- 0:01Yo, checked this out. Man, it's been a pretty uh crazy week.
- 0:08Last last episode we talked about how you know, were getting started with
- 0:12my wife Salona and everything. So been a lot of changes. So it's
- 0:16been hectic week. A lot of crazy storms here in Florida too. You
- 0:20know, it's been like either storming or super hot. It's crazy, man.
- 0:24But honestly, like, the one thing that's really like on the front
- 0:28of my head is last night's called a duty session. Man. Man,
- 0:33Joe, you didn't have the pleasure to be on for that one last night.
- 0:37Yeah, but you know, we had a nice, nice game of
- 0:41runs. I mean a nice night of runs, I would say, uh,
- 0:45man, we had like what like four second places. Quincy literally played
- 0:49probably like five or six games where it was like second place. Damn near
- 0:52every single game. Man, it was been It's been a blender, man,
- 0:55it's been a blender. I haven't played much, but the games that
- 0:58have played are very very similar. Yo. The best part right now is
- 1:02like I see Quincy's a little smile dog like it's coming. He's like waiting
- 1:06for it. So it's like just you're just making it like got the little
- 1:11smile, Like all right, Brook, I know it's coming. Just say
- 1:14a little bullshit he get that sh out of the way, yo, man,
- 1:19shout out to Angel and Ronnie dog Yo. They're getting a lot of
- 1:22burn on this podcast. Real talk. I'm about how to start charging them
- 1:25ass space. But anyway, Yo, we was playing Call of Duty last
- 1:30night, a little little quad a resurgence, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:33We've been on that resurgence ever since they brought back a Shika Island because I
- 1:37was I was not messing with that Vondal. It was just whack man.
- 1:41It's still whack man. It's still there. But whatever. So we're playing
- 1:45I think it what was it like the second first or second game? Quincy,
- 1:48like a second game? Like the second game, man, Like we're
- 1:52like the last team left against another team and we're like in a building and
- 1:57me and Angel died, Ronnie and Quincy's alive. Right, So you're in
- 2:01the building on the other side of the walls. To buy, So explain
- 2:07to buy because some people might not that stress all right. So in Call
- 2:09of Duty, basically, like the whole point is you want to outlast everybody
- 2:14else, like that's playing. There's like how many teams, like twenty something
- 2:19teams or something. Depends on it, but yeah, it depends on it.
- 2:23Like twenty something teams. Teams are four and you want to be the
- 2:27last team left. Like you know, it's it's a fight. It's a
- 2:30war game. So everybody got guns and stuff, so you're just basically trying
- 2:34to kill every other team. So there's a buy station, which is basically
- 2:38like it looks like a cash like a big cash register almost, and you
- 2:42go and you can buy like stuff that helps you in the game, you
- 2:46know, like you can get a radar to show where everybody's at. You
- 2:47can get like missile strikes, and another thing you can do is buy people
- 2:52back that die, Like if your teammates and they don't have like any revive
- 2:57or nothing left, you can buy them and they just dropped back on the
- 3:00map, as long as it got a lot of money, lost a lot
- 3:02of money, and I gotta have a lot of money, exactly, you
- 3:06gotta have a lot of money. The buyers aren't everywhere, so it just
- 3:07so happens. Ronnie and Quincy's on one side of the wall and the buy
- 3:14is on the other side of the wall, on the outside. So it's
- 3:16like all right, bet, so we know where the buy is at.
- 3:19We look at the bread, you know, it's it's four thousand to buy
- 3:23somebody back, right, Ronnie got seven thousand. Like for some reason,
- 3:27I'm looking at Ronnie's amount while Ronnie's talking like he's like, damn, man
- 3:30only got seven thousand, and I can get one. And then Quincy's like,
- 3:32bro, don't worry, I got you. I look at quincy'ston.
- 3:36Quincy got thirty seven thousand dollars, he says, on me, Yo,
- 3:40thirty seven thousand, and he needs four thousand to buy a person back.
- 3:45Me and Angel dead. That's eight thousand dollars. My man could have a
- 3:47clean twenty nine thousand left to do with it whatever he pleases. You feel
- 3:52me, y'all seeing the strapping up, wiping the sweat off your hands,
- 3:55ready to jump back in that game. We're ready. It's like, yo,
- 4:00the other team is like on the other side of the building, so
- 4:03they're away from the bye. We got a chance to get the you know,
- 4:06get the teammates back, regroup. We got more people than them if
- 4:10we buy everybody back, so we golden. It was like almost like a
- 4:14guaranteed win, yo, Yo, Quincy turns the corner, goes and hits
- 4:18the buy and like you see his like little icon in the corner and you
- 4:24see the amount of money he has next to the icon, right, and
- 4:27you see like the money's just going down down up next, going down down.
- 4:36Yo. Then he got like five K left, like five thousand or
- 4:40seven thousand and left, like yo, like what happened? Like all his
- 4:43money's gone, but we're still dead. And then Ronnie he's like, yo,
- 4:48what's going on? Is the game glitchen because you guys haven't come back
- 4:51yet. And then um he looks he's like, yo, Quincy, do
- 4:55you not buy them back? And he's like, oh were they dead?
- 5:00Oh my god? Bro. Like like the rest of the details I can't
- 5:05really explain because if you don't play the game, you won't really get it.
- 5:09But needless to say, we died and we lost that game second place,
- 5:15and it just set off a terrible night of nothing but second places.
- 5:19Bro. I know a story is gonna be hilarious. When I was getting
- 5:23out the shower and I see Yoda asked me in the chat, he just
- 5:28asked me just back to my name, and that's how he wrote something before
- 5:30I was like, oh, you probably wanted me to see that. So
- 5:31I'm getting dressed. I get dressed, I throw my Apple Watch on.
- 5:35I look at my watching this twenty five text messages. I was like,
- 5:39there's no way it must be behind because Yoda just text me before I got
- 5:42in the shower. And then it was the whole story said, there's so
- 5:47much to it. There was twenty five texts. Yeah, I just started
- 5:50dying laughing. And in that moment, I know, I know how much
- 5:55you heard, Quincy. I've done it before. I know the worst part
- 5:58about it, Joe, is that I was on dam like as far as
- 6:01like Nigga. I had just wiped like three teams and like in my mind
- 6:06I went to the by like, Yo, I'm gonna just buy everything,
- 6:09throw a load out. We're gonna have everything in front of us. I
- 6:12threw a load out. I had an air striker, had an UAV,
- 6:14I had everything and did not realize except for the teaving shout out to my
- 6:21homie is he man? Because like is he is? He had the story
- 6:26before Quincy. You know what I'm saying. You definitely took the crown,
- 6:29though, dog, because Yo, your mind stake Chrissy was there. He
- 6:34was there, just like, let's see what can that cough? Bro Bro.
- 6:39That was my mindset. I was like, yoa, I got thirty
- 6:42seven bands. I'm getting everything I can get, so we could take these
- 6:45niggas out. And then what happened after that was even worse because then I
- 6:48realized, oh shit, they're dead. Let me go back to the bye
- 6:51and I got murdered. Bro Bro. Everything you could do wrong, you
- 6:57did wrong. The man man, that was a fold. If I've ever
- 7:00fo yeah, that was I will take that. Like there's like a little
- 7:05loading screen in between games, like once you finish and the loading screen is
- 7:10like mad quiet and then the loading screen and then Runney just goes wow man
- 7:23shot yo yo. That to the Michael J. Fox thing. That Fox
- 7:28is a classic one. The oh the Izzy one I didn't tell yo yo.
- 7:31Shout out to my boy Izzy Man and Edgar Um. They're from Wentworth
- 7:35Man. So like every time we play, like we just be talking mad
- 7:39ship and it just be mad funny. So we're playing the regular war zone
- 7:43like that one, you don't even come back, Like if you die,
- 7:46you're done, and it's way longer. The map is way bigger, Like
- 7:49it's just way more tedious. So we're playing that one, me Edgar and
- 7:54Izzy Me and Edgar died like pretty early, bro, So like Izzy had
- 7:59to like find the money, you know in the game and find the buy.
- 8:03Yo. He's looking like he was doing this for like probably like seven
- 8:05minutes, bro, And like in a game, like while you're playing seven
- 8:09minutes, Bro, that's a long time and be just dead watching somebody else's
- 8:13screen, you know what I mean. So he finally gets the money,
- 8:16he finally hits the buy. We're like, yes, finally he goes to
- 8:22the buy and he buys a gas mask, and then he starts walking away
- 8:26from the buy like all I bet and we're like, is he bro,
- 8:28you ain't buy his dog? And he's like, no, I got a
- 8:31gas mask and gets the gas start coming in and you know what I'm saying,
- 8:35No, I ain't gonna lie, no, not all. That's still
- 8:39worse because I didn't know y'all was dead. Bro. That's worse. Bro,
- 8:46that's worse. That's worse. Dogs that fingers going do pause? You
- 8:54see that you can see my face clear? You buy one gas mask and
- 9:00see you the Jordan one you got a pair of Gucci sunglasses. You was
- 9:07chilling. No, that was funny, man, Yo. The funny thing
- 9:13about playing called the Duty Dog is like it could literally be like one of
- 9:16those nights where like you're literally you don't have a good time playing bro,
- 9:20Like you just get like there's certain games that you can lose and be okay
- 9:26with it. Like you was playing good you know what I'm saying. You
- 9:28lost on some random you know, thing that you couldn't control, but like
- 9:33them Knights, like I'm telling you, last night, we got none but
- 9:35second places. Like it was every game. It's like, Bro, like
- 9:39we could we could have clearly did something different to win it, like we
- 9:41always folded at the end. Bro. And my wife always knows, like
- 9:46when I take my headphones off, like if we won or lost that night,
- 9:50you know what I mean. When you're back to that loaded screen and
- 9:54they have those three pictures and you're just loading and you feel like those games
- 10:00talking about where a second place where you did something stupid to lose that ship,
- 10:03and it just sits like at the pit of your stomach. You're just
- 10:05like, oh, bo, that's why I was last night was rough because
- 10:09we had that and then like three second places after that where it was like,
- 10:15dog, we we needed a dub last ning. I needed a dub
- 10:18last night, Like you know what I'm saying. I feel that I'll be
- 10:22feeling like it's wasting my time when I don't get a dub, Bro,
- 10:24just be looking out the window. Side. That's when the new map came
- 10:31out. Less. It was like, how many dubs y'all get on that
- 10:33ship? Yeah? Facts, man, it's terrible. Bro. You have
- 10:39to live on those on those roofs, and the second you fall down,
- 10:41you're done. It's just and it's not even necessarily like the map itself or
- 10:48like really what it is, bro, it's just too much people. Bro.
- 10:52That one it has seventy something people instead of fifty people. So like
- 10:58that's why I like we'd be getting to the end, bro, and it'd
- 11:01be like twenty teams still left, and it's just going crazy. Like it's
- 11:05so crazy, it's all it's literally blind luck, bro, Like there's no
- 11:09there's no way. I mean, obviously you can have technique, like if
- 11:11you're not ratting, you know what I'm saying, if you're not just in
- 11:13a building kind of like watching the corners and stuff, you're not gonna win,
- 11:18Like you know what I'm saying, Like everything is chanced because there's buildings
- 11:22everywhere, there's doors everywhere, windows everywhere. Yeah, there's a million ways
- 11:26to get to where you're at yep, and ain't no way to memorize watch
- 11:30every single how everything goes, you know what I mean, even building you're
- 11:33not even gonna know like how many doors there are? Nothing, you know
- 11:37what I'm saying. It's crazy, It's just it's just too much. It's
- 11:41too much. I think there's a sense of reality when you're playing, like
- 11:43there's no way, oh human could possibly just do all that? Yeah,
- 11:48facts that Um. I will say this though, Man, that Call of
- 11:54Duty the last one, bro, it definitely was like the apex of Call
- 12:01of Duty till now, like the one that dropped before this. What is
- 12:03this one? Modern warfare too? Is Is that what it is? Yeah?
- 12:07What was the last one? It was just called Vanguard. Vanguard was
- 12:11the one with the factory right that was that was like that was like the
- 12:18apex, bro, Like that one is so fire that I'd be seeing now
- 12:22like when I'd be scrolling my social media feeds, like people are starting to
- 12:26just post clips from that, like just because they make so much yeah,
- 12:31like bringing the clips back like yo, remember this, and then like they're
- 12:33showing like old dubs on that map. You know what I mean. I
- 12:37love I love a little shippy to Algatraz. This is like the exact layout
- 12:41of Fire, Bro, and even like the jail cells and everything. Yeah,
- 12:46but I think you were the one that sent that. When I read
- 12:48that, like it even gives you like a better appreciation for the map,
- 12:50you know what I'm saying, Like even just how much they really said,
- 12:54like Yo, let's make it exactly like that, So it really gives you
- 12:56that feel of like have you never been there? And you go play that
- 13:00happen? You know exactly what they inside of Alcatraz looks like that's the You
- 13:03know, it's funny you say that because I thought about that too, like
- 13:05you know, because you always think about being a guy like that. You
- 13:09grow up on the action movies and stuff like that, Like you just think,
- 13:13like, dang if I get dropped in the Alcatraz one day, like
- 13:16I lay out, you know what I'm saying. The Rock was a fire
- 13:22movie, Bro, Nicolas Cage the Rock, ye little yo, that um
- 13:28that little nuclear Gael thing coming out of the little banishter Bro like that of
- 13:35the ship put me on edge, bro, Like no, like, yeah,
- 13:41that movie was fire Man Nicolas Cage. Yo, so is Nicolas kid
- 13:46to go to action? Start Start. It's funny that you say that,
- 13:52But now that you say it, I mean face off, Um, con
- 13:56Air National Treasure were action movie. I'll give a little Yeah, suspenseful action
- 14:03movies. Yeah, that's kind of a little stretch. He was sorry,
- 14:09that's like, that's like saying Da Vinci Code is an action movie. You
- 14:11know what I'm saying, Like just because they run in briskly Jackson, Yeah,
- 14:16some moves who Jackson? Yeah, I'm a big DaVinci Code fan.
- 14:24Well yeah, I've never read the books, but I love them three movies,
- 14:28Dog, The movies are fired. Man. I always like when they
- 14:33throw in the history in it and kind of a little twist and make you
- 14:37think like, oh man, that's crazy. Yo, it's wild. Um
- 14:41just thinking about the movies and just the idea that like, not even just
- 14:48specifically that movie, but it just reminds me of like, yo, who
- 14:50thinks of that stuff? You know what I mean? Like with the Da
- 14:52Vinci Code, like all the stuff they pull from like real things, and
- 14:56like how they weave it into like these crazy the ideas that when you really
- 15:01look at the history, like some of it is kind of supported, you
- 15:03know what I mean, Like it's just crazy. It's kind of like the
- 15:07thing where like you know, the when the pandemic happened and they had like
- 15:11a pandemic movie that was kind of out around the same time, you know
- 15:13what I mean. And it's like it kind of follows rhythms and stuff,
- 15:16and it kind of goes back to like something we talked about when we were
- 15:18talking about the deja vu and everything. It's like these these things, it's
- 15:22like what is it? You know what I'm saying? Is there really something
- 15:24special the vine? Is it just these things repeat and it's just bound to
- 15:28happen, Like like there's so many factors at play that it just makes your
- 15:33mind go crazy, you know what I mean, Like not go crazy,
- 15:35but it just gets your gears going. I do. But I think I
- 15:39think what we've we've tending to forget is the it's a factor in the odds
- 15:45of things happening. And like just like the Simpsons stuff, the Simpson's been
- 15:48on for like well forty something years. Yeah, over twenty twenty plus episodes
- 15:54for forty years, all those guests, is they bound to get something right,
- 15:58Like the probability of their then finally getting something right, it's gonna hit,
- 16:02and it's gonna hit like one random big thing. I was about to
- 16:04say, it's crazy though, because some of the stuff that they be getting
- 16:07right, it just be Yeah, it's kind of like you were saying,
- 16:14Joe, like like if you if you just if you just you know,
- 16:18bring the bring the topic in the air, like your mind is naturally gonna
- 16:22progress a certain way, like you know what I'm saying, Like the latest
- 16:26one is the Titanic sub thing, you know what I mean, Like if
- 16:30you think, oh, what if we do something with like a small submarine
- 16:33or something like that, Like you know, naturally you're gonna go towards like
- 16:37what if something happens to it? You know, it's a little submarine.
- 16:40You know it's a small crew, like you know what I mean, Like
- 16:42you're just gonna think of that if you're brainstorming for a show, you know
- 16:45what I mean, Like, there's only two ways it could go. It's
- 16:48a fifty fifty once you get to the subject, it's a fifty chance that
- 16:52you're gonna talk about what happened, you know what I mean. So it's
- 16:55kind of like you said, Joe, like the odds are in your favorite
- 16:57one, especially in those shows, like they're literally just trying to sup with
- 17:02ideas and content and just different spins on stuff anyway, Like that's their main
- 17:07goal every single day, Like what can we you know, what skit or
- 17:11whatever can we do on this show that's gonna make somebody look at it and
- 17:15be like, oh, that's crazy, you know what I mean? Yeah,
- 17:17do you know what I found out today? And it's probably a Simpsons
- 17:19episode. There is land that's being bought right right outside of Vegas here within
- 17:27thirty miles of Vegas and desert. And it's gonna be a spaceport airport but
- 17:33for space, and it's for space tourism and for people who are going to
- 17:38take trips to space and then trying to do fifteen trips a year. Crazy,
- 17:44they are building an airport to go to space. I remember when,
- 17:48um, when I was like I don't know, like early twenties, like
- 17:53when I was working at the airport and they kind of like unveiled like a
- 18:00concept because I was working not for Version Atlantic, but I was working with
- 18:04them, and they kind of unveiled this thing that Richard Branson was talking about
- 18:08where it was kind of like a thing where they would take like you're saying,
- 18:12like little flights to space where they're basically what they'll do is they'll fly
- 18:15to certain altitude right up the amount of time they'll break the barrier, go
- 18:19up there for a little bit, and then come back down. And that
- 18:22would basically be like you're saying, exactly that. So I wonder if they're
- 18:26involved in that at all. Yeah, no, But but it's not because
- 18:30I bet there's gonna be a Simpsons episode that's going to drop them taking tours
- 18:34in space like that, and they're gonna say symptoms predicted something else. And
- 18:41eventually all this stuff is gonna happen. It just the ideas they had came
- 18:45from progression of history and how things are evolving. So I guess that's what
- 18:51I'm saying. Eventually people are going to make the right It's like nostrodamus,
- 18:55how much shit did he guess? Exactly? He hit on some of them,
- 18:59but how much did he really try to get? And then if you
- 19:02if you got a very good grasp on psychology, and then especially you're in
- 19:07the early stages of civilization. I mean, just from the point of view
- 19:11of Notre Damis, it's like you're at a stage where there's still a lot
- 19:15of innovation to be had, you know what I'm saying. At the time
- 19:18that he was around. So if you're somebody that's pretty bright, you kind
- 19:22of see where things are going, and then you can understand how in people's
- 19:27hands, you know, all these advances are not necessarily going to be good
- 19:30because everybody knows that there's shitty people out there, you know what I mean.
- 19:34It's like, you know, eventually somebody should. You know. It's
- 19:37just like in the movies and stuff, like exactly what we're talking about.
- 19:40Like in the movies, they always try to build something and think it's gonna
- 19:44be for good, and then somebody, the wrong person gets their hands on
- 19:48it. The world almost dies, and then they realize like, oh,
- 19:52we can't do this because it's too much and there's somebody's always gonna try to
- 19:55mess it up. It's like that, you know, It's literally the same
- 19:59thing over like when you was an elementary school and you lost your recess because
- 20:02one kid was talking during class and you're looking at him like, Bro,
- 20:04you literally prevented all of us from going our side, like the whole class,
- 20:10Like none of us could play ball now, like just because you couldn't
- 20:12shut up, you know what I mean? That's kind of like all the
- 20:15stuff that be going on now, Like you know, political, just you
- 20:19pick it, bro, it's always because somebody had to ruin it for everybody
- 20:22else. Bro, what's your thoughts? You just said political, and it
- 20:26just made me think of So, what's your thoughts on the transparency that we're
- 20:30seeing now as far as politics? Like I feel like fifteen twenty twenty five
- 20:36years ago it was very secret like of what went on in politics, But
- 20:42I feel like now it's so public of how corrupt things are. What's your
- 20:47thoughts on that? Costal media? I think that's a key difference maker.
- 20:55I think the openness about how it is, the available the availability of the
- 21:02Internet and resources of information and it's live Twitter, and like I said,
- 21:10you look at demographics and you look at audiences, right, and you think
- 21:15of I don't want to get too into it, but threads, which is
- 21:18the Twitter of Facebook, meta people who have Twitter know everything quicker than anybody
- 21:27else out there. That's just that that's the most real time you get.
- 21:33You only get a glimpse of your timeline live and every social media I would
- 21:38let after that kind of just supposed. I think in his Instagram, I
- 21:42think, then his Facebook, TikTok is. I feel like all these apps
- 21:47have their own things, and I feel like Twitter was the first one to
- 21:52start putting everybody onto everything real time as it happened, live videos before they
- 21:59got taken down, before they got censored. Protests happen in other protesting,
- 22:03having other countries civil wars, and other countries injustices all that shit, and
- 22:08well injustice here. The whole Black Lives Matter movement was live on Twitter social
- 22:14media. I think that is what is a difference now, and that's why
- 22:18it's so transparent now. Yeah, that definitely is the biggest thing. It's
- 22:23like, and it kind of goes to like the whole theme of like the
- 22:27podcast and everything, just to kind of really tell you where I'm coming from
- 22:33with this. It's like, if you just solid, no matter what's going
- 22:38on, you're gonna be straight, you know what I'm saying. And that's
- 22:41the thing about politicians, man Like, when you really look at what it
- 22:45is and like that kind of lifestyle and everything, it's something that it's a
- 22:49it's an environment that's not created for anybody to be good. You know what
- 22:53I'm saying. It's literally impossible for somebody to I mean, I'm not gonna
- 22:59say literally impossible. But the thing we were just talking about, somebody always
- 23:03ruins and for everybody, man Like, when when you're in politics, you're
- 23:07in rooms of teams all the time, different teams doing different things. Every
- 23:11like, you're gonna have to get everybody on each of those teams on the
- 23:15same page as you and really to see your vision for you to really carry
- 23:18it out the way that you want to carry it out. But it ain't
- 23:22gonna happen, bro Like the people around you with some of them are gonna
- 23:25be greedy, some of them are gonna be lazy, some of them are
- 23:27gonna be questionable, some of them are gonna be good, you know what
- 23:30I'm saying. And those odds are just they're they're just not good, you
- 23:34know what I'm saying. Like, if you just even think about your own
- 23:37regular, everyday life, how many people you can actually count on bro like
- 23:41it's very rare few and far between. So imagine trying to find a whole
- 23:45bunch of reliable people like for the government, right, you know, you
- 23:48know what? What what? I just remember that I was studying for this
- 23:55project management stuff, right, And the whole shift of project management is soft
- 24:00skills and people skills. It's getting people on your side. That's that's really
- 24:03the only way you're going to succeed in the team environment. And when people
- 24:08hating against you, it derails you. And it's and it's funny because it
- 24:12says, like the whole way you communicate something like whether it's your plan or
- 24:17not, if you don't make these people feel like they're involved, they're merely
- 24:21gonna hate on you, and they're gonna ask whatever it is you're doing,
- 24:23no matter how good it is or not. And it's it's the way you
- 24:27communicate something. And I think that also plays a part in the person who's
- 24:32trying to make a change and make a difference. It's getting people involved to
- 24:36agree that it's kind of their idea too, and then it all comes together.
- 24:41And I think I think that's the worst thing about any political environment,
- 24:45and especially our politics, is that there's people who hate just to hate for
- 24:49no reason, just because no funk with the way a person did something,
- 24:53and the kind of we kind of went off a little bit what Quincy originally
- 24:59said, but it just it ties into because like even that transparency that he's
- 25:03talking about with the political parties and just with people in politics, it's kind
- 25:08of forced. They kind of have no choice because there's so many cameras and
- 25:11social media and things going on that they really have nowhere to hide. But
- 25:15also what it does is show those flaws and show, you know, where
- 25:21people's interests lie, you know what i mean, Like if you really just
- 25:25kind of you know, the funny thing that people say in politics and stuff
- 25:29like is follow the money, you know, but it really is what it
- 25:30is. That's what it is and everything you know what I'm saying, and
- 25:33exactly what you're talking about, Joe, Like, even in music, bro
- 25:37Like, music is really just as far as like achieving a certain amount of
- 25:41success, it's really just convincing one person that you warrant X amount of money
- 25:48to put your art out for the world to see, you know what I'm
- 25:51saying. It's not really like we're talking about with politicians. To relate it
- 25:55to music. It's not a skill. It's not you know how much how
- 25:57much managing people music? You know, it's none of that. It's if
- 26:02that person's coming to the table with a with a team behind them that believe
- 26:07in them, and a following, they're they're exhibiting where you're talking about,
- 26:11Joe. They got them people's skills. They have the ability to maintain an
- 26:15audience and make them feel like, hey, my cause is your cause,
- 26:18so help me propel to that next level. That that dynamic and that thing.
- 26:25That's something that just cannot be taught. It can't be transferred. Like
- 26:30it's something that when people have it, Bro, if you don't capitalize on
- 26:33it like that, that to me is like one of like that that's like
- 26:37a true gift, you know what I'm saying to me, That true gifts.
- 26:45And and I wouldn't even classify it as a talent dog because like it's,
- 26:48like I said, Bro, you can't teach that to somebody. Somebody
- 26:51could kind of pick it up and and learn the little, uh, you
- 26:53know, little psychology tips and tricks to kind of make it work. But
- 27:00if people just don't feel you off rip and just feel like, hey,
- 27:03I like this guy, could get behind him, or I like this girl,
- 27:04I could get behind her. Like if people just don't feel that from
- 27:07you, like, you can't you can't replicate that, you know what I'm
- 27:11saying. I know if you ro I know a short list of people in
- 27:15my life that just got that kind of energy that like, whatever they feel
- 27:18like they want to direction, they want to move in, they got everybody's
- 27:22support for it, you know what I'm saying. And that's something that,
- 27:26um, it's hard to find as a as a person, but it's also
- 27:30something that you cannot like you can't envy, you can't dwell on it,
- 27:33and you can't look and be like, oh man, why why is that
- 27:37person getting this and that? And I'm not you know what I'm saying.
- 27:38It's like, bro, like everybody's not gonna get every gift, you know
- 27:42what I'm saying. And if that's not your gift, you know you,
- 27:45like I said, you can't chase that. You can't you can't make it
- 27:48happen. Like it's like it's kind of like the Kanye thing, you know,
- 27:52he he let his genius show and he really like was not denied as
- 27:59far as like as an artist goes. But when it came down to like
- 28:03he wanted people to recognize him in a certain light and feel about him a
- 28:07certain way. It's like, bro, if people just don't feel like that
- 28:08about you already, you're not gonna make them feel like that. I'm trying.
- 28:14But exactly he tried. He tried to get everybody look at him in
- 28:18a certain kind of lighting. And you know, he really wanted to be
- 28:21like, yo, like look at me like this because this is the type
- 28:22of person I am. And it's like, bro, you can't tell people
- 28:25how to look at you. You know what I'm saying. I just stopped
- 28:26looking at him at that point. I'm to say if I say he was
- 28:29in my top he got to my top two favorite artists. And I just
- 28:33don't even listen to anything others old stuff, that's for sure. Yeah with
- 28:40artists. Man like even like to tie it into like the whole gunn of
- 28:42thing because he I posted something again talking about threads. I opened my account
- 28:48today and it's pretty dope. Man. I like I like the I like
- 28:51the option to have like a Twitter type thing, but not be Twitter because
- 28:55Twitter just degraded so much, Like with how how the space is over there
- 29:00that it's like not even fun bro. So like you know, you know
- 29:03how it is bro anytime, and you built a new culture of disrespect that's
- 29:07for super facts. And now with that direct time with your Instagram, with
- 29:11the threads, it's like you can't really hide like you know what I'm saying,
- 29:15Like people aren't really like troll and slash like having you're not able to
- 29:21have troll accounts the same way. Like but let me I mentioned earlier,
- 29:26do you feel like I feel like the people on Facebook. It's a whole
- 29:30different group, like the exclusive the Facebook exclusive people, It's a whole different
- 29:34group that definitely is a different crowd. But what I'm saying is when I
- 29:41say Facebook, I mean literally Facebook from the point of view of you can't
- 29:45make like like that. Yeah your Facebook again, Twitter you can account exactly.
- 29:56Yeah, Facebook account. You can't just make like a pair, you
- 29:59know what I'm saying. It has to be Yeah, you have to get
- 30:00all the verified Yeah it's not. It's not easy behind like a fake account
- 30:07on threads. You know what I'm saying. That is an approach. Yeah,
- 30:11So I think that part of it is going to keep it more civil,
- 30:15you know what I'm saying. Yeah, so yeah, so they gained
- 30:17thirty million plus users in the first day, so those are genuine users with
- 30:23but I mean yeah, but I also wouldn't. I'm not surprised, you
- 30:26know what I'm saying, because let's be real. This morning I saw the
- 30:30app, like I saw them talking about it, but I didn't pay any
- 30:33mind to it. But then if you go on your notifications, you see
- 30:37eight of my followers have sent out their first thread and now you're like,
- 30:42oh shit, what's what's going on with this thread thing? And so it's
- 30:45like the way they marketed it was was genius, you know what I'm saying.
- 30:48I'm not that shit exactly. And it place to hang out. Man,
- 30:55anytime it's a new place to hang out, everybody want to check it
- 30:57out, see what's going on, you know, and they already had the
- 31:02audience of Instagram, you know what I'm saying, And so it's import all
- 31:06your settings come on. When I'm back next toth I'm on that say less.
- 31:12Yeah, man, I feel like, um, Threads is definitely gonna
- 31:15be the place where the grounded show is gonna really live and thrive. You
- 31:18know what, I'm saying because it's like the perfect platform for it. But
- 31:22but the reason why brander chat is going to turn into threads facts, and
- 31:26the reason why I brought up the thread is because earlier I have posted something
- 31:30on there just talking about like as far as like rap music, like actually
- 31:33dope projects that have come out, and it made me think about what you
- 31:37said, Joe, because like when I look at artists, when I'm looking
- 31:40at you as far as like sonically, that's all I look at. You
- 31:42know what I'm saying, Like, there's there's um let's say certain things that
- 31:49I'm like, it blocks you in my head, Like you know, if
- 31:52you're you know, a certain type of criminal. You know what I'm saying.
- 31:56It was proven that you did something like super vile and you in jail
- 31:59for it, there's something it's like, all right at that point I cut
- 32:01you off. But as far as like being you know, you're not a
- 32:06real thug or you're a jerk in real life, like all those kind of
- 32:08details that are relevant to me. If the music's fired, you know what
- 32:10I'm saying. Like, so like with the Kanye thing, bro, if
- 32:14he drops music, I'm I'm gonna give it a checkout just because he's dope.
- 32:16If it sucks, it sucks. If it's dope, I'm a rock
- 32:19with it. I don't really care where he got going on as far as,
- 32:22like I said, as far as not nothing like crazy that's crossing the
- 32:24boundary, like as far as you know, you know, real harm that
- 32:29he's doing or whatever. But you know, it made me think about the
- 32:30Gunner project because like, that's like one of the projects recently that I've heard,
- 32:35probably in the last year, like one of the top three projects that
- 32:37I've heard, that's like the dopest ones, And I honestly haven't stopped listening
- 32:42since That's why I remember you talking about it. And then when I was
- 32:45getting my music, I saw so much of it on there. And now
- 32:47even my boys in the other chat, who don't funk with that music,
- 32:51after I told him that, they started listening to him more. It's like
- 32:52it's different, and I don't see it like that. I don't see Gunna
- 32:57in the form of his actions make me stop listened to his music. There's
- 33:00certain artists I see that way, but Gunna didn't stop me. Said,
- 33:05I'm glad I started listening to that shit, because that that ship is actually
- 33:08really really good, good energy on that. And the Gunna thing is curious
- 33:12too, and I'd like to throw it to Quincy to get his thoughts on
- 33:15this. But it's like with the Gunner project, the way, not the
- 33:19way I approached it, but after I really took it in and listened to
- 33:22it kind of like a different way, I was kind of like, all
- 33:24right, so this dude, you know, was in jail for for a
- 33:30lot of months, you know, dealing with this trial. When you do
- 33:32when you're doing that, obviously you off drugs, you know, you off
- 33:37you off of like that crazy artist schedule on and everything, and kind of
- 33:39it's just you and you know, you and jail. Russell is you and
- 33:42your thoughts. You know, your your body's getting right, your mind's getting
- 33:45right. He got out of jail. I'm listening to the project. The
- 33:51one thing that to me stood out right away was no no features, which
- 33:54is no because it was like, all right, he going through this whole
- 33:58thing where everybody's talking about he a snitch and everything, and you know,
- 34:01kind of like we've been talking about the street stuff. Bro, if you
- 34:04ignore it, don't even exist. So I throw that. I throw that
- 34:07out the window right away. But just from the point of view of him,
- 34:09I'm thinking about it, like dang, So he just came right off
- 34:13rip saying no features, this is all me. And the way he was
- 34:16like rapping on it in a way the songs were and like the the vibe
- 34:21and the and the energy behind it, like it really sounded like because I
- 34:24always thought Gunna was super dope sonically, like super super dope, you know,
- 34:29he would fall into that kind of like category of like people that's not
- 34:32really saying nothing and it's not really any kind of serious music, but if
- 34:37you listen to it sonically, bro, he's a great artist and this art,
- 34:40this album, I felt like what he was able to do was kind
- 34:44of like like clear up his brain and really like attack it in a way
- 34:50where he's like matching the the sonic ability with actually like what he's talking about
- 34:55on the album, you know what I'm saying, because you could tell he
- 34:58was actually like trying to get a message across out on it, you know
- 35:00what I'm saying. And it's just it was just funny and dope to me.
- 35:05How like people looking at him like like in the street sense, Oh
- 35:09now you saw for now you're this type of person. But then the energy
- 35:14that he came with on the album in a way he was rapping on it,
- 35:17it was like completely opposite, you know what I'm saying. So it
- 35:22was like a I don't know. I really liked how he approached it.
- 35:24I liked the sound of it. I like, um, I always liked
- 35:27his sound period. Shout out to Matt Man. Matt was the one that
- 35:30put me on a gonna like a long time ago. It was like probably
- 35:36like a year or so after he really got like on the scene, but
- 35:38before he really took off, and Matt was like, nah, bro,
- 35:42he's super dope. And ever since then, I've been hooked. I was
- 35:44like around twenty eighteen or something. But what do you think about that?
- 35:46Quincy? Like, I know that, um, you know, just from
- 35:51us saying out, I know that you're definitely at least like a casual Gunna
- 35:52fan, like you like the vibes, but um, you know, just
- 35:55with the whole situation how it unrolled and everything, and like with the new
- 36:00music, like how did you how did you feel about it? So I
- 36:02still have to give the entire album or listen. I did listen to a
- 36:06good chunk of it. I know, Um that fuck you mean joint that
- 36:08one. Before I even saw the video, Like the first time I heard
- 36:12it, I was like, Oh, that's hard, you know what I'm
- 36:13saying. Um, but I mean for me just as an artist, as
- 36:17a hip hop artist and as an avid hip hop listener, I mean,
- 36:23I just think that you know, all of the cloud stuff that people saying,
- 36:28like the snitch and all that stuff that that has nothing to do with
- 36:32the artistry, you know what I'm saying, Like, don't get me wrong.
- 36:36You lock into the studio and you got the talent Gunner has. Bro.
- 36:38Like it's like the same thing that happened with Rick Ross back in the
- 36:40day. Bro, they had him in a cop uniform. Bro, Like
- 36:44at a time where like you could not be anything but a super gangster bro
- 36:49Like that was one time and wrapped that. Even if you got punked,
- 36:52you're done, bro, Like, look at him now, he's literally one
- 36:54of the you know what I'm saying, Like arguably, Like you know what
- 36:59I'm saying, you look at him on amount Rushmore level, not like he's
- 37:01up there, but now just right now, after like the whole cop thing
- 37:05came out and right after he was still on their ass, like broil Rick
- 37:08Ross Like it was like, I mean, I just think it's just you
- 37:12know, it goes back and we've talked about it before. Man, that
- 37:15that stupid street code stuff, man, Like, you know, people try
- 37:17to translate that into artistry because it's rapping hip hop that you have to have
- 37:22this certain street code. And I'm not saying that I don't. I still
- 37:27don't know the situation with the whole Gunner thing because that's not my business really
- 37:30to know. But at the end of the day, man, like I
- 37:35know, like there's a lot of people, bro, that will shame me
- 37:37for playing R Kelly because of the stuff that he did, you know what
- 37:40I'm saying. And don't get me wrong, bro, the stuff that he
- 37:44did is trash, Like you know what I'm saying. But at the end
- 37:47of the day, you're not gonna tell me a person that enjoys and loves
- 37:52music that I can't enjoy and love music, you know what I'm saying.
- 37:54Like, Bro, all my old mixes have R Kelly and them, and
- 37:58I've been thinking about it. I have to remove the track or not.
- 38:00It sucks, yo, But it's like I get it. From the other
- 38:04side where it's like, oh, well, don't support him, blah blah
- 38:07blah. I get that, but it's like you can't tell somebody that loves
- 38:10music and everybody that hates R. Kelly can agree that the man was a
- 38:15talented artist, like you can't exactly exactly. So it's like all that aside
- 38:22man R Kelly's one I won't listen to. It's the I listened to them
- 38:28and Bro, when when I listened to it from the point of view of
- 38:30like, I know who he's talking to, Bro, Like it's just there's
- 38:34a bunch of people. I know the person, Bro that I I'm listening
- 38:38to. I know every single word of every song I listened to, Like
- 38:43I'm listening to it in depth. Like honestly, Bro, that's why I'm
- 38:46not a Kid Cuddy fan, because I don't understand what he says. Dog
- 38:50Like he's just been mumbling on the songs. I don't understand what he's saying.
- 38:53It's it's a good vibe and everything, but I can't listen to it
- 38:57because I don't know what you're saying. Bro, you know what I'm saying.
- 38:59And to me, that's the thing with the R Kelly stuff like it,
- 39:01just it'd be too much sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not
- 39:06yeah I about to say that, Don't get me wrong. There's definitely my
- 39:08limits because the sexual joints, it is a little uncomfortable. But you're telling
- 39:13me, Dog, I can't step in the name of love. You know
- 39:15what I'm saying? Crazy part brow always talking about and I'm telling you,
- 39:21Bro, you're talking to a dude. That my first piece of music that
- 39:24I ever owned, that was mine like that. It's like, Bro,
- 39:29this is mine. I went to like a thrift when I lived in Texas.
- 39:31Bro, we went to the thrift shop that was like in front of
- 39:35our complex. Dog. They had a couple of tapes, right. The
- 39:38first one I grabbed was Space Jam the I Believe Right. The second one
- 39:46I grabbed was off the one I swear my two And there were tapes.
- 39:52Bro. That's telling you how old I am and how broke I was,
- 39:55because tapes wasn't even really a thing when I was a kid. Dog,
- 39:59it was just he was poor. But remember his track the World's Greatest?
- 40:01Of course, yeah that is. There's people in my life who know for
- 40:07that how much I love that song. They know me just for that.
- 40:09R Kelly was the go to me bro. Yo. My childhood I'm gonna
- 40:15tell you right now, my childhood was R. Kelly and Bill Cosby Brom
- 40:21was a great judge of character. I feel like I feel like I mad.
- 40:25I mean my Rasha Bro. Have you ever seen that picture of him
- 40:29with his best man at his wedding? Brothers O J. Simpson and who
- 40:34was the other one? It was my rash oh O J. Simpson and
- 40:38r and uh Bill Cosby bro best man at his wedding Like damn, Bro,
- 40:45I don't know. I don't want to hear about that bachelor party tell
- 40:47you that. But now that was my whole childhood, Bro. R Kelly
- 40:52and Bill Cosby Bro, and they both broke my high. Those were tough,
- 41:00bro, Those those were tough for us to deal with. The tire
- 41:02bike tied all back and if I could drop my ship so we could wrap
- 41:07it up. Um, I do have a bunch of mixes coming out.
- 41:09I have all my own mixes I found. I'm still trying to tie if
- 41:13I want to remove some of the art. Kelly tracks Hey, real quick,
- 41:17I know you dry and ornery, but let me get this in real
- 41:20quick. Um uh. For the Bill Cosby one though, for real,
- 41:27for real, Like the R Kelly one. I was a big fan,
- 41:29but it's not that serious. But the Bill Cosby one, Bro, Like
- 41:31he was like my dad when I was a kid, Bro, Like that
- 41:35Cosby show really raised me. Bro, Like I learned life like between like
- 41:40Bill Cosby taught me like the the hardy stuff, and NAS taught me like
- 41:45the street stuff. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, and Dog.
- 41:49When I found out that, when that Bill Cosby thing went down and all
- 41:52this, I was like, oh man, not Bill. Dog. Yeah,
- 41:57that's tough. And then it always makes me think the show Bro,
- 42:00Felicia was shot. She was talking to one of the kids. I forgot
- 42:04exactly what it was about, but I remember the quote exactly. Bro.
- 42:07She said the will is strong, but the flesh is weak. And always
- 42:12that I always thought about that. That quote always stuck with me. But
- 42:15when that whole Bill Cosby thing went down, Bro, that's the only thing
- 42:19I could think about, Dog, the will is strong talking to him?
- 42:22Crazy? Bro? Crazy, But my bad, what are you saying about
- 42:25your mix? No? Trying to decide if I want to keep our Kelly
- 42:30on there Man, I have a lot of R Kelly stuff on there and
- 42:34just trying to like have that discernment and like should I really care about that
- 42:40or should I just put out what I originally made some definitely, Uh,
- 42:45I'm still debating, but let's just say this. Let's just say that you
- 42:49got to look at from that situation, is this, Are you gonna care
- 42:53about the feedback either way? M That's what I was doing. If it
- 42:59doesn't matter either way, Like, if you're not gonna pay attention to it,
- 43:00because you know, the noise is gonna come either way, even if
- 43:05people agree or disagree, it's gonna come. If you know you're not gonna
- 43:08care about it either way, do whatever you know either way, do whatever
- 43:12you want, you know what I'm saying, But just know the noise is
- 43:15gonna come either way. Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. It's
- 43:20basically like if you're trying to you know, we were not in the same
- 43:24you know, time as when R Kelly was when you was doing those mixes,
- 43:29so you know, the audience is different and the R Kelly thing too.
- 43:34Bro. Like I've had this conversation with people before, and like people
- 43:37have really like I've had dudes like not come at me, but like you
- 43:40know, have like a little side conversation with me, like like almost like
- 43:45trying to like get me on the side about it. Like it's really serious
- 43:47to people, bro, And it's like, Bro, I'm not I'm not
- 43:50looking at you no type of way. I'm just getting We're talking about it,
- 43:52and I'm telling you my opinion, you know what I'm saying in particular.
- 43:55But like somebody else that will try to like try to get like reason
- 44:00with you about it, It's like, Bro, yeah, I know,
- 44:02if I could take it out and the mix still sounds good, I'm gonna
- 44:05do it. But if it doesn't, and if it sounds better with that,
- 44:07I might leave it in there. So we'll see. But I'll say
- 44:10this, man, it does go back to kind of one of the main
- 44:14points of this is that you know, everybody's living their own life, bro,
- 44:17you know. And and just because I'm listening to R. Kelly and
- 44:22by free time and I'm not bothering you, don't bother me. You know
- 44:25what I'm saying. Literally nothing to do, you know, listen or not.
- 44:30Bro, you might just be like in your room with your head in
- 44:34the air like this right, and then you get three drops of honey and
- 44:37then you put your tongue to the left and you just go oh for three
- 44:43hours straight when you're at home, Bro, And I would never know,
- 44:45never know, yeah, never know. That'd be a fun night. That
- 44:50would be a pretty fun night. Though. You think you you you think
- 44:53you can live stream that and get like people to like catch on, like
- 44:59standing like been doing that. There's live streams of nothing, of just people
- 45:05just sitting there. I bet you that shit could actually succeed. Bro,
- 45:08Do you think we could pay somebody to, like, every night for a
- 45:13week, one hour do something like that, Like, but they have to,
- 45:16like, they don't get the money unless it's a one hour straight live
- 45:20stream just looking in the air, three drops of honey. The noise.
- 45:23I don't even know what noise I did, so we have to listen to
- 45:27the playback to figure out the noise. But like, how much money you
- 45:30think it would cost? Basically seven hours, bro, an hour a day,
- 45:35three drops making a noise with your head in the air. How much
- 45:38money will it take you for you to do that shit? I probably can
- 45:42find a crack. I can do it for twenty dollars. Let's looking like
- 45:47yo, fruit, I ain't paying nobody nothing to do nothing. Oh man,
- 45:55Yo, but make sure y'all check us out on threats, man,
- 45:59because we're gonna get to get the discussion going over there. I feel like
- 46:02it's a good spot to to have the uh the podcast discussions and in the
- 46:08scuttle buck going so once once Joe comes back from his uh one month deep
- 46:16you in it? What's today? The July sixth? How deep you in
- 46:20it? Right now? Uh? No social media, it's been two weeks,
- 46:24two weeks. ID activated the day after my birthday, which is the

- 46:43that on purpose. No way, yo. No. The craziest part about
- 46:47it is that I meant it in the most encere way like cheers today.
- 46:52Oh no way, brog you villain guy. It sucks. Yeah, it's
- 47:05not good, but only for a motherfucker. Don't get it twisted. I'm
