- 1:09Speaker 1: on the program. Let's see, we've got Day two of
- 1:15Speaker 1: the SEC Baseball tournament where Mississippi State pounded Missouri twelve
- 1:22Speaker 1: to two and They will move on to play Georgia
- 1:29Speaker 1: in the quarterfinals tomorrow, and Florida has just finished an
- 1:34Speaker 1: eight to three win over Vanderbilt. The Commodores are out
- 1:40Speaker 1: the Gators, vying for a top eight spot. We'll see
- 1:44Speaker 1: what happens. They will play Alabama tomorrow night in the quarterfinals.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Still to come Tennessee and Arkansas and LSU and Auburn
- 1:57Speaker 1: this evening. The LSU Auburn winner will take on Texas
- 2:02Speaker 1: A and M tomorrow night in the quarterfinals in Hoover.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Aggie baseball coach Michael Early telling reporters today that Aiden
- 2:12Speaker 1: Simms will not pitch in the tournament. He says Simms
- 2:17Speaker 1: is doing well. It's expecting to throw bullpins on Friday
- 2:21Speaker 1: and Saturday. He said he would pitch again this season,
- 2:27Speaker 1: meaning in the regionals, but I would say unless he
- 2:31Speaker 1: just feels great, I would say we're gonna lean way
- 2:34Speaker 1: way heavy toward We're just going to keep him for
- 2:37Speaker 1: the regional as well. They should. The Houston Astros lost
- 2:44Speaker 1: at Minnesota four to one the final today. Victor Carrotena
- 2:50Speaker 1: and Ryan Kreider homered for the Twinkies. The Astros now
- 2:57Speaker 1: eleven games under five hundred, Trey, would you update me
- 3:02Speaker 1: on Rangers Rockies? The Rangers had back to back home
- 3:06Speaker 1: runs in the fourth inning in Denver, Ezekiel Duran with
- 3:11Speaker 1: a two run shot and Burger with followed with another
- 3:17Speaker 1: solo three four, four to three Rockies. What inning? Oh,
- 3:26Speaker 1: good gosh, who's pitching for the Rangers now, Trey, That's unbelievable.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Jacob Junis is pitching. Good gosh, unbelievable. Okay uh Ohio
- 3:41Speaker 1: State Athletic Director Ross Bulerk, you remember him, said, we
- 3:47Speaker 1: can't govern nationally right now. There are too many extenuating forces.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Can we have a subset at our conference? We're still
- 3:55Speaker 1: going to play each other. The Big Ten wants to
- 3:59Speaker 1: govern its elf. The contingency plan will grow legs slowly
- 4:05Speaker 1: involving enforcement arm we will see. But right now, discussing
- 4:12Speaker 1: the future of the Big Ten governing revenue sharing deals itself,
- 4:16Speaker 1: setting its own rules in a legally defensible framework. Every
- 4:22Speaker 1: conference will go to that unlessen until they appoint me
- 4:25Speaker 1: the cizar of college sports. Big blow for the Colorado Avalanche,
- 4:31Speaker 1: Cale mccarr will misgame one of the Western Conference Finals
- 4:35Speaker 1: tonight against Vegas. Shared Bednar says mccar is day to day.
- 4:41Speaker 1: We're all day to day. Mccar skated Monday, skated this morning.
- 4:45Speaker 1: According to Bednar, he is improving. He left the ice
- 4:50Speaker 1: holding his right arm following a collision late in Game
- 4:54Speaker 1: five against Minnesota last week. He returned in overtime, left
- 5:01Speaker 1: briefly after Game one, taking a hit along the boards.
- 5:05Speaker 1: ESPN says Bookar is dealing with more than one injury
- 5:10Speaker 1: and possibly reaggravated an injury that is keeping him out. Meanwhile,
- 5:17Speaker 1: it has been one hundred and seven years since an
- 5:23Speaker 1: NHL team had to break had such a long break
- 5:28Speaker 1: between two playoff series. The Hurricanes last game was May
- 5:34Speaker 1: the ninth. They don't start until tomorrow. That is a
- 5:40Speaker 1: long time between hockey games, eleven full days. Shane gotta
- 5:46Speaker 1: Spear says, you want to play so badly. Obviously, it's
- 5:51Speaker 1: nice to have a break, but when it gets that long,
- 5:54Speaker 1: it's a little too much. The Hurricanes host the Canadians
- 5:59Speaker 1: in Game one of the Eastern Conference Finals tomorrow night.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Widely anticipated changes in the PGA tour. Sports Business Journal
- 6:11Speaker 1: reveals that CEO Brian Rolap reveal a proposed plan to
- 6:15Speaker 1: players two weeks ago that would include two tiers of tournaments,
- 6:20Speaker 1: the first track, twenty three elevated events, sixteen regular season tournaments,
- 6:27Speaker 1: three FedEx playoff events, and four majors. Currently, regular season
- 6:35Speaker 1: signature events have fields between seventy and eighty Only three
- 6:39Speaker 1: of the nine have a thirty six hole cut. However,
- 6:43Speaker 1: that's expected to change. Today we have eight signature events,
- 6:48Speaker 1: said ROLAP. We're effectively looking to at least double that number.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Add the four majors, the players are postseason and Presidents
- 6:57Speaker 1: or Ryder Cup, and you get twenty one to twenty
- 7:01Speaker 1: six events. Live Golf is moving forward with its plan
- 7:06Speaker 1: to take a new business model to potential investors, perhaps
- 7:13Speaker 1: in the US. Saudi Arabia's public investment fund, of course,
- 7:17Speaker 1: pulled out leaving Live in Limbo. Hey just see what
- 7:24Speaker 1: I did there, leaving Live in Limbo. Don't then I
- 7:29Speaker 1: screwed everything down. Don't try that on your own. I'm
- 7:32Speaker 1: a professional lives exploring considering a number of things with
- 7:37Speaker 1: long term strategic partners. The sources say. League has received
- 7:43Speaker 1: significant interests from potential investors, but until I write a check,
- 7:47Speaker 1: there's no Live Oh this is good. Florida basketball coach
- 7:55Speaker 1: Todd Golden is the first one to weigh in against
- 7:58Speaker 1: what Will Wade is at LSU. We told you he
- 8:03Speaker 1: is recruiting professional players blatantly that aren't eligible. Golden says,
- 8:10Speaker 1: when you're bringing in twenty five and twenty six year
- 8:12Speaker 1: olds that have first all been drafted and have played professionally,
- 8:18Speaker 1: that's not what college athletics is supposed to be. Golden
- 8:25Speaker 1: said this week, I know a lot of it has changed.
- 8:29Speaker 1: The financial pieces are important. This is a net positive.
- 8:34Speaker 1: We're going to have to see some action. I don't
- 8:37Speaker 1: think we have a great chance, but you never know.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Maybe Will knows more than us. And the NCAA took
- 8:47Speaker 1: a step toward adding flag football as an official championship sport,
- 8:55Speaker 1: a key committee endorsing sponsoring as soon as the spring
- 8:59Speaker 1: of twenty eight. The nc DOUBLEA I'm not making this
- 9:05Speaker 1: up people. The NCUBA Committee on Access Opportunity and Impact. Okay,
- 9:13Speaker 1: let me ask this question. Do we need a Committee
- 9:19Speaker 1: on Access Opportunity and Impact? Now? No, we don't. I
- 9:26Speaker 1: don't know how many people are on that committee. I
- 9:29Speaker 1: don't know what the payroll is for that committee. I
- 9:32Speaker 1: don't know how many people are getting paid and have
- 9:35Speaker 1: an office in Indianapolis on that committee. To receive official
- 9:42Speaker 1: approval Divisions one, two, and three all have to individually
- 9:45Speaker 1: sponsor legislation to add a championship at each of their levels.
- 9:51Speaker 1: It will be discussed at the twenty twenty six n
- 9:54Speaker 1: C DOUBLEA Convention. Do they still do that? And why
- 9:58Speaker 1: our CX Sports and Football petition for flag football to
- 10:05Speaker 1: join the Emerging Sports for Women program. You think there
- 10:11Speaker 1: are going to be scholarships for women's flag football players?
- 10:18Speaker 1: You think schools are going to pay for that? Are
- 10:24Speaker 1: you serious? They can't pay for basketball and football right
- 10:29Speaker 1: now and you want a women's flag football Isael Reese
- 10:37Speaker 1: is the founder of rc X Sports. Would you look
- 10:41Speaker 1: up OURCX sports straight because I have no idea what
- 10:44Speaker 1: that is? He says, women's flag football is experiencing extraordinary
- 10:50Speaker 1: growth at the college level. Did you know this? Did
- 10:54Speaker 1: anybody know that women's flag football is experiencing extraordinary growth
- 11:00Speaker 1: at the college level? I mean, let's see, what do
- 11:10Speaker 1: they have? Flag football, street hockey, what's MLB? Are these games?
- 11:18Speaker 1: Are these video games? Soccer? Recreational basketball, recreational basketball? You
- 11:26Speaker 1: think we're gonna have scholarships for that? Come on, people,
- 11:34Speaker 1: somebody needs to call me and make me an offer.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I will clean all of this up. It may take
- 11:41Speaker 1: a couple of days, but I'll clean it all up.
- 11:46Speaker 1: We're gonna take a break, we'll come back. This portion
- 11:50Speaker 1: of the program is brought to you by Chad Jones Law.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I'm Chad Jones. We know sports injuries hurt, and so
- 11:56Speaker 3: do injuries from car recks. But you didn't sign up
- 11:59Speaker 3: to be in a car wreck with someone who wasn't
- 12:00Speaker 3: paying attention. It was their fault and now you're left
- 12:03Speaker 3: to deal with the consequences. You need to see a doctor,
- 12:06Speaker 3: and you're missing work. Chad Jones Law can help. We've
- 12:08Speaker 3: been helping our neighbors for more than two decades. Stop
- 12:11Speaker 3: getting frustrated with the other side's foot dragging. Remember, don't
- 12:14Speaker 3: get mad. Get Chad. Call Chad Jones Law at ninety

- 12:23Speaker 1: Having Kanty and Michelle are unsportsman life.
- 12:26Speaker 4: I love the fact that Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy
- 12:29Speaker 4: get to come back together. On the other side of
- 12:30Speaker 4: the coin, though, is the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise and them
- 12:34Speaker 4: being able to stabilize the most important position in all
- 12:37Speaker 4: the team sports and I don't think this signing helps
- 12:39Speaker 4: them do that any way, shape or for and until
- 12:41Speaker 4: they find a viable long term solution, they're going to
- 12:44Speaker 4: continue to stay on the treadmill of mediocrity unsportsman life.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Listen in weekday mornings from Buying to Adama Zone eleven fifty.
- 12:52Speaker 6: AM and ninety three point seven FM.
- 12:57Speaker 7: You were always all my, you were always on my,
- 13:11Speaker 7: maybe all those longly lonely time.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I guess I'm so Willie sing that in Waco at
- 13:30Speaker 1: Baylor last Thursday evening. Welcome back, glad to have you
- 13:35Speaker 1: with us. It is all Willie Wednesday, Scott Clinton and
- 13:38Speaker 1: is here. Mallory will be here tomorrow. We've got our
- 13:40Speaker 1: Clark Eisenower outdoor show. I'm going to be visiting with
- 13:43Speaker 1: author Matthew Sapinski. He has written a book called A
- 13:48Speaker 1: Fishable Feast, Fly Fishing and Eating your way around the World.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Why didn't I think about this? Why didn't I get
- 13:57Speaker 1: an editor to approve this? I have been to some
- 14:01Speaker 1: of the places that are featured in this book, actually
- 14:07Speaker 1: a few of them over the years, including Alaska, Baha Belize, Colorado,
- 14:19Speaker 1: the Florida Keys, the Great Lakes, Louisiana, Montana. It's not bad,
- 14:27Speaker 1: but I've got a ways to go and not a
- 14:30Speaker 1: lot of time to get there. But that's tomorrow on
- 14:36Speaker 1: the show. Friday. On the show, Caleb is filling in
- 14:41Speaker 1: for Ryan, who normally fills in for me on Friday's.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Riley will also be with him. That is Friday on
- 14:49Speaker 1: the program. Tomorrow, will have a besides the Clark Eisenhower,
- 14:56Speaker 1: will have some Aggie baseball preview, will have a high
- 15:00Speaker 1: school report, will have a report. We will introduce you
- 15:05Speaker 1: to our new intern, Riley Dorsey. Not to be confused
- 15:11Speaker 1: with Riley Flerky. What are the odds that we would
- 15:15Speaker 1: have two Riley's here on the sports staff. But she
- 15:20Speaker 1: is working on a story on the women's golf at
- 15:23Speaker 1: the NCAA in California. She's working on several stories for
- 15:29Speaker 1: us and you will be hearing her throughout the summer.
- 15:32Speaker 1: So we got that going on for us, which is nice. Tonight,
- 15:36Speaker 1: Game one, Western Conference Finals. The Dallas Stars should be
- 15:40Speaker 1: playing in the Western Conference Finals, but they're not. The
- 15:44Speaker 1: Colorado Avalanche are and the Golden the Las Vegas Golden
- 15:52Speaker 1: Knights are playing and hold on, I've got a piece
- 15:57Speaker 1: of paper here somewhere that it's supposed to tell me
- 16:02Speaker 1: these things. But we're going to hear from Jared Bednar,
- 16:08Speaker 1: the coach of the Avalanche first. And wait a minute, Ah,
- 16:16Speaker 1: I knew it was here.
- 16:18Speaker 8: You know.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I know what it sounds like every day. It sounds
- 16:22Speaker 1: like I just sit down and we throw all this
- 16:24Speaker 1: stuff together. But actually there is some work, a little
- 16:29Speaker 1: preparation that goes into this stuff. Not much, but some.
- 16:33Speaker 1: We're gonna hear from the Avalanche general manager Chris McFarlane
- 16:37Speaker 1: and head coach Jared Bednar.
- 16:40Speaker 9: I want to coach.
- 16:41Speaker 10: My question for you is what is it about this
- 16:44Speaker 10: Vegas team that's allowed to coach John Twittorella's coaching style
- 16:49Speaker 10: to translate so well in such a short period of time.
- 16:53Speaker 11: I think I kind of answered this the other day.
- 16:56Speaker 11: I think it's a veteran group. Okay, it's been around,
- 17:00Speaker 11: lots of guys have won. Their good mix between older
- 17:04Speaker 11: guys and younger guys that are making an impact on
- 17:06Speaker 11: their team, and I think it's towards his people's skills.
- 17:11Speaker 11: That's what it is. He's he has a reputation of
- 17:16Speaker 11: driving the best out of all of his guys and
- 17:18Speaker 11: his teams, and you got a team that's won before
- 17:23Speaker 11: and they're hungry to win. So at this point in
- 17:26Speaker 11: the season and down the stretch running in the playoffs,
- 17:29Speaker 11: they're doing whatever it takes, and Towards is the guy
- 17:32Speaker 11: that knows exactly what it takes that side.
- 17:35Speaker 12: Second round Jared Nick Popsenika from Nick's on that concert
- 17:38Speaker 12: back to back Towards questions. But you mentioned the other
- 17:40Speaker 12: day that you were in Cleveland when he was in club,
- 17:42Speaker 12: So I'm curious like that specifically, what were your interactions?
- 17:45Speaker 9: How much did he include you?
- 17:47Speaker 13: What you learn?
- 17:48Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I mean.
- 17:50Speaker 11: Most of the time when you're in the minors, and
- 17:55Speaker 11: you know, the NHL is busy schedule obviously, so it's
- 17:59Speaker 11: not like I saw a ton of Towards, But I
- 18:02Speaker 11: did get to know him a little bit personally and professionally,
- 18:05Speaker 11: and like, I don't know, it's hard to pinpoint exactly
- 18:10Speaker 11: what I learned from him specifically, but I've watched him
- 18:12Speaker 11: go about his business. I've talked to him, you know,
- 18:15Speaker 11: his assistant coaches quite a bit. And the accountability that
- 18:20Speaker 11: he demands within his team is something that, you know,
- 18:25Speaker 11: we talked about quite a bit, and again, I think
- 18:27Speaker 11: it's another reason why their team's having so much success
- 18:30Speaker 11: right now. It's a different voice. I'm sure there's a
- 18:33Speaker 11: lot of the same messaging as Bruce, but maybe a
- 18:37Speaker 11: little bit of a different approach. And you know, at
- 18:40Speaker 11: this point in the year, players are are looking for
- 18:43Speaker 11: direction on what it takes to win, and they get
- 18:45Speaker 11: a group that's hungry to do that.
- 18:48Speaker 14: Stay in that same role, Mark Chris Mark, Blazers Athletic.
- 18:51Speaker 14: I think you have three drafted players on this team.
- 18:53Speaker 14: Obviously they're three very good, very important pieces, but you know,
- 18:57Speaker 14: this is a team that was built through trays and
- 18:58Speaker 14: free agency. In Florida was like that, at Vegas is
- 19:00Speaker 14: like that. Everyone wants to build through the draft these days.
- 19:03Speaker 14: But what are the challenges of doing when you've accomplished
- 19:05Speaker 14: here and building and going without Yeah, that's a that's
- 19:09Speaker 14: a good question.
- 19:09Speaker 15: I think there's there's lots of different ways to skin
- 19:12Speaker 15: the cat. I think the organizational cycle that we've been
- 19:15Speaker 15: in the last number of years has, due to the
- 19:18Speaker 15: job the coaches and our players have done, has kind
- 19:22Speaker 15: of lended itself that we're we're trying to win, right,
- 19:25Speaker 15: So we're sacrificing some of that youth, some of those
- 19:29Speaker 15: picks and prospects. So you've got to delve into whether
- 19:32Speaker 15: it's college free agency or you know, European free agency,
- 19:36Speaker 15: which we've done with the likes of you know, Pavel
- 19:38Speaker 15: Franzos and Logan O'Connor and Sam Malensky, and you know,
- 19:42Speaker 15: our scouts have done a great job supplementing the moving
- 19:45Speaker 15: out of the picks.
- 19:46Speaker 9: So you know, like you said, we've.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Got high, high end drafted players.
- 19:51Speaker 15: That that are still with us and we're fortunate to have,
- 19:55Speaker 15: and you know, we had other ones that are no
- 19:57Speaker 15: longer with us. But I think, you know, I think
- 20:00Speaker 15: the cycle that it's kind of been building on over
- 20:02Speaker 15: the last seven eight years, it's that's that's just part
- 20:05Speaker 15: of the beast.
- 20:06Speaker 14: Look, you can't get through these yeares just one goalie
- 20:09Speaker 14: unless you're a team like a Tampa that hasn't andre Vasileski.
- 20:13Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it's.
- 20:16Speaker 11: Well, some of it is that. I think it's it's
- 20:18Speaker 11: parody within your tandem. I mean, there's not too many
- 20:24Speaker 11: andre Vassilevski's out there right number one, So and it's
- 20:30Speaker 11: you know, the comfort of sort of repeating what you've
- 20:33Speaker 11: done in the regular season. If you've got into the playoffs,
- 20:35Speaker 11: you've been a good team. If you've advanced in the playoffs,
- 20:37Speaker 11: you've been a good team. And if you've used both
- 20:41Speaker 11: guys the whole way in order to get you there,
- 20:44Speaker 11: then I think you know they're to a certain extent,
- 20:48Speaker 11: you might need both guys to keep advancing. I also
- 20:52Speaker 11: think there's there's a lot of I mean, if you
- 20:55Speaker 11: look at some of the starters and a lot of
- 20:56Speaker 11: young guys that are making impacts on the team, you know,
- 20:59Speaker 11: there's young teams that are advancing, and there's there's young
- 21:02Speaker 11: starters that are advancing. So when they're sharing the net
- 21:06Speaker 11: all year and you get to a certain point, it's
- 21:08Speaker 11: like the playoffs is a different animal. It's the mental
- 21:12Speaker 11: fatigue and stress of playing the travel back and forth
- 21:16Speaker 11: on a regular date, Like you're not getting weak long
- 21:19Speaker 11: ten day long home stands and things like that either.
- 21:23Speaker 11: So fatigue is a factor, both mental and physical, and
- 21:27Speaker 11: it's hard to play your best if you're fatigued in
- 21:29Speaker 11: either one of those. So that's why I think you're seeing,
- 21:32Speaker 11: you know, more teams use two guys, even if it's
- 21:35Speaker 11: just for a game or two.
- 21:36Speaker 1: That's Colorado head coach Jared Bednar and also the general manager,
- 21:40Speaker 1: Chris McFarlane. Now, we told you yesterday that the NHL
- 21:45Speaker 1: levied a one hundred thousand dollars fine against Golden Knights
- 21:50Speaker 1: coach John Tortorella for refusing to open the locker room
- 21:55Speaker 1: after his team clinched the matchup again Anaheim. And they
- 22:03Speaker 1: also took away a second round draft pick this year
- 22:08Speaker 1: from Las Vegas. So it's pretty funny when you see
- 22:14Speaker 1: the video yesterday, Tortorella looking like a let's see a
- 22:20Speaker 1: school child that has been caught doing something sitting next
- 22:23Speaker 1: to his general manager. As his general manager, Kelly McCrimmon explains,
- 22:30Speaker 1: we screwed up. He screwed up. This ain't gonna happen anymore.
- 22:34Speaker 1: So let's start with Kelly mccrinnan, the general manager of
- 22:37Speaker 1: the Golden Knights, and then we'll also hear from John
- 22:40Speaker 1: Tortorella felt.
- 22:41Speaker 9: In a playoff series, when you win a series, you
- 22:43Speaker 9: galvanised the bond with your fan base. We missed that
- 22:47Speaker 9: opportunity by not having John available to do postgame. That's
- 22:52Speaker 9: on John for failing to do that. That's on me
- 22:56Speaker 9: as a general manager of the hockey club, the feet
- 23:00Speaker 9: of our comms people who made other arrangements with each
- 23:03Speaker 9: of you to accommodate tight quarters in and around our
- 23:07Speaker 9: dressing room post game. We have no explanation other than
- 23:11Speaker 9: to say we were wrong and to assure you that
- 23:14Speaker 9: it will not happen again. The league has spoke on
- 23:17Speaker 9: the matter. We have spoken the matter. Neither John or
- 23:20Speaker 9: I will be taking any questions on this. Secondly, regarding
- 23:24Speaker 9: Bruce Cassidy, teams have asked for permission to speak with Bruce.
- 23:28Speaker 9: We've been consistent that our focus currently is on the
- 23:32Speaker 9: Stanley Cup playoffs, and the teams have respected that. I've
- 23:35Speaker 9: spoken with Bruce. He understands this as well. Moving on
- 23:41Speaker 9: to the conference finals, we are really proud and excited
- 23:46Speaker 9: as an organization to be in the conference final for
- 23:48Speaker 9: the fifth time in our nine seasons. We beat a
- 23:51Speaker 9: very good Anaheim team to get here. We probably after
- 23:57Speaker 9: two games they had a little bit of an edge
- 23:59Speaker 9: in play. After six games we had the edge and
- 24:02Speaker 9: play very good series. Hats off to Pat Verbeek, Joel
- 24:06Speaker 9: Quinnville and their team. Looking forward to Colorado, I think
- 24:11Speaker 9: everyone knew all along Round three was either going to
- 24:14Speaker 9: be against the Colorado Avalanche or whatever team was able
- 24:19Speaker 9: to beat them. So in round three you're playing a
- 24:21Speaker 9: good team. Certainly this year when you look at Colorado,
- 24:24Speaker 9: I think after forty games they were thirty one to
- 24:26Speaker 9: two and seven. But every year year in round three
- 24:30Speaker 9: you're playing a good team. We went to the Stanley
- 24:33Speaker 9: Cup finals on two occasions. We beat the Dallas Stars,
- 24:36Speaker 9: most recently in twenty twenty three, the year that we
- 24:38Speaker 9: won the Stanley Cup. That was a great hockey team.
- 24:41Speaker 9: We went to the Stanley Cup finals in twenty eighteen
- 24:44Speaker 9: we beat what I think was the best Winnipeg Jets
- 24:46Speaker 9: team ever assembled. So when you get to round three,
- 24:49Speaker 9: you're playing against a really good team. Our organization has
- 24:54Speaker 9: a ton of respect for Joe Sakik, Chris McFarland, Jared Bedner.
- 25:00Speaker 9: We congratulate them on their great year. We've had some
- 25:04Speaker 9: great games with Colorado over the years. It just seems
- 25:06Speaker 9: like every time we play, whether it's a regular season
- 25:09Speaker 9: game or a playoff game, the games are good games.
- 25:12Speaker 9: I think the teams respect each other. I think the
- 25:15Speaker 9: players get up for the games against one another. I
- 25:18Speaker 9: know the last time we played them in the playoffs,
- 25:20Speaker 9: which was five years ago. Was that year where you
- 25:23Speaker 9: played each other in your division. So that particular year,
- 25:25Speaker 9: we played the Colorado Avalanche fourteen times between eight regular
- 25:30Speaker 9: season games six playoff games, and it just seemed that
- 25:33Speaker 9: that year, if we played our very best, we could
- 25:37Speaker 9: play with Colorado. If we played anything less than our
- 25:39Speaker 9: very best, they dominated us. And that's the type of
- 25:43Speaker 9: firepower that they had. Then they've been a champion since then.
- 25:47Speaker 9: We've been a champion since then. Both teams have made
- 25:50Speaker 9: moves to strengthen their teams again coming out of that.
- 25:54Speaker 9: And I know I speak for John in our entire
- 25:57Speaker 9: organization when I say we're extremely excited to get started.
- 26:01Speaker 9: I'll open it up for any questions regarding the years.
- 26:04Speaker 12: Hey, John Chert Bednard talked this morning about when he
- 26:06Speaker 12: was in Cleveland and you were in Columbus. I wonder
- 26:09Speaker 12: what your recollections of him then? What did you think
- 26:11Speaker 12: of him?
- 26:12Speaker 13: Then?
- 26:12Speaker 12: What do you think of the coach he's become.
- 26:14Speaker 16: Yeah, I knew then. I think I had just started.
- 26:17Speaker 16: I think it was after my first year.
- 26:19Speaker 11: First year.
- 26:20Speaker 16: Yeah, And I knew then through talking to people in
- 26:24Speaker 16: the organization and watching what he did with the players.
- 26:30Speaker 16: I talked to him at the end of the year.
- 26:31Speaker 16: I believe it was because I was filling out a
- 26:34Speaker 16: coaching staff. There's no sense of me talking to him
- 26:37Speaker 16: because we knew where he was going to go.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:40Speaker 16: So I have a tremendous my respect for him. A
- 26:45Speaker 16: good man, a very good coach that's coaching a very
- 26:48Speaker 16: good team.
- 26:50Speaker 12: Along the same lines for our writer in the East,
- 26:52Speaker 12: Marty SILOUI, when he was a player, did you see
- 26:54Speaker 12: a coach in him? And do you see the old Marty?
- 26:57Speaker 10: The player?
- 26:58Speaker 16: Marty was a pain in the ass, quite honestly, with
- 27:01Speaker 16: how many questions he'd ask, So I kind of figured
- 27:07Speaker 16: he was going to be there eventually, very inquisitive. It
- 27:12Speaker 16: was just it was relentless as far as the questions
- 27:15Speaker 16: he'd ask. I'm proud of him. I'm knowing very well.
- 27:19Speaker 16: We're very good friends. I'm proud of how he went
- 27:24Speaker 16: about it. He wanted to spend time with his family
- 27:26Speaker 16: and his boys. He wanted to coach them. I think
- 27:30Speaker 16: he picked a time when his boys probably stopped listening
- 27:32Speaker 16: to him and wanted to continue. I think he's great
- 27:37Speaker 16: for the game. I think he's got a unique mind.
- 27:41Speaker 16: And bring so much to the game. So yeah, I
- 27:47Speaker 16: just text him today and we stay in touch.
- 27:51Speaker 6: Again.
- 27:53Speaker 16: What he did for me when I was a coach
- 27:55Speaker 16: and he was a player, I'll never forget. I'm so
- 27:59Speaker 16: happy and proud of them as far as what he's
- 28:01Speaker 16: done here.
- 28:02Speaker 1: All right. That's John Tortorella, head coach of the Vegas
- 28:05Speaker 1: Golden Knights again tonight. Game one Western Conference Finals Colorado
- 28:10Speaker 1: and Vegas. Game one of the East starts tomorrow. We'll
- 28:17Speaker 1: see what happens from there. Kim Alexis Supermodel with us
- 28:24Speaker 1: on Monday. She has a new podcast called Unexpired, and
- 28:31Speaker 1: I like the theme of it. It challenges people who
- 28:43Speaker 1: others say about them their past their prime. If you've
- 28:47Speaker 1: seen Kim Alexis, she's probably a good one to be
- 28:52Speaker 1: hosting that. But we will talk to her on Monday
- 28:55Speaker 1: Writers Roundtable. Also on Monday coming up, Clendennon is going
- 29:01Speaker 1: to join us and Mallory will be with us in
- 29:08Speaker 1: the second hour. The Astros have lost to the Twins
- 29:13Speaker 1: in a game you heard here earlier this afternoon on
- 29:15Speaker 1: the Zone. The Rangers last week checked were losing to
- 29:20Speaker 1: the Rockies. Good thing they've entered the easy part of
- 29:24Speaker 1: their schedule. Anyway, I'm a little put off by that. Hey,
- 29:32Speaker 1: I want to remind you that the Memorial Day weekend
- 29:35Speaker 1: is coming up and Pat Zefcheck and his hard working
- 29:39Speaker 1: crew are going to take advantage. They will not be
- 29:43Speaker 1: open Saturday or Monday. There will be no gasoline pumps
- 29:48Speaker 1: open Saturday or Monday because of Memorial Day. And yeah,
- 29:56Speaker 1: Scott Clindennon gave me that, and I'm glad he did.
- 30:00Speaker 1: I would have had to call otherwise and talk to Pat,
- 30:02Speaker 1: but this way I don't have to. So if you're
- 30:06Speaker 1: getting ready to go on the road for the Memorial
- 30:10Speaker 1: Day weekend, you need to go by Friday at six.
- 30:14Speaker 1: They're open till six today, seven to six Tomorrow, seven
- 30:18Speaker 1: to six on Friday, close, Saturday, close next Monday for
- 30:23Speaker 1: Memorial Day. Don't sad and warn you. It's Sepcheck Service Center,
- 30:28Speaker 1: twenty two hundred longmyre just down for the post office
- 30:30Speaker 1: in College Station.
- 30:32Speaker 17: When it's time for cataract surgery, there's no need to
- 30:35Speaker 17: drive to the city for the most advanced cataract care.
- 30:38Speaker 17: Everything you need is right here at home at Texas
- 30:40Speaker 17: Regional Licener. The latest technology, the most experienced surgeons and
- 30:44Speaker 17: the Patient First Care are community trusts. We're helping patients

- 30:51Speaker 17: on glasses. It's world class innovation delivered with hometown heart.
- 30:56Speaker 17: See what you've been missing Call three six four forty
- 30:58Speaker 17: three thirty one where Texas Regional Light dot com Today.
- 31:02Speaker 13: I'm a pretty great multitasker. I can watch dishes and
- 31:06Speaker 13: do laundry. I can roller skate while walking my dogs.
- 31:10Speaker 13: I can even order lunch while doing my homework. But
- 31:13Speaker 13: I can't use my phone while driving. A distracted driver
- 31:17Speaker 13: is one of the leading causes of death in the
- 31:18Speaker 13: United States. So when it comes to driving, police, don't
- 31:21Speaker 13: be a multitasker.
- 31:23Speaker 18: Don't drive distracted.
- 31:24Speaker 8: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 31:27Speaker 8: Safety Administration, Project yellow Light and the ad Council.
- 31:32Speaker 13: Tech SAgs live weekdays from eight to eleven on the Zone.
- 31:35Speaker 19: Mark Weaver has done it again. The ANM Women's Tennis
- 31:37Speaker 19: Coaches now went two national championships in the last three years,
- 31:40Speaker 19: brings the trophy into the studio. What is it about
- 31:43Speaker 19: this team that like if you were to put a
- 31:46Speaker 19: headline behind this team and what you learned about them
- 31:49Speaker 19: what makes them uniquely.
- 31:50Speaker 13: Then Yeah, I think maybe playing for a bigger call
- 31:53Speaker 13: is a bigger purpose than just themselves.
- 31:55Speaker 5: It was a team I think that truly wanted to
- 31:57Speaker 5: win for Texas A and M, which you don't always see.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Tex Acts Lie brought to you by David Gardner.
- 32:02Speaker 13: Shulers hang out weekdays from eight to eleven on the Zone.
- 32:07Speaker 20: The sun is filled with iris and gives no warmth
- 32:09Speaker 20: at all, and the sky was never blue. The stars
- 32:18Speaker 20: are range rop searching for a place to fall.
- 32:23Speaker 1: And I never cared for you.
- 32:36Speaker 20: I know you won't believe these things I tell you.
- 32:41Speaker 7: No, you won't believe.
- 32:44Speaker 6: Your heart has been for warmed.
- 32:46Speaker 20: Dog Man will lie to you in your mind.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Another song that Willie has added to his concert repertoire
- 32:55Speaker 1: what I Say to you It is all welly Wednesday,
- 33:00Speaker 1: Scott Clint Dinnon is here. I promised the listeners on
- 33:05Speaker 1: Lewis Show today that you would be explaining a path
- 33:13Speaker 1: forward for the baseball team to win the national championship.
- 33:19Speaker 6: Okay, a path forward for the August to win.
- 33:23Speaker 1: A national champion in baseball this year this season? Yeah right, yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 1: starting next week, next week, Yeah, this week done cout
- 33:32Speaker 1: starting next week Sunday or is it Monday? That was
- 33:37Speaker 1: announced Monday right, Memorial Day?
- 33:39Speaker 6: Memorial Day?
- 33:39Speaker 1: Yeah, the most direct route is for.
- 33:45Speaker 6: The agg not to lose, for the Aggies to have
- 33:48Speaker 6: a four seed.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Really, how so I'm.
- 33:53Speaker 6: Saying the four seed they play in regional po okay, yeah,
- 33:57Speaker 6: does not put stress on their pitching staff to allow him.
- 34:01Speaker 1: In other words, a four seed that doesn't have an
- 34:03Speaker 1: SEC caliber Friday night pitcher.
- 34:06Speaker 6: True, yeah, which sometimes four seeds.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Do, Yes, they do, everybody, but almost almost everyone has
- 34:13Speaker 1: one these days.
- 34:14Speaker 6: No, most of them transferred to the SEC or the ACC.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Okay, so you're saying not as many as these smaller
- 34:23Speaker 1: schools from smaller conferences used to have but don't anymore.
- 34:28Speaker 6: Okay, let Ethan Darden pitch a significant portion of that game.
- 34:36Speaker 1: First game, first game, okay, because I.
- 34:39Speaker 6: Don't think you're not starting Ethan Darden saving him for
- 34:41Speaker 6: game two. So if you can win three games the
- 34:47Speaker 6: first weekend by winning, you know, winning the first game
- 34:53Speaker 6: and then comfortably comfortably winning the next two games without
- 34:57Speaker 6: it being with which you know, still can be a challenge.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Not gonna act like there aren't two seeds out there,
- 35:05Speaker 6: that aren't gonna have if Oklahoma shape State shows up here,
- 35:09Speaker 6: or if Lafayette, who's on a run right now, gets
- 35:13Speaker 6: a two seed because they win the Sun Belt, that
- 35:16Speaker 6: those teams can't challenge you. I still think it would
- 35:20Speaker 6: be easier for A and M to win two out
- 35:22Speaker 6: of three for a super regional, because that's what they
- 35:27Speaker 6: have to do every weekend. They won't play a team
- 35:31Speaker 6: if they're a national seed as good as Mississippi State,
- 35:34Speaker 6: unless they have Mississippi State or Florida or someone like
- 35:37Speaker 6: that is matched up against them.
- 35:39Speaker 1: So while I'm thinking about it, Kirk wrote about this
- 35:43Speaker 1: in his Nine Things, Schlass wants to have a tournament
- 35:50Speaker 1: where there's no quote regional, super regional that you're playing
- 35:55Speaker 1: best two out of three period, right you.
- 35:58Speaker 6: Start, Yeah, he wanted that when he was here.
- 36:02Speaker 1: What do you think about that idea? I kind of
- 36:05Speaker 1: like it, And you just mentioned that he said, this
- 36:08Speaker 1: is what we do. You know, every weekend we played
- 36:11Speaker 1: two out of three. It's not really natural to play
- 36:13Speaker 1: double elimination with four teams, and certainly that's the case.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I know they've been doing it forever. He thinks the
- 36:21Speaker 1: best teams sometimes might not necessarily come out of that
- 36:26Speaker 1: fourteen when we've seen that here four team double elimination,
- 36:31Speaker 1: but generally speaking in a two out of three.
- 36:33Speaker 6: You didn't complain about that when he was at TV.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I'm not talking about complaining. I don't think he's complaining,
- 36:38Speaker 1: just saying, hey, I think the format would be better
- 36:43Speaker 1: served for everyone if we did that instead of having
- 36:46Speaker 1: the four team double elimination.
- 36:48Speaker 6: Set a half. Yes, but when TCU was first starting
- 36:51Speaker 6: out and they were the three seeded in a regional
- 36:53Speaker 6: of Texas, A and M and A and M was
- 36:55Speaker 6: the one, and Ole Miss was a two and TCU
- 36:58Speaker 6: was a three, he certainly was wanting to be a
- 37:01Speaker 6: different format. I understand what he's saying. Yeah, you do
- 37:05Speaker 6: play two out of three each and every weekend, and
- 37:09Speaker 6: it does replicate, and you would think that the power
- 37:13Speaker 6: of the top thirty two teams would more than likely win. Yes,
- 37:19Speaker 6: and then you know the next week you would have
- 37:24Speaker 6: you know.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Well, I think you'd start with thirty two forty two.
- 37:28Speaker 1: You'd start with thirty two, right.
- 37:29Speaker 6: I'm saying you'd have thirty two best of threes.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Yes, thirty two best of threes is correct.
- 37:34Speaker 6: Then you would have sixt eighteen best of threes. Correct,
- 37:39Speaker 6: So sure, if your Texas in your the one seed
- 37:43Speaker 6: and you're playing Prairie View two out of three, because
- 37:47Speaker 6: they're they're still going to be in there, and maybe
- 37:50Speaker 6: they're the.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Well here's here's my thing. And I've never even thought
- 37:53Speaker 1: about that. But what we talk about all the time,
- 37:56Speaker 1: and what we've talked about here all year long, is pitching. Right,
- 38:00Speaker 1: pitching When you have to delve into a fourth or
- 38:03Speaker 1: fifth game on a weekend, you know, that's that's trouble
- 38:07Speaker 1: for everybody. I'm not saying, you know, it's not equal.
- 38:10Speaker 1: It is equal, and from that standpoint.
- 38:14Speaker 14: But.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Generally speaking, the best teams are going to win the
- 38:21Speaker 1: two games out of three.
- 38:24Speaker 6: And generally speaking, the best teams are going to win
- 38:27Speaker 6: the first weekend of regional play.
- 38:29Speaker 1: That's that's probably right. That's not necessarily right. That would
- 38:35Speaker 1: change much.
- 38:35Speaker 6: Okay, So you know, why don't we just cut out
- 38:39Speaker 6: those other thirty two teams and just do the best
- 38:43Speaker 6: of thirty two sixteen to best out of threes.
- 38:47Speaker 1: I think that's not be inclusive.
- 38:48Speaker 6: But contract and be exclusive.
- 38:53Speaker 1: No, I mean, I'm not I don't know about that.
- 38:55Speaker 1: How many how many teams there were how many teams
- 38:58Speaker 1: will start? Will there'd be thirty thirty two teams will
- 39:00Speaker 1: start this tournament next week? Oh, there will be sixty four. Okay,
- 39:04Speaker 1: all right, we're not at seventy eight yet.
- 39:07Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly because previously you had a tournament of seventy
- 39:17Speaker 6: and you had play in games. You did have play
- 39:20Speaker 6: in games for some conferences. When was that, you know,
- 39:27Speaker 6: before they went to when they were it was when
- 39:31Speaker 6: they were forty eight, not been when they were five.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I remember forty eight.
- 39:35Speaker 6: But you would have the swack play another non powerful
- 39:40Speaker 6: just like basketball, and they would then be into the tournament.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Like basketball, like basketball.
- 39:47Speaker 6: Okay, we're gonna do that basketball anymore?
- 39:50Speaker 1: Are are you going to be for? Are you going
- 39:54Speaker 1: to go out and see the new women's flag football
- 39:57Speaker 1: team today?
- 39:58Speaker 14: And?
- 39:58Speaker 6: M sure? Why wouldn't I Why do you think it's
- 40:04Speaker 6: women's flag football?
- 40:06Speaker 1: I don't know. Why don't we do men's flag football?
- 40:09Speaker 1: Eliminate all all tackling?
- 40:12Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 40:14Speaker 1: Thank thank you put one hundred and nine thousand in
- 40:17Speaker 1: for a flag football game.
- 40:20Speaker 6: How many did you put in for banana b.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Just one hundred and two.
- 40:24Speaker 6: There're not.
- 40:26Speaker 1: We'll take a break, we'll come back the astros report
- 40:30Speaker 1: from yesterday, which will be a lot better than today's
- 40:33Speaker 1: astro report, so that's why we're doing it. Tomorrow's astro
- 40:37Speaker 1: report won't be as good, just like today's Ranger report
- 40:42Speaker 1: is going to be good, but probably not very good tomorrow.
- 40:46Speaker 1: UH roll its right.

- 42:03Speaker 22: The Houston Astros reabele to squeak out a win last
- 42:05Speaker 22: night against the Minnesota Twins. Houston scored their only two
- 42:08Speaker 22: runs of the game in the first inning via eastcoc
- 42:11Speaker 22: Parades to run Homer.
- 42:12Speaker 24: There goes the runner, the three too, and that's real
- 42:15Speaker 24: deep to left field. Going back is Larnick at the
- 42:17Speaker 24: wall looking up, see at letter off the facing of
- 42:21Speaker 24: the second deck. A two run blast for Eastcoc Paradas
- 42:25Speaker 24: and it's two to I think Astros.
- 42:28Speaker 22: The Astros pitching would take it from there, as the
- 42:30Speaker 22: pitching staff win nine innings, allowing just one run in

- 45:41Speaker 1: This has been a song that has been part of
- 45:43Speaker 1: Willy's concert repertoire for a long time, either the second
- 45:50Speaker 1: or third song he plays after Whiskey Rivers. Scott Clandennon
- 45:53Speaker 1: Is in studio didn't play Blue as Crime. He did not.
- 45:58Speaker 1: He does not play that one. Arkansas, I tell you
- 46:02Speaker 1: what he does, Arkansas just homers ye uh, Nobody Meadow
- 46:07Speaker 1: Base one nothing Arkansas. Any surprises beside Missouri beat Nole
- 46:13Speaker 1: miss so far.
- 46:16Speaker 6: Uh, Catcher's interference allows Jaques Peterson to reach.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Oh nice, how many outs? Oh good, So the tying
- 46:25Speaker 1: run is on base for the Rangers. Beautiful.
- 46:30Speaker 6: I was shocked, even in even with the season they're having,
- 46:35Speaker 6: how few LSU fans were at the game less.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I had mentioned, Uh, it was going
- 46:41Speaker 1: to be interesting to see that because uls you generally
- 46:45Speaker 1: travels and what like you said, it would have been
- 46:49Speaker 1: interesting to see. They will play Auburn this evening late
- 46:55Speaker 1: event eventually they will play Auburn. By the way, that
- 46:59Speaker 1: game didn't that That last game last night wasn't as
- 47:04Speaker 1: late as I thought. It started at nine, It went
- 47:07Speaker 1: three and a half hours and hit at twelve thirty
- 47:09Speaker 1: this morning. I thought it was going to be like
- 47:12Speaker 1: a like a two.
- 47:14Speaker 6: Am or I did not see the end of that game.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't see any of it. What time do
- 47:20Speaker 1: you think the A and M game is going to start?
- 47:22Speaker 6: Now? Nine o'clock? I know there's a run roll like
- 47:25Speaker 6: you did earlier today.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Texas will play the winner of this Tennessee Arkansas game.
- 47:32Speaker 1: But the thing is there's a fifty chance of rain
- 47:38Speaker 1: all weekend, so they're not scheduled to start Friday until
- 47:48Speaker 1: three o'clock. Right, there's two games scheduled for Friday. There's
- 47:52Speaker 1: two games scheduled for tomorrow, right, two quarterfinals tomorrow to Friday. Yes,
- 47:57Speaker 1: And they do that so they could if they need
- 48:00Speaker 1: to play games when it raids, they could play games
- 48:03Speaker 1: early so.
- 48:04Speaker 6: They can mess over half of the bracket by having
- 48:06Speaker 6: one one less day to get your pitching it.
- 48:09Speaker 1: And they also do it for television sake, so TV has.
- 48:13Speaker 6: Nothing to do with it. Who's in Friday's game and
- 48:16Speaker 6: who's in Thursday's game.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Thursday's game is Mississippi State Georgia. That is the three
- 48:22Speaker 1: o'clock game scheduled, and Florida Alabama is the late game.
- 48:27Speaker 6: So they've messed over Texas and Texas A and M
- 48:29Speaker 6: have one less day to write.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Those others get an extra day's rest. Why do you
- 48:35Speaker 1: think they did that?
- 48:37Speaker 6: Because they are like the America East Conference and they
- 48:40Speaker 6: like to mess over hard diamond sports teams.
- 48:49Speaker 1: It don't matter, it's just the conference tournament.
- 48:52Speaker 6: Fostercu singles to write Peterson a second.
- 48:55Speaker 1: We got a rally going. The raizers have a rallying.
- 49:00Speaker 6: Brandon Nimo bats third for you, right.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Yes, he does Oh wait.
- 49:04Speaker 6: They ran for him with some guy named Osuna earlier.
- 49:07Speaker 1: And no soon is it that?
- 49:08Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 49:09Speaker 1: Yeah, what are you gonna do? Oh, Nemo's got Nemo
- 49:15Speaker 1: has some leg issues.
- 49:17Speaker 6: So does he pitch?
- 49:19Speaker 1: No? No, he hits, but he's not. There's another home
- 49:23Speaker 1: run by the way. Oh no, yeah, it's the three
- 49:25Speaker 1: to nothing now Arkansas, Well.
- 49:27Speaker 6: There might be a run rule in this game after all.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Yeah, there may be a run rule in this game.
- 49:32Speaker 1: It's early and Arkansas is up three to nothing.
- 49:35Speaker 6: I remember when Arkansas was bad this year.
- 49:38Speaker 1: So yeah, Vanderbilt is out. I saw a deal after
- 49:44Speaker 1: this Florida win eight to three. Is there a path
- 49:48Speaker 1: for Florida to be a top eight seed right now?
- 49:55Speaker 6: They have to somehow still be playing and have am
- 49:59Speaker 6: get embarrassed in their game against.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Auburn ELM, So it wouldn't. There's not going to be
- 50:06Speaker 1: five SEC teams what you're saying, No, there'll be four.
- 50:09Speaker 1: They'll be four, okay, and I know we went through
- 50:12Speaker 1: this five. There'll be five SEC teams in the top.
- 50:16Speaker 6: Eight Texas, Auburn, Alabama and A and.
- 50:19Speaker 1: M and U c l A, Georgia Tech and uh
- 50:24Speaker 1: North Carolina. Yeah, okay, so there will be five SEC teams,
- 50:29Speaker 1: but Florida would have to jump in to knock one
- 50:32Speaker 1: of those teams outs. What you're saying, yes, okay, Alabamica, Well,
- 50:39Speaker 1: well they're they're playing Alabama. Yes, so if they beat Alabama.
- 50:44Speaker 6: Ye, But Alabama's actually some reason in front of Well,
- 50:48Speaker 6: they did sweep Auburn and they won two out of
- 50:50Speaker 6: three against A and M. So maybe they are the
- 50:52Speaker 6: team that needs to be at the top of that list.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Alabama you're talking about, yes, instead of Auburn or not?
- 51:00Speaker 6: Think they've lost Auburn and I think they and they
- 51:02Speaker 6: lost A and M the series, so you.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Know, okay, uh and I know you already know this too.
- 51:07Speaker 1: But early announcing today that Aiden Simms won't be pitching
- 51:10Speaker 1: during the weekend, Yes, he'll be ready for the regionals,
- 51:15Speaker 1: will pitch again, and you think he'll pitch Game two
- 51:19Speaker 1: of the Regionals. How do you think it'll be set up?
- 51:22Speaker 1: Or will they wait and see who's coming? He wouldn't
- 51:25Speaker 1: announce even who's starting Tomorrow night or a Friday night.
- 51:28Speaker 6: Actually, I think it's gonna be Ethan Dark.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Okay and Friday and Saturday. No, okay, not Friday and Saturday. Okay,
- 51:37Speaker 1: but I think that season player, well you know Tennessee
- 51:44Speaker 1: is not playing well.
- 51:46Speaker 6: I think that I would think that Sims would probably
- 51:49Speaker 6: be the Sunday starter in regional play.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Really okay? Yes, so who would who? Dark would be
- 52:00Speaker 1: a starter? Yes, Western Moss, Yes, would go before Simms.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Would would pitch? Depend again, depending on how the tournament
- 52:11Speaker 1: plays out, right, who if it plays out the way
- 52:14Speaker 1: it's supposed to. As the seeded teams, you're saying he
- 52:18Speaker 1: would save Simms for that for that third game, providing
- 52:22Speaker 1: they win the first two.
- 52:23Speaker 6: I think that that would lead towards what you're asking is,
- 52:26Speaker 6: how could you advance?
- 52:27Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you.
- 52:29Speaker 6: Have Sims pitching and deciding game. Yeah, then he's getting
- 52:32Speaker 6: as much rest as he possibly can.
- 52:34Speaker 1: For the next for the next yeah.
- 52:36Speaker 6: Yeah, because I would think that most teams number four
- 52:40Speaker 6: starter against the Aggie offense would have trouble.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, no question. The number three starters have that trouble,
- 52:47Speaker 1: The number two starters of that trouble, The number one
- 52:50Speaker 1: starters have no.
- 52:51Speaker 6: Well, now you got to look at AM's record in
- 52:53Speaker 6: game one.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Well, yeah, you're right, the game with three and seven?
- 52:56Speaker 1: Is that right? In conference play? Yeah, three and seven
- 52:59Speaker 1: Friday nights. It's really remarkable when you when you look
- 53:03Speaker 1: at how that is. Yeah, yeah, that's it's.
- 53:08Speaker 6: It's fifteen wins in game two, in game three.
- 53:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's amazing. It is given you know, not having
- 53:16Speaker 1: that nailed down, lockdown guy and and having a team
- 53:20Speaker 1: that's going to be in the top eight. You you
- 53:23Speaker 1: would think, at at worst a team like that that
- 53:26Speaker 1: may be in the top four seeds, you don't, you know,
- 53:30Speaker 1: depending what would be five and five in those Friday
- 53:33Speaker 1: night games, right, yes, So what what they've been able
- 53:38Speaker 1: to do without winning that first game in the series
- 53:42Speaker 1: is remarkable.
- 53:44Speaker 6: Now that Soona did not drive in the time run,
- 53:49Speaker 6: dang it. The time runs scored on a pass ballo excellent.
- 53:55Speaker 1: So the Rangers are clawing their way back against the
- 53:59Speaker 1: Rockies today. I don't know if there has been a
- 54:02Speaker 1: total of ten thousand fans in these three games in Denver. Now,
- 54:09Speaker 1: first of all, it's the Rockies, which is sad because
- 54:13Speaker 1: it's you know, it's a beautiful part. But in my
- 54:17Speaker 1: mind at least, second of all, the Rangers have never
- 54:21Speaker 1: been a big draw anywhere they go. And third of all,
- 54:23Speaker 1: the weather's just been brutal in Dinver. It's been cold
- 54:26Speaker 1: and rainy for three days. Absolutely just terrible baseball weather
- 54:31Speaker 1: for three days. But I'm telling you, it didn't look
- 54:34Speaker 1: to me like there were a total and I haven't
- 54:38Speaker 1: seen well I did. I saw a highlight of a
- 54:41Speaker 1: home run earlier that the Rangers hit early. They did
- 54:44Speaker 1: hit back to back home runs when they took the lead,
- 54:47Speaker 1: and it looked like about as many people in the
- 54:49Speaker 1: stands as I've seen the last two games in Denver.
- 54:52Speaker 4: Wo.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Something has to happen with that franchise. And I heard
- 54:57Speaker 1: the Ranger guys talk about it last night that you know,
- 55:00Speaker 1: Denver's a pretty big city. Oh, Rangers have gone ahead
- 55:03Speaker 1: Young singles to left, Josh Young's been pretty good.
- 55:07Speaker 6: Oski scores sooner to third.
- 55:10Speaker 1: They were talking about the fact that Denver is, you know,
- 55:13Speaker 1: Denver is a pretty large city. It's not a small market.
- 55:16Speaker 6: No, And NFL wouldn't be there if it was a small.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Market, right, The NBA wouldn't be there if it was
- 55:22Speaker 1: a small market. The NHL wouldn't be there if it
- 55:26Speaker 1: was a small market. Right. So they just haven't done
- 55:31Speaker 1: a really good job, and they haven't. If they've spent money.
- 55:36Speaker 1: It's been poorly right, but they haven't their Their payroll
- 55:41Speaker 1: is not in the top ten as I understand it.
- 55:45Speaker 1: And that's pretty big time market with really good sports fans.
- 55:50Speaker 1: By the way, really good sports fans. It's it's sad
- 55:54Speaker 1: to watch. I got to tell you. It's they're just
- 55:58Speaker 1: not very good right now. Okay, So caught at the wall. Yeah,
- 56:02Speaker 1: four to one, two out for nothing. I'm sorry for
- 56:05Speaker 1: to nothing, Arkansas against Tennessee in the first inning. David
