Ogden’s residents are still reeling from weekend storms that tore through the city—downed trees, power lines, and debris everywhere. One homeowner had his back door ripped off by downdrafts, and crews have been hauling branches to the dump nonstop. Fire officials fielded 80-100 calls in one day, far above their normal 65-75. A crew nearly got electrocuted when they mistook a sparking line for a communication wire.
