- 0:02Speaker 1: NBA basketball fans, Welcome back to the NBA Playoff Banter Podcast.
- 0:07Speaker 1: He's Marshall, I'm Chris, and we're here to talk about
- 0:11Speaker 1: this series that is now three to two in favor
- 0:15Speaker 1: of OKC. They won back to back games Game four
- 0:19Speaker 1: in Game five, and they look to close it out
- 0:22Speaker 1: this Thursday in Indiana. And obviously, the first thing that
- 0:28Speaker 1: comes to mind is the health of Haliburton. They're talking
- 0:33Speaker 1: about a calf. It looked like he was very limited
- 0:36Speaker 1: during that game. You know, I don't know what to
- 0:40Speaker 1: Having an extra day. I suppose will help you get
- 0:42Speaker 1: two days off, but I just don't you know, if
- 0:45Speaker 1: they need to take an MRI, more than likely he's
- 0:49Speaker 1: gonna be in trouble.
- 0:50Speaker 2: But we will talk about Game.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Five, of course, just because it was last night. SGA
- 0:55Speaker 1: and especially j Dubb just step way up man. Jalen Williams.
- 0:59Speaker 1: He's last three games have been very impressive in throughout
- 1:02Speaker 1: the whole playoffs really.
- 1:05Speaker 2: And then we'll kind of dibble and dabble a little bit.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Uh with Game four, I thought it was really impressive
- 1:12Speaker 1: how OKAC one, even though they were three of sixteen
- 1:15Speaker 1: from three point land and that defense that they played
- 1:19Speaker 1: was pretty crazy, and we'll dabble with game three as.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Well, because shit, when it was two to one.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Speaking of defense, the defense and offense that Indiana played
- 1:30Speaker 1: in that fourth quarter was pretty impressive with that too,
- 1:33Speaker 1: So we'll dibble a little bit, like I said, with
- 1:35Speaker 1: game three and Game four with a little bit more
- 1:38Speaker 1: intense in depth review of last night's game, and then
- 1:42Speaker 1: you know what will happen in Game six at Indy,
- 1:45Speaker 1: we'll talk it through. If this is your first time
- 1:48Speaker 1: listening to the NBA Playoff Banter podcast, welcome. It is

- 2:44Speaker 1: which is eighty nine ninety nine a month that includes
- 2:48Speaker 1: over one hundred and sixty channels that's direct TV stream. Okay,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ahead and bring in my co host Marshall.
- 2:55Speaker 1: First and foremost, Marshall, how the hell are you doing
- 2:58Speaker 1: before we get into this Game five recap, which has
- 3:01Speaker 1: been a really fun series.
- 3:03Speaker 2: It's definitely lived.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Up to uh, you know some of the hype that
- 3:07Speaker 1: we talked about going in, and obviously you know that
- 3:10Speaker 1: the underdogs really showed up given the fact that they
- 3:14Speaker 1: were up to one not long ago.
- 3:16Speaker 3: I'm good man. I want to say a shout out
- 3:18Speaker 3: to Lane Kiffin.
- 3:19Speaker 4: We're getting close to college football season, so I got
- 3:21Speaker 4: to give a quote a ready sir, But besides.
- 3:25Speaker 3: That, moving on, I'll only I'll only say his name
- 3:30Speaker 3: one time.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Got three like usual side fly Man laid hey, I
- 3:36Speaker 4: think this series has done better than people expected. I
- 3:40Speaker 4: know you have like regular well, I would say we're
- 3:43Speaker 4: the top probably ten percentile sport fans for all the
- 3:45Speaker 4: sports you and I.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Love and the patch we have for it.
- 3:49Speaker 4: But I would say to a regular sports fan, this
- 3:51Speaker 4: series wasn't gig a whole lot of press. But I
- 3:54Speaker 4: would say that I would imagine the casual viewers falled
- 3:58Speaker 4: into the NBA is not gonna doabas so if they
- 4:00Speaker 4: have poor rays, like the league's going away. But I
- 4:03Speaker 4: think that this for the most part, Chris has been
- 4:05Speaker 4: a pretty fun series to watch.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Uh.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I do think they need to make an announcer change.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I know that one of the reason they couldn't like
- 4:14Speaker 4: the bringing Mangunny Jackson didn't work out, but just for
- 4:18Speaker 4: kind of a just a quick switch here, Like I'm
- 4:21Speaker 4: not a huge fan of the Doris Burg Richard Jeffson
- 4:24Speaker 4: bringing either.
- 4:25Speaker 3: I would like to see.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Someone just different, like it's too I don't know, Like
- 4:32Speaker 4: there's a lot of times like in sports I've grown up.
- 4:35Speaker 2: There's times that I remember to watching.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Sunday a Football when I was like in middle school
- 4:40Speaker 4: and like, god, those guys were so good. There's like
- 4:42Speaker 4: Doc Everertt from hockey who I love listening to, and
- 4:45Speaker 4: the each sport I have like announcers I listened to
- 4:47Speaker 4: it are like, man, even if the game sucks, I'll
- 4:50Speaker 4: listen to said person, and I don't feel that's quite
- 4:54Speaker 4: there in my opinion.
- 4:55Speaker 3: And I'm sure people love those and the shirts.
- 4:57Speaker 4: People that don't even with the pregame show, like my
- 5:00Speaker 4: mom last night we were talking, She's like, well, who's
- 5:01Speaker 4: on the pregam show.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Like well, Steven A. Smith and other people, And it's like,
- 5:05Speaker 3: I feel that they need to.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Kind of just twirk a little bit of who's who's
- 5:11Speaker 4: in the pregame shows, just to make it just different personalities.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Now get that's not I'm not ESPN boss, but I
- 5:18Speaker 4: feel they can switch up a little bit. Maybe ABC
- 5:20Speaker 4: will push that direction. I don't know, But it's not
- 5:23Speaker 4: that we've been having a great series by dislike the
- 5:26Speaker 4: announcers announcer.
- 5:27Speaker 5: Part, and it's it's given us more fun games talking
- 5:31Speaker 5: about what we expected. Well, you know that inside the
- 5:35Speaker 5: NBA is gonna be on ESPN, you know that, correct?
- 5:39Speaker 4: Yeah, Well at NBC is gonna be called a lot
- 5:41Speaker 4: of games next year too, So, I you know, I'm
- 5:44Speaker 4: just maybe maybe they'll switching people up.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I don't know, I'm hoping so, but well.
- 5:48Speaker 1: They're definitely gonna you know, they're definitely gonna switch up
- 5:51Speaker 1: that's for sure. But we'll see exactly which ones, you know,
- 5:56Speaker 1: sure end up where they do. They are gonna have
- 6:00Speaker 1: like tape stuff with Jordan did you hear that? And
- 6:03Speaker 1: oh so he's gonna give his take? Uh? And actually
- 6:07Speaker 1: a lot of Jordans fans who always argue for him
- 6:11Speaker 1: may not. It kind of sounds like they may not
- 6:14Speaker 1: like what he has to say because he's probably gonna
- 6:18Speaker 1: be like who gives his ship?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Like, get over it, I've been done for a while.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Let me be me. Let a guy like Lebron be Lebron,
- 6:27Speaker 2: and don't act like there's.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Gonna be a bunch of those coming up, like you know,
- 6:30Speaker 1: maybe not some mistake pressure on these guys.
- 6:34Speaker 2: The shit just kind of happens organically. But yeah, that'll
- 6:37Speaker 2: be interesting.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I do say like for the regular season and especially
- 6:41Speaker 1: the playoffs, for NBC to have it on free TV,
- 6:45Speaker 1: that's gonna be a boost no matter what, dude.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I do like the.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Presentation of TNC, and I do like I like I
- 6:55Speaker 1: like inside the NBA.
- 6:57Speaker 2: When they're just giving ship to each other.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I I do think that both the ESPN and T
- 7:03Speaker 1: and T at times make it about themselves too much.
- 7:07Speaker 1: That's right, they involved themselves.
- 7:10Speaker 2: You know, like Stephen A.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Smith was talking about what Haliburton answer. Haliburton answered a
- 7:16Speaker 1: question and it had something to do with him. He
- 7:19Speaker 1: didn't just start cocking off about Steven A.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Smith.
- 7:22Speaker 1: But he's up there and Shaq does this and Charles
- 7:25Speaker 1: does it, and it's funny when they're getting each other shit.
- 7:27Speaker 2: But sometimes they.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Make it about themselves and they just dump on players
- 7:33Speaker 1: where you're like, dude, like, first of all, Shaq, you
- 7:36Speaker 1: were out of shape in twenty twenty four, Like way
- 7:39Speaker 1: out of shape. If we want to go back and
- 7:41Speaker 1: watch the tape, we can watch your hass not playing defense.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Like sometimes I think, and I think it's not just
- 7:48Speaker 1: in basketball. I think overall the way people cover sports now,
- 7:52Speaker 1: it's just it's about them, and it's about some crazy
- 7:56Speaker 1: shit that you're gonna say, and you know it's gonna
- 7:58Speaker 1: go virol no matter if it's right or not, or
- 8:01Speaker 1: bullshit or not or whatever, and that it's kind of
- 8:04Speaker 1: like the world.
- 8:04Speaker 4: We live in.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Unfortunately, it kind of sucks. Yeah, but you know, it
- 8:10Speaker 2: is what it is.
- 8:11Speaker 1: There's still you know, quality people out there, but you know,
- 8:15Speaker 1: it's it's just less and less, even like the tnt
- 8:19Speaker 1: uh the game itself, the All Star game, they had
- 8:24Speaker 1: him picking their own teams.
- 8:26Speaker 2: It was just like, what, like, why is this about you? Guys?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Like I don't understand, And so many dudes on ESPN
- 8:34Speaker 2: are like that where it's just like are.
- 8:36Speaker 1: We covering the sport or are we just a personality
- 8:39Speaker 1: and that's it, you know, yeah, yeah, you know Smith
- 8:41Speaker 1: usually leads the way on that. But let's get off
- 8:45Speaker 1: of that ship. Let's get onto what we got last night.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Okay stee, okay see, started out pretty hot. They were
- 8:52Speaker 1: seven of nine from the field, forcing a time out.
- 8:57Speaker 1: You saw Sga getting to the rack v back door
- 9:00Speaker 1: pass or cut or driving to the bucket. He was
- 9:04Speaker 1: looking really good and and he was real sloppy about
- 9:09Speaker 1: the ball. Obviously that has to do with okay sees defense,
- 9:13Speaker 1: but overall.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I didn't I just thought they were a little sloppy.
- 9:16Speaker 1: They had seven to one for turnovers in the first quarter,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and we know that's a big thing following okay see,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you gotta take care of the ball. Mathern came in
- 9:27Speaker 1: and they had a nice rundown block and you know,
- 9:29Speaker 1: scored some points really quick.
- 9:31Speaker 2: But Wallace was like three for three fairly early in
- 9:35Speaker 2: this game, and early in this game in the second.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Okay, see, at the time is five to eight from three,
- 9:43Speaker 1: it's forty to twenty nine. And Haliburton, it is kind
- 9:49Speaker 1: of gimpy, you know, he's a little limpy. He went out,
- 9:52Speaker 1: then he came back in. He saw Turner was limping
- 9:55Speaker 1: a little bit too, I think from a collision. And
- 10:00Speaker 1: it seemed to me though in the second quarter, I'm
- 10:04Speaker 1: right looking at my notes and he just missing, you know,
- 10:08Speaker 1: open shots. And meanwhile, okay, see, much like the fourth
- 10:11Speaker 1: quarter just got on fire. They were like six to
- 10:15Speaker 1: nine from three and eleven of twelve from the free
- 10:18Speaker 1: throw line up at half fifty nine to forty five.
- 10:24Speaker 2: What were you thinking at that time?
- 10:26Speaker 1: Are you thinking, all right, well, the third quarter is
- 10:28Speaker 1: going to be pretty important here, that they better get
- 10:31Speaker 1: into this or did you kind of feel like this
- 10:34Speaker 1: game is looking kind of rough.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Obviously you can't count out in the end, and they
- 10:39Speaker 2: did end up catching up. But what were your thoughts
- 10:42Speaker 2: at half? And just in that first half?
- 10:46Speaker 3: Again, I better first half.
- 10:48Speaker 4: I think that's been their moo that they're a really
- 10:51Speaker 4: good old team. They are the better team in Vegas's mine,
- 10:55Speaker 4: and you see it because their spurts where they play defense,
- 10:58Speaker 4: that's like holy shit shit. Like I was texting my
- 11:02Speaker 4: my basketball coach, and I was like, I would love
- 11:04Speaker 4: to have seen this this Okay, see team play like
- 11:07Speaker 4: the first Warriors team and just see like you know,
- 11:10Speaker 4: because both those teams were like really good defensive their
- 11:14Speaker 4: old ways. I was like with bo get Clay and Igodala.
- 11:17Speaker 4: But even so, the thing that pressed me, but okay,
- 11:20Speaker 4: see is the.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Keep moving in and out of bad and good coverage.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Oh okay, all right, it's kind of low.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Right now, but I'll let you know when it's high
- 11:29Speaker 2: and then you can kind of sit there.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Okay, is that better? No, I can hear you.
- 11:33Speaker 1: It just it's just hanging on barely, that's all, is it? Okay,
- 11:39Speaker 1: it's better right now, You're all good. I could still
- 11:43Speaker 1: hear okay, right now, it's perfect.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Okay, all right, it's it's uh like that their defense
- 11:50Speaker 4: is just tremendous. Like I don't know if the last
- 11:53Speaker 4: team I've watched the NBA that has so many half
- 11:59Speaker 4: court I can't dribble the ball. Oh shit, turnovers, that's
- 12:03Speaker 4: like what happens in high school. And they do it
- 12:05Speaker 4: to like these pay like any team on a regular base,
- 12:08Speaker 4: which I've really never seen.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Like yeah, like that Warriors.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Seam I mentioned like Clague, all those guys were good,
- 12:16Speaker 4: but the Warriors never had any on ball turnomers.
- 12:19Speaker 3: They would just make bad shots and go on runs.
- 12:21Speaker 4: But like this, Okay, see, defense is seriously is just
- 12:23Speaker 4: like relentless, and that's stuff that I'm just not used
- 12:27Speaker 4: to ever seeing like it. Their defense is freaking insane
- 12:31Speaker 4: that you're that I'm referencing like what happens to my
- 12:34Speaker 4: high school kids. But these are NBA guys make NBA
- 12:38Speaker 4: guys look like they can't dribble like that's not normal.
- 12:45Speaker 2: It's kind of freezing up right now. I heard a
- 12:48Speaker 2: good chunk of it.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Because you're talking about defense and how just intense it is,
- 12:54Speaker 1: and but you're kind of breaking up in there.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Yeah, or it looks like I got what bar fire
- 13:04Speaker 3: these damn cell phones?
- 13:05Speaker 4: Uh yeah, I just they're they're the way they play defense.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Their bad bad defense is just phenomenal, Like it's I
- 13:13Speaker 4: don't know how they do it. It's just the way
- 13:16Speaker 4: they make somebody oddball turnovers. I just I don't think
- 13:19Speaker 4: that's been done often like they just they they they
- 13:23Speaker 4: they played defense different.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I've used to watch it as a fan.
- 13:26Speaker 1: It didn't improve. Now okay, it's back to being good.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So try to stay in that spot. But they may
- 13:33Speaker 1: who knows, they may just mess up. But yeah, I
- 13:36Speaker 1: was like, kind of like you're saying, like some of
- 13:39Speaker 1: its sloppiness on Indiana, but a lot of it's just
- 13:42Speaker 1: that pressure that they're bringing the whole time, and it
- 13:45Speaker 1: kind of turns you into like you're rushing because you
- 13:49Speaker 1: know or even when you take a shot you feel
- 13:51Speaker 1: like it's open, all of a sudden, they're right on you.
- 13:53Speaker 1: And we talked about that in the Minnesota in the
- 13:56Speaker 1: Denver series, how they can they they just react to
- 14:00Speaker 1: what's going on, and they have a good game plan.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Everybody sticks to it, and sometimes they'll go two guys
- 14:06Speaker 1: out there, but then they'll.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Be able to scramble right back to the shooter and it's.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Just like, all of a sudden, you're kind of rushed
- 14:12Speaker 1: and you don't feel like you're getting up a good shot.
- 14:14Speaker 4: But but that's your main point right there, is the
- 14:17Speaker 4: fact that as a team, because if OKC had one
- 14:22Speaker 4: shitty defender, they could not play the defense they play. Now,
- 14:25Speaker 4: I'm not saying all five guys are elite, but if
- 14:27Speaker 4: you had one of a week, wait, if you had
- 14:31Speaker 4: one and a half, like average defenders, you'd be screwed.
- 14:34Speaker 4: They could not play the way they play. But as
- 14:35Speaker 4: a team, they're nucleus. It's fucking impressive. It really is
- 14:39Speaker 4: just that the about a half court pick the ball up,
- 14:42Speaker 4: I lost my dribble?
- 14:43Speaker 3: Oh shit, what do I do? Turnover?
- 14:45Speaker 4: You really don't ever see an NBA because there's so
- 14:47Speaker 4: many dribbling like that. Is a tip of the cap
- 14:49Speaker 4: to okc's defense and the system they've created as a
- 14:53Speaker 4: defensive approach.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, And you know, look like they were in
- 14:59Speaker 1: cruise control the up double digits of pheromone. I mean
- 15:02Speaker 1: somewhere in the third quarter you had Jalen twenty six
- 15:05Speaker 1: points a nine to fifteen shooting, but McConnell had like
- 15:09Speaker 1: eleven well, I think he had like ten points in
- 15:13Speaker 1: the third or twelve points either driving or you know
- 15:17Speaker 1: and laying up or just driving to the spot. How
- 15:19Speaker 1: he'll get a little eight or ten foot jumper. And
- 15:23Speaker 1: he made a nice little run. And just in general,
- 15:25Speaker 1: they made a nice little run. The bench at the
- 15:27Speaker 1: time late third had thirty one points and TJ had
- 15:32Speaker 1: a really nice end one, and you know it was like, okay,
- 15:39Speaker 1: here they come, They're coming, They're coming back. You know,
- 15:41Speaker 1: they got it to eighty seven to seventy nine. Jalen
- 15:45Speaker 1: hit a tough shot to close that quarter, and Siakam
- 15:48Speaker 1: got going as well.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I think he hit like a three and it was
- 15:53Speaker 2: ninety two to eighty six with plenty you know early
- 15:57Speaker 2: on Siaka, you know, just he hit another three, got
- 16:02Speaker 2: into ninety five ninety three.
- 16:05Speaker 1: But right away, just like they did in the damn
- 16:08Speaker 1: you know the Timberwolves series, where you're you're two points
- 16:11Speaker 1: away and next thing you know, it's it's a three
- 16:14Speaker 1: point shot and it's a steal and it's a bucket,
- 16:17Speaker 1: and then it's a time out, and dort would picked
- 16:20Speaker 1: up the fourth fall, then he hit a rainbow three
- 16:23Speaker 1: and then jailing high off the glass. Like it just
- 16:26Speaker 1: they just didn't have enough answers and they just got
- 16:32Speaker 1: a lot of like like their studs obviously, you know,
- 16:36Speaker 1: jailing forty points thirty one for Alexander, thirteen to fourteen
- 16:41Speaker 1: from the line. But you know, also like Wiggins hit
- 16:46Speaker 1: four threes, Wallace hit three threes. Dort hit three threes.
- 16:51Speaker 1: It was just the turnovers early and late just kind
- 16:56Speaker 1: of caught up with them, and there was really it
- 16:58Speaker 1: felt like nothing they were gonna build to do. And
- 17:02Speaker 1: at the same time, you can see during this game,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I think it was the second quarter when Halliburton left
- 17:09Speaker 1: and then came back and you're like, man, I wonder
- 17:12Speaker 1: if he's okay, And then you could kind of tell
- 17:14Speaker 1: he was just super passive, didn't hit a field goal,
- 17:19Speaker 1: got going because he was able to get to the
- 17:21Speaker 1: free throw line.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But you know, hell of a game. They made it close.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Like I said, I think that had they knocked down
- 17:30Speaker 1: some earlier shots and been in the game and not
- 17:32Speaker 1: have to come back so much throughout the game, maybe
- 17:36Speaker 1: they would have done better down the stretch. But these
- 17:40Speaker 1: games four, in games five, it just it really looked like, okay,
- 17:45Speaker 1: see Halliburton or not Halliburton, because Haliburton was there for
- 17:49Speaker 1: game four obviously, it just felt like, I don't know,
- 17:55Speaker 1: like we'll go back to game four really quick too,
- 17:57Speaker 1: like in a second, because they had.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That fucking game like Indiana, Yeah, like that was their game, man.
- 18:05Speaker 1: But overall Game five, you know, okay, see just just
- 18:10Speaker 1: closed it out man, like they're they're just they're a
- 18:13Speaker 1: damn good team. And we were just talking about it
- 18:15Speaker 1: before we hit record, you know, and just in general,
- 18:19Speaker 1: h you mentioned earlier that you know it's gonna be
- 18:22Speaker 1: tough to keep all the players, but at least going
- 18:26Speaker 1: in the next year.
- 18:27Speaker 2: They are just so damn deep and everybody's on the
- 18:30Speaker 2: same page.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Man.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:34Speaker 4: It just like when they when they hit threes at home,
- 18:36Speaker 4: that team is really hard to be because you know
- 18:38Speaker 4: their defenses relentless, They're going to force turnovers, they're gonna
- 18:42Speaker 4: put shots up sga at Holbe is gonna play bear
- 18:45Speaker 4: out of the road.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Uh.
- 18:49Speaker 4: I didn't think the rest were a huge part of
- 18:51Speaker 4: last night. I think they just played really good basketball,
- 18:53Speaker 4: like for like like the five minutes stretch like to
- 18:55Speaker 4: it's the they were on a huge run they just
- 18:57Speaker 4: couldn't miss.
- 18:59Speaker 3: So you already have like a pretty well oiled machine
- 19:02Speaker 3: with Jayla.
- 19:02Speaker 4: Willis played his ass off and hard side making his
- 19:06Speaker 4: couple of buckets here and there. But if you got
- 19:09Speaker 4: their role guys or their wigs hitting threes, you're not
- 19:13Speaker 4: gonna beat that team.
- 19:14Speaker 3: You're just not. Ye, That's what happened.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Last night, like the Pacers made a belly comeback, but
- 19:19Speaker 4: whether whether threes are dropping and everyone's kind of a groove,
- 19:24Speaker 4: like dude, good luck, like the Pacers did it quit.
- 19:26Speaker 4: But that yeah, you're you're not gonna beat them where
- 19:29Speaker 4: they're win or hit threes. That's they're they're already too
- 19:32Speaker 4: much to deal with.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you know what's scary is they couldn't
- 19:37Speaker 1: beat them when they're three of sixteen either. Yeah, in
- 19:40Speaker 1: the game real quick going to game three, uh, Matthermin
- 19:45Speaker 1: was going crazy. That was a competitive game the whole time.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And okay, see at one point it was eighteen to
- 19:52Speaker 1: eleven with the turnovers. They had a bunch of turnovers
- 19:55Speaker 1: a game three and it was like twenty one to
- 19:57Speaker 1: ten for points off those turnovers. You know, hal Burton
- 20:05Speaker 1: had it going topping had these rebound dunks. They just
- 20:11Speaker 1: as a full team once again. They they just they
- 20:14Speaker 1: closed out game three and I got yeah in game
- 20:17Speaker 1: three when they're up two to one, man, you know,
- 20:21Speaker 1: you know we've actually seen Boston was up two to one.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Uh was Phoenix up to zip and then they lost.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Straight four straight?
- 20:31Speaker 1: Or was it two to one? And they lost four straight?
- 20:35Speaker 1: So I can't remember Phoenix was up to to zero
- 20:40Speaker 1: and that wasn't.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Were they or was it Phoenix verse?
- 20:43Speaker 1: Who?
- 20:45Speaker 5: Uh?
- 20:45Speaker 2: When they made the run to the was it Milwaukee? Oh,
- 20:51Speaker 2: Milwaukee beat them?
- 20:52Speaker 1: That wasn't that the matchup? Remember with Chris Paul bast
- 21:00Speaker 1: Ball what do you know got hurt in June?
- 21:02Speaker 2: They made the finals not long ago?
- 21:06Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, I can't remember. Obviously in twenty twenty one, okay.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Either way they were Uh, I know you remember the
- 21:12Speaker 1: Celtics one because it's your golden state.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but you know, sometimes you can get
- 21:18Speaker 2: lost in that two for one. What was your mind
- 21:20Speaker 2: state after Game three though?
- 21:23Speaker 1: When Boston or not Boston, but when Indies up and
- 21:26Speaker 1: you're thinking, wow, like did you kind of feel like, yeah,
- 21:30Speaker 1: it's not over.
- 21:31Speaker 2: They're not gonna win, They're not gonna go, you know,
- 21:33Speaker 2: win the next two right away.
- 21:35Speaker 1: But I got admit I didn't necessarily think they'd lose
- 21:37Speaker 1: the next two either.
- 21:39Speaker 3: You know. Yeah, that that game four was that really
- 21:45Speaker 3: was a hell of a basketball game. Uh. I don't
- 21:49Speaker 3: care what Doris Brooke says.
- 21:51Speaker 4: There's no rule NBA that says you're allowed to take
- 21:53Speaker 4: three steps to push them it off, like and that
- 21:55Speaker 4: was a huge play. But like I watched that play
- 21:57Speaker 4: live at SGA did just push off and he lost
- 22:01Speaker 4: the ball. He picked it up, he took three steps
- 22:03Speaker 4: hit a dumper, which one of the biggest shots in
- 22:05Speaker 4: the game. And then she comes out and says, well,
- 22:08Speaker 4: when you gather the ball, you get two steps. That's
- 22:12Speaker 4: news to me because in my world of coaching basketball,
- 22:16Speaker 4: to see in basketball, if if somebody got spice to
- 22:19Speaker 4: the ball, like he never lost it, but you're justifying
- 22:22Speaker 4: him taking one, two, three steps in front of the
- 22:25Speaker 4: ref It don't travel like you know, I don't that's
- 22:29Speaker 4: what it was. Places where it's like that was such
- 22:31Speaker 4: a huge shot at the gable, like, but the announcer
- 22:34Speaker 4: said with the gatherer lost two steps. I would like
- 22:38Speaker 4: to see that rule book printing because I didn't know
- 22:39Speaker 4: that if you fumble the ball, you know you really
- 22:42Speaker 4: lose it, you get two free steps.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Plus the third one for fun. I don't know.
- 22:48Speaker 4: But the only thing that like, and I I think
- 22:50Speaker 4: it's because like all my Wolves friends are like tired
- 22:53Speaker 4: of SGA because he's the pre throw birch. But I
- 22:56Speaker 4: will say, like he does shove a lot now he
- 22:59Speaker 4: does it good, he's quick with it, but the a
- 23:02Speaker 4: lount of times that he will shove someone off and
- 23:04Speaker 4: get space for a shot. You really should let that
- 23:08Speaker 4: shit happen, Like that's against the rules. I know he
- 23:10Speaker 4: kind of has mastered it, but still, how does he
- 23:13Speaker 4: do that every game of the rest is kind of
- 23:15Speaker 4: let it go, don't. I know, there's like the Star
- 23:17Speaker 4: treatment for NBA players that it's part of the game,
- 23:19Speaker 4: But like, dude, you're always shoved, shove, shove, and it's
- 23:22Speaker 4: not a full extension but still a quick blow pop.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Like, I'm really surprised that he gets with as much
- 23:28Speaker 3: as he does.
- 23:29Speaker 2: That's what's talking.
- 23:30Speaker 1: About Game three though not game four. Game three, how were.
- 23:34Speaker 2: You thinking after that? Did you have it in your
- 23:36Speaker 2: mind that the Pacers they might wrap this up game
- 23:40Speaker 2: six or something like that?
- 23:41Speaker 4: Sorry, oh my bad, Yeah, it froze out. Yes, I
- 23:45Speaker 4: thought very good about that. Yeah, that because that was
- 23:47Speaker 4: great Pacers defense where they were physical, and that's we're
- 23:51Speaker 4: called but sorry to loop this all together. Let's get
- 23:53Speaker 4: that was a tremendous example of t defense where SGA
- 23:56Speaker 4: was being played physical. There was not let's shove it.
- 23:59Speaker 4: If there was this back and forth. Hey, cool, that's fine,
- 24:01Speaker 4: let him play. Yeah, I don't think many people expected that.
- 24:05Speaker 4: We both did say on the podcast last week, Hey,
- 24:07Speaker 4: we both think it'll be two to two.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 24:10Speaker 4: The Pacers played dominant whole perform us the way they
- 24:13Speaker 4: did that was not expected whatsoever. So yes, that part
- 24:16Speaker 4: had me very surprised with how strong of a game
- 24:19Speaker 4: they played.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Yes, for sure.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it had me really thinking, like man, just like
- 24:25Speaker 1: that the Pacers, you know, and obviously I was thinking
- 24:28Speaker 1: selfishly with that plus nine ten MVP that I had,
- 24:33Speaker 1: you know before the series started. Yes, that was too much.
- 24:37Speaker 2: He just moved into a bad spot.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Okay, all right, okay, all right, got.
- 24:41Speaker 2: You, Okay, you're good right here. Well we'll see. But yeah,
- 24:44Speaker 2: to your point, in the fourth quarter, just in general,
- 24:49Speaker 2: but the fourth quarter.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Of Game four, I thought that, I mean, looking down
- 24:55Speaker 1: the stretch of that game, like Indiana was in a
- 24:59Speaker 1: good spot.
- 25:00Speaker 2: You know, we talked about if it's close, we we
- 25:03Speaker 2: you know, we generally believe that Indiana's gonna.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Close it out, and it was close in Game three,
- 25:09Speaker 1: they closed it out, and you're thinking all the while,
- 25:11Speaker 1: you know, there's there's less than four minutes left, Haliburton
- 25:16Speaker 1: got it going. He at the time, with like a
- 25:19Speaker 1: three fifty two left, they had a three point lead,
- 25:22Speaker 1: and uh he had eight points out of an eighteen
- 25:24Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter.
- 25:25Speaker 2: You're like, okay, that's coming.
- 25:27Speaker 1: But then that jumper, the little step back jumper, okay,
- 25:31Speaker 1: see took the lead and in that quarter at some
- 25:36Speaker 1: point it was twenty five to sixteen, and they went
- 25:39Speaker 1: on a nine to zero run to get up one
- 25:42Speaker 1: O eight one O three with twenty three seven or
- 25:45Speaker 1: twenty three seconds left. Uh, just the way they you know,
- 25:49Speaker 1: Mathroom got falled. It would have been a long shot,
- 25:53Speaker 1: but Mathroom got falled and he missed both of the
- 25:55Speaker 1: free throws. You know, I think SGA made five eight shots.
- 26:03Speaker 1: So to your point, you know, the push out thing,
- 26:07Speaker 1: it's like Jordan's one of the most iconic shot of
- 26:12Speaker 1: Jordan is him pushing Russell off.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Clear. Yeah, but people don't fucking have a problem with
- 26:20Speaker 2: that at all because it's Mike, you know.
- 26:22Speaker 1: But I mean it is clear as day because Russell
- 26:25Speaker 1: had caught up to his move and so he had
- 26:27Speaker 1: to create that thing. But what I look at the
- 26:30Speaker 1: SGA thing is I think he's almost like a wide
- 26:33Speaker 1: receiver where he lets them create contact and then at
- 26:37Speaker 1: that split second he's like oh clear, oh you know,
- 26:40Speaker 1: And that's why I think he keeps getting away with it.
- 26:44Speaker 1: But then again to your point, okay, see is and
- 26:48Speaker 1: we talked about this before, is their handsy as fuck?
- 26:51Speaker 2: Right? Yeah?
- 26:52Speaker 1: So I think that they're handsy like that to the
- 26:55Speaker 1: point where you can't call it all the time. Even
- 26:58Speaker 1: if you're calling a tight game, you still can't call
- 27:00Speaker 1: it all the time. So we're just gonna that that's
- 27:03Speaker 1: the problem. It's like, if you're gonna let him do that,
- 27:06Speaker 1: then you gotta let other stuff slide then too. That's
- 27:10Speaker 1: kind of where it is. It's like, because some of
- 27:12Speaker 1: those SGA is clearly pushing off a step it back
- 27:15Speaker 1: and get in space. But some of it is the
- 27:18Speaker 1: I guess you could say the defender like a cornerback,
- 27:23Speaker 1: you know, put his hands on him a little bit,
- 27:25Speaker 1: and then he just cleared space.
- 27:27Speaker 3: You know.
- 27:27Speaker 2: So I just wish it would be more consistent.
- 27:30Speaker 1: That's and I understand basketball the angles, you can't see everything.
- 27:35Speaker 1: I'm not you're not gonna call a perfect game, but
- 27:38Speaker 1: I do wish that it would just like either you
- 27:40Speaker 1: let him play for the most part, or you don't
- 27:43Speaker 1: you know, don't do this in between, because then it
- 27:45Speaker 1: looks like, well you just let him push, you know.
- 27:48Speaker 2: But yet on the other side, you called that fall.
- 27:50Speaker 1: So but he he's great at what he does. There
- 27:54Speaker 1: are just players in the league, you know, every generation
- 27:57Speaker 1: has multiple players that just find the way.
- 28:01Speaker 2: You know, I don't mind, Like if someone's.
- 28:03Speaker 3: In your space and you just clear you know, yeah,
- 28:07Speaker 3: that's on you.
- 28:08Speaker 2: You know, too bad. You got to have your mind ready,
- 28:10Speaker 2: you know.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Or if someone has a like if they want to
- 28:14Speaker 1: get in the bonus, they'll just do that, and that's
- 28:17Speaker 1: smart play. Chris Paul does that shit. Even D'Angel Russell
- 28:20Speaker 1: will do that. So that type of stuff I think
- 28:23Speaker 1: is strategic and all that. But yeah, the whole both ways,
- 28:27Speaker 1: you gotta you gotta call.
- 28:28Speaker 2: It both ways. And uh, didn't people get mad?
- 28:31Speaker 1: You know? And and and also he just he falls
- 28:34Speaker 1: a lot on the ground and it's just like, dude,
- 28:37Speaker 1: there's no way they hit you that hard. You're you're
- 28:39Speaker 1: six six, dude, You're not weak, you know what I mean.
- 28:42Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't know, some guys just mastered that,
- 28:46Speaker 1: and then other guys they can't do it like aunt
- 28:48Speaker 1: can't he can't.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Draw that same contact. He just he's just not built
- 28:54Speaker 2: like that. You know, I don't know what it is.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Is not even flopping, but just in general he actually
- 28:59Speaker 1: goes away from the guy to try to make the shot.
- 29:02Speaker 1: But there are some times and actually Jefferson said it
- 29:06Speaker 1: in that moment where SGS SGA got up and I
- 29:11Speaker 1: think it was then hard. He could have just he
- 29:14Speaker 1: could have went like that and you know, took the shot.
- 29:16Speaker 1: It would have been three point play, yeah, three point play,
- 29:19Speaker 1: but three you know, but he didn't do it.
- 29:21Speaker 2: And it's like, no, that that's where you got, you know.
- 29:23Speaker 1: So it's somewhere in between a really smart strategy heads
- 29:27Speaker 1: he played.
- 29:28Speaker 2: But also you know, call it both ways, like I
- 29:31Speaker 2: just or don't call it, you know, whichever, you know.
- 29:34Speaker 4: I yeah, I agree, And he has mastered the craft
- 29:37Speaker 4: of get you look, which to his credit that that's
- 29:40Speaker 4: a hard percent fair. It's just it's also yeah, yeah,
- 29:45Speaker 4: it is, yeah.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Because because there's that you know, the NBA logo, there's
- 29:51Speaker 1: that did you ever show that or that ever test
- 29:53Speaker 1: that NBA logo of SGA. It's like him sideways like flailing,
- 30:01Speaker 1: but you know, he's just been steady pretty much every game,
- 30:05Speaker 1: whether he gets to the free throw or not. But
- 30:08Speaker 1: these last three, dude, like Jada has just really solidified himself.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Will be forty points last night, I think it was
- 30:17Speaker 1: twenty six, twenty seven or twenty five twenty six, forty, Like,
- 30:21Speaker 1: you know, a lot in the other guys have been solid.
- 30:25Speaker 1: They've gotten you know, whether it's Caruso or they they've gotten.
- 30:29Speaker 1: I went over how many three point shot? You know,
- 30:31Speaker 1: so this dude hit three, the other dude at four.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Like they've just gotten what they need off the bench,
- 30:37Speaker 1: playing a really good bench team, right even when they
- 30:40Speaker 1: they lost the bench.
- 30:41Speaker 2: But you wouldn't even know it really, you know, but
- 30:45Speaker 2: they just I.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Don't know, man, they just they just those two guys
- 30:50Speaker 1: have solidified themself.
- 30:54Speaker 2: And that was the thing going in this year.
- 30:57Speaker 1: You know, the supporting cast, you know, the big three
- 31:01Speaker 1: in the supporting cast. Will the number two and number
- 31:04Speaker 1: three show up like they needed to last year?
- 31:07Speaker 2: They didn't?
- 31:07Speaker 1: This year they have. And yeah it's scary, man, because
- 31:11Speaker 1: they're they're young, and they're just gonna get better, like.
- 31:16Speaker 2: You know, so we'll see how that goes.
- 31:19Speaker 1: But you know, I don't know, man, they're they're damn
- 31:21Speaker 1: good dude.
- 31:24Speaker 4: It's say with their coach too, Like their coach is
- 31:26Speaker 4: probably taking a couple l's this year that he should
- 31:28Speaker 4: have and I'm sure they're gonna around, especially against weds
- 31:30Speaker 4: Woods Rig But he's only a girls coach too, Like
- 31:33Speaker 4: I think for years they got lucky like Kerr. Kerr
- 31:37Speaker 4: was kind of like lucky to endorse TV Dick because
- 31:39Speaker 4: he did have a lot of experiences. He probably you know,
- 31:41Speaker 4: he's made his calls. But like coaches like Pop eight,
- 31:44Speaker 4: like Carlisle, he he's probably the reason why the Pacers
- 31:48Speaker 4: are where they're at, Like he's a great fucking coach,
- 31:50Speaker 4: like you know, so how that Daniel's only got a
- 31:53Speaker 4: lord more because he had the the slip up game
- 31:56Speaker 4: what against Denverard, which people give him some crap for
- 31:59Speaker 4: now he's had big here, but you gotta figure it
- 32:02Speaker 4: next year as well, because you know, everyone like speaking
- 32:04Speaker 4: the Timberwolves, which you and my friends love, like people
- 32:07Speaker 4: love Fitch as a coach, like and he's not gonna
- 32:09Speaker 4: get better. You Also, it's really fair to mention Dad
- 32:11Speaker 4: at all, like he's a pretty like you know, young coach,
- 32:13Speaker 4: but he'll get better too, and coach he does matter.
- 32:16Speaker 4: I know it's not like somebody we talked about a lot,
- 32:18Speaker 4: but like sp I love that guy. Spots has made
- 32:21Speaker 4: a lot of teams like you also, that's the other
- 32:23Speaker 4: part of the team where they're growing as a team
- 32:26Speaker 4: and they have a young coach growing with him too,
- 32:27Speaker 4: which is only Goetta unfortunately make the better for the
- 32:29Speaker 4: rest of the league.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and then like we've said this whole process and
- 32:33Speaker 1: we end up saying it a lot anyway, Uh, with
- 32:37Speaker 1: the NBA show, it's just like every every team has
- 32:40Speaker 1: a different stage that it has to go through.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Times it only takes two years, and it kind of
- 32:46Speaker 1: like three years really because lot you know, two years
- 32:49Speaker 1: ago they were in the plan and actually the the
- 32:55Speaker 1: the they played, uh they played Minnesota, that's your Denver
- 32:59Speaker 1: one because we played him in the first round. And
- 33:03Speaker 1: and then last year they're in the number one seed,
- 33:06Speaker 1: they end up getting beat and then now they come
- 33:08Speaker 1: back and yeah, they are growing, dude, they have a lot.
- 33:13Speaker 1: It's funny because even like you said, like so, they
- 33:16Speaker 1: they've had multiple times where they lose Game one, they
- 33:20Speaker 1: get their ass kicked and it's a two to one
- 33:22Speaker 1: series and it's a tight game.
- 33:23Speaker 2: They end up closing that out at on the road
- 33:26Speaker 2: at Minnesota.
- 33:27Speaker 1: You know, so they've really and in this series, they're
- 33:30Speaker 1: down two to one, they lose their you know, they
- 33:32Speaker 1: lose the first fucking game, you know, and you're like, oh, dude,
- 33:36Speaker 1: this fuck, fuck this Haliburton guy. Who the hell is
- 33:39Speaker 1: this guy? You know, like, but yet they didn't blink.
- 33:42Speaker 1: They came right back, and now they've served in the
- 33:45Speaker 1: end of their first two losses since.
- 33:47Speaker 2: March in a row.
- 33:48Speaker 3: You know.
- 33:51Speaker 1: So yeah, and to your point, Finch even admitted, you know,
- 33:54Speaker 1: because he has this free flowing very uh, it gives
- 33:59Speaker 1: the play.
- 34:00Speaker 2: A whole lot. They don't really have much of a leash.
- 34:03Speaker 1: And he even said, I got to tighten that shit
- 34:05Speaker 1: up at times in the game, and we have to
- 34:07Speaker 1: go to play calling, we have to be more focused,
- 34:09Speaker 1: and we have to really.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Kind of not spoon feed it.
- 34:14Speaker 1: But just obviously we're failing in some of those scenarios.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So instead of doing the free flow, I gotta make
- 34:21Speaker 1: some tweaks and so hopefully that happens. Just from a
- 34:25Speaker 1: Timberl's perspective, but yeah, you're right, it's a you know,
- 34:30Speaker 1: heading into Thursday's game. We're both on the same page
- 34:34Speaker 1: where if Halliburton was healthy or if randomly he's just
- 34:40Speaker 1: they the MRI comes back negative and they've shoot some
- 34:44Speaker 1: quarter zone and he feels okay. You know, who knows
- 34:47Speaker 1: that could happen.
- 34:48Speaker 3: You never know.
- 34:49Speaker 2: But knowing what we know now and knowing how.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Seeing him on that court, it's just tough. It's difficult
- 34:58Speaker 1: to pick the Pacers. They'd have to go nuts. Now
- 35:00Speaker 1: they have a deep team to do it, but they
- 35:03Speaker 1: would have to hit like twenty threes.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Dude, you know, yeah, but I'd be saying thing, let's
- 35:08Speaker 4: say SGA has food poison, he's out for tomorrow, Okay,
- 35:11Speaker 4: Like okay, well I'd be picking the Pacers of a
- 35:14Speaker 4: heartbeat of SGA was out. So it's just when your catalysts,
- 35:18Speaker 4: like your quarterback on your football team is out, your backup.
- 35:20Speaker 4: And we went through some Minneapolis Viking er minsloona Viiking back,
- 35:25Speaker 4: the quarterback playoff games or the count you know, like
- 35:27Speaker 4: when you with the Peters out. There's so many intangibles
- 35:30Speaker 4: like if was out, I still might bet idiot or
- 35:34Speaker 4: Miles Turner shirt. But Halliburton, who handles the ball pretty
- 35:38Speaker 4: well as you can versus that great half court defense. Yeah,
- 35:42Speaker 4: him out, or if he pulls Aaron Gordon and plays
- 35:45Speaker 4: at sixty percent, you know versus Okay, see, like Eric
- 35:49Speaker 4: Gordon tried that, it didn't go so well for him either.
- 35:51Speaker 4: You know, I don't know, because if Halbertson does play
- 35:54Speaker 4: baked up, it's gonna be picking.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Roll all day.
- 35:56Speaker 4: They're gonna expose it defensively to the point where he's
- 35:58Speaker 4: he have to come off the court at that point,
- 36:01Speaker 4: are you benfigure team?
- 36:02Speaker 3: Not really?
- 36:02Speaker 4: I know you want to be out there for your boys,
- 36:03Speaker 4: but if you're giving up defensive lapses consistently, Carlisle's not suit.
- 36:09Speaker 3: But he's gonna have to pull them out.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, that's the thing.
- 36:12Speaker 1: And the fact that they pulled him out before the
- 36:15Speaker 1: second quarter ended and then they brought him back like
- 36:17Speaker 1: I mentioned earlier, but he was like, what the.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Hell would he be doing out right now? Anyway? Like,
- 36:22Speaker 2: we need to keep this game as close as you can,
- 36:24Speaker 2: you know. So that was kind of a tell right there.
- 36:27Speaker 1: So so in the end, you think it's probably gonna
- 36:31Speaker 1: be a done deal. Four to two, pretty damn good
- 36:34Speaker 1: series either way, though.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's been a great series, but we
- 36:37Speaker 4: both expected hopefully they're at raise whatever we're fans that'd
- 36:41Speaker 4: be's goed away. He's been a very fun watch, good
- 36:45Speaker 4: for small market stories. We could have repeat next year.
- 36:47Speaker 4: These teams are both pretty well built out. All the
- 36:50Speaker 4: Pacers cree agency as much as the Okay see, but
- 36:54Speaker 4: they're still pretty good.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Yeah, they're both gonna have a lot of their team back,
- 36:58Speaker 2: that's for sure.
- 36:58Speaker 4: They really the Pacers. Lily' a true high, high level superstar.
- 37:02Speaker 4: It's gonna be like I want fifty MILLI you know,
- 37:04Speaker 4: maybe Halburton's gonna a little bit, say with Seaka, but
- 37:07Speaker 4: these are two teams we're gonna be around again. So yeah,
- 37:10Speaker 4: I do think it is sad that Halbert's hurt. But again,
- 37:13Speaker 4: since we've started this podcast, almost every single year the
- 37:17Speaker 4: championship has been decided. Like if we're doing a pie chart,
- 37:20Speaker 4: about thirty three percent of the pie charts like due
- 37:22Speaker 4: to injuries of a key player, whether benefit or You're
- 37:33Speaker 4: all right, you're frozen. I can't hear you right now,
- 37:35Speaker 4: but don't hang injuries. It's part of basketball. But I
- 37:37Speaker 4: don't feel you that we're gonna win the Pacers. I
- 37:40Speaker 4: think they would have won if Halburton was healthy. But yeah,
- 37:44Speaker 4: I'm saying, okay, see, maybe they get a little bit
- 37:47Speaker 4: of a punch from Pacers. They're not gonna quit, but
- 37:49Speaker 4: I think okay, see Woods by double digits in game six.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and when they're in these advances, you know, when
- 37:55Speaker 1: they have, when they're in this predicament, this opportunity to
- 37:59Speaker 1: do it, they usually jump on it. And it would
- 38:01Speaker 1: be crazy to beat them three straight times. I wouldn't
- 38:04Speaker 1: have thought either of these teams could beat each other
- 38:07Speaker 1: three times. But you know, yeah, if you see Haliburton
- 38:12Speaker 1: kind of just camping around, that's not gonna be good.
- 38:14Speaker 1: So if it does go to game seven, we'll probably
- 38:19Speaker 1: do a Monday show because obviously, yeah, Thursday and then
- 38:24Speaker 1: Sunday would be the game. So what we'll come back Monday.
- 38:28Speaker 1: If not, we'll just kind of play it by ear
- 38:33Speaker 1: with the free agency stuff, and it might be a
- 38:35Speaker 1: Draft night trade because the way it's gonna work, it's
- 38:39Speaker 1: like Brooklyn has money. Other teams can maneuver. But for
- 38:43Speaker 1: the most part, if you're talking about someone making forty
- 38:46Speaker 1: five fifty to fifty five sixty, if you're talking about
- 38:48Speaker 1: a big contract, shit, even if you're talking about a
- 38:52Speaker 1: twenty five to thirty million player, maybe like a Randall
- 38:57Speaker 1: or nas Reed, you know, in that realm, like you're
- 39:01Speaker 1: gonna have to trade them more likely if they want
- 39:03Speaker 1: to sign someplace because people just don't have the money
- 39:06Speaker 1: this year. So it does sound like whether it's we
- 39:12Speaker 1: know Durant's getting traded, it's just a matter who. But
- 39:15Speaker 1: Yannis is still potentially out there to get traded maybe too.
- 39:19Speaker 1: So we're gonna kind of play it by year.
- 39:22Speaker 2: It won't be the normal.
- 39:24Speaker 1: You know, they're gonna wine and dine five different teams
- 39:27Speaker 1: and all that because people just don't have the money.
- 39:29Speaker 1: So it's it's you know, it's gonna be signing trade.
- 39:32Speaker 1: And I wouldn't doubt if the Timberwolves is involved somewhere.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Maybe not the KD maybe well, I don't think gyannest.
- 39:38Speaker 1: I think the thing about the Timberwlves is they just
- 39:41Speaker 1: don't have enough draft picks to throw in. We probably
- 39:47Speaker 1: have the most ready to win right now players we
- 39:52Speaker 1: can give to you you know, yeah, but are they
- 39:54Speaker 1: looking for a combination of picks ready and young? You know,
- 39:59Speaker 1: that's that's probab where we lose out but it does
- 40:03Speaker 1: sound like, you know, the sign and trade is gonna
- 40:06Speaker 1: be a big thing. So it might be mid July.
- 40:08Speaker 1: It could be you know, Duran could get moved Draft night.
- 40:13Speaker 1: You know who knows the way they talk about it,
- 40:15Speaker 1: it keeps changing. So we'll just kind of play it
- 40:17Speaker 1: by ear as far as that goes. But like I said,
- 40:20Speaker 1: if it goes game seven, well we'll have a show Monday. Otherwise,
- 40:25Speaker 1: you know, kind of stick around with us. We'll do uh,
- 40:29Speaker 1: you know, give our thoughts and break down some of
- 40:31Speaker 1: the big trades or moves when it comes to free agency.
- 40:35Speaker 2: And all that stuff.
- 40:37Speaker 4: Man, August thirtieth, there's like that's week zero slash week one.
- 40:41Speaker 4: There's like five great cult football games. So we'll be
- 40:44Speaker 4: back to before. You don't because college football this this
- 40:47Speaker 4: week one is gonna be off the rails, so and
- 40:51Speaker 4: I know it. Enjoy the weather, get outside, play some golf.
- 40:53Speaker 4: The boys are out.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Have good eight. Peace,
