- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, Demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam Smith in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Have you ever found yourself in a relationship that is on again,
- 0:44off again, you break up and then you start thinking about that
- 0:48person and then you end up back in a relationship with them?
- 0:52Adam here. And that's the very essence to
- 0:55what this hypnosis session is all about, because I was working
- 0:58with a client that was in one of those in and out type of
- 1:03relationships. And deep down they kind of knew
- 1:06it wasn't right for them. And it has this concept of the
- 1:10straw that breaks the camel's back that enough is enough.
- 1:14And they wanted to make a decision that was final.
- 1:18It had to have finality otherwise there was a risk that
- 1:22they might go back to what they were doing before.
- 1:26This at it's essence has two key components. 1 is the decision.
- 1:33The decision to end that relationship and not just
- 1:37sabotage it so that the other person leave it.
- 1:39They end it on their terms for their reasons.
- 1:42It's way more empowering to do it that way than the
- 1:46relationship just kind of fizzles out or ends because one
- 1:50does something and forces the hand of the other person.
- 1:53So intention is very important there.
- 1:56And then the second. Thing is about.
- 1:58Worthiness and feeling deserving of something better.
- 2:02They kind of knew what they wanted in a relationship, but
- 2:06this particular client has had a habit of being a bit of a Tarzan
- 2:11relationship experience. It in the sense that they would
- 2:15hold onto 1 vine, they'd be in one relationship and swing, they
- 2:19want to make sure that they could grab hold of another vine
- 2:22so that they weren't alone or single.
- 2:25And this client had been doing that ever since they had their
- 2:29first relationship. They never had a period of time
- 2:32where they were on their own. And what that does is it, it
- 2:36does two things. One, it creates A belief system
- 2:39that either you're not valuable or you're not capable of just
- 2:44being a entity that exists in the world unless you're in a
- 2:48relationship. And also, if you feel that you
- 2:50have to be in a relationship, there will be some kind of
- 2:54internal gaslighting where you magically see the qualities in
- 2:59the person that feels perfect simply because they're available
- 3:03and interested, not because they're right.
- 3:06And a lot of people think in terms of gaslighting that it's
- 3:09some someone else does it to you, particularly narcissists.
- 3:13But actually humans are more than capable of deluding
- 3:16themself. You know, there's lots of
- 3:19conditions based on the idea of seeing reality not exactly as it
- 3:24is. You know, psychosis is one of
- 3:27those things. Dysmorphia is another.
- 3:29Humans are more than capable of seeing things different from
- 3:34reality. Therefore, it was really
- 3:36important to this particular client that they felt that they
- 3:39could just be on their own, not need to be in a relationship,
- 3:44but if they were to be in a relationship that they would be
- 3:47very discerning about that relationship.
- 3:49So if you can connect or resonate to any of these themes,
- 3:53this hypnosis session might be quite useful for you.
- 3:57Please bear in mind though that it was created for an individual
- 4:00and therefore therefore some of the references would have been
- 4:04absolutely perfect for the client I was working with and
- 4:07not quite relevant for you. Therefore, ignore any
- 4:11suggestions that aren't quite right, hone into the ones that
- 4:13are, And if you'd like the idea of working with me directly,
- 4:17have a look at some of the links in the description of this
- 4:21episode and you'll see a suitability test, a webinar you
- 4:25can book, a consultation call with me.
- 4:27All of those things are in the description.
- 4:30For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:33won't be distracted or disturbed.
- 4:36Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 5:01you breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and
- 5:07relaxation. And as you exhale, give
- 5:15permission to release or release any tension, any resentment, any
- 5:28frustrations. They're not needed here and now.
- 5:40And as you find the rhythm of your breath, just allow each
- 5:46breath to get slower and longer, breathing in deeper and exhaling
- 6:00for longer than you normally would.
- 6:04Because the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you can feel,
- 6:11and the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you breathe.
- 6:20A wonderful cycle of relaxation followed by release, followed by
- 6:28even more relaxation. And perhaps you notice your
- 6:33eyelids getting heavier, your jaw looser.
- 6:39Just allow those tiny muscles to let go.
- 6:54That's right, deeper and more relaxed and just become aware of
- 7:03the weight of your arms and your legs of your body.
- 7:09Just allow gravity to facilitate depth.
- 7:18Feel yourself fully supported, knowing that you can let go
- 7:25because the surface beneath you holds you completely.
- 7:34And with every outward breath, imagine a pleasant warm
- 7:40heaviness moving through you, through your shoulders, your
- 7:47arms, your hands, spreading down all the way through your body.
- 7:59That's it. Down deeper down all the way to
- 8:02your feet as you allow yourself to feel soft, relaxed, and safe.
- 8:17And I want you to imagine a staircase, staircase or steps
- 8:26leading from a beach house to the beach.
- 8:31And it doesn't have to be a beach house, you know, but it
- 8:37could be. And it doesn't have to be a
- 8:41beach familiar with, it just could be.
- 8:48But allow your imagination to show you whatever feels most
- 8:55useful. And as I countdown from 12:50,
- 9:00you will imagine walking down the steps to the beach, each
- 9:05step down the staircase taking you deeper and deeper.
- 9:12Relaxed 10. Drifting down 9 deeper still and
- 9:23notice your body relax with every step. 8 shoulders loosen
- 9:3076 Halfway down the stairs, now five, that's it.
- 9:37Deeper still 4 and feel the depth within three and then two.
- 9:47And just imagine, there you are on the beach as one becomes 0.
- 9:53And perhaps you could imagine, imagine yourself on a beach, and
- 10:03this beach is close to a sheltered Cove.
- 10:11Perhaps you could imagine warm air, the sound of waves breaking
- 10:17on the shore. You can just imagine walking
- 10:21towards that Cove. It's just a beach in your
- 10:27imagination. So imagine perhaps being
- 10:33barefoot on warm sand near Clearwater, with waves moving in
- 10:42a slow, steady rhythm, almost like the mirror, the rhythm of
- 10:49your breathing. And this Cove, this beach, this
- 10:56sand, this water, this sunshine is entirely yours.
- 11:07And somewhere, somewhere there in the Cove, imagine a
- 11:13comfortable place to sit, and maybe a sofa, a reclining chair,
- 11:23or perhaps something else. And as you sit down, notice
- 11:29something that in this place you feel complete, whole, exactly as
- 11:42you are. Nothing is missing, nothing
- 11:48needs fixing. Just you and the sound of the
- 11:53sea and this deep, deep sense of peace.
- 12:10And as you sit in this peaceful place, allow yourself to notice
- 12:17what you notice. Perhaps you came to this place
- 12:23already knowing because there's a quiet certainty that has been
- 12:29building inside for a long time. And what if today, in this still
- 12:41clear space within your mind, you can finally hear it and feel
- 12:47it without interference? I want you to think of that
- 12:56relationship, and you've been brave enough to look at that
- 13:00relationship honestly to see a cycle for what it is.
- 13:08Connection, hope, real hope. A sense of highs and lows, a
- 13:22Groundhog Day of frustration, of returning to a a place.
- 13:30But each time the bread crumbs get little and smaller and
- 13:36fewer, so it costs you a little more, a little more energy, a
- 13:45little more of yourself. And what if today, something
- 13:56clicks, something settles, something shifts quietly,
- 14:03permanently, not dramatically. No need for anger, but with the
- 14:14kind of calm certainty that comes from finally trusting what
- 14:22deep down you've always known. You can make a decision that
- 14:32feels tentative or temporary. But I want you to look within
- 14:39for a feeling of steadfast resolve.
- 14:45And I want you to feel that sensation, not as an idea.
- 14:51There's a feeling feel that feeling of being steadfast and
- 14:59absolute, resolute. That a decision is a decision
- 15:07that removes any other possibility than the decision.
- 15:15No need to do anything to burn the boats or burn the bridge.
- 15:21The decision is more than enough.
- 15:26A resolve that is steady, that does not waiver, that holds the
- 15:34line. And this isn't a decision made
- 15:43on the fly in a moment of heat. It's a decision made with due
- 15:50diligence. You've thought and thought and
- 15:58your gut, that same gut that has been right so many times, has
- 16:05been telling you this for a long time.
- 16:10So you don't just listen to it and you don't just do it that
- 16:17all of it feels aligned, that you're doing what needs to be
- 16:22done because it feels right. And when you do it, you harness
- 16:29that steadfast resolve irrespective of what you feel
- 16:36afterwards. Steadfast resolve means then you
- 16:43stick to your guns. You stick to your decision.
- 16:52Decisions aren't always easy, but the right decisions are
- 16:58necessary. And I want you to notice that
- 17:03you're not blowing anything up and you're not burning anything
- 17:07down. You are simply choosing
- 17:11yourself. You're saying that your
- 17:17happiness matters, your future matters, and you can trust what
- 17:24you know deep inside and feel that ideas settle.
- 17:33Maybe notice a word or a sensation that represents this
- 17:37resolved, quiet certainty. Maybe a singular word like done
- 17:48clear mine. Now if a word or a sensation or
- 17:59a feeling comes up, embrace it. Let that anger itself in you now
- 18:11feel like this decision is as solid as a rock.
- 18:21But let's explore something important.
- 18:28In the past, it wasn't just that you had hope.
- 18:34Sometimes you felt sorry, sympathy.
- 18:40And I want you to embrace that deeply compassionate part within
- 18:48as warmth and care. A core to who you are.
- 18:55Real strengths, a wonderful quality.
- 18:59And perhaps you think you're needed, but I want you to
- 19:11release yourself. Release yourself from anything,
- 19:19anything that doesn't serve you. To be a martyr is to sacrifice
- 19:28yourself for the benefit of something or someone else.
- 19:39Staying in any relationship out of pity is not the same as love.
- 19:48It's not kind, not to you and not to them.
- 19:55Because when you stay for pity, it's a pretense, a shadow of
- 20:05something real, a performance of a relationship.
- 20:13When it's real love and you're choosing to be somewhere because
- 20:19you want to be somewhere, that's not duty, that's not pity,
- 20:26that's not responsibility or obligation.
- 20:31That is real love. That comes from real freedom.
- 20:40And I want you to imagine. Imagine the moment you say the
- 20:45words, you do what needs to be done.
- 20:53Not from a place of resentment and frustration, but from a
- 20:57genuine place of wishing them well.
- 21:03You can wish yourself well. You can wish them well and still
- 21:08walk away. Because compassion and kindness
- 21:17sometimes is setting someone else free and setting yourself
- 21:24free. Because love starts with self
- 21:29love and compassion starts with self compassion.
- 21:37What if this is the chapter of your life where you fill your
- 21:43cup, you put yourself first, and all of those moments of in a
- 21:54dialogue, self delusion, internal gas lighting.
- 22:03You've tried that. You can trust your gut.
- 22:07You can't always trust those words you tell yourself.
- 22:14And the voice that says maybe it isn't that bad, maybe they'll
- 22:22change, maybe this time will be different.
- 22:27Is fear wearing the costume of fairness?
- 22:32It's a habit of hope and both of those things are understandable,
- 22:39but neither are truth. What's true for you, and has
- 22:46been true recently, is that you are capable of self love and you
- 22:53are capable of enjoying your own company.
- 22:59So from this point forward, you can trust your gut, and when
- 23:05that familiar voice tries to soften the edges of what you
- 23:09know, you can return to this place of doing what's best for
- 23:16you while still being caring and compassionate for others.
- 23:30I want you to harness a sense of pride for yourself as a person
- 23:38who has rebuilt themselves many times over the resilience to
- 23:47weather many storms. So now as this chapter closes, a
- 23:56new one opens and you approach it with the most valuable thing
- 24:03a person can bring to a relationship, the idea that you
- 24:10don't need one. When people feel that they have
- 24:17to be in a relationship, swinging from 1 vine to another
- 24:23and needing to grab the next one, it forces one of two
- 24:30things. A rush decision or that internal
- 24:36gas lighting of convincing yourself that that person is
- 24:42exactly the right person you need and you have experience now
- 24:48to know that's not true. You are not rushing to grab the
- 24:56next fine. In fact, you're not swinging
- 25:02high up in the air. Your feet are on the ground.
- 25:07Your house is yours. You have time.
- 25:09And when someone comes along who is genuinely worth your
- 25:15extraordinary capacity to love, they will earn it slowly,
- 25:23consistently, through what they do, not what they say.
- 25:33Words. Words can just be words.
- 25:39Promises can be empty, but actions become evidence.
- 25:49And I want you to think of a property maybe you considered
- 25:55buying in the past, but if you had simply rushed in and bought
- 26:01it, it would have been a headache, a bad decision.
- 26:08But maybe you were more thorough.
- 26:11You did your due diligence, you did your inspections.
- 26:18And what you first thought was amazing when you looked at it
- 26:22deeper wasn't desirable at all. If that's possible in a
- 26:30property, it's possible in a person.
- 26:34All the glitters is not gold. And what if you use this time to
- 26:42embrace being picky, Discerning holding yourself to a higher
- 26:49standard, that if it doesn't feel like it would be amazing,
- 26:56then you don't want it? What if you allow conversations
- 27:05to be conversations, dates to be dates?
- 27:10Taking the time to get to know someone, to allow them to reveal
- 27:15who they really are to you. And then, and only then, if it
- 27:24feels right and the gut. Then you can choose from a place
- 27:34of empowered discernment. You can choose that relationship
- 27:44without needing to be in a relationship.
- 27:52So imagine walking from the Cove back towards the beach house
- 28:00with this steadfast resolve that is quiet, firm and completely
- 28:03yours. The understanding that
- 28:07compassion begins with yourself, a clear trust right there deep
- 28:15in your gut. And the knowledge, the certainty
- 28:21that your best chapter is not behind you, it is in your
- 28:27future. You were the author and the
- 28:31character. Just imagine climbing up those
- 28:39steps back into the beach house, perhaps seeing yourself there in
- 28:46a dreamlike sleep. And very soon I will count from
- 28:521:00 to 10:00 and you will imagine awakening, awakening in
- 29:01the physical realm with a sense of clarity, resolve, and huge
- 29:08amounts of optimism. So take a deep breath in through
- 29:12the nose and out through the nose.
- 29:17Just wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 29:21Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 29:26from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 29:32Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 29:41Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
- 29:45Wide awake. Wide awake.
