- 0:00Speaker 1: Danny and Cole 97 one Hank FM kind of rude.
- 0:03Speaker 1: You walked in and you just flung cardboard Cole right
- 0:06Speaker 1: out of the way.
- 0:06Speaker 2: He was in my seat.
- 0:08Speaker 3: He's been doing work while you've been gone.
- 0:10Speaker 2: You've been on vacation. He works like two weeks out
- 0:13Speaker 2: of the year.
- 0:14Speaker 4: So whatever.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Now he's going to have to go take a vacation himself.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:19Speaker 3: So excited to have Cole back in studio.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Hello.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Welcome. We're in all your run Chicago gear.
- 0:24Speaker 2: I had to rent my marathon that I ran. Yeah. Like,
- 0:27Speaker 2: of course I got the gear. Yeah.
- 0:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:29Speaker 2: That was part of the reason I did it.
- 0:31Speaker 3: It's so funny though.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Cause I, when I met B your wife on the thing,
- 0:35Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, first one, not one, not the
- 0:38Speaker 1: first question, but in the first five minutes I did
- 0:40Speaker 1: ask her what kind of merch did Cole get?
- 0:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 3: She was like, oh, it was a thing.
- 0:45Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, okay. That was actually one
- 0:48Speaker 2: of the things I said that you've been asking about
- 0:50Speaker 2: it this morning since I've been in. The expo was stressful.
- 0:55Speaker 2: There was a lot going on because every brand has activations, too,
- 0:59Speaker 2: and they're all trying to get you in. There's a
- 1:01Speaker 2: lot happening there. It was huge. And I couldn't make
- 1:04Speaker 2: a decision. I was already.
- 1:06Speaker 2: You know, overwhelmed and all the things. And finally, I
- 1:10Speaker 2: was like, I just got to get out of here
- 1:11Speaker 2: because this is overstimulating. I'm just going to pick something
- 1:13Speaker 2: and go. But I like what I got.
- 1:14Speaker 3: It's a nice fit.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15Speaker 3: It's a nice fit.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I like it.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Again, we're very proud of your accomplishment.
- 1:20Speaker 2: It was really hard. It was way harder than I
- 1:24Speaker 2: thought it was going to be.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I mean, once I was following along, like, I mean,
- 1:29Speaker 1: like I was doing a lot of work. I was
- 1:30Speaker 1: following along on the app, you know, they have, and
- 1:33Speaker 1: I was looking, I was like, oh my God, she's
- 1:34Speaker 1: still running. I went and watched you at your first
- 1:37Speaker 1: mile or whatever. Then went home, took a nap, woke
- 1:40Speaker 1: up and you were still running.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I needed a nap after watching, so I can't imagine.
- 1:46Speaker 1: But we'll get into more of that throughout the show today.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I did see we're back with Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets.
- 1:51Speaker 3: We're going to do those right around 6.35. We've got
- 1:54Speaker 3: New Country Cash for you to win today. I'll tell
- 1:57Speaker 3: you all about that at 8.50.
- 1:57Speaker 2: They did what? When my wife and I got married,
- 2:02Speaker 2: we got married during COVID. We got engaged in 2019.
- 2:08Speaker 2: We planned the wedding a year in advance, and then
- 2:10Speaker 2: all of a sudden... The world was like, no. Well,
- 2:15Speaker 2: the wedding venue that we had chosen was like, no,
- 2:19Speaker 2: we're not giving refunds. Like, we'll just postpone your wedding
- 2:23Speaker 2: another year, which is what we did. And it all
- 2:25Speaker 2: ended up working out. But there are lots of different
- 2:27Speaker 2: clauses in those contracts about, no, we're not going to
- 2:31Speaker 2: refund you.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Well, you also think like their business, they save.
- 2:34Speaker 2: That spot for you. Yes, exactly. A wedding venue in
- 2:37Speaker 2: Texas catching some heat online for refusing to refund a
- 2:41Speaker 2: family for their booking, even though the groom passed away.
- 2:46Speaker 3: There needs to be an exception.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:50Speaker 1: There needs to be an exception to this rule of
- 2:54Speaker 1: no refunds on your deposit. If somebody dies, you can't
- 2:58Speaker 1: then tell this family who's already grieving that Hey, I
- 3:03Speaker 1: know maybe you might need that money back to handle
- 3:05Speaker 1: some other things going on in your life, but we
- 3:08Speaker 1: saved the date for you and that's our money now.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Danny and Cole 97.1 Hank FM. We've got new country
- 3:15Speaker 1: cash for you to win today. And if you want
- 3:18Speaker 1: some money in your pocket, maybe you're like me and
- 3:20Speaker 1: you went to cover bridge and you spent too much money.
- 3:24Speaker 3: We're going to help you out.
- 3:25Speaker 2: 8.50 this morning. I have to like get back in
- 3:28Speaker 2: my routine here.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I know.
- 3:30Speaker 2: 8.50 this morning. We'll tell you what time to be
- 3:31Speaker 2: listening for your name. How much money we got off
- 3:33Speaker 2: of Grav City? 500 bucks?
- 3:34Speaker 3: I had to double check too. And I did the
- 3:35Speaker 3: contest on Friday. $ 500.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Nice.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:38Speaker 2: HankFM.com. Get yourself registered to win 8.50. We'll tell you
- 3:41Speaker 2: what time to be listening for your name.
- 3:43Speaker 1: So my niece, Corey, is doing 31 movies, 31 spooky
- 3:47Speaker 1: movies for Halloween.
- 3:48Speaker 3: So every night her and her mom are watching.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I love that.
- 3:51Speaker 1: A spooky movie together. And I was looking at some
- 3:53Speaker 1: of the movies she already watched this month. And I thought,
- 3:56Speaker 1: that's kind of fun. If you were to pick your
- 3:58Speaker 1: top movies.
- 4:01Speaker 3: I thought there was an intro there. We'll do it.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Coming up.
- 4:04Speaker 2: So my niece, Corey, is watching a....
- 4:15Speaker 3: I don't they don't they don't have to be spooky
- 4:16Speaker 3: just a movie.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Like a halloween sure season this kind of movie.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Um to be more of a christmas thing i don't
- 4:23Speaker 2: know why we haven't been doing it more for halloween.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I don't like when you log into like hulu or
- 4:29Speaker 1: they have like hulaween and it's all like movies that
- 4:31Speaker 1: go into that i know like i don't know what
- 4:33Speaker 1: the channel's calling more because i don't have real tv
- 4:35Speaker 1: we used to be like abc family.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Or whatever would you like the countdown is it Freeform?
- 4:40Speaker 3: Freeform now? Is that what it's called?
- 4:42Speaker 2: I don't know if it's changed from Freeform.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:45Speaker 2: But I remember when it changed from ABC Family to Freeform.
- 4:50Speaker 1: They used to do like every day a countdown sort
- 4:52Speaker 1: of thing. And so they're watching a movie every night.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, what movies would I like
- 4:58Speaker 1: recommend to watch?
- 5:00Speaker 3: For Halloween.
- 5:01Speaker 1: If you're looking for a scary movie, they say Obsession
- 5:04Speaker 1: was voted the best horror movie of 2026.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I haven't seen it yet.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I haven't either.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I heard it was good. It was on my plane.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I thought about watching it as we were flying this weekend.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Didn't get to that though.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So what movies would you put if you had to.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Pick four, your top four movies to recommend to someone
- 5:19Speaker 1: to watch during spooky season?
- 5:20Speaker 2: First off, I love that Hulu does the Huluween thing
- 5:25Speaker 2: because sometimes I don't have time for a whole movie
- 5:27Speaker 2: and I can just watch a Halloween episode of something.
- 5:30Speaker 2: And I think Modern Family has some good ones. Brooklyn Nine-Nines,
- 5:35Speaker 2: Halloween Heist are always fantastic. I think New Girl has
- 5:39Speaker 2: some good ones. Maybe even Abbott Elementary, a newer one,
- 5:43Speaker 2: has some good ones. But anyway. Movies. Younger me would
- 5:47Speaker 2: have picked a bunch of scary movies. Older me is like,
- 5:49Speaker 2: why are you doing this to yourself?
- 5:51Speaker 4: Okay.
- 5:52Speaker 2: So older me, here's what I... Hocus Pocus is number
- 5:55Speaker 2: one on the list. Clearly, yes. I still love the
- 5:58Speaker 2: old Disney Halloween Town movies.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I've never seen it.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I think there's a nostalgia to that that I love.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I miss that.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:04Speaker 2: It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Okay. Beetlejuice.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Yeah, you didn't go spooky really at all.
- 6:09Speaker 2: I didn't go spooky with any of them.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I mean, borderline, I guess maybe Beetlejuice if you wanted
- 6:12Speaker 3: to stretch what spooky is.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Which at the Covered Bridge Fest, there was a giant
- 6:16Speaker 1: Beetlejuice walking around.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Nice.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I think it's... I forgot what.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I'm so bad at this. I need to start writing
- 6:23Speaker 1: things down because this memory ain't what it used to be.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It's some sort of art studio created this... I didn't
- 6:29Speaker 1: realize at the time until I saw someone posting about
- 6:31Speaker 1: it on Instagram.
- 6:33Speaker 3: It's a giant paper Beetlejuice head. When I say that
- 6:36Speaker 3: this thing was.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I'm trying to look around and comparable in the studio
- 6:40Speaker 1: how big this head was. It was amazing looking.
- 6:44Speaker 2: It was like a mascot head, like a big mascot head.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it was freaky at first, but then I was like,
- 6:47Speaker 1: this is kind of amazing. So yeah, that was walking
- 6:50Speaker 1: around Covered Bridge Fest. You see a lot of things
- 6:52Speaker 1: at Covered Bridge Fest you don't think you're going to see.
- 6:55Speaker 1: But what would make your list of the top four
- 6:57Speaker 1: spooky movies that you would watch this Halloween season?
- 7:00Speaker 3: I've got four. One of yours made my list as well.
- 7:03Speaker 3: We'll get to it coming up. Annie and Cole.
- 7:05Speaker 2: 97.1 Hank FM. We're looking for your top spooky movies
- 7:15Speaker 2: as we countdown to Halloween.
- 7:17Speaker 3: You already ran your four down?
- 7:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll give them to you one more time. Hocus Pocus,
- 7:21Speaker 2: Halloween Town, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and Beetlejuice.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Okay, so I, of course, put Hocus Pocus on there
- 7:26Speaker 3: as well.
- 7:26Speaker 4: So good.
- 7:27Speaker 3: How could you not put Hocus Pocus on this list?
- 7:30Speaker 3: I then, I went spooky.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Okay i know you were like i don't want to
- 7:34Speaker 1: do spooky i went spooky after hocus pocus i thought
- 7:38Speaker 1: the original halloween always a classic or if you don't
- 7:41Speaker 1: watch the original one my other favorite one is halloween
- 7:44Speaker 1: 4 i think it is with the little girl in
- 7:46Speaker 1: like the clown costume okay don't watch the one about
- 7:49Speaker 1: witches that is the worst halloween out of all of
- 7:52Speaker 1: them even all the.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Remakes the shining oh boy yeah Creepy.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Yes, it is.
- 7:58Speaker 1: And the movie that has freaked me out the most
- 7:59Speaker 1: in my entire life is a movie called The Strangers.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Not the one they just redid.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I know exactly what you're talking about. I remember seeing
- 8:06Speaker 2: the trailers for that movie and the trailers were keeping
- 8:09Speaker 2: me up at night.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Because it's the kind of horror movie that could happen
- 8:13Speaker 1: in real life. Like this could happen to you.
- 8:16Speaker 3: So what would make your list, Heather?
- 8:18Speaker 4: Well, my go-to movies are Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare
- 8:21Speaker 4: Before Christmas.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Nightmare Before Christmas was right there on my list.
- 8:26Speaker 4: As well.
- 8:26Speaker 2: And then I got into the whole thing of like,
- 8:28Speaker 2: what is this movie? Are we doing Halloween? Is it Christmas?
- 8:31Speaker 2: Did we just watch it for both? I suppose it
- 8:33Speaker 2: came out around Halloween.
- 8:35Speaker 4: I believe it did.
- 8:36Speaker 2: It did. I know that it did because it was
- 8:38Speaker 2: the number one movie in the box office when I
- 8:41Speaker 2: was born.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Goodness.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Fun fact. Drop that one out.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Makes me feel old. I was like in fifth grade
- 8:50Speaker 4: when it came out.
- 8:51Speaker 3: I was thinking the same thing over here. So I
- 8:54Speaker 3: got you. Well, thank you for your suggestions.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Well, there's also Oculus if you've never seen it. It
- 9:02Speaker 4: is a great psychological thriller.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I've not seen that one.
- 9:05Speaker 4: That's a good one. Okay.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Adding that one to the list if I want my mind.
- 9:09Speaker 2: To be messed up.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 3: So what are those top movies for you?
- 9:15Speaker 2: 317-663-9797.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Do you really want to know? Annie and Cole want
- 9:20Speaker 3: to know.
- 9:22Speaker 2: So when I walked in this morning, you were like,
- 9:25Speaker 2: I was really following along on your social media stories
- 9:29Speaker 2: this past week when you guys were out of town
- 9:31Speaker 2: to what we called Cheers, a series that Because we
- 9:35Speaker 2: have taught my daughter Josie to cheers. So cute. And
- 9:40Speaker 2: she constantly wants to cheers. It's great. Like anytime she's,
- 9:45Speaker 2: we're just like sitting there having lunch and she's got
- 9:47Speaker 2: her little water cup and I've got my water bottle.
- 9:49Speaker 2: We're cheersing water bottles like constantly. But then we were
- 9:53Speaker 2: out at a brewery a couple different times over our
- 9:56Speaker 2: vacation and she's just constantly cheersing us.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 2: To take a drink afterwards and i looked at my
- 10:01Speaker 2: wife and i was like we are gonna be hammered
- 10:04Speaker 2: after this because she cheers every every sip.
- 10:07Speaker 3: How did you guys get this way? Well, she made
- 10:10Speaker 3: us do it.
- 10:11Speaker 2: She was having us drink the whole time because she
- 10:13Speaker 2: wanted to cheers every time we took a drink.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I was peer pressured by this cute little baby over
- 10:17Speaker 1: here that just keeps cheersing. I thought, oh, my gosh,
- 10:21Speaker 1: that's so cute. But I think it's funny because, yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 1: it's cute. And obviously, like, we're going to keep doing it.
- 10:26Speaker 1: But is there anything like as a parent that you
- 10:28Speaker 1: were like, oh, yeah, we thought this would be cute.
- 10:31Speaker 3: And now it's like.
- 10:33Speaker 2: This is all we're doing.
- 10:34Speaker 3: We're doing this all the time. I think about my nephew, Henry, who.
- 10:39Speaker 1: It's now verbal, but for a while, you know, he
- 10:41Speaker 1: was learning how to speak and everything like that. And
- 10:43Speaker 1: they were teaching him sign language beforehand. And so he did,
- 10:46Speaker 1: I'm sure like a lot of young kids learned, they
- 10:48Speaker 1: learned the more.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Which is like you like tap your fingertips basically together
- 10:52Speaker 1: for more.
- 10:53Speaker 3: And we're like, oh yeah, that way he can tell
- 10:55Speaker 3: us what he wants. He wants more.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Except for now, he also says more when he does it.
- 10:59Speaker 1: And when he's mad and he doesn't get it and
- 11:01Speaker 1: you're like, no, Henry, you can't have more. He'll, will
- 11:04Speaker 1: aggressively start talking. signing more and yelling more more more
- 11:10Speaker 1: more and i'm like you're gonna break your fingertips stop
- 11:13Speaker 1: with that more and he's like he looks at you
- 11:15Speaker 1: eye contact more and you're like no more and you're
- 11:20Speaker 1: signing back to them and it becomes a whole a
- 11:23Speaker 1: whole thing and i'm like i i love you kid
- 11:25Speaker 1: but is there something like that that you're like, yeah,
- 11:30Speaker 1: this is really cute. But now we're like, oh my gosh,
- 11:31Speaker 1: we're doing this all the time now. What did you
- 11:35Speaker 1: teach your kid to do that you kind of later
- 11:38Speaker 1: were like, ooh, I wish we could take that one back.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I was just watching the video again of us teaching
- 11:43Speaker 2: baby Josie how to cheers. And so now she just
- 11:46Speaker 2: constantly wants to cheers, which is very fun, except for
- 11:49Speaker 2: when we were at a brewery over the weekend and
- 11:51Speaker 2: every drink we take has to be cheers. And all
- 11:53Speaker 2: of a sudden we're like, I'm chugging this beer because
- 11:56Speaker 2: she wants to cheers. All the time. On the Army
- 11:59Speaker 2: Air text line 317-663-9797, this one says how to use Alexa.
- 12:07Speaker 3: You know, as a.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Kid, I know my parents didn't know everything, you know,
- 12:13Speaker 1: but nobody knew everything, right?
- 12:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 1: And so when they would just make up an answer,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I would accept that as fact. And now your kids
- 12:19Speaker 1: could just be like, uh, I don't think that's so true.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Also, like, you want to hear... This song over and
- 12:26Speaker 2: over and over again.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Well, Alexa will play it. How to unlock your phone. Oh, yeah. Yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 2: that's a good one, too.
- 12:34Speaker 3: That one, I think, could probably be trouble.
- 12:36Speaker 1: This one says we taught our toddler to say rock
- 12:39Speaker 1: and roll and throw up like the rock hands. That
- 12:41Speaker 1: was really cute until now we're in church. And whenever
- 12:44Speaker 1: the music starts, they go rock and roll. Jesus likes
- 12:49Speaker 1: to rock.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 1: You know, some of those church songs do rock, too.
- 12:54Speaker 3: What would you put on our list of Danny and
- 12:56Speaker 3: Cole and Hank?
- 12:57Speaker 1: I follow.
- 12:58Speaker 4: I like.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I share. Danny and Cole on Hank FM. A new
- 13:03Speaker 2: debate is going viral on social media. Here's the question.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Are coffee shops open early enough, specifically like your local coffee?
- 13:13Speaker 3: Not like the chain ones.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Not Dunkin' and Starbucks and those. Multiple people are complaining
- 13:19Speaker 2: about the hours for their local shops. Some are saying
- 13:22Speaker 2: their shops are not even opening until 9 a.m. On
- 13:26Speaker 2: the other side of this, the baristas are saying, we
- 13:31Speaker 2: open this early, but a lot of times aren't people
- 13:33Speaker 2: there that early. So what do you think? Here, I'll
- 13:37Speaker 2: tell you what I think. Because I feel very strongly
- 13:40Speaker 2: about this. I think coffee shops, donut shops, bagel shops
- 13:45Speaker 2: should be open before anything else is anywhere. Like, I
- 13:49Speaker 2: know you and I, we have a unique job and
- 13:52Speaker 2: we wake up very early. Most places are not open
- 13:56Speaker 2: when we're on our way to work. When I leave Westfield....
- 14:03Speaker 3: Other than like mcdonald's like the fast food.
- 14:07Speaker 2: And mcdonald's is open the starbucks is open along our starbucks.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Isn't it well i leave usually i'm leaving westfield's like
- 14:14Speaker 1: five five a.m i don't think the starbucks opens like
- 14:18Speaker 1: 5 30 i want to say yeah.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I think they should open up earlier too i think
- 14:23Speaker 2: that's just like part of that gig is like you
- 14:25Speaker 2: got to be up before everybody else.
- 14:30Speaker 3: But I guess the kind of argument is if nobody's
- 14:32Speaker 3: showing up that early.
- 14:33Speaker 2: And you're paying people to be there. You're paying people
- 14:36Speaker 2: to be there. You're paying to have the store open.
- 14:38Speaker 3: What do you wish was open earlier, though? Is it
- 14:40Speaker 3: the coffee shop? Is it the donut shop? What do
- 14:41Speaker 3: you think you wish was open earlier?
