- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, what's up, Browns fans?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to another episode of the Dogs Podcast, Josh, all your host today on Tuesday.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_01]: We are just like what?
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: 10 days away.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: You ever take nine days here from the NFL draft.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: Finally, I know you guys are probably like me getting a little sick and tired of just speculating.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: nonstop round the clock 24 seven what in the world is this team going to do next Thursday night everybody and their brothers got their opinion obviously I say that yet I have mine as we all know on what the browns will do what the browns should do could do might do you name it it's been discussed so we've only got nine days left to worry about it
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: And then we will finally have a new crop of browns, rookies to talk about, discuss, breakdown, project, and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: So it's almost here, guys.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: Just bear with us, bear with the community.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: The podcaster's content creators, the media at large.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: It is a long haul here.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: It sure has been to get to the draft, especially considering.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody knows what the hell the browns are going to do, and I think this is intentional.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think the smoke screens and misdirections and everything have been put out there by the Browns by Andrew Barry and the front office and the staff, and they've done a good job at that.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: I got to lend credit to them.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody knows what they're going to do.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: I was a Tom Pellacero was on broadcast the other day saying that the Browns could potentially trade up in the draft, and I'm like, up.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: up.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: Who in God's name are we trading up for?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: There ain't nobody in this draft to trade up for to give up more assets to go get.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: that made no sense to me.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: But there you go.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: There you have a, one of the leading, whatever names out there in the NFL connected inside or universe saying, hey, the Browns could trade up.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: So we've got people thinking we're going to do anything.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: Trade back, trade up, take, take, take, freeling, take, proctor, take Simpson.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: It is insane.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that is all by intention.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: and seeing reports now that pretty much every team in the top five after the jets.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: So what would that be?
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: The Cardinals, the Titans, the Giants, the Browns, and even the Commanders after us.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: And was it the Saints too, maybe?
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe a lot of these top 10 teams looking to trade back.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: stock up, capital either later on in this draft or next year, and the problem with that then becomes, well, if you've got five or six teams looking to trade back in this draft, there aren't five or six teams looking to trade up.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: So the Browns now have competition with these other teams around them looking to trade back.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, say hypothetically, it's a David Bailey situation where he's the guy, he's the edge rusher that falls through the top five.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: or starts to tumble through the top five.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say we're at four, Tennessee, and the cowboys decide that's where they wanna move up to.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: To get their eddressure, if the rumors are true and that's what Dallas is looking to do, the Browns don't have a trade-back partner we're picking it six, most likely.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: So there are all kinds of scenarios and things to be watching for on-draft.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be exciting, obviously.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: So that's next Thursday night.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: I've been saying it and I'm gonna keep saying it.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: Make sure you guys come hang out with us on our annual.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: We do it every year.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: First round, draft, live coverage.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it was not always the first round when the Browns did not have a first round pick.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: We were doing the second round night, too.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll tell you what, that's a.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's a marathon itself right there, night two, because that's rounds two and three.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: So there is a lot of coverage to do night two, but night one is the most exciting one, obviously it's the first round.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: So we will be there on YouTube from the studio.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: Me, Blake, Justin and Kenny Mack come into you guys live it.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: 745 PM.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: Next, there's an 8 April, 23rd, like I said, make sure you guys tune in to that.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: And before I get into some content,
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: here today.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not just going to spiral and rant about the draft.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: I do have some specific things to talk about.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the main focus of the episode today will be the draft.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to talk about this Browns film breakdown article.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: And the reason I'm going through a lot of Brown's film breakdown stuff is because you guys know we've had Jake Burns on the show, he's a good friend of the show, I've worked with Jake on some projects and things around the Brown's content creation and I respect his opinions, I respect his knowledge and all the work that he puts in on the film breakdowns side of things.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: So I got Brad Ward's article that's who he works with over there, Brown's film breakdown.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: Talking about some of the stuff Jake has gone through the film on and it's things they think they know about the browns heading into the draft reports rumors buzz around players all that kind of stuff.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: I want to hit the main points of this and then I want to talk a little bit about Kate and Proctor.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: A guy that has been, again, another smoke screen about, you know, the brown's going to take this guy at six.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: They really like him.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: Y'all do y'all to.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll talk about that a little bit.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Got some voicemails, got some messages as always.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: Again, if you want to get those on the show, the dogs podcast.com and go to jointhedogs.com.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to be part of our
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: Discord community hang out with everybody in the dog pack, sync it up with a picture on page.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good way to help support the show.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: You can access, like I said, to the Discord, the entire community, Discord, dog pack.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: Live episodes that we do, usually once a week in there, access to the, you know, me, Blake, Justin Kenny.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: We're in there chatting it up all the time.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't been as much recently.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: I've had a lot of stuff going on here with work with the show, with the content creation, all that stuff.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: But I love that community.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great place to be.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: As soon as the draft is over, we're rolling right into May and May goes right into June and that's when fancy football registration opens up.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: So if you want to get in and register for our fantasy football leagues, when they first open up, that will happen starting on June 1.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: So that's join the dogs dot com.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I think the first thing I want to do before I go into this browns film breakdown is let's just play this voice mail.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: I got one here from our boy Kenny Mac.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yo guys, it is Kenny Mac and the guess what we are at day 100 of the 120 day reset and we're in nine days till the draft.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_03]: So that means there's two days left for guys to get their protease in and their private workouts.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_03]: Because it's going to be that as of Thursday, it's going to be that quiet period, so, you know, teams can't contact other players for seven days before the draft, but I mean, I think things are getting a little silly, and they know it's that silly season, so nobody on anything that talked about, but let's.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_03]: hold the bronze to what they said.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think the main objective of what they're trying to get and this reset was a total roster reconstruction just that the offense.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_03]: And if you take a look at the major holes, I've said it over and over again.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_03]: There's a gaping when a left tackle.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_03]: And then all our receivers have PFF grades under 50 other than Corley.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_03]: And he's not going to be a major player, but he's definitely going to get some snaps.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_03]: To take up pump the brakes on the silly season stuff and the defense and let's draft some offense and get this same leg guys One thing I can tell you though The reason for a lot of this silliness is I don't think anybody has an idea what the Browns are gonna do.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: This draft.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go brownies
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, so Kenny was just kind of going right into what I was saying earlier, but he's really got a clear shot of an idea of what this team is about to do in the draft.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: I saw some people posting on social media this morning, so I went in and made one myself about, you know, the last time the Browns took a wide receiver in the first round.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: It was Cory Coleman.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: He said, yeah, the last time the Browns took an offensive tack on the first round.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: It was Jed Wills.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, you can go back in history and point at pretty much any first round pick, the rounds have made in the last 30 years, and it's probably not gone very well for us.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: We don't draft well.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, it is a historical fact.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: We do not draft well.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: Andrew Barry does not draft well.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: wide receiver, offensive line, two positions that he has struggled with, he's got a bad track record of drafting those positions over the last six years, is what it is.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you got to look at it for what it presents and that's how it looks.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: The first thing moving over to this Browns film break down article, if picking at number six, they say it should be carnal tape.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: So according to Jordan Reeves sources across the league have been split on what the Browns will ultimately do and that is a sign that this decision from the Browns point of view remains very fluid deep into the process.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: So again, they make a point here that I feel like I've made a few times on the podcast.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: They say, if the Browns believe the receiver class thins out before number 24, then taking a wide receiver early becomes more logical.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: If the concern is tackle depth, that would shift the priority with names like Fano and Monroe Freeling tied to their evaluation process through leak sources cited by read the latest
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: that is somebody I will talk about here in a little bit.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: So Brad wrote this Brad Ward wrote this paragraph here about Jake Burns says Jake has done an unbelievable job providing film breakdowns on each of the tackle prospects in play at six and the more that Brown's film breakdown digs into these guys he says the less sure I am about any of them at such a premium pick in the draft talking about all the tackles.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: This is the point I've been trying to make too.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: He says it's unfortunate that there is no obvious choice here at such a critical position of need for the Browns, but that's the reality of this draft.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: If forced to make a tackle here and all of them were available, I would have to go with Francis Maui Noah or Spencer Fano.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: And then figure out the right side left side dilemma once you get that player in the building.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: He says Monroe Freeling is too much of a projection at six overall.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: Now maybe if they move back.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: But the consensus draft board has him at least going 17th overall, y'all who is the only outlet that has him in the top 10.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: The rumblings of Caitlyn Proctor at 6 are scary to say the least, and I would not be comfortable taking a player with such a high variance of outcomes.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: He goes on here and he says, ultimately, if the Browns keep their pick at six, Cardinal Tate is the strongest choice.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: He meets a critical need and justifies the investment unless they work out a trade to move back.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: Tate at six is clearly the most justifiable move based on everything we know.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, it's really not even close at this point.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we're talking Brown's film breakdown crew.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: They do their work differently obviously than a lot of other people.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: They specialize in the tape breakdown and they're take away from what they do from all their work and they bust their asses over their trust me.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: None of these tackle prospects are in their opinion worthy of going at six.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: The two that would be if you had to take a tackle, like they said, Francis Malinoa, who now has a, I don't know if this is just stuff coming out now.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think teams probably knew about the back injury ahead of time, but he's getting things reevaluated and I'm starting to see reports that at some point in his career, whether that's this year next year or 10 years down the road, Francis Malinoa will most likely need back surgery.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's a big risk to be taken now in the top five top 10.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, maybe Maui Noah ends up being on the board at six and does that injury or risk of, you know, worsening the injury down the road, move him down the border off the board for some of these teams.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Spencer Fano, he might be the best offensive lineman in this class, but he might not be the best offensive tackle in this class.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: He might be a guard.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody knows where he's going to end up playing.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like they said, there's no locked and loaded surefire tackle prospects in this class, especially on the left side.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: At six, and based on their tape evaluation, everything else, Caronel Tate is the clear and obvious choice.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: So why do I present that obviously?
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: Because I want Caronel Tate at six as well.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's my guy, that's, that is the guy I've always wanted.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: and after all of my research, all of my prospect evaluation and everything I've done this entire draft season, which has been a ton.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I have so much prospect fatigue.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: But I love it.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm still doing it.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm putting together my final mock draft scenario episode for you guys probably come out sometime over the weekend and that would be the last one I do before the draft, but when I say prospect fatigue, it's just that there's so much information out there on all these guys.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_01]: And there's only so many different.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, outcomes you can generate in your mind on these things.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's a lot, but Carnotate remains my pick at six.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: So they go on here and they're talking about examining all aspects of a potential trade back.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: So obviously the Browns have made it very well known.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: We are open for business.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: Pick six is on the table.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody, please come and make us an offer.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: So, according to Jordan Schultz, the tradeback idea driven by a strong positional depth on defense, especially at the edge, cornerback and linebackers, as well as a talented wide receiver group on offense.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: So, he says at the same time, later rounds are viewed as thinner, which would push teams to be prioritizing the acquisition of additional day two and day three picks.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: So, moving on here, I'm just kind of skimming through the article to see what I really want to point out.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: Most of the noise about a potential team making this kind of move seems to point to the Dallas Cowboys, which is why we keep going back to them and I've said but this before and I'll say to get it does make sense.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: It does make sense.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: They've been linked to trade ups with as high as three to the cardinals to try to go up and get David Bailey and I don't think that's
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: if they are dead set on getting one of the top edge rusher's and you know say it's rvl res goes to the jets well then they could very easily trade up to three because I think the cardinals are open for business as well move up to three take David Bailey and then the Browns are probably sticking at six unless a guy like Jeremiah love is there at six and a team behind them wants to move up and take him there's all kinds of scenarios that
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: logical one is the Cowboys moving up.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: So this one, they say one specific scenario that is gaining traction comes from Matt Miller, who I believe is ESPN.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: They say Miller reports that while Cleveland continues to be linked to a wider seaver with Cardinal Tate, most frequently mentioned, there is also belief.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: Around the league that the Browns could trade out a number six, he specifically notes a team like Dallas, but the Cowboys looking to move up for a pass russure, they hold obviously takes 12 and 20, that opens up a number of scenarios.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: If their real weight is their desire to come up and get an edge russure.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: So Brad Ward though, points out a potential issue here with a tradeback scenario with the Cowboys.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: So again, a lot of people want to mock that the Browns are going to trade back and get 12 and 20,
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: And they could, or they could opt to say, well, Dallas, listen, we'd like to have either 12 or 21 of your first romp picks here this year, but we want one of your first romp picks next year, because remember the cowboys, you got to remember the situation here.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: So the cowboys have two first romp picks in 2027.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: They only own, currently, one of them.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: They already traded one of those 2027 first romp picks to the jets for quitted Williams, the problem with that.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: And the problem why you cannot get a 2027 first round pick from the Cowboys.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: So the agreement on that trade was that the jets would get, they would receive the higher, whichever of those first round picks for the Cowboys ends up being the higher one.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's the pick the jets will get.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: So the Cowboys own their own pick in 27 and they own the Packers from the Micah Parsons trade.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: whichever one of those picks ends up being higher in the draft, that pick goes to the jets.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know if this is exactly confirmed, but Brad Worset, there could be a freeze put on both of these selections where neither of the picks can be traded since we don't know which pick is technically going to
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: the jets.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: So he says it's the first time I can remember a technicality preventing an NFL team from trading its own draft capital, but it really diminishes the potential pay off for any kind of trade.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: Any kind of trade-back scenario he says would ideally, you know, and this is what I just said, net the Browns a future for a SRAM pick in 2027, and that's when they theoretically will be looking to land their franchise quarterback.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: It is a significant motor for engaging and trade back at all to net a future pick in the first round.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then somehow adding a second 2021 round pick is at the top of my wish list on draft night, however teams know the buzz around what many believe will be in all time draft class in 2021 and they will be slow to part with their picks.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how this goes, but it sounds like I, and I can't really read off of this whether it's, you know, like officially off the table for the Browns to get that 2027 first from the Cowboys, but it would be, they would have to agree to take the lower.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: of the Cowboys to, uh, first round picks next year, since the higher has already been spoken for.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: So it does create a little bit of a sticky situation in trying to recoup future draft capital.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just sports either.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: It works like this.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: Simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: So if you trust your takes and instincts, and I know you guys do, go check out how she can see what markets are live right now.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, use our link in the description or just head over to kalshi.com slash dogs, K-A-L-S-H-I-.com slash dogs, D-A-W-G-S, and you'll get $10 when you sign up and trade $100 on kalshi, because why shouldn't you guys get paid for being right?
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: So then this article moves on other things.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: They know Brown's top 30 visits.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the top 30 visits that the Brown's haven't invested in so far, this draft cycle shows a heavy emphasis on wider silver.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: They've hosted Cardinal Tate, McCuy Lemon, Jordan Tyson.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: So there's your top three guys.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: They've hosted Cacene Cutsepsion, Omar Cooper, Chris Bell, Denzel Boston, and Jeremy Burmneard.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: So that,
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like they say here aligns directly with the lead wide belief that the wide receiver class is extremely deep because of course the browns are hosting the receivers projected to be available around pick six, pick 24 and pick 39 meaning they are taking or do very much intended take a wide receiver with at least one of those picks.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: So Brad Ward says this class presents an opportunity to elevate the Brown's wide receiver room in a significant way.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I think, I agree, this is a very deep wide receiver class.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of wide receivers that are going to come in and help make your wide receiver room better.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: The catch.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: are a lot of those guys, the type of receivers who can come in and move into your wide receiver one spot for your team.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: No, not not all of them, obviously, not even a lot of them.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think that there's a handful.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: And if you pass on that handful, then you are saying, okay, we're not operating with a, a true defined alpha wide receiver one yet again, in Cleveland in 2026, we were just going to have a,
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: a bunch of wide receiver 2s and 3s and 4s and let's see if somebody can kind of rise to the top and lead us for at least this year.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see what they end up doing at wide receiver, but again, I'm not saying that just because they pass on 1 at 6, they can't get good receivers later on, they can, they absolutely can.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: I just question the ceiling, the absolute ceiling of those players
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: Then the last thing here, I thought was interesting, outside of the draft, looking at why receiver help for the Browns.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: Could they trade for one?
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: Is there a free agent, why receiver?
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: They could sign still.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: And he's pulling off the notes here from a PFF article that talked about the Browns being a good land he spot for, and it's kind of a funny pick here.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: But Joanne Jennings, the former why receiver for the 49ers.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: He has been cited that his asking price, that what he once paid on a contract is just too high.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: And that is why he has not landed with a team yet.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: So he's projected on guessing this is either Spotrack or PFF to sign a three year deal, somewhere around 15 to $20 million a year.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, here's this PFF had him signing a three year $50 million deal with $29.5 guaranteed.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: it's about 16.7 million per year.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: Jennings is almost 29, he was, he's not like a, this is the problem for agency.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about all the time with these free agent Wider Severs.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: You're getting maybe a decent Wider Severs two for your roster, or maybe a very, very high end Wider Severs three.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: But you're going to have to pay him high end Wider Severs two low end Wider Severs one money.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: doesn't make any sense.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: And why I say it's a funny name to be connected to the Browns is because of the whole altercation last year when the Browns played the 49ers and after the game, like whatever was going on in the field between Jennings and and the Browns players on defense and Shelby Harris, I think it was came out and said yeah, he's a hoe and he went on that long rant about why John Jennings is just a POS, you know, trash talking, staying things about people's families and stuff out there, wives, kids and it's like,
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: All right, well, apparently now we're connected to that guy, but I don't think Joanne Jennings would be a good pick up for the Browns anyway.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: Again, even if he does lower his asking price, it's still going to be too high for the Browns.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: and overpaying for a high-end wide receiver three low-end wide receiver two, like I said, just doesn't make any sense for this team right now.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: So that's kind of where Brown's film breakdown is talking about things.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: They think they know about the Browns, these trade rumors.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: and all that kind of stuff.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: So just to kind of rehash Carnell Tate is their clear novius pick at six.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: None of the tackle prospects really based on the tape in the film review warrant using a top six pick to draft.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: And if the Browns did, then the only two that would be acceptable in their eyes, Maui Noa and Spencer Fano.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: And they say, Caden Proctor is not a good prospect there.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: And Monroe Freelings, too much of a projection on his upside, but where he currently stands as a prospect, just it's not there for number six overall.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: Now, looking at Caden Proctor, they did a hard ago on that, a Rethro yesterday did a short video on it, so I'll just kind of go off memory on that one a little bit.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: But Caden Proctor as an athletic traits guy.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: exactly what the Browns and honestly, any NFL team is going to be looking for in a left tackle prospect.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: You got six foot seven, 355 pounds.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: He can squat.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: It was 800 something, bench five, 35.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: The dude is is only 20 years old.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: He played left tackle for Alabama.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think three years, 40 starts.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's got it.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's got the resume.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's got the
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: experience that you want at a major college program, yet the boot, he's got the physical traits, the length, the weights, the mass, everything.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's got the, the athleticism, the footwork.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's just when they, when Brown's film break down went through his tape.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: They said for a 40s, you know, a guy who started 40 career games and his career in his college career.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: The lack of growth and development and the inconsistency that still showed up this latent of the process were all major red flags and he's going to have a lot of work to do to build up consistency to be a good starting left tackle for an NFL team.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now is he worth the is is the juice worth the squeeze at a certain point?
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely it is.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: But they argue not at number six.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: Please know not at number six with Caden Proctor.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's the weight issue they said at Alabama, he was at like 370 something.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to try to maintain 350-ish at the NFL level and they said that's something he's never done before.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: He has never maintained 350.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: He has always played at 370 plus at Alabama.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: So, can he do it?
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: I saw, I think it was Jordan Reed or, I mean, it wasn't Reed.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: said, you know, Caden Proctor, this guy could be so good if he wants to be.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: If he wants to be, I don't want any question about whether a guy wants to be good when I'm picking somebody at six.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: That sounds way too much.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like the last tackle we took from Alabama.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm out on Caden Proctor at six.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: You can probably talk to me about him at 24 if you're still there.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he will be.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: I do think these will call him tackle prospects in quotes because like can he Matt keeps saying?
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: I see a lot of right tackle.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: See a lot of guards out of our tackle prospects here in the first round projections.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: Do think a lot of those guys are going to start getting scooped up in the teens and the early 20s again.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: We're at 24.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not like we're at 2829, but
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's always a possibility the Brown's, I mean, I got to put it out there that we trade up from 24 to go get the tackle we really like.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: And we trade up to go get freeling.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: We trade up to go get proctor.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: The only problem with in my mind of thinking about the Brown's trading up is that they never trade up.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: Andrew Barry does not give up draft capital to move up.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: He trades back to collect draft capital.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's only traded up one time in six years.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: One time with any significant, and that was the J.O.K., when he traded up from $5.56 to $52, I think, in the second round, something like that.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: To go get J.O.K., I don't remember exactly.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: It was something like that.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, last year he traded up for Shidorah Sanders.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: He traded what two six round picks to move up to the fifth round.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like, to me, that's not a significant investment.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's not a significant trade-up.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: So a significant trade-up would be moving from $24, because you'd have to give up significant
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: 15 or 16 to go get your tackle if he's on the board and you think somebody else has gun informed.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: I put the odds very low that that happens.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, it can happen.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: It just would break the trends that Andrew Barry has set over the last six years.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so I do have a message here.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to read this is from Tony from the website.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: He says, hey, guys, I am a Detroit Lions fan, but I'm also invested in Shidorah Sanders doing well.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: So I root for the Browns.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: Tony, we also a lot of Browns fans anyway.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: Root for the Lions at times.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: Um, just kind of like our NFC partner over there, the, you know, North teen that's had just absolutely crap teams historically over the last 30 years.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: And differences you guys have actually been making a decent run of yourselves in recent years.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: But Tony goes on here.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: He says, I do believe that the best way to do that is not draft an offensive guy at six.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: I think the best chance for the Browns to be successful next season is to make your defense even more elite.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: So he doesn't want to take a guy on offense.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: He says go defensive.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: You have a top three defensive door Sanders has shown.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: He will be able to get you 20 points with a full lost season and the apparent sabotage he dealt with last year.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: Go Denzel Boss in that 24-Sign Taylor Decker and Stefan Diggs after the draft.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: Diggs helped Josh Allen C. J. Stroud, Jake May in their development.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's a leader in the wide receiver room, and he can still get open.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: He says your offense is already young enough.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: You need to go get some solid vets.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_01]: Get another guard in the third round.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: Draft Chris Bell at 39.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: He will be Josh Gordon for you when he is fully healthy.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: You guys have a great show and I wish the lions had one like this.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: Well, sorry that the lions don't have a good podcast to listen to.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad that you found our show and that you like it.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: So we appreciate that.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it goes against the conventional thought process for a lot of us here on the show for the first
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: fan base in general.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: There are some people who are thinking like you Tony, but it's really hard to get behind drafting another defensive player at six when I mean, I know you root for Shador Sanders and you're invested in him doing well.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you watched every Browns game last year like we did.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: Brother, that crap is hard to watch.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: That offense with no playmakers, with Jerry Judy dropping the ball, every time it comes at him, and the only other receivers on the field are UDFAs, like dude, is really hard to watch.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not saying that you're a spoiled lion's fan, although I guess you could probably read into that by what I'm about to say.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: You've got on and Ross St. Brown, one of the best receivers in the entire NFL.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Jamison Williams who is a decent option outside of that.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: You've got your tight ends like Sam Laporta who can do things for you.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: Isaac Tesla was a nice rookie last year, showed some signs.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got reliable veteran depth pieces on your wide receiver core, like Cliff Raymond and those types of players.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: Over the last couple years that make plays can pop off and have a big game.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have any of that.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand that kind of plays into what you said about ghost sign like it's to find days, but the browns don't need to find digs.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: they don't need that right now that is a headache and that is just too much of a bad personality I don't mean the personality is not the right word, but his off the field crap stuff like that gets amplified even more in Cleveland not worth it to me.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean come on you guys have Jamir Gibbs you guys had the the Gibbs Montgomery you know tandem at running back for the last several years it's one of those things where the Browns don't have any of that.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: We have none of that.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we have Quenchon Judkins.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_01]: What's really good is a rookie despite the poor offensive line play.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's coming off the major injury coming off surgery.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a slow go, at least to start the season.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we have Harold Fanon Jr., who really popped off as a rookie.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's not enough.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: That is not enough.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: We need more talent on offense.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm with you that you can build an elite defense
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: There are defensive players, very, very good defensive players who the Browns could draft at 24, at 39, even at 70, who could come in and be starters, actually be starters or high level contributors.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: year one right now on the defensive side of the ball, we don't have to use the sixth overall pick to get a defensive player to come in here and help this defense be better.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think that again, there's going to be a lot of players available at those other picks on the defense side of the ball.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: If you want a true difference maker on offense, that's where you're going to have to use a higher pick to get it because there are fewer of those true difference makers.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: in this draft on the offensive side of the ball.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: But Tony, thank you for the message.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: As always, we appreciate hearing from everybody out there.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: We got buck and ears fans following the show, Gabriel.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: We've got Lions fans and Tony.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: This is a good time, man.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: I love hearing from people from other fan bases.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by Butcher Box for Pets.

- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, another message here from the website, this one's from Dan.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to read this the other night when I did the live show on YouTube with Justin Kenny, but he's got kind of a longer message here, so I wanted to wait and do it here today.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: So Dan says, Hey, guys, Dan from Barberton, I inherited the same sickness you guys have four hour beloved pervellers of sadness.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: I've loved the show since hearing about it close two years ago.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the flashback.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's Thursday, April 24th, 5 p.m. in California.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: My boy and I have this man cave set up.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: We're super excited to see who the browns are going to draft at number two overall.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: I crack a beer.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: My boy cracks a root beer and we're hyped.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_01]: as Ward comes off the board at number one.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're hearing whispers of a possible trade down.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: We're terrified of how far back we might fall.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: See the 2016 draft rounds trade back to eight.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: Then back again, the 15 picking up 75 picks between the 3rd and 7th round, and that result in zero.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: hits.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: All of a sudden, the Bigboard Flash is in the Jaguars helmet is displayed.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: We're happy because our traitorous cousin, who's from Jacksonville, gets hashtag NFL Otani.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: We're still getting the details.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: ESPN screws up the trade details initially, saying, we got the fifth pick and next year's first time happy because all the college quarterbacks dodged the Browns at number two for yet another draft by returning for end.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, about 11th college.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: football season.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: So we should have a solid pick in 2026.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: The Jaguar sucks.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: So we should have two in the top 10.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's what everybody said.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: Dan, I remember hearing all that.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: He says Q of the price is right, Trombone want want.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: The hashtag factor is sack sadness we end up with number 24.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh wait, we also get another second round pick in 25 awesome.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: We should be drafting a wide receiver.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: Should doors there at number 5.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: Let's freaking go defensive tackle.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: WTF.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: I know man.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's exactly the the response we all had to during the live broadcast.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_01]: He says our offense hasn't scored a touchdown sense.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: Cows are to land on the anger sharks are swimming.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: Pick 33 offensive weapons.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: What the f a linebacker.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my f and gosh.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: He says okay.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: We can get a weapon at 33.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: Thank God.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_01]: Quinn-Chon Judkins is the RBI wanted.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: Well, son, I tell my boy if Travis Hunter becomes a superstar, at least we drafted a defensive tackle linebacker and a running back instead.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then Travis Hunter gets hurt, the world proclaims no one can ever be a two-way star in NFL.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: That is still a safe proclaimment.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: Then today we find out he's going to be a full-time cornerback.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: Our defensive tackle was a potential rising star.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_01]: The linebacker was defensive rookie of the year and the running back looks every bit a top 12 running back in the NFL.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: The question, did we win the trade?
- 39:25[SPEAKER_01]: Dan says, I will say if we send the Jaguars 24 back to them for Brian Thomas Jr. then ab so lootly.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, see the 2016 class, I'm still waiting for the draft.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: I have too much Brown's draft PTSD to proclaim a win at this point.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: So that was fun, Dan.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the little flashback story telling there.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's always fun to do that kind of exercise a week or so before the upcoming draft.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, last year was a whirlwind, man.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: It really was.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this show, you guys know if you were here with us.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: The table was dented from all the pounding we did saying offense offense offense.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: You can't possibly draft a defender in the first four picks in this draft.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: We have got to get offense because our offense is the worst.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then we went defensive tackle and linebacker with the first two picks.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't that we didn't like the players.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: say it all the time, Mason Graham consensus top D.T.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: in the class, so that was, you know, okay, we like the player, didn't like the position, didn't like that the pick necessarily at five.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: And then Carson, Swesinger, I mean, obviously nobody can sit there and say he will be the defense of rookie deer.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: I really liked Carson, Swesinger because I knew he was in a lot of the research I had done and all my draft prospect evaluation and stuff from last year.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: He consistently
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: either the top linebacker on some people's boards and break downs, or if not the top, then probably like a top three linebacker in that class.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I knew who he was.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: I knew his name.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: I knew who he was as a prospect.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: He just wasn't on my radar for the Browns, because again, offense offense offense.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why this year we did the
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the episode last week of other players, especially defensive guys that you need to know, heading into the first round because just because we found the table for offense offense offense doesn't mean the Browns are going to do that.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: I got one last voicemail here today.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: This one is from our buddy up in Canada, Claude.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_02]: Hey gang, Claude from Erio.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_02]: Just a quick comment about the draft and I had a question about the upcoming schedule.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: But the draft honestly just I hope we just get a wide receiver that as Brown's fans, we can champion behind like it would just be cool just to get that wide receiver that we can just put our faith in and just be comfortable like knowing that we have an elite wide receiver.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hoping that person is Tate.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Tate all day.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: As for the draft, I have no idea.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: I've never gotten a single mock draft right, so I just go and blind every year.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_02]: But for the schedule, I'm curious to know where your guys thoughts are on, like, say the Browns poll, like New England or Chicago, New Recorderback, build around them, find themselves into playoffs.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: In that situation, do you think we're getting the Browns are going to be perceived as like they got lucky because of the easy schedule or like they built a really good team and they and they fought for that position.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, go dogs.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Claude, thanks for the voice.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean to address your last question there.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't give a rat behind what people say about the Browns if they were to make the playoffs this year.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: We made the playoffs.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: That would be awesome.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: That means Shidorah Sanders had a good season.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to be the Sean Watson guys, just stop.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: That means things went well for Todd Munkin.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: We must have drafted at least somebody on offense who can catch the ball and make plays because otherwise I don't know how we're scoring points at any consistent basis to get to the playoffs.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I really don't care what anybody says.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: And as we know about the schedule, yes, we are supposed to have a fourth play schedule.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't always mean it's going to be easy.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: There are, well, last year we were supposed to have a fourth place schedule, right?
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: There was a stretch there where it's like, remember going in the season, we said, we might be oh and eight to start this thing because it's very difficult, it's a gauntlet.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, everything's based on the previous season's record.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's not based on what those teams have done during the off season, because the teams that we face on our schedule,
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, in January?
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, because that's the team you're looking at from 2025.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a completely different team.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much turnover.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much parity in the NFL that in 2026, you got a team like the Saints on your schedule.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: It might look like a decent matchup.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: They could do some stuff in the draft that makes them all the sudden look like that's not going to be a easy game.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns could do the same.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns could be that team.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: We could be on a lot of fourth-place schedules for other teams around the league, and we could do some stuff in the draft.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's like, and the Browns might not be as easy of a game as we thought it was gonna be.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: I will say this.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: Going back to the last time the Browns made the playoffs in 2023, we were not supposed to make the playoffs.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: We were not on a trajectory to do that.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: until we got Joe Flacco in and we hit a portion of our schedule that was easier than the early part.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_01]: And we won a bunch of games, got ourselves into playoffs.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_01]: And then you saw when we went down to Houston against the Texans, it was like, okay, uh, this team wasn't probably supposed to be in the playoffs.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: happens every year.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: There's always teams that sneak into the playoffs that probably shouldn't be there.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_01]: And it's more about the experience, the ride and what you can gain from it and take with you into the next season and continue to build upon.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns obviously didn't do that after 2023.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't build upon anything.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: We we
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: just completely collapsed after that playoff birth again shouldn't have even been there probably in the first place, so maybe that contributed to the collapse then we saw in 24 and 25, but Tate, I'm with you Claude, let's go, let's go get a receiver like you said, I just want somebody that I can have faith in, yes, that is a good way to put it.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: that when he's running his route, he's going to be open when the ball is thrown to him.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_01]: He is going to catch it or the very least, he's not going to drop it now.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_01]: The defender makes a good play on the ball or something like that, whatever.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: These are all NFL players.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: But I am so sick and tired of watching the ball go in and out of the hands of wide open receivers.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: Get him on the helmet or hit him in the face mask or the back of the head because they weren't even freaking looking.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: I still remember that.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: What was that?
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: Was that the Steelers game over the the Vikings game where Dylan Gabriel hit I think it was bond He was like wide open by the end zone hit him right in the back of the helmet because he wasn't even looking back for the ball It's like dude.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: What what what what are we doing?
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: What are we doing?
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's the kind of stuff.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to watch anymore because back to Tony's message Tony
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't watch every game.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know that play.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: That was only one of many plays like that.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: That just made Browns fans go, what are we doing?
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: So let's go Cleveland, let's go Browns, make us happy, get us some freaking players to make this team better and make them more watchable on Sundays.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm tired of watching a struggle to score more than 14 points in the game.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: You're not holding enough opponents under 14 to win enough games to do anything that way.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: You have to be able to score points and right now our offense is not capable of doing that.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: So we need a lot of help.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I appreciate everybody tuning in with me on a Tuesday.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this show is a little bit more choppy.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_01]: Just trying to go through a bunch of these notes and things before the draft and hit some of your messages and stuff.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm back under the weather yet again.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this is just never freaking ending.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: But I guess when you got kids in school and all that kind of stuff you guys do parents out there know Just how it is feel like crap keep going on anyhow and I apologize if this wasn't the best show Wasn't the best episode, but just trying to get content out to you guys get a touch point here ahead of the draft I've got very special guest.
