Hello everyone, I want to share a simple thought with you today,

one that I think speaks deeply to the seasons of life we all go
1:26
through. Sometimes we can get so used to
1:29
the way things are that we start believing this is just how
1:33
things will always be. Maybe life has felt heavy for a
1:37
while. Maybe your faith feels dry.

Maybe a situation in your family or your church or your own heart
1:44
has been the same for so long that you've stopped expecting
1:47
anything to change. You're still moving forward.

You're still doing what needs to be done.

But deep down, maybe hope has gotten a little quieter than it
1:57
used to be. And I think that happens more

easily than we realize. We adjust to disappointment.

We get used to waiting. We learn to live with things
2:08
that were never meant to define us.

And over time, what's familiar can start to feel final.

But God has such a loving way of speaking into those places.

In Isaiah 43, God is speaking to His people, people who were
2:25
weary, distracted, and spiritually stuck.

They had made mistakes. They had wandered.

Their hearts were not always turned toward Him.

And yet this is what God says. Behold, I am doing a new thing

now. It springs forth.

Do you not perceive it? I love that God doesn't say
2:50
you've failed too much. He doesn't say you missed your
2:53
chance. He doesn't say this is all there
2:56
is for you. Instead, he says I'm doing
2:59
something new. And that's the very heart of

God. He's a God who brings new life
3:05
into tired places. He makes ways and wilderness
3:08
seasons. He brings rivers into deserts.

He creates hope where people had stopped looking for it.

Maybe that's where you find yourself today.

Maybe you've been in the wilderness for a long time.

Maybe you've been carrying grief or disappointment, unanswered
3:24
prayer or just plain exhaustion. Maybe there's an area of your
3:29
life that feels dry and empty, and you've quietly come to
3:32
believe that nothing much will ever change there.

But what if God is closer than you think?
3:39
What if he is already at work in ways you're not aware of?
3:44
What if this is not the end of the story?

One of my favorite stories about Jesus is in Mark chapter two.

You probably remember the story. A paralyzed man is brought to

Jesus by 4 friends. They're determined to get him
3:57
there. So determined that they lower
3:59
him through the roof just to place him in front of Jesus.

It's such a beautiful picture of faith.

And when the man is finally there, Jesus does something
4:09
unexpected. Before he heals the man
4:11
physically, he forgives his sins.
4:15
At first that can seem surprising.
4:17
But Jesus saw what no one else could see.
4:20
He saw the man's deepest need. He saw beyond the visible
4:24
struggle. He and went straight to the
4:26
heart. That's what Jesus does for us,
4:28
too. He cares about the things we
4:31
bring to him. Our pain, our needs, our
4:33
questions, our weariness. But he also sees deeper.

He sees the places in us that need healing, freedom,
4:42
forgiveness and restoration. He doesn't just patch up the
4:45
surface, He brings new life from the inside out.

That's why as Christians, we believe Jesus is the fulfillment
4:53
of God's promise of something new written about in Isaiah.

In Jesus, hope is not just an idea.

In Jesus, forgiveness is real and and even backed up by
5:05
healing. In Jesus, the past and even the
5:08
present doesn't get the final word, and even the most broken
5:12
places of our lives can be touched by grace.

And maybe that's the invitation for us today to believe that God
5:20
is still doing something new, not just in big, dramatic,
5:24
obvious ways. Sometimes the new thing begins
5:28
quietly. Sometimes it begins with a
5:31
softened heart. Sometimes it begins with fresh
5:34
courage to to pray again. Sometimes it begins with the
5:38
strength to trust God one more day.

Sometimes it begins with the small but holy decision not to
5:45
give up. God's new thing doesn't always
5:48
arrive with noise, but it does come with life.

And I think the question in Isaiah is still such an
5:55
important one for us. Do you not perceive it?

In other words, will we be aware of it?

Can can you make room for it? Can you believe that God might
6:06
still be moving even here? That question feels pretty
6:11
personal. But sometimes we're so focused
6:14
on what has been lost or what hasn't changed or what still
6:18
feels broken, that we miss the quiet signs of God's presence
6:21
right in front of us. But he's there.
6:25
He's still making ways in the wilderness.
6:28
He's still bringing rivers into deserts.
6:30
He's still meeting weary people with mercy.
6:33
And he's still bringing life to places that seem beyond renewal.

So today, wherever this finds you, be encouraged.

Don't give up on what God can do.

Don't assume that the dry place will always be dry.

Don't assume that the hard chapter is the whole story.

Don't assume that because something has been one way for a
6:54
long time, it can never become something new.

God is still God. He is still present, He's still

redeeming, and He is still able to do beautiful things in

unlikely places. So maybe today our prayer is

simply this. Lord, help me see the new thing.

You're doing nothing fancy. There's no need for it.

And I believe God loves to answer that kind of prayer.

Let's pray together. Lord, thank you that you are a

God of new life. Thank you that you meet us in
7:30
weary places and don't leave us there when we feel stuck.

Remind us that you're still working when we feel dry.

Remind us that you still forge rivers in the desert.

When hope feels small, breathe new life into it again.

Help us to see the new thing you're doing in our lives.

Give us eyes to notice your presence and hearts that are

open to your grace in Jesus name.
