- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to the Emotional Mastery Podcast.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I am your host, rochelle.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I'm a holistic, human design health coach and this is a space for human design and spiritual journey.
- 0:10Speaker 1: It's not about being a master of your emotions, rather mastering the tools to self-regulate, to awakening yourself and remembering who you are.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Human design changed my life about five years ago and I've been learning and teaching the system ever since.
- 0:24Speaker 1: This podcast is human design meets spirituality, meets astrology.
- 0:27Speaker 1: You don't have to have a belief system to be here, just an open mind and curiosity.
- 0:32Speaker 1: This is a journey of meeting yourself and awakening to your infinite potential.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Now let the magic begin.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of the Emotional Mastery Podcast.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I'm actually recording this today on the lunar eclipse.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I had no intention of recording an episode today, but I was just sitting on the couch reflecting and I was really inspired to come and share the things that have been on my mind, because that is the purpose of this podcast.
- 0:56Speaker 1: But you know, basically, if you're in the spiritual astrology, human design world, I'm sure you've seen so much on Instagram or social media, in your emails like whatever just about the eclipse season and what that might mean for you and what it could look like.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I always think with all these things it's so individual, depending on what your chart looks like, the work that you've done.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You know a lot of harder aspects or a lot of harder transits can be easier if you're putting in the work, if you have the right mindset, if you're able to pull yourself out of your mind and into your body and really just like, integrate and flow and surrender to the process.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So we just got off the collective call this afternoon, the very first call inside the collective.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I so, so excited for this container for so many reasons.
- 1:46Speaker 1: It's just going to be such a beautiful space with all of these women in there with their combined expertise and it really is community oriented and led as well.
- 1:56Speaker 1: So it's not just like we're in there speaking to you, it's this whole beautiful community.
- 2:00Speaker 1: But you know we were talking about the transits and when, when we sort of talking about the transits and when we sort of started tracking the transits and how we began to track the transits, and I just noticed in my own life these patterns that were cycling through in my life.
- 2:14Speaker 1: So I've been divorced and both times were initiated in Scorpio season.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I noticed that Scorpio season tends to be a little bit more intense.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I have Pluto in Scorpio in my fourth house, and the fourth house is the house of the home, but it's ancestors, it's deeper than just like your home.
- 2:28Speaker 1: It's your private life, right?
- 2:29Speaker 1: It's all of those things that we are.
- 2:31Speaker 1: You know, when you think about your house, not everybody can see inside.
- 2:34Speaker 1: You know the four walls of your house, and so it's all those things.
- 2:37Speaker 1: And I noticed a lot of that stuff comes up Pisces season.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I find myself dancing this really fine line between wanting to party and wanting to be deeply spiritual, right, and I think Pisces in itself kind of dances between those two worlds, anyway, between addiction and getting lost in other people and the spirituality.
- 2:54Speaker 1: And I have Jupiter and Pisces in my eighth house, and so that even furthers that.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And of course the eighth house is naturally ruled by Scorpio.
- 3:01Speaker 1: But I say all that just to say that it's really interesting when you start even just like journaling, right, but it's really interesting when you notice the cycles and the patterns of when things happen in your life, and also I tend not to I sort of know what's going on the transits, but I've also noticed that it's so unpredictable I never actually know how I'm going to feel, right, there's some transits that I'm like, oh my gosh, this is going to wreck me, I'm going to be so emotional and I'm fine.
- 3:28Speaker 1: And then there's some transits that I'm like, don't think it's going to be anything and I am just bottomed out.
- 3:34Speaker 1: So I think it's like.
- 3:35Speaker 1: There's also one thing that was said today too, in this call is like there's always a story.
- 3:41Speaker 1: It there's always a story.
- 3:49Speaker 1: It's not just like the one transit, right, it's what happened the last time.
- 3:50Speaker 1: What themes are coming back up, like what does this traditionally, you know, like when you look back in history, like things that have happened.
- 3:53Speaker 1: It's so nuanced and so layered and it's also so beautiful.
- 3:56Speaker 1: And I think that's part of the learning process is to really be a witness to the way you respond, the way your body responds that's why I'm so big on the body to the way you respond, the way your body responds.
- 4:06Speaker 1: That's why I'm so big on the body, right.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Like getting into your body and understanding the ways that your body is speaking to you.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And that's been a lot of my work, as just literally the word like emotions coach came to my mind, even though that's not what I call myself, but that's what I feel like I call my.
- 4:20Speaker 1: That's what I feel like I am, because when I do human design astrology readings, I really focus on that emotions piece and centering yourself and having practices, and because emotions are the body and feelings are the mind.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Right, feelings are the stories.
- 4:35Speaker 1: It's the thought, the mental chatter that we connect to our emotions.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I've talked about it before on the podcast and when Ken Close was on the podcast almost a year ago, he talked about that how, by the age of 30, every emotional experience you are going to have had, you will have had, and so after that, any emotional experience you have, you're attaching to something that happened in the past.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And that's where it gets sticky.
- 5:02Speaker 1: That's where we really need to dive in and ask the hard questions, get to the root of the issue, the trigger, whatever's coming up.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Why is it coming up?
- 5:13Speaker 1: What are you making that mean about you?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Why do you cycle through it?
- 5:16Speaker 1: Why haven't you broken the pattern?
- 5:18Speaker 1: What's the root of that?
- 5:19Speaker 1: Because once we gain awareness of the root, then we're really able to work through it and it doesn't mean you get it right every single time, like it is a journey.
- 5:28Speaker 1: It is a journey, I think, when we see people who have, overnight, like just shifted their entire life, sort of like the transits.
- 5:37Speaker 1: We don't realize how much work has actually gone on.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Sometimes it's in the subconscious right, but there's always a story behind it, there's always something.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Really, there's so much that went into that transformation, that shift, that change, that reaction, those emotions.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I had a moment a couple weeks ago where I, my body, reacted to something so strongly I couldn't even logically understand why I had that response and I had to sit and I had a journal and I had to.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I still am not quite sure, but I just, but I know that my body held some sort of memory that my mind did not, because I knew I was in a safe space.
- 6:17Speaker 1: There was nothing that realistically would have triggered that sort of response, but for some reason my body responded in a way I did not expect.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And it really just goes to show you how deep, how deeply our body you know the book, the body keeps the score, our body holds memory.
- 6:35Speaker 1: It's like children in utero.
- 6:37Speaker 1: They shouldn't remember some of the things that they remember, or sometimes they respond to things that happened when they were pregnant, when their mothers were pregnant, when they were in the womb, and their body remembers those things.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And it's the same even with our ancestors.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Our body, our cells, our DNA.
- 6:57Speaker 1: We hold the memory of the trauma our ancestors have experienced.
- 7:03Speaker 1: It's passed on from seven generations, if not more.
- 7:06Speaker 1: That's sort of daunting when you think about it, and sometimes I think about it when I'm doing this work and I'm like, oh my gosh, how do I even know it's mine and what's my ancestors, and how do I even break those patterns and do something new?
- 7:20Speaker 1: But I think it really is continuing to show up and continuing to do the work.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And really again, you know, with astrology and human design, I took a break about maybe like two years into my human design journey because I realized that I was outsourcing again.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I was outsourcing my decisions or my knowing or whatever to the system instead of the system being a compliment to me.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Now I still will look at human design, I still will look at the transits, I still study my chart and all those things.
- 7:52Speaker 1: But I've come to a place through my practice that I trust myself.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I trust my body.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I don't disregard my body just because my chart says it shouldn't be like that or I shouldn't respond that way or whatever.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I trust myself first and foremost, and then I do the work to unpack that afterwards, like I would get really confused between a trauma response and a no.
- 8:15Speaker 1: And you know, a trauma response I think there's, but there's just a lot to it.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Just like I said, that instance a few weeks ago was a trauma response.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I didn't expect it, so I wasn't actually emotional about it, but my body responded in such a powerful way and so it really takes discerning and my intuition comes from feeling.
- 8:39Speaker 1: My psychic skills, whatever you want to call it, come from feeling, which can be really confusing.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Because I hear sometimes and Sheena and I talked about last week on the podcast but I hear people be like, oh, I hear my guides, or I see my guides, and I've never I mean I'll hear words here and there just like a really loud word in my ear and I'm like whoa, and I've seen something once in my life.
- 9:00Speaker 1: But I shut it down real quick because I was like I don't want to see this.
- 9:03Speaker 1: But to me, all that comes through in feeling, which I think there are challenges in all of it when you're not trusting yourself, and that's a learned practice of trusting yourself.
- 9:13Speaker 1: But I notice now how much easier I can trust myself, trust those feelings.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I recognize the feelings and the patterns that come up, like I just reconnected with someone, I don't know when it was, I don't even know when it was March, it was in March and I had this feeling, just this feeling deep down, that sort of feeling that you can talk yourself out of and you're like what does it even mean?
- 9:41Speaker 1: But I was like you know what I'm not going to ignore that, I'm noting it, I'm taking note of it, I'm pretty sure I journaled around it and that feeling was correct.
- 9:51Speaker 1: I had a instance, incident, instance incident with my bank and like I think it was five years ago, I got scammed and they took like everything in my account and I sort of the same thing happened.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I got a text message and then I got a whole bunch of calls from my bank and I called that number back.
- 10:12Speaker 1: But like I just had a feeling, so I hung up and then I got ahold of my bank and anyway I was right, right and.
- 10:18Speaker 1: But it's just like in little things like that that we trust ourself, right, and I think it comes back to finding a way to ground yourself.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So, movement, meditation, journaling.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I really am loving the superhuman app right now it's like she calls it activation.
- 10:32Speaker 1: So I'm always switching up the way I meditate, I'm always switching up the way I tap in.
- 10:36Speaker 1: It's probably the six, three.
- 10:37Speaker 1: It's this constant third line trial and error, like I want to try everything and we'll see what works for me.
- 10:42Speaker 1: But I do love this one because it's music and it's affirmations and there's something for everything.
- 10:46Speaker 1: There's something for cooking, there's something for sleeping, there's something for walking, working out, just getting ready for your day, pep talks before you go into a meet, like literally there's something for everything.
- 10:56Speaker 1: So I've been sort of experimenting with that.
- 10:58Speaker 1: I've been sleeping to it a lot and I don't know where I was going with that, but oh, finding ways to ground yourself and I think that when you find that space, it's easier to sort of zoom out.
- 11:11Speaker 1: And it takes time because, trust me, it's been so many years, so many years of this process and I'm better able to pull myself out of my mind when I notice where my thoughts are going, when I notice that I'm getting caught up in the stories of my mind and I'm like hold on, this isn't my truth, this doesn't have to be my truth.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Maybe it was at one point, but I'm not going to live there anymore.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I'm going to choose in this moment what path I want to take or what direction I want to go in.
- 11:40Speaker 1: And you know I'm not like manifesting the big things overnight, but I feel the shift and so with this eclipse season, with the eclipse and then the upcoming solar eclipse in April, it's like I wrote the Mastery Monday newsletter and I'm going to try and write a blog.
- 11:58Speaker 1: I've been the worst at blogs lately but it's felt like this really slow boil.
- 12:03Speaker 1: You know that analogy of the frogs in the pot, and if you throw a frog into boiling water they'll jump out, but if you throw a frog in the water before it starts boiling, they'll sit in it.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Right, and it feels like not in like a, not in like a what's the word I'm looking for?
- 12:23Speaker 1: Not like a dark or negative way, that's just like the best analogy I could think of, because it just feels like all these things are slowly happening over time and it's not like this big boom.
- 12:32Speaker 1: But it's interesting when you do look back at the cycle of the eclipses and what happened in September, october of last year, those themes are 100% coming back up and I feel like I'm in a better place to navigate them.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like I'm in a better place to navigate them and notice them, and I don't know my.
- 12:55Speaker 1: You know, relationships are always a lesson for me.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Specifically romantic relationships are always a lesson for me.
- 13:02Speaker 1: But I just truly believe what's available to me, what's coming for me, and I also know that relationships are mirrors and lessons.
- 13:14Speaker 1: And so the relationships that triggering me, the relationships that trigger me yeah, there's one that is sort of triggering me in a little bit.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Half of that, probably more than half of that, is my work to do.
- 13:28Speaker 1: It's not to excuse, because I think that if we articulate our issues to somebody and no change is done, I think just having the hard conversation is helpful.
- 13:41Speaker 1: And if it's a safe situation, I have to say that, because if it's an abusive situation, the conversation is going to be useless.
- 13:47Speaker 1: People don't change unless they want to change, and that was a hard lesson I learned.
- 13:52Speaker 1: But yeah, I just feel like I don't know, I'm just in a really different place, really interesting place.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I'm excited just for life and I think I'm able to pull that out in everyday moments and, like today, I woke up and I was kind of low.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I just had that feeling in my chest and instead of starting to hook on to the stories of, oh well, it's because of this and that, and this person's this and that person's that, and what are you doing?
- 14:19Speaker 1: And I was like, okay, I'm just gonna feel this, I could latch on to the stories or I could just sit in this for just a few minutes.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I did not go to the gym.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I couldn't sleep last night.
- 14:31Speaker 1: So last night was the eclipse.
- 14:32Speaker 1: It was at 2 am Central time.
- 14:33Speaker 1: We had thunderstorms.
- 14:35Speaker 1: That literally 1.46 was when it started.
- 14:37Speaker 1: My son came running into my room he's not a fan of the thunderstorms, so he came running in my room and I just couldn't sleep.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I couldn't fall asleep.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And then I finally did fall asleep and then that started and so I was exhausted.
- 14:52Speaker 1: So I dropped my kids off and I normally go to the gym, but I took a nap, I went to bed and I slept for about 45 minutes, and so I didn't move my body today and I didn't move my body yesterday and I didn't move my body Saturday and an old version of me would have beat up on myself of like you need to get to the gym or you're going to lose all the work that you've done on yourself and blah, blah blah.
- 15:09Speaker 1: And I know that movement serves me, I know movement feels good and also I know I'll get in the gym tomorrow morning.
- 15:17Speaker 1: What my body needed today was just to relax, to take that nap, that extra nap before I started my day, and after that my emotions evened out a little bit.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I also am an emotional being.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It is what it is right.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I ride this wave of emotions and I've come to understand what I don't want to say, what they mean.
- 15:40Speaker 1: But I've just come to understand the wave, the emotional wave, from experimentation.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I feel like I'm five years into my journey and it's really been in the last year that I was able to pull out from this mental, logical learning of human design and really embody and integrate it in a different way.
- 15:57Speaker 1: So the last year of my experimentation with emotional authority has really been helpful and being able to mute those thoughts a little bit and think of something more positive.
- 16:12Speaker 1: It really does shift your energy and it's not to ignore the thoughts that are coming up, it's not to ignore the emotion.
- 16:17Speaker 1: But I think we can experience an emotion without becoming the emotion, and that's been my work.
- 16:25Speaker 1: But it's just.
- 16:29Speaker 1: I was journaling last night because I wanted to do some eclipse stuff.
- 16:32Speaker 1: But I was journaling last night and um, I so the app that I was talking about, the superhuman, has some um journaling audios and I just happened on the one of your perfect or your ideal relationship or something like that and I was like, well, that's very Libra.
- 16:51Speaker 1: So I did that one and I think specifically this one.
- 16:56Speaker 1: So my nodes are in Aries, libra.
- 16:58Speaker 1: My north and south node are in the north node in Aries, south node in Libra.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I'm a Taurus sun and so I'm Venusian in itself.
- 17:06Speaker 1: My rising is Leo, which the sun rules, and so my the sun is my chart ruler.
- 17:12Speaker 1: But the sun is in doris, which is ruled by venus, so I have a very venusian chart, um, and so I all these sort of like venus transits I typically feel really intensely, or I just not even necessarily intensely, I just feel them um.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I'm also reading a book called A Return to Eros.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I love this book, um, highly recommended.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I'm just a few chapters in, but it's so good, it's like poetic and it's about pain and outrageous love and all the things that I swim in and I was watching.
- 17:46Speaker 1: A perfect match.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm like into all these reality shows lately for some reason.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm like into all these reality shows lately for some reason, I don't know why I'm just drawn to them.
- 17:53Speaker 1: But there was this French girl on the show.
- 17:55Speaker 1: So if you've seen it, you know who she.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I can't remember her name right now, but she was talking to one of the guys and she was like you know, love just doesn't make sense.
- 18:02Speaker 1: You know, it's just a feeling and you can have all the other friendship, you can have all the pieces to it, but love doesn't make sense.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Love just it is right and that's like it's so true.
- 18:16Speaker 1: And I think so many of us try and mute our light when it comes to love.
- 18:21Speaker 1: We don't want to show up in a big way because we don't want to be rejected and I don't know.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I've always felt really big, really really big, and so part of me is just like that is who I am and I don't want to mute it because I think it's one of the most beautiful parts of me and he used to make it mean so much like, oh my gosh, if I love this person, that is the one.
- 18:44Speaker 1: It's not true.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I believe that we have soulmates.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I believe that we have really deep connections, but I think that I can.
- 18:52Speaker 1: You can love so many people in this life.
- 18:55Speaker 1: And because you use that phrase like not to, you know he talks about ordinary love in the book and how ordinary love that makes sense.
- 19:04Speaker 1: We get married because it makes sense, because of taxes, because of children, because of all these things.
- 19:07Speaker 1: That's the ordinary love.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Like sure, you probably love that person, but it's not outrageous love.
- 19:16Speaker 1: It's not the love that doesn't make sense and that's the love that literally makes the world go right.
- 19:19Speaker 1: That's the love that pours through our system, that creates art, that creates movies, music.
- 19:25Speaker 1: That is what we're all here seeking In the book.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I can't remember what it's called Dolores Cannon, I don't know why the name of it is escaping me, but she said that Earth when Earth was created.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I don't even know the timeframe, it's probably a long, long, long, long time ago.
- 19:41Speaker 1: My mind can't even wrap around.
- 19:42Speaker 1: But when Earth was first created, there was no life forms on this, there were no people on this planet.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And she explains that people, souls, came here to experience emotion and pleasure in a way that souls cannot experience in a non-3D, non-earthly plane right, and so when we think about that, that really had me thinking like, no wonder people really lean towards addiction.
- 20:11Speaker 1: We're addicted to love, we're addicted to emotion, we're addicted to pain, we're addicted to alcohol, we're addicted to things that will take us out of this.
- 20:20Speaker 1: You know, I drank this weekend and I don't normally drink, and I know if you listen to this for a while, you know I've sort of I gave up for a year and I've sort of had this up and down, but I drank this weekend and I just I enjoyed it.
- 20:38Speaker 1: And there's a part of me sometimes that I think sometimes this work can be so hard that it's nice to be taken out of that for a little bit.
- 20:42Speaker 1: And I always see people that, you know, when people do have addiction problems, it is really hard to be in these bodies, it is really hard to be in these emotional vessels.
- 20:51Speaker 1: It is really really challenging, and so it's like almost like we're craving to be brought back to that soul level and it's like those things open the door for such a brief amount of time.
- 21:02Speaker 1: We get there right, but then our body hurts, we feel hungover, we don't feel good, we have a headache.
- 21:10Speaker 1: The downfall from those types of substances can be really harsh, and so I don't know.
- 21:19Speaker 1: It's something that I always think about.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I think my Jupiter is in Pisces in the eighth house, right?
- 21:23Speaker 1: So drug sex, rock and roll.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I actually was going to talk about.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Sex today was originally what I, in my mind, had planned on coming to talk about, but I was just sitting and reflecting and this felt more what I, in my mind, had planned on coming to talk about, but I was just sitting reflecting and this felt more what I wanted to talk about.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I will definitely talk about sex very soon Just one of my favorite topics, and I think we have so many standards and expectations when it comes to that but I will leave this one here.
- 21:49Speaker 1: So it's gonna be a fairly short episode from me, but I will just leave you with.
- 21:56Speaker 1: You know, if you journal, notice what's coming up Because, like I said in the beginning, all of these are patterns, they're cycles, they're these transits that are happening.
- 22:05Speaker 1: It's not just about this transit, right, it's a story.
- 22:09Speaker 1: There's a story being told of things that happened before.
- 22:12Speaker 1: If you do journal, look back at what happened last time in the last eclipse season and really get to know your chart.
- 22:19Speaker 1: One practice I really love is just taking one piece of your chart and sitting with it for a week, maybe.
- 22:25Speaker 1: So maybe just Jupiter and Pisces in the eighth house.
- 22:27Speaker 1: That's just mine, right?
- 22:28Speaker 1: Read what you can Google, what you can journal, what you can pick out words that make sense, whatever gate that's in For me it's in gate 22.
- 22:35Speaker 1: So just sit with that, right.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Sit with all that information and just let it like sort of just percolate in there and see what comes up, see how you feel.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Notice the aspects, right.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Notice mine is square Venus, so I can be really impulsive with money.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Those are two benefic planets and they're also the two planets that have to do with money.
- 22:53Speaker 1: And so, just like, notice those things, just piece by piece.
- 22:59Speaker 1: You can do with a human design.
