Big fish, big change: Tumwater just installed a massive 19-foot-wide, 60-foot-long culvert under Sapp Road to help salmon and trout swim freely again—replacing an old barrier that blocked their path. Crews even moved fish downstream during construction and added natural streambed material to make the new passage feel like home.
