- 0:02one of the biggest fights of the year so we have to get one of
- 0:04the biggest guests
- 0:06that we get all year eddie crop great trainer great fighter
- 0:10gervonta davis lamont
- 0:11roach give us the analysis for those people that are eager to
- 0:14spend their money
- 0:17Look,
- 0:18I think that,
- 0:21as usual,
- 0:23Tank will be on a,
- 0:25like,
- 0:26a seek and destroy mission.
- 0:28And,
- 0:29you know,
- 0:30he will,
- 0:30like,
- 0:30take his time patiently,
- 0:32you know,
- 0:33kind of inch his way forward.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Try...
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: He'll try to make Lamont miss a little bit,
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: but if the speed...
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Because Lamont likes speed,
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: and he's got a lot of speed,
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: and he faints.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: He's kind of good at disguising what he's going to throw.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: So I think that Dramonte will have to use some more...
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: hands and arms and blocking for defense,
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: as opposed to just,
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: like,
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: slipping punches and quick feet.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: And once he,
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: can kind of get the range and the timing,
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: he should be able to exploit some openings and finish it early.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Like, I haven't seen Lamont Rose Jr.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: really get cracked.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I mean...
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: He probably has got a tough, really good chin.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Nobody gets to that level without it.
- 1:29Well,
- 1:30I shouldn't say no one,
- 1:31but most fighters don't get to that level without a chin.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Or at least the ability to recover from punches.
- 1:42Some people,
- 1:43their chins might not be the sturdiest,
- 1:45but they recover quickly.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: And he may fall in that category.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: But I've always felt that Tank...
- 1:53Javonta Davis is a special fighter and I was kind of going over
- 1:57it in my head and I
- 2:00remember one time you were at my gym and I can't remember what
- 2:04year this was
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: And it might have been when Ricardo was still fighting.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: This is how long ago it was.
- 2:11But you were asking me who,
- 2:13you know,
- 2:14the newer crop of fighters who I liked.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: And this was before Davis won a title.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: And I go, I like that.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: I like Javante Davis.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Like, I like a lot of things that he does.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: And I think he's going to be good.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: No, he's special.
- 2:32I remember you told me that he slips the punches and his
- 2:36defense turns into office,
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: which is one of the things that makes him very,
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: very tough to fight.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: I'm glad that you remember that.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:45I remember these things,
- 2:46man,
- 2:46because like you're learning lessons,
- 2:48right?
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: You learn these things.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: It's like I was telling someone the other day,
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: experience isn't like something that can be taught per se,
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: but it's going to your gym for like a year over the period of 10 years.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: You pick up little things and you might not always remember it,
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: but now you know the things to look for.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Like, ah, he looks dead on the scale.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, he's slipping punches.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: It's just little things.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:12thank you um oh yeah and so that that was one of the things
- 3:16that i really that i
- 3:17really liked about him um and you know it's kind of one of the
- 3:22nuances people
- 3:24people don't you know pick up on usually right away and but i
- 3:28could see it in him
- 3:29like you know before he won the title yeah he's he's really
- 3:32good now my question to
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: you is
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: when fighters bring up retirement, it scares me.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: And he's,
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: he's saying that boxing,
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: I don't want to put words in his mouth,
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: but it sounds like he does have a huge passion for boxing.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: It was a way for him to make money.
- 3:45He's very good at it,
- 3:46but he sees a retirement because he feels a lot of pressure.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: It seems there's other things too.
- 3:52What do you make of a fighter saying they're thinking about
- 3:54retirement in the near future?
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Given that always makes me nervous.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: No, I agree with you.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Um,
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: And,
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: I haven't really,
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: like,
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: I don't follow or,
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: like,
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: listen to,
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: like,
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: a lot of the interviews as much as I should anymore.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: I just kind of like watching the fights, right?
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: And, yes, I agree with you, though.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: It is...
- 4:23a concern when fighters start talking about walking you know
- 4:28when it's time to walk
- 4:29away because really you know if you're if you have like one eye
- 4:33on the door you
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: probably should go right if um
- 4:39Because as soon as you're not completely focused,
- 4:41100 percent focus is when you get hurt.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: So or you get beat.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: And so, yeah, that that definitely is something.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: that Roach Jr.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: could possibly exploit.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Because if you're looking at retirement and you're thinking about it,
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: you go,
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: okay,
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: well,
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: you know what?
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: I made this much money, this much money.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: I got this much invested.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I've got this much in residual income.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: It'll last me this long.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: If I live frugally, it'll last me the rest of my life.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Most of my kids will be taken care of too.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Then, you know what?
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: What are you fighting for?
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: You know, what do you fight?
- 5:29So and if you're thinking of it in that way,
- 5:33you're not going to train the way you should.
- 5:36So that definitely could be something that works and wrote
- 5:41Junior's favor.
- 5:42I also think that Lamont's only way to win,
- 5:45in my opinion,
- 5:46is to punch with Gervonta.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: He has to punch with him and he has to catch him at some point.
- 5:50He can outbox him,
- 5:52but I don't think it's possible to outbox Tank for a 12-round fight.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: At some point, he's going to catch you.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: The only path to victory I see is punching with him.
- 6:00If he catches Gervonta,
- 6:01I'm curious to see how Gervonta responds to that with these comments.
- 6:07Yeah,
- 6:07I mean,
- 6:08because sometimes you're right with those types of comments.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: You're like, what am I doing this for?
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: I don't need to do this.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: But I also don't look at Roche Jr.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: as such a huge puncher that it's going to,
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: make you rethink your life when you get hit,
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: right?
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: Where if Javante hits you, you're rethinking your life.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: You're like, what am I doing?
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: You know, like they want to do that.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: I see double...
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: This fight's done.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: I can't, you know, I can't see straight, right?
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: and so hopefully,
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: I am looking forward to a good fight,
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: especially,
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: after,
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: talking about that,
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: right?
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: I expect it to be a little bit more competitive, right?
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: than what I did originally.
- 7:11And not only that,
- 7:12it's just the whole regional aspect of it is intriguing.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: They know each other.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they know each other.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: And there's like a rivalry, you know, between their little areas.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: So, you know, that's always fun to see.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: You know, all the...
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: everybody gets bragging rights,
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: and,
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: Roach Seniors seems to be a decent coach,
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: you know.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: He's a great coach, man.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: I know him.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, he's a good coach.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: I got to say, like, I'm all and one against him right now.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: So he probably wouldn't even know me.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: You'd be surprised.
- 7:52You know,
- 7:53Benjamin Johnson and all those guys,
- 7:55they got a good team there.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: I just think that there's going to be –
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: People are underestimating going into this fight,
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: and the regional side of it,
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: I think,
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: is going to play a factor.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: It's a shame we never got an SF Oakland fight at a high level.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, well, there hasn't been two guys, I think, has there?
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: I'm trying to think of it.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Not in my lifetime,
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: I can't think of two guys,
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: but I mean,
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: that's...
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: I mean,
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: it's...
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: I mean,
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: like,
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: the biggest regional fight that we had,
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: San Francisco-Oakland that we've had in a while...
- 8:35yeah Belial and Chikis right and that just like that like
- 8:42little club fight was the
- 8:45atmosphere was so intense like I you know didn't even really
- 8:49like I didn't think
- 8:51about it like leading up to the fight but once we got there and
- 8:58I was like
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: Wow, you know what?
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: I didn't even, like, think about that.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Like, it just never crossed my mind.
- 9:06It never crossed my mind until,
- 9:08like,
- 9:08you know,
- 9:08the fight started happening.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Or,
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: like,
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: we were at the fight and,
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: it was a fun night and it was almost an awesome,
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: magical night for us.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: But, you know, it turned around and became kind of a bummer.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah,
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: well,
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: for those that aren't subscribers,
- 9:28you've got to ship over to the newsletter now to get the final
- 9:31thoughts on this one.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: I wanted to get your thoughts on Valenzuela, Gary Antoine, Russell.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Interesting, interesting fight.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: What are your thoughts?
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Man,
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: well,
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: I'm a huge fan of Antoine Russell because,
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: like,
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: I mean,
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: the guy fights with so much just,
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: like,
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: aggression.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: But it's not, like, reckless aggression.
- 9:57The guy,
- 9:58you know,
- 9:59he can be surgical with it,
- 10:01and he's just coming at you really hard.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: Fairly defensively responsible.
- 10:08And,
- 10:09you know,
- 10:10just when he hits you,
- 10:11he seems so heavy-handed and mean with it.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: So I'm a really big fan of his.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: And Valenzuela, that's Oryo, right?
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and, you know, I mean, he pulled off a huge upset.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: And, you know, he outboxed Pitbull.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: The weird thing is like two fights ago,
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: I would have taken Antoine Russell,
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: but momentum is so big in boxing.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: And when you don't have momentum, it really stalls careers.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: And it's it seems like Rio has all the momentum.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, it does.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: But like,
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 10:50like a good like a good right hand to the chin can like end
- 10:55that momentum,
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: too.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well-timed shot.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: A well-timed shot can really change momentum.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: Here's a fight that I really like.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: Alberto Puello versus Sandor Martin.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Puello, to me, might be the best 140-pound fighter in the world.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: He's not that fun to watch, per se.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: It's not a sexy pick, but he's a really difficult fight.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: Sandor Martin is really established.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: He's got a win over Mikey Garcia, could have beat Teofimo Lopez.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: But I think Puello is going to really stand out as the guy in this fight.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: I do, too.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, look, Sandor is good.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: You know, he is... He's good, but he's like a notch below...
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: like the world-class guys, right?
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he beat Mikey.
- 11:44But once again,
- 11:45like Mikey at that time was kind of like what we're talking
- 11:50about tank now.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: You know, I want to retire.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: I'm going to eat McDonald's, you know, drive around my fast cars.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: I made money.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: I'm good, right?
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: You know, like,
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: he's not,
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: like,
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: looking to put himself through,
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: like,
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: hell and training and get himself,
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: in tip-top shape.
- 12:13And,
- 12:13like,
- 12:14he just – at that point,
- 12:15I felt like he was going through the motions.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: Like, I loved Mikey Garcia.
- 12:19Like,
- 12:20I tell everybody,
- 12:22you know,
- 12:22the first time I saw him was at the State Golden Gloves in –
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: and we were in Visalia and,
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: I had a kid and,
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: and,
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: and Mikey fought Stan,
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: uh,
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: Martin,
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Martin Luke.
- 12:39And,
- 12:39you know,
- 12:40I was like looking and I go,
- 12:42Stan is kind of getting like torn up over here.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: I feel bad.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: And it was like, it was a pretty bad beating.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: And I look and I go, man, that's Robert.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: I was like, what's up, Robert?
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: How you doing, man?
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: He goes,
- 12:56good Eddie I go who's that he goes that's my little brother
- 12:59like damn right and so
- 13:02you know we end up going to the Nationals uh you know and and
- 13:08you know went to the
- 13:09Nationals in Little Rock Arkansas and you know I watched Mikey
- 13:13that week and I said
- 13:14man this guy is going to be great right he's going to be great
- 13:18and and look
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: My wife, Casey, she worked with Mikey a lot at Snack.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: She had the pleasure, the luxury, to work with Mikey at Snack.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: She told me what a gifted athlete he was.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: The guy had just great genetics and
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: You know, just... Not the attitude, man.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: I know Mikey pretty well,
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: and it's like,
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: he's the type of guy where it's like,
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: he'll train,
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: but he's like,
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: I want to beat someone up.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: And it's like, you can't teach toughness.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: And there's certain guys that are like, okay, cool, cool, cool.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: When do I get to punch somebody?
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: And that was like, on top of being a scientist, he was just mean.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: Like, he had a meanness about him.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and yeah, and like...
- 14:14When you combine that meanness with technical precision,
- 14:22that makes it really mean.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: I tell people if you have speed, power,
- 14:35timing you need like like above average exceptional one of
- 14:39those three things speed
- 14:41timing power right one of those three things and if you have
- 14:46one of those three
- 14:47things that's like above average you have a chance to become
- 14:53you know a champion at
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: least contend for a title
- 14:57right if you have a combination of two of the two then chances
- 15:02are you'll become a
- 15:03champ if you have all three speed timing and power then you
- 15:09could be an all-time
- 15:10great or multi-division champion or something of that nature
- 15:14and you know mikey was
- 15:15fast he had great timing and he had heavy hands so you know
- 15:21along with great
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: genetics
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: And that mean edge, right?
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: So that's what really made him him.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, he was special.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Opening the card, UNA's Talese taking on Julian Williams.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Any thoughts on this fight?
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: Jaywalk?
- 15:45man well you know what i haven't seen till he's fight but i
- 15:48heard he's like he's
- 15:50like a rough guy or not rough but like skillful and good right
- 15:56and i like you know
- 15:57he's a puncher like i'd say he's close he's a cuban but he's
- 16:00closer to your ennis
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: your dennis ugas than he is guermo rigendiao okay i mean it it
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: He's got a good right hand.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: He can also be outworked.
- 16:16There's probably a reason why you haven't heard of him just yet,
- 16:19but he has power.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 16:21his best performance was he knocked out Sergio Garcia on the
- 16:24Spence Crawford undercard.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: That's probably his best performance.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: I mean,
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: like,
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: I would love,
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: like,
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: I would love to see J-Rock pull something like this off because,
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: I think I,
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: like,
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: He's like a fighter's fighter.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: I've always liked J-Rock.
- 16:45Not a flashy guy,
- 16:46but get out there and kind of like a hard hat type of guy.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: So I would like to see him win, but you know what?
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: I think he's seen better days,
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: and like,
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: guys like invested well in real estate and,
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: managing a bunch of properties that just keep doing that.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: I think he has a, like, look,
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: I'm with you on Julian because I like Julian a lot.
- 17:15He's a great guy,
- 17:16and he's probably one of the funnest train camps I've ever been
- 17:18in camp with.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: If he's going to take a fight, this is a winnable fight.
- 17:22This is the level of guy where if he's still got something
- 17:25which he believes he does,
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: this is the level of guy he should beat because in his prime,
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: I think he beats a guy like this.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:33If he wants to keep going,
- 17:34this is the type of fight he has to win at this point.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, so look, in his prime, yeah.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: He beats a guy like this, but he's not close to his prime.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: And if he does beat the guy like this,
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: like if he does beat,
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: is he going to beat the next level up?
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: I mean,
- 17:55I think hopefully the next level up is like is going to be
- 17:59financially worth it.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, like, who knows?
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: You put it,
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: with the money he's getting here,
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: he put a down payment on a place in Philly on the rental property.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Jarrett Hurd against Johan Gonzalez.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: My gut is telling me this is going to be a really, really close fight.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: And it's like...
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Like,
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Hurd,
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: I don't...
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: And I also don't see Hurd,
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: like,
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: having,
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: like,
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: any...
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: ability to really separate himself from, from people now.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: Where at one time he did,
- 18:37especially when at one 54 or when he was using like that huge
- 18:41size advantage.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: Um,
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: but you know,
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: now,
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 18:46you get a little older and a little slower and you don't punch
- 18:51quite as hard.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: And you got hit a lot in your career.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: So your body didn't work the same.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: And you know, and you're, and you're not,
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: You're not 15 pounds bigger than everybody anymore.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: So it's, you know, you're not going to have the separation.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: So the fights are going to be close and you're going to win some.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: You're going to lose some.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I, yeah, I, yeah, I don't know.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: A couple, I'm going to throw a couple of random ones at you.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: Luis Crocker versus Patty Donovan.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: Patty Donovan's my guy.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: He's a really good welterweight in my opinion.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: He trains with Andy Lee.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Are you familiar with any of these fighters?
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: And do you have a thought?
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: I am not.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Okay, that will be determined.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: I wish I could, like, you know, like, pretend.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: But, yeah, I don't even.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Paddy's good.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: I'm telling you,
- 19:44I think he has the ability to be one of those guys that goes to
- 19:47that world level.
- 19:48You know how most of the British guys,
- 19:49they hit a certain level and they can't.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: I think Paddy's got that Carl Frampton gear.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: Is it English or Irish?
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: Irish.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 19:59And what makes it quite fun is Crocker's from Northern Ireland
- 20:04and Patty Donovan's
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: from Ireland.
- 20:07So you throw it on the zone,
- 20:08it's probably going to have a crazy atmosphere.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: Where's it going to be?
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: It's going to be in Northern Ireland, I believe.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: In Belfast?
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: Let me look it up right now.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: The worst thing I can do is be crazy.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's going to be a big fight.
- 20:22Like,
- 20:23I wouldn't be shocked if this fight looks bigger than Gervonta
- 20:27versus Garcia.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: Is Patty, you said Donovan, is he a traveler?
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: I don't know, but this is at the SSE arena in Belfast, Ireland.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: And Crocker is from Belfast.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: And Patty is from, I want to say Limerick Island.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Limerick, Ireland.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: The real deal knocked out Louis Ritson in his last fight.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: He is awesome.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: So it's two undefeated Irish fighters going at each other.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Oh, he's the guy who knocked out Louis Ritson?
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: I saw that.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: I did see that.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that guy is pretty good.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: He knocked out Louis Ritson.
- 21:10Yeah,
- 21:11the thing was I had never seen Ritson,
- 21:13and I remember he was always kind of like –
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: You know, I'd always read about him in the boxing scene and stuff.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: He's kind of like a fringe contender or whatever.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: You know, like, okay, I want to see who this guy is.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: And I remember, like, just seeing, okay, Ritson's going to fight.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: He's going to fight this guy, Patty Donovan.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: He gets starched.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: What do you think about Sabriel Matisse coming back?
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: I'm excited.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: I don't know who he's fighting.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: He's fighting somebody from Mexico.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Gabriel Valenzuela, he lost to Montana Love on the Civil Undercard.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: But I believe he's on a four-fight win streak since.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: One of the wins is Steve Spark, I believe.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: So, incredible.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Like...
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Like, I personally like Matias.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: I was, like, you know, bummed he got beat by the Australian guy.
- 22:11It didn't look like he had no plan B.
- 22:18So,
- 22:20you know,
- 22:21I'm interested to see him.
- 22:22I hope he wins because,
- 22:24like,
- 22:25then there'll be the mandatory for Hitchinson,
- 22:30right?
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he'll be the manager for Richards and Hitchens.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, Hitchens.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: And so,
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: like,
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: I'd be really interested in,
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: like,
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: I think that's a tough fight for Hitchens,
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: like,
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: Matthias,
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: you know?
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you got to outbox a guy that's going to come forward all night.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: One, you got to outbox him, but you got to be busy.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: See, that's the thing with Matias.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: You can't just,
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: like,
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: think that you're going to,
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: like,
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: kind of jab and throw one,
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: two,
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: and then move and one,
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: two,
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: and move.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: Like,
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: you've got to,
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: like,
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: throw,
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: like,
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: sets of three,
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: four,
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: five punches at times,
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: get him,
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: to back up a few steps and then get out of there.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: And that's kind of what Paro did.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: Like,
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: Paro kind of showed,
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: like,
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: he said,
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: man,
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: I'm not,
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: like,
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: I'm not intimidated by you,
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: all right?
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: And I, you know, I think that's a tough fight for Hitchens.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: I would like, yeah, I want to see that.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: I want to see the Teofimo fight.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: I want to see Matisse for Teofimo.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: Well,
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: I kind of would like to see like,
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: yes,
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: but I would also like to see,
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: I want to see Hitchens and Teofimo.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: And I like, I would like that to be at Barkley Center.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: Just like, that'd be huge.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: That would be a big one.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: Final one,
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: Rocky Hernandez,
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: the 130-pounder,
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: taking on Rene Telliz-Garon,
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: who's now best known for dropping Floyd Schofield,
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: who is best known for not fighting this week.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: I like Rocky.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: That other guy is just okay.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: He's just a come forward puncher,
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: but Rocky is also not the most durable or most variety in his things.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: I think it's just a fun TV fight.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: Guys are going to be there for each other.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: They're not going to miss much.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: It's good.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: The type of fight that could turn into a fight of the year.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's good.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: And like, you know, I don't know.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, they have decent crack, but not like...
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: You know, it's not like he's got pretty good crack if he catches flush.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: It's crack, but it's not like sledgehammer.
- 24:50If I,
- 24:50you know,
- 24:51hit you with the grazing punch,
- 24:52it's still going to hurt you.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: I think I think Rocky's got that, to be honest.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: I think it flows,
- 24:58but I think early he's got a lot of first round knockouts and
- 25:01guys with first round
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: knockouts hit pretty hard is my theory.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: I think that the,
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: like those real,
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: real punchers,
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: those better beef guys,
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: like they catch guys in the first round and they go,
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: ah,
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: uh,
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: um,
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: like what's it called there?
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Did my computer freeze?
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: But, um, yeah, it's like that.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: But, um, yeah, that's our, that's our preview pod.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: Uh,
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: Eddie,
- 25:31what do you want the people to know about you besides
- 25:33everything that they already know?
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: Ah,

- 26:06that my wife and I,
- 26:07we,
- 26:07we,
- 26:08you know,
- 26:08kind of have the same passion for boxing.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: Well,
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: that's wonderful,
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: man,
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: because I,
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: I found a great girlfriend too,
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: that maybe one day gets to be my wife.
- 26:17And I find myself all the time saying I love boxing,
- 26:21but also love my girlfriend.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: And that has to segue in.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: Well, hopefully she loves boxing.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: She doesn't fully love boxing, but she's down to watch it.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: And she's got strong opinions.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: She likes the real fighters.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: That's a statement, she says.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: So she likes the Usyks, the Inoways, the Crawfords.
- 26:43um she she heard the aaron navarro some of aaron navarro's
- 26:47saying so now she's
