- 0:00Speaker 1: Elsewhere in the SEC, Florida has entered the chat when
- 0:05Speaker 1: it comes to the top 10. Florida shellacked Ole Miss
- 0:09Speaker 1: in the game that was Ole Miss' chance after defeating
- 0:13Speaker 1: LSU to kind of get themselves back on the horse,
- 0:17Speaker 1: so to speak, after a big emotional game. And boy
- 0:20Speaker 1: did Florida take care of business in the swamp as
- 0:22Speaker 1: we take a look at Florida's defeat of Ole Miss
- 0:24Speaker 1: by a score of 52-28. This is presented by PrizePix.com. Cole,
- 0:29Speaker 1: you have been a huge proponent of what John Summerall has.
- 0:33Speaker 2: In place in Florida.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I mean, the biggest thing that I took away from this,
- 0:39Speaker 1: what the hell was Billy Napier doing with the bulk
- 0:42Speaker 1: of this roster last year?
- 0:43Speaker 3: Not utilizing it.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Good Lord.
- 0:45Speaker 3: That's it.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Good Lord.
- 0:47Speaker 4: If Billy Napier would have hired Buster Faulkner a year earlier,
- 0:51Speaker 4: he would still be the head coach of Florida right now.
- 0:53Speaker 4: I truly do believe it because of what happened was
- 0:55Speaker 4: Billy did not have an offensive play caller, but he
- 0:58Speaker 4: had all the pieces in play and he did not
- 1:00Speaker 4: know how to properly utilize them. Enter a new head coach,
- 1:04Speaker 4: enter that coach getting a right offensive mind to call
- 1:06Speaker 4: the shots, not micromanaging that side of the football. Watches
- 1:10Speaker 4: what happens as Florida is a top five offense in
- 1:12Speaker 4: the country. Florida is averaging over 400 yards a game.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Their quarterback play has been phenomenal. They feature the best
- 1:20Speaker 4: running back in the sport. And at this point, if
- 1:22Speaker 4: you're holding out hope for anybody else to kind of
- 1:24Speaker 4: show their true colors. I'm sadly mistaken. You will be
- 1:27Speaker 4: holding your breath until you pass on out. They have
- 1:30Speaker 4: three wide receivers who did not do anything yesterday, but
- 1:33Speaker 4: still have shown you in the past they can go
- 1:35Speaker 4: toe-to-toe with anyone in the SEC and all be legit
- 1:38Speaker 4: number ones. The offensive line is ahead of advertised. And
- 1:41Speaker 4: even though the secondary is still a little bit iffy
- 1:45Speaker 4: because of you gave a 28 points and you still
- 1:48Speaker 4: allowed Ole Miss to get over 400 yards of offense.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Defensive line's good. Defensive line is ahead of schedule.
- 1:54Speaker 4: So everything is there right now for Florida to be
- 1:57Speaker 4: in that conversation of, hey, this isn't just a fun story.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Maybe they'll play the spoiler for Texas or Ole Miss
- 2:03Speaker 4: or somebody else to go to the college football playoff.
- 2:05Speaker 3: No, no, it's time to take them seriously.
- 2:08Speaker 4: As a team that can go on a run not
- 2:09Speaker 4: only to the playoff, but to potentially a national title.
- 2:13Speaker 4: I don't think that's far-fetched. This team right now, Tom,
- 2:17Speaker 4: if you realize that right now, They're able to run
- 2:20Speaker 4: it so efficiently that Jaden Baugh can take a breather
- 2:24Speaker 4: after touching the football 29 times and you can give
- 2:27Speaker 4: it to Duke Clark and he'll just say, cool, I'll
- 2:29Speaker 4: go off for 100. I'll find the end zone myself.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Dallas Wilson can find the end zone on a jet sweep.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Aaron Filo with his mobility can step on up and
- 2:37Speaker 4: get some first downs. Hey, by the way, don't forget
- 2:39Speaker 4: about me. I'm also Jaden Baugh. And when you give
- 2:42Speaker 4: me the football, I'm going to make things happen. Explosive runs,
- 2:46Speaker 4: yards after contact, dragging Ole Miss defenders with me. In
- 2:50Speaker 4: pure human highlight home run speed, there's no reason to
- 2:54Speaker 4: doubt this offense can't do everything.
- 2:55Speaker 3: That it has.
- 2:56Speaker 4: They were able to score every single way yesterday. Punt team,
- 3:01Speaker 4: special teams was phenomenal, which I don't think that we
- 3:03Speaker 4: spent enough time talking about. The way that they were
- 3:05Speaker 4: able to get drives to start at the 35 or
- 3:08Speaker 4: the 45 or at midfield because of the positional set
- 3:10Speaker 4: that they had on kickoffs.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Exceptional.
- 3:14Speaker 4: And by the way, you want to talk about the
- 3:16Speaker 4: reason why you won this football game? Because of what
- 3:19Speaker 4: did we talk about going into this matchup? Hey, Trinidad
- 3:21Speaker 4: Chambliss is going to get his. Trinidad Chambliss got his.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Trinidad Chambliss had two touchdown runs. Trinidad Chambliss threw another touchdown.
- 3:28Speaker 4: He had over 350 yards of offense. Ole Miss finished
- 3:32Speaker 4: with 426 yards of offense. So everyone else that wasn't
- 3:36Speaker 4: wearing the number six combined for less than 100 yards.
- 3:40Speaker 4: And in the first half, it was humbling. You made
- 3:43Speaker 4: them a one-dimensional crew. You basically said, hey, we're going
- 3:48Speaker 4: to be a team that literally says you have to
- 3:52Speaker 4: beat us with six.
- 3:53Speaker 3: And you made them mortal. That's a legit thing that
- 3:55Speaker 3: you have to talk about at these points.
- 3:59Speaker 1: You know what? I enjoyed watching this game because it
- 4:02Speaker 1: reminded me of, you know, I saw a lot of
- 4:04Speaker 1: people saying, oh, this reminded me of SEC football from
- 4:06Speaker 1: back in the 2000s. To me, it was just this
- 4:10Speaker 1: is the way the game is meant to be played physically,
- 4:12Speaker 1: a physically dominant football game.
- 4:16Speaker 2: This was an.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Offensive line that imposed its will on Ole Miss physically.
- 4:23Speaker 1: And Ole Miss, I was impressed by the way that
- 4:25Speaker 1: their defensive line played against LSU, but I think we've
- 4:27Speaker 1: seen enough of what LSU's offensive line is. I was like, okay,
- 4:30Speaker 1: there's some susceptibility there, especially in the interior of that
- 4:33Speaker 1: defensive line. And you can point towards the emotional letdown
- 4:36Speaker 1: to a degree, but this was an offensive line that
- 4:39Speaker 1: just did not let up. When you put 300 yards
- 4:43Speaker 1: rushing up on the board, 5.7 yards per carry, six
- 4:47Speaker 1: rushing touchdowns, you make life super easy. for aaron filo
- 4:52Speaker 1: who also contributed to the russian game but when your
- 4:54Speaker 1: quarterback only has to go 16 and 23 he doesn't
- 4:57Speaker 1: even break 200 yards passing filo does what he has
- 5:00Speaker 1: to do he plays within the offense he has the
- 5:03Speaker 1: weapons at wide receiver that he can play with and
- 5:05Speaker 1: we'll see what singleton's season looks like going forward that's
- 5:09Speaker 1: obviously going to be a challenge but they have depth
- 5:11Speaker 1: at the wide receiver position and then defensively i understand
- 5:15Speaker 1: the points that you just said about letting Trinidad get
- 5:17Speaker 1: his numbers, so to speak, kind of a Steph Curry
- 5:20Speaker 1: type of approach of like, hey, he's going to do
- 5:22Speaker 1: his thing, but we're going to stop everything else. It
- 5:25Speaker 1: was beyond impressive. And they put Ole Miss in situations
- 5:29Speaker 1: as the game wore on. You know, you felt it
- 5:32Speaker 1: kind of starting to turn into a track meet there
- 5:34Speaker 1: in the second half. But they put Ole Miss in
- 5:37Speaker 1: situations where the game was once again on Trinidad-Chambers. And
- 5:41Speaker 1: I think that's a wise game plan, ultimately, for what
- 5:44Speaker 1: Florida was able to put together in that I said
- 5:46Speaker 1: it before.
- 5:47Speaker 2: You can't expect.
- 5:49Speaker 1: One guy to do everything for you every single week.
- 5:53Speaker 2: There can't be a Superman. It has to be a
- 5:55Speaker 2: team effort.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Florida was aware of that, and they're like, we're going
- 5:58Speaker 1: to put it all on six, and we're going to
- 6:01Speaker 1: rely on our offense to be more physical and more
- 6:05Speaker 1: dominant when it comes to running the football. I was
- 6:07Speaker 1: very impressed by this. Jaden Ball, you've been singing his
- 6:10Speaker 1: praises since last year. and this was, to some, a
- 6:13Speaker 1: coming-out party, but if you've been watching this team for
- 6:16Speaker 1: this season, Jaden Ball has been outstanding between the tackles.
- 6:20Speaker 1: If anything for Florida to work on in the weeks
- 6:24Speaker 1: to come, what would you highlight?
- 6:26Speaker 5: Just a real quick break from the video to tell you,
- 6:28Speaker 5: go check out the Price Picks app. We tell you
- 6:30Speaker 5: about them all the time, but all new users over
- 6:32Speaker 5: there who play $ 5 get $ 150 in lineups instantly if
- 6:36Speaker 5: they win using code HMA on their first lineup. It's
- 6:40Speaker 5: not just lineups, though. It's team picks as well. You've
- 6:43Speaker 5: got the Heisman odds right here. Those continue to update. Trinidad,
- 6:46Speaker 5: number one. You've got Darian Mensah up there at number two.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Camario Taylor, shout out Mississippi State, number three. You've got
- 6:53Speaker 5: Jeremiah Smith, CJ Cart, Jaden Baugh, all the way up.
- 6:56Speaker 2: To number six.
- 6:57Speaker 5: Arch Manning, Gunnar Stockton, Julian Sayen, Malachi Toney, Will Hammond.
- 7:00Speaker 5: A ton of names here. You can go play team
- 7:03Speaker 5: picks as well. You can take first team to score.
- 7:05Speaker 5: You can take a bunch of different different picks on
- 7:08Speaker 5: the prize picks app. Go check them out. We appreciate
- 7:11Speaker 5: them for their support.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Now back to the clip on the power to the secondary.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Probably I, again, there were, there was a play where
- 7:18Speaker 4: come on and McLean fell for the double move by
- 7:20Speaker 4: deuce Alexander. And thankfully there was a safety there to
- 7:23Speaker 4: kind of catch on up. So they kept him from
- 7:25Speaker 4: going into the end zone.
- 7:26Speaker 3: They eventually scored.
- 7:28Speaker 4: And then you watch this Kermode McClain, and they said
- 7:30Speaker 4: on the broadcast too, really down on himself, but John
- 7:33Speaker 4: Summerall pulled him aside and continued to try to hype
- 7:35Speaker 4: him on up.
- 7:36Speaker 3: I'd say that's something you've got.
- 7:37Speaker 4: To work on, because you will go up against explosive
- 7:40Speaker 4: wide receivers when you take on Texas, when you take
- 7:43Speaker 4: on South Carolina, when you take on.
- 7:47Speaker 5: I.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Know I'm blanking on another team. I'm trying to remember
- 7:51Speaker 3: who it is.
- 7:52Speaker 4: I don't know. It's not Mizzou even to a little
- 7:56Speaker 4: degree with Caden Lee and Donovan O.
- 7:59Speaker 3: So, I mean, like, that's one that you have to
- 8:00Speaker 3: work on. But that's about it. Passers got to Trinidad.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I mean, like, the thing that people aren't looking at
- 8:05Speaker 4: because they're so engulfed with Trinidad still through.
- 8:09Speaker 3: For nearly 300 and he got 340 yards. He had
- 8:10Speaker 3: two turnovers.
- 8:14Speaker 4: And you force them into having two turnovers. You had
- 8:17Speaker 4: the big strip sack and the fumble that led to
- 8:19Speaker 4: the turnover at midfield. And just for a sense of
- 8:22Speaker 4: morality purposes, not because the game was close, but just
- 8:26Speaker 4: to be able to say, we put 35 on you.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Trey Adams driving down the field in the final drive.
- 8:30Speaker 4: You pick him off in the red zone. I mean,
- 8:32Speaker 4: there still is a lot of good. And the offensive
- 8:35Speaker 4: line is playing great. And you have two running backs
- 8:37Speaker 4: that you can trust to go ahead and make plays.
- 8:40Speaker 4: And your quarterback's fitting inside the system. And he's not
- 8:42Speaker 4: doing too much. But he still is lethal at what
- 8:45Speaker 4: he does. The timing is almost on point. And there
- 8:48Speaker 4: were points I think that were left on the board
- 8:50Speaker 4: that maybe if you look back, a quicker throw, a
- 8:53Speaker 4: different cut, a better block, maybe it leads to you
- 8:57Speaker 4: hanging 60 plus. But there's very little that you look
- 9:00Speaker 4: at right now with Florida if this is the version
- 9:02Speaker 4: we continue to see. And it won't be because John
- 9:05Speaker 4: Summerall doesn't settle anywhere. for anything less than perfection. And
- 9:08Speaker 4: you know that because of even in wins over Auburn
- 9:11Speaker 4: and Campbell and Florida Atlantic, the first thing he's doing
- 9:14Speaker 4: is not going and talking about the pros. He's looking
- 9:17Speaker 4: back at the negatives. Why do we have this many penalties?
- 9:20Speaker 4: Why do we have this many false starts? Why is
- 9:22Speaker 4: this a block that we're not getting done? Why is
- 9:25Speaker 4: the secondary not playing up to par? So you know
- 9:27Speaker 4: that he's not going to be okay with what was
- 9:28Speaker 4: on the field yesterday.
- 9:29Speaker 3: There's only another step to grow.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Florida's going to have an opportunity to be a legit
- 9:34Speaker 4: threat in the playoff conversation this year. You realize that
- 9:37Speaker 4: they play Missouri and South Carolina, and then they get
- 9:40Speaker 4: a bye before they have to face off against Georgia.
- 9:45Speaker 4: My bad, they also play Texas. At worst, they will
- 9:49Speaker 4: be 6-1, I think. At best, going into Halloween weekend
- 9:53Speaker 4: in Atlanta, which is basically a home game for Georgia
- 9:57Speaker 4: at this point, they may be 7-0. And if they somehow,
- 10:01Speaker 4: because if I do think of the offensive identity of
- 10:03Speaker 4: what Florida is, can be something that will be a
- 10:06Speaker 4: challenge for Kirby Smart, will be a challenge for Glenn Schumann.
- 10:10Speaker 4: If they beat Florida, I mean, Georgia, looking at their schedule,
- 10:16Speaker 4: that's a playoff team. I don't know if they'll win
- 10:18Speaker 4: the SEC. I don't know if they'll go to Atlanta.
- 10:20Speaker 4: But that team I'm saying is going to the postseason.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Why not?
- 10:24Speaker 4: And the funny thing is that we can't talk about
- 10:26Speaker 4: Florida this way because we've already been burned by Florida
- 10:29Speaker 4: so many times by saying the Swamp is a ruckus,
- 10:32Speaker 4: how close they are to getting the right pieces in play.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Look at all the first-round talents.
- 10:36Speaker 4: But the Dan Mullins of the world and the Jim
- 10:40Speaker 4: McElwain's and the Will Muschamps and the Billy Napiers, we've
- 10:43Speaker 4: all been scoring in the past. But it's okay for
- 10:46Speaker 4: us to talk that way about Indiana. Two years into
- 10:48Speaker 4: their tenure, underneath the right head coach, well, they can
- 10:51Speaker 4: win national titles. Well, it's okay for us to talk
- 10:53Speaker 4: that way about UCLA. Going on the road and getting
- 10:56Speaker 4: a dominant win against a team like Maryland.
- 11:00Speaker 3: And kind of showing, hey, West Coast bias, not a
- 11:03Speaker 3: problem here. But Florida, we have to hold out for it.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Why? Why?
- 11:08Speaker 1: Why?
- 11:12Speaker 4: They have the best play caller in college football. They
- 11:14Speaker 4: have arguably one of the most smartest and young up-and-coming
- 11:16Speaker 4: coaches who understands what his mantra is. They have a
- 11:20Speaker 4: damn good offensive line, a solid, solid wide receiver room,
- 11:24Speaker 4: quarterback that doesn't make mistakes, and a running back that
- 11:27Speaker 4: will carry the load all the way to the Big Apple.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Why not believe in Florida? Why can't Florida be in
- 11:33Speaker 4: that conversation?
- 11:35Speaker 1: Also, the fact that it's not just Jayden Ball having
- 11:37Speaker 1: Duke Clark in there is fantastic.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Like, I think this is This is.
- 11:41Speaker 1: How you construct a roster that is going to be
- 11:44Speaker 1: successful into December and into January. It's something that Georgia
- 11:48Speaker 1: has utilized for years. It is very much in that
- 11:51Speaker 1: same mold. It's something Alabama did for quite some time.
- 11:55Speaker 1: On the flip side of this, I don't immediately write
- 11:58Speaker 1: off Ole Miss when it comes to their possibilities of
- 12:02Speaker 1: making the playoff, the possibilities of making a run for
- 12:04Speaker 1: the national championship. I do put stock in, yes, you
- 12:07Speaker 1: didn't have Kiwan Lacy there, and it was very obvious
- 12:09Speaker 1: in the LSU game that they didn't have a lot
- 12:11Speaker 1: of faith in the running backs behind Kiwan Lacy.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I get that.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I'm also a proponent that the offensive line makes the
- 12:17Speaker 1: running game and not always the tailback. The tailback can
- 12:19Speaker 1: overcome a bad offensive line. I don't think this is
- 12:22Speaker 1: a bad Ole Miss offensive line. I think it's average,
- 12:25Speaker 1: and I think you see Trinidad Chambliss overcoming a lot
- 12:28Speaker 1: of that. But as I was talking about just moments ago,
- 12:30Speaker 1: you and I were talking about this after Ole Miss
- 12:32Speaker 1: and LSU came He's Superman. He's the greatest player in
- 12:35Speaker 1: college football. He's the best quarterback in college football. Immediately
- 12:39Speaker 1: I was like, you can't ask him to do that
- 12:40Speaker 1: every single game where he had 78% of the touches
- 12:45Speaker 1: for the offense. And I understand if you're Ole Miss
- 12:49Speaker 1: and you're in a situation where it's like, hey, we've
- 12:50Speaker 1: got to make a comeback and we've got.
- 12:51Speaker 2: To put things together, of course you're going to lean
- 12:53Speaker 2: on Trinidad Chambliss. I understand that.
- 12:55Speaker 1: You're going to make that attempt every single time. But
- 12:57Speaker 1: it's not going to work every single time. It's not sustainable.
- 13:01Speaker 1: What Florida has offensively, That's sustainable for the rest of
- 13:06Speaker 1: the season. You can't trot Trinidad out there every single
- 13:09Speaker 1: week and say, hey, pull a rabbit out of the hat.
- 13:12Speaker 1: And I think that's ultimately what you were asking him
- 13:14Speaker 1: to do in this game. This defense for Ole Miss
- 13:17Speaker 1: has been an issue throughout the season. All of a sudden,
- 13:20Speaker 1: that Louisville win doesn't.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Look as impressive.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Louisville dropping a game to Wake Forest, but Wake also
- 13:26Speaker 1: pushed Miami a couple of weeks ago.
- 13:27Speaker 2: So there's that complication. I don't know. This is an
- 13:32Speaker 2: odd spot for Ole Miss to be in.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Like we expected the quote unquote emotional letdown after all
- 13:37Speaker 1: the buildup to the LSU game. But I still see
- 13:39Speaker 1: an avenue for Ole Miss to get up off the mat.
- 13:41Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 13:43Speaker 4: If you told me that Ole Miss in two weeks
- 13:44Speaker 4: when they get off of the bye hangs 50 on Vanderbilt.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Wouldn't be shocked.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Oh, not at all.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Not even a little bit.
- 13:50Speaker 4: If you told me that Ole Miss goes down to
- 13:51Speaker 4: the wire with Texas on the road because Trinidad Chambliss
- 13:54Speaker 4: plays like Superman, wouldn't be shocked in the slightest. There
- 13:58Speaker 4: are some things about this team that need to be corrected.
- 14:00Speaker 4: And that taste of defeat. Of being embarrassed after you
- 14:03Speaker 4: get the emotional win a week ago. Because let's be real.
- 14:06Speaker 4: The better team was not the team that was ranked
- 14:09Speaker 4: number four. The better team is the team that now
- 14:10Speaker 4: currently sits at number eight.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Bottom line. That's just it. They outworked you.
- 14:15Speaker 4: They out physically gained you. They played better defensively. They
- 14:17Speaker 4: played better offensively. They were more executed plays. You had
- 14:21Speaker 4: Trinidad Chambers finding Deuce Alexander downfield.
- 14:23Speaker 3: And that was about it. That's what you have to
- 14:25Speaker 3: go off of.
- 14:26Speaker 4: There's a lot of things to clean on up. And
- 14:29Speaker 4: Pete Golding said in his postgame presser, I hope that
- 14:31Speaker 4: this taste of defeat sits with.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Them for a week.
- 14:34Speaker 3: So that way they never want to feel this way again.
- 14:37Speaker 3: And it could be fine.
- 14:38Speaker 4: You again still have, in my opinion, one of the
- 14:40Speaker 4: most dangerous quarterbacks in college football. And credit where credit's
- 14:42Speaker 4: due to a lot of Florida fans showing signs of
- 14:45Speaker 4: respect to what Chambliss did. Because after the game, he
- 14:48Speaker 4: also made sure to stick by and congratulate John Summerall
- 14:52Speaker 4: for the impressive win of how he planned against his
- 14:55Speaker 4: Rebels team.
- 14:56Speaker 3: So credit where credit's due.
- 14:57Speaker 4: There is a class act with him and the ability
- 15:00Speaker 4: to understand that this is a guy that is going
- 15:02Speaker 4: to end up getting his. But you can't always ask
- 15:05Speaker 4: him to get his. And this is why having a
- 15:07Speaker 4: Kiwan Lacey is important. And this is why making sure
- 15:10Speaker 4: that next week you are able to build a better
- 15:11Speaker 4: rapport with guys like Jontae Cook and guys like Darren
- 15:15Speaker 4: Gill and guys like Traylon Ray and Caleb Odom and
- 15:18Speaker 4: Caleb Cunningham. That way, when you need that big time throw,
- 15:22Speaker 4: it's not just the Deuce Alexander show. This is a
- 15:24Speaker 4: week to where you are going hard on that offensive,
- 15:27Speaker 4: I mean, on that defensive front. And telling them we
- 15:30Speaker 4: are closing gaps. We are playing in position. We are
- 15:33Speaker 4: learning fundamental tackles if need be. Because we are not
- 15:36Speaker 4: going to put ourselves in this position again. Because what
- 15:39Speaker 4: we hear now is that Ole Miss gets a win
- 15:42Speaker 4: over Lane Kiffin. Great for them. That's their Super Bowl.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Don't let that be your Super Bowl. Don't let that
- 15:49Speaker 4: be the hangover that continues five weeks later on. And
- 15:52Speaker 4: now we're talking about Trinidad going 7-5 and being an
- 15:55Speaker 4: incredible quarterback for his roster for a team that is
- 15:58Speaker 4: now playing in the Gator Bowl or the Texas Bowl.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Don't waste your squad on the opportunity. I don't think
- 16:04Speaker 4: that they will. I think there's a lot of things
- 16:06Speaker 4: that need to be fixed. But much like we said
- 16:08Speaker 4: about it, I'll meet you in the middle. Much like
- 16:11Speaker 4: how I'm saying about Florida with their secondary. Trinidad's going
- 16:16Speaker 4: to hang 28 on everybody this year. You're going to
- 16:19Speaker 4: accept it. There's things you can correct. Jaden Baugh is
- 16:22Speaker 4: going to get his on everybody this year. So how
- 16:26Speaker 4: do you make sure that nobody else can do that
- 16:27Speaker 4: to you again? It's the one outlier. You have your mulligan.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Make sure that nobody else is getting after you. Make
- 16:34Speaker 4: sure that it's not Cedric Alexander. Make sure that it's
- 16:36Speaker 4: not Hollywood Smothers. Make sure that it's not Fluff Bothwell
- 16:38Speaker 4: at the end of the season.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Do that. Make sure you do that. That's all I
- 16:43Speaker 3: will say.
- 16:45Speaker 1: A broader takeaway I had from this game and also
- 16:47Speaker 1: thinking about LSU-Texas A & M, which we'll get to
- 16:49Speaker 1: in a moment here, is this is what the new
- 16:54Speaker 1: era of college football feels like. And it's not just
- 16:56Speaker 1: the SEC. It's across the board, is that these losses
- 17:02Speaker 1: are absorbable. And part of that is the expansion of
- 17:06Speaker 1: the playoff. I understand that. But also, there is far
- 17:10Speaker 1: more parity. There are far more good teams. I think
- 17:14Speaker 1: we all can agree that Ohio State is probably the
- 17:18Speaker 1: best roster.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I guess, is the best way to put it.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Like, to say the best team, like, you know, rankings,
- 17:23Speaker 1: they obviously lost to Texas, so there's that. But I'm
- 17:26Speaker 1: of the opinion Ohio State is the best team on
- 17:29Speaker 1: both sides of the ball, probably closest to being the
- 17:31Speaker 1: most complete at this point in time. And then there's
- 17:33Speaker 1: a second tier with Texas, Georgia, Miami, and maybe Notre Dame, but, like,
- 17:37Speaker 1: you know, There's Georgia and Notre Dame who haven't really
- 17:39Speaker 1: played anybody, so there's that element as well. It just
- 17:43Speaker 1: feels like, to me, these types of losses are going
- 17:46Speaker 1: to happen for a variety of different schools, no matter
- 17:50Speaker 1: if you think in the preseason that these teams could
- 17:53Speaker 1: make it all the way to the national championship.
- 17:55Speaker 2: This is a loss that Ole Miss can overcome.
- 17:58Speaker 1: It's just a matter of how do you go about
- 18:01Speaker 1: doing it, and the rest of the schedule feels friendly
- 18:04Speaker 1: enough that they should be able to accomplish that and
- 18:07Speaker 1: I do look at their two toughest games that they
- 18:09Speaker 1: have remaining at Texas and home against Georgia they will
- 18:13Speaker 1: have a chance in both of those games and it
- 18:16Speaker 1: comes back to the point you just said is like
- 18:17Speaker 1: oh is Trinidad good for 28 points on the board
- 18:20Speaker 1: okay are you gonna have to score 35 42 to
- 18:24Speaker 1: beat anybody so the pressure is on Pete Golding ironically
- 18:27Speaker 1: who is a defensive guy and he's got to figure
- 18:28Speaker 1: things out on the defensive side of the ball to
- 18:31Speaker 1: give his offense a chance and hopefully you get Kiwan
- 18:33Speaker 1: Lacey back soon you gotta buy or add Vanderbilt to
- 18:35Speaker 1: your point I don't love that matchup for the Commodores
- 18:38Speaker 1: in any way, shape, or form. But Ole Miss has
- 18:41Speaker 1: the chance to get back up off the mat for
- 18:43Speaker 1: the remainder of the season. I think this is just
- 18:46Speaker 1: what college football is going to feel like for the
- 18:48Speaker 1: foreseeable future. It's not like what you and I grew
- 18:50Speaker 1: up on is that you lose one game, season's over,
- 18:54Speaker 1: glaring issues, nothing can be corrected. It's like, no, I
- 18:57Speaker 1: feel like this is going to ebb and flow week
- 18:59Speaker 1: to week.
- 19:00Speaker 4: You are easily able to find yourself back in the
- 19:02Speaker 4: running for a college football playoff after the bye week
- 19:04Speaker 4: if you can come out swinging and play on all
- 19:06Speaker 4: four cylinders, offensive, defensive, and special teams. And a team
- 19:10Speaker 4: like Florida can easily find itself coming up short if
- 19:13Speaker 4: it does not continue to play at the same level
- 19:15Speaker 4: it has. The thing is that I look at coaching
- 19:18Speaker 4: as being now the outlier of what makes a team that.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Much more special.
- 19:22Speaker 4: And Florida's got a special guy down right now in Gainesville,
- 19:25Speaker 4: which is why.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Again, if you compared him to Billy Napier.
- 19:29Speaker 4: If at any point this offseason you said that the
- 19:31Speaker 4: guy from Louisiana that comes on in is basically going
- 19:33Speaker 4: to be the next Billy Napier.
- 19:37Speaker 3: It's time for you to go ahead and apologize. By
- 19:39Speaker 3: the way, no, we are not prerecorded. This is a
- 19:41Speaker 3: live show. Those of you in the chat.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And I will say the Mississippi State game, the Egg
- 19:47Speaker 1: Bowl at the end of the season, that should be
- 19:48Speaker 1: a hell of a game.
- 19:49Speaker 2: So in my opinion.
- 19:50Speaker 1: There's three coin flip games the remainder of the season
- 19:52Speaker 1: for old miss the chance for them to potentially have
- 19:55Speaker 1: four losses like mike g691 is saying here in the
- 19:57Speaker 1: comment section entirely possible but for them to escape with
- 20:02Speaker 1: maybe just two losses this entire season also possible it's.
- 20:06Speaker 4: Also possible to go to atlanta I mean, it's possible
- 20:09Speaker 4: that they end up going 7-5. It's possible they end
- 20:12Speaker 4: up winning the national title.
- 20:13Speaker 3: It's not done. Either way.
