- 0:00SPEAKER_01: I had a laugh at a story that Tiffany told me on Sunday.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: She was on her way back from Rochester.
- 0:05SPEAKER_01: Uh and um excuse me.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: And uh she had stopped at uh as as any good traveler would, you stop at an out-of-town home goods.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Oh yes.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Anytime I go any I don't care if it's Buffalo, Cleveland, I'm like, what do they got?
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Ithaca, even.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Ithaca, I'm like, I gotta see what they got.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, you have to.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: I mean, even though the it's probably gonna be similar, you might find a little, you might find a hidden treasure.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: That or the clearance aisles different.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: They might like something that you, you know, you'd never saw before.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you never know.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: But yes.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: So this mom and this teenage uh son, I guess, are in in home goods.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: And uh the mother goes, Look, look at these little Harry Potter things.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: You hear the son go, oh mom, you and this Harry Potter crap.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: There's your generational reminder.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: You know what's so funny too?
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: When my mom used to take me to Home Goods and TJ Maxx and all that when I was a kid, I didn't love it.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh gosh.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: But now we have this whole generation that's obsessed with Home Goods and TJ Maxx.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: And it's because our parents took us when we were so young.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: And now I think I think it's totally different than when I was a kid.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: I don't think it was uh the amazingness that it was when I was a kid.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: I feel like as a kid, pots and pants.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Pots and pants, rugs.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah who cares about that when I'm 13 years old.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: I'm like, no, I want to be hanging out with my friends.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: And now here I am.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Oh my God.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: I just need to spend thirty I I told Zach, because he goes, you know, you know what's coming up is it's college football season.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: I said, good.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Watch all the college football all day long.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: I'll be at home goods.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Invite all of your friends over, drink all the beer, eat all of the pizza.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: I don't care.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: I want to go to Home Goods with Danielle, and that's all I want to do.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: I want to spend hours and hours sniffing candles.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Because I took him to uh Home Goods run just briefly the other day.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: It was painful.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: It I was like, Was he not finding any joy?
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Or was he pots and pans and rugs?
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: He just looked a little bored.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Uh and I could tell.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Well, I get accused of this too.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: But then I find the snack aisle and I'm like, what the hell is this?
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I'm perplexed.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: This is this is his gripe.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: We go to the snack aisle and he goes, I thought that this was supposed to be cheap.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: This isn't cheap.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I'm sorry.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Nobody ever said cheap.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: I've never gone into homeboard.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, I've never thought that.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Well, they're all the snacks I've never heard of.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Even though I should have heard of them.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: I'm like, why are the barbecue chips now the parpee barbly chips, you know, they're like what?
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: The kettliest of the kettles.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: The kettliest of the kettles.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: And and then Right next to that Harry Potter crap.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: I thought it was the best line.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: I know, I know that when I see other men in that store and they look bored, I go, I'm never gonna do that.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: It was a really quick run and it'll never happen again.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, it had to have been a quick run.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: You had to transform it into a quick run.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: I can't remember what we're gonna do.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: You could have spent more time.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Well, absolutely.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: We I can't remember.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: That's a bad sign.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: I can't remember what we're getting.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: I do remember now.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: We were getting Junior a new dog bed.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: So it was a quick thing, and he goes, I thought we were here just for a dog bed.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Please.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Do you know why they put that in the middle of the store?
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: I gotta go all the way around to get back to it.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Yes, exactly.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: That's why it's there.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: That was the first and the last time he will ever come to a TJ Maxx Home Goods run.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Now that we're on to the HomeGoods thing, uh, oh, by the way, they're redoing our TJ Maxx here.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, really?
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: I was just there.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Tiffany just told me that.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: She just she just ran there yesterday.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: She goes, I think they're redoing the whole inside.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Like they're re-redoing.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Well, either way, you can get there.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: With when once college football starts, you'll have all the time in the world.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: It's already started.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: I'll be there Saturday.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: Back to Home Goods for a minute.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: I hadn't really intended for this to become this, but the last time I was with Tiffany at Home Goods, was our Home Goods here?
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Um, when did Sunday, let's say one o'clock in the afternoon, when did it become a nursing home slumber party?
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Every single chair in Home Goods.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, this is after you got through the Harry Potter crap.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Every single chair was occupied by a geriatric and they were all sitting there.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: Because you already took your mom or dad to church that morning or a Bob Evans break.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Lord tired him out.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Or yep.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Or a Bob Evans breakfast.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: And then you said, Well, I just need to run into Home Goods real quick.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Is this what it was?
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Because this looked like couples, not couples.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, older, older, like, you know, um two older ladies.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Think of yourself in 10 years.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: And you and Danielle, you're like, well, I'm winded from walking through Home Goods.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna sit in the display chairs for the next half hour.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: I'm not kidding.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Every one of them had somebody in them.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And also, because I'm old, I've been up since four o'clock in the morning.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's true.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Now it's about nap time.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Am I right?
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: If they had those mattresses and home goods, I'd be laying flat out.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: She'd be out.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: I've not even.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: You would be like, is that a mannequin?
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: No, that's Allie.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: This is where we're gonna be.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Just needed a breather.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: It has become literally the pain, most painstaking place for a man.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Uh most men, not all, but most.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: You know the ones I'm talking about that can take it.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: Most of them are working there.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: Ah, Seven.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Um, but at any rate.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: It's my favorite.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: And uh uh it's either that or it's the geriatric rest stop.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: That's it! Home goods, the geriatric rest stop.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Only on Sundays.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Put it on the billboard.
