- 0:07Speaker 1: he is going to be in starring in a part of,
- 0:10Speaker 1: and hopefully a successful impetus for in New York called
- 0:16Speaker 1: The Pitch by Tom Alper. Phil will be off Broadway.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I have an extensive background in theater. Let's just see
- 0:24Speaker 1: how much Phil Henry knows. In the meantime, we encourage

- 0:48Speaker 1: as home movies taken by the Henry family. There are
- 0:51Speaker 1: podcasts from Bobby Dooley as well as Elcott, The Next
- 0:54Speaker 1: Step and the Milwaukee Lions. I used to do a podcast,
- 0:57Speaker 1: but I became too busy, very very busy, and just
- 1:01Speaker 1: wrapped up in too many other projects. I didn't have time.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Even though Phil well, I have to say, practically begged
- 1:07Speaker 1: me to do what. Nonetheless, get a backstage pass, a
- 1:10Speaker 1: subscription to Phil's website, and let's all pitch in to
- 1:14Speaker 1: make the Phil Henry Show even more successful than it
- 1:18Speaker 1: has been. Me I'm Margaret Gray. Yeah all right, don't
- 1:22Speaker 1: do that. Don't do that.
- 1:25Speaker 2: And now one on one with Margaret Gray. Yes, Bargaret Gray,
- 1:31Speaker 2: one of the great theater veterans and observers. We'll top
- 1:36Speaker 2: this evening with Phil Henry on one on one with
- 1:41Speaker 2: Margaret Gray.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Thank you very much, Stu Wattins. I am Margaret Gray,
- 1:47Speaker 1: and you know me of course as one of the
- 1:49Speaker 1: panelists on the world famous Phil Henry Show. But I've
- 1:51Speaker 1: done oh so very much more in theater. I along
- 1:55Speaker 1: with John Jerryman, well, we walk the boards in Philadelphia
- 1:58Speaker 1: for quite some time in musical theater as well as
- 2:00Speaker 1: dramatic and some comedic theater. I have a great deal
- 2:05Speaker 1: of experience. I have a lot of time invested in theater.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And one of our good friends, a colleague and a
- 2:12Speaker 1: host of of course the Phil Henry Show, will join
- 2:15Speaker 1: me this evening in this one on one with Margaret Gray.
- 2:20Speaker 2: One on one with Margaret Gray, brought to you by well.
- 2:24Speaker 1: We're all famous. Phil Henry Shows website, Phil Henryshow dot com.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Get a bas day pass now, Margaret Gray, thank you
- 2:33Speaker 1: very much, Stole. Phil Henry and I made acquaintance in Miami,
- 2:37Speaker 1: Florida many many years ago when I was living with
- 2:40Speaker 1: my husband Frank in bal Harbor. From that time forward,
- 2:44Speaker 1: we both found ourselves relocating, well all three of us.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I relocated with Frank, that's two, and then with Phil Henry.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Cut this out, will you? I said, like a fucking sorry,
- 2:54Speaker 1: and Margaret, I relocated with my husband Frank, and Phil
- 2:59Speaker 1: Henry of course did as well. And this evening, we're
- 3:01Speaker 1: extremely grateful and very excited to be talking with Phil Henry,
- 3:07Speaker 1: the host of the Phil Henry Show and a great
- 3:09Speaker 1: many other projects, Phil, that you've done down through the years,
- 3:12Speaker 1: your radio show. You've done some television and movies. Yes, correct, Yeah,
- 3:18Speaker 1: But what's the biggest movie you think you've been in?
- 3:21Speaker 1: That would probably be a Team America. Ah, that's a
- 3:23Speaker 1: voice only right, Yes, now, I'd say that's the biggest movie.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So you did a character voice in that, A couple
- 3:29Speaker 1: of them. Yeah, So you weren't visually acting in front
- 3:32Speaker 1: of the camera, No, all right. The reason why I
- 3:35Speaker 1: asked that, Phil, is this is a relatively new experience
- 3:37Speaker 1: for you to be on the boards off Broadway, standing
- 3:41Speaker 1: in front of a live audience, a live theater audience.
- 3:45Speaker 1: And I imagine that, you know, reciting your lines, being
- 3:49Speaker 1: in character live? Ill. Yeah, doesn't that cause you whe
- 3:54Speaker 1: How do you feel about that? You know what's funny?
- 3:56Speaker 1: I was talking to a friend of mine. Does it
- 3:59Speaker 1: make you nerve? No? Not really, it doesn't, not that
- 4:02Speaker 1: aspect of it. Cut let's cut all this out and
- 4:06Speaker 1: why it's starting it And so Phil, you will be
- 4:09Speaker 1: on the boards, You'll be live on stage. Does that
- 4:13Speaker 1: make you nervous that part of it?
- 4:15Speaker 3: No?
- 4:15Speaker 1: I actually was talking to a friend of mine. I said,
- 4:17Speaker 1: the actually performing on stage in a play feels way
- 4:22Speaker 1: more relaxing in my mind than being on camera. So,
- 4:27Speaker 1: in other words, being in a play live. You understand
- 4:30Speaker 1: what I mean by that, right, Yeah, there's all those
- 4:33Speaker 1: people are staring at you. I've known people, Phil, not
- 4:37Speaker 1: myself snaring. I'm not including this because I have a
- 4:40Speaker 1: great deal of theater experience. I know that. Yes, I
- 4:43Speaker 1: never lost control of my bowels or anything. There are
- 4:46Speaker 1: people who get on stage look at the audience and
- 4:49Speaker 1: lose full control of their bowels. Have you heard about that? No,
- 4:52Speaker 1: I haven't. That sounds almost incredibly embarrass it's incredibly embarrassing,
- 4:56Speaker 1: almost fatally embarrassing. Yes, you want to go off stage.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It's never happened to me, but I've been told you
- 5:03Speaker 1: want to after that happens. You want to walk off stage,
- 5:05Speaker 1: go out the back door of the stage of the theater. Yeah,
- 5:10Speaker 1: walk directly out into traffic and wait for a bus
- 5:13Speaker 1: to hit you when you lose control of your bells.
- 5:16Speaker 1: And I see you find that amusing. Well, no, but
- 5:18Speaker 1: I think no, it's not amusing at all. No, it
- 5:21Speaker 1: is not amusing. But you are going to go on
- 5:23Speaker 1: stage in Tom Alpers the pitch. It ran three years
- 5:27Speaker 1: in Los Angeles. Now it is off Broadway. Do you
- 5:29Speaker 1: understand what that means. Yes, it's a great step up
- 5:34Speaker 1: for Tom and the play. What about you as an actor?
- 5:37Speaker 1: It's amazing for me to be able to actually step
- 5:40Speaker 1: on stage in a big time play for the first
- 5:41Speaker 1: time off Broadway. It's exciting, but it doesn't make you nervous,
- 5:46Speaker 1: it really does. The thing that makes me nervous is
- 5:48Speaker 1: getting to New York, getting into my little you know, apartment,
- 5:52Speaker 1: making sure I know my lines, all that stuff. You
- 5:53Speaker 1: know that the rehearsal, but the getting on stage doesn't know.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Can we cut all of this? Why do you want
- 5:59Speaker 1: to cut it?
- 5:59Speaker 4: Mark?
- 6:00Speaker 1: What's wrong? I don't know? You know, listen, Phil, you
- 6:03Speaker 1: know we're burning daylight here, all right? Three two one meters.
- 6:09Speaker 1: That's interesting. You know, I've got a lot of experience
- 6:11Speaker 1: in theater. Yeah, I know, Oh you do know. Yeah,
- 6:14Speaker 1: you've told me and with John Jerryman. Yes, And as
- 6:17Speaker 1: I said, I've never it's never happened to me. But
- 6:19Speaker 1: I know people who've gone on stage for the very
- 6:21Speaker 1: first time off Broadway. Now you know what that is. Yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 1: it's off Broadway. Well it isn't just that it's off Broadway.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I know you're on forty seventh Street and Broadway's right there,
- 6:32Speaker 1: but it's this close to being on And when you're
- 6:35Speaker 1: on Broadway, you're in the big time. You are in
- 6:39Speaker 1: the big time, my friend. Yes, And I've known people
- 6:42Speaker 1: who've gone on stage off Broadway, looked at the audience,
- 6:46Speaker 1: said their first line, and then turned to look at
- 6:48Speaker 1: the audience, and everything evacuated out of the lower colon.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I'm sorry to hear that this sounds devastating. Well, like
- 6:56Speaker 1: you said, it's so embarrassing. Yes, they wanted to turn around,
- 7:00Speaker 1: walk out the back door. Do you mind, General, come on,
- 7:04Speaker 1: walk in front of a bus, do you mind? Well, Margaret,
- 7:06Speaker 1: we've heard this part. General. Let let Margaret conduct the interview.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I got it, fill Let me do it. You're cutting
- 7:12Speaker 1: all this out right, yes, ma'am. So tonight we talked
- 7:15Speaker 1: with Phil Henry about the experience of being on stage
- 7:18Speaker 1: for the first time. Have you done theater before? Yes?
- 7:21Speaker 1: I mean I was in a little tiny community theater things,
- 7:23Speaker 1: and I was on stage at UCB doing comedy. It was,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you know, doing my little show that I wrote for
- 7:28Speaker 1: Theater West. So these are all rather as small.
- 7:32Speaker 4: And is that?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Is that the air conditioning? That's the air condition going on?
- 7:36Speaker 4: Eh?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Let it let it ride? What do you mean, let
- 7:38Speaker 1: it ride? Turn it off? Bitch, God, Margaret, Well, turn
- 7:42Speaker 1: it off, bud, Oh God. I can barely breathe, Margaret.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Do you want a glass of water? Yes? Please? Margaret.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Are you enjoying us? I'm enjoying it, Phil, yes, but
- 7:53Speaker 1: I'm having I'm conflicted because of my experience in the
- 7:57Speaker 1: theater which is extensive, and you go walking into the
- 8:01Speaker 1: experience and I mean this, girl, I love you very much,
- 8:03Speaker 1: you know that. But you're walking into this experience almost
- 8:06Speaker 1: like you're thumbing your dick, you know, thumbing my dick?
- 8:10Speaker 1: How you never mind turn it off? Bud tear enough now,
- 8:18Speaker 1: come on, boy, damn it? All right? Three two one
- 8:22Speaker 1: Me and Phil. So it's interesting. Can I just follow
- 8:27Speaker 1: up on something you said? Yes, go ahead. You said
- 8:30Speaker 1: that you've got an extensive experience in theater. I do, yes, okay.
- 8:35Speaker 1: And the fact that you see me, a relative novice
- 8:37Speaker 1: coming on stage and I'm quoting now thumbing my dick
- 8:41Speaker 1: all the way? Did you have to cut that out?
- 8:43Speaker 4: No?
- 8:43Speaker 1: No, wait a minute, Margaret, that's what you said.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Phil.
- 8:46Speaker 1: You don't have any state What did you say? You
- 8:48Speaker 1: had community theater, community theater, community theater. Yes, I did
- 8:55Speaker 1: community theater. I did live improv at UCB. I wrote
- 8:59Speaker 1: about a one man show that I performed, you know,
- 9:01Speaker 1: for three three performances at Theater West. I've done live
- 9:04Speaker 1: stuff of an off Broadway play. No, I have not,
- 9:09Speaker 1: all right, So, but there's a lot of actors that
- 9:13Speaker 1: have limited to no theater experience. Name one I think
- 9:17Speaker 1: Johnny Depp Isn't Johnny Depp a guy that I don't know?
- 9:19Speaker 1: It's here you have to be careful about that. I
- 9:21Speaker 1: know that there's there's good film actors and TV actors
- 9:24Speaker 1: who have limited to no stage experience. All right, So
- 9:27Speaker 1: why do you feel that you and I forgive me, Phil,
- 9:30Speaker 1: but why do you feel you should go bumbling and
- 9:32Speaker 1: stumbling with the thumb up, the thumb up my ass? Well, Phil,
- 9:38Speaker 1: this is what we're talking about. No, it's not. Why
- 9:41Speaker 1: do you feel you should be able to do that?
- 9:43Speaker 1: Because I want to? Because it because being on stage
- 9:47Speaker 1: is the actors medium. And if you want to be
- 9:50Speaker 1: a great actor, I mean, really really learn how to
- 9:52Speaker 1: be an actor, a good one. I think you have
- 9:54Speaker 1: to do stage work. You have to do live theater.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Oh really, yeah, you Margaret, you told me that. I
- 9:59Speaker 1: know that, But the way you say it so convincingly,
- 10:02Speaker 1: and here you are off Broadway, your very first, your
- 10:05Speaker 1: very first crack at it. Do you know how do
- 10:08Speaker 1: you know how long it took me to become the
- 10:10Speaker 1: understudy for Ruth Bougavilia in Camelot off Broadway. No, it
- 10:14Speaker 1: took me several years, several years and I just finally
- 10:16Speaker 1: hired as an understudy, and one night she gagged up something.
- 10:21Speaker 1: What's so funny? Nothing, You're the one that's laughing. I'm
- 10:24Speaker 1: laughing at the memory. She gagged up something looked like
- 10:27Speaker 1: a hot dog or something. She couldn't go on And
- 10:29Speaker 1: that was your big break. That was my break. Yes,
- 10:31Speaker 1: all right, Margaret, I've got fifty years in the entertainment business.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Fifty years. Well, a lot of that film is in radio.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I don't care. The entertainment entertaining audience is fifty years
- 10:42Speaker 1: experience doing that from that on to movies, to talk radio,
- 10:47Speaker 1: doing all of that. What movies you pluralize that, Margaret
- 10:51Speaker 1: Ticuli my IMDb I've done, you know, not a lot
- 10:54Speaker 1: of them, but I have. And the point that I'm
- 10:56Speaker 1: trying to make here is that I have experience putting
- 10:59Speaker 1: myself in front of an audience and trying to make
- 11:01Speaker 1: them happy. So this is just another phase of that.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm very grateful to be doing this. I'm very grateful
- 11:07Speaker 1: to Tom, to Christine, to everybody who said, yeah, Phil
- 11:10Speaker 1: be a part of our production. Now, this is Tom
- 11:13Speaker 1: Alterer is the play right as well as he's one
- 11:15Speaker 1: of the he's the star isn't he Yes, And it's
- 11:17Speaker 1: called the Pitch? Do you want to tell us what
- 11:18Speaker 1: it's about?
- 11:19Speaker 5: No?
- 11:19Speaker 1: I could, but I can't really do it because they
- 11:22Speaker 1: didn't mess it up. Can't really do it because it
- 11:25Speaker 1: would mess it up. It's a very very interesting plot.
- 11:29Speaker 1: The reviews were that and are that it is a
- 11:31Speaker 1: Glen Gary Glenn Ross for a new generation Glenn Gary Glenn.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So those guys were a bunch of bucket salesmen selling land. Yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 1: so there's there's kind of that element to it. I
- 11:41Speaker 1: don't want to go any further, and I don't want
- 11:42Speaker 1: to speculate, not speculate, but I don't want to have
- 11:46Speaker 1: people speculate. I suggest you go see the play. Well, Phil,
- 11:49Speaker 1: a lot of us are not in New York. I'm
- 11:51Speaker 1: not in New York. It was here in La it
- 11:54Speaker 1: was here in Los Angeles for three years. Well, I
- 11:57Speaker 1: guess I miss out then, Jesus Christ, Margaret, sorry, but
- 12:00Speaker 1: you know, want you get on a plane and you
- 12:02Speaker 1: and Frank fly to New York and see it. Come
- 12:04Speaker 1: see me, hang out. Donnie's going to be back there,
- 12:06Speaker 1: Joe's going to be back there. He's with his new bride,
- 12:08Speaker 1: Mallory my brother David Katz will be there, Julie Talbot
- 12:13Speaker 1: will be there. And you want me to what to
- 12:14Speaker 1: hang out with you people? No, Margaret, you don't have to,
- 12:17Speaker 1: all right, I'm sorry, Yes, all right, I'll get Frank. Well,
- 12:20Speaker 1: i'll get Frank. I'll pack his ass out of plan.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I mean it sounds to me like you just don't
- 12:23Speaker 1: want to, you know, No, Phil, it's not that. It's
- 12:26Speaker 1: the fact that, and I think I speak for a
- 12:28Speaker 1: lot of actors and a lot of producers and a
- 12:30Speaker 1: lot of performers when I say the following thing. We
- 12:34Speaker 1: some of us break our rear ends for years clutching
- 12:38Speaker 1: and clawing and grabbing and striving at that little tiny slice,
- 12:42Speaker 1: that small slipper of success that we all wish for.
- 12:46Speaker 1: We grab and we clutch, and we claw, We squeeze,
- 12:49Speaker 1: we wrap our legs around it. We try everything we
- 12:52Speaker 1: can to get a little bit of success out of
- 12:55Speaker 1: this world, in a very competitive field called the entertainment field,
- 12:58Speaker 1: and more specifically the world of theater, we lay back
- 13:02Speaker 1: at the end of the day, panting and trying to
- 13:04Speaker 1: catch our breath, trying to get a little bit of food.
- 13:07Speaker 1: It's almost as if we're laying in a dungeon and
- 13:09Speaker 1: someone is dropping corn pellets down and then going ha
- 13:13Speaker 1: ha ha, there's your dinner. What are you talking about?
- 13:16Speaker 1: Oh my god, you hear that? What are you talking about? Oh, Mark,
- 13:19Speaker 1: I explain it. I'm talking about this, Phil, that I
- 13:22Speaker 1: and many many others that I speak for, worked our
- 13:24Speaker 1: asses off to get to where we are. And here's
- 13:26Speaker 1: Phil Henry strolling into an off Broadway play thumb parked,
- 13:31Speaker 1: the big appalation, grin. What do you mean by that?
- 13:33Speaker 1: You know the whole Hey bad be here? You are
- 13:36Speaker 1: really being an asshole? You know that? How dare you?
- 13:40Speaker 5: No?
- 13:40Speaker 1: Mary? You really are? Margaret? Yes you are?
- 13:42Speaker 4: Excuse me?
- 13:42Speaker 1: Are you on, Mike? No, I'm not what are you
- 13:45Speaker 1: talking about? I'm saying you're being a real asshole about this.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I'm not trying to lord it over anybody. I'm very
- 13:50Speaker 1: very I'm very grateful and excited to be in this play.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I'm not trying to you say. I'm strolling in with
- 13:55Speaker 1: my thumb parked with a big appellation. Grin, Phil, You're
- 13:58Speaker 1: strolling in thumb park Appalachian grin. The snuff tin in
- 14:02Speaker 1: your upper pocket, small pint of mash whiskey in your
- 14:04Speaker 1: left back pocket, your thumbs and your belt loops, sandals
- 14:07Speaker 1: made out of truck tires, the big grin showing one
- 14:10Speaker 1: tooth missing, and breath that would melt the paint off
- 14:12Speaker 1: a cyber truck. And you're trying to tell me that
- 14:16Speaker 1: you belong on that stage. I do believe I belong
- 14:19Speaker 1: in that stage market every bit as much as you
- 14:20Speaker 1: belong to that stage. And you to come in here
- 14:22Speaker 1: under the pretense of interviewing me and wanting to rip
- 14:25Speaker 1: me a new ass, that's exactly what you're doing, Margaret.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Do you mind, General, we're on the air right now.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Do you mind we're on the air right now. Cut
- 14:33Speaker 1: all this out? He's mean, and so thank you very much, Phil.
- 14:36Speaker 1: This has been very very interesting. I wish you all
- 14:39Speaker 1: the success in the world. I know you'll do well.
- 14:42Speaker 1: You'll do as well as you can. And for those
- 14:44Speaker 1: of us that have much much more experience on the
- 14:47Speaker 1: boards in and around Broadway, of course, we all you know,
- 14:52Speaker 1: come on over to my house or whatever. Call me
- 14:54Speaker 1: up if you're in a panic and you need advice,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and I'll be happy to give it to you. I
- 14:58Speaker 1: certainly will. Margaret. That's it. Huh yeah, you're not gonna
- 15:03Speaker 1: not gonna what bitch it me for rollback? So thank
- 15:07Speaker 1: you very much. Okay, that's uh yeah.
- 15:12Speaker 2: This has been one on one with Margaret Gray as
- 15:15Speaker 2: she interviews Phil Henry on his forthcoming appearance off Broadway
- 15:20Speaker 2: in tom Elpers.
- 15:21Speaker 1: The pitch Everything too.
- 15:24Speaker 2: My name is Stule Weeden, and clean that shut up
- 15:29Speaker 2: off the floor.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Are you talking to me? Yes? I was announcing are
- 15:34Speaker 1: you done? Yes? Pick all let up? Oh Margaret, you
- 15:40Speaker 1: know that this is all going out, cut this all out?
- 15:43Speaker 1: But and I'm Stul Weeban did.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Your last name change?
- 15:51Speaker 1: The World Famous Phil Henry Show will be right back.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Coming up next is Bob Grain? Is he going to
- 15:57Speaker 1: finally do away with Bob Grain's masons and return to
- 16:00Speaker 1: the Fraser Fruits brand? And I said Fraser Fruits. I
- 16:04Speaker 1: met to say Fraser. I've met to say Fraser Foods. No,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I meant to save Fraser Foods. The backstage pass the

- 17:16Speaker 1: meets and Greens tonight. I love this song. You liked this, Margaret? Yes,
- 17:19Speaker 1: I do listen to this, dude, do dude.
- 17:27Speaker 4: You're in a better mood now, Dude.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Are you talking to me? Old man?
- 17:31Speaker 5: Yes? You were.
- 17:32Speaker 1: You were kind of in a follow mood there, Margaret.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I'm fine. You know something, I test you chumps every
- 17:37Speaker 1: now and again, and you always come up wanting I
- 17:39Speaker 1: try to see if there's any manhood there. Just went,
- 17:42Speaker 1: but I know I did. Just pissed me off. Bob
- 17:46Speaker 1: Green joining us now, and uh, Bob, you're actually at
- 17:49Speaker 1: the little strip of.
- 17:50Speaker 5: The East Bay, right, Yeah, yeah, Phil. I was invited
- 17:53Speaker 5: here by Dan Wheeler to see his wife perform. And
- 17:57Speaker 5: it's been a very very difficult week for a bit
- 17:59Speaker 5: of difficult a couple of years. Right there, Dan, she's
- 18:01Speaker 5: coming on. Who are you talking about? I got Phil Henry?
- 18:05Speaker 5: Wrap it up?
- 18:06Speaker 1: Would you tell him that you were doing an interview
- 18:09Speaker 1: with me?
- 18:09Speaker 5: I'm doing an interview with Phil Henry. Shut up. I
- 18:13Speaker 5: gotta move out of here.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Okay, you know, let me talk to Dean for a minute.
- 18:17Speaker 5: It's nice to talk to you.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, Dean, I'm interviewing Bob. You don't need to
- 18:21Speaker 1: be rude about it.
- 18:22Speaker 5: All right? Here, yeah, baby, somebody way, Phil, Yeah, I'm here.
- 18:27Speaker 5: I'll have to keep my voice down, but yeah, I'm
- 18:30Speaker 5: here at the Little Shrimp. Dean invited me up. It's
- 18:32Speaker 5: been a very, very very stressful week.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Well tell me what's going on.
- 18:35Speaker 5: What's going on is this? We heard the replay that
- 18:38Speaker 5: you did earlier this week between myself and Ted Bell
- 18:41Speaker 5: and my Flannagan and all of the intricacies of trying
- 18:44Speaker 5: to advertise and coordinate business. And it brought back so
- 18:47Speaker 5: many bad memories. It brought back memories of the whole
- 18:51Speaker 5: I'm going to deliver a load of meat to you,
- 18:52Speaker 5: and it brought back the memories of my Flannaga and
- 18:55Speaker 5: try to muscle me. And I got to tell you, Phil,
- 18:58Speaker 5: my decision is such that it's gonna shut up. Would
- 19:02Speaker 5: you just tell me to shut up? Oh?
- 19:09Speaker 1: What happened? I just cut it off? Why because it
- 19:11Speaker 1: sounds like there was going to be a fight. Put
- 19:13Speaker 1: it back up there, sir?
- 19:16Speaker 5: Fuck, you're gonna put your hands on me? How kick
- 19:24Speaker 5: my balls? All right?
- 19:26Speaker 1: I can see you guys are not ready for me
- 19:27Speaker 1: to interview you.
- 19:28Speaker 5: No, no, I'm fine. Hey, Phil, is his dean? I asked,
- 19:33Speaker 5: I'm asking the guy is shut up while my wife
- 19:35Speaker 5: is singing. I'm gonna walk outside, okay, anyway, Phil, I'm
- 19:40Speaker 5: out to marry in the Uh there, you want to
- 19:44Speaker 5: shut up? Hold on for a minute, you say something
- 19:47Speaker 5: to me? No, you know now, I'm gonna walk back
- 19:50Speaker 5: into the club. Yeah, yeah, yeah, baby, shut up? Shut up?
- 19:57Speaker 1: All right, I'm gonna hang this phone up, Bob.
- 19:59Speaker 5: All right, I'm gonna anyway. As I was saying to you, Phil,
- 20:03Speaker 5: go back inside, okay, not a go back inside?
- 20:08Speaker 1: What are you doing there? Man?
- 20:09Speaker 5: I was invited here by Dean Wheeler to hear his
- 20:11Speaker 5: wife and to relax after this week of hell that
- 20:14Speaker 5: I've had. Only to walk in here have this guy
- 20:16Speaker 5: throw a punch at me.
- 20:17Speaker 1: You're kidding.
- 20:18Speaker 5: No, I'm talking to you, all right, I'm right, all right,
- 20:20Speaker 5: I'll shut up anyway. Phil, it's been a bad way.
- 20:23Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about that and try not to
- 20:26Speaker 1: engage Dean. So you had a week where you were
- 20:29Speaker 1: listening to this replay? We did.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Yeah, we heard the replay and I talked to set Foley,
- 20:34Speaker 5: who's one of my partners. I said, you know this
- 20:37Speaker 5: is if ever, I feel like a baboon sitting in
- 20:40Speaker 5: a cage, peeling banana after banana and smiling.
- 20:44Speaker 1: What did you saying?
- 20:44Speaker 5: He said? I don't blame you, because what happened is this, Phil,
- 20:50Speaker 5: In trying to start a gourmet, a specialty grocery, I
- 20:55Speaker 5: wind up looking like my fan against Cat, just standing
- 20:57Speaker 5: and going ee, waiting for a bull of milk.
- 21:00Speaker 1: All right, so what's the upshot in this?
- 21:03Speaker 5: Well, the upshot is this. I've asked Miles if he
- 21:05Speaker 5: wouldn't be willing to let me buy the brand back
- 21:08Speaker 5: from him. I want to buy the Fraser Foods brand back.
- 21:11Speaker 1: That sounds like a great idea. And who is that
- 21:13Speaker 1: General Shaw?
- 21:14Speaker 5: Do you mind?
- 21:15Speaker 1: Everybody? Let me just talk to him. Dad, Damn, that's
- 21:18Speaker 1: the problem with you tonight. I got no problem. You
- 21:20Speaker 1: guys are butting in.
- 21:21Speaker 5: I want to if you don't mind, go ahead. What
- 21:24Speaker 5: I want to do, Phil is get the Fraser Foods
- 21:26Speaker 5: brand back.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I think everybody would love that, okay, And.
- 21:30Speaker 5: Get rid of Bob Greens meats and greens, get rid
- 21:33Speaker 5: of meat, Bob's meat. And I you know, as far
- 21:35Speaker 5: as I'm concerned, I don't need to be in business
- 21:38Speaker 5: with Ted Bell. I don't have to deliver a load
- 21:41Speaker 5: of meat to him. He doesn't have to take my load,
- 21:43Speaker 5: and my Flannagan doesn't have to be a part of
- 21:45Speaker 5: the two of us. Shove it a load of meat.
- 21:47Speaker 1: So you're all done with that kind of ridiculous competing advertising.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, if I can get this back now, we.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Got my flanning gun on the other line. I know
- 21:56Speaker 1: you wanted to talk to him. Absolutely, Okay, but go ahead, Yeah,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I'm splinning.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Go ahead now, am I planning you to field?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Okay? Bob Green's on with you?
- 22:05Speaker 5: My business that Bob Green. Yes, Bob references the other night.
- 22:10Speaker 5: I'll give it to you one more time. Here. I'm
- 22:12Speaker 5: on with the Phil Henry Show, and a lot of
- 22:14Speaker 5: our customers are listening, a lot of Phil's fans. I
- 22:17Speaker 5: would like to propose re assuming the Fraser Foods brand
- 22:22Speaker 5: for a I hope will be a satisfactory monetary exchange
- 22:26Speaker 5: with you, and you don't have to be irresponsible for
- 22:30Speaker 5: actually running a grocery brand. You can go back to
- 22:33Speaker 5: what you do best when I think everybody thinks you
- 22:35Speaker 5: do best, and that is providing wholesale product for the
- 22:40Speaker 5: grocery store as well as for Bell's restaurant. I say,
- 22:44Speaker 5: an interesting proposal, and then I realized it just came
- 22:49Speaker 5: heart Only he is in the show the other night, right, Yeah,
- 22:51Speaker 5: Phil repeated that show that we did last year. Well,
- 22:54Speaker 5: and what about Bob Greens Meet and Green? Well, Bob
- 22:57Speaker 5: Greens meets and Greens, which is a you never did
- 23:00Speaker 5: get that, right, I don't know it's Bob Green was
- 23:03Speaker 5: again Bob Greens meets and Greens? All right, are you
- 23:06Speaker 5: giving that up? Now? What we would do is we
- 23:08Speaker 5: would further incorporate that in the Fraser Foods and just
- 23:11Speaker 5: make it a small boutique store that would have the
- 23:16Speaker 5: Fraser Foods brand. So it would be Fraser Foods Junior
- 23:19Speaker 5: or something like that. I haven't decided, but it would
- 23:22Speaker 5: be a separate store. All right, So you're expanding then,
- 23:25Speaker 5: I suppose, yeah, we would be expanding by one store,
- 23:28Speaker 5: but I don't see it that way. But what I'd
- 23:31Speaker 5: like to propose is that we all go ahead and
- 23:33Speaker 5: I'll trade you straight up Fraser Foods, the Fraser Foods brand,
- 23:39Speaker 5: which includes an a franchise or is across the southeast
- 23:43Speaker 5: of Southwest straight up trade plus cash plus cash. All right,
- 23:49Speaker 5: all right for the Bob Greens for meats and greens
- 23:53Speaker 5: there in Anaheim. So you want that store, Yes, I do, Yes,
- 23:56Speaker 5: I do yes, because I have an idea of something
- 23:58Speaker 5: a little bit more broad, something a little bit more
- 24:01Speaker 5: youth oriented, My Flannagan's Meat Holster. Now the meathole you
- 24:05Speaker 5: know a meat hoolster is don't you? No, I don't.
- 24:08Speaker 1: It doesn't sound that sounds kind of a dope.
- 24:10Speaker 5: Yeah, it sounds rather adupt. No it's not it. It's
- 24:13Speaker 5: my Flannagan's meat Holster. This is where you stick your meat. Okay,
- 24:17Speaker 5: So it would be a meat locker, Yes, it would
- 24:20Speaker 5: be a meat locker where you buy your size of
- 24:22Speaker 5: beef for me and then I will store them for you.
- 24:26Speaker 5: So you buy the sides of beef, you buy the meat,
- 24:29Speaker 5: you buy the folkshops, you buy whatever is you gonna buy,
- 24:32Speaker 5: and then you store them at at my Flannagan's Meat Holster.
- 24:37Speaker 5: Now there's a photograph that you were using for Meats
- 24:41Speaker 5: and Greens. It was you with your mouth open, and
- 24:44Speaker 5: I wanted to know if I could buy that brand
- 24:47Speaker 5: from you. I want to buy what I wanted to
- 24:49Speaker 5: buy that photograph of you and use it, assume the
- 24:51Speaker 5: writs a copyright to it. You're there with your mouth open, Yeah,
- 24:55Speaker 5: I got my mouth open, and the store is called
- 24:57Speaker 5: my Flannagan's Meat Holster. Yes, and what do you suppose
- 25:00Speaker 5: the meat holster is my mouth? You know something? Fail?
- 25:03Speaker 1: Hold on, gentlemen, No, no, no.
- 25:05Speaker 5: No, that's gonna say you heard a meat holster and
- 25:07Speaker 5: I'm there going, oh, that's exactly what you're saying. No,
- 25:11Speaker 5: I'm not saying that the photograph suited what it was.
- 25:14Speaker 5: We wanted to do a right.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Hold on, gentlemen, what did you want to do with
- 25:16Speaker 1: the photograph for mister Flanagan. You got Bob Green's mouth up,
- 25:19Speaker 1: and what were you going to do with it?
- 25:20Speaker 5: Well? What I was going to do with there be
- 25:22Speaker 5: a fork with a piece of meat being fed into
- 25:25Speaker 5: Buff's mouth. And the reason why I wanted to use
- 25:27Speaker 5: Bob's photograph is there's a bit of a continuum there.
- 25:30Speaker 5: People know Bob Green for his Great Frasier Foods, a
- 25:34Speaker 5: grocery chain. People know Bob Green for his meats and
- 25:37Speaker 5: greens and the meats that what he delivered to Ted
- 25:40Speaker 5: Bell fresh and pipeing hot that Ted Bell took with
- 25:43Speaker 5: a smile on his face. You know, we get it already. Okay,
- 25:47Speaker 5: So that photograph of you going, what was that a
- 25:50Speaker 5: photograph of I was singing? You were singing? Yeah, it
- 25:54Speaker 5: was when we had a theme song, Bob Greens, Bou
- 25:57Speaker 5: Bob Greens, meats and greens. That was me going blah
- 26:00Speaker 5: bla blah, and that's my mouth open. Well, it was
- 26:02Speaker 5: perfect to have a hand with a fork on it
- 26:05Speaker 5: and a piece of a big thicket piece of steak
- 26:08Speaker 5: going into the above. See so, and it would be
- 26:12Speaker 5: my Flanagan's meat holster. Yeah. The whole thing with meat
- 26:15Speaker 5: holster is my mouth is a holster for someone's meat. Well, yes,
- 26:20Speaker 5: it's a holster for my meat, you know. Oh okay,
- 26:24Speaker 5: sure I.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Want to do that all right, mister Flanagan. Is this
- 26:26Speaker 1: some kind of a juvenile insult, No, sir.
- 26:29Speaker 5: It's not Miles Flannagan's meat holsters. That's where you store
- 26:34Speaker 5: your meat. And here's Bob Green, who is known throughout
- 26:37Speaker 5: south southern California for his great grocery chain and the
- 26:41Speaker 5: great meats in Green store. Here he is with his
- 26:44Speaker 5: mouth opened about ready to take me my flanagans meat.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Don't you understand it. You guys, this sounds insulting. This
- 26:51Speaker 1: is the very thing that we've been trying to trying
- 26:52Speaker 1: to avoid us, the thing that Bob wasn't happy with.
- 26:55Speaker 5: You got me with my mouth open, going ah, and
- 26:58Speaker 5: you're feeding me your meat. It's it's the meat. Oh man.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Swear to god, you guys are such a fucking dish Okay, yeah,
- 27:08Speaker 5: see that's what I mean that that guy is a
- 27:14Speaker 5: nice one.
- 27:14Speaker 1: What do you mean nice one? How did that happen? Bud?
- 27:17Speaker 4: That's what he said.
- 27:18Speaker 1: He said he wanted to assume the Fraser Foods brand
- 27:22Speaker 1: and hes and Miles Flanning had said, fine with me,
- 27:24Speaker 1: and I want to turn into meat holster. And he's
- 27:26Speaker 1: got Bob with his mouth open. And these guys just
- 27:28Speaker 1: they they keep they keep right on being children, don't
- 27:31Speaker 1: they right on being kids? Well, it sounded like they
- 27:33Speaker 1: had a deal worked out until Flannagan kind of let it,
- 27:36Speaker 1: you know, he kind of gave it away. That's what
- 27:38Speaker 1: he wants to do. Humiliate Bob. He does, he does,
- 27:40Speaker 1: and I don't know why. I think it's because Bob
- 27:43Speaker 1: does better business than him. What is that guy's what
- 27:45Speaker 1: is that Flannagan guy's business anyway, he is a wholesaler,
- 27:48Speaker 1: and mister Green is the retailer, and of course Ted
- 27:51Speaker 1: Bell is a guy that you know sells the steaks.
- 27:54Speaker 1: But Bob Green was doing was wholesale and the meat
- 27:56Speaker 1: after Ted Bell saying wholesale, and I deliver the meat directly.
- 28:00Speaker 1: You yeah, I know, and I know the problems that
- 28:02Speaker 1: that caused. Anyway, what Mike Flanagan, mister Flanagan, Yes.
- 28:07Speaker 5: All right, fell listen, I just want to be clear.
- 28:08Speaker 5: I did not come on here to try and try
- 28:11Speaker 5: and disrupt your program. When I said Bob Green's meat.
- 28:14Speaker 5: When I say it's Miles Fan against meat holster, I
- 28:17Speaker 5: mean that's where you holster your meat like you're holster
- 28:19Speaker 5: a gun.
- 28:20Speaker 1: I understand that.
- 28:21Speaker 5: All right, Well, how's that show selling? When I got
- 28:23Speaker 5: Bob Green with his mouth open taking Miles Fan against meat.
- 28:27Speaker 1: You got you don't get the double on tundry, Of
- 28:28Speaker 1: course you do. That's the whole reason why you've started
- 28:31Speaker 1: in with this thing. Bob Green takes your meat, he's
- 28:33Speaker 1: your meat holster.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Well, all right, look, I don't mean that. I mean
- 28:38Speaker 5: that in a sense, in the business sense, Okay, Bob
- 28:40Speaker 5: Green is always as long as i've known Bob, he's
- 28:43Speaker 5: been a great business fan. But when it comes to
- 28:45Speaker 5: competing with me, he's always been my meat holster. Just
- 28:49Speaker 5: open up, Bob, because you're about ready to say, Bob
- 28:51Speaker 5: play his meat. You see what I'm saying. So, and
- 28:53Speaker 5: that's the why it's been. I've always been better at
- 28:55Speaker 5: business in him. But that doesn't mean that I want
- 28:58Speaker 5: him to fail.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Oh no, not at all, not at all. You just
- 29:01Speaker 1: you just want to ridicule the man.
- 29:03Speaker 5: What, Bud, Yeah, Bob, let me tell you something, Miles, Okay,
- 29:06Speaker 5: today I'm your meat holster. Oh man, I'm just saying,
- 29:11Speaker 5: Bob that everyone knows you as the guy with you
- 29:14Speaker 5: had your mouth open, going ah, So why not I
- 29:16Speaker 5: drop my beat in there? Yeah? Why not drop your
- 29:18Speaker 5: meat in there? Why don't you call it, Bob? What
- 29:23Speaker 5: do you call it, Miles Flannagan's meat grinder? Then that's
- 29:26Speaker 5: my meat? What's that supposed to mean? Go ahead, drop
- 29:29Speaker 5: your meat in the meat grinder. See what happens. You'll
- 29:31Speaker 5: be you know what? There? I see a picture there
- 29:33Speaker 5: of you, my mouth open, you dropping your meat in
- 29:35Speaker 5: and then the next frame is a guy going just
- 29:40Speaker 5: like that.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Oh my god, those people are out of their minds.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I don't want them. I don't want them in this
- 29:45Speaker 1: program ever again, Margaret, not ever again, or I won't participate.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Bob Green, what are you laughing at? I don't know,
- 29:55Speaker 1: it's just the whole screaming thing. Thanks for joining us, folks.
- 30:00Speaker 1: So I guess well, I'll see you. Well, I'll tell
- 30:02Speaker 1: you more about the New York trip for the Pitch
- 30:06Speaker 1: and we'll be there for a couple of months of
- 30:08Speaker 1: being New York for a couple of months. Will tell
- 30:09Speaker 1: you all about that, and uh, we'll find out what
- 30:12Speaker 1: happens to Bob's meat grinder a meat holster. World Famous
