishly, we need aluminum
- 1:01:55in this country. We don't have it. We get it
- 1:01:57all from Canada for the most part. And we need
- 1:02:00it badly. Yeah. President Trump has long lamented the trade
- 1:02:04deficit between the two countries, which stood at nearly $50
- 1:02:08billion last year. But for a trading relationship as big
- 1:02:12as the U.S. and Canada's, these tariffs still hit just
- 1:02:16a fraction of the roughly $800 billion of commerce between
- 1:02:20the two neighbors, which U.S. Trade Representative Jameson Greer has
- 1:02:24echoed. At the end of the day, this is 5%
- 1:02:27of imports from Canada. It's 0.06% of ours. overall consumption
- 1:02:32in this economy. So there's no possible way it can
- 1:02:35really affect U.S. well-being. Still, for states like Michigan, which
- 1:02:40trades heavily with the nation to its north, this trade
- 1:02:43war is already having consequences. Yeah. Michael Howard says his
- 1:02:49furniture business has started losing clients. With a 50% tariff,
- 1:02:54all those costs have skyrocketed, and just that one project
- 1:02:59just cost our family thousands of dollars in profit. and
- 1:03:04which impacts the ability for us to put food on
- 1:03:06the table for our family. On the U.S.-Canadian border, where
- 1:03:10$2.5 billion in goods cross every day, the costs to
- 1:03:14citizens on both sides continue to grow. So you take
- 1:03:18that furniture maker. I presume he's getting wood from Canada.
- 1:03:22Could be. We got lots of wood. You just mentioned
- 1:03:24that. We got tons of wood. I mean, we even
- 1:03:27have producers who make cool boots and really nice men's
- 1:03:33shoes, and they do it all in America. I mean,
- 1:03:36it really is possible. And I don't see the price
- 1:03:38being outrageously high. It's certainly not the $280, you know.
- 1:03:43Sandals. Sandals. Give me a break. So Canada's firing back.
- 1:03:48In Ottawa today, Canada's government had a clear message. It's
- 1:03:52firing back. Canada will meet the moment. Canadians will meet
- 1:03:57the moment. We will meet the moment together. All right.
- 1:04:01NetNet has sent this to me in the troll room
- 1:04:03five times now. Canada sends five million tons of garbage
- 1:04:08to Michigan every year. We're literally taking their garbage. Okay.
- 1:04:14So why don't you keep your garbage? That's right. Is
- 1:04:17there a tariff on garbage? No, and they got all
- 1:04:20that land going up north. You know, you look at
- 1:04:22the map, and Canada doesn't seem to have a northern
- 1:04:24boundary. No, it just goes all the way to Russia.
- 1:04:27It just goes all the way up there. Man, there's
- 1:04:30a lot of pits they could dig up there and
- 1:04:32put their trash in. Yeah. And besides. I thought they
- 1:04:35all recycled. I didn't think they even made trash in
- 1:04:38Canada because they're so cool. They are. We'll support our
- 1:04:41workers, our businesses, and our industry with whatever it takes
- 1:04:46for as long as it takes. Starting September 8th, Canada
- 1:04:50will impose or raise tariffs ranging between 15% and 50%,
- 1:04:55affecting... 27 billion dollars worth of imports and that will
- 1:05:00hit over 700 u.s products including some key U.S. imports.
- 1:05:07Our response will specifically target products in the sectors of
- 1:05:10steel, aluminum, household appliances, farming equipment, paper products and electronics.
- 1:05:17Canada's retaliation follows the Trump administration, placing 50 percent tariffs
- 1:05:22on roughly $20 billion dollars. worth of Canadian imports on
- 1:05:26Saturday. Along with threats of more to come, President Trump
- 1:05:30said he'll impose 50% on steel and autos starting next
- 1:05:34year. And this clash between allies has gone beyond goods.
- 1:05:39President Trump wrote on social media that the U.S. doesn't
- 1:05:42expect to do business with the Canadian border province of
- 1:05:46Ontario, adding, quote, the United States is giving serious consideration
- 1:05:51to changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America.
- 1:05:55to that. One Canadian official simply said today, we'll always
- 1:05:59call it Lake Ontario. So that is the typical Trump
- 1:06:03look over here moment. I'm going to You know, just
- 1:06:08mess troll with everybody. By the way, I looked it
- 1:06:11up. Lake Ontario, it literally is half, you know, if
- 1:06:14there's ownership, what there isn't. There's a border that runs
- 1:06:18through it. It's roughly about right in the middle. And
- 1:06:21we can call it whatever we want. That's right. We
- 1:06:23can call it Lake America. I think we should. I
- 1:06:25think that it's hilarious. There you go. It's Lake America.
- 1:06:28It's official. It's just like, oh, man. This, of course,
- 1:06:33is what, you know. The media loves to jump on
- 1:06:36these things. Trump wants to rename Lake Ontario, Lake America.
- 1:06:40And that's not even the real story. This is just
- 1:06:43the latest jab in an escalating trade war between the
- 1:06:46US and Canada. And the bigger threat just landed. President
- 1:06:49Trump says he will impose 50% tariffs on Canadian cars,
- 1:06:53trucks, auto parts and steel, start from the 1st of
- 1:06:57January next year. Canada's already hitting back starting September 8th.
- 1:07:01They're matching... Blah, blah, blah. Here's another one. President Donald
- 1:07:04Trump is back to weaponizing bodies of water. Trump... He's
- 1:07:08weaponizing Bile for Florida Trump posted on Truth Social His
- 1:07:12administration is giving serious consideration In changing the name of
- 1:07:16Lake Ontario To Lake America He even posted an image
- 1:07:19of a map showing the Great Lake He even posted
- 1:07:22an image of the map On all His proposed new
- 1:07:25name This comes as Trump is engaged in a bitter
- 1:07:27trade feud with Canadian leaders I think it's a bit
- 1:07:33of a power struggle, you know, kind of a little
- 1:07:39man's ego complex. Oh, little man's ego, little man's ego.
- 1:07:44Have you seen the president's butt? That thing is larger
- 1:07:48than the two of us put together. That thing is
- 1:07:50enormous. McDonald's. McDonald's not Coke. He's got a Mickey D
- 1:07:56caboose, baby. I think building of animosity between two neighbors
- 1:08:00is something that is never a good result. It's not
- 1:08:04the first time Trump has tried to rename a body
- 1:08:07of water. So the general thinking here is that, you
- 1:08:22know, of course, this is Mark Carney, who's the prime
- 1:08:25minister. He is the central banker, central banker, basically. He's
- 1:08:30all about the liberal rules-based world order. The general thinking
- 1:08:37amongst people that I talk to is this is really
- 1:08:41just about the midterms. Oh, it all is. Make Trump
- 1:08:44look bad for the midterms, you know, get everyone all
- 1:08:47jacked up about, you know, about – prices and tariffs
- 1:08:51and you know the hockey sticks are gonna be too
- 1:08:54expensive etc and when Doug Ford talks about electricity I
- 1:08:57think he's only talk is he do they really have
- 1:08:59electricity wires coming to America was he talking that oil
- 1:09:02I had no I think I've heard that before the
- 1:09:05power lines part of their a part of the very
- 1:09:08northern area of some of our states no wow And,
- 1:09:11you know, the U.S., we have three power grids in
- 1:09:15the country, and one of them is Texas. One of
- 1:09:18them is west, one of them is east, and the
- 1:09:20other one is Texas. Yeah. Imagine. But it wouldn't surprise
- 1:09:23me at all if there are power lines going over
- 1:09:26the border into U.S. countries or into our states. It
- 1:09:32wouldn't surprise me. These United States. I love the way
- 1:09:35that gal earlier said that. These United States. And that's
- 1:09:38the way it should be said, actually. So yesterday I
- 1:09:40was talking to Pastor Jimmy who do the podcast, We
- 1:09:43Get to Do This, and a question came up. I
- 1:09:46think he asked me, like, well, what news can we
- 1:09:49believe? And I like none. You can't believe any news
- 1:09:53at all, whatsoever. The best thing you can do is
- 1:09:56talk to somebody who knows what's going on, who's actually
- 1:09:59an
- 1:10:00expert in that field, which is what our producers are
- 1:10:03on the No Agenda show, boots on the ground. I
- 1:10:05just got a text from the oil baron, Paul the
- 1:10:08oil baron. And he sent me a full article, but
- 1:10:11I have no time to read it while on the
- 1:10:13show. He says, the Trump administration is in talks with
- 1:10:17Venezuela's interim government about taking an ownership stake in the
- 1:10:21south american country's enormous oil resources two u.s officials tell
- 1:10:26axios now uh we know axios for some reason axios
- 1:10:30is like a direct hotline to to the white house
- 1:10:34yeah i'm not sure why um why it matters this
- 1:10:38this is the historic deal Would more than double U.S.
- 1:10:41oil reserves by drawing from a country that has the
- 1:10:44world's largest proven reserves. And then the oil baron says,
- 1:10:48Trump, sign up to keep oil price down, LOL. And
- 1:10:52I believe it. I believe that's exactly what that is.
- 1:10:55Well, all that oil in Venezuela was developed by American
- 1:10:59companies and was actually owned by American companies. And I'm
- 1:11:04going to get the companies wrong, but there were two
- 1:11:06companies. Well, Chevron was one. Chevron. And they actually bought
- 1:11:11that. They paid for all the infrastructure. They put it
- 1:11:14all in. it all in that was their oil and
- 1:11:16then they had to pay a fee to you know
- 1:11:18venezuela got a share of it and the venezuelans took
- 1:11:22it over and when they had their little revolution and
- 1:11:26they kicked out all the operators in these refineries and
- 1:11:31they said we can do it ourselves well guess what
- 1:11:35they couldn't and uh... so a lot of their equipment
- 1:11:40just went south and uh... i spent some time up
- 1:11:43and uh... maracaibo is where the the big uh... bay
- 1:11:46is where they did a lot of oil you were
- 1:11:48there yeah yeah what were you doing there i was
- 1:11:52uh... Traveling. Careful now. Yes. Working on my import-export business.
- 1:11:57Sounds kind of spooky to me, Matt. I don't know
- 1:11:59what business you were in. But, yeah, and it was
- 1:12:02a horrible-looking place. I mean, it was like out of
- 1:12:07some kind of sci-fi movie. The Derricks were kind of
- 1:12:09all tipping over, and it was a very, very bizarre
- 1:12:12scene. Because all the experts. That's where it's left. They
- 1:12:14had to leave the country, and the whole thing fell
- 1:12:16apart. Absolutely. So us taking it back, we're just getting
- 1:12:21it back to the original owners. I mean, that's really
- 1:12:25what it is. We just found some stolen property, and
- 1:12:28we've got a guy big enough to go in and
- 1:12:30take our stolen property back. So I don't have a
- 1:12:32problem with it at all. Amen to that. You're a
- 1:12:36car guy. I mean, all Texans are car and truck
- 1:12:39guys. And I don't think I mean, when I was
- 1:12:43growing up, I remember we always used to have long
- 1:12:46conversation or my dad would have long conversations with other
- 1:12:52dads about tires. And buying tires was a conversation. I
- 1:12:57don't think that – do you remember those days when
- 1:13:00people would just talk about tires you got? I'm going
- 1:13:02to get new tires. I mean, these days – I
- 1:13:04mean, does anyone really talk about tires that much anymore?
- 1:13:08Or you just buy a car and, you know, it's
- 1:13:10like, meh. You know, maybe it's, you know, it's an
- 1:13:13eight-year-old car and the tire's a little worn. You can
- 1:13:15literally go down to the tire. What is it called?
- 1:13:17Like Tires R Us? Yeah, seven-day tires, something like that.
- 1:13:21You have a cup of coffee, and they put new
- 1:13:23tires on. You don't even ask, and you just put
- 1:13:25some new tires on. But do you remember the conversations
- 1:13:28about different kinds of tires? I guess I don't. Really?
- 1:13:33I don't remember any tire conversations. Well, I was on
- 1:13:36the East Coast. Maybe it was more of an East
- 1:13:38Coast. coast thing, but it was always, and there was
- 1:13:40a whole bunch of reasons and which tire was better.
- 1:13:43And you want to have, actually, when I was in
- 1:13:44college for three months in West Virginia, I remember that
- 1:13:47was a big conversation because what tires you're going to
- 1:13:50have for the winter? You want to have all round
- 1:13:52tires. Round tires. And I want round ones, like, you
- 1:13:56know, ones that work. And so as a part of
- 1:14:01the midterm PSYOP from California, they've put in new rules
- 1:14:07and regulations for tires. And I was like… What is
- 1:14:12going on with this? And of course, Gavin Newsom is
- 1:14:15very happy about it. And so we'll break down exactly
- 1:14:18what is going on with this. I think it was
- 1:14:20a good choice. Governor Gavin Newsom speaking for the first
- 1:14:23time on new tire regulations. The California Energy Commission or
- 1:14:26CEC unanimously approved earlier this week. Thank you, everybody. At
- 1:14:30an unrelated press conference. Wow, what a nap pop that
- 1:14:33was. Great nap top. Let's hear that again. Thank you,
- 1:14:38everybody. standards beginning in 2033. The governor says his administration
- 1:15:03backs the rules, saying they will reduce the energy needed
- 1:15:06to move cars, in turn saving drivers money on fuel,
- 1:15:09all while cutting emissions. The ROI is pretty good, the
- 1:15:13return on investment. I'm back to just facts. In fact,
- 1:15:17a billion dollars a year in fuel. You talk about
- 1:15:19affordability agenda. That makes some sense to me. There it
- 1:15:23is. The affordability agenda. So this is clearly a midterm.
- 1:15:28Now, it doesn't really go in until January 1st, 2029.
- 1:15:33But here's here's what it's about. It's the replacement tire
- 1:15:37efficiency program. The California Energy Commission. So this is a
- 1:15:41climate change initiative, which is just amazing. And it has
- 1:15:46to do that. So passenger car replacement tires must meet
- 1:15:51a maximum rolling resistance coefficient. Okay. RRC of 9.0 NKN.
- 1:16:00I don't know exactly what that is. Then they have
- 1:16:02phase two, where the ceiling drops from 9.0 to 7.1.
- 1:16:07So this is how efficient your car tires roll on
- 1:16:12the road, which, of course, has huge implications for weather,
- 1:16:19speed, speed. Turning. They have to. So the what's called
- 1:16:26the wet grip. It's like what in the world? So
- 1:16:31they have to change to go from rubber to high
- 1:16:35silica and functionalized polymer compounds. This this sounds like a
- 1:16:40horrible idea. to and evs most of them in california
- 1:16:45they eat up tires 30 more you know like will
- 1:16:48you be able to break the same you know can
- 1:16:50you will you get acceleration do your tires spin out
- 1:16:53i mean this sounds like a bunch of idiots just
- 1:16:56want to put something in there to you know to
- 1:17:00placate the climate crazies and It doesn't sound like a
- 1:17:05good idea. You know, the only concern I have about
- 1:17:08that is can you get them in white walls? California
- 1:17:10Energy Commissioner Nancy Skinner acknowledged. Matt will be here all
- 1:17:13week, everybody. Under the new regulations, about 70% of the
- 1:17:18tires currently sold in California will not be legal to
- 1:17:21sell come 2033. But she also stresses tire manufacturers have
- 1:17:25seven years between now and then to come. up with
- 1:17:27new types of tires to sell tires Skinner believes will
- 1:17:30ultimately benefit consumers. We'll ensure that the tires sold in
- 1:17:352029 will be the same quality and just as good
- 1:17:39as the tires that are on your brand new car
- 1:17:41when you drive it off the lot. Just as good,
- 1:17:44just as good. So it's only for replacement tires. So,
- 1:17:47you know, buy a new car and you get the
- 1:17:49good tires, I guess. And of course, with California, this
- 1:17:52is what we learned from John. It's like the reason
- 1:17:56we have crazy expensive diesel is because of the sulfur
- 1:17:59content that California demands. And we're not going to make
- 1:18:04One diesel for California and a different one for everybody
- 1:18:08else. So we have to deal with their regulations. That
- 1:18:12may be the same. If all the tire companies get
- 1:18:16on board with this, we're going to get these crap
- 1:18:20tires. You know, I think a lot of tire companies
- 1:18:23just won't do business in California, or at least a
- 1:18:25couple of them won't. I mean, if they've got the
- 1:18:27rest of the country to sell their tires to –
- 1:18:30I just don't do business in California. I mean, what
- 1:18:34is California's motto? We're from the government and we're here
- 1:18:37to help. Is that their motto? We've got the government
- 1:18:41designing tires. This is a problem. ...and Bridgestone Tires said
- 1:18:46they hope to work with the California Energy Commission... Ah,
- 1:18:49traitors. Bridgestone traitors. ...to ensure the new regulations take effect
- 1:18:53smoothly. But other tire manufacturers and industry groups have argued
- 1:18:57the rules could limit consumer choice and lead to significantly
- 1:19:00higher costs for replacement tires after the tougher standards take
- 1:19:04effect. Yeah. A coalition of tire companies earlier this year
- 1:19:07sent the commission this letter, urging it not to adopt
- 1:19:10the regulations amid concerns over high costs. Republican State Senator
- 1:19:14Tony Strickland of Huntington Beach, meantime, argues the new rules
- 1:19:17are government overreach. There's a lot of families that are
- 1:19:20living paycheck to paycheck, And they can't afford these kind
- 1:19:23of regulations. In fact, these board directors are the modern-day
- 1:19:28Marie Antoinette. They don't care that they're really driving people
- 1:19:33out of the state of California. You'd be wise to...
- 1:19:36take advantage of new efficient tires, lower your cost at
- 1:19:41the pump. Tire manufacturers, the vast majority came on board,
- 1:19:44one notable one did not, but from a consumer's perspective
- 1:19:47uh the savings is is self-evident and so i think
- 1:19:51it was a good choice in that respect i wonder
- 1:19:53who didn't come on board oh i know i've already
- 1:19:55got that in my notes they're they're going to be
- 1:19:57my new favorite tire company
- 1:20:00Let's find out. Book of Knowledge. Which tire company is
- 1:20:04not participating in California's new tire regulations? I love my
- 1:20:09book of knowledge. Oh, it's great. Yeah. Let's see. According
- 1:20:15to the Book of Knowledge, Goodyear and Dunlop oppose California's
- 1:20:19new replacement tire efficiency program, while Michelin and Bridgestone support
- 1:20:24it. Goodyear. Yeah. It has been written. So, Goodyear. Nice.
- 1:20:30I wrote in a blimp once. Really? Yeah. Man, that's
- 1:20:34a trip I'd like to take. It was pretty cool.
- 1:20:36It was very cool. I missed an opportunity when Budweiser
- 1:20:40had a blimp. I missed that opportunity. But I like
- 1:20:44blimps. I think that, you know, they're... a pain in
- 1:20:47the butt to land you gotta have 18 people on
- 1:20:50the ground grabbing ropes with it it's a pretty cool
- 1:20:53mode of transport it was really yeah but when was
- 1:20:55the hindenburg 1908 I don't know. I can't remember. But,
- 1:20:59you know, we had buildings that had airship docks on
- 1:21:03the top of them. New York had them all over
- 1:21:05the place. Yeah. And it was slow, but it was
- 1:21:08luxurious. And you had big sleeper cabins. The only problem
- 1:21:13was they exploded. But helium was hard to get back
- 1:21:16in the day. So did pentos. It's a fine American
- 1:21:21tradition of exploding transportation, yes. You know, but the Goodyear
- 1:21:26blimp, it's got a cockpit that I think is about
- 1:21:29the size of your studio here. And it is noisy
- 1:21:32as can be because everything's right there. And it's just
- 1:21:38this tiny little compartment. But, yeah, I think a blimp
- 1:21:41would be a cool way to go across the country
- 1:21:44without a doubt. A lot of these Silicon Valley guys
- 1:21:47have tried to resurrect that several times. I'm not sure
- 1:21:50what the status is. You know, I think everyone changed
- 1:21:53investing into airships, as they're known. They're not blimps, airships,
- 1:21:58into flying cars, which, you know. The flying car is
- 1:22:00going to be like the paperless office or the paperless
- 1:22:03toilet, maybe. I can't wait to get one. You haven't
- 1:22:06seen my garage, but I have a spot for it.
- 1:22:08For some reason, we have a three-car garage. We don't
- 1:22:11have three cars, but that's where my flying car will
- 1:22:13go if it ever comes out. All right. You know,
- 1:22:16Gene, Sir Gene is always sending me. these uh these
- 1:22:19videos youtube's like look at this man it's here it's
- 1:22:22coming this is it the flying car i say have
- 1:22:24you looked at the specs you can you can fly
- 1:22:27exactly 60 miles an hour For 20 minutes. If I
- 1:22:31can't get to Austin and land in your backyard, it's
- 1:22:34not worth it. And also, if I have to recharge
- 1:22:36for 24 hours before I can fly home, the power
- 1:22:39to rate ratio is a whole thing. Mm-hmm. A lot
- 1:22:44of complaints about H-1B visas. I think pretty much everybody
- 1:22:49who listens to the show has a complaint about it.
- 1:22:52A lot of my friends who work in technology companies,
- 1:22:54their biggest complaint is they've been overrun by Indians. Mm-hmm.
- 1:23:00All H-1B, they bring in more H-1B. It's filled with
- 1:23:04fraud. Also, sorry, Brahmins, but the Brahmins are really racist
- 1:23:09or classist, I should say. And it's just a mess
- 1:23:12and no one wants to work there anymore. And it
- 1:23:15seems like there's going to be some crackdown on this
- 1:23:19finally, which is another part of the how about let's
- 1:23:22get Americans back to work. And the first is the
- 1:23:25new fee. Which was just came. I'm not sure about
- 1:23:28the number, but this is probably a good idea. The
- 1:23:31Trump administration is moving to codify a new fee for
- 1:23:34H-1B worker visas that costs more than $103,000. In a
- 1:23:39filing today, the Department of Homeland Security said some of
- 1:23:42the revenue would be used to help fund the nation's
- 1:23:44immigration courts and ICE. Earlier this summer, a judge in
- 1:23:48Massachusetts struck down a similar temporary fee. The H-1B program
- 1:23:52allows U.S. companies to hire tens of thousands of foreign
- 1:23:55workers each year. President Trump has argued it takes jobs
- 1:23:59away from Americans, but many companies say it's needed to
- 1:24:02recruit top talent, especially in tech and research. Which is
- 1:24:06just bull crap. They all get their education here. They
- 1:24:09come over from India, get their education here, and then
- 1:24:12get an H-1B, and then they're working. Do you know
- 1:24:15why the tech industry? Is it really a labor shortage?
- 1:24:21No, it's cost. It's just cost. So there's no –
- 1:24:23it's not labor shortage based. Well, initially it was cost.
- 1:24:29Of course, there are a lot of really highly educated
- 1:24:32– and just mainly Indians, I would say. But then
- 1:24:36– you know indians hire indians and they got you
- 1:24:39know this whole h1b farms and you know like like
- 1:24:44pat you I hate to sound racist, but you know,
- 1:24:46one guy looks like the other on the passport photo,
- 1:24:49you know, Rajiv. And so that just permeates. The fraud
- 1:24:54is known, it's well known. Everybody complains about it. And
- 1:24:58I don't care. You know, you can come here and
- 1:25:00become an American and work here. That's fantastic. But the
- 1:25:04specific visas part, of it is a scam. And there's
- 1:25:07another thing. The State Department is now going to revoke
- 1:25:12a lot of the 1B visas, which I presume is
- 1:25:16A1B. There's a couple of different 1Bs, hospitality, agriculture and
- 1:25:23business. The U.S. government is preparing to revoke the business
- 1:25:27and tourism visas of up to 200,000 foreigners who have
- 1:25:31applied for or are currently seeking asylum status. If this
- 1:25:34happens, it'll be the largest mass revocation of visas in
- 1:25:38U.S. history and would likely face legal challenges. State Department
- 1:25:43documents attained by the Associated Press say the revocation will
- 1:25:46take place in the coming weeks. on B1 and B2
- 1:25:50visas issued between 2016 and 2026, and will be done
- 1:25:54in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security. B1 visas
- 1:25:58are generally issued for business trips, and B2 visas are
- 1:26:01generally issued for tourism, family visits or medical care. Current
- 1:26:06applicants for B1 and B2 visas are asked to affirm
- 1:26:09that they will not apply for asylum in the United
- 1:26:12States and prove that they intend to return to their
- 1:26:15home countries. Since President Donald Trump took office for his
- 1:26:18second term last year, his administration has steadily ramped up
- 1:26:21restrictions on visa applicants, demanding more information about their social
- 1:26:26media histories, requiring the posting of expensive bonds for the
- 1:26:30processing of visas, and outright banning the issuance of visas
- 1:26:34to citizens of certain countries. Yeah. All they've got to
- 1:26:38do is marry an American. No, they're cracking down on
- 1:26:41that, too. They just rolled up a whole Chinese ring.
- 1:26:44They've been doing that for a decade. Oh, yeah. I
- 1:26:47had a friend in Ecuador... who needed to marry an
- 1:26:51Ecuadorian to get her to stay in the country to
- 1:26:55keep her business going. And she worked out a deal
- 1:26:57with a young teenage boy in the village there. Yeah.
- 1:27:01Boom. And so she said, well, do you want something?
- 1:27:06He wanted a basketball. So she got her a basketball
- 1:27:09and a husband. She gave him a basketball, and she
- 1:27:12got a husband, and as far as I know, still
- 1:27:15lives there. You know, that's right. I'm all for making
- 1:27:19it, putting levels into getting into our country. You know,
- 1:27:24at one point, I don't know. This is when I
- 1:27:27was living in Europe. Like, maybe I should go move
- 1:27:30to Australia. That might be interesting because I visited Australia,
- 1:27:34did a documentary in 1990. Now, this is before they
- 1:27:37went completely woke. Not all provinces or states, I guess
- 1:27:41you call them, like Queensland is still pretty okay. And
- 1:27:46I looked into it. And at the time, and I
- 1:27:49don't think it's changed much, you had to either be
- 1:27:52a literal rocket scientist or have $5 million. Okay. Now,
- 1:27:58that's $5 million. Australian dollars. So I know that's maybe
- 1:28:02nine fifty here's a buck fifty dollar dues now. But,
- 1:28:06you know, yeah, that I agree with that. Make it
- 1:28:10harder. I mean, or put a put a limit of
- 1:28:12reason for you to come here and not just come
- 1:28:15in. This is what destroyed Europe, completely destroyed Europe. It's
- 1:28:20crazy. And you've been telling a lot of us recently
- 1:28:23that we're not on the same path of destruction with
- 1:28:27our immigrants coming in as quick as Europe was. For
- 1:28:31this very reason. Yeah. You know, President Trump closed the
- 1:28:34borders. Your boy Tom Holtman enforced it. No, we're not.
- 1:28:39You know, of course, as part of the midterm push,
- 1:28:44Let's all be extremely worried about Muslims. There's absolutely problems
- 1:28:48with Islam. There's absolutely imams doing podcasts saying they've absolutely
- 1:28:54had a plan since 1991. Absolutely. But it's still 1%
- 1:28:58of the population. You haven't quite overrun us yet. You
- 1:29:03know, every time I talk about Islam on my program,
- 1:29:06which seems to be quite often recently, is I always
- 1:29:10have to start with that caveat that I know they're
- 1:29:13bad. I know they don't even culturally fit in here.
- 1:29:17I mean, just everything right down the line. And yet
- 1:29:20I can still – then I can talk about it
- 1:29:23because anything I seem to say, if I don't put
- 1:29:26the caveat in there, it's like, oh, you're pro-Islam. It's
- 1:29:29like, no, I'm not. But we've – yeah, we do
- 1:29:32have to be careful. But at the same time, this
- 1:29:35is not London overnight. It's not Paris. No. Not overnight.
- 1:29:39And London – you know, the main source of Muslims
- 1:29:43is Indians. And why? Because I forget which prime minister
- 1:29:49was it. It was, oh man, I should know this.
- 1:29:53We've talked about him. The prime minister, I think before
- 1:29:57Thatcher, I can't remember.
- 1:30:00I heard something with an H. He said, hey, you
- 1:30:04know, if we colonize you, you have a right to
- 1:30:07come to England. Oh. Heath. I think it was Heath.
- 1:30:11Heath. Okay, yeah. And so the Indians went... Straight up,
- 1:30:14bro. And the Pakistanis and all kinds of colonies came
- 1:30:19in. And that's where that came from. So you and
- 1:30:24I could go and live in London then and be
- 1:30:27allowed to stay because we were colonized as well. Good
- 1:30:30luck with that. That won't fly? Shall I get you
- 1:30:34a one-way ticket? Yeah. Happy to send you off there,
- 1:30:36man. No problem at all. So you get these countries
- 1:30:39like the Netherlands and they just let – I mean
- 1:30:42the Moroccans. We had Muslims in the Netherlands for decades.
- 1:30:47We didn't call them Muslims. They were Indonesians. Number one
- 1:30:51country of Muslim religion, faith. Islamic political ideology, whatever you
- 1:30:58want to call it, they call themselves Muslims, is Indonesia.
- 1:31:01Number one, the Netherlands famous for its Indonesian restaurants. We
- 1:31:06love Indonesian food. Never had a problem with, as they
- 1:31:09call them, the Indos. The Indos. In fact, it was
- 1:31:12okay to call them Indos. You can't do that anymore.
- 1:31:14After that came the Turks. And that was part of
- 1:31:17a guest worker program in the 70s. And they had
- 1:31:20to really start building up the country because a lot
- 1:31:24of it was destroyed. And so we needed guest workers
- 1:31:27to come in. Just weren't enough people in the country.
- 1:31:29Now, as a sideline to that, you had the Moluckers,
- 1:31:32and the Moluckers didn't get a good deal. And they
- 1:31:36also got colonized and treated poorly by the Dutch because
- 1:31:40the Dutch, they were no good, man. They transported all
- 1:31:43the slaves. I mean, they were the ship-faring nation. So
- 1:31:46the Moluckers got all pissed off in the 70s, and
- 1:31:49they started hijacking trains. Do you remember this? They were
- 1:31:52hijacking trains in the Netherlands? Oh, yeah. How do you
- 1:31:54hijack a train? They literally would hijack, and it would
- 1:31:57be on TV. TV for days and they would have
- 1:31:59hostages and then the special forces would go in and
- 1:32:04several hostages got killed. It was and was always the
- 1:32:06Moluccas, never Muslims, Moluccas. Then came the Turks. Turks. Yeah,
- 1:32:12you know, there was a little bit of racism against
- 1:32:14the Turks, but they integrated pretty well. And I have
- 1:32:17a lot of Turkish Dutch, you know, crossbreeding families. And
- 1:32:21they didn't really have the cuisine that added much to
- 1:32:24the culture, but they were there for so long. They
- 1:32:27helped build it. Not a problem. By the way, Muslims.
- 1:32:31Then came the Moroccans. And these were not the Moroccans
- 1:32:35in the big cities. You know, like Marrakesh. Have you
- 1:32:41ever been to Marrakesh? I have not. Dude, it's like
- 1:32:44the most modern city in the world. It is like
- 1:32:47Singapore on steroids. Wow. Just beautiful buildings, beautiful, like shopping
- 1:32:53malls better than UAE. Just fantastic. It wasn't those Moroccans.
- 1:32:59No. No. They sent over the ones from the mountains
- 1:33:02and they came over. Now, Muslims, yeah, you know, they
- 1:33:07have Ramadan and they have some, you know, slowly the
- 1:33:12halal stores crept in and people didn't really push back.
- 1:33:15And then, of course, they started to get into government
- 1:33:18because people are apathetic and don't go and vote. They
- 1:33:21run the drugs, all the drugs. It used to cost
- 1:33:26probably, if you wanted to kill somebody, I grew up
- 1:33:29in this country, so I lot of weird things. If
- 1:33:32you wanted to kill someone, you know, you probably 15,
- 1:33:3410,000 euros. Now, 500. Wow. And they do it on
- 1:33:38mopeds. Yep, they drive by, they shoot you, machine guns,
- 1:33:43everything, run all the drugs throughout all of Europe through
- 1:33:46the port of Rotterdam. Rotterdam, where my daughter lives, she
- 1:33:50had to move out to a different area. I'm like,
- 1:33:53you should move out to Tennessee is what I keep
- 1:33:55telling her. That's far southwest of Holland, right? She doesn't
- 1:34:00listen to me. But again, it wasn't a Muslim problem
- 1:34:04until it's almost like someone told them, hey, Don't forget
- 1:34:09you're Muslims. So all these years, it never was an
- 1:34:14issue, but some of it has to do with Israel.
- 1:34:17And the extreme hate of Israel in the Netherlands, where...
- 1:34:24You know, Anne Frank, Corrie ten Boom. These are famous
- 1:34:28Jewish stories from from Second World War. The hate is
- 1:34:33unbelievable. And of course, a lot of it is because
- 1:34:37look at who's living in Amsterdam. Look at who's living
- 1:34:40in Rotterdam. You know, they burn Israeli flags now. I'm
- 1:34:44not saying anything about Netanyahu or the current – I
- 1:34:48don't give a crap. Gaza, okay, this is not a
- 1:34:51problem that has just been recently. This is all psyops
- 1:34:56to highlight genocide. There's been a lot of genocides no
- 1:35:01one seemed to care about. This one people care about.
- 1:35:04And so now the latest – This is amazing, is
- 1:35:07the Eurovision Song Contest. Yes, I've never paid attention to
- 1:35:12it until I started listening to No Agenda. And I've
- 1:35:15been watching the Eurovision Song Contest since 1972 when ABBA
- 1:35:20won with Waterloo. And I think the Dutch have won
- 1:35:24four or five times. And it is a cultural phenomenon.
- 1:35:29And it's from the European Broadcasting Corporation. The EBU, which
- 1:35:32by itself is weird, because why is Australia in there
- 1:35:37and why is Israel in there? And then there's all
- 1:35:40kinds of ways people say, well, but they're technically a
- 1:35:43part of Europe. Okay, geographically, I'm not seeing it, but
- 1:35:47whatever. So ever since. Really, since... Even before Gaza, there
- 1:35:56was already people calling for Israel to be boycotted, kick
- 1:36:00them out. We don't want them in the Eurovision Song
- 1:36:02Contest. And now it's flipped. And now... countries are pulling
- 1:36:08out of the Eurovision Song Contest. And I'm joined by
- 1:36:11Josje Suis. He's a Eurovision expert and journalist for Omro
- 1:36:14Buker. I wish I could be paid as a Eurovision
- 1:36:17expert. There you go. What a job that will be.
- 1:36:19And in Arnhem in the Netherlands. Now, the Netherlands are
- 1:36:23boycotting. Is this the biggest crisis that Eurovision has ever
- 1:36:27faced? Yeah, I would like to think so. It's a
- 1:36:30really big crisis. It's a crisis! Of course, the Eurovision
- 1:36:33has always been political since the beginning. It was made
- 1:36:36to make peace in Europe, but it's never been so
- 1:36:39polarizing and dividing as it is now. Everybody is thinking
- 1:36:44something of it. A lot of countries are boycotting it.
- 1:36:47It's a big crisis. Yeah, it could be like a
- 1:36:50negative downfall of the contest for sure. It's a big
- 1:36:54crisis, a downfall. So negative. Everything's falling apart. How much
- 1:37:01would people lose if Eurovision went away? I mean, what
- 1:37:05would that, you know, I mean, I know it's kind
- 1:37:08of a facetious question, but. I think the thing is
- 1:37:11that this is one of these cultural events that kind
- 1:37:15of keeps Europe together. Okay. Right. It's kind of like
- 1:37:19we're the European Union, even though it goes far beyond
- 1:37:22the European Union. And it's not just the Netherlands pulling
- 1:37:25out, but the other big ones are pulling out. And
- 1:37:29I think this could start in a funny way. I'm
- 1:37:32just calling it as a possible Red Book prediction that
- 1:37:35this could be the. Breaking up of the European Union
- 1:37:38over cultural things like this. Now, Spain has said it
- 1:37:43would not broadcast the contest or the semifinals in Vienna
- 1:37:47next year, describing the process of decision making as insufficient
- 1:37:52and engendering distrust. What do they mean by that? They
- 1:37:57are not the only one. Ireland is also not broadcasting
- 1:38:01it. I think what I mean... is because they think
- 1:38:05the changes that are being made, that's what they voted
- 1:38:07on yesterday. So they voted on having more juries and
- 1:38:13changing the number of votes you can make. They're rigging
- 1:38:17the whole thing. It was rigged anyway. It was all
- 1:38:20favoritism. Countries voted for their neighbors, Belgium. Belgium and the
- 1:38:25Netherlands would vote. No one voted for the UK. Like,
- 1:38:29England is always last with no votes. I mean, they
- 1:38:33won once, I think, with Brotherhood of Man. save all
- 1:38:36your kisses for me. Why do I know this stuff?
- 1:38:39Because I'm an unpaid Eurovision expert, Matt. I think they
- 1:38:42find that too less of a change to keep the
- 1:38:45trust in the EUVU that they are independent, not supporting
- 1:38:49Israel in any way or giving them special treatments. And
- 1:38:54I think they... They just don't trust the EU that
- 1:38:58they are really independent. And I think for the fans,
- 1:39:02it's very sad that the broadcaster will not broadcast it,
- 1:39:06but they can watch it on YouTube as well. So
- 1:39:09here's the funny thing. So it's the European Broadcast Union.
- 1:39:12It's all the public broadcasters because all these all these
- 1:39:15countries have. government broadcasting organizations. And it's just like the
- 1:39:22BBC, funded a little bit differently, but it's from the
- 1:39:25people. It's supposed to be apolitical and for the people
- 1:39:29in every single country. It's extremely left-wing, very biased, and
- 1:39:35it's a very expensive thing. The European Broadcasting Union, they're
- 1:39:39not going to broadcast it in these countries, but now
- 1:39:41they're putting it on YouTube? Yeah. Get rid of the
- 1:39:45whole thing. So you lose your own – so you're
- 1:39:48just cutting your own throat. I'm assuming there's advertising that
- 1:39:52goes in with these. Is there money that's made by
- 1:39:54broadcasting it? I'm glad you asked because they do –
- 1:39:57Was that a good question? That's a – It's close.
- 1:40:00It's still a great question, but no, it's a good
- 1:40:02question. They have one sponsor. You might be surprised. Now,
- 1:40:06Spain is, of course, one of the biggest contributors financially,
- 1:40:10and without its participation and other nations like the Netherlands
- 1:40:14and Ireland pulling out, what will be the effect on
- 1:40:19this event? It's very hard to say now because the
- 1:40:23Netherlands is the sixth biggest contributor in Money Wise. Spain
- 1:40:28is, of course, one of the big five. So they
- 1:40:30will lose a lot of money, but they keep the
- 1:40:33biggest sponsor, Moroccan Oil, now. So it's hard to say
- 1:40:37what will happen. They got three countries back, Moldova, Bulgaria
- 1:40:41and Romania. So I think they tried to compensate the
- 1:40:44loss that was expected to happen a little bit. But
- 1:40:48I think you could see a lot of the rising
- 1:40:51expectations. Did you hear it? the oil moroccan oil i
- 1:40:55heard oil and i didn't hear what was before it
- 1:40:58moroccan oil could it be any more anti-israel yeah moroccan
- 1:41:03oil sponsor do you think that had anything to do
- 1:41:07with it by any chance oh is it possible no
- 1:41:10of course not you're just that's just a crackpot theory
- 1:41:14i'm telling you that this is going to be the
- 1:41:16beginning mark this the eurovision song contest breaking apart people
- 1:41:21not broadcasting it and moving to youtube is going to
- 1:41:24be the end of the european union this will be
- 1:41:27the the crack the very first crack i can just
- 1:41:30feel it it's it's you can't understand it it's like
- 1:41:34super bowl It's like Super Bowl in America. Really? Okay.
- 1:41:37Very much so. Yeah. And it was just fun. It
- 1:41:40was just fun to see the votes coming in and
- 1:41:43yelling and saying, oh, those guys are just voting for
- 1:41:46them. Yeah. It used to be, you'd see Ukraine and
- 1:41:50Russia voting against each other, you know, zero points, no
- 1:41:54points for Russia from Ukraine and vice versa. Russia used
- 1:42:00to be in it. Hmm. They used to be in
- 1:42:03the Olympics. They used to be in all kinds. They
- 1:42:05used to be in the G8. G7 plus one, maybe.
- 1:42:10So the – This happened to you twice now, Matt.
- 1:42:16I know what it's from. The 70s. Yes, that's exactly
- 1:42:19where it's from. Matt and I were sharing bong stories
- 1:42:22earlier. We both are avid vapors now, which I just
- 1:42:27love. We're just sitting here vaping away in the studio.
- 1:42:30It's fantastic. What are you rocking there? What's your rig?
- 1:42:33What is mine? I think I have the same as
- 1:42:34yours. I'm not sure what it is You got a
- 1:42:37geek vape I think I have an older model I
- 1:42:40went to a I'm so blind now This is the...
- 1:42:47It's a little smaller than mine. The Aspire. Okay, Aspire.
- 1:42:51Okay, okay. I'm familiar with them. Do you build your
- 1:42:53own coil? No, I heard you when you said that
- 1:42:56a while back, and I was thinking, what an idiot.
- 1:43:00Yeah, man, you got to wind your own coil, use
- 1:43:02American cotton. Yeah. Do you pull it out of an
- 1:43:06old T-shirt? Where do you get this American cotton? You
- 1:43:10buy it in a bag called – it's called bacon.
- 1:43:13Cotton bacon. Okay. It was funny. When we were stopped
- 1:43:17at the border coming back two times ago, we were
- 1:43:21stopped. We stopped in – it might have been –
- 1:43:26Minneapolis, I think. We came in from Minneapolis over to
- 1:43:31Texas. And for some reason, we have the global entry,
- 1:43:35which is like, you know, literally face scan like, hey,
- 1:43:40Mr. Mrs. Curry. Yeah. OK, you're good to go. And
- 1:43:42then we're standing there waiting for our luggage. And you
- 1:43:45could see one of those feds walking around. He's like,
- 1:43:48excuse me. You know, it's like, can I see your
- 1:43:50passports? I'm like. Well, this is interesting. I use my
- 1:43:53passport. Okay. And then we're ready to go out, and
- 1:43:58then two more customs agents come up, and we got
- 1:44:00our suitcases. And he's like, okay. where are you folks
- 1:44:04from? I said, you know, we just got spoken to
- 1:44:06by your colleague. I mean, do we look like international
- 1:44:08diamond smugglers? Oh, last thing to say. T.T. is like
- 1:44:11so mad at me. He's like, oh, why don't you
- 1:44:14come over here? So do you have any cash on
- 1:44:16you? Yeah, I got like 40 bucks. Can you need
- 1:44:18some? Let me know. It's like, and so I think
- 1:44:20because he kept mentioning cash, like, okay, open up my
- 1:44:23computer back, you know, my studio bag, basically. And in
- 1:44:26there is the bacon. Okay. And it says bacon on
- 1:44:30the side. Is this an agricultural product? Oh, good Lord.
- 1:44:35No, it's cotton. What do you need cotton for? For
- 1:44:39my vape. Okay. They were really nice about it. Tina
- 1:44:42was mad. Like, don't make these jokes, man. Don't do
- 1:44:45this. But come on. It's like the whole thing is
- 1:44:48hilarious. We're not smuggling anything. if i was smuggling something
- 1:44:52i'd be a little quieter obviously you know i used
- 1:44:55to uh collect beach sand at different beaches i would
- 1:44:59go to because the sands are all very cool right
- 1:45:02why does this not surprise me and so um so
- 1:45:05i am uh flying in from columbia into miami and
- 1:45:09uh they're going through my bags oh and the worst
- 1:45:11thing that could ever happened was the girl working behind
- 1:45:14the count, but working where I got pulled up. This
- 1:45:16was Houston, not Miami, Houston. And she looks at me
- 1:45:19and she goes, We went to high school together, didn't
- 1:45:22we? And I went, oh, crap. Yes. Listen, let me
- 1:45:26tell you, I could not have smuggled a cat's fart
- 1:45:29in on that. She knew me from high school. She
- 1:45:31knew you. They turned over everything, and they find the
- 1:45:33one little container of white sand from a beach in
- 1:45:38Columbia. Wow. I had Colombian white he says yes Colombian
- 1:45:44white and she said what's this I said it's sand
- 1:45:46and boy immediately these people come over and they took
- 1:45:49it off and I guess they chemically analyzed it somewhere
- 1:45:52and about 20 minutes later they come back and hand
- 1:45:55me my sand back short a few grains I had
- 1:45:57weighed it and they they they I said it was
- 1:46:02okay. It was sand. I said thank you very much.
- 1:46:06Anyway, I don't even know how we got on that
- 1:46:09tangent. Vaping. And by the way, I'm going to put
- 1:46:13it out there. I was a heavy smoker for many,
- 1:46:16many years. Me too. And I tried, I mean, I
- 1:46:19tried everything. I think I never tried hypnosis, but I
- 1:46:22tried everything about quitting smoking that ever anybody had ever
- 1:46:26come up with. And nothing ever worked for a short
- 1:46:29period. It would never work. Yeah. And when I decided
- 1:46:33to try the vape, and it was our good friend
- 1:46:35Jerry. Jerry. Rest in peace. Jerry. And I went in
- 1:46:39there and… Jerry and his wife… Oh, I knew you
- 1:46:44were going to say that. Oh, goodness. Not Mary. No,
- 1:46:47no. She had a common name. It'll come to me.
- 1:46:51So they were… The hippies. Yeah. Hippies from California. And
- 1:46:55they were in their 70s. And their mission literally was
- 1:46:59to get people off of smoking cigarettes. Yeah. That's why
- 1:47:03they opened the vape shop. And so I go in
- 1:47:05there and they fixed me all up. And Adam, I
- 1:47:08tell you, I did not pick up a cigarette. even
- 1:47:11after that even once yeah now we've got a guy
- 1:47:14at the uh our one of our main engineers up
- 1:47:17at the studio he's a smoker and i love it
- 1:47:20his little cubicle or his little box oh man and
- 1:47:24he could well no he smokes outside so oh yeah
- 1:47:27it comes in i'll come in i'll and i'll i'll
- 1:47:30be heading in in I can smell Bob over there.
- 1:47:35I love the smell of tobacco smoke. I love it.
- 1:47:39And this is one thing that we connected on very
- 1:47:42early, that we were both roll-your-own guys. And, of course,
- 1:47:45I'd roll up the tobacco with weed. I mean, I
- 1:47:48was wake and bake for most of my life. But
- 1:47:52I stopped because of the... Maverick My periodontist He called
- 1:47:59me. I've become really good friends with him. He's a
- 1:48:01pilot. That's how we kind of connected. And he called
- 1:48:04me a week before my first procedure, which was the
- 1:48:07extraction phase. You know, I have just these beautiful new
- 1:48:10teeth. I mean, don't you think? Oh, they're gorgeous. Gorgeous.
- 1:48:16And he said, Adam, it's Mitch. Hey, man. can you
- 1:48:19stop putting fire in your face for a week? Because
- 1:48:23it's really, it's going to make my job harder, and
- 1:48:25it's going to be harder for you to heal. And
- 1:48:27I put down tobacco and weed and never touch it
- 1:48:31again. I don't crave it. I mean, the vaping... Of
- 1:48:37course, it is an electronic nicotine delivery system. There's no
- 1:48:40doubt about that. And I think it's more just... you
- 1:48:45know i miss that rolling that's why i like doing
- 1:48:47the coil i miss the rolling the whole process you
- 1:48:50know thinking about it you know and then sparking it
- 1:48:54up and letting it go out and sparking it up
- 1:48:57again and something about the vape satisfies those movements and
- 1:49:00just i don't know what to do with my hands
- 1:49:03well we can say it it's an oral fixation that's
- 1:49:06right There it is. There it is. But I love
- 1:49:08these people say... you know you're going to die from
- 1:49:11vaping i'm like you really haven't done the research on
- 1:49:13all the different aspects of vaping you know well yeah
- 1:49:16it's really bad it's worse than smoking like you get
- 1:49:20those people oh i absolutely do what do you shut
- 1:49:24up exactly no i have one line i gave up
- 1:49:27all my hard drugs i gave up alcohol um nobody
- 1:49:31is taking my caffeine or my nicotine away from me,
- 1:49:34I will go to the grave with a vape. Maybe,
- 1:49:37I don't know, maybe I'll have a cigarette. If I
- 1:49:39know I'm on my way out, go over bum one
- 1:49:42from Bob. But I have to tell you that, no,
- 1:49:48there's a lot of things that I have enjoyed in
- 1:49:51my life that I gave up for good. Good, healthy
- 1:49:53reasons. And I'm going to, by God, I'm going to
- 1:49:57hang on to some of them. I'm with you, brother.
- 1:49:59I'm with you.
- 1:50:00Since we're on a cultural trip here for a moment,
- 1:50:02Dolly Parton, first of all, Tim Curry passed away 80.
- 1:50:09The number of times someone has said to me, hi,
- 1:50:12Tim, I can't count. And so... Maybe that'll end now,
- 1:50:18finally, because people think, well, that can't be Tim Curry
- 1:50:21because he's dead. But I wasn't really a Rocky Horror
- 1:50:26fan. What other stuff has he done? He'd been in
- 1:50:29a lot of different things, though, not just Rocky. He
- 1:50:31was known for – what a bummer that must have
- 1:50:33been to only be remembered for Rocky Horror Pictures. For
- 1:50:36the transgender dance that he did. But he was pretty
- 1:50:39ugly. You know, I appreciate his – He was pretty
- 1:50:43ugly. I appreciate the work he did as Pennywise. I
- 1:50:48thought he was – We've had several Pennywises, and I
- 1:50:52think he was one of the best Pennywises. And, of
- 1:50:55course, Home Alone 2, they've been showing that little clip.
- 1:50:59And that was a pretty funny scene. He's a pretty
- 1:51:03funny guy. Let me look at his body of work.
- 1:51:06Let me see. Doesn't Wikipedia always have that? Yeah. Okay.
- 1:51:11So, man, they don't have a – the wiki page
- 1:51:15doesn't have a – oh, Tim Curry performances. Well, here
- 1:51:19we go. Okay. um let's see seven he was from
- 1:51:23the 70s man he had okay he played in buttons
- 1:51:26in cinderella midsummer this is uh stage stuff that's theater
- 1:51:30it was a theater it's from the theater oh wow
- 1:51:33he did a lot of theater stuff how about his
- 1:51:36uh how about his movies uh Man, he did a
- 1:51:40film. Okay, Rocky Horror, Annie, Clue, Hunt for Red October.
- 1:51:48Now, that was a good movie. The Player, Home Alone
- 1:51:522. Loaded Weapon 1. I wish I was in that.
- 1:51:58Mikhail's Navy. Huh, how about that? Oh, he was Major
- 1:52:02Vladikov. Adam's Family Reunion. Oh, he played Gomez. That's right,
- 1:52:06in Adam's Family Reunion. Charlie's Angels. Who wasn't in Charlie's
- 1:52:10Angels? What else did he do? I still watch Charlie's
- 1:52:15Angels on Sunday afternoons. Hello, Angels. He did a lot
- 1:52:21of TV stuff, too. He would have been someone that
- 1:52:25would have been really fun to have around the campfire.
- 1:52:28He just seems like he would be able to tell
- 1:52:31a story that would just keep you enthralled. I don't
- 1:52:34know. I could be totally wrong on that, but that
- 1:52:37was my impression of it, that he'd be a blast
- 1:52:40to have over just to tell us some stories to
- 1:52:44him you know and uh i think he'd be good
- 1:52:46now you grew up in texas you're a full texas
- 1:52:48boy i was born in abilene but my folks moved
- 1:52:51us to vienna austria when i was about a year
- 1:52:54and a half old in fact when hitler came to
- 1:52:57power no i'm yeah i'm not that old 1961 in
- 1:53:01fact we took the roder over to Europe. Sure. And
- 1:53:06it's now a hotel in somewhere. I would like to
- 1:53:09go stay somewhere. No, you don't. No, I don't? No,
- 1:53:13it's not what you think it is. It's not what
- 1:53:16you think it is. But so we were in Vienna.
- 1:53:20In fact, we had ties to Holland. We'd go to
- 1:53:22Den Haag every now and then. We had a good
- 1:53:25friend who was a… What did your dad do going
- 1:53:28to The Hague? You know, he was a preacher. Yeah.
- 1:53:31Really? He was a preacher, a missionary. He and his
- 1:53:34buddies. Well, big fail on Holland. They took Bibles and
- 1:53:41literature in behind the Iron Curtain during the 60s. And
- 1:53:48so they did a lot of that. But we went
- 1:53:50to The Hague. In fact, the thing I remember about
- 1:53:54Holland was they had seven up in Holland, and we
- 1:53:57couldn't get that. in Vienna. And the other thing, the
- 1:54:02most beautiful woman I think I've ever known was a
- 1:54:05Dutch-Indonesian woman named Leda Katan, who I just, even as
- 1:54:10a kid, I was like, oh my God. Goodness, beautiful
- 1:54:14Indonesian women. By the way, Dutch, speaking of colonizations, the
- 1:54:19Dutch colonized Indonesia. Yeah. And in fact, then the Japanese
- 1:54:23took it away from them. And they threw everyone in
- 1:54:25the Dutch people in the Japanese concentration camps. OK. I
- 1:54:29knew a lot of kids. Their parents had been in
- 1:54:31the Yuppa Kump. Oh, wow. They were called the Jap
- 1:54:33camp. Wow. So, yeah, and then we came to the
- 1:54:37States when I guess I was about 11 or 12,
- 1:54:40and we moved to the tiniest little West Texas town
- 1:54:44in the whole wide world, a place called O'Donnell, where
- 1:54:48they put me in school. And I had never played
- 1:54:51football. You know, not football, but football. Baseball. None of
- 1:54:58those things were familiar with me at all. And I
- 1:55:01ate with my fork in my left hand and my
- 1:55:03knife in my right. You know that? Yeah, you know,
- 1:55:06the proper way, the Emily Post way. Absolutely. I got
- 1:55:10in trouble at school because I didn't know how to
- 1:55:14hold. my silverware. You're heathen. I know. But I do
- 1:55:21have memories of Holland, and I grew up reciting a
- 1:55:26Dutch nursery rhyme when we first met. I remember that
- 1:55:30was the first thing I asked you. What is it?
- 1:55:32I don't remember what it was. Olico bolico rabi solico,
- 1:55:34olico bolico no. And you've got to do these things
- 1:55:40with your hands, right? Yeah. Nailed it, brother. All right.
- 1:55:44You and Mark Rutter. Yes, hello. So I was leading
- 1:55:48into an entertainment package of Dolly Parton just because I
- 1:55:53always liked her. I mean, did you grow up listening
- 1:55:56to Dolly Parton? I don't think so. I think I
- 1:55:57did. I don't think I did. I obviously knew who
- 1:56:00she was, and I heard her music by accident. But
- 1:56:02it was not something I would tune in or buy
- 1:56:05a record. As a radio guy, I've played all of
- 1:56:08– because she had crossed over all the time. It
- 1:56:11would go top 40, like Jolene, which I despise that
- 1:56:13song. Now, here's the crazy thing. On the last episode
- 1:56:17of the Noah Gentiles. show, I was talking to Rob,
- 1:56:20you know Rob, and he was talking about the psyop
- 1:56:25of the COVID vaccine. And I said, yeah, even Dolly
- 1:56:29Parton was in on it. And I played the clip
- 1:56:31of her singing vaccine, vaccine. So this is, you know,
- 1:56:35you don't want to mess with a no agenda show.
- 1:56:38That's right. Bad things happen when we dig up old
- 1:56:42stuff of yours. But... I always loved her. I always
- 1:56:45loved the songs, you know, 9 to 5. I just
- 1:56:48wanted to play this as a short, well, it's a
- 1:56:51longer than normal homage to Dolly Parton. Well, I wanted
- 1:56:55to be a star, but I always thought of a
- 1:56:57star more as a singing star. Legendary country music star,
- 1:57:01businesswoman, actor, and philanthropist Dolly Parton has died. Parton was
- 1:57:11born one of 12 kids in a one-bedroom cabin in
- 1:57:14East Tennessee. I was never ashamed of my background, even
- 1:57:17though we grew up very poor. Those humble beginnings would
- 1:57:20shape her life in music. I think we've become who
- 1:57:23we are when we're young. By 21, Parton broke into
- 1:57:26the country billboard charts for the first time with her
- 1:57:29single Dumb Blonde. It was one of the first milestones
- 1:57:34in a career that spanned seven decades. She released over
- 1:57:4150 albums, winning 10 Grammys and garnering 55 Grammy nominations,
- 1:57:46the most ever for a female country artist. Get your
- 1:57:49scummy hands off of me. Her first of two Oscar
- 1:57:51nominations for Best Original Song was in 1981 for the
- 1:57:55song 9 to 5 from her movie of the same
- 1:57:57name. Working 9 to 5, I don't know where to
- 1:58:01make it. She received an honorary Oscar in 2025 for
- 1:58:05her humanitarian work. It makes me want to dream up
- 1:58:08new ways to help lift people up. And isn't that
- 1:58:10what we're supposed to be here for? In 2024, Rolling
- 1:58:14Stone magazine ranked her 1973 hit Jolene, the number one
- 1:58:17greatest country song of all time. Jolene, Jolene, I'm begging
- 1:58:23her. you please don't take my man brain worm yeah
- 1:58:28right And a song she wrote around the same time
- 1:58:31as Jolene, I Will Always Love You, eventually got its
- 1:58:34own iconic cover. And then Whitney, of course, made it
- 1:58:37into a worldwide hit. And I! Beyond her music, Parton
- 1:58:47created a business empire. Dollywood in the heart of the
- 1:58:51smokest. Opening Dollywood, a theme park near her hometown in
- 1:58:55East Tennessee that employs thousands and has invigorated the surrounding
- 1:58:58area. Hundreds and hundreds of businesses have sprung up and
- 1:59:02thousands and thousands of jobs. I just really think business.
- 1:59:07I get that from my. dad. Parton supported many charitable
- 1:59:10causes, including childhood literacy, through her imagination library. We've officially
- 1:59:14gifted over 200 million books to children. Thank you. Dolly
- 1:59:20Parton leaves behind more than iconic music. She leaves a
- 1:59:23legacy of generosity, humility, and a reminder to be kind
- 1:59:26to one another. I think everybody should be treated with
- 1:59:29respect. I hope that everybody gets a chance to be
- 1:59:33who and what they are. And, you know, she was
- 1:59:36a real American, man. An American success story. Yes, she
- 1:59:39was. Absolutely. I really loved her for that. And, you
- 1:59:42know, Taylor Swift is no Dolly Parton. No, of course
- 1:59:46not. Yeah, but there's always that comparison. Yeah. But it's
- 1:59:49like, no, no, no, Dolly Parton. And whenever she was
- 1:59:51on The Tonight Show, those appearances were legendary. Oh, yeah.
- 1:59:55Oh, yeah. She just played it off so well. And
- 1:59:57you know what? Taylor Swift can see or shoot.
- 2:00:00and Dolly Parton was never able to see her shoes.
- 2:00:04There you go. So there's a big difference. Let me
- 2:00:06see, Matt. Was there anything else you wanted? I have
- 2:00:09a couple other things here that we haven't handled. Actually,
- 2:00:13we should probably do a quick bit here on –
- 2:00:18On the latest, we actually talked about this on your
- 2:00:21program on Monday, the Matt Long Show, Matt Long Show
- 2:00:25podcast, which is a good listen. You know, how long
- 2:00:29have you been doing radio? Yeah. I'm going into my
- 2:00:33eighth year. And is this all a hill country? It
- 2:00:35is, yeah, the hill country. I started out, I did
- 2:00:39a call in for a national show a few years
- 2:00:42before that. where I called in and gave them Texas
- 2:00:46news from the legislature on Tuesdays. Yeah. And that's when
- 2:00:50the local radio station heard that and said, we want
- 2:00:53you to do that for us. For free. For free.
- 2:00:57And then next thing you know, they were offering me
- 2:00:59a job. But there was no pay. There was no...
- 2:01:05No pay. That's radio, baby. But you're in show business.
- 2:01:08So I said, I'll tell you what. I'll give you
- 2:01:11six months. And if I add value to you, I'm
- 2:01:15telling you, this was before I discovered you guys. But
- 2:01:18I told him, I said, if I'm adding value to
- 2:01:21your station, then you need to pay me. And if
- 2:01:23I'm not adding value to your station, then you need
- 2:01:25to pay me. You need to find something that gives
- 2:01:28you value. I said, so I'll give you six months.
- 2:01:30And it's about a 33-mile drive one way for me
- 2:01:33to get over there. So it's, you know, wear and
- 2:01:36tear, gas, et cetera. And the owner called me in
- 2:01:40at five months. And his table was clear except for
- 2:01:43that big checkbook. And he said, what do you want?
- 2:01:47And so I came home and I talked to Gail
- 2:01:51about it. And again, no, I've never run a board.
- 2:01:54I've never done any of that. Nothing. So this is
- 2:01:57the thing. The first time you had me on, I
- 2:02:00come into the – I'm like, so first of all,
- 2:02:02you're coming down this very dangerous road. You're driving towards
- 2:02:06Kerrville. Yep. And you have to – turn left on
- 2:02:09this two-lane, 70-mile-an-hour road. With no view from either end.
- 2:02:13No, it's like your life is in danger of making
- 2:02:16this left-hand turn. You roll up. There's five shipping containers.
- 2:02:20One of them is the one you're in. He's exaggerating
- 2:02:22a little bit. No, I am not. I am not.
- 2:02:25No, there's an office building, but no, I'm not. There's
- 2:02:29five containers. No, the country station, which I'm sure is
- 2:02:32the big one, they have cushy studio inside the building.
- 2:02:36All the other guys get the container. And you're sitting
- 2:02:39and I'm looking at you working the board and everything.
- 2:02:42You know, I used to be a skateboarder back in
- 2:02:44the day. You ever skateboard? No. And you know the
- 2:02:47concept of goofy foot? No. So… Typically on a skateboard,
- 2:02:52or in a surfboard, I guess. Your right foot is
- 2:02:54back and your left foot is forward. Okay. And some
- 2:02:57guys just learned how to do it with their left
- 2:02:59foot back in their front. That's goofy. Okay. And it
- 2:03:02freaks skateboarders out. And that's when I saw you doing
- 2:03:05radio. I'm like, man, this is like goofy foot on
- 2:03:07radio, but he's doing it. It's amazing. Now, you're really
- 2:03:11good at, you know, you're running your own board and
- 2:03:12everything. Yeah. And I'm just amazed, like, how did everything
- 2:03:16work? Because, you know, it just seems like you're the
- 2:03:19crazy professor. And you hit the top of the hour,
- 2:03:23you hit the news, everything's perfect. It's a joy watching
- 2:03:26you goofy foot on the radio. Thank you. It's a
- 2:03:29compliment. It really is. Like your typical watch me do
- 2:03:33this boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, pressing all the buttons.
- 2:03:37Because that's what all the radio guys are. That's why
- 2:03:39they put cameras in studios because the stupid top 40
- 2:03:43i think it's the stupidest thing they ever did the
- 2:03:45top 40 jocks want you know look how cool it
- 2:03:47is when i'm when i'm hitting the buttons it's all
- 2:03:50this complicated stuff that i'm doing man i'm turning up
- 2:03:52the volume turning it down oh yeah and the minute
- 2:03:54the the song starts you know i stop talking i
- 2:03:57throw off my headphones and i go to the coke
- 2:03:58machine i'm right back in time you know it's like
- 2:04:01that's that's That's what DJs are, and you're the opposite
- 2:04:04of that. But the result is fantastic. Well, thank you.
- 2:04:07Thank you. Do you guys have a camera in the
- 2:04:09studio? Oh, heavens no, and we never will. It ruins
- 2:04:12everything. It ruins everything. It's the old line, we have
- 2:04:17a face for radio, and it's very true. You're a
- 2:04:20good-looking man. Not long. All right, so here is the
- 2:04:24latest midterm outrage hair on fire that is working quite
- 2:04:29well in Texas. President Trump hosted tech leaders at the
- 2:04:31White House to discuss U.S. efforts on cryptocurrency and artificial
- 2:04:35intelligence. Trump says the technology is crucial to create more
- 2:04:39jobs and beat China, but voters have a different perspective.
- 2:04:43NPR's Deepa Shivaram reports. The president argued that if he
- 2:04:46were the mayor of a town, he would want an
- 2:04:49AI data center there for the tax benefits. But if
- 2:04:52I were a governor or mayor, I would want that
- 2:04:54plant in my community. And many of them are designed
- 2:04:57in a very beautiful way. That puts Trump at odds
- 2:04:59with the majority of Americans. A Gallup poll from March
- 2:05:02this year said seven in 10 Americans oppose an AI
- 2:05:06data center getting built in their area. Trump, in his
- 2:05:09remarks, acknowledged that AI data centers could use a, quote,
- 2:05:12little public relations help. But his stance underscores how his
- 2:05:16perception of the technology differs from voters' concerns, which could
- 2:05:20be a top issue in the midterm elections. this year.
- 2:05:23There it is. Top issue in the midterm and Abbott's
- 2:05:26fallen hook, line and sinker for it. have you ever
- 2:05:29seen i mean what happened to all the other outrage
- 2:05:31it just all went away oh it just comes and
- 2:05:33goes and uh we've doubled down on this one you
- 2:05:35know when the outrage on that one came into the
- 2:05:38hill country i'm i'm i get these pockets of outrage
- 2:05:42that just pop up this cycles of outrage that we
- 2:05:45see here in the hill country i think maybe started
- 2:05:48by some of the women on No, it's all –
- 2:05:51it is them. It is those women all the time.
- 2:05:54Yeah, they get that all fired up, and it just
- 2:05:56seems like they want to pull me in real quick.
- 2:06:00Let's talk to Matt. He'll make it an issue on
- 2:06:02the radio. And I just – I kick back, and
- 2:06:04I wait, and I watch, and I observe. And at
- 2:06:08the end of this, on these data centers, the first
- 2:06:11thing I thought about was you're cutting off your nose
- 2:06:14to spite your face. We are so addicted to Internet,
- 2:06:17to connectivity, to being able to, you know, check your
- 2:06:21bank account while you're on the road in, I don't
- 2:06:24know, Taiwan or somewhere. And all these things that… People,
- 2:06:29they're thirsty for more internet, more things on their phone,
- 2:06:32more connectivity. You know, I went to the bank the
- 2:06:36other day, and the ATM machine was down. You can't
- 2:06:38walk into your bank anymore and just get cash, right?
- 2:06:42By the way, you can at Guadalupe Bank. You can
- 2:06:45at Guadalupe Bank, which are a sponsor of the Matt
- 2:06:48Long Show, I should say. I love those guys. Yes,
- 2:06:50they are real good. And so… So I pulled up
- 2:06:55to the drive-up window, and I just gave her my
- 2:06:57card, and I said, I just need $40. Adam, they
- 2:07:00had to go print temporary checks. Fuck! for me. Really?
- 2:07:07Yeah. The system was down so they couldn't do it
- 2:07:10electronically? Electronically. Oh, goodness. I'm telling you, folks, this battle
- 2:07:15against the data centers and had I brought any clips,
- 2:07:19it would have been boring clips from 13 years ago
- 2:07:23when Texas, the state of Texas, was hustling for data
- 2:07:27centers. Yeah. And I listened to several hours of a
- 2:07:30committee hearing from – 13 years ago where they were
- 2:07:34begging these companies to come to texas and the companies
- 2:07:37were lined up there talking to them giving testimony and
- 2:07:40they kept saying yeah but we need a sales tax
- 2:07:43cut yeah and uh they got it they got it
- 2:07:46they got a six percent sales tax cut and so
- 2:07:49we the state was all gung-ho to get it get
- 2:07:54the data centers in, and now the very same people
- 2:07:57who are all gung-ho. And, by the way, it passed
- 2:08:00on the floor unanimously. How often does that happen? And
- 2:08:03that never happens. No, no. And so it passed unanimously.
- 2:08:07And now those same guys, gals and guys are all
- 2:08:10saying, oh, no, no data centers, no data centers. No.
- 2:08:14it's to get votes. It's be afraid of data centers
- 2:08:20and vote Republican. Be afraid of Muslims, vote Republican. Be
- 2:08:24afraid of... and vote Republican. Just name it. Name it
- 2:08:28whatever it is. Oh, and weed's going to come back
- 2:08:30into it. Be afraid, you know, of Delta 9s, vote
- 2:08:36Republican. They already passed that, didn't they? Yeah, but they've
- 2:08:41even pulled that back just in the last couple of
- 2:08:44weeks. Because the Stone Texans are like, hey, you're, I'm
- 2:08:47not going to vote for you if you don't give
- 2:08:48me my Delta 8 and Delta 9 back. That's right.
- 2:08:50That's right. That's crazy. So, yeah, it's just fear-mongering before
- 2:08:54the elections. And you don't want to insult people. You
- 2:08:58know, I don't want to insult people. But at the
- 2:09:02same time, it's like – Step back a little bit.
- 2:09:06See who is motivating you and why. Where is this
- 2:09:09message coming from? And why is it so – why
- 2:09:13are you getting so hair on fire about it? Well,
- 2:09:16one of the reasons is – The frontier model companies
- 2:09:21themselves – frontier model. Okay, so these – like OpenAI
- 2:09:24and Anthropic, basically the top two. Their entire marketing to
- 2:09:29keep the money flowing into them without any profits coming
- 2:09:33out. In fact, they're burning money at an unbelievable rate.
- 2:09:37Their marketing campaign is twofold. One is – Our stuff
- 2:09:41is so good, it's dangerous. So we couldn't even give
- 2:09:44it to you if we wanted to. Government, please regulate
- 2:09:48us so that the cheap – see that computer right
- 2:09:52there? Yeah. That is running my entire production system. That
- 2:09:56is all open source models running on that one little
- 2:09:59computer.
- 2:10:00That little box right there with the blue lights. That
- 2:10:01little tiny thing? Oh, my goodness. That's a GTX. It's
- 2:10:05just running everything, my clips, the whole thing. It runs
- 2:10:12everything, and that's what they hate. So they want regulation
- 2:10:17to ban open source models. But because of their marketing,
- 2:10:22People are like, well, this stuff doesn't sound good for
- 2:10:24my health. It's in these data centers. We don't want
- 2:10:27it near me because it might take over and do
- 2:10:29something. And this was the latest. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman
- 2:10:32in an ad with a new app building partner on
- 2:10:35the promises of artificial intelligence. Another company executive is sending
- 2:10:40a different message. In an interview with The Guardian newspaper,
- 2:10:43OpenAI's chief global affairs officer, Chris Lehane, saying people are
- 2:10:47going to be able to access these open source models
- 2:10:51and be able to have ongoing persistent attacks on you.
- 2:10:54Oh, no. You're going to need to have open models
- 2:10:57will have attacks on you. We've got. to regulate them
- 2:11:00stop really superior models defend them superior models off and
- 2:11:04defend yourself It's been a month since OpenAI revealed one
- 2:11:08of its models, with no instructions to do so, escaped
- 2:11:11containment and hacked another company called Hugging Face. We're looking
- 2:11:15at AI, we're looking at controls, we're also making sure
- 2:11:18that we leave. I like this president, but he has
- 2:11:20no jack about this. He doesn't know what he's talking
- 2:11:23about. Shortly afterwards, President Donald Trump said the White House
- 2:11:27was... was examining safety regulations, but little has happened since,
- 2:11:31at least on the federal level. Weeks ago, a New
- 2:11:34Mexico judge ordered Facebook and Instagram owner Mehta to pay
- 2:11:38more than $900 million U.S., for causing mental harm to
- 2:11:43children. On Monday, Alabama's attorney general subpoenaed OpenAI over the
- 2:11:47hugging face incident, investigating whether the company violated consumer protection
- 2:11:53laws and poses an ongoing risk to the citizens of
- 2:11:56the state. - They might be able to impose real
- 2:11:58change on the way OpenAI The University of Toronto's Evan
- 2:12:02Light says the New Mexico ruling could offer precedent for
- 2:12:06controlling tech giants, pointing out the chorus calling for AI
- 2:12:10control includes top AI companies like OpenAI. And he notes
- 2:12:14Lehane's comment targeted open source artificial intelligence to the world.
- 2:12:18OpenAI's not-for-profit rivals. Hugging Face tried to use an OpenAI
- 2:12:24model to deal with the situation, and it was not
- 2:12:26capable of doing that. And it used an open source
- 2:12:29model from a Chinese developer to... adequately figure out what
- 2:12:34the situation was. Global News asked OpenAI for comments. The
- 2:12:38company did not respond by deadline. On Monday, it told
- 2:12:40CNN it is conducting a thorough review. Okay, so it's
- 2:12:43that kind of story when people don't know what it
- 2:12:46is. And it's kind of... Hard for people to understand.
- 2:12:50The only thing they really most people see is Chad
- 2:12:53GPT and it talks back to him and it sounds
- 2:12:55like a robot and it looks up off and it's
- 2:12:57like a magic eight ball. And they think it's the
- 2:13:00Oracle and it says everything. Of course, it's not always
- 2:13:03right. But that's not really what AI does. I mean,
- 2:13:06I don't have my box over there. I don't ask
- 2:13:08it questions. You know, what I do is I use
- 2:13:10it to run different workflows and processes. It made me
- 2:13:14extremely efficient and saved me hours and hours of prep
- 2:13:19per day. I mean, it's really phenomenal. But they hear
- 2:13:21this and they're like, I don't want that near me.
- 2:13:25You know, there's enough time. YouTube pastors out there that
- 2:13:28have made people afraid of this. You know, it's the
- 2:13:31devil. It's the antichrist. All of this stuff. You know,
- 2:13:36Peter Thiel. You get people out there, well, Peter Thiel
- 2:13:39and flock cameras. And it's all going to come together
- 2:13:41and we're all going to die. That's basically the marketing.
- 2:13:44The funny thing is, is that this is one of
- 2:13:47the largest companies. transfers of wealth to the working class
- 2:13:51to build these data centers. I mean, it's unbelievable the
- 2:13:54amount of work that is available in Texas. That's all
- 2:13:58I know about, but it's everywhere to build these data
- 2:14:00centers. But they better hurry up because just today it
- 2:14:03was announced that NVIDIA, the only company actually making a
- 2:14:08profit because they create the The GPUs that everyone runs
- 2:14:12their frontier models on, but not just the front every
- 2:14:15model. There's other stuff, but they're the big dog. They
- 2:14:19just reported like some astronomical number like $46 billion with
- 2:14:25a $2.20 per share profit this past quarter. They just
- 2:14:30announced they're buying Hugging Face, the guys you just heard
- 2:14:34about. You told us a couple of weeks ago what
- 2:14:37Hugging Face was. It's basically... A version of that. Okay.
- 2:14:42Okay. So Chinese models, they're distilled, probably stolen from those.
- 2:14:48Whatever it is, it works fine. You know, is it
- 2:14:51cutting edge? Is it frontier? No. No, it's maybe nine
- 2:14:54months behind. It works fine. There's a lot of open
- 2:14:56source work being done. But NVIDIA… They are now about
- 2:15:01to kill all these guys because they now have the
- 2:15:04full stack. They've got the GPUs. They signed it. And
- 2:15:08they've been pumping money into all these companies to keep
- 2:15:11them going. The circular financing you might have heard about.
- 2:15:14So they've been putting money in Anthropic, in Open Air,
- 2:15:17all the small startups that use these models. And now
- 2:15:20they just said, you know what? We're going to buy
- 2:15:21Hugging Face. That's going to kill these guys. And NVIDIA
- 2:15:25is going to be the top big dog. Yeah. And
- 2:15:27I don't know if all these data centers are going
- 2:15:29to happen. I really don't think so. Let me ask
- 2:15:32you, being the king of conspiracy theories, what – What
- 2:15:37do you hear about this theory about that China is
- 2:15:40the one that is behind the no data centers in
- 2:15:43our neighborhood because they want all the data centers? And
- 2:15:48so the folks that are out promoting no data centers
- 2:15:51and keep them out of my neighborhood, do you think
- 2:15:54that China has anything to do with that? No, that
- 2:15:57is the Republican response. to the Democrats playing this game
- 2:16:00on them. So literally, you know Mr. Wonderful, Kevin O'Leary?
- 2:16:06So he's... I don't know if the guy even has
- 2:16:08any money. I don't know if he's just on Shark
- 2:16:11Tank or whatever, but he does YouTube videos in his
- 2:16:15pajama pants at home now. And he had this whole
- 2:16:18video like, oh, we found out that this whole campaign,
- 2:16:22which was some – I think it was in Utah,
- 2:16:24like some left-wing group was going against data centers and
- 2:16:28literally spreading this message of data centers bad. You know,
- 2:16:32don't vote Republican because they want data centers. And Mr.
- 2:16:35Wonderful is a perfect, you know, poster child for Republican
- 2:16:38capitalism. And he immediately went, this is China. They're funded
- 2:16:43by China. No, they're not. They're funded by, you know,
- 2:16:48the Arabella group. Okay. Which is this huge, you know,
- 2:16:52group of left-wing billionaires who just hate Republicans. So they're
- 2:16:58playing a psyop party. on the Republican Party, getting everyone
- 2:17:04to be afraid of data centers. And the Republican response
- 2:17:07is, well, that's just China. They want to have all
- 2:17:09the data centers. It's all midterm bull crap. All of
- 2:17:13it. Okay. I take back everything. I've been spreading that
- 2:17:16theory. No, no. I'll break that theory up. China doesn't
- 2:17:21need – this is the beauty of the Internet. You
- 2:17:23don't need data centers in Texas or Utah if you're
- 2:17:25China. Put them in China. They've got the cheapest power
- 2:17:28everywhere. What about putting them in space? There's been a
- 2:17:32lot of talk about that. That's Elon. Yeah. Well. I
- 2:17:36like Elon. I mean, if he can make that happen,
- 2:17:38I mean, he solves the power problem supposedly because the
- 2:17:42sun, you know. I don't know. It's like pigs in
- 2:17:44space. It's going to have data centers. I don't know.
- 2:17:47I guess if you can have the space station, I
- 2:17:50guess you can have data centers. I don't know what
- 2:17:53the weight ratio – I don't know how any of
- 2:17:55that works, but man – It funded his IPO. Yeah.
- 2:18:00You got the rockets. You got the GPUs. You know
- 2:18:04how to do solar. You've got Starlink. Maybe he can
- 2:18:07do it. I don't know. Hmm. What he will do
- 2:18:10is he's going to do his new cell phone company.
- 2:18:13Yeah, I've heard. There's some interesting stuff. I don't like
- 2:18:17necessarily the idea of everything being tied to Elon because
- 2:18:21it can go away. But yeah, I don't know. Data
- 2:18:25centers in space, I'm fine with it. I'm good with
- 2:18:27data centers. There you go. They're going to have so
- 2:18:31much power being built around these data centers that when
- 2:18:36they go away, because they will, you know. I had
- 2:18:38a data center in 2002 in Amsterdam. Spectacular fail. I
- 2:18:43was way too early. Right on the AM6, the Amsterdam
- 2:18:46Internet Exchange. And I was right because, you know. Data
- 2:18:50centers today are filled up with your YouTube videos. All
- 2:18:54your Netflix stuff is at a data center as close
- 2:18:57to you as possible because it's just cheaper that way
- 2:19:00to transport the data. So these things are a fact
- 2:19:03of life. But when they go away, we'll have all
- 2:19:05this cheap power and we'll be, I don't know, mining
- 2:19:07Bitcoin all day, Matt. There you go. There you go.
- 2:19:11You know, it was interesting, the testimony from 13 years
- 2:19:15ago from these folks who were trying to bring data
- 2:19:18centers to Texas. They were very clear that they really
- 2:19:22needed to be and wanted to be near big cities.
- 2:19:25They had to be. close to a large population because
- 2:19:29of latency. Has that changed? No. Latency is still the
- 2:19:34same. Well, that's for what they – so you have
- 2:19:37inference is what they call it. It's a fancy word.
- 2:19:41So you have the compute – gotta have compute matt
- 2:19:45okay gotta have compute to build the models which is
- 2:19:48a very uh energy and processor intense uh intensive process
- 2:19:54you know that costs a lot of money just in
- 2:19:56pure energy but then the inference so when it doesn't
- 2:20:00something, you want to get that information to you as
- 2:20:02quickly as possible. For your chat GPT, maybe not that
- 2:20:06important, but it's the same as... Like the stock market.
- 2:20:11You have data centers in the buildings themselves where people
- 2:20:16do this trading because you want the lowest latency possible
- 2:20:20to make the trade even two-tenths of a second faster
- 2:20:24than the other guy. It could mean a lot of
- 2:20:27money. This is why – the president's media company was
- 2:20:32selling API early access, which is literally like milliseconds to
- 2:20:36his true social posts. Because when the president posts something,
- 2:20:40then, you know, that changes markets. That, you know, when
- 2:20:44he says, um, You know, I'm going to bomb a
- 2:20:47whole civilization civilization. The oil markets react immediately when he
- 2:20:51says, oh, no, it's I think it's OK now. The
- 2:20:54oil markets react immediately. If you can get that five
- 2:20:57500 milliseconds faster than the other guy, you can make
- 2:21:02a lot of money. Okay. That's why they're leasing that
- 2:21:05API access out for half a million dollars or $100,000
- 2:21:09a month. It could literally be that valuable. Wow. So
- 2:21:12anyway, I'm not against data centers. Okay. I'm against chatbots.
- 2:21:18I think that's the worst thing that could have ever
- 2:21:19existed. I've never even tried one. You should try one,
- 2:21:22Matt. Yeah. Which one? It doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. Try
- 2:21:27Chad GPT and give it a name and talk to
- 2:21:30her. Oh, no, I can't. I just can't do it.
- 2:21:35Oh, man. Hey, Matt, I really appreciate you being here.
- 2:21:37Actually, I held you much longer than I said I
- 2:21:39would. You're welcome. I'm going to do the donations. You're
- 2:21:43welcome to hang around. I'm happy to let you out.
- 2:21:45What do you want to do? Well, before you do
- 2:21:47donations, I want to talk about a donation right quick,
- 2:21:52if you don't mind. Yeah, of course. So one of
- 2:21:54the very first times I heard of No Agenda, and
- 2:21:57it was somewhere between three and four years ago, and
- 2:21:59I was driving back, and it was right after I'd
- 2:22:01met Adam. And I said, well, I was driving back
- 2:22:04from Georgetown, and it was about 1 o'clock, and I
- 2:22:07said, oh. I'm going to listen live, you know, and
- 2:22:09hadn't done that yet. And so I'm listening live. And
- 2:22:13JCD, you guys were going back and forth, and he
- 2:22:16started ribbing you about your wealthy friends here in Fredericksburg.
- 2:22:22And he said something to the effect, you must be
- 2:22:25getting a lot of dollars out of your wealthy friends
- 2:22:27here in Fredericksburg. And he said, Then you said, no,
- 2:22:30you hadn't gotten a dime yet from no donors from
- 2:22:35Fredericksburg. Adam, I whipped over to the side of the
- 2:22:38road. Yeah. And I made a donation. I bet you
- 2:22:42did, Matt. And I made a donation because I just
- 2:22:45wanted to be able to say from here to eternity
- 2:22:48that I was the first donor in Fredericksburg to the
- 2:22:51Adam Curry Show. Now, I'm not going to tell you
- 2:22:54how much I donated, but it was 40% of what
- 2:22:57was in my checking account that day. Yeah. It's $16.
- 2:23:01Okay, perfect. Brother, I so appreciate you coming on. I
- 2:23:06love talking through the stuff with you. And if you
- 2:23:09want to come back on again, I'm sure we could
- 2:23:12do that. I'd love to do that with you. It's
- 2:23:14a lot of fun. Well, it's a real honor. And
- 2:23:16knowing how many people out there would love to have
- 2:23:19this seat, I just feel very pleased. privilege to sit
- 2:23:22here. And no, you can't get the NDA is very
- 2:23:26clear. I'm not going to give you any details about
- 2:23:29Adam's studio. Or any trade secrets. That's right. No trade
- 2:23:33secrets. Thank you again, Adam. Thank you, brother. Morning, meatbags.

- 2:25:23him so much. Anybody's welcome to send him in. I
- 2:25:26love playing him during the show now instead of end
- 2:25:27of show. It's a lot of fun. Value for value,
- 2:25:30that is our motto here at the No Agenda Show.
- 2:25:35Let me just see. Let me just see. I'm flying
- 2:25:39solo on this here. Let me see. Peak trollage, 876.
- 2:25:44Oh, man, you guys were better on Sunday. Good to
- 2:25:47have you all here, trolls. That is trollroom.io, noagendastream.com. I
- 2:25:51think noagenda.stream also works. So value for value. It's very
- 2:25:55simple. All you have to do is whenever you get
- 2:25:57value out of the podcast, send it back with your
- 2:25:59time, your talent. or your treasure. Time and talent, critical.
- 2:26:03Your boots on the ground. Just anything you can do.
- 2:26:07Telling people about the podcast is extremely helpful. Organizing meetups.
- 2:26:11There's so much that can be done, including artwork for
- 2:26:14the show at noagendaartgenerator.com. And let me see, I don't
- 2:26:18really have anyone to argue with anymore since John isn't
- 2:26:22here with me, but I will say that I love
- 2:26:25Parker Pauly's JCD pest control art. It was definitely something
- 2:26:31different the way it looked with the lettering. And I
- 2:26:34don't think he's an AI guy, actually. It looks like
- 2:26:38he did some work on this. It was just great.
- 2:26:41I love this. I think I even used one of
- 2:26:43the Parker Pauleys for the bat signal this morning. Thank
- 2:26:47you. No agenda art generator, Doc. Let's take a quick
- 2:26:49look. There was some other stuff, I think, that was
- 2:26:53in the running here. We had, oh, I did kind
- 2:26:56of like the beef one, the beef product. The beach
- 2:27:01ball was okay. The order of the ant was cute,
- 2:27:06although I could hear John saying it's too small. Certainly,
- 2:27:10Korean Friends was too small. And I think that was
- 2:27:14really it. Artgenerator.com. It's highly appreciated, all the work that
- 2:27:19you guys do. All the work prompting. Now to thank...
- 2:27:26Our producers who supported us, $50 and above, we thank
- 2:27:30everybody. $200 or more, we give you not just –
- 2:27:34The opportunity to send in a note, which I'll read,
- 2:27:36but also you get an official Hollywood title of associate
- 2:27:39executive producer, $300 above, and you get an executive producer.
- 2:27:43And we have a lot of people coming in for
- 2:27:46the order of the ant, 33333, gets you that handsome
- 2:27:50pin, which Jay has been working on very hard. And
- 2:27:53we start off with Sir Wild Bill. who is in
- 2:27:56Data Center Central in Alexandria, Virginia, $600. He says, I
- 2:28:00am a baronet. Thanks for making no agenda. I'm not
- 2:28:03a spook, but I've been to Gitmo several times. I
- 2:28:07can't say more. God bless Sir Wild Bill, sacred red
- 2:28:10knight of the heart, liberator of California. Is that so?
- 2:28:16Sir J. Moe, Lewiston, Idaho, $350.93. Order of the Antonation
- 2:28:20from Sir J. Moe, Black Baron of North Idaho. Hakan
- 2:28:24Andersen from Portland, Oregon, $350.58. ITM, I started listening in
- 2:28:292022 after my brother hit me in the mouth. This
- 2:28:32podcast has given me so much. I am forever grateful
- 2:28:35for the information and the laughter that you two have
- 2:28:39given me. I'm going to miss JCD's voice. You are
- 2:28:42not alone, my brother. I would like some jobs karma.
- 2:28:44And this last podcast is going to be so much.
- 2:28:45Last donation brings me to knighthood. I would like to
- 2:28:48be known as Sir Tinfoil Viking for the roundtable. Smalhove,
- 2:28:52which is a sheep's head. And Aquavit, a breakfast of
- 2:28:57champions. Keep up the good work, says Hakon Kuhnle. And
- 2:29:02we got your Jobs Karma right here. Jobs, jobs, jobs,
- 2:29:09and jobs. Let's vote for jobs. You got Karma. Sir
- 2:29:16Mike Keillor, Slayer of Taxes in Las Vegas, Nevada, 350.
- 2:29:21Long-time listener from Las Vegas. My first donation was for
- 2:29:24show 267. Wow. I originally learned about the show when
- 2:29:28JCD was on Twit, as many of you did. The
- 2:29:30passing of JCD was devastating. I read his columns back
- 2:29:33in the 80s, and they were often the first thing
- 2:29:35I read when I received those weekly or monthly magazines.
- 2:29:38You are not alone in that, brother. Well, I didn't
- 2:29:40always agree with him. And you're not alone in that
- 2:29:42either. His columns were always thought-provoking. Today is August 26th.
- 2:29:47It's my 60th birthday. And joining the Order of the
- 2:29:50Ant is an awesome gift. And you shall receive such
- 2:29:52order, my friend. Keep up the fight. Help bring the
- 2:29:55truth out. Best regards, Sir Mike Keillor, Slayer of Taxes.
- 2:30:00And let's see, now we have some... Nathan Rottier. Yes,
- 2:30:06Nathan Rottier. He says in the morning it was time
- 2:30:09for my annual donation. This was five hundred dollars, Scandinavian
- 2:30:15dollars at the time. It's now three forty eight fifty
- 2:30:18and sinking. I must admit, John's passing. Hit harder than
- 2:30:23I expected and my prayers go out on behalf of
- 2:30:25the family, friends and Noah Gendon Nation as a whole.
- 2:30:29May healing come as you grieve and God bless you
- 2:30:31all. Thank you, brother. Appreciate that. I remember when Adam
- 2:30:34John were talking regarding what they would do if one
- 2:30:36of them passed. Hmm. We've talked about that a few
- 2:30:40times. They both said that they would get Mo Fax
- 2:30:43as a replacement. No, I think John actually said, you're
- 2:30:46going to get Mo, aren't you? Which he did not
- 2:30:48think was a good idea. Made me smile and then
- 2:30:51a bit more ruefully now. On a different note, show
- 2:30:54day is my birthday. He wants, okay, he's got some
- 2:30:58jingles that I didn't prep. He wants Eating the Dogs.
- 2:31:02Hold on a sec. Eating the Dogs. I'm sorry. I
- 2:31:08dropped the ball on the prep for the jingles here.
- 2:31:11Eating the dogs. That sounds pretty good. Okay. Man, you
- 2:31:16asked for too much for me today. Pretty good. Yes,
- 2:31:20we got pretty good. What in the world is this?
- 2:31:24Uh... That is, man, what is that? I think that's
- 2:31:29the F-35. I'm going to wind it up with an
- 2:31:31F-35 Karma for you. That should do it for you.
- 2:31:35Here we go. They're eating the dogs. I think that
- 2:31:39sounds pretty good. Yeah. You've got... Karma. There you go.
- 2:31:49Jesse Chapotel, 343.75. No note, that earns a double up
- 2:31:54karma for you. You've got... And, of course, in order
- 2:32:01of the end, Sir David Fugizotto. He is the man.
- 2:32:06He is the Duke of America's heartland and the Arabian
- 2:32:08Peninsula, I believe, 343.75. That's probably 333 plus fees. Proud
- 2:32:13to join the fight. I'm doing my part, says Sir
- 2:32:15Dave Fugizotto. Salvatore Tringali, thank you for your courage. No
- 2:32:19jingles, no karma, 343.75. This is Rajinderpal Raj Dosanj. from
- 2:32:26Friant, California. I think that's right, Free and Friant. ITM,
- 2:32:31all caps this note. That doesn't happen often. Our condolences
- 2:32:35to the Dvorak's Curry's and the No Edge in the
- 2:32:36Nation. I've been a long-time listener to the show over
- 2:32:3915 years and 1111 monthly subscribers since September 27th, 2015.
- 2:32:44I'm adding 333.33 for the order of the ant and
- 2:32:47this should always be also put me well over the
- 2:32:49threshold for knighthood. Yes, it does. I would like to
- 2:32:51be knighted as Sir Jagni, oh, Jagni, pronounced Jagni, Sir
- 2:32:55Jagni of the Middleton Lake area. Can I have chai
- 2:32:59and samosas at the round table along with Diljit Dosanj
- 2:33:03Punjabi music? I'd... I forgot to get the musicians in
- 2:33:09for that. Also, add me to the birthday list. I'll
- 2:33:11be turning 59 on August 28th. And he wants some
- 2:33:14F-Karma goat cancer. Goat F-Kancer goat karma. Thank you for
- 2:33:18your courage. God bless. Raj Dosanj. Happy to oblige. Jobs.
- 2:33:24Jobs. Wait, that's not the one. You wanted F-Kancer. Happy
- 2:33:27to fucking get one. fucking guys It was so much...
- 2:33:33It's so much easier with John. I could... key stuff
- 2:33:38up while he was talking. Ryan Jacobs, 34375, Order of
- 2:33:42the Ant for you. Like many others, I got hit
- 2:33:44in the mouth during COVID and your show helped ground
- 2:33:46me. This is my first donation. Please de-douche me. You've
- 2:33:50been de-douched. Missing JCD like so many others, it would
- 2:33:55be an honor to be a member of the Order
- 2:33:57of the Ant. Thanks, Ryan. Sir, becoming heroic, 33333, ants,
- 2:34:01ants, ants. Yes, sir, you are in the order. Sarcastic
- 2:34:04the Nomad from Glenmore, Pennsylvania with 33333. And he's celebrating
- 2:34:0930 years of his wedded bliss with his keeper. And
- 2:34:13I never had a fight. I never want to fight,
- 2:34:16he says. This donation will make me a Viscount. I
- 2:34:19claim Chester County if the Peerage Committee approves. So done.
- 2:34:23Adam, please plug the Chester Springs Meetup on August 30th.
- 2:34:27Well, there you go. The Chester Springs Meetup in Pennsylvania
- 2:34:30on the 30th. No jingles, no karma. Sarcastic the Nomad.

- 2:34:43family-owned operating splicing company. My wife helps with crew deployment
- 2:34:48as well as managing our books, all while managing the
- 2:34:50house and homeschooling our four human resources. I stay in

- 2:34:56things. Work is going well, and we are truly blessed.
- 2:34:59We built new fiber to the home networks, maintaining existing
- 2:35:02fiber, and have recently started to cable... or dabble in
- 2:35:06data centers and I'd love to give back to my
- 2:35:08community with an insider's peak okay Here we go. So
- 2:35:12far, we have only done some acceptance testing on the
- 2:35:15fiber network running through most of the Midwest. These networks
- 2:35:18are being built or upgrading on preparation for the data
- 2:35:21center traffic, so I cannot provide a boots on the
- 2:35:23ground reporting from inside the data center. Friends who do
- 2:35:26that work say the same problems exist in the data
- 2:35:28center projects as the fiber to the home project. Materials
- 2:35:31and labor are short. short. All of the ISPs have
- 2:35:34been racing for many years to take the Obama rural
- 2:35:37development of fiber. That's right. We got it here in
- 2:35:39Fredericksburg. All the poor people in rural Fredericksburg got fiber.
- 2:35:43Okay. They've been racing to get the money. They're all
- 2:35:45getting ready to do the same thing with the next
- 2:35:47wave of government funding. Joey's bead, broadband equity access and
- 2:35:51development. That's from the O'Biden administration. They're trying to cover
- 2:35:56as much ground as possible, as quickly as possible, and
- 2:35:59the supply chain is stressed. In general, the industry as
- 2:36:01a whole is tapped. Another problem for the data center
- 2:36:04build-out. I'm splatter. Thank you. someone who has been hit
- 2:36:27in the mouth. There you go. That's a prerequisite. We

- 2:37:10Wes Stewart, Mesa, Arizona 250. What is the best birthday
- 2:37:13gift someone can give themselves? Of course, it's a producership
- 2:37:16for the No Agenda show that takes them to knighthood.
- 2:37:19On the 28th, I will have completed my 63rd revolution
- 2:37:22around the sun. Like me, Adam, you are Generation Jones,
- 2:37:25not a boomer or Gen Xer. I'm the face of
- 2:37:28Gen X, though. My first ever producership was sadly John's
- 2:37:31last episode. I forgot to mention on that note that
- 2:37:34it was an inside track donation because he is the
- 2:37:37person who brought me to Noah Jen the Nation. My
- 2:37:40deepest condolences to the Dvorak and Curry families. It does
- 2:37:43really feel like we all lost a loved one. No
