- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody.
- 0:06Speaker 2: You're listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now,
- 0:10Speaker 2: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Well,
- 0:14Speaker 2: nothing changes about that. Nothing changes about that. Man. I
- 0:19Speaker 2: was just getting ready to come on the air this morning.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I was just thinking, Man, I was just having a
- 0:28Speaker 2: reflective moment of just how really good God has been
- 0:32Speaker 2: to me. I just it's it's it's man. Let me
- 0:38Speaker 2: just say that again, how really good God has been
- 0:42Speaker 2: to me. And here's a cold part. In spite of myself,
- 0:47Speaker 2: you understand that, in spite of all my shortcomings, in
- 0:52Speaker 2: spite of all of my flaws.
- 0:55Speaker 1: And and and and and in.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Spite of all of what anybody has said about me, God,
- 1:02Speaker 2: through his grace and mercy, just keeps me anyway. So
- 1:06Speaker 2: many of us are exceptional people, but we refuse to
- 1:15Speaker 2: just go ahead and be exceptional. We settle for the ordinary.
- 1:21Speaker 2: We follow the pack. We try to fit in.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Man, oh man, oh man.
- 1:27Speaker 2: You know I've heard my wife say this to my
- 1:30Speaker 2: children all the time when she was scolding him or
- 1:32Speaker 2: talking to him. She'll be talking to him about leadership.
- 1:35Speaker 2: You know, why are you following everybody when God clearly
- 1:38Speaker 2: made you to lead. So many of us are born,
- 1:41Speaker 2: and so many of you are born to be exceptional people,
- 1:45Speaker 2: But we always trying to follow the pack. Why would
- 1:50Speaker 2: you try to fit in? Why would you try to
- 1:53Speaker 2: be like everybody else be ordinary? Why would you follow
- 1:59Speaker 2: the pack act? When God has created you to be exceptional.
- 2:04Speaker 2: The key word in exceptional is except you. Ever you
- 2:08Speaker 2: ever dine this right here? You know, everybody did that
- 2:11Speaker 2: accept me. Everybody felt that way except me. Everybody said
- 2:19Speaker 2: that except me. Everybody won't wanted that, accept me. Everybody
- 2:25Speaker 2: went over that except me. Everybody jumped in except me
- 2:31Speaker 2: except me. See why have you said that in your life?
- 2:36Speaker 2: If you were not to be exceptional? See you got
- 2:40Speaker 2: to say everybody except me at one point in Yo, ta,
- 2:43Speaker 2: I don't know who ain't done it? You know everybody
- 2:46Speaker 2: wanted everybody voted.
- 2:47Speaker 1: No except me. See so you're not You're.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Not created to follow the pack. You ain't created to
- 2:55Speaker 2: fit in. You ain't created to, uh you know, to
- 2:58Speaker 2: be ordinary. You were we ate it to be exceptional.
- 3:02Speaker 2: As exceptional as your fingerprint on your finger is. You
- 3:06Speaker 2: wire created to be exceptional. Why not make this the
- 3:10Speaker 2: year that you go head on and be exceptional. Why
- 3:14Speaker 2: won't this be the year that you decide in your mind?
- 3:18Speaker 2: But just has to be a decision that we make.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Now we not following the pack no more. We not
- 3:24Speaker 2: trying to fit in no more. We ain't settling for
- 3:27Speaker 2: ordinary no more. We're gonna be exceptional. But you know
- 3:31Speaker 2: you got to go ahead and follow that. You got
- 3:33Speaker 2: to get on the exceptional path because that's what you
- 3:36Speaker 2: were created for.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Why be ordinary? You know?
- 3:39Speaker 2: But all of this this comes it has to start
- 3:42Speaker 2: with a thought. You got to first think something. Thoughts
- 3:47Speaker 2: become things. A man is as he thinketh That's all
- 3:52Speaker 2: you will ever be. So what are your thoughts today?
- 3:56Speaker 2: Why not have exceptional thoughts instead of ordinary thoughts? I
- 4:00Speaker 2: have exceptional thoughts instead of fitting me in thoughts.
- 4:03Speaker 1: So why you want to be like everybody else?
- 4:06Speaker 2: Why you want to be ordinary when you could possibly
- 4:08Speaker 2: be extraordinary with a change of your mind, a change
- 4:13Speaker 2: of your venue, And.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You don't have to be any other kind of way?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Just because my mama was this, well, my daddy was
- 4:19Speaker 2: this way, or this the school I went to?
- 4:22Speaker 1: This?
- 4:22Speaker 2: What race I belong to? This is my sexual preference,
- 4:25Speaker 2: this is my this, this is my dad how many?
- 4:28Speaker 1: How many? How many excuses you need? I mean, how
- 4:31Speaker 1: many excuse?
- 4:32Speaker 2: What? What?
- 4:32Speaker 1: What?
- 4:32Speaker 2: What's it gonna be this year that we let another
- 4:36Speaker 2: three hundred and sixty five days slip by without improving
- 4:40Speaker 2: our condition, our place, our spot, our life, the quality
- 4:45Speaker 2: of life we have. We cannot afford to keep letting
- 4:50Speaker 2: all these years go by without changing.
- 4:55Speaker 1: You're an exceptional person. How many times have you set
- 4:59Speaker 1: up and said, everybody did that? Accept me? You know?
- 5:03Speaker 2: I was only everybody jumped in except me. I told him,
- 5:07Speaker 2: I knew it. Everybody voted for that except me. And
- 5:10Speaker 2: now look at it, man, it seemed like everybody went
- 5:15Speaker 2: that way except me.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Okay, do you get it?
- 5:20Speaker 2: Do you understand what's being said to you that all
- 5:24Speaker 2: accept me is? Because couldn't it be? Because you're an
- 5:28Speaker 2: exceptional person? And it's time for you to take control
- 5:31Speaker 2: of that. It's time for you to start thinking different.
- 5:34Speaker 2: It's time for you to start acting on what you think.
- 5:37Speaker 2: It's time for you to start doing something about it.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It's time for you to stop taking each and every
- 5:42Speaker 2: day that God gives us for granted and letting them
- 5:45Speaker 2: go by the wayside like you got plenty more. Well,
- 5:48Speaker 2: you may have plenty more, But guess what what you
- 5:51Speaker 2: wasting the ones you got for?
- 5:54Speaker 1: I got you.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Young, and you feel like you're gonna live forever. Eh okay, cool,
- 5:59Speaker 2: But let man ask you something. See here go the
- 6:02Speaker 2: part about it. I supose you do live? See see
- 6:05Speaker 2: everybody worrying about dying. But I got news for you.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Suppose you keep on living. You want to keep living
- 6:10Speaker 2: in the condition you in now. You want to keep
- 6:13Speaker 2: living with the money you got now. You want to
- 6:15Speaker 2: keep living with the relationship you got now. You want
- 6:18Speaker 2: to keep living by yourself like you are now. You
- 6:21Speaker 2: want to keep wanting the right relationship, the right man
- 6:23Speaker 2: to the right woman, but you keep getting the wrong one.
- 6:26Speaker 2: You want to keep doing that for the rest of
- 6:28Speaker 2: your life. Problem ain't dying. There's problem is if you
- 6:30Speaker 2: keep on living. Who wants to keep on living just
- 6:34Speaker 2: the way they are right now? And if you could say,
- 6:37Speaker 2: I'm cool, what I am? Just the way I am
- 6:39Speaker 2: right now? In cool, this conversation ain't for you. Ain't
- 6:42Speaker 2: got no problem with that. You know you know what
- 6:44Speaker 2: I say. Greatness ain't for everybody being exceptional. Ain't for
- 6:49Speaker 2: everybody becoming extraordinary. Ain't for everybody heck, becoming successful ain't
- 6:54Speaker 2: for everybody.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I got it.
- 6:57Speaker 2: And you can come up with a way to justify
- 6:59Speaker 2: your non exist instance in your ordinary life all you want,
- 7:02Speaker 2: and that's fine and dandy. I ain't got no problem
- 7:04Speaker 2: with it. Because some people just gonna be regular. Some
- 7:08Speaker 2: people just gonna follow the pack, follow the crowd. Some
- 7:11Speaker 2: people just wants to fit in. But if you're not
- 7:14Speaker 2: that person, if you want to be extraordinary, if you
- 7:18Speaker 2: want to be exceptional, if you want to be if
- 7:20Speaker 2: you want a dad to be great at something, and
- 7:23Speaker 2: you got to change your mindset. You got to get
- 7:26Speaker 2: what your creator and find out what he created you for.
- 7:29Speaker 2: You got to quit thinking of things just in your
- 7:31Speaker 2: own thought process. You know, lean not to your own understanding.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I don't know where that is, but it's in there somewhere.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Seeing Once you lean, if you lean to your own understanding,
- 7:41Speaker 2: you know what it's gonna do. It's gonna limit you, man,
- 7:43Speaker 2: it's gonna limit you. Why not see what God got
- 7:47Speaker 2: for you? I would rather know what God got for
- 7:49Speaker 2: me than to think of all the things I could
- 7:52Speaker 2: because I can't out think him out and tried it before.
- 7:55Speaker 1: All right, it's just the beginning we're gonna have a
- 7:57Speaker 1: good one man. Let's go to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
