- 0:00Speaker 1: Thanks. Man, Wow, that'd be even better.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I guess if I was eighteen, Oh my goodness, I'd
- 0:04Speaker 2: be at the peak of my powers with that.
- 0:06Speaker 1: But yeah, it was. It was a great day to.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Do it, cool, wasn't too hot, and I was just
- 0:12Speaker 2: happy that I was able to finish and be around
- 0:14Speaker 2: where I wanted to be time wise, because I've been
- 0:17Speaker 2: doing I've been running Seward for the last I would
- 0:20Speaker 2: say month, preparing for it, running that, and I've been
- 0:23Speaker 2: coming in at around sixteen fifty all the way to
- 0:26Speaker 2: seventeen thirty, just doing that full lap. So I'm like, okay,
- 0:30Speaker 2: add another mile to it and I should be good.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I have a good base.
- 0:34Speaker 2: So it was a challenge, but I did it and
- 0:37Speaker 2: it was fun. It was twenty two, twenty three old,
- 0:43Speaker 2: twenty three old two, so yeah, it was a good
- 0:45Speaker 2: time for me. Like I said, I've been running seward consistently,
- 0:49Speaker 2: just trying to figure it out because running at seward
- 0:52Speaker 2: is two point two miles. So I finished that in
- 0:54Speaker 2: sixteen fifty three. You do the extra math seven minute,
- 0:58Speaker 2: seven minutes and thirty seconds pero, you put yourself in
- 1:01Speaker 2: that twenty one area.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Obviously, that last mile was a little more of a challenge.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I slowed down a little bit, but to be able
- 1:07Speaker 2: to just do my first five k at thirty three
- 1:09Speaker 2: and have a good time for myself, I was really
- 1:12Speaker 2: happy with it.
- 1:13Speaker 1: So it was it was fun out there and did
- 1:14Speaker 1: with my wife.
- 1:15Speaker 2: She did her things, she got her pr so we
- 1:17Speaker 2: both had a good weekend and that in that regard
- 1:19Speaker 2: of racing and just doing my first five k, looking
- 1:21Speaker 2: forward to doing more and then hopefully in the next
- 1:23Speaker 2: year doing a big time doing a marathon.
- 1:26Speaker 1: So yeah, you get the steps. Though we're crawling right now,
- 1:29Speaker 1: you know, hopefully next I'll be walking, So we'll see
- 1:31Speaker 1: how it goes.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Four nine, four to five on Koma Dodge text Igne
- 1:34Speaker 3: Hook got Chris with your recommendations for his next five K,
- 1:38Speaker 3: ten K, twelve k, what his progression should be to
- 1:41Speaker 3: get to his goal for his first marathon thirty three
- 1:44Speaker 3: years old.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I'm sure a lot of you might have been actually
- 1:46Speaker 2: at the race and did it yourself.
- 1:47Speaker 3: It was a long resting way into Coma. Yep, what's
- 1:50Speaker 3: the name of the race. It was the Ghost Runk
- 1:53Speaker 3: Tacoma Ghost Run.
- 1:54Speaker 1: There you go, Yep.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I've done the Sound of Narrows, which I think they
- 1:57Speaker 3: still have three points of time. We aren't sure they do.
- 1:59Speaker 3: That's fine, everybody. It's hilly, but it's fun. Oh god,
- 2:02Speaker 3: at least the other day you were flat down. Yes, yes,
- 2:05Speaker 3: because I remember I ran in my neighborhood. I tried
- 2:07Speaker 3: to run for my where I stay all the way
- 2:10Speaker 3: to West Seattle Stadium.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 2: And if you have been to West Seattle, they have
- 2:14Speaker 2: a couple of hills. Yeah, erectly, and boy that first
- 2:17Speaker 2: time I made it. That second hell, I said I'm done,
- 2:19Speaker 2: I'm walking home, and I just ended up walking home.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It was a great day. I was. I couldn't do it.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Too many hills.
- 2:24Speaker 2: So the fact that you were able to do a
- 2:25Speaker 2: run on hills, two thumbs up to you, Greg Man.
- 2:28Speaker 1: It well.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Halfs off to you, sir. First race at thirty three. Yeah,
- 2:32Speaker 3: doing it with your wife, that's fun, smart man. You know,
- 2:35Speaker 3: happy wife, happy what happy life man? Twenty years of marriage.
- 2:40Speaker 3: You'll catch you on eventually, you know.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Hey, one year and a couple of months in, we're
- 2:43Speaker 1: on our way. Is it true that Ryan Bliss is
- 2:46Speaker 1: coming back? You know? Drum roll please boo? Is that true?
- 2:51Speaker 1: Let me let me check the Mariners see if they
- 2:54Speaker 1: someone on the text sign is saying Ryan Greg you
- 2:56Speaker 1: got to know Ryan Bliss is back. Well, that would mean.
- 3:00Speaker 3: The Mariners might have a roster move involving Cayl Rawley,
- 3:02Speaker 3: who had an MRI on his general soreness in his
- 3:05Speaker 3: side in his oblique area. That wouldn't seem to be
- 3:09Speaker 3: Johnny Pearlton is already up. That wouldn't seem to be
- 3:12Speaker 3: the move. Marin's PR has not posted anything yet. Okay,
- 3:15Speaker 3: so all right, text line, hook us up, tell us
- 3:17Speaker 3: where you're getting information, and two six is Greg with
- 3:22Speaker 3: two exclamation points.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Bliss is back of the Agua roster and.
- 3:25Speaker 3: We're run Blith please, Hey, that'd be cool if that's
- 3:28Speaker 3: indeed the case. Great weekend, it was northwest and this
- 3:33Speaker 3: type of weather is unbelievable. I heard Chuck talking a
- 3:35Speaker 3: little bit less segment that's twenty minutes or so about
- 3:39Speaker 3: the spring gave it. Of all the things you could
- 3:41Speaker 3: do on a Friday night when it's seventy five degrees,
- 3:44Speaker 3: the spring game on Montlake at six thirty is probably
- 3:46Speaker 3: at the bottom of that. Just to get there is impossible. It,
- 3:52Speaker 3: I mean, I get I don't know what the reasoning
- 3:55Speaker 3: that lou was six thirty on a Friday. Used to
- 3:57Speaker 3: be on Saturday afternoon, which in itself is not easy
- 3:59Speaker 3: to get around on the spring day in Seattle these days,
- 4:01Speaker 3: especially with I five and whatnot. But and this ain't
- 4:06Speaker 3: the SEC man, this ain't Alabama. This as Mississippi. There's
- 4:11Speaker 3: stuff to do here beside football. It's true in high school,
- 4:15Speaker 3: it's true in college. It's true at the professional level.
- 4:17Speaker 3: At some point there's stuff, especially when it's seventy five
- 4:20Speaker 3: and sunny and we've been getting rained on in darkness
- 4:22Speaker 3: for six months. So it's hard to fault Husky fans
- 4:26Speaker 3: for that. I can't not to mention it's not like
- 4:28Speaker 3: Husky Football's, let's be honest, not exactly ripped it up lately.
- 4:32Speaker 3: So anyway, I don't even know how many people were
- 4:34Speaker 3: out there, but the Winnimer Cup was a lot better. Man,
- 4:38Speaker 3: there are a lot of people out there at the Cut.
- 4:40Speaker 3: If you haven't gone, it's free. It's on the Montley Cut.
- 4:42Speaker 3: It's the first Saturday of May, and they bring world
- 4:44Speaker 3: class competition.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Like we talked about last week.
- 4:46Speaker 3: It was the Olympic champion and World Championship runner up
- 4:51Speaker 3: Great Britain men and women's teams that were on the
- 4:54Speaker 3: cut on Saturday and the closest finish ever in the
- 4:57Speaker 3: dub Men won.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Better than Watch and the Mariners are Chris. I mean, yeah,
- 5:02Speaker 2: where do you want to start? Yeah, you have let's see.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Oh we talked about flags. We were a yellow flag. Yeah,
- 5:09Speaker 2: there's a lot of red flags in the in the
- 5:10Speaker 2: series versus the Kensita.
- 5:11Speaker 3: There were individual red flags for sure, such as Randy
- 5:14Speaker 3: or Rose Arena losing track of the count and running
- 5:18Speaker 3: on two and two with two outs in the bases loaded,
- 5:20Speaker 3: bone headed. Okay, that's incredibly bad. Then under his munos,
- 5:26Speaker 3: your all star closer balked the tying run into second
- 5:29Speaker 3: base late in the game the scoring position.
- 5:32Speaker 1: You just can't do that.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Hilio Rodriguez is Mitch. We're all talking about one game
- 5:37Speaker 3: Saturday night. Hilia Rodriguez is misplaying centerfield. That guy's scoring.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Even if Rodriguez comes up cleanly with that ball and
- 5:44Speaker 3: left center field pretty deep left center field. So I'm
- 5:47Speaker 3: watching the highlight of it now. So yeah, I was
- 5:49Speaker 3: a croquet wicked job right between the legs. But he's scoring, right,
- 5:53Speaker 3: I mean, that's I think he's scoring. Yeah, I mean
- 5:56Speaker 3: the damage will have been done there. With or without that,
- 6:01Speaker 3: they get forty thousand in the park, forty thousand plus
- 6:03Speaker 3: that night for Randy Johnson's retirement ceremony, and then that happened,
- 6:06Speaker 3: a really ugly loss, one of the uglier ones of
- 6:09Speaker 3: many ugly this so far this season.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So here they are sixteen to nineteen.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Still I still say the flags are yellow, Chris, because
- 6:19Speaker 3: it's two games over five hundred for first place. The
- 6:21Speaker 3: A's are eighteen and sixteen or whatever it is, so
- 6:24Speaker 3: what are they? I know you're not really looking at
- 6:26Speaker 3: standings this time of year. Gary Hill talked about it
- 6:28Speaker 3: with us last year, last week the Mariners broadcaster, but no,
- 6:32Speaker 3: we going anywhere in that division. Houston's terrible. They're pitching
- 6:35Speaker 3: staff is decimated. Texas is still Texas with pitching wise,
- 6:40Speaker 3: the Angels are having all kinds of issues getting going,
- 6:44Speaker 3: and the Athletics are at eighteen and sixteen or whatever
- 6:47Speaker 3: it is, two games over five hundred in first place.
- 6:50Speaker 3: We keep sayanta, Chris, the Mariners are five or six
- 6:53Speaker 3: game winning streak. If I'm being in first place.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I just want that winning stick to happen sooner than later,
- 6:58Speaker 2: just because I know how fans get out here? It's
- 7:01Speaker 2: the weather's getting nice. Can we can the Mariners get
- 7:04Speaker 2: a rally going here and against the Royals, who were
- 7:06Speaker 2: a struggling team last year, are not that same team
- 7:09Speaker 2: has seen.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Well they were at the bottom of the lead. Remember
- 7:11Speaker 1: I told you they were worse than.
- 7:12Speaker 3: The mirror bad until they were bad. They were eight
- 7:16Speaker 3: and nineteen or whatever last week. Yeah, I mean, and
- 7:21Speaker 3: now color always hurting and that's an issue, and it's
- 7:24Speaker 3: found out information sooner than later.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yeah, if we do, we'll let you know.
- 7:27Speaker 3: But they're waiting results of an MRI test after Dan
- 7:31Speaker 3: Wilson over the weekend just hummada humma when people were
- 7:34Speaker 3: asking why he didn't play. Oh, he's got general soreness,
- 7:38Speaker 3: but he had imaging too. You know, I get I
- 7:40Speaker 3: have general sons getting out of bed at my age,
- 7:43Speaker 3: and I don't go get MRIs for it. So there's
- 7:45Speaker 3: obviously something going on there more than just general sotas.
- 7:49Speaker 3: And then Johnny Parul too, the catcher comes up to
- 7:51Speaker 3: join Mitch Carver. So there's something there obviously for the
- 7:56Speaker 3: imaging tests and a waiting word from the Mariners on
- 7:59Speaker 3: what that there might be. If it's an injured list
- 8:02Speaker 3: stint for perhaps ten days, maybe it's on the minimum
- 8:05Speaker 3: side of ten days, and just calms it down for
- 8:07Speaker 3: a week or so.
- 8:08Speaker 2: And that's gonna be a tough blow, man, But that's
- 8:10Speaker 2: part of baseball.
- 8:12Speaker 1: That's how it goes. Man.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Players are gonna get hurt, but we need the marriage
- 8:16Speaker 2: other players to step up. Julio has already been asked
- 8:19Speaker 2: to do his job, and now it's gonna be even heightened.
- 8:21Speaker 2: If indeed he's going to miss a week and a half,
- 8:24Speaker 2: whatever the case may be. You're hoping not, but that's baseball.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Players get banged up. It's a long season. Some players
- 8:30Speaker 2: play through it, but this one is pretty pretty serious.
- 8:32Speaker 2: So you would hope that he gets the rest he
- 8:34Speaker 2: needs and he's able to come back if it is serious,
- 8:36Speaker 2: and he can be a viable asset to this team
- 8:39Speaker 2: that is looking to make a deep playoff run. So
- 8:41Speaker 2: I think Julio has to get a rolling at some point,
- 8:44Speaker 2: and you're I guess not rolling.
- 8:45Speaker 1: It's consistent.
- 8:47Speaker 3: March twenty sixth, on opening night, I went to the yard.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I wrote a story for the News Tribune, and I
- 8:53Speaker 3: wrote the headline up is a most unique Mariners opener, fans, players,
- 8:56Speaker 3: even the owner talking World Series. On that day, John
- 9:01Speaker 3: Stanton went on this radio station with Dave Softy Maller
- 9:04Speaker 3: and Dick Fane, the CEO of the Mariners.
- 9:07Speaker 1: And he said he mentioned World Series, but he had
- 9:11Speaker 1: a qualifier. He said, health willing. I mean, that's the
- 9:15Speaker 1: injuries being the key. He nailed it.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Of course, we have to stay healthy, Santon told Softy.
- 9:23Speaker 3: But I believe if we stay healthy, this is a
- 9:24Speaker 3: team that should be able to compete for a championship
- 9:27Speaker 3: this year and should be able to win a World
- 9:30Speaker 3: Series this year.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Not we're on the rise or windows opening, none of
- 9:34Speaker 1: that this year.
- 9:36Speaker 3: But he did say we have to stay healthy. They've
- 9:38Speaker 3: already lost a member of their rotation. They've had injuries
- 9:43Speaker 3: to Brandon Donovan, their new leadoff batter that they've gotten
- 9:46Speaker 3: from Saint Louis. They're trying a third base and now
- 9:49Speaker 3: Cay Rowley, your sixty home run guy, Platinum Glove, Goldgug,
- 9:52Speaker 3: Platinum Glove catcher out. He just says he was starting
- 9:56Speaker 3: to heat up member. He had four home runs in
- 9:58Speaker 3: about a six game span last week, and now he's
- 10:01Speaker 3: in He hasn't played the last two games yes, it's
- 10:04Speaker 3: only May fourth. Yes, they have one hundred and twenty
- 10:06Speaker 3: games to go. But to Chris's point, if Kyle Roby's
- 10:09Speaker 3: not gonna be in there, somebody else has to step
- 10:11Speaker 3: up and have a larger sale of the offense than
- 10:14Speaker 3: four singles, which is what they had yesterday against the Royals.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Four singles that was it and a four to one loss.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Four nine, four or five one. How would you fix
- 10:23Speaker 1: the Mariners? Is they're fixing them?
- 10:26Speaker 4: Is it?
- 10:27Speaker 1: More so?
- 10:28Speaker 2: Just you have to be patient? I know that's I
- 10:31Speaker 2: agree with you. I'm I said, like August first, I
- 10:35Speaker 2: hear you. But what fan is going to be like, yeah,
- 10:37Speaker 2: Greg and Chris, that makes sense. Let's just wait, Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 2: you know, continue waiting when this team is struggling.
- 10:41Speaker 1: That makes sense. Three more months of this.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just seeing a pattern, and I understand the
- 10:50Speaker 2: this ideal, that the idea that, yeah, we're not about
- 10:54Speaker 2: to wait and see this team flip flop. I don't
- 10:56Speaker 2: want to do that. Can we get some consistency? Can
- 10:58Speaker 2: this team go out there and win games? Can this
- 10:59Speaker 2: team be better offensively at least like the pitching. I
- 11:03Speaker 2: only got four runs, Okay, that's not a big deal.
- 11:06Speaker 2: It's not like they lost ten to one so offensively.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Can guys get going, like, for real, it's May four?
- 11:14Speaker 2: At what point I know Greg has mentioned, oh, you know,
- 11:17Speaker 2: maybe June.
- 11:17Speaker 1: July, August.
- 11:18Speaker 2: If the division states like this, I mean, I don't
- 11:22Speaker 2: know if it's going to change. I don't think one
- 11:23Speaker 2: of these other teams gets hot, right, I mean, that
- 11:26Speaker 2: can happen, but I would tend to believe that the
- 11:29Speaker 2: Mariner's roster is built more for that, despite they're not
- 11:33Speaker 2: great to start this season. And I'm trying to be
- 11:35Speaker 2: as optimistic but also be real with you guys as
- 11:38Speaker 2: possible in this scenario, just because I do still think
- 11:42Speaker 2: with everything going on, let's just let's throw Kyle right
- 11:46Speaker 2: at the side because he's gonna be out for an injury.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I still think they have a better roster than a
- 11:50Speaker 1: lot of the American League teams, definitely in the West.
- 11:53Speaker 2: So especially in my opinion, this should not be that
- 11:56Speaker 2: big of a deal. But here they are instead of
- 11:58Speaker 2: being I don't know, nineteen and sixteen to the opposite.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Sixteen and nineteen after they just crawled back to five
- 12:05Speaker 3: hundred after a six and one road trip through Saint
- 12:07Speaker 3: Louis and Minnesota. It was their first time Wednesday Thursday
- 12:11Speaker 3: going into Friday's game was the first time at five
- 12:13Speaker 3: hundred since they were two and two.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Let me ask you this, though, Greg, yep, being swept
- 12:17Speaker 2: at home, that is the lineup good enough for you?
- 12:21Speaker 2: Do you think they should find another bat? I know
- 12:26Speaker 2: that's a ways away. Is this just maybe the inconsistencies
- 12:30Speaker 2: of this team in the early season?
- 12:31Speaker 1: Where do you? Yeah?
- 12:33Speaker 3: It is the for sure, the inconsistency of the offense.
- 12:37Speaker 3: The trade market now is really hard. I mean, to
- 12:41Speaker 3: do any moves in May, even the teams that they're terrible,
- 12:44Speaker 3: even the Royals and the Astros and the bottom teams
- 12:48Speaker 3: in the league aren't going to be given up much
- 12:50Speaker 3: in May because you still have to sell tickets and
- 12:52Speaker 3: hot dogs between now and the summer getting rolling. It's
- 12:55Speaker 3: not like July when you start making those type of
- 12:57Speaker 3: deals and oh okay, but you got at least put
- 13:00Speaker 3: some putts in seeds, so you can't be trading away
- 13:02Speaker 3: guys that would help the Mariners immediately in May. It's
- 13:05Speaker 3: very it happens, but it's very rare for that to happen.
- 13:08Speaker 1: It's no doubt.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Brandon Donovan being injured has changed the top of the
- 13:12Speaker 3: lineup and what they want to do.
- 13:13Speaker 1: They wanted to run.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Now it's I mean yesterday, Refsnyder. He's betten one twenty two.
- 13:18Speaker 3: His on base percentage is one ninety six. That's the
- 13:21Speaker 3: guy who's supposed to be the world's greatest hitter against
- 13:24Speaker 3: left handed pitching. One twenty two, one ninety six on base.
- 13:30Speaker 3: So you Rodriguez bad at second yesterday, then Nail. Everyone
- 13:33Speaker 3: moved up when Rowley got injured. Rodriguez is hitting second.
- 13:38Speaker 3: He's up to two sixty eight. By the way, he
- 13:40Speaker 3: was in the one hundreds. About two weeks ago, one
- 13:43Speaker 3: fifty one, he and Raley together were at three hundred.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Remember that. Yeah, that was a nice time, wasn't it.
- 13:48Speaker 4: He's two sixty eight. We talked last week. He hadn't
- 13:51Speaker 4: been in the two fifties, hadn't been into two forties
- 13:54Speaker 4: last year until late June. So and Naylor, who was
- 13:59Speaker 4: also subterranean for a long time, is now two sixteen.
- 14:04Speaker 4: I'm just giving batting averages here. I know, the slugging
- 14:07Speaker 4: and the ops and all.
- 14:08Speaker 3: That is a rose arena right now. Is your cleanup
- 14:11Speaker 3: hitter with Raley out of the lineup. They moved Crawford
- 14:15Speaker 3: up to third fifth yesterday. Cole Young was sixth. He's
- 14:20Speaker 3: been the best, most consistent player and one who's playing
- 14:22Speaker 3: every day. Connor Joe, the four A player, was batting seventh.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Peretta in his Mariner's Day starting debut from Triple A
- 14:31Speaker 3: toa Coma yesterday for catching Raley down was eighth. Leo
- 14:35Speaker 3: reebas ninth as usual. So yeah, they're trying everywhere. I
- 14:40Speaker 3: mean they're not. I shouldn't say everything, but Crawford has
- 14:42Speaker 3: been nine, he's been one, yesterday was five. I'm not
- 14:47Speaker 3: sure with the Brandon Donovan and Raleigh out of the
- 14:49Speaker 3: lineup that the lineup switching is going to be two impactful.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Do you put Julia Rodriz back at the top now
- 14:56Speaker 3: until Brandon Donovan comes back?
- 14:58Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 14:58Speaker 2: Why not the time to try and do things. You're
- 15:02Speaker 2: in the You're not even at the quarter point of
- 15:05Speaker 2: your season. Just give it a stab, see what happens
- 15:08Speaker 2: and go from there. Yeah, to find something right.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Four nine on the comodage tech sign tell us you're
- 15:15Speaker 3: already giving us great suggestions for Chris to read to
- 15:17Speaker 3: way to go next on his five k ten K
- 15:20Speaker 3: marathon adventure. Also, how would you fix the Mariners offensively?
- 15:24Speaker 1: A pairs?
- 15:25Speaker 3: Although the pitching has I mean, hil Luis Castillo has
- 15:29Speaker 3: yet to have a win. Yeah, he's going three right, Yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 3: so I thought he is six thirty three eight. You know,
- 15:35Speaker 3: it'd be nice to get him a dub.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 3: One, So maybe you could trade him down the road whenever. Yeah,
- 15:40Speaker 3: keep hearing.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Not going to be a commodity at ten.
- 15:43Speaker 3: No, you're going to get a couple of rosen bags
- 15:45Speaker 3: for Yeah, that's winless pitcher.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Wow, that's a good point there.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I forgot about the old Castillo failing falling to oh
- 15:52Speaker 2: and three.
- 15:52Speaker 1: That's that's huge.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Well, we'll talk about in today's show, My five takeaways
- 15:57Speaker 3: from Seahawks Roocky Mini camp. I was out there in
- 16:00Speaker 3: the field and a couple things stood out to me,
- 16:01Speaker 3: including Jenarium Price's hands that stories at the News Tribune
- 16:04Speaker 3: dot Com.
- 16:07Speaker 1: He's not gonna be good.
- 16:09Speaker 2: You know what, Go watch some tape see how many
- 16:12Speaker 2: body catches he had.
- 16:14Speaker 1: That was one catch in May in front of somebody's phone.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I saw the same reaction, Chris. That's pretty funny.
- 16:21Speaker 2: That's hilarious, just like I'm sorry, did the ball hit
- 16:23Speaker 2: the ground or something?
- 16:24Speaker 1: Did? Are you?
- 16:26Speaker 2: I'll have to pull up a great video of a
- 16:28Speaker 2: former ye we're talking about catching with your hand versus
- 16:31Speaker 2: your body.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I'll have that for you.
- 16:33Speaker 3: A former NFL Jennerman, former executive, helped build Seattle's first
- 16:36Speaker 3: three Super Bowl teams. You'll hear what he says about
- 16:39Speaker 3: Jenarium price and the versus the third pick in.
- 16:42Speaker 1: The draft, how he compares. We'll talk about that as well.
- 16:46Speaker 3: At eleven o'clock you'll hear from both Stevens the rookie guard,
- 16:49Speaker 3: fifth round pick. They traded one of their picks from
- 16:51Speaker 3: next year a better draft to go get the IOWA
- 16:54Speaker 3: All American guard. You'll hear from Bo Stevens at eleven o'clock.
- 16:57Speaker 3: You're also here from Mike McDonald just after eleven o'clock
- 17:00Speaker 3: on his summation of the rookie mini camp weekend.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Eleven thirty.

- 17:44Speaker 3: I'll have another word next hour for your chance to
- 17:46Speaker 3: be entered on drawing to win one thousand dollars. This weekend,
- 17:50Speaker 3: I was, in addition to be at the Winnamair Cup.
- 17:53Speaker 3: I biked from Winnimre Cup. Just kept on biking from
- 17:56Speaker 3: my house to the cut and this kept on biking
- 17:58Speaker 3: the retin thirty six miles. This was a pretty beautiful
- 18:01Speaker 3: day on Saturday.
- 18:02Speaker 1: To do that.
- 18:03Speaker 3: There's a mini camp for the Seahawks. I have my
- 18:06Speaker 3: five takeaway story of what I got out of the
- 18:08Speaker 3: mini camp, what I saw, learned and heard at the
- 18:10Speaker 3: News Tribune Thenewstribune dot com up right now while you're there,
- 18:13Speaker 3: can subscribe to the News Tribune or ninety nine cents
- 18:16Speaker 3: for first month and read all my coverage there.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I wrote. Jenerian Price catches passes Chris, Yes,
- 18:24Speaker 1: he does. Why is this a big deal?
- 18:26Speaker 3: Well, he was, as we know, the backup to Jeremiah
- 18:29Speaker 3: Love as the lead running backs for Notre Dame. He
- 18:33Speaker 3: Pribace had only two hundred and eighty snaps in his
- 18:36Speaker 3: college career over three seasons total.
- 18:38Speaker 1: On offense.
- 18:39Speaker 3: He was mainly a big play running back six plus
- 18:42Speaker 3: yards per carry, about a dozen touchdowns his final two seasons,
- 18:46Speaker 3: and then one of the nation's best kickoff returners in
- 18:48Speaker 3: college football three kickoff returns for touchdowns two last season,
- 18:51Speaker 3: one against usc But what he didn't do was catch pass.
- 18:54Speaker 3: He only had fifteen Chris over five seasons, fifteen receptions
- 18:57Speaker 3: for Notre Dame over five seasons, and when the Seahawks
- 19:01Speaker 3: drafted him, that's what they We asked, what what do
- 19:04Speaker 3: you need.
- 19:04Speaker 1: To improve on?
- 19:05Speaker 3: He said, the pass game, not just receiving, but also
- 19:08Speaker 3: pass blocking. And we talk a lot about rookies at
- 19:12Speaker 3: the NFL level. They struggle the most new guys in
- 19:14Speaker 3: the NFL at running back to pass block and the
- 19:17Speaker 3: ones that pass blocked best played soonest and play most
- 19:20Speaker 3: as Rookie George Hallaani, for instance, has stuck on the
- 19:22Speaker 3: roster for going on this third season because it was
- 19:24Speaker 3: pass blocking the undrafted rookie running back from Boys of
- 19:27Speaker 3: State a few years ago, and so Price that's the
- 19:30Speaker 3: part of his game that remains something like a curiosity
- 19:32Speaker 3: even to the Seahawks because they haven't seen it much
- 19:34Speaker 3: on game film. So they were force feeding him passes
- 19:37Speaker 3: this weekend. It was dump off passes, check downs, design passes, passes,
- 19:43Speaker 3: and drills with Thomas Hammick, the new running back coach,
- 19:46Speaker 3: a emphasis on that it was conspicuous and because we
- 19:50Speaker 3: were looking for it anyway. And then after the mini
- 19:53Speaker 3: camp was over, Mike McDonald did Seahawks coach said, well,
- 19:56Speaker 3: we were trying to keep him out of traffic, and
- 19:59Speaker 3: that was really what it came down to, is he
- 20:01Speaker 3: didn't want him just running plays and shorts and t
- 20:04Speaker 3: shirts into side of legs and a bunch of bodies
- 20:06Speaker 3: and perhaps running and twisting ankles or doing something. And
- 20:10Speaker 3: so your first round draft pick. They just kept him
- 20:12Speaker 3: out of all the noise, and they spread him out
- 20:14Speaker 3: wide and just threw swing passes and outside routes to
- 20:16Speaker 3: him pretty much the whole camp, and he also just returned.
- 20:22Speaker 3: I noticed one maybe twice returning kickoffs and during special
- 20:26Speaker 3: teams drills, and then that's it.
- 20:27Speaker 1: They shut him down. He didn't do it anymore.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Now.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Of course, they have her sheets shi Heat to do
- 20:31Speaker 3: that for seventeen million dollars a year at the Pro
- 20:33Speaker 3: Bowl level, All Pro a couple of years ago with
- 20:35Speaker 3: the Saints to do that. So that's not his primary
- 20:38Speaker 3: job at all. I know Kenneth Walker's gone. The primary
- 20:40Speaker 3: job is going to be to be the lead running back.
- 20:43Speaker 3: But there was anyway noticeable that he was catching passes,
- 20:47Speaker 3: And as Chris said, somebody put on video social media
- 20:51Speaker 3: of him catching a pass that was caught off his
- 20:53Speaker 3: chest plate.
- 20:54Speaker 1: I did happen to write that down when it happened.
- 20:56Speaker 3: By the way, I wrote caught off his chest plate,
- 20:58Speaker 3: because you normally would like to see you guy catch
- 21:00Speaker 3: with their hands, but.
- 21:02Speaker 1: In traffic, in games with coverage.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Often players will catch it in their chest to your point, Griz,
- 21:07Speaker 3: like you said earlier, so not two. You're not nearly
- 21:10Speaker 3: as alarmed as everybody online getting one catch it.
- 21:13Speaker 2: See JSN make some of the toughest catches us in
- 21:16Speaker 2: his chest and the easiest ones. Do you know what
- 21:19Speaker 2: didn't happen? He didn't drop it? No, so I'll take it.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Randy Moss had a great quote. I don't know if
- 21:25Speaker 2: you guys have seen rand University. M hm, I gotta
- 21:28Speaker 2: find it. But he somewhat alludes to do the ball hit.
- 21:31Speaker 1: The ground exactly? No?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Okay, so you know whether I use my back of
- 21:36Speaker 2: my head, I caught the football?
- 21:38Speaker 1: What else did I notice? Both?
- 21:40Speaker 3: Steven you're gonna hear from him at eleven o'clock. The
- 21:41Speaker 3: rookie right guard. He was right guard on Friday and Saturday.
- 21:45Speaker 3: It was noticeable which side he was on. He started
- 21:48Speaker 3: a left guard for Iowa the last two years on
- 21:50Speaker 3: an All American level. As a sophomore twenty twenty three,
- 21:54Speaker 3: he was the starting left guard for the Hawkeyes when
- 21:57Speaker 3: they drafted, and we asked what size is it gonna
- 21:58Speaker 3: be on and McDonald's huh, he don't want to say much
- 22:01Speaker 3: because he doesn't want to put Anthony Bradford, the starting
- 22:04Speaker 3: right guard, on notice. But Zabel's not dumb, he said
- 22:09Speaker 3: on Friday after practice, we asked about right and left,
- 22:12Speaker 3: right and left, and he was at the on the
- 22:13Speaker 3: right in.
- 22:14Speaker 1: This mini camp.
- 22:15Speaker 3: He said, quote, they obviously have a really good left guard,
- 22:17Speaker 3: so I'm assuming meaning Grey's Abel.
- 22:20Speaker 1: And that's exactly the point.
- 22:21Speaker 3: They didn't trade one of their twelve picks in next
- 22:24Speaker 3: year's draft, which is a better, stronger, deeper draft, to
- 22:27Speaker 3: move into the fifth round on a pick. They didn't
- 22:28Speaker 3: have to go get Bo Stevens, whom they didn't expect
- 22:31Speaker 3: to be there at all American guard for him to
- 22:33Speaker 3: sit behind Gray's Abel for four years because Zabel ain't
- 22:36Speaker 3: going anywhere. Probably passed his rookie deal and they'll resign
- 22:39Speaker 3: him on the pace he's on. So it's logical that
- 22:43Speaker 3: he'll be at right guard because Anthony Bradford's contract ends
- 22:46Speaker 3: after this coming season, and that's where he was to begin.
- 22:51Speaker 3: I asked MacDonald about Stevens being on the right side,
- 22:54Speaker 3: and he smiled and looked at me, and McDonald said,
- 22:56Speaker 3: I knew you're gonna ask me that, Greg. Well, yeah,
- 22:59Speaker 3: that's something of the the only news of the camp.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Bo's on the right side, McDonald said. But we're going
- 23:03Speaker 3: to train him at both spots. We'll see how it goes. Inside.
- 23:05Speaker 3: You need flexibility across on the interior part of your line.
- 23:08Speaker 3: He's played both in his career. Right now he's playing
- 23:11Speaker 3: right guard, but we'll be training him at right and
- 23:12Speaker 3: left again. He's not about to put Anthony Bradford on
- 23:16Speaker 3: notice and May the third or May the second, but
- 23:20Speaker 3: that's where he's destined to be, Stevens and we'll see
- 23:23Speaker 3: how soon he challenges Bradford for that job.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Third thing I saw.
- 23:27Speaker 3: I was looking out in the field and it was
- 23:29Speaker 3: this number twenty three on the offensive blue colors, and
- 23:33Speaker 3: he looked like he was about five foot four. He
- 23:37Speaker 3: looked shorter than my daughter who's five six, and I
- 23:43Speaker 3: was I just was kept my eye on what is
- 23:45Speaker 3: he doing here? How'd you get here? Then I look
- 23:46Speaker 3: at the roster. It said Kate Harris, Wide Receiver Air
- 23:50Speaker 3: Force HM. Because as we know, you get a Air Force, Army, Navy,
- 23:57Speaker 3: the military academies, you get a commit to be an
- 24:00Speaker 3: active duty officer and you have to get a waiver
- 24:02Speaker 3: from the Department of Defense to not do that after graduation.
- 24:05Speaker 3: So I started to wonder, wait a minute, if he's
- 24:07Speaker 3: graduating in May. The service academy graduations are near the
- 24:11Speaker 3: end of may or, Middle May, late May. What's he
- 24:14Speaker 3: doing here at Mini camp if he's still a cadet
- 24:18Speaker 3: because he played the twenty twenty five season last fall
- 24:21Speaker 3: for Air Force. I looked it up, so I had
- 24:23Speaker 3: to talk to him and I just pulled him aside.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I really wasn't recorder out and they just chat went.
- 24:27Speaker 3: I said, how'd you get here? I said, are you
- 24:30Speaker 3: still a cadet? He said no, I was a December graduate.
- 24:33Speaker 3: So there are circumstance, sometimes injuries. Sometimes it's academics, sometimes
- 24:37Speaker 3: it's disciplined. I didn't get into him why he was
- 24:39Speaker 3: a December grad. But there are a handful of five
- 24:42Speaker 3: or six at all the academies each each year that
- 24:45Speaker 3: graduate instead of their class in May, they have to
- 24:48Speaker 3: go to an extra semester and they graduate the following
- 24:50Speaker 3: December after one more semester. And that's what Kate Harris was.
- 24:54Speaker 3: So he is now a second lieutenant in the United
- 24:55Speaker 3: States Air Force, a commissioned officer, and he was at
- 24:58Speaker 3: Seahawks Mini Camp.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I said, how'd you get here?
- 25:00Speaker 3: He said, his agent knew somebody in the Seahawks front
- 25:03Speaker 3: office and they lined up this tryout. He wasn't there
- 25:07Speaker 3: he's not signed. He was there on a tryout basis.
- 25:09Speaker 3: He's five foot six and he's small on the field
- 25:12Speaker 3: man in pads with everybody else six or he took
- 25:15Speaker 3: four six' two and SO i, said, well how'd you get?
- 25:19Speaker 3: Here while you're he's a logistics officer and station In?
- 25:22Speaker 3: Utah how did you get?
- 25:23Speaker 1: Here do you have?
- 25:24Speaker 3: Duty they gave him PERMISSIVE tdy permissive temporary dutos us
- 25:28Speaker 3: listening had been in the, military know WHAT tdy. Is
- 25:30Speaker 3: you get paid to go away from your unit for
- 25:31Speaker 3: a while on. Training but they got him to go
- 25:34Speaker 3: way for training with The, seahawks and he, said if
- 25:37Speaker 3: they don't sign him after this camp and they aren't
- 25:40Speaker 3: going to, that he also has a try out next
- 25:43Speaker 3: weekend with The New England. Patriots it'll be another PERMISSIVE tdy.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Step AND i think that's pretty.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Cool.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Now he AND i were talking about if he would
- 25:51Speaker 3: get a contract, offer he would then have to go
- 25:53Speaker 3: back to The department Of, defense not just his. Unit
- 25:56Speaker 3: and that's for permission to go away for a. Weekend
- 25:57Speaker 3: go to The department Of defense and get a waiver
- 26:00Speaker 3: from your active duty. Military John radigan did that recently
- 26:03Speaker 3: with The. Seahawks you can remember the linebacker and special teams.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Force because he had a contract from The, seahawks they
- 26:08Speaker 3: sign him as an undrafted free. Agent he then got
- 26:10Speaker 3: a waiver from The department Of defense to stay his
- 26:13Speaker 3: active duty. Service he's now on reserve. Status he is
- 26:17Speaker 3: with The Carolina. Panthers Dan, morgan Former seahawks assistant, executive
- 26:22Speaker 3: picked him. Up he's now THE gm From. Carolina Keenan
- 26:26Speaker 3: reynolds was His seahawks at one, time A Naval academy,
- 26:28Speaker 3: grad Former navy. Quarterback AS i was Telling chuck this
- 26:31Speaker 3: morning at seven, o'clock he AND i didn't get along
- 26:33Speaker 3: along very well once he found OUT i was A
- 26:35Speaker 3: West point. GRAD i didn't like. Him he didn't like,
- 26:37Speaker 3: me and we it was actually there was some chill, There.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Chris it's one of the Few Seahawks i've. COVERED i
- 26:43Speaker 3: just didn't like.
- 26:46Speaker 1: It, basically that's quite a story that we might need
- 26:49Speaker 1: more more. Diving that.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Way we used to kind of just grinded each. Other
- 26:52Speaker 3: it was he's a. SQUID i didn't like him. Anyway
- 26:57Speaker 3: harris is five, six one hundred and eighty two. Pounds he's.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Tiny he was a scat. Guy for air force and
- 27:02Speaker 3: an offense that barely threw the ball wide. Receiver the
- 27:05Speaker 3: most they signed seven undrafted rookie free. Agents they announced.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Those we mentioned him last week and they announced those On.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Friday Lusill sayamalo stood out to me the most big
- 27:15Speaker 3: number ninety. Two he's a nose. Tackle he's six' five
- 27:18Speaker 3: and weighs like three. POINT thirty i think that's where
- 27:20Speaker 3: they have been. Listed as.
- 27:23Speaker 1: And the.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Guy's big, he's tall taller than most, nose tackles certainly
- 27:27Speaker 3: taller than what they have on the roster, right now
- 27:29Speaker 3: Which Is bubba Thomas And. Brandon Peeley bubba thomas they
- 27:33Speaker 3: had last year on the practice squad for a while
- 27:35Speaker 3: And Then brandon peeley of course got activated and played.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Some Games but mike McDonald's been looking for depth at,
- 27:41Speaker 3: that position an interior. Defensive Line Us will sayamalu was
- 27:45Speaker 3: leaping at the line while getting blocked and knocking. Down
- 27:48Speaker 3: passes and you can't hit a quarterback in, Rookie miniicamp
- 27:51Speaker 3: so one of the best ways you can impact is
- 27:54Speaker 3: jumping and not while you're, getting blocked and not allowing
- 27:57Speaker 3: yourself to be taken out of a Play and sayamala.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Did that he was the most impressive undrafted ROOKIE that
- 28:02Speaker 3: i noticed on. THE field a guy who didn't play
- 28:05Speaker 3: football until his senior year of High, School, Malchai Hawaii
- 28:08Speaker 3: Malchai high School. In hawaii he played volleyball and basketball
- 28:11Speaker 3: until he went out his senior year. For football then
- 28:13Speaker 3: he went two years at junior College At, Garden, city
- 28:15Speaker 3: kansas and then four Years At. Kansas state and that's
- 28:18Speaker 3: how he got. This chance and now. He's signing he
- 28:20Speaker 3: looks like he's going to stick to me on. First
- 28:22Speaker 3: impression the other thing, Real quick i'll talk about before
- 28:25Speaker 3: you had to go break six,' Five, cornerback chris are
- 28:27Speaker 3: we gonna have a six.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Foot Five, cornerback tyrone, broden wide receiver Undrafted rookie from.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Arkansas last year spent most of the season on practice,
- 28:35Speaker 3: squad injured reserves still on crutches or was on Crutches
- 28:37Speaker 3: Of the, super bowl parade so he's not ready. To
- 28:39Speaker 3: practice Yet but the seahawks are moving Him to, corner
- 28:42Speaker 3: he would if he played in a, regular season game
- 28:44Speaker 3: be the TALLEST cornerback. In nfl history you know the
- 28:47Speaker 3: tallest one is right Now Among others brandon browner at six.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Four remember him original member charter Member of The, Legion
- 28:54Speaker 3: Of boom richard sherman was six'.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Three six Foot Five we thought.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Riek Wollen was long tyrone broden is going to be
- 29:02Speaker 3: a cornerback when he gets. Back On, The field the,
- 29:04Speaker 3: seahawks mike McDonald said we love how he. Plays on
- 29:07Speaker 3: the ball we love, how aggressive he is and in
- 29:09Speaker 3: practices he was a. Good special teams player they think he,
- 29:12Speaker 3: could be a tackler which McDonald demands At corner could
- 29:16Speaker 3: the seahawks make history At Cornerback, by moving tyrone broden
- 29:19Speaker 3: a six', five rode. Receiver from arkansas to cornerback those
- 29:23Speaker 3: are my takeaways from. This weekend and mini camp you'll
- 29:27Speaker 3: hear At, eleven o'clock from, both stevens the rookie guard
- 29:30Speaker 3: a Fifth Round pick From. The all american From iowa,
- 29:32Speaker 3: you'll hear from Mike. McDonald coach of the. Seahawks that's,
- 29:37Speaker 3: At eleven. O'clock up next scott mcclun Those who've been
- 29:41Speaker 3: Around the seahawks in the seattle. For a while remember
- 29:43Speaker 3: Him He helped build three super bowl teams As an
- 29:46Speaker 3: executive with the, seahawks at two different stints first in scouting.
- 29:49Speaker 3: And then as an executive he was also a general
- 29:51Speaker 3: Manager of Forty Forty nine Ers. And washington redskins last
- 29:55Speaker 3: commanders he had some Interesting Things to say about jdarion
- 29:58Speaker 3: price Compared. TO his college teammate jeremi i love the third.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Overall pick in the draft we'll talk about that next TO.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Ninety three, Point Three.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Kjrfm welcome back Greg Beldin.

- 30:30Speaker 3: How would you, fix them we met offensively but they've.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Had issues at the bullpen they've had, Issues That their
- 30:36Speaker 3: starting rotation leis castillo yet to Have a win. And
- 30:39Speaker 3: his zra's above six he lost yesterday giving up three
- 30:42Speaker 3: runs in the fifth and the way the offense was
- 30:44Speaker 3: that was it four singles for An Offense. That is
- 30:47Speaker 3: without kyle rawley we ARE awaiting results of the mri
- 30:50Speaker 3: exam that he had this weekend, for soreness in, his
- 30:53Speaker 3: side maybe oblique issue and whether he needs to go
- 30:57Speaker 3: on the injured list that May Come out today before
- 30:59Speaker 3: the owners played tonight a six To forty Game at
- 31:02Speaker 3: the Yard and Soto. Against, THE rage in atlanta, BRAVES
- 31:05Speaker 3: i mean they're like i think twenty five and. Ten
- 31:06Speaker 3: Is Our current record the braves mariners are. Not twenty
- 31:09Speaker 3: five and ten they're sixteen and nineteen after reaching five
- 31:12Speaker 3: hundred after a, six and one road trip oh and
- 31:15Speaker 3: three in their first Three Home Games. Against the kansas
- 31:18Speaker 3: City royals that's where. The mariners are right now we
- 31:20Speaker 3: also have on, the text line four. Nine four to
- 31:22Speaker 3: five one. WE'LL read back eleven Thirty a lot of
- 31:24Speaker 3: people chris are writing in about suggestions on Where To.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Go to run port townsend.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Can't wait to. Read them back at, thirty excuse, ME
- 31:31Speaker 2: eleven thirty. But, yes i would definitely, yeah thank. You,
- 31:34Speaker 2: for that appreciate it yeah there's a couple of. Good
- 31:36Speaker 2: ones on there too this.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Past weekend we just mentioned last segment Detailed my takeaways
- 31:41Speaker 3: from the seahawks Rookie Mini camp at the news tribune.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Dot com at eleven O'clock You Left from both Steven's.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Yell american guard from iowa his First. Impressions of being
- 31:50Speaker 3: a Seahawk you also hear from mike McDonald and how
- 31:53Speaker 3: he surmised how it went doing A Two day Mini.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Camp friday saturday in renting scott that mclun those of
- 32:01Speaker 3: us have been around, the team for a while covering
- 32:02Speaker 3: THE team as. Long as i have know scott mcluhn
- 32:05Speaker 3: has had a hand in building Three Of The first.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Four seahawks super bowl teams he was a director Of
- 32:11Speaker 3: college scouting for the seahawks in the early two thousands
- 32:14Speaker 3: two thousand, to two thousand and four then He Went
- 32:17Speaker 3: to become The san francisco. Forty nine ers general manager
- 32:19Speaker 3: He came back to The Seahawks twenty Ten When pete carroll,
- 32:24Speaker 3: and john schneider took over and he was part of
- 32:26Speaker 3: that first run when they had two hundred plus. Transactions
- 32:30Speaker 3: in the first year he was a senior personnel executive
- 32:33Speaker 3: on those teams for three years that helped them build
- 32:36Speaker 3: the rosters That Got. Them to the super bowl complete
- 32:38Speaker 3: overhaul got him To the back to back super bowls,
- 32:42Speaker 3: of it twelve years ago And Then he became the
- 32:44Speaker 3: washington redskins general manager for two. Seasons, Twenty fifteen and
- 32:48Speaker 3: Sixteen Well scott mcluhn told The Athletic, that he thinks
- 32:54Speaker 3: jdarian price the Number, one pick for the seahawks is
- 32:56Speaker 3: GOING to have a better nfl Career And, be better
- 32:59Speaker 3: than jeremiah love the third pick In The. Draft from,
- 33:02Speaker 3: The arizona cardinals Of course love started over price For The,
- 33:05Speaker 3: three Seasons at notre dame yet price stayed because he
- 33:09Speaker 3: told us he wanted the challenge of playing, against the
- 33:12Speaker 3: best running back playing with and competing, with every day
- 33:14Speaker 3: in practice the best. Running back in the country the,
- 33:18Speaker 3: third pick. In the draft he was love was clearly
- 33:21Speaker 3: rated by most scouts and certainly draft observers as the
- 33:24Speaker 3: number one running, back In this draft class with, price
- 33:28Speaker 3: that consensus number two and then it was a. Big
- 33:30Speaker 3: Drop off To three mike Anderson from arkansas and the
- 33:33Speaker 3: seahawks draft board reflected that there was A, Big, drop
- 33:36Speaker 3: off between love price and then the rest of the
- 33:38Speaker 3: field at running back. In this year's, draft Class but
- 33:42Speaker 3: mccluan says the seahawks got the steal over even the,
- 33:45Speaker 3: third pick IN the draft and now i think has
- 33:48Speaker 3: something to do with the fact that this untapped potential.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Of being in every down.
- 33:52Speaker 3: BACK in the past game A lot of people think
- 33:54Speaker 3: price is going to be just a runner that may
- 33:57Speaker 3: not be able to play ON third downs in the
- 33:59Speaker 3: nfl because his lack of experience pass blocking and receiving that.
- 34:03Speaker 3: We talked about last segment, McClellan, has he knows talent
- 34:07Speaker 3: obviously and while he had reasons that he didn't, stick
- 34:11Speaker 3: as a general manager his evaluation of Talent helped build
- 34:15Speaker 3: three Super, bowl teams for the Seahawks and he said
- 34:19Speaker 3: that Price is going. To surpass, love As teammate of course,
- 34:22Speaker 3: the seahawks would love that but it's interesting that that
- 34:27Speaker 3: comparison is probably going to go. On for a long
- 34:28Speaker 3: time they're going to play each other twice a year
- 34:31Speaker 3: for the NEXT Four Years inside The. Nfc west arizon
- 34:33Speaker 3: in seattle and they were the first. Two running we mentioned.
- 34:36Speaker 3: This this. Is notre Name those two love and price
- 34:40Speaker 3: became the first running backs selected from the same team
- 34:43Speaker 3: as the first two running backs TAKEN in, any draft
- 34:45Speaker 3: in nfl history back to back.
- 34:48Speaker 1: One. Three And thirty two chris If, price is.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Better than love then this is. A steal of the
- 34:55Speaker 3: century if you're going to have a better than the
- 34:58Speaker 3: number three overall running back as Your Lead back to
- 35:00Speaker 3: replace kenneth walker on a rookie salary for the next
- 35:03Speaker 3: four years with the potential. For a Fifty year option everybody.
- 35:06Speaker 2: In arizona's lost. A, shop that's what happened like that's
- 35:10Speaker 2: that would that would be like what we drafted this
- 35:13Speaker 2: kid and you mean to tell me the other kid
- 35:16Speaker 2: that got taken thirty second his backup is better and.
- 35:19Speaker 2: We didn't, Have that information that's huge so that. Would,
- 35:23Speaker 2: be that'd be huge yeah not to mention, they, didn't,
- 35:27Speaker 2: go quarterback right well yeah there were probably. Other needs
- 35:29Speaker 2: you could have quarterback probably would have been your biggest.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Need outside of running back but. YOU want to build
- 35:36Speaker 2: up i get they're doing Their. Thing down there in
- 35:40Speaker 2: arizona we'll. See how it, works out as you mentioned
- 35:42Speaker 2: they're going to play each other twice a year, for
- 35:44Speaker 2: the next four years so that's eight game. Sample, sizes
- 35:47Speaker 2: to figure out okay did we? Make the right move,
- 35:49Speaker 2: here and like guys mentioned, if it doesn't work out
- 35:52Speaker 2: there will be a lot of there will.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Be a Lot.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Of movement again with.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Arizona they can find themselves, picking top five yet again probably.
- 35:58Speaker 2: For the next couple seasons so that's that's something monitor
- 36:02Speaker 2: especially with a team that's in this division that's looking
- 36:05Speaker 2: to get Out of that because the, seahawks Have had
- 36:07Speaker 2: rough years the, rams have had rough Years but it
- 36:10Speaker 2: feels like arizona has just. Been A constant rough year
- 36:12Speaker 2: and i know the forty, nineers have, had their struggles,
- 36:14Speaker 2: but hell just, last season with everything happening they still
- 36:17Speaker 2: managed to, get to where they got which is what the.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Visional round one of theft So you're looking at the
- 36:25Speaker 2: cardinals like they're always going to be the.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Little. Brother, in this.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Division now granted what, was it ten? Years ago if
- 36:30Speaker 2: not more They were. Damnu a super bowl contender they
- 36:33Speaker 2: Had A great coach and bruce Arians Who.
- 36:35Speaker 3: They lost The, super bowl, to the steelers fixed things.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Changed things with their organization then he ended up leaving
- 36:41Speaker 2: and it's kind of been like a been. A mess
- 36:44Speaker 2: down there since so you're wondering how much longer is
- 36:46Speaker 2: this team going to be the quote unquote. Worst Team
- 36:49Speaker 2: in the division, the CARDINALS went, running back like i
- 36:52Speaker 2: said instead of.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Quarterback at three With Love then they went chase pasonas
- 36:56Speaker 3: so a Lot of people wanted The SEAHAWKS to TAKE
- 36:58Speaker 3: the texas a and m guard at, the top of
- 37:01Speaker 3: round two.
- 37:02Speaker 1: The thirty fourth overall pick they.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Got their quarterback in round, Three At, sixty five overall
- 37:07Speaker 3: carson beck the forty Two year Old from the university
- 37:10Speaker 3: of Miami. Who also Played At, georgia they have jacoby
- 37:14Speaker 3: brissett who wants more money and it's threatening a holdout
- 37:17Speaker 3: because it looks like he's going to be the starter
- 37:19Speaker 3: and he wants. To be paid like one he's played
- 37:21Speaker 3: for four hundred and. Ten teams In His, career and
- 37:24Speaker 3: then gardner minshew the former koub. Is also On That
- 37:28Speaker 3: roster and then carson beck comes in here forty. Three
- 37:32Speaker 3: starts over Six Years it'd seemed like carson beck. Was
- 37:34Speaker 3: in college for ten Then In the fourth Round Caleb,
- 37:38Speaker 3: proctor defensive, tackle southeast Louisiana Fourth Round Wide, receiver reggie,
- 37:42Speaker 3: Virgil Texas, tech round Six. Carson shahar, Linebacker From, iowa round,
- 37:47Speaker 3: Seven jayden Williams offensive, TACKLE old miss but they i
- 37:51Speaker 3: mean their Quarterback Of, the future is carson beck. Potentially
- 37:54Speaker 3: their third round pick. And that's what's this, point if love,
- 38:01Speaker 3: doesn't hit they're gonna say ah quarterback why didn't you
- 38:03Speaker 3: take a, quarterback at the third pick. Because that's a
- 38:05Speaker 3: generational spot we've Talked about this when the Seahawks. Had
- 38:08Speaker 3: five and got witherspoon there aren't many times you can
- 38:10Speaker 3: count on your franchise. Having a pick that high and
- 38:14Speaker 3: that's why the, quarterbacks usually go that eye because you
- 38:16Speaker 3: pick a quarterback and most sport's most important position when you.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Have a pick that high coming up, next top of
- 38:22Speaker 3: the Hour You're, gonna Hear From bo stevens The, all
- 38:25Speaker 3: american guard from iowa his Impressions of. His first rookie mini,
- 38:29Speaker 3: camp ask him about That and you'll let from mike
- 38:31Speaker 3: McDonald And How he assessed, the rocky Minnie Camp went
- 38:34Speaker 3: including how bo stevens, playing on the right side how
- 38:37Speaker 3: they've come about to.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Decide that at right guard eleven.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Thirty will be, back to text four. Nine Four to
- 38:42Speaker 3: five one Chris crawford Is in. For ian for nest
- 38:45Speaker 3: today he'll join, me at eleven forty five heading into his.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Show from twelve Until Three. That includes a mariner's mollywop
- 38:51Speaker 3: that doesn't sound like it's. Gonna be very. UPLIFTING today
- 38:53Speaker 3: oh that's next a Ninety three point three kjr offen
