- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Have you ever sat in the bathroom to escape something that's going on in your house?
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: I think everybody at some point, one time or another, has.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Or I can tell you this.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: You camp out there for 20 minutes.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Why is it, and this is an age-old parenting thing, but it happened last night.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Why is it anytime you go in for a good sitting, if you know what I mean?
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: No, what do you mean?
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: That's when chaos erupts in the house.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: So last night.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, uh-huh.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: I had Lydia down.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Finn was laying with her, and I think this is for bed.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, yes, we're past the years of naps.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Except for me.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I'm coming back into them.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Oh, but I went to bed at 7 30.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: I feel like a million bucks right now.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: So, at any rate, Lydia's down, had just been down for maybe I don't know, five, ten minutes.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: And normally Finn will sleep with Lydia because he's picked her, right?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Adorable.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Very sweet.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: And sometimes Gideon will be in there.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: And I don't remember.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: I know Finn was in there.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: But anyway, I uh decided I was going to enjoy a good sitting.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Gavin's not bugging me.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: It's finally your time.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: Everybody's going out.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Eight o'clock, eight thirty at night, and sitting on the throne is my time.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: How long have you been holding that in?
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: And all of a sudden I'm enjoying that, and or maybe not, but uh and then Lydia starts crying and walks up the hall.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, what?
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: And of course your reaction is what, Lydia?
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Because you know I mean I'm bearing down, right?
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: My mom used to always say.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Because I with you, I'm sure it's a little different where she's crying outside of the door.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Well, I would just go in and she would and my mom would go, Can I please have five minutes to myself?
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: There you go, you're proving it.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So I don't know.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Finn knocked something off her nightstand.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: She thought I was gonna get mad.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: It was you know those little beads that you make, the bracelets, the Taylor Swift bracelets.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: So she had one of those things, and we thought it was closed, it opened.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Not at all.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Literally, literally, this is what I said last night.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Can I finish pooping and I'll come and clean it up?
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: I'm not even making this story out.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: 100% real.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Which was nothing to clean up.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: It took it took two minutes, and I said, I'm not even mad at you.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: I get it.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: It happens.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Whatever, big deal.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: But she got so bothered the dog.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: It was a mix of tired and you know, and then that happened and she couldn't find me right away because I was having a sitting.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Okay, but do you ever do it when it's your significant other and you're trying to avoid something like maybe you're having an all-day, a Saturday, all day cleaning sesh.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Oh, and I decide to go take a sitting.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: And then all of a sudden turns in to something that could be 10 minutes and it's a half hour.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: It accuses me of disappearing.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Let me just tell you, I'm getting into it.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Getting into it right now.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: I love this.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: She already accuses me of not helping her clean stuff up, you know, when she does her cleaning days, which start at four o'clock on a Saturday, and I'm like, can we start at 10 a.m.?
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, four o'clock in the afternoon.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: No, in the morning, really?
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, you never know.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: We get up early.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: So um act like that's a far street.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: She's like, you always have to go to the store or do something or leave when I start cleaning.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Here's my thoughts.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Because I've been awake for 98 hours.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Uh, but here's the here's the thought process.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: She has her way and her style and her her priorities of what needs to be cleaned and to what level.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: What am I gonna do that's not gonna have the comment, nope, you missed a spot.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: You know.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Nope.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: You handle what you need handled.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'll stay in my lane and mop the floor.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Wait a second.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: This is I'm so glad you brought this up.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Because I and I don't this is not a negative.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: This is what goes to my head, which is in your mind, lady, lady, that's a great way to start an argument.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Lady, no, in your mind, you have the way you want it done, and you have a process.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: I'm only gonna be in your way.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: So what do you want me to do?
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: She's like, well, you could like wash the mirror while I'm uh uh, you know, while I'm cleaning the counter.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: I'm like, all right, yeah, technically that would work because you're a tiny thing.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: I could reach over you and do the mirror.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: But then it's gonna be streaky and wrong.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: So this happened yesterday.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: I love when there's that one thing in your relationship that they will come back and check your work.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: This happened yesterday.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: So we've now we've now gotten to the point of okay, we're gonna share the a coffee pot.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be programmed, and it's got okay, this is this is Zach's way of doing it.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: Eight cups.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Jesus, which just let me let me translate.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: The wrong way.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Carry on.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: So it's eight cups of water, seven and a half scoops of coffee.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: So I did this yesterday.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: I get home a little bit early because I'm like, I'm not feeling good.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: I just need to lay down.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: So I get home earlier than him yesterday, which doesn't happen all that often.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna prep the coffee for the next morning.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: So he comes and he goes, like, oh, I see that you prepped the coffee.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: And do you know what he did?
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: He lifted up the coffee pot to make sure that there was eight cups.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: And I said, Oh, did you want to take the scoops out of the thing and measure them to make sure I'm like, you're checking my work.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: And he goes, I have to check your work because you do it wrong.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Oh God, and he said it.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, yes.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, he's very, very finicky about his coffee.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: We want honesty, but then we don't want honesty when it comes down to but you because you do it wrong.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: You have to check my work?
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Oh, but so she's not wrong.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: I do leave usually when I like I'm like, all right, I gotta go to Wagner's, you know.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: You don't want your work checked.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: And I don't want to be in the way.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: I've watched this woman in her process.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: And it always looks good.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: I'm not I'm not denying it.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: I just feel like my lane is the mopping part of it.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: So I'll come back around when it's time for that.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: I'm not trying to leave you high and dry.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Play into your strengths.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: You got your earbuds in.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: What are we having?
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Well, you guys aren't we are we're having intimate conversations about life experiences.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: No, you're listening to the 90s while you're, you know, cleaning the kitchen.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: We're not talking here.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Just do what you gotta do.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: I have my earbuds in, you have your earbuds in.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Preferably at 10 a.m., not four in the afternoon.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: It's very silent.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: But either way, like
