- 0:02Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Christian
- 0:06Reeve podcast. Today, we have Dutch deals
- 0:11returning to the show friend of the show.
- 0:13So For those who don't know, who haven't listened to the first
- 0:17podcast. What are you doing?
- 0:19Why haven't you watched the first podcast?
- 0:21Go check that out. Basically Dutch deals.
- 0:24If you aren't familiar with him, he is a YouTuber up-and-coming
- 0:28YouTuber. It's one of our younger guests,
- 0:32and he has a lot of things he wants to say.
- 0:35I've got some interesting points additional points to ask him
- 0:39about it. Anyway, enough rambling, hello?
- 0:42And welcome back to the show. How you doing?
- 0:44Watch How's it going? It's going very well.
- 0:47It's going very well. But let's make this solely about
- 0:50you because you've got a lot of exciting stuff going on.
- 0:54I want to ask you right off the bat.
- 0:57About your GCSE results. My GCSE results that dreaded
- 1:01results were email to me this morning.
- 1:04I've got them here if you would like me to read them out.
- 1:09Yeah, I mean, if you doubt if you're up for that if you're
- 1:12fine with that, I'm more than happy to do that we can compare
- 1:16because I can tell you what mine were.
- 1:18Okay, I'm sure you. Trump me in every department.
- 1:22So, let's see, I'll go, I'll go from the bottom up because they
- 1:28seem to be in some sort of descending order.
- 1:31Oh yeah, I remember this, but when I got my results, I spent.
- 1:36It was the same for a level. I spent a good five minutes.
- 1:38It's because I don't know what you have, but we got the slips,
- 1:43which aren't even any certificates or anything.
- 1:46It's just random Bits of Paper and I like really, this is the
- 1:48result. This is what the results are on,
- 1:50just pieces of fucking indeterminate paper.
- 1:53It's gonna make that they really get you like nervous and anxious
- 1:59and pain up and Alloys. So important which uses his the
- 2:02so important. And then when you finally get
- 2:04it, set up a piece of paper, you know what piece of paper.
- 2:08Yeah. The further away P.
- 2:09Yeah. And in a mess as well, like, I
- 2:11looked at mine and spent a good five or ten minutes.
- 2:14Just trying to understand what I was looking I was like, is this
- 2:17good is what? Like, just because it'd be one
- 2:20thing if they literally just listed all the letters and then
- 2:22that's it. But you have to go through all
- 2:24these different pieces of paper and some of its not actually the
- 2:27grade, it's like now already. We have a discrepancy, if you
- 2:32will, and the form of I haven't numbers.
- 2:35Now, the new grading system involves numbers rather than
- 2:38leather, Others. So do this every couple of years
- 2:41then they okay. All right, so presumably then,
- 2:45what's the highest number you can get.
- 2:46And what's that equivalent to? And grade form the highest you
- 2:50can get as a 9 which is essentially an ace like plus
- 2:54plus again, why do they do this? Why can't they just do like one
- 2:58a to be to donate like yeah, exactly.
- 3:02Like why is there plus is now as well?
- 3:04Is this a is that is this Maria and why does it have to be
- 3:07opposite as? Why is like nine have to be the
- 3:10highest number? I'm sorry this shit because a
- 3:15because a which is, you know like the best that is the first
- 3:19letter of the alphabet so it should be 1.
- 3:21Yes. I mean a degree level.
- 3:27It's like that. Yes.
- 3:28First is the high grade and then a 21 is like a I suppose it
- 3:36depends. I mean I kind of saw It as like
- 3:39a bee but some people say, like a first is like, an, A and then
- 3:43or a star and then it's 21, as I can in a, but then it depends if
- 3:46you have honors on top of that and such, but the point being
- 3:50that like, it sounds like it's a similar grading system at least
- 3:55two things like a levels and stuff now, but this whole I just
- 3:59hate the fact that they keep changing back and forth and back
- 4:02and forth. But okay, so we know that number
- 4:049 is the highest number But one is just just quit.
- 4:11Just could just quit. What you're doing to give it a
- 4:13we actually before you continue. I'll explain some of the grades.
- 4:16We had that were funny. So obviously it was like a star
- 4:192D was like, so I start to see was like pass D was like, you
- 4:25know, it's past but it's like, you know, not a good pass or
- 4:30whatever. I don't know.
- 4:32I suppose C was counted as a past, D was like, it's not great
- 4:35but it's not like the worst thing ever.
- 4:37Then you got an E, I think. No, I think you got their faith,
- 4:43which was, yeah, fail. And then this is what I never
- 4:47understood. So like you had like a you which
- 4:50could mean either that you did so badly that they couldn't give
- 4:54you a grade or you just didn't turn up and I was like, well
- 4:57what's the point of having that? Like why not just have a like
- 5:00this is a you as well and I was told that it means undetermined
- 5:04so they couldn't grow it. Okay.
- 5:08So so basically, when you're when you're starting lessons and
- 5:11say like your seven like the first year of comp for the
- 5:16actually older viewers or listeners depending on what
- 5:20you're listening on you is in you as undetermined.
- 5:25So they just can't, they just can't grow it.
- 5:29You still get because this is genuine like people would get
- 5:32this when I was going to school. Do you still get graded or You
- 5:37grades or no some mock, sorry, marks is what I mean.
- 5:40Do you get marks for writing down your name and the date on
- 5:43the paper? No, but for some reason, I've
- 5:47noticed a couple times with the, with the, the older teachers,
- 5:52mr. Irvine, I'm talking at you right
- 5:55here. You would eat wood ticket.
- 5:59I used to find that hilarious. Like, why?
- 6:01Why not taking my name? You are done you.
- 6:04You've written your name. Is he is he trying to stop
- 6:08identity fraud or something? You like, you single-handedly
- 6:10bringing it down. I just remember that as a weird,
- 6:12really weird thing. We used to joke about it to each
- 6:14other, but I think genuinely this was more for English and
- 6:18stuff like that, but you would get great.
- 6:20So, marks for that, like, at least a couple of marks, just
- 6:23for filling filling it out. So just putting your name the
- 6:26day, like the module Number whatever, like mud.
- 6:31Alright man. Alright, anyway, but in terms
- 6:33of, in terms of My GCSE results of for is a week, pass a 5 as a
- 6:40strong pass, and then anything more than a five is, is
- 6:43excellent. Anything lower than a for.
- 6:46It's a big epic fail. Epic fail.
- 6:49Okay. This is kind of what confuses
- 6:50me. So you said that the nine is
- 6:52like a star star. Is that right?
- 6:56Or a plus plus, it's essentially.
- 6:58And then It is an A+, okay? Seven is an A okay.
- 7:03So so he's 54 like a bee. So here's what we'll do, right?
- 7:06So 77 we know is an a like and then plus that is like just
- 7:12bonus, right? Yeah.
- 7:13And then what's our CRC is like a 5?
- 7:16Then ya know, like 6 and 5 are like a bee for, is the sea and
- 7:22then Okun to and ones just five - okay.
- 7:26So so anything below a for is Bad basically.
- 7:30Yeah, you don't want that. If it's a blow for cool, that'll
- 7:33help us understand the results. Better than pushing turn a push
- 7:38into. Ash of geography, was a 3 and I
- 7:41have to admit, I did not try and that lesson because my teacher
- 7:45was a nap. Or I have this.
- 7:48I have to censor myself before YouTube does.
- 7:50But it's, I hated, I never tried.
- 7:55She sent me out all the time. So in return, I didn't do any
- 7:58work. Another result three.
- 8:01I had a few subjects that were like that and I got frustrated
- 8:06actually towards the end so the ones I tell you my grades at the
- 8:11end so we can compare but like I'll just quickly tell this one
- 8:13story so like in some of the subjects in year 9 and year 10.
- 8:20So for those who aren't English or International guests, 90-year
- 8:25nine or ten is a roughly 13 14. Ish.
- 8:30So I would mess around and stuff and then it got serious.
- 8:33Like, you're 10, obviously, I took it seriously.
- 8:36And in those lessons, I struggled with the bad teachers.
- 8:39I would get frustrated at them and I remember actually arguing
- 8:41with the teachers and saying, like look why are you not trying
- 8:45hardest with us? Like, we're really struggling
- 8:47like really badly, we really need the help and you're not
- 8:50giving it and they would just make up some lame excuses.
- 8:54But I know you're not applying yourself probably will and it's
- 8:57like, no, you're not teaching me properly.
- 8:59And you're more invested in these people that are going to
- 9:01get a stars for definite rather than it's also a logical.
- 9:06If you've got a bunch of people that are definitely going to get
- 9:09a stars to see or something, right?
- 9:11Shouldn't you help them less? Yeah, because they're pretty
- 9:15much a sure bet. Whereas, the ones that are like
- 9:20teetering, I realize you're going to have a few people that
- 9:23are hopeless. I understand that you should
- 9:24still try with them, but I get that.
- 9:26But like, a lot of us were not like, Hopeless in those lessons,
- 9:30it was like, if you push us we could definitely at least get
- 9:33the C, which would bump up your overall, average, making you
- 9:36look like a better teacher, so everyone's I will exactly.
- 9:40Anyway, so moving on to the first pass, I actually received
- 9:45this in your tent because that's when we did the English
- 9:50literature we can in your turn and then language all the way
- 9:53through 11 English literature was a 4.
- 9:57So that was a, that was a week. Ask that.
- 10:00But that was before my teacher change.
- 10:02I will say I struggled with lit. I think I got a bet.
- 10:06What again will come to the grades but like out of the two
- 10:09language, I did better and literature was tough.
- 10:13It was tough exam. Ours was filled with like
- 10:15remembering loads and loads of poetry off by heart.
- 10:20You have to yeah, to yeah, to recite 15 poems.
- 10:24Just few of them to be on. Oh my God, it hasn't changed.
- 10:29No, and my God, I did Macbeth An Inspector Calls.
- 10:34Oh my God. They're still doing the hurt if
- 10:38her a lot. I hate my birthday just to put
- 10:40this into perspective. I finished school in 2011 I took
- 10:47my gcses in. Yeah 21 no sorry.
- 10:52Wonder when 2011 I finished my gcses in 2009, right?
- 10:57And So yeah, I took my gcses that year and in 11 years, the
- 11:06curriculum has not changed, not are we still doing in
- 11:10spectacles, and Macbeth? Well, okay, I'll give them a
- 11:13better path because it's, you know, it's Shakespeare, it's
- 11:15yeah, but Inspector Calls. Come on, you do better than
- 11:18that, they don't care, I don't care.
- 11:20I don't care about that book of being a bit squiffy.
- 11:22I don't even remember the fellas name, okay?
- 11:24I'm gonna shoot some, some stuff that we had to do and you tell
- 11:27me if it's still in the curriculum, All right, 11 years.
- 11:30People 11, okay Skellig. I don't think they do that
- 11:37anymore now. Okay, thank God.
- 11:43I think stone cold or something Stone.
- 11:46Something. So if I'd only I think I've ever
- 11:50heard that, okay, that's fine. Lord of the Flies, yes.
- 11:56So well that when it varies school to school, but I remember
- 12:00that. That was a potential.
- 12:02I think something up in the north in the Northeast that I
- 12:04think they still do it all of the schools in my area, do lot
- 12:08of the Flies that's older than our school.
- 12:11So that's that's been around since like maybe the 70s or the
- 12:1580s. Ask my dad if he's done it then
- 12:20probably yeah. Okay.
- 12:23Of Mice and Men? Yes.
- 12:26Okay. I will give credit to that.
- 12:28That is actually a good. Look at the flow.
- 12:30Look at that, tell me the story about the rabbits George look at
- 12:34the clothes Lenny. True story when we read that
- 12:37book and I actually we analyzed it to death and I'm pretty sure
- 12:42that that author did not go into that much depth and imagery when
- 12:45he was writing that book, I sure he laced it with a bunch of
- 12:48historical Called content and imagery and then everything.
- 12:51But not to the extent that we analyzed the fuck out of that
- 12:55book, but I was so disappointed. When we watch the movie in
- 12:59class, I was like, it was totally the perfect example, of
- 13:02how the book is better than the film, because I felt like the
- 13:06character of Lenny, although he was supposed to be stupid and
- 13:13you know, mentally ill, I suppose The movie made him out
- 13:18to be a so much more stupid than he actually was like, so like he
- 13:22was relatively own say that well, spoken in the book but
- 13:26like he could. Okay.
- 13:29That's just genius. Don't talk though.
- 13:33He didn't talk like that. Like, I know.
- 13:35Like that's it, that's the mentally ill because I don't
- 13:44know if it's that fight. I think it's nuts.
- 13:47They couldn't, they definitely couldn't do that.
- 13:48Now, Because of course, it would pick up on that you could.
- 13:53I mean if it I think it depends on the although it depends on
- 13:56the character like my issue, right?
- 13:59They got John Malkovich who is an amazing actor to play this
- 14:04part and I was like, okay, great, you're good cast, you
- 14:08know, it's a great story, how can you mess this up?
- 14:11And for me, that one thing messed it up, everything else
- 14:15was all right, you know, it was a fairly decent adaptation, but
- 14:18that particular Aspect of it just ruined the whole thing for
- 14:23me, it was like, this is nothing like that.
- 14:26I don't know. It's all right.
- 14:29Anyway, I just don't think of other ones, dude, you have to do
- 14:34any poetry or remember any, poetry by Simon Armitage.
- 14:40I heard of that name. Yeah, okay.
- 14:42So at some point, you might have maybe did that earlier?
- 14:45I'm not sure what pieces, he did, but I'm pretty sure I've
- 14:48heard he did, okay? So this this is this is changed
- 14:52right? When I was at school.
- 14:54We did we had a couple of poems that were controversial and I
- 14:57think either Simon Armitage or someone else wrote a poem about
- 15:03basically a homeless guy who was taken in a cab and basically
- 15:10it's like the driver basically throws him out of the cab and
- 15:14like curb Stomps him. I shit you not.
- 15:18This was in, GCSE poetry that we have to read and then like a
- 15:23year later they were like yeah maybe this is a bit
- 15:26inappropriate so we're maybe might take this off the
- 15:31curriculum, but it was never like we're doing this and I was
- 15:33like I remember we remember some names.
- 15:36Have you heard of porphyria's lover or climbing my
- 15:40grandfather? Well.
- 15:44So is there was literally a poem About this person climbing up,
- 15:49the grant their grandfather. Oh okay.
- 15:53Sorry, I'm just like like like getting getting to the leg and
- 15:56they gone up like this, the hip. And then going up to the beard,
- 16:00it's not sex. It's just a weird poem.
- 16:03It's just it's not it's not. It's a sexual, it's just messed
- 16:06up. I just remember there being like
- 16:08sexual dodgy stuff. I mean, I guess you could say it
- 16:12was very experimental and such, but I just porphyria's lover,
- 16:15was a bit sexual, it's weird innit like, was it?
- 16:19But it wasn't blatant. It was just, it was sort of
- 16:21hidden. Tucked away in the poem If like
- 16:23if you read into it a bit you know it but if you just sort of
- 16:26skimmed over the top of the Palm you wouldn't really notice.
- 16:29I think things are like sexual themes are fine to explore in
- 16:33historical contexts but I think that it's still should be
- 16:36limited by its very. I mean you can you can really do
- 16:42some psychological damage we're exposing people to that young
- 16:46age and yeah, it never really bothered me because I mean
- 16:49fucking hours playing like Grand Theft Auto the age of 10.
- 16:52It had no ending like impact on me at all.
- 16:56And I feel totally. I mean Gore in real life, like
- 17:00if I see somebody bleeding, it's awful.
- 17:02I think everyone is like, yeah, I can log in to GTA and start
- 17:06kicking the shit over random fat woman and not feel any sort of
- 17:09remorse. I'm any made but know that it's
- 17:11not real. Hmm.
- 17:13Yeah, I'm a dime. You sleep.
- 17:23Just pour in the concept of and like this is real, they could
- 17:25die of blood loss or something. I said this in a podcast, I did
- 17:31a solo one recently on a If Video Games harmful and I was
- 17:36just exploring both sides. Generally my thought is that
- 17:40they're not but I look at it as like it's up to the parents
- 17:45really to fully kind of explain everything and make sure kids
- 17:50are just understand. Being that, you know, there is
- 17:53this disconnect. And I think a lot of us like
- 17:55myself yourself, like, you know, we just understood.
- 17:59We were quite smart kid. So we just understood.
- 18:01There is a disconnect, there is a big difference between, you
- 18:04know, messing around on Grand Theft Auto versus like getting
- 18:06into a real fight in real life. Like, there's like, people
- 18:09people like, oh, I can, I can drive a car using using my
- 18:13fingers. So, surely I can drive a car in
- 18:16real life, it's actually not the case.
- 18:18I I've been doing some private driving.
- 18:22Lessons, my dad's been talk, teach me how to drive.
- 18:25Trust me when I tell you, it's not as easy as you think, it's
- 18:29absolutely not. I remember, like, I've never,
- 18:32I've driven I've driven, but I've never driven like, a
- 18:36full-on car by have driven a boat and that, that is so
- 18:45unbelievably sensitive, like, so many times, I nearly crashed us
- 18:49into like, you know, all the boats.
- 18:52Or like, I think once I went over to the Lake District and I
- 18:55and I drove a ball. It wasn't as sensitive because
- 18:58it wasn't like one of like it, like, it wasn't like a speedboat
- 19:01or anything, that was like huge. It was just sort of like a
- 19:04gentle small-engined passenger boat.
- 19:07Mmm. It's sort of sensitive in the
- 19:10way that you have to feel the way the boat moves, but it
- 19:13wasn't sort of like doing. This isn't going to throw you
- 19:16over there. It all depends on the water
- 19:18actually. It's all it all comes down to
- 19:20physics at the end of the day. Yep.
- 19:22Everything normally does. All right, let's just take take
- 19:26it back to you. So yeah, you told us that you
- 19:29got a foreign English lit. And then what did you get in in
- 19:32language, language, I got a five.
- 19:35Okay. All right.
- 19:36That's because my, like my creative writing is much better
- 19:39than me. Looking at something and then
- 19:41writing about it, I much prefer just to pour out of my brain
- 19:45onto the page and then arrange it.
- 19:49You said you said the fall was a C or D for for the, for the see.
- 19:55It's just it's like a week pass. Okay.
- 19:58But it's yeah, as long as ya, I mean, because the way I look at
- 20:02this I'll just explain its but it might be a bit different now
- 20:06but When I was at school. Once you've got 26 form, it was
- 20:13like your Jesus. He is just use for your sixth
- 20:14form in the only things that are kind of use from that point
- 20:17onwards. I like if you have any careers
- 20:20where its Financial based or something and they want like
- 20:23maths but past past dtsc level, they don't really matter
- 20:28anymore. Like, obviously, I'm at degree
- 20:30level now and it's quite, frankly, bizarre.
- 20:33If I ever have to list Jesus, he's or a levels.
- 20:37Like I actually had to apply for a job recently, and they asked
- 20:40for that and I was like, What? It's like, I've got a degree in
- 20:44like I've worked for God knows how many years.
- 20:47But okay, so anyway, point being that with a lot of these.
- 20:51As long as you get like, the sea, you're pretty much in the
- 20:55clear. So yeah, yeah.
- 20:58Okay. The next one is a little bit
- 21:00sophisticated because they do it in terms of total.
- 21:04So it says, here for my combined science, Trilogy tear
- 21:08foundation. So I did, I did the foundation
- 21:10for my Sciences. I've got honestly, if my
- 21:13chemistry and biology was good as my physics, I feel like I'd
- 21:17be on higher, but I got 54, which I assume is in between the
- 21:255 and a 6 oz. It doesn't actually say it just
- 21:29it quite literally says, 54 54 54.
- 21:34There's no realistic. If it's 150 is as see I guess.
- 21:42So I guess that I guess that's sort of like a percentage.
- 21:45So, 54 percent, that's a case where it can screw you right?
- 21:50If it's because I had a similar thing where we had percentages
- 21:54but they didn't list it properly.
- 21:56So like it might be like, for one more joyous, this one module
- 21:59is this, but if they had give you like an overall shape,
- 22:01that's just subject. And it says, 54 then chances are
- 22:06it's a sea. But then, it also depends his
- 22:12the dumb thing. It depends on what the average
- 22:14is and what they decide the averages.
- 22:16So let's say everyone did really badly.
- 22:19You know, you sometimes hear about how the percentage is
- 22:21dragged down. So like a sea then could be say
- 22:2540 percent or higher which which we could even mean if it ever
- 22:30got low enough, then your grade could be like consider the b or
- 22:33something. Here is depends on how everyone
- 22:36else does and is pretty sure I'm pretty.
- 22:39I'm pretty sure it's like in between a five and a six because
- 22:43it has 54. I'm guessing that sort of like,
- 22:47edging towards a 5, But it's still in the middle ish.
- 22:51So what was this? This is which science is this
- 22:54which one is it? This is combined.
- 22:56So this is and chemistry biology and physics all bunched up in a
- 23:01one subject so that just counts as one.
- 23:04GCSE. Yes, that's a little bit unfair.
- 23:08Okay, just a bit because I have a feeling that like physics
- 23:11would be like a seven or six and then chemistry.
- 23:14Would be like a five or four and then sort of power.
- 23:19You would pay for just as well. Just going on the thing about
- 23:22how things really change. I mean there's a lot of talks in
- 23:26the UK about how gcses need to change.
- 23:30Like the system is flawed and stuff and here, 11 years ago,
- 23:34when I did my gcses, we had the foundation thing that you're
- 23:38talking about, I think I did mine separately, they said that
- 23:44the foundation was considered lesser than Doing the individual
- 23:49subjects on the basis of the it was combined.
- 23:53I think there was also talk of like a how it would be for
- 23:56people that were likely to do not as well but the thing is
- 24:00like a lot of the time, it will come down to your choices as
- 24:03well. So the choices you initially
- 24:05made for your gcses would then determine which Sciences you had
- 24:09to take and in what way and it was so confusing.
- 24:12When I was picking my my gcses like there was like at least
- 24:16three or four roots. So like it be because we were
- 24:18allowed Which school. So, you know be like all you got
- 24:21to do like this language with Foundation sciences and then
- 24:26some other thing or you got to do this language with two
- 24:31Sciences or something like that. It was really.
- 24:36Yeah. Not clear.
- 24:36But okay. So maybe a b then in science.
- 24:41That's maybe a b. So what one thing that I have to
- 24:45say is they're not, they're not evaluating Btech subjects, I
- 24:50took Health Advocates and they're not mocking, it would
- 24:53you mean they're not marking it, they're not mocking it.
- 24:56I don't have a great here for my health and social care because
- 24:59it's a btec subject. Okay?
- 25:01So I before we came on to record this podcast, we're recording
- 25:05this on the 20th by the way. So this would be out tomorrow on
- 25:08the 21st. But anyways the latest news I've
- 25:13seen is that be text? Just haven't been marked yet
- 25:16which was ridiculous because how much time do Do they need, and
- 25:19especially given everything. That's guys, I've stayed back
- 25:24every lunch for four weeks, topping off, everything I could
- 25:29just for them to tell us the bugger off.
- 25:32BB texture very flawed system. Anyway, I mean I did btech
- 25:36business Jesus, sea level, and a level, and the courses that I
- 25:43did, don't exist anymore. So I don't even know what they
- 25:46would be equivalent to at this point or like if they even have
- 25:50the same worth any what? I mean, I guess it doesn't
- 25:51really matter because of the degree now but point being that
- 25:55like whenever they make these changes, there's always talk
- 26:01about are they should scrap be take or it's a flawed system
- 26:04again. But like for me, people like
- 26:07myself, I don't know if you felt the same way, but for me, it was
- 26:10good. That there was like at least one
- 26:12course work only. Based course, it just kind of
- 26:15put less pressure in it and gave you.
- 26:17One thing that you could at least have like pretty much full
- 26:20control over because when I was doing my beat X like you could
- 26:24just keep pushing and keep pushing it.
- 26:26Until you got the grade that you wanted, like, you could just
- 26:29keep re handing Revised versions of the work and as long as you
- 26:33put the time in and the teacher is accommodating, then you could
- 26:37pretty much get the grade you one through fish.
- 26:40Get this sheer hard work. So Bravo, yeah, because I mean,
- 26:48I think exams anywhere a flawed thing, I mean, I know it's very
- 26:53easy to say that and not come up with a solution, but I think
- 26:55that There is a solution, but I think it's a combination of
- 27:01different things. Like, I think regular
- 27:03assessments by your teacher seems to be more of a like,
- 27:07sensible option because as well it measures your ability over
- 27:13time. And yeah, you still have to
- 27:17still an exam, you still have to, you know, do it.
- 27:20But like it's imagine how much better it would be if you did
- 27:23like 20 minute exams. Versus, you know, with like
- 27:30lesser amount of stuff to work on versus, do you know me?
- 27:33They have no, so you can't have your, you can have your
- 27:36workbook, and you and the teachers won't help you.
- 27:39It's just sort of an answer sheet in absolute silence and
- 27:44then working through that, for about 20 minutes or half an
- 27:46hour, just to see how quickly and how efficiently you can
- 27:50work. Well, that's pretty much what
- 27:54the system is now though, isn't it?
- 27:55It's, you know, you don't have any.
- 27:57Yes, there is. There is like we I mean we did
- 28:00do like like occasional classroom tests.
- 28:07Hmm. But sometimes we would do a mock
- 28:09exam in the actual hall room and I remember I finished and then I
- 28:14was just sitting For half an hour.
- 28:17Yeah, something to do. Well this is this is the trouble
- 28:20as well as and it with exams and tests because every kid performs
- 28:24definitely. Every kid is different.
- 28:25Some need the whole time. Some need more.
- 28:28Some? Yeah.
- 28:29As you say only need like 15 minutes so then and what's
- 28:32stupid is they don't let you leave, you know, so you sit
- 28:35there if they tell you that, if you finish your test in half an
- 28:39hour, you've beer City, not used your time correctly and you need
- 28:42to go over it again because it might not be done right now.
- 28:44Yeah, we just means especially with the way I work.
- 28:47And I've done before I even needed to be, I couldn't agree
- 28:50more. Yeah, I can think of so many
- 28:51times I was sitting there just because I'm very impressed just
- 28:57because I work quickly and just because I work faster than other
- 29:00people doesn't mean I'm doing it wrong.
- 29:03Yeah. Like you have to check back like
- 29:06three times. I know what I've written when I
- 29:09finish my next question. I look at it.
- 29:12All right, I'm happy with that. Then I move on.
- 29:14I don't need to go back three or four times.
- 29:17I mean I think it's worth going through a few times but I get
- 29:22your point, you know what I mean?
- 29:24I'm not lady sitting there like making sure you've written every
- 29:27single word correctly. You just just have a quick
- 29:31couple scans over, you know. Maybe I should change that a
- 29:34little bit. Alright.
- 29:34Fair enough. Move on right?
- 29:36Yeah good and then that you should walk to the front and
- 29:41your paper. Thank you.
- 29:42Off you go. No name.
- 29:44I don't get why they don't let you leave.
- 29:46Like what you gonna do? Like, look at somebody's thing
- 29:48on the way past and then, right? No, because that's obvious that
- 29:51they were just, they were always stupid with exams when I was at
- 29:55school. I mean, you know, they would,
- 29:57they would tell you, you were only allowed to go to the
- 30:00bathroom, a certain amount of times.
- 30:02It's that, well, would you want me to do?
- 30:03Piss, myself like dinner slowly? Yeah.
- 30:06Okay, listen, listen, Miss, okay.
- 30:09I know, I'm not like all the bathroom, but you have two
- 30:11options. You can let me go and I'll leave
- 30:13you alone. Alone.
- 30:14I can piss on your seats. You tell me which one you want?
- 30:19I heard it won't be me. I heard a story just in general
- 30:22in school. This is always dumb.
- 30:24And you know, there's that classic thing of like, you know
- 30:27you come back from lunch and they tell you you call you
- 30:31should have gone you know, your break time.
- 30:33And it's a why didn't need to go then the need it, right?
- 30:36And then there's this whole argument thing and like, you
- 30:39know, it comes down to like a lot of kids just go, but If I
- 30:44get in trouble but at least they can go to the bathroom.
- 30:47I think I've done that once. I think it was, I think it was
- 30:50in geography as well. I did it once and it was shame.
- 30:55I shouted at by was like well I'm not going to sit here and
- 30:57pee myself, you know. Apparently you're reluctant to
- 31:01do that think, like, by law they can't keep you there if you need
- 31:05two boxes. Of course not.
- 31:07If you guys are going on here in, right?
- 31:09Yeah, but like, what's our EMS? I'll just hold it in.
- 31:13For all good, an hour-and-a-half goody.
- 31:16Who I remember? Hearing a story, I don't know if
- 31:19it's true. But apparently, there was
- 31:20someone a school who when they told him that he couldn't go to
- 31:24the bathroom, he got up walked to the corner of the room and
- 31:27peed in record. Trash can.
- 31:29Yeah, there's always one kid and it's like, what?
- 31:33Well, I find I'll just I'll just imagine if you need it.
- 31:38Imagine if you needed a number to that when I was gonna say
- 31:41that would be The worst thing about that right is that you
- 31:46maintain eye contact with that person, you'd see them squat in
- 31:49and doing that and they just be looking.
- 31:51Yeah. They're like they just looking
- 31:52at the cheese like this is what you made me do.
- 31:55This is what you remember. Do, look at it.
- 32:00Oh my God. Okay, let's move on.
- 32:03Let's bring it back to you. GCSE results.
- 32:04So so far so good. I mean, you know, you haven't,
- 32:08you haven't failed anything apart from geography which
- 32:10probably isn't going to fuck up your life.
- 32:12So you know, Okay, mathematics tear hitch, Which is higher 55,
- 32:20where they go, so be be be seized a b, and then we go.
- 32:27That's Abby, I think and were certain only again maps.
- 32:31And and Matt's was a 5, which I'm actually pretty pleased
- 32:35about. I think my math teacher is a bit
- 32:37annoyed because he thought in the back of the mind that I
- 32:39couldn't do it, but I knew I could do this.
- 32:42Trust me. That whole thing of like,
- 32:44teachers not being happy that you do what like their secret.
- 32:47Even if they fucking hate you, they're secretly be happy.
- 32:49Because at the end of the day that you they taught you.
- 32:53So if you do, well, it's better. It's better for that actually.
- 32:56Yes, they are. Yeah.
- 32:57I mean I told him so yeah exactly yeah one that another
- 33:01one in the bag I decided I can't ever believe that that teachers
- 33:04get angry students and I like God, you know, I can't believe
- 33:09this, you know that he did were like I remember getting a high
- 33:12grade in re and then arguing with my re teacher about it.
- 33:17And I literally went up to her and I said, see see because she
- 33:21said I was going to fail and I got like a bee or something.
- 33:24And let me see, that's exactly what happened to me.
- 33:27Me before I moved up into the higher class.
- 33:30So I was in the fourth, the fourth level.
- 33:34Yeah, it's like it was like, so it goes from one, which is
- 33:37obviously top class and then all the way down to the five, which
- 33:42is normally when you find the, the school Gremlins as I called,
- 33:46sorry, what? This get the school Gremlins,
- 33:49the little, the little Reggie's, the chavs who don't know, what?
- 33:52Two plus two is last emotion and they'll go Intelligence.
- 33:59Yeah, I love that. There's a northern twang to it
- 34:01as well. It's fun that funny.
- 34:03Yeah. You do know D.
- 34:05When Woody intelligence like wait, what's wrong with you?
- 34:10Come on? I remember, I remember because
- 34:14when I was at school, we had like sets up to like set eight
- 34:18and I think that's it. That was it for.
- 34:21Don't for those who watch like KSI videos, there was like a
- 34:25meme crazy. It's the it's about a year ago.
- 34:29It was like set eight memes and oh my God.
- 34:32I was cruising so hard at all of these memes, because it's so
- 34:34true. There's something about when
- 34:37you're in the bottom set of something like, everyone's not
- 34:40quite quite there. Yeah.
- 34:43Like I don't mean it, elasti way.
- 34:45Not not, like there's like, they got a problem.
- 34:47They just kind of Just not quite in in the realm of Earth.
- 34:55It's sort of whenever the person who talks at 5, which I think
- 35:01was the lowest maths. When I'm pretty sure, was such a
- 35:05pretty sure. I'm pretty sure I was sat in my
- 35:07class and then, my teacher asked me to go and get like a batch of
- 35:12pencils from mrs. Fox has class.
- 35:14And I said, oh yeah. Yeah, that's, that's that
- 35:17fibers. And it's only one?
- 35:18Yep. And I went.
- 35:19Okay, so I stood up As soon as I walked in a piece of paper, hit
- 35:24the Wardrobe, like the not a wardrobe, like, a cupboard next
- 35:26day. I was like, yeah, this isn't
- 35:28going to go. Well, we had this thing when I
- 35:29was at school, it was actually kind of weirdly fun.
- 35:36I don't know how much, how often it happened.
- 35:38I think it was like once a year but basically you get picked to
- 35:41be like the school administrator for a day.
- 35:44So you basically just went into every class that the admins told
- 35:49you to go to. And like delivered stuff and I
- 35:53don't know why they did this. I guess it was like a sort of
- 35:56work experience type thing and they did it like once a year and
- 36:00it's kind of fun because you never know whose class you're
- 36:03going to end up in. Like, you might see a friend's,
- 36:05you might see a girl that you fancy whatever.
- 36:07Janome was kind of fun. It was more than the younger
- 36:11years, from what? I remember because that's what
- 36:13I'm looking forward to about work.
- 36:15This is another topic. So I'm not going to completely
- 36:17rush on it immediately, but I will say that The job that I'm
- 36:22looking at right now gives me a lot of experience with talking
- 36:26to people which I don't have a lot of.
- 36:27I don't have a lot of social skills but we'll move on to
- 36:30there eventually. We'll get one death, definitely
- 36:33ask you about it, but we've this want to finish this story with
- 36:36this with this thing of coming into people's classes
- 36:41occasionally? Yeah.
- 36:42I don't want comfortable. Your.
- 36:44Yeah. But like occasionally, you get
- 36:45it because that, yeah, you're right.
- 36:46Everyone was stare at you, and it's awful.
- 36:48But you just kind of what I, what I used to do, is I Used to
- 36:51look at the floor. So I'd come in and I'd be like,
- 36:54it's even worse or you go. Here's the thing.
- 36:57No, not even that. I wouldn't even come into the
- 36:59room, I'd stare. I know, I do until I knew where
- 37:04the thing was, so I'd come in and I'd be holding the driver
- 37:06like mr. Marsh ones pencils during the
- 37:12cupboard of the buck and I'd go and then bugger off to the
- 37:15company, the world's I can was going to say on that there is
- 37:20Going into those set eight classes when you're doing that
- 37:23job is probably get about it. It's just really funny because
- 37:27you noticed like how like weird everyone is acting and how like
- 37:31it's pretty much just chaos and you like surely every class
- 37:34can't be like this but then you feel above them because you
- 37:38realize that you're like, bought four or five sets up of them as
- 37:41you're just sort of like yeah, I know my way I never really had
- 37:45that that, that superiority thing.
- 37:47I if anything I just felt like, well, I wasn't fair.
- 37:50Military or tea. Like I wouldn't, I wouldn't be
- 37:53hot like that superiority, but I know.
- 37:56Okay. The staring at me.
- 37:57They don't like me because they know that I'm smaller than them.
- 38:00So if I say anything to just, going to think I'm insulting our
- 38:03intelligence, maybe I don't know your role with chops as just.
- 38:07Don't make eye contact and you'll be.
- 38:09All right, if you don't move it once a year, pretty much.
- 38:14Yeah, if you don't move, don't look at it.
- 38:18I can't believe chaps to exist in This day and age man, I
- 38:21thought that shit died out years ago but no, they're still there
- 38:25still there worse than ever walking around the streets with
- 38:28their MC blastin. It would have been to be music.
- 38:32Let's get back to. Jesus has come on.
- 38:35Okay. Drama or Theatrical Studies.
- 38:37Isn't think it was called car for a performing arts school?
- 38:41So I either had to take music drama or dance.
- 38:45Forget about dance. I can't move without falling
- 38:47over. I wasn't I wasn't that
- 38:51interested in it yet, so I took drama and I got a 60.
- 38:56Excellent. Just, which is a very good
- 38:58purse. A sir.
- 38:59Hi. Hi.
- 39:00A is a little a, that's a, that's a low.
- 39:03A, I think. Or is today, are high be, well,
- 39:06even still, it's awesome if ever awesome.
- 39:13My I had a funny relationship with my fiancé relationship, you
- 39:18know, I had a funny sort of Friendship with my Drama teacher
- 39:23in the sense that she hated me, but she always wanted the best
- 39:25for me, like, I would annoy her very, very often, but she knows
- 39:29that. As long as I continue acting
- 39:31good, she's alright with me. One friend, who's always a
- 39:36douche, but it's kind of funny, I think, I think.
- 39:39Yeah. I mean teachers, I don't truly
- 39:41believe they hate anyone. Like if they genuinely do hate
- 39:45any kids, then they just shouldn't be teaching.
- 39:47Like, that's just. Yeah, I love kids to be able to
- 39:51Jesus. Yeah, you must, you must not
- 39:54hate kids in order to be a teacher.
- 39:56I think it's more about just having patience.
- 39:58I don't think you necessarily have to like, or hate kids to be
- 40:01a teacher. But I think you just have to be
- 40:02like Like got to be very, very patient.
- 40:05Yeah. You have to have the patience of
- 40:07a saint. I would, I would lose my marbles
- 40:09in my first day at it I class. I'm mr.
- 40:12Pringle. And then they'd be like hopping.
- 40:14Let's say, what'd you just say? Hey, oh yeah, out, I had a few
- 40:19teachers where we made them cry and in one case, I think there
- 40:24was one teacher that we it was so bad that we actually she
- 40:28actually quit teaching after the teaching but In fairness like we
- 40:34did apologize and stuff that I mean, there was this teacher the
- 40:37got really annoyed in my, in my school.
- 40:40I remember there was this teacher, I think it was in
- 40:41maths, but it was like a cover. You got so annoyed that he swung
- 40:46the door open, charged out and slammed it behind him and he
- 40:51broke the lower glass. So, the door was, like, the
- 40:54handle was here. There was an upper glass.
- 40:56There was like a lower glass there, and the lower glass to
- 41:00shouted. You just can't act like that.
- 41:02When you're an adult though, you know, he's Italy left and
- 41:05slammed the door and he broke it.
- 41:07He was the been 50 60 or something like that.
- 41:09Oh wow, okay so he's not like a young guy in his 20s that can't
- 41:13hack it he's like always thought old man.
- 41:18Jesus Christ was I'm not sure if he still teaching but should
- 41:22hope not. I just But like, that's that's
- 41:25the thing about substitute teachers as well.
- 41:27Like they have even less control because everyone knows that when
- 41:31there's a sub, you can just pretty much do whatever the hell
- 41:34you want. Like you don't have time less
- 41:35than less than the sort of am the boss.
- 41:38You do what I say you, do your work but then there's the but
- 41:42nobody likes that kind of person.
- 41:44Nobody likes, respect my authoritah, nobody likes it.
- 41:48You have to make us want to respect you.
- 41:50You can't just be like, I'm the boss.
- 41:52You respect me. You do what I give you your
- 41:54teacher said to do this to get on with it.
- 41:56Don't bother me. I yeah, I agree with you.
- 41:59I think that like Yeah, you can't demand respect.
- 42:03I think your demeanor has to be authoritarian in school, like
- 42:07you thought you can't be sort of.
- 42:09I want your respect. You will give me it.
- 42:12You should have to be like I'm good.
- 42:14I'm gonna do what I've been told to do.
- 42:17I'd like your respect as I respect you as well.
- 42:19I'd like the same in return. I think you have to work out
- 42:22like how best to appeal to the people in your class because
- 42:26like at the end of the day, some subjects that easier like things
- 42:30like drama. The or music.
- 42:32I mean, that's everyone loves that stuff, so it's easy.
- 42:34But if it's, yeah, Matt's, it's maybe not.
- 42:37Everyone's cup of tea, It's Tricky.
- 42:39So you gotta try and like try to make it interesting or at least.
- 42:45Try to make people feel good about it because a lot of the
- 42:46time people are struggling and that's the disinterest.
- 42:49Like for me. I hate it now.
- 42:53Yeah but it's like you've really got to push them like II, never
- 42:57unfortunately, got my mass and it was because I always had
- 43:00terrible. Teachers who would never push me
- 43:03and give me the support that I needed and it was a real shame
- 43:07because there was a small part of me that wanted to do well.
- 43:10And, you know, sometimes I would have a day where I was doing
- 43:13well and I really understood it and then I would just hit like a
- 43:15wall and I had so many teachers that were like, would chastise
- 43:21me. If I asked a question, would
- 43:23mock me like actually mock me in front of the class, which is
- 43:26like, I mean, that's one of the worst things ever isn't it to be
- 43:30mocked in front. Of people life because I atika
- 43:34by an adult when you don't understand something, it's like
- 43:37we're not all the same. Not all of us are like.
- 43:40They shouldn't be allowed to do that either.
- 43:41Like, yeah, that's such a you can't you can't mock a kid for
- 43:48their lack of intelligence. They're in school to increase
- 43:52said intelligence. So you can't put them off it
- 43:55because I just I, you know, I'm not going to school such and
- 43:58such a take the piss out of me again.
- 44:00It all comes down. Down to like whether or not
- 44:01people should be in teaching, some people just shouldn't be
- 44:04teachers and I think for the most part there's a very relaxed
- 44:08attitude in terms of who they allow to become teachers and I
- 44:11know I'm attacking teachers. I know there's plenty of good
- 44:14teachers out there. This isn't a tirade about
- 44:16teachers. I'm just saying there is a lot
- 44:19of A lot like okay, if I was a teacher I would give it my all.
- 44:24You know what I mean? And I know how in like
- 44:27time-consuming it is and how much it takes to view.
- 44:29I'm not trying to like understate that but you have to
- 44:32give it your all when you're, you know, because you're not
- 44:36only are you helping kids understand things but you're
- 44:40working with them in terms of their self-esteem issues.
- 44:43You know, you're being a sort of Quasi psychologist and you know,
- 44:47you're their friend too. An extent and but it has to be
- 44:53teacher before friend. Yeah, I've got no, I just mean
- 44:56like someone that they can kind of relate to on some level.
- 45:00Yeah like you know never ever talked about my home life with
- 45:05any of my teachers. I spread my it's it's not really
- 45:08what I mean. I mean obviously you should be
- 45:10approachable but I mean more like A teacher, the relationship
- 45:16should be positive. The relationship should be that
- 45:19you enjoy coming to the class. You enjoy your time.
- 45:23Spent with that person. Maybe you don't always, you're
- 45:26not always, like, really like, oh, this is so exciting, you
- 45:29know, I mean, but like you at least, like, like being there,
- 45:32you don't dread it. Joe, we had, we had lessons.
- 45:36I remember to certain teachers, like I had a jog, Rafi teacher
- 45:39one time we were very young. I think we were like 12 years.
- 45:44Out, right? And she was one of the strictest
- 45:47teachers I've ever had in my life still to this day.
- 45:51I we all just was stunned by how strict she was because we did
- 45:56that. We obviously all of us have had
- 45:57strict teachers, but this was like unbelievably strict and she
- 46:01was really young. She was like this Australian
- 46:03woman who couldn't have been older than about 24, 25 or
- 46:08something. And she just sorry to say but it
- 46:12was like she One had just pissed her off.
- 46:16And then from that point onwards, she was just angry at
- 46:19everyone and everything. And like I remember one time we
- 46:24did some sort of a I don't know why we were doing this in
- 46:27geography. But wherever we were doing this.
- 46:29No sorry. I think she taught us in history
- 46:31as well. For a little bits, this might
- 46:33have been history thing, we were doing the lucky historical in
- 46:36that reenactment or something, we will be in film doing it and
- 46:38we were all nervous as fuck because it's her.
- 46:41So we're all like, like this like, you know, Doing roleplay,
- 46:45but like kind of shit scared that she's gonna scream us
- 46:49right? Which is ridiculous.
- 46:50You shouldn't be scared of your teacher, right?
- 46:54And I did like a Scottish accent for the part.
- 46:57I think it was, you know, something like that.
- 47:00And I remember when it came to the day afterwards or the week
- 47:04afterwards, when we were getting like our feedback, we're all
- 47:07sitting there like just scared that she's going to chastise us
- 47:10and say like, oh, you know, you failed and this is why you felt
- 47:12and she was kind of doing that. So it's like she absolutely
- 47:17destroyed the person before me when she was given that the
- 47:20feedback she was like, this is terrible.
- 47:21This is all for you should be ashamed of yourself.
- 47:24You're a disgrace Barbara. And like, we're all just sitting
- 47:27there like, Jesus Manuel, she gonna say to me like fuck and
- 47:30then she gets to me. And then she saying nice things,
- 47:35she's like, oh well done, you did really good on this and this
- 47:38but the way she was saying it was as though I was being told
- 47:41off and she was kind of doing that thing that teachers do
- 47:43without June is a good example. You, you need to be like
- 47:47Christian better. That I die.
- 47:48Right then. I just felt like, like, if it
- 47:51couldn't get any worse. Now, she's singling me out.
- 47:54Now, people could say like our, he's a teacher's pair and shit,
- 47:58but like I think that's that's that's where that comes from.
- 48:01Is when teachers, praise one person.
- 48:04And then say, everybody else has shipped, but this is the thing,
- 48:07not that one person's full. That's the thing that never
- 48:10happened. Because even though she gave,
- 48:12you know, Of comments to like me and a few others.
- 48:16We were all in this together, like, sitting there like Jesus
- 48:19Christ, man. Like, when can we get away from
- 48:22this person? Like every time I shit, you not
- 48:25our entire form, there was like 20 of us or something.
- 48:28We just we all just dreaded it, we just and when we found out,
- 48:31we got new teacher. I think we all just kind of
- 48:33fucking rejoiced. We like finally.
- 48:37Yeah, teachers are dead funny. Kind, they're either amazing or
- 48:43terrible or like lazy. There's like so many different
- 48:48types, but I don't know. I mean, I think you always
- 48:50remember the ones that really inspired you and helped you.
- 48:53Like, I've, you know, got quite a few that, you know, I still to
- 48:58this day. I pinpoint as like this person
- 49:00inspired me in this person. Motivate me and this person
- 49:02pushed me. Yeah, so yeah.
- 49:05Anyway, The final, the final, the final one languages I did
- 49:10French and if I was to fail languages, I could not be called
- 49:15Dutch Dells. It would be a disgrace but I got
- 49:19a sex as well. So it's all good.
- 49:21I can retain my the the country name inside of my username.
- 49:27So I'm come good. So this is, this is this, is it
- 49:30like, that's that seems like not a lot of Jesus.
- 49:33He's, it was You know, waiting on results or anything.
- 49:37I think I'm waiting on I.T. Oh no.
- 49:40I.T I.T, Health, and Social all of the other ones that I did I
- 49:45think Ivy Tech, right? But how many of those are you
- 49:49waiting on them? Three or four that were asking
- 49:53some of those subjects. Right now, ready it Health and
- 49:57Social, you don't get graded for PE unless unless you take it as
- 50:01an option, who the fuck would take, I guess.
- 50:05Actually yeah, we had a waiting on known as P.
- 50:09It's known as Sports leadership, you go to like different schools
- 50:17and sort of act as a p assistant.
- 50:21It sounds kind of weirdly, interesting.
- 50:25It was I thought about it but then I was like, yeah, but
- 50:28physical education. Yeah, I hope for us when we're
- 50:32when we were doing P at school, there was a thing where you
- 50:36could I was kind of annoyed about this actually because
- 50:40there was an option to either obviously take it as an option
- 50:43which I guess all the sporty people, you know, dealing with
- 50:47yeah. If they were like actively
- 50:48wanting to become like a, I don't know.
- 50:51Physiotherapist or some shit like that and they would take
- 50:54it. But anyway there was an option
- 50:57where you could they call it like a half course.
- 51:01So it still count as something and then there was just no
- 51:04course and me and a bunch of others missed out on doing a
- 51:09half course. For some reason it was some
- 51:10bullshit that were happening so that we basically just didn't do
- 51:14it so it was like an hour a week where we would all be together.
- 51:19So all the people doing the half course old, people didn't fall
- 51:21No course are together doing PE but it's essentially just a
- 51:26wasted. Our and it was fun.
- 51:29Like they made it fun and we and we had fun but it was a bit like
- 51:33why are we doing this? Like especially in the later
- 51:35years when we just had? I mean I know they say it's a
- 51:38commitment thing like you have to do it like by law and but I
- 51:44still think that there's this issue of just like, I don't
- 51:47know. it could be, it could be a lot better than how they
- 51:51structured it, I think, and They can make it more interesting.
- 51:57I think that I think it should be more more often and and they
- 52:02should revise like, how they actually structure it.
- 52:04So it's not like I don't, for instance, I don't think it
- 52:07should be like a full session of like an hour or something.
- 52:11I think that's or I don't know, like, you can everyone else to
- 52:18nobody wants to do that. Nobody wants to do in Our Salon.
- 52:22It's yeah. I think I is inaccurate.
- 52:24Europe as well, because unless you're doing sports like games
- 52:27and stuff, it's never really like that.
- 52:30It's, it's more kind of a case of you do.
- 52:33But let's say, you do you do you do Jim?
- 52:35But you don't go. Do waits for an hour like you
- 52:38take braids. You do like, I know 15 minutes
- 52:41or 20 minutes, or you do cardio for 20 minutes and then you
- 52:44stopped, you know, me and like there's there's that like A lot
- 52:49of us could go for that long like we, we could, we could do
- 52:52it, but it was just a bit like it would be tough as well.
- 52:55Like let's say you have p in the middle of the day.
- 52:58You're knackered. And then you've got, like, I
- 53:01know Maths for the rest of the day and it's like no one looks
- 53:03forward to that. After being like nephew already,
- 53:07it's already tough, but let's say, you haven't like maths on a
- 53:09Friday evening end of a day and I'm still having flashbacks.
- 53:14Now PTSD. That's why I used to hate is
- 53:18when people He was in the morning.
- 53:20See, I don't mind a sin, that's all right.
- 53:23But then but then I also hate PE at the end of the day because
- 53:27you can't be asked. Yeah, I mean, I think having it
- 53:32in the middle of the day we did because we did slots.
- 53:35Luckily, I got like, no split. So what that means is I didn't
- 53:40get one before break or wonderful lunch and M1 after I
- 53:43had to, I had a chunk of two hours.
- 53:46Yeah. We had the same thing.
- 53:50What annoyed me was when they would do one slot and then
- 53:54another thing, because there were so many times when this
- 53:56happened to me where you'd have P for 50 minutes and then you
- 54:00got a run to like your next lesson and I was always fucking
- 54:03like we always were and sometimes the teachers were
- 54:05purposely make us late like for punishment or for some other
- 54:09reason and you'd have to explain to the next teacher and
- 54:13sometimes you just get in trouble.
- 54:14They just like wouldn't believe you and then like, why I always,
- 54:16that's why I always said, sir, can I come back either at lunch?
- 54:20Or at the end of the day, or can you give me a note?
- 54:23Because a lot of us would just fucking leave.
- 54:25If like, when we realized that we would get in trouble.
- 54:29In the next lesson, we were like, nah, fuck it.
- 54:32We'll just leave and then, but they would like, give us a
- 54:35detention it's that are fine. But, like, at least I'm going to
- 54:38be late for like this lesson and getting even more trouble or
- 54:41something. But yeah, I we had the same
- 54:43thing like in the later years it was double PE periods, which is
- 54:47much more sensible. But Yeah, I do doing it in the
- 54:52morning. I think is okay if it's like
- 54:55summer but if it's winter that's really tough because the weather
- 54:58and like for some reason I don't know if your school did this but
- 55:00my school, for some reason they had this fascination with
- 55:04forcing us to do pee outside in winter, so like cross-country in
- 55:09it outside. Yeah, we did.
- 55:10We did we did a mile run in winter but weirdly enough I
- 55:15liked it because you'd be all hot and sweaty.
- 55:19And then you could just slide on the ground Laughs a little bit
- 55:20and then you can just pretend you fell over and you can just
- 55:23cool off a little bit. I liked p in the early years
- 55:28like sorry the across country in the early years I was like you I
- 55:31liked running and you know I was very much the opposite I enjoyed
- 55:35it near the end because every at the start of every term in your
- 55:407 8 and 9 at the start of every term you do a mile and compare
- 55:45your times and in in the layers didn't do that but just did it.
- 55:50Of once every couple of terms, I think, when we started getting
- 55:53lazy and we started like partying, you know, weekends and
- 55:58smoking and doing all the things we shouldn't be doing, like, a
- 56:01lot of us got pretty lazy and we started to play the system kind
- 56:04of thing. And like, so we would do this
- 56:06thing where some of us would get away with not, I don't know,
- 56:11we'd feigning injury, so we wouldn't have to do cross
- 56:14country. So we would be standing there,
- 56:16like, I don't know, as like flag marker and that everyone else
- 56:19has to run. You're like, screw you and
- 56:25everyone knows that you're faking it, but then you just as
- 56:28soon as the teacher, looks you just limp little bit like like
- 56:33you just, and they started asking for that, doctors notes
- 56:38and stuff. And I just, oh my god.
- 56:40That hurt me because I remember one time I actually really did
- 56:46and I forgot to ask my mom for a.
- 56:47No. Yeah.
- 56:49And My mum used to like, well, not forged notes, but she used
- 56:53to used to write like, like, stun, no.
- 56:56Sent to say Dylan has hurt his leg.
- 56:59Please don't make him do PE sincerely Lily and I feel just
- 57:03like. Thanks Mom but Forge, one times
- 57:06my signature so many times. Like why I completely Smiley.
- 57:11I didn't like I smash my foot on on like a stair because I was
- 57:19going to go and run up. This data to see how many I
- 57:21could get up in one in one leak. And I got to the about the
- 57:26fourth stair, but this was the Stan, this is my foot.
- 57:29It sort of went like that on the corner of the stir and I got and
- 57:32I got tendonitis. I heard massive crack and I set
- 57:35my friend. What the hell was that?
- 57:38I started walking it? I started walking again because
- 57:40the you know the adrenaline I've got about 10 minutes into the
- 57:4315-minute walk home. So what so what are the doctors,
- 57:52sorry, I had the had the next day off and then on Thursday in
- 57:56the morning I went to the doctors.
- 57:59And they said, I had tendonitis. I completely smashed my tendons
- 58:04in my foot. So I couldn't walk properly for
- 58:08about four or five weeks. I got to say, like, in ever
- 58:11happened to me, I was lucky touch wood, but like they were,
- 58:14I remember seeing kids every now and again that would break limbs
- 58:18or staff, it's always worst. If it happened in that PE, like
- 58:21I had a friend called Alfie and we were really good friends and
- 58:25he broke his finger I believe and Um but the finger I remember
- 58:31actually happening in p and he to be fair to him.
- 58:36I mean, breaking your finger from what I understand.
- 58:37I understand it's like, painful but it's not like unbelievable
- 58:40you paying for something, but he was he was a real champ about it
- 58:46and it was like fuck man. And you know, people handle
- 58:50things differently, but I think a lot of the time when you have
- 58:52an injury and you have to log yourself to school, it just
- 58:54makes everything difficult. And like for him he couldn't
- 58:57write properly because I think it was his writing Hey, let
- 59:00yeah, I limped to, I had to leave 10 minutes earlier than I
- 59:03normally would just to get there because I was, I was like
- 59:06dragging my foot along. Yeah.
- 59:09Did you know much has then? No, they didn't give me
- 59:12crutches. They just said to keep it
- 59:14rested, but you can go as school and soon as she said that I was
- 59:17like, no, my mom's going to take that seriously.
- 59:20What have you done? They should have given you
- 59:23crutches? That's ridiculous.
- 59:26Yeah, like, police everything I couldn't.
- 59:28I couldn't bend my foot and when I bent while I get her as well
- 59:32because it shot up the foot and into the sort of bottom of my
- 59:36leg. So I couldn't bend my foot.
- 59:38I couldn't turn my foot. I sort of had to keep it
- 59:40straight as possible, but I remember, once I stub my toe,
- 59:45After getting the tendinitis and it felt broken.
- 59:49Hmm, like, all I did was stub, my toe like this against like
- 59:53the corner of a chair but it really hurt.
- 59:57I think I did that one time. Actually, before I was, I was
- 1:00:01getting ready for school one morning and I'm pretty sure I
- 1:00:05stubbed it or I just really badly hurt my foot.
- 1:00:09I just couldn't walk. And I remember saying to my mom
- 1:00:11like listen, I can't walk properly like I'm not faking it
- 1:00:14or trying to go to school like Like genuinely this hurts a lot.
- 1:00:17And she, she let me stay at home but she wasn't happy about it.
- 1:00:20But like, I genuinely love the whole day.
- 1:00:22I was like, oh, this is so boring.
- 1:00:25I was so dumb as well. It was like just I think I was
- 1:00:29going to the living room just to grab something.
- 1:00:31I was literally maybe 15 minutes before I'm about to leave and I
- 1:00:35stubbed it like, sort of underneath the door kind of
- 1:00:37thing as 20. I jump my finger in a door once
- 1:00:43and it was the single most Or put experience I've ever because
- 1:00:48I was going to close the door but I was resting on the thing.
- 1:00:51So I just felt like it just sort of look like I banged my hand in
- 1:00:54the door on purpose, but I was leaning on it and I was sort of
- 1:00:58leaning on the door post. I'm going to close the door and
- 1:01:00I realized my finger was there too late and I was just been, I
- 1:01:03did that to myself. I am going to lie down, I'd like
- 1:01:08a family member picking me up or something, and I accidentally
- 1:01:11slammed my thumb in the car door.
- 1:01:15Or something like that. And it was a really weird pain
- 1:01:19because it was like, At first, I think it was shocked.
- 1:01:22I was like, oh damn. And then the pain.
- 1:01:26Just hit me, it was like, boom. Whoa.
- 1:01:29Oh, it was it was delayed. It was like, it was like, I
- 1:01:33think you should. I think you should make a song.
- 1:01:37Whoa. And she said boom.
- 1:01:45It's not going to get sold off as screaming.
- 1:01:47I should probably show a clip that and then make a song out of
- 1:01:51it in the door. So basically it seems like
- 1:01:58you're you've done pretty damn well if you do see a see, so
- 1:02:01well done. Congratulations.
- 1:02:03I'm pretty. I'm pretty proud of myself.
- 1:02:04Yeah. But that's enough about school.
- 1:02:06Otherwise, I think I might jump out the window so we can, we can
- 1:02:13compare. So, I'm rule grades and I got a
- 1:02:18believe it was Equivalent to a stars in, GCSE to do it choices.
- 1:02:25But yeah, to a stars in btech business and then let me see
- 1:02:33like a merit or something in it. Yeah, that's all class.
- 1:02:37There's Merit past Merrick distinction.
- 1:02:39Yeah. And then the text of the still
- 1:02:42do that. I'm going to list it by good
- 1:02:44grades. So yeah.
- 1:02:47Ari Abby. Physically you.
- 1:02:53So you were you made to do religious education as you pick
- 1:02:56up made, we had to do it. I didn't mind.
- 1:03:01It may still have stopped doing that now.
- 1:03:03Yeah, you have to choose it in order to do it because you can't
- 1:03:07force somebody to learn about religion of the don't want to.
- 1:03:10That's sort of one of those things where you don't have to.
- 1:03:12It's a tricky one you know because like I I think it's
- 1:03:15worth at least knowing you know what I mean?
- 1:03:18Like you don't have to like I think the danger Is when you get
- 1:03:23people who teach you who are religious that's danger.
- 1:03:26That's the problem because I had a teacher who was like, very
- 1:03:29heavy Pentecostal Christian like, you know, really took it,
- 1:03:34you know? And she was a good teacher, but
- 1:03:36don't get me wrong. We had like pretty happy debates
- 1:03:39and we argued a lot, but I think there was like, a weird
- 1:03:43underlying respect between us because there was like debate
- 1:03:45and I think that she, she liked being able to talk, but she the
- 1:03:49problem. Always, I've got into a debate
- 1:03:50about About it was we watched a thing on terrorism.
- 1:03:56I think she showed a clip of 9/11 and I was, I'm the only I
- 1:04:03think I was the only person in there who had like the balls to
- 1:04:05say anything controversial. Yeah.
- 1:04:07But she said, she said something about how the terrorists,
- 1:04:11followed the Muslim religion, and I said, well miss, they're
- 1:04:14not Muslims, they like to think they are and they have it in
- 1:04:18their head. Fix it at that they are, but
- 1:04:19they're not. Mmm.
- 1:04:23Because it's pretty sure any God any God is against killing.
- 1:04:27It's very confusing with with Islam because I mean I hear a
- 1:04:30lot of different teachings that say not like the prevailing
- 1:04:34narrative that I hear from from Islam that I've read over the
- 1:04:37years is that they're pacifists. Therefore, it's impossible for
- 1:04:42them to be terrorists because of that very fact, like it's
- 1:04:45written in the Quran like, you know, not doing violence on
- 1:04:49towards others kind of thing. But then there's like different
- 1:04:53interpretations just like there is with every religion, you
- 1:04:56know, you have like variations of Christianity, you know, I
- 1:05:00mean the terror, I mean for all we know the terrorists might
- 1:05:03have their own version of Muslim.
- 1:05:05Yeah, it's but like, I think you hit on a very good point, like
- 1:05:07it's not there, not your the not your, you know, sort of what
- 1:05:13their Twisted don't, they, they twist it like just like religion
- 1:05:17has always been Twisted to suit others now.
- 1:05:22Jesus Christ. Other said that, if I blow up 20
- 1:05:27people then I'll have 77070 slaves and a big feast and a
- 1:05:32seat in heaven, but that's blatantly not, I don't know.
- 1:05:39But again, it get we don't have to go deep into it.
- 1:05:41I think is a very basic point, isn't it?
- 1:05:44That like, you know, at its core all the monotheistic religion
- 1:05:48not as religious as they think they are.
- 1:05:51That's not real. I mean, I meant more that the
- 1:05:53actual religion itself doesn't preach that it's always people
- 1:05:58kind of twisting it to suit narratives, which historically
- 1:06:02has happened time, and time and time again.
- 1:06:03Like, you just have to look at like Christian is a really good
- 1:06:06example, because you have like, official versions of the Bible
- 1:06:09that were chained. Like you have the King James
- 1:06:12Bible, which was literally organized by the king of that
- 1:06:16time to suit his particular thoughts, and feelings, and
- 1:06:19narratives. So, you know, It's just
- 1:06:22something that is very prevalent, in religion.
- 1:06:25I've said it before that, you know, I don't think that
- 1:06:28religion isolated is a bad thing.
- 1:06:30I just think that people take it, twists messages, twist
- 1:06:34things, you know, a lot of the problem with religion, certainly
- 1:06:41with older texts is misinterpreting or interpreting
- 1:06:44things in different ways because as humans, we can interpret
- 1:06:46messages, completely differently to suit our own thoughts and
- 1:06:51feelings and that That's kind of the tricky part because I feel
- 1:06:54like a lot of those terrorists. I mean, I think there is a
- 1:06:58limit, there is always like a line where people just take
- 1:07:00things way too far and it's not anything to do with the beliefs
- 1:07:05and their core anymore. It's just if they won.
- 1:07:10One thing that really annoys me is, do you remember when
- 1:07:14Manchester Arena was bombed at the Ariana Grande concert?
- 1:07:19Yeah, the guy, the guy who one of the perpetrators of that was
- 1:07:23convicted today. Actually I believe that's good
- 1:07:26good for free. He is so there's actual sentence
- 1:07:29for once. Yeah.
- 1:07:31Well, the my biggest problem, it's Ariana Grande.
- 1:07:36There's going to be kids there 12:12 and that I'm not just
- 1:07:40saying girls, but 12 year old girls and boys, as well as
- 1:07:45adults and families. And you are demonstrating to
- 1:07:49them, why kids are scared You're literally blowing up where kids
- 1:07:57are you cop? I mean you can't you can't fly a
- 1:08:01plane into an office building but I mean blowing up somewhere
- 1:08:07where you know there's kids is significantly worse.
- 1:08:13I mean did they did they blow up the arena?
- 1:08:14Just because it's filled with people or did they not even take
- 1:08:17into consideration? The what what kind of people
- 1:08:20would be there? Because terrorism is just
- 1:08:23ignorance. The definition of terrorism is
- 1:08:27to scare. For no reason to scare innocent
- 1:08:32people for no reason. So I don't have much to say on
- 1:08:38this matter because to be honest I think it's one of those just
- 1:08:41infuriating. It's one of those things where
- 1:08:44like you just can't understand because you don't think that way
- 1:08:48General. I mean like I In the past I've
- 1:08:51tried to rationalize and think will like, how could a person
- 1:08:54think that this is acceptable or like, how could they believe
- 1:08:58this was right? And the only thing I can come to
- 1:09:02like, in terms of a conclusion, is just warped Minds.
- 1:09:05You know, what realities being indoctrinated, into Force
- 1:09:11beliefs being exploited, you know.
- 1:09:16But at the end of the day it's because of its I recently just
- 1:09:21finished up a posted three about this.
- 1:09:26If you are following me already after Stills little plug there,
- 1:09:32but I recently finished watching Luther, which is a, if you don't
- 1:09:37know, it's a British crime series star in Aegis Elba, who's
- 1:09:41actually a sizes name. You just Alba is a is actually a
- 1:09:45outstanding actor? Yeah, no, I'm familiar with the
- 1:09:48ACT. I just didn't know that.
- 1:09:49That's how you pronounce his name.
- 1:09:50Crawford was into this that Egypt's interim interest.
- 1:09:53Now is, is from London. He's a London boy.
- 1:09:55Hey, London boy, yeah, might as well as I say.
- 1:09:59I like London, boys. Someone under boy, so big up,
- 1:10:02London. I got bigger than London, Man.
- 1:10:04Pick up that big see London, massive.
- 1:10:07Okay. Anyway another what I like about
- 1:10:09Aegis is when he was in The Wire, he played someone from, I
- 1:10:11think it was Delaware and he put on the African American accent
- 1:10:15really well. Oh, cool.
- 1:10:16Anyway, that's off topic. But Luthor is a A crime series
- 1:10:21where it's sort of it starts its that before the title does like
- 1:10:26a criminal it's sort of reveals to reveal to the audience, what
- 1:10:32what it's going to be going down in the episode.
- 1:10:34For example, someone breaking into a house and murdering
- 1:10:36someone, or somebody being kidnapped and the title players
- 1:10:40and then, you know, blah, blah blah.
- 1:10:42But I always go into a fully sort of in-depth analysis of
- 1:10:48what this person's thinking. Like if somebody is stabbing
- 1:10:52people like for pleasure, like there was the last episode,
- 1:10:57actually I can't. It came out in January, last
- 1:11:00year, your time for your time for watching it, if you can't
- 1:11:03say spoiler alert anymore, but he was either the guy received
- 1:11:09sexual pleasure from stabbing people.
- 1:11:13He was mentally damaged and he his wife was therapist, which is
- 1:11:16how they met. But the guy stopped people and
- 1:11:21put needles in himself for pleasure and he's a surgeon.
- 1:11:28And he was, he was doing surgery on this woman and he was, you
- 1:11:31know, I was all right. And then his wife came in and he
- 1:11:34started looking at his wife and he started like his breathing
- 1:11:37started to Quicken, and he was like, he was becoming aroused by
- 1:11:41the fact that he was doing surgery on somebody.
- 1:11:44And just makes you think like how How is that?
- 1:11:49It the correct. Stimuli for feeling arousal of
- 1:11:52what, what? How are you thinking?
- 1:11:55How are you wired to think that that is people come in all
- 1:11:58shapes and sizes don't, I mean, like just talking about
- 1:12:01pedophilia for a second like obviously pedophilia is
- 1:12:04disgusting and horrible. It's something we need to
- 1:12:06eliminate but the prevailing narrative right now amongst the
- 1:12:10Peter files at least is that they're trying to normalize it.
- 1:12:13The trying to make like the what they're trying to say is that
- 1:12:16all this is, you know, Acceptable, this is just another
- 1:12:19sexual orientation or not orientation like a problem.
- 1:12:24The problem with it is, they don't know what harm, they're
- 1:12:27doing the children, they don't know what damage raping children
- 1:12:31does, but it's just sick. Like they're trying to, they're
- 1:12:33trying to make a thing that is is unnatural and disgusting
- 1:12:39Normal area scariest part about it, isn't the fact that they do
- 1:12:42it, it's the fact that if you ask them, do you think what
- 1:12:45you're doing? Is okay, do you think that
- 1:12:47adults And children, having sex is okay.
- 1:12:50And they would say that it is. Which in itself is horrifying.
- 1:12:58Yeah, I mean is very alarming to me, just seeing stuff like that
- 1:13:05in society, like seeing that actually being debated and like
- 1:13:10that those people kind of coming out of the woodwork and actually
- 1:13:15putting that forward like. Okay, let's just look at this
- 1:13:17for a second, right? Peter falls have always operated
- 1:13:21by behind the shadows and darkness are you know the hiding
- 1:13:24their activity and staff. Child trafficking the list goes
- 1:13:27All right, but now people are kind of almost exposing
- 1:13:31themselves publicly as being pedophiles and almost like being
- 1:13:35proud of it and kind of, like I said, pushing that narrative, my
- 1:13:38name, my name is Derrick Stewart and I'm King nonsense.
- 1:13:42Don't mess with me, but like sits on a serious, on a serious
- 1:13:46level. Like, they're, they're actually
- 1:13:49exposing themselves and saying, hey, we think that this should
- 1:13:53be, you know, included in the say lgbtq Ooh, a movement like
- 1:13:58this. You know, it should be included
- 1:14:00because, you know, it's part of inclusion.
- 1:14:03Like, you know, but the cons, the cons greatly outweigh the
- 1:14:07pros. There are no Pros do, dude?
- 1:14:09I mean, it's not, it's not a little bit the same.
- 1:14:11That's not why? I don't know.
- 1:14:13In terms of their argument that weighing it up, pros and cons,
- 1:14:17there aren't any pros, but they seem to think that there are
- 1:14:19there. Just, there's no way you could
- 1:14:21justify it at all. There's no way at all.
- 1:14:23Like, if they like, if you can't sit across a desk from someone
- 1:14:28and interrogate them and say, why are you why are you were
- 1:14:30nonce? They, there's no viable argument
- 1:14:33that they can give you To justify it.
- 1:14:38The reason why you cannot have sexual relationships, or normal
- 1:14:44relationships with children, is because they have no concept,
- 1:14:48no. Understanding of what our
- 1:14:50relationship even is, they're not old enough to make that
- 1:14:54decision for themselves there for you, you just can't do that.
- 1:14:59You just can't take their childhood away from them.
- 1:15:02Yeah, because it's both a mental and physical thing, June.
- 1:15:05And I mean, like, physically, it's not Okay.
- 1:15:09When's that lives? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:11It's it's there's so many layers to it.
- 1:15:14So many reasons, why it's wrong. Why it messes people are you
- 1:15:19nose? For me, I kind of think about,
- 1:15:25or at least, I believe in that narrative, that like, it should
- 1:15:27be considered as like a mental illness and I'm not trying to
- 1:15:30say like, you know, in a mocking way, I genuinely, you know,
- 1:15:33people really believed its prey on children and think it's okay.
- 1:15:37Are sick. Yeah, and I think if anything
- 1:15:40like those people just need to be but the, this is Dick.
- 1:15:45This is calm my concern, right? Let's say you approach it purely
- 1:15:50from a Scientific standard you say okay.
- 1:15:52So mental illness. So we're going to treat it.
- 1:15:53We're going to put people into a psychiatric facility, and we're
- 1:16:01going to try to cure this can. Can that be cured?
- 1:16:04Can you cure someone of having that sick kind of believe?
- 1:16:09Well, mine is that even possible?
- 1:16:11I think I think it might be and the sense that there are
- 1:16:15straight people who turn gay. They are who they bansi.
- 1:16:20Changes. So if someone can go from loving
- 1:16:24children to legally, loving an adult, I mean, it has to be
- 1:16:31possible. What, what started it in the
- 1:16:33first place that this is what I'm kind of fascinated by.
- 1:16:37I would love to know, like, because the thing is, if it was
- 1:16:40just like a small amount of people like, Okay, I know how
- 1:16:45this is going to sound, but just bear with me.
- 1:16:46If it was like a thing, like Like a rare disease.
- 1:16:52Do you know that sometimes you get like a small part of the
- 1:16:54population? Not point, one percent has like
- 1:16:57a particular disease and it's a very uncommon and it just
- 1:17:00happens, you know, DNA problems or whatever, just to let it just
- 1:17:05happens, right? Then you could argue, look our
- 1:17:07this is just an isolated thing. It happens to a small percentage
- 1:17:10of the population, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:17:13You know, it can be eradicated, it can be fixed, it can help can
- 1:17:15be given, right? But because there's so many
- 1:17:19people. Around the world.
- 1:17:21Don't be involved with this who operate behind the Shadows, some
- 1:17:26don't even do that. Some become obvious, you know,
- 1:17:30it's like a massive project. I think there's a guy around
- 1:17:32London called Mark feely who uses, who uses other mental
- 1:17:36illnesses to Shield himself. Hmm.
- 1:17:41Yeah. Well, I mean there's a lot of
- 1:17:42questions isn't on this issues. Its this is this is this is
- 1:17:46really a weird a weird topic of conversation.
- 1:17:50Just try to remember why I brought it up.
- 1:17:52I think I had a wider point. It was it was to do with We were
- 1:18:00to we were talking about like, oh yeah we were talking about
- 1:18:04Luther and then weird sexual King, right?
- 1:18:07And right so yeah like I think, you know, As long as I feel like
- 1:18:13as long as you're, as long as York Ink, doesn't harm anybody.
- 1:18:19Yeah. Emotionally.
- 1:18:22Then that's okay. Yeah, that's kind of what I
- 1:18:25believe as well I got. But I kind of get not illegal.
- 1:18:28I will say as well, just moving it back to your original point
- 1:18:31about like they're being like, very outlandish things.
- 1:18:33I think that there is a sense of, like, ridiculous
- 1:18:36sensationalism with certain things, you know, like a lot of
- 1:18:40people in real life who might have that.
- 1:18:42That kind of a kink where they get off on violence like it,
- 1:18:46it's rarely ever to like that crying a crazed over-the-top
- 1:18:51extent normally it's like control over your shoulders
- 1:18:54people. I know that wouldn't be angry if
- 1:18:58you slap them in the face, right?
- 1:19:00And this is kind of what I mean about how its more common than
- 1:19:04people realize. But I think that TV and films
- 1:19:07and stuff kind of sensationalize it and make it worse than maybe
- 1:19:12actually. Lee is in real life.
- 1:19:13You know, I things aren't always as they are portrayed on
- 1:19:18television and movies like often it's over the top.
- 1:19:21Well, I mean, people people like what people like and as long as
- 1:19:24it doesn't break the law. I'm not going to come knocking
- 1:19:26at your door. Yeah.
- 1:19:27Yeah. I think that's, that was it.
- 1:19:29That was a rhyme that ducks could use in one of his songs.
- 1:19:34Maybe. All right, so let's let's move
- 1:19:37it on to I mean you've said in the past you said in the last
- 1:19:43podcast that you're thinking of going to college and pursuing
- 1:19:47studies that still kind of your plan or?
- 1:19:50Yes, but first actually I enrolled in a school, it's
- 1:19:56called Novo Collision, which translates to new College which
- 1:20:01focuses primarily and singularly on learning the Dutch language,
- 1:20:09which I feel is necessary for me.
- 1:20:11You said this in the last podcast as well.
- 1:20:13But yeah, this is, you know, it's going to be very important
- 1:20:17for you living in the night. Begin, I begin on Wednesday.
- 1:20:21Oh wow. Okay.
- 1:20:22Very soon. Attend from from 10 to 12 and
- 1:20:25then the same on Thursday and then Friday is a full day, but
- 1:20:28lessons don't start till Monday. So I assume Wednesday through
- 1:20:31Friday is just going to be sort of like Icebreaker.
- 1:20:34I didn't know the fact, the fact that you're there as well, that
- 1:20:36I'm still the belief that if you're going to learn a
- 1:20:38language, you got to be in that country.
- 1:20:41The properly fully learn or even that will be around people who
- 1:20:46speak the language, often enough that you get enough practice in.
- 1:20:49So you're kind of in a perfect position, really to learn it.
- 1:20:53And that, I mean, I've been coming here for 10 years to
- 1:20:57talk. Look at forty forty, seven weeks
- 1:21:00on holiday. Damn, that's a lot.
- 1:21:03Yeah, so obviously, I've been practicing then as well.
- 1:21:06And when I was sat in that interview, she said well, I have
- 1:21:10a feeling that You're going in the top class mainly because I'm
- 1:21:14I myself am blown away by your Dutch and I don't think you're
- 1:21:19going to be out of here any later than January.
- 1:21:23Which means I might only be in that school for August.
- 1:21:29What's up for five months, that's really good, very
- 1:21:33promising. So yeah, once I've done that, as
- 1:21:36soon as I've got that nicked, then I can move on to actually
- 1:21:40go into some sort of engineering school, and learning and like
- 1:21:43trade. Which is very positive and I
- 1:21:47still have also there's job vacancies at a restaurant near
- 1:21:53my Village so I'm think I'm going to take a.
- 1:21:57I mean, working I'll say this much working in customer service
- 1:22:01in general is will give you so many skills and plus you know
- 1:22:06you're doing it in another country so yeah it's another
- 1:22:08opportunity to work on your language skill.
- 1:22:10I mean there's so many benefits to this, but yeah.
- 1:22:14Yeah, so yeah, I think I don't think I don't think I'll be
- 1:22:18working fully with people. I think I'll be sort of washing
- 1:22:21dishes or cleaning up or mopping.
- 1:22:23The floors are so if you can get customer-facing I would I would
- 1:22:29go for that. I would highly recommend it.
- 1:22:31It's not it's hard work, but it's I feel like there's a lot
- 1:22:34more to be learned front-of-house than there is
- 1:22:37backhoe house. Unless you're training to be
- 1:22:39like cooking and chefs and stuff, because I mean, it might
- 1:22:44be it might be. Is it?
- 1:22:45My age could be but I mean it's different in Europe, isn't only
- 1:22:50I've only, I've only just turned 16 in this job vacancies
- 1:22:53available from 16. So but they, but that might just
- 1:22:57be sort of cleaning and or any kind of work will be useful but
- 1:23:01I just think actually, you know she died.
- 1:23:04I've worked with people that are 16 in like supermarkets and such
- 1:23:08like there's nothing my cousin worked at Asda.
- 1:23:13I mean it's limited in terms So what you can do and stuff, and
- 1:23:15you have to rule the rules and the laws are different but shoe
- 1:23:19should be due to do, you will pick your me to turn my light
- 1:23:22on? No that's up to you I mean -
- 1:23:25yeah we can see you better. It's got its got unbelievably
- 1:23:28darker so I'm gonna be right back okay this time to grab
- 1:23:32yourself a drink or whatever you feel comfortable with and he's
- 1:23:36Lee, he's leaving in the middle of the bloody podcast.
- 1:23:38See did mother fudger she did You see what you don't realize
- 1:23:44is that. I have to continue talking now
- 1:23:47to everyone while you leave. And that's, that's a problem.
- 1:23:52You haven't thought this through.
- 1:23:54So you can't leave. Well, it's too late now, isn't
- 1:23:59it? Cause the lights already on and
- 1:24:00Burgett, when you're on your back?
- 1:24:02That's the important thing. Anyway, I returned it in just
- 1:24:05bug off. Let's move on.
- 1:24:07You're starting to Twitch. Tell us about that.
- 1:24:11Yes, I've made an accountant which I did one stream for about
- 1:24:1715 minutes. I wasn't I wasn't really Feelin
- 1:24:21it, but I feel like one, my thinking is that once I've built
- 1:24:25up enough following on YouTube, such as 1,000 or 2,000
- 1:24:30subscribers, that can sort of move them over to Twitch where
- 1:24:36it's more. Casual.
- 1:24:37Yeah, I am completely there with you.
- 1:24:39I've I've streamed And on Twitch since March.
- 1:24:43And I can tell you that, I know my latest stream, I literally
- 1:24:48said, I'm going to take a break from this and not do this
- 1:24:50because it kind of actually depresses me doing twitch
- 1:24:54streams and no one shows up and I put a lot of work into it and
- 1:24:57nothing happens. And to me, it seems like how I
- 1:25:00felt it's logical. It's logical to do it when
- 1:25:04you've built a following somewhere and you can kind of,
- 1:25:08you know, mean like PP. If you have a big enough
- 1:25:10following on YouTube, Tube people will want to you know
- 1:25:13come and see what you do. Exactly exactly.
- 1:25:15Yeah. They'll want to interact with
- 1:25:17you because that's that's the benefit of because that's
- 1:25:20because that's what people do really because all of the all of
- 1:25:22the popular YouTubers that go on Twitch everyone's like that.
- 1:25:26Hello know this may I'm here. Hello, say my name?
- 1:25:29Yeah, that sort of thing which is why people donate as well,
- 1:25:31they donate like to between two and five dollars or Euros or
- 1:25:36Pounds, just for the person that says, I know him Yeah, I would
- 1:25:40love that, man. I mean, but I think it like you
- 1:25:43say it but you have to build up a follow-up.
- 1:25:45There are plenty of streamers that have built up, followings
- 1:25:48in their own right, just through streaming.
- 1:25:50But like I don't know, for me, I don't have really the means to
- 1:25:54do that, I can continue to play retro games but I don't think
- 1:25:57anyone is really interested in watching that but like they
- 1:26:01might be in the future. If I think everybody sort of
- 1:26:06yourself have some leniency because you can just call it a
- 1:26:09letter. play and people like watching those on YouTube, but I
- 1:26:13think you sort of have to follow the sort of play the newest
- 1:26:18games and sort of be the most relevant that you can.
- 1:26:22Yeah, I don't like doing that. It's trendy.
- 1:26:24That's why I don't like it. I don't like doing that.
- 1:26:26I like doing my own thing and I see so many people that do their
- 1:26:30own thing as well and do. Well, you know I mean like just
- 1:26:32because the very top ones do. It certain way doesn't mean
- 1:26:35everyone else has to but the trouble is there's so many
- 1:26:37people that literally do nothing.
- 1:26:41And the only reason that they're doing well is because of like
- 1:26:43their looks or something. And like that to me is just so
- 1:26:47And it's the same with, it's the same with Tick-Tock.
- 1:26:52It's also pretty much the same Tick.
- 1:26:53Tock is I have a, I have a video with.
- 1:26:55I think it's on 52 thousand views, but I'm only on 300
- 1:26:59followers and it's because I'm not attractive enough for people
- 1:27:02to go. I want to see more of him on
- 1:27:04that page. Well anyway I hope it goes well
- 1:27:09man I hope I think you do. Well I mean you're kind of more
- 1:27:14the right age demographic. That's the drift.
- 1:27:16Tricky thing for me is that I'm older and less willing to do
- 1:27:20more trendy stuff. I'm more willing to kind of just
- 1:27:23do my brand and stuff that I enjoy.
- 1:27:25But if you're younger, you're more kind of in touch with
- 1:27:28things. You're more likely to build a
- 1:27:31bigger audience than some of the people that I've interviewed on
- 1:27:33my podcast so far, I'm not just yourself.
- 1:27:35Have like there's a guy. I interview called gamer Jack or
- 1:27:38Luffy, fruits, and believe. He's About 15 years old twitch
- 1:27:45streamer from from Malaysia and he I think he's got a following
- 1:27:49of light. He gets a lot of people in his
- 1:27:52dreams. He's been doing it awhile, but
- 1:27:55he, oh, yeah, in that kind of way.
- 1:27:57Even if he's doing well, my friend who used to do YouTube,
- 1:28:02he was in my school, used to do YouTube and he, he converted to
- 1:28:08Twitch. He's just reached the correct
- 1:28:11amount of followers to start getting monetization on a
- 1:28:14streams. Nice.
- 1:28:16Congrats. So, which is, which is weird so
- 1:28:20well. Only if you're out there
- 1:28:21watching this sup, good job, well done.
- 1:28:25It's so tricky, really to like, to know exactly what we're all
- 1:28:30doing. It so differently.
- 1:28:31Like I know I've said this before, but if I was doing
- 1:28:33different types of content that are trending, I'd probably grow
- 1:28:38a lot faster there. Right now.
- 1:28:39It's very Agro. A tiny bit it.
- 1:28:43Stagnates, I lose followers. Like the views are like Just
- 1:28:47very erratic and such, but like, I think, what I've realized is
- 1:28:53that it just takes a very, very long time.
- 1:28:56And people you just have to build a lot of regulars.
- 1:29:01Jen. And I mean, like, I can kind of
- 1:29:03see right now that there are rich people regular old, I think
- 1:29:07they're called super subscribers.
- 1:29:10I think I think that I think the term was where you have the
- 1:29:14regular audience plus, whoever sees it on never.
- 1:29:17Mended. Yeah but those those regular
- 1:29:20people is the people you want to build.
- 1:29:22Yeah. That and that's what I'm coming
- 1:29:24back and you can keep sort of it, sort of like, when you
- 1:29:27upload a video You're scooping the every now and again, watches
- 1:29:32and putting some in the, in the return and subscribers.
- 1:29:37But then, every single video you can scoop, and then it's weird.
- 1:29:40It's a weird algorithm, but I'm just holding out for the day
- 1:29:44that I start getting like more regular people commenting.
- 1:29:46And Tough and like soon as I have that small audience, I've
- 1:29:50said this if is 5 people, 10 people whatever I would be
- 1:29:53massively grateful for that and I would like be so much more
- 1:29:56motivated to make content 100. Because then, you know me
- 1:30:00because I know that there's that small audience, like I've said
- 1:30:03this before, like I used to obsess over the numbers and get,
- 1:30:06like really sad about it and stuff and I'm not like that
- 1:30:08anymore. But one thing that I am still
- 1:30:10hanging on. Is this idea of building a small
- 1:30:13audience and and clinging onto that and and making those People
- 1:30:17happy because I love doing what I do, but I want to entertain, I
- 1:30:23want people to enjoy it, you're not entertained.
- 1:30:28Yeah, but like when it's kind of disheartening, when no one
- 1:30:33watches and it's like the the least amount of views that I
- 1:30:38think I've got is about 20, which means that there's at
- 1:30:42least 20 return subscribers that watch my videos, which is
- 1:30:46fantastic. I mean, that's exactly Ali.
- 1:30:47What times what I'm saying? But then like the sort of some
- 1:30:51videos that get around 20 to 30. So I'm sort of thinking, okay, I
- 1:30:54won't do that anymore, but then this video was to get 70. 80 90
- 1:30:58100 where I'm like if I keep doing this and I five eventually
- 1:31:02hit gold, one of these is going to go viral and then I can gain
- 1:31:08maybe about 100 subscribers from it.
- 1:31:11Mmm-hmm we're all really depends.
- 1:31:14It does, I mean, I've already had some things.
- 1:31:17I'm not going to do again at least for the foreseeable future
- 1:31:20because you know, they just didn't do anything but It's
- 1:31:24Tricky. I mean, I've just started a
- 1:31:25let's play series which I recorded ages ago.
- 1:31:29It's no commentary, so that puts it at a disadvantage.
- 1:31:33But then there's a lot of no commentaries that have done
- 1:31:36well. So that was kind of my thinking.
- 1:31:37It was like, let's like I prefer no commentary sometimes.
- 1:31:41Yeah, many pizzas are men. So I want to, if I want to just
- 1:31:44sit down and watch the game play and just sort of help.
- 1:31:47Myself along it. Like if I'm playing as well.
- 1:31:49I don't want someone good. Well, I'm good too.
- 1:31:52Whoa, I expected it though to do.
- 1:31:55I can talk about it now actually, because it's out.
- 1:31:57So I'm doing, or I did Pokemon. Ruby.
- 1:32:02Let's play some game for the Game.
- 1:32:05Boy, Advance Game Boy Advance. I did it with an emulator and I
- 1:32:10completed the whole game. Did a bunch of extras?
- 1:32:13There's about 40 something episodes in total.
- 1:32:16I think. What about Episodes in or
- 1:32:18something. Now, and every video is doing
- 1:32:22about just shy of five use and I thought, for sure it's Pokemon.
- 1:32:30Are you using years ago? Using your tags?
- 1:32:33Yeah. Oh, I go nuts with my tags, man.
- 1:32:36I mean, that's, I mean, nobody sees them because there's a side
- 1:32:39of the video itself. Yeah, I know.
- 1:32:41I know it's accepted, its create a 10-1.
- 1:32:44Every time I upload a video, I go nuts with the tab.
- 1:32:46So very Pacific are very specific, very Bland and then I
- 1:32:52use I used to Buddy and so I just put on some of the
- 1:32:55suggested ones as well. Even if it has nothing to do
- 1:32:58with the video. There's my, there's my little
- 1:33:00confession. I use the other one as well.
- 1:33:02Yeah, you should watch doing that though because you get
- 1:33:05punished. If you do that it can affect
- 1:33:08your a bit of done it. Now, I've only done it like a
- 1:33:09couple times, I think. Hmm.
- 1:33:12I mean it's suggested for my channel.
- 1:33:15That's one of the videos that did well.
- 1:33:17Maybe for next that one tug in there.
- 1:33:20So I but then that's sort of misleading because if somebody
- 1:33:23types in Brad those bandar video and then one of my videos about
- 1:33:30Ford Raptor comes up the like, well, no one success I have had
- 1:33:35actually because I'm trying to look at the positives as much as
- 1:33:38I can, is that I've done my kind of YouTube SEO to a point where
- 1:33:45like if you type in my name, In YouTube or the podcast or
- 1:33:48something? It's all results related to me.
- 1:33:53Yeah, it's just for me as well. Yeah, it's done.
- 1:33:55It's done. Well yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:33:57So it's I'm going to I'm going to maybe try starting to get my
- 1:34:00actual full name up there because if if one of my friends
- 1:34:05don't know what my channels called but they probably would
- 1:34:08because of some I instr and snufkin stuff but if they don't
- 1:34:11have any of that they can just go hmm Dylan Pringle and then if
- 1:34:16it comes up and Up. There you go.
- 1:34:18Yeah. It's sensible to do that.
- 1:34:20Yeah, I do that sometimes other than just my Monica.
- 1:34:25Yeah, yeah, I do that a lot. If I have a guest say from like
- 1:34:30Estonia, for example, and I do, you know, are putting tags like
- 1:34:36Estonian musician, but then sometimes I just put like
- 1:34:39Estonia or put like the Estonian words for those things with the
- 1:34:45same thing in mind of like that. Maybe Maybe it will appear in
- 1:34:48recommended or it's related. If someone searches Estonian
- 1:34:51musicians in might be bumped up you know.
- 1:34:53Like that's one thing I like about this is that both British
- 1:34:58boys that know another language. I mean you know, some Estonian
- 1:35:02and I know some Dutch No, I must have used it as my gimmick
- 1:35:09because you know Dutch dolls are just sort of rings.
- 1:35:12Yeah, I think it's sensible for you.
- 1:35:14And for me I just like to learn languages.
- 1:35:17I like culture I always have all my friends are European pretty
- 1:35:22much like 90% so it's always blessed me now as well so I
- 1:35:28think it's it's not even like a case of like trying to be
- 1:35:32inclusive or so I think it's just there are people that
- 1:35:35Travel and mix. And and I do not, I mean because
- 1:35:39I used to think like, oh, it's a really unusual thing but now
- 1:35:42it's like, no, it's just, there are people that like to explore
- 1:35:46the world and immerse themselves in culture, I guess is what I'm
- 1:35:49trying to get to. And then there are people that
- 1:35:51just don't and it's fair enough, you know, you know, that in the
- 1:35:56sense that there are people that, you know, live every day
- 1:35:57of their life in say, like the states or the UK, and, you know,
- 1:36:01the most, they, they immerse themselves in another culture
- 1:36:04is, you know, No, a two-week holiday in south of France or
- 1:36:07something, it's not. Okay, you know, you don't have
- 1:36:10to, you know, it's not Bad. But I think like, you just you
- 1:36:17gain so much like I've changed as a person because of what I've
- 1:36:21been exposed to around the world.
- 1:36:22And, and like, how I've realized, like all the different
- 1:36:26possibilities and all these different countries, and
- 1:36:28different mindsets and some of the things I've seen, like you,
- 1:36:31I could never really explained properly and words, they're just
- 1:36:35incredible, you know, and yeah, I don't know.
- 1:36:40I'm just kind of fascinated by all of that stuff.
- 1:36:42So, Yeah, fair enough. Yeah, but I know what you mean.
- 1:36:45I think we are in a sense like a minority.
- 1:36:47I think I meet a lot of foreign people who, as in like foreign
- 1:36:52people come into the UK, who are kind of surprised when they meet
- 1:36:56me, that I'm interested in different cultures and stuff?
- 1:36:59I think it's maybe in the UK. It's assumed that British people
- 1:37:04don't care about Coach even though, like it's a very
- 1:37:07Multicultural Society. Oh my God, I hate, I hate the
- 1:37:10stereotypical British people across Conference and sip of tea
- 1:37:14and read newspapers. Enough goofy teeth.
- 1:37:17I mean, there is that that part of society but it's a very small
- 1:37:21percentage, really? That's just like, that's just
- 1:37:23like Central London. But I've seen very few people
- 1:37:29there actually like that, you know, your goddamn delinquents
- 1:37:35goddamn children damn, you to hell in little bits of fist.
- 1:37:40The fist shakers lesson. Let's draw it to a close with
- 1:37:45one final question. For today because I wanted to
- 1:37:49save this to the end and have like a surprise, what is the
- 1:37:55secret that you wanted to tell us about your Channel?
- 1:38:01Well. I'm not sure if you guys knew
- 1:38:06because this isn't a normal statistic and I'm just going to
- 1:38:09get it up now because it's probably went up. so, if I head
- 1:38:15over head on over to YouTube studio, and if I go to my
- 1:38:19Analytics, My watch time in minutes is 774 in the last 28
- 1:38:28days. My Views have went up by 504 in
- 1:38:32the last 28 days, I've gained for subscribers in the last 28
- 1:38:37days. I just want to say My overall,
- 1:38:40My overall views are over 1500 now.
- 1:38:48I'm actually right very envious of you and I'll tell you why in
- 1:38:5212 months it's taken me 12 months to get to 700 watch
- 1:38:57hours. And you've done it.
- 1:39:01In less than a month ago. This was this watch time.
- 1:39:04This is what time in minutes. Yeah, I think I have to, or hang
- 1:39:10on. Let me just let me just.
- 1:39:13Oh, okay, I've misunderstood so you don't meet you can you, can
- 1:39:17you still see it? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:39:19I can see. Yeah, I'm just going on YouTube
- 1:39:21studio, and if I go to monetization all, tell me
- 1:39:23exactly how many watch hours on that.
- 1:39:27Kidding. Well, you start to doing very
- 1:39:29well. Then, basically, you're
- 1:39:30performing. Well, I am performing quite
- 1:39:33well. I'm at 37 watch hours and a
- 1:39:37hunchback into subscribers for a minute.
- 1:39:40I thought you meant 700 watt hours.
- 1:39:41I how is he done it in a month? It's taken me 12 months just to
- 1:39:45get to this point and it's not even that good 700 Watts Towers
- 1:39:48is. some people do that in like space of a week but it's just
- 1:39:55it's just the fact that like It's just mud.
- 1:40:02I see videos do really well and they go.
- 1:40:04I mean, the pranking my dad videos up to almost 80 views
- 1:40:08now. Hey congrats.
- 1:40:10And it's just, it's a mental to see that 78.
- 1:40:13People have given enough a shit too short promo like because my
- 1:40:17my strategy whenever I upload a video.
- 1:40:20Sorry. Sorry.
- 1:40:20All I was I was wrong. I'm at 1900 views mixer is that
- 1:40:26channel, complete challenges, that's complete channel to use.
- 1:40:30Excellent. Yeah.
- 1:40:31What's the what's the strategy? Because my strategy is kind of
- 1:40:35like, you know, got Facebook page and I share on to my
- 1:40:39personal as well. Share on Instagram.
- 1:40:41I use Instagram stories now which I've just started using
- 1:40:44which yeah, I don't know my Instagram so as soon as I upload
- 1:40:49a video I take a photo of it and then I post it onto my Snapchat
- 1:40:53with a link to swipe up and watch it.
- 1:40:55You know, by the way you can just download the YouTube studio
- 1:40:59app and just download your thumbnail.
- 1:41:04I've done that. Okay, I just in case you didn't
- 1:41:06know this guy just so you can see the screen.
- 1:41:11You can see the video on it as well.
- 1:41:13Okay. Yeah.
- 1:41:14Fair play. As opposed to just a thumbnail.
- 1:41:17It's sort of like a behind the scenes look so I put on my
- 1:41:23Instagram story and I put the new link to the newest video in
- 1:41:27my bio and I just said new videos up like goodbye or show
- 1:41:31some support, I did the same on. Better use a couple of hashtags
- 1:41:34put on my Snapchat with a swipe up.
- 1:41:38I don't do it on Facebook as much.
- 1:41:40I feel like I should because that's where most of my reach
- 1:41:42appears to be coming from. Oh wow!
- 1:41:44Okay, which actually I should I've got a fly on my back.
- 1:41:51I gotta say I'm kind of confused with Facebook because I've
- 1:41:54started uploading videos. Like everything to my my
- 1:41:59Facebook slowly, and I'm essentially doing this thing
- 1:42:05where, okay? Like, if you take the podcast,
- 1:42:07as an example, is a delay. So I'll never upload the most
- 1:42:12recent one. I'll upload like the one before.
- 1:42:14So like let's say this podcast we're doing now, right comes
- 1:42:18out. I'm actually, I'm actually
- 1:42:20getting recommended a doctor because it says my impressions
- 1:42:24are 3, .5 K 10.4. Percent from YouTube,
- 1:42:28recommending your content. It works.
- 1:42:34Okay. So like I was saying I think
- 1:42:37it's worth doing it because just like YouTube you can operate
- 1:42:41Facebook as a Content creation thing like a Paul and you can
- 1:42:47earn money from it as well. You can get monetized because
- 1:42:49for a while I was wondering why do people bother with Facebook?
- 1:42:52And then I realized like okay they make money from it and for
- 1:42:56instance if you take like a sis, an example, a he just uploads
- 1:42:59Bunch that he uploads a new content to as well.
- 1:43:02But old content. A-and did tons of views for
- 1:43:07stuff that everyone is already seen.
- 1:43:09So I spent 20 London, just before we get into that, I just,
- 1:43:14I'll just finish what I was saying that I've started
- 1:43:16uploading all of this stuff onto my Facebook as a kind of delayed
- 1:43:21thing as a sort of strategy to encourage people to watch the
- 1:43:24Youtube. But like, ultimately they can
- 1:43:26see on on the Facebook eventually and I'm sort of like
- 1:43:30uploading all this old stuff and I'm like looking at some of the
- 1:43:32videos and sometimes they're actually doing.
- 1:43:34I'm really well. And I'm like, okay.
- 1:43:35Like some of the videos I've actually done better on face, do
- 1:43:38you recommend it? So, you recommend me using the
- 1:43:40Facebook more. Well, this is what I'm sort of
- 1:43:43going into send that. Actually that some of the videos
- 1:43:45I've uploaded, I've actually done better on Facebook than
- 1:43:48YouTube so I think it's like I always, I think it's always
- 1:43:52worth it to have your content available in as many places as
- 1:43:55possible and to have a presence wherever I think that will
- 1:43:59always be worth it. But I think the key thing is
- 1:44:03that Facebook Because it's a different audience and I have
- 1:44:06people who actually follow me on Facebook.
- 1:44:10That apparently don't watch my YouTube videos, but watch my
- 1:44:14videos on Facebook says I are. Okay, I guess I'll upload here
- 1:44:18as well then. Okay, I'm not sure precisely
- 1:44:23what this means different. But forty four point eight of my
- 1:44:28traffic is coming from Channel pages. 15.3 from YouTube search
- 1:44:3411.1 from notifications, 10.7 from people from like browse
- 1:44:40features and 6% from external. And if I go on to external it
- 1:44:47says that 26.7% is from Instagram and 23.3% from
- 1:44:55Facebook and then there's obviously Discord and Twitter
- 1:44:58and then Google. So it sounds like because I have
- 1:45:00a similar A thing on mine as well.
- 1:45:03Like, the external was always my lowest percentage generally even
- 1:45:07though I do loads of plugging and stuff and actually from what
- 1:45:12I understand, my videos are getting recommended.
- 1:45:13Now we've all of the same things that you're listing right there.
- 1:45:17So I think that, like, so long as you consistently upload and
- 1:45:21people see the videos and they comment and all that stuff.
- 1:45:24YouTube does eventually push. You on some sort of small scared
- 1:45:29because my views Says 10% of My Views have come from YouTube
- 1:45:34recommended my content. Yeah, the think it's my more
- 1:45:38popular videos such as our first one and ones that are doing
- 1:45:41better with more engagement that they're pushing on the people's
- 1:45:45recommend. It recommended pages but it's
- 1:45:48what you need, what you see, the problem is is how do you make
- 1:45:52people? I mean, how do people choose
- 1:45:55what their, what they click on from their recommended
- 1:45:58thumbnails good fun with us? So I feel like I have to go back
- 1:46:03and change my thumbnails and make that awaits.
- 1:46:06Yeah. I mean to be honest I'm holding
- 1:46:08out until I can get like a decent edit like I can pay for a
- 1:46:12designer or some shit like for instance with the Christian
- 1:46:15we've podcast. I eventually I want to get like
- 1:46:17a logo made up and someone to basically go through all of them
- 1:46:21and make good thumbnails for them because like I've seen it
- 1:46:25on, you probably won't for be familiar with this, but there's
- 1:46:28a channel called Cinemassacre which It is famous for being
- 1:46:34home of the Angry Video Game Nerd character, which is a
- 1:46:37character who reviews old video games and gets angry.
- 1:46:41It's just a bit of fun, but I think I've seen that before
- 1:46:44actually, right? It's been on the Internet or
- 1:46:46since like 2000 for so, very long time.
- 1:46:48It's grown, but it's still, it's still going strong.
- 1:46:51But anyway, the point is that, even though the series is still
- 1:46:56going on and there's new videos and stuff, the old videos from,
- 1:47:00like 2004 567, they've gone back and they've made thumbnails for
- 1:47:05them. Using like a mixture of like the
- 1:47:09new logo but then we've like an old image of the guy James Rolfe
- 1:47:13playing the character, right? So they've really gone and back
- 1:47:17and made an effort even though those videos are like somewhere,
- 1:47:20like 15 years old or 13 years old or something.
- 1:47:24So this, that there's something to be said for it.
- 1:47:27Are you aware with you were Channel branding?
- 1:47:32Would you mean I just stopped having my banners and she'll and
- 1:47:34your page and just don't know, just having having like a
- 1:47:38subscribe sort of thing in the bottom, right?
- 1:47:41Like, you know, when you're watching a video like on your on
- 1:47:44your phone or something and at the bottom, there's sort of like
- 1:47:47a create a logo and if you hover over on your on your laptop or
- 1:47:50if you press on it, it brings up a subscribe button.
- 1:47:54I think I've seen that currently that is one of the probably,
- 1:47:57that's one of the golden tools to get people to subscribe
- 1:48:00because then they can survive inside of the video.
- 1:48:03It's in YouTube studio. Just don't mean just sort of
- 1:48:07watch a video on how to add a channel branding, you'll be
- 1:48:09like, ah, I'm gonna look in YouTube.
- 1:48:14Yeah, you really, you really should So Channel Brandon, of
- 1:48:19course I need I need an editor man.
- 1:48:21I need to just someone to do this shit for me.
- 1:48:24I mean the people who the person who made my banner and my
- 1:48:26profile picture is a close friend of mine who likes to help
- 1:48:31if you watching this. Thank you Louis.
- 1:48:33You're doing a good job. You're a good man even though
- 1:48:39you used the Fortnight sort of the friggin Fortnight Bond, and
- 1:48:44get another got the shit kicked out of me a little bit.
- 1:48:48Listen, then it's it sounds like you're doing very well on
- 1:48:51YouTube and I'm very happy to hear that.
- 1:48:54I look forward to seeing like more of the sort of stuff based
- 1:48:59around you just being in Holland.
- 1:49:00And I think a lot of people especially UK fans are going to
- 1:49:06really We appreciate that too. I know a lot of I've just
- 1:49:10checked and like I think it was 97 percent of my audience from
- 1:49:17the UK. Yeah.
- 1:49:20But it's still mud to see the 55% of them are not subscribed
- 1:49:26Madness. Yeah, so it's like this, I think
- 1:49:29it's for me, it's like 80% are not subscribed something, it's
- 1:49:35an out. I think fit for me though, I
- 1:49:38don't push it. I never ask people to subscribe
- 1:49:40to me and I think maybe that might have a difference if I
- 1:49:44started doing that. But it's my thing that I don't
- 1:49:47do that. I just, I mean, I'm not asking
- 1:49:49for subscribers. I just sort of I mean I'm not
- 1:49:52even doing it as a joke either. Maybe even just saying it is
- 1:49:55what I'm trying to learn. If you just say it all of this,
- 1:49:58say the words you just say like, you know, then it gets in
- 1:50:03people's minds and I think in because I Don't do that and some
- 1:50:07people's that I've seen. It actually has worked because
- 1:50:10there's a YouTuber that I watch called human human thigh.
- 1:50:13Karen is a racing YouTuber and he started saying it and I saw
- 1:50:20the percentage as the videos went on go down.
- 1:50:23Hmm. I guess it varies for every
- 1:50:28YouTuber, like, because it because he sort of does it in a
- 1:50:33funny way where we sort of he sort of says, and before we get
- 1:50:39into this video, 51% of you aren't subscribed and Madness,
- 1:50:43if you don't subscribe yet. If that number doesn't change,
- 1:50:46I'll shank in an big up and he in his in his most recent video
- 1:50:52you you picked up a Dyson Hoover.
- 1:50:55He said, I'll Mike Tyson you It was, it was kind of funny.
- 1:50:59It's I just don't know why I picked up a Hoover.
- 1:51:03And I'm Allison. I think I'm not bombshell well
- 1:51:07when do that. But thank you so much for for
- 1:51:10appearing, man. And just want to say worry.
- 1:51:13I'll keep, I'll keep you in away from you guys.
- 1:51:15He's on the Run. Just want to say again, like,
- 1:51:20thanks for appearing. Congratulations on your GCSE
- 1:51:23results, I hope the rest of them turn out.
- 1:51:25Well, I'm sure they will best of luck with the twitch.
- 1:51:29I'll be interested to see what you come up with on that and I'd
- 1:51:33say go for it as well. I think you have a better chance
- 1:51:36than most just because you have that quirky kind of sense of
- 1:51:38humor. I think people would be
- 1:51:40interested in that and in general just keep doing what
- 1:51:44you're doing with YouTube. I think you doing very well and
- 1:51:48thank you. You're doing a good job as well.
- 1:51:50I stopped by your channel every so often just sort of catch up a
- 1:51:53little bit. Well thank you very much you
- 1:51:55should and you should definitely subscribe.
- 1:51:57What are you doing? This man is good.
- 1:51:59Yeah, I Gotta Get Smoked lat. Time will tell with that one,
- 1:52:04we're still very early days, but I mean, you know, I do have to
- 1:52:08kind of say that it starts somewhere.
- 1:52:10Yeah, we the weird thing about it.
- 1:52:13I find it. I'll just leave this on a final
- 1:52:15note is that like Hello. My friends on YouTube of said
- 1:52:19you know you have to sit back and celebrate successes and you
- 1:52:22know I for instance I've got up to like 25 K views on the
- 1:52:26channel which is amazing for 50 subscribers which when you think
- 1:52:32that you know this time last year or a bit before then I was
- 1:52:37on maybe 80 90 subscribers. So there's a lot of growth in
- 1:52:41that period And I think now there's more regular Structured
- 1:52:49content. It's like, there's as Vlogs.
- 1:52:51There's the podcast. There's little, you know, me
- 1:52:53little things here and there that people can look forward to
- 1:52:56as opposed to just random. Yeah, but again, it and this is
- 1:53:01why I'm very skeptical of everything at least on my
- 1:53:04channel. Because when I compare it to
- 1:53:05other peoples, I don't do it in a negative way.
- 1:53:08I don't get like annoyed any more upset, but I do look at it.
- 1:53:11Like, you know, if you take yours as an example, every time,
- 1:53:1620 views, you've got that. Those regular views coming in
- 1:53:19right, but mine are too erratic. You know, it's I can't really
- 1:53:24learn anything from mine as much as I try to.
- 1:53:29I try to keep my content consistent as much as I can.
- 1:53:33And, you know, I try to focus on just doing what I love now,
- 1:53:38instead of like, what I think will work, but there are certain
- 1:53:43things that I've stopped doing. Not just because I, you know, I
- 1:53:49maybe don't think it's working but also because I don't enjoy
- 1:53:52it and I'm thinking like there's no point just doing stuff
- 1:53:54because you don't, you want to try and get views but it's all
- 1:54:00about finding finding that one video that gets the just goes
- 1:54:05mad, I mean, and I do wonder about that sometimes I do wonder
- 1:54:09if that, that's what it will be. But the funny thing about that
- 1:54:12is it could come at any time, it could come right now, it could
- 1:54:15be five years. From now do you know what I
- 1:54:17mean? And then that's how that's how
- 1:54:19it always happens. Is like that one viral video,
- 1:54:22but the problem is, is the viral video that you have to make, or
- 1:54:27you have to make sure that your viral video is like your other
- 1:54:30content. Yeah.
- 1:54:32Because then if you're lucky your channel, it is something
- 1:54:34something completely different than one bother.
- 1:54:35To subscribe what I think, is what?
- 1:54:38Yeah, this is I've said this before, as well, like there's no
- 1:54:40point creating a video just to get views.
- 1:54:43And then you know, people Subscribe like crazy and then
- 1:54:47don't want to watch your content.
- 1:54:49I mean, that's counterproductive, but my
- 1:54:53Approach now is I always just put in like, the maximum effort
- 1:54:58into like main Channel content, second Channel.
- 1:55:00I don't care. I just do whatever the hell I
- 1:55:01want, but main channel is like, I plan it.
- 1:55:05Like, if you take the podcast as an example, I think probably
- 1:55:09eventually this is going to take over the channel.
- 1:55:12I mean, since when I mean one was one was the Time, I called
- 1:55:17you up to talk about this specific podcast.
- 1:55:20It was. It was a little less than it was
- 1:55:24like five or six days ago, wasn't it?
- 1:55:27Possibly. Yes, you know, it was it was
- 1:55:31quite a while ago and we are just sort of said.
- 1:55:34Yeah. You know, you want to have a
- 1:55:36recurring visitor and then we talk about what we want to do.
- 1:55:39And you planned it, you wrote it down.
- 1:55:41Well, I do. I do that.
- 1:55:42I do that with effort that you put in.
- 1:55:45No, I mean like I from day one, I knew that this would have to
- 1:55:48be planned. I did think about having it as a
- 1:55:51very, you know, chatty podcasts. Like I'd done in the past or
- 1:55:56like other people do. But it doesn't really fit me.
- 1:56:00And I've discovered actually through this I mean and this is
- 1:56:03why you should always try different things in life and
- 1:56:06like why does value in just putting yourself out there and
- 1:56:08try and things. I really like to interview
- 1:56:11people. It's interesting, it's fun.
- 1:56:15I'm able to do it in a professional way where I think I
- 1:56:18make the people feel comfortable and one thing I realized I'm
- 1:56:22able to do as well which is really cool is make people feel
- 1:56:25comfortable so you can give me someone who's like really shy
- 1:56:28and not great at talking and I can make them talk.
- 1:56:31I can make them comfortable, some people in the podcast of
- 1:56:34shared things. That from what I understand,
- 1:56:36they normally wouldn't share. I did that the first time I came
- 1:56:41here, I went really deep. I think it's about feeling
- 1:56:45comfortable with with the person you're talking to and feeling
- 1:56:48like there's no ulterior motives that they're not trying to
- 1:56:52because, for me, it's, I was at the heart of the interviews.
- 1:56:56I People to be put over in the best way and then repeat guests
- 1:57:03such as yourself. Are, you know, it's an
- 1:57:06opportunity to catch up with you, see where you're at, see
- 1:57:09what you're doing. But yeah, also to just chat
- 1:57:11about things in general, and basically, I guess the point I'm
- 1:57:15trying to get to is that like I started with one thing and now
- 1:57:20it's kind of evolved into different things.
- 1:57:22There's different things that I do with this.
- 1:57:24But from what I can see, people are mostly enjoying like the
- 1:57:27interviews that seems to be like, what people are into, and
- 1:57:32I enjoy it too. But yeah, it takes a lot of
- 1:57:34work, and I have to think about it, and every guest is
- 1:57:38different. So I have to approach it
- 1:57:39differently in every, in every, with every guest.
- 1:57:44But I genuinely think that this is probably going to take over
- 1:57:47the channel, like, I'll always do vlogs.
- 1:57:48I'll always, you know, do video because I like to make and I'll
- 1:57:52always do acting and music because I love those things too,
- 1:57:55but Whether or not you see me doing gaming, vids reaction
- 1:57:59videos, that kind of stuff, maybe not, I don't know.
- 1:58:05I mean, I'll definitely do urbex again when I can get a crew
- 1:58:09together and stuff because I love doing that.
- 1:58:13But yeah, I think this might be the thing that the channel leads
- 1:58:17with potentially. So, we'll see also a final
- 1:58:23thing. I'm pretty sure I forgot to
- 1:58:24mention this. What's gonna happen with that
- 1:58:28acting video that we made together the sort of obviously
- 1:58:31distanced, you know, I was going to ask this, didn't you?
- 1:58:37Yeah, you saw this, you sell this kind of this gonna be, I'm
- 1:58:39gonna be really honest, I don't mind if it doesn't get uploaded.
- 1:58:43It will go up like that so it will go upload it.
- 1:58:49I mean this is the thing I where I thought I could have done
- 1:58:51better, this is the thing when I found out it was out of order,
- 1:58:56it wasn't in order. I became so demotivated in terms
- 1:59:02of doing it because I know how long it's going to take.
- 1:59:04And then I started realizing all the Ashok, I got to do on top of
- 1:59:07it. So not only do I have to order
- 1:59:09it by also have to clip it and edit it and then I gotta find
- 1:59:14music that fits that can be used.
- 1:59:18And the thing is we had we had a little misunderstanding because
- 1:59:22you thought it was going on my channel.
- 1:59:23I thought was gone on yours so we saw we sort of got Lost in
- 1:59:26Translation a little bit there. Yeah, that's a minor issue
- 1:59:29though. I think I did think actually
- 1:59:31though, again, I wanted it to go in yours because I wanted you to
- 1:59:35try to see what you can come up with.
- 1:59:39And also, I'm just going to be root for real because I'm always
- 1:59:42honest about these things. I don't give a fuck, it's
- 1:59:46exposure for me because I'm on your Channel.
- 1:59:48And I'm always looking for opportunities to collab with
- 1:59:51people and appear on their Channel.
- 1:59:53And I think anyone that does, YouTube should always do that.
- 1:59:56Because the more places you are in, the more you'll see is I
- 2:00:01just saw it as a fun sort of acting experiment.
- 2:00:03Yeah. And like again like I, you know,
- 2:00:07I love acting anyway, so I would do it.
- 2:00:09Anyway. I'm just saying that, like, that
- 2:00:10was my thought going into, it was, I can appear on his channel
- 2:00:14and it's it's a collab opportunity and you will, you
- 2:00:17will appear on my channel. You don't, you worry about that.
- 2:00:19Now let me just get together, eventually, I'm interested to
- 2:00:23know in what capacity because now that we're in different
- 2:00:26countries, that's that's going to be somewhat difficult.
- 2:00:31Maybe I'm one of my maybe on one of my visits, we can do a vlog
- 2:00:35maybe. Yeah.
- 2:00:36Or if you start up your own podcast maybe you will you know
- 2:00:38because there's if you unless everyone.
- 2:00:41Right, viewers, if you're listening, if you've tuned in,
- 2:00:43if you're still here, two hours in 5 likes, and I can guarantee
- 2:00:48a Blog with me and Christian Ruth.
- 2:00:50How about that? Well, damn.
- 2:00:52There you go. He said, I've like five likes
- 2:00:55and it will happen and it 10 Vlogs, 10 Vlogs equals two
- 2:01:00blocks. And so on, goes up in the five
- 2:01:04times table, five times table, I'm tired.
- 2:01:08All right, well, let's let's draw it to a close.
- 2:01:10There were all tired. Will had a good chat here and
- 2:01:12know it's been. It's been a lot of fun having
- 2:01:14you back on the show and you're always ready to be here to
- 2:01:19everyone listening on Spotify or an apple podcast, Google
- 2:01:22podcasts YouTube. I do hope indeed that everyone
- 2:01:27does come and check out the podcast on YouTube because you
- 2:01:31know, it's video podcasts now. So it's an opportunity to see
- 2:01:34us. I will eventually stop talking
- 2:01:36about this but right now it's fresh its new, it's interesting
- 2:01:39and you know you Yeah. See I can wave that I can wave a
- 2:01:43Christian but the thing is that's the thing.
- 2:01:47No one knows on Spotify or anchor or anywhere else that
- 2:01:50nobody nobody knows what I'm doing right now.
- 2:01:52Yeah. They don't know what you're
- 2:01:53doing, you know, I'm waving. I'm not doing anything rude, I
- 2:01:56promise. But yeah, basically everyone
- 2:01:59who's listening. Thank you so much for your
- 2:02:00support. I appreciate you.
- 2:02:03I love doing this as you know. And yeah, if you like to appear
- 2:02:07on the podcast or you know anyone that would like to appear
- 2:02:10on the podcast you'd like it. Bossier, you know, send them my
- 2:02:13way. I would love to interview them,
- 2:02:14I love doing this. I'm always looking for new
- 2:02:18guests. New people to talk to to learn
- 2:02:20about just in general. This whole experience is
- 2:02:24fantastic and I'm learning a lot from it and I'm really enjoying
- 2:02:27it and I hope you are too. And yeah once again thank you
- 2:02:31very much Dan for appearing. As always, it's a pleasure.
- 2:02:35Thank you everyone. For listening to the question.
- 2:02:38We have podcasts. And until next time, peace out.
- 2:02:41I love Chow. I love Chow.
