Transcript
- 0:10Speaker 1: God bless football, Mikey A.
- 0:15Speaker 2: God bless football, Taylor.
- 0:17Speaker 3: God bless football.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Why are you saying it like that, Mikey?
- 0:19Speaker 1: Adam Thielen is going to join us in about five,
- 0:21Speaker 1: six minutes here. I'm looking forward to catching up with
- 0:23Speaker 1: our friend from Lake Tahoe, Mikey A.
- 0:25Speaker 4: I mean, come on. Where's the zest? Where's some pep
- 0:28Speaker 4: in your step? Let's go.
- 0:29Speaker 2: God bless.
- 0:30Speaker 4: God bless football.
- 0:33Speaker 3: I'm with Mikey today.
- 0:35Speaker 5: There hasn't been a worse stretch of coaches in all
- 0:39Speaker 5: of sports history than Adam Gase to Robert Sala to
- 0:43Speaker 5: to Aaron Glenn, and somehow they are getting worse with
- 0:47Speaker 5: each one.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:49Speaker 1: It's the Jets, man. Like, I understand, Mikey. I understand
- 0:53Speaker 1: you being despondent. I understand that, but we still love football,
- 0:56Speaker 1: all forms of it. Despite the Jets.
- 0:59Speaker 2: What was lovable about yesterday?
- 1:00Speaker 6: What was lovable about the Sunday we got? Was it
- 1:05Speaker 6: Saints-Steelers in Paris? Was that what made you think, God
- 1:10Speaker 6: bless football? Because it didn't do it for me. How
- 1:12Speaker 6: about that game last night? That barn burner that we
- 1:15Speaker 6: got to watch. Where it's, oh, it's going to be
- 1:17Speaker 6: the Chiefs. They're 6-0. They're taking on the Seahawks. Oh,
- 1:22Speaker 6: it's going to be so great.
- 1:23Speaker 2: You know what? It was a boring game. God bless football.
- 1:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:26Speaker 1: How about that Browns game over the Titans? I mean,
- 1:29Speaker 1: how about, you know, I don't know, the Buccaneers upsetting
- 1:31Speaker 1: and blowing out the Panthers.
- 1:33Speaker 4: How about that Bengals second half, Mikey, eh?
- 1:37Speaker 2: How about that Bengals first half?
- 1:38Speaker 6: I was actually rooting for Snoop Hundley to win a floaty,
- 1:42Speaker 6: and frankly, I think it floatied away.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Well, no, he floats too long. That's the problem.
- 1:47Speaker 3: He's never meant to float this long.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Yes, that's correct.
- 1:50Speaker 2: You're right.
- 1:51Speaker 1: You keep him afloat for a half. You keep him
- 1:52Speaker 1: afloat even for a game. He's a Hall of Famer
- 1:54Speaker 1: at that. You ask him to stretch it out to
- 1:56Speaker 1: three or four games, it gets ugly.
- 1:58Speaker 4: I mean, it does.
- 2:00Speaker 6: I'll tell you, we got a new easy floaty champion
- 2:03Speaker 6: right now.
- 2:04Speaker 8: Easy.
- 2:04Speaker 7: Who?
- 2:05Speaker 2: Not even like I close it down. It's Jameis Winston.
- 2:09Speaker 6: Jameis Winston kept them so far above 500.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Just till the starter, J.J. McCarthy, could come in.
- 2:17Speaker 4: At least it's not.
- 2:19Speaker 1: At least good things aren't happening to the other team
- 2:22Speaker 1: that plays in our building.
- 2:24Speaker 6: Amazing what happens when you get a good head coach.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Not even good. Mikey, not even good. Competent.
- 2:31Speaker 2: He's a great head coach.
- 2:32Speaker 5: Well, Harbaugh's a great coach, and I think Days like Sunday,
- 2:36Speaker 5: you see the difference in coaching between the Jets and
- 2:38Speaker 5: the Giants.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:40Speaker 4: I've been seeing it for my entire life. I mean, seriously.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Even when the Giants were bad, I was yearning to
- 2:46Speaker 1: be them. Let's get to winners and losers here from
- 2:48Speaker 1: the weekend. Taylor's winners and losers from the football weekend
- 2:52Speaker 1: here before we get to Adam Thielen.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Let me apologize.
- 2:58Speaker 7: Let me apologize.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Mikey has winners and losers, but I have a feeling
- 3:02Speaker 1: just based on the start of.
- 3:03Speaker 4: This episode, who his losers are going to be.
- 3:06Speaker 2: It's an awful lot of losers. Go ahead, Taylor.
- 3:10Speaker 5: I'll start with a winner for some positivity. Cam Scadaboo,
- 3:14Speaker 5: after being benched by John Harbaugh a week earlier. That
- 3:17Speaker 5: was how you respond, Scadaboo. Career-best performance against Houston. Rushes
- 3:22Speaker 5: for 124 yards.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Touchdown.
- 3:24Speaker 5: 42-yard run. Put the Giants in position in that overtime victory.
- 3:28Speaker 5: First 100-yard rushing game of his NFL career.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Remind me to put Scadaboo on the list of athletes
- 3:34Speaker 1: that could own Halloween later this week, okay?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Scadaboo.
- 3:37Speaker 7: Yes. Thank you.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Mikey?
- 3:41Speaker 2: First loser. How about we go to... I lost my
- 3:46Speaker 2: thing here.
- 3:47Speaker 6: How about we go to the Panthers and everything that
- 3:52Speaker 6: they had built up for us only to get just
- 3:55Speaker 6: rolled by the Bucs who were sitting at two wins
- 3:58Speaker 6: coming into the game. Bryce Young, 14-27 for 163 yards
- 4:01Speaker 6: against the vaunted Buccaneers defense. I can't figure out the
- 4:09Speaker 6: NFC South. I think it's just a coin flip every week.
- 4:14Speaker 6: The Bucs are back in it. Squarely back in it.
- 4:17Speaker 6: They put a chip back on Baker's shoulder. They put
- 4:20Speaker 6: a chip back on his shoulder by saying, oh, this
- 4:23Speaker 6: other kid is pretty good.
- 4:24Speaker 1: You see the score and don't watch the game, and
- 4:26Speaker 1: you see 43-13 and figure Baker did.
- 4:28Speaker 4: A lot and he didn't.
- 4:30Speaker 3: No, they didn't have to. Their rushing attack was unbelievable.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Bucky Irving, yes. Taylor, go ahead here.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Speaking of NFC South and rushing attacks, the losers, the
- 4:41Speaker 5: New Orleans Saints rushing attack. The Saints had 18 yards
- 4:45Speaker 5: on 17 carries, and before kneeling it down to end
- 4:48Speaker 5: the game, 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers had more rushing yards than
- 4:52Speaker 5: any Saints player.
- 4:54Speaker 4: It looks good.
- 4:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I mean, he looks good.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Rodgers, yes.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Yes.
- 4:58Speaker 3: The Saints, though.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Bad.
- 5:00Speaker 3: They asked Tyler Schuch.
- 5:02Speaker 5: I'm not sure we've ever asked this much of a
- 5:04Speaker 5: second-year player to try to make a team relevant than
- 5:07Speaker 5: the Saints do with Tyler Schuch.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yes, yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 4: But Aaron does look good. He's turning back the clock
- 5:12Speaker 4: just a little bit.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Like two hours turned it back.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Mikey, you have a winner or loser here?
- 5:21Speaker 6: I've got losers all day. Here's my other loser. The
- 5:24Speaker 6: Houston Texans vaunted defense. Where the hell.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Did it go?
- 5:29Speaker 6: Because they were supposed to be able to stop somebody
- 5:31Speaker 6: like J.J. McCarthy easily, and all the Giants did was.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Go, hey, you know what we're going to do? We're
- 5:35Speaker 2: going to run the ball.
- 5:36Speaker 6: And you figure the Texans would be like, oh, okay,
- 5:38Speaker 6: we'll stop that. Nope, they gave up 27 points to
- 5:41Speaker 6: the Giants behind J.J.
- 5:42Speaker 2: McCarthy.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Yep, the D in D'Amico Ryan's doesn't stand for defense.
- 5:46Speaker 7: I mean.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Eco Ryan's. Amico Ryan's.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Put it on the ball. Should we call him Amico Ryan?
- 6:00Speaker 3: Man, that defense is bad.
- 6:02Speaker 5: Dominique Foxworth, who's been championing for the Texans defense, even
- 6:06Speaker 5: he came out today and said, that defense is dead
- 6:08Speaker 5: to me at this point.
- 6:09Speaker 2: I texted him.
- 6:09Speaker 4: None of us know what we're talking about.
- 6:12Speaker 5: My next winner, Mikey, and this is one where I'm
- 6:15Speaker 5: going to have to walk back some of my takes.
- 6:17Speaker 5: because he might be getting healthy, Bo Nix. And we're
- 6:20Speaker 5: taking it with a grain of salt because he did
- 6:22Speaker 5: it against the Arizona Cardinals. But yesterday was the version
- 6:26Speaker 5: of Bo Nix that Broncos fans have been waiting to see.
- 6:29Speaker 5: And Sean Payton, he opened up that playbook. Nix finally
- 6:32Speaker 5: showed some flashes of that explosive, dynamic quarterback, Denver Envision,
- 6:35Speaker 5: when it drafted.
- 6:36Speaker 1: No shame in doing it against the Cardinals.
- 6:38Speaker 4: They just beat the Rams. How about that rush by
- 6:41Speaker 4: Bo Nix?
- 6:42Speaker 2: What are the Rams?
- 6:43Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 6:45Speaker 5: Bo Nix, the longest rushing score by an NFL quarterback
- 6:48Speaker 5: since 2022.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Wow.
- 6:51Speaker 2: He's back.
- 6:52Speaker 6: Well, Taylor, if you're going to walk one back, if
- 6:55Speaker 6: you're going to go ahead and take one on the chin,
- 6:56Speaker 6: I will too.
- 6:58Speaker 2: My next biggest loser, Kevin O'Connell, the quarterback whisperer.
- 7:02Speaker 6: Oh, man, dude, it's such a bad look for 1616
- 7:07Speaker 6: points with 10 of those points coming in the fourth quarter.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Kyler Murray doesn't look like he has any business on
- 7:13Speaker 6: an NFL field.
- 7:14Speaker 2: And the Colts are just a sinking organization.
- 7:18Speaker 6: I might be one of those losers with Kevin O'Connell
- 7:21Speaker 6: right now.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Can you call a team a sinking organization when they're undefeated?
- 7:24Speaker 3: They're 6-0.
- 7:25Speaker 7: I said the Colts.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Were a sinking organization.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Oh, the Colts. I'm sorry.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Yes, they are. If only the Vikings had J.J.
- 7:33Speaker 4: McCarthy.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 7:36Speaker 3: They'd be my pick to win the Super Bowl right now.
- 7:38Speaker 4: J.J.
- 7:38Speaker 5: McCarthy made like four throws in that Giants game to
- 7:41Speaker 5: Malik Nabors that he didn't even try to attempt in Minnesota.
- 7:44Speaker 5: And Kevin O'Connell, we hail this guy as a quarterback whisperer.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Speak up.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Finally, you guys are coming around.
- 7:51Speaker 3: I've been with you there.
- 7:53Speaker 4: By the way, Jared Goff.
- 7:54Speaker 2: He has.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Goff hasn't thrown an interception.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Might be the MVP.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Just saying. He's having the best year of his career.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Guess who's not there? Ben Johnson. Anyway, sorry. Just bringing
- 8:04Speaker 4: that back up from last week.
- 8:07Speaker 5: So my next loser, the San Francisco 49ers. It feels
- 8:11Speaker 5: like the injuries have finally caught up to them. And
- 8:15Speaker 5: for weeks now, San Francisco has managed to overcome their
- 8:18Speaker 5: depleted roster, finding ways to win.
- 8:21Speaker 3: But I think there's only so much.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Adversity a team could withstand before it starts showing up
- 8:25Speaker 5: in the win-loss column. The cracks were beginning to show
- 8:28Speaker 5: that second half against the Commanders. The good news for them,
- 8:32Speaker 5: the bye week couldn't be coming at a better time
- 8:34Speaker 5: right now. You rest up, get some of these guys back,
- 8:37Speaker 5: maybe get healthy, regroup, strengthen that team for the second
- 8:41Speaker 5: half of the season, maybe at.
- 8:42Speaker 3: The trade deadline.
- 8:43Speaker 4: I saw Christian McCaffrey on the exercise bike. He's home
- 8:46Speaker 4: away from home.
- 8:47Speaker 3: It was only a matter of time.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Put it on the ball.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It's the stationary bike on the sideline. Christian McCaffrey's home
- 8:55Speaker 1: away from home.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Mike.
- 9:00Speaker 6: My next loser, Monday Night Football. Thursday Night Football is
- 9:04Speaker 6: just pantsing Monday Night Football. They are coming out with
- 9:07Speaker 6: banger after banger on Thursday night. I mean, this week alone,
- 9:11Speaker 6: we're getting Panthers-Packers. That's after Patriots-Bears, Seahawks-Broncos. And meanwhile, Monday
- 9:18Speaker 6: Night Football is trying to sell me on this Cowboys-Eagles
- 9:21Speaker 6: game tonight.
- 9:21Speaker 2: And I'm like, I might watch the World Series.
- 9:24Speaker 6: If nothing else, I'll tell you now, the World Series
- 9:29Speaker 6: is going to go on TV One.
- 9:30Speaker 2: That's going to happen. And that's after they gave us
- 9:32Speaker 2: Commanders-Niners last week.
- 9:34Speaker 9: Right.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Well, you get Bears-Seahawks next week, just to be fair
- 9:37Speaker 1: to Monday Night Football.
- 9:39Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 9:42Speaker 4: It's an odd thing to want to be fair to,
- 9:44Speaker 4: Monday Night Football.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Jaguars-Ravens is going to be Thursday night.
- 9:48Speaker 1: In fairness, Eagles-Cowboys sounded good before the season.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Always does.
- 9:52Speaker 7: Always does.
- 9:53Speaker 8: Sure.
- 9:54Speaker 6: But the Cowboys always will let us down. They will
- 9:57Speaker 6: always let us down. And someday, maybe.
- 10:00Speaker 2: We'll learn.
- 10:00Speaker 4: All right. We haven't learned on the Jets, me and you. Taylor,
- 10:05Speaker 4: one more here.
- 10:06Speaker 5: My last loser, and it's the biggest loser. We've talked
- 10:09Speaker 5: about it a bit. Aaron Glenn's job security. At this point,
- 10:12Speaker 5: it's not a matter of if Aaron Glenn gets fired,
- 10:15Speaker 5: but when. The only question now is how much longer
- 10:18Speaker 5: the Jets are willing to drag this out as they
- 10:21Speaker 5: get ready for a Raiders team that probably is going
- 10:24Speaker 5: to start or could start Fernando Mendoza. My biggest problem
- 10:28Speaker 5: with Aaron Glenn this week is besides just his general incompetence,
- 10:33Speaker 5: at halftime, he was yucking it up with the side
- 10:36Speaker 5: on the reporter, making fun of his own incompetence from
- 10:39Speaker 5: the prior week, where it's like, Aaron Glenn, if you're
- 10:42Speaker 5: not going to show signs of improvement, don't be looking
- 10:45Speaker 5: like you're having a grand old time laughing about how
- 10:48Speaker 5: you didn't know that your team didn't start with a
- 10:50Speaker 5: ball last week.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I mean, sometimes when things are so bad and you're
- 10:52Speaker 1: so bad at your job, you just got to laugh.
- 10:54Speaker 4: You just got to laugh. That's it. I mean.
- 10:57Speaker 6: See, I want to just flip the script. I got
- 11:00Speaker 6: Aaron Glenn as one of my biggest winners of the weekend.
- 11:03Speaker 6: I mean, that guy put together a staff that guarantees
- 11:06Speaker 6: he's not getting fired until the offseason.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Because there is nobody.
- 11:10Speaker 6: On that staff you could point to and be like,
- 11:13Speaker 6: you know what? That's going to be my head coach.
- 11:15Speaker 6: You're looking at me funny because I know who you're
- 11:17Speaker 6: thinking about. You're thinking about Frank Reich. Oh, you're thinking
- 11:20Speaker 6: about it. Let's take a look at Frank Reich's last
- 11:22Speaker 6: few coaching stops, and then we'll go, hey, you know what?
- 11:24Speaker 6: Maybe you don't want that guy coaching your team. Not
- 11:27Speaker 6: to mention, he's got Garrett Wilson, and he refuses to
- 11:30Speaker 6: get him the ball.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Well, let's make that guy.
- 11:32Speaker 6: Oh, how about the special teams coordinator? Oh, they have
- 11:35Speaker 6: one of the worst special team units in the world.
- 11:37Speaker 6: How about the defensive coordinator?
- 11:39Speaker 2: Name him. Oh, you can't? That's why.
- 11:41Speaker 7: Yep.
- 11:42Speaker 4: If only they had J.J. McCarthy.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Gino's not the problem.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Gino's not the answer. He's not the problem.
- 11:51Speaker 3: He's not the answer either.
- 11:52Speaker 4: I mean, J.J. would be a better answer. Long term.
- 11:58Speaker 6: Remember when Kenyon Sadiq was going to be the next
- 12:00Speaker 6: biggest player?
- 12:02Speaker 7: I remember it all.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Omar Cooper, though?
- 12:03Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a good player.
- 12:04Speaker 3: I think we found something.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yes, yes. Do yourself a favor. Don't go pick up
- 12:08Speaker 2: Omar Cooper Jr.
- 12:09Speaker 6: Because he's going to be nonexistent the rest of the
- 12:11Speaker 6: year because that's how this Jets team operates.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Taylor said they found something.
- 12:16Speaker 1: What they found is someone who won't be playing for
- 12:18Speaker 1: the Jets in about three years. Adam Thielen next. Welcome

- 14:02Speaker 1: you get your podcasts, it's available. And Adam Thielen joins us.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Right now.
- 14:07Speaker 1: You were on vacation last week. I'm wondering, how do
- 14:09Speaker 1: you like this retirement thing?
- 14:10Speaker 7: I mean, it's not bad. It could be worse. That's
- 14:14Speaker 7: for sure.
- 14:14Speaker 8: But no, yeah, we've, we've, we've had a good time
- 14:17Speaker 8: with the kids and I'm still staying busy.
- 14:19Speaker 7: I'm still working a little bit.
- 14:20Speaker 8: So doing the pod and doing ESPN and doing some
- 14:24Speaker 8: radio stuff. So staying busy when the kids are busy
- 14:27Speaker 8: and then, you know, enjoying my time with them and
- 14:29Speaker 8: coaching them and all the sports and, going on some vacations.
- 14:32Speaker 7: So not bad.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Very nice.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Are you enjoying the media thing? Doing ESPN, doing your
- 14:36Speaker 1: own pod, dialed? Are you enjoying all of that?
- 14:39Speaker 7: I love it. Yeah, I love it.
- 14:40Speaker 8: I love the flexibility of kind of doing it on
- 14:44Speaker 8: my terms, obviously, and when I want to do it.
- 14:46Speaker 8: Not when I want to, but when my kids are
- 14:48Speaker 8: busy in school, I can kind.
- 14:50Speaker 7: Of make that time available. And yeah, I really enjoy it.
- 14:53Speaker 8: I love talking, obviously, football and staying around the game
- 14:56Speaker 8: and watching tape to get prepped for the shows and
- 14:58Speaker 8: doing all that.
- 14:59Speaker 7: Just keeps me around the game.
- 15:01Speaker 8: And, and unfortunately sometimes I, it keeps me too close
- 15:05Speaker 8: to the game where I like, man, I'm watching all
- 15:06Speaker 8: this tape.
- 15:07Speaker 7: I'm like, man, I can still do that.
- 15:08Speaker 8: And I could do it better than some of these guys.
- 15:10Speaker 7: But, uh, I gotta, I gotta be careful there.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I know how much you love football.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I know how much you love the locker room, all
- 15:17Speaker 1: the things that come with playing football. So I asked
- 15:20Speaker 1: you how difficult was it to not have a locker
- 15:22Speaker 1: room to go to, uh, at the start of the season?
- 15:26Speaker 7: It wasn't difficult at all.
- 15:27Speaker 8: Cause I didn't have to go to training camp.
- 15:29Speaker 7: All was good.
- 15:30Speaker 8: But then when those, those games start going and you know, my,
- 15:34Speaker 8: my family went to the first game and you're, you
- 15:36Speaker 8: feel the energy and the atmosphere and, and kind of
- 15:38Speaker 8: watch some of the play and like my body's feeling
- 15:40Speaker 8: pretty good right now. Cause I haven't been hit in
- 15:43Speaker 8: a while. And then you're like, man, maybe I should
- 15:45Speaker 8: keep playing. But no, it's, it's, it is hard. It's
- 15:49Speaker 8: hard to like, give it up, man. I've been doing
- 15:50Speaker 8: it for so long. I've, I've given everything I've had
- 15:54Speaker 8: to this game. And so it's hard to, call it quits, right?
- 15:57Speaker 8: It's hard to give up those opportunities to go out
- 16:00Speaker 8: there and make plays, especially for a team that I.
- 16:03Speaker 7: Grew up rooting for, right?
- 16:04Speaker 8: I grew up a Vikings fan and got to play
- 16:06Speaker 8: there for so long, and now I'm a huge fan again,
- 16:09Speaker 8: so it's hard to... you know, sometimes you're like, man, well,
- 16:13Speaker 8: I could go help that team.
- 16:14Speaker 2: But it is what it is.
- 16:15Speaker 7: I'm retired now.
- 16:16Speaker 4: I mean, you can if you want to at some point,
- 16:18Speaker 4: you know, if something happens.
- 16:21Speaker 7: I better not.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Wait, so as a Vikings fan, because you're a fan now,
- 16:25Speaker 1: not a player, as a fan, how hard was it
- 16:28Speaker 1: to watch J.J.
- 16:29Speaker 4: McCarthy perform that well for the Giants?
- 16:32Speaker 7: I mean, not hard.
- 16:33Speaker 8: I loved it, man. I'm so happy for him. I
- 16:35Speaker 8: got to know him before he was on the Vikings.
- 16:39Speaker 8: Or sorry, before I was on the Vikings and played
- 16:41Speaker 8: with him. I was still in Carolina. We got to
- 16:43Speaker 8: throw together in the summers. And then, you know, we
- 16:45Speaker 8: got to play with him last year. And just so
- 16:48Speaker 8: happy for him. I mean, everyone loves that guy. Even
- 16:50Speaker 8: the organization, man.
- 16:51Speaker 7: They love him. They love him.
- 16:52Speaker 8: He's a great kid. He's a hard worker. He's got
- 16:55Speaker 8: a great mindset. He's got a great attitude. Everybody in
- 16:58Speaker 8: that building loves that guy. It just didn't work out.
- 17:01Speaker 8: And so those are the guys that that work hard,
- 17:03Speaker 8: they do things right, that you root for and you
- 17:06Speaker 8: hope they have success. They just need a fresh start.
- 17:08Speaker 8: And both sides, they needed a fresh start with it.
- 17:11Speaker 8: So it is what it is. And I think everybody's
- 17:13Speaker 8: proud of him and excited for his new opportunity.
- 17:16Speaker 5: Adam, the Minnesota Vikings, the last undefeated team in the NFL,
- 17:19Speaker 5: I'm sure everybody saw that coming before the season got started.
- 17:23Speaker 5: It still feels like, though, this Minnesota Vikings team is
- 17:26Speaker 5: kind of flying under the radar. What more do you
- 17:28Speaker 5: think they have to prove before people start taking them
- 17:31Speaker 5: seriously as a potential Super Bowl contender?
- 17:35Speaker 8: Well, I don't know if they want people to think
- 17:37Speaker 8: of them as a Super Bowl contender. I think they
- 17:39Speaker 8: like where they're at, right? Just stay under the radar,
- 17:41Speaker 8: keep winning games. Now, if you're losing games, it's a
- 17:43Speaker 8: different story. But right now, it's like, hey, you're sneaking
- 17:46Speaker 8: them out. You're finding a way to win. You're gaining
- 17:48Speaker 8: confidence as a team. You're starting to get clicking a
- 17:51Speaker 8: little bit on offense. You're showing flashes of it, right?
- 17:55Speaker 8: And defense has played super consistent at an extremely high
- 17:59Speaker 8: level week in, week out.
- 18:01Speaker 7: Like, it is what it is.
- 18:02Speaker 8: I've seen teams win Super Bowls with just good defense, right? Like,
- 18:06Speaker 8: the defense wins championships. Everyone talks about it. As an
- 18:08Speaker 8: offensive guy, it kills me to say.
- 18:10Speaker 7: But It's true. And so it is what it is.
- 18:13Speaker 8: And, and there's a little bit of like, and Kevin's
- 18:17Speaker 8: alluded to it in his press conference and things like that.
- 18:19Speaker 8: There's a little bit of like, he's calling plays based
- 18:22Speaker 8: off of his defense.
- 18:23Speaker 7: Like his defense is playing really well.
- 18:25Speaker 8: And in the games, they're consistently continuing to play well.
- 18:28Speaker 8: Like he doesn't have to get super aggressive and doesn't
- 18:31Speaker 8: have to like put the ball at risk to have
- 18:35Speaker 8: turnovers and things like that.
- 18:36Speaker 7: So It's like keep winning games. Who cares? And eventually
- 18:39Speaker 7: they're going to have to, and he knows that.
- 18:40Speaker 8: Eventually you're going to play a team that has a
- 18:43Speaker 8: really good offense and a really good defense that you're
- 18:45Speaker 8: going to have to score points, and you're going to
- 18:47Speaker 8: have to be a little bit more aggressive in your
- 18:49Speaker 8: play calling, and they.
- 18:51Speaker 7: Just haven't been there yet. So it is what it is.
- 18:53Speaker 7: You're 6-0.
- 18:54Speaker 8: You're the last undefeated team. Keep sneaking away wins.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Listen, you know Brian Flores.
- 18:59Speaker 1: You have played against his defenses in practice, and so
- 19:02Speaker 1: I'm just wondering what makes him different?
- 19:04Speaker 4: What makes him so special?
- 19:06Speaker 3: As a D coordinator?
- 19:08Speaker 7: He's not afraid.
- 19:09Speaker 8: Most guys are like, you know, I'm not afraid of
- 19:11Speaker 8: once or twice or, or in the middle of the
- 19:13Speaker 8: game when the situations aren't win or lose territory, I
- 19:17Speaker 8: guess you could say, or, or crucial situations. But he's
- 19:20Speaker 8: a guy that doesn't care. Doesn't care the situation. Doesn't
- 19:23Speaker 8: care what quarter it is. The game's on the line.
- 19:26Speaker 8: Like he's coming after you and he's going to play
- 19:29Speaker 8: a cat and mouse game with you to say, you
- 19:31Speaker 8: don't think I'm.
- 19:32Speaker 7: Going to blitz here. All right.
- 19:34Speaker 8: You don't you think that I'm going to drop out
- 19:36Speaker 8: here or you think I'm going to blitz here?
- 19:38Speaker 7: I'm going to drop out like he plays this.
- 19:39Speaker 8: Cat and mouse game so well because he's not afraid.
- 19:42Speaker 8: And I thought it was the coolest thing, the week
- 19:45Speaker 8: one uh playing green bay at home and in the
- 19:48Speaker 8: moment i was like man what is he doing but
- 19:50Speaker 8: now i look back i'm like i'm so glad he
- 19:51Speaker 8: did it but it's like the end of the half
- 19:54Speaker 8: and uh green bay's got some momentum oh sorry they
- 19:58Speaker 8: had momentum in the first half vikings go down we
- 20:02Speaker 8: finally score and start to gain some momentum back they
- 20:05Speaker 8: go down and he goes cover zero cover zero cover
- 20:09Speaker 8: zero And they go right down the field score right
- 20:11Speaker 8: before half. And everyone's like, man, including myself, like, what
- 20:14Speaker 8: are we doing? Like, situation football, you got to know.
- 20:16Speaker 8: But then you, like, look back and you're like, I'm
- 20:17Speaker 8: so glad he did that because now every team is
- 20:19Speaker 8: afraid of that.
- 20:20Speaker 7: Right.
- 20:20Speaker 8: Because he doesn't care. And so he does a really
- 20:23Speaker 8: good job, too, of empowering his players. He's got guys
- 20:26Speaker 8: out there like Harrison Smith and Blake Cashman that he
- 20:30Speaker 8: trusts so much that if they see something that they
- 20:33Speaker 8: know that the offense maybe knows what they're doing, like,
- 20:36Speaker 8: they'll just switch out of it. And he's okay with that.
- 20:39Speaker 8: And he empowers those guys. And not all the guys,
- 20:41Speaker 8: trust me. He doesn't empower all the guys. But there's
- 20:43Speaker 8: a few guys that he empowers to kind of have
- 20:45Speaker 8: the keys and kind of be the coach on the field,
- 20:47Speaker 8: which has really made them difficult to scheme up against.
- 20:51Speaker 5: Adam, knowing how much coaching matters to a team's success,
- 20:53Speaker 5: are you still surprised by how quickly John Harbaugh has
- 20:57Speaker 5: turned the Giants into a team that's exceeding expectations and
- 21:00Speaker 5: might win that division?
- 21:03Speaker 7: Yes.
- 21:03Speaker 8: And I'll say this, and I'll be honest here. Uh,
- 21:07Speaker 8: I was not, I, he's proven me wrong. I did
- 21:11Speaker 8: not think that was a good hire. Uh, I just
- 21:13Speaker 8: thought that, you know, he's, he's, he's had his time, um,
- 21:17Speaker 8: and maybe a little old school mentality. I don't know
- 21:19Speaker 8: if they work and he's totally proved me wrong. I mean,
- 21:22Speaker 8: he obviously knows how to win. He knows how to
- 21:25Speaker 8: lead a team. He knows how to develop and understand
- 21:28Speaker 8: talent and put guys in positions to have success.
- 21:32Speaker 7: And, and I was wrong.
- 21:33Speaker 8: I was, I was very wrong because he's doing an
- 21:35Speaker 8: unbelievable job with a team. that doesn't necessarily have all
- 21:40Speaker 8: the talent in the world, but they're just finding ways
- 21:41Speaker 8: to win. And he's putting guys, he's empowering guys to
- 21:45Speaker 8: have success and putting them in good positions. And he
- 21:47Speaker 8: trusted a guy that came from Minnesota three weeks ago
- 21:50Speaker 8: to be the starting quarterback and give them the reins
- 21:54Speaker 8: of the offense. And he's proven that those decisions were
- 21:58Speaker 8: the right moves. And so a lot of respect for him.
- 22:02Speaker 8: And even though, again, I didn't necessarily think it was
- 22:04Speaker 8: the greatest hire, but obviously it was.
- 22:06Speaker 7: And people are wrong at times, and I was wrong.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Phelan, what the hell is going on with the Browns?
- 22:11Speaker 1: How are they in first place? What is happening here, man?
- 22:15Speaker 7: Again, like, man, prove me wrong, and I love it.
- 22:19Speaker 8: They hire someone that was maybe a little bit of
- 22:21Speaker 8: a flyer hire that has been overlooked for a long
- 22:25Speaker 8: time as a head coach and done really well as
- 22:28Speaker 8: a play caller.
- 22:32Speaker 7: But never really got the opportunity. And then, like, man, like,
- 22:35Speaker 7: turned it around, like, ASAP. Like, so cool. And there's
- 22:38Speaker 7: so many teams like that.
- 22:38Speaker 8: Even, you know, Stefanski leaves Cleveland and gets fired and
- 22:42Speaker 8: then goes there and, like, rough start first couple games.
- 22:45Speaker 7: And, like, look how well they're playing. Like, it's crazy.
- 22:48Speaker 8: And that's what makes the NFL so great is you
- 22:50Speaker 8: never know. Like, going into the season, you probably couldn't have–
- 22:54Speaker 8: I mean, no one probably picked the division leaders right now.
- 22:57Speaker 8: Like no one would have guessed that that's how it
- 22:58Speaker 8: was going to play out.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:00Speaker 7: And so that's why the NFL is so great.
- 23:02Speaker 8: And that's why they are flying high as far as
- 23:05Speaker 8: people watching games and international, just the growth of the game.
- 23:11Speaker 8: And I love it. I can't wait for Sundays. I
- 23:13Speaker 8: can't wait to put on all the games. four box
- 23:17Speaker 8: on the TV to watch all the games and watch
- 23:19Speaker 8: it with my son who's looking at his fantasy teams
- 23:22Speaker 8: and all that.
- 23:22Speaker 7: It's the best, man. It's the best sport.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Wait, so it just dawned on me. This is the
- 23:25Speaker 1: first time you've had the opportunity to do this. So
- 23:28Speaker 1: what's a Sunday afternoon look like at the Thielen household?
- 23:31Speaker 3: It's gross, right?
- 23:31Speaker 4: It's great and gross.
- 23:33Speaker 7: Yes, it's unbelievable.
- 23:35Speaker 8: Honestly, it's the best thing ever. It's funny because when
- 23:38Speaker 8: I was playing... and we'd play on a Thursday game,
- 23:41Speaker 8: or we'd have a bye week, and I got a
- 23:43Speaker 8: Sunday to sit on the couch and watch football. I
- 23:46Speaker 8: was sitting on the couch and watching football, and now
- 23:49Speaker 8: my boys are into it, and they love it, and
- 23:51Speaker 8: so it's so fun.
- 23:52Speaker 7: I took my middle child, my son.
- 23:55Speaker 8: To the Gopher game on Saturday, Minnesota Gophers, and they
- 24:00Speaker 8: played Iowa, which is a big rivalry, and they won
- 24:03Speaker 8: the game, and And it's so fun. Like he's locked in,
- 24:06Speaker 8: he's getting up on the chair, waving the flag or
- 24:09Speaker 8: waving the towel. And it's just so fun. It's so
- 24:12Speaker 8: fun to watch the games with them and, and kind
- 24:14Speaker 8: of teach them the game. And my oldest son is
- 24:16Speaker 8: super into fancy football right now. So he's got his
- 24:18Speaker 8: team and he's watching all the games, got the iPad up,
- 24:21Speaker 8: like seeing how many points I'm like, actually, you probably
- 24:23Speaker 8: don't want to need to watch like your team, like like,
- 24:26Speaker 8: the entire time.
- 24:27Speaker 7: Like, just wait until the first game's over.
- 24:28Speaker 2: They can check in.
- 24:29Speaker 7: But he's like, no, no, no. Like, they just got
- 24:31Speaker 7: to catch. He got. 5 points. Like, it's fun.
- 24:35Speaker 1: You'll learn quickly they're rooting for their fantasy team over
- 24:38Speaker 1: their actual team.
- 24:39Speaker 3: They don't care about their actual team.
- 24:40Speaker 4: They care about their fantasy team.
- 24:41Speaker 7: I mean, that's it.
- 24:42Speaker 8: Yeah, well, I've made sure I've set roots. We are
- 24:47Speaker 8: Vikings fans in our house, and we are Timberwolves fans,
- 24:50Speaker 8: and we will root for our hometown teams.
- 24:53Speaker 7: That's what we do.
- 24:55Speaker 8: But yeah, you can root for individual players and do
- 24:57Speaker 8: all that, but we're.
- 24:58Speaker 7: Going to have roots first.
- 25:00Speaker 5: Adam, the one person that I think everybody wishes they
- 25:02Speaker 5: had on their fantasy team right now, Jackson Smith and Jigba,
- 25:05Speaker 5: 867 yards through seven games played. It's the second most
- 25:11Speaker 5: since 2000, only behind Tyreek Hill. Adam, you're sixth on
- 25:14Speaker 5: this list, by the way.
- 25:15Speaker 4: Nice.
- 25:16Speaker 5: You had 822 yards through your first seven games in 2018.
- 25:21Speaker 5: When you watch Jackson Smith and Jigba as a wide receiver,
- 25:24Speaker 5: what makes him so special?
- 25:27Speaker 7: He's an all-around guy, man. You can put him in
- 25:29Speaker 7: the slot. You can put him outside.
- 25:30Speaker 8: It's something that throughout my career, that was what I
- 25:33Speaker 8: was trying to be. And the reason why is because
- 25:37Speaker 8: The OC is like you are at his disposal if
- 25:40Speaker 8: you can play everywhere, if you can run fast, if
- 25:43Speaker 8: you can change direction, if you can make contested catches.
- 25:46Speaker 8: Now he can line you up in the slot. He
- 25:47Speaker 8: can motion you. He can line you up outside. You
- 25:49Speaker 8: got one-on-one. He can put four by one and put
- 25:52Speaker 8: you as a single. Like there's so much they can
- 25:54Speaker 8: do with him because he's so versatile. He can take
- 25:57Speaker 8: the top off. He can run the intermediate routes. He
- 26:00Speaker 8: can run the choice routes out of the backfield. They
- 26:02Speaker 8: can do everything with him. And so that's what really
- 26:04Speaker 8: separates him and makes him different. And and really why.
- 26:07Speaker 8: A lot of these number one guys that have a
- 26:11Speaker 8: lot of continued success, like Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, like
- 26:15Speaker 8: some of these guys is because they have they're versatile.
- 26:18Speaker 7: They have to be.
- 26:19Speaker 8: You can't be that guy, especially once you have one
- 26:22Speaker 8: year of a lot of success.
- 26:24Speaker 7: Every team is trying to take away Jason.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:26Speaker 8: So if he just lines up at X or he
- 26:28Speaker 8: just lines up at Z, like they're going to take
- 26:29Speaker 8: him away. But when you're able to line up in
- 26:31Speaker 8: the slot, you're able to line up in a stack,
- 26:33Speaker 8: you're able to motion, you're able to move you around
- 26:36Speaker 8: and trust that you can run all the routes and
- 26:38Speaker 8: you can do it all, now.
- 26:40Speaker 7: You have a difficult time taking them away.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Adam, Las Vegas is so confusing because Kirk Cousins, by
- 26:45Speaker 1: any stretch, is having a good year. He leads the
- 26:47Speaker 1: NFL in touchdown passes, I believe. He's right up there
- 26:49Speaker 1: in yardage. The team is off to a better start
- 26:51Speaker 1: than expected. But I'm wondering here, Mendoza is sitting there.
- 26:55Speaker 1: So if you're a player in that locker room, Do
- 26:57Speaker 1: you want them to stick with Kirk Cousins? Do you
- 26:59Speaker 1: think they should stick with Cousins or go to Mendoza now?
- 27:02Speaker 8: Well, I haven't watched the last few weeks. But before that,
- 27:05Speaker 8: I watched a bunch of their games, just watching them back.
- 27:08Speaker 8: And Kirk was playing fantastic.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Yeah, great.
- 27:10Speaker 8: And so I don't think you switch. It's not a
- 27:13Speaker 8: Kirk problem, right? It's a full team thing. And their
- 27:16Speaker 8: whole plan and the whole purpose of bringing Kirk there,
- 27:19Speaker 8: knowing that they were going to draft Mendoza, was to
- 27:22Speaker 8: develop him and to help him to be that role
- 27:25Speaker 8: model of what it looks like to prepare what it
- 27:28Speaker 8: looks like to go through a tough stretch, right? Like
- 27:30Speaker 8: Mendoza has never been through a tough stretch of his career.
- 27:33Speaker 8: And so you have to also learn how to do that.
- 27:35Speaker 8: And you're not in, you're not getting the bullets, right? You're,
- 27:38Speaker 8: you're getting live action without taking the bullets. And so
- 27:42Speaker 8: just keep developing them, put them in the background. They're
- 27:45Speaker 8: not going to win a Superbowl this year. Anyways, whether
- 27:47Speaker 8: he's in there or not, like do the right thing
- 27:50Speaker 8: and develop them the right way.
- 27:52Speaker 7: And let Kirk be Kirk. He's doing a great job.
- 27:54Speaker 8: And again, I haven't watched last week or the week
- 27:56Speaker 8: before and I'm going to do that. But, um, but yeah,
- 27:59Speaker 8: I think either way, especially for the next few weeks,
- 28:01Speaker 8: like you stick with Kirk and they went through a
- 28:04Speaker 8: tough stretch. And if you really look at in detail,
- 28:06Speaker 8: they barely lost to the, to the chiefs. Um, they
- 28:10Speaker 8: barely lost to the next week. I forget who they played.
- 28:12Speaker 8: Like they, they, they took it to the last seconds, right?
- 28:14Speaker 8: Last week they got blown out, but like, it's not
- 28:17Speaker 8: like they're getting blown out every week or, or they're
- 28:19Speaker 8: Owen whatever, like they're still in it. And so just
- 28:22Speaker 8: stick with them and let Mendoza develop.
- 28:25Speaker 4: We have a game for you. We'll get to it
- 28:26Speaker 4: in just a second.
- 28:27Speaker 1: But quickly before that, it just dawned on me, this
- 28:30Speaker 1: also just dawned on me, Halloween.
- 28:32Speaker 4: You've never been home for Halloween, have you?
- 28:35Speaker 8: Not very often. No, I think we played on Halloween
- 28:39Speaker 8: a couple times. But yeah, no, I mean.
- 28:43Speaker 7: Excited.
- 28:44Speaker 8: The kids are all fired up. We've already done some stuff.
- 28:46Speaker 7: Yes.
- 28:46Speaker 8: It's always fun to just be around them and be
- 28:48Speaker 8: a part of it and be nice cold Halloween, I'm sure,
- 28:52Speaker 8: in Minnesota, as it always is.
- 28:53Speaker 7: But excited about it.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Are you a big bar household? Like what kind of
- 28:57Speaker 1: candy will you have at the house? Is it big
- 28:59Speaker 1: bars for the kids coming around the neighborhood or?
- 29:01Speaker 7: That is not my responsibility.
- 29:03Speaker 4: It is now, my friend.
- 29:05Speaker 7: That's a great question. I'm not sure. But in the past,
- 29:11Speaker 7: because people know our house and our community and and.
- 29:15Speaker 8: So like the doorbells ringing forever.
- 29:17Speaker 7: Right.
- 29:18Speaker 8: So in the past, we just put a little sign
- 29:20Speaker 8: out there, put the bucket out there where those people
- 29:23Speaker 8: like take to and move on. But this year, I'm
- 29:26Speaker 8: sure we'll We'll be around a little bit. So we'll
- 29:29Speaker 8: see what.
- 29:29Speaker 7: That looks like.
- 29:30Speaker 2: But I don't know.
- 29:31Speaker 7: I'm always surprised. It's like Christmas, right? I don't know
- 29:33Speaker 7: what presents my kids are getting. I'm just as surprised
- 29:36Speaker 7: as they are. And so it'll be the same thing
- 29:38Speaker 7: with my candy.
- 29:38Speaker 6: You're gonna find out at the same time they do
- 29:41Speaker 6: yeah exactly and they're gonna thank me for it and
- 29:44Speaker 6: i'm like yeah for sure like i knew exactly what.
- 29:46Speaker 4: You'd like yes are you a big costume guy or no.
- 29:50Speaker 8: I am yeah we like we love we love to
- 29:52Speaker 8: do like the family themed costumes so we do one
- 29:54Speaker 8: family themed costume and then each kid gets to pick
- 29:56Speaker 8: their costume that they go as a trick-or-treater.
- 30:01Speaker 7: We enjoy doing that.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Let's get to this game here. Check out his podcast, Dialed,
- 30:05Speaker 1: wherever you get your podcasts. He's all over ESPN as well,
- 30:08Speaker 1: NFL coverage. Just one quick game here. Taylor, give me
- 30:12Speaker 1: the imaging.
- 30:15Speaker 9: There's one table left at the hottest spot in town
- 30:18Speaker 9: and everybody wants it. Who's getting it? And who's getting
- 30:23Speaker 9: left outside? Greatness gets seated. Everyone else waits. This is
- 30:30Speaker 9: One Table.
- 30:31Speaker 1: All right, so it's Thielen's Steakhouse in Minnesota, Minneapolis. By
- 30:37Speaker 1: the way, I have you as the favorite since you're
- 30:39Speaker 1: retired now for Lake Tahoe. I mean, you've got to
- 30:41Speaker 1: beat Marty Fish. Taylor thinks Marty Fish is bad for
- 30:43Speaker 1: the tournament. Because he's become too good. Let somebody else
- 30:47Speaker 1: win it, yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 2: He's become too good.
- 30:50Speaker 7: He's won it like twice.
- 30:53Speaker 3: I know.
- 30:55Speaker 4: I got sidetracked.
- 30:56Speaker 1: So Thielen Steakhouse in Minneapolis, two guys walk in. You
- 31:00Speaker 1: determine which of those two guys gets the one seat
- 31:03Speaker 1: remaining in the restaurant. And we just have one for you.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Normally we go like five deep, but this one is
- 31:09Speaker 1: so good.
- 31:10Speaker 7: It's so rich.
- 31:10Speaker 4: I'm interested in what your answer is going to be.
- 31:13Speaker 4: So Taylor, go ahead.
- 31:14Speaker 5: So Adam, Randy Moss walks in. Justin Jefferson walks in
- 31:19Speaker 5: who gets the table?
- 31:22Speaker 7: Oh, Justin Jefferson.
- 31:23Speaker 9: Wow.
- 31:23Speaker 8: Easy.
- 31:23Speaker 7: Wow.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:24Speaker 7: That's an easy one. That's not even a question. I
- 31:28Speaker 7: played with Justin. Like that's my guy. Like it'd be
- 31:30Speaker 7: different if it was like, if it was like Chris Carter,
- 31:33Speaker 7: Randy Moss. Now I'm like, Oh shoot.
- 31:35Speaker 8: Like now I got to, I got to choose between
- 31:37Speaker 8: two legends that I didn't play with. And I have
- 31:39Speaker 8: like a super personal connection with, but, but yes, Justin
- 31:42Speaker 8: Jefferson all day. Like that's my guy.
- 31:44Speaker 7: And I love Randy. He's my guy too, but I
- 31:46Speaker 7: don't know him quite as well as Justin.
- 31:48Speaker 6: All right.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Shame on us. Uh, Chris Carter, Randy Moss. Who you
- 31:52Speaker 4: going with? There we go.
- 31:53Speaker 7: There we go. I like that.
- 31:55Speaker 8: Um, man, Chris Carter, Randy Moss. Ooh, that's tough. Now that's,
- 32:00Speaker 8: that's real.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 32:02Speaker 7: Here's, here's my thought process.
- 32:03Speaker 8: And I'll tell you who at the end of my
- 32:05Speaker 8: thought process is, man, like I grew up watching both
- 32:08Speaker 8: of them, obviously love them both. Um, Randy Moss, big
- 32:12Speaker 8: play guy, like unbelievable and never know what you're going
- 32:15Speaker 8: to get. Chris Carter, just like the consistency, run all
- 32:18Speaker 8: the routes, the toe tap, catch on the sideline. So
- 32:22Speaker 8: I would go with Chris Carter because that's who I
- 32:25Speaker 8: tried to emulate my game after. I could not do
- 32:27Speaker 8: the things that Randy Moss did as much as I
- 32:29Speaker 8: wanted to in the backyard. I wanted to be like
- 32:32Speaker 8: Chris Carter every single game. My dad would sit there
- 32:36Speaker 8: as he's watching the game and annoyed as crap of me,
- 32:40Speaker 8: but he would throw me a ball and I would
- 32:42Speaker 8: toe tap on the sideline, diving catch into the beanbag
- 32:45Speaker 8: chair and try to be like Chris Carter. So I would,
- 32:47Speaker 8: I would give it to Chris Carter. And then I'd
- 32:49Speaker 8: give all my apologies to Randy Moss. And he probably
- 32:52Speaker 8: never talked to me again. So hopefully he doesn't hear this,
- 32:54Speaker 8: but Chris Carter, my guy, that's a very good answer.
- 32:57Speaker 8: And I lied to you.
- 32:58Speaker 4: We have one more. Go ahead, Taylor.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Quick one.
- 33:00Speaker 5: Adam, John Randall walks in. Jared Allen walks in. Who
- 33:05Speaker 5: gets the table?
- 33:06Speaker 8: Well, that's actually hilarious because I right before you. That's
- 33:10Speaker 8: why I was late is John Randall was in my
- 33:12Speaker 8: my studio right here and we were doing the podcast dialed.
- 33:15Speaker 7: So he's my next guest.
- 33:16Speaker 8: If it gets recorded because I was just scrambling to
- 33:19Speaker 8: get on here as I'm freaking out and they're telling
- 33:22Speaker 8: me to calm down. But I'm like, literally, we just
- 33:23Speaker 8: did this amazing podcast. So much good stuff from John Randall.
- 33:27Speaker 8: And I don't know if we have it, so I'm
- 33:29Speaker 8: still stressing out right now.
- 33:31Speaker 7: But John Randall would get the chair.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Welcome to our world, man. It'll be fun.
- 33:36Speaker 7: Oh, my goodness.
- 33:39Speaker 4: He had the greatest sack celebration of all time on
- 33:41Speaker 4: all fours, right? It was fantastic.
- 33:43Speaker 7: John Randall.
- 33:43Speaker 8: Oh, and like his energy and his attitude. And then
- 33:47Speaker 8: we got into a little bit of his trash talking
- 33:49Speaker 8: and where that came from.
- 33:50Speaker 7: And it's unbelievable.
- 33:51Speaker 8: Like this guy would research these guys he's going against
- 33:54Speaker 8: and know everything about them.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Yes.
- 33:56Speaker 8: And would just have this elite trash talk. So I
- 33:59Speaker 8: wish I would have interviewed him before I started playing
- 34:01Speaker 8: in the NFL because then I would have had better
- 34:03Speaker 8: trash talking.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 34:04Speaker 4: I'm just hoping I can hear it. I mean, that's all. Yeah, yeah.
- 34:08Speaker 7: Thank you for stressing me out more.
- 34:10Speaker 4: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. We're here to help you out. Me, Taylor, Mike, EA.
- 34:15Speaker 4: We're here to help you out in any way.
- 34:16Speaker 2: We can, okay?
- 34:17Speaker 7: I appreciate it.
- 34:18Speaker 4: All right, man.
- 34:19Speaker 1: We appreciate the time. I can't have you on enough, man.
- 34:23Speaker 1: We love having you. And you're fantastic.
- 34:25Speaker 4: So enjoy retirement. Enjoy Halloween. Enjoy finding out what candy
- 34:28Speaker 4: bars you'll have in front of the house.
- 34:31Speaker 7: Yeah, exactly. We'll do it again. It's going to be
- 34:32Speaker 7: a great surprise. Thanks, guys. We'll talk soon.
- 34:35Speaker 3: We'll do it again soon, man.
- 34:36Speaker 7: Thank you.
