- 0:01What is going on everybody? Welcome back to another episode
- 0:05of the Bring the Thunder podcast.
- 0:07We have the full panel today. We have 4 topics for you guys.
- 0:12All of them are really good. So we're just going to dive
- 0:15right in here with our first topic, which is my own.
- 0:19My first topic that I brought to the table for today was who has
- 0:22been our most valuable non starter this season, assuming
- 0:27that the starting lineup is Shay, Wallace, Dortchet and
- 0:30Hartenstein, who has been our most valuable bench player?
- 0:34So I'll go last since this is my question.
- 0:36If someone wants to immediately kind of kind of chip in there,
- 0:39be my guest. Yeah, I guess I'll start off on
- 0:42this one. I, I think it's a very good
- 0:44question because I think a lot of people would automatically
- 0:47turn to AJ Mitchell to start. I mean, he's been fantastic.
- 0:51He's, you know, top two, top 3 runner for six man of the year
- 0:55right now. But before the injury, I could
- 0:57argue that Aaron Wiggins was super important.
- 1:01He was having some monster games.
- 1:03He was killing it in Portland, the game that we lost before he
- 1:06went out to injury. And then, you know, we ended up
- 1:08losing that game. And I could also argue since
- 1:11Isaiah Joe's return that he's been lights out from deep.
- 1:14He's been fantastic on defense. It's become kind of a creator on
- 1:18the offensive side of the ball. Last year was more just shoot
- 1:21the ball. He's still shooting the ball at
- 1:25a remarkable rate, but he's going off the dribble, he's
- 1:29throwing behind the back passes, He's taking charges on the
- 1:32defensive end. But to actually answer the
- 1:35question, I just wanted to shout out those guys.
- 1:37I do think it has to be AJ Mitchell.
- 1:40Dudes putting up 15 points a game it seems like every game
- 1:44and sometimes he's reaching the 20 point mark, which is super
- 1:48effective off the bench. And he even when he was able to
- 1:51start, he was great. We won games with him as a
- 1:53starter. But I kind of want to highlight
- 1:55the defense. You know, you when you think of
- 1:57a six man of the year, you're like, oh, a guy who comes in and
- 2:00scores like 18 points per game off the bench efficiently and
- 2:03sparks the offense. Well, AJ Mitchell's averaging
- 2:06about 15 points a game almost while also being one of the top
- 2:10rated defenders in the whole NBA, not even just on the team.
- 2:13So he's providing both offense and defense off the bench.
- 2:17And I I don't think there's many players off the bench on any
- 2:20team better than AJ Mitchell, let alone OK C.
- 2:24Yeah, adding on to that as well, you mentioned the defense, he's
- 2:26got the second highest defensive rating in the entire NBA and
- 2:30behind behind Alex Caruso at #1 but that's just that OKC
- 2:33Dominus, I believe he's also 8th in that rating.
- 2:35So yeah, there there is nothing to immediately go out and just
- 2:39dislike it by AJ Mitchell. I mean, he's been doing
- 2:41everything and more that we expected.
- 2:43So Jack, do you want to chip in here?
- 2:47Yeah, I think there's only three real options for this.
- 2:51Everyone else has been great off the bench, but the three most
- 2:54valuable off the bench is AJ Wiggins and Caruso each have the
- 2:59right case, to be fair. I think obviously Caruso's
- 3:02leading OKC and the NBA and all these advanced statistics.
- 3:07Wiggins just does his thing and you know, we can always rely on
- 3:10him to say basketball. And then AJ Mitchell has
- 3:13obviously been one of the best six men in the league so far.
- 3:16So it's it's yeah, hard to choose out of those 3.
- 3:21But I'm going to stick with my favorite and go with Aaron
- 3:24Wiggins because I feel like when he's on one he is the most
- 3:28valuable and non starter so. Fair enough.
- 3:31Give me what do you what do you guys have here?
- 3:33Yeah, I'm going to be arguing for Isaiah Joe in this because
- 3:40he has the best offensive rating, space and gravity.
- 3:46He can have a really high plus minus swing and then also just
- 3:49offensively, like his scoring swings can pretty much tilt
- 3:53games from them being a close one to a 10 point advantage to
- 3:58where our defense can just pretty much keep that lead most
- 4:01of the time. So I think that's why he's super
- 4:03important. He also is probably the only
- 4:06real shooter that we have on the team in terms of like pure
- 4:10shooter that we have. He's always ranking amongst the
- 4:14highest and offensive rating alongside Shay.
- 4:17Any line up with him and Shay in it always, you know, turns the
- 4:20floor spacing from good to elite in my opinion.
- 4:23And he can lock down opponents if he needs to at times and
- 4:26moments. He's not like a net negative.
- 4:29He's just a neutral guy on defense.
- 4:31And then also it takes a lot of energy to chase around a guy
- 4:34like him. You had to run him off screens,
- 4:36things like that. So it's hard to scheme when you
- 4:39have a guy like Shay, then you have floor spacing of Chet.
- 4:42So adding Isaiah Joe into the mix when you know, you just saw
- 4:45like, let's say, a lineup with Caruso Door and maybe Cason who
- 4:51maybe not be hitting their shots at the moment, and then Isaiah
- 4:54Joe comes in and completely changes the game for us.
- 4:58So I feel like for his dynamic of what he adds and how premium
- 5:04shooting is and how well he's developed this season, like he's
- 5:08shooting lights out and he's having a tremendous season.
- 5:11I feel like he should get that recognition.
- 5:14I get why AJ is getting it and I, you know, I get why others
- 5:18like Caruso would get it and stuff, but for me, for me, I
- 5:23think it's him because during the playoffs, if he keeps this
- 5:27up, yeah, yeah, it'll be wraps. So I'm.
- 5:31Just going to hop in here really quick and just to add on Isaiah
- 5:33Joe because he does deserve a lot of credit.
- 5:36Another thing that we were kind of we weren't worried about, but
- 5:40we brought it up a few times earlier in the season was our
- 5:43three-point percentage as a team was terrible.
- 5:48I feel like ever since he's joined the team and and got back
- 5:51healthy, we haven't had now we we've had games where we didn't
- 5:54shoot well, but it hasn't been much topic of conversation.
- 5:57So I just want to like kind of throw that out there, not only
- 6:00him raising the percentage by himself, but maybe having him
- 6:04out there spacing the floor in that second unit also gets other
- 6:08guys open. So Isaiah Joe has also been
- 6:10extremely valuable. Yeah.
- 6:12The other point I want to add about Isaiah Joe is every
- 6:15championship team that wants to contend multiple times always
- 6:19has their prototypical shooter guy.
- 6:22And we can look back at guys like Kyle Korver, Mike Miller,
- 6:27you name it. Everyone, every team has had
- 6:29that guy and we really haven't had a pinpoint where Shay's
- 6:33getting double teamed and you can keep outlet passing.
- 6:36And we've seen in some games where that does happen and
- 6:39Isaiah Joe is that guy and it's not pretty for the other team.
- 6:43They usually call timeouts very quickly.
- 6:46So that's the level of like he can flip a game, whereas his
- 6:50impact on the floor isn't like the other guys that play
- 6:52defense. But it's just as profound.
- 6:55I feel like if you have an elite level talent, like if you have a
- 6:58pure shooter, it's hard to replace.
- 7:01Joe, you mentioned that 3 point shooting going up and, and the
- 7:04issues in the beginning of the season.
- 7:06There was an early episode where I remember we talked about that.
- 7:08And that was one of the things I said was I'm not worried about
- 7:11it because we have Isaiah Joe. Like the confidence that I've
- 7:14had in Isaiah Joe has been going on for quite some time.
- 7:17So Isaiah Joe is, it's hard to argue against him being one of
- 7:20those players. But the thing that I really
- 7:22wanted to point out and Jack, you kind of mentioned this, how
- 7:24you can make a case for everybody is it's it's such a
- 7:27blessing that we get to be a fan of a team that has this many
- 7:31bench players who are impacting the game in this way with.
- 7:35I mean, they're, they are such a big all of them.
- 7:38And like, I'll, I'll, I'll give my answer here in a minute.
- 7:40But all of them are the reason that we are having such a good
- 7:42start of the season. Every one of them has
- 7:44contributed. They've won US games, they've
- 7:46stepped up when they need to. And there is an argument for
- 7:48every single one of them. I mean, my, my gut wants to just
- 7:51say Caruso immediately, but that's actually not who I'm
- 7:53going to go with. But I think Caruso does have a
- 7:56very good argument. The reason I'm not going with
- 7:58him immediately is because like we've mentioned, he is kind of
- 8:01just used as that, that tool, that utility tool, that secret
- 8:04weapon when we need him. But he's not exactly getting
- 8:07high volume minutes every games because we don't need him to do
- 8:10that. You know, we're playing teams
- 8:11that don't require his his presence as much.
- 8:14So, but in the minutes he plays, I mean, he's he's this is the
- 8:17least amount of minutes per game he's played since his rookie and
- 8:20he's having arguably the biggest impact he's had in quite some
- 8:23time. I mean, he was big for us last
- 8:25year. But if you just look at the
- 8:26advanced stats for him playing such few minutes to be able to
- 8:29impact the game the way that he is, it's outstanding.
- 8:32But I think I'm going to go with Wiggins as well as as Jack said
- 8:36that I just think the impact that Wiggins has when he comes
- 8:39in, it's, it's insane. I mean, there, there were times
- 8:41last year where I, I've always loved Wiggins, but there were
- 8:44times where I, I would complain about sometimes his shot, his
- 8:47the shots he would take, he would just drive in, put up a
- 8:49shot. I'm not seeing that this year.
- 8:51I am seeing intelligent shots. I'm seeing good drives.
- 8:54I'm seeing him moving the ball. And then on the defensive end,
- 8:57he stepped up as well. I feel like he's playing more
- 8:59physical defense. I feel like he's moving a lot
- 9:01quicker and everything about him just feels like a starter.
- 9:04I mean, he does not feel like he should be coming off the bench.
- 9:07And Jack, you said that a lot last year.
- 9:09There were a lot of times last year where you were like this
- 9:11man should be starting. And honestly he should be on any
- 9:14other team because it's hard to justify him starting for us.
- 9:19But you can make the argument. But that's how good he is.
- 9:21He he's a starting level basketball player.
- 9:25Yeah, and every time he comes into the game, his energy, his
- 9:27hustle is just contagious. And we always just go, go and
- 9:30run and space off one of his players.
- 9:32And that's the thing I noticed about him the most is he gets a
- 9:35nickname for saving basketball because it feels like
- 9:37everything, all the comebacks come after a pivotal moment that
- 9:41he makes so. He also steps up to those
- 9:45moments incredibly like with with so much confidence.
- 9:48I mean, those are big moments and for the bench player to be
- 9:50the one that comes in and and wants that moment.
- 9:53I mean, that's, that's the starter mentality.
- 9:54That's the shame mentality is you want that moment, You want
- 9:57to be the one taking that big shot.
- 9:59And not only does he want it, but it it's like he was made
- 10:01for. I mean, he he knocks it down
- 10:03right when we need it. And then it the streak just
- 10:05keeps going. You know, you think of the Cavs
- 10:07game last year. You think I mean there there
- 10:09were so many games last year where I just felt like him alone
- 10:12ran this this huge run and as soon as that time out gets
- 10:15called by the other team, he is just screaming and and you're
- 10:18out of your seat. You're getting just as excited.
- 10:20But he is definitely the one that I'm I'm the most high on in
- 10:24terms of our off bench player. But everyone has a good
- 10:27argument. A JS got a great argument as
- 10:29well. I like your picks out of here.
- 10:31Isaiah Joe. I'm always going to ride with
- 10:32him. So this team is just it's so so
- 10:35damn good. I mean, there's so many players
- 10:37that we can essentially throw out for this this question.
- 10:41So that's at least my take on that.
- 10:44Absolutely moving on unless everyone is.
- 10:47Anyone else got anything else? We're good.
- 10:50All right, Gabe, what is our second topic here?
- 10:52So the second topic is some stuff that Joe's actually got
- 10:56for us here. Joe, do you want to kind of open
- 10:58up everything about that here? Give the Thunder fans some good
- 11:01news. Yes, from Spot Spot Rec, one of
- 11:06my favorite sites for contracts like NBA contracts, NFL
- 11:11contracts, all that stuff. They break it down completely.
- 11:13Go you go check that out. They put out an article today or
- 11:16yesterday actually, and it's almost immortal lock that the
- 11:21Thunder are going to re sign both dart and Dort and
- 11:26Hartenstein. Sorry, I was just thinking about
- 11:28football for a second there with dart, but so I'll kind of break
- 11:33it down a little bit. So in the article they explained
- 11:36that, you know, both Hartenstein and Dort have options coming
- 11:42back coming up on their on their contracts in 2627.
- 11:47It's a lot that the Thunder are going to decline those for sure.
- 11:51But OK, C re signing both players is like they said, a
- 11:56quote UN quote mortal lock, because we're going to get them
- 11:58back on good deals, team friendly deals like everyone
- 12:02else who's signed contracts with this team.
- 12:05You know, all all the contracts on this team have been team
- 12:07friendly with Dort. His next deal might start around
- 12:1218.2 million. His his team option is worth.
- 12:16But looking at recent history tells them to expect that the
- 12:19deal will likely decline over the years.
- 12:22So what they're saying is it'll start at 18.2, but that it'll
- 12:26it'll be front heavy the deal. So a lot of the money that we've
- 12:29been kind of a lot of the contracts we've been making the,
- 12:33it's the contracts have been back heavy.
- 12:36So people will get more money the longer they're on their
- 12:40contract. But with these deals with
- 12:41Dort's, they're going to push it in the front and it'll likely
- 12:44decline over the years to to keep even more cap space for OKC
- 12:49in the future years to come. Hardenstein's going to be 28
- 12:53when the deals up and he's not going to touch the 28.5 million
- 12:59that that's his team option they say.
- 13:03But that's why the Thunder paid him 58.5 million over the last
- 13:06two years. They expect Harden Hartenstein
- 13:08to take less per year, which is very nice of him to stay in OK C
- 13:13but with multiple guarantee guaranteed years tacked on to
- 13:17make up for anything he gives up on the season.
- 13:20So towards the end of his contract he'll get guaranteed
- 13:22money. So in the beginning it'll be
- 13:26lighter and then he'll get his guaranteed money towards the end
- 13:29as well. And they said that, you know,
- 13:33like and Dort and like Dort, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins before
- 13:38them, expect the deal to to decline year over year as well.
- 13:43So pretty much what that's saying is like we've seen with
- 13:47Aaron Wiggins, like we see with Isaiah Joe, we talked all last
- 13:50year about, Oh my God, look at the contracts we got Joe and
- 13:53Wiggins on and what they're becoming.
- 13:55And how nice is it to have a five year deal with the guy
- 13:57who's very valuable 6th man of the year candidate and he's not
- 14:03making an extreme amount of money.
- 14:05That's going to be like, oh, we're going to have to drop a
- 14:07starter or somebody off off the bench.
- 14:10They're saying that it's more likely than not that Hartenstein
- 14:14and Dort will both take team friendly deals.
- 14:17It'll benefit them in the long term.
- 14:19Like Hardenstein's, like I said, is going to get his guaranteed
- 14:22money and Dort will get his money kind of upfront and it'll
- 14:25kind of decline over the years, which makes a lot of sense for
- 14:27the team. So that being said, Gabe, I'm
- 14:31pretty sure we're going to three peat because if everyone stays
- 14:34on this team, we already have all of the bench locked up.
- 14:38AJ Mitchell is locked up on a three-year, $3,000,000 per year
- 14:42deal. We talked about Wiggins and Joe,
- 14:44we signed up to four or five year deals.
- 14:47What's up to like 40 million and nothing crazy.
- 14:50Check got paid, Dub got paid, Shay got paid, and it looks like
- 14:54these two are getting paid as well and I am super excited
- 14:57about that. Hey Joe, you want to take it one
- 14:59step further? We might get 3 lottery picks
- 15:02this year. Yeah, well, that's that's also
- 15:05so they also did mention if if something were were to go South
- 15:08in one of these negotiations between Dort or Hartnstein.
- 15:15We also have those lottery picks to, you know, make up where we
- 15:18also have Sorber who's injured. We we don't have our first round
- 15:21rookie this year. Nicola Topich hasn't been on the
- 15:24court yet. So you know, if something were
- 15:26to go wrong, we do have a lot of backup plans.
- 15:28So I'm happy you brought that up, but it is likely that we're
- 15:30going to be able to resign both and avoid second apron as well,
- 15:33so. I see Jack over there shaking
- 15:35his head in disbelief. Her.
- 15:37I can't even like I know all of this, but then when you said all
- 15:41in one sentence, I still can't fathom it.
- 15:43Like how, How was I? I don't understand how like the
- 15:49Wizards can be the worst team in the league for 10 seasons
- 15:51straight and we have everything that a team could need.
- 15:55It it used to be a joke, but but it it it's not it's not a joke
- 15:58anymore. He's he's playing 2K Like this
- 16:01is 2K. This is this is literally making
- 16:042K trades. And it's when this is like when
- 16:06you have to stop a 2K league with your friend because of one
- 16:09of you broke the system and just kept getting too many picks and
- 16:11made too good of a team. That's what's happened right
- 16:13now. Like your friend's pissed at you
- 16:15because he's like, dude, that's an unreal.
- 16:17It's a trade. Yet here we are.
- 16:19We have every pick in the book. We're now finding ways to keep
- 16:22our money in check. Like this is stupid.
- 16:26I also think it's super important to highlight that a
- 16:30lot of the credit indirectly goes to Shay, Gilgit's
- 16:33Alexander, because he was part of the trade that got us all of
- 16:37these picks. You know, we also made multiple
- 16:38other trades together, even more picks, but the main trade was
- 16:41Shay and like a boatload of picks.
- 16:45This team doesn't get to where it's at already without Shay,
- 16:49Gil just Alexander becoming the best player in the NBA, which
- 16:52none of us be honest, none of us ever thought that was going to
- 16:55happen. So like to give him credit, you
- 16:58know, a lot of the credit goes to him and then it just that
- 17:02directly makes Presti look like a mastermind.
- 17:04And obviously now he's got like everyone's pick for the next 10
- 17:07years, so that works as well. I think in a few years we're
- 17:11going to get it revealed that Sam Presti actually has a a
- 17:13magic ball and and he's been using it all these years because
- 17:17he knows everything. He knows the future.
- 17:19He knows it's it's I think back to a couple episodes ago when we
- 17:23talked about that Mavericks pick that suddenly has become a lot
- 17:26more valuable. And I remember last year when
- 17:29that trade happened, we talked about it.
- 17:31I remember everybody on this panel saying I don't understand
- 17:34it, but it'll, it'll do something good and, and a year
- 17:38later, somehow it turns out good and that that's just what he
- 17:41does. That's what I don't know how
- 17:42many times we said on this podcast, but this, the, the
- 17:45Presti statue cannot come soon enough.
- 17:47I mean, it, it's going to be built one way or another.
- 17:50Whether he has to win US five rings first, I I don't know, but
- 17:54he, he's shooting towards it. But that's something I didn't
- 17:57want to talk about with Sam Presti in particular and what I
- 17:59love the most about him. And the job's never done with
- 18:02him. After we won the ring, he was
- 18:04thinking about how can I win the next two?
- 18:06Like, there is no stopping point for him.
- 18:08He doesn't see this as, yeah, I'm sure he felt really good
- 18:12when we won this ring. The next day.
- 18:14I'm, I believe he was trying to set up how the next season was
- 18:17going to go. And he's going to keep doing
- 18:18that every single year because there is nothing that he cares
- 18:21more about than just constantly getting better.
- 18:23And that's the that's the same mentality that our players have.
- 18:26That's the same mentality that our staff has, like the the
- 18:29culture and OK C is absurd. It is absurd and the fans have
- 18:34it just as much. Yeah, yes, I'm very happy you
- 18:37brought that up as well, because Once Upon a time there was a
- 18:42very good player on Oklahoma City that ended up leaving the
- 18:44team over $1 million, James Harden, of course.
- 18:48So you also want to shout out the players here too, right?
- 18:51I mean, Sam Presti is an absolute genius, an Oklahoma
- 18:54City Thunder legend, an Oklahoma City legend and just a legend in
- 18:56the NBA himself. But the report is that they're
- 19:00both likely to take less money than what they deserve.
- 19:04Yeah. Well, I mean, yeah, deserve and
- 19:05and what, you know, what they're worth.
- 19:06Like Chet Holmgren could have easily said J Dub's getting that
- 19:11much more an incentive. I want that, too.
- 19:12Like. But it's the players and the
- 19:15culture that's been built around this team as well that really is
- 19:19putting this team over the top. It's whoever to you know,
- 19:22whoever's out there on Twitter or in the comments say the
- 19:24second second apron's going to get OK C It's not going to get
- 19:28us. It's not going to get us.
- 19:29And I feel really bad for them, I really do.
- 19:33Yeah, I might get this sorry franchise, but I want to get us.
- 19:36Yeah, Presti was thinking about the second apron 2 years ago.
- 19:39He's been thinking about all this.
- 19:40Like I said, he's got the magic ball.
- 19:42He's been looking at this. He's got plans, things that we
- 19:45still don't understand that will absolutely end up we'll we'll be
- 19:49making an episode in a month from now going over something
- 19:51Presti just did that somehow has unlocked more, more potential,
- 19:55more money, better odds, better picks, all that good stuff.
- 19:58So and. One last thing, Gabe.
- 19:59Yeah, kind of the the biggest dynasty that I've watched, or
- 20:05maybe the best that I've watched in all of sports is the New
- 20:09England Patriots with Tom Brady. And, and there's a quick
- 20:12connection here. I don't want to start talking
- 20:13about the NFL, but. The Patriots were able to be
- 20:17dominant for that long. They won 6 Super Bowls, right?
- 20:21So 6 is a lot of championships is because Tom Brady was never
- 20:27ever a top paid quarterback. He he was the best quarterback
- 20:32ever, but he never was #1 on that list for salary.
- 20:36And I think the main reason was he wanted to win and he knew
- 20:41that in order for him to have the best team around them, he
- 20:44has to take a cut. And these guys have the same
- 20:46exact mindset. And that's why I think we're
- 20:48going to be around for a super long time.
- 20:53I'd like to make my own rugby analogy similar to that.
- 20:57You guys probably won't catch this, but for those who do,
- 20:59shout out. So the New Zealand team, the All
- 21:02Blacks have a 78% win rate throughout the whole time and
- 21:06it's because of the team culture and the players putting the team
- 21:11above themselves. And I think that's also the
- 21:13formula that the OKC Thunder is attacking, so.
- 21:19While we might not understand that exact reference, it does
- 21:21show one thing though, and that's it doesn't matter the
- 21:24sport. If you put your team ahead, it,
- 21:26it, you will succeed. Like it does not matter what the
- 21:28sport is. It doesn't matter if the, if
- 21:30it's a popular sport, it if you put the team first, they will
- 21:33succeed. Like that is just, that is a
- 21:35fundamental thing. That's not just a sport thing.
- 21:37Like I feel like I'm giving a Ted Talk right now.
- 21:39That's the that's the thing with like, that's just life.
- 21:42If in general, like if, if you put an effort into like team
- 21:45chemistry and, and into, into working together, like you will
- 21:48succeed better than being by yourself.
- 21:50So there was one more thing I don't want to mention.
- 21:52That's earlier, Joe, you were talking about.
- 21:54We need to give credit to Shay as well.
- 21:55And, and like a big part of that is that rookie year.
- 21:58I mean, the potential that he displayed in that rookie year
- 22:01with the Clippers where he just play out of his mind.
- 22:03It it was it was incredible. I mean, it's it's the reason
- 22:06Presti knew that it was worth going after him.
- 22:07So with that, I actually wanted to use that to perfectly
- 22:10transition into our next topic, which is I'm.
- 22:13Super sorry. And we can cut this out of the
- 22:15video if you guys want, OK. I think we got to keep it in
- 22:18just to end that conversation. I think it's those those haters
- 22:22really get to me. Those guys are they're not going
- 22:24to survive the second apron. You guys could take that second
- 22:27apron and shove it up your ass, right?
- 22:29Nevermind, let's. Go OK, OK.
- 22:32Talking about Shay, we talking about all that value that he
- 22:34got. It's hard not to talk about Shay
- 22:37and the player he's become if we don't talk about one of the most
- 22:39important mentors that was in OK C, that was with Shay.
- 22:43And that is our topic of reacting to Chris Paul's
- 22:46retirement announcement. As we know here as Thunder fans,
- 22:50we all at least respect him for what he's done with us.
- 22:52And one of the biggest things that he did with us was just
- 22:55completely take Shay under his wing, not just on the court, but
- 22:58off the court as well as they are very close.
- 23:00Their families are very close. But yes, let's do some, let's do
- 23:04some talking about Savier's topic here, which is Chris Paul
- 23:08retiring Savier. Got anything?
- 23:10Yeah, I got, I got a little couple talking points.
- 23:13First, I want to shout him out for his days.
- 23:16I think he started out in Oklahoma on the Hornets back in
- 23:21the day. That's what they were called,
- 23:22but I'm not mistaken. So he led that city to kind of
- 23:26become what it is today in two ways, One that way and also him
- 23:32teaching up this core of Lou Dort and Shay Gill.
- 23:35Just Alexander, you know, obviously he's going to go in
- 23:39around NBA circles, but him personally to the city of
- 23:42Oklahoma and to the current kind of dynasty that we're forming.
- 23:47I think he's been super important.
- 23:49I guess he's he was he was amazing, man, that season was
- 23:53something special. We had no business even making
- 23:57it to the playoffs and even taking that Houston Rockets team
- 24:01to seven games in the bubble I believe.
- 24:03But I'm curious as to what you guys think in terms of his all
- 24:06time ranking as a Thunder player.
- 24:09Does he enter your top five? If and if he doesn't, does he
- 24:14enter your top ten and where would you rank him?
- 24:17So I'd love to hear you guys thoughts.
- 24:22That is tough, I mean. Just try to be brief.
- 24:25I know, I know, I think I have to say no just because of the
- 24:30short time spent here. Despite the amazing things that
- 24:33he did, it's hard to put a player who was here for
- 24:36technically more than one season, but you know, really,
- 24:39really that one season, like despite how big of an
- 24:42accomplishment it was for me, I I just have a hard time putting
- 24:45him definitely not top five. Maybe he creep into the top 10.
- 24:48But that's my thoughts on that at least.
- 24:50But I love Chris Paul. I love what he did for us.
- 24:53Yeah, Yeah. Go ahead, Jack.
- 24:58Well, I'll be brief, but I think it I think he's top 10, but not
- 25:02quite top five, just everything that he got that high.
- 25:07Otherwise if he's top five because of his one season,
- 25:10Denelo Gallinari is probably up there as well.
- 25:13So. Well, he technically has two
- 25:17seasons because he played early on in his career in Oklahoma and
- 25:21then obviously not as a Thunder, basically.
- 25:24He played for that when the Hornets were going through, I
- 25:26believe, Hurricane Katrina. Yep, exactly.
- 25:29So he has more seasons here than James Harden, just to put it out
- 25:33there. Well, I think it's interesting.
- 25:38Top five is is tough. I mean, I'd have to think it
- 25:41out. Westbrook, you guys hate it, but
- 25:44Katie Shay, Gilgeous, Alexander, I'd probably put J Dub, J Dub up
- 25:48there in front of him. Now, you know what, no, I don't.
- 25:51I don't believe he's top five because I do think a lot of the
- 25:54guys who won the championship last year over him already.
- 25:57But that's not to undermine what he did in the in the 1920s
- 26:01season for us. Not only did he come in and, you
- 26:05know, kind of it kind of soft soften the blow of what was
- 26:10trading Russell Westbrook ended up going to the playoffs and
- 26:13forcing Westbrook and Harden to seven games.
- 26:15So that was fun. It was a fun season.
- 26:18I mean, nobody expected us to win that many games.
- 26:21He also was part of, like Gabe said, bringing up Shay.
- 26:26Shay and him still have a great relationship.
- 26:28They see each other from time to time throughout the season.
- 26:31You saw that on starting five. That has been cancelled, by the
- 26:35way, Starting five done for good.
- 26:38And I guess we could talk about that another time.
- 26:40But and, and, and the last thing is we traded for him and got
- 26:46some picks and we traded him away and got some more.
- 26:49So he did a lot other than just help us win individual
- 26:53basketball games in the, in the short period that he was here.
- 26:56So I'm actually sad to see that Chris Paul is retiring.
- 26:59It is his time and it definitely is his time.
- 27:01He's been declining over the last few years.
- 27:05But I, I, I respect the hell out of him.
- 27:08I never liked him as a like I hated him for a long time but
- 27:12now the respect is definitely there.
- 27:14I wish he could have won a championship and if the NBA
- 27:18didn't block the trade to LA they easily would have won a
- 27:21championship with him, Kobe and Dwight.
- 27:24So wish them all. Best of luck and definitely not
- 27:28top 5 though. Yeah, he's, he's one of those.
- 27:31He's probably at the top of those kind of players who you
- 27:34hate when they're not on your team and you really love him
- 27:36when you're on, when he is on your team because just an
- 27:39incredibly annoying player. I think it was specifically when
- 27:42he was on our team. We were playing the Timberwolves
- 27:44and he got the tech called because of their jerseys were
- 27:47untucked. If I was a Timberwolves fan, my
- 27:49remote would have been through my wall.
- 27:51I would have been crashing out. That is insane.
- 27:54But that's that's the kind of stuff he does.
- 27:56He he's sneaky, he's sly. It really short Side Story here
- 28:01that I just want to tell. I played soccer all throughout
- 28:03high school and when I was a freshman, my captain pulled me
- 28:05to the side and he was like, hey, I'm going to tell you this
- 28:07right now. You cannot succeed in the sport
- 28:09unless you know how to be sneaky and you're going to foul like
- 28:13he's like, I pull people's jerseys, pull on like you're
- 28:16going to have to do that or you will get bodied around.
- 28:19That is the kind of leader Chris Paul was.
- 28:21He, he knew, like, I'm gonna be sneaky, I'm gonna be dirty, but
- 28:25I'm gonna do it within the rules.
- 28:26Or if it's not within the rules, I'm gonna make sure the ref
- 28:28can't see it. And that's.
- 28:29And like, when you have a player like that in your team, you are
- 28:32all for that and you just love it.
- 28:35And then you play against him and it's like, this guy is the
- 28:37worst. So Joe, I also had never been
- 28:39like super fond of Chris Paul. We had him for one season and I
- 28:43was like, oh, shit, I I love this guy.
- 28:45Next year. Yeah.
- 28:47And then the next year he gets off our team.
- 28:48And I was like, do I have to still like, do I still like this
- 28:51guy? I can't tell.
- 28:52And like. I think I knew it was super odd
- 28:55because when he left, we weren't good for three years and he went
- 29:00to Phoenix and I kind of caught myself rooting for him a little
- 29:04bit while he was on the Suns. The Suns made the finals.
- 29:07They made a couple big playoff runs.
- 29:09Got some MVP votes on the Suns as well.
- 29:11Got some? MVP votes and and there's a
- 29:13clear reason why the Suns got Chris Paul and they went to the.
- 29:19He's a winning player. He he was always a winning
- 29:21player. And that's why it doesn't sit
- 29:22right with me that he didn't win a championship.
- 29:23I Yeah. But I do want to say he's still
- 29:25a Thunder legend for even the one season him and Gallegrini
- 29:29had they let us to the playoffs, whatever.
- 29:32But I think he's still a top eight player if we still think
- 29:35about it, even with the current roster having one rings, I still
- 29:38think he's up in the top 10. So that still puts you in, you
- 29:42know, legendary status within a team in an organization that's
- 29:46pretty young. And I think his chapter will
- 29:49always kind of be remembered as, you know, post Russ keeping us
- 29:53afloat. And then from him, the trades
- 29:56really began with like him, Horford and all the other guys.
- 29:59We continuously flipped over and over that turned into the roster
- 30:03that we had today. And then his, you know,
- 30:05dedication to the Thunder as AI think he won rookie of the year
- 30:10on the Hornets when he was when the team relocated here.
- 30:13And then also on top of it, the mentoring he's got with Shay.
- 30:17But I do want to get over to kind of my Part B here.
- 30:21Gabe, can you transition me over?
- 30:24Yeah, I know we were kind of talking about Chris Paul here
- 30:27and that's all good. But let's discuss some injury
- 30:30things related with OKC. If you want to get into that
- 30:32savvier, go ahead. Yeah.
- 30:34So the first thing I think that I want to mention is Shay is
- 30:40questionable with an illness. It is kind of we're changing
- 30:44weather right now. So it could just be, you know,
- 30:48we don't know, I guess the scope of the illness or anything like
- 30:51that. But it hopefully it's not
- 30:53anything too serious and it's just a cold or something like
- 30:55that. Say it again.
- 30:58Just need some vitamin C. Yeah, that's probably what it
- 31:02is. I do want to say it'll have some
- 31:05effects on the roster. AJ's role should expand.
- 31:08Chet will become the top scoring option for us.
- 31:11Isaiah Joe's spacing becomes even more critical for us.
- 31:15And the returning player that we have is Kenrich Willing.
- 31:19Kenrich Williams right now, he's no longer on the injury report.
- 31:22He's officially cleared. He's missed the 1st 18 games.
- 31:25He's going to have that toughness defense and he brings
- 31:28a lot of stability in his 15 minutes of play that he usually
- 31:31comes in with. And he's also just another
- 31:33hustle man out there. We just need an extra body that
- 31:35knows knows what to do. He'll lead the pack with
- 31:39communication. I think just having Hartenstein
- 31:42as the sole communicator and maybe Caruso out there is also a
- 31:46communicator. But Kenridge adds that value
- 31:48just as much as those two guys do.
- 31:50And then on top of it, we do have two updates on the injury
- 31:55report with Aaron Wiggins getting closer to progressing
- 31:58with his injury. So he should be kind of knocking
- 32:02on the door here for Matt, Mark Dagnell.
- 32:05He'll add that energy, that defense that we need, just that
- 32:09extra, I guess, overall stability.
- 32:12He's a very, I guess, neutral player.
- 32:14He brings everything to the table.
- 32:17And then on top of it, J Dubs also getting kind of that same
- 32:22quote progress being made. So I think their timetable is
- 32:26probably the same like 2 weeks out, one week out.
- 32:30But they have started at least warming up.
- 32:32So, you know, early December, as I mentioned on their injury
- 32:36report, before this report was officially released.
- 32:39So awesome. There we go.
- 32:43All right. Well, with that, I think we can
- 32:45kind of get into our last topic here, which is more of a little
- 32:48a fun activity that Jack's got for us.
- 32:50So Jack, take it away. Yeah, the last couple weeks have
- 32:55been. So I would like to reiterate
- 33:01that this is very hypothetical, so don't attack me, but we are
- 33:06going to be, Yeah, like I said. All right, so with our last
- 33:12little topic, we have more of a fun event here that Jack came up
- 33:16with. So Jack, what's this?
- 33:17What's this activity that we're doing today?
- 33:20We're going to be playing the Jalen Williams trade gauntlet.
- 33:23But I would like to say a little disclaimer, I would never trade
- 33:26Jalen Williams. I wouldn't want to trade Jalen
- 33:27Williams. So don't don't get mad at me.
- 33:31But this is just hypothetical. And then the other three are
- 33:38going to say yes or no whether they trade Jalen Williams
- 33:41straight up to him. You don't have to think what
- 33:46would be included in the trade package is just a one for one
- 33:49player swap. And yeah, all right, so I'm
- 33:54going to say Jimmy Butler. Oh, not right now, no.
- 34:03No. Definitely not.
- 34:04Yeah, no shot. No thank you.
- 34:07Hypothetically, no thank you. Tyrese Maxi.
- 34:14Oh, he's balling. I wanted Tyrese Maxey out of his
- 34:18draft class class and I really wish we were able to draft him
- 34:22but he doesn't fit the OK C roster so no thank you.
- 34:27And I'm going to say no because of the mostly the big thing is
- 34:29the size and the physicality that J Dub brings.
- 34:32Being able to guard one through 5.
- 34:33Maxi cannot do that. So Maxi would bring peer
- 34:37scoring, but we don't need another peer scorer like that's
- 34:40what Shay does for us. Dub can provide his scoring, but
- 34:43it's the defense that I think keeps.
- 34:44When Tyrese Maxi scores a a 40 ball in the finals, we can start
- 34:50talking about that maybe, but not not close for me at all.
- 34:53What does? That beer is going.
- 34:57To have an aneurysm. Yeah.
- 34:59I'm. I'm trading Jade up for Tyrese
- 35:02Maxi. Give them, give them to me.
- 35:04I'm out of here. You guys can answer the rest of
- 35:05these. OK.
- 35:07Hypothetically. Yeah, I'm doing that
- 35:10hypothetically. Well, you can continue playing
- 35:14long, but Next up is Alper and Sangoon.
- 35:17No. No, no, get his ass in here.
- 35:21I hate that guy. I hate Alfred seeing you so
- 35:24much. Oh.
- 35:26Man. Valuable than Cason Wallace, so
- 35:28get him out. Oh man.
- 35:29Little little mini rockets ran there.
- 35:32Oh man, I don't like I'm. I'm glad we're all on the same
- 35:35page, Evan Mobley. Oh the the the interior defense
- 35:41would be insane. This is pain.
- 35:42For J dub. I, I would, I would trade him
- 35:45for Evan Mobley, I would trade him for.
- 35:47Him I'm not doing. That we'd have 3 bigs then.
- 35:50I would I I mean, I'm fine with Zen using Hartford.
- 35:54Oh my God. Evan, dude, Evan, Mobley and
- 35:57Shetland, we're on the same team.
- 35:58Is ridiculous to think about. Evan Mobley shoots like Evan
- 36:02Mobley shoots like 25% from the free throw line.
- 36:05Give me J dub and J dub clamped his ass last year but we had no
- 36:09centers. Give me J dub.
- 36:11That's fair, but I I am a big evidently 1. 7.
- 36:16Yeah, I'm not doing an Evan Ogly for J Dub.
- 36:20He brings the same amount of defense, better offense, so I'm
- 36:23good. Devin Booker.
- 36:28No next. Devin Booker four years ago.
- 36:32Yeah, yeah. All right, Next up, Carl Anthony
- 36:36Towns. Who?
- 36:39Carl Anthony the big per no get his ass out of here.
- 36:45I don't want to watch every game.
- 36:46I don't want to watch my center scream every single time he
- 36:49touches the ball. You think people would call us
- 36:51free throw merchants now? Wait till we have cat on our
- 36:53team. Holy shit.
- 36:56We'll see a significant defensive drop off.
- 37:00Yeah, as a team. So no, thank you.
- 37:01Yeah, that too. Cat.
- 37:02Cat is great, though. Cat is an incredible player,
- 37:05but. He he's an incredible human
- 37:07being. Next.
- 37:08Yes, he is. Yes, he's an awesome guy.
- 37:09But I I'm good. Next.
- 37:12But. Jalen Brown.
- 37:17No, he can't dribble his left. Hand if we're if we're floppers
- 37:20now, dude, we're fucked after getting him.
- 37:23I. Actually go what game?
- 37:26I like Jalen Brown like I do, but I just don't think we would
- 37:30need a player like that. In the defense that Jada brings
- 37:32compared to Jaylen Brown is night and day.
- 37:35I actually think that maybe Satvier and I did a video over
- 37:38the summer. I think we both agreed that J
- 37:41Dub cleared Jaylen Brown after last year.
- 37:44I agree. So we'll keep Jaydub.
- 37:47Keep it moving. Next up I have Paolo Banchera.
- 37:51Yeah, Yeah, this is yeah, I'm doing that.
- 37:56I love Paulo. I think Paulo's so, so good.
- 38:00I I would absolutely do that. I mean, you're taking a dip in
- 38:03the offense or the defense, but Paulo is so damned all.
- 38:07But like, I just love Paulo. I'm a Duke fan and I've watched
- 38:12Paulo probably more than you guys have overall and I don't
- 38:17know something about his game doesn't equate to winning.
- 38:20The more I see him in the NBA, like with the amount of ball
- 38:23usage and like he needs the ball in his hands for his size, I
- 38:27don't really prefer that type of player.
- 38:29He kind of reminds me of like Carmelo Anthony, so I'm good on
- 38:32him. Yeah, I kind of agree with that.
- 38:35There's a little bit of rumblings over there in Orlando
- 38:37that Paulo might want out soon. There's maybe a little bit of
- 38:40disconnect from him and the coach.
- 38:42I don't need that on my team. I'll take J of.
- 38:47Next up I have Pascal's Yakim. No, dude.
- 38:51Nah, get spinny P out of here. Dude, just go next please.
- 38:56Joe's thinking about it a little bit here, yeah.
- 38:58I can, I can. See, no, I was thinking about
- 39:00it. Dude, Joe's getting flashbacks
- 39:02to what he did. He's getting some.
- 39:04Dunks. But no, no, I don't.
- 39:06I don't. No, no, no.
- 39:08OK. Next up, Kevin Durant.
- 39:12Hell no. That's just rage bait next.
- 39:17Sorry, sorry I got. Yes, I'm joking.
- 39:21I'm joking. I'm joking.
- 39:22I'm joking. Joe, I was just going to look at
- 39:24you. I wasn't even going to say
- 39:25anything. I was going to give you the most
- 39:26disappointed. All.
- 39:30Right, guys, you. Were doing last year.
- 39:31Sorry Jack, I think I argued last year during our trade
- 39:33deadline episode where we were talking about guys like to get.
- 39:37Yeah, I believe. You I don't, I don't even think
- 39:38I was for KD with J dub on the team, so I'm good.
- 39:43Yeah. Anthony Edwards, OH.
- 39:49That's the one. That's the one right there.
- 39:51Yeah, for me, that's the one. I so strongly dislike Anthony
- 39:55Edwards with every bone in my body.
- 39:58I don't care if he no, I don't care if he's better than J Dub.
- 40:01I would not I. Said come on, dude.
- 40:05No, I can't do that. No, I can't.
- 40:08Is. That a yes for you 7.
- 40:10Yeah, that means a dog, bro. That means a dog believe, I
- 40:13believe there's. I believe there's like 3 or 4
- 40:17players that I'd consider trading J dub for.
- 40:21Hypothetically. I would never trade J dub by the
- 40:23way, putting that out there disclaimer, but Edwards
- 40:28absolutely is 1 of. Them here.
- 40:30Here's a serious thing to think about though is I I really do
- 40:33struggle to see how Shay and Ant could both it.
- 40:35Doesn't matter. I think Ant would be demanding
- 40:38the ball way more than he should be.
- 40:40It doesn't. I also hate Ant, so I'm just
- 40:42going to be incredibly I. Promise you the problem there
- 40:45Gabe, is with AI think he fits pretty well because he's a deep,
- 40:50he's a good shooter and I don't think he demands the ball as
- 40:54much as you think there's. Times where in.
- 40:58Minnesota that he's not. I mean, maybe that was the Lou
- 41:01Dort effect, but didn't. Have the ball.
- 41:04It was the Lou Dort effect absolutely because when minute,
- 41:06when he's on the court, especially this year, he is the
- 41:09one with the ball because no one else is worth a shit.
- 41:12I mean, he has to be, but I, I think with his attitude and, and
- 41:16the way he I just, I just don't know how well that would work.
- 41:19I I don't know, I would have a hard time seeing our.
- 41:21Scoring figure. It.
- 41:24Out. We're down to the last three
- 41:26now. I'm going to go one at a time.
- 41:30Victor Wimpenyama. No no, I'm taking J Dub because
- 41:37Victor Wimpenyama's career is going to last like 9 years.
- 41:42Not wishing injury, it's just hard for a big guy like that 7
- 41:45foot 6 to keep a a long career. Like John Beads.
- 41:49Kind of similar to him. He's had a decently tended
- 41:53career, but he hasn't played in two years because of the wear
- 41:57and tear on his body. Joe, I get what you're saying,
- 41:59but the other side of that is we would also win nine straight
- 42:02chips. No, I don't want I don't want
- 42:06the the seven foot six guy who goes 4 for 16 in a game.
- 42:10It doesn't make sense to me. I'll take.
- 42:12Jada, it's not doing a whole lot of that.
- 42:13This year he had 9/4. No, that was this year.
- 42:17No, I'm saying he's not doing a whole lot of that.
- 42:19Against the Phoenix Suns. Yeah, he he's had, he's had some
- 42:22off games. He's also had a lot more really
- 42:24good, efficient. He's never had four.
- 42:26So is that a? Is that a yes from you guy?
- 42:30Oh man, I I'll say, I'll say no, but I'm.
- 42:37Saying no as well, it's kind of close, but with it is close, his
- 42:42injury history is kind of getting worse and worse year by
- 42:46year so. And he shoots a lower field goal
- 42:49percentage than our point guard. So does most players.
- 42:55Yeah, but. Next UPS I'm very interested for
- 42:59this one, Nicola Jokic. Yes bro just say yes and move.
- 43:07On you don't even know what I would trade.
- 43:09Just say yes and move on. You, I don't think you can say
- 43:14no. Like you can try to come up with
- 43:16a reason, but there is no it's not going to sound good.
- 43:21Right. So that's the first one we will
- 43:23agreed on so far. And then the last one, which in
- 43:26my opinion is a definite is Giannis.
- 43:31Yeah, yeah, I think Shay, the way you guys were acting about
- 43:36Shay and Ant is how I would feel about Shay and Giannis.
- 43:39Like I think we would just never lose a game ever.
- 43:42I'm pretty sure we would win the next like 300 games in a row
- 43:45like Shay. That would be ridiculous.
- 43:49That would be terrible for the league for.
- 43:50For me, I'm saying no and I'm serious.
- 43:54OK. I'm saying no because you can
- 43:59have a lot of superstars on the same team, but if you put out a
- 44:02lineup of Shay, Giannis, and Hartenstein, there's not much
- 44:07shooting in there at all and it's going to be clogged
- 44:10completely. For Shay to create Giannis off
- 44:14the ball isn't fantastic as well.
- 44:16I think J Dub fits with Shay much better than Giannis would.
- 44:19J Dub made big threes in the playoffs when Shay was getting
- 44:22double teamed in the paint. Giannis wouldn't be able to do
- 44:24that. Counter argue there's hundred
- 44:27points in the paint. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:30And. Just guard the paint.
- 44:33Just guard Giannis. How's that been working in the
- 44:35last four years? Like you can't.
- 44:37Just won anything? You can't just.
- 44:39He has he. Has though.
- 44:41He's won MVPS, he's won the finals, he won deploy in.
- 44:45The past four years I mean, what do you what do you win 2021
- 44:47right fine the last three years he hasn't won anything It's.
- 44:50The Milwaukee with Bucks back to the Finals?
- 44:52Come on. Bro a line up of Hardenstein,
- 44:55Shea, Giannis and who we are starting to and Lou Dort.
- 45:00You you would you would probably alternate certain things around
- 45:03it to put shooting around. Have heart be the one that comes
- 45:05in for Chet or Giannis. That way you're not having that
- 45:08on the court. Like you can still use heart off
- 45:11the bench, but a starting line up of like Shay Dort, you can
- 45:15have you can have chat. You would have chat for the
- 45:17shooting. You have Shay who has been
- 45:18shooting efficiently from three this year.
- 45:20We know he can. Shoot.
- 45:21And you have Isaiah Joe, we have Kayson, we have Wiggins, we have
- 45:25Shoot, we have guys who could step up.
- 45:26And then you have Yanis who Shay and Yanis are going to single.
- 45:30Handedly. We're winning three games, bro.
- 45:33Yeah. Yeah, I'm taking Jalen Williams.
- 45:42We got to call it there, boys. There's no way.
- 45:44Yeah. That's.
- 45:46Not like the paint clog the paint.
- 45:50Yeah, I love clogging the paint. That that's a, that's an area
- 45:55where I clog it all you want. We're still going to score
- 45:57effortlessly. Not a lot of lanes for SGA to go
- 46:00when there's 5 right in the middle of the paint I.
- 46:03Don't think they're going to have all five players in the
- 46:05paint. They would if that was the line
- 46:06up. Well.
- 46:09I I'm playing, I'm playing a zone every minute of every game
- 46:14and I want you with Jay, Giannis, Dort and Chet to beat
- 46:19me from the three-point line. I don't think you're going to.
- 46:21They're not going to the three-point line in.
- 46:24My zone, Who in my zone? They're going to have to be in
- 46:27the. OK, here, here's the thing by
- 46:29what you're saying. Yeah, Like if if you look at if
- 46:32you look at like a whiteboard and look at how this would work,
- 46:34Yeah, that would work. But who is stopping Giannis?
- 46:38Who is? Who is?
- 46:39They give me some paint. How does that work?
- 46:42That's what people do now and it doesn't work.
- 46:44You can't stop Giannis. Giannis.
- 46:46The zone that. Denver.
- 46:47The zone that Denver played against OKC last year would have
- 46:50been more effective what Giannis on the team.
- 46:54I can agree it would be more effective.
- 46:56I still think we'd win, of course.
- 46:57Two of the best slashing players in the league, SGA and J Dub to
- 47:01kick to 4 three-point shooters. We went and we went to seven
- 47:05games. Hold on, I am.
- 47:08We went to seven games. I'm bringing stats into this.
- 47:11This is getting agreed. We don't need stats.
- 47:14Brother, he's averaging. He's.
- 47:17Averaging 3110 and seven on 50% from the three-point line and
- 47:2362% from the field goal, he's shooting the highest.
- 47:27Yeah, I would like to go. For regular season and nobody
- 47:31plays zone. He's Giannis has had like a 20
- 47:35assists game this year. He's assisting and that's with
- 47:38the Bucks. You got to admit, the Thunder
- 47:41have better role-playing three and D shooters than the Bucks
- 47:44do. He's also averaging 2.
- 47:46He's averaging 2 stocks, one steal and a block every game.
- 47:49Like bruh. Exactly.
- 47:52Yeah, and and put them on a team together and then throw chip.
- 47:55J Dub J Dub was averaging more than two stocks last year, too.
- 47:59We are not. We cannot argue if we're going
- 48:02to bring up like J Dub just as a player.
- 48:03We cannot argue that he is better than the honest like.
- 48:06I will make no, I'm not arguing. That OK, OK.
- 48:09OK, I will make you shoot a three every possession or I'm
- 48:14going to foul the hell out of Giannis and you're not going to
- 48:17beat me in A7 game series. I I just don't think, I don't
- 48:20think it's going to be that easy to stop the other player.
- 48:22You think Shay is just going to get stopped?
- 48:24Shay does not get stopped. Shay will get his 30.
- 48:27They had tough times against his own until they learn to put him
- 48:30or Jade up in the middle and then kick to a three-point
- 48:33shooter and we actually made some shots.
- 48:36A three-point shooter, as in the same ones that would be there if
- 48:38we had Giannis. The reason we went to seven
- 48:41games last year is because we weren't shooting effectively
- 48:44enough against that zone and the shooting would get 10 times
- 48:47worse with J Dub off the team with and and Yanis on, they
- 48:52would have beaten us. Oh man, I think, I think we're
- 48:55just going to have to end it there.
- 48:56This our this debate could go on for forever.
- 49:00Yanis has figured out how to shoot the mid range as well, so
- 49:03it's like. It's not about, it's not about
- 49:05mid range, it's not about mid range.
- 49:06It's about 3 point shooting in that zone.
- 49:09You don't need 3 point shooting to win games.
- 49:12We we should know that. OK, well.
- 49:17Jack, whatever, whatever. Whatever, Jack.
- 49:19Great hypothetical there. Yeah, I'm sorry, but that goes
- 49:23down this rabbit hole. You did good there.
- 49:25You did good there. I got dub.
- 49:28I got dub in my 2. OK, well, thank you guys for
