• 0:39
it, football. And we're not just exploring any
• 0:42
team, we're diving into the story of one of the most famous
• 0:46
football clubs in the world, Liverpool FC.
• 0:49
Whether you already love soccer or you're just getting started,
• 0:52
you're about to discover some amazing things about this
• 0:54
legendary team. Let's off our journey by
• 0:57
imagining a city full of music, laughter and excitement.
• 1:02
A city called Liverpool in England.
• 1:04
This is where our story begins. Liverpool isn't just famous for
• 1:08
  The Beatles, those rock'n'roll legends.
• 1:10
It's also the proud home of Liverpool Football Club, or
• 1:14
Liverpool FC for short. So what exactly is a football
• 1:18
club? Imagine your school soccer team,
• 1:21
but much, much bigger. A football club is a group of
• 1:24
players, coaches and fans who all come together to play
• 1:27
soccer, cheer each other on, and compete in big tournaments.
• 1:31
Liverpool FC is one of the oldest and most successful
• 1:35
football clubs in England, and their fans are known for being
• 1:38
super passionate. Liverpool FC was founded way
• 1:41
back in 1892. That's over 130 years ago.
• 1:45
Back then, people didn't have smartphones or video games, but
• 1:49
they loved watching and playing football just as much as people
• 1:52
do today. Liverpool FC started out as a
• 1:55
small team, but over the years they grew into something truly
• 1:59
special. Now, every team needs a home,
• 2:02
right? Liverpool FC's home is a stadium
• 2:05
called Anfield. Picture a huge field surrounded
• 2:08
by stands where thousands of people can sit and cheer.
• 2:12
Anfield is like a giant playground for soccer stars, and
• 2:15
it's famous for its electric atmosphere.
• 2:18
Fans sing, chant and wave their red scarves, making every match
• 2:22
feel like a big, exciting party. Speaking of red, let's talk
• 2:27
about Liverpool's team colors. Just like superheroes have their
• 2:30
own costumes, Liverpool FC's players wear bright red shirts,
• 2:34
shorts, and socks. That's why their nickname is the
• 2:38
Reds. When you see a sea of red in the
• 2:40
stadium, you know Liverpool is playing.
• 2:43
But what makes Liverpool FC so special?
• 2:46
One big reason is their motto, You'll never walk alone.
• 2:50
  This isn't just a slogan, it's a promise.
• 2:53
Imagine you're climbing a really tall playground slide and your
• 2:56
friends are right behind you, cheering you on.
• 2:59
That's what You'll Never Walk Alone means.
• 3:02
No matter what happens, you'll always have someone by your
• 3:05
side. Liverpool fans sing a song
• 3:07
called You'll Never Walk Alone before every home game, and it's
• 3:11
so powerful that even people who don't support Liverpool get
• 3:15
goosebumps listening to it. Let's do a quick Did you know
• 3:18
break? Did you know that Liverpool's
• 3:20
anthem You'll Never Walk Alone is actually from a musical
• 3:24
called Carousel? It became famous with Liverpool
• 3:27
fans in the 1960s and has been their special song ever since.
• 3:32
Now let's meet some of the club's legendary players.
• 3:36
Over the years, Liverpool FC has had some amazing stars.
• 3:40
There's Steven Gerrard, who was like the team superhero captain
• 3:44
for many years. He could score incredible goals
• 3:47
and lead his teammates like a true leader.
• 3:50
Then there's Kenny Dalglish, a player and manager who is like
• 3:54
Liverpool royalty. In more recent times, players
• 3:57
like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Main and Virgil Van Dyke have dazzled
• 4:01
fans with their skills. Imagine soccer players who can
• 4:05
run super fast, dodge defenders with fancy footwork and score
• 4:08
goals that make the crowd go wild.
• 4:11
That's what these players do. But soccer isn't just about
• 4:14
scoring goals, it's also about teamwork.
• 4:17
Liverpool is famous for playing as a team, passing the ball and
• 4:21
helping each other out. It's like building a big Lego
• 4:24
castle together. You need everyone's help to make
• 4:27
it awesome. Coaches are like the builders
• 4:29
guides, helping players practice, learn new tricks and
• 4:33
stay strong. Liverpool FC has won lots of
• 4:36
trophies. Trophies are like shiny medals
• 4:39
you get for winning big competitions.
• 4:41
One of the most important trophies in English football is
• 4:44
the Premier League trophy. The Premier League is like the
• 4:47
top level of soccer in England, where the best teams play
• 4:50
against each other. Liverpool has won the English
• 4:53
league 19 times. That's a lot of gold medals.
• 4:57
But that's not all. Liverpool also competes in
• 5:00
European tournaments, where teams from all over Europe play
• 5:04
against each other. The most famous of these is the
• 5:07
UEFA Champions League. It's like a tournament where
• 5:10
only the best of the best get to play.
• 5:12
Liverpool has won the Champions League 6 times.
• 5:15
That's more than almost any other English team.
• 5:18
One of the most famous matches was in 2005 when Liverpool made
• 5:23
a huge comeback to win the final.
• 5:25
It's called the Miracle of Istanbul and fans still talk
• 5:29
about it today. Here's another fun Did you know
• 5:32
moment. Did you know that Liverpool FC's
• 5:34
mascot is a big, friendly red bird called Mighty Red?
• 5:38
He's based on the Liver Bird, a mythical creature that is a
• 5:41
symbol of the city of Liverpool. Mighty Red loves to dance, make
• 5:45
kids laugh, and cheer for the team.
• 5:48
Liverpool's fans are known as Coppets, named after a part of
• 5:51
Anfield called the Cop. The Cop is a special stand where
• 5:55
some of the loudest and most enthusiastic fans sit.
• 5:58
When the Cop sings and cheers, you can hear them all over the
• 6:02
city. It's like having a giant group
• 6:04
of friends who all love the same thing, cheering for Liverpool.
• 6:08
Let's imagine you're walking through the city of Liverpool on
• 6:11
a game day. Everywhere you look you see
• 6:14
people in red shirts waving flags and singing songs.
• 6:18
The whole city feels excited, like it's someone's birthday or
• 6:21
a big celebration. That's the magic of Liverpool
• 6:25
FC. It brings people together, young
• 6:28
and old, from all over the world.
• 6:30
Liverpool FC isn't just about playing soccer, though.
• 6:33
The club also does a lot of good things in the community.
• 6:37
They help kids learn to play soccer, support local charities
• 6:40
and encourage everyone to stay active and healthy.
• 6:43
They believe that being a champion isn't just about
• 6:46
winning games, it's also about helping others and being kind.
• 6:50
Let's talk a little bit about how a soccer match works, just
• 6:53
in case you're new to the sport. Each team has 11 players on the
• 6:56
field, including one goalkeeper who tries to stop the ball from
• 7:00
going into the goal. The other players work together
• 7:02
to move the ball, pass it and try to score by getting the ball
• 7:07
into the other team's net. Matches are usually 90 minutes
• 7:10
long, split into two halves. The team with the most goals at
• 7:14
the end wins. Liverpool's playing style is
• 7:17
really exciting. They're known for attacking
• 7:19
quickly, running down the field and surprising their opponents.
• 7:23
It's a bit like a game of tag where you have to be fast, smart
• 7:27
and always ready to change direction.
• 7:30
Now let's have a quick did you know quiz.
• 7:33
How many times has Liverpool FC won the Champions League?
• 7:37
If you said six, you're absolutely right.
• 7:39
And do you remember the name of their stadium?
• 7:42
That's right, Anfield. Liverpool FC's current manager
• 7:46
is Jurgen Klopp. He's like the team's coach and
• 7:49
cheerleader all rolled into one. Klopp is famous for his big
• 7:53
smile, his hugs and his positive attitude.
• 7:56
He encourages his players to work hard, support each other
• 7:59
  and always believe in themselves.
• 8:02
He once said we are Liverpool, this means more.
• 8:06
That's because to the fans and players, Liverpool FC is like a
• 8:11
  family. Another cool thing about
• 8:13
Liverpool is their rivalry with another team called Everton.
• 8:16
Both teams are from Liverpool, so when they play each other,
• 8:19
  it's called the Merseyside Derby.
• 8:21
It's a friendly rivalry, a bit like two brothers competing in a
• 8:25
board game. The city gets divided but at the
• 8:28
end of the day, everyone just loves the game.
• 8:31
Let's not forget about the fans who follow Liverpool from all
• 8:34
around the world. No matter where you go, you'll
• 8:37
find people wearing Liverpool shirts, singing their songs and
• 8:41
cheering for their team. It's like being part of a giant
• 8:44
worldwide club where everyone shares the same passion.
• 8:48
Before we wrap up, here are a few more fun facts.
• 8:51
Did you know that Liverpool FC has played over 5000 official
• 8:55
matches? Or that their record home win
• 8:57
was 11 to 0? That's a lot of goals, and did
• 9:01
you know that their famous red kit wasn't always red?
• 9:04
At first they wore blue and white, but switched to red in
• 9:08
1896 to look more fierce and united.
• 9:11
So let's do a quick recap of everything we've learned today.

nickname The Reds. Their motto is you'll never walk
